Update On David Arquette & Marko Stunt After Joey Janela’s LA Confidential
An update on the injuries suffered last night by David Arquette and Marko Stunt!
Last night, GameChanger Wrestling presented Joey Janela’s LA Confidential in Los Angeles, California (see results here), oddly enough without Janela himself who is recovering from knee surgery.
Two performers didn’t come away from last night’s brutal action unscathed as we noted. First, Marko Stunt lost to Eli Everfly via referee stoppage after suffering a leg injury, many believing it was a break of some kind. Since then Marko has updated everybody via Twitter, confirming he suffered a broken leg and is undergoing surgery today:
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on me, or wished me a speedy recovery! Unfortunately I did suffer a bad break in my leg tonight. I have to have surgery in a few hours, and will keep everyone updated

Additionally, the main event which followed Stunt vs. Everfly, David Arquette took on GCW Champion Nick Gage in a bloody, violent match with the title on the line. During the course of the bout, numerous weapons were used including light tubes and after one spot saw Arquette suffer a cut to his neck, he appeared to briefly shoot on Gage before eventually being pinned for a quick three count (as the tweet says, do not watch if you are bothered by violence or blood):
Please don't watch this video if you are bothered by blood, hardcore wrestling, profanity, Nick Gage, or David Arquette. With that said, I'm posting it due to questions being asked by the wrestling community. #JJLAC pic.twitter.com/MdHJE2KqM0

Arquette would no sell the fall and immediately leave the ring while holding onto his neck, but has also utilized Twitter to provide an update after receiving some stitches. Doesn’t look like he’ll be putting himself into any more hardcore matches anytime soon either:
Thank you to all the fans for your love I’m a stitched up. Miss Elizabeth is crying pic.twitter.com/hOJbPgd1Fl

EA’s Take: I know his WCW run was a total joke, but I actually respect Arquette for his recent wrestling run because it’s not being treated like a joke. Props to the dude for having the gall to actually give it a go now at the age of 47. Especially after seeing that video. That was scary.

- Jay Lethal: 0-1, 0 points
Here are your Blue League standings!
- Brody King: 1-0, 3 points

- Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete
My Thoughts:
Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.
Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.
In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
