The G1 Climax 28 is around the corner and the question is who will win the most prestigious tournament in all professional wrestling, currently there are four favorites to win the G1 and challenge possibly Kenny Omega on Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Block A: Seeing the recent history of the G1, it is most likely that the winner of the tournament will be in this block since the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega, is in block B and the winner of the tournament is generally in the opposite block that the champion will compete, the two favorite to win this block are Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada.

In first place Okada could potentially be the winner because of his long going rivalry with Omega but their last match in Dominion seem to but the rivalry to rest for a while and all roads point to Okada having a rivalry with Jericho in a near future. Hiroshi Tanahashi is the favorite of all the block to win, in first place it could make sense to give Tanahashi one last Wrestle Kingdom main event and to a rival he last faced on 2016 on a title match for the IWGP Intercontiental Championship.

Block B: Like i said before this block has the least chances to win the tournament because of the placement of the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega, The current favorites to win this block and potentially the G1 Climax are Tetsuya Naito and Kota Ibushi. To start, Kenny Omega has mention having problems with Tetsuya Naito right after winning the title from Okada at Dominion and in every interview he has done he has mention or reference Naito but the biggest thing that is not on his favor is the fact he won the G1 Climax last year so that puts him in a bad place already to win again this tournament.

Kota Ibushi of all the favorites has never won this tournament, and ever since his return to NJPW he has been missing a big win that could boost his profile in the promotion and the G1 could be that and having a match in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom with his best friend and IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega and it would be a dream come true for both Omega and Ibushi.

In my personal opinion i would like to see Ibushi or Tanahashi win the G1 Climax and face Kenny Omega for the title on the main event of the biggest show NJPW of the year.
