8 Man Tag: The Acclaimed & FTR w/ Billy Gunn VS The Gunn Club & Swerve In Our Glory w/ The Firm!
While Max Caster & Anthony Bowens have the belts everybody wants in the AEW World Tag Team Championships, they and the THREE BELT CHAMPS, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood, are banding together to take on common enemies in Austin & Colten Gunn, as well as Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland. But with tensions running high, will Keith Lee be able to coexist with the “ASS~ BOYS~!” and his own tag partner?
But of course, Platinum Max has a diss track on deck! “Acclaimed on the mic, got the place goin’ crazy. Y’all’re ’bout to take more L’s than Tom Brady! Keith defending Swerve is awkward. He’s got the receipts like he’s Herschel Walker! I make you cry ’til your eyes are burnin’, I make you sorry like Kyrie Irving! When you say ‘Whose house?’ we gotta ax that noise. Because we’re dealing with two snakes and the Ass Boys!” Bowens says, “BOSTOOOOOON~! The Acclaimed have arrived!” And Billy Gunn hurries right past him to SPEAR Swerve! Billy throws down hands but FTR & The Acclaimed pull him back!
The Gunn Sons are furious and they get Swerve to safety, but Boston is thunderous for “Daddy Ass! Daddy Ass!” BJ Whitmer, on behalf of AEW management, hurries out to calm Billy down. Billy steps away but BJ tells him to go the back. Fans boo that Daddy Ass is ejected, but the teams sort out. Dax starts against Colten as fans still sing, “OH~ Scissor Me Daddy~!” Colten and Dax circle, tie up, and Colten puts Dax in the corner. The ref counts, Colten lets off but with a cheap shot! Colten stomps a mudhole, stops as the ref counts 4, and then he runs back in to DROPKICK Dax down! Colten talks trash but Boston boos him.
Tag to Austin, the Gunn Sons mug Dax, and then Austin ROCKS Dax with a right. Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS~” and that distracts Austin, and Dax ROCKS him right back! Austin ROCKS Dax back, but Dax ROCKS Austin! Dax headlocks, Austin powers out but Dax runs him over! Things keep moving, Dax hurdles then drops under. Austin hurdles, whips and leaps, into Dax’s arms! SPINEBUSTER, into a CATAPULT into buckles! Colten runs in, he gets an atomic drop and a CHOP! Austin rushes back in, but into an atomic drop for himself! Austin staggers and Cash ROCKS him! Then Bowens ROCKS him! Then Caster ROCKS him! Dax CHOPS Austin off his feet!

Swerve suplexes but Cash slips out to shove and hurdle! Things keep moving, Cash tilt-o-whirl BACKBREAKERS! Cash keeps Swerve in the champions corner and tags in Caster. Fans fire up and Caster snapmares Swerve, but Swerve rolls out of the way to handspring headscissor! Tag to Keith Lee!
Fans boo as Keith stares Caster down. Caster flexes but he’s still not as big as Keith. They circle, Caster throws body shots from all sides but Keith SWATS the haymaker! Keith scoops, Caster slips out and CHOPS! And SUPERKICKS! Austin runs in, Caster ELBOWS him down! Colten runs in but gets an ELBOW, too! Swerve slithers in but Caster still back drops him! Caster jumps at Keith while Bowens gets Swerve and FTR get one Gunn each! The champions have their challengers in all four corners, and fans count as the fists rain down! Everyone gets to TEN, so that’s FORTY punches total! But while Swerve & The Gunns bail out, Keith throws Caster off!
FTR fire off hands together and Keith wobbles. The Acclaimed double whip FTR for them to double whip The Acclaimed, and they DOUBLE SHOULDER TACKLE Keith down! Keith tumbles out and fans fire up, as The Acclaimed SCISSOR FINGER~! But then the teams bump into each other, and are very jumpy! They calm down when the realize who is who, and AEW goes picture in picture.
Fans fire up for these four, and they want them to scissor finger! FTR offer, and The Acclaimed accept! Boston is having fun as Dax tags in. Dax CLUBS Keith, then he and Bowens get Keith in the ring. Dax DECKS Swerve as he creeps over, but Austin rushes in! Dax DECKS Austin, but Colten distracts the ref so that W. MORRISSEY can BOOT Dax down! The human skyscraper makes a difference, and the ref misses it! Cash coaches Dax up and Keith wonders what happened. Colten puts Dax in but Bowens chases him off after that. Keith tags Swerve, they mug Dax, and Swerve has Dax in a corner. Dax CHOPS back!
Swerve CHOPS Dax! Swerve bumps Dax off buckles, snapmares him down, then goes up top for the FALLING UPPERCUT! Cover, TWO! Swerve is annoyed but he stands on Dax’s hand. Tag to Colten and Colten stomps Dax. Colten bumps Dax off buckles, stomps a mudhole in, then he taunts Cash & The Acclaimed. The ref has to keep those three back, allowing Austin to CHOKE Dax! Keith doesn’t approve but Austin gets away with it. Colten stomps another mudhole in while Austin soaks up the heat. Colten keeps Dax from his corner to CLUB away! Tag to Swerve and he grinds Dax down with a facelock.

Colten swings a haymaker in return, only to get caught into a BIG back suplex! Fans fire up while both men are down! Austin hot tags Colten, he drags Dax away and puts him in an open corner. Colten runs in but Dax dodges the splash! Hot tag to Bowens!
Fans fire up as the Five Tool Player rallies on Austin and Swerve! Bowens fires the ELBOW, JAB, CHOP and SUPERKICK on Austin! Then a kick and flurry off forearms on Swerve before the KNEE SMASH! “EVERYONE LOVES THE ACCLAIMED!” Colten runs in, misses and Bowens mule kicks, front kicks, runs and LEAP FROG FAMOUSERS! Cover, TWO!! Colten is still in this, and then Swerve and Austin trip up Caster and FTR! Colten ROCKS Bowens, whips him, and the Gunns steal the BIG RIG! Cover, Caster & Cash break it in time! The teams regroup, and Swerve wants Keith to join in!
Keith climbs up, he steps inside, and fans fire up as the brawl is on! Keith has Bowens, Caster backs Swerve down, but Austin clotheslines Dax out while Cash ROCKS Colten! Cash clotheslines Austin out, but then Colten rushes in. Cash dodges to CROSSBODY Colten and himself out of the ring! FTR and the Gunns are both outside, Bowens ROCKS Keith then helps Caster with Swerve. The Acclaimed mug Swerve, but then Bowens runs at Keith! Keith pops Bowens up, SWINGS him into Caster, then POWERBOMBS him on Caster! Keith then fireman’s carries Bowens, Swerve coordinates, ROLLING ELBOW KICK SANDWICH!!
Bowens goes down and Swerve wants a boost. Keith helps him up and up and Swerve SUPER TORNILLOS everyone down! Fans lose their minds, and then they want to see Keith do something. Austin goes up and Keith gets ready to throw him, but Dax YANKS Keith! Dax ROCKS Austin, climbs up to get him, and Dax SUPERPLEXES Austin onto everyone!! Fans lose their minds again as all eight men are down at ringside! Dax and Austin rise, and Dax pushes Austin into the ring. Dax storms up but Austin JABS! Dax staggers back, but Austin JABS again! And JABS, JABS, then does a strut, “SUCK IT!” but Dax trips Austin!
Dax has the legs, for the SHARPSHOOTER!! Boston is thunderous but Colten gets in to ROCK Dax with that right hand! Colten kicks low, says “SUCK IT!” and then runs, but Dax sends Colten at Bowens! THE ARRIVAL! Caster is up top, MIC DROP! FTR aim for Austin, THE BIG RIG!! Bowens covers, the champions win!
Winners: The Acclaimed & FTR, by pinfall
The AEW World Tag Team Champions are rolling, as are the ROH-IWGP-AAA World Tag Team Champions! Will Caster & Bowens settle things with Swerve & Keith to finally give FTR their shot at the one pair of belts they don’t have?
AEW shares MJF’s comments from the Pardon My Take podcast.
The big question was of course, MJF hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since The Firm’s brutal attack, but he has the AEW World Championship match at Full Gear. How is he feeling? “After The Firm attacked me in a very cowardice fashion, doctors informed me that if I want to be 110% come Full Gear, I definitely shouldn’t be traveling on the road. And to be frank, the only thing I’m worried about is that match at Full Gear against Jon Moxley. See, this is the most important match in my entire career. But what I don’t think wrestling fans understand is this also possibly the most important match in the history of our sport. Allow me to explain why.
“This could be the potential crowning of the next face of the next generation of professional wrestling. Every once in awhile, every once in a blue moon, really, we see people that lead the charge of a generation and bring professional wrestling to new heights. Guys like Bruno Sammartino, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair. Guys like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena. All of these men were generational talents. And that is exactly who MJF is. So here’s what’s gonna happen: all I have to do to etch my name into history is to have a long, fruitful world title reign, and the only person that’s getting in my way is Jon Moxley.
“Now, I’m not gonna sit here, Big Cat, I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that Jon Moxley is an easy competitor to beat. I don’t like you, Jon. I think you’re a lowlife scumbag piece of s*it, I think you’re from the slums of Cincinnati, and I think you have absolutely no class, but I do respect you. Because Jon, you weren’t born to be a world champion. As a matter of fact, you were born with two left feet and not one single athletic bone in your body. However, I respect you because you had to work your ass off to become the man you are today. Blood, sweat, tears, sacrifices. You had to defy all the odds doing 15 hour drives to wrestle in front of 15 people for $15.
“And you did it over, and over, and over again, honing your craft until eventually, you did the damn near impossible, Jon Moxley, and you became the best professional wrestler on God’s green earth. But know this: Come November 19th, you’re about to lose that handle because I was born to not just be a professional wrestler, but to be the professional wrestler. I’m the guy who can come on the number one sports podcast in the world, Pardon My Take. I’m the guy who can do movies, TV shows, commercials, talk shows, and I can wave the flag of the AEW brand, and hell! I can wave the flag of pro-wrestling and bring pro-wrestling back to where it belongs, something that everyone is talking about.
“Every single wrestling fan, promoter, pundit and analyst is fully aware that that throne is for the taking, and I’m the one who’s going to take it. I am so sick of waiting my turn. Ever since I entered AEW, I have had to get the spotlight stolen from me in my big moments. My first-ever singles PPV match, the spotlight was on a neck tattoo. My first-ever world title shot, which was against you, Jon Moxley, when you cheated, the spotlight was on Matt Hardy taking a fall like Humpty Dumpty. The first-ever Blood & Guts match, I am standing atop of the cage, with a crimson mask. I had prevailed, that should’ve been my crowning moment. Instead, the spotlight was on Chris Jericho.
“Speaking of Chris Jericho, he stole the spotlight from me for a full calendar year. And then, on my big return, the spotlight was on a press conference. Know this, Jon. On November 19th at Full Gear in the Tristate Area, Newark, New Jersey, in the Prudential Center, I am not waiting for the spotlight anymore, I am grabbing it! And you are going to have to take it out of my cold, dead hands, Jon. Your boy, William Regal, bet on the wrong horse. I don’t need a diamond ring to knock your lights out. Cuz come Full Gear, the Devil gets his due.” Maxwell Jacob Friedman didn’t even need his catchphrase there. Will his actions prove he is better than Moxley, and he knows it?
Stokely Hathaway speaks.
“When Max and I were younger, I thought we wanted the same things: money; cars; clothes. But someone forgot where they came from. They wanted to be liked, they wanted that good ol’ fashioned pat on the back. And I thought that when my best friend would possibly win his first world championship, I would be by his side. But instead, he’s dick-riding Jon Moxley, and the worst crime you can commit is dick-riding without a license. So Max, I don’t need you. I don’t need my best friend. I can do this by myself. So win, lose or draw at Full Gear, I’ll see you in Hell, Max!”
AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, Opening Round: Ethan Page w/ Stokely Hathaway VS Eddie Kingston w/ Ortiz!
Speaking of Full Gear, the tournament tradition is back again! And All Ego wants to be the one to make it to the end and get that golden ticket! Will Ethan be in New Jersey to watch Moxley VS MJF? Or will the Mad King break Ethan’s bracket right from the start?
The bell rings and Ethan circles with Eddie. Boston is fired up for Eddie, he and Ethan tie up, and Eddie puts Ethan in the corner. The ref counts, Ethan complains and Eddie lets off. Ortiz tells Ethan to stop complaining and get in there. Ethan and Eddie circle, feel things out, and they tie up. Eddie headlocks, fans duel, and Ethan powers up, only for Eddie to hold tight. Ethan fights up and he puts Eddie in a corner. The ref calls the ropebreak but Ethan throws body shots! Ethan throws haymakers but Eddie turns things around to CHOP! And CHOP! But Ethan ROCKS Eddie! Ethan whips, Eddie reverses and KNEES Ethan at the ropes! Eddie underhooks for a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Eddie keeps on Ethan with a whip to the corner, but Ethan reverses, and Eddie hits buckles hard! Eddie flops out of the ring but Ethan goes out after him.
Ethan ROCKS Eddie with another forearm, then brings him around to suplex to the floor! Both men writhe and the ring count starts as AEW goes picture in picture.
Ethan stands and he stares Ortiz down. Ethan then goes to Eddie but Eddie CHOPS! And CHOPS! Eddie CLAWS Ethan’s face! The ref reprimands, Ethan lets off and he puts Eddie in the ring. Ethan runs to drop an elbow! Cover, ONE!! Ethan clamps onto Eddie with a chinlock and he leans on the hold. Eddie endures and fans rally up. Eddie fights up, he backs Ethan into buckles, and he gets free! Eddie runs in but Ethan BOOTS him away! Ethan goes up the ropes and leaps, into an ENZIGURI! Both men are down and Stokely is worried. Stokely coaches Ethan up but Eddie CHOPS! And CHOPS! And MACHINE GUN CHOPS!
Eddie CHOPS Ethan down, then steps on his face in the corner! Eddie goes side to side, but Ethan scoops him for a POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Ethan is frustrated but he kicks Eddie around. Ethan JAMS his knee into Eddie’s back, and again, and again! Then he drops another elbow! Ethan shouts at the fans then pretends he can’t hear them. Ethan grins, blows a kiss and tells Boston to kiss his ass. Ethan stalks Eddie to ropes and CHOKES him! The ref counts, Ethan lets off at 4, and then Ethan drags Eddie up. Ethan reels Eddie in, but Eddie resists the lift! Dynamite returns to single picture as Eddie keeps fighting!
Eddie wrenches out to SAIDO! Cover, TWO!! Ethan survives and Stokely is relieved. Stokely says a quick prayer that Ethan get back in this but Boston rallies behind Eddie. Eddie sits Ethan up to throw a haymaker. Ethan returns the shot, but Eddie does, too. They go back and forth, haymakers and forearms back and forth! Eddie gets the edge, they both stand, and Ethan ROCKS Eddie with a forearm! Eddie haymakers, Ethan gets the edge with elbows! Eddie roars to CHOP! And CHOP! And CHOP! Then DDT! Cover, TWO!! Ethan is still in this and Eddie is surprised. Eddie drags himself up, snarls at Stokely, then hobbles after Ethan.
Eddie clinches but Ethan fights it. Ethan ROCKS Eddie with a big forearm! Ethan whips, Eddie reverse and clinches, EXPLODER! Ethan sits up in a daze but Eddie is right on him! Eddie steps over, hooks Ethan’s arm and head, for the STRETCH PLUM! But Stokely distracts the ref so that he doesn’t see the tap out! Eddie would’ve won! But Ortiz trips Stokely up! Stokely runs away, Eddie turns around into a BOOT! But Eddie stays up! But Ethan ducks the Uraken to ROUNDHOUSE! Eddie is dazed now and Ethan goes to a corner. Ethan climbs up, even as Eddie crawls. Eddie springs up to ROCK Ethan!
Eddie climbs up to go after Ethan, and he BITES Ethan’s forehead!! But Ethan slips out to trip Eddie up! The Mad King is stuck on his throne, and Ethan goes up to use the straps to bring Eddie in! Crucifix lift, and fans are thunderous for the SUPER EGO’S EDGE!! Cover, Ethan wins!!
Winner: Ethan Page, by pinfall (advances to the next round)
The first man into the semifinals is All Ego! Rampage will feature Rush VS Bandido, who will meet Ethan in the next round?
Backstage interview with The Dark Order and La Faccion Ingobernable.
Speaking of Rush, he is with Jose the Assistant as Renee Paquette interviews them, Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds & Preston Vance. This Friday is Rush VS Bandido in the Eliminator Tournament, but it seems LFI asked for this time to specifically talk to Vance. This is how it’s going to go: Rush will win the whole tournament, become AEW World Champion, so sorry Renee, and then, because Rush liked how Vance brought the fight and stays in shape consistently, Vance will receive the very first title shot from Rush. And while the rest of The Dark Order is here, Jose is telling the “bunch of clowns” that they are never, ever getting a shot!
Rush steps up to Vance and tells him to think about the offer. “Because Rush doesn’t give second opportunities, perro!” Silver tells the “Rush bag” to back off. Jose keeps Rush from tearing into the Meat Man, but will El Toro Blanco keep his word and give Number 10 that golden opportunity in the near future?
Ari Daivari & Jeeves Kay are in the ring.
Daivari Dinero says, “I have made a very lucrative offer for a certain member of the AEW roster. I am willing to offer the full services of my butler in exchange for the TNT Championship.” Jeeves is confused, he thought they were paying Wardlow off. Daivari tells Wardlow, “Think about this. You can go from being MJF’s servant, to having your very own. Oh how the tables have turned!” Wardlow makes his entrance, Samoa Joe by his side. It would seem the TNT Champion has found someone to answer the Open Challenge. Will Wardlow take Daivari up on the deal? Or will his counteroffer be a very painful one?
AEW TNT Championship Open Challenge: Wardlow w/ Samoa Joe VS Ari Daivari w/ Jeeves Kay!
The introductions are made, the belt is handed over and Wardlow shakes Daivari’s hand! Wardlow also shakes Jeeves’s hand, before he kicks him low and THROWS him out of the ring! Wardlow faked Daivari out! The bell rings, Daivari wants timeout, but fans chant, “YOU F’D UP! YOU F’D UP!” Daivari kicks but Wardlow blocks, and HEADBUTTS him! Daivari flops over and Wardlow smirks. Wardlow drags Daivari up, winds up, and LARIATS! Daivari flounders and fans fire up as Wardlow says it’s time. Wardlow brings Daivari up for a POWERBOMB! Fans want the encore, and Wardlow obliges!
Wardlow drags Daivari up, brings him back in, and he POWERBOMBS Daivari again! The fans keep on singing along to the symphony, and Wardlow brings Daivari up again! THIRD POWERBOMB! And then the roll through to the FOURTH! Cover, Wardlow wins!
Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)
Wardlow kicks Daivari out of the ring and gets a mic to call out Will Hobbs! Wardlow wants Hobbs to show up right now! So here comes the Powerhouse! Hobbs asks, “You want me? That’s twice. We’re doing this on my time.” But Wardlow shouts on the mic, “Finally! Finally, I have a suitable opponent for my title. And thanks for coming out face to face like a man this time.” Wardlow is telling Hobbs now, Hobbs ain’t getting the TNT title, it is HIS, and will always be HIS! And for that matter, Wardlow is gonna take EVERY title in this company! Hobbs says no, they do this on Hobbs’ time.
But wait! JOE CLOBBERS WARDLOW! The ROH World Television Champion let the disrespect slide last week, but not this time! And then he clamps on the COQUINA CLUTCH!! Wardlow is turning red!! Fans are losing their minds as Wardlow fades out!! Hobbs is intrigued, and then Joe grabs both belts! Hobbs says he’ll kick both their asses, but Joe tells Wardlow to get a good night’s sleep. Will these three behemoths battle for both those belts to be THE face of AEW television?
Backstage interview with Jade Cargill & The Baddies.
Renee is the AEW TBS Champion, as well as her girls, Leila Grey & Kiera Hogan, and notes how Nyla Rose is still taunting Jade with the TBS title belt. But now, it is official, at Full Gear, we will see Jade VS Nyla for the TBS Championship. How will that go? Jade says she’s “gonna handle Nyla’s ass at Full Gear.” And Nyla is still parading around with Jade’s belt, declaring an open challenge! Jade is sick of it! If Nyla wants to be in Boston for Rampage, then Jade will handle her this Friday! Jade heads out, Kiera & Leila hurry after, but will the Native Beast and her Vicious Vixens see them coming?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
And he says it is time for a face-to-face! Welcome first, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD! The Dentist refused to join Renee and Saraya for a sit-down interview last week, because she wants to do this her way. Britt goes to the ring to join Schiavone, and then Schiavone welcomes Saraya! #THERevolution makes her way out now and joins Schiavone and Britt in the ring, and everyone has a mic. Schiavone starts by saying Saraya had something she wanted to tell all of us, including Britt, in person. Here we are, so what is the news? Saraya says first, she bets the fans are really wondering about “it.” Is Saraya cleared to wrestle or not?
Saraya will let us know that a couple weeks ago, she got MRIs, X-rays, CT scans, and unfortunately… for Britt… Saraya is 100 CLEARED!! Fans are thunderous to learn Saraya’s back for real! Saraya says AEW is HER HOUSE!! Britt frowns and says, “Well, is there anything more fickle than an AEW fan? So, you’re cleared? What does that even mean? Do you still know how to do this?” Britt says they aren’t cleared. Saraya has been coming after Britt since she first got here, and why is that? Britt thinks she has it, so let’s see if this is clear. “I built AEW from the ground up until it became a fortress that wrestlers like you. No, that superstars like you wanted to move into. And I’m damn proud of that!”
Fans chant for “DMD!” for what she did do, but Britt continues. “But that pride turned into resentment very quickly when you had the audacity to skip in here and call it your house. Because it’s funny. I don’t recall you laying a single brick. And I understand, I finally get it. I know why you’re obsessed with me. It’s because I am everything you wish you could have been. And, if you think I’m lying, if you think that’s not true, let me remind you… You left your house and walked into mine. And Saraya, I regret to inform you that we don’t take walk-ins. So bitch, make an appointment!” Fans fire up as Britt snaps back.
Saraya says it’s so cute Britt puts herself on a pedestal consider she was handed a position by Tony Khan. She then got fed a bunch of QT’s trainees, and has only be in front of the camera for three years, when Saraya’s been in this business for 30, 17 professionally. So Britt doesn’t know what it takes to be a superstar! Britt doesn’t know what it takes to even be a STAR! Saraya traveled up and down the UK and all around Europe for free because she loves this business! She got hit by a CAR and wrestled the same day because she loves this business! She handed out resumes to promoters and turned down, for the sheer fact that she was female.
Britt has no idea what it takes to make it. Saraya was starting revolutions before they were a trend, and before wrestling was a twinkle in Britt’s eye! Saraya has done Madison Square Garden, the O2, and the Tokyo Dome! “And now I’m in front of an ungrateful BITCH!” Britt doesn’t know what it takes! Saraya has been publicly humiliated in front of millions of people. She battled a drug addiction, publicly. And she’s given her career and her neck for this business. Britt doesn’t have a clue what it takes to make it. But here we go! Here’s another opportunity handed to Britt on a silver platter. This is Saraya’s comeback story, and Britt’s biggest match ever.
Saraya says it will be Saraya VS Britt 1v1, AT FULL GEAR!! Mic drop! Britt is speechless for once but Boston is fired up! But then Britt swings on Saraya! Saraya dodges, mule kicks, and she scoops Britt for the RAMPAIGE!! “THIS IS MY HOUSE~!!” The Revolution is back, will she prove to the DMD that she is NOT the Face of AEW?
AEW goes backstage with Jay Lethal and friends.
Lexi Nair is on the scene as Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh thanked QT Marshall and the Factory for the assist. Not only that, but Cole Karter earned every dollar in this envelope for pulling off the fake Sting trick. Lethal assures them, it’s all there, they don’t have to check it. But QT still does, and he gives Karter his cut. Pleasure doing business. Next time will be half off. Nice! But oh, well! Laugh it up, says Danhausen! He points at them all for ruining Danhausen’s Halloween! And then Lee Johnson had to go and join this “goon squad of bad people!” Orange Cassidy tells Big Shotty to not hit his friends.
QT says hold on, they’re not fighting back here. The Factory fights in the ring. So since Cassidy loves putting the All-Atlantic Championship on the line, put it on the line against Lee Johnson this Friday! No problem. See you then. As for Trent, he says, “Sup, scumbags?” to Lethal and friends. What was that? Who’s he talking to? Trent steps closer. “I said, ‘What’s up, scumbags?'” Oh, he thinks they’re scumbags! Well, wanna do something about it? Yeah! They can fight tonight on Dynamite! See you out there. Lethal and his friends seem confused, but will Lethal be able to take the fight to #JustTrent?

Lethal puts Trent in, Trent finally gets his jacket off, and the bell rings to make this official. Lethal KICKS the bad leg out! Lethal stalks Trent as he hobbles up, and Lethal KICKS the leg out again! Lethal taunts the fans but Trent ROCKS him with rights! Lethal kicks the bad leg, brings Trent to a corner and goes up, but Trent yanks Lethal down for a SAIDO! Lethal flounders away, Trent forces himself to stand, and he ROCKS Lethal at the ropes. Trent fires off forearm after forearm, the ref counts and backs Trent off at 4. Trent snarls, but Lethal mule kicks the leg out! Lethal KICKS the bad leg, grabs the leg, and SHIN BREAKERS!
Lethal then DRAGON SCREWS Trent right out of the ring! Trent clutches his leg while Lethal dusts his hands off. But here come Chuck and Danhausen finally! Fans cheer as things are even now, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Chuckie T and Danhausen check Trent but Lethal goes out after Trent. Sonjay tells Chuck and Danhausen to back down but they say the same to him and Satnam. But Lethal CHOP BLOCKS the leg again! And then he steps through for a FIGURE FOUR! A tap out won’t count outside the ring, Lethal’s just doing this to be cruel! Trent endures, Chuck coaches him up, and Lethal lets go to get in the ring. Lethal refreshes the count, but then Trent slides in. Lethal just drags Trent out by the bad leg, to hit a KNEE BREAKER! Lethal then says “WOO~!” and steps through again. But Trent throws Lethal away! Trent gets up, but Lethal CLOBBERS him back down!
Lethal tells Chuck to back off, then he drags Trent up. Lethal puts Trent in the ring, hauls him up, and hits another SHIN BREAKER! Lethal drops an elbow on the leg, and another, and then another! Lethal pulls on the toehold but Trent endures. Trent fishhooks Lethal’s nose but the ref reprimands. Lethal shakes that off to sit up and pull even harder on the toehold! Trent snarls, throws’ body shots, and he gets Lethal to let go. But then Lethal DECKS Trent! Lethal drags Trent up to CLUB him, and then again! But Trent fights back with body shots! Trent ROCKS Lethal, ROCKS him again, but then swings into the LETHAL COMBINATION!
Lethal shakes out his arm, he goes to the apron and struts his way to the corner. Dynamite returns to single picture as Lethal lets out a “WOO~!” Lethal climbs up, MACHO ELBOW into knees! Trent saves himself and both men are down! A standing count starts and Trent drags himself to ropes. Trent stands, Lethal runs in but into a CHOP! Trent ROCKS and CHOPS and then ducks a haymaker to GERMAN SUPLEX! Trent holds on and he drags Lethal up. HALF ‘N’ HALF! Lethal flounders to a corner and fans fire up. Trent runs in to clothesline! Trent then facelocks, TORNADO- NO, Lethal throws Trent down!
Lethal steps through, but Trent boots him into the buckles! Lethal checks his jaw but Trent drags him up. Trent hits the TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! Lethal survives and fans fire up! Lethal gets to a corner, Trent storms over and brings him up. Lethal kicks the bad leg then goes up the corner. Trent CLUBS Lethal, then climbs up behind him. Lethal throws elbows but Trent CLUBS Lethal more. Trent brings Lethal up, half nelson, SUPER HALF ‘N’ HALF!! Lethal staggers up, into the BUSAIKU KNEE! Fans fire up with Trent and he hauls Lethal up to Alabama Lift! But Sonjay distracts! Trent has to drop Lethal from the bad knee giving up!
Danhausen gets up on the apron to shout at Sonjay, but Satnam climbs up behind him! Danhausen turns around to see the giant! So Danhausen builds up his power! Sonjay turns him around, no cursing the giant! DICK PUNCH to Sonjay!! Satnam HEADBUTTS Danhausen! Trent DROPKICKS Satnam! Satman hops down to the floor, Lethal mule kicks Trent! Lethal fireman’s carries to FLAPJACK, and then LETHAL INJECTION! Cover, Lethal wins!
Winner: Jay Lethal, by pinfall
The scumbags help each other again and Lethal comes out on top! Schiavone waits for them on stage to interview them about that. Sonjay grabs the mic to tell Schiavone to shut up and sit back down! Did you see what Sonjay did last week? HE runs this place! So sit down! Sonjay says he promised a huge surprise and he delivered! Their good friend, the Hall of Famer, the legendary JEFF JARRETT! Double J makes his entrance, guitar in hand. Jeff gets the mic to say, “That’s right! After over a million views of the debut of the Last Outlaw, it’s very apparent. The question is, why is the Last Outlaw in AEW?”
Fans mouth off and Jeff tells them to shut the hell up! Jeff will tell us why he’s here! “When a friend calls, a friend shows up. And that’s exactly what Jeff Jarrett did. I showed up to help and put a plan together, and we started last week. You probably wondering how the four of us guys are connected, I’m gonna tell ya. This guy right here, Jay Lethal, I signed him to his very first contract. He’s oozed machismo his entire career. He’s got wins over the Nature Boy, Ric Flair, Sting, and yes, he even became a Grand Slam Champion in ROH. Sonjay Dutt has an IQ of 181. Do I need to say anymore? We have taken over promotions all over the globe!
“And Satnam. C’mon up here, Satnam. This is a legit 7’5″ GIANT! Cameraman, start at his feet and pan up, slow pan. This isn’t no make-believe monster who wears red skinny jeans and is produced by the banana nosed circus. This guy is one in a billion! Why’s he one in a billion? That’s the name of his Netflix special! He’s the only player in the history of the NBA, the history of the National Basketball Association, to be born and bred in India! So Sting, Darby Allin, you here? I’m calling you out! Darby, we put you in a body bag last week. Sting, we’re gonna put you in a body bag. We’ll take you on. Are you winding me up?” The production crew is trying to have Jeff wrap!
“Don’t you EVER wind me up! Do you understand me? I’m putting the challenge out right now. Tonight on Dynamite, next week on Dynamite, or Full Gear! Don’t ever wind me up again, do you hear me?!” Jeff then starts chasing the guy with his guitar!! Sonjay has Jeff cool off. But will the Last Outlaw give AEW another smash hit when he sees The Icon?
Backstage interview with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.
Renee says the tensions continue to mount between him and Luchasaurus. JB cost Luchasaurus the All-Atlantic Championship last week, but where do they stand now? JB says the last thing he heard from Luchasaurus and Christian Cage is that they’re done with him. They’re moving on to bigger and better. But y’know what? Christian doesn’t get to decide when this is over! What happened last week was just the beginning when JB left Luchasaurus laying in a pile of wood. Renee says Full Gear is just around the corner, so what does that mean?
JB can’t wait for Full Gear. He has a challenge for Christian & Luchasaurus. But unlike them, JB does his business face to face. He’ll tell them the challenge on Rampage this Friday! Just what will Jungle Boy have in mind for the men who betrayed him?
Jon Moxley is here!
The Maniac AEW World Champion makes his way through the crowd and heads to the ring, William Regal by his side. Moxley then gets the mic to say, “Sir William Regal, how old was I when we first me? 25? 26? Something like that. Back then, I was young and full of piss and vinegar, I didn’t have crippling arthritis yet, I could move around pretty good. I really thought I knew it all. I really thought I had it all figured out. And I loved to talk trash, as you remember. I kept running my mouth over and over. I wanted to be just like you (Regal). Feared and respected. I wanted to be a real top guy in professional wrestling.
“So to prove myself to you, to get my respect, I tried to pick a fight with you. And that did not go well. That did not go well at all. You tortured me. You physically tortured me, brutalized me, kicked the hell out of me, and it pissed me off cuz I found out exactly where I was on the food chain. And it drove me to work harder, and train harder, and to grow and evolve, and one day come back and get my revenge. And when I got another shot at you, I made it count. If you remember, I knocked you out with a knee to the face and ripped your ear off the side of your head. You do remember that.” Regal nods, he definitely remembers.
Moxley says Regal then told him, as he finally took Moxley under his wing, “And now the real work begins.” Moxley says, “Who does that young, impetuous kid remind you of, Sir William?” Regal nods, knowing where Moxley is going with this. “It reminds us of young Maxwell Jacob Friedman, whom I will face at Full Gear for the AEW World Championship. Now I first wrestled MJF well over a year ago. Probably the Summer of 2020, he challenged me for the AEW World Championship, and he though the had it all figured out back then. He thought that this was his time.
“So I beat the hell out of him, I bloodied him up, and I sent him packing. I let him know exactly where he stood in the pecking order. But now, all these months later, he’s come back around again for another shot. So the question is, what’s gonna be different this time? I mean, who is MJF? It’s hard to figure out. He seems to be having some kind of existential identity crisis right now. Who exactly is MJF? We know the MJF that he shows to the world. He dresses very nice, he wears a fake diamond ring, he wears the clothes his mom bought for him at JCPenney. He wants to put on the air of somebody rich and successful.
“He talks the talk of a big time world champion pro-wrestler, the kind he wants to be. But dude, I actually am a multimillionaire, multi-time world champion, so you can’t fool me. I ain’t buying it. He calls himself a pillar, even though he has no idea what it feels like to have any weight on his back. What’s more amusing is MJF calls himself, ‘The Devil.'” Regal pretends to be scared for like a second, then he smirks with Moxley as they chuckle over that. MJF says he’s the Devil of AEW. “Dude, I have seen the devil. I have met the devil, I have looked into his eyes. I have met some very bad people, been some very bad places, seen some bad people do some very bad things. Dude, you are not that. You are not that at all.
“And I want you, as William Regal wants you, to fulfill your potential one day and put this company on your back. We are, after all, teachers. You can do your song and dance in the lead up to Full Gear, you can talk trash, your dog ‘n’ pony show. I’m not worried about that at all. I’m worried about what you got in your guts, because I’m gonna bring it outta ya. When you step into the ring in your hometown in Newark, New Jersey at Full Gear, just remember one thing: Everything you’ve done up to this point has been easy.” Mic drop! The Blue Eyed Battler puts it all on Maxwell Jacob Friedman, will the Salt of the Earth be worth his salt?
Another video where The Elite disappear.
But it’s also part Full Gear steampunk aesthetic. A montage of all the things Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks have done in AEW, both in and out of the ring, online and in person, even before AEW was formed, and even before The Elite were pro-wrestlers. Everything is converging at Full Gear!! What happens to All Elite Wrestling when The Elite finally returns?
AEW hears from Bryan Danielson and Sammy Guevara.
The Spanish God says Bryan knows Sammy has his number. “Bryan knows damn well that if Sammy Guevara and Bryan Danielson get in the ring again, it’s going to be different.” The American Dragon says “It always impresses me when the younger talent steps into the ring with me after I’ve kicked their head in, and they want to fight me again.” Bryan tells Sammy that his face will represent the disrespect that Bryan has felt from Chris Jericho and the way he treats the ROH World Championship. It is the disrespect from Daniel Garcia after everything Bryan put into him to show him that he is a WRESTLER! The DISRESPECT from Wheeler Yuta!!
ALL that disrespect is going to be put right into Sammy’s face tonight when Bryan kicks his head in!! The classic from two weeks ago gets one hell of a rematch! Who wins two out of three falls to put things to rest between American Dragon and Spanish God?

Skye throws body shots but Hayter throws her down by her hair! The ref reprimands and Hayter “apologizes.”
Hayter stomps Skye around, stands on Skye’s head, and tosses her own hair and fans herself off while the ref counts. Hayter steps away at 4 to drag Skye up and throw her out! Skye tumbles to the floor, Hayter shouts at Storm and the ref is distracted again. Britt taunts Skye then Hayter goes out to fetch her. Hayter puts Skye in the ring, takes her time returning, and then she stomps Skye around. Hayter CLUBS Skye down, drags her up, and CLUBS her again! Hayter stands on Skye’s hair but Skye swipes at her. Hayter steps away, drags Skye up and CLUBS her again. Hayter drags Skye up again, but Skye fires off forearms!
Dynamite returns to single picture and Skye fires off! Hayter pulls hair! Skye ducks the haymaker to run and SHOTGUN! Fans fire up and Skye runs in, but Hayter puts her on the apron. Skye ROCKS Hayter first, then rushes Britt! Britt moves so Rebel takes the PENALTY KICK! Skye SUPERKICKS Britt, then she GAMANGIRIS Hayter! Skye goes up, CROSSBODIES and covers, TWO! Hayter is still in this but Skye keeps her cool. Skye drags Hayter up but Hayter kicks low and scoops. Skye slips off, full nelsons, but Hayter breaks to switch! Ripcord, HATE- NO, Skye ducks to roll Hayter. Hayter blocks the kick and spins Skye, but Skye SLIDING-GIRIS!
Hayter wobbles, Skye runs, and she hops on to CODE BLUE!! Cover, TWO!! Hayter survives and Skye is shocked! Fans rally and duel as Hayter stirs. Skye pleads with the ref about the count, but Hayter rolls her up! TWO!!! Hayter ROCKS Skye with a right! Hayter fires off more forearms on Skye, but Skye ROCKS Hayter back! Hayter DECKS Skye! Hayter runs, into a SUPERKICK! Skye runs, but Hayter follows to BOOT! Hayter bumps Skye off buckles, CHOKES her, and talks trash! The ref counts, Hayter lets off at 4, and she CHOPS! And CHOPS! And whips corner to corner, but Skye goes up! Hayter gets under! Electric Chair, spin into the wheelbarrow!
Hayter blocks Skye’s bulldog, to ripcord and HATEMAKER!! Cover, Hayter wins!

And Hayter adds on by stomping Skye! Storm rushes in and runs Hayter off! But in the end, big bully Jamie has a win, and she’s red hot going into Full Gear! Will #ToniTime run out? Or will the Lightning From Down Under strike down a former friend?
AEW hears from Brian Cage and Dante Martin.
The Machine tells the #INHUMAN Angel Dorado that he is excellent and phenomenal, a true high-flyer and a once in a generation athlete. But unfortunately, Brian Cage is a once in a lifetime athlete. Dante may be excellent, but he’s not better than Cage. No one is. But Dante says, “The bigger they are, the harder they fall. And this week, you’re gonna figure that out, Brian Cage. Because you’re gonna figure it out at the hands of the Inhuman Dante Martin. I’ll see you on Rampage.” Cage says all Dante is, is “one small step on the Path of Cage to becoming the NEW AEW World Champion. Because I’m not a man, I’m a MACHINE!”
Strength takes on speed in the World Title Eliminator Tournament, which wins out to move to the semifinals?
Backstage interview with Ricky Starks.
At least, that’s what Alex Marvez was hoping for but then Lance Archer says, “You wanna talk to Pretty Ricky Starks? Well this is your chance.” He’s holding Starks up by his hair! Archer throws Starks down and says, “I’ve got a very simple message. It’s that everybody dies!” He then dribbles Starks’ head off the garage door! “EVERYBODY DIES! Everybody in this tournament dies! This isn’t yours to win, it’s mine!” The Murderhawk Monster leaves Ricky Starks in an absolute mess! Will Archer crush Starks’ dreams to fulfill his own?

Bryan builds speed, but Tay blocks the way! Fans boo as Sammy crawls his way to the chair. Bryan sighs and goes out, but the Brazilian Goddess says timeout! There’s no timeouts here! Bryan pushes past her, but Sammy CHUCKS THE CHAIR!!
The ref saw that and he calls this fall to an end! Bryan goes up one by disqualification!
Bryan: 1; Sammy: 0
Sammy and Tay don’t care, that chair shot means Sammy has an advantage! Sammy whips Bryan into the timekeeper’s table! And then clears it off, to JAM the mic into Bryan again and again and again! He’s going after Bryan’s eye! Sammy gets on the mic to say, “Huh? Huh? What?!” Fans boo but Sammy rains down fists and elbows on Bryan! Dynamite returns and Sammy is still soaking up the heat. The second round has begun and Sammy rains down fists on a busted open Bryan! Sammy shouts at Bryan, rains down more fists, and repeat! Sammy lets off while fans boo. Sammy kicks Bryan around, drags him up, and he talks trash on Bryan. Bryan swings but misses wild. Sammy taunts Bryan and stays just out of range of the fist. And the American Dragon slays the Spanish God! This was wild with just these two! How much more insane will it be when you add Claudio Castagnoli and #THEOCHO, Chris Jericho, to the mix?
My Thoughts:
A great episode for AEW, and with just the go-home next week, they got a lot done here tonight to fill the Full Gear card. Because for one, AEW loves to load a ton of matches onto their PPVs. A great opener from the 8 Man Tag, and there was a brief moment of Keith being reluctant, but that’s the seed planted for the Swerve In Our Glory team falling apart against The Acclaimed. Likewise, FTR and Gunn Club are all but ready to fight over the ROH World Tag Team Championships. Maybe they stretch that out to be for ROH Final Battle as the big return for ROH to PPV. Acclaimed retain, but I feel like there will be Firm shenanigans that cost FTR.
Speaking of The Firm, a great start to the World Title Eliminator Tournament with Ethan VS Eddie, and a big win for Ethan. Stokely also had a good promo dissing MJF, but that was rough placement having it follow MJF’s long but great promo taken right from his podcast appearance. Moxley also had a great response promo, both guys are red hot going into the title match. I know there’s still the possibility that MJF is just setting up a huge swerve and The Firm rejoin him, but I would rather he just cheat all on his own so that he technically proves he can win on his own. Otherwise, it’s as bad as Daniel Garcia going right back to the JAS, but on an even larger scale.
We got good promos from other World Title Eliminator Tournament entrants, such as Cage and Dante’s. But I did like that Rush still ties in his story with Vance, so there’s still the possibility of seeing Rush VS Vance 1v1 as we’ve been waiting on since it was supposed to be Andrade VS Vance 1v1, but who knows when. Rush VS Bandido is going to be awesome and either guy could win that. Cage VS Dante feels like Cage’s win, but it’d be cool if Dante won. And Archer attacking Starks before an interview even happens was a good surprise, but I’m thinking this sets Starks up to win their match. As it stands, Starks and Ethan feel like the finalists for Full Gear.
Seems Daivari’s gimmick isn’t just using money to recruit people, but thinking money can buy him titles. He of course gets whooped by Wardlow, but this segment was more about Wardlow’s rage and ego getting the better of him before Samoa Joe just lets him have it. I hope we get a Winner Takes All Triple Threat between Wardlow, Joe and Hobbs because duh, it’s right there, just do it. Hobbs can be opportunistic in his win so that the odd man out is still strong, and then we can get a 1v1 story after that. Then Final Battle can have just the ROH World TV Championship, the double champ defending against whoever they want.
Pretty good promo from Cargill calling out Nyla, and that’s pretty funny that Nyla is having an open challenge for a title she doesn’t rightfully possess. Nyla is of course winning that, but it’s great story to tease that someone could take the title off Nyla to face Jade instead. Good stuff set up with Best Friends and a few Heel factions. Cassidy VS Lee Johnson will be a good title match but another win for Cassidy. Trent VS Lethal was good stuff but of course Lethal’s friends help him win. And I like that we’re getting Lethal & Jarrett VS Darby & Sting, that’ll be a very fun tag match. I’m pretty sure Jarrett’s team cheats to win since they have Sonjay & Satnam to distract.
Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Christian & Luchasaurus, and I’m wondering what this secret challenge will be. Can’t be a tag match, Christian’s arm is still healing, and I can’t picture anyone that could counter Luchasaurus. Maybe it’ll be a match type that is meant to keep Christian from getting involved, but Christian will find a way, only for it to fail. JB has to win this one to justify the story continuing until Christian is 100% again, and then JB VS Christian is the blow-off. And we got a very good match out of Hayter VS Skye, with Skye looking strong, but of course Hayter wins to build momentum towards her match with Storm.
Sadly, the women’s title is taking a backseat to Saraya VS Britt, and perhaps through no fault of their own. Saraya and Britt had a great promo together, with Britt making good points, but Saraya just tearing Britt apart. Hopefully Saraya really is cleared to have a full on match, and maybe they can book this to not be too rough. It’ll be great just for the fact it’s happening, and as I’ve been saying, Saraya has to win this one. And then the main event was awesome stuff, practically PPV worthy in itself. It was clever that Sammy gave Bryan the first fall with that disqualification to then get the next fall. In the end, Bryan wins out, which was a bit of a surprise, but also makes sense. But at the same time, I feel like this means Bryan does not win the Fatal 4, and we see if Sammy hands the win to Jericho.
My Score: 8.8/10

It’s a battle of machines to begin Maximum Carnage! The Cleaner won at WrestleDynasty, then returned to AEW last week to assure us that while he may not be the Kenny Omega he once was, he’s still going to fight until he’s back on top! But will that comeback begin tonight? Or will not even the former AEW World Champion be better than Cage?
The bell rings and the fans fire up. Callis is on commentary complaining that Omega “assaulted” him last week when Callis simply wanted to welcome Omega back. Omega and Cage tie up, and Cage pushes Omega to a corner. Cage takes a swing but Omega dodges. Omega fires hands in return, then ROCKS Cage, and CHOPS him! Omega keeps moving, dropkicks the other leg, and Cage goes to a corner. The fans fire up as Omega runs in and ELBOWS Cage.
Omega goes to fireman’s carry but Cage is a meaty man. Cage CLUBS Omega, the fans boo, but Cage ROCKS Omega. Cage whips, Omega KICKS him away, then Omega reels Cage in! But Cage is still too meaty for a bomb lift! Omega still wants it, but Cage BACKDROPS him away! The fans boo but Cage scoops Omega for some bicep curls! The fans boo more, but Cage FALL AWAY SLAMS Omega! Callis admires Cage’s muscles as Cage flexes. Cage stalks Omega, RAMS him into the corner again and again. The fans tell off Callis, and Omega facelocks! Cage BACKDROPS free again, then aims from a corner.

MVP speaks.
“I’m not just adept at managing the affairs of the Hurt Syndicate. I am an expert in managing how much oxygen you can breathe. For the first time in two-and-a-half years, MVP’s taking off the suit and lacing up the boots. We are the Hurt Syndicate…” Shelton Benjamin finishes the line with, “And we hurt people.” Will they do just that against Mark Briscoe & Private Party? We find out just after the break.
Chris Jericho speaks.
“Hi, guys~! Welcome to another New York Minute. I hope everybody’s enjoying Dynamite tonight right here in Cincinnati, in the heart of the Bluegrass State. But you’re gonna enjoy yourselves even more this Saturday on Collision, as we get ready for one of the biggest, most anticipated matches in Collision history. It’s gonna be The Learning Tree and Jon Moxley’s Death Riders VS Rated FTR, The Outrunners, and Powerhouse Hobbs.” Bryan Keith says, “That’s a dozen mother effers!” Jericho and Big Bill both give a concerned sideways glance, then Bill continues by saying, “As the Learning Tree always says, ‘Size matters.'”
Jericho says yes it does indeed, Redwood! And they also know all about their opponents, especially Rated FTR! The Learning Tree has already shown that Cope is a Dope, and Harwood is No Good! What’s Jericho got for Cash Wheeler? Uh… Wheeler… is a Kneeler! Get it? Like, he’s kneeling at the feet of the King of New York! Sick burn, LT. Jericho knows everyone is asking why Jericho and Moxley are tagging together, how could they possibly get along? Well, Jericho will say this. He has known Moxley a long time, and he can guarantee that they will be on the same page. Right? That’s it! Another New York Minute! Thanks, guys~!
Well, it is certainly a star-studded 6v6 set up for Saturday, but will things go Jericho’s way? Or will the #RatedFTRunners and The Book of Hobbs be the ones to punctuate Maximum Carnage?
“Everyone, show some love for… Ricochet!”
What? The fans boo as The One & Only makes his way out here, golden scissors in his lapel pocket. Those are the very same scissors Ricochet used to assault Swerve Strickland like a complete psycho! Ricochet tells the fans to hush before he steps into the ring, then he grabs a mic. The fans chant “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Ricochet is very annoyed by this, and he asks they all quiet down. The fans boo instead. Ricochet wants to speak but he’s rather flustered. The “SWERVE’S HOUSE” chants return and that riles Ricochet up a bit more. Ricochet paces, and says, “Y’know what? It’s okay. That’s how it’s gonna be? Listen. A picture is worth a thousand words.” And so on the tron is the image of Ricochet holding a bloodied Swerve up by his dreadlocks.
But then “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” The man himself is here! Ricochet says okay, he’s ready. But no he’s not, cuz Nana slides in from the crowd! Swerve shoves security out of his way, but Ricochet’s escaped to the cold streets of Cincinnati! Will Swerve get his hands on his new target next time?
AEW shares “A Day in the Life of a CEO.”
That is to say, we’re following Mercedes Mone as she does her media rounds. “First, we make money.” Mone was a special guest on the Sherri Shepherd show shortly after winning even more gold at WrestleDynasty. Sherri got to admire the “Queen of Southside” Championship that comes along with the Rev-Pro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, both of which Mone won off Mina Shirakawa. Mone signed autographs, took pictures with fans, and Sherri promised that she’ll be there whenever Mone’s in town. “Then, we shop.” Mone bought herself some new jewelry with the money she surely earned becoming a FOUR BELT CEO.
“Them, we train.” Mone knows it is a New Year, and she is dripping with gold! She also knows having four belts puts an even bigger target on her back, but she stays ready! Whoever wants to jump on the Money Train next, let’s go! #MoneChangesEverything, but will she continue to stack dollars and collect titles?

The Sussex County Chicken was not a chicken when it came to facing down any of the men in the Hurt Syndicate, but that’s why he ended up getting beat up 3v1! Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy came to Briscoe’s rescue, especially since they were told to their faces that the Hurt Syndicate wants the AEW World Tag Team Championships. BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!
After Swerve Strickland almost got his revenge on Ricochet, these two will have THREE WEEKS to prepare themselves for a showdown! Dynamite will be in Atlanta, Georgia on February 5th, who will survive this grudge match?
Jeff Jarrett is here!
Cincinnati cheers as Double J makes his way to the ring, and he grabs a mic to say, “What’s up, Cincinnati? Y’know, the last few weeks, I mean, they sure have been humbling for me.” But then before he can say more, MJF makes his way out here! The fans are torn seeing the Wolf of Wrestling strut out here, and he has them cut his music. MJF steps into the ring with Jarrett, throws his gum into the crowd, and says, “Humbling? Jeff Jarrett, you have yet to learn the definition of the word. Last week, I gave you the opportunity of a lifetime, bud. And you had the audacity to turn me down?”
Jarrett tells Max to not even get started. MJF was too lazy to enter the gauntlet, so he came up with some scheme- MJF shouts for Jarrett to NEVER interrupt him!! The fans boo but MJF cools off. He just wants “Jeffery” to get real. This is MJF. If MJF retired tomorrow, he’d go into the AEW Hall of Fame! He’s a living legend! Jarrett walks around like he is one, too, and he sure has the “dumb shmucks” convinced. But allow MJF to “school all the simple-minded folk on the real legacy of The Last Outlaw. Emphasis on ‘Last,’ because Jeff Jarrett is the last thing you see before your favorite wrestling company dies.”
The fans boo but Jarrett laughs that off. MJF tells Double J that this last year with the possibility of him winning MJF’s Triple B would be “a whole lot cuter and warmer and fuzzier” if Jarrett wasn’t “literally the definition of a pro-wrestling grim reaper.” The fans boo, MJF says he is talking, so what’re they doing? Shut up! MJF continues by saying that when he thinks on Jarrett’s career, it is enough to make him wanna drink. Oh… Sorry, MJF took it way too far. He knows Jarrett is a raging alcoholic. Recovering! Sorry, MJF meant recovering. But hey, MJF just had a great idea! “Listen to me, you fat skank, I’m talking, shut your fat mouth!”
The fans boo but MJF goes on to say he has a great idea. How about for the health of AEW and for Jarrett, MJF sends Jarrett packing back to rehab where he belongs. But hey, do MJF a favor before then. Make sure that sexy wife of his, Karen, sticks around. MJF happens to be a big fan of hers. But hey, he’s not a monster, he’s the Salt of the Earth. So when MJF’s “through with her,” he’ll ship her back to Tennessee for Jarrett. That way, Jarrett can be the first man in history to know what a generational talent and an Olympic gold medalist’s nuts taste like!! The fans boo but Jarrett still laughs MJF off.
“Max, Max, Max… Not only everything you just said was crude and stupid, but it’s all been said before a thousand times. It’s all been done before a thousand times. But let’s get to the heart of the matter, Max. Let’s get to business.” Jarrett knows the best years of his career are behind him. But last Summer, when Jarrett entered the Owen Hart Cup, the AEW fans awakened a passion in him. The fans cheer that! The fans awakened a desire Jarrett didn’t even know he still had. And Jarrett will do everything in his power to keep that fire going, to keep that passion going, because it’s the one thing that puts him on track to the AEW World Championship.
The fans cheer again, and Jarrett tells Max, back to that shtick. MJF thinks he can just poke fun at Jarrett, have his zingers, and hurt Jarrett’s feelings, right? Oh, Max, Jarrett was MJF before MJF was MJF! Everything MJF can say or do, Jarrett has done. He did it before MJF, and he did it better than you. But hey, hold on! Before we get all bent out of shape, MJF kinda confused Jarrett. Jarrett isn’t sure if MJF’s a dumbass or a scumbag. But knowing where MJF comes from, maybe it’s all the above. Because hear Jarrett out, there are days where Jarrett feels sorry for MJF. The fans chant, “He’s Our Scumbag!” and Jarrett agrees.
But see, Jarrett has some family history on this scumbag. MJF had a tough upbringing. It must’ve been tough being raised by a call girl for a mother. And MJF’s ambulance chancing attorney of an old man, well, it must be tough being raised by that. Jarrett knows for a fact that when Mr. Friedman knocked Mrs. Friedman up, she still made him pay for that. MJF is seething but Jarrett tells him to hold on. The old saying goes, “We all marry our mommies.” So that’s very fitting for MJF when his old lady is nothing but a Canadian call girl.
And oh, one final thing. This very ring, the night MJF was tearing the house down with Will Ospreay, that was just his version of 60 Minutes Through. At the same time, in the back parking lot, his old lady was doing her version of 60 Minutes Through, with about ten other wrestlers! Max, look at Jarrett! MJF needs Jarrett, and he doesn’t even know why. But it’s because MJF is drowning in his own s*it! MJF may be lazy, entitled, and a pr*ck, but deep down, he’s a scared little boy. MJF was scared to enter the enter the gauntlet, scared that at just 28 years of age, his best years are behind him, and he’s scared of ever getting back on top.
And like Jarrett said last week, MJF is scared of becoming a one hit wonder! The fans chant “One Hit Wonder!” at MJF, but MJF says no no no! One Hit Wonder? Scared? MJF is NOTHING like Jarrett! MJF didn’t need his daddy to make him a top guy, MJF didn’t need to start his own company to be a top guy, because MJF made MJF! We saw in the past what happens when Jarrett is “King of the Mountain,” but let’s talk about when MJF is king. MJF is the only man to thank for the biggest pro-wrestling show of all time: 82 THOUSAND, Wembley Stadium, AEW All In! MJF is the one to thank for the record PPV buys, record TV ratings, and record ticket sales!
MJF was the BEST IN THE WORLD! The fans do cheer that. MJF says Jarrett can laugh all he wants, because then MJF got screwed. Screwed out of his world championship! His name, his legacy, his reputation, dragged through the mud to this day! The same people who put MJF on a pedestal now have willingly, with a smile on their face, taken it out from under and treated him like nothing! MJF ain’t nothing! And MJF will tell Jeff something! MJF doesn’t want to win the world title, he NEEDS to win it so he can shove it down every single one of their throats! But instead, MJF has to wait in line for Jeff Jarrett?
MJF laughs and say should on here. With all due respect, the people aren’t very bright. And with all due respect, no wrestling fan has ever given a single, solitary s*it about Jarrett. But y’know what really pisses MJF off, Slapnuts? The fact that “just because” Jarrett was best friends with Owen Hart, Jarrett thinks he his owed a grand finale? Jarrett may have had all these stupid, simple-minded shmucks convinced, but MJF sees through Jarrett’s BS. During the Owen Cup, Jeff saw through the “carny succubus.” Jarrett is nothing more than a LEECH, riding the coattails of his DEAD FRIEND!
Oh, did MJF strike a chord now? He thought Jarrett was all tough. Or does he just not like it when MJF talks about his old pal, Owen Hart? JARRETT DECKS MJF! Jarrett rains down fists and the fans fire up! Security rushes out there and they drag Jarrett away, but Jarrett throws them all away! Jarrett CLOBBERS MJF, but Karen rushes out here! Karen gets Jeff to stop, but then MJF grabs Karen in a SLEEPER! The fans boo, MJF throws Karen at Jeff, then runs away. The Wolf of Wrestling is again a worm, will The Last Outlaw make sure to exterminate him once and for all?
BREAKING NEWS for Collision!
Maximum Carnage this Saturday was already big, but now we add some gold! Kazuchika Okada faces former Chaos teammate, Tomohiro Ishii, in a defense of the Continental Championship! Will the Rainmaker make it rain in Cincy? Or will the Stone Pitbull sink his teeth into an AEW title?

AEW hears from the Men’s Casino Gauntlet participants.
Roderick Strong tells “JAAAAY… White,” that Roddy should’ve won that #1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet, but he wants White to know that Roddy’s not done with him yet. The Switchblade’s response is that Roddy Strong shoulda-coulda-woulda. If Roddy wanted to win so badly, he should’ve tried harder. As for Wheeler Yuta, he was the one to stop White. So if Yuta wants White’s attention, then fine! He’s got it! As for Adam Cole, he said that match had the best of the best. It had Hangman Page, it had Daniel Garcia, and- Kyle O’Reilly stops Cole there. Danny Garcia? Really? Kyle doesn’t see it. Not everyone is as good as they say they are, Adam.
Garcia himself says people keep saying that Garcia is stretching himself just a little bit thin. If he’s TNT Champion, why’s he in the Continental Classic? Why’s he in a Casino Gauntlet? Garcia wants to fight every single week! So if you want a shot at Garcia’s gold… Cole says The Undisputed Kingdom IS as good as they say they are, and in 2025, they promise us… #LetsGetIt! The Kingdom will get their hands on gold, and that is undisputed! Everyone’s gunning for someone, but who gets what they want? And who gets just what they deserve?
Backstage interview with Jeff Jarrett.
AEW returns as Renee Paquette is with Double J, and she brings up that confrontation between him and MJF. Jarrett said the AEW audience has awoken the passion in him, and that MJF is scared. But then MJF got under Jarrett’s skin, so where do they go from here? Jarrett takes a moment to think, but then Dustin Rhodes steps in! The Natural says what MJF said pissed him off, too. Dustin asks Jarrett, “How many years have we known each other? How many years have we driven up and down these roads, grinding our asses off because of the passion and love for this business? A lot. He doesn’t know a thing about that, and you know that.”
Dustin says MJF’s been in this business a minute, yet he’ll dictate to Jarrett and disrespect him? THAT pisses Dustin off! Dustin is 110% behind Jarrett, and wants Jarrett to fulfill the dream of becoming AEW World Champion. Max doesn’t know everything that guys like Jarrett and Dustin have been through. Knocked down, dragged through s*it, and then gotten back up, because that’s what they do! MJF has no clue! Whatever MJF does to Jarrett, Dustin knows Jarrett’s been through it. Just like Dustin has. But remember this: You’re Jeff Jarrett! A 12-TIME WORLD CHAMPION, and that means something!
Jarrett is the Last Outlaw, and outlaws never die. So please, just remember this. The two of them, they are the very last of their kind. Will this motivation from the dual ROH World Tag Team & ROH World Six Man Tag Champion be fuel on the fire that Jarrett uses to reach the mountaintop?
Mariah May is here!
The Glamour brings her AEW Women’s World Championship to commentary as she prepares to watch the women’s division fight for their shot at her.
AEW Women’s World Championship #1 Contender’s Casino Gauntlet!
The gentlemen had their fun, now the ladies finally get to roll the dice! The first-ever Women’s Casino Gauntlet will send one woman to Grand Slam: Australia, who faces “The Woman From Hell” when AEW goes Down Under?
Kris Statlander is first, a right she earned when she defeated Willow Nightingale and Toni Storm in last week’s Triple Threat. But who starts with her? It’s JAMIE HAYTER! Hayter Hits Hard, but will she punch her ticket to Australia? The bell rings, we’re on the clock, and Mariah thanks commentary for having her. She also asks Taz that now that he’s got a new knee, wanna roll around later? Taz says he is happily married but he’s flattered by the offer. Oh, she meant in the ring. Well, Taz is also retired, so he can’t. Meanwhile, Hayter and Kris tie up, go around, go along the ropes, and the fans duel.
Mariah says Hayter is the best woman to come out of Britain not named Mariah May. The ref counts a ropebreak but Hayter and Kris move off ropes. Hayter headlocks, Kris powers up but can’t pull out as Hayter holds on. Kris tries again, gets free, and they RAM shoulders! The fans cheer as neither woman budges. Hayter runs, RAMS Kris again, then kicks low! Hayter runs, Kris dodges and she runs Hayter over! The fans fire up while Kris flexes, but Hayter stands up. Hayter runs up, Kris avoids a boot but Hayter ducks a roundhouse. Hayter ripcords, Kris ducks the lariat and comes back, but now Hayter dodges!
Both women run in, and DOUBLE LARIATS collide! Neither woman falls, but then Hayter BOOTS Kris! The fans fire up and Mariah says she might actually prefer fighting someone tonight so she won’t have to fly down to Australia. Hayter CLUBS away on Kris, kicks her down, then brings her up for a suplex. Kris slips free, shoves Hayter, but Hayter rebounds. Hayter ducks a lariat, the countdown is here, but Kris kicks low! FISHERMAN BUSTER! But number three is here, and it’s… MEGAN BAYNE!? Even Mariah is shocked to see “The Megasus” return to AEW after quite the stint in Stardom, GCW, and has even won the HOG Women’s Championship!
Mariah laughs in disbelief, is Bayne even eligible for this match? Where’s her “is All Elite” graphic? Go ask Tony Khan where that tweet is! Bayne still steps into the ring, and she stands face to face with Kris! The fans fire up as the forearms fly! Bayne ROCKS Kris, RAMS her into the corner again and again, then CHOPS! Bayne whips corner to corner, runs up, and SPLASHES! Then she whips again, but Kris reverses! Kris UPPERCUTS Bayne, runs corner to corner, but Bayne LEAPING LARIATS! The fans fire up and Bayne hauls Kris to her feet. Bayne suplexes, Kris fights that to suplex, but Bayne fights back!
Bayne suplexes to FALCON ARROW! Cover, Hayter breaks it! The fans fire up as now Hayter stares Bayne down. Hayter fires forearms, but Bayne is not impressed! Hayter runs, but Bayne kicks her low! Bayne reels Hayter in, suplexes, and she holds Hayter up! The countdown is back, but Hayter counters with a DDT! The fourth woman is here, and it’s… JULIA HART! The Princess of the Black Throne got a win off Hayter not that long ago, and she dares Hayter to come back for more! They brawl at the ramp! The fans fire up as Hayter CLUBS away on Julia, then snap suplexes her on the ramp! Julia writhes, Kris and Bayne brawl ringside, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Mariah is only a little worried, but Hayter CLUBS away on Julia in the ring. Bayne sends Kris into barriers! Hayter and Julia fire fists, then Hayter ROCKS Julia! Hayter whips, Julia reverses and wrenches to STO! Cover, Kris breaks it! Kris drags Julia up but Julia JAWBREAKERS free! Julia fires forearms, then whips, but Kris reverses. Kris runs in at the corner, but Julia STOMPS her down! Julia storms around, goes to the far corner, then runs back in. But Kris hits a SNAP POWERSLAM! Kris drags Julia up, TOSSES her out, and Bayne is there to scoop Julia! SLAM to the floor! Julia writhes but Bayne storms into the ring.
Kris and Bayne meet again, and Bayne pie faces Kris! Kris pie faces back! The pie faces go back and forth, then turn into forearms! Kris and Bayne fire fast ‘n’ furious shots, then Bayne ROKCS Kris! Bayne runs, but Kris ROCKS her! Kris runs, but Bayne follows to ROCK her back! Bayne runs, but Kris UPEPRCUTS her! And CHOPS! And ROCKS! And CHOPS! Repeat! Kris keeps on Bayne again and again, then runs, only for Bayne to fireman’s carry! Kris fights free, ROUNDHOUSES Bayne, then PELES! Kris roars, runs, but gets caught! EXPLODER! Bayne fires up, and Julia POSTS Hayter! Julia stomps away on Hayter, Bayne brings Kris up, and snap suplexes her!
Maximum Carnage returns to single picture as Kris flops out of the ring. Julia CLUBS Hayter, and the countdown is back! Bayne waits on the fifth woman, and it’s… WILLOW NIGHTINGALE! Mariah sighs, but the Babe with the Power steps right to Bayne! Willow BOOTS, but Bayne just frowns. Willow fires forearms, then whips, but Bayne reverses to ROCK Willow! And BOOT her down! Kris returns to waistlock Bayne, but she ducks an elbow! JAWBREAKER, HAYMAKER, then Kris CLUBS away on Bayne! Hayter turns things around on Julia and whips her hard into barriers! Willow & Kris work together to DOUBLE SUPLEX Bayne!
The fans fire up, and Kris & Willow smile as it’s like the old days. Mariah mocks the “friendship” while the two square up. Willow CHOPS Kris, Kris CHOPS back, repeat! The fans “WOO~” as each CHOP echoes out! Willow ducks a chop, shoves Kris, then runs to POUNCE~! PERIOD! The countdown is back already, and the sixth woman is… TONI STORM! The Rockstar “Rookie” is back, and Mariah really hates seeing this. Toni storms in in but willow fireman’s carries! Toni sunset flips, TWO! Willow storms up but into a snapmare! Toni RUNS Willow over, snapmares Julia and runs her over!
Hayter is back, Toni snapmares her to run her over! Then a snapmare and shoulder tackle for Kris! The fans fire up with Toni and Mariah mockingly plays along, “What a great rookie!” But Bayne CLOBBERS Toni! Bayne fireman’s carries Toni, then THROWS her out onto Kris! The fans rally, “She’s a Rookie!” Willow CLOBBERS Bayne! Hayter BOOTS Willow! Julia kicks Hayter to DDT! Willow LARIATS Julia! The fans fire up as Willow stands tall, and she goes to the apron. CROSSBODY onto Bayne! Willow smiles and poses, the fans cheer, and Willow drags Bayne up. Bayne and Willow throw hands, but Kris is on the stage?
The fans fire up as Kris SUPER CANNONBALLS! Down goes Willow & Bayne, and the fans fire up with Kris! But Toni HIP ATTACKS Kris off the apron! Julia BLASTS Toni! Julia and Hayter are all alone, Cincy fires up for “Women’s Wrestling!” but also the countdown! Julia and Hayter fire fast ‘n’ furious fists, but the seventh woman is… HARLEY CAMERON! Mariah sighs again as everyone now will FEEL THE WRATH! Harley runs up to ROCK Julia, then bump her off buckles! Harley goes up, in, and dodges Julia to ENZIGIRI! Cover, Hayter breaks it with a deadlift GERMAN SUPLEX! Hayter snarls but Julia runs up to clinch!
Hayter wrenches free, clinches, and HAYT-BREAKER! But Harley rolls Hayter up! TWO!! Hayter escapes, Harley ENZIGIRIS! “FEEL THA WRATH~!” Harley runs, but into a HAYT-BREAKER! Hayter pumps up, for the HAYTER- NO, Harley ducks the lariat! But Julia’s BLACK MIST hits Harley full in the face! Then SUPERKICK for Hayter! Julia runs to BLINDSIDE LARIAT! But Toni snatches Julia into a cradle! TONI WINS!!
Winner: Toni Storm, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the AEW Women’s World Championship)
Mariah is mockingly happy for “the rookie,” and Toni herself is stunned that she’s getting a world title match in her home country! This is quite the remake of a timeless classic, but will they flip the script on the original? Or will it still be All About Mariah?
AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley w/ The Death Riders VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs!
The last time The Maniac was in the Book of Hobbs, it was AEW Homecoming, and it was for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Moxley didn’t so much win as he did retain, given Hobbs went down with injury rather quickly. But while Moxley traded NJPW’s top title for AEW’s, Hobbs only has a bigger chip on his shoulder. Will Hobbs come through on his promise to make Jon Moxley his b*tch? Or will Moxley make sure his homecoming is a victorious one?
The introductions are made, but Moxley delays getting in the ring so that the rest of the Death Riders can flank the ring! Hobbs sees Pac, he sees Claudio, but then Moxley runs in and CLOBBERS Hobbs! The bell rings, the fans boo, but Moxley fires forearms in a corner! Moxley doesn’t stop as the ref counts, the ref tries to back him off, but Moxley gets in the ref’s face about it. Hobbs storms up to hoist Moxley up! OVERHEAD SUPLEX! Hobbs fires hands on Moxley now, the fans fire up, but the ref counts. Hobbs ROCKS Moxley, then stalks him to a corner. Hobbs CLUBS Moxley in the chest, then stalks him to another corner.
Hobbs pushes Moxley against buckles, CLUBS him again, then paces. The fans rally, Hobbs whips, but Moxley KCIKS and CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Hobbs just scowls, so Moxley fires forearms! Moxley runs, but Hobbs RUNS Moxley over! The fans fire up, but there are some Moxley fans still in Cincy. Hobbs goes out after Moxley and ROCKS him! Moxley dangles over barriers, but Hobbs CLUBS him! The ref wants this in the ring so Hobbs pushes him in. Hobbs storms in, Moxley fires kicks, then fires forearms! Moxley runs, BOOTS Hobbs, and he has Hobbs in the ropes!
Moxley runs, BOOTS Hobbs again, then he runs! Moxley DIVES and hits Hobbs into barriers! Moxley pursues, they go around the timekeeper’s area, and now they brawl in the crowd! The fans fire up, Hobbs CHOPS Moxley, but the ref wants this in the ring! Hobbs pursues Moxley, CLUBS him, then keeps after him. They go back to ringside, Hobbs CLAWS Moxley’s back, then shoves him over barriers! Hobbs stalks Moxley back into the ring, Moxley wants Hobbs to hold on, and then Moxley CLAWS Hobbs’ face! Then he BITES Hobbs’ face! Moxley has Hobbs in a corner and rains down fists! The fans count to TEN, then Moxley flips Hobbs off!
Cincy is all fired up, both for and against Moxley, but Hobbs just glares up at him. Moxley talks trash, but Hobbs carries Moxley from the corner! Moxley fires elbows, but Hobbs RAMS him into buckles! Hobbs puts Moxley up top, climbs up after him, and he pulls on that earring in Moxley’s left ear! Hobbs tells the ref to back off, and then he BITES Moxley’s ear! And then BITES it again! Is he trying to eat the earring?! The ref counts, Hobbs lets off and lets Moxley tumble while fans tell him he’s sick. Moxley staggers up, but Hobbs BLASTS him off the apron! The fans rally while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Hobbs snarls, just a bit of blood in his teeth from biting Moxley. Hobbs paces while Marina Shafir checks on Moxley. Hobbs then goes out the side, storms around the way, and he looms over Moxley. Hobbs whips Moxley into barriers! Moxley tumbles over and into the timekeeper’s area! Hobbs is after Moxley with a rain of fists! The ref reprimands, Hobbs stops and goes back to the ring. Hobbs then goes back out to fetch Moxley. Hobbs BITES the ear again! Moxley pushes Hobbs away and staggers around, that ear definitely bleeding. Hobbs storms up to BITE the ear more! Hobbs is going savage, but Moxley dares him to do more!
Moxley fires a forearm, but Hobbs juts ROCKS Moxley! Moxley staggers away, Hobbs pursues him to the steel steps, and they both go back to the ring. Moxley staggers around a little more, and Hobbs pumps up! Hobbs ROCKS Moxley again! Moxley bounces off ropes then falls over! Hobbs stalks Moxley, drags him up, and he ROCKS Moxley again! Moxley wobbles but stays up, even with that ear bleeding. Moxley fires a forearm, but Hobbs shrugs that off. Moxley fires another forearm, and another, and another! Hobbs ROCKS Moxley again! Moxley falls over, the ref checks him, but Moxley is already rising back up.
Moxley pounds the mat, and he eggs Hobbs on. Hobbs BOOTS Moxley down! Moxley rises, the blood from his ear making more a crimson scarf than a mask. Hobbs BOOTS Moxley again! Moxley roars, so Hobbs BOOTS him again! Maximum Carnage returns to single picture as Moxley rises up. Hobbs BOOTS him, but Moxley SLAPS Hobbs! Hobbs runs, but into a CUTTER! Moxley lured Hobbs into a trap, but both men are down! The fans fire up as Moxley crawls, and Moxley dares Hobbs to bring the fight. Both men stand, Moxley fires a forearm, but Hobbs returns fire! The fans are torn as the forearms go back and forth!
Hobbs runs, Moxley TOSSES him out! Moxley distracts the ref so that Marina can BOOT Hobbs! The fans definitely boo that, but Moxley goes out to drag Hobbs up. Moxley puts Hobbs in, takes aim, and then underhooks Hobbs! Hobbs powers up, breaks free, then CLOBBERS Moxley! Moxley flounders to a corner, the fans rally and duel, and Hobbs feeds off the “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Hobbs runs up to CLOBBER Moxley! Moxley rises, Hobbs LARIATS again! Mox is back up, Hobbs SPLASHES in the corner! Hobbs winds up to fire point-blank LARIATS in the corner again and again! The fans rally, Hobbs stops at the ref’s count.
Hobbs scoops, Moxley slips free! Underhook and- NO, Hobbs scoops Moxley! WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM!! Cover, TWO!! Moxley survives, Marina is relieved, but Hobbs puts Moxley on the top rope. Hobbs climbs, scoops, and lifts Moxley for a SUPER SWINGING POWERSLAM! But Moxley rolls through to have the ARMBAR!! Moxley pulls on the arm, Hobbs endures, and the fans duel even harder! Moxley pulls but Hobbs manages to clasp hands! Hobbs turns and has the ROPEBREAK! Moxley lets go, but then he has Hobbs for a KIMURA int he ropes! The ref counts, Moxley stops and Hobbs crawls to the ramp.
The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but this show has to end somehow. Hobbs rises, and WHEELER YUTA BUSAIKU KNEES!! The Decoder finally shows himself and it was at the most opportune time! The fans boo as Yuta then slithers away, and Moxley goes out after Hobbs. Moxley drags Hobbs into the ring, then vows to end this! But Hobbs hits a SPINEBUSTER!! The fans fire up and Hobbs brings down the straps! Hobbs snarls, brings Moxley up into a torture rack, but Moxley slips free! SLEEPER! Hobbs goes to the ropes, BUCKS Moxley, but then Marina SMACKS Hobbs with the title briefcase!!
The fans boo again but Moxley rolls Hobbs up! TWO?!?! Hobbs survives another cheap shot and the fans fire up! Moxley underhooks, PARADIGM SHIFT!! Cover, TWO!??! Moxley is furious but he clamps on the BULLY CHOKE!! Hobbs endures, but he fades out! Moxley wins!!
Winner: Jon Moxley, by submission (still AEW World Champion)
Hobbs lost only because this turned into a 5v1 handicap match! And speaking of, that’s what’s happening again as The Death Riders mug Hobbs! They stomp away, then sit Hobbs up. Claudio has a chair! But Hobbs THROWS Yuta, CHOKES Pac, but Claudio CHOP BLOCKS the bad leg! Claudio pulls the leg brace off while Pac & Mox CHOKE Hobbs! Yuta adds stomps, and Moxley SMASHES the bad leg! Claudio puts the chair around the bad leg, they want to put Hobbs back on the shelf! Claudio STOMPS the chair!! But here comes Rated FTR!! A little too late, unfortunately, and The Death Riders retreat.
Adam Copeland, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood check on Hobbs, but there’s a chance the 12 Man Tag just turned into a 6v5 Handicap Match. Will anyone ever be able to stop Moxley’s reign of terror? Or will the carnage not end with Collision?
My Thoughts:
A great episode for AEW, though I’m not sure on their own claim of “It’s like a PPV on TV!” I only say that because we got the usual TV level shenanigans in a few of these matches. Omega VS Cage was a great match for Omega’s return to AEW, but Omega VS Gabe at WrestleDynasty is a hard act to follow. Great win for Omega, but of course The Don Callis Family beats him up. A little surprised they also got the better of Ospreay, but when it was 4v2, that made sense. I’m sure we’ll get Omega & Ospreay against like, Archer & Cage, that’s a win, and then Omega & Ospreay face Kyle & Konosuke. Maybe that’s another win, maybe not, but it feels like they want Omega VS Konosuke for something big, especially while Konosuke is a double champion.
Very good promo from MVP before the Six Man Tag, but did we need a New York Minute with Jericho? Well, I guess it had to happen some time so Jericho could get his digs in on Rated FTR, but maybe it could’ve been after the Six Man Tag? We got that promo and the Mercedes Mone vignette between MVP’s promo and the Six Man Tag and it seemed like an odd choice. Mone’s promo was still good stuff, and an idea of Mone VS Athena is floating around the fandom. I feel like they’d save that closer to All In: Texas, as Athena is from Texas. That’s months from now but I could still see both Mone and Athena having the belts they have now going into that match.
Great Six Man Tag but I figured the Hurt Syndicate would win. And while we got a good promo from all the different Casino Gauntlet entries, I really hope TK isn’t pivoting away from Garcia VS Shelton for the TNT Championship. Granted, Kyle O’Reilly VS Daniel Garcia would make an awesome one-off. Jay White VS Roddy Strong will also be a really good 1v1 match, but I would think White sticks to going after Yuta and the Death Riders. Very good promo from Ricochet, in that he barely got to say anything because of the Heel heat he’s got. Swerve & Nana getting the drop on Ricochet was good stuff, too, but I have no idea why we’re waiting THREE WEEKS for their match when it won’t even be on Grand Slam: Australia or anything.
Okada VS Ishii for Collision is great stuff, but I don’t understand when that promo they showed happened. Did I somehow miss it last Saturday on Collision? Or was that supposed to be part of tonight’s show that they had to trim for time? And I think I can see why they’d have to trim it: MJF and Jeff Jarrett took too damn long to get to the point. Both guys made good points, but they either played to the crowd too much, or Jarrett was searching for the words to insult MJF back. Dustin having a part was good, too, but I don’t see him factoring into the rest of the story.
Great match from Christian VS Hook, and I suppose the disqualification finish protects both sides. Was Joe out that long for injury? It’s the only thing that would explain why Joe never returned to finish things with Jericho while it was still relevant. Now, Joe, Hook & Shibata are feuding with Patriarchy instead Great stuff with the Women’s Casino Gauntlet, such as Megan Bayne making a great return to AEW. Though I’m sure they could’ve added a couple more entrants to beef this up a bit more. Again, maybe time constraints because of MJF and Jarrett. But in the end, what a clever way to get us back to Mariah VS Toni. There’s literally a month left to build this, I can’t wait to see the promos from “new girl” Toni with “veteran” Mariah.
And of course, a great match from Moxley VS Hobbs, especially with Hobbs going for ear blood. But of course The Death Riders got involved all over the place to screw Hobbs out of that win. At least Hobbs still got to look strong surviving as many cheap tactics as he did. But I really hate the trope of a Face rescue that’s “a little too late.” If Rated FTR was here, and they were seeing this happen, why not get out there before Hobbs’ knee gets chair guillotined? I understand them wanting to put the cliche “pressure” on the Faces for Collision, as Hobbs is the strongest part of that team and now he’s far less than 100%, but c’mon. Also, pretty sure The Death Riders will abandon The Learning Tree to have them lose to Rated FTRunners, as they’re above such a mess of a match.
My Score: 8.7/10
