This team is back at it and get another win! Will they be the ones facing Aussie Open for those ROH World Tag Team Championships down the line?

ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament, Opening Round: Tony Nese w/ The Varsity Athletes VS Cheeseburger!

The Premier Athlete has been going on and on and on about his physical fitness, and he certainly doesn’t eat greasy fast food. But will that mean this All Beef Underdog be too much for Nese and his eight pack? Or will Nese chew him up, spit him out, and move on to the next round?

Of course Sterling has to talk… And he says his client has something to say. Nese tells New Jersey, “There’s a reason why all of you are sitting out there, and this beautiful body is on TV. Because this beautiful body is championship material, and soon, I’m gonna have the hardware to back it up.” And Nese says it is fitting that his opponent’s name is “Cheeseburger.” Yeah, the “tubbies” would cheer for a fattening food. “Did you all know that cheeseburgers are destroying this country!?” Fans rally up for “CHEESE-BUR-GER! CHEESE-BUR-GER!”

But Nese says he has amazing news. Before he throws Burger in the trash, he’s gonna help the fans burn off the burgers they’ve been stuffing down all day! Because right here and now, they’re gonna do GROUP TRAINING! Nese wants everyone to stand up and stretch! Raise your hands to the sky, stop sitting on your asses! Let’s do jumping jacks! But wait, here comes Cheeseburger! Fans fire up as New Jersey’s own is ready for a fight! The bell rings and Burger offers the Code of Honor. Nese accepts it reluctantly, and then rushes in! Burger gets around, waistlocks, but Nese reaches back. Burger avoids the headlock to ROCK Nese!

Nese RAMS Burger to a corner and fires off fast hands! The ref counts, Nese lets off and he fires up! Fans rally for Burger as Nese whips him corner to corner. Burger goes up and around and baits Nese into knuckle locks. Burger wrenches, sticks a leg out as bait and Nese falls for it. Burger leap frogs, says kiss this, then slides under to block a haymaker to body shot! Burger wrenches, climbs up onto Nese, and has the escalara armlock! Burger flexes, then traps that arm to TWEAK it! Burger kips up and fans fire up! Nese goes to ropes, Burger runs in and wrenches to ELBOW BREAKER! Burger fires off on the arm, then has Nese in a corner.

Nese blocks the whip by holding ropes, but Burger keeps trying. Nese kicks low, whips Burger to the corner, and runs in, but only gets buckles as Burger goes to the apron! Burger goes up but Nese trips him up! TOP SHELF KICK! And then GUT BUSTER DROP! Cover, TWO! Nese scowls as Burger survives, but the fans rally up. Nese stomps Burger, drags him up, and puts him up top. Nese puts Burger in the Tree of Woe, then he goes to the far corner. Fans boo but Nese runs in, to then sit down and do AB CRUNCH KICKS! The ref counts, Nese lets off at 4, and Burger flops out of the Tree. Nese then wraps on the body scissors!

Burger endures the squeeze and fans rally up. Burger throws elbows, shifts around, and he rains down fists! Nese pushes Burger away, then he ROCKS Burger with a left! Nese reels Burger in, suplexes, but Burger blocks! Nese ROCKS Burger again, reels him back in, and he mocks the fans rallying up. Nese suplexes, but Burger knees back! Nese still holds on, but Burger knees free! Nese SOBATS, mocks the fans, but Burger suplexes Nese! Fans fire up with Burger and he rises to his feet! Nese goes to a corner, Burger runs in to forearm SMASH! And then BULLDOG! Burger drags Nese up but Nese shoves him away.

Burger cartwheels to evade, and he SUPERKICKS! Nese staggers, fans fire up as Burger heats it up, SHOTEI!! Cover, TWO!??! Nese survives the strike handed down from Jushin Thunder Liger! But Burger says he won’t stop there, he goes for an arm! But Nese RAMS him into buckles, and fireman’s carries! But Burger pries on the arm! Burger waistlocks, Nese switches, Burger switches, repeat! Burger then changes the pattern up to DDT!! Cover, TWO!! Nese survives but the fans are with Burger! Burger reheats it, but Sterling distracts! Fans boo, Nese runs in, but Burger dodges! Backslide, roll through, Nese slips under to pump handle!

Nese scoops, LANDSLIDE! Cover, Nese wins!

Fans boo as the Varsity Athletes screw over Burger! Nese flexes on Burger as he moves on, but will he be able to make it to the finals?

ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament, Opening Round: Gravity VS Anthony Henry!

The brother of Bandido lost to Pac on Dynamite, and he certainly won’t forget The Bastard now. But will Gravity rise back up towards a title opportunity? Or will the Saint of Augusta make up for JD Drake falling just earlier tonight?

The Code of Honor is not upheld as Henry kicks the handshake. The bell rings, the two circle, and Henry trips Gravity, goes after an arm, and he wrenches Gravity to a top wristlock. Henry brings Gravity down but Gravity bridges up! Gravity flips through the armlock to arm-drag, and then he kips up! Fans cheer as Gravity eggs Henry on. They tie up, Henry wrangles Gravity again, steps on him, then brings him up. Henry wrenches and wrangles Gravity but Gravity kips and bounces and keeps going, and fans cheer as he goes for about TEN! But Henry lets go and Gravity drops! Fans boo but Henry goes back for the arm.

Henry wrenches, Gravity spins to headlock, then Gravity wrenches to a wristlock. Henry rolls, handsprings, wrenches, but Gravity handsprings through the wringer! Fans cheer, but Henry BOOTS Gravity down! Henry calls Gravity stupid, and he whips Gravity to ropes. Gravity holds ropes, BOOTS back, then dumps Henry out! Gravity ROCKS Henry, builds speed, and fans fire up as Gravity FLIES! Direct hit at the ramp! Fans fire up and Gravity brings Henry up. Gravity whips but Henry reverses, only for Gravity to handstand on the apron. But Henry SUPERKICKS, then APRON BACK SUPLEXES!

Henry stands on the apron, and he traps Gravity’s head to NECK TWIST! Fans boo but Henry soaks it up. Henry looms over Gravity, mocks the fans cheering, and he eggs Gravity on. So Gravity CHOPS! And CHOPS! And shoves, ducks, leaps, but into a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO! Henry keeps on Gravity with another NECK TWIST! And he holds onto the neck! Gravity gets free but Henry drags Gravity back up. Henry snapmares Gravity, puts some stank on the kick pad, but then clamps on a neck wrench! Henry then KICKS Gravity in the back! Gravity writhes but Henry mocks the fans as they boo.

Henry scuffs Gravity, eggs him on, and fans rally. Henry stomps a hand and shouts at Gravity to get up! Gravity rises, Henry brings him around, but Gravity CHOPS! And CHOPS! Henry throat chops! Th ref reprimands, Henry whips but Gravity reverses to trophy lift! But Henry slips free! Henry waistlocks, but Gravity throws elbows and Henry staggers away! Gravity runs in, Arabian Press ARM-DRAG! Gravity runs, ducks n’ dodges and handspring BACK ELBOWS! Then trophy lift, and the MILITARY PRESS DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Gravity keeps his focus and he hurries up the corner!

Fans rally up for “GRA-VI-TY!” but Henry yanks him down! Henry swings, misses, Gravity tilt-o-whirls and hooks Henry up, MOUSE TRAP into a GROUND OCTOPUS! Henry endures and powers his way around to a STRETCH MUFFLER! Gravity endures, sits up and slips around, sunset flip! TWO and Henry PENALTY KICKS! Henry drags Gravity up, fisherman for a SPINNING AOI SHODO!! Cover, TWO!?!? How did Gravity survive!? But Henry doesn’t hesitate, he goes right up! DIVING DOUBLE- NO, Gravity dodges! Henry ROCKS Gravity, CLUBS him, then reels him in! Canadian Rack, CLIFFHANGER DDT! Cover, TWO!!!

Henry is furious but the fans fire back up! Henry paces as Gravity stirs. Gravity rises up again, but he ducks the roundhouse to CHOP! Henry still storms up, but Gravity ROCKS him with forearm after forearm! Henry ROUNDHOUSES after all! And ENZIGURIS! Henry runs, but Gravity spins him around, KNEES and SNAP POWERSLAMS!! Gravity puts Henry in a drop zone, goes up top, and GRAVITY SPLASH! Cover, Gravity wins!

Winner: Gravity, by pinfall (advances to the next round)

The semifinals just got a lot more high octane as this rising star joins the field! Will Gravity bring down the competition to then challenge Samoa Joe?

ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament, Opening Round: Shane Taylor VS Serpentico!

And the opening round wraps up as Big Bad Shaney T. meets #SNAKEMAN! Who will be the fourth man in and the fourth man out on the night?

The Code of Honor is not upheld as Shane slaps the hand away. The bell rings, fans rally as Shane and Serpentico circle. Serpentico dodges a haymaker to fire a forearm, then he bobs ‘n’ weaves! Serpentico SLAPS Shane, but Shane choke grips! Serpentico breaks free, fires off fast hands, but Shane blocks the whip! Shane whips Serpentico to scoop him, but Serpentico RANAS Shane to a corner! Serpentico GAMANGRIS, then CHOPS! Serpentico fires off forearms and ROCKS Shane! Fans rally up, but Shane shoves Serpentico down! And DECKS him! Shane is all fired up, and he drags Serpentico back up.

Shane TOSSES Serpentico across the ring! Serpentico writhes, Shane storms up and drags Serpentico up. “Now we having fun, right?” Shane TOSSES Serpentico again! Shane grins as Serpentico flops out of the ring. Shane drags him back in, then stands on Serpentico at the ropes! The ref counts, Shane steps away at 4, then he runs in to BACK BODY BLOCK! Shane runs, rolls and LARIATS Serpentico inside out!! Cover, TWO!! Serpentico survives but Shane is just amused. Shane drags Serpentico up, scoops him, but Serpentico slips free! Serpentico goes to a corner, Shane storms up but into a SUPERKICK! But Shane BODY SHOTS in return!

Shane watches Serpentico writhe and flounder. The ref wants Shane to hold on while he checks Serpentico, but Shane says no thanks! WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM! Cover, TWO!?! Serpentico hangs tough but Shane grins as he gets to do more damage. Shane slaps Serpentico around, talks some trash, and Serpentico wants mercy. Fans rally, Shane says no mercy. So Serpentico flips him off! Shane bends that finger! Serpentico avoids the haymaker, mule kicks, ROCKS and SUPERKICKS! Serpentico runs in at the corner, but Shane puts him on the apron. Serpentico GAMANGIRIS again!

Serpentico climbs while Shane staggers, and Serpentico CROSSBODIES! But Shane catches him with ease! Serpentico throws elbows and gets free, but Shane bobs ‘n’ weaves to HEADBUTT! RIPCORD URENAGE! Then the SPLASH DOWN! Cover, Shane wins!

Winner: Shane Taylor, by pinfall (advances to the next round)

And there you have it! Shane was once a dominant ROH World TV Champion, will he dominate this tournament to reestablish his reign?

Six Man Tag: Dalton Castle & The Boys VS The Trustbusters!

We saw the Mogul Embassy hold onto the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships, and we’ve seen The Peacock & Tate Twins battle them for those titles. Will Castle & The Boys win here to get just one more crack at Cage, Kaun & Liona? Or will go belly up against Slim J, Jeeves Kay & Sonny Kiss?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the trios sort out, and Jeeves starts with Castle. Jeeves talks trash on Castle, but Castle ROCKS Jeeves! And whips him to the corner, and BOOTS him! Tag to Brandon, tag to Brent, and they double whip to double leap frog and DOUBLE ARM-DRAG! Cover, ONE! Brent keeps on Jeeves but Jeeves throws hands! Tag to Kiss, Kiss & Kay mug Brent, then Kiss digs a boot into Brent’s face! The ref reprimands, Kiss lets off and then waits on Brent. Brent gets away to tag in Castle and fans cheer this rare encounter. Castle and Kiss circle, tie up, and Castle puts Kiss into a corner.

The fans rally, the ref counts, and Castle lets off. But then Kiss SLAPS Castle! Castle scowls, runs up, but Kiss dodges, Castle dodges, Kiss dodges, repeat! And again, and again! Fans fire up as the dodging continues again and again! Castle stops the cycle, then runs in, but into a headscissor and ax kick! Kiss goes up, leaps, but into Castle’s arms! EXPLODER! Tag to Brent and he runs in to ROCK Kiss! Brent whips, Kiss reverses but Slim trips Brent up! Brent ELBOWS Kiss away, Slim runs in but Brent TOSSES him out! Brent SHOTGUNS Jeeves but Kiss DECKS Brent! Then SPLIT LEG DROP! Cover, TWO!

Kiss tags Jeeves and Jeeves runs up to ROCK Brent! Jeeves scoops to SLAM and SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Jeeves has Kiss jump in, and Jeeves says, “You wanna see something cool?” Jeeves back suplexes but Brent lands on his feet! But then Kiss back suplexes, only for Brent to land out of it again! Wow, that was cool! Brent staggers back, Kiss runs in but into a BOOT! Brent ELBOWS Slim down, Jeeves runs in but Brent goes up and over! Hot tag back to Castle! Fans fire up as Castle rallies on Jeeves! Jeeves dodges one but not the next! Kiss runs in, but gets an ELBOW! Slim runs in, but gets an EXPLODER!

Jeeves returns, to get an EXPLODER! Fans fire up with Castle and he looks around. The Trustbusters are all down on the outside, and he asks who is legal? Well that doesn’t matter! “BRING ME A BOY!” Brandon runs in, Castle LAUNCHES him onto Kiss & Slim! Then Castle TOSSES Brent onto Jeeves! Brent puts Jeeves in, Castle hoists him up, but Jeeves claws free! Jeeves POSTS Castle, rolls Castle up, with tights! TWO!! Castle escapes but Jeeves snarls. Jeeves whips, Castle reverses and Jeeves ends up on the apron. Jeeves shoulder sin, slingshots up and over, but into the Alabama! BANGARANG!! Cover, Castle & The Boys win!

Winners: Dalton Castle & The Boys, by pinfall

A great win for this trio, but it is a long climb back up the mountain. Castle says he isn’t having fun, because the fans are in danger! The fans are seeing things they don’t need, but they do need Castle! The Peacock is all fired up, but will that fire help him burn a path back to a title?

My Thoughts:

A really good episode, but I’m a little disappointed they made this episode two hours. Though at the same time, they sprung the entire first round of a new contender tournament on us. We got a good promo from Joe and Stokely to introduce it, though. And great matches from all four first-round match-ups, though I knew Shane would basically squash Serpentico. As fun as Castle & The Boys VS Trustbusters was, because Castle is always fun to watch, I would’ve made one of the tournament matches the main event. Probably Gravity VS Henry, but a main event win might’ve been too much for Gravity this soon. I figured Daniels would beat JD, and Nese VS Burger was really good stuff. But I suppose Nese winning makes sense, Daniels needs a Heel to fight next round.

And going back to Castle & The Boys, I don’t know why ROH would build them back towards the Six Man titles again. As much as fans love that team, they’ve already faced the Embassy and lost. The Embassy VS Iron Savages was a great match, and a great first match in ROH for Jameson, but I figured the Embassy would retain. I really have no idea what team will dethrone these guys, they’re being booked almost too strong. Maybe whatever trio comes out of the Blackpool Combat Club VS Death Triangle VS Best Friends & Cassidy will be seen as contenders and they’re the ones who take down The Embassy.

Great Pure Division stuff to open the night, though Shibata was mostly a judge so Woods and Sterling could call him out in person. Shibata VS Woods for next week is going to be awesome stuff, I’ve always liked Woods as a wrestler, but I don’t see Woods being the guy to dethrone Shibata. Likewise, we’re still seeing Athena just demolish everyone. Willow was the best chance and they chose not to go with her at Death Before Dishonor. I suppose we’re on the long wait for Leyla to build herself up, and she got a good win tonight, but so did Adora. This feels like the same vibe as me thinking Mark Briscoe should’ve won the ROH World TV title, but at least ROH gives multiple women matches a night.

Great match from Kingdom VS Titus & Tracy, and great win for The Kingdom, but I honestly can’t be sure what they’re to do now that Aussie Open has the ROH tag titles. Aussie Open ain’t losing a thing until they’ve loaded up on belts, such as regaining the NJPW Strong Openweight and IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. And Kingdom isn’t gonna get the AEW World Tag titles. Even with FTR VS MJF & Adam Cole on Saturday, the winner of that is not going to lose to The Kingdom. Though I would love if The Kingdom interacted with MJF & Cole to heap on more of the “many friends of Adam Cole.”

My Score: 8.7/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 5.29.25

Stuff happens, maybe it doesn’t, Dreamer and Delirious can’t book.

Published

on

Well Trick Willie is the new TNA champ and this is the first iMPACT since his win…so let’s just hear him talk about it.

Ratings:

  • The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System: Rascalz win via Meteora – ***
  • Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali: Ali wins via…No Shit – Squash Garbage
  • ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee: Lei wins via Spinning TKO – ** 3/4
  • Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber: Mance wins via Hit the Pay Winda – Squash
  • Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa: Team Robbie wins via shenanigans – **
  • International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona: Maclin retains via KIA – ***

Results:

The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System

Octagon got jumped by The System earlier so Laredo is fighting alone. Another backstage jumping is getting a little dumb.

Laredo and Trey start. Typical Indie start with Simultaneous awful Dropkick spot and bad counters, AJ blind tag runs the smaller guys over, tags out to KC and the Rascalz instantly get the moment. KC is rocked, tags in Laredo and Laredo takes out the System before Lish gets on the apron and grabs Laredo. The referee kicks out Lish and Rehwoldt on commentary points out it’s a No DQ match so that’s dumb.

KC gets tossed at AJ, he catches him, Rascalz Dive and do their taunt as we go to commercial. We come back, Tennessee Whiskey into a KC tag in for the near fall on Laredo. Corner combo, Snapmare into Flip Forward Neck Breaker, KC is on a roll. AJ tags Laredo and starts talking crap to KC, they swerve and go Finger Poke of Doom, but it’s not a legal pin. Suddenly tornado attacks, System and Rascalz go for broke, AJ hits the Senton to break the eventual pin, Laredo counters AJ’s Chokeslam attempt. Trey clears out The System, Wentz sends himself and KC over and out, Laredo with a Corkscrew Moonsault, which looked cool but it’s the pile of morons waiting to get hit spot.

AJ hits the Down Payment on Laredo, but Trey blind tagged AJ. Meteora on AJ, Trey pins Laredo and Rascalz win.

Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali

Raj looks like shit in the gear he came down in…and he wrestles equivalently. I would rather anyone else comeback…give me Anarquia.

Ali murders Raj, Instant Dropkick, Rolling Neckbreaker, Corkscrew Standing Moonsault, it’s not close. Raj tries to counter things but Ali Bellclap, a little Duck the left, connect the right. Raj even does a terrible looking Punch Combo, he’s in bad shape, a bad looking Ushigoroshi, Raj with a sloppy looking something, 450 ends it.

Fire Raj as quickly as you brought him back. You don’t need a comedically pathetic job guy when the roster is like 4 guys getting pushed and everyone else sucks. Stop being stupid. Ali still hates women too.

This Injury Report is the dumbest segment in the history of wrestling. Stop treating fake shit as “serious business”.

ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee

ASH mocks karate stuff, Lei throws a few Rising Crane kicks as ASH bails and then things slow down a little. But a Pump Kick, Sliding Kick and Low Dropkick cause ASH to cower and claim her tooth broke. It’s a bait to pull Lei into the turnbuckles and them get in a few stomps. Ash keeps Lei in the corner, Suplexes her ankles into the buckles and then Ash throws a few Booty Shots/Hit Attacks then starts a grounded stretch, Lei Headscissors her down, still sells the hips and ankles, but dodges and fires, combination strikes into the 10 Count Down Strikes. T-bone Suplex, into the pinfall, for only two.

Cheapshot into Running Meteora from ASH for two. Ash goes for the Miz Yes Kicks and Lei No Sells and asks for more. Gorgeous Capture Suplex into Thunder Struck and TKO with flair. My baby has a better finish now! Yay!

Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber

Hannifan cursing and being pissed at Trick for not even showing but is more entertaining than a squash match. Not that Mance’s offense is bad, but 2 out of 3 job matches is stupid.

Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa

Marella tries to tie up with Robbie, but he bails and tags out to Victoria so Arianna comes in and aside from Alicia Fox’s silliness, the tie up was decent with Arianna and Victoria. Tessa interferes and the Referee throws her out. Victoria comes back in and aside from a slight miscommunication with how Arianna does her punches, Alicia Fox is making her look…pretty good. Transition moves, okay brawling and Arianna looks amazing in her outfit.

Rob and Santino distract the referee and Victoria hits a Figure Four into her Northern Lights Suplex, only for 2. Arianna finally Back Body Drop to find the tag, Santino and Rob, Santino does his split dodge into the Standing Headbutt, Arianna Cross Body onto Victoria. Rob pulls out the ref, then shoves the ref into Santino, Santino into the steps and Arianna attack but Alicia and Lish, the fix is in, Arianna eats the pin.

International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona

A few quick brawl moves, Shoulder Tackles, Strikes, Back Breakers, Cardona does get dumped out and eats a SCUD. Maclin bounces Cardona’s face off the apron and hits an Elbow off the apron to keep Cardona reeling, but a dodged tackle sends Maclin into the steps. Cardona tries to Piledriver Maclin on the ramp, but Back Drop counter, into commercial.

Formulaic commercial etiquette of Cardona still in control, throws Maclin into the ropes, Diving Shoulder Tackle lays both dudes out and they get up by 8. Fighting Spirit spot, Cardona hits ropes and gets hit by Maclin twice, Thesz Press, Ground and Pound, Back Elbow and Olympic Slam has Maclin rolling. Splash into Lariat for two. Maclin has been all gas no brakes. Cardona tries to take a few shortcuts that turns into a Straight Jacket Takedown. Cardona to the top, Maclin cuts him off, Superplex spot. 1-2-kick out!

Maclin goes topside for a Jar Headbutt, Cardona hits the ropes so Maclin crashes into the corner, 2 Reboots connect, the third gets caught, counter into Busaiku Knee, Jar Headbutt. In and out, Cardona uses the middle rope for the Low Blow, Killswitch from Cardona but Maclin kicks out. Cardona dodges and shoves Maclin towards the ref, he puts the brakes on, Radio Silence! 1-2-Kick out! Maclin catches a top rope move, Power Bomb, Corner Splash, Tree of Woe, Caught in the Crosshairs, KIA and Maclin retains!

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Boring paint by numbers show, no Trick, System has one move, Robert Stone is a scumbag, too long to introduce new girls, lots of throw away segments and Rosemary sets up YET ANOTHER Monster’s Ball match. These aren’t interesting when there’s one every 3 months. So we can have terrible Monster’s Ball matches quarterly, Barbed Wire Massacre and Clockwork Orange House of Fun…BUT NO LOCKDOWN!?

Go home TNA, you’re drunk.

The Funky Weapon and The Jet may be out of the running, but they will still fight for themselves. Who earns their final points in this final round?

The bell rings and the fans rally up. Taguchi and Knight circle with a bit of a strut, and then they tie up. Knight puts Taguchi on the ropes, the ref calls the break, and Knight lets off to swivel his hips. Taguchi pumps up, but Knight says he can’t see anything. Knight flexes and says he tsuyoi. They tie up with knuckle locks, then go shoulder to shoulder in a test of strength. Knight hooks a leg to power Taguchi back, and Taguchi bridges! The fans cheer as Taguchi fights up back up! Taguchi bends Knight into a bridge, has the shoulders down, TWO as Knight powers back up! The fans rally, Knight and Taguchi start vibing with the arm wave, then a full body wave!

Taguchi wiggles around, sends it back to Knight, and Knight spins Taguchi around and around, to then headlock. Taguchi powers up and out, drops down, then hurdles over. Knight stops to waistlock but Taguchi fires elbows. Taguchi runs to fake Knight out, but Knight goes up and over! Knight avoids the Hip Attack! The fans cheer while Taguchi stares Knight down from underneath. Taguchi says bring it, so Knight punches those cheeks! Taguchi’s iron buns withstand it, and Knight says, “Itai itai.” Knight winds up again, and he punches cheeks! Taguchi still stands tall, but the fans rally for Knight.

Knight does some push-ups, he and Taguchi do squats, and Knight winds up again. The fans rally and Knight lines up a shot, to then headlock! Taguchi powers up and out, bypasses and bypasses, but Knight redirects himself! And again, and again, and again! Knight is making Taguchi spin around, and then Taguchi gets dizzy and falls! The fans cheer while Taguchi slumps out of the ring. Knight runs and FLIES! Here are the FINAL B Block standings!

YOH: 6-3, 12 points [FINALIST]
El Desperado: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
MAO: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
Taiji Ishimori: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Robbie Eagles: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
SHO: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Nick Wayne: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Kevin Knight: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Titan: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Ryusuke Taguchi: 3-6, 6 points [ELIMINATED]

My Thoughts:

A great night to wrap round nine and therefore the round robin portion. No repeat BOSJ finalists, which is actually great because now we’ve got a fresh match-up. Taguchi VS Knight was still a great match for not affecting outcomes, and Knight gets to return to AEW with a win. The flipside is Titan gets a win over Nick Wayne, I really do think it books itself, Nick VS Titan for the ROH World TV Championship on Grand Slam: Mexico. Christian Cage can even be condescending to Nick over how Nick didn’t make it to the finals, adding to that feud. Nick can beat Titan in the rematch, then get in Christian’s face to make a match for All In: Texas, or at least Supercard of Honor where ROH titles should be showing up anyway.

Great stuff with Mao and his team against Sho and the House of Torture. I was pleasantly surprised that Mao won, and I wonder if the House of Torture goes to a DDT Pro show to battle it out with Strange Love Connection. Mao winning also added great drama to the remaining matches, Despy VS Eagles was awesome stuff, probably the actual best match of the night. Yoh VS Taiji wasn’t quite as hot going by the crowd, but Yoh getting the win to shut the door on Despy was good. Yoh VS Fujita will be great, a bit hard to call, but that makes it fun.

My Score: 9/10
