6. Kyle O’Reilly pops up on my screen & I instantly feel his intensity. I’m getting goosebumps. I am pumped to watch him kick the crap out of Adam Cole, that little wet head. All Hell breaks loose, and then? They flash to Doomsday Saito in the ring with Finn Balor. It’s like being on a date with Stacy Keibler, she goes to the bathroom and comes back as the Fabulous Moolah. Damn!

5. I love the Women’s Tag Team Titles. I called for them months ago. Sadly, the rollout sucked. Just giving Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez the belts? After they lost a match? And then they lose the belts less than an hour later? They were faces last week. They’re heels this week. They are robbed of any truly special moment. Kai and Gonzalez deserve better. The entire women’s division deserves better. The whole bit felt flat. And the worst part?

4. They broke the History-O-Meter!!! I couldn’t keep up with the number of times history was made this week. You know how to make a special moment not special? By telling me eleventy-billion times I’m witnessing history. I’m so sick of the history nonsense it inspired a special column. Check back later this week for a HISTORY MAKING NXT MINUS 6!!!

3. It’s not L.A. Knight. It’s La Knight, French for the knight. The new guy always wins his first match. I’m hoping the knight is the exception to the rule. Bronson Reed should not be the man for that job. That is just a fact of life.  

2. WALTER is the Brock Lesnar of NXT…minus the grumbling that he’s a part-timer. He shows up once a month and destroys everything. I’m cool with less WALTER. His presence should feel like a big deal because he is a big deal. The music. The coat. The chops! People are speculating WALTER versus Tommaso Ciampa. Right now I’m fixated on WALTER versus Ilja Dragunov II.    

1. This week’s That’s Why I Love Wrestling goes to…the wrist lock! It’s Tyler Bate versus Bomber Dave Mastiff facing off under Heritage Cup rules. Round two starts with a full minute of wristlock. I’m not sure how many ways there are to apply & counter a wristlock, but Bate & Bomber Dave covered most of them. It was such a simple and pure display of classic wrestling. Just a wonderful piece of business from two absolute pros. Less is more.
