To earn a spot in Clash of Fate’s Hyrule Warriors match, 10 new stars fight in HPW’s newest tradition: The Dark Horse Stampede!

As traditions continue to be established, HPW takes the next step in insuring everyone a fair opportunity. The Hyrule Warriors match at Clash of Fates has thirty-three spots open, so what is reserving five of them for the future? Tonight, ten up-and-coming wrestlers battle for their place in history! Who will break away from the pack and cross that checkered line? HPW Dark Horse Stampede starts now!

Rod Wyler VS Teba!

The Greatest Wosu-ler of This Or Any Generation and the White Winged Warrior meet to kick off this first-ever event in a first-ever meeting! Will Rod bury Teba like a bone in the yard? Or will Teba show Rod the pecking order in this generation of upstarts?

The bell rings and Wyler doesn’t seem to take Teba seriously. Teba dares Ohno to bring it and fans are all fired up! Wyler and Teba tie up, and Wyler laughs as he holds Teba off with one arm! Teba spins through to get up, and the two circle again. Wyler spins through to wrench and bring Teba down. Teba endures and reaches up but can’t headscissor. Fans rally and Teba keeps working, and manages a ghost pin! TWO, and Wyler backs off. Wyler and Teba tie up again, and Teba headlocks. Wyler stands up to lift Teba, but Teba holds tight as Wyler works to power out. Wyler rolls around but Teba holds tight still. But then Wyler pries him off with a headscissors!

Teba bridges as Wyler cranks on him, and then moves around to turn Wyler over! Teba has a leglock! Teba shifts and grabs arms for CATTLE MUTILATION! But Wyler rolls it off, stands up and throws Teba off. Wyler smothers Teba in the corner to whip him corner to corner, but Teba leaps up and leaps again to FLYING ARM-DRAG! And then leaps to DROPKICK! Wyler stays up but Teba dropkicks a leg out! Wyler throws a wristband to distract the ref, and he gets away with a throat chop! Fans boo but Wyler snapmares and drops a knee right on Teba’s head! Wyler grabs Teba’s arms and wrenches back while fans rally up. Teba fights his way up but Wyler wrenches harder.

Wyler gets Teba in a cobra clutch but Teba endures. Teba pries his way out but Wyler waistlocks and lifts to cradle, yoyo and SENTON! Cover, TWO! Teba’s proving tougher than the Wosu-ling Genius calculated! Wyler grabs Teba’s hands for knuckle locks and makes a cover, ONE as Teba gets an arm up. Wyler forces that arm back down, TWO! Wyler tries again, Teba keeps getting his shoulders up, and then powers up! Fans rally as Teba bridges up, Wyler goes to squash Teba but Teba blocks and pushes back. Teba leaps up and RANAS Wyler away! Fans are fired up as Teba throws forearms! And a DROPKICK!

Wyler stays up and then dodges the second dropkick, but his senton gets caught into an ARMBAR! But Wyler gets a ROPEBREAK! Teba lets up, dodges Wyler’s boot, and rolls him up! TWO, and Wyler spins, into an armbar takedown! Wyler sits up and Teba holds tight, trying for a triangle now! Wyler makes it a cover, TWO as Teba gets a shoulder up. Wyler dead lifts and puts Teba on the ropes, for a ROPE GUILLOTINE! Fans boo while Teba flops out of the ring, gasping for air, but Wyler also needs to catch his breath. Wyler goes out to fetch Teba and brings him up for a SLAPPING haymaker! The ring count reaches 5 of 10 as A-Kid CHOPS back!

Wyler DECKS Teba then throws Teba at the ring at 8! Teba Tiger Feint Kicks Wyler away, AND WYLER IS COUNTED OUT! Teba wins!!

Winner: Teba, by count-out (qualifies for the Hyrule Warriors match)

The Greatest Wosu-ler doesn’t look so great now! And he looks even worse as he CLOBBERS Teba!! Wyler doesn’t like being made to look a fool, and he stomps Teba down! “Who do you think you are, huh!?” Wyler drags Teba up, and he puts him in THE LEASH! Wyler thrashes Teba around in the arm-trapped cravat, but referees rush out to reprimand him. Teba gets to ropes, pushes off them, and hits a JAWBREAKER! Wyler staggers away, Teba runs in and DYNAMIC DROPKICKS Wyler out of the ring! Wyler is a sore loser but he feels really sore now! But will Teba soar in the Hyrule Warriors match?

Ladrona VS Laine!

The Thief Girl wants a treasure no one can take away, and that’s a win in this historic event! But the Lily of the Valley wants to follow in the footsteps of her Gerudo role models! Will Ladrona stay in her lane? Or will she run Laine off the road on the road to the Coliseum?

The bell rings and the two circle. Fans rally up, the two approach, tie up, and Ladrona wrenches to a hammerlock then shifts to a headlock. Ladrona hits a headlock takeover but Laine headscissors. Laine holds tight as Ladrona tries to kip free, and Laine flexes. Laine then pushes up to put more pressure on the hold but Ladrona endures. Ladrona kicks and moves around, headstands and hops, hops and pops free! Fans applaud while Ladrona shimmies her hips. Ladrona offers Laine a hand to get up, but Laine drop toeholds Ladrona back down! Laine floats and headlocks but Ladrona slips out while handspringing forward!

Fans applaud Ladrona’s agile creativity, and Ladrona runs the ropes. Ladrona ducks ‘n’ dodges Laine, then slides under Laine to ROLLING ELBOW! Ladrona staggers, Laine waistlocks and O’Conner Rolls, TWO! Fans cheer as the two reset. Laine grows a little frustrated but cools off as she and Ladrona circle again. They tie up, Laine powers Ladrona to a corner and the ref counts the ropebreak. Laine lets off slowly, and Ladrona grabs her arm to loop it through the ropes! The ref counts and Ladrona lets off at 4, to kick the ropes to jam the arm! The ref reprimands and Laine clutches the arm, but Ladrona grabs the arm again.

Ladrona knuckle locks, CHOPS Laine, goes up and up to FLYING ARM-DRAG! Fans fire up, Laine staggers up, Ladrona runs in to wheelbarrow, but Laine blocks the victory roll! Laine brings Ladrona back up, then throws her with a GERMAN SUPLEX! Ladrona tumbles into the corner, Laine runs in and SPLASHES! Laine then whips Ladrona corner to corner hard, and Ladrona bounces off buckles to hit the mat. Laine storms up, deadlift gut wrenches her, and has her in a Gerudo shoulder rack! Ladrona endures being bent back, and Laine spins for a NECKBREAKER DROP! Cover, TWO!! Ladrona survives and Laine can’t believe it!

Laine storms around while Ladrona sits up in a daze. Ladrona staggers up and Laine RAMS her into the corner! Laine picks Ladrona up and runs her corner to corner to RAM her in again! Fans fire up with “Fast Laine! Fast Laine!” as she runs corner to corner again! But Ladrona flails and sunset flips, then rotates more to get a backslide! TWO, and Laine sits up into a KICK from Ladrona! Ladrona reels Laine in for a BASEMENT DDT! Cover off the “Bottom Dollar,” TWO! Ladrona grows frustrated but the fans fire up! Ladrona takes aim as Laine sits up again, but Laine blocks the basement superkick!

Laine spins Ladrona around, reels her in, but Ladrona fights the suplex! Ladrona reaches for ropes, throws back elbows, then runs forward to HOTSHOT Laine into the ropes! Laine sputters and staggers away, Ladrona then CHOP BLOCKS a leg! Ladrona get a pump handle into a roll up and jackknife! LADRONA WINS!

Winner: Ladrona, by pinfall (qualifies for the Hyrule Warriors match)

Ladrona gets Laine with “The Pickpocket” cradle! Laine can’t believe that’s how it ends! Will Ladrona snatch away the golden ticket at Clash of Fates like she did here?

Donny B. Kool VS Ralph!

The Original Geru drops the beat, but the “Lad from Labrynna” brings the heat! Donny likes to have his fun, but will he get serious? Or will Ralph spin him right ’round like a record, baby, right ’round, ’round, ’round?

Whoa, lots of crazy zooms in and out on Donny’s entrance here as he jumps out on stage and goes “Whoa~, whoa~, WHOOOA~!” And then it’s just Fun Factory’s Take Your Chance! Fans start chanting “You Better Believe It!” as Donny grooves his way to the ring, much to Ralph’s confusion. The theme song fades out but fans still chant “You Better Believe It!” The bell rings and as Ralph and Donny circle, Donny bobs his head as if he’s still grooving. Donny and Ralph tie up, they’re in a deadlock but Donny steps side-to-side. After three steps, he thrusts out his shoulder! It’s like he’s making it a dance!

Fans get into the rhythm, clap clap clap “Hey!” Clap clap clap “Hey!” Ralph shoves Donny away but Donny keeps grooving with a shoulder shimmy, clap clap clap “Hey!” and Donny strikes a pose on the “Hey!” The rhythm then turns into clap clap “You Better Believe It!” Clap clap “You Better Believe It!” Ralph gets annoyed, and he SLAPS Donny! Fans let out an “Oh…!” and Donny stops vibing! Danny stares Ralph down and Ralph looks concerned as fans chant, “That’s Not Cool! That’s Not Cool!” Donny rushes Ralph and powers him to a corner! Fans fire up as Donny fires off windmilling haymakers!

The ref counts, Donny hammers away until 4, and fans fire up more as he roars! Donny swings, Ralph gets under and turns things around to stomp, uppercut and CHOP! Ralph runs side to side to back elbow Donny! Then he runs the other side, and comes back to forearm smash! Ralph whips Donny corner to corner and runs in to DROPKICK! Ralph fires up but fans boo and chant, “Still Not Cool! Still Not Cool!” Ralph drags Donny up, CHOPS him again, then whips him out to reel him in and CHOP again! Ralph reels Donny in for a BIG back suplex, and Donny’s in the drop zone! Ralph jumps up to the corner to MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO!

The fans are fired up with chants of “Let’s Go, Donny!” *clap clap, clap-clap-clap* Ralph is annoyed and he drags Donny up. Ralph cravats for the neck wrench but Donny endures. Fans rally up and it becomes the clap, clap, clap “Hey!” rhythm. Donny gets back in the groove and he moves side to side. On the “Hey!” he throws a body shot into Ralph! He goes left, clap, clap, clap, right hand! He goes right, clap, clap, clap, left hand! Ralph snapmares Donny and KICKS him in the back! Then Ralph runs in for a NECK SNAPPER! Donny clutches his neck, Ralph pushes him to a cover, TWO! Ralph tries another cover, TWO! And another, TWO!!

Ralph is frustrated and arguing the count but the ref says two is two! Donny bails out of the ring but Ralph pursues. Ralph CLUBS Donny on the back, follows him around the way, and he CLUBS Donny again. Fans boo and Ralph whips, but Donny reverses and Ralph hits railing! Donny storms up on Ralph, fires off hands, then UPPERCUTS Ralph! Ralph sputters and fans fire up. Donny stands Ralph up and runs with him to THROW him into more railing! Fans in the front row end up backing up as the railing moves! Donny hobbles over as the ring count starts. Donny drags Ralph up at 5 of 10 and puts him in the ring at 7.

Fans applaud as Donny wants to finish this in the ring. Donny drags Ralph up, SLAPS him in return for earlier, then hooks him up for a SIDE LEG SWEEP! Donny then sits Ralph up and hooks him up in a leg based half nelson! Ralph endures having one arm trapped, and Donny reaches for the other arm! Ralph moves around while fans rally and chant “TAP! TAP! TAP!” but Ralph reaches out, and his foot gets the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts and Donny lets go in frustration. Donny take a moment to check his neck, then he drags Ralph up. Donny whips, Ralph reverses, but Donny ducks ‘n’ dodges, only to run into a SUPERKICK!

Ralph reels Donny into a fireman’s carry, and he starts spinning! Around and around and around, fans count and Ralph goes all the way to 20! Ralph stops and sets Donny down but they’re both very, very dizzy! Ralph makes it to a corner and steadies himself while Donny staggers about. Donny turns around and Ralph runs in, BUSAIKU KNEE!! Ralph flounders to the cover, Ralph wins!!

Winner: Ralph, by pinfall (qualifies for the Hyrule Warriors match)

Fans are bummed, but Ralph did win fair and square! He may not be as cool as Donny, but will Ralph heat things up at Clash of Fates?

Odolwa VS The Great Boomerang!

The Sword of the Southern Swamp hails from Woodfall, and represents Termina in this inaugural event. Meanwhile, the masked Hero to Goriyas Everywhere is representing an entire culture! Who wins this culture clash to join the Clash of Fates?

Fans rally up for “BOOMERANG! BOOMERANG!” before the bell. Boomerang and Odolwa circle slowly, Odolwa firing himself up with slaps to his own arms and thighs. The two approach, tie up, and Odolwa knees low, then again, then CLUBS Boomerang on the back. Odolwa whips Boomerang to ropes, Boomerang ducks ‘n’ dodges then springboards to CROSSBODY! Boomerang bounces off the cover, keeps moving, but Odolwa crosses his arms to become a wall that runs Boomerang over! Boomerang kips up and fans fire up as the two masked men stare down! They reset and circle again while fans rally up.

The two tie up, Boomerang headlocks, shifts sides, gets an arm to wrench to a hammerlock, then he waistlocks to trap the arm. Boomerang SLAMS Odolwa for a mat return, then shifts to a headlock. Odolwa endures while Boomerang shifts his weight to pull back on the hold. Odolwa rolls the headlock to a cover, ONE, and Boomerang holds on. Odolwa fights up, throws body shots, powers out, crosses his arms again, but Boomerang slides under! Boomerang dropkicks Odolwa onto ropes! Boomerang runs the ropes, but Odolwa bails out before the Tiger Feint! Boomerang tells Odolwa it was that close!

Fans rally up for “BOOMERANG! BOOMERANG!” as he waits on Odolwa. Odolwa goes around the way but Boomerang keeps his eyes on him. Odolwa goes up the steel steps as the ring count starts, and the ref has Boomerang stay back. Odolwa steps inside at 7 of 10, and fans applaud as this continues. Boomerang and Odolwa approach, and Odolwa shoots in to get a leg! Boomerang hops and facelocks to block the takedown, so Odolwa picks Boomerang up. Odolwa RAMS Boomerang into a corner, RAMS him again, but the ref counts. Odolwa lets off, then BOOTS Boomerang! Boomerang sits down while the ref reprimands.

Fans boo but Odolwa goes to the far corner. He slaps his thighs again, lets out an “OOOWAH~!” then runs corner to corner! HIP ATTACK! Boomerang is dazed as Odolwa drags him out of the corner to a cover, TWO!! Boomerang survives getting rocked and fans fire up! Odolwa drags Boomerang to a drop zone and goes up the corner. Fans boo as Odolwa reaches the top, but Boomerang springs up after him! Boomerang brings Odolwa up for a SUPER STEINER! Fans fire up while both men are down! Boomerang drags himself to the ropes and then drags himself up the ropes. Odolwa stands and staggers, into a SUPERKICK!

Boomerang roars and fans fire up with him! Boomerang shakes out the last few cobwebs and runs the ropes. Boomerang hops on for a CODE RED! Cover, TWO!! Odolwa survives and Boomerang can’t believe it! Boomerang demands Odolwa get up while the fans fire up again. Odolwa stands, Boomerang SHOTGUNS Odolwa from behind to put him on ropes! Boomerang runs and TIGER- NO! Odolwa blocks the kick and he swings Boomerang around! Fans boo but some still count along, and Odolwa TOSSES Boomerang at ten! Odolwa roars while Boomerang flounders. Odola drags Boomerang up, ripcords, and ROCKS him with a right!

Boomerang wobbles and Odolwa turns him, but not for a neckbreaker, for a BLINDSIDE ROLLING ELBOW!! Boomerang goes down in a heap! Odolwa goes to push Boomerang over but the ref stops him! The ref checks on Boomerang, and then he calls for the bell! Odolwa wins!

Winner: Odolwa, by knockout (qualifies for the Hyrule Warriors match)

A knockout?! That’s the first win by knockout in HPW! The Sword of the Southern Swamp just cut down The Great Boomerang, but will this same brutality win him the battle royal?

Byrne Lokomo w/ Chancellor Cole VS Armos Knight!

Finally, the main event has arrived! And pulling into the station, accompanied by his diminutive manager with two top hats, is the man with the iron fist! But he’s up against a man with an iron body! Will this be a case of irresistible force VS immovable object? Or will one of them crumble in this head-on collision?

Fans taunt Byrne’s manager, Cole, with “Mayor Baby!” *clap clap, clap-clap-clap* Cole tells them all to shut up, he’s not a mayor nor a baby. The bell rings and Byrne circles with Armos. They tie up, and the bigger Armos shoves Byrne down! Byrne rolls back to get to his feet, rushes Armos, but Armos stands firm as Byrne tries to tackle him. Armos pries Byrne away from his leg with a facelock and he TOSSES Byrne away. Byrne rolls back to his feet again, and fans cheer the standoff. Byrne and Armos reset again, tie up, Byrne gets around to a waistlock, but Armos is too big to lift. Armos throws a back elbow, then whips Byrne into a corner.

Armos runs in at the corner and SPLASHES! Byrne sits down, Armos stands him back up, and Armos throws a big back elbow. The ref counts, Armos throws another back elbow, then lets off at 4. Armos whips Byrne corner to corner again, Armos runs in but Byrne avoids the splash this time. Byrne ENZIGURIS Armos and Armos leans against buckles. Byrne RAMS his shoulder into Armos’ back, and Cole cheers him on. The ref counts so Byrne lets off, to then CLUB Armos on the back with that metal left hand of his. Byrne then brings Armos around to whip him corner to corner. Armos rebounds off buckles and CLOBBERS Byrne!

Cole boos while fans cheers. Armos looms over Byrne and drags him up. Armos HEADBUTTS Byrne and Byrne staggers. Armos powers Byrne into a corner and clinches to OVERHEAD Belly2Belly suplex Byrne across the ring! Byrne tumbles and flounders and Cole is furious. Byrne stands up, Armos runs in and BOOTS him down! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and duel, “Let’s Go, Armos!” “Let’s Go, Byrne!” as Armos drags Byrne up and scoops him. Armos carries Byrne around, then throws him with a FALL AWAY SLAM! Byrne goes flying, then crashes and tumbles out of the ring! Cole freaks out and hurries to check on Byrne.

Armos goes to the apron but Cole tells him to stay back. The ref has Armos get back in the ring and wait. Byrne drags himself up with the ringside barriers as the ring count starts. Cole petitions against it but Byrne says it’s fine. Byrne stands up straight at 4 of 10, hobbles over at 6 and rolls in slowly at 7. Fans cheer that this is continuing, and Armos storms up on Byrne! Armos clinches again, but Byrne turns things around to BELLY2BELLY Armos! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up and so does Byrne! Byrne clamps on an IRON CLAW! He drags Armos up, but Armos CLUBS the arm! Armos CLUBS it again and is free, to then ROCK Byrne with an elbow!

Armos shoves Byrne to ropes, and pops him up for a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Armos gets the legs, drags Byrne to center, and turns him over for a SAND CRAB! Fans rally and duel as Byrne endures and Armos sits deep! Cole coaches Byrne and Byrne reaches out. Byrne crawls and claws his way over, almost literally with that left hand! Armos pulls back on the hold but Cole pushes the rope towards Byrne! The ref notices that and reprimands him! Cole backs off, and Armos drags Byrne away from ropes! Armos sits back again, really pulling on the legs! But Byrne endures, and he powers up! Byrne pushes himself off the mat, rolls through, and clamps on the IRON CLAW!

Armos lets Byrne out of the Sand Crab as Byrne drags him down! Byrne pushes Armos into the mat and it’s a cover! TWO as Armos gets an arm up, but Byrne shifts to get that arm for an ARMBAR! Fans fire up as Armos clasps hands! Armos pushes Byrne onto his shoulders for a cover, TWO, and Byrne keeps after the arm! Byrne pries the grip apart and BENDS fingers back! ARMBAR!! Armos endures, flails and reaches out while fans rally and duel! “TAP! TAP!” “NO! NO!” Cole shouts at Armos to give up, but Armos moves around and reaches out again, using his foot for the ROPEBREAK! Fans fire up while the ref counts, and Byrne lets go at 4.

Armos clutches his arm and gets to a corner. Byrne runs corner to corner to forearm smash! Byrne goes corner to corner again, but Armos elbows him away! But that was the bad arm! Armos clutches the elbow and shakes the arm out while Cole shouts at Byrne to keep going. Byrne storms back up but Armos boots his punch away. Armos HEADBUTTS Byrne again, then fireman’s carries, only for Byrne to fight free! IRON CLAW SLEEPER! Byrne smothers Armos while fans are thunderous! Armos is fading, he drops to a knee! The ref goes to check but Byrne spins Armos around, IRON CLAW SLAM! Cover, Byrne wins!

Winner: Byrne Lokomo, by pinfall (qualifies for the Hyrule Warriors match)

Cole celebrates while the fans are torn! Byrne derailed Armos and is now on track towards the Triforce Championship. Will Byrne prove he has both iron fist and iron will as he battles 32 other Hyrule Warriors?

My Thoughts:

I had some real fun coming up with these five matches and developing these characters in terms of in-ring. Now, obviously, Rod Wyler, Donny B. Kool and The Great Boomerang are true, 100% original characters do not steal, and I definitely like how Donny turned out. While I hyped up Donny with his own article, something makes sense to me that Ralph wins. But if you like Donny, don’t worry, he might show up again, we’ll just have to wait and see. As for our winners, they’re also going to be great additions to the roster, and look forward to them entering the Hyrule Warriors match at Clash of Fates 3.
