It’s the Fastlane Kickoff Show!

Join Kayla Braxton, Jackie Redmond, Wade Barrett, Booker T and Peter Rosenberg in discussing, analyzing and predicting all the action here in Indy!

Santos Escobar talks with Rey Mysterio backstage.

They know their strengths and weaknesses, as well as Lashley’s and the Profits’. But Santos has to ask, is “he” going to come through? And if it comes down to it, if it’s still just 3v2, Escobar will do it but… Did “he” come through? Rey says he put the call in, and the text. Rey knows “he” read the text, but there’s been no response. But…! Trust Rey. Rey trusts “he” will come through. They shake hands, and we have until the Six Man Tag happens, so will the LWO’s third man be here?

Backstage interview with Paul Heyman.

Byron Saxton thanks The Wise Man for this time, and asks about how well he feels Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa are going to do against the “mega tandem” of LA Knight & John Cena. What? Where is that nickname coming from? How stupid, “mega tandem.” Cena & Knight barely like each other. They’re a team out of necessity because they’re targeted by the Bloodline. Now the Bloodline, Jimmy & Solo, are brothers. They come from the same world, have the same blood in their veins, hence Bloodline. Cena & Knight aren’t a bloodline, they’re trying to survive. Which means tonight, ladies and gentlemen, trust the Wise Man when he says this will be an easy victory for Jimmy & Solo.

Byron then asks, “What if they lose?” Heyman frowns. How could Byron ask that stupid question? Bloodline? Losing? To Cena & Knight? Heyman can’t believe the man wearing pale canary yellow asked that! Why would they lose?! No, really? What sense would it make? Why? WHY!? It makes no sense to ask! Get Kayla Braxton to interview him next time, at least she has intelligence. Heyman rants on and on as he storms into the Bloodline locker room, will he end up even angrier if all that actually happens?

Backstage interview with Damage CTRL.

Cathy Kelley is with Iyo Sky, Bayley & Dakota Kai to get some strategy talk from Iyo going into the Triple Threat. Bayley asks if Cathy is an idiot or if this is the first day on the job. Iyo is the Evil Genius of the entire WWE! She isn’t sharing any strategy! Iyo has Bayley calm down and says “daijoubu,” it’s fine. Iyo has her strategy. And she doesn’t need DMG CTRL tonight. Bayley & Dakota are a bit stunned. Iyo heads out on her own, and Bayley huffs and puffs after. Dakota is dreading this, will the Role Model be able to accept staying in the back?

Jade Cargill has arrived backstage!

And she shakes hands with Triple H! The Game welcomes the Storm, will Jade have her eye on tonight’s Women’s Championship match?

Welcome to Indianapolis.

“You didn’t think you’d just roll through beautiful Indianapolis and not get a little color commentary from Pat McAfee himself, did ya? Look, I’m no mathemetist, never claimed to be an astrophysicist, but I know fast when I see it. Going Mach 3 with your hair on fire is my comfort zone, okay? And hot damn it if tonight ain’t a strap in, keep all hands and feet inside, tick the governor off kinda night! And if there’s one thing I know about this town, it’s that fortune favors the fast. Look at ’em. Superhuman specimens. Athletic A-Listers. Straight up debonair dogs! Born to do one thing: win.

“Gotta keep your head on a swivel, though, fam! Sometimes, even the Fastlane finds a little oncoming traffic. If you’re not fired up right now, I’d say we need a pulse check on an ol’ wet blanket. We are ramping towards a big finish. WWE Fastlane, coming at you like a Mack truck! Let’s goooooo~!”

LA Knight arrives in the Slim Jim Z350!

That was the Mega Star’s real prize for winning the SummerSlam Slim Jim Battle Royal, and it’s definitely a hot rod. But will Knight be feeling even hotter after teaming and winning with John Cena?

Pat McAfee is here!

He narrated the opening video, so of course he’s going to be here! And he’s sporting the Indianapolis Colts legacy belt! McAfee gets the mic to say, “There was no chance in hell I was gonna miss this show on this night in this glorious city.” Indianapolis cheers, and Pat says we all know it when we see it. Members of the WWE Universe know that when the WWE comes to town, everyone wants to appreciate the WWE being there. But so many times, the crowd is dead. No juice, no life. But that is NOT Indianapolis! The fans cheer that! Pat thinks Indianapolis has deserved a WrestleMania. Fans definitely cheer that!

Pat is pretty sure the people in the back heard that, but let’s make ’em feel it. If you think Indianapolis deserves a WrestleMania, give ’em a “Hell yeah.” “HELL YEAH!!” Shout out to Stone Cold. Now before Pat joins the greatest of all time, Michael Cole, and that “hate mass,” Corey Graves, allow Pat to introduce a man who is a SIXTEEN TIME World Champion. A man who will be tag teaming with “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!” Ladies and gentlemen, it’s JOHN CENA. Cena makes his entrance, because when it comes to the tag team grudge match, that time is now!

Jimmy keeps Cena from Knight but they’re fingertips away! Jimmy throws Cena down by his hair! Cover, TWO! Cena is still in this but Jimmy stalks him.

Tag to Solo and Solo stalks Cena now. Solo stares Knight down, then he aims at Cena. Solo hears the fans cheering for Cena, but he shouts and runs in, HIP ATTACK! That one hits! Solo roars but fans boo, and even Heyman is hurting seeing that impact. Cena flounders but still grabs at Solo’s leg. Solo looms over Cena, and Cena drags himself up. Solo HEADBUTTS Cena! Cena staggers, but he throws a body shot! And a haymaker! And another haymaker! Cena runs, but Solo WHEEL KICKS him down! Fans boo but Jimmy and Heyman love what they see. Solo tags Jimmy in and Jimmy taunts the fans chanting for Cena.

Jimmy taunts Knight, then he brings Cena up. But Cena fireman’s carries! ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT!! Both men are down and fans fire up! Cena crawls, as does Jimmy, hot tag to Solo and he BLASTS Knight! Fans boo but Solo drags Cena back. The ref keeps Knight from getting involved but that lets Solo stomp away on Cena. Heyman is giving commentary to his phone, maybe to Roman Reigns, and then Solo drags Cena into the corner. Solo climbs up, BANZAI DROP! Cena sputters, but Solo drags him back into place. Fans boo but The Bloodline soaks it up as Solo climbs again. BANZAI DROP!! Cover, TWO!!

Cena is still in this but Solo looms over him. Fans rally as hard as they can and Cena starts to revive! Cena reaches out but Solo keeps him back! Then Solo HEADBUTTS Cena down! Jimmy applauds and starts a “Let’s Go, Solo!” chant. The fans don’t join in but Solo goes up the corner again. But Cena KNEES the Banzai Drop! Solo sputters now while both he and Cena are down! Fans rally, Cena and Solo crawl, hot tags to Jimmy and Knight! Indy explodes as Knight rallies on Jimmy! RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Whip to the ropes, Jimmy reverses but Knight turns that to a NECKBREAKER! Knight DECKS Solo, too!

Knight stomps a “YEAH!” hole into Jimmy! Fans fire up, Solo runs in but Knight kicks and DDTS him first! But Jimmy SUPERKICKS Knight! Cover, TWO!! Knight is still in this and Jimmy is furious! Fans rally behind Knight but Jimmy goes up a corner. Jimmy tells everyone to shut up, here comes the USO SPLASH! NO, Knight moves, scoops and POWERSLAMS! They spell it out, “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!” ELBOW DROP! Solo returns but Knight kicks and whips. Solo reveres, to SAMOAN DROP! But Cena is up top, to CROSSBODY! Fans fire up as Jimmy USO SPLASHES Cena! All four men are down!

The fans fire up again and Pat himself says “This is Awesome!” The fans join in on that, and the teams regroup. They stand, and Jimmy ROCKS Knight! Knight ROCKS Jimmy! Solo ROCKS Knight, but Knight ROCKS Solo! Cena is still down so Knight throws hands on The Bloodline all alone! JAB! JAB! JAB! “YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!” Left and right and then an ELBOW for solo! Knight whips, Solo reverses and Jimmy TOSSES Knight! But Cena rises!! Fireman’s carry for Solo but Jimmy SUPERKICKS Cena down! Deja vu from SmackDown! The Bloodline then go to the apron, and Jimmy climbs up again. But Knight returns!

Knight DUMPS Solo out, rushes up and has Jimmy! SUPERPLEX, YEAH!! Cena is up and he sees Jimmy! Fans fire up as he raises his hand! “YOU CAN’T SEE ME!” Cena has to DECK Solo first, but he still hits the FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE! And then Knight hits B F T!! Cover, Knight & Cena win!!

Winners: John Cena & LA Knight, by pinfall

The Bloodline may be united by blood, but they just didn’t have the fortitude to put away the mega tandem! Cena wants to raise Knight’s hand in victory, but Knight says NAH NAH. Knight raises Cena’s hand in victory! These two are rolling on, will Cena return to the top of WWE? Will Knight reach that summit himself in the near future? Or will The Tribal Chief look to squash that with his return this coming Friday?

The Judgment Day regroups.

Finn isn’t so sure about Priest cashing in now. Priest’s leg is hurt, everyone else can’t get out there. Just relax and try again. No, no, no, no! Priest accepts what happened out there in the tag match, but he is NOT going home emptyhanded! It has to be tonight. Rhea tries to reason with Priest. He’s the one who said he doesn’t wanna rush this, wants to be ready for it. They’ll do it right, and that’s not tonight. Rhea asks for the briefcase. Priest hands it over, and then sits down. Will the Punisher have no choice but to simply sit back and watch the World Heavyweight Championship match like the rest of us?

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Last Man Standing Match: Seth Rollins VS Shinsuke Nakamura!

The Visionary has never, ever, anywhere in his career, participated in a match with this stipulation. But perhaps the King of Strong Style knew that. Nakamura goaded and trolled Rollins into giving him this rematch from Payback, but who will really get payback in the last lap of Fastlane?

Rollins then goes looking for more things, and he tosses chair after chair after chair in! And then a trash can! And a TABLE! Indy is happy to see that! Rollins then brings out a second TABLE! Indy is even more fired up than before! Rollins hurries in after Nakamura, he storms up and drags Nakamura up but Nakamura KICKS Rollins down! Nakamura puts Rollins on the apron, then runs to KNEE LIFT!

Rollins sputters and Nakamura goes up, GUILLOTINE KNEE DROP! The standing count starts on Rollins and Nakamura counts along. Rollins is up at 4 so Nakamura KICKS Rollins! Nakamura stalks Rollins around the way, pushes him into the ring, and he soaks up the heat. Nakamura goes looking for goodies of his own, and has NUNCHAKU!?? Nakamura is a martial arts master, and he CLUBS Rollins with the chucks! And then the other leg! Rollins hobbles around, Nakamura winds up and CLUBS Rollins on the back! Nakamura BOOTS Rollins to a corner, runs in, but into a BOOT!

Nakamura comes back, blocks boots this time and puts Rollins in the ropes! KICK and SLIDING GERMAN! Rollins writhes and the standing count starts. Rollins rises at 3 but Nakamura hits a FLYING KNEE! Both men are down so the count is on both of them!

Rollins stands at 4 and grabs a kendo stick! Fans fire up and Nakamura is up at 6, so Rollins SMACKS him! And again! And again! And again! AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!! Fans fire up, Rollins has the trash can, and he SMACKS Nakamura in the head! Nakamura falls out of the ring but Rollins builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit and down goes Nakamura! But Rollins isn’t done, he puts Nakamura back in. Rollins has the kendo stick yet again, and he aims as fans rally up. SMACK to a leg! Rollins runs to BOOT Nakamura down! Rollins goes up fast, to FROG SPLASH!! Direct hit and the count begins!

Nakamura writhes and sputters but Rollins paces around him. The count is 7, Nakamura stands at 8, and Rollins run sin! Nakamura ducks the kendo stick and tries to use it to choke Rollins! Rollins fights so Nakamura hits a KENDO BACKSTABBER! SLIDING KNEE!! Rollins is down so the count begins, but Nakamura prepares a table just in case. The table sits in the corner, Nakamura stalks Rollins. Nakamura brings Rollins around, SLEEPER, but Rollins fights around. Nakamura CLUBS Rollins and REVERSE EXPLODERS! Rollins flounders towards the table, and Nakamura runs in! KINSHASA into the table!!

Fans fire up as Rollins runs to CURB STOMP!! Nakamura is down and the count begins! We pass 5, Nakamura flounders and drags himself up with ropes. Nakamura stands at 8 and Rollins frowns. Rollins storms in to clothesline Nakamura up and out! Nakamura hits the floor and the count begins again. Rollins then goes out, and he decides to use the announce desk! Fans cheer as Rollins clears it off, and Nakamura stands at 8! Nakamura leans against barriers to stay up, but Rollins decides to bring out a LADDER! Fans fire up for that even more than the tables! Rollins carries the ladder, runs in, and he RAMS Nakamura down!

Fans fire up as the count starts again. Nakamura grits his teeth and sits up at 4, hobbles, but Rollins sets the ladder up near the desk! Nakamura stands at 8 again, but Rollins drags him over to ROLLING ELBOW! Nakamura wobbles, and Rollins makes sure he is on the desk. Rollins goes up the ladder, fans fire up again, and Rollins aims. But Nakamura moves! Rollins has to abandon his plan and fans boo. Rollins hurries down to run up and CLOBBER Nakamura! Nakamura almost falls into the front row! Rollins SMACKS Nakamura off the apron, RAMS him into barriers, then brings him around the way.

Rollins TOSSES Nakamura over the barriers! The count begins while Nakamura is down in the front row, but Rollins grabs himself a chair! Rollins chases Nakamura deeper into the crowd, and SMACKS Nakamura on the back! They keep going, Rollins SMACKS Nakamura off the safety railing by the stage! Fans are loving this as Rollins scoops Nakamura. Nakamura slips free to RAM Rollins into the bleachers! Then Nakamura SMACKS Rollins off a road case. Nakamura climbs up into the upper deck?! Nakamura drags Rollins up to join him, throws forearms, and they continue along the edge. Rollins fires hands in return!

Fans fire up as they brawl on the very edge, and then Rollins BITES Nakamura!! Rollins brings Nakamura around but Nakamura LOW BLOWS Rollins! Nakamura BOOTS Rollins and Rollins lands on the stage below! Rollins writhes, he’s done at 5, and at 7! Nakamura grins but Rollins drags himself up at 9!! Nakamura KICKS Rollins in the back! And he SMACKS Rollins with a chair! Another SMACK to the back and Rollins goes to center stage. Rollins stands but Nakamura SMACKS him again and again! Fans still want tables, and Nakamura has Rollins on the ramp. Nakamura KICKS Rollins, then SMACKS him again!

They return to ringside, Nakamura swings but Rollins ducks! Chair hits post and Nakamura is disarmed! Rollins tucks Nakamura in, but Nakamura back drops! Rollins lands on the bare concrete!! He suffers his own intentions from earlier! The standing count climbs, Rollins is down at 5, then at 7. Rollins drags himself up at 9 once again, so Nakamura CLUBS his back! Nakamura puts Rollins in the ring, storms his way in, and he aims from a corner. “YAO~!” KIN- SUPERKICK!! Rollins hits the PEDIGREE!! Both men are down and the standing count begins! They’re both still down at 5, and 7!

Rollins slides out to get to his feet, Nakamura rises quickly at 9!! Nakamura flounders his way out the side, and Rollins sees there’s still another table. Fans fire up as Rollins struggles to puts that in the ring. The back is hurting so Rollins settles for standing it up out here. Rollins then fetches Nakamura, but Nakamura RAMS Rollins into the apron! Nakamura fires off fast hands and a KNEE! Rollins wobbles, fans sing for him, but Nakamura puts Rollins on the table. Nakamura goes up the corner! He mocks the singing, before he SUPER KNEE DROPS through the table!!! Fans lose their minds as table and possibly Rollins’ body both break!

Nakamura checks his legs, he seems okay, and “This is Awesome!” as the count climbs. Nakamura stands at 6, Rollins flounders at 8! Rollins uses the busted table to stand at 9.5!! Nakamura is furious and he SMACKS Rollins with another chair! And again, and again! Nakamura leaves Rollins behind for the count, even sitting the chair up in the ring. Rollins scrambles up at 7, so Nakamura goes out after him. Nakamura still has a Cheshire Cat grin, but Rollins POSTS Nakamura! Rollins hobbles around, and he looks at the ladder again. Michael Cole and Corey Graves tell him no but the fans sing “WHOA~ OHH~ OHHH~!”

Rollins fumes, storms up to Nakamura, and then brings him over. Rollins puts Nakamura on the desk again, goes up the ladder, but then Nakamura goes up the other side! Rollins sees that and intercepts by dragging Nakamura up! Nakamura fights the suplex, and MISTS Rollins!! Rollins falls through the desk!!! The King borrowing an idea from The Empress, and he stands high above as the count climbs. Rollins is down at 5, at 7, fights up, and somehow stands at 9.9!! Nakamura is frustrated as he climbs back down. Nakamura KICKS Rollins, puts him in the ring, and fans chant “This is Awesome!”

Nakamura circles around Rollins, scoops him, and hits a BACKBREAKER on the chair!!! Rollins somehow stands, but Nakamura KINSHASAS him through the table!!! Rollins is down in the wreckage as the count climbs! Nakamura smiles as the count reaches 7, and 8, and then 9, but Rollins slides out of the ring to be on his feet at 9.99!! Nakamura is mad again and he goes back out to kick Rollins around! They go back to commentary so Nakamura can TOSS Rollins into the timekeeper’s area! Nakamura keeps after Rollins with knees as they go into the crowd again. Nakamura kicks Rollins towards some staging area at the back corner of the arena.

Nakamura SMACKS Rollins off wood, then hoists him onto the platform. Nakamura climbs up to join Rollins and the crowd in this area get to be closer to the action. Rollins eggs Nakamura on so Nakamura rains down fists! Nakamura roars, fans boo, but Nakamura stands Rollins up. Fireman’s carry, but Rollins fights free! Rollins kicks low, underhooks, PEDIGREE!! Nakamura flounders up again, and Rollins CURB STOMPS Nakamura down!!! Both men are down, the count begins! Rollins stands at 8, Nakamura stands at 9! So Rollins reels Nakamura in to FALCON ARROW through tables!!! Fans lose their minds again!

The count climbs, Rollins flounders, we’re past 7! 8! 9! Nakamura flops over, Rollins stands, ROLLINS WINS!!

Winner: Seth Rollins (still WWE World Heavyweight Champion)

Everything Nakamura did was brutal and calculated, yet it was NOT enough! The Visionary, the Revolutionary, Seth FREAKIN’ Rollins still comes out on top!! But how much longer can Rollins keep this up now that everyone knows about the literal target on his back?

My Thoughts:

Great stuff tonight here as WWE moves Fastlane up in their calendar. Only five matches feels so much better to get through than five HOURS of matches, WWE showing AEW how it’s done on that level. Moving on, good promos in the kickoff show to help add to the matches. The Six Man Tag starting as a Handicap match at first was fair, that is classic wrestling trope to keep us guessing until the “right moment.” Carlito being the guy was a great surprise and great use of continuity, and so of course LWO wins again. This might just be another Premium appearance by Carlito, though he is in great shape.

And Heyman being upset at Byron for suggesting LA Knight & John Cena could beat The Bloodline, now he’s gonna be even more upset because it happened! Really good tag match, Cena taking a lot of the damage, but great win finish between Cena and Knight. Jimmy took the loss in the fight he picked, now he’s definitely gonna get chewed out by Roman on Friday. Awesome Triple Threat for the women’s title, and it was incredibly clever for Asuka to start this with mist to take advantage of the No Disqualification stipulation. Now, of course Bayley gets involved, but surprisingly, she doesn’t cost Iyo. In a way, Iyo owes Bayley, though that opens the door to Bayley rubbing that in, upsetting Iyo, and then Iyo throws how Bayley keeps speaking without thinking.

Awesome tag match to open, great use of Judgment Day dysfunction to cost them the tag titles, though I’m surprised Priest wasn’t more upset at McDonagh. I think Cody and Jey winning was more the vehicle to the Judgment Day dysfunction, but at the same time, it allows Cody & Jey to go to SmackDown again, where they can “finish the story” with The Bloodline. Plus, there’s still a story on Raw where Cody & Jey can be at odds with Kevin & Sami over these titles. And I like that we got that backstage promo of Judgment Day advising Priest to not cash-in tonight. Honestly, I thought we were lingering at the end of the main event for him to defy their orders.

And of course, Rollins VS Nakamura was an awesome Last Man Standing match. Great use of the entire arena, even with the clearly planted crash pad for Rollins for when he falls off the bleachers. Also great use of mist from Nakamura, paralleling Asuka but also Great Muta. Rollins winning by a very close margin is a great move because it makes sure Nakamura is still strong in the world title scene. Priest should definitely step on to Rollins on Monday, though, along with a few others, and then we can get a build towards Crown Jewel on November 4th to figure out who is actually facing Rollins.

My Score: 8.9/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Fuego Del Sol VS Wheeler Yuta!

Lucha night opens with a hot start as the Fire of the Sun returns to ROH, but so does The Decoder! Will Fuego Del Sol get one up on a former ROH Pure Champion turned current AEW World Trios Champion? Or will Yuta do the Death Riders proud in Houston?

Houston cheers on the Texas star, and Fuego offers the Code of Honor. Yuta reaches out, but then SLAPS Fuego! The fans boo and the bell rings, Yuta slips around to CLUB Fuego down! Yuta mocks the fans cheering on Fuego, then scoops him for a SLAM and SENTON! The fans boo but Yuta brings Fuego up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO, but Yuta holds onto the leg! Yuta taunts Fuego, but Fuego kicks at him! Yuta lets go and the fans rally up. Yuta runs up, Fuego ELBOWS him away, then goes up, up and FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up as Fuego then DROPKICKS Yuta down!

Yuta staggers up, Fuego SLAPS him! But Yuta LARIATS in return! The fans boo but Yuta rains down fists! And then stops, to rain down more fists! The fans boo but Yuta soaks that up while he “kicks dirt” on Fuego. Yuta stands Fuego up, CHOPS him, then has him in a corner. Yuta CHOPS Fuego again, the fans boo, but Yuta whips corner to corner hard! Fuego staggers forward, Yuta says they ain’t done yet. Yuta whips Fuego to the corner again, then FLAPJACKS on the rebound! Yuta adds a basement DROPKICK! The fans boo but Yuta soaks up heat. Yuta hits a spinning toehold, then has a DEATHLOCK!

Fuego endures and Yuta mockingly asks if he’ll give up. Fuego refuses to give in, and he SLAPS Yuta! So Yuta bridges and puts on more pressure! Yuta shows off by not even using his hands, but Fuego fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! Yuta lets go at 4, and he reminds the ref, “I have ’til five!” The fans boo Yuta parodying Bryan Danielson, then Yuta kicks Fuego around. Yuta eggs Fuego on, so Fuego ROCKS him! And ROCKS him! And again, and again, and again! But Yuta gets under the big haymaker! Yuta back suplexes, but Fuego lands out! Fuego dodges Yuta to then springboard QUEBRADA! Down goes Yuta!

The fans fire up as Fuego kips up and SUPERKICKS! Yuta sputters, Fuego runs and STEP-UP DOUBLE STOMPS! The fans fire up again as Fuego climbs a corner! Yuta stands, Fuego MISSILE- NO, Yuta gets under and comes back, BUSAIKU KNEE! Cover, Yuta wins!

Another thing he took from The American Dragon is that big knee, and Yuta takes the victory. Yuta sits Fuego up, and thinks about Hammer ‘n’ Anvil elbows, but he decides not to. Because he gets an even more sadistic idea! Yuta looks under the ring, and he brings out a steel chain! Yuta threatens the ref, then he goes to Fuego! The fans boo but Yuta hooks Fuego’s legs up, then uses the chain to go up, up and away, ROMERO SPECIAL!! Yuta taunts Fuego but Fuego is coughing up blood! Rachael Ellering VS Abadon!

The Queen of Strong Smile is feeling good being in Houston, ready to bring that Comet energy. However, she’s up against the Living Dead Girl, who brings a very different vibe. Will Rachael learn why everyone fears Abadon? Or will Rachael’s smile see her through?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, but uh, Abadon doesn’t let go. Rachael tries to get free, and now it is a tug-o-war. Rachael runs up, Abadon ELBOWS and CUTTERS! Then BLACK DAHLIA!! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall

Abadon continues to be terrifying, as well as victorious. Will the ROH Women’s Division, and especially the champions, have to watch their backs?

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

12 Man Tag: The Premier Athletes & The Frat House VS Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs!

Instead of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Tony Nese has the mic to tell Bobby Cruise to shut up, “no one wants to listen to your stupid voice.” Nese then tells the “fat boys and fat girls” of Houston, Nese & Daivari couldn’t think of a better partner for this match than an athlete that makes every single one of them put to shame! Yes, it’s SMART MARK himself! Wait, seriously? Sterling takes the mic to say that’s right, he is still here to make sure that the losers of Texas can take part in their winning cheer. So please, get this right. When he says, “Athletes,” you say, “Rule!” NOTHING ELSE! Hands in, boys. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Gottee!

But with that, Dante & Darius Martin enter, accompanied by Leila Grey. Then Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd enter, and last but not least, Texas’ own, Marshall & Ross Von Erich! The massive teams sort out, and Darius starts against Nese. The fans rally up and Darius circles with Nese. Nese says wait, wait! He knows what the fans are here to see. Nese flexes, but the fans boo. Nese shouts, “ATHLETES!” The fans respond, “SUCK!” Nese and Darius circle, but then Nese kicks low! Dante keeps the armlock, he tags in Ross, and Ross wrenches to a wristlock. Ross YANKS the arm, then tags Marshall.

Marshall fires the fans up, then hauls Jameson up to headlock. Tag to Truth and he wrenches Jameson. The fans rally but Jameson fires hands! Jameson whips, Daivari gets a cheap shot in, but Truth DECKS Daivari! Only for Vance to CLOBBER Truth! The ref has to keep Truth’s team back, so he missed all that! Jameson stomps Truth, tags Vance, and Vance covers, TWO!

Vance ROCKS Truth, has him in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Daivari, he CHOPS Truth, then he tags Nese. The Premier Athletes mug Truth with haymaker after haymaker, but the ref is still too busy keeping Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs back! Nese drags Truth up, and he tags in Sterling!? The fans boo but Sterling gets to throw hands on Truth! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling drags Truth back, anchors a leg, and tags in Vance. Vance stomps Truth, tags Jameson, and Jameson tags Griff. The fans fire up again as Truth and Vance crawl. Truth pushes past Vance, but Leila has to get out of the way as The Premier Athletes & Frat House all run up! They all YANK Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs off the apron, leaving Truth stranded! But at least Truth’s team fights back!

The fans fire up, but Truth turns around into a BOOT! Truth ends up on the apron, Vance runs up, and Vance SPEARS Truth onto the entire cluster! The fans fire up as Vance drags Truth into the ring. Cover, TWO! The fans rally up as Truth stays in this. The teams regroup, Vance whips Truth to the corner, but Truth BOOTS back! Everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes this win as the super team everybody loves stands tall! But with The Von Erichs holding gold with Dustin Rhodes, will The Sons of Texas soon be everyone’s top priority?

MXM Collection speaks.

ROH Media found Mansoor & Mason Madden after their loss at ROH Global Wars: Australia, but they still had their remodeled ROH World Tag title belt. As such, they act triumphant and victorious because they “successfully defended” their ROH World Tag Team Championship. Because as you can see, they still have the belt! Shoutout to Dustin Rhodes, he is a great fellow tag team champion, he really tested MXM. But then they ran away with this here title, and there is nothing anyone can say about it! Fingertip touch and MXM heads out, but they do know possession is NOT nine-tenths of the law in ROH, right?

Billie Starkz VS Hyan!

As if tensions weren’t already high between these two, Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths is being belittled because she lost to Harley Cameron on the Jericho Cruise while The Fallen Goddess is still ROH Women’s World Champion after beating Alex Windsor in Australia. The Athena World Tour returns home to Texas, but will Billie make “Boss” proud? Or will even disappointment be bigger in Texas?

The fans boo, but Billie asks, “What do you want from me!?” Billie runs in, but Hyan dodges and Billie POSTS herself! The fans fire up, Hyan storms over, and Hyan brings Billie up to suplex high and hard! The fans fire up and Hyan feels that energy! Hyan runs to SPLASH in the corner! Billie then puts Hyan up top, Electric Chair Lifts, and she tucks Hyan in for a DRIVER!! Cover, Billie wins!

Well, if Kenny Omega uses a One Winged Angel, was that a Two Winged Angel? The bottom line is Billie is back in the win column, but will she ever fight her way out from under Athena’s tyranny?

When it comes to her by-any-means-necessary way of winning, The Chef knows we all want to know “Why? Why? I have been on a roll lately. The hottest of my career. Why? Why? I’m starting to get real tired of the same questions. Why? I’m just getting started.” When and where will Red Velvet serve up another L fresh from the kitchen?

Lucha night comes to an end with a huge crossover between ROH and CMLL! And it will be lucha rules! That means if the legal man falls out of the ring, someone can jump in and take their place! Hechi is in, but so is Sammy! The fans fire up and Hechi roars! Sammy runs up, but into a single leg takedown! Hechi stands Sammy up to whip, but Sammy reverses. Hechi ducks the hurdle, but Sammy JUMP KNEES him down! The fans fire up and Sammy whips corner to corner. Hechi reverses, runs up, and STEP-UP KNEES! The fans fire up and Hechi rolls back, summons the power of lucha, but Sammy SUPERKICKS him!

Sammy runs to JUMP KNEE again! Hechi flounders, Sammy torture racks him! But Mason gets on the apron! The ref tells him to hop down, but Mansoor slithers in, and he BELT SHOTS Sammy!! The fans boo, Sammy flops out of the ring, but Fuego steps up! Fuego runs, slips through a tilt-o-whirl, but Hechi victory rolls, only to stand up and INVERTED MONKEY FLIP Fuego into a LEG SCISSOR NELSON! But that’s not all, Hechi makes it a ROLLING CRADLE! They go around and around and around, into the cover! Team Hechi wins!!

Winners: Hechicero, Barbaro Cavernario & Soberano Jr, by pinfall

Give an assist to MXM as they celebrate their part to play in this victory. They even get Hechicero to touch fingertips with him! But then they aim at Sammy! Only for Fuego y Panther to get back in! MXM flips the belt around to swing on them! Fuego y Panther dodge, and they DOUBLE DROPKICK MXM out! The fans cheer, but Sammy, Fuego & Panther grab Mansoor! Mansoor says save yourself! He lets the belt go, Sammy has Mansoor in the torture rack! GO TO HOSPITAL!! Mason shouts, “NOOO~!” but he keeps the title belt away from Sammy. Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
