A nasty spill could not stop NXT’s Tank Girl, and Shotzi was able to #TCB! Will Shotzi barrel through the rest of the NXT Women’s Division to challenge whoever is champion after Sunday?

NXT holds a dual video interview with Santos Escobar and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott.

The NXT Cruiserweight Champion and the only man to pin him twice, let alone once, are set to battle for that title at TakeOver: 31. To start, Tom Phillips asks Swerve about how he has Escobar’s number yet falls short in the matches. That’s true. Swerve has had his shots but it’s hard to believe there was fairness to those matches. Swerve is the better competitor, is still the only man to pin Escobar in NXT and all of WWE. So frankly, when they have their rematch, Swerve will come out on top.

Phillips asks Escobar if Swerve is right about things being fair this time around. Escobar laughs but tells Swerve he is a parasite that Escobar just can’t get rid of. It doesn’t matter, Swerve just lingers. And there’s nothing Escobar hates more in life than things that linger. Escobar vows Swerve will lose again and tie up loose ends. Swerve complains about what’s fair and what’s not. But Escobar promises this will be fair. Will it? Swerve can’t believe that. Every time they face off for the title, there’s always something or someone. El Legado del Fantasma interfering, a loaded lucha mask waiting under the ring, there’s always a bag of tricks. Escobar says those are excuses. When it counts, Swerve just can’t deliver.

What Escobar calls excuses are actually reality. And the reality here is that Swerve has adapted to everything in this business, and in life. Swerve is ready for whatever Escobar will throw at him. Good, Escobar is glad Swerve has prepared himself. Swerve isn’t just prepared. He is ready to show us all what he’s truly capable of. And he’ll show how the champion is just a fraud. But that’s the difference between them. Swerve makes things about himself. That is why he will fail. Escobar has built the division back up in his image, and infused it with respect for lucha libre, from which Cruiserweight wrestling was born, a culture that Swerve has no respect for. All that “showcasing” will not be enough. What Swerve claims are a “bag of tricks” is actually a century of tradition. Escobar vows to bury Swerve with it, but Swerve says he can try.

NXT hears from the anonymous alumni.

“I’ve heard them say you can never go back home. Too many roads in life to take. But sometimes, you have to stop and look around you to see that home may not be the same place it was when you left it. And you realize, doing something about it will be your best moment.” Just who or what is returning to NXT at TakeOver?

NXT presents Prime Target: Kyle O’Reilly!

“When I first stepped into a wrestling ring, a small kickboxing gym in British Columbia,” he took to it like a fish takes to water. He felt at home. This is something he has put every once of himself into for his entire adult life. Even if he never made it to NXT, just wrestling for a few dollars every other weekend, he would still be doing it with his everything. “This is my love, my passion.” The Undisputed Era is the best thing that ever happened to him professionally and personally, because these are three guys who are legitimately his best friends.

Adam Cole is so proud of Kyle. They’ve known each other for 12 years, travelled the world together, and Cole has known for a long time that Kyle is one of the best. “Blood on our lips and smiles on our face,” Kyle, Cole, Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish have all gone to war against each other and alongside each other. That’s what’s special about the Undisputed Era, “It is real.” More than anything, Kyle wants to be the NXT Champion. There is nothing more important to him right now. It is cliché, but Kyle has had his sights set on Finn Balor for a long time. As Kyle came to America, Balor was already big in Japan. When Kyle went to japan, Balor was in NXT. When Kyle got to NXT, Balor was on Raw.

“Needless to say, the fact that this match is finally happening is one thing. But to put in the main event of TakeOver and it’s for the NXT Championship, that’s what the last 15 years has been building up for.” Every moment, match, opportunity, country and company, it has all led to this Sunday. Kyle thrives under pressure, and if he wins, the Undisputed Era will be the same as when Cole won. This is just the second wave of the Golden Prophecy. And that is Undisputed.

NXT has an update on Tegan Nox.

As they tweeted out earlier today, NXT informs us that after the attack from Candice LeRae backstage, Tegan has suffered another torn ACL. The Shiniest Wizard again must recover and repair, will she ever get past being the comeback kid?

Backstage interview with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.

They “feel awful” for Tegan, but this was karma. Tegan broke their TV, Candice tears Tegan’s ACL. Even Stevens now. But moving on from that, their mixed tag match with Io Shirai and Damian Priest- Johnny scoffs at that. He knows Sarah is nervous, but just breathe. NXT’s Power Couple is teaming up tonight, but what are they hoping to accomplish before TakeOver and their respective title matches? Sunday is destiny for them. Gargano said they are destined to be the first married couple to be champions in NXT, and that is already here. It starts tonight, and finishes at TakeOver. The Garganos compliment Sarah, but they don’t really mean it. But will this twisted fairy tale of theirs really have a happily ever after?

Cameron Grimes VS ???

The Technical Savage didn’t win the gauntlet like he wanted, but there’s still time for it to be Grime Time in NXT. Before his match, Grimes gets the mic to say, “To tell you the truth, I’m not in the best mood right now.” Last week, he had all the opportunities, but it was all taken away to a match called the Gauntlet Eliminator! Whose idea was that? Not Regal’s, he’d make something way better! But Grimes can cheer up! Grimes is gonna make a match right now! How about this? The Cameron Grimes Invitational Stepping Stones to the Moon match! What you think of that?

To make it better, Grimes has handpicked each of his opponents tonight. Here comes the first opponent: Joey Pistachio! Actually the jacket says Ariel Dominguez but Grimes is right about him being the NCAA Champion in the 85 pound weight class. Ariel is here, all the way from San Diego, California, and he’s here to go to the moon! “Pistachio” gets in the ring and the match begins!

The Cameron Grimes Invitational Stepping Stones to the Moon: Cameron Grimes VS Ariel Dominguez!

CAVE-IN!! Cocky cover, Grimes wins!

Winner: Cameron Grimes, by pinfall

The fastest win of Grimes’ career, is against a man quite literally half his size. Grimes feels great about it, but admits that was a little rough. But he wouldn’t be the man he is if he didn’t have more competition lined up. The second opponent is: “Joey Strong.” But whether that’s his real name or not, it doesn’t matter, because RIDGE HOLLAND tosses the guy out to the stage! Holland HEADBUTTS Joey over and over and then throws him off the stage! Also, judging from Joey’s singlet, his real last name is “Lockhart.” Grimes introduces himself to Holland and says that he’s a big fan. Holland is great, really. But he’s not part of this invitational! If Holland is here to shake his hand, that’s fine. But this isn’t a match. Holland HEADBUTTS Grimes instead! This IS a match, and here’s the bell!

Cameron Grimes VS Ridge Holland!

Holland grabs Grimes for more headbutts, and then an OVERHEAD SUPLEX! Grimes to a corner and Holland storms over to club away on him! Holland CLUBS and CLUBS and crossface forearms over and over! Grimes scrambles away but Holland stomps him at the ropes! The ref counts, but Holland won’t stop!! The ref rings the bell!

Winner: Cameron Grimes, by disqualification

Holland doesn’t care, he just wants to turn Grimes into Carolina tar! Grimes flops out of the ring, probably thinking he’s on the moon. Will Holland bring him back down to earth next time they meet?

Backstage interview with Austin Theory.

Theory requested this interview time, is it about his recent struggles? Struggles? “Theory” and “Struggles’ do not belong in the same sentence. As for Damian Priest, that should’ve never happened. Theory should’ve been in the gauntlet match Kyle O’Reilly won. Theory saw the Prime Target video, and it is very touching and inspirational to learn it took Kyle 15 years to finally get an NXT Championship match. But that’s a long time. More than half Theory’s life. Theory was already part of WrestleMania at 22, but Kyle is the future? Kyle should try to be catching up to Theory. Will Theory prove he is the one everyone should be putting stock into?

NXT hears from Kushida.

“The migration to this new environment, the United States, has been truly the biggest event that has happened to me and my family. It was a struggle to juggle my work and private life. It was hard to concentrate. But now it’s time! The setup is complete. I can concentrate on the ring.” Now Kushida will show the real him. He hasn’t had many opportunities at titles, injuries set him back, and now he is impatient. He’s changing gears, ramping it up a notch, and will go “ballistic.” Everything has its meaning, and TakeOver will see an explosion. Velveteen Dream will learn HE is the stepping stone, and Kushida will become the core of NXT. “The new Kushida is VICIOUS! Here I come, TakeOver!” But first, we’ll see the Timesplitter tune-up, after the break!

KUSHIDA VS Tony Nese!

Before taking on The Experience, the Super Junior wants to give us all a sample of the new aggression he is about to unleash! Will the Premier Athlete wish he could go Back to the Future to avoid this?

The bell rings, Nese and Kushida circle, approach, but Nese flexes on Kushida. Kushida enziguris! And Kowata Kicks, and Penalty Kicks the arm out! Kushida whips, Nese holds ropes to throat chop back! Nese hotshot bulldogs Kushida down! And drags him out to whip him, but Kushida reverses to POST Nese! The crowd goes wild as Kushida puts Nese in and kicks the arm again! And again! Kushida whips, Nese slides under to pump handle, but Kushida gets the arm! Kushida wrenches Nese for a bulldog to the arm! Nese gets to a corner, Kushida is after his arm again!  The ref counts as they’re in the ropes, but he just gives Nese another arm bulldog! Kushida gives Nese DANIELSON STOMPS! Kushida doesn’t stop the stomps, then he wraps the arm into the Hoverboard! Nese taps, Kushida wins

Winner: Kushida, by submission

Kushida shows us he wasn’t kidding! This was a faster, meaner and more precise Kushida here tonight. But the lights change purple, and Dream speaks from the titantron. “Will the real Kushida please stand up?” Because it doesn’t matter who shows up, the spotlight will be too bright for Kushida. Dream always puts on his best performances under the brightest lights. See you Sunday. A simple message for simple game plans: win. Who will see that plan through to success at TakeOver?

NXT Media finds Grimes backstage, nursing his eye.

Grimes tells cameras to get out of his face or direct him to William Regal! But then Grimes walks into Dexter Lumis! Lumis is back?! Grimes walks past the “freak,” and storms off down the hall. Between Northern Grit and the Tortured Artist, will the Carolina Caveman have to be much more careful walking around Full Sail these days?

NXT returns to Adam Cole in the ring.

The former champion makes a surprise appearance as he says, “Three years. For three years, the Undisputed Era has been part of NXT. And for three years, we have dominated. We’ve done what we want, when we want, and nobody has been able to stop us.” The prophecy came true! They said they’d win every title and they did! But even more important than that, people in the locker room knew that if you crossed them, you would pay. Then the prophecy ended and they lost their titles. And somewhere along their way, people felt the Era changed. People felt like they could say whatever and there’d be no repercussions.

Cole is telling us here and now, “Nothing has changed! We are the same Undisputed Era that won the first-ever WarGames match in WWE history! We are the same Undisputed Era that has DOMINATED this brand unlike anybody has or anybody will!” So then, Austin Theory, if you want to run your mouth about Kyle, fine. Do Cole a favor and bring your ass down to this ring to say that to Cole’s face! Theory does make his way out to the ring and he wants Cole to calm down. Why is he so mad? Cole dares Theory to get in the ring since he’s so big and bad.

But if not, fine. Cole keeps this simple so even Theory can understand. Two options: bring your stupid face in and fight like a man; stay right there, so that the rest of the Era can beat him where he stands and make him BEG to go back to option one. Theory decides to take option one and heads for the ring. The ref gets in, too, and this is a match!

Adam Cole VS Austin Theory!

Cole dodges Theory to CHOP and forearm and CHOP! Theory staggers, Cole follows to fire off forearms! Cole stomps away on Theory in another corner, lets off as the ref counts, then goes after Theory at the ropes. Cole KICKS Theory, BOOTS him down, then dares him to get up. Theory stands, Cole gives him a neckbreaker! Theory pushes Cole away but Cole stomps him down. Cole drags Theory up, wrenches and whips but Theory grabs ropes to bail out! Theory mocks the UE sign, but Cole goes out to BOOT him down! Theory sits up in a daze, Cole tells him he’s nothing. Cole bumps Theory off the apron, the ring count climbs to 5 but Cole refreshes it. Cole whips Theory into steel steps!

Cole says Theory mocked the wrong people, then he drags Theory up into the ring. Theory gets Cole at the ropes but Cole PELES first! Theory checks his face but Cole is on him with another neckbreaker! Cover, TWO! Theory survives that Rude Awakening, but then he talks trash about going #AllDay. Cole stomps Theory, drags him back up and snap suplexes him down. “Wrong guy, Austin. Wrong guy.” Cole drags Theory up to club him back down! Theory gets to a corner, Cole laces his leg in the ropes to dropkick him in the stomach! Theory falls with the leg twisted up, and Cole wraps on a chinlock to grind him down. Cole tells Theory to quit but he refuses. Theory tells Cole they’re “Undisputed Crap” but Cole just wrenches harder.

Cole and Theory stand up, Theory fights out but runs into a back elbow! Cole storms back after Theory to knee him down and put him in the corner. Theory hits the buckles hard, Cole throws more forearms then wrenches for a corner to corner whip. Theory reverses, runs in but is put on the apron. Theory shoulders into Cole, slingshot somersaults to shotgun dropkick! “THAT is undisputed!” Cover, TWO!! Theory grows frustrated but the crowd fires up as NXT goes to break.

NXT returns and Theory is stomping a mudhole into Cole! Theory talks smack but fans rally up as he drags Cole up to snapmare and stomp! Theory slaps Cole around before clamping on a chinbar armlock combo. Cole endures, Theory digs his elbow into Cole’s face, but Cole fights up. Cole fights back, Theory knees low and hits a backbreaker! Theory hits a standing moonsault! Cover, TWO! Theory has his arrogance back as Cole gets to a corner. Cole elbows him away, then boots him away! Cole rallies with clotheslines now, and another BOOT! Theory sits up in another daze, but Cole stalks him to ropes. Cole brings Theory into a waistlock, Theory standing switches but Cole PELES and BACKSTABBERS! Cover, TWO!

Cole grows frustrated but he has control again. He gets up while Theory stirs. Cole brings Theory to a fireman’s carry but Theory fights off. Theory whips, Cole reverses and BOOTS again! And then the fireman’s carry, USHIGOROSHI! Cover, TWO!! Theory survives but Cole smirks. Cole might actually respect Theory now, but he’s not going to take it easy on him. Cole goes to a corner, Theory anchors a foot but Cole stomps him. Cole hops up, takes aim, and leaps, PANAMA-NO! Back drop, and no sunset flip, MULE KICK to the back! Theory drags Cole up, torture rack, for the TOWER HACKER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Cole is a Triple Crown winner for a reason!

Theory talks trash on Cole and throws forearms. Cole gives them back. They brawl from mat to their feet, Cole gives as good as he gets, then runs, into Theory’s elbow! Theory runs, into a SUPERKICK!! Theory ends up on the apron from that one! Cole sees him floundering, drags him up, but Theory hotshots! Theory slingshots, into another SUPERKICK! Suplex, UNDISPUTED BRAIN BUSTER! LAST SHOT SHINING WIZARD! Cover, Cole wins!

Winner: Adam Cole, by pinfall

And THAT is Undisputed! “Kyle O’Reilly was born ready! Nobody wants this more, nobody has earned an NXT title shot more.” Cole promises Kyle will #ShockTheSystem, but it won’t be a shock to the UE. Will this new Undisputed Prophecy come true this Sunday?

NXT returns with a backstage interview with Io Shirai and Damian Priest.

The champions are teaming for the first time ever against their respective challengers. How confident are they against the Power Couple? Hah, that’s cute. They can keep that nickname, because these two are keeping the titles. Tonight is a preview of TakeOver as the Women’s Champion and North American Champion, “the rockstars of NXT,” take care of business. Shirai says she is on another level than Candice, and Priest is literally on a different level than Gargano. In the end, that is why Johnny and Candice have no chance at becoming champions. She’s ready to rock, and Priest likes that. Will the champs stay golden all the way through Sunday?

Kayden Carter w/ Kacy Catanzaro VS Xia Li!

NXT’s Ninja Warriors are a great tag team, did very well in the Women’s Battle Royal, but things are about to get spicy! Will Xia Li divide and conquer KC Squared?

The bell rings and Xia circles with Kayden. They tie up, Xia rolls Kayden, ONE! Kayden sits on the cover, ONE! Xia sunset flips, ONE, Kayden is up but Xia sweeps the legs! Cover, ONE, Kayden reverses the roles to sweep and cover, ONE! The crowd cheers the fast and furious technical exchange, and both women fist bump out of respect. A bit different compared to the scowling Xia did last time these two faced off in that tag match. But they go again, Kayden waistlocks, Xia standing switches, but Kayden drops down, slides under and waistlocks back. Xia uses ropes but Kayden still O’Conner rolls. TWO, Kayden springboard missile dropkicks! Cover, TWO!

Xia bails out but comes back to trip Kayden up! Xia spins Kayden to ROCK her with that right! And then drags her out more to DUMP her on the ground! Kacy coaches Kayden but Xia gets back in the ring. Xia waits for Kayden to return, Kacy coaches Kayden on but Xia stomps away! Cover, ONE! Kayden gets to a corner, Xia is after her with a CHOP! Xia fires up and fires off knees! And a back kick! Cover, ONE! Xia tries again, ONE! Again, ONE! Xia gets spicy with the ref, Kayden staggers about and into a corner. Xia is after her, Kayden elbows her away. Kayden kicks but Xia blocks and trips. Kayden kicks Xia to a corner, Kacy coaches her up but Xia is after her. Kayden CHOPS, forearms, knees and repeat!

Kayden whips, Xia reverses, Kayden wheelbarrows, victory rolls and MULE KICKS! Cover, TWO!! Kayden is frustrated, Xia shoves her but then sunset flips up and over, TWO! Kayden sits up, brings Xia up, Xia bucks her to a prawn hold but Kayden rolls through to sunset Xia! Kayden wins!!

Winner: Kayden Carter, by pinfall

Xia can’t believe she got caught like that! Kayden still shows respect with her hand held out, but Xia shoves her down! Kacy asks what her problem is, but Xia shakes her off, too. Xia is going from spicy to burning with anger, will she explode soon enough?

NXT returns to Shawn Michaels in the ring.

The NXT Championship sits on a table as HBK says, “This Sunday, on the WWE Network, Finn Balor will be defending his NXT Championship against the #1 contender, Kyle O’Reilly. Gentlemen.” Balor and Kyle step in and we have our face-to-face. There isn’t animosity here, but please shake hands before you sit down. They shake hands and take their seats at the table. Balor wishes Kyle a congrats for winning the gauntlet match. Balor has the utmost respect for Kyle and what he’s done, and looks forward to their match. The feeling is mutual for Kyle, there’s nothing but respect. HBK appreciates all that, but let’s get to the heart of the matter.

Balor has told us all, and HBK agrees, this is the best Balor yet. But Balor is facing someone who HBK has said for a long time, the best kept secret in wrestling today. How does Balor prepare for a guy like Kyle? Balor doesn’t think this is a secret. Maybe a fringe, casual fan doesn’t know Kyle, but the business watches Balor because Balor watches the business. Balor has known how great Kyle is. Kyle has proven himself in the NXT Tag Team Division, but more importantly, Kyle has proven himself around the world as a singles competitor. Balor knows how hard that is.

Kyle likes Balor. He is a fan of Balor. Sitting here and seeing Balor expertly stroke his own ego, thinking he can beat Kyle. Balor is a fighting champion, and this is what a fighting champion does: defends the title, even when defeat is certain. And that’s what this is, Balor. “Absolute certain defeat.” Oh? Well there’s one thing Balor isn’t so sure about. Is Kyle going to show up with Undisputed Era, or be a man? He’ll be a man. But he appreciates the question. See this? One hand, and then the other, watching each other. That is how UE has operated since the beginning. That is the foundation to their success. But this Sunday isn’t about the UE. It is about Kyle’s moment.

HBK says that in regards to that, the elephant in the room is the “apparent conflict” that Kyle could be champion and that could upset Cole. Anything to that? Kyle says this “nonexistent power struggle amongst the Era boys, quite frankly, is laughable.” Yes, ol’ Grimey had a point with his, “You ain’t nothin’ like Adam Cole, hurr hurr,” and that’s true. They’re nothing alike because Cole is a beautiful man! Kyle has mismatched ears, freckles all over, and- Balor vows to slap the freckles off Kyle’s face. Now there’s the Prince! “A good Irish boy, this one.” Kyle welcomes that. Balor can’t say Kyle got lucky or making other excuses. Balor agrees, there’ll be no room for excuse from Kyle. And no room for jokes. Balor has proved himself for 20 years.

Big whoop! Kyle’s been here 15, so what’s another 5 years? Every month since walking in here, it’s been “the biggest match of my career.” This week, next week, and this Sunday. This isn’t the biggest match of Kyle’s career, but of Kyle’s life. Balor explains what “the big whoop” is. It’s understanding the difference between the main event of one night, versus the main event that alters your life. Not just for Kyle, but for everyone watching. Kyle gets it. Balor’s first big title defense. No one ever loses their first defense, right~?

But the truth is, Kyle being considered the underdog is BS! Kyle is not the underdog here, because Balor has never faced Kyle, or anyone like Kyle. Kyle will change Balor’s mind. “There’s something about the sound of a man’s knee caps exploding, tends to say a certain opinion.” And this Sunday, the so-called tag team specialist will do it again.

HBK says Balor is champion, so he gets one final word. “Kyle. You’re witty, you have charisma. You are really, really good in the ring. I believe you have everything it takes to be NXT Champion. And you will be, if this title was on anybody else except for Finn Balor.” HBK thanks them for their time. But who triumphs when it’s time to back up all these words at TakeOver 31?

Mixed Tag: Io Shirai & Damian Priest VS Candice LeRae & Johnny Gargano!

The Evil Genius and the Archer of Infamy face their TakeOver contenders together in this special sampler main event! Will the Pint-Sized Poison Pixie and her Wednesday Knight take the first steps toward a historic power couple reign?

The “rockstar” champions fire up and rush the ring to brawl with Johnny and Candice! Things are furious under the strobe lights, but the challengers bail out! The referee hurries in to cool everyone off, Mr. & Mrs. Wrestling complain as they take their corner. Priest starts for his team so Gargano gets in. The bell rings, Gargano fires off a haymaker but Priest kicks. Gargano gets under and uppercuts, but Priest grabs him to throw him to a corner! Gargano dodges to CHOP and forearm but Priest shoves, kicks and swings. Gargano dodges those but not the BOOT! Priest fires off fast hands in the ocrner, Cnadice protests but Priest stops at the ref’s count.

Priest whips Gargano corner to corner, scoops him for a BIG sidewalk slam! Gargano rolls away, Candice tells Priest to back off, and Candice checks on her husband. Priest tags Shirai in so Candice has to come in! The crowd is thunderous as these two step to each other. Candice fires off but Shirai gives it back! Candice knees low, whips Shirai to a corner then runs corner to corner, but Shirai dodge and kicks back! Shirai goes up, leaps, but Candice gets under. Candice comes back, Shirai waistlocks but Candice blocks the German to standing switch and roll up! TWO, SHirai FLAPJACKS Candice! Then basement dropkicks!

Candice gets to a corner as the crowd fires up. Gargano gets in the way of the bullet train, but Priest backs Shirai up. And ROUNDHOUSES Gargano into the corner! Candice gets a bit of hubby’s buns as Priest leaps in to hit the back elbow! Then Shirai runs in, Gargano bails out so that Candice takes the SHINKANSEN alone! Some husband he is. Candice bails out, Priest gives Shirai a boost for an INFAMOUS CROSSBODY! Direct hit on Mr. & Mrs. Wrestling at the ramp, and NXT goes picture in picture!

Shirai drags Candice up and puts her in the ring. Shirai stomps Candice around, and in the corner! The ref counts, Shirai lets off, but then digs her boots in! Shirai swings to meteora! Candice flounders around, Shirai drags her up and throws her! Shirai runs but Gargano redeems himself by taking the tiger feint kick for Candice! Candice hits Shirai with a DRAPING NECKBREAKER! Cover, ROPEBREAK! Candice is furious as she clubs away on Shirai! Shirai gets to a corner, Candice slaps her around, then hauls her into another corner to ram her into buckles! Candice snapmares Shirai into a chinlock and grinds her down. Shirai endures, fights back and fights up, but Candice throws her down. Candice talks trash to Priest but he tells the little lady to calm down.

Shirai knees Candice back! Candice rolls Shirai away to dropkick her down! Cover, TWO! Shirai flounders but Candice drags her away from Priest. Candice has a neck wrench as NXT returns to single picture. Shirai endures, the crowd rallies up but Gargano talks smack. Candice knees Shirai, clubs her, and paces. Gargano is the only one applauding as Candice kicks Shirai. Candice toys with Shirai, tells her the belt will be Candice’s, but Shirai gets up to SHOTEI! Candice wobbles, Shirai counter punches her and waistlocks her for a GERMAN! Both women are down, hot tag to Priest! Gargano gets in but gets clobbered over and over! Priest ROUNDHOUSES Gargano, and LRAIATS him in the rebound!

The crowd fires up as Priest aims and fires the flying back elbow in the corner! And then BROKEN ARROW! Cover off the toss, TWO! Gargano crawls to a corner but Priest brings him back up. Priest reels him in, Canadian racks to a crucifix, but Gargano slips off! Gargano boots Priest back, hops up, TORNADO COMPLETE SHOT! Gargano grits his teeth, fires himself up and kicks, but Priest ducks to kick away! Gargano enziguris, Priest staggers and Shirai tags in! Candice is now legal, but Shirai missile dropkicks Gargano! Shirai rallies on Candice with shoulders, then underhooks, but Candice fights out of the Tiger Driver! Shirai ducks the enziguri and drops down on Candice for the crossface!

Candice flails, reaches, endures, Gargano drags Shirai out of the ring! Priest comes around to choke grip and lift, but Gargano lands on his feet to mule kick from the apron! Shirai SHOTEIS Gargano! Candice cradles Shirai, TWO! Shirai wheelbarrows but Candice turns it into a FACEBUSTER! Step-up senton! Candice grins as she springboards, LIONSAULT flops! Shirai underhooks, TIGER BACKBREAKER! Shirai has Candice in the drop zone and climbs up top, but Gargano gets Candice out of the ring! Shirai shouts at Gargano, but Priest BELL CLAPS and ROUNDHOUSES Gargano! Gargano is down, Shirai still gives him the MOONSAULT!

Tag to Priest, Priest grabs Gargano for the dragon sleeper! The ref is busy telling Shirai to go back to the corner, he doesn’t see Candice LOW BLOW Priest!! Shirai goes after Candice but the damage is done! Shirai stomps Candice down, Gargano slingshots, ONE FINAL BEAT!! Cover, the Gargano Way wins!!

Winners: Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae, by pinfall

Mr. Wrestling secures the victory only because Mrs. Wrestling kicked the Archer of Infamy in his arrow! Shirai shouts at Gargano but Candice hits her with a BACKSTABBER! And in a bit of premature celebration, Gargano grabs the belts and hands the Women’s title to Candice. They raise the belts up as if they’ve already won. But if #TheJohnnyGarganoWay only succeeds when they’re both together, do either of them stand a chance on their own?

My Thoughts:

An incredible go-home for NXT! Not much was advertised match-wise, but they were all solid to say the least. A lot of great stuff has also been added to TakeOver 31 given circumstances are clearly keeping the NXT Tag Team Championships off the card. The Cruiserweight Championship getting to be on TakeOver is exactly what I was hoping for, and while the video call interview segment was just a tad awkward, Escobar VS Swerve is going to be great once again. Kushida put a hurting on Nese, Dream had a good promo for keeping it simple, and their match is going to be a lot of fun, too. It is truly a shame Tegan is out of action again, her story with Candice had so much going for it. We can only hope Tegan can recover and still wrestle at all.

Dakota VS Shotzi was really good, and I like that Rhea and Shotzi are basically being teamed together again. I felt like these two meshed very well when going against Aliyah and Mercedes Martinez, they’ll do the same here against Dakota and Raquel, and maybe, just maybe, NXT starts getting properly involved in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship scene. Though, if WWE is keeping their stupid Draft as just Raw and SmackDown, it seems not at all likely. Grimes was hilarious, thinking he could do the same scrub gauntlet Ariya Daivari did on 205 Live, and just hilarious in general as Holland not only mauled that jobber but then mauled Grimes. Lumis returns, too, so maybe what was meant to be Lumis & Dream becomes Lumis & Holland to put some literal heavy hitters in the tag division.

I like that this mysterious return is being kept so secret, it’s not even clear if it’s a male or female superstar. The robot voices are more male and female, the person picked up a TakeOver flyer that had both the men’s and women’s title matches on it, and in the current era, the only difference between the male and female title belts is color, which gets washed away in the night vision green. It cold be Bo Dallas, it could be Ember Moon, it could be… Paige? Maybe not, that’s something that might’ve leaked by now. And while Paige was literally born into wrestling, I feel like she’s fine with where she is in both WWE and in life right now. Though the robot-cyborg gimmick could work for her as much as it does Ember with injuries being the only thing in her way, and the idea of her repairing herself to retake NXT.

I like that the story of Xia Li, and by proxy KC Squared, is getting airtime. They’ve all been around for a good amount of time, really working hard to be notable parts of NXT, and this is it paying off. Xia continues to be a sore loser of sorts, and a full Heel turn would be something interesting to see. The Mixed Tag match was a great main event, and it was a bit out of nowhere to see Priest and Shirai work so well together, but I suppose you credit the fact they have a common enemy in Johnny and Candice. But the math indicates that the #NXTPowerCouple standing tall tonight, touching the belts no less, means they’re not both winning. Maybe Gargano gets the better of Priest, being that Gargano is the Triple Crown winner, I’m not sure about Candice. If Tegan wasn’t actually out with the torn ACL, I could see her interfering with the women’s title, but now it’ll just have to be a clean win for Shirai.

Adam Cole basically being the big brother to Kyle against Theory was unexpected, but that match Cole and Theory had was incredible. It felt on par with a midcard title match, in which case the reputation of Cole being an NXT Triple Crown was itself the prize. The Prime Target for Kyle was incredibly well made, but if he doesn’t win… In the face-to-face, Kyle sure came in with a bit of ego, but he did make some good points. They’re both much more experience than the average fan probably realized, so this isn’t an underdog story but two peers who finally meet to see who is really the better man. It’d be so wild if Kyle won, but this also feels like it’s meant to puff Kyle up so much that he falls that much harder when he loses.

My Score: 9.3/10

CM Punk arrives backstage.

And he is pissed! There’s many reasons why, so he storms right from the parking spot to gorilla and makes his entrance! Buffalo, New York fires up and sings along with Cult of Personality as Punk goes right to ringside. Punk snatches a mic, clears off the desk, shoves over the Hydration Station, and he says, “Let’s start this show off with a bang!” The fans like that! Punk says this will be fun not for us but for him! HE might get cancelled off Netflix! Where to start!? Consider this his State of the Union Address far into the Road to WrestleMania, an event some people think he has exhausted all avenues of main eventing!

Punk says, “Allow me to address my enemies. And since my name is C M Punk, that means everyone!” Who start with? Who’s his first target? What name do the fans want? Sounds like a big mix of names, but Pat McAfee brings up The Rock. “The Rock? The Final Boss? Listen up, Dwayne, you bald fraud! You think because you’re on the board of directors, you’re immune from criticism? You don’t know who you’re dealing with! You’re dealing with The Best in the World! Middle aged and crazy, walked back into the WWE after 10 years, and literally marched through Hell to receive opportunities at the big dance.

“And you, Mr. Midlife Crisis, decide to just walk in when you like it and hide behind the fact that you think you’re a bigger star than everybody here. I would love to say this to your face, but you have not graced with your presence to do your BS, to hit your arm, to pretend that you care about this business that gives you goosebumps. I have never been so delusional, I have never been so desperate, to wear a fake title!” The fans are thunderous for Punk now as he says he has never been so desperate to proclaim himself The People’s Champion! He doesn’t deserve it, he earns it! And he has never been so desperate to sell his soul.

That brings Punk to John Cena! You can’t see me? Well now we can all see through Cena! Cena STOLE something from Punk at Elimination Chamber! A match that after 20 YEARS of Hustle, Loyalty, Respect, Punk gave Cena the benefit of the doubt! Cena didn’t qualify, and what he did int he past secured his future. You won’t fool Punk twice. Hustle, Loyalty, Respect, for 20 years, and now we all know what Punk has known all along: Cena’s been selling these kids BS! The fans fire up again, and Punk paces. “Who gave up in the Elimination Chamber? It wasn’t me! You’ll never see CM Punk give up on his dreams of main eventing WrestleMania!

“Ironically, Mr. Don’t Quit, Mr. Don’t Give up, you gave up on yourself! You gave up on all of these people. You gave up on all of those kids! The jokes on you, I’m gonna see you down the road. And I’m gonna get my hands on both of you bald frauds. And when I do, you’re gonna make a wish that I never did. And now, the man of the hour. The person who currently has all my undivided attention: Little Brother Seth Rollins! Becky Lynch, you better come get your man. Because if I do before you do, I’m gonna put him in a wheelchair! Seth Rollins, self-professed-” WAIT! Rollins is here! So Punk goes from desk to ramp!

The fans fire up as Punk and Rollins brawl on stage! The hands fly, Rollins goes for a leg and he gets Punk down! Refs and producers rush out there already but the fans boo! “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Punk throws off his jacket, slips free, but Rollins TACKLES him first! They scrap on the stage, get back up, and they brawl down the ramp! They go to ringside, Adam Pearce sends reinforcements, but Rollins and Punk just DECK guard after guard! They both grab each other by the hair, go into the barriers, but refs and producers get in there again. Rollins and Punk go to the ring! They scrap on the mat while fans go nuts!

It is a swarm in the ring and Rollins bails out the side. Rollins THROWS guard after guard, DECKS a few, and Punk rushes up again! The fans are thunderous as this almost spills over barriers! Punk and Rollins are separated again, but they still want after each other! “This is Awesome!” as Rollins again gest loose! He leaps over the desk as a shortcut! They brawl on the desk, then the floor! Michael Cole & Pat McAfee have to watch out, but Buffalo again says, “This is Awesome!” Adam Pearce shouts at both Punk and Rollins to stop this, but Rollins claws his way free! Rollins jumps at Punk and it’s another scrap on the desk!

One more time, these two are separated, and Rollins throws bottles of Prime as he’s dragged away! Punk is ushered out through the crowd but Buffalo is loving this! Raw goes to break so this can all calm down, will either of these two let the other even make it out of Buffalo?

Judgment Day is in the clubhouse.

Liv & Raquel are still talking about what happened in the Women’s Elimination Chamber, but mostly Bianca’s braid lashing Liv and leaving quite the mark. Dom check son Finn but Finn just sulks. Dom says that was the past. What matters is Liv & Raquel are the greatest team ever! Liv says that is just the start of it. Because Liv has beaten Rhea, she has beaten Iyo and she can do it all again. But enough about her. Raquel, it is time one of them went for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Raquel says that is a good idea. She’ll keep an eye on Lyra VS Ivy later on. Liv asks if Finn is okay, and Finn says yeah, all good. He’s just happy for the new champs.

Granted, Liv lost in the Chamber, but like Dom said, the past is the past. But he can’t move past Dom & Carlito getting embarrassed by Bron Breakker. Wait, they got embarrassed? Finn had a chair and yet he still backed down. But maybe if they had another member… Finn says Judgment Day is fine! No new members, no more blame game. But maybe Finn needs to deal with Bron tonight. Liv says Finn has that in hand. Good luck. Thanks, Sis. See you boy slater. Finn heads out, but Dom asks what was up with Jade at Chamber. Liv says no idea, but she is staying out of it. After all, she and Raquel never had anything to do with it!

But again, tonight will be about Liv & Raquel. Dom says of course, he always believed in Liv. But will Judgment Day (not) stand tall as we roll down the Road to WrestleMania?

GUNTHER VS Otis w/ The Alpha Academy!

After Der Ring General made an example out of Akira Tozawa and then punked out the tree trunk, Otis is going to make sure this bully doesn’t get away with it! Will Otis be the wrecking ball that knocks Gunther off his high horse? Or will he be a large appetizer for the World Heavyweight Champion?

As he enters, Gunther has a mic, and while Buffalo boos, Gunther says, “Before I embarrass you, big boy, let me explain some things to you. I mean, first… I know you’re strong. Strong as an ox, actually. And some, call you a freak of nature. But to me, you’re just a freak. To me, you belong in the same category as Jey Uso: a people pleaser that makes a clown out of himself trying to entertain a degenerate audience. And it does not belong in my sacred ring. And you really believe they cheer you because they like you? What you don’t understand is, they pity you! I mean, c’mon, let’s be honest for one moment. Have you looked yourself in the mirror this morning?

“Because I did. And what I saw is me wearing the World Heavyweight Championship as a belt, while you can’t find a belt that fits.” The fans boo Gunther shaming Otis over his size. Gunther steps into the ring as the fans cheer Otis on, but Gunther says the sad thing is, Otis could be great, if he had self-respect. But Gunther will teach Otis about respect right now! Just like Jey Uso at WrestleMania… BOOT! The fans boo, the bell rings and the ref reprimands, but Gunther stomps Otis around. Gunther taunts Otis, Tozawa & Maxxine coach Otis, and Otis CLUBS Gunther! Otis fires hands from all sides and the fans fire up!

Otis CLUBS away on Gunther in a corner, but Gunther kicks low! Gunther headlocks, Otis powers up and out, but Gunther RAMS Otis! Otis stays put! The fans fire up, Gunther kicks low and runs again, to RAM Otis! Otis rebounds, but into another BOOT! Gunther runs and he BOOTS Otis out of the ring! Otis crawls, Maxxine & Tozawa coach him, but Gunther goes out to taunt Otis. Gunther slaps Otis around, calls him a freak, then taunts the fans. Otis scowls, and he grabs Gunther! Otis drags Gunther from the ring and carries him around! FALL AWAY SLAM to the floor! Otis roars, Buffalo is with him, and Raw goes to break!

Raw returns and Gunther fires KNEES into Otis in the ring. The fans boo but Gunther clamps on a CROSSFACE! Otis endures, fights around, has his arms free, and the fans rally up. Gunther pulls on the facelock, but Otis fights up, Gunther KNEES him low! The fans boo but Gunther snarls. Gunther pie faces Otis, taunts him, and again calls him a freak. The fans rally for Otis and he rises to his feet! Gunther pie faces again, but Otis storms up on him. Gunther scuffs Otis, Otis fires up, but Gunther BOOTS him down! Cover, TWO! Otis stays in this and Gunther frowns. Gunther sits in the corner while he dares Otis to get up.

Otis rises, Gunther clamps on a SLEEPER! Otis slips around to hit a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up while both men are down! Otis gets those hips moving and he rises to his feet! The fans fire up as Otis storms up, but Gunther CHOPS! Otis staggers, but he shakes his head! Gunther CHOPS again, but Otis is pumping and thrusting! Gunther CHOPS, but Otis shakes his head! CHOP! Otis rips his shirt away! YOU SONOVA! Otis CHOPS, Gunther CHOPS, repeat! The fans are loving every CHOP! Otis then blocks one to HEADBUTT! And LARIAT! Otis whips Gunther to a corner, SPLASHES him, then runs in again, only for Gunther to BOOT him!

Gunther runs, but into a scoop! Otis SLAMS Gunther and Buffalo is thunderous! SPLASH in the corner, then Otis ELBOWS Gunther down! The fans are really pumped up, but Gunther stands before the Caterpillar starts up! So Otis scoops and SLAMS, then CATERPILLAR ELBOWS! Just enough of an impact and Otis covers, TWO! Gunther survives, but Otis goes up! VADER FLOP as Gunther moves! SHOTGUN DROPKICK! Gunther hauls Otis up, but Otis BACKDROPS free of the bomb! Gunther goes to a corner, Otis runs in, DOUBLE LARIATS collide! Gunther SWATS the lariat, CLUBS and LARIATS, then BOOTS again!

Gunther drags Otis up, then POINT-BLANK LARIATS!! Cover, TWO!?! Otis survives and Gunther is shocked! Buffalo rallies but Gunther hauls Otis up. Gunther reels Otis in, and lifts?! POWERBOMB!! Cover, GUNTHER WINS!

Winner: Gunther, by pinfall

Otis gave Gunther much more of a fight than he expected, but the result ends up the same. But Gunther isn’t satisfied! SLEEPER!! Tozawa LEAPS onto Gunther!! Gunther stands up, THROWS Tozawa down, then hauls him up! POWERBOMB onto Otis! Then Gunther drags Otis up! But JEY USO is here! The fans are thunderous again as Main Event Jey and his Buffalo Sabers YEET shirt go to the ring! Gunther BOOTS Jey down, Gunther rains down fists, but Jey turns things around! Then Jey gets up to SPEAR! Gunther flounders, Jey picks up the title, and the fans fire up again! Could this be how it looks at the end of-

OH NO! Austin Theory & Grayson Waller attack Jey! They beat Jey down for how he got them last week! The fans boo but we get the DOUBLE- NO, Jey dodges and Theory almost hits Waller! Jey SUPERKICKS Theory, then fires off haymakers on Waller! “YEET! YEET! YEET!” Jey ROCKS Waller, then SPEARS Him down!! GUNTHER CLAMPS ON THE SLEEPER!! Gunther takes advantage and he squeezes the air out of Jey’s body! The fans boo but Jey is down on the mat, and he’s fading out! Gunther leaves Jey down on the mat, and he picks up the world title to stand over him. Is this how it will look at the end of WrestleMania?

Backstage interview with AJ Styles.

Cathy Kelley is with the Phenomenal One, and wants to bring up his opinion on this. He has a lot of history with both John Cena and Cody Rhodes, what does he make of the ending to Elimination Chamber? “Wow. I didn’t see that coming. John Cena, selling out?” Karrion Kross suddenly wraps his arms around Styles’ shoulders and says it’s not that surprising, if you think about it. Styles pries free of Kross and Kross says Styles is a legend, too. He knows how frustrating it is when the new generation doesn’t give the proper respect. And where does Logan Paul get off talking trash to you?

Styles tells Kross to stop. This song and dance? Really? Styles ain’t John Cena. And maybe the WWE Universe needs a reminder of who Styles is. So tell you what? Next week, Raw in New York, Madison Square Garden, Styles calls out Logan Paul, and we see if he talks all that trash. And as far as Kross goes, if he tries to be the devil on Styles shoulder… God knows Styles’ even ways. Styles heads out, and Kross says that was easy.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Lyra Valkyria VS Ivy Nile!

The Morrigan fought Dakota Kai, who beat the Diamond Pitbull in their #1 Contender’s Match. But Ivy is not going to let “Master” Chad Gable down. Will Ivy see to it that the Women’s Intercontinental Championship is American Made? Or will Lyra continue to soar with her #ShinyShiny?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if there’s a change of fortunes!

The bell rings and Lyra SHOTGUNS Ivy down! Lyra stomps away on Ivy in a corner, then brings her up for knee after knee! Ivy falls but Lyra stands her up. Lyra whips Ivy corner to corner, Ivy reverses, but Lyra goes up and over! Lyra then baits Ivy into a HIP TOSS and cover, ONE! Lyra whips Ivy, Ivy blocks a hip toss, but Lyra body blows! Lyra goes up and over, only for Ivy to LARIAT! Ivy huffs ‘n’ puffs while the fans boo, but Ivy rains down fists! Ivy stalks Lyra to ropes, brings her around and whips her to a corner. Ivy then runs up, but Lyra goes up and over, cartwheels and returns! Lyra sweeps the legs, basement dropkicks, then hoists Ivy up!

NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Ivy bails out, Lyra runs and she WRECKS Ivy with a dropkick! Lyra puts Ivy in the ring, then goes up the corner! The fans fire up but Ivy runs up! Lyra BOOTS Ivy, but then Ivy grabs the other leg! SUPER DRAGON SCREW! And then a standard DRAGON SCREW! The ref checks Lyra, Ivy taunts her, and Raw goes to break.

Raw returns and Ivy has Lyra by the leg in a HALF CRAB! The fans rally for Lyra as she endures, but Ivy DRIVES the knee into the mat! Ivy then grabs the leg again, but Lyra stands out of the smash! Roll up, TWO! Ivy goes for the leg, but Lyra blocks and backslides, TWO! Ivy kicks the bad leg! Ivy RAMS Lyra into a corner, then puts her up top. Ivy then runs up, but Lyra BOOTS her! Lyra leaps, CROSSBODY! Ivy rolls through and deadlifts Lyra! The Female Titan pops Lyra up, but Lyra slips free to scoop and POWERBOMB! But Lyra can’t make the cover! The fans rally as Lyra hobbles and eggs Ivy on! Ivy stands, into a LARIAT!

Lyra LARIATS, SOBATS, KNEES, and KICKS, but Ivy blocks! Lyra ENZIGIRIS! The fans fire up and Lyra hurries to bring Ivy around. TORNADO- NO! Ivy stops the DDT and suplexes Lyra up and over! Cover, TWO! Ivy is stunned but the fans fire up! Ivy hauls Lyra up to scoop, but Lyra cradle counters! TWO, and both women hurry up! Ivy BOOTS Lyra, then whips her to ropes. Lyra reverses, wrenches, spins Ivy, and hits a TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Lyra then drags Ivy up to a fireman’s carry! NIGHTWING- NO, the bad leg gives out! Ivy CLOBBERS Lyra from behind! Ivy then grabs that leg, SHIN BREAKER!

Ivy hoists Lyra up again, SIT OUT BOMB!! Cover, TWO!! But into an ANKLE LOCK!! Lyra endures as Ivy uses what Gable’s taught her! The fans rally as Lyra crawls her way forward! Ivy leans on the leg, but Lyra still fights! Ivy twists that foot, pushes on the knee, but Lyra scrambles to the ROPEBREAK!! The ref counts, Ivy lets go, and Lyra clutches her knee. Ivy drags Lyra back, drags her up, and has the leg again! SHIN- NO, SUNSET FLIP! TWO!! Ivy escapes, goes after Lyra again, but Lyra reaches out! Ivy still GERMAN SUPLEXES! Lyra flounders to a corner, Ivy runs in, but Lyra ducks! Ivy gets stuck on the ropes! Lyra hits a BACK2BACKBREAKER!!

Lyra hurries, fireman’s carries, and hits NIGHTWING!! Cover, Lyra wins!!

Winner: Lyra Valkyria, by pinfall (still WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion)

One good leg was all Lyra needed to end this! Will Master Gable be displeased? Or can The Creed Bothers still complete the mission?

Seth Rollins is ushered out of the building.

Jackie Redmond hurries to get a comment on what went down between him and CM Punk out there, but then Rollins spots Punk! THE FIGHT IS ON AGAIN!! Security gets in there, Adam Pearce shouts at them to stop! Punk and Rollins want to end this in the worst way possible, but what will that look like in the ring?

Raw returns and…

Adam Pearce is personally escorting Rollins out of the building, reprimanding him about putting the show in a bad position, and putting Pearce in a bad position. Rollins sarcastically snaps back that OH~, Pearce is in a bad spot? What’s he even talking about? This is the easiest thing to do! This is the easiest part of Pearce’s job. Punk put himself in a bad position at the Royal Rumble, Rollins made sure Punk wouldn’t make it to Mania through the Chamber! And if Pearce doesn’t do something about it, Rollins will do to Punk like he did Roman, and he will guarantee Punk never makes it to Mania AT ALL!

This is NOT a difficult thing. Rollins or Punk, this is the hill he’ll die on. Then he’s going to fight until the last? Yes! Rollins will finish it! Fine! Then finish it! Next week, Madison Square Garden, CM Punk VS Seth Rollins, INSIDE A STEEL CAGE! Now get on your bus, because Pearce doesn’t want to see Rollins again until next week. Rollins grins, Pearce has guards positioned outside the bus, but will there be anything of Rollins and Punk left after they fight in MSG?

Ludwig Kaiser is in the ring.

Buffalo boos as The Impeccable German has a mic. He says after last week, he is especially demanding ALL their gratitude for him, Ludwig Kaiser! They boo, and he says exactly. Last week, he took back what was always his to begin with: he took back all the attention. The attention Penta had, and the attention Ludwig has deserved for a long time. Yeah, go ahead, boo all you want! But if you were honest with yourselves, you’d know Ludwig is the future World Heavyweight Champion, whether you like it or not! And as for Penta… If Penta really thinks that they still have unfinished business, maybe reconsider.

Because what John Cena did to Cody Rhodes on Saturday will be nothing compared to what Ludwig is prepared to do to Penta. They call Penta the man with no fear, but believe Ludwig when he tells you, you will know what fear feels like. But then the lights go down! PENTA IS HERE! The fans fire up as Penta gets his pyro, then swaggers down to the ring. But then Penta rushes in and dodges Ludwig, for a RANA! Ludwig staggers up, throws a lariat, but Penta dodges to SUPERKICK! Penta pump handles, but Ludwig slips free! The fans boo but Ludwig ROCKS Penta! Ludwig comes back, but gets another SUPERKICK!

Penta runs to SLING-DOG! The fans fire up, but Ludwig TOSSES Penta! Penta skins the cat, and he RANAS Ludwig up and out! The fans are thunderous, but Ludwig gets up again! Penta triangle jump LARIATS! Ludwig falls, Penta says, “CERO! MIEDO!” And he FLIES! Down goes Ludwig at the ramp! Ludwig thought he could get the better of Penta but he was sadly mistaken! Will Penta be the one standing tall

Backstage interview with Bianca Belair.

Cathy Kelley is with The EST, and firstly, congratulations on winning the Elimination Chamber. But to say that day was an emotional roller coaster is an understatement. First, Jade Cargill’s return where she goes after Naomi, the one superstar Bianca trusted most of all. How is Bianca processing this? Did she talk to either of them? Bianca says out of respect to both of them, she first needs to talk to both of then, because it is all very confusing. Things were bittersweet on Saturday because Bianca feels guilty. Guilty because just as sad as she is about what happened with Jade and Naomi, she is equally as proud about what she accomplished.

Tonight, Bianca just wants to focus on finding out who she challenges at WrestleMania. Iyo Sky is one of the best, she and Bianca have battled it out over the past few years. Then Rhea Ripley is one of the most dominant women in the WWE, and both have been racing to the mountaintop. But no matter who it is, Bianca knows they will remember why you can’t spell WrestleMania without E S T! Bianca heads out, and we see Maxxine and Natalya in the background. What could the Alpha Queen and the Queen of Harts be discussing?

Chad Gable searches in Mexico.

He asks around for the man Dominik Mysterio told him about, but no one wants to talk about “that guy.” Gable walks down the road, turns a corner, and he spots someone. They ask if he’s Chad Gable. Do they know him? They were waiting for Gable. Wait, this is the guy? This is the one who will help Gable beat luchadores? The man tells Gable that he cannot fight what he doesn’t understand. Gable must himself become lucha libre. Well, he’s come too far to give up now. What’s he gotta do? The man presents Gable with a box. But he also wants some money. Gable gives over bill after bill, all Benjamin Franklins.

The man gives Gable the box, and says he will now wield power beyond his understanding. Gable opens the box, and is in awe! Gable takes the item out, but it cuts away! What could it be? And will it be worth the price he paid?

WWE World Tag Team Championships: The War Raiders VS The Creed Brothers!

Erik & Ivar gave Julius & Brutus a shot already, but then the Creeds took the low road by clobbering them with their belts. Luckily for the Creeds, Erik & Ivar want to keep fighting! Will the raid continue on down the Road to WrestleMania? Or will these titles soon be American Made?

The introductions are made, the belts are played, and we see who runs the tag division!

The teams sort out and Erik starts against Julius. They tie up, break, then tie up again. They go around the ropes, around and around again, then Julius waistlocks. Erik powers Julius back, but Julius avoids the elbow! Erik headlocks, the two clinch in the corner, and then Julius shoves Erik. Erik shoves back, they tie up and roll on the mat! They get up, Julius puts Erik in the corner, and Brutus tags in! The Creeds mug Erik, and Brutus snarls. The fans boo but Brutus tags Julius back in. They stomp away on Erik, talk trash, then drag Erik to a cover, ONE! Erik is tougher than that, but Julius puts Erik in the corner.

Tag to Brutus, he clinches Erik, but Erik scoops and SLAMS! Tag to Ivar and he LARIATS! And LAIRATS! Julius gets in but then backs off. Brutus CLOBBERS Ivar from behind! Julius DROPKICKS Ivar to the floor! Brutus tags in and the Creeds get Ivar up! They RAM Ivar into steel steps! The Creeds tell Gable that they’re gonna bring these belts home! Ivar is down, and Raw goes to break.

Raw returns and Brutus tags back in. The Creeds mug Ivar, then DOUBLE SUPLEX, and they hold Ivar up! Then the SLAM at TEN! Cover, TWO!! Ivar survives and the fans rally up. Ivar ROCKS Brutus, ELBOWS Julius, repeat, then he SEATED SENTONS Brutus! Julius tags back in, and he hurries to get Ivar’s legs! Ivar KICKS Julius away, hot tag to Erik! Erik rallies on Julius with forearm after forearm, then he wrenches and clinches! EXPLODER! Brutus is back, Erik dodges, then he SPINEBUSTERS Brutus! Erik whips Julius to a corner, Julius goes up and over then rolls, but into a SHOTGUN KNEE from Erik!

The fans fire up with Erik and “WAR! WAR! WAR!” Erik runs at Julius, ACE TEN MAOU! Tag to Ivar, they get Julius up, whip and POP-UP, to THOR’S HAMMER! Cover, TWO!! Julius survives but Ivar tags Erik back in. They get Julius up one more time, DOUBLE- NO, Julius slips free, and he JUMP KNEES Erik! Then he POSTS Ivar! OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY for Erik! Tag to Brutus and he goes up! OLYMPIC SLAM from Julius, 450 SPLASH from Brutus! Cover, TWO!?! Erik survives, but BRUTUS SMASH! Brutus tags Julius in, then Julius stands Erik up. Fireman’s carry, but Erik fights free!

Erik goes to his corner,. ELBOWS Julius away, then goes up. Julius ROCKS Erik, CHOPS him, then positions him just right. Erik fights back, ROCKS Julius, then DECKS him! Ivar sneaks the tag, Julius goes up after Erik! Julius kicks Ivar away, then SUPER DUPER PLEXES Erik! Brutus is up top, MOONSAULT but Erik moves! Ivar gets in and he has Brutus in his sights! Another hard fought battle, but another hard fought victory for Erik & Ivar! Happy Birthday to the War Beard, Ivar, will any team be able to stop the raid at this point?

The LWO speaks.

Joaquin Wilde says, “Well done, New Day. Last week, you stomped on our pride, you bruised our bodies…” Cruz Del Toro says, “But you can’t take our hearts. And you can’t take our spirits.” Dragon Lee says, “And you won’t take our fire. New Day tried to put my brothers down last week. But they couldn’t get the job done. And here we are, stronger than ever.” Rey Mysterio steps in and says they should’ve finished what they started. They got cocky, went on a vacation, and so they should enjoy it while they can. Because next week, Rey & Dragon give New Day the worst Monday of their lives! They will face LWO in a TORNADO TAG MATCH!

You know what that means, don’t you? No tags, no disqualifications! Just four men throwing down! And let Rey just say how proud he is of his group, how proud he is of his Latinos, and how proud he is to say this in his language: New Day pare madre! NEW DAY SUCKS! The King of Lucha has returned, will he and the Boy Wonder humble Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods once and for all?

Finn Balor is in the ring.

The Prince interrupts Bron Breakker’s crowd-side interview with Jackie Redmond as he gets the mic. Finn tells Bron, “The only reason you’re still Intercontinental Champion is because the Judgment Day have allowed you to remain Intercontinental Champion.” The fans boo that, but Bron says the reason he is still champion is because he’s a DOG! The fans bark for that. Bron says the last time he checked, he embarrassed ALL of the Judgment Day! Finn says oh, embarrassed Judgment Day? This is Finn Balor, he chews up rookies like Bron in this business because Finn is untouchable! UNTOUCHABLE! Finn could take that title any time he likes!

Now, Bron is clearly just a little bit smarter than he looks, up there hiding behind Jackie, because he knows the first time he steps into the ring with Finn, there won’t be dogs barking. They’d just be watching Finn put Bron down! Bron storms off the set and goes to ringside! The fans fire up and bark again, and Finn says okay then, let’s go! Bron reaches the ring, but Carlito runs up! Bron KICKS and TOSSES Carlito! The trap didn’t quite work, but here comes Dom! Dom leaps, into Bron’s arms! OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY! Bron glares at Finn, the fans bark, but Finn gets Bron with a SLINGBLADE first!

Finn rains down fists on Bron, the fans boo, but Bron gets loose. Finn trips Bron to STOMP him down! Finn gets fired up, but Bron gets him by the neck! Military press! Bron then turns it to a BREAKKER SLAM! Bron rips his shirt away, then builds up speed! Dom saves Finn by getting him out of the ring! The fans boo but Bron keeps his eyes on the Judgment Day. Wait, Dom & Finn are on the ramp, so that leaves… Carlito at ringside! Bron grins, then runs to SPEAR Carlito!! Caribbean Cool just got crushed, will it only be a matter of time before Finn feels the same?

Jey Uso checks with The Alpha Academy backstage.

They thank Jey for making the save. Jey says he’s got “Big Daddy.” They shake hands, then move on. Cathy Kelley walks in and says it was very noble of Jey to help The Alpha Academy, but we are still weeks away from his world title match with Gunther. Does that throw Jey off his game at all? Jey takes a moment, and says yeah, a little bit. A little bit. But what he’s going through in his life, it’s the wrong time to be playing games with him. That’s all he hears all week! “He can’t do it!” Every week that goes by, Gunther has Jey doubting himself! But look! Backed against the wall, Jey suffocating, but nobody gonna pick him up but himself!

Gunther, you said it was gonna be ten weeks of Hell! But Jey walks through the valley of the shadow of death and fears no evil! Jey is telling you now, Uce, at WrestleMania, he is crashing out! He hopes Gunther can pray. Gunther tried to put Jey to sleep tonight, but he woke up a damn beast! Four letters, one word! UH UH… YEET!! Jey storms out into the literal cold of night without a shirt, will nothing put out that fire inside him now?

Bianca Belair goes to ringside.

The EST did say earlier tonight that she’s going to enjoy watching this Women’s World Championship match. One way or another, we learn who will defend that title against her! Will it be Mami and her brutality? Or will the Evil Genius of the Sky book a ticket to Las Vegas?

WWE Women’s World Championship: Rhea Ripley VS Iyo Sky!

Raw returns and Iyo makes her entrance, followed by Rhea’s. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who meets Bianca for WrESTleMania!

Rhea is tougher than that, and the fans rally while both women are down. The fans rally up more as both women rise. Iyo ROCKS Rhea! Rhea ROCKS Iyo! The forearms go back and forth, then faster and faster! The fans duel, and then Rhea ROCKS Iyo with a haymaker! But Iyo ducks the roundhouse!

Iyo grabs an arm, wrangles Rhea, but Rhea powers up and scoops! Iyo slips free, shoves Rhea, and then victory- NO, Rhea stops the roll this time! WHEELBARROW FACEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Rhea climbs up, hoists Iyo to the very top, and h its a SUPER BACK SUPLEX! Cover, TWO!! Iyo survives again and Rhea is shocked! “This is Awesome!” but Rhea is furious! Rhea says this is it! PRISM TRAP!! Iyo endures, reaches out, but Rhea SWINGS her away from ropes! Iyo tries for the other side, and she rolls to POST Rhea! Rhea flops out of the ring, the fans rally up again, and Rhea goes to the apron. Iyo runs in to FLYING SUNSET FLIP BARRIER BOMB!!

Iyo puts Rhea in, hurries up the corner, and OVER THE MOONSAULT!! Cover, ROPEBREAK!! Rhea survives by a literal foot, and even Bianca is stunned! The fans fire up as Rhea bails out, and she hobbles her way to the commentary table. Iyo fires up and DIVES! Direct hit on Rhea! Iyo then goes to the apron, for an- NO, Rhea stops the Asai Moonsault to Electric Chair SLAM off the apron! Then ELECTRIC CHAIR SLAM on the desk!! Bianca and Buffalo cheer while the ring count begins. Rhea and Iyo stir on the floor at 4 of 10, and Rhea rolls in at 5. Iyo stirs at 6, Bianca coaches her, and Iyo rises at 8! Iyo slides in at 9!

Rhea is in disbelief, and she also glares at Bianca for cheering on her opponent. Rhea storms out to ask Bianca what she’s even doing out here. Is Bianca afraid to face Rhea? Bianca says she ain’t scared, but Rhea SHOVES Bianca down! Bianca shoves Rhea back! The ref tells them to break it up! This is a title match, do NOT mess this one up! Bianca backs off, Rhea goes back to the ring, and Rhea goes to Iyo. Rhea says Bianca’s gonna pay for this. Bianca says she’s just here to watch. Rhea drags Iyo up the corner, then pump handles her! Rhea tells Bianca, “See you at Mania!” SUPER DUPER- RANA!!! Iyo turns things around again!!

Iyo goes up, up, and OVER THE MOONSAULT!! Cover, IYO WINS!?!?

Winner: Iyo Sky, by pinfall (NEW WWE Women’s World Champion)

Bianca smiles, then shrugs. Did The EST really mean to affect the outcome? Either way, Rhea still hasn’t beaten Iyo 1v1, and now we have quite the change of plans for WrestleMania! Iyo gets the pyro as she has her moment, but will her reign only be the 47 days until WrestleMania? Or can the Evil Genius come up with winning strategy for Vegas?

My Thoughts:

A great Raw here to follow that awesome Elimination Chamber, but it still could’ve been better. Yes, John Cena’s Heel Turn was very shocking, but did we need multiple segments of recapping and fan reaction for it? Get it all done in one. Though on the flipside, I do like how we got multiple segments with CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Punk had a great Pipebomb 2025 promo that of course segued into a wild brawl at ringside with Rollins, which then also became a brawl backstage. Rollins VS Punk in a Steel Cage for Madison Square Garden is some great stuff, but I feel like even that isn’t definitive enough. Especially when Kevin VS Sami had the “Unsanctioned” match.

They are making the MSG show pretty big since NXT will also be there next week for Roadblock. New Day VS Rey & Dragon in a Tornado Tag is going to be great stuff, and very good promo from the LWO to set that up. Very good promo from Ludwig that turned into a brawl with Penta, and I’m sure we’ll get a great rematch from them, too. Kross egging on Styles to call out Logan Paul is certainly an interesting move, and I fear Kross is going to cost Styles a match against Logan.

American Made sure had a rough night. We finally get Chad Gable’s vignette for his lucha journey, and it didn’t quite deliver. We just get him meeting a guy who we don’t even see his face, and then he has to pay roughly $500 just to get the power of lucha instead of going on a training montage. Though, maybe on some level that works in character because Gable just wants to win, he doesn’t care about what’s right or fair. Lyra VS Ivy and War Raiders VS Creed Brothers were both great matches, but it seems a shame that neither title changed hands. Maybe Gable returns and oddly doesn’t care since he got what he wanted and can now avenge himself against luchadores.

Judgment Day had a similarly tough night. Liv literally still has the mark from Bianca whipping her with the braid, and apparently just expects her and Raquel will pull of a Two Woman Power Trip. Finn still insists on no new members, but I feel like they’re gonna need one since Bron took down him, Dom and Carlito. Bron VS Finn will be a great Intercontinental Championship match, but I would hope we get an even bigger match for WrestleMania. Alpha Academy had a rough night, too, but Otis looked awesome against Gunther tonight. That 75 ranking should be higher for Otis, but maybe most of that power level is put in his strength stat.

Jey of course made another save, and naturally brawled with ATDU a second so that Gunther could stand tall. Jey still has a good promo to turn things around, and it feels more and more like Jey should win the title. Good promo from Bianca, and I suppose she would avoid talking about Jade beating up Naomi. I feel like there’s the tiniest chance she conspired with Naomi to take out Jade and we’ll learn that information down the line, but maybe Bianca just doesn’t want to talk about either Jade or Naomi behind their backs. Rhea VS Iyo was a great main event, and that was a legitimately surprising move to have Iyo win. Bianca being a factor, Rhea could demand a rematch, and I feel like we’re really close to a Triple Threat of Rhea, Iyo & Bianca.

My Score: 8.7/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Daniel Garcia & FTR speak.

The TNT Champion tells Adam Cole, “I see the way that you look at me every time we get into that ring. And that look can only mean one of two things: Either you got a crush on ol’ DG, or you want a shot at this belt. So if a shot at the title is what you want, let’s get it.” Dax Harwood says, “The AEW Tag Division has been lost without FTR. But tonight, we’re back.” Cash Wheeler tells Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, “For the first time in almost 7 years, we step into that ring, and it happens right now.” #TopGuysOut.

The Undisputed Kingdom speaks.

Kyle says, “At one point in time, me and Roderick Strong were the best tag team in the world. Now it’s been six long years since we’ve teamed up and nothing has changed. Well, except we’ve got more experience and more to prove.” Roddy shouts, “F T R~! tonight, it’s Top Guys down.” Adam tells Garcia, “I’ve got all the respect in the world for you. But I don’t want to win the TNT Championship, I need to win the TNT Championship. I’ve never held singles gold here in AEW, and tonight, that changes, because that is Undisputed.”

Julia Hart speaks.

The Princess of the Black Throne tells Queen Aminata, “I heard you want a round two. Let’s hope you don’t regret it. Because the Hart always wins.” But then Kazuchika Okada accidentally steps in. He apologizes to Julia and Brody, saying, “I’m so sorry.” Brody barks at Okada, then he and Julia leave. Okada shines up the Continental Championship belt so he can look at himself. Will the Rainmaker have to deal with the King of Death soon enough?

“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Bandido speak.

The hometown hero wears a Golden State Warriors jersey as The Most Wanted tells him tonight, they’re in Hobbs’ hometown, amigo! Hobbs says he and Bandido will “handle town bidness.” Hobbs & Bandido are set to take on Big Bill & Bryan Keith, will the Learning Tree’s Branches finally be cut down?

FTR VS Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong!

As we heard both sides say, it’s been a minute since these two teams faced off. This may not be the Black ‘n’ Gold, but will one of these teams head for tag gold in the near future?

The teams sort out and Roddy starts against Cash. They go around, Cash waistlocks, and they go around some more as Roddy works on the escape. Roddy wrenches free, wristlocks, but Cash rolls. If they’re to beat Kyle & Roddy, it has to be undisputed. Kyle wakes up, and he even clings to the ropes, thinking the match is still going. Dax & Cash talk with the ref, the ref still wants to declare this over, but FTR refuses! They want the match to continue! Are they sure? Yes, they are!

The ref tells the ring announcer that this match is going to restart! The fans cheer, the bell rings, and Dax POSTS Kyle! Dax then gives Kyle a moment to get up before he goes for the buckle. The irony of FTR playing fair, they would’ve won this earlier! But now, Kyle & Roddy snatch that victory away for their own! FTR regroup, and they accept this defeat. Roddy & Kyle offer handshakes, but FTR reject those! Will FTR just have to accept that there are new top guys in AEW?

Willow Nightingale speaks.

“The Con-chair-to I gave Marina Shafir echoed through the entire building. I know it’s still ringing in her ears. I know the Death Riders all heard it, and I hope everyone in the locker room heard it, too. I have gone through so much in AEW. Through it all, I kept smiling. But a few people have forgotten what happens when the smiling stops. Cope knows, Jay White knows, and Mox knows, too. I am the Babe with the Power, and I’m not afraid to use it.”

Wheeler Yuta VS Willie Mack!

Speaking of the Death Riders, The Decoder is the only pawn left. Will Jon Moxley be able to have one line of defense at Revolution? Or will The Return of the Mack to AEW indirectly help Cope out?

The bell rings, the fans rally for Mack as he and Yuta circle. They tie up, Yuta waistlocks and CLUBS Mack on the back. Yuta bumps Mack off buckles, then CHOPS! Mack frowns, but Yuta RAMS into him! Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall

Yuta withstood the Mack attack, and he glares into the camera as if he’s daring The Rated R Superstar to try something. Well first, Jon Moxley makes his way out, carrying the AEW World Championship briefcase for himself for once. And he CLOBBERS Mack with it! The fans boo but The Maniac has Yuta hold onto the case. Moxley soaks up the heat from Oakland to then force a cameraman to get in the ring. Moxley also grabs a mic, then he tells Oakland, “This is none of your business! I’ve got a lesson to teach my young protege here about finishing the job.”

Moxley tells Yuta that when he says ready, go take Cope out. Understood? Yuta nods, but Moxley says Cope cannot leave the ring under his own power. Cope cannot have a clear shot at the title, this is what Yuta was made for. Cope does NOT walk away! So finish the job. Moxley clamps onto Mack and tells Yuta to finish the job! Yuta CLOBBERS Mack with the briefcase! Mack falls in a heap, and Moxley takes his leave. The Decoder will battle Adam Copeland this Wednesday, will the last Dynamite before Revolution be Cope’s last Dynamite period? Or is no one ready to get Rated R like Cope?

Mercedes Mone speaks.

“Oaklaaand~! You better say hello to your C E-” Oh hey, it’s Billie Starkz! She has the TBS Championship after how Mone ran away without it last Wednesday. Mone is mad, and she says, “Gimme this!” Mone snatches the title back, Billie says Momo wants Mone to enjoy this while it lasts. Because at Revolution, Momo takes that title for her own. Oh, and Billie got Mone some tea. Billie SPLASHEs it in Mone’s face, payback of her own! Mone is furious, but will she be further humiliated when she downgrades from #FourBeltsMone to just three?

Toni Storm speaks.

Timeless Toni is bedridden, wearing a neck brace, as she says, “You know the nice part about being piledriven on stage and waking up to panicked doctor and dozens of messages asking me if I’ll ever walk again? It really gives you time to think. It gives you time to think if this has all been worth it, or if the past 15 years of my life have been a complete waste of time. Because my dreams have been haunted by a woman who won’t let me wake up. Darling, let’s get lucid. What do you want, Mariah? My title? You can pry it from my cold, dead hips. My soul? I’m going to leave at home. Or do you just want the spotlight that drove you to me in the first place? Now that, I can give you.

“Did you like Australia? Because I consider it foreplay. You want a Hollywood ending? Well so do I. And because nothing ever ends well in Tinsel Town… Disqualifications? I don’t want them. count outs? I don’t need them. Ropebreaks? Piss off! Not a single hold will be barred, and falls count anywhere in the entire bloody building! Mariah… My sweet, dear Mariah… I hope you believe in God, because now… You’re going to meet Her!” Toni yanks her neck brace off, and The Hollywood Ending is now ANYTHING GOES! Will this trilogy’s end be truly timeless?

Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Clark Connors!

While the Realest is set to face the One & Only once again, with one of them becoming #1 contender to the AEW World Championship, he must sharpen his edge. Will the Most Dangerous Man stand tall against 100 Proof? Or will this War Dog win one for Bullet Club?

Swerve will take Ricochet down and take back “our legacy!” The contract signing is this Wednesday, will these two keep it to just putting pen to paper?

AEW shares footage from after last Wednesday Night Dynamite.

The Hurt Syndicate was heading out, ready to have some steaks, when The Outrunners hurried after them. They hope MVP saw that out there! Truth & Turbo did it! They beat the Murder Machines! And now they’re gonna get their chance at the titles, they can’t thank MVP enough! Yes, MVP did see that. But did you see when the Hurt Syndicate went out there, distracted Lance Archer and all that, and then they capitalized on that? No, didn’t think so. But hey, they are men of honor and men of their word, Hurt Syndicate will face The Outrunners for the titles.

But there’s still time before the PPV. MVP suggests they get their business in order. At Revolution, Truth & Turbo will be swimming with sharks. Turbo thought they were wrestling, but sure! This is great, they thank MVP again. The Hurt Syndicate head out, and Truth says this is it! They’ve waited 20 long rookie years for this! They’re gonna be the champs! Truth & Turbo shake hands on it, but will this be their rise to the top? Or will they learn The All Mighty & The Standard of Excellence mean it when they say #WeHurtPeople?

Harley Cameron joins commentary.

Oakland is fired up for the wild Aussie, but Tony Schiavone says she’s not scheduled for anything in particular. What’s she got on her mind? Harley says that as we all know, she just won a big match on Dynamite against Deonna Purrazzo. Schiavone says that’s right, and she got the win. They watch a replay of that finish, and Schiavone congratulates her on that win. Harley thanks him for that, and yes, she has gotten going. And after she hit Deonna with “that,” she couldn’t help but notice that commentary didn’t really call it anything. Nigel McGuiness says that to be fair, Nigel wasn’t there.

But if he had a dollar for every move Tony Schiavone didn’t know the name of, Nigel would be a millionaire. Schiavone says more like just $3. But he didn’t know that Harley was gonna pull that move out so he didn’t know what to call it. Harley says she really hadn’t, so she just gave it a shot. It worked out, so what should we name it? Harley wants to name her finishing move? Yes, she wants to name her finishing move. Wait! That’s it! It’s Harley’s Finishing Move! GENIUS! What? That way, whenever she hits it, just say it! That’s Her Finishing Move! EXACTLY! Schiavone is a genius! And now, FEEL THE WRATH!

Big Boom AJ speaks.

“There’s a lot of ego around here in AEW, and the disrespect of the double chunk chocolate cookie! And he tells Papa AJ that he found somebody! C’mon in! It’s Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy! That makes three! Whoa, whoa, Big Justice. You will be one of the best wrestlers one day. Maybe even AEW World Champion.

But for Revolution, Justice is better served in the corner. Cassidy says it’s fine, he has a friend. Here comes Mark Briscoe! The Sussex County Chicken says Big Justice can stand down, his opportunity to kick butt in the ring will come in the future! Of that, Briscoe is sure! But for now, please allow Mark Briscoe to do the ass whoopin’, cuz his main man with the game plan, OC, called him up on the cellphone and said, “Do you wanna do some conglomeratin’?” Mark said damn right! The Rainmaker mocks the barking, then flips Brody off! Okada beat Buddy in Australia, and he has made Brody the prey rather than the hunter! But will Okada regret punking out Brody like that?

Kenny Omega speaks.

“While I was out for an entire year, having to sit in bed, watching the shows on TV, wondering if I’d ever wrestle again, I had to hear Uncle Don every single week, week in and week out, talk about how Takeshita beat Kenny Omega twice in one week. Takeshita beat Kenny Omega twice in one week, twice in one week, twice in one week. It tends to get on your nerves. It tends to piss you off. And I’m not gonna lie, I’m pissed off as it is. But what I’m about to do to you, Takeshita, it isn’t about revenge. No, it’s not about you beating me twice in one week. It’s about what you hold and what it represents. That belt.

“Because he who holds the belt is regarded as the best. And if you can beat me three times, Takeshita… Maybe it’s time for me to admit something. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that you’re better. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that you really were Don’s real meal ticket. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that I can never challenge for a major belt ever again, and that the old Kenny Omega is gone. But the way that I see it, is that I’ve had an entire year to clear my mind, refocus, hone in on my training, to sharpen all those dull points, to make my weaknesses into strengths.

“Now I don’t have the extra baggage of the friends that left me behind. I don’t have the extra baggage of being an EVP. My entire focus is your belt. It’s not revenge, it’s not because of Don. Not even because of you. I want that gold. At Revolution, I’m taking it.” The Cleaner has made his motives clear, but will he still be The Best Bout Machine? Or is Konosuke Takeshita truly the Alpha to Kenny Omega?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision that had the misfortune of going up against an awesome Elimination Chamber. Though I wonder if having to compete with Elimination Chamber is why they had so many cold open promos this time. FTR VS Kyle & Roddy was still an awesome opening match, and I’m a little surprised they pulled a ropebreak based false finish. But that costing FTR was a clever move, and that’s a great win for Kyle & Roddy. Meanwhile, I should’ve known something would happen during Garcia VS Cole. Garcia VS Cole was definitely better than just Collision, and it fits that STP get involved one more time. The thing is, they already gave us a Triple Threat of Garcia VS Moriarty VS Kyle, so it’s weird if they’re giving us Garcia VS Moriarty VS Cole next.

Great match from Yuta VS Willie Mack to help Death Riders get back up from losing Pac, Claudio & Marina. Yuta VS Cope will be really good but win, lose or draw, you gotta expect Cope and Jay White will take Yuta out. Very good promo from Willow Nightingale, too, and again Willow VS Marina has to be part of the plan. Great match from Swerve VS Connors to show Connors off to a broader American audience, just like with Gabe Kidd last time. Swerve won, of course, so that he has momentum going into the contract signing and #1 contender’s match. That contract signing will definitely show us who’s likely to win at Revolution, though.

We got good stuff from the Hounds of Hell through the cold open and the match of Julia VS Aminata. Aminata winning makes sense, she and Julia are now tied and can have a tiebreaker for like Zero Hour. I would think Julia wins there, and then Aminata has no choice but to face Serena Deeb in that Women’s Pure Rules match in ROH. Okada VS Brody was a natural next step, too, but I don’t think Okada called anyone b*tch tonight so that’s surprising. Great promo from Toni Storm to escalate “The Hollywood Ending,” and great promo from Kenny Omega to put his International Championship in perspective. I would think Toni and Omega each win those matches.

Great promo from Mone and Billie to flip things from Wednesday, and assuming Momo doesn’t win at Revolution, this feels like a natural segue into Mone VS Billie, and then maybe, just maybe, Mone VS Athena happens for All In: Texas, and it’ll be for all the belts between both women. The only downside of that is, I don’t think Mone should become Five Belts Mone and end Athena’s streak, but Mone and TK probably won’t see it that way. I appreciate that in all the years of pro-wrestling that certainly I’ve watched but perhaps ever, Harley Cameron is the first person on screen to go thru the move naming process with commentary. And “Her Finishing Move/Harley’s Finishing Move” is the perfectly simple yet self-aware, meta fourth-wall name for Harley’s move.

Big Boom AJ of course gets back on an AEW PPV, fans still love the guy, and he will make for a fun combination with Cassidy and Briscoe. They will have a great match against #MXMTV, and I would think Big Boom Conglomeration win. Hobbs & Bandido VS Bill & Keith was a great main event, and a natural choice for main event given Hobbs is from Oakland. Hobbs was also the natural choice to win. I have a feeling we’re still getting Hobbs VS Jericho, and if the title is on the line, Hobbs as ROH World Champion is a great move. They can make it Ring of Hobbs!

My Score: 8.7/10
