Karmen Petrovic gets attacked Izzi Dame!!

Just as the real-life Beatrix Kiddo is arriving, the selfish volleyball ace knocks her into a car hood and beats her down! Did Izzi just take Karmen out of the gauntlet match? Will that mean someone new gets in on the golden opportunity? Or will it only make things easier for the other five?

Chase U is here!

And everyone, from the student section to the regular fans, are all fired up for the NEW NXT Tag Team Champions! Andre Chase stands with Ridge Holland, Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne & Thea Hail as the fans cheer them on. Chase thanks them for that, and says it is a new year at Chase University. new students, new classrooms, and NEW NXT Tag Team Champions! The fans cheer that, and Thea says to Mr. Chase & “Ridgy,” that she is so proud! They proved they really are red ‘n’ black through and through. Duke congratulates Ridge, and says from the rugby fields to Chase University, his passion and desire and intensity, it was just what Chase U needed to bring home the gold!

Riley says he did give Ridge some flack, but he’s made a believer out of him! And Ridge has his first title in NXT! Chase couldn’t agree more with all that. Without Ridge, Chase wouldn’t be a tag team champion. So on behalf of the entirety of Chase U, Chase says thank you to Ridge. They group hug! But wait, here come the former champs! Nathan Frazer says hey, hey, hey…! Congrats, really. Fair play. It was a tremendous win, and sorry to break up the party. but he and amigo Axiom have something to say. Axiom says that Chase U was the better team last week, but they’re not the best team every week.

Because that is #Fraxiom! They are THE best tag team in NXT! The fans are torn but Frazer says admittedly, they ran themselves into the ground. Rascalz, Speed on Twitter, then another tag title match right after. So Ridge picked the perfect time to challenge them! So this is the perfect time to- Ridge says hold on. Sorry to cut you off, and he appreciates the kind words. What he doesn’t appreciate is them interrupting Chase U’s moment. Chase U, the little engine that could, the underdogs that never give up. That is what Chase U taught him. Ridge came to NXT to find himself, and the more he looked, the more he was lost.

Ridge couldn’t take the pressure, the whispers, and everyone turned their backs on him. But Chase U stood by his side! Mr. Chase said take it one day at a time. Thea rebuilt Ridge’s confidence. And Ridge saw that he could mix it up with the best in NXT! Duke & Riley showed Ridge that his heart was pure and that he cared about the school they represent every day on their chests. Ridge busted his arse for six YEARS to become a champion, and last week, he did it! But last week was bigger than Ridge. It was about gold for Chase U! Ridge begged, pleaded, cashed in all his favors, and the mission statement is: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

The fans cheer, but Axiom says that’s all lovely. They still want a rematch. Riley says if they want that, they need to go through the heart of Chase U. Duke says if #Fraxiom can beat the MVP and the Daredevil, then maybe, just maybe, they get their rematch at No Mercy. Frazer and Axiom nod, and CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! See you later tonight. Oh but hold on! That’s the thing about Chase U: they’re always ready! TEARAWAY PANTS?! Duke & Riley are ready NOW, will they check off #Fraxiom from the contender’s list already? Or will things #NeverSlowDown in NXT?

Stevie Turner talks with Robert Stone backstage.

They are discussing the attack by Izzi earlier, and Ava steps in. Doc says Karmen is OUT of the Gauntlet Eliminator. Stevie asks if they should replace her, but Stone has an idea. Stevie has one, too! How does she have an idea after just asking Ava what to do? But before that, Izzi asks if Karmen really is out. Aw, well, it iz what it iz. Time to fix the mistake they made by putting the woman who should’ve been in that match all along, aka Izzi Dame. Ava says yeah, no. Izzi is not getting rewarded for bad behavior. Karmen will be replaced by another deserving superstar, Brinley Reece. Izzi storms off, learning that no crime goes unpunished.

Stevie wants to go tell Brin the good news but Stone’s already halfway there! Ava frowns, but we also see Kelani Jordan looking around upset. Just what is she looking for? Will she find it before the night’s over?

Kendal Grey & Carlee Bright talk backstage.

Kendal is so ready for this big opportunity, and then they’re excited to hear Brin is in it, too! Brin explains how Izzi attacked Karmen, took her out, and that is awful for Karmen, but you gotta take every opportunity that comes your way, right? Brin and Kendal fist bump, and Kendal promises to give everything she’s got. Only one can win, and Kendal wants that shot at Roxie. Wren Sinclair shoots in, humble bragging about working on her grapple game with the boys. And since “Charles” won their Heritage Cup back, Wren’s totally winning the gauntlet to bring even more gold to the #WrenQCC. Wait, the what?

Well, confidence is running high tonight, but who wins the biggest opportunity in their young careers?

Backstage interview with Wes Lee.

Kelly Kincaid is with the Cardiac Kid and notes he wanted to move on to bigger and better things. Is there anything bigger than this Triple Threat tonight? Wes says no, not really. Pete Dunne, chef’s kiss, brilliant technician. But that won’t matter because Wes sends Dunne back to Raw more bitter than before. And then there’s Joe Hendry. A social media sensation who’s only here for the NXT Rub to boost his followers. All good, though, because he’s going back to Thursdays emptyhanded, where he can wave his hands side to side with the rest of the clowns over there. This is Wes’s time in NXT, HE will be the one seeing Ethan Page at No Mercy.

Kelly thanks Wes for his time, and now throws things over to Sarah Schreiber, who is standing by with Joe Hendry. Say his name and he appears… And Hendry hopes Wes can hear this interview. Sarah confirms yes, everyone can. Hendry wants to thank Wes for the extra motivation tonight, calling all of TNA “clowns.” Hendry’s gotten to know Zachary Wentz & Trey Miguel, so what Wes did to them was disgusting! Especially when they came back to lift Wes up when he was at his lowest! Wes tells Hendry to stop there. The pinnacle of Hendry’s career won’t even be the bottom of Wes’s. See you later tonight!

Wes heads out but Hendry says we’ll just see about that. Tonight is the biggest match of Hendry’s life! Two months ago, no one in their wildest dreams could’ve thought it was possible for Hendry to challenge for THE NXT Championship. And now, all that stands between Hendry and that match are two world-class athletes. This ten year odyssey that is Hendry’s career has been all about chasing dreams, making believers out of the world, but tonight, he makes a believer in himself when he becomes #1 contender! Will Wes and Dunne have no choice but to believe in Joe Hendry? Or will they show him no mercy to have their own moment?

NXT hears from this new toxic element.

Fallon Henley says, “Imagine dreaming your entire life of becoming a WWE superstar, finding a dusty, dirty wrestling school to learn to craft and train, go on the independent scene and borrow your parent’s car to go 400 miles to wrestle in front of 40 people for $40, dedicating your entire life for the slight chance that you just might make it to the WWE.” Jacy Jayne adds, “And then you finally make it. You strive to win championships, compete on Premium Live Events, and then you come back to a locker room full of D1, 2, 3 athletes, and the only reason that they’re even in NXT is not because of their love for the business, but because they have a big social media following.”

Fallon asks, “And they think we should respect them?” They don’t care if you’re a national champion, an Olympian, where is the respect for the veterans!? Fallon & Jacy are the real leaders of this division, and only one woman listens to them. Jazmyn Nyx says she came in with these NILs, and she realized these two very decorated women are the real influencers. That makes Jazmyn the smartest woman here. But what people don’t know is that Jacy and Fallon came up in this business together. They were on any show they could get booked while those athletes were just handed tryout spots!

Fallon & Jacy have done great individually, so just imagine what they can do together, with Jazmyn by their side? Now, they’ll make everyone look up to them. They are the example, they are the leaders, and they are the… Fatal Influence.

A match like this is already hard to prepare for because anyone can be sent out and things can get very chaotic. And on top of that, Izzi took out Karmen so preparations for her went out the window. Backstage interview with Ethan Page.

Kelly Kincaid is with All Ego and asks if he believes- No no no no, we are not going to entertain a single thought about that man, because Ethan is insulted that someone who is not even ON the NXT roster believes that they deserve a shot at Ethan’s NXT Championship. What is best for this brand is All Ego still NXT Champion. Pete Dunne walks in and says that’s funny coming from “a geezer” who has only been here a few months. Ethan says he is still champion, and that is still on Dunne’s to-do list. That’s because every NXT Champion has been afraid of Dunne. And Dunne looks in Ethan’s eyes, and he sees no different.

Dunne was NXT UK Champion for 685 DAYS, and when he gets a title on his shoulder, it tends to stay there. Well, first, he has to make it to No Mercy. Dunne says when he makes it, Dunne will break Ethan’s fingers, then he breaks Ethan’s ego. Will The Bruiserweight be the one to #FigureItOut in tonight’s main event?

Will Hank ‘n’ Tank start storming up the ranks until they’re NXT Tag Team Champions?

NXT Media catches up with Shawn Spears.

The reporter asks The Chair Man about his mentoring of Brooks Jensen. Spears stops the guy right there. Jensen spoke from the heart. There was no pressuring him into doing anything. Jensen was- Edris Enofe & Malik Blade step in to say no you don’t! Jensen was in a vulnerable state, and Spears swooped in like a vulture to poison his mind! Jensen may not see it, but they do. Well this is what Spears sees: two more men lost here in NXT, which is a real shame. Talent and talent put together, both very gifted, and yet… It wasn’t Spears that approached them, was it? The No Quarter Catch Crew is in the ring.

Wren stands alongside Myles Borne and the NEW Heritage Cup Champion, Charlie Dempsey, as Charlie quotes Lou Thesz. “The only gimmick he ever had to wrestle was wrestling itself. Billy Robinson said that wrestling is life. This Heritage Cup is the oxygen that the NQCC needs to live. Now it’s been three long grueling months, but order has finally been restored to this great-” Wren jumps in to say, “The Cup has finally returned home! Now, I don’t know who Lou Robinson or Billy Thesz is, but if Charles says they’re great people, I believe him.” Charlie asks why Wren interrupted. She apologizes, she’s just upset she lost the eliminator. Please, continue.

Charlie says anyway, as he was saying… Wait, where was he? Oh, right! “The D’Angelo Family’s reign of terror is finally over! And the NQCC is going to take this Heritage Cup, we’re going to make it the most prestigious, the most coveted title in ALL of NXT!” The fans applaud, and Charlie says- Wren says that Charles will defend THEIR Heritage Cup against anyone who is brave enough to face him. Any man, any time! And Charles doesn’t care who it is, it- OBA FEMI!? Wren apologizes again. The Ruler tells “Mr. Dempsey, congratulations on reclaiming your Heritage Cup.

“But I just want you and your group to now, that when it comes to prestige, the most prestigious title on THIS brand… is the North American Championship! And it is held by the most dominant champion that NXT has ever seen! THE RULER, Oba Femi!” And he has defended his title against so many strong contenders, former champions and main roster stars, he will not hesitate to add a Heritage Cup champion to the list. But speaking of, here comes the former Heritage Cup Champion, Tony D’Angelo! Charlie says sorry, but Tony’s gone and interrupted him again. And Charlie was totally expecting this appearance.

Surely The Don wants to rematch Charlie for the Cup, right? No, Mini-Don, because Tony now has his eyes on something else. Tony stares Oba down! Tony does not forget, and neither does The Family. They’ll handle business. Tony snaps his fingers, and now Stacks, Luca & Rizzo brawl with Charlie, Myles & Wren! The fans fire up as that all spills out of the ring, leaving Tony and Oba to stare down. Then Oba kicks first! And he reels Tony in, but Ton slips free! Tony SPINEBUSTERS Oba?!? The fans go nuts as The Don stands over The Ruler, and he holds up the North American Championship!

The fans are torn, but are we about to see Tony become The Don of North America? Or is Oba about to add this former champion to his list?

Ashante THEE Adonis walks ‘n’ talks with some ladies.

He would love to handle that “bookworm” Dion Lennox in the ring. The ladies say yeah, Dion is fine~! Hey, not as fine as him! But then look, there’s Dion! Alright, fine, we’ll see who’s fine after this match! Ashante heads out, and the ladies tell Dion they’re so excited to see his match. Dion thanks them. He is pretty nervous but also excited. Wish him luck? They all wish him luck, and Dion heads out. Je’Von Evans sees that and says wow, D! Who knew he had game? Wren stumbles in with the Heritage Cup, and asks Je’Von to watch it for her while she gets water. Je’Von says that’s a bit of a responsibility, but okay.

Then Gallus walks in and asks what’s going on here. No, you saw Wren- Joe Coffey brings up Mark Coffey once having that. Mark says yeah, his name’s right here on the side. Yeah, that’s cool. Mark says this Cup represents proper wrestling. Yeah, what’re they trying to say? Just that it’s a style Je’Von knows nothing about. Not this flipping and bouncing stuff he does. But if Je’Von takes ’em out for a pint, maybe Gallus will teach him how to be a “real wrestler.” Bruh, Je’Von’s only 20 years old, he can’t go to a bar. And then in steps Cedric Alexander. Ease up on the kid, okay? Aw, does Je’Von need Daddy Cedric to fight his battles?

Whoa, now, first off, it’s “Uncle Ceddy.” Second, Je’Von can fight his own battles, okay? Joe says we’ll see about that. Gallus heads out and a lot sure happened in just a few minutes. But will Ashante be able to show up the humble Dion? Will Gallus be sure their style is on top? Or will they see just how bouncy the Young OG can get?

Ashante THEE Adonis VS Dion Lennox!

While Ashante tries to get the ladies to pay attention to him, the ladies are ironically paying attention to Dion because he’s not trying. Will Dion also win this match just as effortlessly? Or will Ashante Adonisly get the attention he craves with a win?

The bell rings and Ashante runs up to fire hands! Ashante fires off in a corner, keeps Dion from getting away, then he fires body shots and stomps away! The ref counts, Ashante lets off, and he argues with the ref. Dion then TOSSES Ashante! The fans fire up, and Dion DROPKICKS Ashante! Dion fires off hands, ROCKS Ashante, then ROCKS him again! Dion whips, ELBOWS and then scoops Ashante for a SLAM! Dion storms around, then runs up to LARIAT in a corner! Dion then hits an EXPLODER, and Ashante tumbles away. Dion sees Ashante bail out, so he goes out after him. Ashante drop toeholds Dion then gest in the ring.

Ashante BOOTS Dion from the apron, then goes up and up to SUPER SKY TWISTER! Down goes Dion and Ashante hurries to put him back in the ring. The fans rally but Ashante covers, TWO! Dion is still in this but Ashante drags him up by an ear. Ashante says he’s the one they want, not Dion! Ashante SLAPS Dion! Dion just gets mad! Ashante shoves Dion around, but then Dion ROCKS Ashante again and again! Dion ducks ‘n’ dodges to DECK Ashante! And DECKS him again! Dion whips Ashante, but Ashante holds ropes to KICK back! Ashante storms up but Dion SLAPS him! Dion then SPINEBUSTERS and covers, TWO!!

Ashante survives but Dion snarls. Dion storms around, tells Ashante to get up, and the fans fire up! Ashante flounders, Dion brings him up for a suplex, and a stall! But Ashante CLAWS Dion’s eyes! Dion BOOTS back, goes up, but Ashante YANKS him down! Dion hotshots off ropes, and Ashante takes aim! Ashante tunes up, for some LONG KISS GOODNIGHT!! Cover, Ashante wins!

Winner: Ashante THEE Adonis, by pinfall

Dion was like Bruce Banner turning into The Hulk, but Ashante blinded him and took him down! Will there be no denying Adonis now?

Lexis King has someone shine his throne.

The Drama King is particular about the details. It has to be gleaming! Meta Four pass by and both Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson say Fallon & Jacy just had to mouth off again. Yes, they’re athletes from outside wrestling. Yes, Lash was WNBA, and yes, Jakara was in world games. But guess what? They made the jump and are doing their thing. Fallon & Jacy are bitter. Don’t get bitter, get better! And Jazmyn is just along for the ride. But next week, they’ll do the thing in the ring and whoop on those little girls! Lexis says ladies, ladies! The King guarantees Meta Four will show… What was it again? Fatal Influence? Okay, pretty cool name, actually.

BUT, all that matters is that The Meta Two go- SKIRRR~! What was that? Meta Two? Well, he sees one two here. Noam Dar is on the injured list, and Oro Mensah lost the biggest match of his career! They don’t want that baggage holding them down, okaaay? SKIRRR~! Oh no he didn’t. King heads out, and Oro walks in. What was that? Don’t even worry. But Oro says he fought so hard, but he couldn’t get the job done. Things haven’t been the same since Noam went down. Jakara says that’s okay, because Meta is betta. That’s true. Then will the Bougie Bully & Miss Jackson humble the toxic twosome?

NXT Championship #1 Contender’s Triple Threat: Pete Dunne VS Wes Lee VS Joe Hendry!

Each man has said their piece tonight, so now it is time to back it all up! Will the Bruiserweight #FigureItOut and have his match with All Ego? Will the Cardiac Kid show that he still has the heart of a champion? Or will we all soon believe in The Prestigious Joe Hendry?

NXT returns as Ethan Page is on commentary. Dunne makes his entrance, then of course, “Say his name and he appears…!” Joe Hendry makes his entrance. Hendry poses in the ring, but Dunne and Wes CLOBBER him from behind! Ethan loves that! Wes wants a fist bump, but Dunne just fires hands! Wes hits back, the bell rings, and Hendry stands. Dunne CHOPS Wes, then runs up on Hendry, but Hendry DUMPS Dunne out! Hendry KNEES Wes down, then runs in at a corner. Wes BOOTS Hendry, goes up, and CROSSBODIES, but Hendry catches him! Hendry pops Wes up, to then TOSS him down!

The fans fire up as Dunne returns, and Hendry dodges to KNEE! Hendry suplexes, and he holds Dunne up! Then the SLAM! The fans cheer and Hendry stands tall, but Wes fires body shots and fast hands! Wes kicks, snapmares, and basement DROPKICKS Hendry in the back! The fans are torn but Dunne CLOBBERS Wes! Dunne basement DROPKICKS Hendry, then drags him up. Dunne wrangles Hendry by an arm to STOMP the hand! The fans boo Dunne and rally for Hendry. Dunne brings Hendry up, CHOPS him, but Hendry CHOPS back! Dunne CHOPs, Hendry CHOPS, repeat! Dunne CLAWS Hendry’s face!

Dunne stomps Hendry in a corner, then turns around, into a kick from Wes! Wes fires forearms, but Dunne CHOPS! Dunne ROCKS Wes, Wes flounders away, but Dunne stands him up. Dunne fireman’s carries but Wes fights around to sunset flip! Dunne stays up, so Hendry has Wes’s legs! CATAPULT into Dunne’s Big Ben! The fans fire up and Hendry smiles, and Ethan isn’t sure who got the worst of that. Hendry hauls Wes up to back suplex but Wes lands out! Wes ducks ‘n’ dodges to ROLLING KICK! Hendry falls, Wes DIVES but Dunne dodges! Dunne goes up, Wes avoids the moonsault and SUPERKICKS!

Wes brings Dunne up to fire hands, but Hendry runs in to PLANCHA! Down goes both Dunne & Wes, and Hendry poses for the camera! The fans rally with “WE BELIEVE!” as NXT goes picture in picture.

Hendry feeds off the energy and brings Dunne up and into the ring. Hendry stomps Wes for good measure before going in the ring. Hendry UPPERCUTS Dunne, bumps him off buckles, then UPPERCUTS again. Hendry stalks Dunne, brings him around to UPPERCUT again, but Dunne CHOPS! Dunne waistlocks but Hendry switches. They go to ropes, Wes RAMS them both! Wes slingshots up and over, SUNSET FLIP GERMAN SUPLEX COMBO! Cover on Hendry, TWO! Wes is frustrated but he has his pick. Wes goes for Dunne, and he punches away on the legs! Wes rains down hands, then runs to PENALTY KICK!

Wes soaks up the cheers and cheers, to STANDING MOONSAULT, but into a TRIANGLE HOLD! Dunne has Wes caught but Hendry stomps Dunne! Hendry puts Dunne in a corner, then goes back for Wes. Hendry wrenches and whips Wes to another corner. Wes flumps down, Dunne stands to CHOP Hendry! And CHOP, and CHOP, and CHOP! Hendry CHOPS back! Dunne DECKS Hendry! Dunne storms over to Wes and TOSSES him out of the ring! Dunne then goes after Hendry with kicks and jabs. NXT returns to single picture as Dunne wristlocks Hendry while firing mocking kicks. Dunne talks smack but the fans chant “WE BELIEVE!”

Hendry fires up and he ROCKS Dunne again and again! Dunne staggers but comes back, into a LARIAT! And LARIAT! Wes returns, Hendry dodges to DOUBLE LARIAT! The fans fire up and Hendry scoops Dunne for a FALL AWAY SLAM! Hendry kips up, then scoops Wes, for a FALL AWAY SLAM! Hendry kips up again, then he scoops Dunne again! And then he adds Wes!? Hendry shows his secret strength as he DOUBLE FALL AWAY SLAMS! The fans are thunderous for Hendry as he stands tall again! Hendry gets the fans to stomp stomp clap, and then he choke grips Dunne. He also choke grips Wes, but Dunne ROCKS Hendry!

Wes SUPERKICKS Dunne! Hendry CHOPS Wes! Hendry blocks Dunne’s kick then ducks, the ENZIGIRI hits Wes! Hendry choke grips Dunne, but Dunne JUMP KNEES free! Dunne ROCKS Hendry, Wes DOUBLE QUEBRADAS! All three men are down and the fans love “NXT! NXT!” for making this match! Dunne BUZZSAWS Wes, then goes for Hendry’s arm! FUJIWARA ARMBAR!! Dunne bends the fingers! Wes runs up, Dunne wrangles him onto Hendry, DOUBLE FUJIWARAS!! Dunne bends all the fingers! Wes rolls free, but Dunne reels him back in! X-PLEX onto Hendry! Cover on Hendry, TWO!!

Dunne is frustrated, but he watches Wes crawl to ropes. Dunne reels Wes in, GERMAN SUPLEX, but WEs lands out! Wes dodges Dunne to DIVE onto Hendry! Wes keeps going, he BOOTS Dunne, SUPERKICKS, then goes up and up to ENZIGIRI! Then Wes goes up, QUEBRADA TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! “This is Awesome!” and even Ethan is enjoying this. Wes goes to a corner, climbs up, but Dunne trips him up! Dunne goes out to climb up, and he has Wes out to dry. But Hendry runs up to UPPERCUT Dunne! Wes flops down while Hendry climbs up, and Hendry scoops Dunne! But Wes CHOP BLOCKS Hendry, the Fall Away Slam is more a drop!

Wes goes up and up, and he FROG SPLASHES Hendry! Cover, TWO!! Hendry survives and Wes seethes. Dunne bails out and the fans rally, “WE BELIEVE! WE BELIEVE!” Wes runs, handsprings, but Dunne trips him! Dunne pulls the arm, and SNAPS the fingers!! Wes writhes, Hendry choke grips Dunne! HENDRY CHOKE SLAM!! Cover, but ETHAN yanks the ref out!! The fans boo but All Ego just shrugs. Hendry runs Ethan off, but Wes runs up! Hendry blocks the kick to trip and SPIKE Wes! The fans tell All Ego he’s all something else, but Hendry choke grips Wes! CHOKE SLAM on the desk!!

Hendry is prestigious, but he also has a righteous fury inside! He storms into the ring, dodges Dunne’s kick, and CHOKE SLAMS again!! Cover, but Ethan blocks the new ref from getting in! Hendry is pissed, but Dunne LOW BLOWS! And then pump handle, BITTER END!!! But Ethan doesn’t realize it, he could let the ref go! But then TRICK SHOT from Trick Williams!! He won’t let bitter Pete get his moment! Trick puts the first ref in, Hendry covers, AND HENDRY WINS!!

Winner: Joe Hendry, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contender to the NXT Championship)

Ethan is in disbelief, because even with his interference, “the outsider” wins! Joe Hendry is going to be representing TNA on an NXT event, in a main event match for THE NXT Championship!! And wait! ZACHARY WENTZ is here, and he CLOBBERS Wes Lee!! Wes’s betrayal is not going unpunished! Zach TACKLES Wes in the ring, security rushes in here, but fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Will Zach give Wes that No Mercy grudge match he was talking about? Or will these two look to make an impact on a TNA stage?

My Thoughts:

An awesome NXT here with a lot of great stuff heading into No Mercy, as well as set up for the next couple weeks. I was a little surprised Izzi attacked Karmen, but hey, NXT parking lot is the most dangerous place in wrestling, it was bound to happen. But I appreciate Ava defied the cliche trope by NOT putting Izzi in Karmen’s place. Izzi VS Karmen is definitely happening on the side, and I like that it was Brinley put in the gauntlet. Awesome Gauntlet Eliminator match all the same, Kendal really got to show some stuff even though it was clear she wasn’t winning. It fittingly came down to Jaida and Sol, and fans love both, but they really love Jaida. Roxie VS Jaida is going to be great stuff, but I feel like Roxie finds a way to win, even if she has to cheat it.

Great stuff with Chase U, though a little surprising Frazer & Axiom rained on the parade so quickly. Great tag match of Frazer & Axiom VS Duke & Riley, and of course Frazer & Axiom were going to win that match, I’m just surprised they went and gave them the tag title rematch. But now that they have, I cannot be sure who wins. Frazer & Axiom can’t just get these belts right back, can they? I mean, unless Ridge tries to cheat to hold onto the belt, I don’t see why Chase U would be transitional champions for the guys they just beat. If Ridge was going to turn on Chase U, why not just do that last week? But I suppose this at least pads Ridge’s stats so he finally has a title reign.

Great match from Lola and Wendy, and Kelani getting involved was a good way to have Lola lose while protecting her. Very clever use of the “Easter egg in the background” promo style to also set up the title belt being in the pillow. Kelani VS Wendy will be great stuff, too, and honestly, hard to say who wins that. Wendy’s always been solid, but Kelani is building her reign, so I’m 60-40 in favor of Kelani. Good promo from NQCC, Oba and The D’Angelo Family, and I like that Wren was “unaware” of who Lou Thesz and Billy Robinson were. And I also liked that Charlie just assumed Tony wanted the Cup back. But no, Tony VS Oba for the North American Championship is happening while we also set up a Mixed Six on the side.

Tony stands tall here, so depending on what happens next week on the go-home, I would think, nay I would hope, Oba beats Tony to retain. No offense to Tony, but Oba Femi is HUGE. It felt a bit much for Tony to even hit that spinebuster. Now, on the flipside, Hank ‘n’ Tank beating The Good Brothers is an amazing upset, I did not think that’d happen. And I loved them keeping the continuity that Hank being a former security guard, the security guards were totally on their side after. Depending on how the tag title match for No Mercy goes, I’d love to see Hank ‘n’ Tank get in on the title scene.

We got a really good string of segues from promo. The ladies are going for Dion because he isn’t trying to just score with them, and Dion has a great showing against Ashante even in losing. Wren leaving the Cup with Je’Von, and then Gallus getting attitude with him just because, that definitely sets up a tag match with Je’Von and Cedric, and maybe Gallus finds a roundabout way back to the Heritage Cup Division because of it. Great promo from Spears, Malik and Edris, and how surprising that Malik & Edris went so hard on Spears. But yes, this is playing into Spears’ plan, because now Jensen will hold this against Malik & Edris, and we’ll get a very good tag match out of them.

Good promo from the now Fatal Influence, as well as a response from Meta Four. As team names go, Fatal Influence is an odd phrase in and of itself. But when you consider there’s a sort of flipside from “Toxic Attraction,” it’s clever. Usually you hear “fatal attraction” and something akin to “toxic influence,” so they kinda traded words. But as I said last week, pretty sure it’ll be thanks to Jazmyn that Fatal Influence wins next week, motivating Meta Four to get a friend. And per Lexis King’s part of the promo, maybe the group dynamic does change while Noam is recovering. At the very least, they’ll have a loose alliance with someone who also dislikes Fatal Influence that also counts as an NIL athlete recruit. Fatal Influence’s vignette did give us a glimpse of some possibilities…

And great stuff going into the Triple Threat tonight. Everyone had a good promo to hype things up, and Ethan getting involved was a natural move given his Heelish ways. But then it all backfiring because Trick gets his shot in on Dunne was great stuff. As I figured last week, Hendry wins because Trick and Dunne have their grudge match, then Zach showing up to go after Wes, that’s great set up for their grudge match, and even without those stories, how is Hendry not going to be the one challenging Ethan? Hendry is super popular, it feeds Ethan’s hypocritical “No outsiders!” attitude, and it’ll be a great match. Now, I would say Ethan retains because depending on how Trick’s story goes, maybe Trick gets a rematch around the time NXT moves to CW.

My Score: 8.9/10

Andrew’s TNA Genesis Results & Match Ratings: 1.19.25

Does TNA Believe in Joe Hendry more than Mokuba Nemeth believes in his big brother?

Published

on

Hot off the heels of the TNA and WWE working relationship announcement, the Kickoff show already has the first sprinkle of NXT talent with Ashante “Thee” Adonis coming out after Ariana Grace tries to take all of the credit for the partnership. Jake something runs over Ashante, but it’s a good quick nod on free YouTube. Oh it also looks like the ring announcer is McKenzie Mitchel again. I did like her first run in TNA in what was that… like 2016-2018 or 19? She’s got personality, she’s cute and a solid announcer, so nice to see her back.

I’m not gonna run down any predictions on who I think will win, because honestly, I just feel like Hendry needs to win today or it’s been an entire waste of momentum. So lets get to the main show!

Ratings:

  • X Division Championship: Moose (c) vs Ace Austin: Moose retains via Lights Out – *** 1/4
  • The System vs Maniac Marines: Marines win via K.I.A. – ***
  • Knockouts Tag Titles: Elegance Clique (Heather & Ash) w/Personal Concierge vs Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) (c): Spitfire retain via Pressure Drop – **

Results:

X Division Championship: Moose (c) vs Ace Austin

As soon as the bell rings, Ace jumps on him, forces him into the corner and stomps on him. Moose tries to fight out but Ace stays relentless. Ace has a counter for everything Moose is trying to counter in the early goings. Even when Moose catches him during the apron Handstand Dodge, Ace still has a counter for his counter. It’s not until a rake to the eyes from Moose that finally gives him a moment to start dictating the pace. A huge Irish Whip on the outside through the barricade is what Ace feels…twice. Ace tries to fight back from Moose continuing the momentum, Ace eats a Pump Kick, but blocks Moose’s attempt at a Suplex and counters with his own Vertical Suplex on Moose! JDC gets in the proximity of Ace so Ace kicks him, which delays his springboard, so Moose catches him and bounces him off the apron like a super ball.

Moose lets the count go, Ace barely gets in at 9, Moose throws him corner to corner, is slowing things down and being very deliberate. Ace starts powering through the pain, catches a Pump Kick, dodges a Spear into the corner and puts together a few strikes, Double Stomp, Triangle Kick, wants The Fold but Moose puts the brakes on there. Ace tries to spring off the ropes but Moose grabs him and hits Go To Hell for two! Fighting Spirit spot, Ace starts winning the trade, a Headbutt from Moose stops Ace, Moose flips him over the ropes to the apron, tries a few more things, Ace looks for a Springboard, Moose catches him but Ace slips it for a Frankensteiner. Moose powders to the opposite apron and Ace hits his Inside Out Headscissors sending Moose crashing to the floor. Alisha and JDC try to help up Moose, and while the referee is distracted JDC posts Ace. Moose goes for the Around the World Lights Out, but Ace moves and Moose kills JDC! Ace hits The Fold on the floor!

Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers run down the ramp, Ace sees them so he hits the Fosbury Flop to take them out. Ace is rolling, he goes for the Triangle Kick but Moose counters with Lights Out! 1-2- KICK OUT? Moose sets up for another Lights Out, Ace sidesteps it for the Cradle, kickout, Uranage, Cradle counter, Art of Finesse from Ace but Lights Out to the Spine from Moose! Moose sets up another and lands the Lights Out to retain!

Post Match the System looks to beat down on Ace, but Maniac Marines music hits and they go after Myers and Edwards. Guess the match is now!

The System vs Maniac Marines

Steve and Eric beat the hell out of the System members while the referee tries to set the match, it still hasn’t started but we get stereo 10 count punches in the corner, big fists causing Myers and Edwards to powder. This is essentially a Tornado Tag right now because the match hasn’t even started. Okay it eventually starts and Maclin hits the Backbreaker on Edwards and Busaiku Knee on Myers. He looks for a SCUD but Lish grabs the foot which is just enough! Maclin tries to charge anyway but gets caught in the Blue Thunder Bomb and now the match slows down and Eddie is in control.

Maclin absorbs some Chops from Eddie in the corner, no sells a little and fires, Eddie tags out Myers tries to slow things down with a Russian Leg Sweep but Maclin continues to try and rally. Eddie’s back in, shortarm Gowan Lariat into a cocky cover for two. Eddie tries to keep moving but Maclin hits the Vertical Suplex. Maclin is too slow to tag out so Eddie tags out and Myers cuts off Maclin. After a few more quick tags from System members, Maclin finally lands a Lariat to get the simultaneous tag and EY comes in hot. EY does the Flair corner flip, knocks Eddie off the apron, Myers eats a Macho Elbow but only two. Eddie knocks Maclin off the apron, Tandem Tiger Driver for two, EY fights back to level Eddie, Tree of Woe Myers Caught in Crosshairs but Lish gets in the ring! Eddie grabs Eric and distracts the ref, Lish clocks Maclin with either knuckles or a full hand of rings, Spear from Myers is only a two!

System Overload attempt, it’s thwarted by EY, Myers gets crotched in like a Reverse Tree of Woe, so Maclin hits the Caught in the Crosshairs on the back, EY with a Plancha to the outside to take Edwards out and K.I.A. from Maclin means Maniac Marines win!

Knockouts Tag Titles: Elegance Clique (Heather & Ash) w/Personal Concierge vs Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) (c)

Elegance duo comes out dressed like Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. They do a Go Eagles chant right before the bell rings to a chorus of Boos.

Even though Elegance Clique throws their pompoms and try a cheap shot, Spitfire just plow through them, literally. Quick tags, some assisted moves, Ash gets away from Spitfire, tags in Heather and shoves her forward trying to take them off guard, but they turn around…grab Heather and a long Tandem Stalling Suplex with a Deep Squat for two. Concierge distracts the referee, looks for a low Dive onto Heather but Ash just kicks Dani in the face, and the referee sees nothing. Heather rolls her back in, Kawada Kicks, Forearm Shiver, trip into a Dropkick to the face! Ash hangs Dani off the apron and Heather hits the Double Stomp from the apron to the floor.

Ash starts choking Dani on the ropes, distracts the referee and Heather paintbrushes Dani with pompoms as Ash goes for a series of pinfall attempts. Quick tags, Dani is in their corner, Cartwheel Back Handspring Elbow from Ash into a Seated Dropkick from Heather. Dani has been getting smacked around for the last 4 or 5 minutes. Ash leans on Dani for a while, but Dani gets a head of steam, comes off the ropes and Shotgun Dropkick gives her space. Jody gets a hot tag, she Sack of Shits them both, Vader Hammers in the corner into a Michinoku Driver, which Ash breaks up with a Meteora. Heather and Ash have a nice tandem move for a two count. Jody tries to fight back, but Elegance stops it, blind tag from Dani, Senton takes out both Elegance Clique members and Dani stalks her prey. Snap Suplex two times on Ash, but Heather stops the third and Jody just tosses Heather out of the ring in a rough way. Jody tries her Double Knees German Suplex spot but Ash moves. Dani with the Shinsuke Nakamura Inside Out German, Pressure Drop and Spitfire retains.

Boo…

Jordynne Grace vs Tessa Blanchard

Grace charges Tessa immediately, and the ref needs to pull her off, but Tessa gets thrown around the ring literally, the crowd is chanting “Fuck You Tessa”, Tessa powders, eats a Dive and then a Jackhammer on the outside! Grace puts Tessa on her shoulders up to the ring, but Tessa finally fights off and flips off the crowd, revels in it for a second, tries the Frankensteiner, but Grace holds on, smashes Tessa into the guardrail twice, looks for the Reverse Bomb on the apron, but Tessa gets out, stomps on Jordynne a few times, hooks Jordynne’s face with the crook of her leg and drives Jordynne’s face into the apron. Unique looking and decent.

Tessa has the correct intensity, pushes into two quick pinfall attempts and starts getting deliberate. Drags Jordynne’s face across the rope, throats Grace, kicks her in the face and Slingshot Elbow is another near fall. Tessa with the Front Facelock, Grace tries to fight out but Tessa holds on and drops her with a Scorpion Death Drop for another near fall. Jordynne fights Tessa off with a few elbows, looks for a Superplex, but Tessa fights off, wants the Avalanche Sunset Bomb, but Jordynne stops it, Tessa kicks Grace’s feet, looks for a Rope Hung Death Drop but Jordynne fights it off and smashes Tessa’s face into the turnbuckles but Tessa hits the Rope Hung Backstabber for two. Tessa looks for Magnum, but Jordynne cuts her off, they fight at the top, Avalanche Sack of Shit! They both sell the exhaustion of the match so far.

They trade blows, two Scoop Slams from Jordynne, Lawn Dart into the Top Turnbuckle! Package Powerbomb for two! Dragon Suplex attempt from Grace, Tessa breaks it, Headlock Takeover, quick counter wrestling, Tiger Destroyer from Tessa! Only for a two count, but still nice. Buzzsaw attempt is shrugged off, Tessa comes off the ropes and eats the Spinebuster from Jordynne for two quick pinfall attempts. Tessa with the Body Scissors and pulls herself up and fights back, Jordynne slaps her around, looks for the Suplex but Tessa slips it and Neckbreaker Counter for a two count! The brawl to the apron, Grace eats a forearm and Tessa hits the Tornillo on Jordynne! They posture on the steps, Tessa wants a move but Jordynne counters her and Spicolli Driver from the stairs to the floor from Jordynne!

More back and forth in the corner, just positioning and counters, it’s like watching chess. Jordynne grabs Tessa for an Avalanche Air Raid Crash, but Tessa fights it and turns it into an Avalanche Crucifix Bomb! After trying a grounded submission Tessa locks in the Octopus, tries to wrench the fingers but Jordynne counters, Rope Assisted German Suplex into a Capture Suplex for 2! Kudome Valentine attempt from Grace but Tessa gets out, Backfist from Jordynne, Tessa bounces off and Cutter gives her a two count! Tessa calls for Magnum, Jordynne dodges it, Tessa rolls through, tries boots but Grace grabs Tessa and hits the around the world Reverse Alabama Slam! Tessa keeps trying to remove Buckle Pads but they’re on good, Tessa reverses out of the Kinikku Buster, hits the Buzzsaw into the partially exposed buckle but Grace grabs the rope. Tessa removes another pad, Bulldog into exposed buckle, Magnum, and Tessa is still sexy.

The turnbuckle pads being on too well made the finish a little flat, but it was a damn good match. There’s also a joke in the match with Tessa coming out wearing Red and Gold (Yellow), so the racism allegations are never going away if she keeps making it easy.

I Quit Match: Josh Alexander vs Mike Santana

There’s intensity but its all just technical tactics to take each other to the ground and grab a limb. But since we just came off of a pretty good match, things can’t start too hot. Every time Santana throws Josh to the outside, Josh scurries back to the ring, he’s playing scared. There’s a “He’s a bitch” chant that pops up. Santana cuts off Josh’s charge with a few well placed boots which sends Josh outside, Tope con Hilo levels the bald man. Santana throws Josh into a guardrail, Yakuza Kicks back to back rock Josh a bit. Fans call for tables and Santana slides one out to a huge pop. Santana sets it up, plays to the crowd, tries a Powerbomb onto the table but Josh slips it and Overhead Belly to Belly sends Santana crashing. A fan can be heard saying “That look like it hurt” to which Santana replies ” It did asshole”. Now Josh is dissecting Santana’s legs to soften him up for the Ankle Lock. Josh goes for the corner spot with the Figure Four around the post after bouncing the knee off the post a few times.

Josh tries to continue but Santana slides out and counters Josh and bounces his face off the post. Josh walks it off a bit as Santana stalks him and then a quick Chop Block has Santana writhing in pain. Josh decides to be a heel and do the Three Amigos instead of the Kurt Angle Germans. Disrespectful bald jerk. Santana gets throated, dropped to the apron on his ass, Low Crossbody but Santana flattens out and Josh goes flying! Santana tries a Dive, but Josh catches him and just drops him spine first on the apron. After a small resilient flurry of slaps from Santana Josh goes for the Germans. Santana brushes off on the third, goes for the Rolling Buck Fifty, gets caught in the Torture Rack, Santana fights off Josh’s shoulders, kicks him into the corner, Senton into the seated Josh. Perches him up top, points at the table, tries something but Josh fights him off, Moonsault from Josh misses and a Death Valley Driver gives both a moment to breathe.

Santana Spin the-BLOCK-ED! Josh sweeps the leg, Ankle Lock and Santana refuses to quit twice but slips the boot ala Eddie Guerrero. Josh pauses a moment, Santana charges and Josh dumps him over the top rope through the table! Santana says he doesn’t quit, Josh looks surprised, so he goes looking for more plywood. He also grabs the bottom set of stairs and throws them into the ring. Scoop Slams Santana into the broken table and continues looking for weapons, like a chair and zip ties. Santana crawls into the ring, Josh steps on the worked on leg and smashes it repeatedly with the chair. Josh goes into Full Mount, rains down strikes, exposes the elbow for Elbow Strikes and tries to soften him up for the zip ties. C4 Spike but Santana raises up like the Undertaker and fires into beating the piss out of Josh. Frankensteiner on Josh into the Frog Splash, Spin the Block! Josh doesn’t quit. Santana grabs the zip ties that Josh introduced, ties the hands behind Josh’s back, Spin the Block 2! Josh doesn’t quit. Santana sets up the steps as a ramp, table in front of Josh in the corner and Cannonballs through the table into Josh! Josh still doesn’t quit off the Jackass stunt. Santana finds a sock filled with quarters and starts beating Josh like it’s a slapjack. Josh still doesn’t quit. Santana tells Josh to bite the curb and is about to Curb Stomp him into the steps and Josh gets scared and quits.

TNA Tag Team Championships: The Hardyz (c) vs The Rascalz

Fraxiom comes out to watch the match, so this nicely sets up a potential early angle between NXT and TNA for the crossover.

Trey and Matt start, but it’s a slow Headlock basic counters and feint spots. Jeff and Wentz want to play, so this is very Japanese in giving each member a free chance to interact before any cutoffs or tandems. The crowd likes both men, so this is interesting but more Stalemate spots. Jeff manages a Polish Hammer to tag in Matt and go for a quick tandem move and keep Wentz in the Hardy Corner bouncing his face off buckles in Delete fashion. Tag from Jeff for another tandem Rocket Launcher into the bottom rope and Leg Drop from Jeff. Wentz counters the Twist with a Jumping Knee so he manages a tag to Trey and then a few quick striking double team spots. Quick tag to Wentz, Matt comes in to break it up, drops Matt and Wishbone. Quick Tag, MCMG ACS Rush homage. Wentz Dives onto Matt on the outside, Matt catches him into the Side Effect on the floor! Jeff gets the best of Trey after he’s a little distracted. Manhattan Drop from Jeff, into a tag to Matt and then some double team strikes for a near fall. Delete Head Smashes again on Trey.

Vertical Suplex from Matt for another 2. Matt tags out and Hardys look for more Tandem attacks, Plot Twist but Wentz recovers and makes the break! Trey flips out of Jeff’s arms, tags in Wentz, and Wentz cleans house on both Hardys. Corner to corner, tags back in Trey they hit the Saki Kashima assisted Dropkick on each Hardy and then they dump the Hardys at the feet of Fraxiom. FIVE HOLE DIVE FROM RASCALZ! Misses the Hardys and hits Fraxiom! This builds heat for The Rascalz and Fraxiom as Hardys attack the Rascalz while distracted. Poetry in Motion off the stairs from Jeff!

Facebuster from Jeff for two! Wentz hits a Busaiku Knee on Jeff to stop him from hitting Trey, Side Effect drops Wentz, Enzuigiri from Trey drops Matt and all four are down to catch their breath a bit. Original Poetry in Motion on Trey! Twist of Fate from Matt but countered and Matt is thrown into Jeff who’s selling a knee. Superkick into Feed Em to the Lions! Wentz Dives on Matt but Trey can’t quite make a clean pinfall. Jeff eats a Cheeky Nandos and Top Rope Tiger Feint, Twist of Fates for everyone and Jeff re-NO Trey kicks out! Another Twist but eats a Superkick from Wentz, tries the UFO Cutter on Matt but Matt just throws him to the outside. A Twist of Fate from each Hardy Boy, Swanton Bomb and the Hardyz retain!

Thursday’s Live Show will have Fraxiom vs The Rascalz for the NXT Titles!

Raven’s Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match: TNA Knockouts World Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs Rosemary

Do Rosemary’s shorts have Pokemon Gym Badges on em? Masha goes for the Staple Gun, it almost gets countered immediately, but she gets the first few clicks of the Staple gun, it actually doesn’t backfire, but she lets Rosemary powder and starts grabbing a few weapons. Masha finally decides to attack Rosemary with a cane, but Rosemary turns things around with the green mist. Slamovich gets some of the mist out of her eyes, chases her into the ring and eats a Drop Toehold into a Chair. Rosemary sets up the table, panders to the crowd and Masha launches herself over the top with a Crossbody, into Rosemary and then through the table! Masha finds her old chain she used to make Killer Kelly submissive and starts choking and dragging Rosemary around the ring and then Sabus the chair at Rosemary for emphasis.

Masha tries to hit the front flip Senton onto a seated Rosemary, but Rosemary moves and Masha hits the chair weird. Rosemary beats her with a chair a few times, looks under the ring, gets giddy and finds Janice! Rosemary swings Janice, breaks it, and then uses the two pieces to block the cane Masha had and then pressed the nail portion into Masha’s back! Rosemary is talking to Janice and goes to the back to find tacks that she spills out on the stage. Rosemary wants a Chokeslam into tacks, Masha counters, misses a Lariat and then eats the Spear into the tacks! Barbed Wire board is set up in the ring, Spicolli…nope! Russian Death Device into the Barbed Wire! Masha goes to the top, Footstomp into the barbed wire but only for 2 again! Masha goes to the outside and grabs a ladder.

A trash can lid gets thrown at Rosemary for good measure, Masha ascends the ladder and then Rosemary pushes the ladder and Masha goes crashing through one of two tables set up on the outside. Rough spot, rough looking, but Masha manages to move enough to break the pinfall since its falls count anywhere. Rosemary now goes full Kevin Steen and makes some chair art for a spot, drags Masha into the ring, sets he on the chairs and goes to the top. Masha sits up as Rosemary climbs, counters the momentum and Avalanche Requiem through the chairs! Masha retains.

Cora Jade’s music hits and sets up nicely after Masha was on NXT.

The Countdown Panel starts off with their main event picks they hinted towards and it’s necessary because they have to clean up the ring. Mark Henry picks Joe Hendry, and he better be correct. Ryan Nemeth interrupts with the “my brootthhheerrr” stuff, and Santino calls him “Fuck Face Guy”. It’s all good stuff, and I’m still a big fan of the Mokuba gimmick, but now they ban Ryan Nemeth.

TNA World Championship: Nic Nemeth (c) vs Joe Hendry

Simple chain wrestling start until Nic has a few words and then snaps off a Dropkick, does his show off Dolph stuff so Hendry runs him over with a Shoulder Block and then a Knee Lift. Hendry tries his Stalling Suplex but Nic slips it into a Rear Naked Choke! Hendry spins Nic around, walks around with the Stalling Suplex before finally dropping Nic. Ryan Nemeth shows up with a ticket, so he’s sitting in the crowd now. Joe gets distracted just enough for Nic to jump up and hit a delayed DDT. After Nic tries to stretch Joe a little, Hendry goes into locomotion Cradles but Nic drops Joe to take a breather. Nic does his single Shot to the Heart Elbow and he’s really embracing the old Dolph Ziggler show off ego. Ziggler looks for a Rude Awakening after more arrogant moments, but Joe tries to fight it off, so Nic just snaps off a Jumping Neckbreaker.

Joe manages to hit a Cutter off the ropes to try and get some energy from the crowd. Strike exchange happens here, Uppercuts from Joe and Fists from Nic. Joe blocks one fist, throws a few of his own together and a Lariat levels Nic. Sack of Shit into the Kip Up! Counters galore from both men before Nic gets caught in the Pop-Up Powerbomb! Attitude Adjustment for just a near fall. You see moments of Nic trying to cheat or find an angle but he hasn’t done anything overtly heelish yet. Joe is rocking him with chops, perches Nic on the top, looks for the Superplex but Nic fights back, Hendry gets pushed off, Crossbody but Hendry rolls through, holds on and gets his Powerbomb countered into a FAMEasser for two! Nic crawls to a corner, looks to climb for something big, Hendry cuts him off, Avalanche Sack of Shit! Kaz walks out with the trophy as both men sell, but JBL comes out of the crowd and Clothesline from Hell on Kaz. JBL punches Ryan in the face as he comes out to say something. Then Tuxedo JBL leaves after doing his job. Standing Ovation from HENDRY! 1-2-NO! Nic kicks out!

The crowd chants “One More Time” and it fires up Hendry, he does the heel turn and goes full Queen Stomp, tries again, but Nic slips it. Superkick into Danger Zone and it’s….HENDRY KICKS OUT! Nic is tuning up the band, Hendry catches Nic, Sack of Shit, Kip Up, big fire, Standing Ovation! JOE HENDRY WINS!

Overall Score: 7/10

Even if the match quality wasn’t bonkers, mostly all the matches did what they needed to do, were fairly good and a good number of NXT talent showed up to make the Live iMPACT! and TNA really feel like something special right now. I’m an unabashed Tessa fan, so I’m giddy she won and Hendry finally getting the title is the latest they could’ve really dragged this out to, but at least it stops him from becoming Tetsuya Nai-Joe.

I’m not gonna be a hypocrite from previous complaints I made with too many champions being babyfaces, because that’s still bad and proves the next few title defenses could prove volatile. However, I of course just enjoy most of the current champions. So while it doesn’t erase the fact it’s bad, it makes it more palatable for me personally. Now if only PCO destroyed the Knockouts Tags instead of a different irrelevant belt.

Also let’s be very clear, anyone that believes the PCO stunt was a legit shoot doesn’t know wrestling. Everything is a work until it isn’t and then it still could be turned into a work. Don’t be gullible and just anticipate something to be worked out of it one way or the other.

Still though, good show with a lot of hype for the Live iMPACT, so Thursday should be fun! See you there!

Tell ’em, Turbo! Turbo Floyd says messing with the Outrunners is one thing, but what about this big super group right here? The best super group since the Yankees! Give it to ’em, big man! Hobbs says on Wednesday, he almost had that AEW World Championship. But even with a bad leg, he’ll hobble out there and beat dat ass! Cope adds that Moxley better shut up and listen.

“Christopher Daniels, for far too long, I have listened to the ruminations and opinions of how I should live my life from old men like you. CD, you are wrong. And you are long in the tooth. Tonight, Texas Death, I take you out to pasture.” The Blackhat Cowboy is ready to put the Fallen Angel out of his misery, but will he hit that Buckshot right in Daniels’ face?

Texas Death Match: Hangman Page VS Christopher Daniels!

No sense in waiting to find out, the Cowboy and the Fallen Angel start us off! Will “Maximum Carnage” be an understatement after these two go until one man can’t keep going?

The bell rings and the fans rally up already. Hangman and Daniels stare down, step up, and Daniels says Hangman could’ve just let it all go. It didn’t have to be like this! The fans duel, but Hangman SLAPS Daniels! Hangman throws hands in the corner, but Daniels CHOPS in return! Daniels ROCKS Hangman, RAMS him again and again, but Hangman CLUBS Daniels back. Hangman fires hands, but Daniels kicks low! The shots go back and forth but Hangman ROCKS Daniels! Hangman CLAWS Daniels’ eyes, then fires body shots and haymakers! Hangman CLUBS away on Daniels, the fans fire up, and Hangman whips corner to corner.

Daniels reverses, runs up, but into a BOOT! Hangman rains down fists, then lets off to pace around. Daniels bails out, but Hangman runs to triangle jump LARIAT! Daniels falls to the floor, but he rises up, into a PLANCHA from Hangman! The fans fire up again while the ref checks Daniels. Daniels is in this but Hangman puts him in the ring. Hangman snarls, but Daniels WRECKS him with a dropkick! Daniels then aims, ARABIAN- NO, Hangman YANKS Daniels down, then sends him into railing! The fans are torn as Hangman grabs a chair! Hangman runs up, and he CLOBBERS Daniels with the chair!

Daniels flounders, Hangman fires the fans up, then he puts the chair in the ring. Hangman grabs more chairs, and Daniels rises up. Daniels is busted open, but Hangman shoves Daniels into the ring. Hangman goes looking, and he brings out BARBED WIRE! Hangman is escalating this quickly as he goes for Daniels’ face! Daniels fights back, but Hangman still DIGS the wire into Daniels’ forehead! He was already bloodied but it’s only gonna get worse! The fans tell Hangman he’s sick, but Hangman LASHES Daniels on the back with the wire! And LASHES him again! Hangman then puts the wire in Daniels’ mouth!!

The fans are freaking out as Hangman is practically flossing Daniels’ teeth with the wire! But Daniels throws Hangman away! Daniels blocks a kick, ducks a lariat, but then the BOOT comes back! Daniels is down, Hangman grabs the rest of the wire, and he wraps it around his arm! Hangman aims, Daniels staggers up, BARBED WIRE ROLLING ELBOW! Daniels falls again, Hangman holds up the wire and the fans cheer, but Collision goes picture in picture.

Hangman stalks Daniels to the ropes, then CHOKES him! Hangman only lets off so he can grab a chair. Hangman sits that chair up, and Daniels sputters from behind his crimson mask. Hangman sets another chair up, those sit facing each other. Hangman brings Daniels over, fireman’s carries, but Daniels fights free! Daniels staggers to a corner, Hangman runs up, but into a BOOT! Daniel runs up, but into a POP-UP POWERBOMB onto the chairs! Daniels writhes and Hangman snarls. The standing count starts, but Daniels uses ropes to stand at 5 of 10! Hangman KICKS him in the side!

Hangman grabs a chair, wedges it into a corner, but Daniels flops out of the ring. Daniels is buying himself as much time as he can but Hangman clears everything else out of the ring. Hangman storms after Daniels, scoops him, and FALL AWAY SLAMS him onto the floor! Daniels writhes again but Hangman goes looking under the ring again. Hangman brings out a TABLE! Hangman positions the table to be ringside, but Daniels drags himself to the apron. Hangman goes up to join Daniels as Maximum Carnage returns to single picture. Hangman brings Daniels over, Alabama Lifts, but Daniels CLUBS away on Hangman’s back!

Daniels underhooks! Hangman lifts! Daniels fights and slips around, to then LARIAT Hangman into the ring! The fans rally up and Daniels steps back in. Daniels storms up on Hangman, but Hangman sends him into the chair! Daniels falls back, the chair stuck around his head! Hangman snarls again while Daniels sputters. Daniels rolls out and ends up on the table, so Hangman runs to DOUBLE STOMP him down through the table!! The fans lose their minds, the standing count begins, and Hangman watches Daniels crawl. Daniels manages to rise at 7, but Hangman KICKS him back down! Hangman rains down fists on the bloody forehead!

Hangman goes looking, and he finds a table with barbed wire on it!! Hangman shoves that into the ring, careful not to poke himself too bad. Hangman sets this monstrosity up near a corner, and Daniels has made his way to the apron. Hangman climbs the corner to bring Daniels up. The fans are already worried, and Hangman Alabama Lifts Daniels! Daniels fights with everything he has left! Daniels HEADBUTTS away on Hangman, then fires down elbows! Daniels slips in, clinches, and URENAGE DOWN THROUGH THE BARBED WIRE TABLE!!! The fans lose their minds while both men are down!

The ref clears the wreckage while both men crawl to the corners. Daniels runs in to LARIAT from behind! GERMAN SUPLEX! S T O! Daniels roars and the fans fire up! Daniels drags Hangman up, clinches again, UREN- NO, Hangman arm-drags free! Hangman LARIATS Daniels up and out, onto the ramp! Hangman snarls, aims, and BUCKSHOT- NO, Daniels ducks that to mule kick! Daniels underhooks, but Hangman BACKDROPS Daniels back into the ring! Daniels snarls through the crimson mask, but Hangman has more barbed wire! Daniels storms up, and Hangman DIGS the wire into Daniels’ face!!

Daniels staggers away, Hangman wraps his arm again! BARBED WIRE BUCK- FLATLINER!! KOJI KLUTCH!! Hangman endures, the fans fire up, and Daniels squeezes as tight as he can! But Hangman DIGS the wire into Daniels’ face again!! Daniels lets go, sputters through the blood, and slowly rises. Hangman aims, lifts, but Daniels grabs ropes! Daniels holds on, but then lets go to underhook! ANGEL’S WINGS!! Both men are down so the count is on them both! Daniels is already up at 5, Hangman is up at 6! The fans fire up for another URENAGE! Daniels points to the corner and the fans fire up!

Daniels crushes Hangman under the wood, then shoves it aside! Fans hope these tow “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Hangman is still down at 5 of 10! And at 7! Hangman scrambles to his feet at 9!! Hangman is bloodied but he’s going nuts! He steps on the chair so Daniels can’t use it! Daniels ROCKS Hangman, Hangman LARIATS Daniels! Scoop and tuck! TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER onto the chair!!

Daniels crawls with one good arm, and he’s somehow still in this! Fans want that “ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!” Hangman waits on Daniels to stand, then reels him in! Alabama Lift, DEADEYE onto the chair!!! Daniels sputters but he’s staying down! Hangman goes to the apron and he loads up all the same. Daniels somehow rises up before 5 of 10, so a BUCKSHOT from behind takes him down!! The count starts again while Hangman stands over Daniels. The count is 5 of 10, then 7. 8! 9! 10!! Daniels is done, Hangman wins!

Winner: Hangman Page, by knockdown

The medics check Daniels, but Hangman leaves him behind. But then on second thought, Hangman drags Daniels up! Underhooks and ANGEL’S WINGS!! Hangman adds insult to injury by using Daniels’ own move!! Hangman storms off, leaving Daniels to the medics. Is this the end of the Fallen Angel? Is this only the beginning of Hangman’s violent road back to the world title?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

He welcomes us back to Maximum Carnage, and he welcomes out Toni Storm! Cincinnati fires up as The Rockstar is back again, and “Rookie” Toni joins Schiavone in the ring. Schiavone notes her historic win in the inaugural Women’s Casino Gauntlet, and with it, her shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship! It will be Grand Slam: Australia, Toni’s hometown of Brisbane, how does she feel? Toni says honestly, she doesn’t even know what her life is right now. It is so surreal! All she can say is, her dreams are finally coming true!

Because she’s going to Australia, to the building where she saw her first wrestling show, and she’ll never forget how her mom scraped together all she could so that they could get tickets, just to sit in the back row. Mom sold hot dogs to pay for Toni’s training. Mom sewed together Toni’s original ring gear. Now Toni can call mom and tell her, “Get ready, cuz I’m coming home!” The fans cheer that! Schiavone says that is a great feeling, but Toni surely realizes she is facing Mariah May, and that is an entirely different feeling. The fans boo Mariah, but Toni says Mariah is “the best in the business today. She’s killing it!”

But Toni hasn’t even had a chance to introduce herself to Mariah. Maybe next week, in Jacksonville, Daily’s Place, the home of AEW… It’s time for Toni and Mariah to finally meet face to face. The fans cheer, but Schiavone wants Toni to understand. C’mon now, Toni. Aw, c’mon yourself, Schiavone! It’s Tony and Toni! That means… IT’S TONI TIME~! WOO~! Say it with her! Okay. It’s TONI TIME! The fans cheer and Toni gets Tony to be all fired up! But the point Schiavone was trying to get to is valid: Is Toni really unaware of her timeless rivalry with The Glamour?

The Hurt Syndicate speaks.

It was after the show on Wednesday that MVP said a definitive statement was made. MVP promised Lashley & Shelton that when they came to AEW, the championship gold would be theirs for the taking. The All Mighty has never been a tag team champion while the Standard of Excellence has many times. That changes everything. With the defeat, the ASS KICKING, they just put on Private Party, that should make the Hurt Syndicate the #1 contenders. So Private Party, time to crash the party! Next week, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Private Party better put up the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Shelton & Lashley. See what you’ve really got!

But just remember: #WeHurtPeople. Lashley says this ish is gonna be easy. He and Shelton fist bump, but will they put the hurt on Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy?

Six Man Tag: The Undisputed Kingdom VS Shane Taylor Promotions!

Adam Cole, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly are reunited once more, ready for more, and they have all sorts of targets in mind. But Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo have their eyes on those same championship targets, which is why they’re crossing paths here tonight. Will #TAIGASTYLE & The Infantry show the Kingdom how to rumble, bad men, rumble? Or will Maximum Carnage be undisputed?

The trios sort out and the ROH Pure Champion starts against Adam Cole BAYBAY. They circle, tie up, and Lee already gets a leg pick. Lee then switches to a waistlock, Cole switches with him, repeat. Cole headlocks, Lee powers up and out, but Cole KICKS the backdrop! Cole then dodges the lariat, PELES, and he brings Lee over. Tag to Roddy, they mug Lee, and Roddy CHOPS! Roddy CHOPS again, then wrenches to a wristlock. Lee rolls, slips through, traps the arms, and he pulls on an ear! Tag to Dean, STP mug Roddy, and then Dean scoops, only for Roddy to slip free. Roddy shoves and DROPKICKS Dean down!

The fans fire up, Strong tags Kyle, and they CHOP and KICK away on The Captain! lee runs up, Kyle KICKS him down! Kyle & Roddy double suplex Dean onto Lee! Cover on Dean, TWO! Kyle drags Dean up but Dean JAWBREAKERS free! Tag to Carlie but Kyle kicks, clinches, and fires Muay Thai knee after knee! Kyle KICKS Carlie down, then stalks him to ropes. Kyle whips, Carlie reverses, and Dean trips Kyle up! The ref is arguing with Carlie, and now with The Kingdom, as Dean hits an APRON CUTTER! Carlie goes up and out to then GUILLOTINE AX HANDLE! Kyle flops down, STP pose together, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Kyle sputters, The Infantry distract the ref, and that lets Shane THROW Kyle into railing! Shane DECKS Kyle while The Kingdom protests! The ref keeps everyone back, and Dean brings Kyle around. Carlie puts Kyle in the ring, whips him to a corner, then storms up to JAB! JAB! JAB! Carlie pops, locks ‘n’ winds up, to CHOP! Carlie talks smack, tags Dean, then Dean sends Carlie in to SPLASH! Dena runs up, whips Carlie in again, forearm SMASH! Then Dean ELBOWS Kyle! Kyle staggers, into a LARIAT from Dean! The Captain scowls while he stands over Kyle. Dean then pushes Kyle to a cover, TWO!

Dean drags Kyle back, anchors him, then tags Lee. Lee drags Kyle up to UPPERCUT! Kyle staggers around, Lee Mongolian CHOPS! Kyle staggers some more, and Collision goes to break.

Collision returns while both Kyle and Lee are down. The fans rally up, both men crawl, hot tags to Dean and Cole! the fans fire up as Cole dodges Dean, BLASTS Lee & Carlie, but Dean waistlocks! Cole elbows free, then LARITS Dean down! And ELBOWS him! And BOOTS him! Dean staggers, Cole fireman’s carries, USHIGOROSHI! Cover, TWO! Cole keeps his focus and he climbs a corner. Dean rises, for the PANAMA- NO, Dean slips under the sunrise! But Cole SUPERKICKS! Cole suplexes, LAST SHOT! Cover, TWO!! Well, not quite the last shot, so Cole tags ROddy. Rioddy hauls Dean up to CHOP away!

Roddy runs, BLASTS Carlie, then runs to SHINING WIZARD Dean! Side to side, forearm SMASH! Then a RUNNING FACEBUSTER! Cover, Carlie & Lee break it! STP mugs Roddy, double whips, but Roddy grabs ropes! Roddy BOOTS and ENZIGIRIS Lee, Kyle sneaks a tag! Roddy TOSSES Carlie and Kyle FLYING KNEES him down! Lee runs up but Cole gets him with 52 Fake Out! Then a PANAMA SUNRISE! The fans fire up as Dean staggers up! Roddy & Kyle call their shot, TOTAL ANNIHILATION! Cover, Undisputed Kingdom wins!

Winners: The Undisputed Kingdom, by pinfall

STP put up quite the fight, but now Shane himself CLOBBERS Kyle! And he blocks a kick to KNEE Cole down! And he HEADBUTTS Roddy down! The fans boo but Big Bad Shaney T is that bad! He talks trash, even to Daddy Magic! Matt Menard says alright then! If Shane thinks he’s bad, then step to him! Or rather, step to DANIEL GARCIA! The TNT Champion makes his way out here, and he CLOBBERS Carlie! He CLOBBERS Dean! And he fires hands on Shane! Garcia throws off his jacket, storms in, and he fires more hands! Shane shoves Garcia away, but Kyle KICKS! Cole SUPERKICKS! Strong KNEE!

Daniel reels Shane in, SAIDO! The fans fire up as Garcia and the Undisputed Kingdom stand tall together! STP retreats, but then The Kingdom eyes that TNT Championship. Garcia holds it up, and he dares any which one of them wants it to come get it. Who will be the first from The Kingdom to challenge the Red Death?

AEW shares more footage from after Dynamite.

Alicia Atout was with Will Ospreay and asked him about the save he made for Kenny Omega against the Don Callis Family. What are his thoughts after all that? Ospreay says you can call it a save for Kenny but it was really Ospreay trying to get after Kyle Fletcher. But hey, he and Kenny have had their differences. Their battles in Japan and Canada have gone down as legendary. But they both know each other because of Don Callis. That is their link, that is how they’re tied together. Before, it was all about egos, but to be honest, this is bigger than both of them. Time they had a chat. Next week, Dynamite in Knoxville, Ospreay calls out Kenny to have that chat.

The Bruv wants to talk with The Best Bout Machine, will they come to an agreement when it comes to their common enemies?

Brian Cage & Lance Archer w/ Don Callis VS Top Flight w/ Leila Grey!

Speaking of Don Callis, his Murder Machines are back in action, ready to make #EverybodyDie! Will Cage & Archer be waiting on the other side of Private Party VS Hurt Syndicate for their tag title shot? Or can Dante & Darius Martin show that the bigger they are, the harder they fall?

Backstage interview with The Learning Tree.

Lexy Nair is with Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” Morrissey, and she asks Jericho about how on Dynamite, he assured us all that The Learning Tree and The Death Riders would be on the same page, and that Jon Moxley can trust them. How is Jericho so sure that things will go well when The Death Riders didn’t even show for this interview? The Redwood says, “As the Learning Tree always says, ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder.'” Jericho says that’s so true. And Moxley isn’t the type to show up and do interviews. Jericho isn’t the type to stand here and allow someone to stir the pot.

So enough of this muckraking! Bryan Keith adds, “No mother effin’ muckraking!!” Lexy is a bit taken aback, but Jericho tells Moxley that he’ll address him directly. They’ve known each other a long time. They were the first two AEW World Champions! They have beaten the hell out of each other around the entire world! Moxley left this scar right on Jericho’s left eyebrow. See? And Jericho took a spike and tried to take Moxley’s eye. So like Jericho said, they’ve beaten each other all around the world, but tonight they have common enemies! Moxley knows there is no one in AEW as driven or as smart as Moxley as Jericho.

So if Moxley’s as smart as Jericho thinks, it would behoove Moxley to trust The Learning Tree. And if there’s any doubt, then The Learning Tree will prove it to you before you meet them in the ring. Lexy asks what he means, but Jericho counters with, “What does anything mean, Lexy?” Jericho storms off, Bill says that was a sick burn. Keith says it was a sick ass burn! The Learning Tree heads out, but seriously, what does Jericho mean? How’re they going to prove themselves to The Death Riders before their 12 Man Tag?

Backstage interview with Matt Menard & Daniel Garcia.

Collision returns as Lexy is now with Daddy Magic & The TNT Champion, and she notes them helping out The Undisputed Kingdom. Can they explain how and why? But before Garcia can, Roddy shouts at “DANIEEEL~!” The Kingdom thanks Garcia for that, they appreciate the help. And trust Cole when he says that if there’s anyone who understands competition, certainly it’s Garcia. It is a shame, though, that Garcia & Menard don’t have a third man, because Cole, Roddy & Kyle wanna prove they’re the best trio in AEW. Garcia says yeah, well, they’ll be in Jacksonville next week for Collision: Homecoming.

And Garcia remembers walking into Jacksonville three years ago with two people he barely even knew, at the bottom of the totem pole. Three years later, we’re going back to Jacksonville and it’s a completely different story. Menard checks with Garcia. Is he saying they’re call the brand new father? The new father? Then Kingdom is on! Homecoming, Jacksonville, Six Man Tag! Cole and the boys like that, and they head out. Will things still be undisputed? Or will Cool Hand Ange’s return to the ring tip the scales?

Max Caster is in the ring.

Platinum Max has both a mic and a leather bag, and he thanks the fans, missing how they’re booing him. But Caster says there has been a lot of issues going on within The Acclaimed. There are a lot of rumors online, a lot of talk, but he wants to clear the air right now with his teammate, Anthony Bowens. Caster asks Bowens to come to the ring, and he has the fans cheer Bowens on. Bowens does walk out here, and he grabs a mic for himself. Caster says this has gone on long enough. There has been a huge misunderstanding between the two of them. They are a great team, and more importantly, they are great friends.

The biggest issue here is that Bowens just won’t admit that Caster is the Best Wrestler Alive! The fans boo and Bowens stops Caster there. Bowens says it is finally time for Caster to listen! Because for the last five years, Bowens has tried with every fiber of his being to protect Caster in the ring, in the locker room, and in the media. Because they, The Acclaimed, were tag team partners, and then became best friends. But now Bowens has to live with the very uncomfortable truth that Caster has made Bowens into a liar! Because for those five years, Bowens has had to lie to every single fan about who Caster is as a person!

Because Cincinnati, you need to know that Max Caster is an arrogant, cocky, selfish, edge lord PIECE OF S*IT! And Caster wants the fans to believe he’s the Best Wrestler Alive? Newsflash: The fans believe YOU SUCK! The fans cheer, but Caster brings out a (fake) degree from his bag that says “Best Wrestler Alive!” Bowens says this is what he means! Cater is selfish, he lost the team spirit! Why did Caster start looking down on Bowens? Maybe it’s because Bowens is the Scissor King, not that Caster’s been doing that. Well guess what? Bowens is more than that! He possesses every tool necessary to be a world champion! Cincy agrees there!

Bowens has proudly represented AEW since he put pen to paper! He is the GADDAMN PRIDE of AEW! He is the Five Tool Player!! The fans cheer that! And Bowens doesn’t need some piece of paper to prove it. Caster says don’t touch him! Wait, the music hits? They’re both here, so that means it is DADDY ASS! Billy Gunn is back, mic in hand, and he sighs looking at his boys fighting. The fans cheer and Billy says first off, what is wrong with these two? They are The Acclaimed! AEW World Tag Team Champions, AEW World Trios Champions, and they got everyone to scissor just because it was cool!

Caster claims Billy doesn’t care about them! He just attached himself to a couple of young, hungry wrestlers like them just so they could hear the fans chant his name again. Billy made it about Billy, when it should be about MAX! The Best Wrestler Alive! Oh, and Anthony! They are best friends! Seriously! Okay? They are two guys who were randomly put together, didn’t know each other, but they became the winningest tag team in AEW history! Every team Billy has been a part of has broken up, and there’s a reason for that. Yeah, even Gunn Club! Billy’s own two sons did not want anything to do with him!

Billy gets pissed and he gets in Caster’s face. The fans tell Billy, “KICK HIS ASS! KICK HIS ASS!” Caster says he is not doing this. Bowens has to choose: Caster or Billy. If Bowens wants The Acclaimed to continue, it is either Caster or “washed-up” Billy Gunn. The fans cheer for “BILLY! BILLY!” Bowens is conflicted, but Caster stands there with open arms. Bowens offers the scissors, so Caster says okay. But then Bowens makes it a middle finger! The fans cheer as Bowens stands with Billy! So is that how it is? Caster says fine! Another bad decision from “Bad Decision Bowens.” You can’t walk away from Caster, he’s walking away from them!

Acclaimed is done because CASTER said so as leader of the team! It is Bowens’ fault, it is Billy’s fault, and it’s the fault of every fan here! Caster will prove to everyone that he IS the Best Wrestler Alive, and without him, Bowens sucks, Billy sucks, and all the fans suck! The fans chant “YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!” Bowens tells Caster that he didn’t need Caster then, and he doesn’t need Caster now! Get outta his life! Billy, Cincy, one last time! Throw the scissors up! The fans cheer as Bowens & Billy SCISSOR~! Caster is frustrated, but will he just have to put up or shut up?

Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana.

Lexy is with The Realest and says the past few weeks, he and Ricochet have had this cat ‘n’ mouse game. But it was announced that February 5th, Dynamite in Atlanta, we will get Swerve VS Ricochet. But until then, what is Swerve’s strategy? Swerve says respectfully, the longer they waste time talking, the more time Ricochet has to get away. And as for “cat ‘n’ mouse,” this is more like lion and rat. It will end now. February 5th, Swerve gets Ricochet in the ring to himself, but Swerve plans on seeing him way before then. Swerve has been cursed with the ability where everything he touches dies…

With that said, Swerve plans on using that for when he gets his hands on Ricochet’s throat! The Most Dangerous Man is only going to be more dangerous from now on, will Ricochet have no chance of escape?

And what of Rated FTR? Are they still brawling with The Death Riders somewhere in Cincinnati? Will they be brawling all the way to Knoxville this Wednesday?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision here, but with some obvious new examples of Tony Khan forgetting his own stories. The Undisputed Kingdom VS Shane Taylor Promotions was a great Six Man Tag, and a great win for Cole, Roddy & Kyle now that they’re all back together, but I guess The Conglomeration meant nothing to anyone in the end. Secondly, Daniel Garcia making the save is fine and all, but why’re we pivoting away from how Garcia is friends with Private Party and should be helping them with The Hurt Syndicate? Not to mention, Shelton and Garcia still have beef from the C2 to settle, aka a TNT Championship match. Hurt Syndicate had a good promo, and it’s really hard to think Private Party retains the tag titles.

Back to Garcia, I do appreciate we’re getting back to him teaming with Menard & Parker, and we’ll have a fun Six Man Tag for Homecoming, but I feel like Undisputed Kingdom wins again. We’ll probably get the Kingdom member who scores the fall challenging for the TNT Championship, so maybe like Kyle VS Garcia, but even that should be a one-off. If The Kingdom wants to be the “best trio” in AEW, that means they want the trios titles, and that means running afoul of The Death Riders, who already have Rated FTR after them. I suppose the easiest solution is just for Claudio, Yuta & Pac to defend against both teams in some kind of wild Trios match, but it’s hard to say if TK can sort out a mess like that.

There’s also the ROH World Six Man titles, but it doesn’t seem like The Von Erichs ever leave Texas. And All In: Texas is the big attraction for the Summer, so I can’t imagine “The Sons of Texas” losing in Texas… Well, that’s a problem to be solved later, we still got a good match from Dustin Rhodes tonight, but then that was about it. I was expecting someone from the ROH side to call him out for the tag titles, but nope. Gates of Agony had a very good promo to put a challenge of their own out there, and I suppose since they want the best possible, TK wasn’t going to short change them. Brody & Buddy having a match for Homecoming could help them introduce their new team name that is no longer House of Black related, given Malakai Black seems on his way out for real this time.

Speaking of, Julia had a very good match with Harley and got a very good win out of it. Julia still seems to be working the rust off but she can definitely find her way back to a title. If it’s Mercedes Mone still as TBS Champion, Julia isn’t winning. And even then, whoever beats Mone isn’t losing to Julia… Toni Storm had a good promo with Schiavone, especially the subtle way she stopped Schiavone from bringing up her past with Mariah. Whether this is a delusion or a deception, that will surely come to a head next week when Toni and Mariah meet face to face. I am really going to enjoy the moment Toni finally says, “How DARE you!” again.

Very good tag match of Murder Machines VS Top Flight, but of course Archer & Cage were going to win. They need their own momentum, for starters, and also they’re just massive. Depending on how the tag title match goes, I could see the Murder Machines going after Private Party, or even stepping to the Hurt Syndicate to make that the next phase of the Don Callis Family story. Ospreay had a good promo to bring up that feud, and I would think Ospreay’s chat with Omega next week is to make an alliance so that they can take on The Don Callis Family. Then as I said on Wednesday, we can get Ospreay & Omega VS Murder Machines first, then Ospreay & Omega VS Kyle & Konosuke after that.

Hangman VS Daniels was an awesome Texas Death Match, just a little bit short of the matches Hangman has had with Swerve. But even so, Daniels looked awesome, even with how he was bleeding and beat up. Hangman wins, of course, and he could go after just about anyone after this. And if this is Daniels’ sendoff as an in-ring competitor, what a way to go out, #ThankYouCD. Speaking of Swerve, he’s of course going to be hunting Ricochet, and the three weeks until Dynamite Atlanta will be some interesting ones. But I feel like they could’ve instead kayfabed that each week is meant to have Ricochet VS Swerve, Ricochet keeps ducking Swerve, and then TK takes an onscreen role to say enough is enough, Ricochet HAS to face Swerve in Atlanta, last warning.

Okada VS Ishii was a great match, and Okada sure hit all his usuals. Okada cheating to get the win is fitting of this Heel persona, but it’s hard to say where he’s going after this. Part of me wonders if Hobbs can step to him given how strong he’s getting to look lately. Good promo from Hobbs & Rated FTRunners, and I do commend Learning Tree for attacking after as a way of trying to win over The Death Riders. It didn’t work out, obviously, as Hobbs gets to look even stronger. Rated FTR and Death Riders brawling out of the building to take themselves out of the equation was smart, too, keeps them from being part of the math once Hobbs “heroically” goes out there and wins it for the Faces. Hobbs VS Okada would be an awesome match, and the promos oughta be fun, too.

My Score: 8.8/10
