NXT checks in with the revived Chase University.

They bought all the stuff back! Even the podium! Andre Chase hugs his podium, and hey! The MVP trophy is back, too! All is right with the world, welcome BACK to Andre Chase University! He formally apologizes for this late start to the Spring semester, they went through “some dark clouds.” But they made it through, all thanks to Jacy F’N Jayne! The class cheers, and Chase says Chase U is finally back, and better than ever! The class cheers Jacy on more, and she smiles. Thea Hail says Jacy is the best, but she’s gotta go talk with Riley Osborne about their date. Jacy smiles and nods, then looks at Jasmine with a bit of a roll of the eyes.

Thea and Riley do talk, but then in steps Adriana Rizzo. The class quiets down, but Jacy says it’s okay. She says tonight is a big night, huh? Tony & Stacks defending the tag titles, then Rizzo VS Jaida Parker. Rizzo says yeah, but that means she’s got places to be. What does Jacy got? Fine… Jacy presents Rizzo with a fat envelope, and Rizzo says it feels a bit heavier than expected. Well, calendar sales were through the roof, so Jacy threw in a little extra in there. And assuming Tony & Stacks retain the titles tonight, please ask them to give some consideration to Duke Hudson & Andre Chase for another title shot.

Rizzo says she’ll see what she can do. Rizzo heads out, Jacy starts up another cheer session, and is clearly enjoying all of this. But will the success of Chase U continue? Or is the other shoe about to drop?

Gauntlet Match: Ridge Holland VS Gallus!

Ridge Da Fridge wants redemption, even if he has to take on Wolfgang and both Coffey Brothers all by himself! Will Northern Grit make it all the way through to the end? Or will this be a fast end to the redemption story?

NXT returns as Gallus makes their entrance. Ridge watches closely, which one is stepping up first? All three men step into the ring, the ref tells them to sort this out. The bell rings, and Wolfie swings! Ridge dodges and fires off in return!

Ridge won the battle with Gallus, but is he losing the war with his own emotions?

Von & Stone regroup backstage.

They both seethe over how their match ended, but Lexis King is there to sarcastically compliment them. “A shame you came up short.” And Stone has got to be sick and tired of losing all the time! Von tells King to get outta here, now. Okay, big guy, he gets it. The truth hurts. And Lexis would love to stick around to swim in their misery, but The King has bigger and better things to do tonight. But Stone’s little boys must be desperate to look up to a winner. When his music starts playing, grab the brats and make them watch ‘n’ learn. Stone is furious but Von says King ain’t worth it. Will King be plenty humbled when he takes on Riley Osborne later tonight?

The No Quarter Catch Crew admires the Heritage Cup.

Drew Gulak tells Damon Kemp, Charlie Dempsey & Myles Borne that the Cup is “a beaut.” Kemp says it could use some shining up, but otherwise it’s in good shape. Dempsey says this cup represents British Rounds wrestling dating back over a century. Kemp says what a bloody shame this is held by a clown. Dar says, “What clown!? SECURITY!” Dar asks how they even got in here! Oro accuses Gulak of sniffin’ Dar’s cup! Shouldn’t they be in Gulak’s basement or something, dousing each other with baby oil and hitting each other with sticks? Because they certainly shouldn’t be anywhere near “the modern day Mona Lisa.”

Oro says these guys are criminals, they wanted to steal the cup! Gulak says relax, relax. “Baby Bear” Dar, they’re just admiring the hardware. Well that’s all they’ll do. They can looky-looky, but no touchy-touchy. And certainly no stealing it away to their little dungeon. Dempsey says there’s no stealing here. They plan on winning it. Dar laughs but Kemp asks what’s funny. Whenever they’re done messing around, Meta Four’s gonna see No Quarter plans on representing Heritage correctly, lads. Oro says he’s not even from London. Dar says they’re not messing around, they’re winners. But will the NQCC throw all four of their guys at Supernova 11 to get that cup?

Lola Vice VS Tatum Paxley!

The Mayor of Vice City has a bone to pick with Lyra Valkyria’s super fan. Tatum has been sticking her nose into Lola’s business ever since Lola won the Breakout Tournament, and is partially responsible for why the cash-in failed! Will Lola make an example out of Tatum tonight? Or will Tatum win this one for The Morrigan?

NXT returns as Tatum makes her entrance, nuzzling the black feather she “got” from Lyra. The bell rings and the two rush in! Lola SPINEBUSTERS Tatum to rain down forearms! Winner: Lola Vice, by submission

Lyra helps Tatum out of the ring, but Lola has the momentum back in her favor. Will the Mayor of Vice City look to #Stand&Deliver for WrestleMania Weekend?

Luca Crusifino talks with Tony D’Angelo.

The Legal Eagle tells The Don, “There’s a fine line between anarchy and justice. I live on that edge. You were pressured into this match, you’re The Don of NXT, hell, you’re the Tag Team Champion! No one should tell you what to do.” Tony asks who even is this? Luca introduces himself and wishes Tony luck. They shake hands and Stacks steps in. Tony says he and Stacks have gotta bring it. Rizzo also walks in, ready to go. She’s got her stuff covered, right? Jaida hits different. Oh yeah, Rizzo got a taste at Vengeance Day. But tonight, she gets the full course! No fear tonight, boys! Tony agrees, no fear.

Stacks says “Miss Parker” won’t know what hit her. Just like Joey Deggastino! Rizzo says “Joey Deggs” was a punk. But she’s gotta go, the boys have to stay in the back. Stacks says they ain’t moving. Rizzo heads out, Stacks likes that she’s all fired up. Tony reminds Stacks that tonight, it’s Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin. They might seem like a circus act outside the ring, but in that ring, those two are destroyers. No guessing, no doubting, crack skulls first and ask questions later. This is Stand & Deliver season, capiche? Capiche. Will the Family make it out of here with all the wins? Or does something go the other way against such stiff competition?

Lyra sets Tatum down backstage.

Shotzi Blackheart comes along and says these two are closer than she thought. Lyra says hi to Shotzi and says Tatum had a rough one out there. Oh, Shotzi saw. Lyra’s got her hands full, so Shotzi’s gonna add to it. They can keep going back ‘n’ forth on social media, or just chop this up here, face to face. Good, Lyra prefers face to face. So Shotzi wants a title shot? Got it, done. Great! This should be easy to put together. Lyra says after she drops Tatum off at the medics, she’ll talk with Ava. Shotzi says she already handled that. Ava just needed Lyra to give the green light. Wait, did Tatum open her eye? She’s actually conscious!

Lyra says see Shotzi next week. Oh, even better. Shotzi wants to walk into Elimination Chamber as the NEW NXT Women’s Champion. Lyra says Shotzi’s got some balls on her. Shotzi says yeah, big ones. Lyra says Shotzi will be walking into Perth empty handed. Well, we’ll see next week. Take care of your friend. Lyra says Tatum isn’t her friend. Tatum “wakes up” and says “So, we’ve got Shotzi next week?” Lyra realizes Tatum heard all that. Will The Morrigan be able to handle the Wild Child while worrying about this loon?

Adriana Rizzo VS Jaida Parker!

Just as Rizzo told Tony & Stacks, there is no one else allowed ringside. No D’Angelo Family, no OTM, just a good ol’ fashioned 1v1 fight. Tony, Stacks & Rizzo won at Vengeance Day, but will tonight be Jaida’s revenge on the Family?

The bell rings and the two circle. They approach, Rizzo dodges to fire off forearms and knees! But then Jaida swats the dropkick! Jaida stomps Rizzo to a corner, fires off hands then more stomps. The ref counts, Jaida lets off, but then fires off on Rizzo again! The ref counts, Jaida backs off again, and Rizzo checks her teeth. Rizzo drags herself up, takes off the earrings, and fans fire up! Rizzo survives but Jaida says Rizzo wants to play. Jaida drags Rizzo up, talks trash, but Rizzo breaks free! Rizzo eggs Jaida on, so Jaida DECKS her! Cover, Jaida wins!

Winner: Jaida Parker, by pinfall

Rizzo showed her toughness, but Jaida showed that it doesn’t mean anything if you lose. Will Jaida be making her way towards the top as we head down the Road to WrestleMania?

Dijak reviews footage.

He watches back his promo of saying he broke Joe Gacy and can break the unbreakable. That’s when he notices Gacy’s mask in the torn. And then he skips to when Gacy surprised him during the match with Ilja Dragunov to bop him right in the face. Dijak slams his fists on the desk, then pushes his laptop away. Gacy’s laugh echoes in his head. Dijak brings out a duffel bag and opens it up. Dijak smiles when he looks inside it. Just what will Dijak do to have his #HardJustice?

Baron Corbin talks with Bron Breakker backstage.

Corbin says there he is, there he is! Look who swole up for tonight! Is he ready for this? Yeah, he’s ready. Wow. That’s all Bron’s got for Corbin? What’s that supposed to mean? Aldis called, he’s upping the money for SmackDown? Really? NO! Bron needs to get his head in the game! Tag team titles! Bron’s thinking about the money train pulling up to his house, he needs to pull his heads down from the clouds. Bron says okay, alright. What does Corbin even mean about Bron’s energy? Bron would’ve thought Corbin would still be partying from the win in the big game on Sunday, talking to Kelce and Swift, getting in on the parade.

Corbin says he’ll still do that, Bron’s not invited, sorry about that, but he’d like to show up with half of the NXT Tag Team Championships on his shoulders. Understand how much this means to Corbin. He hasn’t held WWE gold in six YEARS, he is hungry for this, he needs this. Bron nods and says he gets it. They’re the Wolf Dogs! No! Why not? Why can’t Corbin enjoy it? Cuz it’s not good! But here’s a deal. They can meet in the middle. When they go out there, get the job done and hold up those titles, Corbin will say it one time, just for Bron. Deal? Deal. Let’s go get this done! Now Bron is fired up! But will they be celebrating even bigger than the Super Bowl after tonight?

Carmelo Hayes VS Joe Gacy!

Fans boo HIM for what he did to Trick Williams, but Melo soaks it all up. Will Melo once again make NXT all about him? Or will the oddest anti-hero bring HIM to justice?

Brinley Reece prepares herself.

Kelani Jordan and Karmen Petrovic are there, and Karmen says Brin doesn’t have to prepare this hard for a match. Brin says no way, she wants to be super prepared. She already had her G’s & P’s, grains and proteins. Kelani says it is okay to be nervous. Kiana James is at the top of the division, but Kelani is sure Brin can get this win. But then Lash comes in screeching the brakes. Big Head Brin, do not listen to these girls. Do the opposite. Especially if it’s the so-called “future of the women’s division.” What was that about “fear never crowns a champion?” Guess Kelani will be waiting a long, long time. Lash doesn’t see all the hype.

Maybe that’s because when Kiana saw Lash, Lash wasn’t a threat. Or anything. But that makes Kelani wonder… What does Dar see in her? Oh snap! Jakara says she and Lash should just leave it, they’re all beneath The Meta Four. Lash says bye to the “berry pickers,” but will Lash & Jakara be the ones in a jam soon enough?

Roxanne Perez storms into the locker room.

She hopes this is all a joke. She finally gets her 1v1 shot, Lola cashes in and screws it up! Roxie was literally waiting and fighting a whole YEAR, and now Shotzi comes back and just gets her shot? WHY!? Because she put out tweets? Because she’s on SmackDown? Is Ava just handing out title shots? Gigi Dolin and Arianna Grace ignore the rant, but Wren Sinclair says she knows how Roxie feels. Oh, sorry, does she? Oh wait, no, Wren just got here, so she doesn’t know how it feels. Wren apologizes, she just meant that Shotzi was a former Women’s Tag Team Champion, won WarGames twice, and is on SmackDown.

So maybe, Roxie can ask to face the winner of Lyra VS Shotzi for- ROXIE SMACKS WREN IN THE FACE!! Roxie storms off and no one can believe that! Roxie’s gone past having an edge to having a short fuse, is she going to explode on every other woman in the division?

A new mysterious message plays.

“Goodness is a man’s struggle. Evil, however… is human nature.” Just who is sending these messages? And what do they mean for NXT?

Oba Femi is here!

The fans fire up as the NXT North American Champion makes his way to the ring, returning after his incredible battle with Dragon Lee at Vengeance Day. The Ruler grabs the mic to say, “You cannot argue with prophecy. I’m still the NXT North American Champion! I’m still the Mountain of NXT! I’m still the man, Oba Femi!” The fans cheer that! Oba tells Dragon, “you are a proud warrior. But I showed at Vengeance Day that it takes more than just a fighting spirit to take this title from me. A championship around the waist of a superstar means prestige. But for me, it represents supremacy. Which makes me the alpha species of NXT!

“Dragon Lee was the first casualty, but he will not be the last. So you can send anyone! Send anyone to try to take this title from me! But don’t send anyone that you want back.” Wait, Lexis King makes his way out here? He says, “Wow, wow, wow! Oba Femi, The King just wanted to come out here and personally congratulate you on all of your success! But I gotta be honest, Oba… I’ve been wanting to get something off my chest. I hear you’ve been calling yourself The Ruler, and well, everybody knows I’m The King, so… I just think it’s a little funny, y’know?” Oba wants King to make his point.

King’s point is, he softened up Dragon Lee so Oba could cash in his Breakout contract. So it was The King who placed that title on Oba’s shoulder! And he’ll be damned if it isn’t The King that takes it off him. Oba says he doesn’t deal with empty threats. Well then, Oba, that wasn’t a threat. That was a promise. And The King always keeps his promises. Oba says King will get his title opportunity next week. But Oba promises King that this throne won’t be one he sits on any time soon. King then fires sucker punches! King mule kicks a leg, reels Oba in, but Oba TOSSES King away! Oba kicks low, reels King in, but King runs away!

The fans fire up behind Oba, will he prove he is THE Ruler of NXT?

Josh Briggs talks with superstars backstage.

They talk about the Super Bowl and all its physicality. Tonight’s main event will be just as hard hitting, though! Dion Lennox has his money on the Wolf Dogs. What? Really? Keanu Carver can’t believe he’s going for those two when- Brooks Jensen storms in! “Hey, Briggs! You want me to grow some balls?!” Briggs asks back, “It took you a whole week just to think of that?” Jensen says here they are! They brawl!! The others rush in to stop this, but Briggs gets loose of Hank ‘n’ Tank to fire off more! Ava Raine rushes in to shout enough! If they want to do this, they do it in the ring, not back here!

Jensen and Briggs are fighting, just like when they first met all those years ago, but it doesn’t feel like this is gonna end with them being best buds. Will Briggs go from tough love to just beating Jensen’s ass? Or will Jensen finally stop floundering and stand on his own two feet?

Ilja Dragunov tweets a response.

The Mad Dragon tells Melo, “It’s easy to speak about me without fear when you know I’m home in German recovering and spending time with my son. But one day soon, we’ll see if you have the guts to speak that way to my face. Your day of reckoning is coming, Melo.” The Czar puts HIM on notice, when will these two have it out one more time?

Brinley Reece VS Kiana James w/ Izzi Dame!

#BrinEnergy is all but limitless, but that means there is a limit. Will the Calculator have the winning formula to exhaust Brin’s Reece-sources? Or will those numbers be off the charts?

NXT returns as Brin makes her entrance. She even gets some quick jump-push-ups in to keep herself fired up. The bell rings and Brin ties up with Kiana. Kiana wernches and has the cording hold to grind Brin’s shoulder. Brin endures, fights up, and she whips, only for Kiana to reverse. Brin handsprings up and over the dropdown to then arm-drag and run Kiana over! Izzi is mad for Kiana as she bails out, but Brin pursues. Brin tells Izzi to back off, Kiana runs up but Brin puts her in the ring. Kiana distracts the ref, Izzi CLOBBERS Brin! Fans boo as Kiana’s insurance policy pays off already.

Kiana then stomps away on Brin, has her in a corner, and brings her around to bump off buckles. Kiana handsprings and runs in to RAM Brin! Kiana pushes Brin around, taunts her, whips her, then ELBOWS her down! Kiana looms over Brin, pushes her around, then whips her again. Brin reverses but Kiana holds ropes to stop herself. Kiana then turns Brin’s back drop into a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Kiana clamps onto Brin with a chinlock and the fans rally up. Brin fights to her feet, throws body shots, but Kiana still clinches. Brin fires more body shots, then JAWBREAKERS free! Brin goes to ropes, Kiana runs up but into an ELBOW!

Kiana runs back in, Brin runs her over! And runs her over again! Izzi gets on the apron, but backs away when Brin takes a swing! Brin dodges Kiana and HANDSPRING LARIATS! The fans fire up as Brin fireman’s carries, and squats into the TKO! Cover, TWO! Brin is frustrated but she drags Kiana back up. Brin scoops but Kiana slips free, REVERSE DDT! Kiana runs to 401K! Fans boo but Kiana doesn’t end it there, BANKRUPTER! Cover, Kiana wins!

Winner: Kiana James, by pinfall

That modified Code Breaker tops it off, and Izzi celebrates with Kiana. Will this Girl Boss continue to gatekeep the new wave of superstars? Or will that rising tide wash her and Izzi both away soon enough?

Ava Raine is on the phone.

She tells whoever it is that the issue is already handled: Briggs VS Jensen goes down next week. But then Roxie storms in and Ava tells the other person she’ll talk to them later. Ava asks if Roxie punched Wren in the locker room. Roxie asks back if Ava gave Shotzi a title shot outta nowhere. No, no, Ava’s question first: did Roxie punch Wren? Yeah, fine, she did. Just wrong place, wrong time. Oh no, there is no such thing as “wrong place, wrong time” here, Roxie. You can’t just go punching people! And because of that, Wren already asked for her 1v1 with Roxie next week. Fine, give it to her. Ava did.

And when that is done, Ava and Roxie can talk about what Roxie really wants, which is obviously another shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Seriously? Seriously. Roxie leaves, satisfied for now. But will that rage boil back up if she lets the new girl get one up on her?

Malik Blade and Edris Enofe talk backstage.

Malik feels bad for Brin. After what Kiana & Izzi did to her last week, taking her drink right outta her hand… And then the face she made after, and how she got cheated in the ring… But Edris says this could be a good thing. Now Brin knows how they feel! No more happy-go-lucky positive attitude. A loss hurts, no matter who it is. No, man, no! When they were down and out, Brin was there for them. So when she comes in through that curtain, she will surely be down and maybe even out. Can they at least be there for her like she was for them? Edris says okay, okay, Malik is right. And Edris has an idea.

What if, just spit-balling here, they make her do five likes~ and five dislikes~ about that match? Malik says Edris is heartless. But wait, Brin handsprings her way in? What a buzz! Whoever said experience is the best teacher wasn’t lying. Kiana’s got the experience, but now Brin’s motivated to train harder, get better, and- Whoa, hold on, hold on. Is Brin really telling them that she ain’t mad? Mad? Yeah, like angry. Angry? Edris, Brin’s never felt better! Brin handsprings away, and Malik says that is someone who practices what they preach. Will Brin’s spirit be infectious enough to get Malik & Edris on the right track?

NXT Tag Team Championships: Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo VS Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin!

The Don & The Underboss have had their ups and downs in the NXT Tag Division, but they’re still on top, for now. Will Tony & Stacks survive this Road to WrestleMania Weekend? Or will the Wolf Dogs make good on their Dusty Cup win to make even more history?

The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see which dynamic duo keeps their promises!

The teams sort out, Bron and Tony start and they circle. They tie up, go around, and fans duel as they end up on ropes. Bron slips away from Tony and the two reset. They circle again, tie up again, and Bron headlocks. Tony powers up and out, but Bron runs Tony over! The fans fire up and bark for Bron, but Tony gets up in a huff. Tony and Bron reset, tie up, and Tony headlocks. Bron wrenches out, headlocks again, but Tony powers up and out. Tony drops down, gets up, but Bron redirects hit. They RAM shoulders and it’s Bron who falls! The fans are torn as Tony tags Stacks. They whip, body shot and SHOTGUN!

Tony scoops Bron to SLAM him, Stacks covers, TWO! Stacks keeps on Bron with a little bit of smack talk as he throws knees. Bron body shots in return, then brings Stacks over. Tag to Corbin, the Wolf Dogs mug Stacks, and Corbin bumps Stacks off buckles. Corbin runs but Stacks dodges! Stacks runs in but is put on the apron! Stacks RAMS into Corbin, slingshots, but into a HAYMAKER! Corbin shows off the golden gloves, then goes up and leaps, into a SHOULDER TACKLE! All four men are down and the fans cheer on “NXT! NXT!” as NXT goes picture in picture!

Corbin and Tony slowly roll out of the ring, and Stacks gets up to throw down hands on Bron. Stacks UPPERCUTS Bron to a corner, brings him around and bumps him off buckles. Tag to Tony, the D’Angelos mug Bron in the corner, then tag back to Stacks. The mugging continues, then tag back to Tony. Tony stomps a mudhole, then tag back to Stacks. The D’Angelos get Bron up for a DOUBLE SUPLEX! Stacks hits a FIST DROP, then covers, TWO! Stacks stays cool and talks some more smack on Bron. Stacks brings Bron up, but Bron wrenches and fireman’s carries! GUTBUSTER DROP! Stacks flounders away but to the Wolf Dog corner!

Tag to Corbin and Bron sets Stacks up. Corbin runs in to clothesline! Corbin RAMS Stacks, RAMS him again, and again! Corbin then DECKS Stacks with a right! Corbin stares Tony down while Stacks flounders to an open corner. Corbin whips corner to corner then clotheslines Stacks down! Corbin taunts Tony, hauls Stacks up and whips corner to corner again, for another clothesline! NXT returns to single picture as Corbin brings Stacks around. Stacks counter punches and fires off! Corbin shoves Stacks and scoops him for DEEP SIX! Cover, TWO! Stacks toughs it out but Corbin stomps him down.

Corbin hauls Stacks up, puts him in a corner, and fires off body shots. Stacks sputters but Corbin ROCKS him with a right. Corbin puts Stacks up top, ROCKS him again, but Tony coaches Stacks to fight back. Stacks counter punches again! And again, and again! Corbin wobbles, Stacks FLYING UPPERCUTS! The fans fire up as both men crawl, hot tags to Bron and The Don! Tony rallies on the Wolf Dogs with big clotheslines! BELLY2BELLY for Corbin! BELLY2BELLY for Bron! SAIDO for Corbin! Bron UPPERCUTS Tony! Bron goes up and up and FLYING- SPINEBUSTER!! Tony intercepts and the fans fire up again!

Tony checks on Stacks, helps him up and then reminds Stacks he loves ‘im. Tony TOSSES Stacks onto the Wolf Dogs! The fans fire up and Tony fetches Bron into the ring. Tag to Stacks, Tony hauls Bron up, LAWN DART NECKBREAKER COMBO!! Cover, TWO!! Bron survives and Stacks is frustrated. Stacks aims from a corner, he fires himself up and runs in, but into a KNEE! Stacks SHOTGUNS Corbin down, fans hope these teams “FIGHT FOREVER!” but this has to end somehow! Stacks hurries to the corner, Tony tags him in. “This is Awesome!” as The D’Angelos mug Corbin. They double whip, but Corbin holds ropes! Corbin ELBOWS Stacks, TOSSES Tony, then DECKS Tony off the apron! Stacks kicks low, goes to ropes, but no Tornado! END OF DAYS!! Tony returns to CLOBBER Corbin!

Tony gets Corbin otuta the ring, but Bron is the legal man, though!! Bron SPEARS Stacks!!! Cover, WOLF DOGS WIN!!

Winners: Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin, by pinfall (NEW NXT Tag Team Champions)

The fans bark along with their new champions, everyone wants to be in the pack! Bron & Corbin get the belts, hoist them up, and Corbin realizes this moment is reality. The championship drought is over, and the fans cheer, “You Deserve It!” Will this huge win for the Wolf Dogs only make Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce fight that much harder to sign Bron to their roster? Or is the Big Bad Booty Nephew staying golden on the gold brand?

My Thoughts:

An awesome, jampacked episode of NXT right here. One thing I do find interesting is that we didn’t get Lexis King VS Riley Osborne, but either they realized they didn’t have time, or Riley was unable to compete tonight. Turns out he’s been engaged to Blair Davenport IRL for about a month now, so maybe there was something he had to do relating to that instead. Lexis still had a good promo talking trash on Von & Stone, and then then calling out Oba to get a title match for next week. I would think Oba beats Lexis, though, he can’t beat Dragon Lee in a great match to then lose to Lexis King on TV.

And speaking of Von & Stone, great tag match against Dar & Oro, especially with their “SNEAK ATTACK~!” move to open the show. Great showing for Stone, it’s been literal years since he last got in the ring on NXT, but of course Dar & Oro win with help from Lash & Jakara. Good promo from Dar & Oro with No Quarter Catch Crew, and I would really hope NQCC takes the Cup. Dar’s done great this whole time, but it feels like the right time for him to move on to another title scene. Let Dempsey carry the Heritage Cup since he is the son of William Regal and a student of British wrestling. Dar can move to the NXT Championship after Stand & Deliver.

Speaking of the NXT Championship, great stuff from that developing scene. Melo VS Gacy was great, but Melo gets a good win to keep himself in the title conversation. Dijak beating Gacy down and putting him in a straitjacket is wild, I wonder if that becomes some kind of stipulation for their blowoff match. As for Melo, good response from Dragunov, and as I said last week, I feel like there’s going to be something happening at Roadblock. Melo VS Trick, winner faces Dragunov for the title, and maybe we even get a Triple Threat? Biggest WrestleMania needs biggest Stand & Deliver, and somehow, every ten years, there’s been a Triple Threat for a top title. If HHH can’t figure one out for the World Heavyweight or Universal titles, let HBK do one for the NXT title.

Good promo from Lash & Jakara with Brin, Karmen & Kelani, too, and I think there’s a tag match in there somewhere. Brin VS Kiana was good stuff but Kiana of course won. It did help feed both stories, though, as Kiana has momentum heading for her match with Kelani, and Brin got to show she can still be optimistic even in defeat. Malik is believing in #BrinEnergy but Edris is still skeptical, I still feel like there could be a break-up there. And what a great promo from Briggs and Jensen, because of how funny it was for Jensen’s comeback to be so simple. Briggs VS Jensen will be great stuff, can’t wait to see it.

Really good match from Tatum VS Lola, with Tatum finding a new gear after Lyra showed up to support her. Great win for Lola, though, and Shotzi showing up to get her title shot is good stuff, because it also adds to Roxie’s story. Roxie’s promos had great layers to it. Gigi and the others are so done with Roxie’s complaining, but she shocked everybody when she just smacked poor Wren in the face! Roxie will of course beat Wren next week, but it feels like Roxie is creeping ever closer to a Heel turn. And no offense to Shotzi, she’s great, but this feels like Lyra is getting one more title defense win before Roadblock and Stand & Deliver, where she might actually lose, depending on who it is facing her.

And of course, great stuff with the D’Angelos through the night. Good Chase U promo with Rizzo collecting the D’Angelo’s share, and really good match of Rizzo VS Jaida. I figured Jaida would get the 1v1 win, she’s had a touch more experience, and it evens things up from Vengeance Day. Awesome tag title match, still a little surprised it happened here and not Roadblock or something, and awesome win for the Wolf Dogs. Not sure how long this lasts with the “courtship of Bron Breakker” story going on, and maybe Roadblock centers around where Bron is going, if he brings Corbin with him, or if this breaks the duo up just as fans were getting behind it.

My Score: 9/10

Koguma & Maika intercept AZM & Starlight!

The fans rally while Yuna endures, and then AZM & Starlight break free! They both stomp Hazuki! Koguma & Maika drag Starlight & AZM back out, Hazuki CLUBS Yuna and whips her to ropes. A fast ‘n’ furious fight from three rising stars, and it was the Wildheart that finishes it off! Will we see this Triple Crazy trio soon go for the IWGP Women’s and/or NJPW Strong Women’s Championships?

10 Man Tag: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano, YOH, Ryota Chikuzen & TAJIRI VS TMDK!

As The Ace’s Final Road continues to roll on, this is quite the unique stop. Sure, he’s teamed with the Clown Prince and Mr. Direct Drive before, but he is now honored to be teaming with The Makai Love Machine and yes, THE Japanese Buzzsaw! Will Tanahashi & Tajiri add to their legends with this epic team-up? Or will Zack Sabre Jr, Ryohei Oiwa, Robbie Eagles, Kosei Fujita & Hartley Jackson prove that The Mighty Don’t Kneel?

Just as always, Tanahashi shows off the abs, the fans cheer, and Yano even adds a “Sugoi~!” The teams sort out and ZSJ calls out Tajiri! The fans fire up as Tajiri accepts. The bell rings, ZSJ and Tajiri circle, and Fukuoka are strongly behind “TA-JI-RI! TA-JI-RI!” Tajiri and ZSJ feel things out, knuckle lock, and ZSJ rolls to then wrench and wristlock. Tajiri seems rather unbothered, and he slips under ZSJ to then trip him and spread the legs! ZSJ reaches back but Tajiri uses his whole body length! ZSJ pushes up, crawls back, wrenches and hammerlocks, then half nelsons to cravat. Tajiri spins through to wrench and trip ZSJ!

Tajiri has the legs, ZSJ resists then hooks Tajiri to trip him. ZSJ returns the leg sprawl, then has a STRETCH MUFFLER! ZSJ uses it as a means to an end so he can have the BOW ‘N’ ARROW! Tajiri pops free and turns ZSJ over to have a headlock. ZSJ slips out the back, they each want the other’s arm, but then ZSJ top mounts. Tajiri pushes ZSJ away and the fans cheer the standoff! Tajiri and ZSJ feel things out, knuckle lock again, and ZSJ turns Tajiri. Tajiri turns that back around but ZSJ has an arm. ZSJ hammerlocks but Tajiri steps through the ropes, then steps back inside, and he has ZSJ’s arm wrapped around ropes!

The fans cheer, but Tajiri shows respect by respecting the ropebreak. The fans applaud, as does ZSJ, and then they tag out to Yoh and Eagles. The fans join in on “ROBBIE ROBBIE ROBBIE!” but Yoh rolls Eagles up! TWO and Yoh kicks low! Yoh whips, Eagles reverses to go up and around to arm-drag! Oiwa kicks free, runs, but into an atomic drop! The fans rally up while both men are down, and Yano tags in Ryota! Ryota CHOPS Oiwa! Ryota eggs Oiwa on, but Oiwa fires a forearm! Ryota CHOPS again! Oiwa fires another forearm!

Ryota CHOPS, Oiwa ROCKS him, repeat! The fans rally as Oiwa fires a flurry! ROLLING ELBOW! Oiwa runs, but into a BACKDROP! Fujita runs in, but into a scoop and SIDEWALK SLAM! Eagles runs in, into a scoop and SIDEWALK SLAM! The fans fire up with Ryota, and he invites Tanahashi in! They double whip Oiwa, then DOUBLE SHOULDER TACKLE! And then Ryota says, “Genki de masu!” The fans cheer as Ryota and Tanahashi have energy to spare, and Ryota drags Oiwa up. Ryota reels Oiwa in, but Oiwa fights the lift! Oiwa powers up to BACKDROP Ryota! The fans rally, Oiwa runs, SPLASH DOWN! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally more as Oiwa and Ryota rise. Oiwa whips Ryota to a corner, runs up, but Ryota LARIATS him down! Oiwa is up to LARIAT Ryota! Both me are down now and the fans rally again. Hot tags to ZSJ and Tanahashi! One more meeting between these two after yesterday’s final singles match, and the two dosido in a battle of Cobra Twists! Tanahashi has the COBRA TWIST! ZSJ pries free to have the COBRA TWIST in return! But Tanahashi powers out, has a leg, DRAGON- NO, ZSJ sits down for the ARMBAR! Tanahashi stacks ZSJ, TWO! ZSJ RAMS Tanahashi, snapmares, but Tanahashi UP KICKS!

Takagi points out that he, on the other hand, has no belt, no wife, no kids. “And now it looks like my faction is done… But that doesn’t mean I need to hang my head. I’ll soar to the top!” The fans applaud, and Takagi says the G in IWGP stands for Goto, right? But oi, oi, oi! You can’t spell “Shingo” OR “Takagi” without a G! He has two G’s, so he wants his shot at the title. At least, he’d like to say that. But he has no objects to Zack. Takagi did lose to ZSJ last time. So then Takagi will wait to challenge the winner of Goto VS ZSJ! The fans like that, too! Takagi says if it’s about G’s, Goto can’t argue Takagi’s point!

The three men all look to each other, and it looks like the deal is struck. Fierce Warrior VS Front Man, and the Rampaging Dragon gets the winner! Who will stand on the summit of NJPW going into the summer? Takagi and ZSJ take their leave, and Goto continues. “Again, thank you very much for coming today!” The fans applaud, and Goto says, “No matter who I’m up against, I will not be defeated. The Goto Revolution is far from over! Follow it until the very end! Let’s end with Goto’s G’s.” The fans chuckle, and Goto says he knows most of the locales had G in their names. But not in Fukuoka…

Even so, Goto still has this IWGP World title around his waist, so no worries there. IKU ZO! The fans cheer, and Goto says, “The G in IWGP is for GOTO!” The streamers fly, and the Fierce Warrior is ready to lead NJPW on! But will things only heat up from here on out?

My Thoughts:

An awesome event for Wrestling Dontaku’s finale, and we’re already building towards Dominion next month. I was rather surprised that the Six Woman Tag was so quick. Well, I feel like a lot of Stardom matches on a NJPW show end up like that… But the 10 Man Tag with Tanahashi’s team beating TMDK, and then the 8 Man Tag of LIJ winning, both of those matches felt just as fast/short. I suppose on some level, they did it because we all had a feeling who was winning. Tanahashi’s team wins because he also had special guests Tajiri and Ryota, so that was just a great moment for some longstanding legends.

LIJ winning was apparently to also commemorate their last match as a faction. With Titan being their CMLL member, we only have Hiromu, Takagi and Tsuji. I suppose a trio isn’t necessarily a faction, but I’m surprised they just sprang this dissolution on us. Great match from Yota VS Yuya, but I think they dragged it out a bit at the start. It got hot by the end, and Yota retaining was a great move. Gabe Kidd calling his shot is also a great move, he and Yota are going to have a great rematch from their time limit draw. And then awesome main event from Goto VS Callum, with Callum looking great even in defeat. Callum is definitely on his way, maybe he’ll really build up his power level in the G1 Climax this year.

Great promo to close, with Goto, ZSJ and Takagi establishing the next couple of title shots. I think Goto VS ZSJ has been made for Resurgence this Friday, so they’re getting that right out of the way so Takagi can face the champion at Dominion. At the same time, they kinda have to because Best of the Super Juniors is going to dominate May. Resurgence would be a wild place for a title change since it’s in the US and it’s a true PPV, so I’m not liking ZSJ’s chances.

My Score: 9.1/10

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator: Toni Storm w/ Luther VS Lady Frost!

Timeless Toni continues her search for her next “costar,” and she’s crossing paths with the Coldest Wrestler You Know! But will Frost go from ice to gold? Or will she be crossed off the list during this “audition?”

The bell rings, the two shake hands, and the fans applaud. Toni and Frost circle, tie up, and Toni wrenches to wristlock. Frost grabs the ropes to flip through, and she wrenches back. Toni reaches back to headlock but Frost powers up and out. Toni runs Frost over, the fans cheer, but then Frost kips up! Things speed up. Frost handsprings but Toni sidesteps. Frost roll sunder a lariat to roll back and SWINGING headscissor! Toni tumbles out and the fans are torn, but Frost watches Toni go around the way. Frost goes to the apron, avoids the leg sweep, then CANNONBALLS to the floor!

The fans fire up and Frost goes up the barriers. Frost handsprings to MOONSAULT onto Toni! The fans fire up more and Frost puts Toni back in. Frost storms up on Toni to cover, TWO! Toni stays in this but Frost stays cool. Frost whips Toni but Toni hits a THESZ PRESS! Toni rains down fast hands, then fires up! The fans are with her and Toni stands Frost up. Toni scoops for a BACKBREAKER! Frost writhes but Toni brings her back up. Toni hits a FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Not quite perfect, but Toni doesn’t let that bother her. The fans rally as Toni brings Frost up to her feet.

Toni survives and the fans fire up! The fans rally as Frost aims, but Toni ducks the buzzsaw! GERMAN SUPLEX! Frost flounders away, Toni runs up, UPPERCUT! Toni waits on Frost, then gives a very dramatic look. SWEET HIP MUSIC! Then a CHICKEN WING CROSSFACE!! Toni brings Frost down, Frost TAPS, Toni wins!

Winner: Toni Storm, by submission (denies Frost a title match)

The #TCM, Toni’s Classic Move, wins it for her, and Luther hands her a mic. Toni rests on the mat while she says, “This Whore You All Adore… This Slut You Can’t Rebut… This tramp is still THE CHAMP! And my gawd, what a frosty little slop tart. Now I know there’s a fresh batch of tarts back there, wanting to take a shot at this wide load that holds the gold. Yes, that’s right. Everyone’s coming for Toni Storm. But you got it all wrong, darling! Toni Storm comes for everybody! So if you’re tits can take the hits, then I’m not a hard woman to find. I could be right here.” Then she goes outside and says she could be here, or here next to this man.

Or here, down the ramp. Here with this gentlemen, by the stage, or on this bloody boardwalk! Toni goes outside of the arena and says she will be ready, sweaty, here, queer, and TIMELESS~! Toni revels in the brisk evening air of the Atlantic City beach, but who will look to ruin all the fun?

Jon Moxley speaks.

The Maniac AEW World Champion says, “When Katsuyori Shibata woke up on Wednesday morning, his fate was already sealed. He may as well have already been in the hospital. There’s nothing you can do about it, Joe, so I don’t want you to feel bad that all of the people closest to you are dropping like flies. And I struggle to find reasons to dislike Samoa Joe, I really do. The guy defined professional wrestling for a whole generation of us guys. He deserves the respect he commands. Samoa Joe is beyond reproach. But so was Bryan Danielson. Something to think about.

“Steel Cage for the world championship in Chicago. There’s this notion, this idea, that I should be scared to step into a steel cage with Samoa Joe. When you’re the world champion, every opponent is dangerous, every match is hard, every day is hard. I’m gonna do what I always do: my job. And I am exceptional at my job. You wanna lock me inside a steel cage? Lock it. Lock the door, man. This is always how this was gonna end. My affairs are in order. But if you subscribe to this notion that I should be scared, well then you haven’t been paying attention, Joe. You better make sure you thought things through.”

The Maniac has issued a warning, but will Joe even acknowledge it? Or will Joe make Moxley realize what fear really is?

$100,000 High Speed Fatal 4 Way: Rush VS Sammy Guevara w/ Dustin Rhodes VS AR Fox VS Kevin Knight!

Tony Khan’s dishing out more money, and each man has a 25% chance of bringing that jackpot home! Will El Toro Blanco, the Spanish God, the Whole Fox’n Show or The Jet be rolling in dough just in time for Mother’s Day?

The bell rings and the fans rally up for pretty much everyone in this match. All four men watch each other, then approach. Knight CLOBBERS Fox and Rush CLOBBERS Sammy! Rush and Knight then step up to each other. Knight fire a forearm but Rush eggs Knight on! The forearms go back and forth, then Rush CHOPS! The fans “WOO~” and Knight CHOPS! Rush CHOPS, and Rush wants Knight to man up! Knight CHOPS, Rush HEADBUTTS! Rush stomps away on Knight, stomps away, then “takes” Knight’s head to “punt” it into the crowd. Rush has the fans behind him right now as he and Knight speed up.

Knight drops down, then hurdles over, but Rush leaps! They keep moving, Knight scoops and SLAMS! Then UFO- NO, Rush moves! Rush arm-drags Knight, Knight arm-drags Rush, and then dropkicks cancel out! Both men kip up and the fans fire up! Cole is still on commentary, he likes this one, too. But then Fox and Sammy DROPKICK Rush and Knight out of the ring! Dustin checks on Sammy and he’s alright. Knight drags himself up with the ropes but Rush runs up to BODY BLOW! Rush whips corner to corner, CHOPS, then sits Knight down. Rush runs corner to corner, runs back in, but feints Knight out to BOOT him! Rush soaks up cheers and jeers before he rolls back and tranquilo! Sammy sends Fox into barriers, Rush feeds off more energy, then Rush goes out to SMACK Fox down! Rush HEADBUTTS Sammy, then SMACKS Sammy off a chair! Dustin coaches Sammy but Rush stares Dustin down. The Natural tells Toro Blanco that there’s no problemo here.

Knight storms up on Rush, but Rush SMACKS Knight down! The fans applaud while Knight slumps against railing. Rush talks some trash, then he smothers Knight! The fans get a bit closer to the action like that, but then Fox runs up on Rush. Rush ROCKS Fox first, SMACKS him off railing, then goes back to Knight. Rush SMACKS Knight, brings him around, and pushes him along the barriers. Rush CHOPS Knight, but Knight CHOPS Rush! Rush CHOPS Knight! Knight staggers away while Rush revels in the cheers. Rush has Atlantic City all cheering him on, and he goes after Knight to KICK his leg! Knight hobbles, but Rush fires body shots!

Rush keeps after Knight, CHOKES him on the railing, and the ref reprimands. Rush doesn’t have to stop, but he does as Collision returns to single picture. Rush whips Knight, Knight reverses, and Rush hits steel steps! The fans fire up while Rush writhes. Knight and Fox are in the ring, and Fox BOOTS first! The fans rally for Fox now, but Knight puts him on the apron. Fox ROCKS Rush, jumps up, but Knight DROPKICKS him down! We can see in the rafters, glowing with blue light, that’s Hologram! The futuristic luchador is very invested as Knight builds speed to DIVE into a DDT from Fox! The fans fire up more as Fox now takes aim.

Knight fights free, gets around the steps, and he leaps off those steps to DROPKICK Rush!

The fans fire up with Knight, and he runs at Rush, only for Rush to THROW him at the ramp!! The fans fire up as Rush storms back up on Knight. They brawl up the ramp and to the stage! Then they go off into some shadowy corner! “This is Awesome!” as Sammy and Fox are now left in the ring. Hologram approves as Sammy torture racks. GO TO- NO, Fox dodges the knee, then goes Matrix to dodge the lariat! PELE! Sammy BOOTS back! Sammy goes up a corner, but Fox is after him, LO MEIN PAIN! And then a 450 SPLASH! Cover, TWO!! Sammy survives and the fans rally up! Fox puts Sammy in the center of the ring, but then goes to the corner?

Fox climbs, aims, SWANTON BOMB onto knees!! Sammy saves himself, torture racks, but Fox fights free! Roll up, TWO! Sammy is up, Fox goes Matrix again, but the JUMP KNEE finds him! Fox sputters, Sammy reels him in, GO TO HOSPITAL!! Cover, SAMMY WINS!

Winner: Sammy Guevara, by pinfall (wins the $100K prize)

Adam Cole applauds, and certainly Sammy’s family is happy he has this money. But Sammy points to Cole, then to the All In sign. Will this Son of Texas get to go All In for the TNT Championship? Will Hologram look to add himself to the mix before too long?

PROGRAMMING NOTE for next week’s Collision!

First: It’ll be live at 8 PM Eastern, just like tonight. Second: It’ll be on TBS, just like tonight. Third: It will be on THURSDAY NIGHT instead of Saturday! Make sure to adjust your DVR accordingly so you don’t miss a moment of the action!

Samoa Joe speaks.

“Hello, Jon. I hope you’ll forgive me, I’m not there at Collision this week, but it’s only because I’m paying you respect by being here in my gym, preparing for what I’ll do to you in a few short weeks. What that is, Jon, is helping you understand. I’m gonna help you understand what happens when you call a man like me out. And you’re going to understand that what you have done to Hook and Shibata is going to be visited upon your man, Claudio, next week. And that all starts with me understanding a little bit about you, Jon. See, I understand that you have the ruthless streak that is required to take on someone like me.

“I understand that you have the ability and the will to come after someone like me. But you see, Jon, I had to put this match in a cage. Cuz there’s something else that I understand about you. The Jon Moxley I look at today doesn’t have the heart to stand in front of me. The Jon Moxley I see today doesn’t have the balls to get into a ring and get into an actual firefight with a man like me. And Jon, come Chicago, at Beach Break, I will break you. And when you turn around to run, with nowhere to go, I am Samoa Joe. I will be the next AEW World Champion. And Jon Moxley, I will make you understand.”

AEW returns and…

Wait, Moxley & Marina are here in person! They beat up a security guard, DUMP him to ringside, and then dare the other guards to try something. Marina gives one guy the briefcase, just to then BOOT him down! Marina storms into the ring and intimidates Arkady Aura to give the mic over. Arkady does as told and then gets out of the ring. Marina hands the mic to Moxley and Moxley snarls while the fans boo. Moxley paces, and he tells Samoa Joe, “I heard what you said. Lemme ask you a question. What exactly is it I don’t understand? Just what the hell is it, Joe, that I don’t understand?”

The fans chant for Joe, and sing, “Joe is gonna kill~ you!” Moxley asks how Joe is gonna explain something to him inside a steel cage. What? Is Joe gonna kick his ass? The fans chant “YES!” So Joe is gonna beat Moxley up? “YES!” Oh, is that what they think? “YES!” Right… Moxley has faced all the supposed baddest men in the business, all shaped and sizes, all organizations and in all countries. Just name one. They all said the same thing as you’re saying, Joe! They were thinking the same things Joe is thinking, until they weren’t! Moxley knows the moment it happens, he can feel it when it happens! Every time!

He feels it every time when they realize they don’t wanna be here anymore. When they stop trying to win and they start trying to survive, and then realize they aren’t in a chess match, but they are in a war! The only difference this time, Joe, on May 14th, it will be both. Joe wants to target his people? Moxley expected nothing less. You think Moxley doesn’t wanna get into a real firefight? Newsflash, brother: Just look at your brothers; it’s been a firefight this whole time. Moxley then drops the mic and storms out the way he came in. Will Moxley step into Chicago and step out of Chicago still the AEW World Champion?

Backstage interview with The Outrunners.

Lexy Nair is with Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum with their 1980s standard definition, and brings up how Roppongi Vice got in their faces and then beat them up. She understands they have a response to that. Truth says yeah, he’s got something to say! Trent, Rocky, Truth gets you’re upset! He gets you feel disrespected. But maybe the Outrunners get a little loud sometimes. So what? Maybe they flex a little too much. So what? Maybe they spin a little too fast. So what?! Turbo says if Rocky & Trent wanna get physical, let’s get physical! They’ll settle this where it counts! When you’re face to face with The Outrunners, some are scared to death! But some are scared to live!

Truth & Turbo shake it out, will the Youngest Men Alive show Azucar & #JustTrent what respect is really about?

Josh Alexander VS Brody King!

The Walking Weapon and the newest member of the Don Callis Family scored big alongside Konosuke Takeshita a couple weeks ago, and they beat down The King of Death to do it. But with The Alpha in Japan for Wrestling Dontaku, will the “Canadian Assassin” be able to win all alone? Or will this Hound of Hell take a nice big bite out of Alexander?

The bell rings and the fans bark for Brody. Brody and Alexander stare down, circle, and then tie up. They’re in a deadlock, Brody puts Alexander on the ropes, but lets off. Alexander goes for a leg but Brody THROWS him away! The fans duel as the two circle again. They tie up, Alexander headlocks, but Brody powers up. Alexander wrenches, hammerlocks, but Brody ELBOWS free! Alexander avoids a second shot and the two reset. They feel things out, then Alexander drop steps to have the waistlock. Brody grabs a chair from the timekeeper’s area, and he CHOPS Alexander into taking a seat. Brody barks and gets space. Brody runs back in, but Alexander slumps down. The fans boo as Brody is denied his splash. But Alexander grabs a leg and BOOTS it against the steel steps! Alexander refreshes the ring count now, and he leaps, into a HAYMAKER! Brody uses antiair on Alexander, then he puts Alexander back in the ring. Brody storms up, but Alexander slides out!

Alexander wraps Brody’s leg up in the ropes, CLAWS at Brody’s face, and he hits a DRAPING NECKBRAEKER on the apron! A wicked combination as Alexander says the bigger they are, the harder they fall. The ref checks Brody while he is down on the ground, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Brody clutches his leg, but Alexander grabs said leg. Alexander SLAMS the leg off the floor, then stalks Brody as he crawls into the ring. Alexander grabs the bad leg to SLAM it against the apron! The ref counts, Alexander stops at 4, then ROCKS Brody! Alexander runs side to side and he BOOTS the bad leg! Brody falls over and Alexander soaks up more heat. Both men slowly rise, and Brody hobbles over to Alexander. Alexander grabs the leg, but Brody CLUBS him down!

Collision returns to single picture as Brody CHOPS again! Brody puts Alexander on the top rope, CHOPS him again, then climbs. Time Limit Draw

Atlantic City is disappointed, and Lance Archer is here to help his Callis Family brother up. Brody wants to keep going, the fans want to keep going, but can Alexander even keep going? Brody powers through the pain to DIVE onto Archer & Alexander! The fans fire up and bark as Brody rises again. Brody wants more, and he fights through security to fight with Archer! Archer takes a seat, Brody puts the guards on top of him! Brody runs to TRIPLE CROSSBODY!! The Murderhawk Monster sputters, refs hurry out here to tell Brody to stop, but Alexander CHOP BLOCKS Brody! Archer KICKS Brody down!

The fans boo as now the Callis Family mug Brody! Archer CHOKES Brody, shouts at the refs, but then helps Alexander up and out of here. Will Don Callis have to pay some fines for his family?

CRU speaks.

Lio Rush says, “It was inevitable that the story ended with the way that it did.” Action Andretti adds, “With Top Flight landing flat on their faces.” They’re not in AEW to waste time. And any more time spent on Darius & Dante is a waste of time. They tried to walk away, drift off into the sunset, but “you two children couldn’t handle being without us.” Top Flight couldn’t stand being in the rearview mirror. CRU hopes Top Flight will learn a lesson. And that lesson is you should #FearCRU. Either you’re CRU, or you’re enemy.

Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge: Max Caster VS ???

Platinum Max is in the ring again, and he tells Atlantic City, “You are lookin’ live at the Best Wrestler Alive!” The fans boo that clearly false statement, but Caster says, “You people just witnessed a 15 minute time limit draw. And that got me thinking. No one in AEW could survive FIVE minutes in the ring with Platinum Max!” The fans boo but Caster says let’s put five minutes on the clock! The tech guys oblige, and Caster says before his next “victim” comes out here, he wants the people here in AC to prove that they’re not just a bunch of drunk, degenerate tourists! He wants them to do the chant correctly!

“Let’s Go, Max! You’re The Best Wrestler Alive! Let’s Go, Max! You’re The Best Wrestler Alive!” Caster is already laughing at how “bad” the fans are doing. That was not full participation, please do better. But let’s get to business! Who can survive FIVE with the Best Wrestler Alive? It’s DANIEL GARCIA! Caster is furious, but will Platinum Max be lucky to survive Red Death?

The bell rings, the time limit starts, and Garcia gets around Caster to fire off haymakers! Garcia stomps away on Caster in the corner, the fans fire up, but the ref counts. Garcia steps off, then stalks Caster along the ropes. Caster throat chops! The fans boo, Caster whips, but Garcia reverses. Garcia dodges Caster to reel him in, TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Caster flounders away and Garcia snarls. Garcia puts up his dukes, does his dance, then SHOTGUNS Caster down! Garcia reels Caster in, PILEDRIVER!! Cover, Garcia wins!

Winner: Daniel Garcia, by pinfall

Literally one minute passed, and Garcia won! Garcia grabs the mic to then call out FTR! “I agree. I just handled my business. You guys handle yours tonight, and I’ma talk to you after.” Garcia has put Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler on notice, what will these three talk about later tonight?

Backstage interview with with Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn.

Lexy is with the Pride of Professional Wrestling & Daddy Ass, and Bowens wants her to remember he is also the 5 Tool Player, the perfect combination of power, athleticism, intelligence, “The Look” and “The It Factor.” Bowens is here in his home state of New Jersey to tell us all that he intends to use all five tools to climb to a championship opportunity. Doesn’t that sound great? But then in steps Blake Christian & Lee Johnson. Vanilla Babyface tells Bowens all he is hearing right now is blah blah blah. Let’s be real: Bowens may have won against Blake three weeks ago, but those people weren’t talking about Bowens beating Blake.

The talk was about Bowens being outshined by Blake! Big Shotty says Bowens needs to listen because he means this with all the disrespect in the world. Johnson believes he is 150% better! After watching Blake soften Bowens up, Johnson knows how to put Bowens down. Bowens says wow, outshined him? That’s not possible. And 150% better? Well, then step up to the plate and get MOLLY WHOPPED by the 5 Tool Player! Any time, anywhere. Blake & Lee leave, when and where will Big Shotty take his shot?

The Gates of Agony VS Ray Chas & Goldie!

The Hurt Syndicate claimed we’d see Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona way down the line after they lost in the AEW World Tag Team Championship match. But the Cameroonian Prince says there are things much worse than death. They took a bite of the baddest apple on the tree, and the Samoan Lion says it made them SICK! Compared to that, only agony awaits! This is a message sent to Big Bill & Bryan Keith, will it be received loud and clear?

The teams sort out, Kaun starts against Ray, and the two step up. Kaun then BOOTS Ray, GERMAN SUPLEXES him, then reels him in. RUNNING SUPLEX! Kaun mockingly applauds, then he puts Ray in the corner to CHOP! Tag to Liona, and Kaun bumps Ray off buckles for Liona to then BACK ELBOW! Goldie SLAPS Kaun, but Kaun grins. Kaun TOSSES Goldie in, Liona runs up and POUNCES him out of the ring! The fans fire up and Liona tags Kaun. Then the Gates run up, HIP ATTACK followed by a METEORA! Then they CLOSE THE GATES on Ray!! Cover, Gates win!

Winners: The Gates of Agony, by pinfall

The CRU is watching ringside, acting unimpressed. But will Kaun & Liona make sure Lio & Action are next after Bill & Keith? But speaking of, Bill calls them out from the tron! Last week, Bill & Keith called them out. They’re in the parking lot. They don’t come to you, you come to them! Kaun & Liona say bet! The Gates leave the ring, go to the back, and find their way to the parking lot! Will we get quite the battle of titans in Atlantic City?

AEW returns and…

The Gates have found the Redwood & Bad Apple! The brawl is on right in front of the Mack trucks! Bill SMACKS Liona off one, but Kaun THROWS Keith into fencing! Bill BOOTS Kaun, kicks more fencing out of the way, then he picks up a swivel chair! Bill SLAMS the chair, but Kaun avoids disaster! Liona SMACKS Bill with a trash can lid! Bill grabs some poor passerby by the face, and THROWS him at Liona! Liona catches the guy, throws him aside, and then he stares Bill down. Only for Keith to jump on Liona with a SLEEPER! Kaun is up and he ROCKS Bill! Liona spins around to swing Keith off him and into a truck!

Bill and Kaun brawl, Liona runs up, but Keith avoids the trash can attack! This brawl is gonna keep going, but the show must go on, too! Will security be able to stop this carnage before it goes too far?

Dax & Cash have gone back and forth with Roddy & Kyle for months now, and this match is about finally settling the score. Who wins when it takes more than just the first lucky opportunity?

The fans fire up, Kyle spins Dax, but Dax blocks a kick! Kyle rolls to have the ANKLE LOCK! Cash grabs Dax’s hands to drag him forward, but Roddy STOMPS Cash’s hands! Dax is caught, Stoke coaches Dax to tap, so Dax taps! Paragon has the first fall!

FTR: 0; Paragon: 1

Big Stoke says that’s the smart move, because there’s still two falls to win anyway. Stoke has FTR regroup, but can the Top Guys pull off the comeback? Collision goes picture in picture.

Stokely argues with fans, and then Dax grabs a chair! Dax throws the chair into the ring, the ref catches it and puts it aside, and he tells them to get in here, the second fall has already begun. The ref starts a ring count but Stokely has FTR settle down first. Dax takes his time before stepping inside. Stokely & FTR huddle up to talk strategy, and Dax starts with Kyle. They tie up, go around, and Dax wrenches Kyle to a wristlock. Kyle breaks free to ROCK Dax, then ROCK Cash! Collision returns to single picture as Kyle keeps fighting off FTR! Dax powers Kyle back, Cash sneaks the tag, and Kyle jumps the dropdown, only for Cash to grab Dax’s hand! DOUBLE LARIAT from the ropes!

Stoke applauds, the fans are torn, but Cash then slingshots to ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Cash stomps away on Kyle, Stoke talks trash, and the ref counts. Cash stops with the stomps and Stokely grins. Kyle sputters but Cash brings him up. Cash clamps on the chinlock and grinds Kyle down. Kyle endures and the fans rally up. Kyle stands, fires body shots, then he runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Cash RAMS him low! Kyle sputters, Roddy coaches Kyle, but Cash sucker punches Roddy! Cash whips Kyle hard into the FTR corner, then he snapmares for another chinlock. The fans again rally as Kyle endures.

Cash grinds Kyle down, Dax sneaks some leverage by sticking his feet in for Cash to push off of. The fans rally, Kyle fights up, and Kyle snapmares free! Roddy CHOPS away on Dax, BOOTS Cash, then he brings Cash around to have him take a seat. The chair broke but Roddy just CHOPS Cash again and again. Stokely cheers as he makes all the difference! Will the Top Guys continue to win by any means necessary until they’re back on top of AEW? WAIT! Daniel Garcia storms his way out here! He has a mic and a crowbar, but which one is he gonna use?! Stoke has Garcia hold on, the ref tells Garcia to stand down, but Garcia says what he really wanted to do is come down and beat all three of them over the head with the crowbar. “But I can’t. Because I have too much love for the both of you. And I thought you two had a lot of love for me, too. Because any time that one of my so-called mentors left me high and dry, left me stranded, you guys were there to pick up the pieces and put me back on my feet.”

The fans rally for Garcia, and Garcia says after what FTR did to Adam Copeland and 2Point0, and then after they tried to break Garcia’s neck, Garcia was left looking for answers. But Garcia realized that he won’t get those answers just standing around having a therapy session with them. The fans say use the crowbar then! Garcia says he has an idea. Next week, it doesn’t matter if it is Dax, Cash, Stokely, all of them, fifteen of them, a hundred of them, FTR, CPR, the ER, it doesn’t matter! Just meet him in the ring so he can beat the answers out of them!! The fans fire up for that! Who will accept this challenge from an enraged Red Death?

My Thoughts:

A very good Collision, but wow, six years and they haven’t learned how to not be redundant. While Moxley and Samoa Joe had good promos, Moxley having two promos is stupid. Skip the video one Moxley did backstage and just give us Moxley responding in anger to what Joe had to say. Same effect, but much more efficient. To be fair, I feel like a good number of this night was thrown together last minute. Because hey look, another match with “prize money” on the line when we know that’s kayfabe. It was still an awesome match from all four guys, with Hologram watching a la Sting and Darby, but what’s the point of a fake money prize? Sammy calls out Adam Cole here, why not make it some kind of TNT Championship #1 contender’s match?

Very good match from Storm VS Frost and a very good promo from Storm, and while we know Mercedes Mone VS Jamie Hayter is set, this feels like someone is going to challenge Storm for Double or Nothing in an attempt to change the All In: Texas plans. The wildest thing they could do is make it Athena as her way of getting to the All In card. They could even make it title for title because it’s Double or Nothing, and the winner brings both those titles to facing Mercedes Mone, and they have ALL the titles on the line because it’s All In! But because it’s that wild, they won’t do it. And to be fair, they really shouldn’t because then who would ever get a belt off the “Ultima Dragon” they create?

Megan of course beats Harley, but I appreciate that it led to Anna Jay making the save. Anna and Harley can certainly make a great team to battle Megan & Ford, but I feel like Megan & Ford win mostly because of Megan. Awesome match from Alexander VS Brody, and I really like that on the same day Konosuke and El Phantasmo have a 15 minute time limit draw in NJPW, Alexander and Brody have one here in AEW. Archer getting involved was also good stuff, but there’s no word on when Buddy Matthews is getting back so I’m not sure the chances of Hounds of Hell VS Don Callis Family.

But after that good promo from the Outrunners, I bet we get them and Brody working together as rather strange bedfellows. Very good stuff with Gates of Agony. They of course squashed their opponents tonight, but I like that we got a brawl of them and the former Learning Tree. Though, the brawl could’ve been a bit better, but I understand how no one wanted to fall on that hard concrete of the parking lot. I’m pretty sure we’ll get a tag match now, helping reestablish both teams in the tag division. But while CRU had a good promo to say they’re done with Top Flight, they’re like chihuahuas barking a big game thinking they can go against Kaun & Liona in a fair fight.

Caster adding a time limit to his Open Challenge was hilarious, since it added to how humiliating it was for Caster to lose fast. And Garcia answering the challenge also helped tie into tonight’s main event with FTR. Which also seemed rather out of nowhere, but it did make sense in story for FTR to go 2 outta 3 with Kyle & Roddy. Great main event with that, and I actually like Stokely’s strategy of forgoing the first fall to avoid any further damage. As such, FTR of course pulled off the comeback to win out, allowing Garcia to confront them. Thankfully, Garcia didn’t side with FTR, I had feared they’d do a lame bit of logic leaping. Garcia against either Dax or Cash will be a great singles match, and I feel like Cope will make some sort of heroic return so Garcia can have a tag partner to face FTR at Double or Nothing. Then Garcia turns.

My Score: 8.7/10
