Mark Briscoe speaks.
“It’s the New Year, but the only thing I’m bringing new is the fact that I’m cranking it up, baby! The violence! The intensity! All that! Tonight, Daniel Garcia, I’m coming for that TNT title! Dax Harwood says that for the first time ever, Collision is on both MAX and TNT. And three days after an absolute war on Dynamite, Rated FTR makes their Collision debut. And it is against Jericho & The Learning Tree. Cash Wheeler says more like The Ugly Trees. Or maybe they fell out of an ugly tree, hit every ugly branch, then got run over by an ugly bus driven by an ugly bus driver, full of ugly kids. Well, that said, #TopGuysOut. But will things get ugly here on the first Saturday night of 2025?
AEW TNT Championship: Daniel Garcia VS Mark Briscoe!
A rematch from the 2024 Continental Classic, Red Death wants to redeem himself against the Sussex County Chicken. Will Garcia make sure he’s still the Face of TNT in the New Year? Or will Briscoe take the intensity to the MAX?

The Death Riders speak.
Specifically, Wheeler Yuta tells Jay White that he had no business interfering with the main event match on Dynamite! But now, he is a marked man! White is Yuta’s target, because nobody, and he means NOBODY- Moxley has Yuta calm down, and he brings up FTR. Moxley has always had respect men who are a defining tag team in their generation. In Moxley’s generation. Taking old school to the next level, like their generation does. They are representative of an artform that is tag team competition. Two of the toughest SOBs East of the Mississippi. But FTR crossed a line interfering in Moxley’s business.
FTR paid a price, but as far as Moxley’s concerned, that was the end of it. Then what’d FTR do? They created a whole new mess! And they didn’t come alone, they brought a “friend,” if that’s what we’re calling it. What do we know about “Cope,” Adam Copeland? A legend, an innovator, perennial champion, and he has the gold to prove it. Reigns, belts, trophies, whatever you want. Spent nearly a decade on the shelf with a broken neck, almost extinct. But he defied the laws of nature to come to a new, more unforgiving world, in the most unforgiving sport in the world. Cope came up the hard way. Been through everything, seen everything.
But he’s always been a frontrunner. This new world, this AEW of the future… In Moxley’s world, survival comes at a cost, so Cope will have to become something new. If Rated FTR wants to keep going down this road, Moxley won’t stop them. But he promises them that they will find nothing good down this road. Hell on Earth, if you will. Moxley leads The Death Riders away, but will the New Year be the end for their enemies?

Solo soaks up the heat while he mocks the Fargo Strut. Solo CLUBS Jarrett, ROCKS him again, but the fans rally for Double J. Solo laughs, whips Jarrett again, but Jarrett reverses and CLOBBERS Solo! And CLOBBERS him again! Solo blocks a kick but not the ENZIGIRI! Jarrett then runs to STRADDLE ATTACK! The fans fire up as we get the real Fargo Strut! Solo runs up, Jarrett dodges, and then Jarrett BACKDROPS him! Solo writhes but Jarrett brings him up.
Jarrett whips, Solo reverses, but Jarrett reverses back to KNEE low, and THE STROKE! But that’s not all, THE STROKE ENCORE! Cover, Jarrett wins!

The Last Outlaw puts this one to bed fast, he is all tuned up and ready to go for next week’s Casino Gauntlet! Will Jarrett earn himself that golden ticket to Maximum Carnage in Cincinnati? Will Moxley make Jarrett regret sticking around another year?

Backstage interview with “Cope,” Adam Copeland.
Lexy Nair is with the Rated R Superstar and says Rated FTR takes on The Learning Tree, Chris Jericho and his group. But she wants to take us back to Worlds End, seeing him and FTR target The Death Riders. Why? Cope says it is real simple: You attack his friends, now they have a problem. Moxley and his Death Riders, they threw Darby Allin down a flight of stairs in the Hammerstein Ballroom, we haven’t seen Darby in the week since, no telling when he will be back. The Death Riders also attacked FTR, very dear friends of Cope’s. Therefore, we have a problem. And there’s also the fact that Jon Moxley is the AEW World Champion.
And while Cope was gone, he heard Moxley say that no one here wants to be AEW World Champion. Well, Cope wasn’t here, but he’s an ELEVEN-TIME World Champion! And it’s time to make that a dirty dozen! Cope won’t hide that title in a bag or a briefcase, hide it in a pouch, he will wear it around his waist proudly, like a world champion should! So Moxley, it is- Wait, Chris Jericho walks over. The ROH World Champion hears Cope talking about Moxley, but don’t forget what he has in front of him tonight, here on Collision. Because while Cope was gone, Jericho became a world champion for a NINTH time!
Jericho is El Nueve, the King of New York, and The Learning Tree! Cope has Jericho stop there. Jericho doesn’t need to be all fired up, because Cope gets it. Cope respects Jericho. Hell, Cope kinda likes Jericho. They have a long history. In fact, this is the fourth decade that they’ll compete against each other in, and it’s been about 15 years since they faced off. Jericho says wow, four decades, 15 years. He doesn’t remember any of that. Seems their “relationship” meant more to Cope than it did to Jericho. Because all Jericho remembers was Cope getting hurt all the time. Okay, Cope will take that “liking” thing back.
Because now Cope can only remember that Jericho’s an A-hole, and still is. See you out there. Cope heads out, and Jericho says as far as he’s concerned. Cope’s a Dope! Sick burn. Jericho leaves, having complimented himself, but will Cope add insult to injury when Rated FTR chops down The Learning Tree?
Toni Storm VS Deonna Purrazzo w/ Taya Valkyrie!
The Rockstar didn’t quite get The Virtuosa’s insult when Deonna mocked Toni’s apparent memory loss. However, Deonna also vowed to make this a night no one will forget. Alex Marvez was on standby as Christopher Daniels argued with Hangman Page given how Dynamite went down. Daniels says he keeps telling Hangman he is on Hangman’s side! All this anger is useless! Hangman could be world champion, and Daniels believes in him! Oh, Daniels bElIeVeS~ in him? What’s that even supposed to do for Hangman? It doesn’t mean s*it to Hangman! Y’know what Hangman needs? Daniels should’ve been at Worlds End, where was he? And what was Daniels supposed to do for Hangman? That was a Fatal 4 Way! Hangman says Daniels could’ve done something! Anything! But he got NOTHING.
In fact, what has Daniels given anyone? What has he given AEW? What has he given wrestling? When Hangman looks at Daniels, he sees an old man clinging on to a sport that left him behind a long time ago. Understand? And if Daniels hasn’t already lost his mind to old age, he would’ve hung it up five years ago when he still had an ounce of dignity! Hangman then SLAPS Daniels! The Fallen Angel seethes, but Hangman says, “That’s what I thought.” Daniels shouts at Hangman and TACKLES him! Daniels fires fists, HEADBUTTS away on Hangman, and even busts himself open with those! AEW shares more footage from after Dynamite.
AEW Media caught up with Anthony Bowens to ask him about losing to Hurt Syndicate. Bowens says don’t ask him, ask Max Caster. Caster hobbles along and the reporter asks him what happened. Caster says what we witnessed was The Best Wrestler Alive in action, but a 2v1 attack by the Hurt Syndicate, a cowardly move by a couple of cowards. Caster said it before and will say it again, they don’t want The Syndicate here. Caster may have lost that battle but- Bowens returns to shout at Caster, “Are you kidding me?!” The Best Wrestler Alive BS got him exactly what he deserved out there!
And Caster has been annoying the hell out of Bowens, pissing him off, for MONTHS! By the way, that’s why Billy doesn’t even show up because he doesn’t wanna deal with Caster. Caster says F Billy! CASTER is the leader of The Acclaimed! He has to deal with Billy! Bowens gets mad and says the only reason he hasn’t punched Caster in the face is because Billy asked him not to. Oh? Then keep listening to Billy. Bowens storms off, is The Acclaimed going to fall apart before the year’s even begun?

Dax & Cash are honored to be standing in front of tag team greatness! The greatest tag team of all time, and for once, he doesn’t mean FTR. Well, don’t think they forgot about FTR dropping Ricky Morton on his head. Dax promises Ricky, that was a dark place in their lives. FTR has The Outrunners calm down, and Ricky’s pretty sure these guys weren’t even born in 1982. Aw c’mon, they were just really young then. Yeah, Youngest Men Alive! And they’re here to collect! Well, Ricky isn’t sure what to say, but how about, “We’re sorry.” FTR says just bury the hatchet, guys. The 80s were a long time ago. Turbo tells Ricky & Robbie, “You son of a b*tch!” They all shake hands, and FTR says #TopGuysOut!

Six Man Tag: #RatedFTR VS The Learning Tree!
Adam Copeland is making sure his return is a strong one, going after not just The Death Riders for all their crimes, but also accepting the challenge from Bryan Keith, Big Bill & Chris Jericho. Will the Learning Tree find a way to take the Top Guys out? Or will Jericho have to cope with a loss to Rated FTR?
The trios sort out and the fans rally for FTR while Cope starts against Jericho. The two circle, approach, but then Jericho backs off to tag in The Bad Apple. The fans boo but Keith and Cope circle now. Cope and Keith tie up, Keith waistlocks then headlocks. Cope powers up and out, drops down, then hurdles, to then DROPKICK! The fans fire up as Cope tags Dax, then Dax tags Cash. Cash hangs back while Dax & Cope double whip Keith, then Cash slingshot SHOULDER TACKLES Keith! The fans fire up as Cash covers, TWO! Cash UPPERCUTS Keith to the corner, wrenches Keith then tags Dax. But Keith gets away!
FTR stands down while Keith tags Bill. The fans are torn as Bill circles with Dax. Bill and Dax tie up, but Dax goes for a leg! Bill hops to a corner but Dax RAMS him again and again! Dax puts the leg on ropes, KICKS away on it, then pulls! The erf counts, Dax lets off, and Bill TOSSES Dax to the corner! Bill CHOPS Dax, and Dax dangles out of the ring! Bill then stands Dax up to CLUB him in the chest! Bill BODY SHOTS Dax, then whips corner to corner. Dax hits buckles hard, Bill storms up, but Dax drops down! Dax trips Bill, drags him to the corner, and he SWINGS the big leg into the post! And then SWINGS it again!
Keith runs up but Dax DECKS him! Jericho steps up, the ref stops him, and Dax slides into the ring. Dax brings Bill over, tags Cash, and FTR double whips. Bill RAMS both men, DECKS Cash then DECKS Dax! Then Bill CHOKE SLAMS Cash onto Dax! Both FTR writhes and Bill soaks up cheers and jeers while Collision goes picture in picture.
Bill stands over Cash, then steps on him at the ropes! The ref counts, Bill counts along, and steps off at 4. Bill “apologizes” to the ref, but Jericho gets cheap shots in! Cope protests but Bill CHOKES Cash on ropes! The ref counts, Bill lets off at 4 again, and now Keith gets a cheap shot in! Bill drags Cash up, but Dax CHOPS Keith! Bill tags Jericho and Jericho bumps Cash off buckles. Jericho fires lariat after lariat into the corner, then puts him up top. Jericho CHOPS Cash, climbs up, and Jericho waves hi to the fans. Then Jericho rains down fists on Cash, going all the way to NUEVE before the SUPER STEINER!
Jericho taunts Cope, stomps Cash, then taunts the fans. Jericho drags Cash up, CLUBS him down, stomps him around, then tags Keith. Keith & Jericho mug Cash, and Keith stalks Cash. Keith CLAWS Cash’s back, then pushes him down to drop a KNEE on the chest! Cover, TWO! Cash stays in this but the ref has to keep Dax back. Keith taunts Dax before he clamps onto Cash with a chinlock. Cash endures, the fans rally up, and Cash fights to his feet. Cash powers up and out, but Keith reverses to whip. Cash ducks ‘n’ dodges then catches Keith to a POWERSLAM! Both men are down and Collision returns to single picture.
The fans rally up as Cash and Keith both crawl, hot tags to Jericho and COPE! The fans fire up as Jericho sees he’s stuck now. Cope and Jericho circle, the fans are losing their minds already, and Jericho sighs. Jericho offers a handshake? Cope takes it, and then Jericho CHOPS! Cope CHOSP! The fans “WOO~!” as the CHOPS keep going here in Flair Country! The CHOPS keep going, but then Jericho pokes Cope’s eyes! Jericho whips but Cope CLOBBERS him! And FLAPJACKS! Bill stays in this so Cash uses ropes for a TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!
Bill is still tougher than all that, so Cash drags him over. Tag to Dax and FTR puts Bill in a corner. They hoist Bill up top, then they both go up after him. But Bill fires off big hands! Bill DECKS Cash, DECKS Dax, then adjusts, only for Dax to ROCK him! Dax fires more hands, then climbs up. Cash goes to another corner, as does Cope! Dax brings Bill up to SUPERPLEX! That’s the Power, here’s The GLORY from Cash! MACHO ELBOW from Cope! Cover, TWO?!? Bill survives and Rated FTR cannot believe it! But then they get Bill up to whip and- NO, Bill fights off Shatter Machine! Bill LARIATS Cash, LARIATS Cope, but Dax dodges!
Dax comes back, but into a SCRAPBUSTER! Cover, TWO!! The fans fire up as Dax survives Big Bill’s Big Boss Man Slam, but then Bill puts him in a corner. Bill aims from a corner, mocking Cope’s mannerisms, then runs in, but Dax dodges! Bill collides with buckles and post! Jericho hurries to tag in! Jericho runs up but Dax wrenches and suplexes for a BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Jericho survives, Keith returns, but Dax tackles Keith! Dax has the legs, SHARPSHOOTER! Cash runs up but Jericho trips him, WALLS OF JERICHO! Jericho and Dax shout at each other while the ref reprimands, none of this will matter since Cash and Keith aren’t legal!
Jericho and Dax let Cash and Keith go, to start throwing SLAPS at each other! The fans fire up as the SLAPS go back and forth, but then Cope and Bill BOOT Jericho and Dax! Bill BOOTS Cope! Bill runs but Cope DUMPS Bill out! Bill manages to stay on the apron, but Cope SPEARS him off! The fans fire up as Cope then climbs, for a SUPER CROSSBODY! Down goes Bill and the fans fire up! Keith runs at Cash, Cash DUMPS Keith out! Cash then builds speed, and Cash DIVES onto Bill! The fans fire up as Jericho and Dax are alone in the ring, and they start firing forearms! The fans rally as Dax CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS!
Dax runs, but Jericho BOOTS him! Both men run, DOUBLE LARIATS collide! Dax DECKS Jericho, then hurries to a corner! Dax climbs up, takes aim, but Keith has the ROH World title! Jericho staggers up into SHATTER MACHINE! Then they give Jericho to Cope for the SPEAR!! Cover, Rated FTR wins!
Winners: Rated FTR, by pinfall
From Dynamite to Collision, from TBS to TNT to MAX, Rated FTR is undefeated! And Cope gets a mic to tell Charlotte, NC that it is so damn good to see them. But wait, The Death Riders are on the tron! Moxley says, “Guys, it’s a jungle out there. You gotta be careful. Accidents can happen.” Wait, the Death Riders have taken Rock ‘n’ Roll Express hostage?! Ricky tells Moxley he doesn’t have the balls. Is that so? Moxley tapes Ricky’s mouth, but the Outrunners rush over! Only for Yuta and Marina to CLOBBER them from behind! Rock ‘n’ Roll Express are just the bait so The Death Riders could get at FTR’s friends!
FTR & Cope hurry backstage, but The Death Riders slip away into the night! Rocky & Robby motion that they went out the door, so Rated FTR continues pursuit! Rocky & Robby get free and help Turbo & Truth, but will The Death Riders show no mercy to anyone, not even legends?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision to continue things from Dynamite as well as the MAX simulcast. Though, AEW continues to be redundant with promos. Why have the cold open promos from Rated FTR and Learning Tree and then the promos later? Just stick to the promos from Briscoe and Garcia, then maybe give us promos from Private Party and Lio & Action to hype up the tag title match. Cope and Jericho had a good promo together, and then we got a real fun promo from FTR, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and The Outrunners, all leading into a great Six Man Tag main event. The only real flub was I think Cope’s half nelson slam was supposed to be his half nelson facebuster but Jericho thought it was Russian Leg Sweep.
Great win for Rated FTR, but much to my surprise, Death Riders went after Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and then Outrunners. I suppose if Cope is aiming for them, they of course have to go after him. Though, I dunno, maybe go after him, not the old guys who can’t even wrestle. Maybe Cope gets in on the Casino Gauntlet in hopes of getting a title shot at Maximum Carnage, but I feel like someone else wins to then lose to Moxley in Cincinnati. Cope can instead battle Moxley for either Homecoming (to counter program WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event), or even stretch this out to Revolution in March.
Jarrett of course beats Solo in their match, that helps Jarrett have some momentum going into the Casino Gauntlet, and maybe Jarrett wins so that he then takes the loss at Maximum Carnage. And great match from Toni VS Deonna, great win for Toni, that makes her 2-0 over The Vendetta. It might still be too soon for “Rockstar” Toni to face Mariah May for the championship, but maybe with big things happening at WrestleDynasty tomorrow, there will be big opportunities for Toni to go after one of Mercedes Mone’s multiple belts. I could see Toni winning the TBS Championship, acting like it’s her first major title, but then she actually makes history by being the first Women’s World and TBS Champion in AEW history, making her question her own reality.
Going back to the various title matches tonight, great promos from Briscoe and Garcia and a great match to kick the night off. Garcia of course won but that was a good showing from Briscoe. I was a little surprised no one came out to call Garcia out for the next shot, but they’ve got time since there’s Homecoming and Revolution to build towards. Great tag team title match, but I figured Private Party would win. It was a great detail that Lio & Action were going to cheat but Dante & Darius were there to prevent that. And of course Lio & Action came back for revenge during the Fatal 4 Way, because they could do it and not give Dante the win.
Now, that Fatal 4 Way was awesome, but does Tony Khan really have to put a kayfabe big money prize on it? If there has to be kayfabe incentive, make it a #1 contender’s match to a title. Komander was even in it, as ROH World TV Champion, so why not make this Fatal 4 Way a big Title Eliminator something or other? And have we ever really seen anything coming from the other big money matches? Did Top Flight really do something in kayfabe with that $3,000 prize or whatever that was? Alright, enough venting, Cage winning was good for Cage because he just lost the ROH World TV Championship and needed a rebound. Though, why not just make Cage & Archer next up for the tag titles?
My Score: 8.9/10

Backstage interview with Jay White.
Renee Paquette is with the Switchblade, and says she wants to talk the newfound alliance he seems to have with Adam Copeland. Yeah, he made it just in time for the show, luckily they’re close to the airport. But that new relationship, that’s building in real time before our very eyes. There is no real history between him and “Cope,” but there is something there for him and FTR. They haven’t always seen eye to eye, but the last time they spoke, White said that to fight the Death Riders, he’d need to rely on those he usually wouldn’t. Now he must rely on FTR and the Rated R Superstar, Adam Copeland.
Because the Death Riders, they always seem to have the numbers. Well, speaking of, the Death Riders storm up on White! White wants them all to hold on a minute, let’s get a head count. Because up behind the Death Riders is Rated FTR! White shows that it is all right on time! And the brawl is on! White has Moxley while Rated FTR brawls with the AEW World Trios Champions! These eight throw hands as they move further backstage! Moxley sends White into road cases, but White hits back! Moxley RAMS White, the rest of the fighting is closer to gorilla now, and spilling out to ringside! The fans fire up as Cash sends Pac into railing!
Cash then brings The Bastard around to send into the side of a tunnel! Part of it chips off! Pac gets up to kick back, the brawling continues, and now we’re at the ring! The fans fire up as Cope RIPS Claudio’s shirt off to fire hands! Moxley and White brawl among the fans, and Moxley DUMPS White over railing. Dax beats Yuta down, Cope DUMPS Claudio over barriers, and White fires hands on Moxley! Yuta sends Dax into steel steps, but White sends Moxley into some! White and Moxley end up in the ring, but Yuta hurries in. White catches Yuta for a BLADERUNNER! But then Moxley has White! White clinches, Pac BOOTS him!
Dax storms in, Pac SOBATS Dax, runs, but Dax avoids the dropkick! Cash joins in, SHATTER MACHINE for Pac! Claudio drags Dax out, and SWINGS him into railing! Cash BLASTS Claudio, then DIVES into an UPPERCUT! Moxley calls to his Death Riders and they all mug White! The fans boo but Moxley tells White he can go to hell, because he doesn’t stand for anything! But Cope is up! Claudio saves Moxley to take the SPEAR! Moxley stays back, the Death Riders regroup, and now they’re in retreat. ATL cheers on Cope, and Cope tells Moxley, “I don’t know if you can hear it, but these folks here are chanting one name.”
So then, Moxley, what’s your answer? You still got a set of nuts? Is he accepting the challenge for the AEW World Championship at Revolution? Moxley storms back up to ringside, but only so far as to grab a mic and say, “You deserve nothing, you get nothing, the answer is ‘no.'” The fans boo but then White shouts at Moxley! White tells Moxley he has an offer for him! White can make Moxley Breathe with the Switchblade while drowning in a pool of his own blood! Moxley & Claudio VS White & Cope, ANYTHING GOES in a Brisbane Brawl, Grand Slam: Australia!! The fans like the sound of that! Will Cope & White make things Rated R when AEW goes down under?
BREAKING NEWS for Grand Slam: Australia!
After being called out by Buddy Matthews twice, Kazuchika Okada wants to prove “I not b*tch!” The Rainmaker is giving the Aussie Juggernaut his shot at the Continental Championship, but will he deny Buddy the hometown victory? Or will Buddy be the one to make it reign?
Will Ospreay VS ??? w/ Don Callis!
While the Aerial Assassin is going to be taking on Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher alongside Kenny Omega in Brisbane, it would seem the newest member of the Don Callis Family wants to fight him first! But just who is it? Callis makes his way out here with a mic to say, “Ladies and gentlemen, I have a very important announcement to make.” The fans chant, “F Don Callis!” but Callis says the opponent for Ospreay tonight is a man he knows very well! A man he called his brother! Ladies and gentlemen, it’s MARK DAVIS! Ospreay is completely shocked! Davis was last scene trying to knock sense into Kyle Fletcher! How did Callis get Davis on his side?
That mystery aside, the bell rings, and the fans chant “YOU SOLD OUT!” at Dunkzilla. Ospreay gets in Davis’s face, pushes him, then SLAPS him! Davis CHOPS Ospreay right back! And CHOPS him again! And again! The fans boo but Ospreay puts Davis in the corner to CHOP, CHOP, and CHOP! Ospreay whips, Davis cartwheels and scoops Ospreay to SLAM him! But Ospreay avoids the senton, then basement DROPKICKS! The fans fire up for Ospreay and he CLUBS Davis on the neck. Ospreay fires forearms, then UPPERCUTS! Ospreay whips, Davis reverses, but Ospreay KICKS in return! Ospreay then dodges a lariat, but runs into a BACKDROP!
The fans boo but Davis soaks it up. Davis runs up on Ospreay in a corner to LARIAT! Ospreay sits down, Davis runs and SLIDING FOREARMS! Ospreay clutches his jaw, Davis covers, TWO! Davis drags Ospreay up to scoop and SLAM! Davis looms over Ospreay, then drags him up. Davis wrenches and CHOPS Ospreay, then CHOPS again! Davis CHOPS Ospreay off his feet, and now SENTONS down on him! Cover, TWO! Davis brings Ospreay up to suplex high and hard! Ospreay clutches his back but Davis KICKS him! Ospreay goes to a corner, but Davis CHOPS again! Ospreay fires forearms and the fans rally up, only for Davis to CLAW Ospreay’s face!
Davis reels Ospreay in, puts him up top, and then throws sumo style palm strikes! Ospreay sputters, the fans rally, but Davis climbs up. Davis brings Ospreay to the very top, but Ospreay fires body shots! Ospreay sends Davis down, then springboards, PIP PIP CHEERIO! Direct hit and Davis bails out, but Ospreay kips up! Atlanta fires up but Callis coaches Davis while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Ospreay aims, but Davis hurries up to HOTSHOT him first! Ospreay staggers away and Davis soaks up heat while going around the outside. Davis storms up the steel steps to get back in the ring, and he brings Ospreay up, only for Ospreay to KICK, KICK, and KICK! Ospreay whips, Davis reverses, but Ospreay wheelbarrows and steps through! Ospreay has the legs for a FIGURE FOUR! Davis endures and tries to pry the hold open, but Ospreay slaps the trapping leg back down! Davis grits his teeth but his shoulders are down for a cover! TWO, and Davis crawls backwards. Davis drags Ospreay along, and manages the ROPEBREAK!
Ospreay lets the hold go, then he grabs the legs, only for Davis to BOOT him away! Both men scramble to their feet, and Davis CHOPS Ospreay! And CHOPS him again! Ospreay blocks the next, then wrenches the arm to grab the leg! SHIN BREAKER, then a leg sweep! Ospreay steps through again, and it’s back to the FIGURE FOUR! Davis endures all over again, but he powers up to turn things over! Now Ospreay endures, and he crawls his way to the ROPEBREAK! The hold is undone, and both men slowly rise. Ospreay fires a forearm, Davis fires a CHOP, and Dynamite goes to break.

Davis drags Ospreay up, but the ref notices the bare buckle! The ref wont’ let Davis get that one! The ref and Davis argue, Ospreay HIDDEN BLADES!! Cover, Ospreay wins!!
Winner: Will Ospreay, by pinfall
Callis wanted Dunkzilla to be his “Ospreay Killer,” but the underhanded tactic did not work out! As for Ospreay, he grabs a mic to say, “Oh, yes, bruv! Atlanta! Oh my God, it’s like a little party in here, right? And Don. Seeing as you like to crash the party and you’re a little bit of a party pooper, I’ve got a new best friend back there who I’m teaming up with in Australia Grand Slam.” The fans chant for “KENNY! KENNY!” and here he comes! Callis is already panicking! Callis finds his way out into the crowd to run away as Omega makes his way down to the ring. Omega stands with Ospreay as the fans cheer him on.
Omega says, “Now, we’ve been here a couple times now, but I don’t remember a reception quite like that. So thank you very much, Atlanta.” Omega says this was meant to be a celebration for Ospreay, but Omega must get this off his chest. Omega tells Davis that man to man, Omega has no clue what Ospreay has on him, but trust Omega. Even though it might be scary, even though it might seem hopeless, help is there, and there are people you can trust. The fans cheer that. Omega says in a little over a week, Omega makes his AEW in-ring return with Grand Slam: Australia. But listening to these voices made him get that itch so he had to come out here in person, if they don’t mind.
The fans cheer more, and now Kyle and Konosuke storm out here! Callis tells them to stand down, they still have their tag match with Brody King & Buddy Matthews. Omega tells them all that they’ve done this song ‘n’ dance already. If the Callis Family wants this right here, right now, then go ahead. Omega’s an EVP again, they’ve got nothing but time. But if not… Then Omega suggests they pack their bags, hop on a jet, train, and get ready for Brisbane, Australia! Grand Slam, Ospreay & Omega VS Fletcher & Takeshita! It has been a long time since people could really feel what Omega was feeling in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023!
And now that Omega is BACK here in 2025, all the fans will get to feel the exact same things! Next week, it won’t just be a match for fun or to prove they’re better. This is the match to prove that the future of AEW lies not with those cowering on the ramp, but those right here in this ring! The fans cheer, and Omega says it may have been almost a year, but if they know the words, say it with him. He must bid you adieu, so goodbye, MWAH! And goodnight, BANG! Pyro goes off, and even Omega is surprised! But will it be no surprise when the Best Bout Bruvs bring down Don Callis’ cronies?
The Hurt Syndicate is here!
Atlanta chants along, “We Hurt~ People!” as Montel Vontavious Porter and the NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin, make their way to the ring. MVP makes sure to say hey to Westside Gunn as he hangs out ringside. MVP then grabs a mic to say, “Ladies and gentlemen, ATLiens, and the AEW viewing audience, this is an official announcement from the Hurt Syndicate. Right now, I need everybody to stand on their feet and respect for the Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin, The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley, your NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions!” The fans do stand and cheer, and MVP says that sounds good.
MVP says he’ll keep this short and sweet because they have to hop on the jet and head to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. MVP has to give props to Private Party. Two young, talented athletes with a very bright future, but they were just the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was not their fault that they had to face the most devastating duo in ALL of pro-wrestling today! And MVP would like to put everyone else on notice: If you are an AEW athlete, if you are a champion, get ready. Because when the Hurt Syndicate chooses to come see you, they will hurt you and take your title!
But until that time, they’re open for business. And if you would like an opportunity to face them for the tag team championships, then- Wait. That music… “By order of the Bang Bang Gang… GUNNS UP!” Austin & Colten are here! But Lashley & Shelton don’t even bother looking at them, even as Austin & Colten walk down the ramp. Austin has the mic to say they mean no disrespect. But if they’re businessmen, then Austin & Colten would like to talk business. MVP says they don’t look like businessmen, and certainly aren’t dressed like it, but MVP says they’re at least conducting themselves as men, so go ahead. Step up and state your business.
Austin & Colten join the Hurt Syndicate in the ring, and Austin says before getting to the business, Gunns Up for the Atlanta Gold Members~! And to properly introduce themselves, they are The Gunns, former AEW World Tag Team Champions. They have been waiting TWO YEARS to get a rematch, and the only reason The Hurt Syndicate has those titles now is because Austin & Colten have been gone. But guess what? They’re back, baby! Colten says, “Oh, you guys hurt~ people~? Well, congrats on doing your jobs. That’s kinda what this business is about. But now it’s time for us to do our job, which is take back our tag team titles!”
MVP says he’ll tell them what. He appreciates the moxie and respects the courage. But he also respects their father, and if not for that, these two monsters would’ve already choked the Gunns out. But MVP is about business. He shakes hands with the Gunns, and says next week, for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, it’ll be the Hurt Syndicate VS the Ass Boys. The Syndicate moves on, and Austin says, “Ass Boys? Hey, Ass Boys? Y’know what? YOU GADDAMN RIGHT WE ARE! And if you’re not down with that, we got two words for ya! GUNNS UP!!” Austin & Colten no longer let words hurt them, but will a fight with Lashley & Shelton hurt well enough?
Backstage interview with Mercedes Mone.
At least, Renee is hoping to speak with The CEO. Instead, Muppet Mone pops in! “Atlanta~! Say hello to your C E O~! Renee, I have exciting news! This Saturday on Collision, Harley Cameron will be live in concert~!” Harley pops in and wow, she’ll be live in concert for a “Harley Halftime in Houston” special? Yes! What an amazing idea, Mercedes, that you totally came up with. Thanks! And y’know what? Muppet Mone isn’t such a dummy. She doesn’t get it. Of course not. But Harley says this is fantastic! They’re making up! Muppet Mone says she does want to apologize, she was so awful to Harley last week.
Um, real Mercedes Mone is walking out from her locker room. Mone asks Harley, “Are you stupid? Or are you dumb?” Renee says she’s glad to see Mone is here, she wants to talk Grand Slam and how she still doesn’t have an opponent. Harley did get her first win on TV, so maybe they can talk her trajectory. Mone says aw, Harley got her first victory, how cute. Mone remembers her first-ever win. And she also remembers the feeling of winning her first championship at the age of 23. And the feeling of winning another, and another, and then this title. And the TBS Championship is saying that Mone is the GREATEST TBS Champion ever!
And Harley? Well, she’s nothing but a loser. And losers don’t get to ride the Money Train! Mone SNATCHES Muppet Mone off Harley’s hand, to reveal a middle finger! Mone storms off, Renee hides the middle finger, but it’s a strong one. What will it take for Harley to force Mone into a Grand Slam showdown?
Backstage interview with Hangman Page.
AEW returns as Renee is now with The Cowboy, and she wants to follow up with him from last week. It seemed like Hangman was in pursuit of Swerve Strickland. Hangman says that was nothing. No, y’know what that was? That was a moment of weakness! It was a mistake! And that is all he’ll say on that, and Renee will not asking about it again, understood? Renee says okay, but then two weeks ago, Christopher Daniels came out to say that after their Texas Deathmatch, the damage was so severe that he had to retire from in-ring action. Correct her if she’s wrong, but there appeared to be regret on Hangman’s face.
Hangman simply says, “No.” Hangman says Daniels overstepped, overplayed his hand, and accepted a deathmatch with The Hangman. Hangman did what he said he would, and he hurt Daniels so badly that Daniels will never wrestle again! And Hangman does not regret- Wait, Max Caster speaks up? He wants Renee to have Hangman wrap this up. Caster’s been waiting! Caster respects Hangman, and what he did to Daniels was actually awesome, that was so brutal. Daniels had the neck brace and everything. What if Hangman did that to Anthony Bowens? Caster would do it himself, but he’s busy with his Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge.
Hey, what if Hangman hospitalized Billy Gunn? Hangman says Caster is on to something. Hangman would love to hospitalize someone tonight. But uh, Hangman doesn’t see Bowens and he doesn’t see Billy, but… Caster’s here. Y-Yeah! Okay, thank you for your time, he’ll just be going to his car. Caster leaves, Hangman says he’ll come with. Will Platinum Max ever learn how to not stick his foot in his mouth?
Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher VS Brody King & Buddy Matthews!
As we saw earlier tonight, The Alpha & Aussie Arrow want after Ospreay & Omega something fierce, but they’re going to wait until AEW arrives in Brisbane. As for the Hounds of Hell, they’re ready to take a bite out of any and every champion in AEW, so Konosuke’s on their list. Will Brody & Buddy build momentum going into Grand Slam: Australia? Or will the Don Callis Family be ready for the Best Bout Bruvs?

Samoa Joe & Hook walk the halls.
The Samoan Submission Specialist asks if the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil is ready, and Hook says yeah. But wait, where’s “Speak ‘n’ Spell” Shibata? Hook says Shibata’s back in Japan. But what’s going on? Joe says when people wrap steel around his skull, he tends to get emotional. Hook says Joe once said himself, if you’re furious, you can’t be focused. Joe is annoyed Hook is using his own stuff against him. But they still find The Patriarchy’s locker room. Joe tells Hook he can take lead. Hook storms up and opens the door, but in their way is Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian. Joe asks them, “Where is your daddy?”
Nick says Christian isn’t here right now. Do they have a problem, though? Nah, Joe & Hook can come back when Christian’s here. Kip says yeah, jog on. But then Joe says, “Or… We can leave a message.” Joe & Hook attack Nick & Kip! Joe SMACKS Nick off the locker while Hook hammers away on Kip! Christian Cage & Shayna Wayne walk in now, see what’s going on, and turn right around! Some father he is… Joe tells them to tell “Daddy” that he says hi. Joe & Hook leave and now Christian steps into the locker room, acting as if he didn’t know what happened. Christian pushes the cameraman out of there, was the message received?
MJF is here!
The Devil went down to Georgia, looking for a soul to steal, but seems so did this scumbag. MJF has them cut his music, and he calls out “Geriatric Jeff Jarrett!” All Jeff had to do was stay out of the way of a young, fast-rising, incredibly handsome, humble star, and he just couldn’t do that, could he? No, no, no, and that is why MJF had to teach Jeff a lesson. That lesson is as follows: in AEW, the “E” stands for “Elite.” Not “elderly!” MJF laughs at his own dumb joke, and then says that now that the “carny shmuck” is out of the way, MJF is one step closer to once again obtaining his Triple B! The fans boo that.
MJF says because ain’t nobody on the level of the Devil! Wait, Caster? What’s he doing here? MJF tells Caster to scram, but Caster is pointing to who he’s running from! MJF doesn’t care, this is his time, no Caster’s. But wait! Here comes Hangman! The Cowboy storms in, Caster runs but MJF stands his ground! Hangman stares MFJ down, then pushes past him to go chase Caster through the crowd! MJF asks if this is for real right now. This is his time! But the fans like #CowboyS*it, huh? Well, before he was so rudely interrupted by a talentless, worthless hack… Ain’t nobody- The fans tell MJF to STFU!
MJF does his best to finish his catchphrase, but now DUSTIN RHODES is here! The fans fire up as The Natural heads to the ring but MJF has them cut the music. The dual ROH World Tag Team & Six Man Tag Team Champion steps into the ring, MJF tells him that he was talking, but Dustin tells MJF to shut his stupid trap! All MJF does is come out here and badmouth everybody in the back, degrade them, and even talk about people who aren’t even here anymore, like Dustin’s friend, Owen Hart. MJF scoffs and turns around, but Dustin tells him to look him in the eyes, “you SOB!” Dustin suggests MJF keep Owen’s name out of his mouth, or else Dustin kicks MJF’s teeth in!
The fans fire up, and Dustin tells MJF to stop talking about people’s wives, about people’s pasts, their issues with drugs and alcohol. Dustin is one of those! 16 years clean ‘n’ sober, after going straight to Hell, looking the Devil in his eyes, and kicking his ass! Dustin crawls out of Hell, and he knows MJF ain’t the devil. MJF has all the potential in the world, yet he chooses to go to these dark places. There is a reason Dustin is still here at 55 years old, hanging with everybody on this roster! It is because he is a survivor! Dustin IS the Last of His Kind! Because Dustin has survived everything! Whatever MJF can think of, Dustin’s been though, boy!
The fans cheer but MJF doesn’t seem to care. Dustin tells MJF that when Dustin is gone, the mold will be broken forever. Dustin IS better than you, “and your punk b*tch ass freakin’ knows it!” The fans fire up for Dustin, but MJF says okay, okay, time out. Everybody, bravo, give it up for Dustin Rhodes! MJF applauds and says that was incredible. But MJF has to say, the part where Dustin said he is better than MJF? That was interesting. MJF imagines all those years of Dustin being a worthless drug addict turned his brain into Swiss cheese to come to that realization. But allow MJF to smarten Dustin and all these people on what Dustin’s all about.
“Dustin Rhodes is the man that took 37 long, hard, arduous years of blood, sweat and tears… Just to get out from understand his daddy’s shadow.” The fans boo and MJF says that struck a nerve with “Goldy,” didn’t it? MJF has a better one. The fans chant, “Whoop His Ass!” but MJF says what’s so sad about the whole thing, is that after all that hard work and sacrifice, now Dustin lives in the shadow of his baby brother! Dustin DECKS MJF! The fans fire up as Dustin stands MJF up and they throw more hands! Security rushes in here but the fans boo! “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Even Jerry Lynn gets out here!
Jerry tries to calm Dustin down, but Dustin breaks free to CLOBBER MJF! The fans fire up but MJF bails out the side! Dustin is fuming but MJF jukes the security! AND LOW BLOWS DUSTIN!! The fans boo as MJF stands over Dustin, a stupid grin on his face. MJF takes his leave for real this time, but now Christopher Daniels gets in his way. MJF tells Daniels not to touch him, but then realizes who he’s talking to. Hangman sure did a number on Daniels, didn’t he? MJF goes to the back, Daniels seethes, but will someone, anyone, ever humble the Wolf of Wrestling?
Mariah May is here!
The Glamour promised she’d watch as her former mentor battled her first-ever AEW opponent once again. But will Mariah like the outcome? Or will it be a repeat performance? Wait, Justin Roberts has a script to read from for Toni’s entrance? “Playing the role of The Glamour, Mariah May… Timeless Toni Storm!” Mariah has no idea what that means, but then her music plays again! And yes, much as when Mariah used to cosplay as Rockstar Toni, Toni is cosplaying as Mariah! Toni struts around, has obvious hair extensions, and perhaps does a bit more teasing with the finger and lips than Mariah does, but everyone else says that’s spot on!
Mariah is seething more and more the more Toni walks around, but will this still be a smash hit of a parody?

Toni moves around, kips free, but Aminata headlocks. Aminata grinds the hold, hits a takeover, but Toni headscissors. Aminata kips free, the two reset, and we see Serena Deeb watching backstage. Aminata turns Toni the other way, Gedo Clutch, TWO! Aminata shifts to have a leg hook FULL NELSON!
Toni endures, even as Aminata has knuckle locks to pull on the arms. Dynamite returns to single picture as Toni powers back to a cover, TWO! Toni ROCKS Aminata, ROCKS her again, then fires off forearms again and again! The fans fire up as Toni fires off TEN! Mariah still refuses to accept Toni’s copycat. For one, Toni is missing two very obvious elements. Toni puts Aminata up top, DOUBLE CHOPS her, then frolics around a la Mariah. Toni runs, goes up, and hits STRATUSFACTION! Then a SHOTGUN! Cover, TWO! Mariah mocks Toni being dramatic. Toni drags Aminata up, reels her in, but Aminata trips her to a jackknife bridge, TWO!
Toni CHOPS, but Aminata grins. Aminata CHOPS Toni, Toni CHOPS back! The fans rally, the CHOPS keep going, then Toni SLAPS Aminata! Aminata SLAPS Toni! Toni SLAPS again! Aminata runs up, but Toni wrenches, kicks, and whips! Aminata goes up and over, then GERMAN SUPLEXES! Toni tumbles and more hair extensions fall away! Aminata runs and the fans fire up for the BOOT WASH! Aminata again mocks the closeup, then she drags Toni in for a cover, TWO! Mariah says Toni is playing the role of Mariah, Aminata is apparently Timeless, where does it all end? Aminata drags Toni up, Alabama Lifts, but Toni turns that into a DDT!
Toni hurries to run, and she KNEES Aminata to a corner! Then Toni gives us a proper closeup, for the SWEET HIP MUSIC! Then Toni makes sure Mariah sees this as she fireman’s carries, MAYDAY DRIVER! Cover, Toni wins!
Winner: Toni Storm, by pinfall
Mariah is fuming all over again, but Toni proves that anything Mariah can do, Toni can do better. Renee joins Toni in the ring to interview her. But then Toni wants Renee to play along and call her “Mariah,” The Woman From Hell. “And I stand on the neck of every woman in this division. And there’s not a woman alive that can touch me!” Mariah has had it! Mariah storms off commentary to get in the ring! Toni offers her a chance, but then Mariah storms back out to grab her belt and leave. Will Toni get the better of Mariah when they finally have their rematch?
Dustin Rhodes speaks.
“For 37 years, people have been chipping away, trying to put me in the ground. I’m still here! Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I live for blood, sweat and tears! I am the Last of My Kind! I’m around for a reason, boy! And next Tuesday night, Austin Texas, MY backyard, this ain’t New York City, this ain’t Long Island, I’m gonna beat your ass! B*TCH!” The Natural has put MJF on notice, but will everything be bigger in Texas?
The Learning Tree is on stage.
Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” are here, and Jericho says, “Hi, guys~! And welcome to a very special, first-time-live edition of The New York Minute with me, Chris Jericho!” The fans boo but Keith shouts, “RESPECT CHRIS JERICHO!” Jericho says they are here in Georgia, the Big ALT! Um, no… Keith says it stands for, “APPRECIATE LEARNING TREE!” Jericho is pretty sure he speaks for everyone here in ALT when he says he doesn’t know how Bandido decided he’s a Wanted Man returning on Collision. No one here wants Bandido in AEW! But since he’s back, Jericho will turn this into a teachable moment.
“Bandido, apparently there’s a $100,000 on your head. But since I’m standing here with an actual Bounty Hunter, this week on Collision on Saturday-” The fans tell Jericho STFU, but he says no swearing! Jericho promises to double the bounty to $200,000 if Keith can do to Bandido what Big Bill has done to “Powerhouse” Hobbs! Bill tells Hobbs that wherever he is, Bill hopes- WAIT! Hobbs is here!! And Hobbs runs up to brawl with all of The Learning Tree! The fans fire up, but this 3v1 isn’t going Hobbs’ way! But wait! The Outrunners run out here! Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum want payback for being cheated last Saturday!
The fans cheer as the fight is now even! Bill brawls with Hobbs, Jericho & Keith brawl with Truth & Turbo, but security hurries out here! Fan want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” Bill grabs one guard by his neck! But then he sees Hobbs doing the same with another security guard. Bill gives his guard a SKYSCRAPER CHOKE SLAM to the floor! Hobbs gives his guard a POWERHOUSE CHOKE SLAM to the floor! The fans chant “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” as both men storm into the ring! They circle, then they start throwing hands! The fans fire up, and Hobbs TACKLES Bill to the apron! But Bill drags Hobbs to the floor!
Bill CLUBS Hobbs, but Hobbs SPINEBUSTERS Bill onto the desk, and then over it! They still scrap on the floor! Atlanta fires up as Hobbs HAMMERS Bill, then stands up. Bill staggers to his feet, Hobbs fires more hands, and the cameraman is collateral! Refs rush out, Dynamite goes to break, and this has been a New York Minute! But when and where will Hobbs and Bill settle things once and for all?
Ricochet VS Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana!
This fight has been a long time coming, and the animosity only escalated with every week we had to wait! The One & Only is no longer pretending to be a hero, now he’s living the life of an American Psycho. But will that be enough to be the most dangerous man in AEW? Or will even Atlanta be “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!”
But Ricochet attacks from behind during Swerve’s entrance, and with a chair! The fans boo but Ricochet says this is because of them! And he SMACKS Swerve again! Ricochet swings Swerve into a BACKBREAKER, then he basement DROPKICKS Swerve in the back! Ricochet keeps moving, and he FALLING AX HANDLES! Fans make up a new chant, “Who’s Bald?” “RICOCHET!”
Ricochet is annoyed, but he brings Swerve up. Ricochet ROCKS Swerve, but Swerve ROCKS him back! Swerve ROCKS Ricochet again, but Ricochet knees low, then CLUBS Swerve on the neck! Ricochet CHOPS Swerve, but Swerve eggs him on! Ricochet CHOPS again, then runs, but into an UPPERCUT! Swerve runs, but Ricochet Tiger Wall Kicks, SOBATS, and KNEES Swerve down! The fans boo but Ricochet brings Swerve in. Swerve slips free of the bomb to lift Ricochet, but Ricochet slips free of the bomb! Ricochet wrenches, tucks and lifts, then fireman’s carries! Swerve slips free to do the same, and POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO!
Ricochet survives and Swerve grows frustrated. Swerve stalks Ricochet, full nelsons, but Ricochet fights it! Ricochet grabs the ref, but Swerve stops the low blow! Ricochet grabs ropes now, but Swerve YANKS him back into a GERMAN SUPLEX! Swerve then somersaults and FLATLINERS! Eddy Gordo roll, HOUSE CALL!! The fans are thunderous and Swerve says that’s not enough! Swerve goes up top, for the KILL STOMPS!! Cover, TWO?!? Ricochet survives and shocks Swerve! The ref isn’t sure what to make of it, Ricochet simply put his hands up to guard! It still gets Swerve in a bad spot, and Ricochet grins! Ricochet reloads, SPIRIT GUN!! Cover, Ricochet wins!
Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall
A lot of controversy in that finish, and Ricochet grabs the robe! Nana also has it, but Ricochet SHOVES Nana down! Ricochet wears the Mogul Embassy robe, adding insult to injury as he takes his leave. Swerve is seething, but is AEW going to be #OuttaThisWorld from now on?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite, but with some new head-scratcher story moves. Mark Davis being the new Don Callis Family member would’ve worked better if this was months ago. Davis has been hanging around, but we barely got any interactions of him and Kyle or Don Callis, so there were no hints at Davis wanting to turn. That doesn’t make this surprise surprising, it makes it confusing. Ospreay VS Davis was still good stuff, and we still got a good promo from Ospreay with Omega to add to the Grand Slam tag match. Speaking of, great tag match of Konosuke & Kyle VS Brody & Buddy, but very fitting that Okada would screw Buddy over now that their title match is happening. As I said for Collision, Okada VS Buddy is going to be awesome, even if Buddy still loses.
Then there’s The Gunns challenging The Hurt Syndicate for the tag titles. It’s not even so much that the Gunns don’t deserve a title match, or that they and the Hurt Syndicate won’t put on a good title match, it’s just… We literally opened tonight with Jay White, leader of the Bang Bang Gang and friend of The Gunns. Why aren’t The Gunns helping Jay White against The Death Riders? Why isn’t it 6v4, but then the trios titles become the reason the Bang Bang Gang doesn’t quite help out Rated FTR like they should? I want to be frustrated for reasons that are perfectly in story, not because the story itself is lacking.
Though to that point, the Death Riders VS AEW story really should’ve been all encompassing. It felt like it was going to be that when this all started, with how Garcia, Private Party, Dark Order, and a lot of others were standing together against The Death Riders, but then it all fell apart because we still needed things like Garcia VS Perry for the TNT title and such. White & Cope VS Moxley & Claudio in a “Brisbane Brawl” No Disqualifications match will still be great stuff, and surely that compels Moxley to face Cope 1v1. I still think we need Christian Cage to get back on this story given his Casino Gauntlet contract.
Christian Cage was hilarious tonight by totally avoiding that beating Joe & Hook gave Kip & Nick. And while Shibata is apparently in Japan, he could come back and we get a Six Man Tag against Patriarchy. Harley Cameron was also hilarious, and between the Muppet Mone and the “Harley Halftime in Houston” segment this Saturday, Mone might be angered into giving Harley the title match for Australia. Toni Storm continues to be a creative genius in her own right where she imitates Mariah for her match with Aminata. Serena Deeb watching the match is another dropped ball TK picked back up, but I guess he kinda had to since Britt Baker didn’t want a feud with Deeb. Britt is a whole different issue, we might not get a real answer on that for some time.
MJF had a good promo, but Dustin showing up was a touch of a surprise. Dustin is upset not just for Jarrett but for the disrespect showing to Owen Hart, but of course MJF gets his own shot on Dustin. MJF VS Dustin will be some good stuff, but surely Double J goes after MJF and we get that match for Revolution. This week’s New York Minute might’ve been the best because it turned into that huge brawl, with the New York Minute graphic still on it. Keith VS Bandido will be good stuff, and surely Bandido wins to set up Bandido VS Jericho for the ROH World Championship. Hobbs and Bill getting to wreck security guards as fun, and they’ll have a great grudge match, too.
Great main event from Swerve and Ricochet, with Ricochet ambushing Swerve as a good start. While Ricochet didn’t get that poison-rana to the apron, that’s just one of those moments where they go just a little too fast and it doesn’t work out. Ricochet still did good improvising with that German Suplex, and then he of course wins with “controversy.” This is certainly going to give us another match, maybe even for Revolution, and they’ll surely turn it up a notch. Honestly, an apron poison-rana is more fitting of a rematch than the first time we see this match in AEW, so this worked out for the better.
My Score: 8.8/10

The Samoan Submission Machine made his return with Homecoming last week, and he easily put The Patriarchy’s Prodigy in his place! But now, he and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil look to manhandle both of Christian Cage’s “sons.” Will Nick & Kip pay for the sins of their father figure?
The teams sort out and Hook starts against Nick. The bell rings, the fans rally behind “HOOK! HOOK!” while he and Nick circle. They tie up, are in a deadlock, but Nick uses his height for leverage. Nick puts Hook in a corner, scuffs him with forearms to the face, then eggs Hook on. The fans boo but Hook stays cool. Hook and Nick reset, tie up, and Hook wrenches to a hammerlock. Hook headlocks, hammerlocks, headlocks again, and hits the takeover! Nick keeps his shoulders up, rolls Hook away, then kicks low. Nick headlocks back but Hook powers up and out. Hook gets under Nick to hit an EXPLODER! Tag to Joe and the fans fire up! Joe grins as he brings Nick up, but Nick scrambles away! Tag to Kip and Mr. Superbad eggs Joe on. They tie up, Joe powers Kip to a corner, but the ref has to back him up. Kip gets a sucker punch in! Kip fires off, then whips, but Joe reverses. Joe runs in, Kip slips out to then GAMANGIRI! Kip springboards, trips up a bit, but Joe still casually steps aside for Kip to belly flop. Joe then SENTONS! Kip sputters, Joe drags him up and bumps him off buckles. Tag to Hook, and Joe whips Kip to a corner. Hook runs in to CLOBBER Kip! Joe adds a BACK ELBOW, then PELE!
The fans fire up, Christian is upset, but Hook covers, TWO! Hook drags Kip up, clinches, but Kip fires elbows. Kip spins things around to whip Hook, and Nick gets a shot in! The ref reprimands, Hook takes a swing, but Nick runs away. Kip runs up but Hook fires fists first! Hook runs, but Nick trip shim up! The ref reprimands but Kip hauls Hook up, FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, but Joe distracts the ref! The fans cheer but The Patriarchy is upset! Turnabout is fair play, though. Kip puts Hook in a corner, stomps him, then tags Nick. Nick stomps Hook, digs his knee in, but steps off as the ref counts.
Nick argues with the ref, talks trash on Joe, and that lets Kip CHOKE Hook! The fans boo, Nick gets a shot in, but then the ref reprimands. Kip claims he was stretching his legs! Nick snapmares Hook for a LEG DROP! Cover, TWO! Hook is still in this but Nick is still cocky. Nick taunts Hook to go reach for Hook, then he whips Hook to the corner. Hook slumps down, Nick tags Kip, and The Patriarchy boys mug Hook. Kip fires a forearm, then brings Hook out to scoop and SLAM! Kip flexes, the fans boo, but Hook crawls. Kip kicks Hook, brings him over to the corner, then tags in Nick. They mug Hook some more, then snapmares Hook to rain down fists!
Nick clamps onto Hook with a seated Cobra Twist! The fans rally up while Hook endures, and Hook slips his arms free. Hook fires body shots, then runs, but Nick ELBOWS him down! The fans boo but Nick taunts Joe. Cover, TWO! Hook is tougher than that, but Nick stands him up for haymakers. Nick tags Kip, they mug Hook even more, and the fans boo. Kip brings Hook around to snapmare and chinlock. Hook endures again as Kip thrashes Hook around. The fans rally, Hook fights up, but Nick tags in. The Patriarchy continues to mug Hook, then Kip tags back in. But Hook fires body shots on them both!
Kip kicks low, he and Nick double whip, atomic drop and UPPERCUT! Cover, TWO! Nick keeps Hook down, brings him up, and whips him to the corner. Nick runs in and UPPERCUTS, then tag to Kip! Kip taunts Joe, runs in at Hook, CANNONBALL! Tag back to Nick and they hook Kip, DOUBLE FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Hook survives and Nick grows frustrated. Joe coaches Hook up, the fans rally, but Nick kicks and stomps Hook around. Nick brings Hook up, but Hook clinches! TAZ PLEX!! The fans fire up while both men are down! Hook and Nick crawl, hot tags to Kip and Joe! The fans fire up as Joe rallies with elbows and forearms!
Joe TOSSES Nick out, then CHOPS away on Kip! Joe whips Kip corner to corner, runs in, but Kip dodges! Kip returns, but into the URENAGE! Joe hauls Kip back up, puts him on the top rope, and then tucks him in! The fans fire up for the MUSCLE BUSTER! Cover, Joe & Hook win!
Winners: Samoa Joe & Hook, by pinfall
And with that, this duo stays undefeated! But then Christian & Nick attack from behind! Christian even uses the Casino Gauntlet contract clipboard to beat Joe down! Then they mug Hook! Christian puts Joe’s head against the metal folder, and then STOMPS him on it!! The fans boo as Christian holds up the even-further dented folder up in his hands. Will no one stop The Patriarchy from becoming the reigning, defending, undisputed next AEW World Champion?
Adam Copeland speaks.
“So what’s your plan, Moxley? I don’t know. Our audience doesn’t know. Everyone seems to be confused. Hell, I don’t think you know. I think you’re one of those guys who just likes to shout at clouds and look around and blame everyone else. You’re a malcontent. I’ve met a lot of malcontents over the years and they all annoy me. Because they bitch and whine and moan and piss and complain about how this needs change, that needs change. But they refuse to look in the mirror and realize they’re the recurring theme. So Moxley, can you do that? Can you do that, kid? Can you look in a mirror and realize you’re the one that always seems to be here?
“You took the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, you hid it in a briefcase, while we started streaming on a new network. Rocket science, pal. Great idea. Let’s keep doing that. You call me a relic, and here’s the thing, even when I was a young gun, I always respected the generation before me, because I knew that generation before me busted their ass, rode up and down the road, spent time away from their family, battled through injury. Guys like Harley Race, Roddy Piper, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, who you Con-chair-to’d last week. Those guys worked that hard to make it better for guys like me.
“And while I was wrestling 200 times a year, every year, and you were wrestling in backyards with purple hair, watching everything I did, guess what? Me and many like me made it better for your generation. MY generation did that! Guaranteed contracts, less dates? That’s because of US! But you don’t respect it because you’re entitled. So here’s the thing, Mox. That AEW World Heavyweight Championship, it is the most important thing in this industry, and you wanna hide it away? That’s gonna change. Cuz I’m gonna beat you up. I’m gonna hurt you.
“When you’re a relic getting out of bed at 65 and you can barely, barely make it out, and your daughter looks up and you and asks, ‘Dad, what’s wrong?’ It’s gonna be because of me. So here it is, Moxley. For the first time ever, one on one, March 9th, Los Angeles, Revolution! Cope VS Mox for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship! Step up and accept, kid.” The challenge has been made, is Revolution about to be Rated R?
The Beast Mortos VS Adam Priest!
The menacing minotaur has been putting in the hard work, chasing after gold but is still just outside the picture. Will this be the night Mortos makes it out of the labyrinth and to the mountaintop? Or will he be exorcised by Alabama’s Priest?
The bell rings, Mortos runs right up and runs Priest right over! Then runs him over again! Then SMACKS him to a corner! Mortos whips Priest to a corner but Priest BOOTS in return! Priest CHOPS and fires forearms on repeat! But Mortos grabs him with both hands, whips him to ropes, then POP-UP SAMOAN DROPS him! The fans fire up with Mortos, then he DISCUS LARIATS! Mortos isn’t done, he pump handles and PILEDRIVERS!! Cover, Mortos wins!
Winner: The Beast Mortos, by pinfall
Fast and furious, Mortos sent Priest to #DestinationHellHole! Will Mortos’ next destination be- Wait, what? Max Caster is making his entrance? New theme song now that he’s no longer Acclaimed, Platinum Max is ruining Mortos’ time to shine. Caster has a mic to tell Huntsville that they are lookin’ live at the Best Wrestler Alive! Caster wants Mortos to calm down. Mortos did a great job just now! But he would never stand a chance against the Best Wrestler Alive, Platinum Max! So he will show us how it’s done. This is the first match in his Open Challenge series, but no no no, he doesn’t want to fight Mortos.
Caster doesn’t know who’s gonna walk out here, who he’s gonna beat today, but we find out one thing: We find who can survive the Best Wrestler Alive! Now get out of HIS ring! Mortos stands down, and Caster brings in his Louis Vuitton bag. Wait, RUSH is here!? La Faccion Ingoberable is reunited as a former ROH World Champion accepts the challenge! Is Platinum Max about to end up black ‘n’ blue at the hands of El Toro Blanco?
Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge: Max Caster VS Rush w/ Dralistico!
The bell rings and the fans rally for Rush. Caster is wary, but he wants to show respect with an Ingobernable fist bump. Rush says nope! He rushes up, Caster dodges, but Rush comes back with a SUPERMAN FOREARM! Rush then CHOPS Caster, stomps away in the corner, then stands on Caster’s shoulders! The ref counts, Rush drags Caster up to whip him corner to corner and SPLASH! Rush sits Caster down again to stomp away! Rush scuffs Caster, runs corner to corner, then “If you mess with the bull… YOU GET THE HORNS!” BULL’S HORNS!! Cover, Rush wins!
Winner: Rush, by pinfall
Best Wrestler Alive? Caster may want to rethink that nickname. LFI stands tall together, and Rush grabs a mic to say cut the music! And Huntsville, be quiet, because El Toro Blanco has arrived, perros! MORTOS! What’s up with him? This is all he’s done while Rush has been away?! Remember, they are familia! Remember that when you mess with the bull, you get the horns! No, no, Huntsville, louder! If you mess with the bull, YOU GET THE HORNS!! Rush y Dralistico want Mortos to get even more dangerous, will LFI soon stampede all over AEW?

AEW hears from Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe.
The Aussie Arrow says, “AEW is on the road to Grand Slam: Australia. But before we get there, there is one wrong I would like to right.” The Sussex County Chicken says he came out of 2024 “on fire, baby. Got three wins in the Continental Classic, one of those being Kyle Fletcher.” Kyle says if not for that fluke, he would’ve been undefeated in Blue League! Mark says all he’s hearing is that it was a fluke. Kyle says if there were no time limit or points on the line, that victory would never have happened. Mark says he beat Kyle in December, he can beat his ass in January, February, March, April, and so on!
Kyle will prove he has no ceiling and why he is the future of this industry! Kyle hopes Mark brings his best, because there will be no repeat. Next week, Collision in Houston, will The Protostar be able to #ManUp and take Briscoe down?
Backstage interview with Kazuchika Okada.
Lexy is now with The Rainmaker, and says after his AEW Homecoming victory against Komander, what is next for the Continental Champion? Okada thinks, but Buddy Matthews laughs as he walks over. Okada asks what’s so funny, and Buddy says what’s funny is that Okada calls himself a champion when he is too afraid to defend that title. As Okada can see, there’s no Brody King or Julia Hart here, so they can settle their issue right now. Okada laughs now, and says nope. Buddy doesn’t deserve it! Buddy knew Okada would say that. So then, Okada’s still a b*tch. Buddy leaves, Okada again says, “I NO B*TCH!” Okada sees Lexy is still here, and reiterates, “I no b*tch…”
But then, will The Rainmaker put up that title as a fighting champion? Or will he keep avoiding fights he might lose?
BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!
While Buddy wants his shot at Okada and the Continental Championship, he and Brody King will be facing Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita in a tag match! Could the #HoundsofHell earn themselves other golden opportunities? Or will the Aussie Arrow & Alpha International Champion be rolling through Atlanta? The ref counts, Taya stops to soak up heat, then she stands on Harley! The ref counts, Taya goes corner to corner, METEORA! Taya drags Harley to a cover, ONE!! Harley shows her toughness, but Taya KICKS Harley around. Taya bumps Harley off buckles, CHOPS her, and Deonna is pleased as she watches backstage. Taya whips Harley, but Harley wheelbarrows to arm-drag!

Exclusive interview with Ricochet.
Renee Paquette sits down with The One & Only, as promised on Dynamite. She brings up how, many times now, he has said there are a lot of things he wants to get off his chest. This is the formal setting he wanted, so what is going on? Ricochet says for the past five YEARS, all he has heard from fans all over the world is that AEW is where Ricochet should be. AEW is where the best wrestle, and this is where Ricochet belongs. Honestly, he heard all of that, saw all the stuff online, and he agreed! He also felt AEW is where he belonged. But he sat back and watched from afar, silently, as he saw the guys he traveled the world with go on to do amazing things here.
Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, The Young Bucks, and even Swerve Strickland. Ricochet knew this is the place to be, the fans agreed. But then what happened? What happened the moment Ricochet got here? All those same fans that lit up his Twitter and Instagram with messages about how he belonged here, they turned their backs on him! Ricochet is THE most innovative wrestler on this planet, and they told him otherwise! He beat their “white knight,” Will Ospreay clean in the middle of the ring. What happened? The fans showered him with toilet paper!
And then on top of that, Swerve, a man Ricochet’s known for 15 years, never seen eye to eye with, a man who was champion the day Ricochet signed here, thought it was cute to mock Ricochet and join in with the mocking. Look what happened to him. Swerve calls himself a man of the people, and that’s fine. Because that is what Ricochet saw when he drove the scissors into the middle of Swerve’s forehead. That attack wasn’t just for Swerve. That was for everybody! Everyone who stood behind Swerve, who sat in the audience, thinking it was okay to mock and embarrass Ricochet! That won’t happen anymore!
Wait! Swerve is here! Swerve says he could end Ricochet’s whole life right now, but he’d be upsetting a lot of people in Atlanta. Swerve tells Renee he can take it from here. Renee excuses herself, and Swerve sits down with Ricochet. If “Trevor” wants to talk, let’s talk! Ricochet is right. Swerve, Ricochet, they don’t see eye to eye. Never have, probably never will. This goes all the way back to Lucha Underground and CZW. In fact, Swerve will never forget the day Ricochet announced he was a free agent. Swerve said not to bring Trevor Mann here. Because AEW has a special gift at exposing people for who they are and what they’re all about.
Ricochet pretended to be a superhero to the people, and they rejected him for it. Swerve was openly the villain, and he go tall the respect for it. In less than a week, in Atlanta, Georgia, Swerve shows Ricochet that there are levels to this. This isn’t gonna be an athletic exhibition or a showcase of innovators. It will be a fight, and Ricochet cannot win in a fight against AEW’s most dangerous man. Ricochet says Swerve is right: Ricochet isn’t good at pretending. Ricochet isn’t good at acting or “cutting a promo” on something he doesn’t believe in, and yeah, the fans could see that every single time that Ricochet pretended to give a damn about what they thought.
Because to be honest, Ricochet never has, and never will. Swerve says he’s the most dangerous man, but ever since Hangman snatched his grill, Ricochet’s not felt a single thing from Swerve. Swerve gets right up in Ricochet’s face, holding Ricochet’s own golden scissors! But Ricochet just stands up in return. Swerve says he’ll see Ricochet in Atlanta. Swerve backs off, will these two burn it down in Hotlanta?
Toni Storm is here!
The fans cheer as Timeless Toni appears on stage, mic in hand. “Behold! I am Timeless Toni Storm. And I’m here to make a confession. For the last six weeks, I have been playing the role of Toni Storm. I know. I know. But the young girl in the red shorts, that was actually me. And I know that none of you realized this, because by GAWD I’m good! But you all bore witness to my metamorphosis! Thank you, thank you. But I didn’t do this for you. I did this for myself. You see, when Mariah May broke my heart, and took everything, I was so embarrassed and so ashamed, that I had to run away from myself.
“And then I realized that the only way out was through the fire. So I rebuilt myself from the ground up, just to look you in the eye. And you know what I saw? Everything I needed to see. Mariah May, you **** faced fraud. You shambolic b*tch!! I’m going to doom your bloody womb. You don’t think I’m real? Darling, it doesn’t get much realer than me! For I am Timeless, TIMELESS, Toni Storm! And your time is OVER!” The fans cheer and Toni takes a bow. We have but two weeks left, is Australia ready? Is AEW ready? Is the WORLD ready for the sequel we never thought we’d get?

She has things to do!
Mone steps into her locker room, and Muppet Mone is sad. Harley tells her chin up. But with just two weeks left, how can Harley convince Mone to give her that title shot?

Kris is sorry? Kris certainly has a lot she wants to say Willow, and Willow has a lot she wants to say to Kris. Willow thinks it is time she just focuses on herself. Kris says just so Willow knows, she never broke the friendship bracelet, so… Kris leaves, and that leaves Willow with a lot to think about.
Midsouth Street Fight: FTR VS Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta!

Just how brutal will the #TopGuys get with the Maniac & Decoder?

Moxley snarls as he grabs a chair, brings it around, and he makes Dax take a seat. Moxley rains down fists, then gets space to BOOT Dax in the face! Moxley shoves Dax down, covers, TWO! Moxley puts a chair in the ring, but Dax SMAC KS Moxley with a trash can lid! Yuta CHOPS Cash, Dax and Mox get in the ring. Mox JAMS Dax up with the chair, then scoops him to SLAM him on the chair! Dax writhes, Moxley goes looking for stuff, and Yuta gets in the ring.
Moxley brings out quite a few things while Yuta SMACKS Dax on the back with that chair! Yuta soaks up heat, then aims again, to SMACK Dax back down! Yuta pretends he hit a home run. Moxley brings in various tools, such as hammers and pliers! The fans go wild seeing those, but Cash CLOBBERS Moxley! Cash goes up, and he FLYING LARIATS! Cash rains down fists, then he DECKS Yuta! Cash rallies on the Death Riders, then TOSESS Yuta out! Cash stomps away on Moxley. The fans fire up as Cash LARIATS Yuta on the apron! Cash rips his shirt away, and he uses it to CHOKE Yuta! BUT MARINA SHAFIR POSTS CASH!
The fans boo as The Problem makes herself known, and then Moxley is going after Dax with the pliers! He wants those teeth, but Dax fights, so Moxley PULLS on Dax’s nose! The fans freak out and tell Moxley he’s sick, but Collision goes to picture in picture!
Dax fights free of the pliers and goes to a corner, but Yuta is on him with CLAWS to the face! The ref reprimands but Yuta stops when he wants to stop. Yuta grins while he soaks up heat, and Moxley stands Dax up to use the pliers on a finger! The ref can again only reprimand as Moxley & Yuta make Dax suffer! Moxley then grabs a chair, and he JAMS Dax up in the corner. Moxley CHOKES Dax with the chair, then wedges the chair into the corner. Yuta throws hands on Dax, then he and Moxley whip Dax into the chair! Dax falls in a heap, the chair clattering with him, and Yuta WRECKS Cash with a dropkick!
Moxley tells Marina to keep on Cash, and she CLAWS Cash’s face! Dax returns to throw hands with Moxley, but Moxley pokes Dax in the face with the pliers! Yuta goes after Chas, Moxley digs the hammer into Dax’s forehead and eyes! Yuta SLAMS the ladder down on Cash’s back! Dax fights back on Moxley, but Yuta attacks! They mug Dax, then Yuta DDTS Dax onto the trash can lid! Moxley goes out to grab the ladder, and Yuta whips Cash into railing. Cash goes down in a heap while Moxley brings the ladder into the ring. The ladder is put along the top rope, then he and Yuta whip Dax! Dax ducks the ladder, comes back and CLOBBERS the Death Riders!
Dax fires hands on Moxley, then grabs the ladder. He simply puts it on the middle rope now, and he whips Yuta. Yuta reverses, and Dax hits the ladder hard! Dax writhes, the ladder falls out of the ring, and Collision returns to single picture. Yuta looms over Dax, digs his knees in, and Moxley brings out the mysterious black bag. Cash crawls in, Yuta stomps him, and Moxley pours out THUMBTACKS! The fans fire up again while Moxley & Yuta drag Cash up. They bring Cash over, then Yuta makes Dax watch! Moxley underhooks the arms, but Cash wrenches out, whips and POWERBOMBS Moxley onto the tacks!!
The fans go wild as Moxley suffers from his own violent desires! Cash then fires hands on Yuta! Yuta bails out but Cash goes to the apron. Cash drags Yuta up, and hits an APRON- NO, Yuta slips inside, fires hands, and he suplexes. Cash fights that, he and Yuta fight for control! Yuta ROCKS Cash, builds speed, but Cash slingshots. Yuta slides under, Cash keeps moving, and Cash DIVES! Down goes Yuta, but then Moxley has Cash! PARADIGM SHIFT to the floor! Moxley snarls, tells Marina to find him a table, and she points to which side of the ring it’s under. They bring the table out, and fans are torn. They like tables, but the hate the Death Riders!
Moxley puts the table in the ring, Yuta CHOKES Dax on ropes, then Yuta CLAWS Dax’s face! Moxley puts that table up in a corner, and Yuta fires hands on Dax. The fans rally for FTR, but Yuta throws more hands. Moxley talks trash on the fans but they boo. Yuta & Moxley reel Dax in, but Dax fights the double suplex! Dax then fires hands, CHOPS, and elbows! MIND BREAKER PILEDRIVER through the table!!! Cover, FTR WINS!!
Winners: FTR, by pinfall
The Death Riders tried to tip the scales, but they underestimated how many enemies they have! But the brawl is still going as Claudio puts White in the ring! Cope has Moxley, White gets Claudio with a BLADERUNNER! The fans fire up as FTR now stand back up, and they join Cope & White in the ring! “This is Awesome!” as Moxley finds himself all alone! Cope tells Moxley to turn around. He does, and staggers into a SHATTER MACHINE! Then Cope adds the SPEAR!! Cope still isn’t done, he drags Moxley around and White says hold on a second. White brings in a chair and hands that to Cope! FTR sets Moxley up on the other chair, and the fans all know what this is!
But so does Claudio, and he drags Moxley out to safety! The fans boo, but Cope grins. He put out the challenge, and as it stands, March 9th could be the most violent match we’ve ever seen! Will Cope make sure the Maniac’s reign of terror ends with a Revolution?
My Thoughts:
A very good Collision, but they sure put in a lot of talking. I know this was prerecorded, and it obviously went up against the Royal Rumble, but seriously, this was a LOT of talking. They put in a lot of hype promos and vignettes for the coming weeks. I’m surprised they’re making the Atlanta Dynamite a “big” episode, but I did really like the promo from Swerve and Ricochet. For one, it’s just great that people in AEW and WWE are acknowledging Lucha Underground. And Ricochet also relating how the fans were rather fickle, and spun it as how he was always “pretending” to be a Face. It does work given how well he’s doing as this American Psycho style Heel. Swerve VS Ricochet for Atlanta is going to be awesome stuff, but I feel like shenanigans will happen to compel a rematch.
Toni Storm had a great promo, and I love that she thinks we had no idea that was her as “Rockstar” Toni Storm. But then Mariah May hyping up Storm VS Aminata is redundant and just filling time. At least Thunder Rosa’s promo kept in mind that Rosa VS Ford was happening. Willow and Kris having a promo here was a touch surprising, but at least they haven’t forgotten that story of Kris trying to redeem herself. Then Harley VS Taya was a really good match, and I figured Harley would finally get that first televised win here. Deonna throwing a fit was fitting, and Harley had a really funny Mone Muppet promo. Now, of course Mone wasn’t going to just say yes to Harley, maybe Harley forces Mone into it with a Title Eliminator situation.
Very good promos from Kyle and Briscoe to set up a singles match for next week’s Collision, but then it seems a bit too soon when we’ve got Kyle & Konosuke VS Buddy & Brody. I did really like the promo Buddy and Okada had, though, with Buddy again punking Okada there. Obviously Buddy VS Okada is going to be happen, and I would think it’s for Grand Slam. Perhaps after next week’s Dynamite, Okada tries to punk Buddy in return, only for Buddy and him to fight, compelling the Continental Championship match. And even if Buddy loses, he will look awesome against Okada, maybe helping build Buddy up towards a different singles title reign.
Good promo from Lio & Action to talk trash on Dante & Darius, and a good, quick vignette from Hologram. Hologram will surely get right back into the mix once he’s back, and he’d also make a great challenger to some midcard titles. We got a really good promo from each part of the TNT Championship Triple Threat, and that was one of the best Triple Threats I’ve seen in a long time, especially when you consider the creativity from these three as three of the best technical wrestlers today. Plus, they did an incredible job with that finish, where Garcia turns things around on Lee and Kyle misses breaking it. The Trios Triple Threat we’re getting will be great, too, but I feel like Undisputed Kingdom wins that.
Very good promo from The Outrunners to hype up their tag match, and that was a really good tag match. The Learning Tree of course had to cheat, though, but then great save by Bandido. He is over his concussion that he unfortunately got when he returned in the first place, and clearly he’ll be challenging Jericho after all. I can only hope that Bandido VS Jericho happens for whatever return to cable television ROH will get, and then Bandido can win the title to make all the “Please Retire!” anti-Jericho fans happy. And even if there are fans who don’t really know Bandido, I would think beating Jericho would help them understand Bandido is that good.
Great opening tag from Joe & Hook VS Nick & Kip, and while of course Joe & Hook, of course Christian would beat them up as a sore loser. I almost thought Shibata was gonna hurry out there, but I guess The Patriarchy has to stand tall once before this feud is over. I’m sure the blowoff is a Six Man Tag, but a part of me wants Taz to dare Christian Cage to put up his Casino Gauntlet contract against either Joe or Hook. At the very least, not getting Joe VS Christian 1v1 before this is done feels like a wasted opportunity, so we gotta see that happen.
Great stuff with LFI’s reunion. Mortos of course destroys Adam Priest, but Caster showing up to do his first open challenge was good stuff. Rush demolishing Caster was also great, and I really hope this time, LFI does stuff that matters. If nothing else, can they get in on the story with the Death Riders just because of the Trios Championships? Rated FTR has said they don’t really disagree with the Death Riders, and I feel like LFI don’t even care what the Death Riders want, LFI just wants gold. And c’mon, Rush, Dralistico & Mortos VS Claudio, Pac & Yuta? That’s a killer 3v3 right there.
Now, speaking of the Death Riders, here’s where things were just a touch messy tonight. They’ve been showing us snippets of the Death Riders on Closeup with Renee Paquette, the AEW YouTube series. Did Cope not even watch the snippets they showed on TV? Because the first part of his promo made no sense when you consider Moxley out and out says he wants to “backfill AEW with a thousand Jon Moxleys,” aka he wants to mold the next generation in his image. Cope saying Moxley has no plan is now debunked. But being this is all a prerecorded episode, maybe Cope did that promo before knowing they were giving us Moxley’s promo on Dynamite.
That said, duh it’s gonna be Cope VS Moxley at Revolution. The Street Fight tonight was a lot of wild fun, and of course it got overbooked with Marina and Claudio helping out, to then cue Cope and Jay White countering that. Great win for FTR out of this, and good tease of Cope going for the Con-Chair-To. Going back to Christian Cage still having his Casino Gauntlet contract, it’d be so fitting if he chose to cash in on Cope at Revolution. Cope can win to “liberate” the world title, only for his archenemy to steal his moment and start us on a new Cope VS Christian rivalry through the Spring and Summer.
My Score: 8.7/10
