Moxley is a 3-0 leader of Gold League, and Rush is furious about it! This also puts Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal on the bubble! Did Moxley just do a number on them like he did Rush?
AEW hears from Jay White and Jay Lethal.
The Switchblade says, “Jay Lethal was one of the greatest in the world when I was cutting my teeth in ROH. For about a year and a half, that was the man that I looked up to. That was the man showing how it’s done. And now look how things, huh, Jay?” But Black Machismo isn’t sure if anyone realizes what the scoreboard says, but it says Jay Lethal NEEDS this victory. White is 1-1, and 1-1 with Lethal. Lethal says when he’s backed into a corner, that is when he’s at his best. Tonight, he will be the victor. But White says two birds, one stone. He’ll take those three points and make their series 2-1 in favor of the Mother Lovin’ Switchblade.
Renee Paquette is on stage.
Canada’s own introduces Roderick Strong & The Kingdom. Fans shout “ADAAAM~!” as Roddy wheels out, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett by his side. Renee says Roddy asked for this time, so what is going on? “RENEEEE~! It’s obvious that Max is gonna put his dagger into the heart of my best friend by proxy, SAMOAAA! Joe. It’s tough, but y’know, Joe’s a big boy. And if life has taught me anything, actions have consequences. And tonight, Joe is gonna put his hands on a hot stove, and it’s gonna burn.”
But what if MJF isn’t the guy Roddy thinks he is? “RENEEEE~! You sound crazy. Every decision has consequences, you know that. Look at me. Look at me! This is my life! I’m in this wheelchair because of decisions that I’ve made. This is my life every single day. Every single day! And I will live with the consequences of my decisions, until now.” O M G he stands. Strong says he will no longer suffer, he will no longer be held back. Taven CHUCKS the wheelchair off the stage! Strong says that chair held him back for far too long! Far. Too. Long. Roddy slams the mic down, is Roddy going to take things into his own hands?
Renee is now backstage.
She is outside MJF’s locker room, looking for a word from him before the match with Samoa Joe. But then Hangman Page walks by, and so Renee gets a word from him now. We hadn’t seen him until now after that loss at Full Gear. How is he feeling? Where’s he been? Well, Hangman got hit in the back of the head with a cinderblock then choked unconscious so he could not fly for a few weeks. But he’s glad she caught him, glad to do this, because there is something he’s needed to say to Swerve, and to the world.
“Swerve, you broke into my home. You went into my son’s room. It took Prince Nana, it took Brian Cage, but you beat me in a Texas Deathmatch on PPV. I can concede, I can recognize when I have lost. And you have beaten me. But Swerve, at Full Gear, I took something from you that you will never get back. And I think that we are bound by something bigger than either of us. And I think that you should know this is not over. And Swerve, I know what you want more than anything from this life. And I promise, because of what you did to m e, I will make sure that you never have it.”
MJF then walks out, smiles, and says hi to “Seabiscuit.” Just gotta say, bravo on that match at Full Gear. So impressive for two guys to battle it out just to see who can get the most STDs. Hangman says honestly, he doesn’t have 30 minutes to have MJF talk like he normally does, so this is his interview now. Enjoy, good luck. Hangman leaves and MJF says the reason he has 30 minutes is because he has to wake the fans up after they’ve had to endure someone like Hangman beforehand. But anyway- Hangman comes back and asks if this is what MJF is gonna do. Does MJF have something else to say to him?
Well, funny Hangman should ask. MJF’s memory isn’t all that great, because he’s been hit in the head a few times during this incredible title reign he’s been on. But uh, does Hangman remember? The last time they were eye to eye, MJF verbally bent Hangman over in front of Bret Hart. Hangman says yeah, it was when MJF was talking about a match where Hangman hit a Buckshot and threw him over the top rope. That’s the one. MJF says yeah, but what he remembers is that he won the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Who was it that he beat? Some white trash hick, but who? Does Renee remember the guy’s name?
Hangman says it was him, and it made him so mad, he had to console himself by becoming AEW World Champion instead. Oh, right, that was fantastic, lasted about six months. Tremendous work. But the thing is, it’s been well over a year for MJF. Yes, and MJF must be real proud. And he will continue to be proud of that when he’s 70 at home, alone, telling his nine cats. Oh, funny stuff. But if Hangman wants to get honest here, MJF says that out of everyone here, if there is one guy MJF thinks is The Devil, it’s Hangman. W-What? The masked guy? You think that’s Hangman running around in something from Party City?
Hangman says he has known MJF a long time, and for as long as he’s known MJF, MJF has been a manipulator. So if MJF is being honest, then Hangman wants him to admit it’s just him! MJF puts on his mask, runs around, attacks his opponents, tries to throw us off by having his goons attack him. Let’s just be honest! MJF says to be honest, he will honestly beat the hell out of Hangman. But then Joe steps in to stop this. MJF is Joe’s now, remember? And for that matter, what is wrong with you, MJF? They have more important things right now, and they do not involve Hangman. MJF says Hangman got lucky, and he heads out with Joe.
Does Hangman have a point about how deep this plot might go? Or is the Devil still someone completely unexpected?

Backstage interview with Mariah May.
Renee says it is nice to finally meet Mariah, and Mariah says it’s nice to finally meet Renee. Last week, Mariah had a meeting with Tony Khan, can she share what it was about? Well, it went very well. Tony loves Mariah, loved her work in Stardom, loves Japanese wrestling. He’s not an idiot, either, since he signed Mariah. They planned her in-ring debut, wanted to make it as good as possible, “bring some much needed glamour to AEW.” So then, when is her debut? Who is her first opponent? Renee, that is none of your business.
Because tonight is about Toni Storm! Her first title defense! Ben Macka- Mango- Manga- Mank- Ben Mankiewicz? Yes! He will be there, and Mariah will be there, watching and studying Timeless Toni Storm. Then good luck tonight. Will Storm still be the leading lady of AEW after facing the darkened Skye Blue?
MJF & Samoa Joe VS The Devil’s Masked Men!
The AEW World Champion has the Samoan Submission Machine watching his back so that they can both be 100% for their title match at Worlds End. However, will they both be able to make it there when we don’t even know who their opponents really are?
Wait, the lights turn off! And then there’s a lot of flashing lights, and one of the Devil’s minions is there! Wait, all four of them appear! Joe is surrounded! Jon Moxley speaks.
His back is turned from the camera, then he looks around. “I am humble before God and my mother, but look. I know exactly who I am, I know exactly what I’m capable of. I’m 3-0, I expected to be 3-0, I expect to be 5-0, I expect to win the Continental Classic, b*tch, because I’m the Ace of the World!” But then Swerve walks in and laughs, holding up nine fingers. Swerve notes they’re each at nine points, and he says it’ll take more than a few new kick pads to stop the momentum Swerve’s on. As we saw in LA, he is willing to do whatever it takes to win. It doesn’t matter who is in his way. Remember that, aight?
Good! Moxley will do the same. Then see you in Texas, playboy. Swerve heads out, and Winter is Coming! Who will be THE leader of Gold League after this one?
Ben Mankiewicz IS here!
The iconic TCM host says, “Every generation, a performer comes along who redefines what it means to be human. For some, it may be Garbo, Brando, or Groucho. But for us, it’s Toni Storm. Never before has an artist incapsulated the triumph and tribulation of being a woman in professional wrestling. Her every slam brings a smile. Every piledriver paints a picture. You’ve seen her in Portrait of a Star, Lover’s Lament, and Hold That Butler. But tonight might be her greatest role of all. So sit back, chin up, and watch for the shoe.

It has been more than 13 YEARS since these two have been 1v1, and it cost them their FORTY YEARS of friendship! They were once a tag team that reeked of awesomeness, but now they will wreak havoc in Montreal! Who leaves here the Face of TNT, the Face of AEW and the Face of Canada?

Winner: Christian Cage, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)
Fans are furious and devastated! Christian survives his grudge match with Edge, and may have done irreparable damage, both physically and emotionally. Is there nothing that can stop The Patriarchy?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite for AEW’s Montreal debut, all killer no filler. And oh look, a Montreal Screwjob. Granted, it works in story and I totally expected it to happen, but wow, Shayna Wayne screwing over Edge over the Con-Chair-To when it’s her son who decided to follow Christian Cage and turn into a jackass. But this can’t be the end of it, only the next phase, and maybe we get an even wilder TNT Championship match for Worlds End in three weeks. Because in the end, it still has to be Luchasaurus who screws Christian over to assert his independence.
I should’ve figured they were going to find a way to not give us MJF & Joe VS Devil’s Minions. Great promo from MJF and Hangman with Joe stopping that fight, and the minions being distractions while The Devil himself more than likely attacked MJF. A little surprised Joe’s response promo wasn’t this week, but there’s a good chance he and MJF both speak next week. And Roddy had a really good promo, he and Hangman are going to have a great match, can’t wait to see how this factors into the mystery of The Devil’s identity.
I cannot believe and I absolutely love that they got THE Ben Mankiewicz to do a TCM introduction for Toni Storm. Great match from Storm with Skye, but of course Storm wins out. I do appreciate it was clean, too, but really close with just a quick pin finishing it. And Riho coming back is awesome, she and Storm will have a great title match for Worlds End to really add to Storm’s third reign. An interesting detail was Mariah May being out there to start, but then disappeared during the course of the match. Is Mariah just getting close to Storm just so she can snatch that title away from her? That’d be pretty clever, really.
And great stuff in the Continental Classic again, though rather surprising we’re crossing off people in the third week. Moxley and Swerve are going strong, and White makes a great rebound. But that means Mark and Lethal are done already, just fighting to spoil other runs, and probably fighting to not be last place. Great interaction between Moxley and Swerve as the leaders of Gold League, and their match next week on Winter is Coming will be wild. Moxley said he’s all beat up, Swerve has been hot through the Hangman feud, I’m thinking Swerve should take this one to just dominate the Gold League.
My Score: 8.9/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!
Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Backstage interview with Harley Cameron.
Renee is now with the “multifaceted” Harley and notes she’s in action against Willow Nightingale tonight. Harley says yes, she IS multifaceted. She wants us to appreciate ALL her facets! Renee says yes, but she has yet to earn a singles win in AEW. Fine, ruin her fun. But then Harley asks if some person off camera is gonna say anything or just stand there. In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…
Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. Ford will watch Harley’s back and Harley will watch Ford’s. Wait, is something on Harley’s back? No, Harley… Just good luck. FEEL THE WRATH OF HARLEY CAMERON! No, she was being nice to you, Harley. If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10
