Lethal and Swerve stir as the ref starts a standing count. Swerve goes to the apron but Lethal bails out the side. Lethal hobbles his way around to go after Swerve, and he pulls Swerve into the post! And then YANKS him into it! Swerve hobbles away, clutching that arm, and Lethal stalks him. Swerve kicks back, KICKS the leg, then sits Lethal down against railing to rain down fists! Swerve then rolls, runs back in, and KNEES Lethal against railing! Swerve snarls but fans fire up as he drags Lethal to his feet. But then Lethal POSTS Swerve! Swerve rolls into the ring, clutching his shoulder, and Lethal follows him.
Lethal hobbles over to CLUB the bad arm! Swerve goes right down and crawls to ropes. Lethal drags Swerve to hammerlock the arm, and he smothers Swerve in to the mat. Swerve endures, fights up, but Lethal scoops to SLAM him! Lethal hobbles his way to the corner, climbs up, and Dynamite returns to single picture. Swerve stands to CHOP Lethal’s leg again! Swerve climbs but Lethal throws hands. Swerve ROCKS Lethal, climbs up after him, and fans rally up again. Swerve grits his teeth as he brings Lethal up but Lethal throws body shots. Lethal double wristlocks the bad arm, but Swerve throws body shots!

Swerve drags Lethal away, turns him over, and hooks the legs, but Lethal drags him into a victory roll! TWO, and into the CROSSFACE! Lethal has Swerve caught but Swerve rolls free! Lethal BOOTS Swerve! Lethal handsprings, but Swerve DROPKICKS him down!

Swerve shoots and Swerve scores, he leads the way for the Gold League!
PROGRAMMING NEWS for Rampage!
Thanksgiving Weekend is gonna be a bit more stuffed with Rampage joining Collision on Saturday! It’ll be on right before at 7 PM Eastern, so make sure your DVR is set accordingly!
Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata.
Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed, the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil & The Wrestler as she commends Cassidy on defending the AEW International Championship. The three champions here are going to be in action very shortly, but Cassidy has asked for time to make an announcement. Cassidy starts but Wheeler Yuta walks over with sarcastic applause. Yuta “apologizes” for interrupting but he wanted to congratulate him on the big win. But it took what? 17 Orange Punches, a Beach Break, and oh yeah, an exposed turnbuckle to put down Moxley. But surely Young Boy Hook has learned a lot.
Hook steps up but Shibata has him stand down. Yuta taunts Hook, and then says he hasn’t forgotten his beef with Shibata, either. Shibata has Yuta’s Pure Championship and it makes him sick. Good luck in the trios match tonight, and good luck in the title defense tomorrow night on ROH. But watch Yuta’s Pure Rules match, too. Because he is taking that title back! Cassidy says he was gonna say something but now they’re out of time. Will The Decoder be the one with nothing to say when he has to eat his words?
MJF & Adam Cole are here!
Better Than You Baybay reunited at Full Gear, and they both have to limp their way out to ringside given their bad legs. But at least MJF has a stylish cane to use. He also takes a seat for the “BOOM!” before the ROH World Tag Team Champions get in the ring. They may have bad legs right now but both men are in good spirits after MJF also held onto the AEW World Championship against Jay White. They get mics, MJF has the music cut, and the fans cheer him on. MJF says in case he sounds hoarse, that’s cuz last night he was chugging a lot of booze on Rush Street.
But ladies and gentlemen, and really he just means ladies, because Chicago’s got some girlies MJF would love to get deep with, and he ain’t talking pizza. But it appears that The Devil has arrived in Chicago! After MJF freshly beat the undefeated Jay White, rocking just one leg, he wants to say something about Jay White. MJF learned in those 30 minutes that White really is one of the best pro-wrestlers in the world. FACT. But at the same time, we found out that nobody is on the level of the devil.
Now, you are looking at the AEW World Champion with the most successful defenses, the youngest of all time, the longest reigning of all time, and y’know what? We can agree, he can be a bit too humble, right? So hasn’t he earned the right to toot his own horn? Chicago says yes, so MJF will say what we’re all thinking: MJF is the GREATEST AEW World Champion of all time! He is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, and he is better than you, and you know it! But none of that is possible without his Brochacho 4 Life, Adam Cole! MJF says that a time is coming up. The fans want a certain time. Oh, right! Who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole, Baybay?
Cole means this from the bottom of his heart, it is great to be back here in Chicago. And it is also great that he and MJF are still ROH World Tag Team Champions, baybay! With a little help from Samoa Joe, too. But with the good news must come the bad. And guys, as many of you know, Cole’s ankle is still in bad shape. He can’t walk, he can’t wrestle. But they have his world, he will work his ass off every single day to get back here doing what he loves to do! Cole will come back at 100% to be the best Cole he has ever been. But that makes him worried. Because sincerely, Cole wishes he could be here by MJF’s side, but he can’t.
And right now, it feels like the whole world is gunning for MJF. Wardlow is ready to rip MJF apart, and more importantly, this devil and his goons! MJF says he’s fine. The day MJF was born, the devil screamed with a great furious anger. Wanna know why? Because that man didn’t want no competition! To the man behind that mask, MJF will find you, and when he is done with that guy, the hell he sends you to will feel like heaven compared to- WAIT! The Devil of AEW is on the tron! And he’s laughing! Then he disappears! And then Samoa Joe appears! Well, from the devil you don’t know to the monster you do!
Joe swaggers his way to the ring, a mic of his own in hand, and he says it seems there are a lot of concerned faces. But this is a time for celebration! A big celebration for what MJF did, winning against all odds despite MJF’s supposed best friend couldn’t defend him. And MJF is still here AEW World Champion. But y’know what? Earlier in that night, MJF went out there and defended those ROH Tag Team Championships and started off right by tagging with Joe, for the simple price of a world title match. So Joe has come to Chicago to ensure that as honorable men, they honor their deal.
MJF says what’s crazy, Joe, first off is take a few steps back, because your breath smells like a skunk’s butthole. And secondly, MJF thought long and hard about their deal. He did. He feels like he has come to a reasonable and mature response. The response is as follows: EFF OFF! JOE CHOKES MJF!! Cole pleads with Joe not to kill MJF yet, he wants to talk with him! Please! Joe spares MJF, and Cole thanks him. Cole tells MJF not to do this. That answer is what the old MJF would say. But the new MJF is a man of his word.
And Cole gets it, Joe is a killer. They’ve had their fair share of encounters, those were the toughest fights of Cole’s life. Cole’s been choked out more times than he can count. That’s why Joe is who he is. But Max, that’s why you are who you are. The people don’t just love you because you’re a great wrestler, or because you’re a great talker. They love MJF because when he says something will happen, dammit, it happens! MJF promised Joe that title shot, so MJF needs to be a man of his word. The fans cheer “He’s Our Scumbag!” and MJF looks around. If Joe wants to face MJF, then he wouldn’t be the first ROH legend he’s beat in Chicago.
So how about Samoa Joe VS MJF, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, IN CHICAGO?!? Fans are thunderous and Cole might be trying to reason with MJF a little bit on that. But then Joe says, “Absolutely not.” What? Joe says what’s really gonna happen is MJF will be online the next morning and complain that he wasn’t 100% for this match. Boo freakin’ hoo. So Joe wants the best version of MJF. The fully healed, 100%, the man who is who he says he is MJF. So surely, but Worlds End, MJF will be 100% to defend that title. MJF asks if he has this right. Joe wants MJF in Nassau Coliseum, December 30th, in the most magical place in the world, Long Island, New York?
Fans boo but MJF says that’s fine, it’s his truth. But seriously, that’s where Joe wants MJF? That is correct. Then Joe has himself a deal! They shake on it, and even Cole is happy about it. But MJF wants to explain something. First, he does love Chicago deep dish pizza, just calm down. But wrestling MJF in Long Island is as bright as gettin’ head from an alligator. But based on the way Joe’s looking, maybe Joe doesn’t have many options. Joe understands what this is and he is great at picking fights, too. But MJF needs to understand that the worrying about “The Devil” is gone. Because now, consider yourself Joe’s property.
And what you learn about Joe’s property is that no one touches his property without his say-so. So everywhere MJF goes, Joe will be a few steps behind. When MJF thinks he’s all alone, don’t worry, Joe has your back, homie. And Joe will deliver the very best MJF to Nassau Coliseum, to then beat him unmercifully, strangle him unconscious, and take that AEW World Championship in front of MJF’s friends, family and everyone he knows and loves! Joe takes his leave, will the last Saturday of 2023 be MJF’s last day as world champion?
Six Man Tag: Katsuyori Shibata & #OrangeHook VS Matthew Menard, Angelo Parker & Jake Hager!
While the Continental Classic is putting up three titles at once, three champions join forces here to show what they’re capable of! Will the Wrestler, the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil & Freshly Squeezed all be shining tonight? Or will the former Jericho Appreciation Society members all get themselves some golden tickets?
Cassidy hurries over to get a mic from the timekeeper’s desk. He wants everyone to hold on a second. He forgot to give us his announcement. It’s a Thanksgiving surprise! Huh? It’s DANHAUSEN~! Fans go wild as the very nice, very evil overlord is here! But then Daddy Magic attacks Hook! Menard stomps away in the corner, lets off at the ref’s count, but then Hook CHOSP! And SAYANAGIS! And then SAYANAGIS! Parker runs in but Hook knees low! And hits a judo throw! Menard & Parker stand up together, and they BLAST Shibata & Cassidy! Then Hager CLOBBERS Hook! Fans boo as the X-JAS mugs Team Whatever.
Parker & Menard then coordinate, BACKBREAKER and KNEE for Hook! Fans boo, but Hager tags in to go up and up and HAGER BOMB Hook! Cover, TWO!! Hook survives and Hager is frustrated, but he looms over Hook as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Hager throws hands on Hook, has him in the corner, but he hears the fans taunting him about his hat. Hager storms up on Hook, throws furious fists, but the ref counts. Hager lets off to tag Menard and Menard stomps Hook. Tag to Parker, they both dig their boots in on Hook but let off as the ref counts. Parker whips Hook to ropes but Hook KICKS back! Hook then CLOBBERS Parker, but commits so much, he falls over! Parker grabs a leg, drags Hook back and tags in Hager. Hager drops knees, then chicken wings Hook. Hook endures, Hager shifts to a cording hold, and he grinds the shoulder. Fans rally as Hook endures.
Hook fights to his feet, throws body shots, but Hager whips him to the corner. Hook ELBOWS back, runs up, but Hager catches him! Hager RAMS Hook into the corner, tags Parker, and they mug Hook. Hook ROCKS Hager in return! But Parker snap suplexes Hook to a cover, TWO! Parker drags Hook up, tags Menard, and they mug Hook. Menard taunts Cassidy, soaks up the heat from Chicago, then stomps Hook some more. Tag to Parker, they smother Hook and stomp him around. Parker drags Hook up to whip him corner to corner hard, then whip him back the other way! Dynamite returns to single picture as Parker whips again, but Hook comes back to LARIAT!
Fans fire up while both men are down! They crawl, reach out, but Parker bypasses Hook to BLAST Shibata! Parker taunts Cassidy, but Hook reels him in for the T-BONE! Both men are down, Hook hurries, hot tag to Cassidy! Cassidy dodges Menard, BLASTS Hager, dodges Menard to then tilt-o-whirl and DDT! Fans fire up, Parker tags Hager, and Hager catches Cassidy for a SPINEBUSTER! Hager roars but fans boo as he hauls Cassidy up. Suplex, STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! And then tag to Shibata! Shibata CHOPS Hager, Hager ROCKS Shibata, repeat! They go back and forth, Shibata fires off a flurry!
Shibata runs, into a BOOT! But he stays up, so Hager BOOTS again! Shibata roars, bypasses the boot, avoids the next, and BOOTS Hager back! Parker runs up, Shibata DECKS him! Menard returns, into an UPPERCUT! Hager KNEES low, whips Shibata to a corner, but Shibata dodges! The splash hits buckles, and Shibata CHOPS! And ROCKS! And repeat! Fans fire up as the CHOPS echo out! Shibata then runs to BOOT Menard off the corner! Shibata returns, HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! Fans fire up and Shibata hauls Hager to his feet. Parker & Menard attack, the X-JAS all mug Shibata! Hager tags Parker, and the mugging continues!
Menard shouts for the finish, they get Shibata up and Hager reels him in, but Danhausen gets on the apron! He gets their attention, and he brings out THE HAT!! Danhausen puts on Hager’s hat!! Hager chases him, but he gets CURSED! Hager isn’t sure what to do, but Cassidy DIVES out onto him! Cassidy dodges Parker & Menard, taunts them, then rolls away as they rush back in! Shibata hot tags Hook, and they each get a SLEEPER!! Menard & Parker flail, but the ref explains Parker is legal, not Menard! So Hook & Shibata trade! Parker is in REDRUM!! Cassidy hits the ORANGE PUNCH on Hager!! Parker taps, Team Whatever wins!!
Winners: Orange Cassidy, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata, by submission
Danhausen celebrates with his mutual friends, and the champs all raise their belts. But will Cassidy be able to watch as friend Shibata defends his ROH Pure title against friend Trent?
Backstage interview with Adam Cole.
Renee says it is great to have Cole back, and on behalf of everyone at AEW, she wishes him a speedy recovery. They cannot wait for him to be back at 100%. He thanks her for that and says he can’t wait to get going on physical rehab. He is also so, so glad that MJF is keeping his word and facing Samoa Joe. But then “ADAAAAM~!” Roderick Strong comes rolling in with The Kingdom and Cole tells him to stop, he can hear him. Oh, sup, dude? But good they caught him before he left. They saw him Saturday, sorry they weren’t there to be with him. But Friday, what was up? Where was he? Action Andretti dropped Roddy right on his head! He was trying to-
RODDY, SHUT UP!! JUST SHUT UP!! When is he gonna get it through his thick skull that Cole is NOT his best friend anymore?! Cole wants Roddy to do him a favor: back off and leave him the hell alone! Roddy watches Cole storm off, but then says Cole doesn’t mean that. Roddy may (or may not) have a broken neck, but is he about to have a broken heart?
Christian Cage is here!
Captain Charisma is in Chicago, as is his “Patriarchy.” The fans boo the TNT Champion as he leads Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne to the ring. A bit surprising he even found them after leaving them behind during Full Gear in that star studded Six Man Tag. But Christian tells Chicago that they know the drill when he’s conducting business. The fans boo more, but Christian says that everyone knows a true champion is gracious in victory and humble in defeat. As we also know, this past Saturday at Full Gear, it didn’t exactly go their way. Now he could stand here with hand over his heart and tell us with all honesty that Christian didn’t lose that match!
Christian looks to Nick and says Nick did not lose that match. He then looks to Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus lost them that match. And that is unacceptable! Christian went home, thought to himself on how to get rid of this stench of losing, and it hit him like a ton of bricks! The lives of both Nick and Luchasaurus have benefitted ever since joining Christian Cage. And since they’re both his “children,” it is time he recreates them in his image! What? Christian tells Luchasaurus to kneel. The fans say “NO! NO! NO!” and Luchasaurus is hesitant. Christian tells him again to kneel. What is Luchasaurus not understanding? GET ON YOUR KNEES, MORON!
Luchasaurus kneels, and Christian says the name “Luchasaurus” will forever be associated with being a loser. Christian thought long and hard about his new name, and he has come up with one of strength. A name of toughness, that means certain victory, and a name that never means defeat. A name that has served Christian well throughout his career. Luchasaurus is his Finisher! And Saturday, the man formerly known as Luchasaurus will prove himself worthy of that new moniker, “Killswitch!” Fans boo, that’s not that creative. As for Nick Wayne, oh! He kneels already. Christian says no, he can stand.
Nick stands, unsure what to do. Christian says Nick should never kneel for another man, understood? Then what about Luchasaurus? Well, Nick is different. Nick is special. He is the son Christian always wanted and now he has. Nick is Christian’s golden boy. Nick is just like Christian! Christian says he loves his “son,” and as the golden boy, Nick shall forever be known as… The Prodigy, Nick Wayne! Again, not that creative. Christian and Nick hug, but Shayna Wayne is here! Christian is confused now, and Mama Wayne pleads with Nick to snap to his senses. Nick tunes her out, and Christian tells Shayna to stop, what’s she even doing here?
Shayna is a terrible mother! Maybe she loves Nick unconditionally, but that’s not good enough! She couldn’t provide for Nick! She only ever made $40,000 a year as a waitress! Nick is a PRODIGY! That is embarrassing for Nick to admit! Christian nis a legend, a champion, he can give Nick the world and everything in it! And y’know something else? Good thing Buddy is dead already. But Christian is a better father, because Buddy was never as good of a wrestler. And he was also not the father or man Christian is. So do us a favor, Shayna. And it is a shame, because things could’ve been different between them.
But for now, get the hell out of the ring, go get on your shift at Denny’s! But then Luchasaurus steps up to Christian!? Fans fire up but Christian tells “Killswitch” to kneel. Christian didn’t stutter, get on your knees! Don’t look at him with that stupid look! GET ON YOUR KNEES! Luchasaurus stares Christian down, so Christian SLAPOS him!! They can do this the easy way or the hard way. Fans rally behind Luchasaurus, but Christian says they can take that mask off so the world will see his hideous face! BACK DOWN, NOW!! Luchasaurus doesn’t budge, so Christian SHOVES him! He bumps into Shayna and she falls right over!
Fans boo and Luchasaurus is stunned! Even Nick is stunned! Fans tell Christian that he messed up! Christian tells Nick to go get something? Nick hurries to look under the ring, and he finds a chair! Nick gets in the ring with it, and Christian takes hold of it. Nick gets another chair… No, this can’t be! Christian is setting Shayna up for that?! Fans boo, Luchasaurus isn’t sure what to do, but then Christian stops himself. He wants Luchasaurus to do it?! Luchasaurus is conflicted, but here comes EDGE!! Edge runs in, dodges Luchasaurus and SPEARS Nick! And then he BOOTS Luchasaurus! Edge has the chair, and he stares Christian down.
Fans fire up as the two stare down, but then “Killswitch” drags Christian out of the ring?! In that case, “The Prodigy” takes another SPEAR!! Christian freaks out as Edge hits an IMPALER, too!! And then Edge gets the chairs! Christian shouts, “NO! THAT’S MY CHILD!” Then get in there to save him! Edge has Nick set up, and he CON-CHAIR-TOS Nick!! Christian is speechless, and Shayna cries over her fallen son. But the Rated R Superstar wants revenge by any means necessary, will he also tear down “Killswitch” to get at Captain Charisma?
Backstage interview with Anna Jay.
Renee is with The Star of the Show, as well as the rest of the former X-JAS, and Anna is about to be in a big Triple Threat- Menard interrupts by saying that if information is currency, then he is feeling DIRT POOR right about now! Daniel Garcia’s dancing, Angelo Parker’s new girlfriend, someone tell him what is going on? And what was Danhausen doing with Hager’s hat!? Anna shouts at them to stop. This is about HER! Focus on HER! Renee, ask the question. Well, Renee was just going to ask how Anna feels going into her match with Ruby Soho and Skye Blue. Anna just wants to wrestle. She is tired of everything else.
Anna is tired of the losing, of the infighting, of the drama. She doesn’t know if her guys are here to help her or hurt her, but tonight, she helps herself by hurting someone. Menard & Hager say fine, and then Parker gets a call from Ruby. He cannot be serious. He is in Anna’s corner, right? R-Right. Family first! But Parker still answers Ruby’s call. Will Anna be able to choke someone out and make big waves in the rankings?

The ref reprimands, and there’s no distractions to help this time.

AEW shares footage from the Full Gear post show.
Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships in their Fatal 4 Way Ladder match, but Chris Jericho confronted them. Jericho & Omega won the right to challenge off of The Young Bucks, so The Wizard just wanted The Absolute & Human Skyscraper to know that the Golden Jets would be seeing them soon. They said the same to him, and then in an interview before Dynamite went on the air, Starks & Bill attacked Jericho! They sent him into road cases, ripped the tape off the beat up arm, and then RAMMED the case into that arm against the wall! Will Jericho be in any shape to cash those golden tickets with Kenny Omega?
RJ City & Renee Paquette are on stage.
RJ says, “Wow, what a night.” But they are here to present the AEW Women’s World Championship. A championship that represents the premier women’s wrestler in the world. And without any further ado, the AEW Women’s World Championship goes to… TONI STORM! Toni pretends to be surprised as she leaves her seat in the front row to go on stage. She stumbles a bit, but tells Luther to leave her be. Storm stands back up, gives kisses to RJ and Renee, and then Mariah May appears to present her with the belt. Storm puts glasses on so she can read her “unprepared” list of thanks.
Storm would first like to thank one Mr. Anthony “Tony” Khan, and the wonderful people at Warner Brothers Discovery, especially the great Jack Warner. Wait, don’t play her off yet! She is NOT done! Thank you. Okay, she thanks her trainers, her opponent, Hikaru Shida, all of the AEW Women’s Division, and of course, “the little Toni Storms out there that want to be me. This is my spot. You will not take it. You will not make it. Stay in school. Maybe you can learn a trade. Thank you.” Fans cheer and Storm dramatically bows and accepts their praise. But wait! Here comes Skye Blue! Skye interrupts the Storm, and swaggers her way to the ring.

Backstage interview with Wardlow.
Renee wants a word with the War Dog, but he is busy bicep curling spare guard railing. He puts that down and then asks what the question is. Well, we all know that ever since he came back, his eyes have been set on MJF, just what is he waiting for? Wardlow says the world doesn’t revolve around MJF. Whatever happens to the devil happens on his time. But then AR Fox walks in, and he says Wardlow is putting the blame on everyone else. That’s understandable, it’s what Fox was doing with Darby not too long ago. Wardlow tells Fox that he doesn’t need advice from anyone. Then he SHOVES Fox down! Will the War Dog tear down the Whole Fox’n Show before going after MJF?

Winner: Jon Moxley, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Briscoe earns 0)
For just their first time ever facing off, Moxley and Mark left their marks on Chicago! And best of all, they shake hands to show respect for each other. The Maniac, the Mogul and the Switchblade are your Gold League pack leaders, but who will last all the way to the end of this six week tournament?
My Thoughts:
An awesome Dynamite here to transition from Full Gear and get the Continental Classic going. Great field of 12, and great first round match-ups here. Swerve VS Lethal and White VS Rush were made all the better for not having all the different henchmen and sidekicks ringside. And then what an awesome main event from Moxley VS Briscoe, but I figured Moxley would win to rebound from losing the International Championship. Of the six men in Gold League, I feel like Swerve definitely deserves to be the finalist that moves on to Worlds End. The whole point of his story with Hangman was to prove himself worthy of a prominent spot, so why not the historic Continental Triple Crown?
Great Six Man Tag of Shibata, Orange & Hook beating the X-JAS, with Danhausen making a great surprise return. That loss also fed into the story of the Triple Threat match tonight, with hometown hero Skye getting a win while the tensions between Outcasts and X-JAS growing because neither side wants Ruby x Parker being a thing. But it is a thing, it’s gonna be a thing, both sides are gonna feel real bad when Ruby & Parker tell them all to leave them alone. As for Skye, her win makes it seem she’ll be facing Toni Storm next. Hilarious awards show parody from Toni Storm and the others, and Skye “ruining the moment” is definitely reason enough for their title match.
Similarly, Jericho interrupting Starks & Morrissey to then get jumped by them, there’s heat for the tag title match that we knew was coming anyhow. We might even get a response from Jericho & Omega on Collision to make it more clear. Great segment with Christian and his group, and I really thought this was the moment Luchasaurus was going to turn on Christian. Edge saving Mama Wayne was still good stuff, I just hope Mama Wayne doesn’t screw Edge over because he Con-Chair-to’d Nick. Now that I think about it, that probably does happen as Edge and Christian fight for the TNT Championship.
And awesome promo stuff from MJF, Cole and Samoa Joe to also officially establish the AEW World Championship match. MJF does continue to take unnecessary jabs at Joe, but MJF still isn’t perfectly a good guy so it makes sense. But great for them to have The Devil give a cameo and a laugh. Pretty sure the audio was altered so you couldn’t tell who it was from their laugh, so also good detail there. And a good segment with Cole telling Roddy off backstage. There are a lot of great elements going into this story, they’ve got another five weeks to build this, it’s all going to culminate at Worlds End, hopefully they’ve got the right choice behind that mask for when the reveal happens probably during the world title main event.
My Score: 9/10

Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland.
Well, not quite, as Renee Paquette waits outside his locker room, hoping for a word about Ricochet’s threatening Prince Nana. Wait, Hangman Page barges through, and says no one is in there. Renee asks what Hangman is even doing, he says it is none of her business. Then can Hangman comment on Christopher Daniels announcing the end of his in-ring career? Nope, no time. But then Hangman literally bumps into MJF. These two stare down, but then Hangman moves on. MJF says unbelievable. The Cowboy walks around like he’s King S*it just because the fans like him. No matter what he does, Hangman did nothing wrong~!
But MJF even so much as breathes funny and it is all over for him. How hypocritical. MJF mutters to himself but Renee asks how he feels about Jeff Jarrett’s match where he could win a title opportunity with Moxley. Renee snaps MJF out of ranting to himself, and MJF apologizes, it’s the ADHD. But MJF is not gonna let anybody ruin his mood tonight. Because tonight, he proves his words aren’t just beautiful poetry but prophecy. Tonight, Double J learns that as MJF said, you’re better off making a deal with The Devil than defying him. Jarrett learns that the hard way when he goes out there alone to face one of the most dangerous men AEW has to offer in the man-horse, Claudio Castagnoli!
And that is all because of Jarrett’s narcissism, and his refusal of MJF’s sweetheart deal. MJF has a new offer, and unfortunately for Jarrett, it is one he can’t decline. It goes like this: The Last Outlaw’s Last Ride! Ain’t that great? MJF grins, but will he have to eat his words when Jarrett finds a way to defeat the Swiss Cyborg?
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs speaks.
“Unfortunately, Big Bill, I wasn’t cleared to travel to Dynamite tonight. But just as we went off that stage on Collision, I told we’re going to Hell. When I’m cleared to come back, I’m gonna show you that Hell is just the beginning.” When and where will The Book of Hobbs finish this chapter with The Redwood?
High Stakes: Jeff Jarrett VS Claudio Castagnoli!
Well, just as the Wolf of Wrestling said, The Last Outlaw is going up against the Death Rider’s workhorse, all for his shot at Jon Moxley and the AEW World Championship! Will Double J win here to go on to “the big one?” Or is this where Jarrett’s ride ends?
The bell rings and the fans rally up for Jarrett. Jarrett and Claudio tie up, go around, go along ropes, and end up in a corner. The ref counts, Claudio lets off slowly, but then takes a swing! Jarrett avoids the cheap shot to UPPERCUT Claudio! Claudio headlocks, Jarrett powers up and out, but Claudio runs him over! Things keep moving, Jarrett drops down then arm-drags! And HIP TOSSES! Jarrett whips, JAPANESE ARM-DRAGS, and the fans fire up! Jarrett puts Claudio in a corner, climbs up, and he rains down fists! The fans count along, but Claudio stops Jarrett at 4 to then atomic drop! Claudio runs, and he LARIATS Jarrett down! Cover, TWO!

But Claudio sunset flips, Jarrett rolls through, and Jarrett has the legs! FIGURE FOUR! The fans “WOO~!” while Claudio flails! Claudio crawls over to the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Jarrett lets go fast, and the fans cheer while Claudio bails out. Jarrett waits on Claudio and the fans rally behind “DOUBLE J! DOUBLE J!” Claudio waves to the crowd? Oh, of course! Wheeler Yuta is here! The Decoder is dressed and ready for his match against Jay White, but he looks ready to go now if he has to!
Jarrett storms out and dares Yuta to do something, but the ref has Yuta stay back. Now Claudio waits on Jarrett in the ring, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref has Jarrett leave Yuta alone, and he tells Yuta to stay back. Jarrett returns to the ring, dodges Claudio and puts him on ropes! Jarrett runs to then STRADDLE ATTACK! The fans cheer as Jarrett does the Fargo Strut, then runs back in, only for Yuta to warn Claudio! Claudio dodges and TOSSES Jarrett out of the ring! The ref keeps Claudio from going out there, but that lets Yuta attack Jarrett! Yuta gets away with it all and Claudio goes out the side. Claudio SMACKS Jarrett off the barriers, then stalks him around the way. Claudio then lifts Jarrett to hit SNAKE EYES off railing! Claudio puts Jarrett in the ring and clamps on a COBRA CLUTCH!
Jarrett endures while Claudio thrashes him around. Jarrett fights up, fires body shots, but Claudio HOTSHOTS him on ropes! Jarrett sputters, Claudio kicks him out to the floor, and again the ref keeps Claudio in the ring. Yuta creeps up, but the ref senses him this time! Yuta backs off, Claudio goes out, and Claudio puts Jarrett in the ring. Claudio tells the ref not to worry about Yuta, but then Jarrett fires body shots! Jarrett ROCKS Claudio, fires more shots, but Claudio BOOTS him down! And hits a LEG DROP, brother! Cover, TWO! Jarrett trips Claudio, steps through, but Claudio BOOTS him away! Claudio runs up in the corner again, but Jarrett dodges! Claudio is stuck, Jarrett kicks at the free leg! Claudio hobbles around but Jarrett winds up, only for Claudio to block! Jarrett aims, but Claudio ducks the enzigiri!
Claudio grabs both legs, for the GIANT SWING!! Claudio goes around and around, but can only manage half a dozen rotations because of the damage to his own leg! Claudio steps through on Jarrett and turns him over, SHARPSHOOTER! The fans boo but Jarrett endures! Jarrett reaches out while Claudio sits deep! Yuta tells Jarrett to just tap out, but the fans rally! Jarrett powers up, pushes back, and he has Claudio’s legs! Jarrett has the SHARPSHOOTER! Jarrett does this for Owen! Claudio endures, but Yuta slides a chair in! Yuta then distracts the ref, Jarrett lets Claudio go, and Jarrett DECKS Yuta!

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli, by pinfall (denies Jeff Jarrett a world title match)
Marina Shafir is also ringside now, just to hold up the briefcase that holds the world title. The Death Riders screw Double J over, but it took almost ALL of them to do it! Is this a sign that they fear Double J’s grit and determination? As for the Last Outlaw, he slowly sits up from taking all those big shots, the fans cheering him on. Jarrett thanks the fans, but here comes MJF… Jarrett sighs while he struggles to stand up, and MJF struts out here with another stupid grin on his face. MJF goes right to the ring, mic in hand, and he tells Jarrett, “I just wanted to come out here to say…” HE CLOBBERS JARRETT WITH THE DYNAMITE DIAMOND RING!!
The fans boo as MJF grins again and stands over Jarrett. MJF picks the mic back up to say, “As you know, I truly respect my elders. And that’s precisely why I’m not gonna say I told you so.” MJF leaves Double J behind, but will the Scumbag actually man up and go for gold? Or is he just going to wait it out while The Maniac continues his reign of terror?
Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee is with the One & Only and says earlier today, she tried to get a word with Swerve Strickland, but he is nowhere to be found. But she has been informed that should Swerve interfere in Ricochet’s match tonight, Swerve will effectively forfeit the match the two of them were set to have next week in Atlanta. Really? Ricochet likes that. Because finally, Swerve is out of Ricochet’s business. Well, Renee knows Ricochet has a lot he wants to get off his chest, so what’s on his mind? Ricochet says no, no, we aren’t doing this right now. Look at how Ricochet is dressed. Does she take him for some kind of hoodlum?
No, they will do this in a more formal setting this Saturday on Collision. As for tonight, “the powers that be” have decided to further bully Ricochet by putting him in a match against AR Fox one week before one of the biggest matches in Ricochet’s career. So if you don’t mind, let him take care of that situation real quick. Renee wishes him luck but he says no need. The music hits and Ricochet makes his entrance. Will Dynamite be #OuttaThisWorld? Or will it be the Whole Fox’n Show?

Ricochet shoves Fox, then APRON HIP TOSSES him! Fox writhes on the floor while Ricochet soaks up the heat, Ricochet builds speed, but rolls to a stop and taunts the fans for thinking he’d give them something. The fans boo but Ricochet soaks it up, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Fox survives and now Ricochet is shocked! The fans fire up and Fox sputters back to life. But Ricochet locks ‘n’ loads, SPIRIT GUN!! And then the dragon sleeper, the VERTIGO!! Cover, Ricochet wins!
Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall
That was indeed #OuttaThisWorld, but Fox gave as good as he got right to the end! But Ricochet brings out the golden scissors!? BUT WAIT! SWERVE IS HERE! Swerve trips Ricochet and throws him into the barriers! The fans fire up as Swerve fires off on Ricochet, then throw shim around ringside! And then into steel steps! Ricochet sputters and Swerve snarls, and then Swerve puts Ricochet in the ring. But then Ricochet uses Fox as a shield! Ricochet even has the scissors against Fox’s neck to threaten him like he did Nana! Swerve stands down and Ricochet retreats. But with one week to go, will Ricochet enter Swerve’s House only to NOT make it out in one piece?
AEW shares a snippet from Closeup with Renee Paquette.
We got a little taste on Saturday during Collision, now we get a little more as Renee asks Jon Moxley about the AEW World Championship itself. From the moment Moxley won it, he’s kept it hidden. First a garbage bag, now the briefcase. Why is it Moxley is essentially holding this title hostage? Moxley asks back why anyone needs to see the belt. What does anyone get out of it? Do they want to take a picture of it? Is this a petting zoo? Why does anyone need to see it when they don’t know anything about it? They don’t understand it on any level. They don’t understand what a world championship means, what it is about, what it takes to be a world champion.
Moxley IS the AEW World Championship! He is the living definition of what it is to be a champion. Want to see it? Take a look at it, because it’s right here. HE is the AEW World Championship, it lives here. It isn’t something you hold, it isn’t something you show off, it isn’t something you take pictures with. It lives in the heart! It has to be cultivated, grown, forged in the white hot fires of struggle and combat. And as we heard from Collision, Moxley is trying to build a THOUSAND Moxleys! He wants to backfill AEW, so that means he must put them through what he went through, and maybe even worse.
The Maniac’s reign of terror is much deeper than we knew. But will it ever come to an end?
The Learning Tree speaks.
Chris Jericho says, “Hi, guys~! Welcome to another New York Minute, coming to you live this week from Huntsville, Alabama, home of the Crimson Toad.” Bryan Keith adds, “ROLL TOAD!” Jericho says a lot is going on with The Nueve, like his new movie, Dark Match, premiering in theaters and on Shudder this Friday night. It’s violent, it’s gory, it’s fun, just like The Learning Tree! But speaking of violent, we also saw last week on Collision, Big Bill took out Will Hobbs! Tells us about it, Redwood! Bill says what “LT” said last week really struck a chord with him. It is one thing for Bill to share the teachings of Jericho with the world, but it’s another to put those words into action.
Bill feels now that he understands Jericho’s words in a way that he never did before. He feels… Stronger. Jericho says yes, when he hears Bill say that, it makes Jericho very proud. Jericho is very proud… of himself, for being such a great mentor! And Jericho told Bill to take out Hobbs, but permanently. Bill didn’t do that, so Bill will have to work a little bit harder next time. But Bill will get that chance again this Saturday, as Jericho & Bad Apple Bryan Keith take on those other heathens who beat them in that 12 Man Tag at Maximum Carnage, The Outrunners! Jericho says the Outrunners claim to have been around for decades, but Jericho’s never seen them anywhere but AEW, EVER!
Keith says that’s a Mandela Effect! Jericho says this Saturday, The Youngest Men Alive get taught a lesson from the smartest men alive, and Big Bill will make Jericho proud for real this time. That’s all! Another New York Minute! Thanks, guys~! Jericho’s cocky smile turns into a sneer, but will he and Keith really bring down Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum? Or will the Learning Tree get a Total Recall?

The fans rally, Yuta storms up, but White CHOPS again! White roars, the fans fire up, but Yuta kicks the bad leg! White falls back, Yuta mocks the roar, then he storms up on White in the corner. “It’s a little different, huh? It’s a little different because it’s even, it’s an even fight right now. Death Riders, I know how you operate. And here’s the thing, I don’t hate how you operate. But what I do hate is when you try to end a 67-year-old man who is my idol, Ricky Morton. That’s what I got a problem! Right now, tonight, one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, one half of the greatest tag team, The Midnight Express, Dennis Condrey, is here! In Dennis Condrey’s name, on Collision, FTR VS The Death Riders, in a Midsouth Street Fight!” The fans like the sound of that! Dax says, “See y’all there.” Will the Top Guys make sure The Death Riders finally get what they deserve?
Renee Paquette is on stage.
She welcomes out the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May! The Glamour walks out on stage, says it is great to be in Huntsville, “but looking around, maybe we should change the first letter to a C?” The fans get what she means, but Renee moves things along. We have seen the metamorphosis of “Timeless” Toni Storm, who Mariah will be defending the title against at Grand Slam: Australia. Mariah seemed a bit shaken- Oh, wow, we’re doing this? Toni Storm playing the part of Toni Storm, the RETURN~ of Toni Storm! This isn’t real, Renee! None of it is! Toni Storm is NOT real! Mariah then snatches the mic from Renee while the fans chant “TONI! TONI!”
Mariah scowls at the fans, then says, “You want to play the role of Toni Storm? Okay, why don’t you play the Toni Storm who gave her heart to a woman who used her for her gold? No, no, why don’t you play the Toni Storm who’s most memorable moment was bleeding and crying in my hands?” The fans boo but Mariah says maybe Toni should play the Toni who walked out of Wembley Stadium and Japan and Mexico, because she couldn’t touch Mariah. Mariah smirks while fans boo, and Mariah says Toni can play whatever Toni she’d like, because the ending stays the same. Mariah doesn’t need to rope play. When you’re this good, you don’t need to change a thing.
Mariah says, “I am the Woman From Hell, and I always will be. And I will remind you for the rest of your life. Look now and never forget, for this is your AEW Women’s World Champion!” Mariah holds up the title, but with just over two weeks left, will she lose it all to the woman she took it all from?
AEW checks on on The Gunns.
Austin & Colten have been watching from home, looking back on their rise to the top, and working on making it back. When and where will it be #GunnsUp again?
BREAKING NEWS for Collision!
On top of Jericho & Keith VS The Outrunners, we will see Samoa Joe & Hook team up against Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian! Will The Patriarchy’s “sons” be able to stop the Samoan Submission Machine and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil? Then, after hearing Mariah speak tonight, “Timeless” Toni Storm will give her response! And then, after the tense stare downs from last week’s Homecoming, Daniel Garcia is putting up his TNT Championship in a Triple Threat! Kyle O’Reilly and Lee Moriarty are stepping up, but will either of them take this title from Red Death?
The Hurt Syndicate speaks.
Montel Vontavious Porter says, “Normally, we would gloat. But we’re gonna celebrate. First, because we’re classy gentlemen who conduct business, I would like to recognize the former AEW Tag Team Champions, Private Party. Zay, Quen, they’re warriors, they fought hard. It wasn’t their fault they ran into the most devastating tandem in ALL of professional wrestling. These tag team titles are going to stay here as long as we want them. We are putting everyone on notice. The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. The Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin. Hurt Syndicate will accept any challenge from any challenger. Any time, any place.
“We are the Hurt Syndicate, and we hurt people.” Then who will dare step up against this dangerous and powerful pair?
The Don Callis Family speaks.
Don Callis himself says, “We are the true one-percenters of professional wrestling.” Konosuke Takeshita is not only the AEW International Champion, he is the NEVER Openweight Champion after defeating Shingo Takagi at WrestleKingdom 19Â and Tomohiro Ishii at WrestleDynasty. They will do what they do everywhere in the world, whatever ring they step into, and win 1-2-3! Will that be the case when AEW arrives in Australia?
The Vendetta speak.
Taya Valkyrie has the cameraman come in close. “Moments from now, we’re gonna witness Mercedes Mone defend her TBS Championship VS Yuka. UGH!” Deonna Purrazzo says, “We both know that could have been me, it should have been me, and it would have been me, if it wasn’t for Harley Cameron.” Taya says Harley loves sticking her “balloons” where they don’t belong, and Deonna says this world wasn’t built for women like them. That is why they must TAKE what they deserve. So Harley, now you belong to The Vendetta. Saturday Night Collision, they are coming to collect. The Virtuosa then dismisses the cameraman, will Harley pay for doing the right thing?
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Yuka Sakazaki!
The CEO may be the FOUR-BELT BOSS, but she is still up for a challenge. She turned down Harley Cameron as Harley hasn’t won anything on AEW TV, ever. But then Harley made sure the Wrestling Magical Girl had a fair chance in Homecoming’s Fatal 4 Way last Saturday Night Collision. Will Yuka thank Harley for that by defeating Mone? Or will The CEO still be the Face of TBS?
The introductions are made, the AEW belt is raised, and we see if Mone holds onto the hardware!

Mone escapes and goes back to a corner. Yuka runs up, blocks boots, and she puts Mone in the ropes!
Yuka ENZIGIRS, then DRAPING GERMAN SUPLEXES! The fans are thunderous while Mone flounders! Yuka goes up the ropes, MAGICAL GIRL SPLASHÂ onto knees!! Mone saves herself, cradles Yuka, TWO!! Yuka escapes, but Mone KNEES her in the face! And then a POWERBOMB! Mone flips Yuka over, hooks her into the Gory Especial, MONEY MAKER!! Cover, Mone wins!
Winner: Mercedes Mone, by pinfall (still AEW TBS Champion)
Mone got quite the fight from Yuka, but she not only holds onto this title, but she stays the FOUR BELT BOSS! Will anyone ever end The CEO’s world domination?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, and it moved rather smoothly. I can’t be sure, but it felt like there was less talking and more story told through action. Great opening match from Ospreay VS Cage, and they hit all the beats: Omega got attacked backstage; Ospreay still wins despite Archer and Callis getting involved; Don Callis Family beats Ospreay up; Omega makes the save; Don Callis Family still beats him and Ospreay up. I feel like the teaser of the “sixth man” was a little soon if Ospreay & Omega were still going to be on the defensive, but maybe we’ll see the reveal during the tag match for Grand Slam: Australia. It would certainly be a big moment for their newest “biggest show.”
Plus, great story intertwining, it was a bit like the AEW of old. Hangman looking for Swerve but not finding him, then bumping into MJF was good stuff. MJF of course talked smack on Jarrett before Jarrett VS Claudio, and Jarrett VS Claudio was some great stuff. But wow, Moxley needing to get involved to screw over Jarrett? I feel like Claudio could’ve just given Jarrett a low blow and it would’ve been the same. But I suppose Jarrett really being down and out gave MJF his opening to add on, which of course all but guarantees we’re getting MJF VS Jarrett, probably also for Grand Slam: Australia. Again, it’s AEW’s new big special, they’re not having MJF miss that.
Ricochet had a good promo getting all cocky because he thought he was safe, and then he had a great match against AR Fox. Swerve appearing from under the ring (at least I think that’s where he was, the cameras didn’t catch where he came from) was great, and he got to beat up on Ricochet a bit. Ricochet still got away before Swerve could truly stand tall, but this was the go-home to their match next week in Atlanta, and Swerve certainly has the edge on Ricochet. That would usually indicate Swerve loses, and I could see Ricochet cheating to do it. I feel like they could easily set a bigger, better match for Grand Slam, maybe even Revolution, we’ll have to wait and see.
Good snippet from that Moxley interview for Closeup, thought it didn’t add too much to what we got on Collision last week. White VS Yuta was a great match, and while White won, the Death Riders of course came out to go after him. That then of course brought out Rated FTR, but surprisingly no brawl. FTR putting out the challenge for the Midsouth Street Fight is good stuff, and that match will be some awesome stuff, and also hard to call. We also got a good vignette from The Gunns, so maybe we will get them returning to help White against the Death Riders, and then we can actually get a World Trios Championship already.
Good promo from Hobbs to explain why he couldn’t be here tonight, and this was surely legit given that wild fall off the stage in Daily’s Place. Any number of bumps, scrapes, bruises and such could’ve happened when crashing down through tables and hitting the ground, and Hobbs is still only just returning from injury, they can’t risk him getting injured again. Good “New York Minute” from The Learning Tree, but the highlight was Jericho’s continued condescending towards Big Bill. Bill really needs to turn on Jericho before this story is over, and I’d love if Bill also ranted about all the things Jericho got wrong about the USA while trying to be “The King of New York.”
Good promo from Mariah to respond to that confrontation with Toni Storm, and Toni’s promo on Collision will surely be good stuff. Good promo from Vendetta, I feel like whatever match they have with Harley should end up Harley’s win. Then Harley can throw that win in Mone’s face because she wants that title shot in Australia. Speaking of, awesome main event from Mone VS Yuka, probably one of Yuka’s best matches in AEW. But of course Mone won, she’s been going strong and probably will keep going until Kamille comes back or we get another crossover of AEW, NJPW and other partners, aka Forbidden Door: London.
My Score: 8.9/10

The Swaggy Awards return for Part 2 of their 10th annual installment. This part is all about the best matches and best wrestlers from 2024!
The Attitude Of Aggression returns for the 10th Annual Swaggy Awards, our annual celebration of the best-of-the-best in pro wrestling for 2024. After a fantastic discussion in Part 1, the boys return for Part 2. And if you thought the discussion in Part 1 was epic…. well, you haven’t heard anything yet. Here on Part 2 of the Swaggys, Dave was again joined by PC Tunney, Kinny Killa, Rob from The Mindless Wrestling Podcast, and the one and only Rey Ca$h. But we also welcome Andrew Balaz to the discussion this time around. Here on Part 2, the gang passed out virtual hardware in categories such as Moment of the Year and Upset of the Year. But Part 2 is mostly about the big categories: The Best Matches of the Year and the Best Wrestlers of 2024. All that and much, much more, including an unsanctioned award a Decade in the making (IYKYK). You never know what will happen on the Swaggys. Who walked away with the gold and the glory here on Part 2? Did we get any unanimous winners this time out? Tune in and find out.
