JON MOXLEY heads to the ring!

DC goes nuts for the Maniac as he enters from the bleachers. Moxley throws his bottle of water to the crowd, kicks a trash can out of the way, then pushes through the railing to get to the ring. Mox gets the mic as fans chant his name, and then chant, “Welcome Back! Welcome Back!” Moxley throws off the jacket to then say, “Little while ago, I was asleep on a plane, it landed in some city I don’t know. And it woke me out of a dream, it was a bad dream. And I don’t remember anything about it, but I remember I was on the side of the road, on my hands and knees in the dirt, my face was bruised and cut up, and there was a black cloud, like a demon. The kind of demon that follows you around your whole life.” Everyone has these demons.

The cloud laughed at Moxley and told him that everything good in his life wasn’t supposed to be his. The cloud said, “Did you really think you were gonna make it out?” Then Moxley woke up before he could answer. No one gets through life unscathed. He has more scars on his body than the average person but that’s not important. The important scars are the ones on the inside that are harder to see. Sometimes you pretend the scars aren’t there, but those are the ones you should be proud of because those tell your story and make you the people that you are! No one is perfect, or else the world would be very boring.

So don’t be afraid to stand up in front of the world and bare it all! You should stand up, bare it all and say, “Hey! This is me!” But that said, there are people out there that want to write Moxley off, that doubt him. They’re not the first and they’re not the last. If you wanna doubt him, think what you wanna. He’ll tell you what he told the cloud, “Shove it up your ass!” So for everyone around the world who has had Mox’s back, he thanks you. Buckle up and get ready for a ride, baby! The year 2022, Mox is going on a pilgrimage to take the world of wrestling by the balls and do whatever he wants! Now more than ever, Jon Moxley is free!

And Mox will tell us this: He’s been to hell and back, it is rather liberating. No one can put him through something he hasn’t already been through, but he dares people to try. Cuz Mox is thirsty. Mox was dangerous before, but nowadays, all he drinks is blood! Who will be crazy enough to take on an invigorated and liberated Maniac?

MJF speaks.

“Last week as an abomination, an embarrassment to our great sport. When your hero, CM Punk, was powerbomb’d over and over again into what I can only assume is early-onset spinal stenosis, and what did he do? Instead of taking the loss on the chin like a man, he decided to take the easy way out. He decided to pull Wardlow in by his hair and by his tights and get a tainted pinfall victory. Granted, if Wardlow had a teeny tiny bit more seasoning, I’m sure he could’ve reversed it, but that’s not what I’m here to talk to you about today.”

MJF wants to apologize. Wait, really? Not only has Wardlow been a stellar employee, but a stellar friend for the better part of two years and two months. It is Wardlow’s birthday, so MJF’s gift is an apology for losing his cool. However, the big man put his hands on MJF. Frankly, that is not something MJF can allow, that is a bad precedent for AEW. As much as it pains MJF to do this, he’ll be docking Wardlow pay. Now, if he gets wins and qualifies for the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match to win MJF the TNT Championship, then MJF promises Wardlow that the money will go right back up. MJF believes in Wardlow, just as he does the greatest accountabilibuddy ever, Shawn Spears!

MJF believes Spears will give “PG Punk” that first L in AEW, and will show the world, and Wardlow, how to get the job done. And MJF will be on commentary to call all the action. Because Maxwell Jacob Friedman is better than you, and you know it. MJF pats Wardlow on the shoulder, but will Wardlow find a way to return his birthday present?

Mixed Tag Match: Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander VS Adam Cole & Britt Baker!

The beef between the Best Friends and the Super Ultra Mega Kliq is reaching a boiling point! Freshly Squeezed & The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien team together to take on the Panama City Playboy & The Dentist, will it be all about anything else than the Boom? Or will DC belong to Cole & Britt Baker, DMD?

The teams sort out, and it’s ladies first as Kris and Britt circle. But then Britt chickens out and tags Cole. Kris backs down, Cassidy steps in, but then Cole trolls Cassidy to tag Britt back in. Cassidy wants to throw hands but Britt dares him to break the rules. Cassidy considers it, and he shin kicks her! And again! And again! And again! But then she stomps his foot! Britt laughs, but Kris gets in and scoops her! To SLAM her! And to BOOP her! Things speed up, Kris blocks a kick to spin and scoop Britt again! Britt gets free, tag to Cole! Cassidy goes to a corner while Cole talks trash to Kris. Kris wants to punch Cole, but Cassidy climbs up, and Cassidy CROSSBODIES!

Cassidy speeds up, tilt-o-whirls but Cole blocks the DDT to shove and BOOT! Cole fireman’s carries, Cassidy slips out to shove and dodge to then tilt-o-whirl DDT! Cole bails out, fans fire up and Cassidy raises his hands. Britt gets in but Cassidy dodges, for Kris to kick and suplex! Cassidy and the fans rally up while Kris holds Britt, and then Cassidy “speeds up” to nudge them over! Fans fire up as Cassidy flexes! Kris also flexes, and then they both go to the apron. They raise their hands, Cassidy puts his in his pockets, and Kris PENDULUM MOONSAULTS! Cassidy FALLS onto Cole! Fans fire up as Cassidy takes a victory lap.

Cassidy and Kris regroup, and they HUG! GOT to give the people what they want! But then DOUBLE SUPERKICKS from Cole and Britt take them down! Then they kiss! Cole gives a thumbs up while Britt stomps Kris. Cole drags Cassidy up and POSTS him as AEW goes picture in picture!

Britt mocks Cassidy’s pockets while Cole puts Cassidy in the ring. Cole rains down fists on Cassidy, but he lets off to then soak up the cheers and jeers. Cole stalks Cassidy to a corner, drags him back up and ROCKS him with a big forearm. Cole then wrenches, whips corner to corner hard, and Cassidy bounces off buckles while Cole flexes. Cole drags Cassidy back up, turns him, and hits a NECKBREAKER! Cole sits Cassidy up and wraps on a chinlock. Cole grinds Cassidy down, Cassidy fights up, and Cassidy pries at he hold. Cassidy gets free, but runs into a back elbow! Cole then sits Cassidy up to rain down elbows into the shoulders and neck!

Cole wraps on a headscissor necklock and squeezes tight. Cassidy endures, pries at the hold but Cole clamps on tighter. Cassidy moves around, and around, and a little more, then he bounces and bounces to shake free! Cole is right after Cassidy with more fists! Cole looms over Cassidy and brings him up in the corner. Cole wrenches, whips, and Cassidy hits buckles hard again! AEW returns to single picture and Cole drags Cassidy up to whip the other way. Cassidy goes up and out then slingshots in, DOUBLE LARIATS take both men down! A standing count starts as both men crawl, hot tags to Britt and Kris!

Kris rallies on Britt, and hits an STO BACKBREAKER! Kris drags Britt up to whip her into a corner, and runs in to FOREARM! Kris runs side to side to blow snot on Cole, then runs back to KNEE Britt! Kris gets Britt up, BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO! Britt survives but Kris fires up and the fans are with her. Kris drags Britt up, reels her in, suplexes, but Britt slips out to ripcord. Kris ducks, Britt follows, arm-drags, lateral press to a backslide, TWO! Kris and Britt stand, Kris changes the hooks to Gory Especial! Britt flips off, kicks low, fisherman SCREW! Both women are down and fans fire up again!

Another standing count starts, Cassidy fires up and the fans rally with him. Britt and Kris crawl, hot tag to Cole! Cassidy jumps in and the haymakers start flying! Cassidy gets the edge, Cole wobbles, but Cole uses 52 Fake Out! Then he blows a kiss, but Cassidy blocks to spin Cole. Cole ENZIGURIS through! Cole suplexes, STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE from Cassidy! Britt tags as Cassidy Alabama lifts. Britt saves Cole, to CURB STOMP Cassidy! But Kris BOOTS Britt! Scoop and SPINNING MICHINOKU! Cover, TWO!! Britt survives, but Kris drags her to a drop zone. Fans rally up as Kris climbs, but Cole shields Britt!

Kris decides whatever, AREA 451!! Tag to Cassidy, and he scoops Cole, BEACH BREAK!! Cover, TWO?!! Both men are down but fans are fired up! “This is Awesome!” as Cassidy stands. Cassidy grits his teeth, throws off his elbow pad, and he runs at Cole, only for Cole to bail out! So Cassidy builds speed to FLY, into a SUPERKICK! Cole tells fans to shut their mouths, and then he goes to the corner. Cole hops up and aims at Cassidy, but Kris throws Cassidy into the ring! Fans fire up as Cole grins, and he decides to go through with it! But then Britt SUPERKICKS Kris so he doesn’t have to. Britt hops on, DESTROYER on the ramp!!

Cole aims in the ring, PANAMA SUNRISE to Cassidy! Cover, TWO?!!? Cassidy survives and neither Cole nor Britt can believe it! But fans are loving “A E DUB!” Cole goes out and has the timekeeper clear out. Cole and Britt grab the table, bring it closer to ringside, and Cole goes in to fetch Cassidy. But Cassidy runs in, Cole dodges the Orange Punch! Cassidy bumps Britt off the apron and Britt falls through the table! Everyone is shocked, and Cole is furious! The ref is checking on Britt, Cole LOW BLOWS Cassidy, then brings down the knee pad! THE BOOM!! But the ref is still checking Britt! He finally gets in, counts, Cole and Britt win!

Winners: Adam Cole & Britt Baker, by pinfall

But Britt sure doesn’t feel like a winner after what happened. Cole pushes medics aside to check on Britt himself. Will the AEW Women’s World Champion still be alright after her and Cole’s idea almost cost them?

Backstage interview with the Inner Circle.

Namely, it is Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz. Alex Marvez brings up how Eddie Kingston got injured last week at the hands of Daniel Garcia & 2point0. But next week, that trio faces this trio 3v3. Jericho doesn’t really care about Kingston, and says Kingston can GFY. But as for 2point0 and Garcia- Ortiz stops Jericho there, and says with all due respect, Jericho may not like Kingston, but Ortiz & Santana do. So tread carefully talking about him. And another thing. Santana knows Kingston said some truth last week. Maybe Jericho is why Proud ‘n’ Powerful aren’t the AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Everyone from The Elite to the Pinnacle and now Garcia & 2point0, Santana & Ortiz have been fighting Jericho’s battles. When has Jericho had their back? Every week! No, no, no. When did Jericho truly have their back? Maybe next week, Santana & Ortiz can prove they don’t need Jericho to win. “Maybe next week we’ll focus more on us, instead of this. Feel me?” Jericho says he doesn’t feel that. But other than that, Jericho is at a loss for words. Is the Inner Circle falling apart at the seams?

Backstage interview with Adam Cole.

Alex Marvez points out the pyrrhic victory Cole & Britt got, but Cole tells him to leave. Cole says Orange Cassidy has been a thorn in Cole’s side for far too long. And then he goes and puts his hands on Cole’s girlfriend! Cole has done everything, beating Cassidy in singles and a mixed tag match! What more does he have to do? But then Cole realized, with next week being AEW Beach Break, instead of Cassidy being a thorn in Cole’s side, Cole will destroy him! Cole proposes Cole VS Cassidy an ANYTHING GOES, LIGHTS OUT MATCH!! Cole can’t stand to look at Cassidy’s stupid face anymore, so it’s time to end Cassidy’s pathetic career!

Will the Panama City Playboy no longer be playing games when he looks to crush Freshly Squeezed?

AEW shares CM Punk’s comments after last week’s Dynamite.

“Spears, huh? Okay.” Spears himself said that who he is is obvious, but what he is is much harder to explain. The Chair Man is who MJF sends to make sure a message is understood. Spears doesn’t play within the lines, there will be no warning and he’ll never apologize. Punk says Spears is the last guy in the way of Punk VS MJF. MJF is running out of bodies and luck, and before MJF knows it, he’ll have no choice but to get in the ring with Punk, at a time and in a place he really won’t want to.

CM Punk VS Shawn Spears!

The Best in the World more or less survived The Pinnacle’s War Dog, but a win is a win. However, will The Chair Man finish off what’s left of Punk so that MJF no longer has to fear him? Or is this last pawn going to be cleared out so that Punk can put MJF in checkmate?

But after Punk makes his entrance, MJF makes his to join commentary, just as promised. The bell rings and Punk gets Spears right away for a spin, fireman’s carry, and G T S!! Cover, Punk wins!!!

Winner: CM Punk, by pinfall

MJF is pissed! He barely got to say a word on commentary, and also his supposed ace in the hole looks more like a joker! But then MJF slithers in as Punk celebrates, only for Punk to be ready. MJF steps back and tries to laugh this off, but then Punk gets him by his scarf! MJF ducks out to run away, but Punk knows how close he came to making contact. Will MJF have no choice but to

The Gunn Club took control of a camera.

Billy Gunn is there to see Christian Cage walking up. Billy gives Captain Charisma a hard time over showing up late and making Billy wait. Christian says it’s good to see him, too. But Billy gets to business by bringing up how his boys, Austin & Colten, are ranked in the top five tag teams. And he thinks it’s about time they get a shot at the tag titles that Christian’s boys, Jurassic Express, hold. Is that what he thinks? Okay. Well here’s the thing. There is no doubting the talent Austin & Colten have. They have Billy’s genes! They’re big, strong, fast. But when the lights were brightest, Billy could never get that big win. And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Maybe when they make a statement.

Billy keeps Christian from walking away, but Christian pushes him. So Colten CLOBBERS him from outta nowhere! Billy tells Christian he doesn’t know who he’s talking to, and then he THROWS Christian into a garage door! Austin & Colten drag Christian up to SLAM him into the garage door together! “Statement made.” But what will Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus have in response?

Cody Rhodes is here!

The American Nightmare rises up from below the stage, holding onto his AEW TNT Championship belt. The Go Big Show gets a plug in picture in picture while he goes to the ring. Cody fires up, kisses the belt, then takes his time going around the ring to soak up all the cheers and jeers of DC. Cody then goes looking under the ring, and he brings out a LADDER! Well this certainly has to do with the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match returning, as Cody gets some help getting the ladder in the ring. Cody stands the very tall ladder up and then shows off the belt a little more. AEW then returns to single picture as Cody gets a mic.

Fans are torn, but Cody asks what they wanna talk about. He’s reminded from that last match about a man who once sat on a stage just like that, looked in a ring just like this, and he gave one of the most important addresses in the history of this sport. It inspired thousands of would-be wrestlers, mobilized literally millions of fans, and it was the first hint of a revolution. Cody of course means CM Punk and his pipe bomb. Cody was told to save this promo, but he doesn’t know when he’ll get a better chance so he’ll say it now. In that interview, the first whiff of a revolution, Punk laid out a road map and listed things that for him, for Cody, were taboo.

Things like going to NJPW, working with ROH, and ultimately teaming with The Young Bucks. As destiny would have it, as fate would have it, Punk was unable to do it, but Punk would join… The anti-Cody fans chant STFU while the pro-Cody fans boo them down. Cody says that Punk would eventually wind up here in what Pro-Wrestling Illustrated called The Comeback of the Year. But if they’re all being honest, seeing all the Punk shirts, this is the comeback of the decade, and we are all living it and loving it. Fans cheer that sentiment. But Cody says in Punk’s absence, someone did do each and every one of those things he listed. That someone was Cody!

Cody carried every ounce of empty monopoly sentiment on his shoulders, held every grain of the revolution in his hands, and each and every one of the fans cheered! Cody asks us if we want to know why he won’t “turn Heel.” It is because the fans cheered when Cody needed it the most! When his song opens with, “Wrestling has more than one royal family,” Cody is talking of himself and all of us. “People talk about the Forbidden Door. It’s a proper noun. It’s vernacular. But if you are an industry journalist who covers what we do and you disagree with anything that I say here tonight, you’re not a journalist.

“As this generation likes to say, check the receipt, check the dates. Before there was a Forbidden Door, I was the one who built it!” Fans are torn again but there are plenty who agree. Cody says he is gone for just two weeks, and he sees that the Young Bucks almost started a Wednesday Night War all over again. Cody knows reDRagon graduated hip toss class with flying colors, but Cody doesn’t need to see The Bucks beat developmentals more than once. And then Cody’s friend, Ricky Starks, gets into a tiff with Jay Lethal? “Word to the wise, the Lethal Injection is the one cutter in the business that people don’t kick out of. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

“And then one of the most talented wrestlers on the planet you’re gonna see later, Malakai Black.” Fans really cheer here. Cody says “A guy who hung two losses on my name, and everybody knows I hate to lose. A man who needed no help, added insult to injury by getting help, in the form of just this… size and speed and strength. And I know we’re not in the business of renaming people like Gunner McGillabuddy or whatever the hell it is. But not just speed and strength, balls. Because if you come to AEW and you call yourself Brody, you’ve got balls.” Cody will let us find out in 8 years what a mistake it was for when that kid shows up.

But speaking of Brodie Lee, and of Darby, of Miro, and of the TNT Champion, Sammy Guevara… This is a lineage of men, of champions, who taught us what we were taught against, what we were conditioned for 20 years, that any title that doesn’t have the word “world” in it is a secondary belt. But there are no secondary belts here. The only reason it’d be secondary is because right now, there’s two. Cody says it is clear what we’re going to do. Cody looks to the ladder. He knows Tony Khan has sent a contract in the mail to Cody and Sammy, and maybe not the contract Cody wanted, wink wink nudge nudge.

“But Sammy, at this point… Beach Break, two titles, one champion.” Cody starts climbing the ladder and asks what Sammy says to that. Cody reaches the top, holds up the belt, and it is clear that before the Face of the Revolution, AEW might be going old school! Who will be the UNDISPUTED TNT Champion?

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Jade Cargill, Mark Sterling, Anna Jay and John Silver.

Silver is flexing but the TBS Champion has issued an open challenge for her title. And one of the top ranked women in AEW, Anna Jay, has stepped up! Does Number 99 have what it takes to win? But Mark Sterling speaks up, saying probably not. Jade is undefeated at 24-0, but is thrilled to accept the challenge. Oh, 24-0? Well, Silver says Anna’s got 24 inch pythons, and is ranked #2! Then she’ll be the ONE that beats Jade for the title! Cuz Anna hungy! Anna tells Jade herself that there is a dark side to Anna Jay. She wrapped barbed wire around her arm just to win a match. She will do whatever it takes to win. Will Jade?

Jade says okay. But Anna needs to understand who Jade is, and where they are. This is #ThatBitchShow! Will a storm be coming for Anna Jay? Or will the Queenslayer dethrone the undefeated champion?

The House of Black VS The Varsity Blonds!

Malakai and Brody have reunited, and they’re ready to revolutionize through wreaking havoc! Will the current PWG Tag Team Champions crush all hope left inside Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr?

The teams sort out, Griff starts against King and the two tie up. They go around, King puts Griff in the corner and Malakai tags in. Griff headlocks but Malakai powers out to CLBOBER Griff with an elbow! Malakai fires off hands in the corner, snapmares and wraps on a chinlock, but Griff gets up. King tags in, Malakai powers out to BOOT Griff, and King runs Griff over! King snarls, drags Griff up but Griff JAWBREAKERS! Malakai grabs Griff but Griff elbows free. Griff escapes a scoop, tag to BPJ! BPJ ROCKS King, but he’s second guessing going to the air. King eggs him on but BPJ drops down. Griff tries to coach BPJ up, but King goes out to run in and CLOBBERS Griff into the steps!

BPJ gets in the ring, SUPERKICKS Malakai then runs, but King blocks the dropkick to RAM BPJ into apron! King stalks BPJ, waistlocks and deadlifts, but BPJ fights off the House of Black. Malakai KICKS BPJ’s haymaker away, King ROCKS BPJ then Malakai sweeps the legs. SENTON from King! Griff gets in, King CLOBBERS him! Malakai gets BPJ up, suplex into DANTE’S INFERNO!! cover, the House of Black wins!

Winners: The House of Black, by pinfall

“The Kings of the Black Throne” just crushed the #4 ranked team in AEW! Malakai gets a mic to say, “Members of the House of Black! Please, rise.” But then PAC calls them out ont he titantron! Thanks to then, Pac has found new vision. A new purpose. And now he truly sees them. “Malakai, you are just the same as every other cretin in AEW: self-obsessed and power hungry. And it’s exhausting.” Malakai might have some spells up his sleeve, but The Bastard is beyond even his reach now. Incorruptible! This was the moment Malakai expected Pac to bow down and call him master? No. Pac is going to make a martyr of him. Pac was blind but now he sees! Will he return to tear down the House of Black brick by brick?

AEW hears from Jake the Snake and Hangman Page.

Dan Lambert stays quiet in the corner as Jake says, “The value of a man is shown when he’s under fire. But what you gotta think about, Cowboy, is who are you? Show us who you are! You’re the champ. You call yourself a cowboy, I bet you’re like Clint Eastwood, allergic to horses.” Hangman can’t believe they’re arguing about how much of a cowboy he is. Do you think Bob Orton spent 8 days on the road and then came home to herd cattle? Last week, Hangman said he wanted a challenger, and now it seems he has one. Jake says Archer does not wait in line anymore! Well if he wants a shot at the world title, come get one. But if he wants a fight, Hangman will bring one to them.

Jake the Snake says Hangman means nothing to them. But when it comes time, Hangman will bite the dust. And it’s time. Will the Murderhawk Monster end Hangman’s reign already? Or will everyone see some real cowboy s*it?

Backstage with the #CutlerCam.

But while Brandon is looking for the Young Bucks, Rocky Romero and Trent walk in! Roppongi Vice tell Cutler that this is their promo now! And Brandon better keep rolling or they’re gonna kick his ass! Trent tells Rocky to take it easy, The Elite is always bullying Brandon. Trent apologizes and asks if they can just do something real quick. Uh, sure. Thanks, man. So Rocky says week after week, Best Friends lose to The Elite, and it’s getting tired. Rocky just got back from Japan, getting nostalgic in the mountains of Tokyo. Remember that time they beat the Bucks for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag titles in the Tokyo Dome? Yeah! A few times. In front of 30K+ people!

So Rocky is thinking, RPG Vice are the guys to beat the Bucks. Easy! The challenge is put out for Rampage! RPG Vice, one more night! Okay, Brandon, you can turn off the stupid camera, they’re done. Trent cools Rocky off and says Brandon is doing great. Real pleasure working with him. Brandon says it was nice working with them, too. The Bucks are gonna kill him, though… Then turn the camera off!

Lance Archer w/ Jake the Snake & Dan Lambert VS Frankie Kazarian!

The Murderhawk Monster got Hangman’s attention, and perhaps even a title match. But will the Heavy Metal Rebel prove Archer isn’t ready for such a big moment? Or will Kaz just be a very big stepping stone on the way to #PrettyPlatinum?

Archer DECKS Kaz the second he’s in reach, and then the bell rings! Archer gets on the corner to take off his shirt, offer it to the crowd, then throw it on the ground. Archer hops down and turns around, into Kaz’s forearms! Archer shoves Kaz away but Kaz comes back for more! Archer shoves Kaz again, Kaz dropkicks a leg out! Kaz ROCKS Archer, runs, but Archer follows to CLOBBER Kaz! Archer reels Kaz in for a short arm LARIAT! “This is MY house!” Archer stands Kaz up in a corner, and CHOPS him down! Kaz goes to another corner, fires off hands but Archer knees low and CLUBS away on Kaz’s back!

Archer stomps Kaz to ropes, stands on his head, but lets off as the ref counts. Archer lets off at 4, drags Kaz up and bumps him off buckles. Archer stomps Kaz, digs his boots in, but the ref counts. Archer lets off again, storms around, then stands Kaz up to ROCK him with a right! Archer brings Kaz over, throws a headlock punch, then has Kaz in the buckles. Archer digs his hands into Kaz’s face as he talks trash on Hangman’s “Cowboy bullshit.” Kaz hits back but Archer knees low. Archer suplex TOSSES Kaz! Kaz flounders up, hits back but Archer knees low and CLUBS Kaz down. Kaz grits his teeth and Archer tells fans to shut up.

Archer whips Kaz corner to corner, runs in but into an elbow! Kaz slips out, ducks one clothesline but Archer CLOBBERS Kaz with the other! Archer sneers as AEW goes picture in picture.

Archer fetches Kaz, glares at the fans, but Kaz CHOPS back. Archer doesn’t budge, Kaz throws a forearm, but Archer ROCKS him with the return. Archer chokes Kaz on the railing, and then he shots at a little girl in the front row! And then also her parents, possibly. Archer lets off on Kaz, brings him around, and POSTS him! Archer glares at fans talking trash on him, so he goes back to talking trash on the little girl. Archer follows Kaz, but Kaz SMASHES him with a cup of beer! And then fires off haymaker after haymaker! But Archer THROWS Kaz into the ring! Archer gets in, but Kaz CHOPS him! Archer doesn’t flinch, so Kaz CHOPS again! And again!

Archer swings, Kaz bobs ‘n’ weaves to throw more hands! Kaz runs, but into a DERAILER! Kaz flounders to the ramp side, but Archer just snarls and glares at the little girl. Archer drags Kaz up from the apron, chokes him on the ropes with a headlock, but lets off at 4. Archer runs side to side to DECK Kaz! The ref reprimands and Kaz sputters but Archer just soaks up the heat. Lambert is still scared of Archer, that wrath could target him again. Archer goes out but Kaz is right on him with fast hands! Archer THROWS Kaz back into the ring! Archer gets in, storm sup to Kaz and BOOTS him down! Archer stands on Kaz again but the ref counts. Archer lets off at 4 to glare at the ref.

AEW returns to single picture, Archer drags Kaz up by his ears, but Kaz pulls on the braided hair. Archer CHOPS Kaz in the corner, brings him around and asks the fans, “One more?” Fans want another, but Archer says F U and whips Kaz corner to corner hard! Kaz bounces off the buckles chest first, Lambert tells him he should just quit. Archer digs his knee into Kaz, talks trash at the little girl again, but lets off at 4. Fans call Archer a P O S but he doesn’t care. Archer CLUBS Kaz, Kaz throws a back elbow. Archer throws down another haymaker, then digs Kaz’s face into the mat, all while laughing.

Archer lets off at 4 to drag Kaz up and clamp on a choke grip. CHOKE- NO! Kaz slips out, ducks and dodges to ROCK Archer with forearms! Kaz whips but Archer blocks to reverse, but Kaz hits a FLYING FOREARM! Archer goes to a corner, but he catches Kaz and puts him in the corner for back elbows! Archer puts Kaz up top, brings him out, but Kaz fights the inverted crucifix! Kaz throws elbow after elbow, and even BITES Archer’s forehead! Lambert protests but Kaz BOOTS Archer! Kaz leaps to missile dropkick! Archer is down and fans fire up! Kaz runs to springboard, LEG DROP! Cover, ONE!!

Kaz is shocked but Archer goes to a corner. Kaz runs in to KNEE him in the back! Kaz wants the crossface but Archer pries free to ROCK him with a forearm! Choke grip, CHOKE SLAM!! Archer is fuming as he drags Kaz back up, ripcord and HELLACOASTER! Archer roars but fans boo, and Archer puts Kaz back up top. Archer inverted crucifix carries Kaz out, for the BLACKOUT!! Cover, Archer wins!

Winner: Lance Archer, by pinfall

Kaz fought his heart out, but #EverbodyDies. Lambert celebrates, Schiavone gets in the ring to congratulate Archer. But what is this new business partnership? Lambert says they don’t need to understand. Just know that Hangman isn’t “old enough” for this. He wasn’t raised outside, drink water out of a hose, run home from the Rocky movie to tell dad that he wanted to be a boxer. No, Hangman and his friends played video games and stayed inside. They sipped Perrier out of a bottle, and saw the Toy Story movies made them wanna be dairy farmers, giving handies to cows to make soy milk to sell to Starbucks! Hangman is not mentally nor physically prepared for the monster, and Lambert will-

Actually, Archer snatches the mic so he can talk. “Enough of this cowboy bullshit. I’m gonna show you what I’m gonna do.” Archer gets a chair, tosses it aside, and then fetches Kaz. Archer throws Kaz out to the ramp, positions the chair, and then brings Kaz up. Archer says it’s okay, Kaz, it’ll be over soon. Choke grip, but here comes Hangman! Fans go nuts for the champ as he gets right in Archer’s face! And then SLAPS him! Archer ROCKS Hangman but a brawl ensues! Archer knees Hangman low, gets the chair, but Hangman uses his cowboy boot to CLOBBER Archer! Then he sets up, slingshot, but into a choke grip!

Hangman breaks free for elbow after elbow! Hangman clotheslines Archer out! Lambert keeps Archer from going back for more, the title match is coming! When and where will these bulls lock horns in the ring?

Backstage interview with Matt Sydal, Lee Moriarty & Dante Martin.

Alex Marvez says that not only did Dante recently settle a score with Team Taz by beating “Powerhouse” Hobbs, he also saved Sydal & Moriarty from an attack. And that’s because for months, while Darius has been out, Sydal has been like a brother to Dante. So Dante has Sydal’s and Moriarty’s backs against Team Taz. Moriarty tells Dante that he’s watched their back, and until Darius is back, they’ll do the same for him. Will these high-flyers take care of business?

Team Taz responds.

Ricky Starks has a headache as he asks, “Oh my God, Dante! How many brothers do you have, man?” But he’s what Starks realized about Dante: He has a baby brother complex. Dante thinks everyone around is his friend, is his brother. But no one is his friend, and he will find out that he is all alone! Hobbs says Dante better have someone watch his front, back and both sides. Team Taz builds assassins. Will one of those assassins take out Angel Dorado before the Air Wolf returns?

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander & Red Velvet.

Schiavone knows Statlander went through hell in the Mixed Tag Match, so he appreciates her willing to be here talking to him. Except she just stares daggers. And then Leyla Hirsch walks in with sarcastic clapping. “Stat, what a match. Congratulations. Before you had the same focus for our match. But you didn’t. Because of you, we lost on Rampage. You have become so selfish. And the worst part is, you’ve cost me thousands of dollars, you’ve cost Red thousands of dollars.” Velvet has Leyla cool down. They’re a team. No, Red, shut up! You’re always on Stat’s side! Velvet says there was miscommunication, it happens.

But then Leyla CLOBBERS Velvet! Statlander asks her what the hell, but then Leyla CLOBBERS Statlander! And puts her in the LEGIT ARMBAR! Referees rush in to stop Leyla but she still kicks at Statlander as she lets off. The friendship is no more, but has the fight only just begun?

Serena Deeb VS Skye Blue!

The Professor of Professional Wrestling, the Woman of 1000 Holds, didn’t use much more than Hikaru Shida’s own kendo stick and some cheap shots to win last week. But will a friend of Shida’s avenge her? Or will Deeb leave Skye black ‘n’ blue tonight?

The bell rings, Skye and Deeb circle. They tie up, Deeb headlocks, spins through to a hammerlock then a snapmare. Deeb slaps Skye around but Skye gets up in a huff. They circle, Deeb gets around Skye to headlock, but Skye blocks the takedown to power out. Deeb runs Skye over, pushes her around, then runs. Skye drops, but Deeb sees the back drop coming to shove Skye out. Skye ducks the forearm to ROCK Deeb back! Skye throws a shoulder in, only for Deeb to counter with a facelock! Deeb grinds Skyle with the grovit, but the ref counts. Deeb lets off at 4, turns Skye, and HOTSHOT NECKBREAKERS! Skye flops down, Deeb scowls and runs in at the corner, to LARIAT!

Deeb trips Skye, gets her under the bottom rope, for the GUILLOTINE CATAPULT! Deeb kicks Skye around, fans fire up for the aggression, and Deeb drags Skye up. Deeb EuroUppers, pulls hair to EuroUpper the back! Then a facelock to TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Deeb grins as she enjoys torturing Skye, and Deeb slaps Skye around. Deeb drags Skye up, “You think you’re on my level!?” Deeb hooks Skye up, DETOX! But Deeb doesn’t cover, she hooks up the arm to an omoplata and SMASHES the knee over and over! SERENITY LOCK! Skye taps, Deeb wins!

Winner: Serena Deeb, by pinfall

Deeb lets off when she’s satisfied, and Skye surely learned a lesson tonight. Who else will learn the hard way not to stand in Deeb’s way?

AEW hears from Dan Lambert and The Men of the Year.

Lambert says Moxley returns, and the locker room scatters like roaches when the lights come on. But someone who didn’t scatter was All Ego, Ethan Page. “Jon Moxley, please do not let the fancies fool you, or the $500 sunglasses. Because Ethan Page is up for the task. You guys can stop looking around for opponents for Jon Moxley.” While Moxley was gone, Ethan’s been racking up victories, climbing the rankings, gotten wins over Jericho and the Inner Circle, and has pinned Darby Allin! Do not take Ethan lightly. If Tony Khan wants a marquee match, look no further than the franchise player! But will All Ego be deflated by a Paradigm Shift soon enough?

AEW takes a closer look at Hook.

“Something of a phenomenon. The cold-hearted, handsome devil.” A killer in the ring, undefeated through his first month of action. But he’s back on Rampage, taking on Serpentico! Will Hook tear SNAKEMAN apart without breaking a sweat?

Sammy Guevara has a picture in picture promo.

The interim TNT Champion is home, looking out at the beach, as he has the cards ready. “Pretty, isn’t it? This beach is an escape. This beach is relaxing. This beach is peaceful. Only thing is, this is my beach. As for yours, Cody… 2 belts, 2 ladders, 2 champions. And only ONE winner. At Beach Break, you will find NO peace. You won’t be able to relax. And you won’t escape. You took what was mine, and I want it back. Next Wednesday, at Beach Break, there will be no Spanish God, no vlog star. The Sammy you knew is gone. Next Wednesday, I walk out of Beach Break… the UNDISPUTED TNT Champ. Hit Me Up.” Sammy picks up his belt, but will it become THE belt after next week?

Backstage interview with Matt Hardy and Andrade El Idolo.

The Hardy Family Office is also here as Schiavone says these two seem to have a business deal. They do! Hardy has reached an amazing agreement with Andrade. Hardy has sold 51% of the HFO stock, but it’ll be on the up and up. Hardy has the majority of seats in there, as the original members were him and Private Party. Then Andrade and Jose make up the other two seats. Then on top of that, Hardy is CEO, running day to day, while Andrade will be the president! Andrade loves being El Presidente of HFO. And from now on, they are AHFO, Andrade Hardy Family Office, and they will continue to recruit the best talent in AEW.

Who was the guy Andrade’s been after? This little kid, that works for Sting. Darby Allin? Oh, Darby is a very talented guy. If he survives tonight’s main event with The Acclaimed, he better smarten up and join AHFO. That said, the agreement and merger is official. Then let’s celebrate! Salud!

Sting & Darby Allin VS The Acclaimed!

Anthony Bowens & Max Cater continue to parody the Icon and the Relentless One by doing their own black ‘n’ white vignette. Bowens is on a scooter rather than skateboard while “Stang” drives the car. Bowens struggles with the scooter, and gets run over by Stang! And then Caster CLOBBERS Stang with a baseball bat and shouts, “It’s showtime! WOO~!” And then The Acclaimed make their entrance to the ring. “The Acclaimed, beaten that ass if you were hatin’. Fightin’ with us is gory self-mutilation.

“Two grown men and they goin’ through a goth phase. We’re black ‘n’ white and we don’t even need face paint. We’ll put it on ’em like honor system. They even got teeth more crooked than politicians. And Sting’s gonna learn a lesson. We have ’em lookin’ worse than Starrcade ’97!” Bowens tops it off with, “WASHINGTON DC~~! The Acclaimed have arrived!” And they break the skateboard with Darby’s name on it! But then Darby and Sting make their entrances, only for The Acclaimed to jump them at the ropes! Bowens shoves Darby down to the ground, stomps away on him, and Cater clubs Sting. Bowens gets a chair to JAM Darby, then Caster puts Darby in the ring.

Caster has Darby on the apron, puts the chair around his head, and Bowens gets Darby up. “Welcome to the Black Parade, BITCH!” Bowens whips Darby into a post! The ref calls for help from the medics but Bowens mocks Darby. Sting rushes over to run The Acclaimed off for the moment and asks how Darby is doing. The medics say Darby is in no shape, this is now a handicap match! The bell rings, Bowens rushes in but Sting DECKS him! Sting fires off hands on The Acclaimed over and over and fans fire up! Sting kicks Caster out, throws hands on Bowens, then whips Bowens corner to corner. Sting sweeps the legs, DECKS Caster, then throws Bowens out.

Sting goes out, brings Bowens up, and whips him hard into steel steps! Sting kicks Caster, and whips him into the steps! Fans fire up for Sting, he RAMS Caster back into the steps! Sting sees Bowens in the corner, traps him and runs to STINGER SPLASH Caster! Then a STINGER- NO! Bowens moves and pulls the buckle pad away! Sting hits steel! Caster dropkicks Sting down, Bowens covers, TWO!! Sting survives but AEW goes picture in picture.

Bowens drags Sting up, pushes him into the buckle and stomps away. Tag to Caster, The Acclaimed double suplex Sting up and over. Cover, TWO! Caster is annoyed, but he covers again. TWO, and Caster argues the count. Caster stomps Sting, drags him up, brings him around but Sting throws body shots. Caster knees low, tags Bowens, and they put Sting in a neutral corner. Bowens runs in to forearm, Caster runs in to back elbow, and Bowens goes side to side for another forearm. Bowens feeds Sting to Caster’s POWERSLAM! Bowens covers, TWO! Sting is still in this and The Acclaimed grows frustrated.

Bowens says everyone loves the Acclaimed, but DC seems torn. Bowens kicks Sting to ropes, drags him up, chokes him against the ropes, but lets off as the ref counts. Caster gets a cheap shot in! Bowens drags Sting up, stomps him in the corner, CLUBS him down, then talks more trash. Bowens drags Sting over, tags in Caster, and the Acclaimed mug Sting. Caster CLUBS Sting, tags Bowens back in, and they mug Sting more. Bowens brings Sting around, and hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! AEW returns to single picture and DC rallies for Sting. Bowens drags Sting up, tags Caster back in, and they double whip, but Sting breaks the line to DOUBLE LARIAT!

Fans fire up with Sting as he gets Caster’s legs! SCORPION DEATHLOCK!! But Bowens gets in, ROLLING ELBOW! Sting doesn’t budge!! Sting eggs Bowens on, even! Bowens SUPERKICKS and now Sting falls! Bowens pushes Sting out, grabs the Five Tool Boombox, and he takes aim. Caster keeps the ref distracted, Bowens CLOBBERS Sting with the boombox! Bowens hides the boombox, drags Sting up and around as fans cheer and jeer. Bowens brings Sting around as Caster sets up the steep steps. The ring count climbs, Caster goes up and Bowens says Sting’s going for a ride! But then Darby DIVES off the stage!! He’s somehow alright!!

Bowens runs at Darby but is sent into the POST! Darby gets Sting in the ring, fans are going nuts, and Darby tags in! No more handicap match, Darby is up top for a SUPER COFFIN DROP! Darby gets Caster in the ring, but he’s a little slow. He still hops on, CODE RED! Cover, TWO! Caster survives but Darby is seething. Darby runs in, COFFIN SPLASH! And then another! Darby reels Caster in for a GUILLOTINE! Darby has the body scissors, but Caster endures and fights up, to tag Bowens in! Caster RAMS Darby into the bare buckle, TOSSES Darby, and Bowens fires off the Five Tool Strike Fest!

Bowens gets Darby in for the CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED! Caster hits the MIC DROP ELBOW! Cover, Sting breaks it! Sting whips Caster, clotheslines him out, then dumps Bowens out to the ramp! Fans fire up as Sting goes out and follows Caster off to the side of the stage. Sting takes aim while Caster gets up, and Sting FLIES! He and Caster crash through the timekeeper’s table!! Fans go nuts for that one! And they also chant, “You Still Got It!” Meanwhile, Bowens runs in at Darby but is sent into the bare buckle! Darby gets around for the THROWBACK STUNNER! Bowens drops into the drop zone, Darby goes up top! COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Sting & Darby win!!

Winners: Sting & Darby Allin, by pinfall

The undefeated and relentless icons just took down the #1 ranked tag team! Are they going to find themselves at the top of the heap to go after the AEW World Tag Team Championships?

My Thoughts:

What a wild episode right here! Great promo from Moxley to open the show, and I’m surprised The Men of the Year are shifting focus from the TNT title right now. It might just be a one-off of Mox VS Ethan for Rampage, but it’ll be a really good return match for Moxley. Lambert being Archer’s corner man tonight was definitely interesting, but Archer VS Kaz was great stuff. Archer naturally wins and he has a great brawl with Hangman. Their title match is probably going to be for Revolution, that’s in early March, giving five more weeks to build. And we’re getting a lot of great stuff for Rampage and Beach Break this week, too.

Jade VS Anna for the TBS Championship on Rampage is going to be great, but pretty sure Jade wins. I liked the quick video we got for Hook, he’s definitely beating Serpentico. Trent and Rocky had a real good promo with Cutler, and I love that we’re getting Roppongi Vice VS Young Bucks in AEW for Rampage, that could be an instant classic. Inner Circle having tension over Eddie Kingston being a friend of Santana & Ortiz is a great next step for this story, and that Six Man on Rampage is going to be really good. We got a great Mixed Tag, so many great teases of co-ed action (even though we saw that on the Cruise of Jericho a couple years ago), and Britt taking a table spot was great. Cole VS Cassidy, Lights Out/Unsanctioned for Beach Break is going to be awesome!

Dante and his allies have a good promo, as does Team Taz. Whatever kind of tag match comes of this, it’s going to be really good, and I’m sure Lethal will get in on things soon, too. Maybe Team Taz takes out Sydal or Moriarty and Lethal subs in with him. MJF’s promo about Wardlow was good, but Punk squashing Spears was bittersweet for me. I wanted more out of Punk VS Spears, but this pissing MJF off was great stuff. I don’t know how, but MJF VS Punk is probably being saved for Revolution to give it a huge stage. We got a great tag match and win for House of Black/Kings of the Black Throne. They didn’t bring the PWG belts but I would love if at some point, we see things like the PWG champions, the AEW champions, etc. all interacting for a huge tag match.

Gunn Club going after Christian is an interesting way to set things up with Jurassic Express, that title match could happen for the post Beach Break Rampage and would be a great showing for Austin & Colten while Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus get another successful defense. Deeb dominates Skye, and I’m thinking she’ll have a follow-up match with Conti for some really great technical stuff. Deeb will build a lot of momentum before Shida returns for yet another rematch, and then who knows who wins that. Leyla fully turning after Statlander’s loss was pretty good, she and Velvet are going to have a good match for Beach Break, and then we’ll get a great one from Leyla VS Statlander.

Sting & Darby VS Acclaimed was a great main event, and the booking of having Darby out for the majority was a pretty good way to build both men’s toughness. A lot of the time, you get the out-of-commission wrestler running down the ramp to make a hot tag, but Darby’s tope off the stage was so much better. Darby & Sting stay undefeated, they’re going to contenders soon enough. And last but not least, the promos around the TNT title match. Sammy’s cue card response was good and all, but Cody’s promo is going to be the talk of the week for sure. He was walking that line of kayfabe and shoot again, sounding like a bragging Heel but claiming to be Face, only as Cody can.

And I do like that it’ll be a ladder match for the TNT Championship. It certainly gives the illusion that it can go either way, but I have a feeling Cody finds a way to win that borders on being Heel, but he’ll still act like he’s the Face. Then he’ll be ready to face the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match winner, that’ll be something that carries AEW into the Summer, and could even push Cody further into his Heel turn.

My Score: 8.8/10

AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Will Ospreay VS Ricochet!

Wait, are the fans throwing white streamers or is that… No, yeah, it’s toilet paper! Ospreay laughs at the fans basically calling Ricochet crap. Ricochet throws the toilet paper back! The bell rings and we’re on the clock. The fans fire up for Ospreay as he and Ricochet circle. The fans also sing, “F HIM UP, OSPREAY, F HIM UP!” Ricochet shrugs that off, he and Ospreay tie up, and then Ricochet rolls. Ospreay shoots in, waistlocks, but Ricochet switches. They go around, Ricochet gator rolls with Ospreay, then floats to a headlock. Ricochet wrenches, hammerlocks then headlocks again. Ospreay powers up and out, Ricochet runs him over, but Ospreay kips up!

The fans cheer and Ospreay smiles as he and Ricochet reset. They tie up, go around, and Ricochet wrenches to a wristlock. Ospreay rolls, wrenches and wristlocks, but Ricochet spins and wrenches to hammerlock. Ospreay reaches back, headlocks and hits a takeover. Ricochet rolls to a cover, TWO! Ospreay holds onto the headlock but Ricochet powers up and out. Ospreay runs Ricochet over, Ricochet bails out, and then Ospreay handsprings to fake Ricochet out! The fans cheer as Ospreay superhero lands out, and Ricochet is annoyed. Ospreay holds ropes open for Ricochet, but Ricochet goes around the way to step in on his own.

The fans boo Ricochet being a bad sport but Ricochet ignores that. Ospreay and Ricochet knuckle lock, then Ricochet kicks low! And CHOPS! Ricochet whips, Ospreay reverses, but Ricochet rolls off Ospreay’s back! Things keep moving, Ospreay avoids the handspring to then duck ‘n’ dodges and RANA! But Ricochet handsprings through! The fans fire up, and Ospreay arm-drags Ricochet down! The fans cheer while Ricochet endures the grind. Ricochet fights up and puts Ospreay on ropes. The ref counts, Ricochet and Ospreay slowly let g o, and Ricochet SLAPS Ospreay! Ospreay CHOPS Ricochet!

Ospreay takes a swing, Ricochet ducks under to roll back and RANA! But now Ospreay handsprings through! Ricochet dodges to waistlock but Ospreay bucks the O’Conner. Ricochet arm-drags Ospreay down, but Ospreay headscissors back! Ricochet pops free but Ospreay arm-drags! Ricochet headscissors, Ospreay pops free, and Ospreay handsprings, but Ricochet catches him! Ricochet then THROWS Ospreay into the Tree of Woe, and Ospreay falls down! The fans boo while Ospreay bails out, but Ricochet FOSBURY FLOPS! The fans boo but Ricochet takes the toilet paper to wipe himself, then he SMOTHERS Ospreay with it!

The fans boo that literally disgusting act of disrespect, but Collision goes picture in picture.

Ricochet taunts the fans, then drags Ospreay up. Ricochet puts Ospreay in, soaks up more heat, then KNEE-BOARD SENTONS! Ricochet swaggers to taunt the fans more, then he goes back to Ospreay. Cover, ONE!! Another cover, TWO! Ricochet taunts the fans more, then goes back for Ospreay. Ricochet stands Ospreay up to CHOP, and Ospreay goes to a corner. Ricochet RAMS into Ospreay, RAMS him again, then snapmares to UPPERCUT in the back! Cover, TWO! Ospreay stays in this but Ricochet drags him into a motorcycle stretch. Ospreay endures while Ricochet digs a knee into the back. Ospreay fights up, fights with elbows, then runs, but into a DROPKICK!

Ospreay is down in a daze but Ricochet has to shake out the stars in his own head. Ricochet covers, ONE! Ospreay then uses that one to flip off Ricochet. Ricochet RAMS Ospreay in the back! Ricochet then clamps on with a chinlock, and he digs his knee into Ospreay’s back. Ospreay endures, even as Ricochet JAMS Ospreay. Collision returns to single picture as the fans rally for Ospreay again. Ospreay fires up, fires hands, but Ricochet RAMS him into a corner. Ricochet runs up, RAMS into Ospreay, then goes to the apron. Ospreay takes a swing but Ricochet dodges and gets around him to GERMAN SUPLEX! Ospreay lands out!

Both men are down and the fans are thunderous! Ospreay and Ricochet both slowly sit up and the fans rally as hard as ever. Ricochet and Ospreay stare down, talk a bit of trash, then stand up. Ospreay draws a line in the sand and dares Ricochet to step up.

Ricochet steps right up, they stand toe to toe, literally! They start firing forearms! The fans cheer Ospreay, boo Ricochet, and Ricochet wobbles! But then Ricochet comes back with forearm after forearm! Ospreay wobbles, but he grins as he rises and roars! Ospreay fires a flurry on Ricochet, then ROCKS him! Ricochet flops over, Ospreay hauls him up! But Ricochet grabs at the ref! Ospreay kicks Ricochet’s arm away, but then Ricochet RAMS Ospreay into the ref! Ospreay gets tripped up and the fans boo more! Ospreay is confused as to what happened, but SPIRIT GUN hits the mark!! Cover, RICOCHET WINS!

Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Ospreay earns 0)

The One & Only got away with murder, but there’s nothing that can be done now! Ricochet has NINE points, will he be headed to Worlds End?

Adam Cole heads to the ring!

The fans cheer as the Panama City Playboy returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom, and yes, they join in for the “BOOM~!” and the “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY~!” Cole grabs a mic, but he keeps his eyes on the ramp. That’s because we all know who’s next. MJF makes his entrance, but with a handful of security guards in front of him first. And not even AEW security, that’s his own personal security. MJF grabs a mic and has them cut his music. The fans boo but MJF tells them, “If I wanted your help, I’d ask for it. Sit down and shut up.” The fans tell MJF to STFU, but MJF shrugs that off.

MJF tells Cole that MJF is frustrated. It’s because for the past few months, MJF has had to listen to Cole say MJF is Cole’s biggest enemy! If memory serves, and MJF’s memory always does because unlike the fans here, he isn’t a complete moron… Didn’t Cole turn on MJF? But then does Cole realize he has bigger enemies out there? Like spray tan, cracks in the floor, gusts of win, and maybe… a cavity. Because last MJF heard, Cole’s dentist isn’t seeing him anymore. Cole was already staring daggers into MJF, but now he’s pissed. MJF has Cole calm down, and he tells the fans to shut up so he can shoot straight.

When MJF was the longest-reigning and greatest AEW World Champion of all time, Cole was nothing more than MJF’s cute little sidekick. That ate Cole up inside. Cole wanted to be MJF. Cole wanted #TripleB. But the sad truth is, Cole had many opportunities to win the title before MJF got anywhere near it. It’s almost like when it comes to Cole being elite enough to become world champion, just like his “s*itty little ankle,” Cole blows it. MJF laughs at his own joke, and then tells the fans he is talking, it is not that complicated. But this is why MJF doesn’t buy the hogwash that Cole turned on MJF because MJF would turn on Cole first.

Cole turned because he, like all these shmucks, is jealous of MJF. And who can blame Cole? MJF is rich, handsome, funny, entertaining, and then look at Cole. For crying out loud, Cole used to be ADAM COLE BAYBAY. Now, he’s just a crack baby! Cole asks if MJF is done. Was that the last line? Because it felt like MJF practiced that for two weeks in front of a mirror. But MJF killed it, really. Cole could come back with childish comments to hurt MJF’s feelings, but he won’t. Cole could mention MJF has had two surgeries on that fake head of hair of his while only in his 20s, which is hilarious, but he won’t.

Cole could talk about how MJF pulled some strings to get his girlfriend hired, like the real politician he is, but Cole won’t go there. Cole could talk about how every single time MJF enters a room, everyone waits for him to leave because he is loud, obnoxious and annoying as hell. But Cole won’t go there. Because Cole is not like MJF. They are nothing alike. That is why the friendship was ruined. Because, MJF, the truth is you say Cole is a failure, but in virtually every wrestling company Cole has worked for, he is the longest-reigning champion in so many!

In this very building, Cole bled BUCKETS against Kyle O’Reilly, wanting to prove he was one of the best in the world, and that is exactly what he did! Does Cole have regrets? Sure. Are there things Cole wishes he could take back? Absolutely. But Cole does NOT regret turning on MJF. The only reason it drives MJF insane is because Cole beat MJF to it. That’s MJF 101: Get close to someone, then turn on them. It’s what MJF does. Cole just did it better than MJF, and MJF knows it.

But Cole has been thinking, trying to understand what’s going on in MJF’s head, and he finally figured it out. MJF is terrified of having anyone close to him, because he feels it is a weakness. That hit a chord? Because not only does MJF act like a child, he thinks like a child! MJF knows in his heart that he was going to be the one to turn on Cole first! DAMN RIGHT HE WAS!!! MJF realizes he let the cat out of the bag. MJF says congrats, Cole, he solved the mystery! A regular Scooby-Doo! Great job, Adam.

But you want the truth? Here it is. The fact of the matter is, last year at Worlds End, MJF had every intention on stabbing Cole in the back that night. Cole just got lucky. When #BetterThanYouBaybay started, MJF didn’t give a damn about Cole. Cole was nothing more than a pawn. But MJF will admit, he did eventually start to care. For the first time in MJF’s life, he cared about someone else. Fans mockingly go, “Aww…” But MJF says that is just when Cole became a liability. And since Cole’s “a fragile little freak,” him jumping off that ramp and exploding his ankle made him a distraction!

Distractions, liabilities, emotions, there are no room for those when all you should be concerned with is maintaining the world championship! But Cole doesn’t get it, does he? Last year was a fluke. Cole ain’t the Devil, he just beat the Devil to it. But this year, Worlds End, December 28th, the same show where Cole tried to end MJF’s world, MJF ENDS Cole!! MJF throws down the mic and the fans are torn. Cole smirks and says MJF ends things then? Well, how about Cole ends this? COLE DECKS MJF! The guards rush in, but Cole fights them off! MJF sends more but Cole SUPERKICSK! And SUPERKICKS! And SUPERKICKS!

But then MJF LOW BLOWS Cole! MJF tells the fans to shut up! MJF takes out the Dynamite Diamond Ring! But then The Kingdom rushes out here! MJF runs away from Matt Taven & Mike Bennett, but he vows this ends at Worlds End. We have one week left, is that the last week Cole has in AEW? Or will MJF finally lose the one thing he has left in that diamond ring?

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.

Lexy Nair is with the #BornAgainKristen and brings up her trying to make amends with Willow Nightingale last night, as well as making the save when Harley Cameron & Penelope Ford were beating Willow up. Kris says what she and Willow have to discuss is between them. But as far as her and Penelope go, they’ve got a lot of history, and if Ford wants a fight, Kris will give her a fight. Then speaking of history, Kris still has her eyes set on the TBS Championship, can she tells us more on that?

Kris says she looked back on 2024 and she had a downward spiral that started with losing that title. Maybe if she wins it back, Kris will right her wrongs. On that note, Mercedes Mone, you don’t have an opponent for Worlds End so here Kris is. Let her know when you’re ready for round two. Kris heads out, will she prove to everyone that she is still the Galaxy’s Greatest?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.

AEW returns and Lexy is now with Freshly Squeezed. In exactly one week, he will compete against three other men for the AEW World Championship. There are a lot of combustible elements at play, and Cassidy says yeah, we saw that on Dynamite. Jay White, Hangman Page and Cassidy can’t exactly have a conversation. So really, Cassidy wants them to listen. “Between now and Worlds End, Jon Moxley can run and hide. He can hide behind his goons, he can run away in a pickup truck. But when that bell rings in seven days, he has nowhere to go. He will be in the ring with us. Us three. And you both know that we need to remove Jon Moxley from the equation.

“We can. We’ve done it. And after that, us three, we can fight for the AEW World Championship and one of us will become the AEW World Champion. Just something to think about. See you guys on Dynamite.” Cassidy is ready to remove the Maniac from the throne, but will the Switchblade and Cowboy listen to reason?

Kris Statlander VS Penelope Ford!

As Kris just said, she’s calling out The CEO in hopes of one more TBS Championship match. But will the Superbad Girl be more like the Grinch for Kris this Christmas?

Kris then SHOTGUNS Ford off the apron! The fans fire up and Kris brings Ford up, to THROW into railing! Kris puts Ford in the ring, the fans fire up, but Ford kicks low. Winner: Kris Statlander, by pinfall

Ford gave Kris quite the fight, but Kris came out on top! Wait, here comes Mone! Kris did call the CEO out, so Santa Mone says, “Ho, ho, ho ho ho! New York Citaaaay~! Please say hello to your C E O! Kris, after the year I’ve been having, I was planning on taking Worlds End off. I was planning on going to the Ritz in Boston.” The fans boo Boston, but Mone says since it’s the holidays, Mone feels like being nice. She already beat Kris once anyway, so she’ll just beat her twice! At Worlds End, you see that money changes everything, because Mone is the greatest TBS Champion of all time!

The challenge has been accepted, and Mone is looking to be busy before the New Year. Will Kris make her regret it?

Big Boom AJ & Big Justice return to the ring.

They’re getting Christmas Collision ready to bring the BOOM, but out comes Chris Jericho, who is still ROH World Champion after overcoming Matt Cardona last night at Final Battle. And he has Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” Morrissey with him as he asks if AJ has a permit for being here tonight. Did they talk with Mayor DeBlasio? Because they certainly didn’t run this past Jericho. Do they know who he is? Big Justice says yeah, he knows! “You’re a JACKASS!” Jericho is taken aback, but the fans agree with Justice. The Bad Apple says this is why dumbass kids should be sitting and not heard. Jericho says yeah!

And if being a jackass means he’s the King of New York, then Jericho’s the biggest jackass! And besides, Jericho talks for everyone here saying we do not want AJ & Justice here! The fans boo, they disagree with Jericho. But Jericho says they don’t even have Costcos in New York! New Yorkers shop at bodegas. Fans are torn, because they kind of agree. Jericho says his favorite is the Walgreens a few blocks over in Flushing. And speaking of Flushing, that’s where AJ & Justice belong: in the toilet! This is the Hammerstein Ballroom, the House that Jericho built! The fans boo that, it’s the House that Hardcore built.

But Jericho says there’s no time for goofy gimmicks like BOOM~, or bandit masks, or scissoring! Scissor me, Bad Apple~! But then wait! The Acclaimed is here! Well, Anthony Bowens is, at least. Bowens pushes past The Learning Tree and he joins AJ & Justice in the ring. Bowens has the music cut, and he tells Jericho that he doesn’t get why Scissor King is catching strays, but you caught his attention. Jericho is trying to intimidate a man in a walking boot and an 11 year old child while spouting nonsense about being the King of New York. Why doesn’t Jericho do what he has asked so many others in the past: SHUT THE HELL UP!

The fans cheer but Big Bill says, “As the Learning Tree always says, when a man tries to silence another man, he’s probably afraid of the truth.” The fans do cheer Big Bill because he is from New York. Bowens says he has no idea what that means, Bill. But he does know we’re live on TNT, Christmas Collision, Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City! So Chris, why not walk your ass to this ring and get it whipped by the Scissor King?! Jericho says if Bowens wants him to do that, then not tonight. Jericho waves bye, but AJ says hold on, listen up. We know Jericho is running scared, but we know at some point, Bowens will get to bring the-

Bowens stops the Boom? Because he wants to scissor! AJ says okay, and they SCISSOR BOOM~! But is that true? Will Anthony Bowens be the one to tear down the Learning Tree and be a champion?

Backstage interview with The Vendetta.

Lexy is now with Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie, and they’ve got a hot streak going. Deonna’s message  last week was ominous, but who was it for? Taya says there are so many options. Everyone deserves a slice of The Vendetta. There’s Mercedes, Mariah, Toni Storm, even Lexy could get some, so watch your back. Speaking of Toni, she stumbles in and apologizes for interrupting. She just wants to say hi to everyone, hello. Oh, Deonna, a pleasure. Deonna says she knows who Toni is. R-Really? So cool! Taya says she’ll make a guess: Toni has a tattoo on her leg, a little duck with a knife through it.

Wow, how’d Taya know? Deonna says no no no, she is not doing this again. She does not get what sick crap Toni’s up to, but she is already done with it. So for Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street, Toni VS Taya! Taya says she’ll make Toni forget everything! Toni nervously thanks The Vendetta, and says this is a big opportunity to face someone like Taya. Toni leaves, Deonna and Taya sigh, and Lexy has no idea what to say. Is Toni’s mind unraveling before our eyes? Or is there still a bit of Timeless inside Toni Time?

Ospreay dares Claudio to do something, but Claudio simply leaves. Does this mean Ospreay’s ready to ride against the Death Riders with Darby? Or will we see a Miracle on 34th Street send Ospreay and Darby to Worlds End?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision here as the last one before Worlds End, and therefore a bit of a go-home in itself. While the continued feud of MJF and Cole has still been a bit clunky since they did the double turn, their faceoff did a good job addressing some of that. They got good digs at each other as always, and MJF snapping and revealing “the truth” was their big move to recover this story. We of course got a brawl, and good save by The Kingdom. It feels like MJF still finds a way to hold onto the diamond ring, but c’mon, how fitting is it for Cole to get a diamond.

Good bit with Toni Storm and The Vendetta, and Deonna’s reaction to Toni was great. Deonna is justified in thinking this is still an act from Toni, not a legitimate psychological problem, and Toni VS Taya will be good stuff. Good promo from Kris Statlander, good match from her and Penelope Ford, and of course a good win for Kris. Good promo from Mone to make Worlds End official, but as I’ve been saying, Mone is more likely to lose the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship as part of the big NJPW Tokyo Dome weekend. The irony is, Mina Shirakawa is her challenger and Mina shows up plenty in AEW, so I don’t know how that math is supposed to work.

Good promo from Mariah May as it also turned into a brawl with Thunder Rosa. As it stands, Rosa standing tall holding up the belt means she is NOT winning at Worlds End, but they could still give us a little more from Rosa and Mariah on Dynamite’s Christmas episode to turn the tables. Good promo from Julia Hart to respond to Jamie Hayter, they’ll have a good match. Good promo from Orange Cassidy to try and reason with Jay White and Hangman Page, but that’s all the more reason Moxley likely uses the challengers all against each other like he did on Wednesday. Though, it would be fun if they at least started the match all annihilating Moxley with their finishers, making us think it’ll work out in favor of “Team AEW.”

Good stuff with Big Boom AJ & Big Justice here tonight, both hyping up the show but also interacting with Jericho’s group and even Anthony Bowens. They’re adding some more foreshadowing to The Acclaimed breaking up, and I guess we’re supposed to see this as a positive move, Bowens feuding with Jericho. Unless Bowens is going to be the guy that dethrones Jericho for whatever ROH cable TV debut/return is planned, the Jericho Vortex strikes again. Bowens should be going for an AEW midcard title, but right now, those are all tied up what with the C2 going on and the International Championship being tied up in Worlds End and NJPW plans.

Speaking of the C2, great stuff with all the matches tonight. Shelton VS Garcia was great stuff, and while Garcia gets the win, they’re still giving us some set-up for a TNT Championship match of Garcia VS Shelton. Mark Briscoe of course made the save, but great surprise for Swerve to show up. Lashley VS Swerve for Worlds End just needs to be said, it already feels a given. All that brawling was also a good segue into Mark VS Mortos, and another great showing for Mortos, even in losing. But as Mark has already had all his matches and is at 9 points, Kyle doesn’t even need to win against Garcia, he just needs to draw so that Mark will be out, and Garcia with him.

While Ospreay VS Darby on Wednesday raised the bar, Ospreay VS Ricochet still had great stuff of its own. Plus, Ricochet is bringing out more of his Heel side what with using the ref, and Ricochet’s win puts the pressure on Ospreay for Christmas Dynamite. Now, no offense to Brody King, but I’m thinking Ospreay wins that to take one of the semifinal spots. Darby VS Claudio tonight was also great, but Darby doing his best Sting off the truss was not the best when he gets that whiplash on the floor. I really thought that match was going to be called for concussion protocol, but Darby’s weirdly indestructible.

Claudio still cheats this win so there’s more heat on the Death Riders and Darby is also behind the 8 ball. Ospreay making the save was good, we can definitely have another “Team AEW” VS Death Riders with Ospreay joining Darby and a couple others, but the way they did the order of matches, Claudio’s got a seemingly easy ride against Komander for Christmas. Though, how awesome would it be if Komander pulled off the spoiler? Or if they were really going to add some drama, they should create a situation where the Death Riders end up ringside, violating the Continental Rules of no cornermen and that disqualifies Claudio. Claudio misses out on the semifinals because of a technicality, sending Ospreay and maybe Ricochet to the semifinals.

My Score: 8.8/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!

Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!

Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!

And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Konosuke Takeshita & Brian Cage w/ Don Callis VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Mark Davis!

The teams sort out and Konosuke starts against Hobbs to give the DC fans a preview of Worlds End. Hobbs and Konosuke step up, talk trash, and then the forearms go back and forth! The fans cheer for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” and Hobbs ROCKS Konosuke! Hobbs even shouts “MEAT!” before he whips Konosuke. Konosuke ducks ‘n’ dodges but then so does Hobbs! Hobbs SPINE- NO, Konosuke flails free and Hobbs says it was that close. Konosuke says to cool off while he paces on the outside. Konosuke steps back into the ring, but he tags to Cage. The fans stay fired up for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” as Cage and Hobbs circle.

Hobbs and Cage DOUBLE LARIAT! Neither man falls, so they DOUBLE LARIAT again! And again! And again! Cage kicks low, shouts, “Who Betta Than Cage?” But then Hobbs CLOBBERS him! Hobbs even gets Konosuke to back down with a glare. Hobbs brings Cage up to fire forearms, then he tags Davis. Davis & Hobbs double whip and DOUBLE SHOULDER TACKLE! Konosuke ROCKS Hobbs, climbs up, and he rains down fists! The fans count but then Konosuke BITES Hobbs on the forehead! The ref counts, Konosuke lets off, and Hobbs sputters on the ropes. Cage ROCKS Hobbs again, Hobbs fires back, repeat! The fans rally for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Cage gets the edge, then whips, but Hobbs KICKS him away! Davis SENTONS but onto knees! Davis writhes, Cage tags Konosuke! POWER- NO, Davis stops the knee! Davis takes a swing but Konosuke ducks that, to BLUE THUNDER BOMB!! High stack, TWO!! Davis survives and Konosuke snarls, but Rampage goes picture in picture.

Konosuke rains down fists on Davis, but lets off as the ref reprimands. Konosuke tags Cage and Cage drags Davis up. Cage ROCKS Davis, whips him into a corner, and Davis hits buckles chest first! Cage RAMS into Davis, and RAMS in again, then CHOPS! Davis staggers but Cage whips him to ropes. Davis reverses, to dosido with Cage, only for Cage to CLOBBER Davis! Cage BOOTS Davis down, covers, but Hobbs breaks it! Cage gets mad and the ref reprimands Hobbs, then Cage soaks up heat from DC. Cage stalks Davis to a corner and fires haymakers! The ref reprimands but Cage DECKS Davis! Cage soaks up more heat while he flexes.

Holiday Bash returns to single picture while Davis crawls. Cage storms over but Davis fires hands! Davis CHOPS, CHOPS, but Cage JUMP KNEES! Cage whips Davis, Davis cartwheels and swings on Cage! Cage blocks, waistlocks, but Davis switches! BIG back suplex! The fans fire up as Davis rises and reaches out! Davis crawls, as does Cage, hot tags to Hobbs and Konosuke! Hobbs LARIATS Konosuke, LARIATS again, then runs up to LARIAT in a corner! Cage runs up but he’s send into Konosuke! Hobbs SANDWEICHES the Family! Hobbs whips, Cage reverses, but Hobbs comes back to CLOBBER him! Hobbs scoops Cage for a POWERSLAM!

The fans fire up but Konosuke runs up! Hobbs scoops him, too! POWERSLAM! Hobbs pumps up and the fans are with him! Hobbs stomps and shakes the ropes, then he goes back for Konosuke. Konosuke rises, Hobbs pops him up, but Konosuke ELBOWS him! Konosuke fires hands, then ROLLING ELBOWS! Hobbs staggers, Konosuke whips him, but Hobbs reverses! SPINEBUSTER! Cover, Davis blocks Cage, but Cage SHOVES Davis onto the cover! Cage then TOSSES Davis out, and he goes back for Hobbs. Hobbs TOSSES Cage! Hobbs grins as he has Konosuke alone. The straps come down, and Hobbs runs up, only for Konosuke to dodge!

Konosuke runs, Cage tags in, and Konosuke BOOTS Hobbs in the corner! Cage runs up to UPPERCUT, GAMANGIRI, and then GERMAN SUPLEX! Hobbs flounders, Cage hauls him up, PUMP HANDLE FACEBUSTER!! Cover, TWO!! Hobbs survives and Cage is furious! Cage tags Konosuke, the Family gets Hobbs up, and they double wrench to double whip. But Hobbs breaks the double lariat and Davis tags in! Hobbs DOUBLE LARIATS Cage & Konosuke! Davis runs up, they STEREO LARIAT! Konosuke BOOTS Davis and Cage waistlocks Hobbs. Konosuke runs but Davis GAMANGIRIS! Cage SUPERKICKS Davis!

Hobbs SNAP POWERSLAMS Cage! ALPHA ELBOW from Konosuke! Davis GERMAN SUPLEXES Konosuke! Cage fireman’s carries Davis, F5!! Cage runs up on Hobbs but Hobbs dodges! Hobbs LARIATS Cage and himself out of the ring! The fans fire up while Davis rises again! Konosuke also stands, and they run up! DOUBLE LARIATS! Davis GAMANGIRIS, Konosuke ends up in the corner! Davis goes side to side, SLIDING FOREARM! The fans roar as Davis hauls Konosuke up! Konosuke fights the lift, dodges Davis, and comes back, DOUBLE LARIATS finally take both men down! But not for long as they both roar to their feet!

Konosuke swings, and he SWATS Davis’ enzigiri! Konosuke then POWER DRIVE KNEES!! And then, RAGING FIRE!! Cover, Callis Family wins!

Winners: Konosuke Takeshita & Brian Cage, by pinfall

The Alpha slam dunks on Dunkzilla, and now he has 8 days to prepare for the Powerhouse! Will Konosuke hold onto his International Championship against Hobbs? Or will taking that title be the perfect payback?

Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.

Renee Paquette is with the Babe with the Power who is in action later tonight. But first, Renee wants to congratulate Willow to making it to the finals of the inaugural International Women’s Cup. She heads off to Tokyo very soon, how is she feeling about it? Willow is very excited. Inaugural WrestleDynasty, one step closer to the inaugural International Women’s Cup winner, and so it is mind boggling after how- Kris Statlander steps in. Kris tells Willow that there is a lot she should say, but for now, she’ll say good luck at the Tokyo Dome. #BornAgainKristen takes Willow by surprise, will Willow win tonight and have momentum going to the New Year?

Lio Rush & Action Andretti VS Myles Hawkins & Goldy!

The dysfunction in Top Flight Airlines led to The Bad Child & The Sight to See winning over Darius & Dante Martin, meaning they’re next up to face Private Party. Will this be little more than a tune-up for Lio & Action?

The teams sort out, Lio starts against Myles, but then Lio handspring kicks Goldy off the apron! Myles back suplexes but Lio lands out and then dodges! Myles falls out of the ring, Action handspring kicks him down! Lio DIVES onto Goldy! Action DIVES onto Myles! The fans fire up as Action puts Myles in fast. Lio joins Action and they mug Myles. Fast win for this furious duo, but “Oh my gosh, is that Private Party?” Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy make their way out here and DC fires up! The AEW World Tag Team Champions call for “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” Lio & Action get their shot in the near future, but wait! Dante & Darius make their way out here? Private Party looks to the tunnels, but Lio & Action CLOBBER them from behind! Dante, Darius & Leila don’t worry about the champs, they stare Lio & Action down. Lio & Action hold up the belts, then throw them at the Martins. The refs keep this from getting any more physical, but will Lio & Action take those belts from Quen & Zay soon enough?

Backstage interview with Harley Cameron.

Renee is now with the “multifaceted” Harley and notes she’s in action against Willow Nightingale tonight. Harley says yes, she IS multifaceted. She wants us to appreciate ALL her facets! Renee says yes, but she has yet to earn a singles win in AEW. Fine, ruin her fun. But then Harley asks if some person off camera is gonna say anything or just stand there. In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…

Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. Ford will watch Harley’s back and Harley will watch Ford’s. Wait, is something on Harley’s back? No, Harley… Just good luck. FEEL THE WRATH OF HARLEY CAMERON! No, she was being nice to you, Harley. Right, don’t feel the wrath of Harley Cameron. There is nothing on your back, Harley, stop scratching. Wait! W-What? Nothing, sorry. But will Harley be feeling Willow’s wrath instead?

Willow Nightingale VS Harley Cameron!

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two tie up. Harley pushes but Willow digs in her heels to SHOVE Harley down. Harley comes back, she and Willow reset and tie up again. Harley turns things around to SMACK Willow off the apron! Harley shoves Willow in, storms up on her, and stands her up for buckle bumps. Harley RAMS into Willow again and again, but Willow CLUBS Harley! Harley ROCKS Willow, whips her to ropes, and ELBOWS Willow down! Harley soaks up more cheers and jeers while Rampage goes to break.

Holiday Bash returns and Willow CANNONBALLS, but Harley dodges! Willow hits only buckles and she hobbles after Harley. Harley kicks, KNEES, and ENZIGIRIS! Harley roars, runs, and SHINING WIZARDS! Cover, TWO! The fans fire up but Harley grows frustrated. The fans rally while Harley waistlocks, but Willow switches! Harley kicks free to switch back, but Willow ELBOWS Harley back! Willow fireman’s carries, storms around, but Harley pops up! Harley fires down elbows, then victory rolls, TWO! Willow escapes and ROCKS Harley! Fireman’s carry, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO!

Harley survives but Willow roars! The fans fire up as the straps come down! Willow gut wrenches for the BABE WITH THE POWER BOMB!! Cover, Willow wins!

Winner: Willow Nightingale, by pinfall

Willow faced the wrath of Harley Cameron and she prevailed! But then PENELOPE FORD goes after Willow! The fans boo but Ford did say she’d back Harley up. They both beat up on Willow, but here comes Kris! Kris Statlander storms the ring, Harley & Ford run away! Willow is again surprised, but the fans want these two to “Hug It Out! Hug It Out!” Kris says no, she doesn’t feel like it’s the right time. Kris lets Willow have the ring, is this proof that the #BornAgainKristen isn’t just a nickname?

Team Triple J speaks backstage.

Standing alongside Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, as well as Jeff & Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt says, “They’ve asked us to look back and reflect on 2024, and Jeff, guys, what an incredible series of moments we’ve had in 2024.” The group agrees. From Wembley Stadium to Double J being in the Owen Hart Cup, some true career highlights that he will cherish forever. But Jarrett doesn’t like looking in the rearview mirror, he likes to look ahead. Next week, he’s not bringing resolutions, he’s bringing a game plan for 2025! What does the Last Outlaw have in store for himself and the team in the New Year?

AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Brody King VS Komander!

While the rest of Gold League stands at 6 points, these two men are struggling to keep up. Will the King of Death join that traffic jam at the front of the block? Or will the Commander of the Skies be a spoiler for Christmas?

The bell rings and we’re on the clock. Brody and Komander circle while the fans bark it up. There are fans who sing “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~” for Komander as the two tie up. But then Brody picks Komande up with both hands, and puts him on the to rope. Brody pats Komander on the shoulder, and the fans bark more. Komander hops down, not intimidated by Brody’s size. Brody CHOPS Komander off his feet, then refreshes the ring count. Brody drags Komander up, and whips him hard into railing! So hard, in fact, that Komander goes up and over! Brody hurries to haul Komander back up, and he suplexes Komander to the floor! Komander writhes more while Brody refreshes the count again. Komander tunes up the band, runs corner to corner, but Brody SLAPS him first! Brody runs but Komander dodges, Brody POSTS himself! Komander is on the apron and he runs up, to SHOTGUN Brody to the floor! Brody sputters, Komander climbs the corner, and the fans are thunderous! Komander springboards to ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Another direct hit and Komander feels so close to his first points in the C2!

Komander hurries to get in the ring, but then slides out to start a new ring count. Komander climbs again while Brody rises. Komander watches Brody slide in, then tightrope walks to CIELITO LINDO!! But that was on Brody’s back! Komander pushes Brody but that’s a lot of dead weight to push! Brody sits up but Komander KICKS him! Komander roars, the fans fire up, handspring- TORTURE RACK! Brody flips Komander around, GONZO BOMB!! Cover, Brody wins!!

Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)

If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.

Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.

And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.

My Score: 8.8/10
