AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay VS MJF!
Like many of us, The Aerial Assassin despise the Wolf of Wrestling for how he disrespected and used Daniel Garcia just to send a message. But also like many, Ospreay at least acknowledges and respects that this form of Maxwell Jacob Friedman is his most dangerous. Will Ospreay be able to put down AEW’s Ultimate Scumbag? Or will even the #BillyGOAT not be on the level of the devil?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who ignites episode 250!

There was literally two seconds left, but MJF pulls it off!! The Wolf of Wrestling proves he’s still just a lowdown dirty snake, but he’s the snake that stole the gold from the #BillyGOAT. Medics help both guys get icepacks, water and oxygen, and MJF rises like a zombie to celebrate himself. The Scumbag may have survived The Aerial Assassin, but will he be ready to go All In against The Bastard?
Backstage interview Mark Briscoe & The Acclaimed.
Arkady Aura is with the Sussex County Chicken, as well as Max Caster & Anthony Bowens, and says they asked for this time to talk with each other. Caster says that’s right, because they know Mr. Briscoe is on Team AEW for Blood & Guts. They also know that Team AEW needs a couple more partners, and the only way Mark gets “The Best Wrestler Alive” on his side is when Caster & Bowens join the team together. Plus, The Acclaimed just beat The Bucks a couple weeks ago, they have their number, this is a no brainer! Bowens says that’s right! And they’re also this close to becoming AEW World Tag Team Champions once again, they want a piece of The Bucks’ asses!
Plus, when you think AEW, you think The Acclaimed, because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! So they want in! Mark says that’s right! They had his back a couple weeks ago, so as far as he’s concerned, The Acclaimed is in, baby! But Mark’s not the only man calling the shots on this, if you understand what he’s saying. In steps AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland. Swerve says listen! They’ve been through their fair share of squabbles, so he knows what Acclaimed is all about. Swerve’s also been in battles with The Briscoes, so he knows Dem Boys are real tough people. There is nobody better to go to war with than those you’ve battled against.
Therefore, “y’all ready to get violent?” The Acclaimed say hell yeah! Hands in, and Mark warns The Elite that Team AEW is coming for them! LET’S GO, BABY!! Bowens & Caster follow Briscoe out, Swerve nods, will this team be ready to rip apart The Elite? Will Swerve be ready for The Rainmaker later on tonight in the main event? Or will Kazuchika Okada rain on Swerve’s House and wash it away?
“Big Bill” Morrissey is in the ring.
The Redwood introduces to the “seeds, saplings, roots and most importantly, branches,” the Learning Tree, Chris Jericho! The “For The World” Champion is accompanied by “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith as he makes his way out here, waving to Little Rock. The fans boo but Jericho still smiles. “Hi, guys~! Y’know, Little Rock, you need to take a few lessons from The Learning Tree. This city is such a high-crime, violent city, 1,533 crimes for ever 100,000 people, you can do better than that! But let’s talk about Dynamite 250 for AEW, I was on the very first Dynamite, and I’ve been on almost every single one since.
“And the ones that I missed, the Branches were so angry, cards and letters filed in, so I made a promise, I’m never gonna miss another Dynamite again.” The fans boo but Jericho says he’ll be on every one, even until episode 500! It’s like he’s said: When you listen to The Learning Tree, good things happen. And when you don’t, people get hurt, dammit! This isn’t right! Jericho is begging us all to listen to him! Look to those who haven’t. Shibata’s arm, Hook getting that fireball to his face, that’s horrible. And then Samoa Joe is literally driven through a wall because he wasn’t listening to The Learning Tree!
Jericho is begging us, this has to stop! People are getting hurt! At this point, everyone should realize they need to listen to Jericho. Surely everyone knows the teachings of Jericho are so important. Who would be crazy enough not to listen? Who would be psychotic enough not to use the teachings of Jericho? Who would be maniacal enough to- IS THAT MINORU SUZUKI!? Jericho is very worried seeing the Meanest Man in the World returning here to AEW! Suzuki has a paper in his hands, but what could it be? Suzuki goes to the ring and fans get fired up. Suzuki waits, and he steps in at “KAZE NI NARE~!”
Suzuki stares Jericho down while the fans cheer him on. Suzuki looks at the FTW Championship, then he snatches Jericho’s mic. “Next week…” Suzuki holds up the paper, Keith snatches it, and Keith reads it for Jericho. This is an official order from AEW management. The Redwood AND Bad Apple are banned from ringside for Jericho VS Suzuki, an FTW Championship match! Suzuki then HEADBUTTS Jericho down! Bill goes to help Jericho and Keith backs up. Suzuki grins and waves, “Bye, guys~!” Jericho looks to be fearing for his life now that he knows there is someone crazy enough to ignore his teachings. Will the King of Pancrase cut down The Learning Tree?
The Elite speak.
Nicholas asks Matthew and Okada if they heard all that. The Elite heard what The Acclaimed, Mark Briscoe and Swerve Strickland had to say, and it is ridiculous! What pisses them off even more is that The Acclaimed think they’re just gonna become two-time AEW Tag Team Champions. Not on their watch! Matt says what those guys need is a reminder about just who the hecc they are! This is THE Elite, the greatest team in AEW. And after next week, they’ll have all the gold and all the power! Nick points out it won’t be all the gold. Swerve is still AEW World Champion. Well, Matt says after what they do to Swerve, that title might just end up vacated.
Because see, they’re dealing with the most dangerous people in the business. They’re going up against The Young Bucks, the greatest tag team ever. They’re dealing with the Continental Champion, The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada. They’re dealing with the unpredictable Scapegoat, the TNT Champion, Jack Perry. And Matt’s favorite part: making his return to The Elite, Hangman Adam Page! And oh, in steps the TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone! The CEO says hi to the EVPs, and she thanks them for banning Britt Baker from even being backstage tonight so that she can’t ruin Dynamite 250 for them.
Matt says let’s just say there’s no drama coming from The DMD to the CEO, via the EVPs. Okada whispers something to Matt and Matt asks if Mone will do the dance for them. Oh, her CEO shuffle? Of course! C E O! C E O! Ok, got to go~! Mone heads out, Okada wipes himself down. He claims it’s just really hot back here. Matt & Nick say okay, sure. But will The CEO still be golden like The Elite? Or will she end up the Native Beast’s next meal?
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Nyla Rose!
Well, as we just heard, there will be no Britt Baker anywhere tonight because that is how bad she got under The CEO’s skin. Mone even made sure this Open Challenge would not allow Britt to answer it, so in steps a different former AEW Women’s World Champion. Will Mone find there are threats all over the AEW roster? Or will she still be making that double champion type bank?
The introductions are made, the teal title is raised, and we see who is truly the Face of TBS!
The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally and duel, the two tie up, and Mone tries but she can’t push Nyla back at all! Nyla puts Mone in a corner, Mone goes up the ropes, but the ref counts. Nyla lets off but Mone scuffs her. Nyla is annoyed, but she mocks Mone’s dance. Nyla runs up, Mone leaps over, but then Nyla runs up again. Mone gets around, waistlocks, but Nyla THROWS her away! The fans rally, Nyla storms up but Mone drop toeholds her onto ropes! Mone CLUBS and stomps away on Nyla. Mone drags Nyla up to stomp into a corner, but the ref counts. Mone digs her boots in, but lets off at 4.
Mone backs off to then storm back up and drag Nyla up. Mone talks trash, but Nyla reels her in! Nyla suplexes, and she holds Mone up, does a squat or two, but Mone slips free! Mone CLUBS Nyla, runs, but Nyla scoops her! Nyla stops the tilt-o-whirl, and shouts, “Have you lost your mind?!” Nyla suplexes to hang Mone out to dry! Nyla KNEES Mone, goes to the corner and climbs, and the fans fire up for the GUILLOTINE KNEE DROP! Nyla drags Money to the cover, TWO!! Mone survives and Nyla is frustrated, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Nyla drags Mone up, ELBOWS her down, then she drags Mone into a backbreaker rack across her knee! Mone endures, even as Nyla pushes her down! Mone fights free with kicks, then fires forearms. Nyla ROCKS Mone right back! Nyla then torture racks Mone to thrash her around! Mone endures, slips down, but Nyla blocks the arm-drag! Nyla whips Mone into the corner, then runs in, only for Mone to move! Nyla POSTS herself, then Mone goes to the apron. Mone BOOTS Nyla into the post! Nyla falls back, Mone soaks up the cheers and jeers, then she sits Nyla down. METEORA! Mone drags Nyla to a cover, TWO!
Mone is upset so she rains down fists! The ref reprimands, Mone lets off to swagger around. Mone stalks Nyla, stomps her around, then bumps her off buckles. Mone stands Nyla up for forearm after forearm, then she climbs up to rain down fists! Mone goes to nine, soaks up the cheers and jeers, but Nyla brings Mone off the corner! Mone RANAS Nyla away, hurries to run, and she METEORAS again! Cover, TWO! Mone is frustrated but Nyla’s a former champion for a reason. Mone drags Nyla up, and clamps on with a COBRA TWIST! Nyla endures, even as Mone puts on the pressure. Mone ELBOWS Nyla in the ribs, but Nyla powers out with a hip toss!
Mone stands, blocks a boot and KNEES Nyla back. Mone runs, slips around, and has a SLEEPER! Dynamite 250 returns to single picture while Nyla starts to fade! The fans rally, Nyla fights up, and she swings Mone around into a facelock! Nyla snap suplexes Money away! The fans fire up while Mone flounders to a corner. Nyla snarls, rises up, and runs in to back body block! And then LARIAT! Mone staggers back up, Nyla runs in at the corner and SPLASHES! Mone sits down, Nyla fires up and Little Rock is with her! CANNONBALL! Nyla drags Mone to a cover, TWO!! Mone survives, showing why she’s been champion all over the world.
Nyla snarls, and she goes up the corner. Mone stands to kick the leg! Nyla falls, Mone goes up and up to VADER BOMB! Nyla sputters, Mone gets moving, BOOT WASH! Mone pushes Nyla, goes up the corner, and she METEORAS again! Cover, TWO!! Nyla survives and Mone can’t believe it! Mone drags Nyla up, turns her, but Nyla’s too big to Gory Especial! Nyla RAMS Mone into the corner, the fans duel, but Nyla puts Mone up top. Nyla then climbs up to have Mone’s arm. But Mone fires elbows on Nyla! Mone adjusts position, and SUPER BULLDOGS! Mone then brings out a glove, all to mock Britt!
Mone puts on her glove, spells out “C! E! O!” RINGS OF SATURN, and then the LOCKJAW!! Nyla BITES Mone’s fingers!! That’s what Mone gets! But then DRIBBLES Nyla’s face off the mat, and puts on the STATEMENT MAKER! Nyla taps, Mone wins!
Winner: Mercedes Mone, by submission (still AEW TBS Champion)
Mone may not be able to do it like The DMD, but she still wins out and holds up both belts. Mone then spots a fan with a sign, “DMD > CEO,” and she snatches that sign! Mone RIPS the sign up, and the fan wearing the Sting mask is upset. That fan pie faces Mone!? Because surprise! It’s BRITT BAKER!! The DMD suck into the show and The CEO is running for her life!! Security surrounds Mone to shield her from Britt! The guards then swarm Britt, and Mone is safe, for now. Will Britt have her Wembley Stadium moment with Mone whether Mone likes it or not?
Jack Perry speaks.
The Scapegoat flips a coin, then tells Darby Allin, “You wanted to get my attention? Well, you’ve got it now. All you had to do was ask. Did you really have to go and hurt Brandon Cutler? Maybe what I mean to say is, do you think I give a s*it about Brandon Cutler?” He is standing OVER Brandon! And then THROWS him through a door! Jack SMACKS Brandon off a boiler, then tells Darby to come find Jack tonight. Then Jack will show Darby what real sacrifice looks like. Will The Relentless One get that fight with the TNT Champion after all?
Toni Storm is here!
The Leading Lady is back so soon after how brutally Mariah May betrayed her? Wait, no… That’s Mariah May taking her cosplay to a new level. The understudy is now portraying the part of AEW Women’s World Champion as she menacingly makes her way down to the ring. The fans boo the protege for how she did Toni Storm dirty, but Mariah grabs a mic for herself. The fans chant for Toni but Mariah sighs. “Let’s be honest. You all saw it coming. Everybody saw it coming, except Toni Storm.” The fans boo but Mariah says that woman is so desperate for the spotlight, she didn’t realize she was giving it all away.
“The question shouldn’t be ‘why,’ the question should be, ‘Mariah, what took you so long?’ Honestly, I didn’t think it would last this long either. But it was so… easy! And I was having so much fun stringing her along, I just wanted to see how far it would go. But then, I saw Wembley. And I thought, ‘Why take the old horse out back when I can kill it in front of as many people as possible?” The fans boo more but Mariah says she’s been Toni Storm, and now she can be so much more! Fans chant “We Want Toni!” and Mariah smirks. Mariah tells Toni not to worry, she still loves her. In fact, she’s never loved her more than when Toni was on her knees, screaming and crying Mariah’s name. “That was your greatest performance.”
As for Mariah’s greatest performance, that will be at All In! The fans boo more but Mariah says now, AEW is All About Mariah! Mariah then lies back on the mat to revel in it just like Toni would. But will Toni make sure Mariah suffers far worse than what she gave Toni?
AEW shares post show footage from Collision.
The Bang Bang Gang returned backstage but they’re asked about being stripped of the Unified World Trios Championships. Juice said hold on, they ain’t been stripped of nothing. Whoever wants these belts will have to pry them out of their cold, dead hands! But then Christopher Daniels and a couple refs appear backstage, and the Fallen Angel knows it isn’t the most popular decision, nor is it fair to the champs, but that’s the rules of AEW. Austin says he isn’t taking these belts! Daniels says it’s either that or they’re suspended and they don’t get a chance to fight for them against The Patriarchy.
Colten says fine, take ’em. Take all nine belts! Daniels gathers them up and Austin tells Christian Cage that they are not scared of a guy with a daddy fetish, some TikTok kid, a stepmom straight outta Brazzers, and a giant lizard! Juice says what will happen is The Collision Cowboys come home, and they come home with their little hardware homies! And if you’re not down with that, they’ve got two words for ya: GUNS UP! Will Rock Hard Robinson, Fully Cocked Colten, and… Austin make sure Captain Charisma and his “sons” never touch the gold? Or can no one stop The Patriarchy from taking over AEW?
Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Kazuchika Okada!
It is a Champion VS Champion showdown to close this milestone episode, but no titles are on the line. However, Blood & Guts is just next week, and each side is looking for momentum. Will Little Rock belong to Swerve’s House? Or will The Rainmaker prove he’s the top champion in AEW?
The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” The two tie up, Okada headlocks for the takeover but Swerve headscissors. Okada kips free, roles reverse, but then Okada headscissors. Swerve kips free, blocks the takeover this time, and he brings Okada up to power out. Okada avoids the hurdle, BOOTS back, then runs. Swerve rolls to trip Okada, then runs. Okada avoids the House Call, waistlocks then ripcords, but Swerve ducks the lariat! Swerve half nelsons but Okada fights out! Swerve arm-drags, Okada headscissors, Swerve kips up, and fans fire up for the stare down!
Swerve grins but Okada brushes things off. The two reset, knuckle lock, and Okada kicks low! Okada CLUBS Swerve, ROCKS him with a forearm, then scoops. Swerve slips free, Okada runs up, but Swerve goes up and over to roll Okada up. Okada rolls through but Swerve EDDY GORDO RANAS! The fans fire up, Swerve runs to UPPERCUT Okada! Swerve snapmares Okada, goes up and FALLING UPPERCUTS! Swerve hits the Griddy and fans cheer! Swerve even mocks the Rainmaker pose! Okada sits up and glares at Swerve. Swerve eggs Okada on, so Okada ROCKS him! Swerve ROCKS Okada back!
The forearms go back and forth, then they pick up speed! Okada dares Swerve to hit him, so Swerve kicks low! Swerve whips, Okada reverses to then FLAPJACK! Swerve tumbles out of the ring but Okada pursues. Okada runs up to kick and DDT to the floor! Swerve writhes and Okada just watches him while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ring count climbs, but Okada drags Swerve up. Okada brings Swerve over, SMACKS him off steps, and he stalks Swerve around the way. Okada SMACKS Swerve off the steps again! Okada refreshes the count, then pursues Swerve. Swerve rolls into the ring but Okada drags him out. Okada RAMS Swerve into the barriers! The fans are torn but Okada just goes back into the ring. Swerve rolls in, Okada drags him up, but Swerve fires body shots! Swerve shoves Okada, fireman’s carries, but Okada fights free to go for an arm! Then he hits a NECKBREAKER! Okada watches Swerve flounder away, then storms up on him.
Okada brings Swerve up but Swerve pushes him into a corner. Okada CLUBS Swerve down, whips corner to corner hard, and Swerve falls to his knees. Okada runs in to ELBOW Swerve, and Swerve falls again. Okada rests against ropes, taking Swerve a little lightly here, but he goes back over. Okada brings Swerve up to ROCK him, then UPPERCUT him! Swerve goes to a corner, but he fires forearms in return! Okada eggs Swerve on, so Swerve fires more shots! Okada UPPERCUTS Swerve again! Swerve drops to his knees, and Okada kicks him. Okada eggs Swerve on, the fans rally up, and Okada scuffs Swerve.

Gator roll to the deadlift and BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Okada survives that and Swerve grows frustrated. Swerve shakes out his arms, then goes to a corner. Okada sits up in a daze but Swerve goes up. Okada hurries to anchor Swerve! Okada brings Swerve down to CLAW his face! The ref reprimands, Okada lets off, but then Okada brings Swerve out in the Alabama Lift! REVERSE NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!

Okada rises, the fans boo, and Okada Rainmaker MIDDLE FINGERS! But Swerve victory rolls him! TWO!! Okada runs up and stops the discus, to DISCUS miss as Swerve goes Matrix! Swerve kips up to mule kick, CLUB, BOOT, and- DROPKICK from Okada! The fans fire up while both men are down! The ref starts a standing count and the fans rally up. Both men sit up at 5 of 10, and Okada flounders to a corner.
Swerve runs up, blocks a boot and CLUBS the leg! Okada tries again but Swerve slips around to scoop and BACKBREAKER! Then right into a powerbomb to POWERSLAM! Swerve hurries up the corner, takes aim, KILL- NO, Okada dodges! Okada scoops and TOMBSTONE!! Okada roars because he’s not done! He drags Swerve up, ripcords, RAIN- JUMPING STOMPS!! The fans are thunderous and Swerve aims from a corner! “Whose House?” THE BUCKS ATTACK SWERVE!
Winner: Swerve Strickland, by disqualification
The fans boo but The Elite doesn’t care about the win anymore, because they’re looking to hurt Swerve! But wait, here comes The Acclaimed! they brawl with The Bucks! But then Jack Perry shows up to CLOBBER Caster! But then here comes Mark Briscoe! Chicken DECKS Matt, DECKS Jack, and DECKS Nick! Team AEW stands tall together, but Jack comes back for more! Security and refs hurry in to stop this, but the security gets thrown aside! Jack is after Darby, Mark helps Darby against him, but then Mark has to fight off Nick! Darby dribbles Jack off the floor! Jack RAMS Darby into railing, Mark returns to help Darby! Security finally separates the factions, which is just fine by The Bucks! But will nothing stop Team AEW from destroying this corrupt Elite once and for all?
My Thoughts:
Now this was an awesome episode of Dynamite. They only advertised three matches, and it turns out that’s all we needed. Ospreay VS MJF was made the opener so they could just go off and give us almost an hour of their best stuff. It kinda makes some PPV matches feel lesser now, but hey, a match of the year candidate is still a match of the year candidate, no matter if it’s TV or PPV. MJF winning out surprised me, but he did cheat so that protects Ospreay. I was hoping for Ospreay VS Pac at All In, but I suppose “The Scumbag VS The Bastard” makes for some fun build. And with how much MJF was taunting Garcia, this has to mean Garcia shows up at All In to go after MJF.
TV Time with Jericho was properly short because we can’t actually drag the show to a screeching halt after how awesome Ospreay VS MJF was. As Jericho started listing qualities like “crazy” and “maniacal,” I just felt Suzuki showing up. Suzuki getting his FTW Championship match with Jericho next week is great, but I’m still thinking Jericho retains. Now, while Keith & Bill are banned from ringside, nothing is stopping Hook from showing up. Hook could go after Jericho after he retains, and that sets up Jericho VS Hook for All In. Which would be interesting because that makes it back to back All In shows for Hook and this FTW Championship.
Good promo from The Bang Bang Gang with Daniels, but like, so filler. Who needed to see them hand over the belts? Or rather, why couldn’t they have figured out to do that during Collision? Very good promo from Mariah May where she completes her transformation into Toni Storm’s replacement. She even phrased it “All About Mariah” to nod how this has been All About Eve the movie, in wrestling form. The fans kept going “What?” just cuz she was taking things slowly, which is rude, but I do feel she could’ve been faster about it. She was definitely going for something with her pacing, but maybe she was also just filling for a little more time. Toni will surely have a response next week or something, though.
Very good promo from Acclaimed with Mark Briscoe and Swerve to establish the Acclaimed joining Team AEW, and very good response promo from The Elite to call them out on it. Though, what a weird detail for Okada to be a Mone simp. He’s married for crying out loud! But that aside, Mone is still tangentially a part of The Elite, and she had a very good match with Nyla tonight. Mone of course found the way to win, but I do appreciate Britt gives us a Sting shoutout by wearing the Sting mask before revealing she was here. Mone running scared was pretty funny, and yeah duh, this match is happening at All In.
In relation, very good promo from Jack Perry, even if poor Brandon had to get beat up again. Jack calling Darby out was good foreshadowing for Darby’s own Sting tribute, and I figured last week that Darby Allin was going to be Team AEW for Blood & Guts. Great main event from Swerve VS Okada that The Bucks of course had to “ruin” to save Okada from a legit loss. At the same time, this keeps either champion from owing the other a title match so close to All In. Great brawl to give us the full 5v5, Blood & Guts is going to be some wild stuff, and it can definitely go either with so many champions involved this time. However, as Mark Briscoe is the only one whose rivalry is NOT in Blood & Guts, he probably takes the loss for Team AEW.
My Score: 9.1/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!
Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?
Konosuke Takeshita & Brian Cage w/ Don Callis VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Mark Davis!
The teams sort out and Konosuke starts against Hobbs to give the DC fans a preview of Worlds End. Hobbs and Konosuke step up, talk trash, and then the forearms go back and forth! The fans cheer for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” and Hobbs ROCKS Konosuke! Hobbs even shouts “MEAT!” before he whips Konosuke. Konosuke ducks ‘n’ dodges but then so does Hobbs! Hobbs SPINE- NO, Konosuke flails free and Hobbs says it was that close. Konosuke says to cool off while he paces on the outside. Konosuke steps back into the ring, but he tags to Cage. The fans stay fired up for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” as Cage and Hobbs circle.
Hobbs and Cage DOUBLE LARIAT! Neither man falls, so they DOUBLE LARIAT again! And again! And again! Cage kicks low, shouts, “Who Betta Than Cage?” But then Hobbs CLOBBERS him! Hobbs even gets Konosuke to back down with a glare. Hobbs brings Cage up to fire forearms, then he tags Davis. Davis & Hobbs double whip and DOUBLE SHOULDER TACKLE! The fans fire up as Davis stalks Cage to a corner. Davis CHOPS Cage, and CHOPS again! And CHOPS again! Cage sputters but Davis scoops to SLAM Cage down! Then ELBOW DROP! Cover, ONE! Cage stays in this but Davis bumps him off buckles.
Tag to Hobbs and he brings Cage out. Hobbs and Davis reel Cage in, fans chant “AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE! MEAT MEAT MEAT!” but Konosuke makes the save! Konosuke swings, Hobbs dodges, so the elbow DECKS Davis! Hobbs ROCKS Konosuke, Cage ROCKS Hobbs! Cage clinches, Konosuke returns, KNEE RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP COMBO! Cage covers, TWO! Cage rains down fists, the ref reprimands, but Cage steps off. Cage drags Hobbs up, bumps him off buckles, and tags Konosuke. The Callis Family stomps a mudhole into Hobbs, but then Hobbs CHOPS Konosuke! Konosuke snarls, and he CHOPS in return!
Konosuke ROCKS Hobbs, climbs up, and he rains down fists! The fans count but then Konosuke BITES Hobbs on the forehead! The ref counts, Konosuke lets off, and Hobbs sputters on the ropes. Konosuke tags to Cage and the Family gets Hobbs up. They DOUBLE SUPLEX Hobbs! Cage covers, TWO! Cage drags Hobbs up but Hobbs fires body shots. Hobbs UPPERCUTS but Cage ROCKS Hobbs! Cage ROCKS Hobbs again, Hobbs fires back, repeat! The fans rally for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Cage gets the edge, then whips, but Hobbs KICKS him away! Cage swings, Hobbs bobs ‘n’ weaves, to then hit an EXPLODER!
The fans fire up while Hobbs crawls, hot tag to Davis! Davis fires hands on Cage, “MEAT! MEAT!” Davis DECKS Cage, then whips him to ropes. Cage reveres but Davis picks him up, BACKDROP! Davis SENTONS but onto knees! Davis writhes, Cage tags Konosuke! POWER- NO, Davis stops the knee! Davis takes a swing but Konosuke ducks that, to BLUE THUNDER BOMB!! High stack, TWO!! Davis survives and Konosuke snarls, but Rampage goes picture in picture.
Konosuke rains down fists on Davis, but lets off as the ref reprimands. Konosuke tags Cage and Cage drags Davis up. Cage ROCKS Davis, whips him into a corner, and Davis hits buckles chest first! Cage RAMS into Davis, and RAMS in again, then CHOPS! Davis staggers but Cage whips him to ropes. Davis reverses, to dosido with Cage, only for Cage to CLOBBER Davis! Cage BOOTS Davis down, covers, but Hobbs breaks it! Cage gets mad and the ref reprimands Hobbs, then Cage soaks up heat from DC. Cage stalks Davis to a corner and fires haymakers! The ref reprimands but Cage DECKS Davis! Cage soaks up more heat while he flexes.

But not for long as they both roar to their feet!
Konosuke swings, and he SWATS Davis’ enzigiri! Konosuke then POWER DRIVE KNEES!! And then, RAGING FIRE!! Cover, Callis Family wins!
Winners: Konosuke Takeshita & Brian Cage, by pinfall
The Alpha slam dunks on Dunkzilla, and now he has 8 days to prepare for the Powerhouse! Will Konosuke hold onto his International Championship against Hobbs? Or will taking that title be the perfect payback?
Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.
Renee Paquette is with the Babe with the Power who is in action later tonight. But first, Renee wants to congratulate Willow to making it to the finals of the inaugural International Women’s Cup. Lio Rush & Action Andretti VS Myles Hawkins & Goldy!
The dysfunction in Top Flight Airlines led to The Bad Child & The Sight to See winning over Darius & Dante Martin, meaning they’re next up to face Private Party. Will this be little more than a tune-up for Lio & Action?

Fast win for this furious duo, but “Oh my gosh, is that Private Party?” Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy make their way out here and DC fires up! The AEW World Tag Team Champions call for “SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!” Lio & Action get their shot in the near future, but wait! Dante & Darius make their way out here? Private Party looks to the tunnels, but Lio & Action CLOBBER them from behind! Dante, Darius & Leila don’t worry about the champs, they stare Lio & Action down. Lio & Action hold up the belts, then throw them at the Martins. The refs keep this from getting any more physical, but will Lio & Action take those belts from Quen & Zay soon enough?
Backstage interview with Harley Cameron.
Renee is now with the “multifaceted” Harley and notes she’s in action against Willow Nightingale tonight. Harley says yes, she IS multifaceted. She wants us to appreciate ALL her facets! Renee says yes, but she has yet to earn a singles win in AEW. Fine, ruin her fun. But then Harley asks if some person off camera is gonna say anything or just stand there. In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…
Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. Ford will watch Harley’s back and Harley will watch Ford’s. Wait, is something on Harley’s back? No, Harley… Just good luck. FEEL THE WRATH OF HARLEY CAMERON! No, she was being nice to you, Harley. Right, don’t feel the wrath of Harley Cameron. There is nothing on your back, Harley, stop scratching. Wait! W-What? Nothing, sorry. But will Harley be feeling Willow’s wrath instead?

They both beat up on Willow, but here comes Kris! Kris Statlander storms the ring, Harley & Ford run away! Willow is again surprised, but the fans want these two to “Hug It Out! Hug It Out!” Kris says no, she doesn’t feel like it’s the right time. Kris lets Willow have the ring, is this proof that the #BornAgainKristen isn’t just a nickname?

From Wembley Stadium to Double J being in the Owen Hart Cup, some true career highlights that he will cherish forever. But Jarrett doesn’t like looking in the rearview mirror, he likes to look ahead. Next week, he’s not bringing resolutions, he’s bringing a game plan for 2025! What does the Last Outlaw have in store for himself and the team in the New Year?
AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Brody King VS Komander!
While the rest of Gold League stands at 6 points, these two men are struggling to keep up. Will the King of Death join that traffic jam at the front of the block? Or will the Commander of the Skies be a spoiler for Christmas?
The bell rings and we’re on the clock. Brody and Komander circle while the fans bark it up. There are fans who sing “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~” for Komander as the two tie up. Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)
If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy and Jay White.
Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed and The Switchblade, and says that ahead of their main event Trios match where they team up with Hangman Page, they also must be thinking about their Fatal 4 Way match for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End. Are they more focused on the Death Riders tonight? Or more on each other? Cassidy’s about to speak when White asks Renee to bring the mic over to him. White says Cassidy already gave them a hell of a pep talk in the locker room so he’s all talked out. Where is our focus? Is it on the Death Riders tonight? Is it on each other? Is it on Worlds End?
Make no mistake, Renee, and Mr. Cassidy, White’s focus is on the AEW World Championship. But White knows that they have to make it to Worlds End, so that means relying on people he usually doesn’t rely on. He has no Bang Bang Gang, so that makes he has to rely on the likes of… Orange. And on the likes of Hangman Adam Page. But no, no, no, he is not so stupid to rely on that guy, because he’s only good at one thing: Letting himself and everyone around him down time and time again! So if there is one man they do not need on this team, it is H- HEY! There he is! Hangman Page walks into the room and White does a 180 on his attitude.
Hangman tells White to shut his mouth and listen up. Tonight, Moxley is not White’s nor is he Cassidy’s. Tonight, the champion belongs to Hangman! The Cowboy heads out and White says, “Aye, aye, captain! At least you brought your black jacket so we’re matching tonight! C’mon, partner!” White heads after Hangman, and Cassidy sighs as he puts on his sunglasses. Can the Good, the Bad & the Freshly Squeezed make it past Moxley and his Death Riders? Or will The Maniac, The Decoder & The Bastard use this dysfunction to tear them down?
Darby Allin speaks.
“Darby Allin, Will Ospreay. It’s showtime.”
Will Ospreay speaks.
“Oi, oi, Washington, DC! You’re in for a treat tonight, for the C2 rolls on, and you get to witness an elite dream match as the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, goes one-on-one with Darby Allin. And while I am grateful for saving my neck last week, sir, don’t let that stand in the way because it’s time for warfare, bruv. And no one fairs better in warfare than the Assassin. So allow me to show you why my name is Will Ospreay, and why I am on another level.” Both men need this win if they want to head for Worlds End, who will be one step closer to those semifinals?
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Anna Jay!
The CEO is still #TwoBeltsMone after holding onto the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship through NJPW Strong Style Evolved. But the walls are really closing in as Mina Shirakawa issued a challenge right after that match, meaning Mone has a date for WrestleDynasty! But will Mone still be the “greatest TBS Champion ever” after facing the Queenslayer? Or will Anna finally make herself the Star of the Show?

Anna adjusts, she FLYING BLOCKBUSTERS! Cover, TWO! Mone survives and Anna grows frustrated. Anna runs up at the corner, LEG LARIAT! Anna goes side to side, another LEG LARIAT! Then Anna goes the other way, LEG LARIAT! A hattrick of her own and Anna puts Mone up top! DANGEROUS JAY KICK! ICONOCLASM! Anna holds on, YANKS Mone right into the Gory Especial, GORY BOMB!! Cover, ROPEBREAK!! Mone survives by fingertips and Anna can’t believe it! The fans rally and duel as hard as they can while Anna grabs legs. Mone kicks Anna away then slips out to the apron. But Anna avoids the shoulder to KNEE LIFT!

Anna made Mone work for it, but Mone still earned this win! Kris Statlander is watching in the back, just as she promised she would. Will the #BornAgainKristen make sure Mone is down a title at Worlds End?
FTR speaks.
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler were at home in Asheville, North Carolina, and Cash says it has been a few days since what happened to them on Collision. And it was over nothing. FTR said they had no problems with the Death Riders. They may not agree with the Death Riders’ methods, and they don’t disagree with the message. AEW does need to change for the better, some people need to be forced into that change. But FTR stopped them from poisoning a man! They weren’t going to sit back and watch them pour cleaning solution down a human being’s throat. That is all they did. And yet that gets them blindfolded, dragged outside, and the crap kicked out of them, left for dead in the cold…
As they were lying on the concrete, Dax was thinking, “What is a life after wrestling? Is there a life after wrestling for FTR?” They built their whole lives around this one thing, so what else is there for them to do? They got off the phone with Doc Sampson just before filming this. Doc says he won’t medically cleared them for the rest of the year. So from now until January 1st, Death Riders better not sleep, because FTR will show up at their doorstep. That won’t be good for them or their families. But on January 1st, Asheville, NC, FTR will be there. They will be in that ring, they will be cleared, and they will fight the Death Riders.
By the way, they won’t be coming alone. #TopGuysOut. Who could Dax & Cash be hinting at as allies against Moxley and his minions?
MJF is here!
Washington, DC is not all that happy to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman going to the ring with a mic in hand, even if he’s dressed in his Hannukah suit. MJF has them cut his music, and he takes a moment to hear all the booing. “Oh, you don’t like me, huh, guys? Good thing I don’t care about the opinions of a bunch of disgustings from DC. I mean, if I did care about your opinion, I wouldn’t have signed on to be an AEW wrestler, I would’ve signed on to become a part of your whack-ass Washington Wizards. Oh, it’s my fault they suck? That’s my fault? I’m sorry.” Some fans actually chant, “Wizards Suck! Wizards Suck!”
MJF says let’s face it, guys. He’s no Scrooge. For crying out loud, it’s the most wonderful time~ of the year~! MJF says pretty soon, the most important holiday, which is part of the most important religion, is coming up. And yes, you guessed it, it’s Hannukah. And if you don’t celebrate that, well sorry, Santa is not real and MJF is not sorry for saying it. The fans chant for “SANTA! SANTA!” which confuses MJF. Santa didn’t give them a lump of coal, it was because their parents were too poor to get real gifts. So everyone just pipe down a bit, okay? The fans boo but MJF continues.
MJF says Hannukah is all about giving, so he is feeling rather philanthropic. Not that anyone in this crowd knows what that means. MJF is about to get a bit emotional, but he wants to talk about a fundraiser he has started. Sorry, he might cry, give him a second. MJF gets fake tears going as he asks for the sad music. The sad piano music plays, and MJF looks into the camera. “Picture this. There’s a small child sitting across from you. It is starving, it needs nourishment, it needs food. Now picture that that small child is this baybay.” A clearly doctored photo of Adam Cole appears on screen, making him look very scrawny.
MJF knows it is hard to look at but don’t avert your eyes. Cut the music, please. The music stops and MJF says right now, if you wanna help the “freakishly small, yellow baybay, all you have to do is scan the QR code you see on your screen so you can buy the Worlds End PPV this Saturday, December 28th. Guys, I’m talking, would you please shut the hell up? Unreal! To think I’m opening up to you hear. And if you buy that PPV, a part of your money will go towards my foundation to help put this small yellow child out of his misery. And for that, and for the fact that I’m better than you, you can thank me later!”
MJF drops the mic but Cole is on the tron! Adam Cole says look! Now he’s the one on the big screen while MJF is the one in the ring, looking like an idiot. As we all know, it is Cole VS MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Worlds End. And Cole wants to give MJF a heads up. He just had a meeting with Tony Khan. And because Cole knows how badly MJF wants to get his hands on his diamond ring. And if MJF wants to grab that ring before the bell rings, he’ll have to earn it. There are two men who will be ringside to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Kingdom step in, and Adam Cole says MJF will have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide.

“You can’t fight what you don’t see. But I see you exactly for what you are, Julia: a coward. Last Saturday on Collision, you decided to finally show up. But was it face to face? No, ma’am. It was when I was beat, when I was tired, and you used your tricks to attack me from behind. That’s a sneaky, classless move, Julia. Message sent. I know you’re listening, Julia, so here’s my message to you. Fight for the Fallen. I’m gonna serve you a dish best served cold. I’m gonna drop you on your head, and I’m gonna serve you up a heavy dose of Hayterade. See you then, mate.” Will Hayter kick off the New Year by crushing Julia Hart?

BREAKING NEWS for Christmas Collision!
As a reminder, it will be LIVE coast to coast on TNT this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern or whenever NCAA College Football Playoff coverage ends. That said, Adam Cole may have gotten one over on MJF tonight, but he and MJF are going to be face to face live and in person for final words before Worlds End. Plus, the Continental Classic will keep things cheery and bright as Darby Allin will face Claudio Castagnoli, and Will Ospreay will face Ricochet! Rivals all face off, who will look to take over Gold League? And in Blue League, Mark Briscoe battles The Beast Mortos while Daniel Garcia faces Shelton Benjamin! Will the Sussex County Chicken survive the menacing minotaur? Will Red Death live up to the Standard of Excellence?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“I was once known as The King of the World. And everybody wants to rule the world. But every king needs a throne from which to rule. A castle, a capital, a city. And there is no better perch, no greater vantage point from which to rule the world than New York City. From the urine soaked sidewalks of Broadway to the tear-filled potholes of Jamaica Queens. From the brownstones of Tribeca to the poshest penthouses of Spanish Harlem. From the lowliest of subjects, the ubiquitous rats, to the prominent powerbrokers and popstars, paparazzi in their wake, all have anointed me, Chris Jericho, the King of New York! And I’ll be damned if I let anyone take my crown.”
The Learning Tree thinks highly of himself as always, but he better take Final Battle seriously! Friday, December 20th, Jericho defends the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cardona, who is #AlwayZReady! Will “The Complete” Cardona take away the Nueve’s title?
Mariah May speaks.
“Thunder Rosa. When you were working as a social worker, why did you wanna become a wrestler? Was it to make your family proud? Cute. A hero is just a dreamer who doesn’t realize they’re dreaming. I’m no hero. I spent my entire career just looking out for me, and I’d say it’s served me pretty well. How dare you say this Women’s Division is alive and well when I’ve eclipsed everyone here, just by being me. And if I was here four years ago, you wouldn’t have even been hired. So let’s do your little Tijuana Street Fight so you can go on about your heritage and your culture, and please bring your father. I would love to end two generations in one night.
“And Papa Rosa? Does being a failure run in the family? I won’t be bringing my father to Worlds End. I don’t want him to se what I’m going to do.” The Glamour has sent her ultimatum, but will she regret running her mouth?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone says that later tonight, we will see Will Ospreay VS Darby Allin in the Continental Classic. But Ospreay has his work cut out for him as live this Saturday on Christmas Collision, in the Hammerstein Ballroom, he will face this man! Let’s welcome in Ricochet! The fans fire up as The One & Only makes his way to the ring. Schiavone congratulates Ricochet on his six points so far, and says he could advance to Orlando, Florida. But there has been perhaps a change in attitude and demeanor lately. Ricochet says, “But didn’t it look real good on me, though?” Schiavone says sure, but wait! Here comes the Hurt Business!
Ricochet is a little surprised, and maybe a little worried. Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin all go to the ring and fans sing along, “We Hurt People! We Hurt People!” Ricochet nervously asks what’s up, and MVP brings him in close. Ricochet says everyone looks great. They collectively look great! But honestly, he’s happy they’re here. He wants to ask them if they saw how he beat the brakes off of Komander. MVP says yeah, they saw that. Then did they see him handle Brody King? Yeah, they saw that. And Ricochet has six points! Ricochet figures after tonight, Shelton might have six points, and they could face each other in the near future.
Ricochet says they could keep this business on lock. Wow, you don’t say? Absolutely! Facts! Because the last two guys Ricochet has to face, they’re facing each other tonight, Ospreay and Darby. So Ricochet is going to watch that. And then Saturday, he has Ospreay. Ospreay will see that different side of Ricochet, you feeling him? MVP says yeah, he’s feeling it. Does Ricochet still have the business card? MVP wants to see it. Ricochet brings the card out, and Lashley grabs him by the neck! MVP takes the card, and he RIPS IT UP! MVP has revoked his invitation, and he says nobody likes a kiss ass. Lashley lets Ricochet go, straightens the suit out, and pats Ricochet on the back.
Ricochet leaves the ring, and he says they can talk about this later. MVP tells Shelton that he’s got business to handle, so go hurt somebody. MVP & Lashley fist bump with Shelton before Lashley heads out per Continental Classic rules. MVP joins commentary to watch this closely, will the Standard of Excellence be able to bring down The Beast Mortos?

The fans boo as The All Mighty beats up on Mortos, but MVP says Mortos could use a little more of what Shelton gave him during the match. Show ’em what we do! Shelton drags Mortos up, reels him back in, and GERMAN SUPLEXES! Mortos sputters and MVP tells Daniel Garcia, this is what you have to look forward to on Saturday! But wait! Garcia is here! Garcia has them cut the music so he can tell MVP, “I’m not stupid, I can do the math. There’s three of y’all and one of me.”
Garcia knows what’d happen if he came to the ring on his own. But he doesn’t care, because everyone in DC wants to see a fight tonight! Let’s get it! But wait, MARK BRISCOE is here! The Sussex County Chicken won’t let Garcia fight alone, so they brawl with Shelton and Lashley! But Lashley shoves Garcia back and CLOBBERS him! MVP CRACKS his cane on Briscoe’s back! MVP hands the TNT Championship to Shelton, they’re clearly planning things beyond the C2. Will Shelton snatch himself a golden ticket one way or another this Saturday?
Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee is now with The One & Only and asks about that interaction in the ring. It seems business with The Hurt Syndicate is off the table. Ricochet says honestly, he doesn’t know. They gave him the card, he thought he was doing what they wanted, but… Ricochet is a bit frazzled but he says that we’re not going to worry about that. The Syndicate can do what they do. But for Ricochet, he’ll worry about the Continental Classic. Like he said out there, “ya boy’s already got 6 points.” But on Saturday, he steps into the ring with one of the main reasons he even came to AEW, and that is Will Ospreay.
Ricochet says it is funny. He didn’t come to AEW just to step into the ring with Ospreay. He came here to shut the world up and prove he can beat Will Ospreay. And so, as he said, he is going to have his eyes glued to this next match, HAHA~~! But then he turns around and Swerve Strickland is there, as is Prince Nana sipping his coffee. Nana nods and Swerve says, “What up, turd?” Oh, cute, call him a turd. The fans are loudly chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve says when Ricochet first showed up, it was only a matter of time before the real Rico- No, the real Trevor showed himself.
Oh, going there, huh? Yeah. But Swerve says in the 14 years of knowing Ricochet, Swerve thought Ricochet had changed. But turns out, no, that’s still the same ol’ Trevor: a follower. Hate to tell you, Ricochet, but that won’t work here. Because AEW is whose house? Swerve’s House! Ricochet laughs that off and says he was wondering how long it’d take for him to hear that stuff. He’s glad Swerve brought that. But he also knows the real Swerve. And Swerve didn’t win the C2, now did he? So Ricochet knows it will eat Swerve up when Ricochet does. HAHA~! Ricochet leaves and Swerve says that’s why Ricochet’s still bald.
But win, lose or draw for Ricochet, will Swerve be waiting on the other side of Worlds End with the Killshot?
RJ City presents Toni Storm: Portrait of a Rockstar.
Toni Storm introduces herself to RJ, even though they’ve met… She’s so excited, look at all the lights and cameras. So cool. RJ asks Toni to explain where she’s been. “Relentless” is almost not enough to describe Darby Allin! This epic first-time-ever match also gives us quite the traffic jam in Gold League! FOUR men stand at 2-1 with 6 points, and we will see them all face off on Christmas Collision! Will Ospreay VS Ricochet, Darby Allin VS Claudio Castagnoli, who will be the two that come out ahead? But speaking of the Death Riders, here they come! They have their main event Six Man Tag, but the Swiss Cyborg is eyeing his next target. Will Darby stick it to the Death Riders when he makes sure Claudio does NOT make it to Worlds End?
Six Man Tag: The Death Riders VS Orange Cassidy, Jay White & Hangman Page!
AEW returns, and while Darby Allin was allowed to leave unscathed, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Pac will certainly deal plenty of damage to all three contenders. Will the Death Riders be riding high on the road to Orlando? Or will Freshly Squeezed, The Switchblade & The Blackhat Cowboy actually make a formidable trio?
The teams sort out and Hangman starts against Yuta. The bell rings but Hangman of course wants Moxley to man up and tag in. Yuta says no way, so Hangman tags Cassidy. The fans boo but then Moxley gives White a PILEDRIVER! Death Riders are in control as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Moxley drags White toa cover, TWO!! White barely gets his arm up, but Moxley drags him around. Moxley puts White in the corner, tags Pac, and the Death Riders mug White. Pac pulls White’s hair and Yuta CHOKES White, but Yuta lets off as the ref counts. Pac then digs his boots in while the ref’s busy! Marina taunts White with the briefcase that holds the title, but the ref finally notices the shenanigans. Pac lets off to argue with the ref, and Moxley gets a cheap shot in! Pac BLASTS Cassidy off the apron, too! White gets up, fights back with haymakers and CHOPS, but Yuta YANKS him down!
White sputters but Pac goes out to fetch him. Pac puts White in the ring, covers, TWO! Pac drags White up to cravat, and Moxley tags in so the Death Riders can mug White. Moxley ROCKS White, CLAWS White’s back, then CLAWS him again! Moxley brings White up to climb the corner. Moxley rains down fists, Claudio gets a cheap shot on Cassidy, and Moxley goes all the way to TEN! Moxley argues with the ref now, and Claudio gets a cheap shot on White! Moxley storms up on White while the Holiday Bash returns to single picture. Moxley drags White up, turns him, and hits a NECKBREAKER!
Tag to Yuta and Yuta drags White around, to then drop a KNEE! Yuta kneels on White’s neck, waits for the ref to count, and then steps off at 4. Yuta scuffs White, White rises up to CHOP! Yuta pulls White’s ear! The ref counts, the fans tell Yuta off, but Moxley gets another cheap shot in on Cassidy! But then White clinches to EXPLODER Yuta up and out to the floor! Claudio is disappointed but White sees he has no one! Yuta crawls into the ring while White shouts for Orange! Yuta tags Pac, and Pac runs up, but White dodges! White CHOPS Pac, and CHOPS, and CHOPS again! Pac kicks low, runs, but into a BACKDROP!
The fans fire up and its Guns Up for the DC Gold Members! White hauls Pac up but Pac fights the urenage! Pac elbows White away, runs up, but White puts him on the apron! But Pac slingshots in for a CUTTER! White sputters and Pac waits on him to stand. Pac SOBATS, KICKS, and SOBATS! Pac runs, but White avoids the boot! White LARIATS Pac inside-out! Pac staggers up, into the sleeper! CUTTHROAT PLEX! The fans fire up and White says BANG. White runs, Claudio steps in the way, but White still heads back for Pac. Pac dodges to SNAP GERMAN! Pac shakes out the stars while White flounders.
Pac crawls over, tag to Moxley. Cassidy rises, but he’s still so far away! Moxley drags White up, talks trash, but White slips around! CUTTHROAT PLEX! Moxley roars as he rises up, but White gets around again! DDT!! Moxley is dazed, White flounders over, hot tag to Cassidy! Cassidy goes up to DEEP IMPACT! The fans fire up and Cassidy “unleashes” those kicks! Then he actually kicks and stomps away on Moxley! Cassidy runs, but he ducks ‘n’ dodges first before he tilt-o-whirl DDTS! Moxley flounders, staggers, and Yuta gets in! Cassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges Yuta now, tilt-o-whirl- NO, Yuta stops that!
Yuta suplexes, STUN DOG- NO, Yuta stops that, too! Yuta GERMAN SUPLEXES Cassidy! White gets in, CUTTHROAT PLEX! Pac baits White into a corner and BOOTS him down! Pac goes up top, but Cassidy goes right after him! White gets outta the way before the SUPERPLEX! The fans are thunderous as Cassidy rises, but Moxley is in! The fans fire up as Hangman loads up! Hangman BOOTS Moxley, then Cassidy hits an ORANGE PUNCH!! Hangman is pissed as Cassidy hits his target! Pac grabs Hangman’s legs, but Hangman kicks him away! Yuta sends Cassidy into Hangman! Yuta suplexes, but into STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! Hangman slingshots, Cassidy dodges, BUCKSHOT hits Yuta!! And probably not on purpose… Pac returns, Hangman dodges, White gets Pac with BLADERUNNER!! White and Hangman argue about this, but Cassidy sighs. Moxley rolls Cassidy up! Holding the waistband!! DEATH RIDERS WIN!!
Winners: Death Riders, by pinfall
White and Hangman were so busy with each other, they didn’t save their teammate! Cassidy gets pissed with both of them, but now it doesn’t matter because Worlds End is every man for themselves. But wait, the Death Riders are flanking the ring, and Moxley has a chair! Cassidy, White & Hangman realize this, and now they stand back-to-back-to-back. They finally fight as a united front as they throw hands on the Death Riders! Cassidy DECKS Pac, White DECKS Claudio and Hangman DECKS Moxley! The Death Riders and their enemies brawl on the outside, but Marina makes sure Moxley gets outta there!
ORANGE PUNCH for Pac! Hangman and Yuta fire hands now and Hangman sends Yuta into railing! Hangman still wants to take out Moxley, but so do White and Cassidy. Will Worlds End be where Moxley’s reign of terror ends? Or will The Maniac AEW World Champion use all of his enemies against each other like he did tonight?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, a lot of action but also a lot of set-up for the following weeks. Great promo from FTR to give us a kayfabe reason for them to take time off for two weeks. Granted, everyone is getting time off next week because the Christmas episode is being recorded this weekend for that big Hammerstein Ballroom booking. But anyway, FTR and friends against Death Riders, that’ll be a lot of fun for Fight for the Fallen, can’t wait to see it. Great promo stuff from MJF and Adam Cole ahead of their Dynamite Diamond Ring match. I don’t usually cheer Heels but I could not help but laugh at the Photoshop’d extra skinny Adam Cole. Great use of prerecorded message from Cole, too. Their faceoff for Christmas Collision is probably the go-home segment and that could go either way.
Good promo from Hayter to call out Julia Hart, but I’m surprised their match won’t be on Worlds End. At the same time, I get it, Julia needs time to get that ring rust off before wrestling such a big match so a few more days to prepare is fine. Plus, if Hayter VS Hart is given proper time on Fight for the Fallen, that’ll really help that card and this feud. Very good vignette promo from Jericho to put himself over while also simultaneously putting down and putting over New York. As much as fans might want Cardona to win, I still feel Jericho is going to win so that he can take credit for ROH getting a cable TV deal.
Very good promo from Mariah May to call out Rosa and talk down on the Tijuana Street Fight. Depending on how AEW wants to play this, I could see Rosa winning since this is her match idea so that she and Toni Storm revisit their feud as if it were the first time. Because yes, they continue the genius idea that Toni Storm doesn’t remember anything of her AEW career. In essence, Toni seems to think she’s still that young indie wrestler who hadn’t even made it to WWE. This could be played as Toni just playing us all, or as Toni actually having another psychological break where she really thinks she’s old school Toni Storm, and it’s genius either way.
Great TBS Championship match from Mone, and of course she retained at Strong Style Evolved. Apparently Mone VS Hazuki was another great match from Mone, I wish I had the time to watch Strong Style Evolved. But Mone VS Kris for Worlds End followed by Mone VS Mina for WrestleDynasty, like, one of those has to give. Mone is still a great Heel, but she needs a comeuppance at some point, and the last big PPV of AEW 2024 and the first-ever WrestleDynasty are each proper stages for a big loss to happen. Then Mone can then focus on one company, and it’ll certainly be AEW over NJPW.
Very good tag match from Hook & Shibata VS The Patriarchy, but it works that The Patriarchy cheat this win. Hook VS Nick is going to happen in the Hammerstein Ballroom, though I think it’ll be for the Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street episode that’s being taped this weekend. Otherwise, they would’ve just told us it was for Christmas Collision and there we go. But either way, Hook losing here means he is of course winning against Nick Wayne, and then maybe, just maybe, Hook goes after Christian for Worlds End or even Fight for the Fallen.
Great stuff with Ricochet tonight, as he doubles down on being this cocky side of himself, only to get rejected by The Hurt Syndicate and called out by Swerve. That sets up a lot of stuff for Ricochet to do after Worlds End, even if he isn’t Continental Champion. Ricochet’s promo was also a great segue into the great C2 match of Shelton VS Mortos. Great win for Shelton, and then the beatdown on Mortos bringing out Garcia and Briscoe was good stuff. Garcia VS Shelton is going to be great, and I do like the tease of Shelton wanting the TNT Championship. 2025 is definitely going to be Hurt Syndicate climbing up the ranks and grabbing up belts, so I could see Shelton being the first guy to do that.
Good promos from Darby and Ospreay to help open the show, and then just an absolute instant classic for their match. Darby scared us all again with that horrifying crash landing on the apron, but somehow he’s still in one piece. Darby winning wasn’t so much a shocker, but it is surprising they’ve given us quite the log jam at 6 points. Christmas Collision is going to be great stuff just on the drama of who comes away with 9 points. Ospreay VS Ricochet and Darby VS Claudio, that is great timing given those are some hot rivalry matches. And Darby winning was a great segue for Death Riders to come out and go to their main event match.
Great promo from Cassidy, White & Hangman to help hype this match, and it went about how I expected. Hangman abandoning the team was good stuff, because he of course came back when we least expected it. But at the same time, with Death Riders having extra people, they of course snatched that win away. The Fatal 4 Way is going to be great, but we’ve still got time to figure out this go-home math. And even then, it’s a Fatal 4 AND Christian Cage could choose to cash in at some point, the formula for this go-home math is too complex. But that said, I actually feel like Christian Cage should cash in. Imagine Christian as world champion being the last moment of AEW 2024 and then Fight for the Fallen, New Year’s Day, Christian opens the show just to gloat.
My Score: 8.9/10
