Bodeen’s Top 5 Moments: WWE RAW

With Money in the Bank a few days away; go over some of the highlights from Raw! Check out Bodeen’s Top 5 moments!

Published

on

Monday Night Raw came to us from the ThunderDome for the last time, ahead of Money In The Bank this Sunday. The last RAW in the ThunderDome was a decent showing that just did enough to build towards Money In The Bank this Sunday. So what moments stood out this week as RAW is set to return to having living crowds next week? Let’s find out once again and look at the top 5 moments from this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.

5. Rhea Ripley takes on Natalya ahead of her Raw Woman’s Title match against Charlotte

Ahead of her Raw Woman’s Title match this Sunday at Money In The Bank, the Raw Woman’s Champion, Rhea Ripley would get a chance to get a warm-up match against Natalya. Both women put on a solid contest as Natayla surprised the Women’s Champion, pushing Rhea to her limit throughout the match. Ripley controlled Natayla throughout the early part of the match and would try to hit the Riptide early in the match with Natalya just able to reverse the Riptide attempt, with Natalya then attempting to hit the Sharpshooter on Ripley, on for the champion to kick Natalya outside the ring. Ripley would try to follow this up with a dropkick but Tamina would take the bullet, allowing Natalya to hit a discus clothesline to get the advantage.

Natalya continued to push the Woman’s Champion throughout the match but a northern lights suplex from Ripley would turn the tides for Ripley putting her match in the match. Both women continued back and forth to go back and forth with Ripley locking in the Prism Trap on Natayla, only for Natalya to use her experience to counter it into a roll-up for a close 2  count. Natalya eventually got the Sharpshooter on Ripley and seemed to have the match in hand but Ripley would send Natalya into the turnbuckle following it up with the Riptide for the pinfall victory with both women putting on a solid match as Natalya pushed the Raw’s Woman Champion to her limit.

Ripley’s celebration would be cut short after Charlotte hit her opponent this Sunday with a chop block from behind.  Charlotte continued to assault the Women’s Champion, finishing off her assault with a figure four from the ring apron, with Charlotte stating that her assault was a preview this Sunday as she gets the upper hand over her opponent this Sunday.

4. Xavier Woods surprises the WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley to open the show

Monday Night RAW would open with a huge surprise when the WWE Champion, Bobby Lashey took on New Day member, Xavier Woods as MVP and Kofi Kingston looked on from ringside. Woods would get the surprise advantage early in the match, surprising Lashley with a superkick and then following it up with a tornado DDT, sending a staggered Lashley outside the ring to recover. Woods wouldn’t let up, sending Lashley into the ring and hitting Lashley with a missile dropkick from the top rope for a close 2 count.

However, the WWE Champion would quickly show his dominance after he powered out of a crossface attempt from Woods to gain the advantage. Lashley would continue to dominate Woods, showcasing his strength and power in front of Kingston, sending a message to his challenge for this Sunday. After Lashley hit the spear on Woods he seemed to have the match won as Lashey taunted. However, Lashley’s arrogance would cost him as he lost after Woods hit a surprise roll-up out of nowhere for a huge upset win.

As Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods celebrated their win outside the ring, a disappointed Lashley walked outside the ring and down the ramp, leaving MVP all alone as things start to break down between the WWE Champion and MVP.

3. Erik and Ivar take on the RAW Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Omos in singles competition

The Viking Raiders would have a chance to get huge momentum ahead of their title match against AJ Styles and Omos this Sunday as both men had singles match against the Raw Tag Team Champions with Omos making his singles debut. Ivar would have the first match, taking on AJ Styles, Styles tried to get the early advantage over Ivar, but Ivar’s power would be too much for Styles as Styles struggled to get the advantage over Ivar throughout the match with Ivar getting an upset win after he used his weight to pin Styles in the corner of the ring for another upset win for the night.

Erik would take on the towering Omos soon after the match. Despite staggering the big men throughout the match, Erik would be put in an unfamiliar position as Erik got thrown around like a ragdoll by Omos. Omos would put the nail in the coffin and hit Erik with a two-handed chokeslam powerbomb for the win.

This was a solid pair of matches between the two teams with both matches being a great clash of styles (no pun intended.) Both teams are sure to have a solid match at Money In the Bank this Sunday as Omos continues to impress with his tag team with Styles.

2. MVP hosts the VIP lounge as the RAW’s last ThunderDome episode end on a sour note

The last RAW from the ThunderDome would end a sour and sad note this week as Bobby Lashley left MVP. MVP would attempt to cheer his partner up with the lounge ladies but things would go downhill after it took multiple attempts from MVP to get his friend to come out to the ring, with Lashley looking disappointed when he finally made his entrance.

Lashley would then get on the mic and state that MVP made him soft, blaming him for his loss to Xavier Woods earlier in the night, breaking up his partnership with Lashley. Lashley would then destroy the VIP lounge before sending a message to Kofi Kingston, telling Kingston his career is over, before leaving the ring, as MVP was left in complete shock.

While it is disappointing to see MVP and Bobby Lashey break up there is no denying this was a great segment with MVP stealing the show yet again as he had no words for Bobby Lashley’s break up. Hopefully, WWE has some long term plans for this and don’t drop the ball and a potentially amazing story.

1. Ricochet and John Morrison face each other once again in a falls count anywhere match

After stealing the show two weeks in a row, Ricochet and John Morrison would once again have a chance to steal the show this week as they faced each other in a falls count anywhere match. Morrison would get the advantage early in the match, hitting Ricochet with a neckbreaker from the apron. Morrison would then waste no time in showing his creativity, using Miz’s wheelchair to put Ricochet in a leverage pin. However Ricochet would then showing is creativity as well, hitting a 450 splash from the barricade on Morrison outside the ring.

Both men would go back and forth, blending innovation and agility as they stole the show once again. Late in the match Ricochet seemed to have the upper hand over Morrison, only for The Miz to wet Ricochet with the drip stick, allowing Morrison to get the upper hand. However, Riddle would come out and even the odds, putting Miz’s wheelchair on his match. Ricochet used this to his advantage, sending Morrison to a bridged ladder outside the ring and hitting a splash through the ladder for the win.

This was another amazing match between these two men as they stole the show yet again and continued to showcase their talent. Hopefully, both men can have a big match in front a live crowd in the future.

These were my top 5 moments from this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. What were your top 5 moments from RAW this week and what are your predictions for Money In The Bank this Sunday? Let us know in the comment section down below.

Chris King: The Wyatt Sicks’ Wasted Potential By WWE

Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.

Wyatt Sicks WWE

Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.

It’s that time of the year again, folks; it’s unfortunate and downright awful that so many WWE superstars got released today. I’m not going to list all of them, but I am going to talk about one of my favorite factions,

The Wyatt Sicks. Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) were something special. After Bo’s brother Bray Wyatt’s tragic passing, WWE felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. Wyatt was one of the most creative and brilliant characters, and Bo would be taking over his brother’s concept and bringing it to life. In 2024, at the end of an incredible documentary highlighting Wyatt’s career and struggles, Bo appeared on the screen portrayed as Uncle Howdy. The last time Uncle Howdy was seen on-screen was at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where Wyatt defeated LA Knight in a Pitch Black Match. Howdy jumped off a structure onto Knight.

This post-credit scene sparked so much speculation and excitement that Wyatt’s brother would carry on his legacy and possibly debut the faction that was Wyatt’s concept. On the June 17th episode of Monday Night Raw, The Wyatt Sicks made their dramatic debut ,destroying the backstage area as well as “murdering” Chad Gable. It was such an iconic arrival for Howdy as he made his menacing walk from the back into the audience who were chanting “Holy Shit.” The Sicks and American Made (Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers) battled for months, with The Sicks being victorious. On the September 9th episode of Raw, The Sicks defeated them, with Howdy getting the win with Sister Abigail.

The following year, The Sicks would move over to Friday Night SmackDown, and it seemed like WWE had a plan in place. They would win the tag team championships from The Street Profits and start to look dominant. Now, what should have happened next is Howdy should have won the United States title. The Sicks could have held all the gold over on the blue brand, but it never happened. The Sicks entered into a never-ending feud with The MFT’s (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga.) It started off exciting, and the WWE Universe was red-hot for their interactions.

After months of repetitive matches and The MFT’s stealing their lantern, the feud grew tiresome and boring. Even Tama asked Solo why they are still holding onto the lantern, as it was destroying them as a whole. Finally on the SmackDown before Mania, Tama

gave the lantern back to Howdy against Solo’s wishes. Please explain to me why both factions fought almost every single week instead of just having one final blowoff match at WrestleMania.

It should have been either a massive street fight or a falls count anywhere match on the grandest stage of them all. Instead, it turned into a meaningless week-after-week extravaganza that benefited no one. The MFTs won the rivalry, and The Sicks don’t even work for WWE anymore. This was the same criminalized creative process that Wyatt dealt with during his first run in the company.

We’ll never know how much of a dangerous force The Wyatt Sicks could have been in the WWE. For all their careers’ sake, I hope they stay far away from the company for as long as possible. Every superstar that was cut deserves better!

Chris King: Bloodline Saga: Is This the Right Call For WWE?

Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns

WWE Jacob Fatu Roman Reigns Backlash

Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is once again World Heavyweight Champion after his dominant win over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. On the following night on Monday Night Raw, The OG Bloodline came back together as a well-oiled machine as The Usos stood side by side with Roman. With the WWE Universe asking who would be the first to challenge “The Tribal Chief,” Jacob Fatu shocked the world by answering the call.

Fatu is running hot after his impressive win over Drew McIntyre and feels like he is ready to become the new world champion. This bloodline segment ended Raw, and it picked right back up on SmackDown with even Solo Sikoa and the MFTs involved. This is now two shows that have been centered around The Bloodline saga, and it’s made me question whether or not WWE should be retelling this story.

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa) ran WWE for over four years as Reigns’ henchmen, doing his dirty work to retain his title. Even though Roman has declared he doesn’t want Jey and Jimmy to serve him, it sure seems like WWE are spinning their wheels. Fatu could add a whole new chapter into the story, even if he’s not able to beat Roman at Backlash. “The Samoan Werewolf” could be forced to do the same thing as Jey did all those years ago and fall in line.

In my opinion, I feel like Fatu should be challenging for the Undisputed WWE Championship because that’s a title I feel like he should win. I understand standing up to your blood and trying to prove you’re the best, but I don’t think this is the right move. It feels like 2022 all over again, as The Bloodline is the central focus on both shows. If Fatu doesn’t win, what happens to all his momentum he’s been building over the last two years?

Why did WWE make this the best choice for storyline purposes? Why couldn’t creative have come up with a different challenger for Roman? There are so many other superstars that could challenge The Tribal Chief, such as Rusev, Bron Breakker, Gunther, or even a returning Sheamus.

I just can’t help but question WWE’s logic here, and it kind of reminds me of all the times The Shield reunited. Could WWE be pushing the same storyline too many times here? Could the WWE Universe get tired of this rinse and repeat cycle of The Bloodline Saga?

Are we about to see all the weekly episodes solely focused on The Bloodline again? Will it be cinema… Yes. Is there still money in The Bloodline… Yes. Was it the right call? That’s to be determined!
