Mitchell’s Hyrule Puro-Resu News Report! (7/22/22)
We hear from the Eventide Six!
Who is ready for the Eventide Challenge?
Before sailing to Treasure Island again, HPW hears from this year’s #EventideSix! What will Hilda, Cia, Skull Kid, ReDead, Groose and Link have to say?
HPW Media visits Hilda at her home.
Hilda is busy looking through her summertime wardrobe as Seres asks her about Treasure Island. “Oh, I’m very excited for it, trust me,” Hilda says. “I am going to win and be the second-ever Miss Eventide, then I will get that Triforce Championship from whoever is holding it at the end of the day. And I will look fabulous while doing it, if I could just figure out what to wear…” Hilda calls Ravio in and Ravio hurries into the room. Hilda tells Ravio that he’s going to help her figure this out. He nods and takes a seat, and a montage of Hilda trying on outfits begins.
Hilda tries various type of shorts and tops, and Ravio seems to like all of them. But Hilda wants him to take this seriously, she needs to know what’s the best outfit. But Ravio say she looks great in everything! Hilda smiles and says that’s sweet, but then she grabs him by the bunny ears and tells him to skip flattering her and just be honest! Ravio apologizes and says he’ll try better. He says that if they’re going to an island, maybe she should try a swimsuit. She does like that idea, and she goes back to the dressing room. When she comes back, she’s in a metallic purple bikini and Ravio overheats! He tells the video camera to leave, he doesn’t want anyone to see this!
HPW interviews Hollywood ReDead.
The Rogue Immortal is with the UnderWorld Order is eating well with Ted Beedle Ossi paying the bills now. Irene asks how ReDead is preparing for Treasure Island, and he says that this is them relaxing. He’s been training hard since winning the Battle Royal, you can trust him on that. He’ll “tear through the others” and be on his way to the title again. Then ReDead will reign over HPW, and the rest of the uWo will follow. ReDead and the uWo then toast with turkey legs before chowing down.
HPW had to track down Skull Kid.
They searched high and low, far and wide, but Skull Kid kept evading the cameras. But then, Skull Kid leaves a message on a note that he throws at one of the cameramen. The note is picked up and read. “Stop following me or I’ll break your face! Just like I will everyone in that Eventide Challenge match! Love, Skull Kid.”
HPW interviews Link and Groose.
The Hero of Hyrule and Skyfall Stud are working out together again, with Rosso coaching them on. Paya asks how the friendly rivals feel about competing against each other in the Eventide Challenge. Link goes to speak but Groose says, “This is going to be a really interesting match. Link and I are really good pals, y’know, but that match is a free for all, it’s every person for themselves. We won’t necessarily be working together against the others, but we’re not about to let some scrawny clown snatch that prize away. And, it’d be awesome if it was the two of us duking it out for that prize. Right, Link?” Groose gives Link a hard pat on the back, and Link sheepishly smiles and nods.
HPW hears from Cia and Kage.
The Dark Forces posts a video of their own so that everyone knows what they’re thinking ahead of Treasure Island 3. Cia and Kage sit on a plush couch, Cia showing some affection towards the Hero’s Shadow. The Dark Sorceress promises to “finally reach the top of HPW by becoming Miss Eventide and going on to challenge for the HPW Triforce Championship. And if Kage asks nicely, I might go easy on him.” Cia plays with Kage’s hair and has a soft smile as she giggles in his ear. It’s hard to say Kage’s affected, though. Kage holds up the Triforce Championship as he stares right into the camera.
“Fin Balure. You have the Termina Championship, but you greedily want mine. You will pay for your greed with your gold, and will leave Eventide Island emptyhanded. And it won’t matter if it is Cia, or Hilda, or Skull Kid, or ReDead, or Groose, or even… him… No matter if it’s a Mr. Eventide or a Miss Eventide, there is no one who will take this title from me. No. One.” Kage then sets the belt down, and though Cia pouts, she still sits with him and looks defiantly at the camera. Will the Dark Forces have a guaranteed spot at the top of HPW after Treasure Island?
My Thoughts:
I don’t know if we needed this article, but it’s always good to have some character stuff. I actually think my favorite one of these is Skull Kid’s, for adding “Love, Skull Kid” to his message. And even though Kage isn’t in the Eventide Challenge match, it just makes sense he gets to give a promo ahead of his match since he’s in the Dark Forces with Cia.

Let’s Go Crazy! Let’s Get Nuts!
HyruleMania 5 approaches, and Kevin Gibdo must defend the Million Rupee Championship against Majora, who has something “special” in mind…
The Wrestling Roulette is spinning.
The wheel sits in a dark room, and the moon is visible through a round window. Majora says, “The moon goes through phases. It shows us different faces. The tides ebb and flow, going high and low, and put us through our paces. You think you can keep gambling? You think you can keep winning? You think you can survive as the wheel keeps spinning? Then let it go round ‘n’ round, round after round, and we’ll see who falls to the ground.” The wheel stops spinning, and lands on SPINNER’S CHOICE! Majora then busts through the wheel and gets right in the camera!
“Luck? Chance? Fate? Order? Chaos? W̸͉͚̫͎͎̎͗H̵͈̼̾̈́͋̅̆O̶͕̱͌͐͆̕ ̵̼̪̔̐̿̽C̶̭̫̉͘A̵̦̔̀̊͑͘Ŗ̸̡͓̘̀Ë̶̟͍̞̗́͒̀́͘͜Ş̵͎̩̹̈́͋̚͜?! What matters is victory and defeat! Controlling what you can control! And I swear that no matter what the wheel gives us, I will take that title from you! I use Spinner’s Choice to declare… MOON MADNESS!! Every three minutes, the wheel will spin and CHANGE match! Could you imagine the possibilities?! It makes my head spin!” And then his head spins!! Majora laughs maniacally, then his head stops so that it’s sideways. “There’s a fine line between genius and insanity. I’m about to cross that line, care to join me?” Majora has set the terms, will Kevin Gibdo succumb to Moon Madness?
My Thoughts:
Here I go again, trying to be really innovative and over the top. I almost thought adding stipulation on top of stipulation would work, but in many cases, there are match types that contradict each other. A peak behind the curtain of kayfabe here where I could just choose the stipulations that don’t do that, but it might also just be easier from a writing standpoint to just do away with contradictions and redundancies and just have this match constantly make left turns into new territory. Get ready for a wild ride on this one!
