Backstage with Tony D’Angelo and the Family.
McKenzie asks Tony D about tonight’s big night. It is, isn’t it? Legado can get on Tony’s right side if they beat Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp tonight, and if Tony gets the gold against Carmelo Hayes tonight. The acquisition of Legado hasn’t really gone as planned, though. How does Tony plan to turn that around? Well, there’s always growing pains in “business mergers” like this. Elektra Lopez is doing what she’s told, and the Legado boys can prove themselves here tonight. Right, Santos? Oh, yes, absolutely, Don. Because if Tony walks out of here and is NOT champion, there will be hell to pay.
Santos tells “boss” not to worry about it. They’ve got this. Okay, good. Let’s go. Legado follows Tony out, but will things go as the Don wishes?
The Irish Ace is coming.
“Do you hear that? That’s the winds of change. I think the winds of change are blowing here in NXT 2.0. If I have to leave my home, my penthouse overlooking my city, Dublin City, you know it’s for a damn good reason. You’ll find out why soon enough. And everyone in NXT 2.0 is gonna find out why you never bet against an ace.” Jordan Devlin “JD” McDonagh comes to NXT!
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter VS ???
After falling short to Toxic Attraction, KC Squared is back to get the party going again! Will Katana & Kayden kick things up a notch and find their way back? Or will they have a meltdown in this Summer heat?

Wes Lee is here!
The Must-See Kid has been getting wins all on his own, but for some reason, he still looks troubled. Wes gets the mic to say, “I have to thank you all. It truly is a blessing for me to remain here, to still receive this love from you all.” Fans cheer that, because “You Deserve It!” Wes thanks them for that, and says this right now is very much needed after these past few months. He’s gone from the highest of highs, to quite possibly the lowest of lows. He went from being your TWO-TIME NXT Tag Team Champion, reigning supreme with his best friend, his brother, just to have their world explode right from under their feet.
But Wes says that after all that, he’ll wear his tears proudly because while his world had crumbled and he is left sifting through the rubble, all he seems to find is pain and anger. And it was consuming him to the point where he was not acting like himself. From Xyon to Sanga, Wes was trying to prove himself. He was trying to show that Wes Lee can stand on his own two feet and do what he needs to do! But before he can continue, here comes Trick Williams! And Trick tells Wes to shut up, because no one wants to hear about how lonely he is or how his brother exploded or whatever he just said.
Trick says the truth is, Wes left his brother behind. Maybe Wes isn’t the friend he pretends to be. Maybe Wes’ boy is gone because Wes was the one who messed up. Wes says Trick has NO idea how Wes was there for that man. NO IDEA how they had to rise together to get where they were. And Trick will never understand, because he remains second fiddle to his homeboy. And with all the hype Trick throws at that man, does Trick have any left for himself? As Wes stands here in this ring, he’s waiting to find out what it is. Trick tells “Afro Thunder” to hold on. They don’t work on Wes Time, they work on Trick Time. And Trick’s time is money!
So here’s what’s what. Trick will let Wes know when he’s ready. Or better yet, Trick will do how Wes’ friends did him: he’ll just leave. Trick does in fact leave, leaving Wes seething. When will Trick step up to face Wes in the ring rather than on the mic?
Tiffany Stratton sits down to speak.
“You wanna know what I think of Wendy Choo? How much time do we have? Because we’re gonna be here awhile.” When Tiffany thinks of Wendy, the first word to come to mind is “tragic.” Like, when you see someone who sucks at life like Wendy, you feel bad. Not for her, but for everyone who has to be around her. Look at Tiffany’s style, and then look at “Frumpy.” Tiffany doesn’t want to know what that closet looks like, with all the onesies. It’d give Tiffany nightmares. Has Wendy ever won anything? Ever lifted 200 pounds over her head in the gym? Or ever even been to a gym? Or even known someone named Jim?! Not including imaginary friends.
Tiffany says everyone is jealous of her, so she can’t blame Wendy for that. But she can blame Wendy for ruining Tiffany’s ring gear and ruining her match last week. Tiffany tells the Peter Pan reject to stay away, or else she’ll put Wendy to sleep for good! “And we’re done here. Tootles.” Tiffany sure talks a lot, but will Wendy make Tiffany put her daddy’s money where her mouth is?
Legado del Fantasma VS Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp!
The Don told Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde to win “or else,” but the pressure is also on Diamond Mine as the Savior of the Backbreaker has to back up his own tough talk. Who does their faction proud with a victory here tonight?
NXT returns and leading the way for Legado is Stacks & Two Dimes, apparently keeping an eye on them in Tony’s place. The teams sort out, Strong starts with Wilde and they tie right up. Wilde headlocks, Strong powers up and SLAMS Wilde down! Strong gets Wilde’s arm, bends the fingers then the arm, but Wilde fights up. Strong facelocks, headlocks, but Wilde powers up. Cruz tags in, Legado double elbow Strong down, then Electric Chair SPALSH to a LIONSAULT! Cover, ONE, but Cruz goes after Strong. Strong scurries to the corner and tags Kemp. Kemp shoots in, brings Cruz down, then brings him around with a gator roll.
Kemp waistlocks, Cruz switches, the two break and fans rally up. Strong tells Kemp to keep on Cruz but Kemp doesn’t even know how Cruz escaped. Strong calls Kemp over, and SLAPS him to fire him up! Kemp nods, and he waistlocks then POWERSLAMS Cruz! Then a deadlift suplex! Then a SPEAR! Fans fire up, Wilde gets in, but Kemp catches him for an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly onto Cruz! Kemp then rains down forearms on Cruz! Kemp drags Cruz up with a facelock, he tags Strong in, and Diamond Mine mugs Cruz. Strong CHOPS and Cruz falls over! Strong stands Cruz up but Cruz slips away.
Tag to Kemp, tag to Wilde, but Wilde dodges Strong and goes up and over to run him over! Wilde runs, dodges Strong, and SLINGBLADE DDT’s! Kemp gets in finally but Wilde JAWBREAKERS him! Wilde clotheslines Kemp in a corner, clotheslines Strong in a corner, but Strong hits a BACKBREKER and Kemp adds a LARIAT! Kemp pushes Wilde to a cover, TWO! Kemp rains down fists on Wilde, sits him up into a chinlock, and Stacks & Dimes are both upset. Fans rally, Wilde fights up, and Wilde throws body shots. Kemp whips and scoops Wilde for a BIG SLAM! But Wilde avoids the elbow drop!
Fans fire up, Wilde and Kemp crawl, hot tags to Cruz and Strong! Cruz springboard CROSSBODIES! Then LARIATS! Then dropkicks! Strong gets up again, but Cruz tilt-o-whirl headscissors him to a corner! Cruz runs in to GAMANGIRI, then snapmare! Cruz is up top fast and fans fire up as he missile dropkicks Strong down! Cover, TWO! Strong survives but Cruz brings him up. Strong avoids the pump handle by getting ropes. Strong elbows Cruz away, then turns things around for a BIG back suplex! Cover, Wilde breaks it! Kemp rushes in but Wilde sends him out, to PLANCHA! Direct hit and fans fire up again!
Cruz suplexes, Strong blocks to suplex back, but Cruz slips out! Cruz UPPERCUTS Strong, but Strong CLUBS Cruz on the back! Cruz PELES Strong! Cruz whips, Strong reverses, and Dimes trips Cruz up with a crowbar?! Stacks points out Dimes did it to the wrong guy, and Strong KNEES Cruz down!! Cover, Diamond Mine wins!!
Winners: Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp, by pinfall
Dimes realizes he just screwed up! Will Tony have something to say about that? Will the Creed Brothers accept this as Strong living the Diamond Mine life?
Backstage interview with Giovanni Vinci.
McKenzie says he had an impressive victory in his debut. Giovanni tells McKenzie, “Standing before you right now is the most supreme athlete in NXT. Last week, a statement was made, a message was sent, but it was sent in style. I know Bron Breakker was watching. I know Carmelo Hayes was watching. Diamond Mine, the entire locker room, everybody knows that a top tier talent just walked through the door, in style.” Ikemen Jiro rushes over and says he saw Giovanni! He sees he has style, but is he #StyleStrong? Jiro wants to find out. Jiro shows off his jacket as he exits, and Giovanni rants in Italian. Is Jiro serious? Will Giovanni find out for himself soon enough?
Apollo Crews speaks.
“Do I have what it takes? Will this work? How will people perceive me? Fear lives inside of everyone. But you can’t run from fear, you have to confront it. It’s easy to look at the man in the mirror and say you will, but what happens when that opportunity presents itself? That’s the difference between who you see before, and who you see now: Fearless.” Someone warns Apollo now to go down a certain road, there’s nothing but trouble. And at this very moment, Apollo can see thugs mugging someone.
Apollo envisions how he’ll stop the thugs: one will step up, get bopped; the second, gets a knee; the third gets the wall. Apollo then executes his plan. Will he show NXT that he has no fear, and will do what it takes to do what is right?
Toxic Attraction is here!
Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne still hold the NXT Women’s and Women’s Tag Team Championships after In Your House, but they’re coming off a loss in last week’s Six Woman Tag main event. Not that their collective confidence seems to be affected. They get the mics, and Mandy says she wants to make something clear: “Last week, Roxanne Perez and her two reject friends might’ve had a fluke victory. But they’re still losers! I mean, Roxanne’s walking around on a high horse lately. She thinks she’s on top of the world. I mean, it’s embarrassing, honestly. All of her dreams are becoming a reality~! Please.
“What’s next? She’s gonna start imagining my title around her waist when she plays with her action figures at home? Disgusting.” Gigi says this isn’t play time, this isn’t a video game or a fairy tale, and Roxie damn sure ain’t Cinderella. She’s gonna get a reality check, and it will be toxic. When the pressure’s on, Roxie will realize she’s not on their level. Jacy tells Roxie to ask Cora about folding under pressure. She’s become a pro at it! So if they were “Lil’ Miss Breakout Star,” buy another bus ticket and go home to put up posters of real superstars, like Toxic Attraction! Because if Roxie sticks around, her dreams will become nightmares, and it’ll get real ugly.
But speaking of, here comes Roxie! And she has Cora with her, too! Mandy wonders, did she hit a nerve? Don’t think that a couple wins makes Roxie a worthy challenger. Fans can shut up, Mandy runs NXT! “Roxanne, don’t be delusional. You don’t wanna cash that contract in, trust me.” Roxie tells Mandy, she’s right! Roxie IS on top of the world! But she also knows she has earned every single bit of living her dream! And the thing about dreams, is that they’re better when you get to share them! Jacy says she wants to barf. But Roxie says after last week, they got to thinking. As much as Roxie wants to be NXT Women’s Champion, which she will one day…
Winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships with her best friend, Cora, will be that much sweeter! But wait, here comes KC Squared! Kayden wants Roxie to hold on and wait a minute. She’ stalking about tag titles? Well, the line starts behind them, because they ain’t done yet! Cora says we all saw In Your House. KC Squared looked pretty done. Katana says she gets it, Cora & Roxie are best friends. It’s cute, but KC Squared are also best friends. And you don’t get to cut in line just because you are the new flavors of the month. Oh, wow, really? Cora’s been here a year. And while Roxie just got here, KC Squared is still done.
Well let’s see about that. And the brawl is one! Toxic Attraction is reveling in their rivals going after each other! Refs rush out to stop this, but with Roxie holding onto the Breakout Star contract, will KC Squared be the ones waiting for their turn?
Backstage interview with Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams.
McKenzie asks Melo about his main event title defense. How does he feel going into the match? Melo asks back, “How do I feel? The question should be, ‘Tony D’Angelo, how do you feel going against The A Champion?'” In fact, Trick checked Wes tonight, how does he feel? He feels like money! Trick took care of business, and now he passes the ball so Melo can take care of business. Melo will take care of business. So whether it’s Two Stacks, Two Dimes, Legado, El Dorado, it doesn’t matter! Business is getting handled, because everyone wants next. But the only thing next someone will be is the one to take an L to the A Champion! That’s all it is, and that’s all it’s gone be!
Backstage interview with Indi Hartwell.
McKenzie notes #IndiWrestling is getting momentum again lately, and Indi points out last week’s win. But then Kiana James walks in and asks McKenzie why we’re wasting valuable television time on someone like Indi. Indi again points out, check her win last week. Kiana saw that, but she doesn’t deal with emotions, she deals with facts and numbers because they don’t lie. The truth hurts, and the truth is, Indi gives the women’s movement a bad name. What?! Kiana says Indi is weak-minded and lacks the mental fortitude to be successful on her own. That is why Indi jumps from friend to friend.
Aww, wait, Kiana is new here right? She’s very opiniated. But the funny thing is, no one cares. Instead of Indi hitting Kiana in the face right now, Kiana can bring those numbers to the ring next week, and Indi will make her regret those words coming out of her mouth. Kiana accepts the challenge! Indi better get ready for another failure. Indi says Kiana sounds smart, but no one likes a bitch. Will Kiana’s calculations not add up compared to reality next week?
Cameron Grimes VS Edris Enofe w/ Malik Blade!
The Carolina Caveman called out the NXT Champion last week, but he also called out the team that once broke the Dusty Cup brackets! Grimes wants Edris to understand what he has going for him, but will he get it through to him with a loss?
NXT returns and Edris makes his entrance. The bell rings, Grimes and Edris circle, and Edris avoids a leg pick. They tie up, Grimes waistlocks and SLAMS Edris, but Edris sits up. Edris fights up, wrenches out to a wristlock, but Grimes spins and slips through to hook and spin Edris for an arm-drag! Grimes has the armlock, fans rally and duel, and Edris fights up. Grimes wrenches again, Edris rolls, rolls and gets free to arm-drag Grimes! Grimes gets up, Edris runs in and rolls off Grimes’ back to then rebound off ropes and arm-drag again! Edris eggs Grimes on and fans fire up! Grimes KICKS and KICKS and KICKS but Edris still wants some! Grimes BOOTS him again, but Edris ROCKS Grimes! Grimes ROCKS Edris, Edris ROCKS Grimes, and fans fire up! SUPER FOREARM from Grimes! Edris JUMP KNEES back! Both men are down and fans are fired up for “NXT! NXT!” Malik coaches Edris and he gets to a corner. Grimes runs in but is put on the apron. Edris shoulders into Grimes, then brings him through ropes.
Edris runs side to side to UPPERCUT Grimes! Then he runs to KNEE Grimes to the floor! Edris keeps moving and he FLIES! Direct hit at the ramp! Fans fire up, Edris puts Grimes in and “This is Awesome!” as Edris goes up top. Edris aims at Grimes, 450 but he has to roll through! Grimes comes back, spins and scoops to SWINGING SIDE SLAM! Fans fire up as Grimes aims from a corner. “TO! THE! MOON!” CAVE-IN!! Cover, Grimes wins!
Winner: Cameron Grimes, by pinfall
Grimes did bring that fight out of Edris, but it wasn’t enough compared to the fire inside Grimes! But Grimes shows his respect to the young gun all the same. Will the fire inside Grimes be more than even Bron Breakker can handle?
Thea Hail moves into the Chase U dorms!
She is so excited to be here at the “world famous” Peters Hall! She gets in through the door and meets her roommate… BODHI HAYWARD?! Wait, Thea was given Room 324? Thea is so sorry, she didn’t know Bodhi was here, too. Well, yeah, but this can’t be right! She’s a girl and he’s a guy! No wait, Chase U has CO-ED dorms!! Bodhi keeps hearing that but he never knew it was true. Thea is excited, though! She’s gonna get the rest of her stuff. What?! She throws her stuff all over the place! Bodhi ends up buried in laundry!
After the montage, Bodhi asks Thea, with this co-ed thing, do they share the room on a schedule? Like, he gets it every other day, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and she- No, dude! They’re roomies! Like, real roommates! Best friends, even! They’ll make every day a win! Isn’t he excited?! She is! And Mr. Chase will be so proud. Wow, yeah, this will be so sick! Classes start next week! Is he hungry? Always! Then let’s get food! Thea bops Bodhi in the stomach a little too hard, and he tells her to just save him a seat. But will this really work out for the best?
Nikkita Lyons is still working hard.
“Patience is not a virtue. Patience sucks. I’m a woman who needs to be constantly moving, always working. When I want something, I go and get it. That’s why I’m busting my ass in the gym. Because once I’m cleared from this leg injury, there’s no warm-up match, there’s no easing my way back into the mix. I’m balls to the wall! NXT Women’s Division, this is your seven day notice. Next week, I’m back.” Lyons is ready to war, who will be the first on the comeback tour?
Brooks Jensen VS Von Wagner!
The lonely country boy looking for love simply looked a little too long at Sophia Cromwell, and that set #ViciousVon off. But now, the hand is healed, and per Sophia’s own orders, no one else is allowed ringside! Will Brooks finally get payback on big, bad Von? Or will Brooks find out this is Wagner’s World, and he’s just living in it?

Von got more of a fight out of Brooks than he expected, but he still came out the winner all on his own. Will Wagner’s World soon head for a championship?
Bron Breakker finds Grimes backstage.
Bron says Grimes has a lot of heart, and that is who he is looking forward to facing at The Great American Bash. Grimes says no he isn’t. Because if this Grimes shows up, we’re looking at a new NXT Champion. Grimes heads out, but will his heart lead him headlong into a loss?
Joe Gacy speaks to The Dyad.
“I offered each one of you purpose. And you have surrendered yourselves to me. You left everything you’d once known behind. Your home, your family, all aspects of your life were laid to rest in a realm where everything was measured by fame and championships. When you discovered that it was all just a pipe dream, you found yourselves questioning your own abilities. You were planning on packing up and going home, but I was there for you. I was the one who showed you the light that was inside of you.” They have been reborn, they are ready to take on the world, and no longer see themselves the same.
These two may have tasted gold before, but without intention, gold is flavorless. When they return to that same glory, the fruit of their labor will be delicious! “Because it will be cultivated by an unmatched strength, now that you two have come together under my guidance.” Who are the two under the hoods? We’ll have to wait and see.

NXT returns as Lash makes her entrance. The bell rings and Lash talks trash while Fyre stares her down. Lash throws a punch but Fyre dodges to fire off haymaker after haymaker! Lash kicks back but Fyre blocks to shove Lash into the buckle! And then TORANDO- NO, Lash powers out! Lash runs in but into a roll-up that sends her into buckles! BREAKING NEWS!
After the confrontation over who gets a shot at Gigi & Jacy, we’re having a match to decide that! Katana & Kayden VS Cora & Jade, the winners move on to The Great American Bash for an NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship match!
NXT North American Championship: Carmelo Hayes w/ Trick Williams VS Tony D’Angelo!
#2XMelo doesn’t care about The Don cosplaying as one of the Sopranos, he doesn’t follow anyone’s orders but his own. But will he have to kiss the ring when Tony takes his title? Or will Tony D lose to the A Champion?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is really a made man in NXT!
Tony and Melo stare down and Tony says this is his ring. Melo says no, it’s Melo’s NXT. They tie up, Tony shoves Melo away, and Melo shrugs and makes fun of the three pointer. Melo and Tony reset, tie up, and fans duel, “Let’s Go, Tony!” “Tony Sucks!” as Tony shoves Melo down. Melo gets up and Tony gloats along with his crew. Melo avoids Tony to headlock, but Tony powers out and runs Melo over. Things speed up, Melo hurdles then hurdles again. Melo runs, flips through the hip toss but Tony dodges! Fans applaud the exchange, and then Melo shoots the three. But then the crew gets on the apron!
Tony says go ahead, Melo, talk to Trick. Trick says sorry, Melo, that’s way too many. But Melo ROCKS Tony with haymaker after haymaker! Tony blocks the next one, then throws a BIG body shot! And another! Tony whips Melo corner to corner but Melo reverses to mule kick! Melo whips Tony, Tony reverses and FLAPJACKS him! Cover, ONE! Tony keeps on Melo, whips him corner to corner, but Melo slides, comes back, rolls off the back and LARIATS! Tony bails out to the apron but Melo rushes over. Tony ducks, anticipating a punch, but Melo slingshots out and trips Tony up! Melo then stares down Escobar before going into the ring.
Trick talks some smack but Stacks talks it back. Melo picks Tony up but is distracted by Trick and Stacks, and Tony RAMS Melo into steel steps! Melo goes down in a heal while NXT goes picture in picture.
Melo shakes out his bad arm and Trick is beside himself. Tony dusts himself off then drags Melo back up. Tony puts Melo in, stomps him around, then brings him up to whip and scoop. BACKBREAKER! Melo withes and Tony gloats again. Tony stomps Melo, Melo kicks from below but Tony flips him over to CHOKE him on the ropes! The ref counts, Tony lets off at 4, but he comes back to stand Melo up in a corner. Tony RAMS into Melo, and RAMS in again. The ref counts, Tony lets off but runs back in, only for Melo to dodge! Tony hits buckles, and then Melo BOOTS Tony! Tony staggers, Melo runs, springboard, into a body shot!
Tony drops an elbow! Cover, TWO! Tony is annoyed but he paces around. Tony pushes Melo over, CLUBS him on the back again and again, then kicks him to ropes. Tony pulls Melo against the ropes! The ref counts, Tony lets off, and then Tony drags Melo back up. Tony clinches for a BIG Belly2Belly! Cover, TWO! Tony is annoyed, and Melo won’t let his arm go. NXT returns to single picture as Melo endures! Fans rally up, Melo fights up, and he pulls Tony’s hair to then smack him off buckles! Tony swings but Melo counter punches! And CHOPS! Tony switches, back suplexes, but Melo lands on his feet to CODE BREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Melo is shocked that Tony survives!
Melo goes to a corner and he climbs up the corner. But Tony crawls away, so Melo hops down. Melo storms up to grab Tony’s leg. Tony kicks him away, then tackles Melo and rolls through to a BACK DROP! Fans fire up while both men are down, they give “NXT! NXT!” a standing ovation! Tony crawls to his side, Stacks distracts the ref, and Escobar has the knuckles! Tony wants them, and Escobar slides them, to Melo! Tony is furious, but he turns around into a BRASS KNUCKLE PUNCH!! Cover, Melo wins!!
Winner: Carmelo Hayes, by pinfall (still NXT North American Champion)
Escobar was staring right at Tony when he sent the knuckles the other way! That had to be on purpose! Is Legado rebelling against The Family? How will Tony handle his business? And as for Melo, just who has next for his championship?
My Thoughts:
A great episode of NXT here, with the build towards the Great American Bash getting stronger. For one, I was right to expect Roxanne saying she and Cora want the tag titles first. However, I didn’t expect KC Squared to stand in their way. Katana & Kayden had a very good match with Leon & Feroz, and KC Squared winning made sense. But now it seems we’ll be getting a match between KC Squared and Cora-Roxie, winners take on Gigi & Jacy at the Bash. That probably saves Roxie’s Breakout Star contract, then, since this is being done through management. And maybe then, Roxie can still use the contract to cash-in on Mandy later.
But at the same time, Mandy might need a Great American Bash challenger, and I would love if Indi got another chance. Indi had a good promo segment with Kiana James, and that set up a match that I can guarantee Indi will win. Indi can easily call out Mandy, Mandy will respond, and the match is just made on the spot. Tiffany has a good promo on Wendy, they’ll have a very good match, but I would hope Wendy wins. Unless they’re going to put the top title on a Face like Indi or Roxie, because then it makes sense for Tiffany to win. Tiffany will go after the Face champion, talking crap on them, and then losing to be that Face champion’s first successful defense.
After losing the Loser Leaves NXT UK match to Ilja Dragunov, Jordan Devlin is finally showing up in the States, and of course he’s showing up with a new name. But to me, “JD McDonagh” isn’t quite so bad compared to, oh, I dunno, “Butch” for Pete Dunne on SmackDown. But name aside, Devlin will have a great time here in NXT and eventually move on to RawDown, hopefully having checked off a title or two. Apollo Crews continues his “WWE’s Equalizer” vignette series and that’s fine, but let’s try and get him in the ring please. Solo VS Waller was a great opener, and Waller gets a dirty win to delay Solo’s rise to a title, which I suppose is fine in the long run.
Giovanni has a decent promo on his own, but it got better when Jiro showed up to upset him. Giovanni VS Jiro should be a really fun match. Wagner gets a win over Brooks and Fyre gets a win over Lash, but these matches just weren’t as compelling as they should’ve been given the builds to them. Especially with Brooks. He was hurt for two months, and while Von is the one being pushed, Brooks needs to give him a hell of a fight or else Von is still just a big, burly brontosaurus like Sam Gradwell called him. In the same way Lashley made Omos look great, there needs to be someone who can make Von look great in a match that actually lasts.
Gacy’s promo with The Dyad was just dripping with allusions to how it’s just the Grizzled Young Veterans under those hoods. They need to have those guys take those hoods off the very next time they’re in the ring or else they’re just dragging this out because they can’t think of what else to do. As soon as those hoods come off, Gibson & Drake need to say why they joined Gacy in their own words, and then I guess this is all leading to “The Dyad” VS The Creeds for the tag titles. And Thea Hail had a hilarious promo vignette with Bodhi about being in the Chase U co-ed dorms. I wonder if we’re going to get some mixed tag matches out of Thea and Bodhi or something like that after seeing her want to take on Pretty Deadly alongside Andre Chase.
Wes Lee had a great promo to work-shoot what happened with MSK, and then Trick interrupting was some strong Heel heat. Wes VS Trick should definitely happen at The Great American Bash or something like that, that’d be a great win for Wes. Great match from Grimes and Edris, and it was kind of the flipside of what we got from Von VS Brooks and Fyre VS Lash. It may not have been that much longer than those matches, but Grimes VS Edris was fast and exciting. Grimes wins to get momentum, but it was a good character touch that he showed respect. Grimes also put Bron on notice in their interaction backstage, Bron VS Grimes is going to be awesome stuff.
And very good story blending with the Diamond Mine, Legado and The D’Angelo Family. Legado faces Kemp & Strong in a great match, and I like that Dimes ends up costing Legado all because he wasn’t paying attention. Everybody has good promos to hype up the main event, and Melo VS Tony was a great match. Escobar giving the brass knuckles to Melo was a great moment, and I figured the partnership of Legado and D’Angelo Family wasn’t going to last long. Now, they won’t be able to have a Six Man Tag rematch at the Great American Bash, as Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan was released, but maybe it will be a 1v1 match of Escobar and Tony, with a ringside ban and maybe some other stipulations to raise the stakes.
My Score: 8.5/10

Ava Raine talks with Stevie Turner backstage.
The NXT General Manager tells her assistant that she has been absolutely phenomenal the past couple of weeks. The matches she’s pitched, the talent she’s acquired, and she even has an OG Evolve Champion on the show! That is very impressive. With that said, Ava feels it is time for the next step in Stevie’s journey. Ava asks Chuey Martinez to accompany Stevie out there for the big announcement, and he says absolutely. Stevie is surprised by all this, but the two head out on stage. Chuey says, “Make some noise, Evolve, make some noise!” The superstars are ringside as well, and Chuey says this is a special announcement.
Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW Evolve General Manager! It’s Stevie Turner! Stevie is so surprised! It is an absolute honor to be the new GM of WWE Evolve! The fact Ava put her trust in Stevie, not Robert Stone, makes this so much sweeter. If the last few weeks have been anything to go by, this is truly where pro-wrestling evolves! And it will continue to be that way under Stevie’s leadership! Everything is up for grabs! Who will take the top spots? Who will be in eventual title contendership? And who will be the first-ever Face of Evolve?! The fans cheer that, and Stevie says that all comes down to who impresses her, and the fans.
So let’s get things kicked off with two men who were after it a few weeks ago. That’s Wolfgang and Sam Holloway! Let’s do that… NOW! Fans cheer for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” But will Wolfie be able to put Gallus Boys On Top? Or will Holloway prove he’s the Alpha Bully?
While these two big men step into the ring, the other superstars exit, and two other big men cross paths. Harlem Lewis and Keanu Carver stare down, then they start shoving! Referees and even Luca Crusifino step in, but that only gets Luca on Keanu’s radar. Other superstars step in to keep them from getting physical, and Evolve goes to break. Are all these combustible elements going to make Evolve explode?
Sam Holloway VS Wolfgang w/ Joe Coffey!
Evolve returns and the bell rings. The fans rally behind Wolfgang as he and Sam tie up. They’re in a deadlock so they break. The fans chant for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” as the two tie up again. The two go back and forth, and Sam puts Wolfgang on the ropes. The ref counts, Sam lets off, but the two tie up again. Wolfgang puts Sam on the ropes, the ref counts, and the two break. Joe Coffey coaches Wolfgang as he and Sam tie up again. Wolfgang headlocks, but Sam powers up and out. They RAM shoulders, and the fans fire up as neither man moves! They RAM again, and again, and again! Fans chant “SLAP THAT MEAT! SLAP THAT MEAT!”

Sam only drops to one knee?! Wolfgang hurries to get him for a clinch, but Sam fights it! Sam whips and BOOTS Wolfgang down! The fans boo but Wolfgang goes to the apron. Sam storms out after him as the fans boo more.
Sam stands Wolfgang up, scoops him, and SLAMS him on the apron! Wolfgang writhes and slumps to the floor! Sam soaks up the heat while Joe checks Wolfie. Joe coaches Wolfgang but Sam storms up to RAM Wolfgang into the POST! The fans boo more but Sam puts Wolfgang in the ring. Sam goes up the ropes and ELBOW DROPS! Sam stomps Wolfgang around, then drags him up for a scoop. Sam SLAMS Wolfgang, covers, TWO! The fans rally behind Wolfgang but that just annoys Sam. Sam pushes Wolfgang around, slaps him, then pie faces him. Wolfgang glares at Sam, and RAMS low! Wolfgang UPPERCUTS, then fireman’s carries!
But Sam’s so big! Sam slips free, and has the COBRA TWIST! Wolfgang endures, even as Sam digs knuckles into the ribs! Wolfgang fights against the hold, the fans rally harder, and Wolfgang switches the COBRA TWIST, only for Sam to HIP TOSS! Cover, TWO! Sam talks trash on Joe, asks where Markus went, but Joe says he’ll knock the smack talk right out of his face! Wolfgang fires body shots, then rises up, but Sam KNEES low! Sam whips Wolfgang to a corner, runs up, but Wolfgang ELBOWS him! Wolfgang goes up, FLYING SHOULDER TACKLE! The fans rally as both men stand. Wolfgang blocks a shot to fire forearms!
The fans rally as Wolfgang has Sam in a corner for heavy hands! The ref counts, Wolfgang stops at 4, then runs in, only to be put on the apron! But Wolfgang slingshots in! Only for the back to give out! Sam reels Wolfgang in, but Wolfgang fights the suplex! Sam HALF HATCH SUPLEXES Wolfgang into the corner! Cover, TWO! Wolfgang survives and the fans fire up again! Sam drags Wolfgang up, RAMS him into the corner, and RAMS him again and again! The ref counts, Sam stops at 4, then he hoists Wolfgang up top. Sam ROCKS Wolfgang, then climbs up. But Wolfgang fights the suplex!
The fans rally as Wolfgang fires body shots in return! Wolfgang CLAWS Sam’s face, then HEADBUTTS him down! Sam flops into the drop zone, and Wolfgang hits the HOWLING SWANTON! Cover, Wolfgang wins!
Winner: Wolfgang, by pinfall
It’s Gallus Boys On Top because they know how to grit through the pain! “Hard Way” Holloway found out the hard way, but is this enough for Wolfgang to impress Stevie Turner? The Iron King also wants to remind everyone that he knocked out Mr. Oasis. Send anyone that wants a scrap, they’ll be ready for it! Will Evolve soon be Gallus’ Kingdom?
Aria Bennett talks with Layla Diggs backstage.
Aria asks Layla what’s up, and Layla says she needs some help from the coaches. She cannot lose on Evolve like she did last week. Aria agrees, she did not like the way her match with Wendy went. Layla says this is the place that catapults their careers into the spotlight. Aria says catapult, slingshot, springboard, c’mon now. But Aria figures they can turn this around, they pool their resources, and then get in the ring together. Layla is feeling it, and they head into the gym together. Will they become a dynamic duo here tonight? Or will they take another loss, this time to Haze Jameson and the debuting Kalyx?
Kendal Grey VS Zara Zakher!
With Carlee Bright cheering her on from the VIP Lounge, the grittier Grey is taking on the Petite Powerhouse. Zara’s been helping Kylie Rae watch out for Wendy Choo, but will she be able to focus on this match? Or will Kendal keep up her own momentum and really impress Stevie Turner?

Winner: Kendal Grey, by submission
From the first win on Evolve to this big win here tonight, Kendal is kicking things up a notch! Kylie Rae walks out to encourage Zara, but then they both spot a teddy bear sitting in one of the corners…! When did Wendy sneak that bear there? And why is she obsessed with Kylie?
Drako Knox pops in on commentary.
Pete Rosenberg asks how he is, and Knox says he’s doing great. But he does have something to say and they’re gonna let him say it. Robert Stone says go ahead. Knox says last week was the biggest opportunity of his life. A chance to make a name for himself. A chance to change his life. That opportunity came as he teamed with Tate Wilder against Tyson & Tyriek. When Knox gets in that ring, he feels alive. He feels a hunger he hasn’t felt since his college gridiron days. When he connects fist to face, that’s a good feeling! Now, he knows the results didn’t show what he wanted, but he can handle that. He can learn and grow from it.
What he can’t handle is that big, no-name goof just sitting in the VIP Section, thinking he can show them up! Tate’s out with injury, so Knox is here for himself. If anybody thinks they can show him up, he’ll handle that. Whoever that was, whatever their name is, let’s handle it in the ring! Is Knox calling out the bouncer? We also see Swipe Right & Zayda Steel scooting into said VIP Section. Will Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes be adding on more trolling as Knox just simply tries to make a way?
There are even more VIPs!
As WWE Evolve returns from break, Ice Williams joins Swipe Right in watching the action from the posh couch behind the velvet ropes. But does he really vibe with Swipe Right? Or is it just the fact there’s limited seating?
Layla Diggs & Aria Bennett VS Haze Jameson & Kalyx!
We saw how Layla & Aria decided to become gym partners, and now they’ll try out being tag partners. They already gel together, but can they win together? Or will the Wild Child find a way to make it work with her mysterious masked partner?

Winners: Layla Diggs & Aria Bennett, by pinfall
Haze can’t believe it, but she’s the one who dropped the ball here. She’s now 0-2 while Layla & Aria turn things around together. Kalyx is furious and she shoves Haze aside. Will James get out of her haze and focus on the ring?
Sean Legacy VS Timothy Thatcher!
When Ava mentioned Stevie got a former Evolve Champion to return, surely the WWE Universe was not expecting THE longest reigning Evolve Champion, the most dominant and fearsome champion, The Professor of Pain! Thatcher isn’t here for popularity contests, he’s here to win! Will “Super Sean” survive what Thatcher is about to put him through?
The big fight introductions are given as Thatcher stares daggers into Sean. The bell rings and Sean DROPKICKS Thatcher right away! And PENALTY KICKS! And STANDING MOONSAULTS! Cover, TWO! Cover, TWO! Thatcher keeps Sean down with a wristlock, but also a knee in Sean’s face! Sean fights but Thatcher bends the fingers! Thatcher JAMS the fingers into the mat! The fans rally as Sean goes to the ropes. Thatcher drags Sean from the ropes, grabs the bad hand again, and he stands Sean up. Thatcher CLUBS Sean, CLUBS him again, then UPPERCUTS! Sean staggers to ropes, but Thatcher is on him.
Sean fires haymakers and forearms! The fans fire up as Sean fires off, then CHOPS in the corner! Thatcher ELBOWS Sean back, clinches, and then rebounds off ropes for the BELLY2BELLY! Cover, TWO! Sean stays in this but Thatcher stays on him with a chinlock. Sean endures, Swipe Right mockingly coach him, but the fans rally up. Sean pries at the hold, but Thatcher grinds and twists Sean around! Sean hurries to the apron, he takes aim as Thatcher rises, and Sean springboards, MISSILE DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! Thatcher survives and the fans fire up! Sean thinks on what he has to do, but this is the longest-reigning Evolve Champion ever. Thatcher rises, Sean torture racks, but Thatcher headlocks! Thatcher then slips around to UPPERCUT Sean in the back! Thatcher runs in, Sean goes up and over to GAMANGIRI! Thatcher staggers, Sean torture racks again! SHAMBLES!! Cover, SEAN WINS!
Winner: Sean Legacy, by pinfall
Even Swipe Right have to admit, that was an impressive win. Sean gets another big win in Evolve’s main event, and perhaps bigger than that, he just won Thatcher’s respect! Will Sean’s legacy include becoming the new face of Evolve? Wait, Swipe Right hops the railing to bark at Sean more. They go to the ring, but Sean has back-up! Cappuccino Jones & Jack Cartwheel back up Sean! Ice Williams figures he might as well get in on this. Ice steps into the ring, this is a good 3v3, until Ice says nah, 4v2! Ice likes Sean’s vibe better than Swipe Right’s, so Swipe Right bails! Will Baylor & Smokes show them what happens when you don’t swipe right?
My Thoughts:
Another very good episode for Evolve, and I’m a little surprised they decided to have a new authority figure. I’m not sure if this is too soon or not soon enough, but it is still a great move for it to be Stevie Turner given everything she’s done character wise. Great opening match from Holloway VS Wolfgang, and very good win for Wolfgang. While we haven’t even gotten WWE Evolve singles champions, they obviously have plenty of great choices for tag champions, too, with Gallus hanging around and Swipe Right doing stuff. Kendal & Carlee might have their break-up because of what titles are available, so Kendal gets a strong win off Zara to make her case. And good bit with that teddy bear “mysteriously appearing” to keep Wendy on our minds.
Layla & Aria had a great tag team debut, they have the athleticism and in-ring charisma that can make them future women’s tag team champs. “Kalyx” is certainly a mystery. There was talk when that name was registered that it was for referee Jessica Carr as she starts on her own wrestling journey. If that is Carr, she did a good job playing a menacing Heel, even in losing because of Haze’s story that she’s still too party girl and not serious enough yet. Not sure “Kalyx” is the best name, though, it’s literally one letter off from Sol Ruca’s legal name. Why not add to the mystery and give her a much more mysterious name? “Lady X” comes to mind, even if it’s a bit cheesier.
Very good promo from Knox, and a shame if Tate Wilder really did end up injured, as fans already took quite a liking to “Cowboy Tate.” But Knox also calling out the bouncer and/or Swipe Right is good stuff, too. Swipe Right love hanging out in the VIP Section but I feel like they need to be less college preppy and more red carpet and suits. And good move from Ice Williams turning on them to be a Face. Legacy VS Thatcher was a great main event, great to see Thatcher back in the WWE and I hope Thatcher goes right to NXT to start where he left off. Cappuccino Jones & Jack Cartwheel sticking together is good stuff, too, I wonder if they become an official tag team.
My Score: 8.7/10

Kenny Omega VS Blake Christian w/ Lee Johnson!
The AEW International Champion knows he has a Triple Threat waiting for him at Dynasty, so he needs to get himself ready. Will tonight be a tune-up for the Best Bout Machine? Or will he not like the taste of the Vanilla Babyface?
The bell rings and the fans fire up for “KENNY! KENNY!” Omega and Blake circle, feel things out, and tie up. Omega waistlocks, Blake pries at the grip, and Blake wrenches out to wristlock. Omega wrenches back, wristlocks again, but Blake rolls, cartwheels, and slips through to wrench. Blake spins Omega to snapmare, but Omega turns chinlock into armlock. Omega wrenches, then hits a headlock takeover. Blake headscissors, Omega kips free, and Omega hits another takeover. Omega fights off the headscissors, but Blake fights up to his feet. Blake powers up and out, but Omega runs him over! Blake kips up, then pie faces Omega! And flips him off!
St. Paul boos as Blake is anything but a babyface here. Omega shrugs that off and CHOPS Blake! And CHOPS! And CHOPS again! Blake sputters, Omega wrenches and reel shim in, for a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up, Omega runs corner to corner, but Blake dodges! Omega hits buckles hard, then Blake fires shots to the lower back! The fans boo but Blake fires more body blows. Omega fires forearms and haymakers, but Blake knees low! Blake whips, hurdles, then dodges to DROPKICK! Blake kips up, and pulls out a finger gun! Blake licks it, BANG, but Omega ROCKS him first! Omega then brings Blake to a corner, but Blake blocks the buckle bump!
Blake CLAWS Omega’s eyes, then steps out to the apron with him, APRON SPEAR! Omega goes to the floor, Blake builds speed, INVERTED DIVE! Direct hit at the ramp, and Blake high-fives Big Shotty. Blake puts Omega in, then springboards, but Omega gets under! Blake handsprings through, but into a V-TRIGGER! Lee gets on the apron, but Omega DECKS him! The fans fire up, Omega vows to end this! SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX! Blake sputters, but Omega hits another SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX! Blake is dazed but Omega isn’t done! Omega reels Blake in, hooks a leg, AOI SHODOU! The fans fire up and Omega takes out his finger gun!
Omega says BANG, runs in, and V-TRIGGER! Blake sputters, Omega Electric Chair Lifts! Fold for the ONE WINGED ANGEL!! Cover, Omega wins!
Winner: Kenny Omega, by pinfall
The Vanilla Babyface melted from the heat Omega is bringing! Omega picks up his belt but also a mic to say, “What’s going on?” The fans cheer, and Omega says it is unfortunate that he doesn’t get to wrestle every single week like he’d like. But when he gets the chance to come out to St. Paul, and when he promises them that he’ll make it quick, AEW’s fearless leader, Tony Khan, had no choice but to sign the match. But it will be a far different story when it comes to Dynasty! Omega not only has Ricochet, who the fans boo, but he also has the newcomer, though not so new to Omega, in “Speedball” Mike Bailey! The fans cheer that name!
And speaking of, here comes Speedball! The fans fire up as Bailey walks out, mic in hand, and he goes right to the ring. The fans cheer as these two are face to face, and Bailey says, “Kenny Omega…” Omega says, “Speedball.” Bailey congratulates Omega, and Omega says, “Thanks?” Bailey says he wanted to come out here and say that Omega is an inspiration to him. Bailey respects Omega. No, more than that, he admires Omega. As a wrestler, but also as a person, and as a champoin. But Kenny… Come Dynasty, even though Bailey respects Omega, he will not hold anything back.
Bailey won’t pull his punches, and he won’t hesitate for even one second to kick Omega’s head clean off and take that International Championship! Fans are torn on that, but Omega says, “So, by the sounds of it-” Oh no, Ricochet interrupts from the tron. “Do I have you attention? Okay, good, good, good. As much as I would love to be there in person, to smack both of you in your faces for even thinking that you’re going to leave Dynasty with my title… Fortunately for everybody involved in this situation, today is my wedding.” Ricochet models his white suit, and says he is dressed for the best day of his life.
“That is, until April 6th, when I continue to show everybody why Ricochet is Outta This World, and I beat you, Cornball, and I beat you, former Best Bout Machine, and I become the NEW International Champion! Oh, it sounds good, it sounds so good. I can see it now. So go ahead, continue to argue amongst yourselves about the inevitable. That being that after April 6th, Ricochet leaves Dynasty with both the girl and the gold. AHA~!” The One & Only adjusts his collar, but Omega tells him not so fast! Oh, well, he’s gone. But first of all, congratulations are in order. But that’ll be the only thing Omega will congratulate Ricochet on.
Because at Dynasty, make no mistake about it, it’s much like Ricochet said, it isn’t about making friends! Omega has a cat, he doesn’t need any more friends. The fans cheer that! Omega continues to say that as good of a guy as Bailey may be, and as big of a piece of garbage as Ricochet is, they aren’t Omega’s comrades. There is only one thing Omega has time for, there is only one thing Omega has room for, and it’s got to do with the thing on his shoulder, and that is his legacy. So consider yourselves just another stepping stone to solidifying Omega’s legacy. Oh and by the way, welcome to AEW, Bailey.
Unfortunately, while Omega wishes he could talk more, he must bid each and every one of you adieu! So until Dynasty, goodbye, MWAH! And goodnight, BANG! The Cleaner puts both his challengers on notice, but will the numbers spell disaster for him at Dynasty?
The Learning Tree speaks.
Chris Jericho says, “Last Sunday on Collision, I had Gravity’s mask taken from me. Or should I say, taken from us. But that’s okay, because I think it’s time for all the masks to be removed. It’s time to discuss some ugly truths that need to be addressed. Like the fact that you two (Big Bill & Bryan Keith) have been under the branches of The Learning Tree for far too long without using the wisdom that I’ve bestowed upon you. I need to ask you why I have to keep telling you time and time again to prove yourselves, I’m sick of asking! You need to think if it’s worthy for you to still be with Chris Jericho.
“If you think that, then it’s time for you to make some drastic changes, and go prove yourselves to me! Once again, for the last time, PROVE IT!” Bill & Keith quietly walk off, and Jericho turns his attention back to the camera. Bandido got his brother’s mask back, congrats. But it isn’t Gravity’s mask that Jericho wants, it’s Bandido’s! Jericho wants Bandido to feel the disgrace and humiliation that his brother did when Jericho tore that mask off in front of their family! And why would Bandido put up the mask? Jericho knows Bandido wants to be ROH World Champion again, so how about this? Title VS Mask for Dynasty!
Bandido, is it worth risking the humiliation? Is it risking the disgrace? Is it worth making your mother cry again when you lose the mask? Is it worth it? Jericho thinks so. See you at Dynasty. The Nueve is ready to risk it all, but will he be the one to lose it all in just 11 days?
MJF is here!
St. Paul is torn as the Scumbag walks out, mic already in hand. MJF goes to the ring, shows off MVP’s business card, then has them cut his music. MJF says, “Much like Michael Jackson’s legacy is far more important than that talentless hack named Prince…” MJF grins as the fans boo… “My words are far more important than everybody watching on their cheap TV sets in their trailer parks at home, and it’s damn sure more important than each and every one of yours.” The fans boo more, but MJF says, “Let’s play a game, okeh, Minnesota? We’re gonna shut the hell up. You think we can pull that off?” The fans boo, so no.
MJF says that’s what he thought. MJF tells MVP that he’s been looking at the card for two weeks straight. And he would like for them to have a little chit-chat so MJF can give an answer. MJF invites MVP out, and the fans cheer as the head of The Hurt Syndicate makes his way out here! Montel Vontavious Porter likes the fans singing along, “We Hurt~ People!” and chanting “M V P! M V P!” MJF says the thing we can agree on is that MVP is a legend in the sport of professional wrestling. And is that a new cane? That’s gorgeous! The fans cheer that, and MJF tells MVP that after everything with Adam Cole, MJF promised he would never do “friends” in this again.
And MJF has known “Montel” a very long time, and if there is one thing MJF has learned about him, it’s that when MVP clocks in, he doesn’t do friends, either. MVP does business. MJF has been looking at the card for a long time, and he has made a decision. The decision is… MJF would like to be in the business of hurting people. MJF offers a handshake, MVP checks if he means it, and wait! The rest of the Hurt Syndicate is here! The fans fire up as Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin bring their AEW World Tag Team Championships to the ring. Lashley looks MJF right in the eyes while the fans again sing the song, “We Hurt~ People!”
And then Lashley offers a handshake! MJF asks if Lashley means that, and he says up top! But then Lashley explains that he wants the card. What? The card, Max. Hand it over. MJF says okay, here. MJF gives the card back to Lashley, and then Lashley looks to MVP and Shelton. Lashley hands MVP his belt to hold, and then he RIPS UP THE CARD! MJF says okay, does Lashley wanna go? They can do this now! MVP says no, no, they’re cool. MJF asks MVP what’s going on. He thought they were cool. MVP says yeah, they’re cool, they’re cool. He has Lashley stand down, and MJF says okay, they can talk later.
MJF steps out, the fans boo, and even MVP seems a bit unsure why Lashley pulled MJF’s card. MVP says business never sleeps, and that they know they can trust him. But wait! Bryan Keith & Big Bill walk out here? The Bad Apple tells everyone to hold on. “So I guess it is true. Hurt people do in fact hurt people. But don’t worry, we ain’t out here to join your little group therapy session. We got real business to attend to!” Bill takes the mic, but MVP tells him to get his “lil’ b*tch” back on the leash so the men can talk. Bill keeps Keith calm, and he says he sees the Hurt Syndicate standing in the ring with the tag titles, but he doesn’t see a challenger. MVP says, “Me neither!”
Bill wants to tell MVP something. MVP wants to run his mouth? MVP wants to come out here with his cane and his business cards, but Bill can’t tell if he’s American Psycho or Iceberg Slim. Is he a pimp or a businessman? MVP says he’s a bit o’ both, and he’ll make his boys turn The Learning Tree into their b*tches if Bill keeps running his mouth. Bill says all he sees is a chump, and the MVP of being Lashley’s b*tch. No, we established who the b*tch was, but if Bill wants to go on about this… Bill says they should talk over the tag team titles. Bill was once a tag team champion, and he was never pinned nor never submitted for those titles!
Bill’s partner got pinned by Sting, and then Sting ran off and retired before ever granting Bill a rematch. Shelton says they don’t care! Bill says how about this. He and Keith need to prove themselves to Jericho, so Bill will take his rematch, so that The Learning Tree will take those titles! MVP laughs, and says Bill’s a comedian. But since Bill and his “girlfriend” want a shot, they should actually win a match! Then they can talk about an opportunity for the titles. MVP goes to leave, Lashley stares down Bill, and then the Hurt Syndicate heads out. Who will The Redwood have to take down to prove he and the Bad Apple are ready for this fight?
Backstage interview with Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm.
Renee Paquette is with La Mera Mera & the Timeless AEW Women’s World Champion, and brings up tonight’s main event. #ThunderStorm reunites for the first time in three YEARS, and they take on Penelope Ford and Toni’s future challenger, Megan Bayne. Yes, Toni remembers it well. They were so young, so unafraid. Nothing’s really changed. Rosa says no, everything has changed. Toni’s certainly changed! She has a butler now! And let’s not forget, the last time they worked together, Toni knocked Rosa out and tried to erase the face paint off Rosa’s face. Oh, we all make mistakes in the heat of passion.
Well, then make no mistake. Because Rosa wants what she never lost. Toni tells Rosa, “Enough of this gay banter. Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, you two slop tarts are about to get double teamed like you’ve never dreamed!” Rosa plays along and says yes! Tonight, the games are over! Tonight, they fight! Tonight, you meet the team of… THUNDER TITS! W-What? No, it’s Thunder Storm. Not anymore! Strap yourselves in, girls, it’s gonna be a bumpy night. Kyle Fletcher w/ Don Callis VS Brody King!
The Protostar may have lost to Will Ospreay at Revolution, but he’s ready to redeem himself and rise back up the ranks. Will the Aussie Arrow shoot down this Hound of Hell? Or will Kyle come to understand why Brody is the King of Death?
Callis doesn’t join commentary, they don’t have the equipment ready, so he just throws Schiavone’s own notes at him. The fans tell Callis off, then they cheer on Brody. Kyle claims he needs a second with his tearaway pants, but then he BOOTS Brody instead! The ref rings the bell, Kyle fires off stomps, but he stops at 4. Kyle soaks up the heat, then OFF COME THE PANTS! Kyle flexes, but Brody stalks up behind him! The fans bark, Callis tells Kyle to turn around. Kyle soaks up more heat, but then he turns around into a CHOP! Brody drags Kyle up, CHOPS him again, and Kyle goes to a corner. Brody fires forearms again and again to sit Kyle down!
Brody digs his boot in, the ref counts, and Brody stops. Kyle flops out of the ring and St. Paul cheers Brody on. Brody paces while he waits on Kyle, and Callis gives Kyle a shoulder rub. Kyle rises, the fans tell Callis off, and Kyle hobbles around the way. Kyle slides in, but Brody drags Kyle up! Brody CHOPS Kyle, brings him around to scoop and SLAM! Then Brody runs to SENTON! Kyle sputters and the fans bark again. Brody drags Kyle back up, eggs him on, so Kyle CHOPS! And CHOPS! But Brody CHOPS and Kyle falls back! Kyle goes to the ropes, Brody stands him up to CHOP again! Brody runs, but Kyle follows! CALF KICK!
Brody sputters against the ropes and Callis cheers. Kyle stomps away at the ropes, but stops as the ref counts. The fans boo but Kyle drags Brody up. Kyle whips, but Brody blocks! Brody then swings, but Kyle dodges. Brody blocks the boot, and he LARIATS Kyle up and out! Kyle flops to the floor and the fans are thunderous! Brody has everyone barking as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Callis is worried for Kyle as Brody storms out and drags him up. Brody whips Kyle hard into barriers, then high-fives the fans. Brody brings Kyle around to whip hard into railing! Kyle is upside-down, Brody high-fives more fans, and then Brody stands on Kyle! Brody flexes, the fans cheer, but the ref reprimands. Brody steps off, then he drags Kyle up. Callis keeps his distance mostly out of fear, and Brody whips Kyle into more railing! Brody holds Kyle up for photo ops, then he CHOPS! Kyle flops up and over into the front row! The ref has Brody give them space while he checks on Kyle. Kyle is okay to continue, but Brody just CHOPS him again!
Kyle ends up in the second row now, and Brody tells him night-night. Kyle manages to sit up, so Brody drags him back to the railing. Brody suplexes Kyle to the floor! Kyle sputters, but Brody puts him back in the ring. Brody climbs to the apron, but Kyle runs in and CALF KICKS him down! Brody stumbles backwards into the desk! Brody hobbles, Callis creeps up, but then Brody barks and scares Callis off. Kyle runs out to CLUB Brody on the back! Kyle puts Brody back in the ring and Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans again tell Callis off, but Kyle taunts Brody. Brody leans against the ropes, Kyle brings him up, but Brody CHOPS!
Kyle sputters, but he KNEES low! Kyle fires knee after knee into Brody, then soaks up the heat. Kyle stands Brody up, but Brody CHOPS again! And again! And again! Kyle BOOTS in return! Kyle whips, but Brody blocks again! So Kyle ROCKS Brody with a forearm! Kyle whips, Brody reverses, but Kyle ducks ‘n’ dodges! Only to run into a BIG BOSS MAN SLAM! The fans fire up while both men are down, and a standing count starts already. Brody rises at 4 of 10, the fans bark, and Kyle sputters back up. Brody LARIATS Kyle back down! And LARIATS him again! And then CHOPS! Kyle rebounds, into a BACKDROP!
The fans fire up as Kyle flounders out of the ring. Brody slashes his throat, builds speed, and DIVES! Direct hit and down goes Kyle! The fans lose their minds, that was literally the biggest tope possible! Brody stands Kyle up, whips him back into barriers, and Kyle takes a seat in the corner. Brody makes sure to position Kyle just right, and CHOPS him again! Brody barks, the fans join in, and Brody gets space. Brody runs in from the ramp, but Kyle jumps at him! Brody caches Kyle with one hand! Brody scoops, but Kyle slips free to POST Brody! And then he RAMS Brody into the barriers! Kyle goes to the apron, takes aim, and he PENALTY KICKS!
Brody staggers and drops to a knee. Kyle goes into the ring and he DIVES! Direct hit and Brody hits barriers hard! The fans fire up while both men are down on the ground! Callis coaches Kyle, St. Paul rallies for Brody, but Brody is dazed while Kyle rolls into the ring. The ring count is already 5 of 10, then 7! Callis wants the count to be faster, but Brody is up at 8! Brody rolls in, but Kyle is up top! Kyle aims and MACHO ELBOWS! Cover, TWO!! Brody survives and the fans fire up! Kyle begs that the count was wrong, but no, that was fair. Kyle drags Brody up, reels him in, but Brody fights the suplex! Brody then hits a CORNER EXPLODER!
Kyle sputters and flounders, and Brody stalks him to the apron. Brody drags Kyle up and reels him in, but Kyle fights the lift! Kyle is free to SUPERKICK! And SUPERKICK! But Brody still fireman’s carries! APRON DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!! Both men fall to the floor, the fans lose their minds, and Dynamite goes picture in picture again.
Kyle checks his arms to make sure they’re working, and Brody also stirs. Callis and the ref argue, but there was nothing illegal about what Brody did. The ring count starts, Callis seems to still complain about stuff, and both men are slowly rising at 5 of 10. Brody stands at 7, rolls in, and Kyle stands at 8! Kyle lunges in at 9! The ref checks with Kyle to make sure he’s still in this, and Kyle nods as he slowly sits up. Kyle shakes out the stars going around his head, and Brody hobbles over to him. Brody stands Kyle up, ROCKS him, and Kyle staggers back to the ropes. Brody eggs Kyle on, and Kyle rises back up.
Kyle winds up to ROCK Brody! Brody ROCKS Kyle, and Kyle drops to a knee! Kyle rises to fire another forearm, but there’s far less behind it. Brody ROCKS Kyle again, Dynamite again returns to single picture, and Brody fires more shots! Kyle fires back, the shots pick up speed, and Kyle fires a flurry! But Brody ROCKS him with just one! Dunkzilla gave The Protostar the assist, that’s a win for the Callis Family! But then Kyle goes back for more as he stomps and hammers away on Brody! Davis helps out while Callis directs them, but here comes The Powerhouse! Will Hobbs brings the straps down as he enters from the crowd side! The fans fire up as Hobbs rushes the ring! He fires forearms on Davis, and on Kyle! Hobbs DECKS Davis, he DECKS Kyle, and then Brody LARIATS Kyle up and outta the ring! The fans fire up, and Hobbs wants his fight with Davis NOW! Will the Book of Hobbs punctuate this chapter with a win? Or will the Callis Family quickly go 2-0 on the night?
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs VS Mark Davis w/ Don Callis!
Dynamite returns as referees, security, and even Christopher Daniels are keeping Hobbs and Davis apart. It seems that AEW officials still need to work out the change in the schedule, they were hoping to do this match a little later. Meanwhile, Callis is finally on commentary to complain that Hobbs was going to assault him, a non-wrestler. Hobbs and Davis storm into the ring, despite the wishes of the refs and Fallen Angel. But fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Daniels tries to talk Davis and Hobbs down, but Davis and Hobbs just throw security out of the way! Daniels says fine, let’s do it now!
The bell rings, and the fans fire up as DOUBLE LARIATS collide! And again! And again! “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Davis kicks low, suplexes high and hard, but Hobbs is right up! Davis KNEES low, then runs, but Hobbs CLOBBERS Davis at the ropes! Davis goes to a corner, Hobbs storms up, but Davis uses the straps to YANK Hobbs into buckles! The ref reprimands, Davis CHOPS, and CHOPS, and CHOPS! Davis scrubs his forearm in Hobbs’ face, then sits him down.
The fans boo but Davis runs side to side, and he SLIDING FOREARMS! Hobbs sputters, Davis drags him up, and Davis reels Hobbs in. But Hobbs BACKDROPS free! The fans fire up and Hobbs snarls again. Hobbs runs corner to corner, but Davis ELBOWS him! Davis runs up, but into the SNAP POWERSLAM! The fans fire up and the straps come down! Hobbs runs up to LARIAT! Hobbs then keeps Davis in the corner for “MEAT!” LARIAT after “MEAT!” LARIAT! Hobbs whips corner to corner, but then reels Davis in, but Davis kinda muffles the spinebuster. Hobbs is annoyed and drags Davis up, but Davis ENZIGIRIS!
Davis runs, but Hobbs gets him for a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, Hobbs wins!
Winner: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, by pinfall
Hobbs just handled town bidness, but Callis says of course Hobbs won, he got the jump on everyone coming in from the crowd! Callis’ excuses aside, Hobbs dunked Dunkzilla, and the Callis Family is 1-1 with one more to go! Will Hobbs finally move on from his past? Or will Callis not rest until the Powerhouse is demolished?
Backstage interview with The Patriarchy.
Lexy Nair is with Kip Sabian, Nick Wayne & “Mother Shayna,” but Christian Cage is conspicuous by his absence. Lexy specifically wants to ask Nick this: We’ve seen a big shift in Nick’s attitude both back and forth. He confronted Christian Cage on his excuses about Revolution, but then costs Adam Copeland the title last Wednesday. What is going on with The Patriarchy? Nick says things are starting to make sense to him as to why Christian did what he did at Revolution. But he will wait to speak his thoughts for when he and Christian are face-to-face.
As for last Wednesday, that just goes to show what happens when they’re all on the same page. “And how to properly… I repeat, properly execute a plan.” Nick heads out, Mother Shayna smiles and follows, and Kip… Well, he’s quiet but he still follows the Waynes out. Is The Patriarchy’s Prodigy proving he can be the man of the house?
Backstage interview with Hangman Page.
Renee is with The Cowboy, and notes that last week, he officially entered his name for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The winner of that tournament will challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas. Now, AEW is in St. Paul tonight, site of- Oh, wait, Swerve Strickland storms in! He knows he only just recovered from the busted eardrum, but did he just hear right that Hangman wants in on Swerve’s world title? Hangman says, “B*tch, did I stutter?” Swerve tells Hangman to not dare even try it! Swerve will end him and he knows what Swerve is capable of! Prince Nana has Swerve stand down, Swerve has his own business to handle.
Swerve and Nana leave, and Hangman snarls. Will Hangman not only win the Owen Hart Cup this year, but finally take back the AEW World Championship? And will it be Swerve who meets him in Texas?
Exclusive sit-down interview with Rated FTR.
It was earlier today that Tony Schiavone sat down with Adam Copeland, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood, and notes that the friendship between these three has been a lot deeper than what we’ve seen on camera. They’re basically next door neighbors, Cope has been responsible for some of FTR’s biggest breaks in their careers. Dax already frowns and shakes his head. Dax apologizes but he wants to interrupt here. He feels that he must address the elephant in the room. Last week, he allowed his emotions to get the better of him. He owes both Adam and Cash an apology for what happened.
Dax just felt that FTR took a break from their goals, their focus, the AEW World Tag Team Championships, for four months, all to help Cope realize his goal of being AEW World Champion. After two tries, it did not happen, which just frustrated Dax. Cope has Dax stop there. The way Dax positioned that, it sounds like Cope is the one who pulled them away from the tag titles. Cope came back to help FTR against the Death Riders after they put bags over FTR’s heads and beat them down. That’s how this all started. It was not Cope’s intention to pull FTR away from anything.
Dax knows, he’s just saying, that’s why he has to apologize. Dax let his emotions get to him, and so he wanted to explain the preface. He just felt that FTR took their eyes off the prize, they were directionless for four months, and it had nothing to do- Cash speaks up now. Cash knows they’ve all let their emotions get the better of them. Cash cannot watch Dax and Cope fight like this while he’s caught in the middle of it. Everyone knows Dax and Cash are best friends, they’ve teamed together for the better part of 11 years. But maybe people don’t know as much about the friendship of Cope and Cash, everything Cope has done for Cash.
Without either of these men, Cash has nothing. When Cash was struggling, nowhere to live, sleeping in his car, Cope gave him a place to live and to be without worry so he could pursue all of this. Cope gave Cash chance after chance, Dax was there for those opportunities, so without either one, Cash doesn’t have this, he isn’t here right now. So he just wants himself and his two best friends to all be on the same page. Dax says t hat’s why he had to apologize. Dax took it too far last week, but he does think that now that they’ve helped Cope realize his goals and done their part, it is time for FTR to get back on theirs.
Dax tells The Hurt Syndicate that the AEW World Tag Team Championships- Cash stops Dax again, and says Cash feels there is still something here. Rated FTR has a lot of life left, and Cash would love if they went after the Trios Championships one more time, to see if they can stop The Death Riders. Cope agrees there. If there’s juice in the tank, then let’s do it. Cope tells The Death Riders, April 6th, Death Riders VS Rated FTR for the Trios Championships. Dax does like the sound of that. #TopGuysOut! Cope adds #RatedFTROut. Cash likes that.
So while Cope could not dethrone Jon Moxley, can he and FTR still free the AEW World Trios Championships? Or will there be no end to the reign of terror?
Swerve Strickland heads to the ring!
St. Paul fires up for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Swerve grabs the mic and says, “Everybody knows exactly why I’m here. I’m here to call out Jon Moxley! Not the Death Riders, the AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley. You better get your ass down here right now and look me eye to eye, man to man, if you’ve got the balls to do so!” The fans fire up, the Death Riders’ theme hits, and The Maniac makes his way through the crowd. Swerve keeps his eyes on Moxley as he draws closer. Nana steps out as Moxley steps in, and Swerve tells Moxley, “I’ve been allowing things to go on like this for far too long.”
People have been asking since October as to why Swerve hasn’t been going after his AEW World Championship. Swerve says he likes to give people just enough rope to hang themselves, and that’s Moxley. Swerve tells him, “Look at you. What happened to you? Jon Moxley used to be revered here in AEW! You and the AEW World Championship used to be synonymous with each other. Now look at you. You hide behind Claudio, you hide behind Wheeler Yuta, you hide behind Pac. Hell, you even hide behind Marina Shafir.” The fans start up another chant for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!”
Swerve says Moxley still has the nerve to say no one else wants to be world champion. But Moxley isn’t even worthy of it himself! And to be honest, Swerve thinks the reason Moxley hides the title in the briefcase is because he can’t even look at it. He can’t even face himself with that on his shoulder any more. Swerve says every time Moxley has a title defense, he narrowly escapes. And last week, he showed the world that. Oh, by the way, how’s Moxley’s back feeling? Moxley smirks, and Swerve says everything about Moxley that he used to be, is standing right here looking at him. The fans cheer Swerve on while Moxley nods.
But CLAUDIO IS BEHIND NANA! The fans freak out, and Moxley smirks. Swerve looks over and sees Claudio! Nana still doesn’t notice, but he starts to sense something’s wrong. Moxley says it’s fine, we’re all chill. And that all sounded great, if you believe it. But this isn’t about Moxley, this is about Swerve. April 6th is really Swerve VS Swerve. It isn’t about Moxley, stop worrying about Moxley. Moxley wants Swerve to ask himself, “Who are you, really? What are you really?” Moxley knows. He listens and watches, hears everything and sees everything, so he knows everything. He knows exactly who and what Swerve is, and he knows what Swerve could be.
And damn, has Moxley had high hopes for Swerve. But he has been disappointed before. On April 6th, Moxley gives Swerve a chance to step in and become everything that he can be. He just has to ask himself one question: “How far am I willing to go?” Not tonight, not just April 6th, but every night. When it is cold and dark and you’re in pain and you’re tired. When the world is baring down on your shoulders and you have no friends left. When everyone else is gone and you have the weight of the entire world on your shoulders. Will you endure? Will you put one foot in front of another? Or will you look for a way out? Will you take others with you?
There are a lot of questions Swerve has to ask himself. Swerve is not what he thinks he is, because he has not suffered enough yet! But he will. “My sport has been taken over by billionaires, Hollywood talent agencies and kids who see the world through an Instagram filter and don’t know their head from their ass! It’s guys like you that give me hope for the future. It’s guys like you that make me think everything I’ve put my mind and my body and my soul through was for a reason.” Fans do seem to like that. Moxley says he won’t give it to Swerve, though. He doesn’t care what kind of “punk ass organization they’re running around here.”
Moxley does not give handouts, so how far is Swerve willing to go? Moxley will go the whole way right now! But that shouldn’t be a problem for Swerve, Swerve is the Most Dangerous Man in AEW, right? Moxley and Swerve circle, but that lets Marina Shafir sneak in! BUT WILLOW APPEARS! Marina has a crowbar, Willow has a pipe, so it is a standoff on the apron! Swerve asks Moxley what’s wrong. Is he finally facing off with someone smarter than him? So let’s get this straight: Moxley wants to talk “unscripted violence” BS? Swerve IS violence! Moxley’s bled pints, Swerve’s bled buckets. Moxley’s been in Texas Death Matches, Swerve’s WON them.
Swerve IS the Most Dangerous Man in AEW! “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” “And in Philadelphia in 11 days, I take back that AEW World Championship, and I continue to lead the Dynasty Era! And while I’m doing that, you can have fun continuing to play Jon Moxley on TV.” Mic drop! The fans fire up again as Swerve and Moxley stare down. It is quite the standoff here, so Moxley has the Death Riders stand down. The clock is ticking, are Moxley’s days as champion numbered? Wait, Marina YANKS Willow down! Marina fires off on Willow, but Willow RAMS Marina into the barriers! Claudio gets Marina out of there, Nana tries to help, but Willow shoves Nana aside!
Willow goes after Marina, even as Claudio carries Marina away! The fans fire up but The Death Riders drag Marina back but fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Marina is a Problem, but will the Babe with the Power be a problem solver?
The Opps commandeer a camera!
Been a minute since this has happened, but Katsuyori Shibata films while he follows Samoa Joe & Hook. Joe asks Hook a question: last week, Hook sunk in that Redrum for a little bit of time. Is there anything behind that? Nah, just having fun. Fun? Hook smirks and says c’mon. It was Max Caster, a super annoying guy, it’s fun to choke him out. Joe says aight. Anyway, look who it is! Caster is trying to convince AR Fox & Top Flight to all go solo like he did. Shibata slips around so we can see Joe & Hook walk up behind Caster. Caster talks trash on Anthony Bowens, how Bowens is doing nothing after The Acclaimed broke up.
Wow, really, Caster? What? The fans are literally chanting his name! “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” They don’t believe that for a second. Caster then spots Shibata and asks what’s up. Joe snatches Caster into the COQUINA CLUTCH!! Joe puts Platinum Max right to sleep, and then dusts himself off. And then he tells Hook he gets it now. They shake hands, and Joe says what’s up, hometown boys! The Opps shake hands with Top Flight, and say have a good night. Hook says, “To the death.” Shibata’s text-to-speech says, “I see what you did there.” When Caster wakes up, will he realize he really needs to watch what he says?
Backstage interview with Jay White.
Renee is with the Switchblade and says he took a particular interest in Will Ospreay and Hangman Page entering the Men’s Owen Hart Cup. White has history with both men, so where does he stand on this? White says those are some big names. He thinks we should add his name to that, so what better time than now? Jay White officially declares for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament! Last year didn’t work out too well, White losing to Hangman for the first time ever, mostly thanks to Hangman’s “buddy,” Christian Cage. And then White ended up injured, out for four months.
But this year, White will win the cup, go on to All In: Texas, and once again have a shot at the AEW World Championship! And if Hangman or #BillyGoat are lucky enough to cross paths with The Switchblade, so be it. But before we get there, there are plenty of other players backstage that would love to differ with him. How about one of the ORIGINAL Collision Cowboys return to Collision this Saturday. If there’s someone who thinks they’re more deserving of a spot than White, show up and state your case to The Switchblade. White aims his finger gun, who will accept this Open Challenge?
Top Flight w/ AR Fox VS Alex Findley & Devo Knight!
Darius & Dante Martin get a hero’s welcome as the hometown boys for Minnesota! But Lio Rush & Action Andretti are ringside, hoping this homecoming is a horrible one. Will Top Flight win one for Minneapolis? Or will they not like the taste of the Royal Flavuh?
The teams sort out, Darius starts against Devo, and the fans fire up with the bell. Darius and Devo circle, Devo waistlocks but Darius switches to SLAM! Darius then hooks Devo, turns him over to a cover, ONE! Darius spins away from Devo’s sweep, then headlocks. Devo powers up and out, Darius CLOBBERS him, and then brings him up to wrench and CHOP! Devo sputters, but Darius whips him to the corner. We see Big Bill & Bryan Keith are watching this backstage, perhaps scouting a team they can beat to then go after the Hurt Business. Darius runs in at Devo but Devo pops Darius up. Dante tags in, Darius CHOPS Devo, and Dante A-LIST LARIATS!
Darius tags back in, snap suplexes Devo down, then kips up to tag Dante. Dante slingshot SENTONS! The fans fire up but here comes Alex! Dante catches Alex and spins him, Top Flight gives him the LARIAT STO COMBO! Dante TOSSES Alex, then drags Devo up. Devo JAWBREAKERS back, then runs up. “Ever since I came into AEW, the game has dramatically changed. It is time for me to move AEW into a new generation. Tony Khan is looking for the best in the world, and there’s only one person that fits that criteria, and it’s me. When you hear, ‘This is where the best wrestles,’ nah, bruv. This is where Billy wrestles. This is about restoring the feeling, and bruv, I AM the feeling!” The Aerial Assassin will return to Dynamite next week in Peoria, Illinois, but how will he sharpen that edge before the Owen Hart Tournament begins?

Wheeler Yuta says, “Rated FTR wants to challenge us to a World Trios Championship match at Dynasty. Dax & Cash, I already hate your guts. But Cope, you’re the most sinister of all. You tried to rip me away from my family. You tried to manipulate me! My family is much stronger than yours.” Claudio tells Rated FTR, “You guys are pathetic. The going gets tough, you bicker and start throwing hissy fits. Is this Kindergarten?” Pac says, “Gentlemen, it’s your arrogance, it’s your cockiness, that we really find hard to stomach. You see, after everything that you’ve done to us in previous weeks, it is you who has the audacity to challenge us?

Backstage interview with The Hurt Syndicate.
Alicia Atout caches up with MVP, Lashley & Shelton and wants to ask them about MJF. Is he in or is he out? Lashley asks for just a moment, please. Alicia steps aside, and Lashley says MVP told them to take a vacation, and then they see MVP hugging it out with MJF?! What’s that about? MVP wants them to understand. After that performance at Revolution, they earned that time off. MVP doesn’t get time off, he had to come to work, because business never stops, money never sleeps. Now, they’ve been talking about adding a fourth member for some time, and MVP made MJF an offer. What’s the problem?
So MVP likes MJF? Yeah. Okay, but this is MJF. The kid’s got a reputation. Shelton & Lashley don’t like it. MJF is grimy, slimy, and not to be trusted. Everyone says that about him. MVP says yeah, MJF has some reprehensible qualities. And that’s why MVP likes him! Those qualities could be good for their business. Now, they’re the Hurt Syndicate. If they really don’t want MJF in, MVP respects the dynamic, they can revisit this. But right now, let’s focus on the Big Bill situation. Are they all on the same page there? Call it. Let’s hurt people. The Syndicate heads out, but will they accept the Scumbag into the fold? Or will they find someone more suited to their business plans?

Winners: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, by pinfall
What a shocker! The Megasus just pinned the AEW Women’s World Champion! Ford celebrates with Megan, will the AEW Women’s World Championship soon belong to them?
My Thoughts:
A great episode of Dynamite, really jampacked, but also maybe a little too packed? I believe the vast majority of the women’s tag match main event was in the overrun. I know this is all live TV and TNT/TBS lets them have the overrun, but clearly something went way too long if the main event is right before the two hour mark. That aside, still a great main event that also had a great promo from ThunderStorm/Thunder Tits. I knew it’d been a long time since Thunder & Storm were on the same side, but I didn’t realize it’d already been three YEARS. Either way, Megan winning here makes sense, Toni is logically the underdog champion. This is very much Toni’s Rocky VS Drago in Rocky 4, and I’m sure Toni will persevere and win just like Rocky Balboa.
Very good opening match from Omega VS Blake, but of course Omega was winning. I’m unsure why Lee Johnson is suddenly Blake Christian’s pal. Did something happen to the #LEEJ team-up with EJ Nduka? But good promos from Omega, Bailey and Ricochet to hype up their Triple Threat, and we’ve still got the go-homes to go, who knows who wins at Dynasty. Good promo from Jericho to call out Bandido while also talking down to Bill & Keith. I suppose I should’ve foreseen Jericho wanting Title VS Mask as the blowoff, that’s not a bad choice. But then all the more reason Bandido wins the title and sends Jericho off into a spiral where he gets mad at Bill & Keith more.
That said, Bill & Keith confronting The Hurt Syndicate is a bold move. MVP logically gives him the same deal he gave The Outrunners and The Murder Machines, and while Top Flight is good, I would think The Cru costs Dante & Darius their match this Saturday. Good win for Top Flight here in their home state, though it was of course against jobbers. Their segment with Fox, Caster and The Opps was really good stuff, too. I wonder if Caster calls out Joe as if he even stands a chance, all because of his arrogance as the self-proclaimed Best Wrestler Alive. Still waiting on Bowens to return and challenge Caster.
Back to the Hurt Syndicate, I’m intrigued with how they didn’t outright accept nor reject MJF. MVP wants to give MJF a chance, maybe something happens closer to Dynasty, and I’m not even really sure which works out better. Jay White had a good promo to declare for the Owen Hart Cup, and he’ll have a great match against Kevin Knight this Saturday. Swerve confronting Hangman before then confronting Moxley was good stuff. I’m sure I’ve said something like this before, but while Moxley always gets his promos out, he needs to get it out in more concise ways. The fans in St. Paul certainly weren’t in the mood for Moxley to monologue again. But they perfectly had that chess game going, with Claudio checking Nana while Willow checked Marina. That Mixed Tag will be a lot of fun.
Very good promo from Nick Wayne, but here’s hoping TK writes Patriarchy’s story right. Nick Wayne is making it sound like he’s siding with Christian, but since Nick wants to wait to share his thoughts, he must surely be waiting to turn on Christian. It needs to happen, we can’t have Nick going Stockholm Syndrome like Yuta did with Death Riders. Very good promo from Death Riders to call out Rated FTR, and Rated FTR had a very good promo of their own. Dax was rather passive aggressive about not becoming tag champs again while helping Cope fight the Death Riders, so I feel like the trios title causes FTR to turn on Cope.
The Don Callis Family sure did a lot tonight, and gave us three great matches. It makes sense the Callis Family went 2-1. Kyle beating Brody was fine, Kyle needed to rebound. But he didn’t give us an answer on what’s next for him like he promised on Collision. And where was Okada to harp on Brody King losing to him? Maybe that happens on Collision this week. Hobbs being the one loss the DCF took also makes sense, as Hobbs might still be feuding with them to get through all their ranks and build momentum towards a title. Konosuke VS Briscoe was awesome, and a great win for Konosuke given he’s still NEVER Openweight Champion. I wonder if Hobbs and Konosuke also get in on the Owen Hart Cup…
My Score: 8.9/10
