#DemHardyBoyz just won big to start off their 2024! Will these three look to DELETE the Scissor World Tour and take those AEW World Trios Championships?
Backstage interview with Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara.
Renee Paquette is with Le Sex Gods, and says they are sitting on that AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity. However, next week we will see Sammy VS Ricky Starks 1v1. Sammy has a pin on Starks after the big win at Worlds End, how does he feel ahead of this match? Sammy says he feels great. Just as Renee brought up, they got the big PPV win, but that is the past. Now we look to Dynamite, Guevara VS Starks, and Renee, Sammy Guevara VS Ricky Starks is happening! This is what AEW is about! This is a story with feeling! Sammy and Starks have known each other for years, gone up and done the indies together, and Sammy respects the hell out of Starks.
Sammy knows he and Ricky are a lot alike. No matter what the world wants to throw at them, they overcome it. And Starks has overcome it to become one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Starks is an incredible talker, incredible wrestler, but next week, only one can be the winner. Starks might be good, maybe even great, but he’s not better than The Best Ever! Jericho adds that if Big Bill tries to get involved, Jericho will stop him. Yes, Bill is twice Jericho’s size, but with half Jericho’s brain. Jericho will take out the proverbial ax, and chop down Bill inch by inch until they’re face to face. Then Jericho will poke Bill in the eye, knock his teeth out, and Uncle Joe will cry! See you Wednesday, boys!
Backstage interview with the former Jericho Appreciation Society.
Renee is with Anna Jay, Matthew Menard, Angelo Parker and Jake Hager and says Anna has a huge match tonight, kicking off 2024 against the former three-time AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida. How is she feeling ahead of the match? To be honest, a little stagnant, numb, but also that it is time for a change. She vows to make 2024 her year. This is Anna’s year, and that starts with beating Shida, by herself. The boys accept that, but then Harley Cameron walks in. She apologizes for interrupting but she just wants to introduce herself as the newest member of The Outcasts. And she is very, very helpful.
In fact, she wants to help every single one of the X-JAS. Harley’s a bit flirty with Cool Hand Ange, and she even whispers something to him. Wow, she would actually do that? Oh, she’s the best at it. Rawr. Well, uh, okay… Anna says she’s gonna go get ready, and she tells Shida she’ll see her later tonight. The boys cheer Anna on, and Menard says Harley’s a nice girl. No, it wasn’t what that looked like. Hager says he doesn’t like when people whisper. Just what is Harley playing at? And is there someone *cough* Saraya */cough* behind it all?
Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale VS Kennedi Hardcastle & Notorious Mimi!
Stokely Hathaway has tried to tear down the friendship of The Galaxy’s Greatest and The Babe with the Power, but it only resulted in a great friendly match at Worlds End. Oh, Stokely is here now and interrupting Justin Roberts. He says he’s got this? Stokely gets in the ring to say, “I don’t know who the hell these two are, they don’t even work here, but God bless ’em.” That’s rude… But Stokely gets his phone out to read the script. This is a tag team match scheduled for one fall. The fans echo “ONE FALL!” and Stokely says this isn’t fan participation night, aight? Anyway, cue the music.
Kris makes her entrance, Willow by her side, and they’re confused as to why Stokely is here. He hast he music cut? “She is the greatest TBS Champion of all time, and I’m not gonna lie, I wish she was mine. She’s the greatest as you can see, and every time I think about her, I think about that old school R&B. She’s thicker than a Snickers, and she’s faster than a cat with whiskers! Give it up ladies and gentlemen, for Kris Statlander~!” Was Stokely seriously just flirting with Kris as part of the intro? Kris SMACKS him for it! Hey, his mama’s watching! And yeah, her tag partner is Willow. Yeah, that’s all you get now.
Stokely steps away, the teams sort out, and Kris starts against Mimi. The bell rings, the two tie up, and Kris scoops to SLAM Mimi! Kris flexes, tags Willow, and fans fire up as Willow scoops and SLAMS Mimi! Tag back to Kris, and she scoops to SLAM Mimi! Tag back to Willow, and she brings Mimi back around, to scoop and SLAM! Fans fire up as this is becoming Scoop Slam City! Kris scoops Mimi again, then tags Willow, then SLAMS Mimi! Willow runs to SENTON! Fans fire up with Willow, she whips Mimi to a corner and Willow runs in to clothesline! Fans fire up with Willow but Stokely says Stat does better.
Mimi fights free to SLAP Willow, hot tag to Kennedi! Kennedi runs up to CLUB Willow and bring her around. Kennedi CLUBS Willow, whips her to a corner, then runs in to UPPERCUT! Tag back to Mimi, and Mimi runs up to BOOT Willow down! Fans rally, Mimi & Kennedi reel Willow in, but she blocks the suplex! Willow then DOUBLE SUPLEXES back! Fans fire up, Willow tags Kris, and Kris roars as she DOUBLE LARIATS! Fans fire up with kris, she runs up to ROCK Mimi! Then ROCK Kennedi! Then a scoop and POWERSLAM for Kennedi! Mimi swings, but into a BLUE THUNDER BOMB onto Kennedi!
Fans fire up and Kris tags Willow. They get Mimi up, ROUNDHOUSE to SPINEBUSTER! High stack, Willow & Kris win!
Winners: Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale, by pinfall
Stokely even announces it himself, “And your winners, Kris Statlander~! And Willow Nightingale.” Obvious bias aside, Stokely at least wants the best for Kris. Will he stay out of the way otherwise as these two stick together? Never mind, he raises Kris’ hand in victory. Willow shoos Stokely, Kris even holds the ropes open. Will Kris & Willow stick together to take over AEW?
Backstage interview with the Hardy Boyz.
Renee is with Matt & Jeff, and she knows they’ve had their frustrations, but great win in trios competition, how’re they feeling? Jeff says they are feeling great. They got a huge win on Rampage, so someone needs to book them on Dynamite to boost those ratings! In comes Private Party with applause, Isiah Kassidy says the Hardys winning, they love to see it, Renee loves to see it, the cameraman loves to see it. Everyone loves it, so congrats. Matt thanks them and says he is very happy to see Marq Quen back from injury. Private Party looks good, and they’ve got this. Y’know why? Because Private Party sat under the learning tree of the tag team GOATs!
Matt says if you love something, you gotta let it go. So it is time for Private Party to once again be their own men, their own team. No more #HardyParty, it will now be Hardys and Private Party, you do you. Matt is proud of them calling people out, too, even calling out The Hardys! That’s legit! So one last fist bump. They all put hands in, fire up, and one last gift! Two ring-worn Hardy shirts as souvenirs! Matt knows the Hardy Boyz were Private Party’s childhood heroes, but they will also be Private Party’s opponents. See you very, very soon. The Hardy Boyz head out after a rather condescending and passive aggressive display.
Kassidy says it could’ve at least been new stuff. Quen wants to kick their asses. Private Party starts on the road towards their own tag team legacy, will it start by bringing Matt & Jeff off their high horses?
Hikaru Shida VS Anna Jay!
The Shining Samurai wants to have gold again, possibly even become a four-time AEW Women’s World Champion, but the Star of the Show just wants her first reign. These two have faced off a few times in AEW already, which way will this newest rematch go?
The bell rings, the two circle and the fans rally up. They tie up, Shida powers Anna to ropes, and the ref counts. Shida lets off, but Anna puts Shida on ropes to fire off forearms! Shida shoves her away, but Anna gets around, QUEEN SLAYER! But Shida powers up and out before the sleeper’s on any tighter! The fans rally, Anna kicks but Shida blocks. Shida swings, Anna ducks, but then Anna swings and Shida ducks. Shida ROCKS Anna this time, whips her, and scoops to BACKBREAKER! Fans rally with Shida and she puts Anna on the apron. Shida then CLUBS Anna, gets some space, and runs in to KNEE LIFT!
Anna falls and fans fire up with Shida. The ref wants this in the ring so Shida gets as chair! Fans fire up, the ref reprimands, but Shida stands the chair up. Shida runs up, but Anna avoids the flying knee! Anna pushes the chair aside, then whips Shida hard into railing! Fans are torn but Anna soaks up the cheers and jeers. Anna hauls Shida up to THROW her into more railing! Anna “apologizes” then drags Shida up and into the ring. Fans boo but Anna bends Shida against the post! The ref counts, Anna lets off at 4, and she pushes Shida into the ring. Anna taunts the fans, storms in after Shida, and then CLUBS her down!
Anna taunts Shida, drags her up, and whips her to ropes. Anna BOOTS Shida down, covers, TWO! Shida is still in this but Anna taunts the fans again while Rampage goes picture in picture.
Anna bumps Shida off buckles, then digs her boot in. The ref counts, Anna lets off at 4,and she “apologizes” again before she ROCKS Shida. But then Shida pulls Anna’s hair! Anna throws body shots, CHOKES Shida, and lets off as the ref counts. Anna protests about the hair, then she puts Shida on ropes to CHOKE her! The ref counts, Anna lets off at 4 again, and she drags Shida around to CHOKE again! The ref reprimands, counts, and Anna lets off to drag Shida up. Shida throws body shots, Anna returns those, and Anna snap suplexes! Cover, TWO! Anna is frustrated, but she drags Shida back up and into a full nelson.
Shida endures, fights up, and she breaks the nelson! But Anna throws her down by her hair! The ref reprimands, but Anna drags Shida up again to ROCK her with a right! And then COMPLETE SHOT! Anna soaks up the heat as she storms up on Shida and digs her boots in at the corner. The ref counts, but Shida stands to her feet, while Rampage goes to break!
Rampage returns and Anna fires forearms with Shida! The fans rally behind Shida, but Anna SLAPS Shida! Anna eggs Shida on, so Shida ROCKS Anna with forearm after forearm! The fans fire up as Shida hammers away and makes Anna drop to her knees! Shida runs, to SLIDING FOREARM! Then she drags Anna up to suplex, and BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Anna survives and Shida is furious, but Shida bumps Anna off buckles. Fans fire up with Shida and she runs corner to corner, but Anna slips out and PENDULUM KICKS! Anna runs in, Gory Especial, and GORY BOMB! Cover, TWO!!
Shida survives Anna’s shoutout to Tay Melo, and the fans fire up! Anna drags Shida up, wrenches and HOOK- NO, Shida ducks to waistlock! Anna throws elbow after elbow, but Shida hammerlocks and LARIATS! Shida drags Anna up, suplexes, FALCON ARROW! Cover, but Anna victory rolls, TWO!!! Shida escapes by nanoseconds, but Anna has the QUEENSLAYER!!! Shida flails, pushes back, slips free and KNEES Anna in the back! Shida runs to TAMASHII SLIDING KNEE!! Cover, TWO!!! Anna survives now, the fans fire up and Shida drags Anna around. Shida sits Anna up then goes up the corner. METEORA!!!
But Shida isn’t done there! KATANA KICK!!! Cover, Shida wins!!
Winner: Hikaru Shida, by pinfall
Anna came so close, and even drew some blood as Shida wipes her lips. But is this a sign that Anna is almost at that championship level? Will Shida move on to grab gold once again in the New Year?
Team Triple Jay speaks.
Sonjay Dutt brings a cameraman along for this “family meeting.” Sonjay wants them to be locked in this room. And if this team doesn’t get back on the same page, they’ll keep meeting like this every week until they get back on that same page. There’s a big tag match because Sonjay wants them to get back on the playing field and on those winning ways. Jay Lethal doesn’t know how a tag match is supposed to help, but Karen says we start with an official name. She’s been here nine months, what’s their actual name? Jeff Jarrett says maybe the name should include the word “loser” on behalf of Lethal!
Sonjay has Jarrett hold on and Lethal tells Jarrett, “Who the hell you talking to?” Jarrett asks Lethal just how many matches he’s won recently. Then compare it to how many Jarrett’s won. Jarrett beat Jeff Hardy to become Texas Chainsaw Massacre Champion! He beat Dax Harwood, and he beat Eddie Kingston in a Memphis Street Fight, and look where that got them! Eddie’s the one on top of the world now! Lethal says Jarrett wouldn’t have won any of those matches if not for Lethal, so really, Jarrett hasn’t won s*it!! Is that right? Lethal wants to tell the two-time Hall of Famer, the TWELVE-TIME World Champion, he needs Lethal’s help?
Jarrett says Lethal should just get the hell out and go start his own winning streak! Karen & Sonjay work to cool things off, this is the opposite of what this meeting is about. Sonjay says they can try again next week. Are we witnessing the end of the team unofficially known as Triple Jay?
ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta VS Komander w/ Alex Abrahantes!
The Decoder could NOT crack the puzzle of the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil, Hook. As such, he is NOT FTW Champion after a brutal FTW Rules match at Worlds End. However, will he redeem himself by holding onto the title he has? Or will the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion leave Newark a double champion?
Our judges tonight are Jimmy Jacobs, Christopher Daniels & Pat Buck. The introductions are made, the ROH belt is raised, and we see who is the better Pure wrestler!
The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings and we are on the clock. The two circle as the fans rally up, and then they tie up. Yuta wrenches, wristlocks, but Komander rolls, wrenches and wristlocks back. Yuta rolls, handsprings, and slips through to back drop! Yuta keeps the arm to cording hold, but Komander moves around. Yuta steps over to trap the head and then has a double wristlock. Komander fights through, reaches out, CLUBS Yuta’s legs, and then has the ROPEBREAK! That is his first of three and Yuta smirks. We’re only a minute in and Yuta feels good about the pace. Yuta CHOPS Komander, then soaks up the heat.
Yuta CLUBS Komander, whips him, but Komander reverses to knee low, snapmare, and step over to then hook a leg. Komander uses that to roll Yuta and get La Magistrol! Then a HALF CRAB! Yuta endures, flails, grits his teeth, but Komander’s special angle on the hold is particularly painful, so Yuta uses a ROPEBREAK! Komander lets go and now both men have just two. The fans rally and Yuta is frustrated already. Yuta swings, misses, and Komander headlocks. Yuta powers out but Komander whips. Komander hurdles, redirects, jumps over the dropdown then stands Yuta up to whip again. Yuta reverses and he avoids the handspring!
Komander BOOTS the lariat, then RANAS Yuta into ropes! Yuta bails out, Komander builds speed, but stops as he sees Yuta duck down. Komander then adjusts to PLANCHA, but Yuta moves aside! Yuta UPPERCUTS Komander, the ref warns Yuta but it was hard to say if that was closed fist. Yuta drags Komander up, and he ARMBAR DDTS Komander to the floor! Komander writhes, Yuta soaks up the heat, and we pass three minutes as we go picture in picture.
Komander rises up, Yuta goes back out after him, and Yuta pushes Abrahnates aside so he can fire forearms! Yuta takes Komanders’ bad arm to SMACK it off the apron! Yuta then stands on the apron, stands on the bad arm, and he soaks up the heat. Yuta then springboard STOMPS the arm! Komander clutches the shoulder, but Yuta refreshes the ring count. Yuta CLUBS Komander, pushes him around, and ROCKS him with a forearm. Yuta throws Komander into the ring, taunts the fans, and he soaks up more heat. Yuta drags Komander up, mocks the fans rallying for Komander, then kicks at Komander.
Komander throws body shots but Yuta stomps him down. Yuta SENTONS, then covers, TWO! Komander hangs tough, but Yuta isolates the bad arm. Yuta stands on the arm, to then STOMP it! Komander writhes, goes to a corner, then along the ropes. Yuta follows after to bump Komander off buckles. Yuta watches Komander stagger around, and then reels him into FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Not quite perfect, but Yuta stays on Komander with a facelock. Yuta shifts to have a double wristlock, and he again steps over Komander’s head for more torque. Komander endures, reaches out, and has the ROPEBREAK!
Yuta smirks, that is the second of three for Komander, and we’re only at six minutes. Yuta brings Komander up, hook shim up in a Gory Especial, and Yuta bends Komander back! Yuta pulls on those arms, but Komander endures. So Yuta RAMS Komander into a corner, then carries him back out to bend the arms in the Gory Especial. Then Yuta RAMS Komander into buckles again! Yuta keeps Komander hooked up and we return to single picture. Komander still endures, even as Yuta bends the arms back again! Fans rally, Komander fights and SUNSET BOMBS Yuta into buckles! The fans fire up as Komander then cradles, TWO!!
Yuta escapes, hurries back up, but Komander throws body shots and kicks! Komander then ducks ‘n’ dodges and tilt-o-whirls, only for Yuta to stop the DDT! Komander ducks ‘n’ dodges again, to springboard MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up as Komander runs in from a corner and uses Yuta as a step to go up the corner! The bad arm slows Komander down, but he still FLYING TORNADO DDTS!! Yuta flops around and Komander hurries to cover, TWO!!! Yuta survives and we’re past eight minutes. Abrahantes coaches Komander and Komander rams the bad arm into buckles to get it working right.
Komander climbs up as best he can, to then PHOENIX- NO, he has to bail out as Yuta moves! Yuta runs up, spins Komander around, PAIN THRILLER! Cover, TWO!! Komander’s still in this but Yuta has the DOUBLE WRISTLOCK! Komander endures, we pass nine minutes, making this one of Yuta’s longer Pure Rules matches! Komander crawls, reaches out, and has no choice but to use his FINAL ROPEBREAK! Yuta grins, he has Komander where he wants him! Yuta soaks up the heat, but Komander gets him in a victory roll! TWO!! Yuta escapes, swings, misses, and Komander tilt-o-whirls to RANA! Cover, TWO!!
Fans fire up, Yuta ducks the roundhouse but not the HEEL KICK! Komander runs, but Yuta BOOTS him! Yuta runs, but Komander dodges and RANAS again! Yuta REWINDS, to shoot around, GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Yuta holds on and he drags Komander around to a SEATBELT! TWO and Komander sunset flips! TWO!! The bad arm was holding Komander back on that! And now Yuta has hold of Komander for HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS!! Yuta throws down the BCC signature, and Komander is a ragdoll! Yuta has the KIMURA!!! Komander endures, fights to ropes, but it doesn’t matter anymore!!
Abrahantes pleads with Komander, knowing there’s no other hope! But Komander can’t endure, he TAPS! Yuta wins!
Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by submission (still ROH Pure Champion)
Yuta may have needed 10 minutes and 45 seconds, one of his longest Pure matches ever, but he still won out! Komander’s speed could not keep up with Yuta’s technical savvy, and now Yuta is on his way to setting most combined days as Pure Champion. Will anyone ever take this title from Yuta? Or will 2024 be the Year of the Decoder?
My Thoughts:
A really good Rampage, and I gotta say, I really liked how the Pure Championship match went for the main event. It was still quite a ways away from the time limit, but just as I said, it was one of the longer Pure matches I’ve seen Yuta compete in. Really need to see the Pure Division go towards 15 minutes or so, though. Yuta retaining was of course happening, but I was kinda hoping Hook was gonna show up to establish that he and Yuta are gonna have a Pure Rules match now. I’m sure we’ll still see that down the line, but why drag it out? Good promo from not actually Triple Jay, I guess I just latched onto some random nickname that was given to them at some point. And speaking of not dragging it out, let’s just get to Jarrett VS Lethal already, that’ll be good stuff.
Really good Six Man Tag to open the night, and great win for Briscoe & The Hardys. Feels like they’re not sticking together, though, as we also got a really good promo from the Hardys with Private Party. That’s going to be a good match, maybe even a feud. As I said on Dynamite, here’s hoping Private Party gets towards the World Tag Team Championships. Le Sex Gods had a good promo to hype up Sammy VS Ricky on Dynamite, that’ll be good stuff. But as I also said on Dynamite, feels like they should really be keeping Jericho out of the spotlight for a bit while the allegations are sorted out. I’m thinking that maybe Starks & Bill should hold onto the titles given that, too.
Really good promo from the X-JAS and clearly, the plan Saraya & Harley are cooking up now is that Harley seduces Parker to break him and Ruby up, thereby keeping Ruby in the Outcasts. Though, given that, it will blow up in Saraya’s face and make Ruby even more likely to leave The Outcasts. While Toni Storm becoming “Timeless” Toni is a great outcome for her leaving The Outcasts, I kinda wish there was a way for The Outcasts to grow stronger, and Ruby ditching Saraya might be the opposite. But great match from Shida and Anna, Anna is just getting better and better in there. Quite the ref botch on that count, though, that was rough.
And while the tag match itself was a big squash win for Kris & Willow, I find it interesting that Stokely’s new tactic was to flirt with Kris. Is this just a tactic? Or is the story really now that Stokely does like Kris? Either way, it was funny, can’t wait to see what Stokely tries next.
My Score: 8.7/10

Backstage interview with Billie Starkz.
Lexy Nair is with her ROH Minion buddy, and notes that Billie is the first ROH woman entered in the first ever WrestleDynasty International Women’s Cup! Billie, what an opportunity, how are you feeling? She is excited! This is the second chance she’s been waiting for, and- Red Velvet steps in to say more like NO chance. Because see, Velvet is also in that match, and well, she already beat Billie. So her odds are looking really good. But then in steps Leyla Hirsch. And she says lucky for them both, because Leyla’s in this! Leyla beat Velvet once, and just looking at Billie, Leyla knows she can beat her.
Oh but then in steps the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena! The Minion Overlord defends her bestie and Billie, and says it is finally time for the Athena World Tour! She is the fourth participant, even though, why does she have to qualify for HER show? Athena has beaten Velvet, she’s beaten “Small fry” Leyla, and well… Billie Goat, we all know Athena dog walked her! Velvet says Athena shouldn’t talk to Billie like that. Billie says “Cupcake” doesn’t need to defend her. Things are getting tense already, who wins their way into WrestleDynasty’s massive crossover match?
Backstage interview with QT Marshall.
Lexy is now with QT and says later int he Zero Hour, it is QT VS Big Boom AJ. QT took AJ out last night after the weigh-in, will it be the same here tonight? QT wants Lexy to remember, pronounce it “Mar-shall.” And yes, in QT’s home state of New Jersey, the best part will be QT remembering why he left. It’s a dump! Especially Newark! But AJ is also from New Jersey, and he properly represents this dump. Whether AJ is on the Tonight Show, on TikTok, or here in AEW, he is the epitome of someone from The Garden State: an embarrassment! He’s worse than Bruce Springsteen himself!
And tonight, in a sold out crowd that QT drew all himself, it will be like going to his high school reunion and showing how he is more successful than everyone else. And he’ll do that by walking to the ring, staring down AJ, and bringing the doom! Will QT Marshall make himself the boss of the Zero Hour? Or will it be a BOOM for all of New Jersey when QT loses?
New Year’s Day is a NEW ERA for AEW!
Starting Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, AEW Dynamite will be SIMULCAST on Max! And even bigger, it is the return of Fight for the Fallen! All proceeds go to helping victims of Hurricane Helene in Ashville, North Carolina.
Zero Hour – Fatal 4 Way: Dante Martin VS The Beast Mortos VS Komander VS Buddy Matthews!
Now this is going to be a fast ‘n’ furious match! Angel Dorado, the menacing minotaur, the Commander of Space and the Aussie Juggernaut are all fighting for opportunity, who makes that greater impact?

Rampage returns and…
Lexy Nair welcomes us back, while also welcoming us to the official Full Gear Zero Hour weigh-in. Please welcome first, QT Marshall! The fans boo as QT makes his return to AEW TV, and he shows off the “DOOM” logo on his track jacket. QT steps into the ring and now Lexy welcomes out Big Justice and Big Boom AJ! The fans cheer as the Costco Guys are here, giving out high-fives and fist bumps! QT is already annoyed but Lexy says before we get started, do either of them have something to say? QT steps up to say yes, he does! Enough with the “Boom,” first off! Tomorrow night, QT brings the doom!
QT told AJ 20 years ago that he didn’t have it. 20 years later, AJ still doesn’t have it! The fans boo but AJ just shrugs that off. AJ tells QT that QT’s been waiting those 20 years to get AJ in the ring. But AJ’s been waiting ever since QT tossed those double chunk chocolate cookies! The fans cheer that! But AJ says hold on, hold on. He’s got a special surprise for us. He wants someone real special to be at Full Gear to ring the bell when AJ rings QT’s bell and he Power-Booms QT through this ring. QT asks who. AJ says there’s only one guy that can be. They scratch their chins, and yes, it’ll be THE RIZZLER!!
QT is seething but the fans love it! QT gets to business by taking off the jacket and the sweatpants. QT steps on the scale, flexes, and we get the numbers on the tron: 229 pounds flat for QT! Backstage interview with Thunder Rosa.
Lexy is with La Mera Mera and brings up how next week will be an ALL LUCHA Rampage. That must be exciting. Rosa is beyond excitement! It is about time they get some lucha libre to spice up Rampage. Atlantis Jr, Hechicero, and the return of Mystico! C’mon, now! Well what about Rosa? Yes, what about Rosa? Rosa hasn’t had a true lucha match in awhile, but why not? An open challenge for any luchadora or female wrestler that wants after La Mera Mera! In steps Harley Cameron, wearing a Hologram mask, and putting on a robot voice. “Greetings. I am famed luchadora, Harley-gram, the female counterpart to Hologram.”
Rosa is trying not to laugh as “Harley-gram” officially accepts the open challenge. Rosa tells Harley-gram that she looks familiar. Like a certain someone she beat two weeks ago. Does not compute with Harley-gram. Okay, fine. Compute this: Next week, Rosa will yank her cord and shut her down! OH SHUT UP! What? Uh… Danger! Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! “Harley-gram” runs off and Rosa asks if this is really happening. Rosa sighs, but will she just have to reboot Harley back to factory settings?
Ricochet speaks.
“I have had my eyes on the International title since I debuted in AEW. And Takeshita has cost me my chance at becoming International Champion on more than one occasion. I was the last person to pin the International Champion, and I plan on doing it one more time, at Full Gear. At Full Gear, Takeshita finds out what the world already knows: That Ricochet is not from here. Ricochet is outta this world!” The King of Flight is determined to dethrone The Alpha. A great battle from these factions, but it is Strong Style that wins out! Will this happen again when Ishii goes 1v1 with The Learning Tree? Or will Chris Jericho make sure the Age of Nueve lasts forever and ever?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for the go-home to Full Gear, but it was definitely just a go-home. They’re even ending with the November Rain music video from last Saturday as I type this. Good promo from Ricochet to hype up his match with Takeshita, but that’s still a toss-up to me. A part of me does want Ricochet to have the International Champion so Takeshita can enter the Continental Classic and go after Okada like he was supposed to do just a month ago. It really depends on what the Don Callis Family story is going to be with Ospreay and Fletcher, as The Don Callis Family isn’t losing everything at Full Gear.
Great opening tag of Mariah & Mina VS Nyla & Harley, though I really thought that was going to be the main event. But at the same time, of course Mariah & Mina won. No tease for anything at Full Gear so maybe they’ll wait to surprise us with Toni Storm or something tomorrow. Harley becoming “Harley-gram” just to get a rematch with Rosa was hilarious stuff, as does that “All Lucha Rampage” episode they’re hyping up. But oh look, next week is back-to-back Rampage and Collision on a Saturday just to try and undercut Survivor Series. It won’t matter, I’m still watching WarGames and leaving AEW for after, but it’s nice of them to do everything on one night.
Very good filler match of Juice VS Butcher, that was a strong return to singles action for Juice. Very nice Zero Hour matches but I kinda wish they’d given us a segment on TV to set up Deonna VS Anna rather than just announcing it. Maybe there was something social media had but I’m still not someone who follows all the socials. And that Fatal 4 Way is awesome, can’t wait to see who comes out of that a winner. Good promo overall from Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall, but I’m not sure it needed to be a weigh-in. A press conference style segment would’ve been fine, or even a contract signing, but I guess they just wanted to set up QT’s “lay off the cookies” joke. QT stands tall with his cutter taking down AJ, so you can bet AJ dooms QT in the Zero Hour.
Also great Six Man Tag main event, though I don’t think I’ve ever seen a main event without entrances. Great win for Conglomeration, though, but yeah, Ishii sure ain’t winning the ROH World Championship.
My Score: 8.8/10
