Cody Rhodes is here!
The American Nightmare rises from his special underground platform, and heads to the ring to talk with Tony Schiavone again. This is, of course, a second attempt at what Cody was going to announce a couple weeks ago. It is fitting that they are in the birthplace of Cody himself as he finally gives this announcement. “We’re not surprised the arrival of Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle has been strategic.” But this is a short victory lap. The Elite was already looking for something like this. They were already looking for a card where they could get perfect match-ups for the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, even Cody and Dustin Rhodes. So they were looking, and Jericho found them. Now it is Cody and the AEW World Champion as the headliners. Tony knows what this announcement is but Cody hopes the fans will humor him as he rattles off some names.
Eddie Graham. Cowboy Bill Watts. The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. “All of them were titans in our business.” The best bell to bell, best in the box office, “and for those who saw them live, those memories reverberate in their hearts.” But for the cold, sterile historians, there is controversy because those men were also management. Cody finds himself in the same spot. For the last year, Cody has told everyone who asked that he is proud of AEW, the inclusiveness, the pay, the schedule, the fact that they’ll listen! “This is freedom!” Fans give a standing ovation! But when Cody hears the criticism being sent at him, he can’t ignore it. But fans say that “You Deserve It!” to be a challenger. However, Cody’s announcement is that if he fails to win, he will never challenge for the title again. Fans don’t like that decision.
But Cody tells Jericho that is a big “if.” Jericho calls Cody an “entitled Millennial b*tch,” and yet Cody didn’t see in Jericho’s book, A Lion’s Tale, which is on sale at Amazon for $3, that there was the upbringing for Jericho that was so hard. Wow, must have been so hard being the son of a famous hockey player! They practically had the same silver spoon, “you stupid dick!” Jericho dismissed every accomplishment Cody has achieved. If Cody is entitled, then Jericho is a “carny succubus” because the dirty secret is Jericho needs this generation more than this generation needs him. This isn’t about Cody’s dad, but about his mother, his sister, his wife, and the 14 years it took Cody to go from “Undesirable to Un-God-Damn-DENIABLE!” Charlotte gives an even stronger ovation for this!
Cody promises that at Full Gear, he wins to become the new world champion, and Jericho falls back to his Inner Circle about the ground swell that’s coming. Because when The Elite finally gets at The Inner Circle, “we are going to eat you alive!!” The declaration of war has been given! Will Cody fire the first shot dethroning Le Champeon?
The Lucha Brothers and SoCal Uncensored are here!
Pentagon and Fenix may not be AEW World Tag Team Champions but they’re going to get another chance at Full Gear. However, we know that there is a “Bronze Medal” match that will determine the team that joins them and SCU in a Tag Team Triple Threat. However, the deciding factor was a quick one, so that is why we are getting this Full Gear match at all. At this moment, SCU joins English commentary while Lucha Brothers join Spanish commentary to watch this match very closely.
Bronze Medal Match: Private Party VS The Dark Order!
Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy take on Evil Uno and Stu Grayson, both teams vying for a second chance of their own! Who moves on to face the top two teams of AEW for a chance to be THE team of AEW?

Will the young underdogs rise up to the top against two incredible veteran teams? Will Pentagon and Fenix make history after all by being duel tag team champions? Or will SCU continue to be the one and only AEW World Tag Team Champions?
AEW shares a video from The Inner Circle.
Sammy Guevara brought some “options for the bubbly” over to Le Champeon. But Chris Jericho, immediately parodying Cody Rhodes, “can’t focus” but does give Sammy a peck on the cheek. Sammy says Jericho is like a father to him. Hearing that Cody would be Jericho’s challenger at Full Gear, Sammy knew it was already over for Cody. Jericho also parodies spending time in the hyperbaric chamber. Jericho is the face of the company as champion, and being champion means he’s face of the company. Soultrain Jones has known Jericho since he was 12 years old, and he was as driven then as he is now.
Santana dares us to name another man that works harder than Jericho. Cody has to just let go and move on. Ortiz says Jericho is a grown man but Cody is a boy. Cody has no chance. Patricia Bobski, a friend of Jericho’s aunt from church, remembers Jericho as a young boy, and knew he’d grow up to be the AEW World Champion. In her heart, she prays that Cody just survives. Sammy says Jericho is in the prime of his life at 48, “they youngest AEW World Champion in history” (mostly because he’s still the only one in history). Jake Hager has nothing to say. Jones knows Jericho is the Greatest of All Time. Jericho has a training montage. Patricia knows Jericho will “beat the sh*t out of Cody at Full Gear.” Le Champeon speaks for himself, saying he has such a hard time waking up and realizing how amazing he is. Hager still has nothing to say.
Jones says Jericho’s talent is like the Olive Garden’s bread sticks: unlimited. Jericho only has one thing on his plate: drinking a bit of the bubbly. He has to worry about where to go for the best, and that’s a lot of pressure. But it is the responsibility Jericho has to face. “Because I am Le Champeon.” Jokes aside, will Jericho be laughing after facing a motivated Cody at Full Gear?
Jamie Hayter & Emi Sakura VS Riho & Shanna!
Emi and Riho prepare to face off for the AEW Women’s World Championship as mentor and student, but they also bring in two recently debuting women to help them warm up. Will the challenging mentor or the champion student gain a last bit of momentum before Baltimore?

If Emi can use a chaotic combination like that, she might become the new AEW Women’s World Champion! Can Riho rebound in Baltimore against the woman who taught her so much?
Brandi Rhodes continues her dark transformation.
“I have worked so hard to get to where I am today, and yet I’m still constantly dismissed for my merit because of who I am.” She’s only here because of Cody, is just another pretty face. While they were all trying to paint her as the clown, they forgot one thing: “Calling me stupid doesn’t make that so, and now I’ve outsmarted you quicker than you can say ‘bimbo.'” Brandi knows dreams and nightmares, but there is nothing like a night terror. Awesome Kong’s body, Brandi’s brain, and they will tear apart the dreams and make everyone long for nightmares. Brandi doesn’t have authority, not that she’s ever really wanted or needed it. All Brandi needs is lapsed judgement. “They can’t stop her, you can’t deny us.” So the question is: “Who are the bullies now?” Will Brandi and Awesome Kong answer that with actions in the ring?
Brandon Cutler VS Shawn Spears w/ Tully Blanchard!
The Dungeon Master is back, but he might need a saving throw against The Chairman! For those who didn’t see AEW Dark, Spears literally burned The Bad Boy, and he might just do the same to Cutler tonight. Will #PERFECT10N not be denied tonight?

AEW previews Moxley VS Omega, Lights Out!
In other words, it is UNSANCTIONED! Kenny Omega doesn’t want Jon Moxley pretending to be upset that this is now a hardcore style match. “What else were you going to do?” Chain wrestle the Best Bout Machine? Moxley claims he is being treated as a freak, an outsider, being put in a corner. He’s been dealing with this his whole life. Though at the same time, his whole life has been hardcore to the extreme, and is “the baddest son of a b*tch in this game.” Omega thanks Moxley. Omega’s best work wasn’t because he was handed something, but because he had to work for and sacrifice it. Moxley’s at his best when he’s at his worst. Moxley doesn’t want to find someone who brings the best out of him, but who brings the worst out of him. “You ain’t seen nothing yet!” Omega is glad to be going to a dark place with Moxley. But what will we see from two of the best when they get to do the absolute worst to each other?
Kenny Omega & Hangman Page VS Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho!
Before going #LightsOut with the Death Rider, the Best Bout Machine again teams with the Problem Solver to see if they can’t stick it to the Inner Circle this close to Full Gear. Will we see some #RealCowboyShit before Page takes on Pac? Or will the “Spanish God” and Le Champeon get to pop a little bit of the bubbly even before Baltimore?

The Elite regroups while the Inner Circle go to the ring. And then it explodes into another huge brawl!! Everything is coming to a head at Full Gear, which side of this stands tall?!
My Thoughts:
WOW what a great go-home! Everything was dripping with importance, nothing was filler. Pac beating Trent in a real good match and calling out Hangman. The huge announcement of a Triple Threat Tag for the titles already, and Private Party is part of that. They had a great match with Dark Order, and will be a great part of that match, but I can’t say they actually win. They might be there so that if SCU retains, or even crazier, if Lucha Brothers win to be dual champions, it is Private Party that takes the pin. The women’s tag was solid stuff, and Emi actually pinning Riho, that could be a giveaway that Riho retains in her first PPV defense. At the same time, AEW does things differently, it might have been a tease of an even bigger finish.
Spears VS Cutler was of course going Spears’ way, and great to see Janela respond from AEW Dark already. Give us THAT Unsanctioned Match for the post Full Gear episode! Brandi probably doesn’t need this spooky side to her, but her Heel motivation does work. No one should discount her just for being Mrs. Rhodes, and I’m sure she and Awesome Kong will get much more involved after Full Gear towards the next PPV. Cody had probably the best promo of 2019 tonight, and perhaps of his entire career. And those are big stakes, saying he’ll never ever challenge for the AEW World Championship again if he loses. I don’t know if that guarantees he wins or guarantees he loses, but I love that there’s more to this than just Cody proving something to us and himself and to Jericho.
Jericho’s parody of the Cody hype package was amazing. Heel or not, Jericho is always over for his ability to entertain. And we got a really good match out of him, Sammy, Omega and Hangman, and then that brawl was amazing! It managed to encapsulate all the stories, and it helps make the math a bit vague since there was no real end to it on air. Full Gear is going to be a great one-month marker for AEW, and greatly deserved.
My Score: 9.2/10

AEW shares footage from after Dynamite.
Darby Allin made the save for Will Ospreay against Claudio Castagnoli, and Ospreay just wanted a second to talk. Ospreay says if Darby didn’t make that save, Ospreay wouldn’t be finishing this tournament. So just a quick one, Ospreay appreciates it and he thanks Darby very much. Darby says he just has this feeling. The same exact feeling that he had when Bryan Danielson got taken out. The same exact feeling he had when Chuck Taylor was taken out. Something is gonna happen again unless they all do something about it, so what is Ospreay willing to do? Darby says they can just find the Death Riders and put an end to this!
Ospreay says easy, now, tiger. But Darby says something is going to happen unless they do something! Ospreay understands, but can’t Darby see Ospreay’s got bigger things going on? He lost at WrestleDream, he lost at Full Gear, that’s back-to-back PPV loses and that does not happen to Ospreay. He has to regain momentum, and that means going through every single person in this tournament, and that includes Darby. Darby says that’s cute. Darby doesn’t care about Ospreay’s personal problems, or anyone else’s, because this is bigger than all of them. This is about AEW. Next year, there might not even be a Continental Classic if they don’t stop this now.
Doesn’t Ospreay see it? The Death Riders will keep chipping away and chipping away at everything that makes AEW what it is. So what is Ospreay doing? What is he doing about it? Ospreay is trying to win this tournament! He needs his momentum back. He can’t just drop everything. Ospreay needs this! So he’ll tell Darby this as a man who respects Darby: Ospreay respects everything Darby’s doing for AEW, but Ospreay needs his momentum. Then maybe afterwards, knock on his door. If Darby needs someone to fight alongside him, Ospreay’s game. See you next week. Ospreay heads out, but will either of them make it to the Holiday Bash?
Here are the current Continental Classic Blue League standings!
Kyle Fletcher: 3-0, 9 points
Kazuchika Okada: 1-1-1, 4 points
Daniel Garcia: 1-1-1, 4 points
Mark Briscoe: 1-2, 3 points
Shelton Benjamin: 1-1, 3 points
The Beast Mortos: 0-2, 0 points
Mark Briscoe speaks.
“Dem Boys in the house tonight, baby! Kyle Fletcher, I’m coming for you! I need this win, mathematically speaking! I’ma show you how we do! I’ma show you that I’m all dog, baby! All dog! ARF ARF RAA!”
Kyle Fletcher speaks.
“Mark Briscoe, I’m sorry, but tonight, you are just another victim for The Protostar. After tonight, it’ll be 12 points Fletch, and I will see you in the semifinals.”
Kazuchika Okada and Beast Mortos speak.
“Beast Mortos.” Mortos ROARS, but Okada says, “No. B*tch Mortos.” The Rainmaker has some strong words for the menacing minotaur, but will Mortos make sure the Continental Champion does NOT make it to Worlds End?

That was a powerful battle from powerful young women, but it is the former AEW TBS Champion, former CMLL Women’s World Champion, and former inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Champion who is heading to the Tokyo Dome! She will join ROH’s Athena, CMLL’s Persephone, and a Stardom star yet to be determined, who will bring home that International Women’s Cup, and the title match promise that comes with it?

AEW shares more footage from after Dynamite.
Reporters caught up with Mariah May to ask her about the return of Toni Storm, and Mariah said she DGAF! What happened to Toni is the same thing that happened to Mina, and it will be the same thing that happens to Thunder Rosa. Every single woman Mariah steps in the ring with has their hopes and dreams, and then they wish they were never born. Mina should just go back to modeling, because her wrestling career as she knows it is over. Mariah didn’t want to do that to Mina, she still loves Mina. But this is just what Mariah does, and will continue to do to any girl that wants to breathe the same air as her. No one can handle the Woman from Hell.
Rosa can go and yell about whatever bat s*it crazy BS she wants, Rosa just needs to name a time and place for Mariah to end her career! As for every other woman in AEW, or any other company, you all have the same dream. But there is only one reality. The Glamour has spoken, but will it fall on deaf ears?
Backstage interview with Thunder Rosa.
Tony Schiavone is with La Mera Mera and brings up Mariah’s comments. Rosa says time and place? March 16th, 2022, San Antonio, Texas, the time and place Rosa won the AEW Women’s World Championship and knew what she was made of. But it doesn’t matter who you ae when you hold the title! What matters is who you are when you aren’t. And Rosa knows in her heart that she is THE champion, for the people and for all of Women’s Wrestling! And that is something Mariah cannot say! And Mariah is cleaning up a mess with her ex-bestie, Toni Storm, but Rosa has a place reserved for Mariah in Hell!
Speaking of Toni Storm, she walks in and says hello, nice to meet everyone. Oh, sorry, she didn’t mean to interrupt. Hi, she’s Toni Storm, she just wanted to introduce herself. They shake hands and Storm says it is a pleasure to meet Thunder Rosa, as well as the living legend, Tony Schiavone. Okay, sorry, she’ll let you all get back to what you were doing. Rock on! Toni heads out and Rosa lets that… odd interaction go. Rosa tells Mariah that in two weeks, her father will be in the audience to see his daughter fight. And she told him to bring a handful of dirt from the graveyards of Tijuana to remind Rosa where she comes from, and where she’s taking Mariah.
So it will be December 28th, 2024, Worlds End! Rosa VS Mariah for the AEW Women’s World Championship, in a TIJUANA STREET FIGHT!! La Mera Mera has spoken, will she bury Mariah in the gave Mariah has dug for herself?

There has been dysfunction showing itself in Top Flight Airlines, as evident by last week’s Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal. 10 Man Tag: Daniel Garcia, Orange Cassidy, Komander & The Outrunners VS MXM Collection & The Premier Athletes w/ Mark Sterling!
While there are many things going on right now, from the Continental Classic to the war with the Death Riders, these teams are getting into the NBA spirit by having a 5v5 All Star showdown! Will the TNT Champion, Freshly Squeezed, the Commander of the Skies and the Youngest Men Alive build up some momentum for the holidays? Or will they get dunked on by Mansoor, Mason Madden, Tony Nese, Josh Woods & Ariya Daivari?
Well of course “Smart” Mark has to take over the introductions. And he says that the Premier Athletes have decided to “let the losers of St. Louis,” and of course these “model citizens,” join in on the pregame cheer. So when they say “Athletes,” you say “Rule,” nothing else! Hands in, boys. Oh, and they would be honored for MXM to put the tips in. Mansoor & Maxon put on finger protection before joining in. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!” Sterling never learns. The teams sort out and Garcia starts against the Technical Beast. The bell rings, the fans rally up, and Woods taunts Garcia. The ref reprimands, but Nese trips Komander up! Hot tag to Mansoor and then MXM both go after Komander. Mansoor pulls on a leg but Komander’s stuck in a backwards Tree of Woe, so Mansoor gets both legs free. MXM then hauls Komander up, CATWALK LEG DROP! Then they POSE! The fans are torn but Mansoor blows a kiss, and even mocks Garcia’s dance, while Collision goes picture in picture.
Mason joins in on the dance and Garcia wants after them, but the ref keeps him and the team back. MXM kicks Komander around, stomps him, and Mansoor ROCKS Komander to ropes. Tip touch tag to Daivari, and they mug Komander. Daivari spins Komander around to stomp him, then he tip touch tags Mansoor. They double whip Komander to a corner, then Daivari runs in, Komander goes up and over, then ducks under Mansoor, Mansoor LARIATS Daivari in the corner! Mansoor panics, Komander knuckle locks and CHOPS! Komander goes up and up, tightrope walks, then MISSILE DROPKICKS Daivari!

Mansoor sputters but Truth tags Garcia. Garcia climbs up, he rains down fists, and he goes to nine, puts up his dukes, and he dances on Mansoor’s face! Garcia’s pick-up team is feeling it, and so is St. Louis, while Collision goes to break.
Collision returns as Komander tags in, but Nese & Daivari run up to mug him and The Outrunner! They toss out Turbo & Truth, then TOSS Komander to the corner! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!” But then Garcia & Cassidy drag Nese & Daivari out of the ring! They brawl, Nese THROWS Garcia into railing while Daivari DECKS Cassidy! Komander is up and he builds speed, but Sterling trips him up! The fans boo but the ref missed that because Mansoor is distracting him! Komander grabs Sterling by the tie and the fans fire up, but Daivari CLOBBERS Sterling! The fans boo more but Daivari puts Komander on the apron.
Nese is on the apron and he suplexes Komander up and in for Woods, who then holds Komander up. Mason runs in, BOOT POWERBOMB COMBO!! Mansoor is up top now, FROG SPLASH!! Woods covers, Team Garcia all breaks it up! The fans fire up but now it’s a brawl! Team Garcia and the #PremierCollection all tumble out, Mason & Mansoor get Cassidy up! The team celebrates, that was a Freshly Squeezed victory! But while this was a big win and a lot of fun, it is time to focus on Worlds End. Will Garcia make his way out of the league to head for the Continental Championship? Will Cassidy overcome the Fatal 4 Way odds to finally be THE AEW World Champion?
Don Callis speaks.
“I had a bad night last night. A couple of turncoats who used to be under my employ, ‘Powerhouse’ Hobbs and Mark Davis, did a little switcharoo, a little number on the Don Callis Family. I woke up today with a hole in my heart because of that, but then I got fantastic news. The gods have smiled upon me because I am getting, in two week’s time, at Worlds End, I am getting my revenge on Powerhouse Hobbs. That’s right, a match against the Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita, has been granted. And it’s in two weeks at Worlds End, and I can’t wait.
‘If you thought everything was coming up the Don Callis Family, I’ve got one more thing to be excited about! Kyle Fletcher is getting ready right now to be in the main event tonight! And run the table and mathematically ensure that he goes on to Worlds End and then wins the Continental Championship, when he beats that degenerate, Mark Briscoe tonight on Collision. That is why the Don Callis Family is the true one percenters of professional wrestling. And you’re gonna see it tonight, and you’re gonna see it at Worlds End. And Hobbs, I’m gonna send you right back to the unemployment line.” Callis has made his promises, but will Konosuke and Kyle be able to keep them?

Literally last minute, and the Sussex County Chicken snatches victory from the jaws of defeat! Callis is very upset by this upset victory, and now Mark has new life in the C2! Cassidy & Willow come out to celebrate with him, could Mark make himself one of the semifinalists going into Worlds End?
The Death Riders have hijacked a camera!
Jon Moxley checks if they’re rolling, and Wheeler Yuta says yeah, it’s rolling. He knows how to work that thing? Yeah. Moxley says FTR are about to get lost on their way home tonight. Oh, here they come. The Death Riders watch as Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood walk through the backstage area. Then Marina Shafir stands in their way. Claudio & Pac snatch FTR with blindfold bags! FTR fights but Moxley helps outnumber the #TopGuys, and they drag FTR out to the parking lot. Yuta keeps the camera on him as he smiles and laughs at the carnage happening just on the other side of the wall. Will the Death Riders personally see to it that there is NO ONE to stand against them?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here to wrap Winter is Coming Week, and I do appreciate they’re trying to get more and more people into the Death Rider story, as they should. To that end, good promo from Darby and Ospreay to try and get Ospreay to consider his part in all this. I get Ospreay’s side, he just wants to wrestle, win, and become champion again, but considering Claudio is in Gold League with him, he could end up a target, compelling Ospreay to join the fight. And quite the closing moment, with Death Riders going after FTR because they saved Cassidy from their attack. It’ll be quite the AEW Justice League moment when names like Cassidy, FTR, Ospreay and a few others stand against The Death Riders. And I say Justice League because DC Comics is Warner Brothers Discovery, too.
Speaking of the Continental Classic, awesome matches tonight for Blue League. Mortos was of course losing to Okada but he looked great against the champ. Good promo from Callis to hype up both the International Championship match of Konosuke VS Hobbs and tonight’s main event, and what an awesome win for Mark Briscoe. Kyle is leading at 9, but Okada is second at 7 and Mark is third at 6, and things could really get wild in the last round of Blue League competition. I feel like it should still come down to Okada and Kyle because Okada is the champ and should have a chance at defending his belt, and Kyle could potentially face Ospreay again.
Great 10 Man Tag from Garcia, Komander, Cassidy & Outrunners VS Premier Athletes & MXM, but it was clearly all for the fun so that the fans could stay energized during these long tapings. Good squash match win for Kris Statlander, but I feel like Lynn didn’t sell being held up for a 20+ stalling suplex much at all. Equally good squash match win for Toni Storm, and I absolutely LOVE that Toni Storm is pretending this is her first time in AEW. She got reset to her old persona so apparently that came with a memory reset, that is brilliant. Very good promo Mariah, and a very good promo from Rosa, including Toni’s part. A Tijuana Street Fight for the title, and it keeps both women strong no matter who wins.
Great tag match of Top Flight VS Lio & Action, but also a great use of Leila as a distraction in the wrong way. I almost thought she was going to turn and join Lio & Action, but Leila’s done fairly well as a Face now so I feel like she’ll stay a Face. She could easily just give a promo about how Lio & Action didn’t care about her and that’s why she sticks with Dante & Darius. Private Party VS Lio & Action is going to be a great, but I would think Quen & Kassidy win out. And then great International Women’s Cup Qualifier from Willow VS Hayter. Willow was the natural choice given her accolades.
And while it’s great for Julia to return in person, AEW sure fumbled it. The lights went out during the match, aka way too early, and then I don’t think she did a good job choosing elbow gloves. Those things were falling down the whole time, it looked more like she had a big scrunchy wristband. But hey, Hayter VS Hart in a House Rules match for Worlds End would be great for them both, and it’d be quite the way for Hart to get a return win.
My Score: 8.9/10
