FTR w/ Tully Blanchard VS Private Party!
AEW was just waiting for the NBA to wrap it up before lighting the fuse! Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood really turned the locker room against them when they went after the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, except for Tully! Will Tully guide FTR to victory like he does Shawn Spears? Or will Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy get even on behalf of the living legends?
Cash and Quen start with the bell and tie up with knuckle locks. Cash tries to bring Quen over, manages to tag in Dax, but Quen gets away and Kassidy backs him up! The ref keeps things from getting out of hand and the teams go back to their corners. Tully gives FTR some tips before Dax and Quen circle. The crowd is on Private Party’s side but Dax gets the headlock. Dax grinds hard, Quen fights up and out, but Dax comes back to run him over. Things keep moving, Quen hurdles but Dax counters the hip toss with a hip toss. Quen boots him away then gets up to arm-drag Dax around! Dropkick! Cash runs in but gets a dropkick! Kassidy comes in, DOUBLE dropkicks!
The crowd fires up as FTR bails out to regroup with Tully. Tully cools FTR down as Quen waits. Cash wants the ref to see him use the tag rope as he tags Dax, but Dax is outside the ring! That’s not a legal tag! Quen goes after Dax, wrenches, but Dax rakes eyes! For a team that likes to #FollowTheRules, they love to bend those rules and find loopholes. Dax kicks Quen in the head then brings him to tag Cash. Quen gets fed to Cash’s knees! Cash toys with Quen, drags him up and around and throws a STIFF European Uppercut. Csah scoops and slams then tags Dax. Dax drops an elbow but misses! Quen wrenches, brings Dax over, tags Kassidy, and Kassidy kicks the arm! Kassidy wrenches, brings Dax around and tags Quen. Quen leap frogs to jam the arm!
Quen wrenches Dax and keeps him from Cash to tag Isiah back in. Kassidy climbs to drop an ax handle on the arm! Kassidy blows a kiss to Cash but Dax gets Kassidy’s arm. Kassidy wrenches Dax to shoulder breaker, then he tags Quen. Kassidy whips Dax, Cash misses the tag, atomic drop to enziguri for Dax! Then the sweep, and “SAY CHEESE!” Double stomps! The crowd is fired up as Quen covers, TWO! Quen hammerlocks Dax, Dax fights his way up but Quen spins Dax around. Dax pulls Quen to the corner but Quen fights FTR off! Quen elbows Cash down and then forearms Dax out of the ring! Quen wants to go out after Dax but the ref has him stay back. Quen still goes out the side and Dax says to leave him alone.
Dax goes around the way, slides in but Quen pursues. Cash tags in but Quen is ready for the sneak attack! Quen decks Cash but Dax tackles Quen and whips. Quen hops over but runs into a unique double clothesline! The ref reprimands but Cash blows a kiss back at Kassidy before he basement dropkicks Quen! Cash drags Quen up to CHOP! Quen gets some air but he uses that to his advantage and kicks back. Cash keeps on Quen and chokes him on the ropes! The ref counts, Cash lets up at 4 and Quen sputters. Dax pokes at Quen but the ref sees him. Dax stays back, Cash drags Quen up and bumps Quen off buckles. Tag to Dax and FTR whip to drop toehold and elbow drop!
The crowd boos Dax as he scrapes Quen with his laces. Dax grinds Quen’s face on the ropes! The ref counts, Dax stops at 4, but he drags Quen back up to bump off buckles. CHOP! Dax drags Quen back up but has to keep him from Kassidy. Dax fish hooks Quen’s face then elbows him down! The ref reprimands but Dax just sneers. Dax drags Quen over and pulls him against the ropes! The ref counts, Dax pushes Quen down at 4, and then brings Quen back around to snapmare and wrap on a chinlock. Dax leans on Quen as he squeezes tight, but the crowd rallies up. Quen fights up, reaches, but Quen arm-drags free! Dax brings Quen around, Quen throws forearms and reaches, but Dax holds on.
Both men reach for their tag partners, Dax reels Quen in for a scoop but Quen slips out! Quen ducks, sleeper holds Dax, but Cash tags in! Cash sunset flips and Dax LARIATS! Cover, TWO! Cash keeps his cool as he kicks Quen toyingly. The crowd rallies, Cash wraps on another chinlock and thrashes Quen around. Cash puts as much weight as he can on Quen’s head but Quen endures. Quen fights up as the crowd rallies. Quen slips around and back suplexes Cash down! Both men crawl for their corners, tag to Dax! Dax intercepts Quen and brings him away to throw him out of the ring! Tag to Cash and Cash LEAPS, but he only gets railing as Quen moves! Quen gets back in the ring, Cash gets in to tag Dax, but Kassidy gets the tag, too!
Kassidy rallies on Dax with big clotheslines! Cash gets one, too! Kassidy fires off forearm “Shots! Shots!” on Dax! Dax shoves, Kassidy dodges to springboard stunner Cash! Kassidy boots Dax away, slips out and dodges Cash to SUPERKICK! Kassidy enziguris Dax, then slingshots for a STUNNER! Cover, TWO!! Kassidy grows frustrated but he drags Dax back up. Dax blocks the suplex to suplex Kassidy instead, but Kassidy uses ropes to spring and slip around. Dax standing switches, Quen tags in before the O’Conner, and then springboard crossbodies! Cover, TWO!! Quen is shocked but Dax escapes! Quen drags Dax back up but Cash trips up Kassidy! Quen DECKS Cash for that, but Dax rolls Quen. Quen slips out, body scissor clutch, TWO!!
Dax scoops but Quen cradle counters, TWO!! Quen trips Dax to jackknife cover, TWO as Dax bridges up! Dax spins Quen around to a backslide, TWO! Quen is up, Dax tags Cash and whips Quen. Leap frog and hurdles, then back the other way, Cash SPINE BUSTERS Quen! Cover, Kassidy breaks it! The crowd is fired up as everyone but Dax is down. Dax stalks Kassidy and drags him up. Kassidy throws Dax out hard, then slingshots for the PLANCHA! But Tully saves Dax and Kassidy hits the floor! The crowd boos Tully but Cash grabs Quen to POST him! Tag to Dax, FTR coordinates and Quen rides the GOODNIGHT EXPRESS!! Cover, FTR wins!
Winners: FTR, by pinfall
Cash and Dax are 6-0 in AEW and looking even strong than ever! Will Tully lead FTR to championship glory?
Jon Moxley speaks.
“The MJF campaign. Very amusing.” Fun for TV. MJF has said and will say a lot of bad things about Moxley, but Moxley’s used to that kind of stuff. Moxley’s an easy target. MJF missed the obvious targets, though. MJF should talk to Moxley’s wife, she’s got a two page list or something. But none of that bothers Moxley. Moxley does have to say, the people that feel the need to talk about themselves all the time just rub Moxley the wrong way. Where Moxley’s from, the toughest guys don’t have to say much. They don’t hide behind words. MJF talks a lot, so Moxley wonders if MJF is hiding something. MJF thinks he’s the future of the business, and Moxley would be “hard pressed” to disagree.
Moxley will admit MJF is talented. “So sickly talented in every way.” MJF says he’ll lead AEW for the next 25 years, and Moxley hopes that’s true. This company deserves to succeed for decades into the future, and Moxley wants MJF to be that man he says he is. Moxley can’t go another 25 years. Not the way he feels getting up in the morning. He maybe has 18 months. Moxley wants MJF to fulfill all that potential, and surely MJF will, when he moves out of his parents’ basement and lose his virginity, then he will become AEW World Champion. But that isn’t happening September 5th. Moxley will beat the hell out of MJF on September 5th. Moxley will kick him so hard, headbutt him over and over to split MJF’s skull with his skull. Moxley will drop MJF on top of that skull.
When MJF’s lungs are burning with exhaustion, when they’re in the fire fight deep in the game, Moxley will be in heaven while MJF will look for a way out. And then the whole world will find out what MJF has been hiding. Will Moxley expose MJF when these two go All Out?
AEW hears MJF’s response.
“Genghis Khan. Castro. Napoleon. All these men were homicidal maniacs, and they all pale in comparison to Dictator Jon.” Last week, Moxley attacked from behind “like a gutless coward.” Guess Moxley’s too afraid of MJF to try from the front. Moxley doesn’t realize that his “unwarranted actions have consequences.” Just look at the state MJF is in. Some day, MJF wants to have a family, with kids. And he’d like to play with his kids. “Papa! Papa! Can we play a game of catch?” No, son, we can’t. Dad’s in too much pain. And that’s on Moxley! The Paradigm Shift isn’t a wrestling move, it’s an ABOMINATION! Shouting like that hurts MJF’s neck. Wardlow helps him stay upright and MJF’s lawyer takes over.
“Mr. Friedman really wanted to do this all on his own, but I’m going to have to continue, we have very important business to conduct here today.” Mark Sterling says that we need to put on record that the Paradigm Shift, aka the double underhook DDT, is a dangerous move, and according to health professionals Sterling talked to in the past week, “Possibly deadly.” That move almost ended MJF’s career, “and the jury’s still out.” If Moxley can come out and end anyone’s career whenever he wants, who is next? Wardlow? The guy who gives MJF his gum? Nina and her beautiful smile? No. Think about your loved ones. That’s why last week, there is a petition calling for the banning of Moxley’s Paradigm Shift. We have five MILLION signatures! That’s five MILLION people who care about the future of this business.
So Sterling’s law firm, which he does not name, drew up this contract. This contract specifically states that the Paradigm Shift is BANNED from the coming AEW World Championship match at All Out between Moxley and MJF. All Moxley has to do is sign it. Why wouldn’t he sign it? He’s a man of the people, a fighting champion and a badass. Why would a badass need one move to beat one man? Frankly, if Moxley doesn’t sign it, they’ll sue Moxley’s ass so hard, he’ll have to part his hair to poop! Don’t test Sterling or his law firm! They’ve never lost and they aren’t going to start now! They’ll take Moxley’s money, house and cars, and just when he thinks he has nothing left, MJF will take the title. The ball is in Moxle’s court now. Will Moxley agree to give up his most powerful move just to shut MJF up?
8 Man Tag: The Butcher, The Blade & The Lucha Brothers VS The Natural Nightmares & Jurassic Express!
Andy Williams, Braxton Sutter, Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix is a combination we’ve seen be very effective as recently as Super Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dark. But we also saw on Dark that things are getting tense between the two teams. Will they be able to stick together against a fresh combination like Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus?
The teams don’t sort out as Butcher, Blade and Lucha Bros just attack! The Natural Nightmares and Jurassic Express are all kicked out of the ring and the crowd boos. The Lucha Brothers get help with double whips so they can both FLY and take out their opponents! Pentagon and Fenix get up and fire up as they bring QT up. Fenix CHOPS, Pentagon CHOPS, then put QT in the ring. Blade runs in to BOOT QT in the corner, then Butcher adds a splash! Blade CHOPS then feeds QT to a LARIAT! QT sits up in a daze but Butcher suplexes him up. QT slips out, shoves Butcher into Blade and that sends them both into Pentagon and Fenix! QT then dodges Butcher to handspring ENZIGURI!
The crowd fires up as QT pops Blade up to ROCK with that right! QT aims at the Lucha Bros but Butcher CLUBS his slingshot down! Butcher clubs away, waistlocks, but QT throws him into ropes. Fenix SHORYUKENS QT at the ropes, Pentagon slides to enziguri! Butcher brings QT back up, tag to Blade, and they double back suplex! QT lands on his feet to tag in Dustin! The Natural fires off big hands on both Butcher and Blade! Dustin whips Blade to clothesline! And arm-drag! And another mar-drag! Dustin has the armlock and grinds Blade down. Dustin drags Blade up, wrenches and snapmares to drop a leg on the arm! Dustin drags Blade back up, Blade powers out and Butcher gets a cheap shot! Dustin uppercuts Butcher for that, then ROCKS Blade!
Blade distracts the ref, claiming something’s wrong with his throat but that’s just so Butcher and Fenix can drag Dustin out for a mugging! Pentagon adds on as the crowd protests. The ref reprimands the three and Butcher puts Dustin in for Blade. Blade chokes Dustin at the ropes, tags Butcher in, and they bring Dustin up to double headbutt! Butcher drags Dustin up, whips him to a corner hard, and Dustin hits buckles to hit the mat. Butcher stands on Dustin but stops at the ref’s count. Butcher drags Dustin up, whips him into the corner, and tags Pentagon. Pentagon wrenches an arm and KICKS Dustin’s leg! And KICKS it again!
Pentagon taunts QT and Jurassic Express before he KICKS Dustin’s leg again. Pentagon brings Dustin around, tags Fenix, and Fenix springboards and spins to drop an ax handle. Fenix taunts QT and Jurassic Express before he kicks Dustin to ropes. Fenix has Dustin on the ropes with a choke and an arm wrapped around the rope. The ref counts, Fenix lets up and AEW goes picture in picture, #BBLBvsNNJE.
Fenix taunts QT and Jurassic Express, the ref is busy with them and this gives Blade an opening to choke Dustin on the ropes! Pentagon gets his cheap shots in while Fenix keeps taunting QT and Jungle Boy. Pentagon drops an elbow on the leg and Fenix drags Dustin up to club him down. Dustin throws uppercuts but Fenix fires off body shots and a CHOP! Fenix brings Dustin around to whip to ropes. Dustin stops and clubs Fenix back! Dustin staggers up but Fenix tackles him at the ropes! Dustin flops out of the ring, Fenix distracts the ref again and Blade jumps down to stomp Dustin! The crowd protests, but the ref is too busy keeping Dustin’s team at their corner!
Pentagon drags Dustin up to BUZZSAW kick! The crowd jeers Pentagon but he just waves his hand dismissively. Fenix goes out and fetches Dustin into the ring to club him down. Fenix clamps onto Dustin with an armlock but Dustin endures. Fenix clubs Dustin, the crowd rallies up and Dustin fights his way up. Fenix clubs Dustin back, waistlocks and knees him low, then whips him to ropes. Dustin stops himself to uppercut Fenix! Fenix kicks the clothesline away to spin and ROUNDHOUSE Dustin down! Cover, TWO! Fenix drags Dustin back up, whips him to the corner, but Dustin uses that to hit Butcher and Blade down!
Dustin boots Fenix and uppercuts Pentagon but Fenix runs back. Dustin tosses Fenix up and over and out of the ring! Fenix crashes, Dustin flops, but Blade tags in. Blade hurries to intercept Dustin, only to get a spinning powerslam! Both men are down, the crowd rallies up and AEW returns to single picture. Dustin and Blade get up, hot tags to Pentagon and Luchasaurus! Luchasaurus clobbers Pentagon, BOOTS Butcher, and JB DIVES to clip Butcher into barriers! Luchasaurus CHOPS Pentagon, Fenix flies in but get a kick and a whip for a boot! JB returns to DIVE onto Fenix! Fenix hits barriers hard and almost lands on the Metro Brothers. Oh hey, the Metro Brothers are in AEW?!
Luchasaurus BOOTS Blade down, JB FLIES out onto both Blade and Butcher! Pentagon still says Cero Miedo, but gets a TAIL WHIP for it! Choke grip, JURASSIC CHOKE SLAM! Standing moonsault! Cover, TWO!! Luchasaurus keeps his cool as Butcher gets in. butcher ducks the roundhouse to run Luchasaurus over! Butcher keeps moving, Luchasaurus kips up and collides with Butcher! Both men stagger, Butcher spins but the buzzsaw is caught! Blade this a STUNNER! Butcher hits a SHINING WIZARD!? Blade runs into QT’s shoulder, QT slingshots to forearm Butcher! QT dropkicks Blade, and hits a CUTTER on Butcher!
Fenix returns, QT dodges but Fenix tiger feints and rewinds to HEEL KICK! Pentagon adds a SLING BLADE on QT! JB shoulders Pentagon, up and away with the springboard DDT! JB dodges Fenix but gets a dropkick! Dustin runs at the Lucha Bros, Pentagon back drops but Dustin uses that to give Fenix a DESTROYER! JB returns but Pentagon is ready for him! Back kick and the package, but where is someone to help? Blade is up top, they are off sync and that upsets Pentagon. Tag with that shove and Blade argues with Pentagon. JB waits as the two shove more, he rolls Blade up!! Jurassic Express and Natural Nightmares win!!
Winners: Jurassic Express & Natural Nightmares, by pinfall
Pentagon didn’t even try to help Blade! And Blade knows it, so he shoves Pentagon again! They keep shoving, Butcher and Fenix step in while the other teams celebrate. That partnership broke down after all, and Eddie Kingston barges out? Kingston wants everyone to chill, and asks what’s going on. “We were out on the indies, we were suffering, and now we’re on TNT!” They know drama, but why is there drama here? Why aren’t Blade and Butcher tag champs? Why aren’t the Lucha Brothers tag champs? They’re all better than any other tag team here! Hey, chill, guys, c’mon. The only reason they lost is because they were divided. No more!
Kingston says the Butcher is one of the baddest men in the company, yet he’s going to argue like a child? The same goes for Pentagon being the craziest luchador in the world. He should be knocking dudes out! Kingston and Blade especially, they traveled the world together for years. They’ve paid all the dues and understand the only one left is death. “So what’re we doing here?!” And yes, Fenix, you, too. Kingston loves and respects Fenix, because he is one of the greatest luchadors ever. They are going to take over. But not if they’re all divided. Walk with Kingston, and everything they want will be theirs. Real talk, real life, let’s hug. They group hug, but Kingston winks? Is he helping these four or using these four?
AEW hears from Britt Baker.
“Hi, guys! Dr. Bri-” Wait, what is that sound? What is that sound?! Rebel/Reba doesn’t know, but we see it’s Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford making out. Guys, c’mon, you’re in the gym! Kip pretends he was just doing his curls. 69… thousand! Stop. It’s cute and all, yes, because Britt loves love, but as a dentist, she has to inform them of the risks. “Streptococcus mucus is the number one cavity causing bacteria, and how is it transmitted? Human saliva, which you’ve been exchanging a lot lately.” But Britt can help! She’s a role model and is going to give them “couples special” of free dental care for one whole year. All she needs from them is a little help with something minor. It’s Big Swole and her obsession with Britt.
Swole signed the contract for a match with Britt, but didn’t state what kind of match. Ler’s make Big Swole put her money where her big mouth is and make it a handicap match! Britt and Rebel invite Penelope to join the team. To sweeten the deal, Rebel can do Penelope’s make-up for a year for free. Free? Shut up, Reba. Penelope is in for that! The deal is struck, but will Britt really be able to hide behind her assistant and the Superbad Girl so easily?
AEW returns to Tony Schiavone in the ring.
Tony introduces a man coming off what is the biggest win in his career. It’s Orange Cassidy! Freshly Squeezed got even with Chris Jericho in their epic rematch, and now he and Best Friends head down to the ring to join Tony. Cassidy shoulder leans on Tony and Tony congratulates him on the win. Cassidy being a man of very, very few words, he just looks around at the cheering fans. Before he thinks of anything to say, Chris Jericho appears! The Demo God has a mic and has finally given up on the orange juice stained jacket as he paces on stage.
“Forgive my interruption, but I know that Orange is a man of few words, and I wanted to get a few words in first, and those words are this. Congratulations, Orange Cassidy, for beating me last week on Dynamite.” That’s a surprise. Jericho says it’s rare that someone beats Jericho here in AEW. Jericho has only been pinned 3 times since October 2nd, 2019, the very first episode. One of those times was to Cassidy, the guy who puts his hand sin his pockets. And while that seems embarrassing on the surface, deep down Jericho is actually proud of Orange. Cassidy proved he’s learning from Jericho, and proved to the haters that he has what they say he doesn’t: heart, desire, courage and “what it takes to be a superstar here in AEW.” And for that, Jericho applauds Cassidy.
As a matter of fact, Jericho wants to toast Cassidy. But before that, there’s something “stuck in my craw,” and that’s as it stands, the series is 1-1. That means they need to have a tiebreaker! The crowd agrees, and Jericho says they can have the third match in the ring, which they’ve done and done well. But Jericho wants to take things to a different level. Considering Jericho is the man behind “one of the greatest gimmick matches of all time, involving a briefcase and a ladder,” Jericho wants something special. His idea is based on the two of them. Cassidy loves orange juice, Jericho loves the bubbly. So it just makes sense for them to have this tiebreaker to find out who the better man really is, in Jericho’s newest creation: The Mimosa Mayhem Match.
Now, obviously you are wondering what kind of match that is. And maybe this will answer your questions. A promotional video is already made up to advertise it as part of All Out! “On September 5th, revenge will be served freshly squeezed in the first-ever… Mimosa Mayhem Match! What will happen when 80 gallons of 100% pure orange juice is mixed at ringside with 500 cases of A Little Bit of the Bubbly?” The only way to win is by pinfall, submission, or ring-out into a tank of mimosa! The mastermind, Jericho, has done it again! The Demo God of AEW proudly presents the Mimosa Mayhem! You’ll have to see it to believe it!
So there you go, Cassidy. Never been seen anywhere before. The only ways to win are pinfall, submission, or dunked into an 80 gallon vat of juice and bubbly. That’s a moneymaking match that the world will want to see! So what is Cassidy’s answer? Does he accept the challenge for Jericho VS Cassidy III, Mimosa Mayhem? Cassidy gives a thumbs up! Jericho says Cassidy made the right decision. Now, a toast! But of course, Jericho needs his friends to join them. The Inner Circle comes out with bottles of the bubbly and they flank the ring. Jericho says it’s just a toast. They don’t want to be rude. Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz get on the apron, and here’s to Cassidy. They chug, and then attack!
Best Friends and Cassidy are mugged 5v3 and Hager SPINE BUSTERS Trent! Chuck gets mugged by Santana and Ortiz, then Sammy feeds Cassidy to the JUDAS EFFECT! Cassidy is in a daze, but they’re not done with him! Hager drags Cassidy up and he’s upside down, for them to pour bubbly all over! “You look thirsty!” Cassidy is getting drenched with champagne! Jericho SLAPS Cassidy and the Inner Circle all flip him off. Will Jericho get even for his $7000 jacket by dumping Cassidy into a tank of mimosa? Or will Cassidy force Jericho to drown his sorrows at All Out?
Six Man Tag: The Elite VS The Dark Order’s Numbers 3, 4 and 5!
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks once again join forces against Alex Reynolds, John Silver and Alan Angels as the battle for AEW heats up! Will the Elite OG crunch the Numbers? Or will the Beaver Boys and Angels prove they were right to #JoinDarkOrder?
The trios sort out and Nick Jackson starts with Angels. They tie up, Nick wrenches to a wristlock but Angels slips through to wrench back. Nick uses ropes to flip through and break free to then dropkick Angels down! Angels goes to the ramp, Nick shoulders him then slingshots up and over to spin. Angels ducks the roundhouse, uses the steps to get air, but Nick blocks the huricanrana to bring Angels up. Angels slips out of a bomb but walks into a back elbow! Nick uses the ropes to spring up but Angels jump back into the ring. Nick just springboards again for a flying arm-drag! Nick sweeps the legs to wrench the arm again.
Angels pulls hair and backs Nick down. Angels whips, Matt tags in before Angels hurdles Nick. Nick waistlocks, Angels switches, but Nick spins around for Matt to slingshot arm-drag Angels away! The Bucks double dropkick Angels, then dropkick the Beaver Boys! The crowd fires up as Angels is in a corner. Matt runs in but Angels boots him away. Angels runs into Matt’s Northern Lights suplex! The Polar Express takes off, but the Beaver Boys stop it a few stops short. They go after Matt, reel him in, but he DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS them away! Tag to Nick, Nick tags Omega. The Bucks whip Angels, double elbow him down then roll him for a wheelbarrow.
Omega CHOPS Angels, Nick back kicks, then they combine for a wheelbarrow cutter Kotaro Krusher combo! Omega covers, but the Beaver Boys break it! The Bucks throw the Beavers out, then aim for DOUBLE PLANCHAS! Omega has Angels to wrench and CHOPS Angels off his feet! Omega brings Angels up to CHOP off his feet again! And again! Omega fireman’s carries Angels, “YOU! CAN’T! ESCAPE!” Rolling senton hits, but Silver anchors the moonsault! Angels clubs Omega low, then shoves Omega down to the outside! Reynolds has a chair and while Angels distracts the ref, Silver BOOTS the chair into Omega! The Numbers set the chair on Omega’s chest and Angels LEAPS to DOUBLE STOMP the chair into Omega!
The Bucks come out to help Omega but Silver kicks Matt to then suplex him up. Reynolds builds speed in the ring, and DIVES for a tope suicida BRAIN BUSTER! Reynolds feeds Omega to Angels for a cover, TWO! Angels keeps on Omega and drag shim to a corner. Tag to Silver and the Numbers mug Omega. Silver throws uppercuts then rams his shoulder into Omega. Silver headbutts Omega while the ref reprimands, and AEW goes picture in picture, #ELITEvsDO.
Silver forearms Omega then bumps him off buckles. Tag to Reynolds and he stomps Omega. Reynolds throws forearms, whips Omega to ropes, and then elbows Omega down! Cover, TWO! Reynolds steps on Omega’s face then chokes him on the ropes! He stops at the ref’s count, but Angels gets a cheap shot in! Omega gets to an open corner, Reynolds drags him up to put him back in the Dark Order corner. Tag to Angels and he RAMS into Omega. Angels throws haymakers and stomps a mudhole but the ref counts. Angels stops at 4, tags Silver, and Silver adds his own stomps now. Silver drags Omega up, throws big forearms, then tags Angels back in.
Angels runs in to forearm smash Omega, then snapmares him down to a chinlock. Omega endures as Angels grinds him down. Omega fights up, fights back with body shots, but Angels knees low! Angels whips, Omega reverses but Angels slips out of the tilt-o-whirl to kick, kick and enziguri! Angels handsprings back up as Omega flops to a corner. Angels climbs up top, takes aim and leaps, but Omega moves! Omega runs and CLOBBERS Angels with the lariat! Omega crawls to his corner, Angels crawls to his corner, hot tags to Nick and Reynolds! Nick dodges and fires off his kick combo! Roundhouse, back kick, spinning roundhouse, then he runs at Reynolds in a corner. Reynolds elbows Nick first away as AEW returns to single picture.
Reynolds hops up but Nick mule kicks his legs out! Reynolds is stuck, Nick runs at Angels but is put on the apron. Nick enziguris Angels away, springboards away from Silver to dumdum stomp Angels down, then somersaults to give Reynolds a DRAPING BACKSTABBER! The crowd is thunderous as Nick tags Matt. Nick Penalty Kicks Silver from the apron! Matt whips Reynolds, Reynolds reverses but Matt goes up and over for Nick to SHINING WIZARD! Then the Bucks coordinate, bulldog dropkick combo for Reynolds! The Bucks fire up with the crowds and Matt drags Reynolds up. Matt whips Reynolds to a corner, tags Nick and then Nick tags Omega.
Nick whips Matt at Reynolds for a BIG forearm! Nick runs in to clothesline! Omega runs in but misses! The Bucks are dragged out by Silver and Angels, then thrown into barriers! Silver clotheslines Omega! Angels adds a forearm! Reynolds clotheslines then whips Omega to the other corner for Silver to ROUNDHOUSE! Silver feeds Omega to Reynold’s rolling elbow! Silver enziguris and Reynolds STUNNERS Omega into Silver’s GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover then jackknife cover, TWO!! Omega survives and the Numbers can’t believe it! But Silver and Angels play defense as Reynolds drags Omega up. Reynolds gets Omega in the Canadian rack, but Omega slips off to elbow back!
Omega gives Silver a SNAP DRAGON! Angels runs into a SNAP DRAGON! Reynolds swings a clothesline but Omega boots it away, to then V-TRIGGER Reynolds down! Tag to Matt! Matt coordinates with Nick on Reynolds, gut wrench, but Silver disrupts the springboard! The Beaver Boys each have a Buck, Silver TOMBSTONES Nick, and then Reynolds TOMBSTONES Matt onto Nick! Nick rolls out, Reynolds tags Angels and Angels is up top. FLYING DOUBLE STOMPS for Matt!! Cover, Omega breaks it! Omega fires off on Angel for that Coup de Grace but the ref has to pull him off. Omega isn’t legal so he has to go to the corner. But while the ref is distracted, Silver uses wrist tape to CHOKE Matt!!
Matt flails, but he fights against the mugging! He arm-drags and SUPERKICKS Silver! Nick comes back as Angels boots Matt. Angels hops up and QUEBRADAS INTO DOUBLE SUPERKICKS!! Nick tags Omega then goes up and FLIES out onto the Beaver Boys! The Bucks and Omega coordinate on Angels, ELITE INDIETAKER!! But they’re not done yet, Omega brings Angels up for the Electric Chair, ONE WINGED ANGEL!! Cover, The Elite wins!!
Winners: The Elite, by pinfall
Victory is sweet, but wait, why is Omega getting a chair? Omega brings the chair into the ring and sets it up upside down. He drags Angels back up but Matt moves the chair before the POWERBOMB! What is wrong with Omega that he wants to destroy Angels?! The Bucks cool Omega off and he says he’s fine. Is that true? Is Kenny Omega (not) okay?
Backstage interview with Tully Blanchard and FTR.
Alex Marvez says that on the special Thursday Night Dynamite next week, there will be a Tag Team Gauntlet Match to determine the #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships! The winners will challenge Hangman Page and Kenny Omega at All Out on September 5th! And we already know the order! We start with the #4 ranked Natural Nightmares, Dustin and QT, against the #3 ranked Young Bucks! And the winners of that will face the #2 ranked Best Friends, and then the winners of that match-up go up against FTR, the now #1 ranked team!
So a two-part question for Cash and Dax. First: What are their thoughts on the Tag Gauntlet? Second: What is the new relationship between FTR and Tully? First, Cash answers the second part. FTR wants to be the best, and Tully says to be the best, you need the gold. So to be the best, they will learn from the best. And Tully says that’s the point. It is about going from “almost the best,” stepping over the threshold, and becoming THE best. Everyone will look up at them, and that is where FTR is destined to go. And it doesn’t matter who makes it to through those first two matches, those teams will have to take on FTR, and FTR will be fresh and “on them like white on rice.” Then it’ll just be September 5th, title match. That is the path FTR will walk.
Dax says FTR is the pinnacle of tag team wrestling today. But Hangman come sin and asks FTR what the hell about last week with the attack on Rock ‘n’ Roll Express! FTR try to calm Hangman down and give him a new beer. FTR and last week, that has nothing to do with Hangman. That’s personal business, all business. But Rock ‘n’ Roll Express came to Tag Team Appreciation Night, FTR wanted to honor them, but they turned their backs on FTR and disrespected them. FTR did what they had to do. As far as faking the knee even before that, Dax had to, because after the last 7-and-a-half years of what The Elite has been saying about FTR, Dax had to test them. Dax had to see if he could trust The Elite, and if he could trust Hangman. Hangman passed because he came with Dax backstage.
Now, the gauntlet is coming. It has Best Friends, who could win. It has the Natural Nightmares, who could win. But it also could be the Young Bucks, who Hangman and Omega have already beaten. When Hangman did, he stepped out of their shadow and became his own man. But what happens if the Bucks win the gauntlet, face Hangman and Omega again, but win? Hangman goes right to where he was, in their shadow. The most important thing to FTR right now is winning the gauntlet to go to All Out to face and wrestle a man that they have the utmost respect for, with the AEW World Tag Team Championships on the line, and that man is Hangman. A toast for good luck. Tully says to #FearTheRevelation. But will all be revealed come September 5th?
Darby Allin VS Will Hobbs!
The undead daredevil is back on Dynamite and he’s raring to go. He’s heard Ricky Starks’ warning, will Darby’s actions send a message back?
The second Darby gets in the ring he shotgun dropkicks Hobbs out of the ring! Darby then slingshots to the apron, slingshots back in as Hobbs swipes at him, then runs and DIVES to tope him into the railing! Darby throws off the jacket to put Hobbs back in. The ref has Darby wait and checks on Hobbs. Hobbs glares at Darby and the bell rings as he runs at Darby in the corner! Darby boots back, hops up and leaps, but Hobbs catches him! Hobbs tosses Darby up but Darby lands on his feet! Darby chop blocks Hobbs then whips. Hobbs blocks it with his power, and grins as he whips Darby instead. Hobbs sends Darby flying with that BIG back drop!
Hobbs drags Darby from the ropes, hauls him right up to slam him right down! Darby gets to an apron, Hobbs says, “I need this!” Hobbs clobbers Darby in the corner and throws big body shots. The ref backs Hobbs off, but Hobbs comes back to yank Darby right up! Darby lands hard, Hobbs covers, TWO! Hobbs grows frustrated with Darby and repeats, “I need this!” Hobbs wants his first win so he can be part of AEW, but Darby CHOPS him! Hobbs shrugs it off so Darby CHOPS again. Hobbs knees low, dares Darby to get back up, but Darby slips under, only to run into a SPINE BUSTER! Cover, TWO!! Darby survives and Hobbs grows further frustrated.
Hobbs drags Darby up, scoops him and carries him around, but Darby fights back! Darby flips over for the throwback STUNNER! Darby runs and springboards to trust fall body check! Hobbs is down, Darby climbs up top, COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Darby wins!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall
The Embodiment of Willpower couldn’t conquer Darby, but Taz talks some smack from commentary. “Team Taz is flourishing. The Machine, Brian Cage, FTR World Champion. Ricky Starks… You know Ricky well.” But there’s a NEW member of Team Taz! The newest member is going to show up right now. And guess what? He’s also named Darby. What is Taz talking about? This is a bigger and better looking Darby. It’s Darby Starks! AKA Ricky Starks doing a cheesy cosplay and imitation of Darby. “Darby… It’s not every day you can live your dreams. But it’s every day that I live my nightmares.” That’s why no one likes Darby. But the two things Darby likes are skateboarding, and turtles. “And being reckless, and jumping on a man’s back, shredding him open with thumbtacks because… Life is a joke. Ha. Ha. Ha.”
Darby is so busy looking at Starks that he doesn’t see Cage sneak in from the crowd! Cage CLOBBERS Darby with the FTW belt! Starks gets in the ring now and shouts, “You wanna play with me, Darby, huh?!” Starks washes off the face paint on his own face as he says, “That’s what you are!” Darby is a JOKE, a CLOWN! The difference here is that Starks doesn’t need face paint to be somebody! He IS somebody! He is ABSOLUTE! Starks is always going to be better than Darby in every single way! Life is a joke, and Darby’s the biggest joke of all! And then Cage holds Darby up for Starks to JAM the skateboard into Darby’s chest! Starks climbs up and Cage keeps Darby down, as Starks steals the Coffin Drop! Taz gloats over how great his guys are, but is this enough to keep Darby down?
Sammy Guevara returns to the stage.
The Spanish God has his cue cards while AEW goes picture in picture. “Dear Matt. I want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry I put you out. I’m sorry you can’t catch chairs! I’m sorry Sammy is an idiot.” Wait what? Why is it in red, too? Because “Sammy is about to be… BROKEN!” Sammy just now notices his cards are changed. “Consider him… DELETED!” Uh oh. And then Matt Hardy SMACKS Sammy with a chair! Hardy jams Sammy again, then gives him another SMACK! Hardy grabs the last cue card to put it by Sammy’s face. Hardy then clubs away with furious fists, then grabs the chair again. But before we see what else Hardy is going to do to Sammy, AEW goes to break!!
AEW returns and Hardy looks at Sammy with wild eyes. Hardy brings the chair back up for another SMACK! Sammy writhes, Hardy makes sure he understands they’re going to finish this! Hardy drags Sammy up and throws him off the stage, through the timekeeper’s table!! Hardy walks down and says this is what it’s come to! Sammy stirs in the wreckage but Hardy brings out another chair! The referees hurry out but Hardy wants to use that chair to hit Sammy again! The refs talk Hardy down as others get Sammy away. “It’s not over until I END him!” Hardy and Sammy have not yet begun to fight! Who will survive when these two finally have it out in the ring?
AEW hears from the NWA Women’s Champion, Thunder Rosa!
“The fans have been asking for it. Social media has been asking for it. TNT and the AEW Women’s Division, not so much.” Thunder Rosa has heard Hikaru Shida’s open challenge. If you don’t know Rosa, let her introduce herself. Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa, from the NWA! She has come here to help Shida, and to help herself, to bring both of their women’s divisions to the next level! “To actually put it on the map and get the respect that we deserve!” So for All Out, Rosa isn’t here for scraps. She is here for the title! All Out, Rosa has a request. She speaks in Japanese, then translates “for all those that speak English and Spanish,” she is here for that championship and nothing else! Will Rosa become a dual promotion double champion!?
AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament Finals: The Nightmare Sisters VS Ivelisse & Diamante!
Brandi Rhodes and Allie made it through Penelope Ford & Melanie Cruise, as well as Big & Lil Swole. La Sicaria and the Cuban Diamond made it through Rachel Ellering and Dasha as well as Anna Jay & Taynara Conti. But finally, the cup is on the line! Who makes history and be crowned the best women’s tag team in AEW?
The teams sort out, Dustin makes “Lil Brandi” and “Bran-Bran” fight, and Ivelisse starts against Brandi. Brandi and Ivelisse tie up, Brandi waistlocks but Ivelisse drops down to knee Brandi away. Ivelisse gets up, Brandi cools off and applauds Ivelisse. They circle again, tie up, and Ivelisse wrenches to a wristlock. Ivelisse kicks then wrenches more, but Brandi rolls and handsprings to wrench back. Brandi reels Ivelisse in for a headlock, grinds Ivelisse, and hits a headlock takeover. Brandi rolls to bring Ivelisse to a ghost pin, TWO! Brandi poses and the crowd cheers but Ivelisse keeps her cool.
Ivelisse and Brandi tie up again, Ivelisse gets around to elbow Brandi back! Ivelisse kicks the legs then fires off palm strikes. Brandi tries to counter punch but Ivelisse blocks to kick the legs out and kick Brandi in the chest! Ivelisse drags Brandi up, wrenches and tags in Diamante. They mug Brandi with knees, then double hip toss her down! Cover, ONE! Brandi scrambles away and tags in Allie. Allie and Diamante circle, tie up and Allie kicks low. Allie bumps Diamante off buckles, throws big haymakers, then brings Diamante out for knees. Allie runs but Diamante waistlocks. Allie bucks her off, Diamante wheelbarrows and arm-drags Allie away! And then another arm-drag for an armlock!
Diamante thrashes Allie around, brings her up but Allie whips Diamante out of the ring! The crowd cheers as Allie taunts Ivelisse with “Kiss this!” Ivelisse and the ref argue, Diamante swipes at Brandi but Brandi jumps over to SUPERKICK Diamante down! The Nightmare Sisters are in control as AEW goes picture in picture, #AEWWomensCupFinals!
Brandi stomps Diamante and drags her up to put her in the ring. Brandi gets away with all that as Allie covers, TWO! Allie keeps on Diamante with a rain of right hands. Cover, TWO! Allie keeps her cool as she drags Diamante up. Allie TOSSES Diamante by her hair, then takes a bow. Diamante is in a corner, Allie stands on her head! The ref counts, Allie lets off at 4 and blows a kiss to Aubrey Edwards. Allie drags Diamante up to whip her into the Nightmare corner and stomp a mudhole in. Allie tags Brandi, Brandi adds her own stomps. Brandi stops as the ref counts 4 but Allie gets a cheap shot in. Brandi stomps more, tags Allie, and Allie taunts Ivelisse again.
Allie stomps Diamante more, brings Diamante up and throws forearms! Diamante ends up in the corner, Allie CHOPS her, then brings Diamante out for more forearms. Allie whips to clothesline Diamante down! Cover, TWO! Allie grows frustrated with Diamante and keeps her from Ivelisse. Allie brings Diamante up, tags in Brandi, and the Nightmare sister mug Diamante. Brandi bumps Diamante off buckles, and scrapes her face off ropes! The ref reprimands, Brandi apologizes, but Diamante elbows back! Diamante kicks back then runs, but Brandi follows to BOOT her down! Cover, TWO!

Double underhooks, but Ivelisse back drops Brandi out ONTO QT! Allie staggers up and ROCKS Ivelisse with that right! Diamante runs at Allie and wheelbarrows for a STUNNER! Ivelisse snapmare rolls to KICK Allie down! High stack cover, Ivelisse and Diamante win!!
Winners: Ivelisse & Diamante, by pinfall (Women’s Tag Team Cup winners)
A HUGE victory over the team that at least saw themselves as the #1 seed. Madusa is here to be part of the presentation. Ivelisse and Diamante are given gold medals as well as bouquets of roses. Ivelisse and Diamante throw down the roses?! They’d rather hold up the flags of Cuba and Puerto Rico to show their Latin pride! Will that pride lead these two on to further incredible victories?
AEW sets things up for Thursday Night Dynamite!
First off, Chris Jericho joins commentary again! And of course, there’s the AEW Tag Team Gauntlet, winners move on to face Hangman Page and Kenny Omega for the titles at All Out! Then, after what we saw between them tonight and in weeks prior, Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara will settle things in a TABLES MATCH! And to get Moxley’s response to MJF’s litigation, it will be the AEW World Championship contract signing! We will see if Moxley gives up his Paradigm Shift to keep from losing everything else! Plus, the apparent 3v1 handicap of Britt Baker, Rebel/Reba and Penelope Ford VS Big Swole! The deck is stacked but can Swole beat the odds?
AEW TNT Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Brodie Lee!
The Elite thwarted The Dark Order earlier tonight in the 3v3, but this is going to be 1v1 as The American Nightmare defends his newly completed belt against The Exalted One. Mr. Brodie mockingly said that when he wins and takes that belt from Cody, he’ll gladly give Cody back the old, incomplete one as a consolation prize. Will Cody make Brodie eat those words in this Saturday Night Dynamite main event?
The introductions are made, the completed belt is raised, and this battle of leaders begins!
Cody and Brodie go right at each other and Cody kicks first! Cody fires off hands and stomps Brodie in a corner! Brodie shoves Cody away, then dropkicks him down! Brodie drags Cody up to scoop and throw out of the ring! Cody hits the floor, manages to get up but Brodie comes around to throw him into railing! Brodie looms over Cody as the crowd boos. Brodie drags Cody up for a GERMAN SUPLEX! Cody manages to get up but Brodie reels him in. Cody slips up and over the powerbomb but he runs into a SUPERKICK! Cody staggers around, comes back but Brodie SUPERKICKS again! Cover, TWO! Brodie grins but seethes as he paces about. Coach Arn Anderson checks on Cody but Brodie brings Cody back up. POWERBOMB! Brodie seethes again as he just looms over Cody rather than covers. Brodie brings Cody up again, for ANOTHER POWERBOMB! And then he brings Cody up a third time, for the DISCUS!! Cover, Brodie wins?!
Winner: Brodie Lee, by pinfall (NEW AEW TNT Champion)
The Exalted One DECIMATED the “Prince of Pro-Wrestling,” and no one can believe it! Cody barely stirs and medics come out to check on him. As for Brodie, The Dark Order floods the ring to celebrate with their leader. Tony Schiavone gets in and says that was complete domination. Brodie brings down the straps as he says, “NOBODY thought we could do this! Nobody believed in the Dark Order! Nobody believed in Brodie Lee!” That includes Tony. Those people “created this monster,” and now Brodie is a problem for ALL of AEW! Brodie says with the TNT Championship comes power and comes the authority. The Dark Order is now on top!
Medics bring a backboard for Cody. Brodie did more damage to him than we realized. But Brodie keeps talking about how “people like you, executives like you, created me.” They held him down and didn’t give him a chance. But when he got his chance, what did he do? “I knocked it out of the damn park!” Tony can’t deny that. This is the new champion, Mr. Brodie Lee of the Dark Order. Cody is carried out of the ring on that backboard, Brodie tells Tony to leave the ring, and the Dark Order continues to celebrate. The Exalted One’s excitement aside, is Cody going to ever even wrestle again? Cody manages a thumbs up, but the Dark Order creeps closer. Arn fights them off only to get mugged 12 to 1!
Brodie SUPERKICKS and ROCKS Arn, then the Numbers clear out security and medics to wheel Cody back out!! Brodie dumps Cody and his stretcher over! The crowd boos but can’t do anything to stop this as the Dark Order blocks medics, security and referees at the entryways! Brodie uses a mysterious bag to CLOBBER Cody in the head! Brodie shows Arn the belt as he shouts, “You made me! People like you!” Brodie stands over Cody triumphantly as Cody’s own brother, Dustin, and friend, QT Marshall, are dragged out to join him!! When did they have time to attack the Natural Nightmares?!
Brandi hurries out to shield her husband but the damage is done. Anna Jay is there, and she goes after Brandi with a SLEEPER HOLD! The Star of the Show chokes out Brandi and Brodie laughs! Brodie tells her that she’s done her job, and now the entire Nightmare Family is at the Dark Order’s feet. And Brodie dumps out the contents of that bag to reveal what Cody got hit with! It’s the shattered pieces of the incomplete TNT Championship belt!! Cody was broken by his creation! “That belt’s yours. This one is mine!” AEW has entered a new era, a dark era. Will the Dark Order give the orders from now on?
My Thoughts:
Wow, quite the episode for this special Saturday episode. Though I’m sure it would’ve been this good even on Wednesday. We sure got a lot of tag team wrestling tonight but I suppose that’s the point. AEW really wants us to understand they’re big on tag team wrestling, and that message was very clear tonight. Opening right away with FTR and Private Party, that was a really good opener. FTR wins and moves right up to the #1 spot apparently. I’m not sure why AEW felt the need to announce an order of the gauntlet, but I suppose said order makes sense. It is made to look as if FTR is guaranteed their shot at the champs for All Out, but that likely means they don’t win. At the same time, FTR VS Omega and Page would be amazing, and could bring about the formation of that AEW Horseman faction, where either Hangman turns on Omega or Omega turns on Hangman.
Given the Six Man, I’m thinking Omega turns. The match was great stuff but Omega wanted to again destroy someone even after winning. Omega feels like he’s going to go full Heel, split off from The Elite, and he could be the surprise fourth man for Tully’s stable. FTR get the tag titles, Spears and Omega each go for the singles belts. Moxley has a good promo, MJF and his team have a good promo, and I like the twist in the story. Now, obviously as with everything MJF’s campaign team has done, the petition is fake as hell but the contract probably isn’t. Moxley will surely still sign it, but then he can use some other move of his to beat MJF. The contract signing segment might even be Moxley hitting one last Paradigm Shift before he has to put a hold on it.
Thunder Rosa calling Shida out on the open challenge is great stuff! And it’s a strong sign that AEW might be working closer with NWA for a time. It was already acknowledged that Ricky Starks was an AEW champion, maybe Rosa will be part-time in AEW to give us further crossover. Either way, Rosa and Shida are going to have an incredible match. And speaking of Starks, his segment with Cage and Allin was great stuff. Starks finally says what we were all thinking: Darby is the “I like turtles” kid. Darby got beat down but I’m pretty sure he’ll be just fine. This has to bring about an FTW Championship match for All Out, right? And speaking of, I love the idea Jericho has for his tiebreaker with Cassidy. But the fact there is a tank of mimosa as a way to win/lose, that has to give away that it’ll be a ring-out victory, not a pinfall or submission, right? It’d be a waste of orange juice and bubbly otherwise.
I think it’s pretty clever of Britt to bribe someone to do her dirty work. For one, it seems Britt isn’t going to be in any shape to compete on her own anyway, unless that itself is a ruse. I feel like that’d be a great way for Britt to get her win. She lets Penelope and Rebel do the heavy lifting, Swole looks to turn it around anyway, and then surprise! Britt’s been 100% all along! The Women’s Tag Cup Finals were great, and with Brandi and Allie claiming to be the reason for the tournament, Ivelisse and Diamante winning makes a lot of sense. And of course, that TNT Championship was the shocker to perfect effect! It isn’t that Brodie won, it’s that Brodie won handedly! Cody is broken down, his Nightmare Family gets beat up alongside him, and the Dark Order looks incredibly strong right now. I wonder if AEW will think to bring Blood & Guts out so Dark Order can take on The Elite/Nightmare Family in a huge blow-off.
My Score: 9.3/10

The One & Only got away with murder, but there’s nothing that can be done now! Ricochet has NINE points, will he be headed to Worlds End?
Adam Cole heads to the ring!
The fans cheer as the Panama City Playboy returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom, and yes, they join in for the “BOOM~!” and the “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY~!” Cole grabs a mic, but he keeps his eyes on the ramp. That’s because we all know who’s next. MJF makes his entrance, but with a handful of security guards in front of him first. And not even AEW security, that’s his own personal security. MJF grabs a mic and has them cut his music. The fans boo but MJF tells them, “If I wanted your help, I’d ask for it. Sit down and shut up.” The fans tell MJF to STFU, but MJF shrugs that off.
MJF tells Cole that MJF is frustrated. It’s because for the past few months, MJF has had to listen to Cole say MJF is Cole’s biggest enemy! If memory serves, and MJF’s memory always does because unlike the fans here, he isn’t a complete moron… Didn’t Cole turn on MJF? But then does Cole realize he has bigger enemies out there? Like spray tan, cracks in the floor, gusts of win, and maybe… a cavity. Because last MJF heard, Cole’s dentist isn’t seeing him anymore. Cole was already staring daggers into MJF, but now he’s pissed. MJF has Cole calm down, and he tells the fans to shut up so he can shoot straight.
When MJF was the longest-reigning and greatest AEW World Champion of all time, Cole was nothing more than MJF’s cute little sidekick. That ate Cole up inside. Cole wanted to be MJF. Cole wanted #TripleB. But the sad truth is, Cole had many opportunities to win the title before MJF got anywhere near it. It’s almost like when it comes to Cole being elite enough to become world champion, just like his “s*itty little ankle,” Cole blows it. MJF laughs at his own joke, and then tells the fans he is talking, it is not that complicated. But this is why MJF doesn’t buy the hogwash that Cole turned on MJF because MJF would turn on Cole first.
Cole turned because he, like all these shmucks, is jealous of MJF. And who can blame Cole? MJF is rich, handsome, funny, entertaining, and then look at Cole. For crying out loud, Cole used to be ADAM COLE BAYBAY. Now, he’s just a crack baby! Cole asks if MJF is done. Was that the last line? Because it felt like MJF practiced that for two weeks in front of a mirror. But MJF killed it, really. Cole could come back with childish comments to hurt MJF’s feelings, but he won’t. Cole could mention MJF has had two surgeries on that fake head of hair of his while only in his 20s, which is hilarious, but he won’t.
Cole could talk about how MJF pulled some strings to get his girlfriend hired, like the real politician he is, but Cole won’t go there. Cole could talk about how every single time MJF enters a room, everyone waits for him to leave because he is loud, obnoxious and annoying as hell. But Cole won’t go there. Because Cole is not like MJF. They are nothing alike. That is why the friendship was ruined. Because, MJF, the truth is you say Cole is a failure, but in virtually every wrestling company Cole has worked for, he is the longest-reigning champion in so many!
In this very building, Cole bled BUCKETS against Kyle O’Reilly, wanting to prove he was one of the best in the world, and that is exactly what he did! Does Cole have regrets? Sure. Are there things Cole wishes he could take back? Absolutely. But Cole does NOT regret turning on MJF. The only reason it drives MJF insane is because Cole beat MJF to it. That’s MJF 101: Get close to someone, then turn on them. It’s what MJF does. Cole just did it better than MJF, and MJF knows it.
But Cole has been thinking, trying to understand what’s going on in MJF’s head, and he finally figured it out. MJF is terrified of having anyone close to him, because he feels it is a weakness. That hit a chord? Because not only does MJF act like a child, he thinks like a child! MJF knows in his heart that he was going to be the one to turn on Cole first! DAMN RIGHT HE WAS!!! MJF realizes he let the cat out of the bag. MJF says congrats, Cole, he solved the mystery! A regular Scooby-Doo! Great job, Adam.
But you want the truth? Here it is. The fact of the matter is, last year at Worlds End, MJF had every intention on stabbing Cole in the back that night. Cole just got lucky. When #BetterThanYouBaybay started, MJF didn’t give a damn about Cole. Cole was nothing more than a pawn. But MJF will admit, he did eventually start to care. For the first time in MJF’s life, he cared about someone else. Fans mockingly go, “Aww…” But MJF says that is just when Cole became a liability. And since Cole’s “a fragile little freak,” him jumping off that ramp and exploding his ankle made him a distraction!
Distractions, liabilities, emotions, there are no room for those when all you should be concerned with is maintaining the world championship! But Cole doesn’t get it, does he? Last year was a fluke. Cole ain’t the Devil, he just beat the Devil to it. But this year, Worlds End, December 28th, the same show where Cole tried to end MJF’s world, MJF ENDS Cole!! MJF throws down the mic and the fans are torn. Cole smirks and says MJF ends things then? Well, how about Cole ends this? COLE DECKS MJF! The guards rush in, but Cole fights them off! MJF sends more but Cole SUPERKICSK! And SUPERKICKS! And SUPERKICKS!
But then MJF LOW BLOWS Cole! MJF tells the fans to shut up! MJF takes out the Dynamite Diamond Ring! But then The Kingdom rushes out here! MJF runs away from Matt Taven & Mike Bennett, but he vows this ends at Worlds End. We have one week left, is that the last week Cole has in AEW? Or will MJF finally lose the one thing he has left in that diamond ring?
Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.
Lexy Nair is with the #BornAgainKristen and brings up her trying to make amends with Willow Nightingale last night, as well as making the save when Harley Cameron & Penelope Ford were beating Willow up. Kris says what she and Willow have to discuss is between them. But as far as her and Penelope go, they’ve got a lot of history, and if Ford wants a fight, Kris will give her a fight. Then speaking of history, Kris still has her eyes set on the TBS Championship, can she tells us more on that?
Kris says she looked back on 2024 and she had a downward spiral that started with losing that title. Maybe if she wins it back, Kris will right her wrongs. On that note, Mercedes Mone, you don’t have an opponent for Worlds End so here Kris is. Let her know when you’re ready for round two. Kris heads out, will she prove to everyone that she is still the Galaxy’s Greatest?
Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.
AEW returns and Lexy is now with Freshly Squeezed. In exactly one week, he will compete against three other men for the AEW World Championship. There are a lot of combustible elements at play, and Cassidy says yeah, we saw that on Dynamite. Jay White, Hangman Page and Cassidy can’t exactly have a conversation. So really, Cassidy wants them to listen. “Between now and Worlds End, Jon Moxley can run and hide. He can hide behind his goons, he can run away in a pickup truck. But when that bell rings in seven days, he has nowhere to go. He will be in the ring with us. Us three. And you both know that we need to remove Jon Moxley from the equation.
“We can. We’ve done it. And after that, us three, we can fight for the AEW World Championship and one of us will become the AEW World Champion. Just something to think about. See you guys on Dynamite.” Cassidy is ready to remove the Maniac from the throne, but will the Switchblade and Cowboy listen to reason?

Kris, after the year I’ve been having, I was planning on taking Worlds End off. I was planning on going to the Ritz in Boston.” The fans boo Boston, but Mone says since it’s the holidays, Mone feels like being nice. She already beat Kris once anyway, so she’ll just beat her twice! At Worlds End, you see that money changes everything, because Mone is the greatest TBS Champion of all time!
The challenge has been accepted, and Mone is looking to be busy before the New Year. Will Kris make her regret it?
Big Boom AJ & Big Justice return to the ring.
They’re getting Christmas Collision ready to bring the BOOM, but out comes Chris Jericho, who is still ROH World Champion after overcoming Matt Cardona last night at Final Battle. And he has Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” Morrissey with him as he asks if AJ has a permit for being here tonight. Did they talk with Mayor DeBlasio? Because they certainly didn’t run this past Jericho. Do they know who he is? Big Justice says yeah, he knows! “You’re a JACKASS!” Jericho is taken aback, but the fans agree with Justice. The Bad Apple says this is why dumbass kids should be sitting and not heard. Jericho says yeah!
And if being a jackass means he’s the King of New York, then Jericho’s the biggest jackass! And besides, Jericho talks for everyone here saying we do not want AJ & Justice here! The fans boo, they disagree with Jericho. But Jericho says they don’t even have Costcos in New York! New Yorkers shop at bodegas. Fans are torn, because they kind of agree. Jericho says his favorite is the Walgreens a few blocks over in Flushing. And speaking of Flushing, that’s where AJ & Justice belong: in the toilet! This is the Hammerstein Ballroom, the House that Jericho built! The fans boo that, it’s the House that Hardcore built.
But Jericho says there’s no time for goofy gimmicks like BOOM~, or bandit masks, or scissoring! Scissor me, Bad Apple~! But then wait! The Acclaimed is here! Well, Anthony Bowens is, at least. Bowens pushes past The Learning Tree and he joins AJ & Justice in the ring. Bowens has the music cut, and he tells Jericho that he doesn’t get why Scissor King is catching strays, but you caught his attention. Jericho is trying to intimidate a man in a walking boot and an 11 year old child while spouting nonsense about being the King of New York. Why doesn’t Jericho do what he has asked so many others in the past: SHUT THE HELL UP!
The fans cheer but Big Bill says, “As the Learning Tree always says, when a man tries to silence another man, he’s probably afraid of the truth.” The fans do cheer Big Bill because he is from New York. Bowens says he has no idea what that means, Bill. But he does know we’re live on TNT, Christmas Collision, Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City! So Chris, why not walk your ass to this ring and get it whipped by the Scissor King?! Jericho says if Bowens wants him to do that, then not tonight. Jericho waves bye, but AJ says hold on, listen up. We know Jericho is running scared, but we know at some point, Bowens will get to bring the-
Bowens stops the Boom? Because he wants to scissor! AJ says okay, and they SCISSOR BOOM~! But is that true? Will Anthony Bowens be the one to tear down the Learning Tree and be a champion?
Backstage interview with The Vendetta.
Lexy is now with Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie, and they’ve got a hot streak going. Deonna’s message last week was ominous, but who was it for? Taya says there are so many options. Everyone deserves a slice of The Vendetta. There’s Mercedes, Mariah, Toni Storm, even Lexy could get some, so watch your back. Speaking of Toni, she stumbles in and apologizes for interrupting. She just wants to say hi to everyone, hello. Oh, Deonna, a pleasure. Deonna says she knows who Toni is. R-Really? So cool! Taya says she’ll make a guess: Toni has a tattoo on her leg, a little duck with a knife through it.
Wow, how’d Taya know? Deonna says no no no, she is not doing this again. She does not get what sick crap Toni’s up to, but she is already done with it. So for Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street, Toni VS Taya! Taya says she’ll make Toni forget everything! Toni nervously thanks The Vendetta, and says this is a big opportunity to face someone like Taya. The Swiss Superman screws over Darby, but then he gets that chair back. But wait, Ospreay slides into the ring! And HE has the brass knuckles that Claudio tossed aside! Ospreay dares Claudio to do something, but Claudio simply leaves. Does this mean Ospreay’s ready to ride against the Death Riders with Darby? Or will we see a Miracle on 34th Street send Ospreay and Darby to Worlds End?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here as the last one before Worlds End, and therefore a bit of a go-home in itself. While the continued feud of MJF and Cole has still been a bit clunky since they did the double turn, their faceoff did a good job addressing some of that. They got good digs at each other as always, and MJF snapping and revealing “the truth” was their big move to recover this story. We of course got a brawl, and good save by The Kingdom. It feels like MJF still finds a way to hold onto the diamond ring, but c’mon, how fitting is it for Cole to get a diamond.
Good bit with Toni Storm and The Vendetta, and Deonna’s reaction to Toni was great. Deonna is justified in thinking this is still an act from Toni, not a legitimate psychological problem, and Toni VS Taya will be good stuff. Good promo from Kris Statlander, good match from her and Penelope Ford, and of course a good win for Kris. Good promo from Mone to make Worlds End official, but as I’ve been saying, Mone is more likely to lose the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship as part of the big NJPW Tokyo Dome weekend. The irony is, Mina Shirakawa is her challenger and Mina shows up plenty in AEW, so I don’t know how that math is supposed to work.
Good promo from Mariah May as it also turned into a brawl with Thunder Rosa. As it stands, Rosa standing tall holding up the belt means she is NOT winning at Worlds End, but they could still give us a little more from Rosa and Mariah on Dynamite’s Christmas episode to turn the tables. Good promo from Julia Hart to respond to Jamie Hayter, they’ll have a good match. Good promo from Orange Cassidy to try and reason with Jay White and Hangman Page, but that’s all the more reason Moxley likely uses the challengers all against each other like he did on Wednesday. Though, it would be fun if they at least started the match all annihilating Moxley with their finishers, making us think it’ll work out in favor of “Team AEW.”
Good stuff with Big Boom AJ & Big Justice here tonight, both hyping up the show but also interacting with Jericho’s group and even Anthony Bowens. They’re adding some more foreshadowing to The Acclaimed breaking up, and I guess we’re supposed to see this as a positive move, Bowens feuding with Jericho. Unless Bowens is going to be the guy that dethrones Jericho for whatever ROH cable TV debut/return is planned, the Jericho Vortex strikes again. Bowens should be going for an AEW midcard title, but right now, those are all tied up what with the C2 going on and the International Championship being tied up in Worlds End and NJPW plans.
Speaking of the C2, great stuff with all the matches tonight. Shelton VS Garcia was great stuff, and while Garcia gets the win, they’re still giving us some set-up for a TNT Championship match of Garcia VS Shelton. Mark Briscoe of course made the save, but great surprise for Swerve to show up. Lashley VS Swerve for Worlds End just needs to be said, it already feels a given. All that brawling was also a good segue into Mark VS Mortos, and another great showing for Mortos, even in losing. But as Mark has already had all his matches and is at 9 points, Kyle doesn’t even need to win against Garcia, he just needs to draw so that Mark will be out, and Garcia with him.
While Ospreay VS Darby on Wednesday raised the bar, Ospreay VS Ricochet still had great stuff of its own. Plus, Ricochet is bringing out more of his Heel side what with using the ref, and Ricochet’s win puts the pressure on Ospreay for Christmas Dynamite. Now, no offense to Brody King, but I’m thinking Ospreay wins that to take one of the semifinal spots. Darby VS Claudio tonight was also great, but Darby doing his best Sting off the truss was not the best when he gets that whiplash on the floor. I really thought that match was going to be called for concussion protocol, but Darby’s weirdly indestructible.
Claudio still cheats this win so there’s more heat on the Death Riders and Darby is also behind the 8 ball. Ospreay making the save was good, we can definitely have another “Team AEW” VS Death Riders with Ospreay joining Darby and a couple others, but the way they did the order of matches, Claudio’s got a seemingly easy ride against Komander for Christmas. Though, how awesome would it be if Komander pulled off the spoiler? Or if they were really going to add some drama, they should create a situation where the Death Riders end up ringside, violating the Continental Rules of no cornermen and that disqualifies Claudio. Claudio misses out on the semifinals because of a technicality, sending Ospreay and maybe Ricochet to the semifinals.
My Score: 8.8/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!
Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Komander is on the apron and he runs up, to SHOTGUN Brody to the floor! Brody sputters, Komander climbs the corner, and the fans are thunderous! Komander springboards to ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Another direct hit and Komander feels so close to his first points in the C2!
Komander hurries to get in the ring, but then slides out to start a new ring count. Komander climbs again while Brody rises. Komander watches Brody slide in, then tightrope walks to CIELITO LINDO!! But that was on Brody’s back! Komander pushes Brody but that’s a lot of dead weight to push! Brody sits up but Komander KICKS him! Komander roars, the fans fire up, handspring- TORTURE RACK! Brody flips Komander around, GONZO BOMB!! Cover, Brody wins!!
Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)
If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10
