He feels when the weight gets heavier every single day, week, month. It’s a chip on his shoulder! There will be gold on these shoulders one day. Not only is Sammy carrying Dark, but he’s carrying Dynamite and every PPV he’s on because he’s the best worker in AEW!

Clap for the GOAT! But Sammy sets the record straight: he’s here because of work, and that work will get him every single championship AEW has! Death Triangle celebrates in the ring, Penta and Fenix are rolling! Will they settle things with The Butcher & The Blade while also going for the gold?
My Thoughts:
A very good Dark, but I have to say the main event should’ve had more time to breathe. Lucha Brothers VS Chaos Project was good for being under 10 minutes but they could easily have gotten this to 15 minutes if they wanted. The Acclaimed had a great match with Dean and Fuego, and Caster had another good diss rap. I like the character bits with Luchasaurus and Cutler, and I guess Cutler’s been acting like he’s a real dragon outside of Dynamite and Dark. There’s great irony in Luchasaurus, who claims to be a real dinosaur man, calling out Cutler as a fake dragon man. Cutler’s little win streak is over but I’m sure he’ll get back on track with next week’s Dark.
Australiano is crazy doing all those spinning moves, and I really did think he and Sammy got hurt a few different times. Sammy wins, Santana and Ortiz win, they’re all going strong into the Inner Circle’s Triple Threat Tag, but I’m pretty sure they’re losing because it just feels like Jericho and MJF are taking the win. Hardy and Private Party had a good moment, but I hope Kassidy isn’t hurt there. Apparently something big happened on Impact tonight with them, so hopefully they can follow through.
And while Peter Avalon VS Lee Johnson in a “Walk Off” sounds really goofy, I bet it’ll be a lot of fun, and it is at least good progression of this character for Avalon. I wonder if Johnson wins to infuriate Avalon and then we get a match between them where Johnson ends Avalon’s own win streak. Dark being as long as it is, we need story progression to keep viewer interest.
My Score: 8.1/10

PLAY BY PLAY
MJF is outside…?
“‘Hangman Did Nothing Wrong,’ that’s what you people like to say. But I disagree. See, what you decided to do, Adam, is decided to poke and prod the Devil. What I did to your boy, Christopher Daniels, friend, that was light work. See normally, I like to play with my food before I eat it. But Hangman, you got me feeling hungry. You got me wanting to take a bite out of that cute, blue-eyed baby face of yours. You got me wanting to prove a point to your s*itty little mark fan club! So you wanna call me out, Hangman? You wanna find me? You wanna fight me? I ain’t hard to find! I’m in the streets of Sacramento!”
If Hangman wants to talk Buckshots, MJF has a bullet with a name on it, and it reads, “HANGMAN! HANGMAN! HANGMAN! You wanna shoot, Cowboy? Well then saddle up, mother effer, and let’s ride!!” The Scumbag is on one tonight, but will he regret lighting that fire inside of Adam Page?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Standing by the table that’s already set up, Schiavone notes we have an irate MJF. But tonight, it is time for the contract signing for the rematch at AEW Revolution, which is also a #1 Contender’s match to the AEW World Championship. First welcome out, alongside Prince Nana, SWERVE STRICKLAND! The Sacramento Memorial Auditorium is now “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as The Realest heads to the ring, Nana doing the signature Swerve When I Drive dance. The fans fire up as Swerve steps in and takes his seat at the table. Schiavone welcomes out now Swerve’s opponent, Ricochet!
The fans boo as The One & Only walks out, not wearing the Embassy robe, but still wearing a backwards baseball cap to represent the Philadelphia Eagles. Ricochet goes to the ring, shows off the hat, then takes his seat across from Swerve. The fans chant “You Suck! You Suck!” at Ricochet but Schiavone has them get to business. Each man will have a chance to comment before signing. Schiavone points out that Ricochet isn’t wearing the Embassy robe that he stole months ago. Where is it? Ricochet says don’t worry about where his robe is, and don’t worry, we’ll all see it again on Sunday. It is in good hands, getting some, uh, upgrades, if you will.
Nana gets made and steps up, but Swerve holds him back. Ricochet says for Swerve to get “grandpa” under control until something really does happen to the robe. The fans boo, but Ricochet says we’re all excited. Swerve has done plenty of contract signings before, right? But none of them really ended well for him either. Ricochet showed up, he’s here, so now no one has to worry about Swerve’s house being burned down again. Ricochet laughs but the fans boo at his rude joke. Swerve leans in and says just sign the contract. Ricochet says of course, of course, but he’s a superstar, and superstars need time to shine before they sign.
But don’t worry, Swerve. You’re lucky. You’re lucky Ricochet is even here, is even humoring the rematch, because Ricochet should be done with Swerve! Swerve is the one that started this, that stuck his nose in Ricochet’s business. Swerve and all his little fans chose to mock Ricochet. Get it right! Swerve chose to mock and bully and embarrass Ricochet! And what happened? Even in the face of all that, Ricochet still beat Swerve. Yeah, that’s right! Ricochet won! That’s why Swerve mad! Because Ricochet won. Then just sign the contract. Oh, don’t worry, Ricochet will. The fans again chant “You Suck! You Suck!” at Ricochet.
Ricochet tells Swerve that now, Ricochet is one step away from achieving his goal of becoming AEW World Champion! So yeah, he’s more focused than ever! Ricochet is focused on Jon Moxley, he is focused on Adam Copeland, and he is focused on being exactly who he was always supposed to be: THE AEW World Champion! The fans boo, but Ricochet finally signs on the dotted line. Ricochet says, “Now don’t let Prince Nana down.” Swerve tells Ricochet to shut the hell up! The fans cheer that! Swerve says Ricochet is SO annoying! He is an entitled, self-righteous little p*ick, isn’t he?! Ricochet says no he’s not.
Swerve says yeah, he did start this, all to expose Ricochet for the cowardly fraud that he is! And on Sunday, that is exactly what Swerve’s gonna do. Does Ricochet think some low blow victory means something? He thinks that’s impressive? Ricochet stole the Embassy robe, he stuck Swerve with scissors and left him a bloody mess in the middle of the ring. But the biggest mistake Ricochet made is he left Swerve breathing. And with Swerve standing here, it will be Swerve breathing down Ricochet’s neck until he ends Ricochet! Ricochet mocks how scary that sounds, but Swerve says, “Awakening the Most Dangerous Man in AEW is a mistake that you’re gonna learn to regret to live with.”
The fans cheer on “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Swerve says this Sunday, Revolution, Swerve carves his path back to the AEW World Championship. Not just by running through Ricochet, but by putting Ricochet in the ground. And there will only be two things Ricochet will be remembered for. One of them is that Swerve briefly revived Ricochet’s career. The other is Ricochet’s ring announcer wife. Ricochet gets mad while the fans go wild! Swerve signs his part, so it is now official! Swerve wants Ricochet to do something now, but then Ricochet brings out the scissors! Swerve stops that, and shows he has HIS OWN SCISSORS!
Swerve JABS Ricochet in the face with his scissors! The fans are fired up for “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” while Ricochet flounders, blood pouring from his forehead! The contender’s match is Sunday, but there’s still tonight’s “Road to Revolution” tag match! Will Ricochet get his revenge alongside The Rainmaker? Or will Swerve’s House release the Hounds of Hell as he and Brody King stand together?

Adam Copeland VS Wheeler Yuta!

Pac was first, then with Willow Nightingale’s help, Claudio Castagnoli and Marina Shafir fell on the same night. The Decoder is the last line of defense, will even he be the victim of a Con-Chair-To? Or does Yuta have what it takes to cope with the situation?

Yuta arm-drags Cope, arm-drags again, then DROPKICKS! Yuta kips up, soaks up heat, then runs corner to corner. Cope puts Yuta on the apron, ROCKS him, then slides under to YANK Yuta down! Winner: Adam Copeland, by pinfall
The Decoder was good, but Cope had his own solution to the puzzle! But now the question is… What will Cope do to Yuta? Cope has a mic, and he shakes Yuta’s hand?! Cope tells Yuta, “This is what respect feels like.” Cope choosing to take a more diplomatic approach here, knowing that what Moxley puts Yuta through is torture enough. Will we see there’s still a shred of dignity inside The Decoder? Oh, wait, speaking of Moxley, he storms out from the crowd! Moxley is upset with Yuta and that handshake, he wanted Yuta and Cope to murder each other! Moxley pushes Yuta around, and says Yuta better not be listening to Cope’s crap.
The fans boo as Moxley bullies Yuta more, pushing and pie facing him around! The fans now chant for Yuta to stand up to Moxley! Yuta does, by pushing past him! Moxley tells Yuta to get back here, then storms to the back to follow him. Moxley says fine, keep walking! If Moxley sees Yuta again…! Moxley grumbles about Cope being a master manipulator, then he talks to Cope through the camera. “Congratulations, Cope, you did it! I’m all alone! I’ll be all alone at Revolution. Defenseless. I’ll be like a sheep. You think you can just pick me off that easy? That’s what you think? Alright, you win, man. You win. You got to me!
“You pissed me off. You distracted me. You’ve wasted my time. You’ve brought out the worst in me, Copeland. You’ve successfully rattled my cage. Congratulations. But the bars were there for your safety. Now you’ve got me all alone, just like you wanted. What’re you gonna do with that, huh? What’re you gonna do to me on Sunday at Revolution? Nothing, that’s what you’ll do. You’ll do NOTHING! Rated R Superstar? You deserve to get your ass beat! And I’m gonna enjoy doing it! I’m gonna enjoy every second of beating your ass, because you deserve it and because I want to. Cuz it’s gonna make me feel good.
“Respect? You’re trying to show this kid about respect with a handshake? No. This business… There is no respect in this business! There never has been! I seem to be the only guy who gets that! You get respect one way in this business: when people know that you are willing to pull the trigger. And you pulled the trigger on me one, two, three times. Sunday at Revolution, I only gotta pull the trigger once.” Moxley storms off, but is he playing right into Cope’s hands? Or will there be no end to The Maniac’s reign of terror?
The Outrunners speak.
Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd meet by the Tower Bridge. Truth says this is their shot, and it may never come again. Turbo says yeah, but they’re ready to win those AEW World Tag Team Championships. WIN! We then get an Outrunners music video, “You Are Not Alone,” supposedly released… in 1987? And the video is of course a training montage straight outta Rocky. Will the Youngest Men Alive have the eye of the tiger as they take on The Hurt Syndicate?
MJF is still outside.
And it would seem he’s waiting for Hangman to come find him. MJF yells, “Hangman! Where you at, bud?” MJF says this is so typical. Renee Paquette walks up to MJF and says he’s obviously waiting for Hangman, but what’s the game plan? MJF says it doesn’t matter, because clearly Hangman isn’t going to show. Your cowboy is a gutless, yellow-bellied coward! And this Sunday, MJF will prove Hangman is not the main character. AEW’s main character, whether you like it or not, is MAXWELL! JACOB! FRIEDMAN! M J F! Wait, that longhorn-adorned R1T is pulling up… And it’s not stopping!! MJF and Renee run for it!
Hangman pulls over, gets out of the truck, and shouts, “Why you running, dumbass?! Get back here!!” Hangman stalks MJF, enters the building, and spots him! Hangman CLOBBERS MJF, they brawl onto the stage, and the fans fire up as Hangman throws MJF into railing! Wait, that’s not MJF! It’s just some guy in a matching suit and scarf! The guy pleads with Hangman, MJF made him do this! What?! MJF then CLOBBERS Hangman from behind! The Scumbag is the real coward, needing a decoy! MJF then THROWS Hangman into the apron! MJF drags Hangman in through the ropes, for a HEAT- NO, Hangman throws MJF away!
MJF’s leg buckles, Hangman takes aim! Slingshot, BUCK- LOW BLOW!! MJF hits Hangman first, then puts Hangman back in the ropes. The fans boo but MJF hits the HEATSEEKER!! MJF takes off his belt, takes off his button-up shirt, and reveals his T-shirt that reads “MJF DID NOTHING WRONG.” The fans boo because that’s just not true. MJF rains down fists on Hangman, security rushes out here, but MJF DECKS each guard, one after the other! MJF then brings out the Dynamite Diamond Ring, puts it on his pinkie, and- HANGMAN TACKLES HIM! The fans fire up as Hangman rains fists down in return!
MJF gets loose, DIAMOND PUNCH!! The fans boo but MJF gives the ring a kiss. MJF then goes out and grabs a mic. “You people love when your precious cowboy burns things, don’t you? Let’s see how you hypocrites feel when I do it.” MJF looks under the ring, and he brings out LIGHTER FLUID! MJF brings that over to Hangman, and he squirts it all over Hangman! The fans boo, but then MJF produces a lighter! Refs, security, producers, they ALL rush MJF! They tackle MJF to get that lighter away from MJF, and then get MJF away from Hangman! MJF shouts, “LEMME PROVE MY POINT!” MJF has gone completely insane!
Security carries MJF away kicking and screaming, but what will happen when he and Hangman face off at Revolution? Will the Devil of AEW actually burn The Cowboy alive?
Backstage interview with Ash Avildsen.
Lexy Nair is with the writer and director of the new film, Queen of the Ring, and asks what he can tell us about the movie. Ash says it is based on the true story of Mildred Burke, a small town single mother that pioneered Women’s Wrestling when it was illegal all over America. It has been an honor for him to bring her story to the screen, to work with all the great people here in AEW, from Tony Khan to Jim Ross, who told him about the original novel, and also introduced him to this leading lady. In steps Timeless Toni Storm! Toni says yes, “Mr. DeMille,” that is true, she is starring in the film as Clara Mortensen, “a vivacious vixen, captivating champion, and gorgeous gal.”
Clearly, it was a stretch for Toni. It is a great film, but her only regret is that her nude scenes were cut from the picture. Ash perfectly plays along as he says, “Now, now, darling.” As wonderful as those scenes were, it still had to be PG-13 so that families could come out and see the picture. Toni is box office gold, she may or may not be living healthily as part of his private collection on Mulholland Drive. Lexy says either way, Toni also has a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette and her challenger, Mariah May. Toni says that is also correct. “Mr. DeMille” shouldn’t watch this one. Things could get ugly.
In the meantime… Chin up, tits out, and watch for the Queen of the Ring, in theaters this Friday, March 7th! And now… We pose! Toni gets her close-up from Ash Avildsen, will Queen of the Ring and Revolution make for back to back blockbusters this weekend? Or will it still be All About Mariah?

“Fate’s Descent” takes down the former AEW Women’s World Champion! But will nothing stop the ascent of the Megasus?
Backstage interview with Mercedes Mone.
Renee gives the full introduction for The CEO, the AEW TBS Champion, #FourBeltsMone, and Mone is so excited. “Sacramentooo~! Say hello to your C E O!” Renee says this Sunday at Revolution, Mone will be facing Momo Watanabe with the TBS title on the line. Mone and Momo met before, but- Mone says she beat Momo. Look, Momo is legit. She is one of the best in Japan, and has beaten some of the best, just to get her shot at Mone. But Mone is the greatest TBS Champion of all time? And there’s no what? Uh, no stopping the Money Train? That’s right, Renee! That’s right!
But before that, AEW Collision will see Momo Watanabe facing Serena Deeb. Does Mone have any predictions for that match? Predictions? We’re talking Serena Deeb here. The Professor of Pro-Wrestling! The Woman of 1000 Holds! So come Collision, Mone will be watching. And Serena will break Momo for Mone. Because come Revolution, it will be a walk in the park. Why? Because that’s the price you pay? NO, not that catchphrase! W-which one then? “Money changes everything.” Well, will Mone get her money’s worth when Momo enters Deeb’s Dojo?
Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge: Max Caster VS ???
Platinum Max is back at it, but uh, he’s already 0-3 at his own challenge. Caster makes sure Justin Roberts introduces himself properly, then he copies MJF with his, “Cut my music, cut my music.” The fans boo but Caster says Sacramento is “lookin’ live at the Best Wrestler Alive. And we all know Platinum Max is the most talked about wrestler in AEW. Whenever I’m in the ring, I hear all the Maximaniacs talking! People over here are saying one thing, people over there are saying another thing. But tonight, I want us to all get on the same page. Try to follow along. Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive! Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!”
What happened to his sense of rhythm? That is way too awkward of a chant. The fans prefer to boo anyway. Caster says alright, that was a good effort. We’re not gonna get it right on day one. They call this Sac Town for a reason: They’re all a bunch of ball bags! The fans boo, but Caster says no worries, there’s business to attend to. Let’s see who can survive the Best Wrestler Alive! It’s JAY WHITE! The fans fire up for The Switchblade while Caster has a bit of a freak-out. Will Caster learn to Breathe with the Switchblade?
The fans tell Caster he messed up! The bell rings, Caster and White circle, but then Caster says hold on. Caster picks up his certificate to show it off, then he tries that stupid chant, “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” The fans still boo, then White catches Caster in a clinch! BLADERUNNER!! White mocks the chant, then covers, White wins!
Winner: Jay White, by pinfall
Rush, Hangman Page, Brody King, and now Jay White. Four in a row, all loses for Platinum Max. But White grabs the mic to say, “At Worlds End, the Rated R Superstar joined the fight against The Death Riders. And since that day, that man has had my back. And since that day, I have had his. And now, Moxley’s all alone. And this Sunday, Revolution, I will be there to see in the NEW AEW World Champion, Cope!” The fans cheer that, and then White makes sure Caster has his certificate. Will Jay White be right? Will we finally have a NEW AEW World Champion?
Sit-down interview with Toni Storm & Mariah May.
As promised, Renee sits down between the AEW Women’s World Champion and her challenger, these former friends turned bitterest of enemies. Renee welcomes us in, thanks them both for agreeing to this talk, and for agreeing to no physicality. Except Mariah immediately SPITS at Toni! Renee is rather startled, and Toni flatly says, “It’s nice to know you still care.” Renee asks Mariah, “What the hell is wrong with you!?” Mariah says, “Me?! It’s her! Look at what she made me do! Look at what she made me do to someone that I love! Sitting there like you’re the victim. You started this! You created all of this!”
Renee says NO, Mariah did this! Mariah came into Toni’s life, she started this! Mariah says she made it all work! All of it! But this is all because of Toni, all because of them together! Toni is nothing without Mariah. That title is nothing without Mariah! Toni survived in Australia, but there will be no surviving at Revolution, because they will both go down together. Is Toni proud of Mariah because she’s a “sick b*tch?” Well, then she’ll be the sickest Toni has ever seen! She is the Woman From Hell, and she will drag Toni down there with her, because deep down, Toni knows that Mariah did it better! Toni is still stern and stoic.
Mariah creeps a little closer, leaning on Renee a bit as she asks, “Isn’t this what you always wanted? A trilogy with your greatest costar, and it’s back where we first shared a ring together, at Revolution. We can have a Hollywood Ending, the one we always dreamed of.” Toni says, “You do not deserve the dignity of death. I sentence you to a lifetime of mediocrity. Your life will continue, your career will continue, and it will be good, but never great. People will like you, but never love you. Because the star that you are will not compare to the monster that you’ve become. So you will dwindle, be replaced, and be forgotten.
“Then one day, many years from now, someone will ask, ‘Whatever will happened to Mariah May?’ She found out what happens when you try to kill God.” Mariah throws her chair aside, she and Toni both stay up, and Renee says she simply prays neither of them gets seriously injured. Both Mariah and Toni tell Renee, “Pray for her.” Win, lose or draw, this WILL be the finale of a true classic! But will it be a tragic ending? Or will it be timeless?

After finally naming Her Finishing Move, Harley Cameron is back in action! Who will #FeelTheWrath here in Sacramento? The Realest and the One & Only opened tonight with their contract signing, and it did NOT go how Ricochet hoped. He has a huge bandage on his forehead after being cut open, but will the Rainmaker help him turn it all around? Or will Swerve’s House and the Hounds of Hell whet their appetites for destruction just days before Revolution?

The ref counts, Okada lets off, and then fakes the chop. Okada pats Swerve on the shoulders, lets him out of the corner, and Ricochet keeps his distance. Swerve and Okada reset, but then Okada backs off to offer Ricochet the tag. Swerve says do it! Ricochet says sure, why not. Okada tags Ricochet in, the fans boo, but then Okada attacks!
Okada and Ricochet mug Swerve, Brody storms in, but the ref has everyone stand down! Ricochet eggs Brody on, but Brody BLASTS Okada! Brody goes out to fire off on Okada and the fans fire up! Swerve fires off on Ricochet, too! Brody sends Okada into railing! Swerve whips Ricochet corner to corner, then back the other way! Swerve runs up, blocks Ricochet’s boots, and he TOSSES Ricochet up and out! Swerve then goes after Ricochet on the outside! Brody sends Okada into more railing! Sacramento is thunderous as Brody holds up a fan sign, and Swerve makes Ricochet take a seat. Swerve then coordinates with Brody.
Brody whips Swerve at Ricochet, and Swerve KNEES Ricochet against the railing! He almost takes out the camera feed with that! But Okada runs up, only for Swerve to dodge! Winner: Ricochet & Kazuchika Okada, by pinfall
Another dirty, underhanded tactic takes the win away from Swerve! Will Ricochet use this exact same strategy to win at Revolution? Or will cheating The Most Dangerous Man in AEW end very, very badly?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode of Dynamite here, especially as a go-home to Revolution. For one, great stuff from MJF and Hangman, such as Hangman making good on his promise to go after MJF with his truck. Very clever stuff with the decoy, and then a very good brawl. MJF threatening to light Hangman on fire was also wild, but a clever direction to take this. Obviously he wasn’t gonna pull it off here, but I’m sure MJF will try it at Revolution. Jack Perry once got set on fire with proper precautions, I wonder if they’ll actually do it for MJF and Hangman.
Great 8 Man Tag to do a lot in the Don Callis Family story at once. While Ospreay’s team wins, them getting beat down does help muddy the go-home math. Obviously Cassidy & Briscoe are going to help Big Boom AJ win against #MXMTV on Sunday, so they have to be figuratively on the ropes here. Davis being reluctantly part of what happened to Ospreay makes me think Davis will ditch the Don Callis Family and help Ospreay win the cage match. And with word Jeff Cobb could be joining AEW in the near future, I feel like the United Empire will finally get going in AEW as a trio to start.
Cope VS Yuta was not at all the match I expected, but clearly that was per Cope’s plan. Cope wants Yuta to understand that he doesn’t have to be alongside Moxley anymore, and for the moment, it seems to have worked. Yuta could still stick by Moxley’s side given Jay White is sticking by Cope’s, but I guess we’ll wait and see. White answering Caster’s open challenge was good stuff given it also did two birds with one stone: Caster continues to lose because of his ego, and White got a win that he can carry to the other side of Revolution.
Very good tag match from Kris & Rosa VS Megan & Ford, and it makes sense the Heels would win this given Megan has already become quite the force here in AEW. Depending on how things go with titles, Megan could easily be in line for at least the TBS Championship. Mone had a very good promo to not only hype her match with Momo on Sunday, but to add a little something to Collision. In fact, Collision is being taped tonight right now after Dynamite so that everyone can rest up before Revolution. Mone on commentary for Momo VS Deeb will be good stuff, but I would think Momo wins. The go-home math will then favor Mone winning on the PPV.
I loved that Outrunners vignette, because it was very on-brand for their 1980s throwback gimmick. But as much as fans love them, and as awesome as it would be for them to pull off the upset, I don’t see Truth & Turbo winning the tag titles just yet. It just seems that we’re going to get Lashley & Shelton VS Archer & Cage first, given how the Hurt Syndicate purposefully made sure Archer & Cage lost the tag match. Though who knows, maybe Archer & Cage are why Truth & Turbo win as payback for that very screw job last week.
Great stuff in the AEW Women’s World Championship story. For one, Ash Avildsen playing along with Toni was a really fun promo. Then, Toni Storm and Mariah May probably gave us AEW’s best sit-down interview promo ever, because of how expectations were subverted from start to finish. Mariah spitting at Toni was her way around the No Physicality Agreement, and then Mariah was rather, uh, bipolar with how she talked to Toni. First she was upset, then she was almost pleading with Toni, because somewhere in that twisted mind, there’s still love there. Toni being completely stern that whole time was also a great way to play it. Their Hollywood Ending Falls Count Anywhere really could go either way, but I’m leaning towards Toni retaining.
And awesome stuff from Swerve and Ricochet tonight. Their contract signing to open was really good, especially with Swerve countering Ricochet’s shiny gold scissors with pitch black scissors. I am pretty sure Ricochet’s “upgraded” Embassy robe will be all about himself, but I would think they’d use a different robe as well, like a stand-in stunt robe or something just so they don’t actually do anything to the Embassy robe. The tag match main event was rather outta nowhere but it was still awesome stuff, and it also serves multiple go-home math equations at once. The Heels stand tall, Ricochet pinning Swerve, because I’m pretty sure Swerve wins at Revolution. Okada VS Brody could still go either way, but it’d be a great honor for Brody to not just beat Okada but to win the title.
My Score: 9/10

Daniel Garcia & FTR speak.
The TNT Champion tells Adam Cole, “I see the way that you look at me every time we get into that ring. And that look can only mean one of two things: Either you got a crush on ol’ DG, or you want a shot at this belt. So if a shot at the title is what you want, let’s get it.” Dax Harwood says, “The AEW Tag Division has been lost without FTR. But tonight, we’re back.” Cash Wheeler tells Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, “For the first time in almost 7 years, we step into that ring, and it happens right now.” #TopGuysOut.
The Undisputed Kingdom speaks.
Kyle says, “At one point in time, me and Roderick Strong were the best tag team in the world. Now it’s been six long years since we’ve teamed up and nothing has changed. Well, except we’ve got more experience and more to prove.” Roddy shouts, “F T R~! tonight, it’s Top Guys down.” Adam tells Garcia, “I’ve got all the respect in the world for you. But I don’t want to win the TNT Championship, I need to win the TNT Championship. I’ve never held singles gold here in AEW, and tonight, that changes, because that is Undisputed.”
Julia Hart speaks.
The Princess of the Black Throne tells Queen Aminata, “I heard you want a round two. Let’s hope you don’t regret it. Because the Hart always wins.” But then Kazuchika Okada accidentally steps in. He apologizes to Julia and Brody, saying, “I’m so sorry.” Brody barks at Okada, then he and Julia leave. Okada shines up the Continental Championship belt so he can look at himself. Will the Rainmaker have to deal with the King of Death soon enough?
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs & Bandido speak.
The hometown hero wears a Golden State Warriors jersey as The Most Wanted tells him tonight, they’re in Hobbs’ hometown, amigo! Hobbs says he and Bandido will “handle town bidness.” Hobbs & Bandido are set to take on Big Bill & Bryan Keith, will the Learning Tree’s Branches finally be cut down?

The irony of FTR playing fair, they would’ve won this earlier! But now, Kyle & Roddy snatch that victory away for their own! FTR regroup, and they accept this defeat. Roddy & Kyle offer handshakes, but FTR reject those! Will FTR just have to accept that there are new top guys in AEW?
Willow Nightingale speaks.
“The Con-chair-to I gave Marina Shafir echoed through the entire building. I know it’s still ringing in her ears. I know the Death Riders all heard it, and I hope everyone in the locker room heard it, too. I have gone through so much in AEW. Through it all, I kept smiling. But a few people have forgotten what happens when the smiling stops. Cope knows, Jay White knows, and Mox knows, too. I am the Babe with the Power, and I’m not afraid to use it.”
Wheeler Yuta VS Willie Mack!
Speaking of the Death Riders, The Decoder is the only pawn left. Will Jon Moxley be able to have one line of defense at Revolution? Or will The Return of the Mack to AEW indirectly help Cope out?

Yuta is tougher than that, but Mack says that’s just fine. Time for some Stone Cold! But Yuta stops the stunner, then dodges, BUSAIKU KNEE!! Cover, Yuta wins!
Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall
Yuta withstood the Mack attack, and he glares into the camera as if he’s daring The Rated R Superstar to try something. Well first, Jon Moxley makes his way out, carrying the AEW World Championship briefcase for himself for once. And he CLOBBERS Mack with it! The fans boo but The Maniac has Yuta hold onto the case. Moxley soaks up the heat from Oakland to then force a cameraman to get in the ring. Moxley also grabs a mic, then he tells Oakland, “This is none of your business! I’ve got a lesson to teach my young protege here about finishing the job.”
Moxley tells Yuta that when he says ready, go take Cope out. Understood? Yuta nods, but Moxley says Cope cannot leave the ring under his own power. Cope cannot have a clear shot at the title, this is what Yuta was made for. Cope does NOT walk away! So finish the job. Moxley clamps onto Mack and tells Yuta to finish the job! Yuta CLOBBERS Mack with the briefcase! Mack falls in a heap, and Moxley takes his leave. The Decoder will battle Adam Copeland this Wednesday, will the last Dynamite before Revolution be Cope’s last Dynamite period? Or is no one ready to get Rated R like Cope?
Mercedes Mone speaks.
“Oaklaaand~! You better say hello to your C E-” Oh hey, it’s Billie Starkz! She has the TBS Championship after how Mone ran away without it last Wednesday. Mone is mad, and she says, “Gimme this!” Mone snatches the title back, Billie says Momo wants Mone to enjoy this while it lasts. Because at Revolution, Momo takes that title for her own. Oh, and Billie got Mone some tea. Billie SPLASHEs it in Mone’s face, payback of her own! Mone is furious, but will she be further humiliated when she downgrades from #FourBeltsMone to just three?
Toni Storm speaks.
Timeless Toni is bedridden, wearing a neck brace, as she says, “You know the nice part about being piledriven on stage and waking up to panicked doctor and dozens of messages asking me if I’ll ever walk again? It really gives you time to think. It gives you time to think if this has all been worth it, or if the past 15 years of my life have been a complete waste of time. Because my dreams have been haunted by a woman who won’t let me wake up. Darling, let’s get lucid. What do you want, Mariah? My title? You can pry it from my cold, dead hips. My soul? I’m going to leave at home. Or do you just want the spotlight that drove you to me in the first place? Now that, I can give you.
“Did you like Australia? Because I consider it foreplay. You want a Hollywood ending? Well so do I. And because nothing ever ends well in Tinsel Town… Disqualifications? I don’t want them. count outs? I don’t need them. Ropebreaks? Piss off! Not a single hold will be barred, and falls count anywhere in the entire bloody building! Mariah… My sweet, dear Mariah… I hope you believe in God, because now… You’re going to meet Her!” Toni yanks her neck brace off, and The Hollywood Ending is now ANYTHING GOES! Will this trilogy’s end be truly timeless?
Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Clark Connors!
While the Realest is set to face the One & Only once again, with one of them becoming #1 contender to the AEW World Championship, he must sharpen his edge. Will the Most Dangerous Man stand tall against 100 Proof? Or will this War Dog win one for Bullet Club?

Swerve says okay, and he CHOPS again! Connors felt that one and he goes to a corner. Swerve says Connors doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Swerve whips Connors corner to corner, UPPERCUTS, then he snapmares to go up. FALLING UPPERCUT! Swerve hits the Griddy, the fans cheer, and Swerve goes back to Connors. Swerve stands Connors up but Connors pulls hair! The ref reprimands, Connors CLAWS Swerve’s eyes, then whips.
Swerve reverses, Connors redirects, and he POUNCES Swerve! Connors argues with the ref about getting in the way. The fans boo but Connors tells them to shut up. Connors says this is HIS house now! He stomps a mudhole into Swerve, then digs his boots in. The ref counts, Connors steps off, and the fans boo again. Swerve rises, Connors GRINDS his face against ropes! The ref counts, Connors lets go, but he KICKS the ropes to jam Swerve up! Connors stalks Swerve to a corner, CHOPS him, but Swerve just snarls. Swerve CHOPS back, so Connors CHOPS again! And again, and again, and again!
The fans fire up while Connors knees low then stomps another mudhole! The ref counts, Connors stops, but then he UPPERCUTS Swerve! Swerve blocks a kick, slips around, and hits a BACKBREAKER! Swerve cartwheels, traps the arm and pulls the other, to then STMOP the arm! Nana says THAT is the Swerve he wants! Connors bails out while Collision goes picture in picture.
Swerve watches Connors as the ref checks that arm. The arm is working so Connors is still in this. Swerve paces while Connors takes his time returning. Connors goes around the way but Swerve is there to grab the arm! Swerve wrenches, ELBOW BREAKERS, and Connors goes back tot he floor. Swerve storms after him, clamps onto the bad arm, and wrenches it for a double wristlock. Swerve then hammerlocks the arm to RAM Connors into railing! Nana is fired up while Connors writhes. Swerve storms up on Connors again, stands him up, and puts him in the ring. Swerve KICKS Connors around, stomps him down, and Collision goes to break.
Collision returns as Swerve twists Connors around in a modified Octopus Stretch. Connors endures, fights, but Swerve knuckle locks and RAMS the bad arm! And RAMS it again, and again! Connors ROCKS Swerve with his forearm again and again, but Swerve ROCKS Connors back! Swerve whips, Connors reverses, then Connors goes the other way! But Swerve dodges the Jeep Flipper and even the powerslam! Gator roll and deadlift, but Connors slips free! Connors shoves Swerve, Swerve bounces off buckles, into the SNAP POWERSLAM! The fans fire up while both men are down, and Connors goes toa corner.
Connors aims, runs in, but Swerve UP KICKS! And UP KICKS the arm! ROLLING KICK! Connors goes to a corner, Swerve hoists him up top. Swerve climbs up after Connors, and he brings Connors to the top. SUPER DUPER BACK SUPLEX! The fans are all fired up while Swerve covers, TWO! Connors survives but Swerve stays focused. Swerve half nelsons, but Connors fights it, so Swerve switches to the other side. Connors ELBOWS free, but Swerve SOBATS, HAYMAKERS, and ROLLING ELOBWS! Swerve runs, into a HEADBUTT! Connors then GERMAN SUPLEXES! Swerve flounders, Connors runs, but Swerve somersaults! COMPLETE SHOT!

Swerve survives and Nana coaches him up. Connors brings Swerve up, puts one out, but Swerve fights the No Chaser to knuckle lock! Straight arm lever, but Connors sunset flips, with tights! TWO!! Swerve escapes, Connors gets around, but Swerve switches. They switch and switch, then Connors ripcords, but again Swerve says no! Swerve WRINGS the arm, then hits a HOUSE CALL! Cover, Swerve wins!
Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall
That edge is razor sharp, and he says this is the beginning of Swerve’s road back to the world title. First stop: Los Angeles. Swerve tells Ricochet that he is just in Swerve’s way. Swerve will take Ricochet down and take back “our legacy!” The contract signing is this Wednesday, will these two keep it to just putting pen to paper?
AEW shares footage from after last Wednesday Night Dynamite.
The Hurt Syndicate was heading out, ready to have some steaks, when The Outrunners hurried after them. They hope MVP saw that out there! Truth & Turbo did it! They beat the Murder Machines! And now they’re gonna get their chance at the titles, they can’t thank MVP enough! Yes, MVP did see that. But did you see when the Hurt Syndicate went out there, distracted Lance Archer and all that, and then they capitalized on that? No, didn’t think so. But hey, they are men of honor and men of their word, Hurt Syndicate will face The Outrunners for the titles.
But there’s still time before the PPV. MVP suggests they get their business in order. At Revolution, Truth & Turbo will be swimming with sharks. Turbo thought they were wrestling, but sure! This is great, they thank MVP again. The Hurt Syndicate head out, and Truth says this is it! They’ve waited 20 long rookie years for this! They’re gonna be the champs! Truth & Turbo shake hands on it, but will this be their rise to the top? Or will they learn The All Mighty & The Standard of Excellence mean it when they say #WeHurtPeople?
Harley Cameron joins commentary.
Oakland is fired up for the wild Aussie, but Tony Schiavone says she’s not scheduled for anything in particular. What’s she got on her mind? Harley says that as we all know, she just won a big match on Dynamite against Deonna Purrazzo. Schiavone says that’s right, and she got the win. They watch a replay of that finish, and Schiavone congratulates her on that win. Harley thanks him for that, and yes, she has gotten going. And after she hit Deonna with “that,” she couldn’t help but notice that commentary didn’t really call it anything. Nigel McGuiness says that to be fair, Nigel wasn’t there.
But if he had a dollar for every move Tony Schiavone didn’t know the name of, Nigel would be a millionaire. Schiavone says more like just $3. But he didn’t know that Harley was gonna pull that move out so he didn’t know what to call it. Harley says she really hadn’t, so she just gave it a shot. It worked out, so what should we name it? Harley wants to name her finishing move? Yes, she wants to name her finishing move. Wait! That’s it! It’s Harley’s Finishing Move! GENIUS! What? That way, whenever she hits it, just say it! That’s Her Finishing Move! EXACTLY! Schiavone is a genius! And now, FEEL THE WRATH!
Backstage interview with Big Boom AJ & Big Justice.
Alicia Atout is with the Costco Guys as they enjoy their double chunk chocolate cookies, but then Johnny TV bumps past them! Johnny says, “Whoops. I saw you disrespecting my boys, MXM, back when I wasn’t around. But I’m here now.” And so is AJ! Yeah, but the difference is, AJ just go there. Johnny’s been here awhile. And what Johnny would like to see is to find two friends who will take on Johnny & MXM for a Six Man Tag at Revolution! And by the way, Big Justice and a cookie don’t count. Johnny disrespects the cookie, then storms off. Justice says they gotta find two friends and fast.
Six Man Tag: Shane Taylor Promotions VS Nick Ruiz, Vinnie Massaro & Dave Dutra!
Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo are looking to represent and redeem STP here on Collision after falling to the Undisputed Kingdom not too long ago. Will #TAIGASTYLE & The Infantry march right through Oakland? Or will they be the ones having to go back to Boot Camp?
The trios sort out and Carlie starts against Vinnie, both men looking like bad news and tattoos. Vinnie wrenches an arm, Carlie breaks free and DECKS Vinnie! Vinnie tags in Ruiz, but Carlie gets around him to RAM him into the STP corner! The Infantry mugs Ruiz, but the ref backs Carlie off. Carlie “apologizes,” but then he jukes the ref to CARLIE CROSSOVER! Ruiz sputters, Dean tags in, and Dean sends Carlie in for a forearm SMASH! Carlie goes back, Dean whips him back in, another forearm SMASH! Dean BLASTS Dutra & Vinnie, then he ELBOWS Ruiz! “This is S T P!” LARIAT! Tag back to Carlie, and Infantry say TWO 2 DA HEAD!!
Tag to Lee Moriarty, and Infantry CLOBBER Dutra & Vinnie on the outside! THE FANG for Ruiz! Cover, STP wins!
Winners: Shane Taylor Promotions, by pinfall
It was barely a warm-up for STP, but they don’t get paid by the hour. Will there be nothing that stops STP rising up- WAIT, Adam Cole makes his way out here now? He doesn’t sweat the STP, but will he have to put in some serious work against Red Death? Or will the TNT Championship be Undisputed?
AEW TNT Championship: Daniel Garcia VS Adam Cole!

Garcia wrenches, wristlocks back, but Cole spins and slips around to a waistlock. Cole SLAMS Garcia down, but lets him up, so he can say, “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” Cole smirks but so does Garcia. They go again, tie up, and Cole wrenches. Cole wristlocks but Garcia rolls. Garcia wrenches, waistlocks, then snapmares Cole for a ghost pin, TWO! Garcia trips Cole, ONE, but then Garcia rolls him again! ONE, and the two stand off again. The fans cheer as Garcia puts up his dukes! AND DOES HIS DANCE!

Big Boom AJ speaks.
“There’s a lot of ego around here in AEW, and the disrespect of the double chunk chocolate cookie! First it was QT Marshall, and tonight, it was that no good Johnny TV knocked the double chunk chocolate cookie right out of my hand. Johnny TV, you said you and your friends, MXM, want to take on Big Boom AJ and two friends at Revolution? Big Justice is out there right now-” Wait, he runs back in! And he tells Papa AJ that he found somebody! C’mon in! It’s Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy! That makes three! Whoa, whoa, Big Justice. You will be one of the best wrestlers one day. Maybe even AEW World Champion.
But for Revolution, Justice is better served in the corner. Cassidy says it’s fine, he has a friend. Here comes Mark Briscoe! The Sussex County Chicken says Big Justice can stand down, his opportunity to kick butt in the ring will come in the future! Of that, Briscoe is sure! But for now, please allow Mark Briscoe to do the ass whoopin’, cuz his main man with the game plan, OC, called him up on the cellphone and said, “Do you wanna do some conglomeratin’?” Mark said damn right! It’s been too long since they did that! So the three of them, with Big Justice in the corner, will take on MXM TV!
They think they’re fashionable? They think they’re stylish? Mark’s got their fashion right here! Johnny TV, MXM, at Revolution, Briscoe will whoop dat ass! And he’ll tell you what else! Will Big Boom AJ and the Conglomeration be more than #TVReady when AEW arrives in Los Angeles?

In fact, Serena Deeb has a quick video message to confirm The Professor of Pro-Wrestling gave Aminata the winning strategy. Will Aminata use what she’s learned? Serena’s strategies and Aminata’s abilities made for a winning combination here tonight! Brody checks on Julia, but OKADA slithers in! BELT SHOT for Brody!! The Rainmaker mocks the barking, then flips Brody off! Okada beat Buddy in Australia, and he has made Brody the prey rather than the hunter! But will Okada regret punking out Brody like that?
Kenny Omega speaks.
“While I was out for an entire year, having to sit in bed, watching the shows on TV, wondering if I’d ever wrestle again, I had to hear Uncle Don every single week, week in and week out, talk about how Takeshita beat Kenny Omega twice in one week. Takeshita beat Kenny Omega twice in one week, twice in one week, twice in one week. It tends to get on your nerves. It tends to piss you off. And I’m not gonna lie, I’m pissed off as it is. But what I’m about to do to you, Takeshita, it isn’t about revenge. No, it’s not about you beating me twice in one week. It’s about what you hold and what it represents. That belt.
“Because he who holds the belt is regarded as the best. And if you can beat me three times, Takeshita… Maybe it’s time for me to admit something. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that you’re better. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that you really were Don’s real meal ticket. Maybe it’s time for me to admit that I can never challenge for a major belt ever again, and that the old Kenny Omega is gone. But the way that I see it, is that I’ve had an entire year to clear my mind, refocus, hone in on my training, to sharpen all those dull points, to make my weaknesses into strengths.
“Now I don’t have the extra baggage of the friends that left me behind. I don’t have the extra baggage of being an EVP. My entire focus is your belt. It’s not revenge, it’s not because of Don. Not even because of you. I want that gold. At Revolution, I’m taking it.” The Cleaner has made his motives clear, but will he still be The Best Bout Machine? Or is Konosuke Takeshita truly the Alpha to Kenny Omega?

My Thoughts:
A great Collision that had the misfortune of going up against an awesome Elimination Chamber. Though I wonder if having to compete with Elimination Chamber is why they had so many cold open promos this time. FTR VS Kyle & Roddy was still an awesome opening match, and I’m a little surprised they pulled a ropebreak based false finish. But that costing FTR was a clever move, and that’s a great win for Kyle & Roddy. Meanwhile, I should’ve known something would happen during Garcia VS Cole. Garcia VS Cole was definitely better than just Collision, and it fits that STP get involved one more time. The thing is, they already gave us a Triple Threat of Garcia VS Moriarty VS Kyle, so it’s weird if they’re giving us Garcia VS Moriarty VS Cole next.
Great match from Yuta VS Willie Mack to help Death Riders get back up from losing Pac, Claudio & Marina. Yuta VS Cope will be really good but win, lose or draw, you gotta expect Cope and Jay White will take Yuta out. Very good promo from Willow Nightingale, too, and again Willow VS Marina has to be part of the plan. Great match from Swerve VS Connors to show Connors off to a broader American audience, just like with Gabe Kidd last time. Swerve won, of course, so that he has momentum going into the contract signing and #1 contender’s match. That contract signing will definitely show us who’s likely to win at Revolution, though.
We got good stuff from the Hounds of Hell through the cold open and the match of Julia VS Aminata. Aminata winning makes sense, she and Julia are now tied and can have a tiebreaker for like Zero Hour. I would think Julia wins there, and then Aminata has no choice but to face Serena Deeb in that Women’s Pure Rules match in ROH. Okada VS Brody was a natural next step, too, but I don’t think Okada called anyone b*tch tonight so that’s surprising. Great promo from Toni Storm to escalate “The Hollywood Ending,” and great promo from Kenny Omega to put his International Championship in perspective. I would think Toni and Omega each win those matches.
Great promo from Mone and Billie to flip things from Wednesday, and assuming Momo doesn’t win at Revolution, this feels like a natural segue into Mone VS Billie, and then maybe, just maybe, Mone VS Athena happens for All In: Texas, and it’ll be for all the belts between both women. The only downside of that is, I don’t think Mone should become Five Belts Mone and end Athena’s streak, but Mone and TK probably won’t see it that way. I appreciate that in all the years of pro-wrestling that certainly I’ve watched but perhaps ever, Harley Cameron is the first person on screen to go thru the move naming process with commentary. And “Her Finishing Move/Harley’s Finishing Move” is the perfectly simple yet self-aware, meta fourth-wall name for Harley’s move.
Big Boom AJ of course gets back on an AEW PPV, fans still love the guy, and he will make for a fun combination with Cassidy and Briscoe. They will have a great match against #MXMTV, and I would think Big Boom Conglomeration win. Hobbs & Bandido VS Bill & Keith was a great main event, and a natural choice for main event given Hobbs is from Oakland. Hobbs was also the natural choice to win. I have a feeling we’re still getting Hobbs VS Jericho, and if the title is on the line, Hobbs as ROH World Champion is a great move. They can make it Ring of Hobbs!
My Score: 8.7/10
