HUGE win for Diamond Mine’s young tag team! They’re heading to Vengeance Day and the finals, will they be putting their names on that trophy’s plaque?

Backstage interview with Cora Jade.

After that hard fought match, Cora and Raquel are now a tag team, and they’ll be in the Women’s Dusty Cup in two weeks. Cora is excited to be teaming with Big Mami Cool, and they’re going to make a lot of noise. But then Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon say they will be winners. They have a lot to prove. Cora & Raquel have competition. But Raquel counters their Spanish with her Spanish. There can only be one tag team that wins, so Feroz & Leon better be ready. Only Raquel can call Cora that. Wait, what did they say? Well, at least Raquel has Cora’s back. Will they get the win over las Latinas lethal?

Amari Miller & Wendy Choo arrive.

And it seems Amari went with Wendy on that shopping spree. After all, Wendy has Mr. Stratton’s credit card. That was fun and all, but the card got cancelled partway. Wendy dumps it. But will Tiffany get revenge for Daddy here tonight?

She may be a brat, but she’s got skills. Will Tiffany make Daddy proud one way or another?

NXT shares Draco Anthony’s comments from last week.

A loss to Andre Chase is not how he expected his NXT in-ring debut to go. But then in walks Joe Gacy & Harland. Mr. Anthony shouldn’t be disappointed, he gave it his all out there. Keep your chin up, and just remember that you don’t have to do this alone. “Draco, I’m here to listen. Listen to not just your actions, but your words. Have a great night.” Wil

Backstage interview with Pete Dunne.

The Bruiserweight is making his return to action against Draco Anthony, but he has a Steel Cage match with Tony D’Angelo next week for Vengeance Day. Dunne says if there’s one thing we all know about Tony, it’s that he talks way too much. But it’s funny. Since Tony lost to Grimes, he’s gone quiet. Not even a post on social media. Well, it must be hard to tweet after getting his fingers smashed. Dunne promises Tony to finish this where it started: inside that steel cage! But then Draco walks over. Tony may not respect Dunne, but Draco does. It’ll be an honor to share the ring with him tonight. Whatever, mate. Dunne will still snap those fingers. Good luck.

Pete Dunne VS Draco Anthony!

Dunne keeps that cricket bat in hand as a reminder of what he’s willing to do! Will he make an example out of Draco? Or can the newest star redeem himself here tonight?

NXT goes picture in picture for the entrances, but the bell still rings. They tie up, go around, and Dunne wrenches to wristlock. Draco tries to fight free but Dunne wrenches him again. Draco spins, wrenches, and has the wristlock back. Draco spins around to shift the grip but Dunne slips through to get the armlock on Draco. Dunne drags Draco down, digs his knee into the shoulder, and he bends the arm from elbow to wrist! Dunne traps the arm in a hammerlock, steps over the other arm, and even chinbars Draco into the recliner cover. TWO, and Draco is free. The two reset, tie up with knuckle locks, and Dunne drops to trip Draco up.

Draco kicks Dunne away and the two reset again. They tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, Draco gets around to waistlock and headlock takeover. Dunne keeps his shoulders up, NXT returns to single picture, and we see Gacy & Harland watching from the perch. Draco grinds the headlock, Dunne fights up and fans rally. Dunne headlocks back, Draco powers up and out, then dodges Dunne to run Dunne over! Draco gets Dunne up in a facelock, suplexes, but Dunne throws knees. Draco keeps Dunne up for the SLAM! Fans rally and duel, but Draco stands on Dunne’s hands! Draco shrugs a la Dunne, but Dunne avoids the stomps!

Dunne kicks Draco down, and shows Draco how the STOMPS are done! Then BUZZSAW! Fans fire up as Dunne circles around Draco. Dunne hammerlocks the arm again, stands on Draco’s head and bends those fingers back! Draco endures, Dunne STOMPS his head! Fans chant, “Break His Fingers!” Dunne drags Draco up, wrenches, and bends the fingers more. Draco tries to fight free but Dunne isolates the arm! Dunne STOMPS the hammerlock! Draco gets to ropes, Dunne is on him again. Dunne wrenches, Draco fires forearms! Dunne DECKS Draco in return! Dunne then shrugs and clamps onto the arm again.

Dunne pulls the arm way back, twists the wrist, and even pulls on Draco’s ear. Fans rally and duel, Draco fights up, but Dunne CHOPS! Draco glares at Dunne so Dunne SLAPS and CHOPS him over and over! Draco still gets to his feet, and he LARIATS Dunne down! Fans fire up, Dunne goes to a corner, and Draco runs in to clothesline! Draco keeps moving, back elbow! Draco reels Dunne in, back suplex FACEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Dunne is still in this and Draco looks at Gacy & Harland. Gacy smiles, Draco runs in at Dunne in the corner. Dunne dodges the back elbow to GAMANGIRI! Draco goes down, Dunne drops KNEES On the arm!

Dunne gets Draco up, has the double wristlock, but Draco moves around. Draco whips Dunne away, gets under, BACK DROP! Dunne bails out, Draco pursues, but Dunne GAMANGIRIS him back in! But here comes Tony D’Angelo with a crowbar! Dunne dodges and POSTS Tony! Dunne DECKS Tony, gets in the ring and SNAP GERMANS Draco! Dunne pump handles for the BITTER END! Cover, Dunne wins!

Winner: Pete Dunne, by pinfall

Not even a distraction can stop the Bruiserweight! But Tony gets Dunne at the ropes with a sleeper! But Dunne pries free, and SNAPS Tony’s fingers! Dunne goes out of the ring to bring out trash can, lid and whatever else he can find! Dunne puts all of that in the ring, Tony doesn’t get it! Dunne even gets a TOOLBOX! Dunne spills the contents out in the ring then tells Tony, “You’re gonna need more than a crowbar at Vengeance Day! So how ’bout we take everything we can find, we attach it to that cage, and we have ourselves a WEAPONIZED Steel Cage match?!” Dunne just raised the stakes on Tony D, and he accepts! Will the Bruiserweight break the wise guy once and for all?

Zoey Stark sits with Io Shirai.

Stark says they need to have a serious conversation about the Women’s Dusty Cup. Raquel and Cora are a mismatched team, but guess what? So are Shirai & Stark. Now, Kacy & Kayden have amazing chemistry, Yulisa & Valentina are on the rise- So then why is Stark telling Shirai about this? Because Stark knows her. No she doesn’t! But Stark is sure Shirai wants those NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, that they lost without being pinned. Okay, that’s true. Stark’s knee is keeping her out, but they need to find someone who is hard hitting, willing to sacrifice, and is just as crazy as Shirai.

Shirai says that’s fair. She’s in. Awesome! And Shirai already knows who to ask. Really? Will she say who it is? Nope. C’mon! It was Stark’s idea, though! Will Shirai get a new partner just as evil and genius as she is?

Wendy Choo finds Dakota Kai going through her shopping spree haul!

Dakota says, “You might have a new wardrobe, but uh, all these clothes won’t but you victories in the ring.” What is Dakota’s problem? And did she take anything for her own?

LA Knight VS Sanga w/ Grayson Waller!

The Million Dollar Megastar wants after the 21st Century Success Story so bad, he’s going to take on Waller’s towering insurance policy head on! Will Sanga deny Knight his shot at Waller? Or will Waller have no choice but to face the consequences of his actions, YEAH?

NXT returns and Sanga makes his entrance, Waller swaggering around behind him. The fans boo, Sanga angrily shouts, “NAMASTE!” and the bell rings. Knight talks trash to Sanga while Waller talks trash to Knight, Knight dodges the haymaker to give haymakers, but Sanga blocks the whip to reverse it! Knight dodges in the corner, fires off hands, then runs, to ROCK Sanga with a forearm! Knight runs to ROCK Sanga again, then dropkicks! Sanga stays up to TOSS Knight into the corner for knees and stomps! Waller is the only one cheering as Sanga CLUBS Knight down. Sanga gets Knight up to DECK him!

Knight bails out, Waller talks more trash, and Sanga pursues Knight around the way. Sanga scoops Knight, but Knight slips out and POSTS Sanga! Waller is panicking as Knight gets in the ring. Sanga gets in, Knight hammers away on him! Knight fires kicks and haymakers, then runs, ducks the boot, and kicks, only for Sanga to TOSS him off the cravat! Sanga drops a BIG elbow, then covers. TWO and Knight is still in this. Sanga looms over Knight, drags him up, and RAMS him into a corner. Sanga runs in, into a knee! Knight throws clothesline after clothesline but Sanga stays up. Knight LEAPS but Sanga only wobbles!

Knight hurries to a corner and Waller shouts. Knight springboards to missile dropkick Sanga down! Cover, TWO and Knight goes flying! Waller takes a buckle pad off while the ref is busy with Knight. The ref sees Waller, Sanga choke grips Knight! Knight rakes eyes! Knight runs Waller off, then sends Sanga into bare buckle! JUMPING NECKBREAKER! Cover, Knight wins!

Winner: LA Knight

Waller’s sneaky tactics cost his guy! Waller gets in and fires off hands with Knight! Knight gets the edge and CLOBBERS Waller! Kick and B F T!! Knight gets away before Sanga gets back up, but will Waller keep his word and remove the restraining order?

Backstage interview with Duke Hudson.

A man who wants revenge on Duke is one Dante Chen. Duke expected Dante to call him out but uh, haven’t seen him anywhere. Turns out saying it and doing it is completely different. The Singaporean Warrior isn’t as tough as he thinks it is. Duke will say that Dante’s not here for a reason. There’s your scoop. And Duke wishes Indi & Persia some luck in their tag title match next week. That wink surely means something, but will Indi keep Persia from responding?

NXT returns with the NXT Championship Summit.

Wade Barrett is in the ring, already joined by Legado del Fantasma, with Santos Escobar sitting at the table. Wade introduces Santos as the #1 contender to the NXT Championship, and fans are torn between cheers and jeers. Now, welcome his opponent for next week at Vengeance Day, THE NXT Champion, Bron Breakker! Bron makes his way out, title on his shoulder and fans barking in support. Bron takes his seat at the table and Wade thanks them for their time. Wade directs the first question to the champion, Bron. What makes him so sure that next week, Bron will walk out still NXT Champion?

Bron says, “Look, I’ll keep this short and sweet, alright?” He already said he respects Escobar, but he’ll beat Escobar and there’s not a damn thing Escobar can do about it! Fans cheer that on. Bron says they both know how contract signing type deals go, so let’s just flip this table and start fighting right now! Escobar laughs and says he expects nothing less from “smoeone so new, so young, but so naive.” When Escobar says things happen on his time, what he really means is that he’s pulling all the strings, and has everything under control. Bron doesn’t even realize it! So while people like Paul Heyman are calling Bron the future, Escobar is already planning ways to end his career before it starts.

Oh, so Escobar wants to do something? Wait, is that Dolph Ziggler making his way out here?! What is the Show-Off doing in NXT?! No one can believe it, least of all Escobar and Bron! Ziggler takes Wade’s place at the table as fans chant his name. “What a night! NXT on SyFy, what a moment! The NXT Champion and the challenger, ready to throw down right here. What a moment. Until I showed up.” Breakker, congrats. He knows how to use Twitter, he owns a smart phone, Ziggler’s a big fan. Chase the clouds, Ziggler will hang on to his money and titles. Now, it seems Ziggler works Tuesdays now. Paid, thanks to Johnny Ace.

But apparently… Time is money and Ziggler has a plane to catch, so he has one thing to say to Bron. “Who the hell are you?” Who is Bron? He’s the NXT Champion, the reason Ziggler’s even down here! Bron will handle Ziggler after he handles Escobar. Wow, that is an amateur hour move. That’s something Ziggler would do, but Bron’s not him. Ziggler could list his accolades and it’d take up the rest of the show. But Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, Mr. Money in the Bank, Sole Survivor, World Heavyweight Champion. Ziggler is aware that every hundred matches or so, 99 don’t go his way. But we all know what Ziggler can do any day of the week.

Fans chant “Steal The Show!” and Ziggler says, “All those accolades I have, and yet… One title I do not. The NXT Championship.” Fans want a “Triple Threat!” but Ziggler says it doesn’t matter what the fans say. Ziggler doesn’t have to be better than Bron, which he is, or even smarter, which he is. He just has to be in Bron’s head and- TOMMASO CIAMPA makes his way out! “Damn, man. Dolph Ziggler in an NXT ring! Ain’t that something?” Fans are hoping for a Fatal 4 Way as Ciampa copies Ziggler saying, “What a moment.” But Ciampa will be honest here. Ziggler as NXT Champion is a hard pass from Ciampa.

Ciampa pulls up a chair right next to Ziggler, and says, “Listen, kid. Can I call you ‘kid?’ I’ll call you ‘kid.’ I love your spirit, but if you’re gonna walk into my home-” Ciampa stops this right here, asking what the hell is going on! First, Ciampa and Bron play frenemies and now Ciampa wants the title again? And then Ziggler, what is he even doing here? He doesn’t go here! He’s upset over some mean tweets? Now this is what’s happening: once Escobar becomes the NEW NXT Champion, he’ll handle Ziggler, and he’ll handle Ciampa. Ciampa tells homeboy that if he interrupts again, he ain’t making it to Vengeance Day, comprende?!

And as for Bron, Ciampa says once he’s dealt with all this, Ciampa’s next in line. Unless Mr. Ziggler has a problem. Ziggler says Ciampa calls NXT his home. But the same few hundred Florida people come out and clap like seals week in and week out, year after year, no matter what. And yet Ciampa thinks this is his home? When does it end? When does the helmet and the elbow pad come off? Ciampa BOOTS Ziggler down! Then chases him out of the ring to throw hands! They brawl to the ramp, Mendoza, Wilde & Escobar jump Bron! Legado mugs Bron, Ciampa fights Ziggler all the way to the back!

Mendoza & Wilde get Born up, but he fights them off, all while Escobar is gloating! Escobar sees he’s lost his pawns again, and fans are barking! Bron kicks Escobar, reels him in, but Legado return to save Escobar! DOUBLE BUZZSAW! They get Bron back up, DOUBLE SPINEBUSTER through the table! Bron is down, and Escobar says, “Everything happens on my time. And this? This is my time! See you next week, young champion.” The message was sent, but it had to be done by Escobar’s henchmen. Will Escobar be able to win that title when he has to do it himself?

Kay Lee Ray speaks.

“Mandy, you could’ve saved yourself a lot of trouble just giving me the match when I asked. But now I’m gonna make you suffer. Don’t worry, this’ll all be finished when I take my NXT Women’s Championship. I’ll see you in a little bit.” Is the Scary Queen of Scots only going to get scarier tonight?

Sanga and Waller head out.

Waller tells NXT Media that they saw what happened. Knight showed his true colors! He got lucky, but he’s a loser because he broke the restraining order. And Vengeance Day is fitting, because Waller is gonna get his vengeance. So, is that a match? NO! Knight’s getting arrested! In front of the entire world. He’s going to jail, YEAH! Karma is a BITCH.

Sarray VS Dakota Kai!

After being insulted and threatened by #CobraKai, the Warrior of the Sun is going to use all her power to put Dakota in her place! Will Sarray shine bright against Dakota’s darkness? Or will the sun set already on Sarray’s return?

NXT goes picture in picture for the entrances and the bell rings. Sarray offers a handshake, Dakota talks to herself, and the two approach. Dakota slaps the handshake away, so the two circle. They tie up, go around, and Dakota pulls hair to put Sarray in a corner. The ref counts, Dakota lets off at 4, but she tucked Sarray’s hair into buckles! Sarray gets free, they circle again, and they tie up. Sarray wrenches an arm to a wristlock, keeps Dakota from ropes, but Dakota rolls and handsprings up to wrench back. Sarray rolls, wrenches, hammerlocks, but Dakota spins around to get behind Sarray. Dakota bumps Sarray off buckles then digs her boots in.

Dakota lets off as the ref counts to snapmare Sarray down. Dakota uses a headscissor necklock to bring Sarray down, and even gets an arm for an inverted triangle hold! Sarray bridges back to make it a cover, TWO! Dakota BOOTS Sarray down, covers, Sarray goes Matrix to slip out! Dakota throws Sarray down as NXT returns to single picture. Things speed up, Sarray rolls Dakota up, TWO! Into a HALF CRAB! Dakota crawls to get the ropebreak! Sarray KNEES Dakota down, then runs the ropes. Dakota dodges the dropkick to BOOT Sarray down! Dakota bumps Sarray off buckles, goes side to side, BOOT WASH!

Dakota keeps going, another BOOT WASH! Dakota goes again, a third BOOT WASH! Dakota drags Sarray back, covers, TWO! Dakota laughs as Sarray stays in this. Sarray grows frustrated and Dakota scrambles away.

Sarray storms after Dakota, but Dakota SCORPION KICKS! Sarray stays up, SCORPION KICK again! Then a dragon sleeper, TWISTING DDT! Cover, TWO! Dakota is growing frustrated and she’s talking to herself again. Sarray drags herself to a corner, Dakota stalks behind her. Fans rally up, Dakota drags Sarray up and whips her to a corner. Sarray goes up and up, sunset flips, TWO! Sarray Oklahoma Rolls! TWO, Dakota has the cradle, TWO! Sarray has the sunset again, TWO! Dakota has a prawn hold, TWO!! Sarray escapes, fans fire up, but Dakota BOOTS Sarray again! Dakota runs Around the World, but Sarray dodges!

Sarray SOBATS Dakota and she’s on the ropes! Sarray runs, SUNRAY DROPKICK! Sarray gets Dakota up, SUN PLEX! Cover, Sarray wins!

Winner: Sarray, by pinfall

Dakota’s doom and gloom couldn’t stop Sarray! Will the Warrior of the Sun shine brighter than ever before after this big win?

Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams hang out at the Cut Wiz barber shop.

Trick wants their boy, Josh, to fix up Melo’s mustache. He thinks he has a date with OllieJayy this week. C’mon, man, you know this is date number three. Oh? Well alright. But is Melo ready to defend his title? C’mon, Josh. Cameron Grimes stepped up, he’s gonna get stepped on. Trick isn’t so sure. He’s been checking Twitter, and people think Grimes stands a chance. What? No way! Not “To the Moon” guy. The one guy in the corner thinks Grimes has a chance. Who’s friend is this? Trick thought he was with Melo. But Melo’s going to check Grimes’ wiki. Two years in NXT, and what has he done? No accolades!

Richest man in NXT? His value gonna shot getting hit with the Melo Shot. Melo is Breakout Tournament winner. Ch’yeah! Melo is North American Champion! Ch’yeah! Cruiserweight Unifier! Ch’yeah! And on top of all that, his team won WarGames! YES, SIR! They did that, but Trick says this rise has been meteoric. Grimes has won matches, but none like this. Grimes is talented in the past. Melo is a top talent. No one was talking about Grimes before this. You do business with the A Champ, you become relevant. That’s just a fact: Melo does numbers. And at Vengeance Day, that’s all it is, and that’s all it’s gonna be! Ready for the haircut? Ch’yeah!

Will Melo be looking good with a title win on Vengeance Day? Or is the North American title finally going to the moon?

Indi Hartwell talks with someone on the phone.

She says she misses them more. Tonight, when she gest home, bubble bath together. Laters. Persia walks in and Indi welcomes her as future NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. Persia asks who that was on the phone. Was it Duke? No! It was Dexter, duh. Well, Duke wished Indi good luck but not Persia. Indi knew he was trouble. Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne walk in, saying that going into the biggest match of their career next week and they’re having a toxic meltdown. Stop trying to mess with them. Indi & Persia are best friends. They’ve won against Toxic Attraction before, they’ll win again.

Gigi & Jacy roll their eyes, but Persia says they can go console Mandy after she’s lost her match, same as she will for them. Haha, good one. But here’s a better one: When Indi & Persia lose, who’s gonna console Indi? Dexter or Duke? Gigi has a photo of them in the past! Best friends don’t tell each other everything, do they? Persia DECKS Gigi and a brawl is on! Security and refs rush in to stop this, but it’s only a matter of time! Will Indi & Persia get the gold? Or will this weird love rectangle cause dysfunction between them?

NXT hears from Nikkita Lyons.

“You hear the phrase all the time, ‘Jack of all trades but a master of none.'” That doesn’t apply to her. She can sing and kick ass. Boxing, martial arts, nun chucks, and of course, wrestling. Life on the road made her grow up quick. She had to learn how to defend herself. Eventually, she was the one picking fights cuz she knew she could finish them. You could look at her and make assumptions, but you come at her with weak ass shit, watch out for this Lyons’ roar. Will Nikkita Lyons rock NXT when she arrives?

Brooks Jensen talks with Josh Briggs.

Brooks isn’t sure he can do this. Briggs tells him to rip the bandage off and ask Kayden out. She’s right over there. Brooks almost chickens out but Briggs makes him move. Brooks says hey, Kayden gives him a hug. Brooks asks them if they could all hang out for Valentine’s Day. Yeah, they’re always such fun. Maybe they can do something? More the merrier. See you then! Text them the details later. The ladies leave and Briggs asks Brooks what happened! He doesn’t know! He, she, we, it all just felt the same! But wait. Briggs can take Kacy somewhere, Brooks gets alone time with Kayden. The perfect plan! Here, here’s some money.

Uh, this is just $8, and kinda wet… Movies are like $20 apiece now. Briggs gives Brooks a push and Brooks says he’s not made of money. Can he at least figure out how to talk to Kayden? Or will he crash ‘n’ burn worse than ever?

This is the moment of truth! Wes Lee & Nash Carter want to repeat not just as finalists but as Dusty Cup winners! However, their opponents have been busting brackets every round! Will Malik & Edris make sure no one ever overlooks them again? Or is this where the Cinderella story ends?

The teams sort out, Malik starts against Lee. Fans are fired up for the hometown kid as he circles with Lee. They tie up, Malik powers Lee to a corner. NXT hears from Cameron Grimes.

“I know I come from humble beginnings. My time in NXT has been a roller coaster ride. No one has taken more body blows, had to adapt, and has grown more in NXT more than me. But through everything, I came out the other side a self-made man.” The big house, the fancy cars, and let’s not forget all that money. He has everything but what he got in the business for. He’d trade it all away and come back to the trailer park if it meant he’d walk through the front door to see a title on the mantle. Next week is the chance. Melo, everyone knows you’re on the fast track. But there are two ways a career can go in this business.

2022 is still gonna be Grimes’ year. The rocket boosters are ready, the fuel tanks are filled, and the coordinates are placed. Grimes has a one way ticket TO~ THE~ MOON~! Will the Carolina Cash Money Caveman finally achieve liftoff here in NXT?

Dakota Kai mutters to herself backstage.

She needs help, and Wendy Choo finds her. “Not as easy as it looks, is it?” Wendy walks away, but will Dakota’s voices in her head give her ideas of how to get back up?

NXT Women’s Championship: Mandy Rose VS Kay Lee Ray!

Toxic Attraction’s leader may have glossed over some of the details, but it is true that she found a way to win and to keep this title around her waist. But the Scary Queen of Scots set a record for longest reigning women’s champion in the modern era! Will KLR get started on her second Forever Champion Era? Or does Mandy find yet another way to win and keep this title?

As Mandy makes her way to gorilla with Gigi & Jacy, Indi & Persia jump them from behind! Talk about vengeance, Persia & Indi are making sure Mandy doesn’t have her minions ringside! Referees rush back in, they tell Mandy she has to have her match. Mandy doesn’t want to leave her team behind but she has no choice! Toxic Attraction goes into retreat as KLR & Shirai stand tall! Is this the kindred spirit Shirai talked about? Is Toxic Attraction running out of time as champions?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode here, especially as a go-home to Vengeance Day next week. Great Dusty Cup matches here tonight. Creed Brothers VS GYV got the fans fired up for this episode, and I should’ve figured Creed Brothers would win. GYV have really only ever been jobbers to the stars since moving over to NXT prime, and it seems NXT 2.0 is making the Creed Brothers into stars. MSK VS Malik & Edris was also really good, but I did figure MSK would win. Pitting MSK making history against Creed Brothers as rising stars is definitely how they were going to book this, and therefore makes the match hard to call. As a fan, I’m voting for MSK.

Amari Miller sticking to whoever had the credit card was a pretty good character bit, as was Wendy just trashing the card since it got canceled. Tiffany probably should’ve known that, though, cuz who would’ve canceled the card other than Daddy Stratton? Tiffany VS Wendy was a good match, but it was quite the surprise that Tiffany won. I suppose Wendy losing does set up things with Dakota Kai in what I hope is a rivalry, not a dysfunctional team. Dakota and Sarray have a great match, Sarray gets a great win, and Sarray is getting back on that slow burn to the singles title.

Cora, Raquel, Yulisa and Valentina have a good promo segment, though I suppose the punchline of “What’d she call Cora?” is why there were no subtitles. Cuz they have those at the ready for Imperium instantly, so they could have it for this promo here. Gacy & Harland look to be recruiting, which makes sense to me. Not sure if Draco Anthony is the guy, but maybe Draco becomes their next feud. Draco gives Dunne a real good match, but Dunne wins and now gives us NXT’s version of the Ambrose Asylum with Tony D’Angelo. Honestly, a Street Fight or something like that should’ve just been how they hyped this to begin with, but I suppose this is fine.

We got a good vignette from Nikkita Lyons, she seems pretty comfortable already in this character. Duke Hudson is stirring up trouble with Indi & Persia, so that’s a good way of using the story blending to its fullest. Melo & Trick have a good on-location promo, as does Grimes. Their title match is going to be awesome stuff, but I have a feeling Melo wins and we could be seeing Grimes moving up to RawDown at some point. The story of Brooks’ romantic struggles continues, but I don’t know where they’re going with it. I don’t see it being Brooks “getting the girl,” but I don’t like the idea of another guy coming in and swooping Kayden up. That’d mean that guy fights Brooks and it just feels cliché.

Knight VS Sanga was good, and I like that Waller cost Sanga this match with that buckle pad removal. But as I figured, Waller is not giving Knight a match, he’s just doubling down on his retraining order. Knight already feels like a mishmash of The Rock, Hogan and Stone Cold, seems he’s gonna get that Stone Cold treatment of being arrested on TV. That Championship Summit was great stuff, especially considering the surprise appearance of Dolph Ziggler. Fans were eager for more than just 1v1, but Triple Threats and Fatal 4 Ways are too big for just Vengeance Day. Ciampa VS Ziggler is going to be a great match, as will Bron VS Escobar next week.

And of course, all the things Toxic Attraction was up to tonight were pretty well done. Gigi & Jacy have a good promo with Indi & Persia, I like that Indi & Persia did their best to keep Toxic Attraction from helping Mandy. Mandy and KLR have good promos to hype up the main event, and then the main event was really good stuff, even with the overbooked finish. I thought Shirai was going to choose Sarray as her partner, but something makes sense about Shirai & KLR. They’ve been teaming with each other on and off since WarGames, I have a feeling they’re going to take the Women’s Dusty Cup to then go after Gigi & Jacy and those tag titles.

KLR making history as being the first NXT UK Women’s Champion to become NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion would be a great distinction for her, but I still kinda hope she gets that singles title. KLR becoming NXT’s first Women’s Triple Crown would be great for her, as well as for the NXT 2.0 Era. If the 2.0 Era is the one that gives us a stand alone achievement like that, I think it’ll be able to shrug off a lot of the criticisms fans have had for it.

My Score: 8.8/10

The fans are with him as he waistlocks and TSUTEN- NO, Kanemaru grabs the ref! Kanemaru mule kicks the leg! Then he KICKS the other leg! Then he trips Wato to step through, FIGURE FOUR!! Wato endures, the fans rally as hard as they can, but Kanemaru puts on the pressure! Wato reaches out but he’s so far away! Wato pushes against the main leg, he grabs at the ref, but that won’t save him!

Wait, what is SHO doing here?! The Murder Machine is in B Block, but the House of Torture boys will always help each other cheat! The ref keeps Sho back, but Yujiro Takahashi is also here! Tokyo Pimp slides the whiskey bottle to Kanemaru! Kanemaru CLUBS away on Wato’s leg with that bottle!! The fans boo as Wato can only suffer! Kanemaru puts even more pressure on the hold, and WATO TAPS!! Kanemaru wins!!

Winner: Yoshinobu Kanemaru, by submission (gains 2 points; Wato earns 0)

Kanemaru’s game plan to go after the legs was working well enough, he didn’t need the House’s help! But perhaps Kanemaru wanted to stoop to these lows in order to win! And now Sho & Yujiro help stomp away on Wato! But here comes Yoh! Direct Drive saves his tag partner and runs off The House! He even gets a chair! Yoh wants them to man up, but that’s not happening. But now, with Hiromu Takahashi having beat Wato and issuing the tag title challenge, and now Kanemaru winning tonight… Could we really be seeing such an odd couple as Timebomb & Heel Master going for the tag titles?

The Mighty Don’t Kneel, they don’t give up, and perhaps, they are still in this race! Will the Japanese Young Punk fight until the very end? Or will was this the last win he’ll get in BOSJ 32?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 A Block: Hiromu Takahashi VS Robbie X!

It is apropos that the most decorated man, the FOUR-TIME BOSJ winner, is in the main event of the ninth and final round. If he wins, he moves on to potentially grabbing number five! But if he loses, it will be Kosei Fujita’s time to shine. Will Robbie take Hiromu to the X-treme? Or will the Ticking Timebomb still have time on the clock?

Cover, ROBBIE WINS!?!

Winner: Robbie X, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Connors earns 0)

So what if he was the underdog? So what if he’s last place? So what if he replaced Bushi in the block? Robbie X just beat the most decorated Super Junior alive today! And that means the winner of A Block is KOSEI FUJITA! Hiromu is furious, but Fujita walks back out here to have the spotlight! Fujita and Hiromu cross paths, and Hiromu pats Fujita on the shoulder as he exits. Fujita goes to the ring, and Robbie invites him in given Robbie won the main event. Robbie tells Fujita to get this in his little brain: Robbie beat Fujita, he beat Hiromu, so… If Fujita wins this whole thing and beats El Desperado, do what is right!

Robbie wants the first championship match with Fujita! The fans like that, and Fujita nods in agreement. Robbie leaves, will Mr. X have his chance at gold? As for Fujita, he grabs the mic to say, “Sorry to those of you who may have wanted to hear more from Robbie X. But if I’m in the position of naming challengers, then I will give him the first title shot.” The fans applaud, and Fujita continues on. “I won this A Block.” The fans applaud that, too, and Fujita says he’ll take “all the hope, hate and then I’ll win. That’s all!” The Japanese Young Punk keeps it short and sweet, but will the Ichiban Sweet Boy become the Best of the Super Juniors?

Here are the FINAL A Block standings!

Kosei Fujita: 5-4, 10 points [FINALIST]
Hiromu Takahashi: 5-4, 10 points [ELIMINATED]
Master Wato: 5-4, 10 points [ELIMINATED]
Francesco Akira: 5-4, 10 points [ELIMINATED]
Clark Connors: 5-4, 10 points [ELIMINATED]
KUSHIDA: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Ninja Mack: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Dragon Dia: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Yoshinobu Kanemaru: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Robbie X: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]

My Thoughts:

An awesome start to the ninth round, and it is always fun to have these final playoff scenarios sort out. Mack VS Dia was great, even for not affecting anything, and I really do hope these two guys become the next big thing. I figured Kanemaru would screw Wato over with help from Sho & Yujiro, and this definitely feeds into the tag title story that involves Hiromu. Fujita overcoming Connors and Robbie X getting the upset on Hiromu was all awesome stuff, and I like the gentlemen’s agreement that Robbie will be the lineal contender should Fujita win the title. B Block is going to be awesome, I’m sure, and there are all sorts of great choices for Fujita’s opponent.

My Score: 9.1/10

Ethan and Ricky grab at each other, the ref counts, and Ethan HOTSHOTS Ricky! Ricky sputters, Ethan is on him, TWISTED GRIN!!! Cover, ETHAN WINS!

Winner: Ethan Page, by pinfall (NEW NXT North American Champion)

No one can believe it, but this Ego Maniac has gold again. Ethan joins the exclusive elite who have had both the NXT Championship & NXT North American Championship in their careers, but this win comes with strings attached. Ethan must defend this title at Worlds Collide on June 7th, who will it be that steps to Ethan in LA?

Backstage interview with The Fatal Influence.

Sarah Schreiber is with Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & the returning Jazmyn Nyx. The arguing at Battleground between Fallon and Jacy opened the way to opportunity as now Jacy is facing Stephanie Vaquer for the NXT Women’s Championship in tonight’s main event. Jacy says, “We said we would get it done, that we would get an NXT Women’s Championship match. We just didn’t say how we were gonna get it done. And clearly, all it took was me smacking the taste out of Stephanie’s mouth to get it.” Fallon says personally, it should’ve been her competing, because the last time Jacy stepped in the ring with Stephanie, she lost.

Jacy smiles and says that tonight, she brings gold back to the Fatal Influence since Fallon failed against who? Oh, right, Stephanie! But if Fallon wants to be in Jacy’s corner, fine. If not, also fine. Jacy heads out, Jazmyn is already back in the middle of the squabbling, but will NXT once again be under the Influence? Or will the Toxic Rockstar have a meltdown against La Primera?

Josh Briggs & Yoshiki Inamura are backstage.

The Bullhead Brawler goes over how it was just chair shot after chair shot at Battleground. But didn’t Inamura go back to Japan? He did, but then he came back to NXT for Briggs. Well, that’s such a great surprise. And he has Inamura’s vest! Inamura thanks Briggs, and says he couldn’t leave Briggs like that. There are still things to accomplish. Yes, like becoming NXT Tag Team Champions. Inamura agrees there, and more. Oh, got it! They take out The Culling and set their sights on the tag titles! Yes, and… even bigger! Briggs is intrigued, and says, “Hell yeah.” Could we see Briggs & Inamura start on a Two Man Power Trip?

Mike Santana VS Tavion Heights w/ No Quarter Catch Crew!

Winner: Mike Santana, by pinfall

Santana kept it 100 and he got the big win! The fans respect Santana, and Santana shows respect to Tavion. Dempsey isn’t so sure about this, but will he just have to get in the ring with Santana to learn what he’s all about?

The High Ryze speaks.

Wes Lee says, “Now y’all know I’ve been a part of something before. Brothers all connected, chasing the same dream, but… Is it possible for that connection to last if the dream’s changed? Not for long. See, the truth is, you can really only trust in yourself. That is, until something real comes along. Tyson Dupont, Tyriek Igwe, brute force and brilliant minds that mirror my conventions.” Tyson says they ain’t chasing greatness, they’re building it brick by brick. Tyriek says everyone wants to live the lifestyle, but the only way you get there is with loyalty. Not to a brand, but to a bond.

Wes says that is how you shatter the glass ceiling. Not by selling out but by buying in, and holding it down with the ones that stand with you. They didn’t fit the mold, so they made their own. And so long as they do that and stay true to the cause, there will only be one outcome: they rise. Will Wes and his new crew soon stand tall over NXT, Evolve, and ALL of the WWE?

Andre Chase speaks with Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon.

Mr. Chase tells his students to stop being overzealous. They’re demanding matches, jumping into action without a plan, and that’s how they got beat up by OTM. Kale says that sucked. Chase agrees. They need to when to seize the moment, but also when to fall back. They need to know when to take risks, but when- Uriah says, “So what you’re saying is that we need to take more risks.” Kale says they can definitely do that. No, that’s not- But Kale & Uriah spot Ava. They want to talk, she says she has a minute so get to it. Mr. Chase wants the boys to take risks and seize the moment, so they wanna do just that!

Ava says okay, she was just looking over the card for next week, and there is still a spot open. They can be in action against… Dark State. Uh oh. D-Dark State? But that’s four of them and two of Chase U… Well, no, it’ll be a Six Man Tag. Take those risks and have fun! Mr. Chase can’t believe what he just got dragged into… Kale says at least they all get to team up. Chase says they’re not a team! What will it take for Mr. Chase to reach these kids?

Luca Crusifino finds Tony D’Angelo backstage.

The Consigliere starts to ask about Battleground, but The Don tells him to sit down. Luca sits at the table, and Tony says we all thought Stacks clipped Luca in the desert. Then Luca shows up in Tampa like he was on vacation, and he just stares Tony down. Luca says he had no idea what to do. Tony doesn’t wanna hear excuses, but Luca says on his mother’s eyes, Stacks drove Luca further out into that desert and just left him there. Luca was just as shocked. Oh, just left him, huh? Then why didn’t he reach out? Well, Rizzo was in hiding, Stacks attacks Tony at the safehouse, and if Luca reached out, he might’ve put them all at risk.

Tony sighs, thinks on it, and says this still doesn’t smell right. Luca says Rizzo’s number was disconnected. After seeing everything going on, Luca had to come back. Tony says okay, so Luca comes back at Battleground, but he costs Tony the match? That was not Luca’s intent! Then what was? No, save it. Tony doesn’t know who to trust right now. Luca says he can be trusted. Is that true? Or is there more than meets the eye to this?

Trick Williams is here!

The fans fire up for the NEW TNA World Champion, and they chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK! WHOOP DAT TRICK!” Trick struts to the ring and grabs the mic to cut his music. “Reporting to you live, the sexiest and most entertaining superstar alive, Hollywood Trick has finally arrived!” Trick says he is making history this time! The fans chant “TRICK N A!” Trick says for the first time ever, and NXT superstar is holding the TNA gold! But add to that: TWO-TIME NXT Champion, ONE-TIME North American Champion, Iron Survivor Winner, let’s talk about it! Nah, forget that! Don’t you start clapping now!

If memory serves, a lot of the ones clapping were also waving their hands from side to side and playing singalong with #AverageJoe! If you were in that, he has one thing to say to you: “Don’t you feel stupid?” The fans are torn, but Trick grins as the “Average Joe!” chant starts. And speaking of average and stupid, why is everyone trying to figure out where’s the line between NXT and TNA? TNA and NXT? DAMMIT, don’t you cross Trick Williams cuz he IS the line! The fans chant “He’s The Line!” Trick says since NXT didn’t appreciate him like they should, he gonna go to TNA, wear this gold nice and proud. It look good, don’t it?

Check who else held this gold before: Kurt Angle; Drew McIntyre; Bully Ray Dudley; AJ Styles! But none of them compare to Trick Williams! Especially not Joe Hendry. So here’s how it goes: He is turning his back on the people cuz they turned their back on him. Yes, you did! You sang along! He remembers! Trick is gonna go to TNA, talk to management, all them who work for Trick now, and they gonna make some changes. Starting with the name! IT is now… TRICK’N A! But wait! Santana makes his way out here! The Standard says, “Big Trick Willy, huh?! The main man on the block, right?” Trick says let’s talk about it.

Santana says hey, he personally wanted to come out here and give him props for Sunday. Trick says he’ll say this. Santana just made his first mistake by interrupting his champion. Oh, first and foremost, let’s get this straight: Trick is NOT Santana’s champion. Second, Trick made a terrible first impression by coming out here as TNA’s champion and trying to tear down TNA. But guess what? TNA been killin’ the game! TNA been gainin’ momentum day after day! And the last thing that Santana is gonna do is sit back and as the man that carries the flag and watch someone else tear it down after what Santana and that TNA locker room have done to build it up!

The fans cheer, and Santana tells Trick, that ain’t happening. Trick tells Santana that obviously, he doesn’t get how things work. But that’s because Santana has never been THE TNA World Champion. So he’ll help Santana out. When you ARE the top champion of your brand, once you have carried that weight, only then can you call the shots! Santana says Trick makes him laugh. But guess what? People like Trick also piss Santana off. Let’s remind Trick, as he obviously needs a refresher… Santana is a loud ‘n’ proud Boricua from the Bronx, baby! The fans cheer that! Santana has seen guys like Trick come and go.

But let Santana be the one to tell Trick, he’s a pretender! Trick is a pretend fighter, a pretend rapper, what with those heels and tight pants. And after last Sunday at Battleground, Trick is a pretend champion! But Santana will tell Trick that Santana is the illest and realest! Trick ain’t ever dealt with someone like him! But to spit facts, Santana will be the man to take that TNA World Championship off Trick! Trick says let’s be real. Santana can keep popping off, but Trick will take off his pepper steppers and beat Santana’s ass! But wait, is that Santino Morella on the tron? He wants everyone to just take it easy, he sees it is getting heated.

And Santana will say this, “Tricky Williams,” congratulations on the victory. But as TNA Director of Authority, he wants Trick to know that he will be a fighting champion. Santino already spoke with Ava, and next week, Trick defends that title against Mike Santana! The fans are fired up already! Trick’s first defense is coming up fast, and Santana offers a handshake. Trick leaves him hanging, but then takes a swing! Santana blocks to throw haymakers! Then he THROWS Trick! The fans fire up as The Standard locks eyes on the belt. Trick says don’t do it, but Santana holds the belt up high! Will Trick’s first defense also be his last?

Ava talks with Stephanie Vaquer.

The NXT General Manager knows La Primera asked for this match tonight, but Ava has to address the rest of what happened at Battleground. At Worlds Collide, Vaquer will have a tag match against Dalys & Chika Tormenta. Ava knows that’s a lot on her plate, but Vaquer needs to find a tag partner. Vaquer thanks Ava for the news, and promises to find a partner. But first, she’ll defend her title. Wait, Lola Vice already volunteers! She’ll totally team with Vaquer. Ava says that’s perfect! Good luck out there. Lola says Vaquer doesn’t need luck to handle Jacy. Will Vaquer rock the Toxic Rockstar to then join Lola in LA?

Tatum Paxley VS Jaida Parker!

Loneliness can be soul crushing, and no one’s soul has been crushed more lately than Tatum’s. But will she use the pain she feels as motivation? Or will Miss Parker give her some physical pain to go along with the emotional?

The bell rings and the two tie up. Jaida powers Tatum to the corner, gets up in her face, but the ref counts. Jaida pushes Tatum, talks trash, but Tatum puts Jaida int he corner! The ref counts as Jaida digs her shoulders in. Jaida puts Tatum in the ropes, CHOPS her, then goes side to side for the TEAR DROP! Jaida high steps it while Tatum flounders, and then Jaida storms back up on Tatum. Jaida KICKS Tatum, ELBOW DROPS, then clamps on with the motorcycle stretch. Tatum endures, the fans rally, but Jaida stands on Tatum. Tatum fights up, turns around, but Jaida sits her back down! Jaida steps over to sit on Tatum! Tatum sputters, Jaida brings her up with a dragon sleeper, but Tatum slips free and O’Conner Rolls! TWO, and Jaida runs up. Tatum dodge sin the corner, rolls Jaida up, TWO!

Tatum snapmares Jaida, the fans rally, and Tatum runs to ROLLING AX KICK! Jaida staggers around, and Tatum SHOTGUNS her down! Jaida tumbles out, Tatum wants after her, but the ref holds Tatum back. Jaida sees the doll collection and tags the Gigi! She throws that one in, the ref reprimands and Tatum hurries after Gigi. Tatum cries, but the HIP-NOTIC hits!! Cover, Jaida wins!

Winner: Jaida Parker, by pinfall

That was cold blooded! Jaida uses Tatum’s emotions against her, but wait! THEA HAL is on Jaida! The fans cheer, Jaida gets free, but Thea wants the arm! Jaida scrambles away! Thea wants payback for the unwarranted hip attack last week, will she have her vengeance?

Jasper Troy speaks.

“Who is Jasper Troy? There was never doubt that I was going to win LFG. I’m gonna make an impact in NXT, and it starts tonight.” The LFG Season 1 Champion is ready, but who will “welcome” him to NXT?

Jasper Troy VS Dante Chen!

It would seem the Singapore Superhero is stepping up to this iron wall of a man! Will Troy look to destroy all in his way to the top?

The bell rings, the two tie up, and Troy puts Chen right in a corner. The ref counts, Troy brings Chen around to put on the ropes, but the ref counts again. Troy lets off slowly, but Chen whips. Troy blocks, reels Chen in, but Chen slips under to headlock. Troy powers up, Chen holds tight, so Tory lifts him to put on the apron! The ref counts, Chen lets go, but Troy grabs Chen by the neck! Troy runs Chen side to side but Chen avoids hitting the post! Chen bumps Troy off buckles, climbs up, and he leaps, only for Troy to get under. Chen comes back, Troy scoops him, but Chen slips free. Chen shoves Tory, runs up, but into a BACKDROP!

Troy huffs ‘n’ puffs and he runs up to ALRAIT Chen up and out! The fans fire up, Troy goes outside after Chena, and Troy fireman’s carries. SNAKE EYES off the apron! The fans rally, Troy puts Chen in, and Chen scrambles up. Troy clamps on with a chinlock and thrashes him around! Troy then fireman’s carries to HOTSHOT Chen off the ropes! Chen staggers, Troy SPLASHES him in the corner! Troy scoops for a RUNNING BACKBREAKER! Troy bends Chen back against his knee! But Chen fires knees! Troy shoves Chen down, but Chen UP KICKS! And UP KICKS again! Troy shakes that off, comes back, and he whips.

Chen ducks ‘n’ dodges, then BOOTS Troy! Troy snarls, Chen LARIATS, but Troy stays up. Chen fires a forearm, but Troy stays up. Chen fires hands, and an ENZIGIRI! The fans fire up, Chen runs, but Troy picks him up! Chen kicks off ropes to TORNADO DDT! The fans fire up as Chen BOOTS Troy down! Troy staggers, Chen aims, DOUBLE CHOP! Troy rebounds to BODY CHECK!! Troy roars, the fans fire up, BLACK HOLE SLAM!! Cover, Troy wins!

Winner: Jasper Troy, by pinfall

But wait! Here comes Oba Femi! The Ruler still owes the new guy from a few weeks ago! Oba is in the perch and he tells Troy that he was very impressed. But at least Oba has the decency to show Troy the respect he deserves, unlike Troy did with Oba. Oba says he could have easily come into that ring and jumped Troy from behind, then beat him down like a thief. But Oba would not do that. Troy better enjoy his five seconds of fame, because now that he has Oba’s attention, it is over! The NXT Champion puts Troy on notice, when and where will these titans battle it out?

No Quarter Catch Crew regroups backstage.

Myles says Tavion did great representing NXT against Santana. Tavion thanks Myles for that, then Dempsey and Wren walk in. Dempsey is glad that everyone is here. Tavion and Myles looked strong in their matches, the NQCC is proud. But… They also tried to prove themselves as singles wrestlers and failed. Therefore, the only course left is to refocus as a group. Myles asks, “What?” And no, that’s not cuz he’s hard of hearing. Myles isn’t just going to go backwards after a loss to Oba. Myles proved he belongs on the big stage. Wren says yeah, he did! Myles will not retreat to some shell.

Dempsey says Myles isn’t ready for the deep waters. Uh, Myles actually is, Charlie. No, that’s his youth and inexperience talking. Dempsey brought Myles into the NQCC, and if anyone decides- Myles brings up beating Dempsey. Would that prove he’s ready? Dempsey says that isn’t happening. Well then let’s do it! Just like the good ol’ days, right? Myles VS Dempsey, and if Myles wins, Dempsey lets Myles go. Dempsey says fine, but let’s make it a British Rounds match. Deal. The two shake on it, Myles leaves, and Wren asks Dempsey why he has to do this. But will Dempsey keep Myles under his thumb? Or will Myles use Dempsey’s favorite match against him?

Ethan Page is back in the ring…?

“Ladies and gentlemen, standing before you is arguably the greatest North American to hold the North American Championship, and I ain’t waiting to celebrate! We are celebrating TONIGHT!” The fans boo but wait! Je’Von Evans is here! “Dang, you turnin’ up and didn’t invite me, bro? We got history! I’m still waiting on you to pay for my jaw injury, but congratulations, bro. I can’t think of nobody more underserving to win the NXT North American Championship! Like, if we gonna be deadass, last week, when you poured off on me during the Triple Threat, that cost me. And I couldn’t live with that.

“So, earlier tonight, after you won, I was talking with Ava, and since we have this big showcase with WWE and AAA called Worlds Collide, you, champ, will be defending that precious NXT North American Championship at Worlds Collide against ME, the Young OG!” Ethan says no, no, no, hold on! Je’Von does not DESERVE a shot at Ethan! He deserves to put on a mask, even though he’s not a luchador! Right, right, Worlds Collide isn’t just WWE and NXT, Ethan’s got a lot of people gunning for him. But everybody in NXT knows dat boi BOUNCY~! But… Brother here has hops, too. Wait, LAREDO KID is here!

The fans cheer as AAA’s rising star comes in from the crowd, and he thanks Je’Von for the intro. Laredo Kid says, “Let me introduce myself. I am Laredo Kid, the most complete luchador you will ever see. I have won championships from TNA to AAA, and now… I come for the North American Championship match!” Ethan says hold on, hold on, is this a Triple Threat now? NO! Ethan says tonight is his celebration, and he won’t let these two ruin his night! Je’Von sarcastically says, “Oh~ no~! I forgot, I forgot, my bad. You still going against one more person” What?! REY FENIX?!?

The fans fire up as the Firebird says it is good to be here in NXT! The fans sure love the idea! And Fenix says this passion, this spirit, everyone has been telling Fenix about it! And Ethan may have just won that title, but unfortunately for him, on Saturday, June 7th, he’s gonna lose it! The fans cheer that! Fenix says at Worlds Collide, it will be a FATAL 4 WAY for that NXT North American Championship! And Fenix hopes Ethan will be ready, because on that night, Fenix brings the fire, and he will burn Ethan up! ANIMO!! This is going to be a hot match to kick off the Summer! Will All Ego even stand a chance?

Ava, Stevie Turner & Robert Stone talk backstage.

Suit Man Stone says this is wild! Ethan’s got his hands full for Worlds Collide! Can you believe it? Ava can, cuz she booked it. Stevie says hold on, hold on. Sean Legacy won that Triple Threat to be a contender. Why’s Ava throwing in these three other people? Okay, okay, hold on. Ava says the reason why it is a Fatal 4 Way at Worlds Collide is because Ava wanted talent from AAA, NXT and even main roster to get their opportunity. She did not forget Sean. Stone says Sean is still the first WWE ID talent to get a title match in NXT. Stevie accepts that. Ava says to her point, Sean Legacy will get his opportunity, 1v1, after Worlds Collide.

Stevie says that is absolutely perfect. And tomorrow night, let us not forget! WWE Evolve on Tubi makes history by crowning the FIRST-EVER WWE Evolve Women’s Champion! Kylie Rae VS Wendy Choo VS Kendal Grey VS Kali Armstrong! Ava will be watching, won’t she? Yes, Prime Minister. Stone will be on commentary, too. Who will be crowned as the first-ever WWE Evolve Women’s Champion? And who makes it out of LA just to run into #SuperSean?

Stephanie Vaquer heads for gorilla.

But waiting along the way are the many stars of the Women’s Division, including Karmen Petrovic, Kendal Grey, Carlee Bright, Nikkita Lyons, Kelani Jordan, and Lash Legend! They all want that title, but will the NXT Women’s Champion still be La Primera? Or will the Toxic Rockstar pull off the upset of the decade?

NXT Women’s Championship: Stephanie Vaquer VS Jacy Jayne w/ The Fatal Influence!

Battleground was hard fought for the champion given she was against the Juggernaut. But the constant bickering of these toxic elements sparked a confrontation, and that then made this match. Will Vaquer humble Jacy once and for all? Or is she falling into a trap?

Well speaking of traps, Jacy just jumps Vaquer the moment Vaquer is in the ring! Jacy stomps away, the fans boo, but Jacy says she’s the next champ! Vaquer stops a punch to SLAP Jacy! And SOBAT! The fans rally for “LA PRIMERA!” as she whips, but Jacy reverses. Vaquer ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl, roll-up, and cover, TWO! Jacy is up, she kicks, but Vaquer blocks to SOBAT again! Vaquer whips again, then blows past Jacy to spin and arm-drag! Jacy comes back, Vaquer sweeps to cover, ONE! Jacy sweeps to cover, ONE! Both women stand, Vaquer fires forearms, then she snapmares. Vaquer wants it and the afns cheer!

Vaquer smiles and wraps on the headscissors! But Jacy pops out the back! The fans boo but Jacy KICKS Vaquer in the side! Jacy runs to SENTON! Cover, TWO! Jacy sits Vaquer up to KICK her! And KICK again! Cover, TWO! Vaquer stays in this, the fans rally but Jacy drags her up. The fans rally, Jacy whips Vaquer to a corner, then runs up and back body blocks! Jacy reels Vaquer in for a suplex! Cover, TWO! The fans rally behind Vaquer but Jacy smirks. Jacy whips Vaquer, runs in, but Vaquer BOOTS her down! Vaquer then dribbles Jacy’s face off buckles! Vaquer scrubs Jacy’s face, then goes corner to corner.

But wait, Chika Tormenta y Dalys are here tonight?! They get on the apron, Vaquer BLASTS them both down, and Lola Vice helps out! The fans fire up as Lola brawls with Dalys, but then Chika is after her, too! Refs and security rush back out here, they get those three out of here, but Jacy rolls Vaquer! TWO, SUPERKICK from Vaquer! Jacy is on the ropes, Vaquer 619s! The fans fire up, Vaquer springboards, CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Jacy survives that shot but the fans still rally behind Vaquer as NXT goes picture in picture.

Vaquer stalks Jacy, drags her up, and whips. Jacy sunset flips but Vaquer stays up! She scrapes her heels off Jacy’s face to then drops a leg, brother! Cover, TWO! Jacy survives but Vaquer is right on her. Jacy ROCKS Vaquer, but Vaquer ROCKS Jacy, and repeat! They go back and forth, Jacy whips, but Vaquer reverses. Vaque runs up, Jacy ELBOWS Vaquer, then NECKBREAKERS! Both women are down and Vaquer scrambles to the outside. Jacy pursues but aims from the apron. Jacy PENALTY KICKS Vaquer down! Jacy snarls as she brings Vaquer back up, and she puts Vaquer back in the ring.

Jacy hits the ENCORE!! Cover, JACY WINS?!?!

Winner: Jacy Jayne, by pinfall (NEW NXT Women’s Champion)

Literally everyone is stunned, but Jacy is finally THE NXT Women’s Champion! Granted, it took both of her friends to pull off this absolute sham of a win, but apparently that was the plan all along. NXT is now under the Influence, how toxic is the Women’s Division going to get?

My Thoughts:

A great episode for NXT, and what a wild way to follow up Battleground. Stephanie Vaquer VS Jacy Jayne for the title even being booked was a surprise in itself, and then what a bold move for them to take this title off Vaquer on TV and not at Battleground. I did appreciate that we saw a lot of the other women of NXT watching Vaquer walk to gorilla, it was a foreshadowing but in a way I did not expect. Granted, they also overbooked the main event with bringing out Dalys & Chika Tormenta and then Lola Vice, and they even gave us that Fatal Influence fallout fake-out to lower even Vaquer’s guard against Fallon attacking her. A very well protected loss for Vaquer, and I suppose this opens the door for Jordynne Grace to get one more try now that she’ll be able to bulldoze all of Fatal Influence at once.

Very good NXT debut match for Jasper Troy with Dante Chen. Poor Chen, he gets hurt, comes back, gets hurt, comes back, gets squashed. But Oba confronting Troy was great, too, can’t wait to see that match. Good match from Tatum VS Jaida but of course Jaida won to then cue Thea going after her. Jaida VS Thea will be great, and it’d be more fitting if they moved to a Triple Threat, not a tag match, because Tatum doesn’t even really like Thea, she’s jealous of Thea having friends out there. The winner of that can then move on towards a title match while the other two settle their own issues, a real win-win for NXT.

Good promo from Briggs & Inamura, and I like that Inamura was vague about the goals beyond tag titles and The Culling. They’re still gonna have that grudge match, but it’d be really fitting this story if Inamura wanted to try a singles title run first before worrying about tag titles. I still feel like Briggs is going to end up with The Culling because of Brooks Jensen. Very good promo from the new Chase U, and they of course step in it again. Dark State is going to eat up Kale & Uriah, and I wonder if that compels Mr. Chase to try harder with them. We could get a fun training montage that helps Kale & Uriah take things more seriously, but also bring up old memories of Duke & Riley.

Good promo from Tony and Luca to keep us wondering whose side Luca is on, and there has to be a rematch of Tony VS Stacks to help smoke out the truth. Very good promo from Wes & The High Ryze, I’m sure they’ll get going across NXT, TNA and even Evolve, maybe make moves towards titles on the other side of Worlds Collide as we head for Great American Bash, and hopefully win something to justify the trio.

The rest of tonight was all so greatly intertwined, a real textbook example that should be followed. Ricky VS Ethan opening turned out really well, especially using the concept of “There MUST be a winner!” That cutter to the chair was nuts, but that chair was clearly “gimmicked” to break like that. Ricky sold it perfectly, it really added drama, and because of that, Ethan of course won. Ethan talking later was a headscratcher until Je’Von showed up to start us on that Fatal 4 Way news. And NXT was even smart enough to give us Ava, Stevie & Stone talking out the logic of making Sean Legacy wait. That Fatal 4 Way is going to be insane, and then there’s also potential for Sean Legacy bringing the WWE Evolve Championship along for what would surely be another great match.

Great match from Santana VS Heights, and Santana naturally won. The NQCC had a good promo together, and I like Myles wanting his independence from Dictator Dempsey. It might be a bit easy for Myles to win the British Rounds match, but perhaps they can go to the time limit on round six and give us sudden death overtime to truly have Myles shows Dempsey he is ready. Great promo from Trick and Santana to give us Trick’s first title defense, but I wouldn’t expect Trick to be one ‘n’ done. Trick surely shows up on TNA this Thursday to help hype the match, shows up on more Impacts through the summer, then maybe loses this title on a TNA PPV or special episode as payback for how he won it on a WWE show.

My Score: 8.9/10
