WWE United States Championship Open Challenge: LA Knight VS ???

Berlin goes wild for the Mega Star as he makes his way out to the ring! Knight poses on the corner, then grabs a mic while fans chant his name. Knight says, “LEMME TALK TO YA! 27 years… Some of you might not know this, but it’s been 27 long years since the WWE has come here and done a major televised event in Berlin. And MY GAWD, what a way to kick it off other than with the man they call the Mega Star, YEAH!” The fans say “YEAH!” and cheer him on again. Knight understands that sitting on his should is the United States Championship, and just last week, he had his very first and successful title defense in the US capital, Washington, DC.

Hey, now, no need to boo that. Because Knight thought to himself… The fans chant “You Deserve It!” in terms of the title reign, and Knight says hold on, let’s do that in a minute. Because he thought if he was gonna defend this title, defending it in one capital, he might as well defend it in the capital of Germany! It might become a trend! They can call this The Capital Championship! But right here, your US Champion, Knight said he’d hold an “LA Knight Invitational Open Challenge!” So anyone who wants to answer, tell ya what, we’re just a day away from Bash In Berlin. But SmackDown is in Berlin, and as far as he’s concerned, whoever wants it can get bashed, YEAH!

Knight waits on a response, and wait! Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser makes his way out here! Or rather, Germany’s own Ludwig Kaiser! The fans cheer, and Kaiser tells Berlin, in German, that Ludwig Kaiser is home! And if Knight really is the champion he says he is, then he surely wants to defend his championship against the very best all over the world! Well, Kaiser himself and the entirety of Berlin can guarantee Knight that there is no one better on German soil than the Impeccable German, Ludwig Kaiser! So here’s a news flash: After Kaiser beats Knight in his home country’s capital, he will take that title, bring it all across Europe, and make it bigger than it ever was as the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP!

The fans are fired up for Kaiser, perhaps a first for him. Knight says he has to be honest, that reaction is impressive, for Gunther’s stooge. But hey, talking about what he wants to do with this title, he can do anything he wants. The only problem is, he has to win it! But he won’t, cuz he can’t, cuz Knight won’t let him! So here’s how it goes. Kaiser wants to talk about what he wants, well all he gets is three the hard way! Knight will hit it ‘n’ quit it, move on to the next, and then the world can pledge allegiance to the champ, with everybody saying, “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!” The match is set, we just need a ref! While we wait, SmackDown takes a break.

SmackDown returns, a ref is here, and the bell rings. The fans fire up and cheer on Kaiser. There are Knight fans, but the split is pretty one-sided. The two tie up, are in a deadlock, and they go around. Kaiser uses his height for leverage but Knight turns things around to put Kaiser in a corner. Knight lets off cleanly, and the fans rally as the two reset. They feel things out, tie up again, and Kaiser chinbars. Kaiser wrenches Knight, wristlocks, and he pushes on the hold. Knight endures, fights up, and rolls to wrench and YANK the arm again and again! The fans are torn, Knight WRINGS Kaiser out, but Kaiser gets right up!

The fans cheer as Kaiser gets in Knight’s face then shoves. Knight shoves back, they tie up again, and they go around. Kaiser pulls hair to put Knight in a corner, then he fires hands! Kaiser headlocks for a takeover to grind Knight down. Knight endures, fights up, and rolls Kaiser. Kaiser lets go, Kaiser ELBOWS him down! Knight puts Kaiser in a corner, stomps him, “YEAH! YEAH!” Then he JABS, “YEAH! YEAH!” Knight whips Kaiser corner to corner, but Kaiser reverses. Kaiser runs up, blocks a boot, and the fans join in saying, “NEIN!” UPPERCUT! The fans cheer, Kaiser stomps Knight, and they say “JA! JA! JA!”

Kaiser lets off, runs up, but Knight LARIATS first! The fans fire up as Knight kicks Kaiser out. Knight goes out, brings Kaiser around, and hits an APRON BACK SUPLEX! The fans sing a German soccer song as Knight brings Kaiser around, and Kaiser RAMS Knight into the apron! And then throws him into the steel steps! The fans rally as Kaiser refreshes the count, then builds speed around the way! SHOTGUN against the steps! Knight writhes, the ref has Kaiser back off, and SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns again and the fans cheer as Kaiser stands over Knight. Knight goes to the apron, Kaiser goes after him and HAMMERS away! The ref counts, Kaiser lets off to then juke and CLOBBER Knight more! The ref counts, Kaiser lets off, and the fans continue to sing for Kaiser. Kaiser pushes Knight around, then sits him up. Knight hits back, but Kaiser fires hands! They go back and forth, shot for shot, then they stand to keep going! Kaiser CHOPS then BOOTS Knight, then eggs him on! Kaiser signals he will be champion and the fans fire up. Kaiser drags Knight up, but Knight RAMS him into a corner!

Knight fires off hands then lets off, to CHOP! Kaiser staggers to another corner, Kaiser runs up to LARIAT him up and out! Knight goes out to SMACK Kaiser off the desk again and again! Fans are torn between boos and “YEAH!” but then Knight winds up to SMACK Kaiser off the desk once more! Knight puts Kaiser in, but has to dodge quick! Knight then JUMPING NECKBREAKERS! Kaiser is down, Knight kicks him to a drop zone. Knight goes up, spells it out, “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!” AX HANDLE! Cover, TWO! Kaiser stays in this and Berlin cheers! Knight is a bit frustrated, but he stalks Kaiser to a corner.

Knight stomps Kaiser, lets off as the ref counts, then he runs corner to corner to KNEE Kaiser down! Knight brings Kaiser around, whips him to ropes, and then atomic drops! ROLLING- NO, Kaiser dodges! Knight dodges in return, but Kaiser GAMANGIRIS! Cover, TWO! Knight stays in this but Kaiser just grits his teeth and brings Knight up. Fireman’s carry, but Knight fights free to fire hands! Kaiser hits back, the fans fire up as they keep going! Knight gets the edge, he whips, then scoops to POWERSLAM! The fans are still torn but they’re hot all the same! B F- NO, Kaiser rolls Knight up, TWO! Knight stands, into a CHOP!

Kaiser reels Knight in, short arm LARIAT! The fans fire up as Kaiser PENALTY KICKS Knight! The fans fire up even more as Kaiser brings Knight up! B F- NO! Kaiser shoves free, fireman’s carry, ROLLING DEATH VALLEY! Cover, TWO!! Knight survives but Berlin is thunderous behind Kaiser! Kaiser brings Knight up, clinches, SIDE- NO, Knight slips free, wrenches, and hits a SIDE EFFECT! The fans boo but Knight cravats for the B F T!! Cover, Knight wins!

Winner: LA Knight, by pinfall (still WWE United States Champion)

Kaiser may have lost out, but he surely made his country proud! Kaiser will also be in the Intercontinental Championship Contender’s Tournament on Monday, will he use that as his second chance at a championship? As for Knight, where else will he take this title as he looks to prove he’s the best ever?

Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin VS Legado Del Fantasma!

While they were having a laugh at Santos Escobar’s expense, they won’t back down just because Angel & Berto are looking for a fight. Will #ACBC rock #LosGarza then roll on towards bigger and better? Or will they learn not to get on Legado’s bad side?

SmackDown returns and Legado makes their entrance, and they’re all in a serious, angry mood. The teams sort out, Apollo starts against Berto and the two tie up. Apollo headlocks, Berto powers up and out, then drops down to hurdle. Apollo leaps over Berto, hurdles him again, drops down, then DROPKICKS him down! The fans fire up and Apollo suplexes Berto. Apollo holds Berto up, the fans fire up as he keeps going, and then he SLAMS Berto down! Cover, TWO! Apollo brings Berto over, tags Corbin, and Corbin fires hands! The fans cheer Corbin but Berto kicks and CLUBS in return. Tag to Angel and Los Garza double whip.

Corbin ducks ‘n’ dodges, and he flips free of the double hip toss! Then he DOUBLE LARIATS! The fans fire up as Corbin storms after Angel. Corbin climbs, he rains down fists, and the fans count all the way to TEN, but Garza YANKS Corbin down! But Corbin URENAGES Angel in the corner! Then runs to LARIAT! The fans fire up and Santos is annoyed. But Angel RAMS Corbin into the corner! Tag to Berto, and the mugging begins! The ref reprimands but Angel GAMANGIRIS! Berto HOTSHOTS Corbin, sits him down, and Angel KNEES Corbin down! Angel taunts the fans but Berto pushes Corbin to a cover, TWO!

Corbin grabs Berto by the neck! And he SHOVES Berto up and out! Tag to Apollo, he mule kicks Angelo then runs in to BOOT! And then he RANAS! Angel bails out to regroup with Berto, and Corbin says go! Cover, Los Garza wins!

Winners: Legado Del Fantasma, by pinfall

It was 4v2, but Los Garza did it for #MTY, Monterey! Will nothing stop them from forcing their way to the top of SmackDown?

Solo Sikoa speaks.

“You know what’s gonna happen next week? The Bloodline VS DIY and The Street Profits. And the four of you, you will acknowledge me. So that you understand what you’re up against, the first day I took over The Bloodline, I sacrificed my own brother, Jimmy. Then I took out The Wise Man, Paul Heyman. Then, I took out Roman Reigns. Not only did I take out Roman Reigns, I took his ula fala. I took the right to be called The Tribal Chief. I took ownership of this family. Now imagine, if I’ve done this to my own family, imagine what the four of us are going to do to the four of you.”

Jacob Fatu wants to adorn Solo, but Solo says not yet. Because first warns Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, “I don’t give a damn which one of you wins. Because whoever is the champion after tomorrow, The Tribal Chief is coming for you.” Now Solo accepts the ula fala. Will nothing stop him and his Bloodline from becoming the ones that run SmackDown?

Nick Aldis is in the ring.

The fans cheer as SmackDown returns with its General Manager here, and he says it feels so good to be live in the lovely Uber Arena! Now, in just 24 hours, superstars from both Raw and SmackDown will compete in matches that could change the landscape of the WWE forever, as they bring you the latest Premium Live Event, Bash In Berlin. The fans cheer that! Aldis says Bash In Berlin is the culmination of unbelievably successful European tours. Aldis cues up a montage: From the Netherlands; to Belgium; to Oberhausen, Germany; to Stuttgart, Germany; Frankfurt, Germany; and of course, right here in Berlin!

The fans cheer that, and Aldis says on behalf of the WWE, and in German, he thanks everyone so very, very much. Now, to business! One of the most important matches- No, wait, as SmackDown GM, he knows it is THE most important match, the Undisputed WWE Championship is on the line! So at this time, allow him to introduce first, the challenger, Kevin Owens! Berlin fires up for KO as he makes his entrance. And of course, the champion, Cody Rhodes! Fans cheer as The American Nightmare makes his entrance, and they even sing along with the song, “WHOA~, OH~!” Cody gets his pyro, the meter shows triple digit decibels, and Cody continues to the ring.

Cody and Kevin get mics while the fans cheer, and Aldis wishes them both the best of luck tomorrow night. The floor is theirs. Aldis leaves the ring, the fans are torn, but eventually a song of, “Cody Rhodes~! Cody, Cody Rhodes~!” takes over. Kevin starts by saying “Cody… Whaddya wanna talk about? Get it? Because Cody always says that. Cody says in German, this championship right here! The North Star in their sport, and the fact that Cody and Kevin are going 1v1, and have sold out Berlin, Germany, for the Undisputed WWE Championship! The fans fire up for that! Kevin waits out the singing before he begins again.

They could talk about that title, sure, that is huge. But there is something Kevin wants to talk about, maybe Cody doesn’t. Let’s talk about that European tour. More specifically, something that happened to Cody’s knee. Cody says no, nothing happened. His knee is fine. But let’s talk about last week. Cody & Kevin beat two of the WWE’s biggest future stars in Austin Theory & Grayson Waller, that was great. The fans applaud, and Cody does want to ask about the ending. Kevin handed Cody his title, but to a lot of people, it looked like if Cody hadn’t turned when he did, he was gonna get hit in the back with it.

Cody is not accusing, but Kevin did bring it up. Given Kevin’s track record… Kevin says yeah, okay, c’mon. Kevin gets it, but like he also said last week, that video, that list of guys he “turned on,” everyone on it deserved it. Except for Kofi Kingston, so again, Kevin is very sorry. But hey, that doesn’t matter. Kevin and Cody have never had that relationship, they’ve always been close. Even before they met, Kevin’s relationship with Dusty, what makes Cody think Kevin would ever do that to him? Why would he ever do that? Why, indeed. Cody knows they’ve never spoken about this, but now seems a good time as ever.

Cody thinks maybe Kevin is angry with him. 2015, 2016, Cody “went out into the world,” went to a lot of places Kevin had been, walked with a lot of people Kevin knew. The whole change, the revolution, the wrestling renaissance going on, it feels like Kevin doesn’t get enough credit, and perhaps Cody gets too much. That is something Kevin might be mad about. The fans cheer now, and Kevin chuckles. Kevin says that is all very nice, but he isn’t sure what to say to that. Kevin says he’d never do that to Cody because he doesn’t need to. You know why? Because what Kevin was talking about earlier: Cody’s bad knee.

Hey, man, Kevin knows Cody got hurt. Because every night after, Kevin would get messages from people that Cody was limping, in the training room, hours at a time. Kevin knows Cody is hurt. So if Cody isn’t 100%, he- Cody stops Kevin there. 100%, his knee, what is this? IS this some kind of sabotage? Is this Kevin trying to find an excuse like he did three weeks ago? Does he still feel he doesn’t deser- Kevin stops Cody now, and says if Cody’s so fine, why didn’t he take a knee like he usually does during his entrance? The fans realize that’s true. Kevin says the reason he’s bringing this up is because yesterday, that was eight YEARS since the night Kevin won the Universal Championship.

Fans cheer, and Kevin says he can remember that night like it was yesterday. Kevin won the title, he should’ve been on top of the world, but people told him he didn’t deserve it. He was told he only had the title because of Triple H. That tainted that reign forever, to this day. Kevin is still bitter. So if Cody walks in NOT 100%, with only one good leg, what happens when Kevin beats him- When? Tainted victory? Is Kevin hearing himself? Cody’s knee is 100%, rock solid! So he is ready for Kevin tomorrow! It sounds like Kevin is talking with confidence, but this is anger. Kevin is angry because he knew what it meant for Cody to come back.

It meant Cody was going to blaze a path, leave people in the rearview mirror, friends included. he couldn’t take everyone with him! Kevin knew! WrestleMania 38, the biggest night in Kevin’s career, squaring off with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the very next day, Kevin had to share the spotlight with Cody> Cody would be angry, too. But Cody says he loves Kevin. The fans cheer that! Cody doesn’t have many friends but Kevin is one. Someone once asked Cody this that Cody is asking Kevin. Cody will defeat Kevin tomorrow, no tainted victory about it, and when that happens… “Will we still be friends?”

The fans like where this is going. They chant “YES! YES! YES!” but Kevin’s look might say otherwise. Kevin drops his mic, whispers something to Cody, then leaves. He didn’t answer, but will his actions speak volumes when it is time to Bash In Berlin?

Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin regroup backstage.

They were close tonight, but then it fell apart, and they don’t get why. But then Austin Theory & Grayson Waller walk over. Waller mocks “these two losers” for having no charisma, no chemistry. Theory told Waller that Crews & Corbin aren’t even half the tag team A-Town Down Under is! Theory’s face clearly says Waller is selling him out, but Corbin says if that’s true, say it to his face. Theory says fine, he said that. Corbin says he will beat the brakes off him! Crews has Corbin cool off, and Theory tells Waller not to do that. Then he tells Waller to stop, because he’s talking. Terrence Crawford knocks Theory out, and why? Because Waller was talking!

And now Waller’s calling out Corbin & Crews, telling them they’re falling apart? Nah, A-Town Down Under’s falling apart. Waller apologizes, but all his mates and family are back home. It’s just what they do in Australia. But for real, Theory is his best friend. He is sorry for not treating him that way. They good? Theory says yeah, and they shake hands. But will ATDU be able to hold things together to head back for the WWE Tag Team Championships?

Giovanni Vinci speaks.

“Inspire, rise above, and win with honor. This is my purpose. This is not my return. It is my arrival. Soon, everyone will remember my name. Vinci. Giovanni Vinci.” Who will be inspired when The Pride of Italy arrives on SmackDown?

Andrade VS Carmelo Hayes!

It seems the Best of… who knows series continues! El Idolo is still up 2-1, will he finally leave H1M behind at 3-1? Or will Melo keep going until he’s the one in the lead?

SmackDown returns and Melo makes his entrance. Melo dares Andrade to come bring it to the ramp! Andrade doesn’t fall for the bait, so Melo rushes in! The bell rings and these two fire hands! The fans fire up as they go around, and Melo pushes Andrade away. Andrade BOOTS then TOSSES Melo out. Andrade runs, goes up and up and TORNILLO PLANCHAS! The fans fire up again and Andrade CHOPS Melo. Andrade puts Melo in, storms up and kicks again. Andrade whips, Melo springboards for the FLYING LARIAT! Melo goes up a corner but Andrade trips him! Melo is stuck in a Tree of Woe, and Andrade goes up!

Andrade stops Melo from hitting back, to then APRON WOE STOMP!! The fans are thunderous while Melo sputters and Andrade hobbles. “This is Awesome!” as SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns again and Melo stomps away on Andrade. Melo grabs a leg, “WOO~!” but Andrade BOOTS him away. The fans rally, Andrade rises, and Andrade then ROCKS Melo with forearm after forearm! And an ELBOW! Melo kicks but Andrade blocks to DRAGON SCREW! Things speed up, Andrade dodges to then CLOBBER Melo with a forearm! Melo writhes but Andrade kips up! The fans fire up, and Andrade goes to a corner. Andrade climbs, and MOONSAULT DOUBLE! Cover, TWO!! Melo survives and Andrade is a bit frustrated. Melo goes to a corner, the fans rally, and Andrade pounds the mat.

The fans clap along with Andrade as he powers up, “SI! SI! SI!” Andrade goes corner to corner, but Melo is there for the FIRST 48! Andrade falls into a corner, and Melo mocks him with the thigh smacks! Melo goes corner to corner, he is CIEN SHADOWS! Cover, TWO!! Andrade survives Melo’s take on his move, and Melo hobbles up. Melo drags Andrade up, CHOPS, but Andrade huffs and puffs. Andrade shoves Melo so Melo CHOPS again! And again, and again! Melo CLUBS Andrade, reels him in, and talks some smack. But Andrade snap suplexes! That’s Uno Amigo! But Melo slips out at dos! Andrade switches, rolls Melo, deadlifts and POWERBOMBS!! Cover, TWO!!

The fans fire up and Andrade rises up. Melo flounders, Andrade stomps him to the corner. The fans sing for Andrade and he slaps the thighs. Andrade goes corner to corner, but he sees the top buckle is missing! Melo SUPERKICKS! A distraction and another interception, Melo covers! TWO!! Andrade survives, but Melo stomps him. Melo runs, goes up, but Andrade catches him at ropes! Andrade goes up, to INVERTED SPANISH FLY!! Cover, TWO!! Melo survives, Andrade is too tired to react, but the fans again say “This is Awesome!” as SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns again, and Andrade has Melo up top. But Melo SLAPS Andrade! And SLAPS! And SLAPS! Andrade drops back, but Melo brings him back up! Only for Andrade to turn things around, SUPER FALL AWAY SLAM!! Both men are down and Berlin is thunderous again! Andrade crawls to a cover, TWO!! Melo survives again and the fans are loving this! Andrade and Melo stir, then sit up. Melo fires a forearm, but Andrade SLAPS! Melo forearms, Andrade SLAPS again! Andrade then shots around, but Melo switches, shoves, and rolls back! Andrade boot feints to ELBOW!! Cover, TWO!!

Andrade is beside himself while Melo is in a daze. Andrade drags Melo around, rolls him to a corner and CHOPS! Andrade puts Melo up top, CHOPS him again, then climbs up after Melo. The fans fire up as Andrade goes to the very top, but Melo slips under to TRIP Andrade! Andrade hits the bare buckle!! Melo uses that to his advantage, and he goes up! NOTHING BUT NET!! Cover, Melo wins!!

Winner: Carmelo Hayes, by pinfall; series is now 2-2

The bare buckle was a complete fluke, but Melo uses it to his advantage! He gets the game winner, and now we’re all tied up! Will we need just one more? Or does this only end when the score favors H1M?

The StrongEST Duo speaks.

They are rewatching Clash at the Castle, and The EST says, “Let’s be real. This was more than just a match for you, and I get it. You come in with big hype, big expectations, you feel unstoppable, making headlines, everyone’s your best friend. But… Then a couple things go wrong. You start to doubt yourself. I’ve been there. But failure’s a part of the process, and you can’t be afraid to fail. We are not here by accident. We are either up, or getting up.” The Storm adds that, “We define our own legacy. Because the fight isn’t in the ring. It’s here (your mind), and it’s here (your heart).” This is their dream, so is she ready to make it a reality? Is she ready to take back the titles?

They both tell each other, “Let’s go!” They are here to finish what they started. They are coming back for THEIR tag team titles! “It’s inevitable.” Will Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill make those promises into a reality? Or will the wicked witches, Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, find another way to survive these forces of nature?

WWE Women’s Championship Street Fight: Nia Jax VS Mia Yim!

The Irresistible Queen of the Ring may have had her notes about the celebration Tiffany Stratton threw for her, but she most certainly did NOT appreciate Michin busting in there and busting it up! Will Nia make Mia pay with blood, sweat and tears? Or will the Head Baddie in Charge finally be a champion?

SmackDown returns and Mia walks ‘n’ talks to gorilla. “I’ve fought my whole life for this. Every battle, every war. And it’s all led me hear to Berlin. Now, you can like me or you can hate me, but I promise you, after tonight, when I become the new Women’s Champion, you will not forget me. You’re about to understand that Michin is not who I am, it’s what I am.” And The Head Baddie is bringing a shopping cart of goodies! Will Mia use every single one of those in beating down and dethroning the Queen of the Ring?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and it’s time to get nuts!

The bell rings, Mia dodges to already SMACK away with a kendo stick! Nia bails out, Mia chases her, and SMACKS, but Nia blocks the stick! Nia stares Mia down, pokes her with the stick, and now Mia backs off. Nia swings, Mia ducks, and Nia smacks post! Mia POSTS Nia, grabs the stick back, and fans want tables. Mia brings Nia into ropes first to SMACK her, then SPIKE RANA! Cover, TWO! Nia is still in this but she clutches her neck. Mia goes out, brings out more kendo sticks, then brings out a chair! The Queen is victorious, but she’s not done! Nia CHUCKS pieces of table at the can, SMACKS away on it with a kendo stick, and only lets off as the ref gets between her and Mia. Who will be the next to feel her wrath?

My Thoughts:

A great SmackDown here, as have all these go-home episodes been. Especially when we’re talking these international shows, Berlin was another great crowd. I should’ve realized Kaiser would accept the open challenge, and even though Knight was going to retain no matter what, it was a good move. The fans got to cheer both guys one way or another, and it was a great showing for Kaiser. I almost thought Giovanni Vinci was going to accept the challenge, but no, he’s Italian. He’ll have his debut next week, as his newest promo reminded us, and he’ll surely start on a story towards the US Championship.

Good videos to recap things and hype Bash In Berlin, and we also got a good promo from Bianca & Jade to hype up the tag title match. Still not sure the win the belts back, even as great as they both are, but we’ll have to wait and see. Good promo from Solo, with the best detail being he told Jacob to wait with the ula fala. Solo most certainly will make his move for the title after Bash In Berlin on the way to Bad Blood. And great promo segment from Cody and Kevin to add some final heat to their title match. Kevin trying to use house shows as part of kayfabe is brilliant, and Cody brushing that off while subtly bringing up his connection to The Young Bucks and everything he did outside of WWE is also good, this is going to be a really good match just on story alone.

Very good tag match from #ACBC and #LosGarza, and I like that they are getting that latter team name going. The whole time Angel & Berto were on their on, this gimmick of theirs with the claw mark tattoo being from NXT, no idea why they didn’t have that name by now. Now, obviously Legado cheated to win, Crews & Corbin face a crisis of confidence, but then A-Town Down Under has to pile on. But with that promo, I do like Theory calling Waller on his trash talk and getting Theory in trouble. The dysfunction was smoothed over, but that’s just another sign they’re getting close to breaking up, just not sure what the last straw will be.

Awesome fourth match from Andrade and Melo, but I had a feeling Melo would win to make this a tied series. Maybe they make the fifth one the final, but they could easily make this an official best of seven, the final one appointing the winner as #1 contender to a title. That winner could even face LA Knight for the US Championship at Bad Blood. And then, a great Street Fight match for the WWE Women’s Championship. Good promo from Mia beforehand, I do like that they’re doing these to lead into important matches. But I figured Mia was going to lose this. For one, this parallels DIY losing despite having a walk ‘n’ talk promo, and also I just felt how Tiff was going to show up. She wants to cash in, Nia scares her into not doing it, and Nia retains.

Bayley being back is great, hopefully she can get some charisma going, she was a little subdued when she was champion. But she can feud with Tiffany on the side of Nia waiting on a new challenger, maybe she and Mia stick together, and you can even throw Chelsea Green & Piper Niven into the mix to build various stories at once. Maybe Piper finds her way to being a challenger for Nia, making it powerhouse VS powerhouse, and opening the window for Tiffany to try another cash-in.

My Score: 8.8/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Fuego Del Sol VS Wheeler Yuta!

Lucha night opens with a hot start as the Fire of the Sun returns to ROH, but so does The Decoder! Will Fuego Del Sol get one up on a former ROH Pure Champion turned current AEW World Trios Champion? Or will Yuta do the Death Riders proud in Houston?

Houston cheers on the Texas star, and Fuego offers the Code of Honor. Yuta reaches out, but then SLAPS Fuego! The fans boo and the bell rings, Yuta slips around to CLUB Fuego down! Yuta mocks the fans cheering on Fuego, then scoops him for a SLAM and SENTON! The fans boo but Yuta brings Fuego up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO, but Yuta holds onto the leg! Yuta taunts Fuego, but Fuego kicks at him! Yuta lets go and the fans rally up. Yuta runs up, Fuego ELBOWS him away, then goes up, up and FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up as Fuego then DROPKICKS Yuta down!

Yuta staggers up, Fuego SLAPS him! But Yuta LARIATS in return! The fans boo but Yuta rains down fists! And then stops, to rain down more fists! The fans boo but Yuta soaks that up while he “kicks dirt” on Fuego. Yuta stands Fuego up, CHOPS him, then has him in a corner. Yuta CHOPS Fuego again, the fans boo, but Yuta whips corner to corner hard! Fuego staggers forward, Yuta says they ain’t done yet. Yuta whips Fuego to the corner again, then FLAPJACKS on the rebound! Yuta adds a basement DROPKICK! The fans boo but Yuta soaks up heat. Yuta hits a spinning toehold, then has a DEATHLOCK!

Fuego endures and Yuta mockingly asks if he’ll give up. Fuego refuses to give in, and he SLAPS Yuta! So Yuta bridges and puts on more pressure! Yuta shows off by not even using his hands, but Fuego fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! Yuta lets go at 4, and he reminds the ref, “I have ’til five!” The fans boo Yuta parodying Bryan Danielson, then Yuta kicks Fuego around. Yuta eggs Fuego on, so Fuego ROCKS him! And ROCKS him! And again, and again, and again! But Yuta gets under the big haymaker! Yuta back suplexes, but Fuego lands out! Fuego dodges Yuta to then springboard QUEBRADA! Down goes Yuta!

The fans fire up as Fuego kips up and SUPERKICKS! Yuta sputters, Fuego runs and STEP-UP DOUBLE STOMPS! The fans fire up again as Fuego climbs a corner! Yuta stands, Fuego MISSILE- NO, Yuta gets under and comes back, BUSAIKU KNEE! Cover, Yuta wins!

Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall

Another thing he took from The American Dragon is that big knee, and Yuta takes the victory. Yuta sits Fuego up, and thinks about Hammer ‘n’ Anvil elbows, but he decides not to. Because he gets an even more sadistic idea! Yuta looks under the ring, and he brings out a steel chain! Yuta threatens the ref, then he goes to Fuego! The fans boo but Yuta hooks Fuego’s legs up, then uses the chain to go up, up and away, ROMERO SPECIAL!! Yuta taunts Fuego but Fuego is coughing up blood! Yuta lets Fuego go, the fans boo, but Yuta mockingly gives the Code of Honor handshake. Yuta no longer has honor, but will someone find a way to humble him?

Rachael Ellering VS Abadon!

The Queen of Strong Smile is feeling good being in Houston, ready to bring that Comet energy. However, she’s up against the Living Dead Girl, who brings a very different vibe. Will Rachael learn why everyone fears Abadon? Or will Rachael’s smile see her through?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, but uh, Abadon doesn’t let go. Rachael tries to get free, and now it is a tug-o-war. The fans rally, Rachael reels Abadon into a headlock, but Abadon BITES Rachael’s hand! The ref reprimands, Abadon lets go, and Abadon doesn’t get what’s wrong. Abadon runs up on Rachael but Rachael gets around to waistlock. Abadon switches, but Rachael goes to ropes to buck the O’Conner! Rachael CLOBBERS Abadon, but Abadon sits up! The fans rally, Rachael is frustrated, and then runs up. Abadon gets around, trips Rachael, then runs to basement dropkick! Rachael flounders to a corner and the fans rally again.

Abadon aims from a corner, runs in at Rachael, but Racahel ELBOWS Abadon away! Abadon says nuh-uh, comes back, but runs into a BOOT! Rachael runs and UPPERCUTS Abadon down! The fans fire up and Rachael aims from a corner. Rachael calls for the “SQUISH~!” and runs up, SENTON onto knees! Abadon avoids disaster and stalks Rachael to the apron. Abadon CLUBS Rachael, pushes her onto the apron, and springboards for a GUILLOTINE LEG DROP! The fans fire up and Abadon pushes Rachael into the ring. Abadon runs corner to corner for a METEORA! Abadon pushes Rachael to a cover, TWO!

Abadon is annoyed but brushes it off. Abadon drags Rachael up, but Rachael fights the suplex! Rachael wrenches out, trips Abadon, and high stacks, ONE!! Rachael ROCKS Abadon, then tries again. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up for the “MD Collapse” and Rachael aims again. SQUISH~ SENTON hits! Cover, TWO! Abadon survives and Rachael is a bit surprised. Rachael throws off the headband, double checks her teeth, and the fans duel. Rachael CHOPS Abadon at the ropes, then ROCKS Abadon with a forearm! Rachael whips but Abadon blocks! So Rachel CHOPS again! Rachael whips, Abadon grabs ropes, and laughs!

Rachael runs up, Abadon ELBOWS and CUTTERS! Then BLACK DAHLIA!! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall

Abadon continues to be terrifying, as well as victorious. Will the ROH Women’s Division, and especially the champions, have to watch their backs?

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

12 Man Tag: The Premier Athletes & The Frat House VS Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs!

Instead of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Tony Nese has the mic to tell Bobby Cruise to shut up, “no one wants to listen to your stupid voice.” Nese then tells the “fat boys and fat girls” of Houston, Nese & Daivari couldn’t think of a better partner for this match than an athlete that makes every single one of them put to shame! Yes, it’s SMART MARK himself! Wait, seriously? Sterling takes the mic to say that’s right, he is still here to make sure that the losers of Texas can take part in their winning cheer. So please, get this right. When he says, “Athletes,” you say, “Rule!” NOTHING ELSE! Hands in, boys. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Gottee!

But with that, Dante & Darius Martin enter, accompanied by Leila Grey. Then Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd enter, and last but not least, Texas’ own, Marshall & Ross Von Erich! The massive teams sort out, and Darius starts against Nese. The fans rally up and Darius circles with Nese. Nese says wait, wait! He knows what the fans are here to see. Nese flexes, but the fans boo. Nese shouts, “ATHLETES!” The fans respond, “SUCK!” Nese and Darius circle, but then Nese kicks low! Nese bumps Darius off buckles, then tags in Daivari. “We’ll show you who sucks!” Nese & Daivari fire hands in the corner while the fans boo.

The ref counts, The Premier Athletes stop, and they both shout, “ATHLETES!” Again, the fans say, “SUCK!” Daivari tags Griff and they mug Darius. Griff ROCKS Darius, has him in a corner, then whips corner to corner. Darius goes up and over, rolls and arm-drags, then he DROPKICKS! The fans cheer, and Darius whips Griff into Dante’s BOOT! Tag to Dante, Darius CHOPS, Dante trips Griff, and Darius adds DOUBLE STMOPS! Griff scrambles, tag to Jameson, but Dante arm-drags Jameson! Dante keeps the armlock, he tags in Ross, and Ross wrenches to a wristlock. Ross YANKS the arm, then tags Marshall.

The Von Erichs double whip Jameson, then Marshall sends Ross in, FLYING BOOT! FLYING LARIAT and then Marshall snapmares Jameson for Ross’s PENALTY KICK! STANDING MOONSAULT and Marshall covers, TWO! Marshall fires the fans up, then hauls Jameson up to headlock. Tag to Truth and he wrenches Jameson. The fans rally but Jameson fires hands! Jameson whips, Daivari gets a cheap shot in, but Truth DECKS Daivari! Only for Vance to CLOBBER Truth! The ref has to keep Truth’s team back, so he missed all that! Jameson stomps Truth, tags Vance, and Vance covers, TWO!

Vance ROCKS Truth, has him in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Daivari, he CHOPS Truth, then he tags Nese. The Premier Athletes mug Truth with haymaker after haymaker, but the ref is still too busy keeping Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs back! Nese drags Truth up, and he tags in Sterling!? The fans boo but Sterling gets to throw hands on Truth! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling drags Truth back, anchors a leg, and tags in Vance. Vance stomps Truth, tags Jameson, and Jameson tags Griff. Vance puts Truth in a corner, Griff sends Jameson in to LARIAT! Vance adds a BOOT, and then Griff BOOTS Truth down! Cover, TWO!

Griff tags Vance back in, they mug Truth, and Vance keeps Truth from the corner. Vance suplexes, covers, TWO! Truth stays in this but Vance stays on him with a chinlock. Truth endures, the fans rally up, and Truth stands. Truth fires body shots, but Vance CLUBS him! Vance whips, Truth ducks ‘n’ dodges, DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! The fans fire up again as Truth and Vance crawl. Truth pushes past Vance, but Leila has to get out of the way as The Premier Athletes & Frat House all run up! They all YANK Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs off the apron, leaving Truth stranded! But at least Truth’s team fights back!

The fans fire up, but Truth turns around into a BOOT! Truth ends up on the apron, Vance runs up, and Vance SPEARS Truth onto the entire cluster! The fans fire up as Vance drags Truth into the ring. Cover, TWO! The fans rally up as Truth stays in this. The teams regroup, Vance whips Truth to the corner, but Truth BOOTS back! Truth fires hands on everyone else, and then storms up, but Vance keeps him from his corner! Vance whips and catches Truth to a SLEEPER, but Truth hits a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up as Truth crawls! Leila coaches Truth, hot tag to Turbo! And to Sterling!? Sterling panics, he wants nothing to do with Turbo!

Jameson runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Griff runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Nese runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Daivari runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Turbo then scoops and SLAMS Nese! And he scoops and SLAMS Daivari! The fans fire up as Turbo ELBOWS Daivari in a corner, headlocks, BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO on The Premier Athletes! The fans are thunderous as Turbo flexes, but Sterling slithers in! Sterling CLUBS Turbo on the back, the fans boo, but Turbo just frowns and turns around. Sterling apologizes but Turbo grabs him by his shirt. Only for Jameson to get in and scoop SLAM Turbo! Jameson shouts, “Mark Sterling! You sonova b*tch!”

Jameson and Sterling look to parody the handshake, but Truth CLOBBERS Jameson! Sterling again apologizes, but Turbo stands back up! Sterling backs up into Turbo, panics, but Truth scoops Sterling! SLAM! The fans fire up as we get the real deal! Except Nese & Daivari get in! Wait, Marshall & Ross get them first, with DOUBLE IRON CLAWS! “Turbo Floyd! You sonova b*tch!” DOUBLE ELBOW DROP on Sterling! And then Sterling flounders up, into a scoop, but Griff & Vance get in! Top Flight DOUBLE SUPERKICK them back out! Truth runs, TOTAL RECALL!! Dante runs, Darius sets up, FLIGHT IN MOTION for Griff! Turbo covers Sterling, #TopVonRunners win!

Winners: Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs, by pinfall

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes this win as the super team everybody loves stands tall! But with The Von Erichs holding gold with Dustin Rhodes, will The Sons of Texas soon be everyone’s top priority?

MXM Collection speaks.

ROH Media found Mansoor & Mason Madden after their loss at ROH Global Wars: Australia, but they still had their remodeled ROH World Tag title belt. As such, they act triumphant and victorious because they “successfully defended” their ROH World Tag Team Championship. Because as you can see, they still have the belt! Shoutout to Dustin Rhodes, he is a great fellow tag team champion, he really tested MXM. But then they ran away with this here title, and there is nothing anyone can say about it! Fingertip touch and MXM heads out, but they do know possession is NOT nine-tenths of the law in ROH, right?

Billie Starkz VS Hyan!

As if tensions weren’t already high between these two, Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths is being belittled because she lost to Harley Cameron on the Jericho Cruise while The Fallen Goddess is still ROH Women’s World Champion after beating Alex Windsor in Australia. The Athena World Tour returns home to Texas, but will Billie make “Boss” proud? Or will even disappointment be bigger in Texas?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and the fans rally up for Hyan. Billie is annoyed, the two tie up, and Billie wrenches to a wristlock. Hyan cartwheels, wrenches to a wristlock, but Billie rolls, rolls back, then trips Hyan. Billie flexes, the fans are torn, but then Billie throws Hyan down by her hair! Billie talks smack on Hyan, Hyan runs up, but Billie dodges to waistlock and shove. Billie then bypasses Hyan to sunset flip. Hyan rolls through, but Billie basement ENZIGIRIS! Billie then drags Hyan up to waistlock. Hyan fires elbows, runs to ropes, but Billie holds on! Billie CLUBS Hyan’s arms from the ropes, to STRAITJACKET GERMAN!

Billie scowls, then she stalks Hyan to the corner. Billie stomps a mudhole in, but the ref counts. Billie tells him to back off! The fans boo, but Billie asks, “What do you want from me!?” Billie runs in, but Hyan dodges and Billie POSTS herself! The fans fire up, Hyan storms over, and Hyan brings Billie up to suplex high and hard! The fans fire up and Hyan feels that energy! Hyan runs to SPLASH in the corner! Hyan keeps moving, but Billie ELBOWS her away. And BOOTS her! Billie goes up, Hyan stops the boot, but not the rebound ENZIGIRI! Billie goes up top, leaps, but Hyan gets under! Red Velvet speaks.

When it comes to her by-any-means-necessary way of winning, The Chef knows we all want to know “Why? Why? I have been on a roll lately. The hottest of my career. Why? Why? I’m starting to get real tired of the same questions. Why? I’m just getting started.” When and where will Red Velvet serve up another L fresh from the kitchen?

Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
