Taurus gets to a corner as Spears swaggers about. The fans rally up as Spears and Taurus tie up. They go with knuckle locks but Spears wrangles Taurus down. Spears has the arm again, Taurus gets up and rolls to wrench and arm-drag Spears away. Now Taurus swaggers and fans cheer. Spears has to applaud that exchange, too, and shakes Taurus’ hand. Spears and Taurus circle, tie up and go around.

Taurus has Spears on the ropes, the ref counts and Taurus lets up. Spears sucker punches and bumps Taurus off the buckles! Spears stomps a mudhole into Taurus then lets off to bring him up. Spears throws Taurus out hard! Taurus tumbles to the floor, Spears goes out to go after Taurus and ram him into the apron! The teams sort out and Ryzin starts with Santana. They circle, tie up, and Santana headlocks and grinds Ryzin down. Ryzin fights up, pries free, then headlocks back. Santana throws body shots then forearms to headlock and takeover back. Ryzin headscissors, Santana pops out and the two reset. Ortiz wants Santana to tear into Ryzin, Santana gets the headlock again. Ryzin powers out but Santana runs him over. Things speed up, Santana slides under the hurdle but Ryzin elbows out of the waistlock. Ryzin runs but into a body shot, a kick and shotgun dropkick! Allie reverses back to elbow hard and hit a neckbreaker! Allie fires up, and runs to sliding forearm Golden on the ropes!

Allie takes a bow and QT applauds, but Allie wants him to give her a kiss. He moves in to kiss her on the cheek but she whips her hair at him because he’s too slow. Allie also wants him to help her into the ring, and he holds the ropes. No, she wants him to pick her up! QT does, Allie looks at the camera as if QT should’ve known this, and Allie is back on the apron. Allie blows a kiss to him, Golden swings on her but Allie blocks the punch! Frankie Kazarian VS Angelico!

The Heavy Metal Rebel has been giving singles matches a go and has been doing pretty well. Now he goes against one half of The Hybrid2, with the mouthier half in Jack Evans oddly absent. Will Angelico prove he can do things on his own? Or will Kaz pull off another win of his own?

The bell rings and Angelico circles with Kaz. They tie up, go around, and Kaz slips through to wrench to a wristlock. Kaz brings Angelico to a knee, Angelico rolls and reverses the wrench onto Kaz, but Kaz rolls and drop toeholds back. Kaz floats to get the arm back for a wristlock but Angelico stands. Angelico drop toeholds back, floats to a facelock, and holds on as Kaz rolls. Angelico floats to a waistlock, back to the facelock, then rolls Kaz over for the lateral press, TWO! The two reset and the crowd cheers. Kaz and Angelico circle, tie up, and Angelico gets the arm to wrench for a wristlock. Kaz uses ropes to flip through, then he slips around to arm-drag. Angelico sweeps the legs, covers, ONE! Kaz sweeps, covers, ONE!

Kaz jumps over Angelico’s next sweep and grins as he backs off to the corner. Angelico keeps his cool as he and Kaz circle again. They tie up, Angelico waistlocks, Kaz pries free to switch. Brandi returns after that attack by the Dark Order, and slips a “Lil’ Brand-Brand” into Tony’s shirt pocket. It was 8/22/20, the very special Saturday Night Dynamite, that the Women’s Tag Cup Finals were held, and the Nightmare Sisters lost to Ivelisse and Diamante to only be runner-up in the tournament. That tournament felt like it was designed for Allie and Brandi to win, but they didn’t. And then of course, the attack on Cody and Brandi by the Dark Order so it’s been a bit since we’ve heard from her. Brandi tells “Anthony” that most people would be very upset that they lost a tournament they had a hand in creating. But she’s not most people.

However, she is “quite perturbed” that a trainee from the Nightmare Factory listened to “Daddy Brodie” and attacked Brandi in an ambush. Brandi has a problem with Anna Jay. Maybe “Daddy Brodie” told Anna that being young and pretty and talented meant the world owed her something. Guess what: Brandi’s been pretty a long time, and it don’t mean s*it anymore. What matters is being smart. And Brandi doesn’t have much faith in Anna’s IQ when she joined “a goon squad” that needs Brodie Lee to tell them what to do and to think all the time.

But Anna is bold. She went right for the top of the food chain. But when you take aim at the queen, you better not miss. Here’s Brandi, walking, talking and confident as ever. Brandi invites Anna to play, but face to face this time. Anna better be prepared, because if she misses this time, Brandi will send Anna’s “pretty little ass” right back to the factory.

Dani comes back to tie up with Abadon, Abadon pulls hair to put Dani in the corner. Dani gets out to throw haymakers and forearms and uppercuts! Dani whips corner to corner, Abadon stops herself and Dani SLAPS her! But Abadon just stands up straight again to LARIAT Dani down! Abadon slithers around as she stalks Dani and grabs a leg. Abadon clubs the bad leg with the brace on it over and over! Dani crawls, clutching that leg, but Abadon stomps her! Abadon hammers the bad leg more and more but Dani kicks her away. The crowd rallies for Dani but Abadon SMASHES the knee into the mat!

Abadon drags Dani around by the bad leg, and SMASHES the knee again! Dani writhes while Abadon laughs. Abadon stalks Dani to the corner, waits for her to stand, and then throws big forearms. Abadon puts the bad leg on the ropes and pulls on it! The ref counts, Abadon stops at 4 and stomps the bad leg again. Abadon stands Dani up to whip corner to corner, and Dani falls over as the bad leg gives out. Abadon mocks Dani then grabs the leg again. Dani uses the good leg to kick her away, and she manages to LARIAT Abadon down! But Abadon sits up! Abadon stares at Dani, they both get up, and Abadon trips Dani up to DDT the leg!

Abadon applauds her own work as she goes after the leg again. ANOTHER leg DDT! Dani crawls to the ropes but Abadon clearly has a method to her madness. Abadon slips out and goes around the corner. Dani is on the apron, Abadon trips her up! Dani hits hard on the apron while Abadon argues with the ref. Well, she really more just shouts at the ref. Abadon puts Dani in the ropes with a Bow ‘n’ Arrow stretch but lets go at the ref’s count of 4. Abadon drags Dani in by the bad leg, then drops down for a HEEL HOOK! Dani endures, Abadon clubs away on the leg, Dani taps! Abadon wins!

The teams sort out and Luchasaurus starts against Cruz. They circle, Cruz mocks Marko’s bad leg, and then hops on Luchasaurus with a sleeper! Luchasaurus easily powers out and carries Cruz with one arm. Luchasaurus blocks the haedlock takeover and tosses Cruz to ropes. Things speed up, Luchasaurus blocks the hip toss and then the arm-drag. Luchasaurus puts Cruz in a corner and Cruz boots back! Cruz is all pumped up, but he runs into Luchasaurus’ arms for an OVERHEAD suplex! Luchasaurus kips up as Ali tags in. The bell rings and Kip doesn’t even take of his sunglasses or manly crop top as he ties up with Dean. Kip gets the hammerlock, shifts to a headlock, back to hammerlock, then half nelson then snapmare. Kip celebrates his technical prowess but circles with Dean again. They tie up with knuckle locks, Kip spins and wrangles Dean down, then he stands on the keylock. Dean gets up and Kip plays scared. Kip headlocks Dean and sits down to bring Dean down with him. Dean gets up, Kip shifts to knee and put Dean in a corner. Kip whips but Dean reverses. Kip goes up and over and speeds up, but Dean arm-drags him all around! The sunglasses fly off before Dean dropkicks Kip!

Dean wrenches Kip to a wristlock and Penelope worries for Kip. Kip fights up, then pokes Dean’s eyes! Kip kicks Dean to a corner, and then runs him corner to corner to bump him off the buckles! Kip fans himself with his shirt then stomps Dean to ropes. Kip drags Dean up and throws forearms and stomps. Kip cools off as he explains to the camera that he may not have taken Frankie Kazarian serious last week, but does he really have to face scrubs again? Dean shows Kip who’s a scrub with big forearms! Dean rocks Kip with a EuroUpper, but Kip blocks the kick to KNEE Dean down! Kip lines up his shot, and Penalty Kicks! The kick is… wide right!

Kip is upset and Dean gets up to waistlock and GERMAN SUPLEX! Kip flounders after being folded up, and Dean clobbers Kip with clotheslines! Dean fires up, whips Kip to ropes, but Kip reverses. Dean gets around, salutes, DDT! Cover, TWO!! Kip survives and Penelope is relieved. Dean keeps his focus as he drags Kip up and underhooks. Kip slips out, blocks a clothesline and pops Dean up for a knee! DISCUS! Kip drags Dean into the suplex, the ropes, DEATHLY HOLLOWS! Cover, Kip wins!

The Initiative w/ Leva Bates VS Private Party!

Despite losing again and again, The Dungeon Master and the Librarian keep on rolling forward! Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy are getting ready for an All Out opportunity, but will they lose focus and give Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon their first wins in AEW ever?

The teams sort out and Cutler starts against Quen. They tie up, Cutler headlocks but Quen powers out. Avalon tags in, Quen hurdles Cutler but turns around into a kick! Avalon CHOPS, Cutler snapmares and they work together, CHOP sandwich! Then the elbow drop splash combo! Cover, ONE! Avalon keeps on Quen with a suplex, covers, TWO! Avalon wrenches Quen, yanks on the arm and elbows the shoulder then snapmares and basement dropkicks! Avalon DECKS Ksasidy then drags Quen to Cutler. Tag and Cutler wrenches Quen to a corner. Cutler clubs and whips corner to corner, Kassidy saves Quen from hitting buckles, and Quen comes back to huricanrana Cutler!

Avalon gets in but gets a hip toss! Quen dodges the Initiative’s double clothesline, Kassidy springboard crossbodies them both down! The Initiative regroups with Leva on the outside, Cutler gets back in and Kassidy tags. Kassidy drop toeholds Cutler, tags in Quen, and Private Party coordinate to drop ax handles on Cutler’s back. Cutler kicks, Quen ducks but Cutler comes back with an enziguri! Cutler goes to run but Quen reels him in for a back suplex! Quen keeps on Cutler, tags in Kassidy, and Cassidy is stuck for the DUMDUM STOMP and boost to back suplex! Kassidy wipes the sweat from his brow, covers, TWO! Kassidy keeps on Cutler with the facelock, but Cutler powers towards the corner. Cutler back drops Kassidy up and over, hot tag to Quen!

Quen drags Cutler around, drags him up and facelocks. Cutler back drops Quen! Hot tag to Avalon! Avalon waits for Kassidy to tag and run in, for the springboard crossbody! The Librarian got major air and then dropkicks Kassidy! Avalon whips Kassidy, Kassidy reverses but Avalon comes back to LARIAT! Avalon DIVES out to take Quen down! Avalon keeps going, gets Kassidy for a fireman’s carry and Wasteland slam into the drop zone! ARABIAN PRESS! Cover, TWO!! Avalon tags Cutler in, the Initiative double back suplex but Kassidy lands his feet! Hot tag to Quen and Quen goes up top, to MOONSAULT onto both Cutler and Avalon!

Quen fires up and FLIES to take Avalon out with that Fosbury Flop! Leva is on the apron, FLYING RANA! But Quen handsprings through!! Quen hurries back in but Cutler boots him at the corner! Cutler goes up and hits a 450 SPLASH!! Cover, but the ref tells us Kassidy actually got a tag in! Kassidy Oklahoma rolls Cutler, Private Party wins!!

That was fast and furious, and it was a split second difference that turned things around on The Initiative! Will Private Party be the ones rolling through Dynamite to All Out? Will the Initiative ever roll a victory at this rate? Avalon ATTACKS Cutler! The Initiative is breaking up as Avalon grabs the giant 20-sided die. Avalon CLOBBERS Cutler with it!! Leva can’t believe this! Will Avalon go on to find that first win all on his own?

My Thoughts:

A pretty good Dark, but again par for the course. The obvious wins were obvious but there were still some really fun stuff. I like that Donnie went by “Donnie Primetime” instead of Donnie Janela, but obviously he couldn’t just change his gimmick last minute to not be Bootleg Janela. Gunn Club’s match was probably the match where commentary had the most fun because Excalibur, who is back by the way, tricked Taz into thinking there was such a group as the Gum Club. I liked the promo from Santana and Ortiz, and the brawl with Best Friends. I was kinda hoping the grudge match for Dynamite would be No Disqualifications, but it’ll still be great stuff from these two teams.

Brandi has a good promo on Anna, and Anna has a good match with Red Velvet to show that while Anna is still learning, she’s also got aggression enough to win. Anna and Brandi will have a pretty good match, it definitely will up the story between Dark Order and the Nightmare Family. Nightmare Sisters didn’t face Jay & Tay during the Women’s Tag Cup, so I bet Taynara Conti will #JoinDarkOrder and we get a women’s tag match as part of this story. Abadon got to show a little cocky personality as she beat Dani Jordyn but still kept her scary persona going. I’m pretty sure Hikaru Shida wins at All Out despite how great Thunder Rosa is, so maybe Abadon moves up to challenge Shida after.

I like that Sabian is salty about going back to beating jobbers after his loss to Kaz. I’m sure he’ll continue for a couple more weeks beating jobbers, get another match with another “name,” then maybe he wins that match and feels he should face a champion. I liked that Private Party and The Initiative were in the main event, and it was a great match, but it seems AEW has pulled the trigger on the break-up. Now give us Avalon VS Cutler in the All Out Buy-In so we finally get AEW’s Worst Wrestler, unofficial title belt and all.
