If I could build the ultimate NXT wrestler, this is what he would look like.

Honorable Mention: Alexander Wolfe’s versatility: NXT traditionally isn’t the place for radical makeovers…unless you are Wolfe. He came in as the wild street punk of Sanity. Now he’s the cold blooded mercenary of Imperium. Those two things could not be more opposite, and he does them both really well. The irony is Imperium Wolfe would absolutely take offense to Sanity Wolfe. 

6. Finn Balor’s mic skills: Balor is so good in ring that I think his promo skills are overlooked and underrated. He’s on point and straightforward, always choosing to say less than more. He says just enough to build the story, but ultimately he lets his action do most of the talking. He is the anti-Pat McAfee.  

5. Karrion Kross’ body: We can debate his in-ring skills all day, but one thing is undeniable. Kross is built like a world champion. He’s big enough to stand nose to nose with anybody, but not so big that it slows him down or decreases his agility. From power to submission, there is no move he couldn’t believably hit.    

4. Trent Seven’s selling: Seven makes every opponent look devastating. He takes a forearm and hits the canvas like a  sack full of mashed potatoes. He leaves every match looking like he doesn’t want to get hit like that again. For the sake of his long term health, I hope wrestling isn’t as hard on him as he makes it look.    

3. Swerve Scott’s athleticism: Some guys move like they were made to wrestle. Swerve moves like he would be a star in any sport. Center field. Cornerback. Ninja Warrior. I bet he could pick up a tennis racket and advance at Wimbledon. 

2. Ilya Dragunov’s intensity: His motor is always cranked to 11. He never slows down. He is water in human form. He never stops. He is relentless. He only moves forward. He always finds a way to break through even the tiniest crack. Un…Be…Sieg…Bar! 

1. Roderick Strong’s technical ability: If Bret Hart is the Excellence of Execution, then Strong is the Picture of Perfection, the Maven of the Mat. I’ve never seen him miss. When it comes to technical in-ring performance, you can only be as good as Roderick Strong. You can’t be better. And if you have the right cheat code, you can upgrade and acquire his stamina.
