One of the hottest storylines on Monday Night Raw is Randy Orton and Matt Riddle as they form a tag team. “The Original Bro” shocked the veteran with a surprise rollup pin to counter Orton’s RKO over a month ago. Ever since then, they have found some success as a randomly fun tandem dubbed RKBRO!

Orton would never align himself with someone as goofy as Riddle unless he saw the potential and a payoff with the partnership. Every passing week you can see Riddle not only getting under Orton’s skin but also making “The Viper” believe in their team’s success. Right now, the current Raw Tag Team Champions are AJ Styles and Omos who won the titles at WrestleMania 37.

The champions are in a bit of a misdirection with not too many challengers to face them, but next week’s episode features a high-stakes tag team battle royal between Orton and Riddle and four other teams. I was watching this past week’s episode of Raw when Orton teased doing his signature pose with Riddle, and it reminded me of a similar scenario with another tag team.

Back in 2017, former Shield-mates and bitter rivals Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) joined forces to take down then-WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar Sheamus and Cesaro. After weeks of both former friends coming to each other’s aid, there still was tension felt, similar to Orton and Riddle. Over the next few weeks, Rollins and Ambrose would tease doing their signature Shield fist bump pose until the go-home edition of Raw to SummerSlam.

I believe that Riddle and Orton should win the battle royal on this week’s Raw and become the new number-one contenders for Styles and Omos but just like Rollins and Ambrose, Riddle and Orton should do their official tandem pose together to signify unity. The WWE Universe will have fully accepted Riddle and Orton as a legitimate tag team by then, and they would be on their way to possibly become the new tag team champions.
