Roderick Strong speaks on his friendship with Adam Cole.
“14 years ago, my friendship with Adam started. It started as me mentoring him in the ROH locker room, and moved on to celebrating birthdays together, hang out with each other’s family. Adam was such a fun, caring and loving friend. No matter what I needed, he was there for me. And Adam, you know I was there for you, because I love you. And we’ve always said we’re not just friends, we’re brothers. And to hear you say that about someone else, it just tears me apart. Adam, I need you to realize something: I’ve always been here for you, and I’m still here for you. I’m not the one that’s changed, Adam, you’re the one that’s changed.
“Adam, when I needed you the most, you’ve let me down time and time again. And you know. You know how that makes me feel. You know how being alone makes me feel, you know what it does to me. But it’s fine, Adam. IT’s totally fine. Cuz I’m gonna go on to win the Grand Slam Tournament, then I’m gonna go on to beat Max, and then I’m gonna be the NEW AEW World Champion. But I still won’t be happy. Cuz I just want my friend back.” Will the Savior of the Backbreaker get what he wants here tonight?

Backstage interview with The Outcasts.
Renee Paquette is with Ruby Soho and the AEW Women’s World Champion, Saraya, and brings up what Toni Storm had to say. Toni was dismissive, and apparently forgetful about what happened at All Out. Ruby says that’s cute that Toni “forgot,” because Ruby hasn’t forgotten what her “friend” did to cost her the TBS title! Ruby remembers very clearly! Saraya calms Ruby down and says Toni’s “not with it,” she’s gone nuts! That’s no excuse! Saraya says she went by the makeup department earlier, and apparently Toni was using mayonnaise for a face cleanser. She’s lost her mind! So they gotta just smack some sense into her, maybe shove the shoe where the sun don’t shine.
Renee pivots the conversation to Grand Slam and Arthur Ashe Stadium, where Saraya will be defending her title, how is she feeling about that? Saraya feels fantastic. She just wants to say Renee is so much prettier than Lexi Nair. The Outcasts can’t stand Lexi, she’s such a pot stirrer. But anyway, yes, Saraya’s “re-debut” in Arthur Ashe, because that is where she first joined AEW. This time around, Saraya walks in and walks out AEW Women’s World Champion. Saraya & Ruby head out, Renee wishes them luck, will the Outcasts get through this with or without Toni Storm?
Tony Schiavone has a sit-down interview with both Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston.
With the ROH World Champion to his right and NJPW Strong Openweight Champion to his left, Schiavone thanks them both for their time. This has been an issue that has been a very bitter one both in AEW and ROH. Claudio, what is going on between you two? Weren’t you two once very, very close? Claudio says that’s more a question for Eddie to answer, because honestly, Claudio doesn’t even remember. Eddie says of course, play that card, like he’s better than Eddie or something. This is what Eddie was talking about, with being judgmental and crap that Claudio and even Bryan Danielson pull.
Eddie says Claudio knows what he did: he left the independents without doing business with Eddie, who considered him a friend, and then he goes off to “the Land of Make Believe.” Claudio says sometimes the right choice is not the easy choice. Oh c’mon, don’t give Eddie that! You know what Eddie’s gone through! They lived together, Claudio met Eddie’s parents, so he knows what Eddie went through! Eddie dares Claudio to say something about that. Claudio says he is what Eddie’s parents wish Eddie was like. Eddie says since Claudio’s so confident, then in New York, “embarrass” Eddie again, with Eddie’s family watching, for THE ROH World Championship!
Actually, even better! Eddie will sell some tickets right here! He will put HIS NJPW Strong Openweight Championship on the line! A title that means so much to Eddie, one he would die for. Claudio says okay, but under one condition: Eddie still owes Claudio a handshake and the respect that comes with it. Oh, so Claudio does remember? Because of that one missed handshake 15 years ago! Claudio says that at Arthur Ashe, Eddie will shake Claudio’s hand and tell him he respects him. Because Claudio vows to only lose the ROH title to a better man than him. That has never been Eddie Kingston, and it never will be Eddie Kingston.
Claudio leaves, and Eddie says there you go. Start selling tickets. And so, it will be Winner takes all, with respect on the side! Who walks out of Grand Slam with two titles on their arms?
Six Man Tag: Bullet Club Gold VS Gravity, Aerostar y Dios Del Inframundo!
This was meant to be an 8 Man Tag, but that’s not Jay White, that’s just #Cardblade. Well, wherever the Switchblade is watching this from, will his boys make him proud? Or will this now trio of luchadores use the powers of space, time and the supernatural to bring down the Bang Bang Gang?

Gravity KICKS Juice, Aero stomps him, fans fire up as these two fire off kicks! Gravity CHOPS, Aero0 CHOPS, and then they DOUBLE DOUBLE CHOP! Or, quadruple. They double whip, but Austin saves Juice! Colten slides in to CLOBBER them from behind! Juice rains down fists on Gravity then tells the ref to back off. Rock Hard Juice puts Gravity in the corner, the fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS~!” more and Collision goes to break.
Juice stomps away on Gravity, the ref counts and Juice lets off, then tags to Austin. Austin stomps away on Gravity now, but lets off to soak up heat from the fans. Austin CHOKES Gravity, lets off as the ref reprimands, and Austin tags in Colten. The Gunns keep Gravity from his corner, and Colten suplexes high and hard! Cover, TWO! Colten keeps Gravity from his corner, bumps him off buckles, then stomps away! Colten then DECKS Gravity with a haymaker! Colten drags Gravity up, tags Juice, and Colten scoops Gravity to SLAM him! Juice hits a SENTON! Juice grins and he brings Gravity around, but Gravity throws hands as Collision goes to break!
Collision returns and Juice has Gravity down in a chinlock. Gravity endures, fans rally, and Gravity fights up to his feet. Gravity throws elbows, then jumps to hit a BIG JAWBREAKER! Hot tag to Colten, tag to Austin, and the Gunns intercept Gravity! They whip him away, Austin runs in, but Gravity BOOTS him down! Gravity dodges Colten, hot tag to Aerostar! Aero goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK! Aero dodges Colten, runs him over, then dodges Juice to DROPKICK him down! Fans fire up as Aero goes up, springboards and somersaults, to STUNNER! Cover, TWO! Tag to Dios and he brings Austin up to whip.
Austin whips Dios and hits a QUICK DRAW! Austin taunts Dios, but Aero runs in. Austin sends him away, Colten gets him for a FULL NELSON SLAM! Gravity CHOPS Austin, CHOPS Colten, repeat! Gravity fires up, runs, but into the 3:10 TO YUMA!! Tag to Juice and the Gunns set Dios up. They feed him to the LEG LARIAT! Juice then gets Dios up, JUICE IS LOOSE!! Cover, BCG wins!

Andrade is watching, a bit torn on this. But while BCG heads after FTR, again, will El Idolo have plans of his own in the works?
CJ Perry speaks.
“I was the first casualty on your righteous road. You left me! You said you weren’t going to return until you got gold. Miro, when you lost the TNT Championship, you lost yourself. Last week at All Out, all I wanted to do was surprise you and prove I have your back in helping you become champion again. God, you are so stubborn. Not the good stubborn, the bad stubborn. The more I think of it, you have forsaken your God, your gold, and your hot, flexible wife. Oh, Miro. Do you really wanna go down this path? I respect that. But I’m gonna have to go down mine. I’m torn. I’m so torn. I am so torn!
“I sat on the sidelines for two YEARS, tearing myself down, breaking myself apart, and asking myself, ‘Do I have what it takes?’ And every fiber of my being is YELLING that. Don’t leave ’til you find out. Once was the coldest manager in all of wrestling, and I think wanna do it again.” Will Miro’s wife get through to him one way or another?
AEW presents a special message.
“Is this really what it’s all about? Trading in your hard-earned money to wear a catchphrase or someone else’s face? Don’t you wish you could support something with meaning? With purpose?” The Dark Order steps in! John Silver says your support means something to them. Alex Reynolds says you mean something to them. Evil Uno asks, “You wouldn’t want to be supporting the bad guys now, would you?” Be good, like them. They’re waiting for you to #JoinDarkOrder.
The Acclaimed speaks.
Billy Gunn welcomes us and says they are here to let us know they’ve been Trios Champions for THIRTEEN DAYS! And they’re here on Collision to announce the start of their world tour. It technically began in London where they won these titles. But then they went to Chicago to unveil these new belts. And they also had two successful title defends and hung out with Dennis Rodmen! That makes them really cool! The Acclaimed World Tour is heading to New York, where Arthur Ashe becomes the House of Ass, and they return to the building where The Acclaimed became AEW World Tag Team Champions for the first time.
Now they return as AEW World Trios Champions, ready to bring the biggest scissor party to a city near you! Not only will they go to New York City, they’ll go to North Carolina, to Oklahoma, to North Dakota, to Washington DC to take over the wrestling world! Now scissor me, Daddy Ass~!

Schiavone is with Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler and says they’ve faced all comers to still be AEW World Tag Team Champions. Cash wants to run that list down: The Briscoe trilogy; The Gunns; Jarrett & Lethal; Jay White & Juice Robinson in a 58 minute classic; and arguably their biggest match, them and the Young Bucks at All In London! So now the question is, who is next? Dax says along with that, he doesn’t feel FTR likes being off Collision. This week, they need to be in the main event as the best tag team in the world, but to be the best of all time, they need more contenders.
That is why Dax is putting forward the “FTR World Tag Team Challenge.” Starting next week, any young tag team that wants to step up and prove their worth to FTR and AEW, here you go. Roddy hauls Darby up, END OF- NO, Darby slips free to SCORPION DEATH DROP!! Fox and Nick both coach Darby up now, The Kingdom coaches Roddy, and fans rally up. Darby crawls towards a corner, but Taven gets on the apron! Nick YANKS him down, sets him up for Fox, and Fox goes up the corner to MOONSAULT, but Mike shoves Nick in the way!! Fox takes Nick out by accident but Darby still COFFIN DROPS, but onto Roddy’s knees!! END OF HEARTACHE!! Cover, RODDY WINS!
Winner: Roderick Strong, by pinfall (advances to the finals)
The Kingdom come through as insurance and they put the neck brace back on Roddy. Roddy is now heading to Dynamite’s finals, but who will it be he faces? Meanwhile, Nick and Fox get in the ring to check Darby, but Nick shoves Fox! Nick asks what the hell, and Fox defends it was an accident. Nick doesn’t wanna hear it, but the ref keeps these two from fighting it out. What is Darby to do with friends fighting and enemies all around?
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs speaks.
“Every man has his limit. I took the Redeemer to the limit. I proved I pray to no man, but I look to this book for guidance. Last Sunday, we saw who stood tall. We saw who the real winner was. But this book, this chapter is still unwritten. And everyone will fall to the Book of Hobbs.”
Backstage interview with Keith Lee.
Lexi Nair is with the Limitless One and says Keith has had plenty of success in the AEW Tag Division. He’s even a former tag team champion. But from the sound of it, he wants to do things solo? Yes, as he proved with his first match on Collision not too long ago. However, there are certain individuals that are avoiding him anyway, so if he has to get this done, he’s here with the… Colliders? Now that Keith is here, understand that Keith IS The Collision! He is the one! So his advice to you: run. Will the Limitless One soon have All Elite Wrestling in his hands?
The Righteous speak.
Vincent snaps his fingers and says, “Hello, AEW.” Dutch says, “Here we are! Ol’ Dutch ‘n’ Vincent. And now, Mr. Grayson.” Dutch says we’ve all got the power in our hands to hurt. But there are those too afraid to use it. Those who are not afraid control life itself. Stu says take what you need for the pain, but Vincent says this is brand new. If anyone wants to do something about it, then come on then! If not, just get off the road. You dig what he’s saying, man?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
And he welcomes the man with a big win last Sunday at All Out, it’s the American Dragon, Bryan Danielson! Fans fire up as Bryan makes his way to the ring, all patched up from that brutal Strap Match with Ricky Starks. Schiavone says Bryan won and put Starks completely out. So the question is, what is next? Bryan says, “What’s next? So, I told my daughter that once she turns seven, I would start finishing up on my career.” Fans are disappointed, but Bryan says his daughter is six. He keeps his promises, especially to those he loves. So guess what? Time is running out. Fans chant “NO! NO! NO!”
But Bryan says with all that said, he will NOT go gently into that good night! If you think he will, then you don’t know who the hell he is! Bryan is Odysseus and he is gonna fight that cyclops! You’ll have to tie him to the mast to resist the siren song, and then he will kick EVERYBODY’S head in! Fans fire up for that! Because if this is Bryan’s last year, then this will be Bryan’s greatest year ever! Fans love the sound of that! And guess what? Bryan is calling his shots! Right now, his next shot is… October 1st! Seattle, Washington! AEW WrestleDream! And he wants to fight the guy who calls himself the best technical wrestler in the world: ZACK SABRE JR!!
Fans fire up even more, but wait! Ricky Starks walks out, Big Bill by his side. The fans boo but Starks says he had the same reaction when he arrived in Ohio. So it is fitting that Bryan is on Collision while Starks is stuck in catering again. This is what he was talking about! The attention always falls on the other person. It’s why he whooped Steamboat in the first place! To get some attention around here! And after Sunday, he thinks he has everyone’s attention! He put everyone on notice! Starks says after Sunday, he immortalized himself as THE MAN, THE FACE of Collision, as THE PERSON who will do things that Bryan couldn’t have done in his entire career!
Starks talked a lot about how he was given bread crumbs and he wanted a full course meal. He realized that when Bryan did NOT tap Starks out, when Starks woke up in a crimson mask and looked at the blood wash off and go down the drain, Starks realized that he went from hungry to being greedy. Starks will take, take, take, and take, because it is in his nature and it is what he does! Bryan tells Starks that he wishes Starks would’ve been patient. Because Bryan wasn’t done yet. Bryan was in there, he saw what Starks did, he saw what is in Starks! And y’know what? Bryan approves.
Bryan knows the BCC says that if you wanna be with ’em, you gotta bleed with ’em. Bryan has a shirt ready, but Big Bill DECKS him first!! Starks is a little surprised, and he gets Bill off Bryan! Then Starks fires off on Bryan! Bill grins and Starks rains down shots, but here comes the BCC! Moxley jumps on Bill’s back! Fans fire up but Bill TOSSES Moxley and BOOTS him down! Bill beats up on Mox, Starks keeps on Bryan, and CHOKES him with that BCC shirt! Fans boo as Starks makes Bryan pass out! “YOU STILL SUCK! YOU STILL SUCK!” Starks doesn’t care what anyone says, he just strikes his pose!
The Absolute then mocks the old “YES! YES! YES!” stuff, then he and Bill take their leave. Will they regret rejecting and angering two stone cold killers?
BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!
After that encounter between Starks & Bill with Bryan & Moxley, Moxley is putting his International Championship up against Big Bill! Will Moxley tear down the giant and humble him?
BREAKING NEWS for next week’s Collision!
The open challenge was issued by FTR, and there’s already an answer! Beefy ‘n’ bulky, jacked ‘n’ juicy, The Iron Savages want a taste of gold! Will Bronson & Boulder bring down the Top Guys? Or will Dax & Cash manage to bring down their physically biggest opponents yet?
Backstage interview with Big Bill.
As we just heard, Bill gets a title shot for Jon Moxley’s International Champion! “Oh, Jon Moxley~! He’s the toughest guy we’ve got.” Bill rolls his eyes and says that he just went out there and beat Moxley’s ass! So Wednesday night, in Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati, Bill is gonna beat Moxley’s ass again to become the NEW International Champion. But then The Lucha Brothers walk over and Fenix tells Bill to relax. Moxley is Fenix’s to break. Just because Bill is big doesn’t mean he skips the line. Fenix has a score to settle, HE will be the next champion. Okay, back of the line. Worry about your brother since he’s gonna get manhandled by Samoa Joe.
Abrahantes says that is true. They have bigger things to deal with. But will Bill be right about his title match with Moxley? Or will Moxley make it past the human skyscraper to take on the firebird?
AEW Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament, Semifinals: Samoa Joe VS Penta El Zero Miedo w/ Alex Abrahantes!
We know Roderick Strong is waiting, but given the history between them, will he want the King of Wrestling Television to meet him on Wednesday? Or will neither be given the choice when Penta unleashes the power of Cero Miedo?
The bell rings and fans fire up as Penta circles with Joe. The two tie up, Joe shoves Penta away, but Penta comes right back to get in Joe’s face. Penta shoves Joe, Joe shoves Penta, so Penta says, “Listen. CERO! MIEDO!” Penta pie faces Joe, Joe HEADBUTTS Penta! Joe runs, but Penta SUPERKICKS! Penta says it again “CERO! And GAMANGIRI! And GAMANGIRI! Joe falls, Penta goes up, and fans join in saying “CERO! MIEDO!” Penta leaps but Joe moves to avoid the diving stomps! Joe then runs in to CLOBBER Penta! Cover, TWO!

And so the match is set! Roddy VS Joe! Joe hurt Roddy’s neck and sent him on this path, will Joe break what is left of Roddy to then go after MJF? Or will the Savior of the Backbreaker settle one score before settling another?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here, but it just felt a bit talky this time, and not all of it was even really needed. That vignette for The Righteous was literally the same one from the August 18th Rampage. Instead of letting us know The Righteous is coming to AEW, have them show up. But we still got good promos, like Saraya & Soho coming to terms with Storm losing her marbles, CJ Perry and Will Hobbs each having their own thing to say about the match with Miro on Sunday, and the sit-down interview with Claudio and Eddie. I love that we’re getting Winner Takes All between Claudio and Eddie, and that match could go either way. And I just hope CJ isn’t going to be Hobbs’ manager, too many parallels back to the Rusev-Lana-Lashley story in WWE…
Great action with the midcard titles on the line again. Moxley of course beats Action, and I like we’re getting some story blending with him, Bryan, Starks, Bill, and so on. Moxley VS Bill will be good stuff, and I would think Moxley wins so he can have this feud with Fenix. Bryan letting us all know he has no more than a year left in his wrestling career was a great promo, and great to see that after it didn’t happen for Forbidden Door either year, WrestleDream is going to give us the dream match of Bryan VS ZSJ. I also like that Bryan was actually considering of expanding BCC to add Starks, but of course Starks turns him down. Starks wants to be his own man, not one in a crowd. Bryan VS Starks round 2 can be a big part of like Full Gear, or even sooner as part of a build to WrestleDream.
Kris VS Robyn Renegade was alright, though I don’t know why they kept the opponent a secret when it’s only Robyn Renegade. Or is it really more they had absolutely no idea who was facing Kris until now? But either way, Kris was still going to win, and I suppose Jade Cargill was still going to make her way back to AEW. For Kris’ sake, I hope she retains against Jade. Jade’s great at character work and good enough in the ring for being She-Hulk in real-life, but I just don’t think the TBS Championship needs another reign of terror from Jade. Maybe Jade will start poking around the top title after we get past the Outcasts’ story.
Great Six Man Tag, though they didn’t acknowledge this was downgraded from an 8 Man, so I hope Jay White and/or Metalik are both okay. That said, great match, but of course the Bang Bang Gang wins out since they’re on a roll. And while BCG won against FTR, they might be aiming for Trios titles eventually. Good promos from Acclaimed and Dark Order, I hope we also get that as a trios championship feud since they made a point of having an Acclaimed necklace as the merchandise they focused on.
Great stuff out of the contender’s tournament, too, with Christian & Luchasaurus of course being part of why Darby didn’t win tonight. But at the same time, they did a good job in playing up the tension between Nick and Fox. And just as I said last night on Rampage, I just felt Joe VS Strong was going to be the finals. There is history there between them, as well as each part of the Better Than You Baybay brochachos. One way or another, Cole is going to get involved because Roddy basically won’t give him a choice. AEW can’t go wrong with who wins the finals, but I feel like if they want to keep the story with MJF and Cole going, they can give us MJF VS Joe for the world title, then Cole VS Roddy separately in a grudge match of sorts.
My Score: 8.8/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!
Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Lio Rush & Action Andretti VS Myles Hawkins & Goldy!
The dysfunction in Top Flight Airlines led to The Bad Child & The Sight to See winning over Darius & Dante Martin, meaning they’re next up to face Private Party. Will this be little more than a tune-up for Lio & Action?

The refs keep this from getting any more physical, but will Lio & Action take those belts from Quen & Zay soon enough?
Backstage interview with Harley Cameron.
Renee is now with the “multifaceted” Harley and notes she’s in action against Willow Nightingale tonight. Harley says yes, she IS multifaceted. She wants us to appreciate ALL her facets! Renee says yes, but she has yet to earn a singles win in AEW. Fine, ruin her fun. But then Harley asks if some person off camera is gonna say anything or just stand there. In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…
Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. Ford will watch Harley’s back and Harley will watch Ford’s. Wait, is something on Harley’s back? No, Harley… Just good luck. FEEL THE WRATH OF HARLEY CAMERON! No, she was being nice to you, Harley. Right, don’t feel the wrath of Harley Cameron. There is nothing on your back, Harley, stop scratching. Wait! W-What? Nothing, sorry. But will Harley be feeling Willow’s wrath instead?

AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Brody King VS Komander!
While the rest of Gold League stands at 6 points, these two men are struggling to keep up. Will the King of Death join that traffic jam at the front of the block? Or will the Commander of the Skies be a spoiler for Christmas?
The bell rings and we’re on the clock. Brody and Komander circle while the fans bark it up. There are fans who sing “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~” for Komander as the two tie up. Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)
If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy and Jay White.
Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed and The Switchblade, and says that ahead of their main event Trios match where they team up with Hangman Page, they also must be thinking about their Fatal 4 Way match for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End. Are they more focused on the Death Riders tonight? Or more on each other? Cassidy’s about to speak when White asks Renee to bring the mic over to him. White says Cassidy already gave them a hell of a pep talk in the locker room so he’s all talked out. Where is our focus? Is it on the Death Riders tonight? Is it on each other? Is it on Worlds End?
Make no mistake, Renee, and Mr. Cassidy, White’s focus is on the AEW World Championship. But White knows that they have to make it to Worlds End, so that means relying on people he usually doesn’t rely on. He has no Bang Bang Gang, so that makes he has to rely on the likes of… Orange. And on the likes of Hangman Adam Page. But no, no, no, he is not so stupid to rely on that guy, because he’s only good at one thing: Letting himself and everyone around him down time and time again! So if there is one man they do not need on this team, it is H- HEY! There he is! Hangman Page walks into the room and White does a 180 on his attitude.
Hangman tells White to shut his mouth and listen up. Tonight, Moxley is not White’s nor is he Cassidy’s. Tonight, the champion belongs to Hangman! The Cowboy heads out and White says, “Aye, aye, captain! At least you brought your black jacket so we’re matching tonight! C’mon, partner!” White heads after Hangman, and Cassidy sighs as he puts on his sunglasses. Can the Good, the Bad & the Freshly Squeezed make it past Moxley and his Death Riders? Or will The Maniac, The Decoder & The Bastard use this dysfunction to tear them down?
Darby Allin speaks.
“Darby Allin, Will Ospreay. It’s showtime.”
Will Ospreay speaks.
“Oi, oi, Washington, DC! You’re in for a treat tonight, for the C2 rolls on, and you get to witness an elite dream match as the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, goes one-on-one with Darby Allin. And while I am grateful for saving my neck last week, sir, don’t let that stand in the way because it’s time for warfare, bruv. And no one fairs better in warfare than the Assassin. So allow me to show you why my name is Will Ospreay, and why I am on another level.” Both men need this win if they want to head for Worlds End, who will be one step closer to those semifinals?
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Anna Jay!
The CEO is still #TwoBeltsMone after holding onto the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship through NJPW Strong Style Evolved. FTR speaks.
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler were at home in Asheville, North Carolina, and Cash says it has been a few days since what happened to them on Collision. And it was over nothing. FTR said they had no problems with the Death Riders. They may not agree with the Death Riders’ methods, and they don’t disagree with the message. AEW does need to change for the better, some people need to be forced into that change. But FTR stopped them from poisoning a man! They weren’t going to sit back and watch them pour cleaning solution down a human being’s throat. That is all they did. And yet that gets them blindfolded, dragged outside, and the crap kicked out of them, left for dead in the cold…
As they were lying on the concrete, Dax was thinking, “What is a life after wrestling? Is there a life after wrestling for FTR?” They built their whole lives around this one thing, so what else is there for them to do? They got off the phone with Doc Sampson just before filming this. Doc says he won’t medically cleared them for the rest of the year. So from now until January 1st, Death Riders better not sleep, because FTR will show up at their doorstep. That won’t be good for them or their families. But on January 1st, Asheville, NC, FTR will be there. They will be in that ring, they will be cleared, and they will fight the Death Riders.
By the way, they won’t be coming alone. #TopGuysOut. Who could Dax & Cash be hinting at as allies against Moxley and his minions?
MJF is here!
Washington, DC is not all that happy to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman going to the ring with a mic in hand, even if he’s dressed in his Hannukah suit. MJF has them cut his music, and he takes a moment to hear all the booing. “Oh, you don’t like me, huh, guys? Good thing I don’t care about the opinions of a bunch of disgustings from DC. I mean, if I did care about your opinion, I wouldn’t have signed on to be an AEW wrestler, I would’ve signed on to become a part of your whack-ass Washington Wizards. Oh, it’s my fault they suck? That’s my fault? I’m sorry.” Some fans actually chant, “Wizards Suck! Wizards Suck!”
MJF says let’s face it, guys. He’s no Scrooge. For crying out loud, it’s the most wonderful time~ of the year~! MJF says pretty soon, the most important holiday, which is part of the most important religion, is coming up. And yes, you guessed it, it’s Hannukah. And if you don’t celebrate that, well sorry, Santa is not real and MJF is not sorry for saying it. The fans chant for “SANTA! SANTA!” which confuses MJF. Santa didn’t give them a lump of coal, it was because their parents were too poor to get real gifts. So everyone just pipe down a bit, okay? The fans boo but MJF continues.
MJF says Hannukah is all about giving, so he is feeling rather philanthropic. Not that anyone in this crowd knows what that means. MJF is about to get a bit emotional, but he wants to talk about a fundraiser he has started. Sorry, he might cry, give him a second. MJF gets fake tears going as he asks for the sad music. The sad piano music plays, and MJF looks into the camera. “Picture this. There’s a small child sitting across from you. It is starving, it needs nourishment, it needs food. Now picture that that small child is this baybay.” A clearly doctored photo of Adam Cole appears on screen, making him look very scrawny.
MJF knows it is hard to look at but don’t avert your eyes. Cut the music, please. The music stops and MJF says right now, if you wanna help the “freakishly small, yellow baybay, all you have to do is scan the QR code you see on your screen so you can buy the Worlds End PPV this Saturday, December 28th. Guys, I’m talking, would you please shut the hell up? Unreal! To think I’m opening up to you hear. And if you buy that PPV, a part of your money will go towards my foundation to help put this small yellow child out of his misery. And for that, and for the fact that I’m better than you, you can thank me later!”
MJF drops the mic but Cole is on the tron! Adam Cole says look! Now he’s the one on the big screen while MJF is the one in the ring, looking like an idiot. As we all know, it is Cole VS MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Worlds End. And Cole wants to give MJF a heads up. He just had a meeting with Tony Khan. And because Cole knows how badly MJF wants to get his hands on his diamond ring. And if MJF wants to grab that ring before the bell rings, he’ll have to earn it. There are two men who will be ringside to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Kingdom step in, and Adam Cole says MJF will have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide.
MJF is a dead man and Cole will finally finish this at Worlds End! BOOM. Oh, wait, hold on. Cole must be forgetting something. There was one more thing he wanted to say. Oh, right! Max, is Cole kicking your ass yet? MJF is confused, but surprise! Adam Cole is already in the ring! That video is prerecorded! MJF turns around, and Cole DECKS him! The fans fire up as Cole rains down fists on MJF! MJF pushes Cole away but Cole keeps him from getting away! SUPERKICK! MJF is down, but Cole drags him up and goes to a corner! The fans fire up for the PANAMA- NO, MJF scrambles out of the ring!
MJF gets away by the skin of his teeth, but will Cole kick those teeth down his throat and finally end the Dynamite Diamond Win Streak?
Jamie Hayter speaks.
“You can’t fight what you don’t see. But I see you exactly for what you are, Julia: a coward. Last Saturday on Collision, you decided to finally show up. But was it face to face? No, ma’am. It was when I was beat, when I was tired, and you used your tricks to attack me from behind. That’s a sneaky, classless move, Julia. Message sent. I know you’re listening, Julia, so here’s my message to you. Fight for the Fallen. I’m gonna serve you a dish best served cold. I’m gonna drop you on your head, and I’m gonna serve you up a heavy dose of Hayterade. See you then, mate.” Will Hayter kick off the New Year by crushing Julia Hart?
Hook & Katsuyori Shibata VS Christian Cage & Nick Wayne w/ The Patriarchy!
The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil wants revenge for what The Patriarchy did to his father, Taz, and this could be a start. Will The Wrestler’s return to AEW be just the thing? Or will Captain Charisma and The Prodigy look to #SendHook home emptyhanded?
AEW returns as Hook makes his entrance, Shibata by his side. The teams sort out and after Christian hugs his “son,” Nick starts against Hook. The bell rings and the fans rally up behind Hook. Hook and Nick tie up, and Nick goes for the bad arm! Nick wrenches, hammerlocks, then headlocks for a takeover. Nick grinds forearms into Hook’s face but Hook gets up. Hook drop steps to the waistlock, then shifts to a headlock, then to a hammerlock, then another headlock and takeover! Nick headscissors, Hook kips free, then Hook avoids the kick! Nick taunts Hook that it was that close, and the two back down.

Shibata finds an angle and he powers Christian to a corner. The ref counts, Shibata lets off slowly, and the fans cheer. Christian storms up, they tie up again, and Shibata clinches. Christian goes to the ropes, Shibata lets off clean, and the fans rally up. Shibata and Christian tie up again, Shibata slips around to a waistlock, then cravats to snapmare Christian down. Shibata sits Christian up, but Christian avoids the Penalty Kick! The fans cheer as Shibata stares Christian down.
The two go again, Christians hoots around and hooks arms! Shibata powers out and the two go again. They feel things out, and Christian kicks low! Then he SLAPS Shibata! Christian runs, but Shibata DECKS him! The fans fire up and Shibata CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS again! And again! Christian falls, Shibata covers, TWO! Christian crawls but Shibata CLUBS him. Shibata tags Hook but Christian gets away to tag Nick! Nick storms up but Hook drop steps to waistlock! Nick flails, throws elbows, and then TOSSES Hook out! Hook lands on the apron, and he DUMPS Nick out! Christian runs up but Hook ROCKS Christian first!
Shibata storms in and UPPERCUTS Christian! Hook RAMS Christian, then SHOVELS him up and out onto Nick! The fans fire up as the Patriarchy is down! Hook tags Shibata and Shibata storms over. Christian whispers to Nick and they go to the ring slowly. Shibata waits on someone to get in, and even sits down cross legged! Christian storms up but Shibata stands. Shibata is on guard as both Christian and Nick reach ropes. Shibata tags to Hook when Nick steps back in, and they circle again. Nick kicks but Hook blocks! Hook spins Nick around, REDRUM! BREAKING NEWS for Christmas Collision!
As a reminder, it will be LIVE coast to coast on TNT this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern or whenever NCAA College Football Playoff coverage ends. That said, Adam Cole may have gotten one over on MJF tonight, but he and MJF are going to be face to face live and in person for final words before Worlds End. Plus, the Continental Classic will keep things cheery and bright as Darby Allin will face Claudio Castagnoli, and Will Ospreay will face Ricochet! Rivals all face off, who will look to take over Gold League? And in Blue League, Mark Briscoe battles The Beast Mortos while Daniel Garcia faces Shelton Benjamin! Will the Sussex County Chicken survive the menacing minotaur? Will Red Death live up to the Standard of Excellence?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“I was once known as The King of the World. And everybody wants to rule the world. But every king needs a throne from which to rule. A castle, a capital, a city. And there is no better perch, no greater vantage point from which to rule the world than New York City. From the urine soaked sidewalks of Broadway to the tear-filled potholes of Jamaica Queens. From the brownstones of Tribeca to the poshest penthouses of Spanish Harlem. From the lowliest of subjects, the ubiquitous rats, to the prominent powerbrokers and popstars, paparazzi in their wake, all have anointed me, Chris Jericho, the King of New York! And I’ll be damned if I let anyone take my crown.”
The Learning Tree thinks highly of himself as always, but he better take Final Battle seriously! Friday, December 20th, Jericho defends the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cardona, who is #AlwayZReady! Will “The Complete” Cardona take away the Nueve’s title?
Mariah May speaks.
“Thunder Rosa. When you were working as a social worker, why did you wanna become a wrestler? Was it to make your family proud? Cute. A hero is just a dreamer who doesn’t realize they’re dreaming. I’m no hero. I spent my entire career just looking out for me, and I’d say it’s served me pretty well. How dare you say this Women’s Division is alive and well when I’ve eclipsed everyone here, just by being me. And if I was here four years ago, you wouldn’t have even been hired. So let’s do your little Tijuana Street Fight so you can go on about your heritage and your culture, and please bring your father. I would love to end two generations in one night.
“And Papa Rosa? Does being a failure run in the family? I won’t be bringing my father to Worlds End. I don’t want him to se what I’m going to do.” The Glamour has sent her ultimatum, but will she regret running her mouth?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone says that later tonight, we will see Will Ospreay VS Darby Allin in the Continental Classic. But Ospreay has his work cut out for him as live this Saturday on Christmas Collision, in the Hammerstein Ballroom, he will face this man! Let’s welcome in Ricochet! The fans fire up as The One & Only makes his way to the ring. Schiavone congratulates Ricochet on his six points so far, and says he could advance to Orlando, Florida. But there has been perhaps a change in attitude and demeanor lately. Ricochet says, “But didn’t it look real good on me, though?” Schiavone says sure, but wait! Here comes the Hurt Business!
Ricochet is a little surprised, and maybe a little worried. Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin all go to the ring and fans sing along, “We Hurt People! We Hurt People!” Ricochet nervously asks what’s up, and MVP brings him in close. Ricochet says everyone looks great. They collectively look great! But honestly, he’s happy they’re here. He wants to ask them if they saw how he beat the brakes off of Komander. MVP says yeah, they saw that. Then did they see him handle Brody King? Yeah, they saw that. And Ricochet has six points! Ricochet figures after tonight, Shelton might have six points, and they could face each other in the near future.
Ricochet says they could keep this business on lock. Wow, you don’t say? Absolutely! Facts! Because the last two guys Ricochet has to face, they’re facing each other tonight, Ospreay and Darby. So Ricochet is going to watch that. And then Saturday, he has Ospreay. Ospreay will see that different side of Ricochet, you feeling him? MVP says yeah, he’s feeling it. Does Ricochet still have the business card? MVP wants to see it. Ricochet brings the card out, and Lashley grabs him by the neck! MVP takes the card, and he RIPS IT UP! MVP has revoked his invitation, and he says nobody likes a kiss ass. Lashley lets Ricochet go, straightens the suit out, and pats Ricochet on the back.
Ricochet leaves the ring, and he says they can talk about this later. MVP tells Shelton that he’s got business to handle, so go hurt somebody. Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee is now with The One & Only and asks about that interaction in the ring. It seems business with The Hurt Syndicate is off the table. Ricochet says honestly, he doesn’t know. They gave him the card, he thought he was doing what they wanted, but… Ricochet is a bit frazzled but he says that we’re not going to worry about that. The Syndicate can do what they do. But for Ricochet, he’ll worry about the Continental Classic. Like he said out there, “ya boy’s already got 6 points.” But on Saturday, he steps into the ring with one of the main reasons he even came to AEW, and that is Will Ospreay.
Ricochet says it is funny. He didn’t come to AEW just to step into the ring with Ospreay. He came here to shut the world up and prove he can beat Will Ospreay. And so, as he said, he is going to have his eyes glued to this next match, HAHA~~! But then he turns around and Swerve Strickland is there, as is Prince Nana sipping his coffee. Nana nods and Swerve says, “What up, turd?” Oh, cute, call him a turd. The fans are loudly chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve says when Ricochet first showed up, it was only a matter of time before the real Rico- No, the real Trevor showed himself.
Oh, going there, huh? Yeah. But Swerve says in the 14 years of knowing Ricochet, Swerve thought Ricochet had changed. But turns out, no, that’s still the same ol’ Trevor: a follower. Hate to tell you, Ricochet, but that won’t work here. Because AEW is whose house? Swerve’s House! Ricochet laughs that off and says he was wondering how long it’d take for him to hear that stuff. He’s glad Swerve brought that. But he also knows the real Swerve. And Swerve didn’t win the C2, now did he? So Ricochet knows it will eat Swerve up when Ricochet does. HAHA~! Ricochet leaves and Swerve says that’s why Ricochet’s still bald.
But win, lose or draw for Ricochet, will Swerve be waiting on the other side of Worlds End with the Killshot?

Yuta sends Cassidy into Hangman! Yuta suplexes, but into STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! Hangman slingshots, Cassidy dodges, BUCKSHOT hits Yuta!! And probably not on purpose… Pac returns, Hangman dodges, White gets Pac with BLADERUNNER!! White and Hangman argue about this, but Cassidy sighs. Moxley rolls Cassidy up! Holding the waistband!! DEATH RIDERS WIN!!
Winners: Death Riders, by pinfall
White and Hangman were so busy with each other, they didn’t save their teammate! Cassidy gets pissed with both of them, but now it doesn’t matter because Worlds End is every man for themselves. But wait, the Death Riders are flanking the ring, and Moxley has a chair! Cassidy, White & Hangman realize this, and now they stand back-to-back-to-back. They finally fight as a united front as they throw hands on the Death Riders! Cassidy DECKS Pac, White DECKS Claudio and Hangman DECKS Moxley! The Death Riders and their enemies brawl on the outside, but Marina makes sure Moxley gets outta there!
ORANGE PUNCH for Pac! Hangman and Yuta fire hands now and Hangman sends Yuta into railing! Hangman still wants to take out Moxley, but so do White and Cassidy. Will Worlds End be where Moxley’s reign of terror ends? Or will The Maniac AEW World Champion use all of his enemies against each other like he did tonight?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, a lot of action but also a lot of set-up for the following weeks. Great promo from FTR to give us a kayfabe reason for them to take time off for two weeks. Granted, everyone is getting time off next week because the Christmas episode is being recorded this weekend for that big Hammerstein Ballroom booking. But anyway, FTR and friends against Death Riders, that’ll be a lot of fun for Fight for the Fallen, can’t wait to see it. Great promo stuff from MJF and Adam Cole ahead of their Dynamite Diamond Ring match. I don’t usually cheer Heels but I could not help but laugh at the Photoshop’d extra skinny Adam Cole. Great use of prerecorded message from Cole, too. Their faceoff for Christmas Collision is probably the go-home segment and that could go either way.
Good promo from Hayter to call out Julia Hart, but I’m surprised their match won’t be on Worlds End. At the same time, I get it, Julia needs time to get that ring rust off before wrestling such a big match so a few more days to prepare is fine. Plus, if Hayter VS Hart is given proper time on Fight for the Fallen, that’ll really help that card and this feud. Very good vignette promo from Jericho to put himself over while also simultaneously putting down and putting over New York. As much as fans might want Cardona to win, I still feel Jericho is going to win so that he can take credit for ROH getting a cable TV deal.
Very good promo from Mariah May to call out Rosa and talk down on the Tijuana Street Fight. Depending on how AEW wants to play this, I could see Rosa winning since this is her match idea so that she and Toni Storm revisit their feud as if it were the first time. Because yes, they continue the genius idea that Toni Storm doesn’t remember anything of her AEW career. In essence, Toni seems to think she’s still that young indie wrestler who hadn’t even made it to WWE. This could be played as Toni just playing us all, or as Toni actually having another psychological break where she really thinks she’s old school Toni Storm, and it’s genius either way.
Great TBS Championship match from Mone, and of course she retained at Strong Style Evolved. Apparently Mone VS Hazuki was another great match from Mone, I wish I had the time to watch Strong Style Evolved. But Mone VS Kris for Worlds End followed by Mone VS Mina for WrestleDynasty, like, one of those has to give. Mone is still a great Heel, but she needs a comeuppance at some point, and the last big PPV of AEW 2024 and the first-ever WrestleDynasty are each proper stages for a big loss to happen. Then Mone can then focus on one company, and it’ll certainly be AEW over NJPW.
Very good tag match from Hook & Shibata VS The Patriarchy, but it works that The Patriarchy cheat this win. Hook VS Nick is going to happen in the Hammerstein Ballroom, though I think it’ll be for the Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street episode that’s being taped this weekend. Otherwise, they would’ve just told us it was for Christmas Collision and there we go. But either way, Hook losing here means he is of course winning against Nick Wayne, and then maybe, just maybe, Hook goes after Christian for Worlds End or even Fight for the Fallen.
Great stuff with Ricochet tonight, as he doubles down on being this cocky side of himself, only to get rejected by The Hurt Syndicate and called out by Swerve. That sets up a lot of stuff for Ricochet to do after Worlds End, even if he isn’t Continental Champion. Ricochet’s promo was also a great segue into the great C2 match of Shelton VS Mortos. Great win for Shelton, and then the beatdown on Mortos bringing out Garcia and Briscoe was good stuff. Garcia VS Shelton is going to be great, and I do like the tease of Shelton wanting the TNT Championship. 2025 is definitely going to be Hurt Syndicate climbing up the ranks and grabbing up belts, so I could see Shelton being the first guy to do that.
Good promos from Darby and Ospreay to help open the show, and then just an absolute instant classic for their match. Darby scared us all again with that horrifying crash landing on the apron, but somehow he’s still in one piece. Darby winning wasn’t so much a shocker, but it is surprising they’ve given us quite the log jam at 6 points. Christmas Collision is going to be great stuff just on the drama of who comes away with 9 points. Ospreay VS Ricochet and Darby VS Claudio, that is great timing given those are some hot rivalry matches. And Darby winning was a great segue for Death Riders to come out and go to their main event match.
Great promo from Cassidy, White & Hangman to help hype this match, and it went about how I expected. Hangman abandoning the team was good stuff, because he of course came back when we least expected it. But at the same time, with Death Riders having extra people, they of course snatched that win away. The Fatal 4 Way is going to be great, but we’ve still got time to figure out this go-home math. And even then, it’s a Fatal 4 AND Christian Cage could choose to cash in at some point, the formula for this go-home math is too complex. But that said, I actually feel like Christian Cage should cash in. Imagine Christian as world champion being the last moment of AEW 2024 and then Fight for the Fallen, New Year’s Day, Christian opens the show just to gloat.
My Score: 8.9/10
