The Crockett Cup returns this week, Champion Carnival is nearly over, Impact’s second PPV Rebellion goes live! What will we see make the Top 5 Matches?
Well it sure was a busy week with content, and the coming weeks don’t promise to be any easier, but we’re closing in on finalizing our April pool at least! So last week’s match winner was, IWGP Intercontinental Championship: ZSJ vs Kota Ibushi, which breaks WWE’s two week winning streak.
There’s a good chance we get another company to join the pool after this week, but who knows, maybe WWE will continue their hold on the April votes.
Let’s find out!
5. NXT: Johnny Gargano vs Roderick Strong

Snippet from Mitchell’s Coverage:
Fans rally up as Gargano runs in to CHOP Strong! Strong hits back but Gargano wrings out the arm. Gargano swings a buzzsaw but Strong ducks to club Gargano’s back. Strong runs in but Gargano goes up and over to school boy kick Strong! Strong slumps out of the ring but Gargano slingshots. Gargano misses and Strong yanks him down. Strong builds speed but Gargano dodges the wrecking ball to give Strong CANNONBALL! Gargano puts Strong back in the ring and slingshots, but into a fireman’s carry! Strong tosses Gargano up but Gargano huricanranas and SUPERKICKS! Cover, TWO!! Strong survives and fans cheer “NXT! NXT!” for giving them this match. Gargano drags Strong up and CHOPS him in the corner. And again, this time sending spit and sweat everywhere!
Gargano does it again for even more spit and sweat flies! Fans want “One More Time!” so Gargano gives a THIRD helping! Strong flounders around but Gargano puts him up top. Gargano scoops Strnog but STrong slips otu to Olymipc Slam. Gargano slips out and boots Strong, to then hop up and leap. Strong catches Gargano, but Gargano slips out again, only to get caught again! Gargano fights out furiously but Strong just puts him on the apron. Strong sees the spear coming, and makes it a butterfly backbreaker! Cover, TWO!! Gargano survives, but what else would he do in a match like this? Fans rally up and Strong throws hands.
Gargano keeps sitting up and then he hits back! Strong returns the elbows, but Gargano ducks to enziguri! Gargano runs into a boot and kick, but avoids the knee, only to get an elbow. But he gives a discus lariat! Gargano aims from the corner, DIY S- Buckle Bomb! Shining Wizard and backbreaker, to slam! Cover, TWO!! Gargano lives again but Strong won’t let up. Strong has the legs but Gargano resists the turnover. Gargano pries one leg free to kick away at Strong, then he reels Strong in for the crossface! GargaNO Escape!! Strong flails and kicks, but here comes ADAM COLE!
Gargano goes after Cole, but still avoids Strong’s suplex. Cole talks trash as Gargano elbows Strong away. Here come Fish & O’Reilly, but Riddle holds them off! Things get chaotic, and Strong taps Cole only to get an enziguri!! Cole accidentally hits Strong!! Gargano DIVES on Cole! Then slingshot DDT’s Strong! Cover, Gargano wins!!
Winner: Gargano via Slingshot DDT
Rating: ****
4. Impact Wrestling Rebellion: Gail Kim vs Tessa Blanchard

From My Coverage:
Well now, Gail and Tessa prove why they are regarded so highly. This match was a war. Tessa tossing Gail off the ramp was reminiscent of Misawa Tiger Suplexing Kobashi from the ramp to the floor. Tessa tried to finish the match with the Slingshot Suplex, but Gail counters into Eat Defeat, but Tessa kicks out. Tessa hits Magnum, then when Gail kicks out, she transitions into a Cobra Clutch Crossface for the victory. Great match, great passing of the torch moment afterwards, just a really nice moment.
Winner: Blanchard via Cobra Clutch Crossface
Rating: ****
3. AJPW Champion Carnival: Kento Miyahara vs Yuji Okabayashi

From My Analysis:
So this match wasn’t bad at all. The beginning was a little back and forth while showcasing Kento’s personality. However, once Okabayashi cold cocked him, by the time Kento got back in the ring, it was dominated by Okabayashi. Kento was on the receiving end of a lot of offense, and did his best Kenny Omega impression by hitting numerous Blackouts (V-Trigger Knees) and really only hitting signature/finisher moves. So it was a damn good match, but felt very simple and built a lot more desire for Okabayashi than having the Ace win his block for the second year in a row.
Winner: Miyahara via Shutdown Suplex Hold
Rating: **** 1/4

2. Impact Wrestling Rebellion: Full Metal Mayhem Impact Tag Team Championships: LAX vs Lucha Bros (c)

From My Coverage:
Aye dios mio. This was an insane spotfest, but with the tension, the fact they kept introducing more weapons and this being the blow off…I can’t be mad. Spike Fear Factor through chairs, the good ole sit down strike fest, Springboard Spanish Fly through tables. Jesus, there was just so damn much in this match. I do love the fact that Konnan had forks in his pocket that he handed to LAX at some point. There’s a Spanish joke about burritos and forks in there, but I’m not gonna look for it. While the finish was a little awkward, it was still good. Santana driving the fork into Pentagon’s head while on a ladder, with Ortiz in Powerbomb position. Maybe it was supposed to be a Street Sweeper through both tables with the tacks on it, but a Super Powerbomb is no joke either. Not sure if this is Lucha Bros swan song or if they just wanted to take the belts off of them before Double or Nothing. Guess we’ll see.
Winner: LAX via Super Powerbomb through tack covered Tables
Rating: **** 1/4
1. AJPW Champion Carnival: Zeus vs Shuji Ishikawa

From My Analysis:
Well last time these two met in singles action was Zeus’ first and only Triple Crown defense. That match was alright, but not at the level people expected for a championship match. This however, made up for any misgivings of the first. Zeus had a lot of spots that called back to his desperation during his defense against Kento. Removing the padding from the bar that connects the turnbuckle to the post, to choke Shuji, a diving Biceps Explosion over the barricade, a dead lift Vertical Suplex from the apron back into the ring and chops to the back of his neck as the match was winding down. Both men looked fantastic and this was on par if not slightly better than the Zeus vs Okabayashi match. Zeus may have been eliminated after the loss, but this was a very impressive match and hurt no one.
Winner: Ishikawa via Giant Slam
Rating: **** 3/4
Thoughts:
As much as I love Tessa and Gail, I’m going to have to go with my order this week. Champion Carnival: Zeus versus Shuji Ishikawa, was such a fantastic match that had a lot riding on it for the tournament and emotion from their previous encounters. Fantastic match, and one of the better matches in general of the Champion Carnival.
Use Your Head and vote for the match of your choice. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain if the results aren’t to your liking. Just like politics.

Chris King: The Wyatt Sicks’ Wasted Potential By WWE
Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.
Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.
It’s that time of the year again, folks; it’s unfortunate and downright awful that so many WWE superstars got released today. I’m not going to list all of them, but I am going to talk about one of my favorite factions,
The Wyatt Sicks. Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) were something special. After Bo’s brother Bray Wyatt’s tragic passing, WWE felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. Wyatt was one of the most creative and brilliant characters, and Bo would be taking over his brother’s concept and bringing it to life. In 2024, at the end of an incredible documentary highlighting Wyatt’s career and struggles, Bo appeared on the screen portrayed as Uncle Howdy. The last time Uncle Howdy was seen on-screen was at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where Wyatt defeated LA Knight in a Pitch Black Match. Howdy jumped off a structure onto Knight.
This post-credit scene sparked so much speculation and excitement that Wyatt’s brother would carry on his legacy and possibly debut the faction that was Wyatt’s concept. On the June 17th episode of Monday Night Raw, The Wyatt Sicks made their dramatic debut ,destroying the backstage area as well as “murdering” Chad Gable. It was such an iconic arrival for Howdy as he made his menacing walk from the back into the audience who were chanting “Holy Shit.” The Sicks and American Made (Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers) battled for months, with The Sicks being victorious. On the September 9th episode of Raw, The Sicks defeated them, with Howdy getting the win with Sister Abigail.
The following year, The Sicks would move over to Friday Night SmackDown, and it seemed like WWE had a plan in place. They would win the tag team championships from The Street Profits and start to look dominant. Now, what should have happened next is Howdy should have won the United States title. The Sicks could have held all the gold over on the blue brand, but it never happened. The Sicks entered into a never-ending feud with The MFT’s (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga.) It started off exciting, and the WWE Universe was red-hot for their interactions.
After months of repetitive matches and The MFT’s stealing their lantern, the feud grew tiresome and boring. Even Tama asked Solo why they are still holding onto the lantern, as it was destroying them as a whole. Finally on the SmackDown before Mania, Tama
gave the lantern back to Howdy against Solo’s wishes. Please explain to me why both factions fought almost every single week instead of just having one final blowoff match at WrestleMania.
It should have been either a massive street fight or a falls count anywhere match on the grandest stage of them all. Instead, it turned into a meaningless week-after-week extravaganza that benefited no one. The MFTs won the rivalry, and The Sicks don’t even work for WWE anymore. This was the same criminalized creative process that Wyatt dealt with during his first run in the company.
We’ll never know how much of a dangerous force The Wyatt Sicks could have been in the WWE. For all their careers’ sake, I hope they stay far away from the company for as long as possible. Every superstar that was cut deserves better!

Chris King: Bloodline Saga: Is This the Right Call For WWE?
Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns
Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns is once again World Heavyweight Champion after his dominant win over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. On the following night on Monday Night Raw, The OG Bloodline came back together as a well-oiled machine as The Usos stood side by side with Roman. With the WWE Universe asking who would be the first to challenge “The Tribal Chief,” Jacob Fatu shocked the world by answering the call.
Fatu is running hot after his impressive win over Drew McIntyre and feels like he is ready to become the new world champion. This bloodline segment ended Raw, and it picked right back up on SmackDown with even Solo Sikoa and the MFTs involved. This is now two shows that have been centered around The Bloodline saga, and it’s made me question whether or not WWE should be retelling this story.
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa) ran WWE for over four years as Reigns’ henchmen, doing his dirty work to retain his title. Even though Roman has declared he doesn’t want Jey and Jimmy to serve him, it sure seems like WWE are spinning their wheels. Fatu could add a whole new chapter into the story, even if he’s not able to beat Roman at Backlash. “The Samoan Werewolf” could be forced to do the same thing as Jey did all those years ago and fall in line.
In my opinion, I feel like Fatu should be challenging for the Undisputed WWE Championship because that’s a title I feel like he should win. I understand standing up to your blood and trying to prove you’re the best, but I don’t think this is the right move. It feels like 2022 all over again, as The Bloodline is the central focus on both shows. If Fatu doesn’t win, what happens to all his momentum he’s been building over the last two years?
Why did WWE make this the best choice for storyline purposes? Why couldn’t creative have come up with a different challenger for Roman? There are so many other superstars that could challenge The Tribal Chief, such as Rusev, Bron Breakker, Gunther, or even a returning Sheamus.
I just can’t help but question WWE’s logic here, and it kind of reminds me of all the times The Shield reunited. Could WWE be pushing the same storyline too many times here? Could the WWE Universe get tired of this rinse and repeat cycle of The Bloodline Saga?
Are we about to see all the weekly episodes solely focused on The Bloodline again? Will it be cinema… Yes. Is there still money in The Bloodline… Yes. Was it the right call? That’s to be determined!
