Renee Paquette opens the show.

“Tonight is all about Big Business, and one of the most anticipated nights in AEW, in one of the most decorated cities in sports. Tonight, our AEW World Champion is in action, Will Ospreay is here in the house, and The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada, along with The Young Bucks, will be inside that ring.” But then a car honks as it pulls in. A very sleek Mercedes Maybach parks, then the doors open and… Who is here in Boston? Or perhaps, it’s Boss-ton?

Mercedes Mone is here!

Boston fires up as the CEO of Wrestling is now All Elite! Mercedes swaggers her way to the ring in a literally huge coat and golden boots. Mercedes steps into the ring, the fans already chant along with “C E O! C E O!” and she soaks it all up. Mercedes gets the mic as the fans continue to chant. “Bostooooon~! I’m home.” The fans cheer and chant “Welcome Home!” Mercedes continues to say that she can feel her heart beating out of her chest! But first and foremost, she wants to say thank you. She thanks them for having her back these past two years. Thank you for giving her the courage and strength to be here.

And thank you for sticking with her through all her lows, her highs, her milestones, her titles, and her history-making moments. And trust her, they will be creating so much magic and so many moments together. Because every single one of them is the reason why Mercedes is here, so thank you. The fans again chant “C E O!” and she says she loves them. And if they only knew how much tonight means to her. How much this means to her, how much wrestling means to her. In so many ways, wrestling has saved her life. The fans cheer that, and Mercedes says wrestling has given her hopes, dreams, and legends like Eddie Guerrero gave her a place where she believed she could do this, too!

The fans cheer for Eddie, and Mercedes thanks Eddie for helping her believe in her dreams. Her dreams led a Women’s Revolution. Her dreams made her the first-ever woman to main event a PPV, in this very building! And her dreams started when she was only 10 years old. At 13, she dropped out of school to take care of her brother. She loves her brother, Joshua. Then her dreams, at 18 years old and only 90 pounds, took her to Chaotic Wrestling where she began her journey to become the greatest woman’s wrestler of all time. And she wants us to know, if she can do it, you can do it, too! The fans cheer that!

“So let’s get down to business, huh? You wanna know why I’m here? Because I need to be here. I want to be here! AEW is the only place where this revolution can be global! And we are going to make that happen. See, I’ve been watching week upon week upon week, and everybody in that locker room… Oh, I can’t wait to tear it up with every single one of y’all. But let’s start with our main event tonight: Riho VS Willow Nightingale!” Fans cheer the ladies getting the main event, and Mercedes brings up Willow and the “unfinished business” there. But for right now, here on Big Business, Mercedes Mone is All Elite!

The fans cheer as the graphic is on the tron! So to the chairman, Tony Khan, thanks so much for the tweet! To all the fans of AEW around the world, say hello to your new CEO! Mercedes takes off the suit jacket to show off her new wrestling gear. When and where will The CEO start running the division as a champion?

Backstage interview with Samoa Joe.

Renee says business is certainly picking up, and she welcomes Mercedes to AEW. But she is with the world champion, who defends his title in mere moments against Wardlow, a man Joe’s pretty familiar with. What does Joe expect tonight? Joe says tonight feels like money, huh? “And Wardlow, what doesn’t feel different is you. Once again, being sent forth by lesser men to pay for crimes that you did not commit. Or did you?” Joe did not forget the last time they were in the ring together. Joe has not forgotten the debts that need to be paid. And Wardlow, you are far overdue.

Tonight, we learn two things. One: Joe takes no quarter as Wardlow has made the biggest mistake of his life. And two: Samoa Joe owns championships in The Garden. The King of Wrestling Television is ready for war, will he shut down the Undisputed Kingdom’s War Machine?

Adam Cole speaks.

In fact, Adam Cole sits down with a book, because it’s story time. “Once upon a time, there was a man, a warrior, called Wardlow. This man for years was deceived and lied to. He was locked away and guarded by an evil man, a true devil. And the only way to free him was to become the unruly warrior he was destined to be. He slayed many beasts and adorned in gold, but something was missing. He longed for a kingdom of brethren who hated the evil man as much as he did. He soon discovered brotherhood, bound by undisputed hatred. The warrior was ready to vanquish the champion, Samoa Joe, and fulfill his destiny, presenting the prize to his king.

“With courage and purpose, he marched into war with the most dominant beast known to man. And with every ounce of strength he fought, and all of the hatred he had for the evil man was unleashed, and he heroically slayed the beast. The precious gold was captured, the prophecy fulfilled, and The Kingdom became whole. The end.” Cole has told us the story as he sees it, but will it come true? Or will Joe rewrite the ending with blood, sweat and tears?

AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe VS Wardlow!

Alex Marvez is backstage.

He notes that tonight is Big Business and that means big things, especially with the AEW Continental Crown Champion, Eddie Kingston, teaming with Penta El Zero Miedo and The Bastard, Pac, against The Elite. He sees them walking up and hopes to get a few words from them. Okada, this is a question everyone wants answered: When he signed with AEW, why did he affiliate himself with The Elite? Nicholas Jackson tells Marvez to have some respect, referring to him as just “Okada.” This is the best wrestler alive today, and you think you’re his friend or something? Show more respect, call him by his full ass name!

Look at the passport! It’s printed “The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada!” Show more respect! Matthew has Nicholas calm down and assures Alex that he is doing a great job. We’ll circle back to Okada in a moment, but Matt can answer that first question. Why did he join up with The Elite? Can’t you feel the synergy of the three best professional athletes in the world? That is Elite, isn’t it? 14 YEARS of friendship that spans the globe. Okada helped The Bucks when they were at their lowest of lows, and they helped Okada out, too. And if you wanna get technical, there’s 14 million other reasons why, right, Rainmaker?

Okada looks into the camera to tell Penta, Pac and Eddie, “I’m coming for you. Anyway, say happy birthday to Matthew.” Oh, right, right! Happy Birthday, Matthew! Thanks. No, no, no. Sing it. Uh… Happy~ birthday~ to you~! Happy~ birthday~ to you~! AEW cuts away from Marvez being bullied into this, but will the first birthday gift for Matthew be a big win for The NEW Elite?

The Rainmaker may have sold out, but part of that is still making tons of money, right? But Okada is also going after some gold with how he went right after the AEW Continental Triple Crown Champion. Will The Mad King, The Bastard and the Man with No Fear prove that money can’t buy you mercy?

Eddie wants right after Okada but the ref keeps him back. The fans fire up already as the trios sort out, and Okada starts against Eddie after all! Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Schiavone says that while there’s a lot on the horizon, like next week’s I Quit Match for the TNT Championship between Christian Cage and Adam Copeland, we also know that at AEW Dynasty, Sunday, April 21st, we have a match you will never forget! Bryan Danielson VS our guest at this time, the one and only Will Ospreay! The fans fire up as the Aerial Assassin makes his entrance! Ospreay is himself fired up to be here, and he gets the fans to chant “OSPREAY! OSPREAY!” with the music. Ospreay shakes Schiavone’s hand and Schiavone says the things Ospreay has been doing in AEW are unbelievable.

The fans chant “BRUV! BRUV! BRUV!” Schiavone says coming up at Dynasty, April 21st, is a match many fans have been looking forward to. Ospreay says yeah, he woke up today and they said, “What you wanna do?” Ospreay says, “Send Schiavone out there, I wanna go talk to the beautiful people of Boston.” The fans cheer that! Ospreay says April 21st, this match means so much to him. His entire career, all he’s wanted to do is emulate the career of Bryan Danielson. Whether it was what he did in Japan, or his enthusiasm for the independents. Whether it was 50 people, 500, or 5,000, Bryan left it in the ring for all the beautiful fans.

And Ospreay is glad to find Bryan is a fan of Ospreay’s work, because Bryan said that Ospreay’s been staring down the lens of a Japanese camera, saying that he is the best in the world. Bryan looked at Ospreay and said, “Prove it.” Ospreay wants to remind Bryan of something that he once said. After Ospreay’s match with Kenny Omega, everyone was talking about one move: The Tiger Driver 91. That’s the double underhook, lift, and then Ospreay drives his opponent right on his knockers, no regard for the body! And y’know what the most violent man in front of a TV camera said? “Was it worth it?”

Fans are a bit torn, and Ospreay says as one of the guys in that match, blood pissin’ outta his own head, and every time his heart beat, more blood came out, but also standing as the winner, Ospreay will tell Bryan now, that YEAH, BRUV, it was worth it! The fans fire up and chant “BRUV! BRUV! BRUV!” Ospreay tells Bryan that while he respects Bryan, this match means a hell of a lot more to Ospreay, and to a lot more to a lot of people around the world. Do you know why? Because ever since Ospreay stepped foot in AEW, there has been a phrase that has been following him around, and he is sure the fans know it!

Ospreay is sure Tony Khan knows it, and all the boys and girls in the back know it! And everyone here now knows it: “Restore the feeling!” Bruv, Ospreay IS the feeling! This match is about reminding people what AEW is! You put the best wrestler in the world against the best wrestler of the 21st century, and only ONE man walks out the winner! The fans fire up for that! Ospreay says he’ll tell you this right now: “The one thing I have learned from Bryan Danielson is that I can have respect for the man that stands opposite me, but the moment I step into this ring, it’s your life or it’s mine, and I don’t plan on dying, bruv!”

The fans are thunderous and chant “BRUV! BRUV! BRUV!” Ospreay says April 21st, “this is about finding out who is THE best wrestler in the world, and let me tell you, because my name is Will Ospreay! And I am on! Another! LEVEL!” Ospreay is ready and so are the fans, will April 21st be when a United Empire becomes a Dynasty?

BREAKING NEWS for Rampage!

The AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament is coming, and not only will there be the #Bracketology, but there will also be Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta VS Evil Uno & John Silver! Will the Freshly Squeezed Best Friends or The Dark Order make big moves going into AEW’s own March Madness? Plus, The United Kingdom’s Roderick Strong, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett take on Top Flight in a Six Man Tag! Will Action, Darius & Dante all earn golden tickets to the Kingdom’s championships? And for the first time ever, Toni Storm teams with Mariah May! Will their tag team debut be another Hollywood blockbuster?

The fans boo as loud as they can as the BCG throw away their super faction with The Acclaimed, and put far more than Darby’s expedition to Everest in question! Will BCG do whatever they want to whoever they want just to get ahead?

Chris Jericho & Hook VS The Gates of Agony w/ Prince Nana!

The Lionheart showed The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil respect after going through the All-Star Scramble together, and then did it again to help him fight off Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona. Hook returned the favor on Collision, and now they’re teaming up to tear the Gates down! Will #LionHook be an unstoppable combo? Or will the Mogul Embassy get back at them both for messing up their title opportunities?

The teams sort out and Kaun starts against Hook. They tie up, and Kaun waistlocks to then shove Hook. Kaun taunts Hook, they reset and circle again, then Hook gets around to waistlock. The unlikely duo pulls it off! #LionHook stands tall over The Gates of Agony, but is this the last they’ve heard from The Mogul Embassy?

Backstage interview with Kyle O’Reilly.

Renee is with Kyle and says tonight is such a huge night for AEW. A lot has changed recently, but what does Kyle think about it? For two years, the thought of never wrestling again was the least of his problems. There was a span there where physically, he couldn’t pick up his daughter, and those were the darkest days of his life. But Kyle’s neck got better, his arms got better, and now that he’s back, he looks at the AEW roster, and he wonders if he can still hang. This is perhaps the most competitive roster in the history of the sport. But then Kyle sees a guy he’s impressed by. A guy he’s had his sights set on, so to speak. A guy that Kyle feels can bring out “that Kyle O’Reilly.”

So, “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith, you and Kyle have a match this Saturday on Collision. Kyle’s first match back in almost two years! And it’s in Kyle’s home country of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada! But then Roderick Strong comes in shouting for “KYYYLE!” Oh, sup, dude? Roddy wants to say Kyle knows how much respect Roddy has for him, and how much love he has for him. If Kyle wants to do this on his own, then he can do this on his own. They shake hands, Kye even fist bumps Taven & Bennett. Kyle says his first match back, and he’ll be on his own. Something about that seems surreal, but can Kyle make the comeback story a reality?

Mercedes Mone finds Riho backstage.

The CEO formally introduces herself to the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion, and says she is looking forward to her match tonight. Mercedes wishes Riho good luck, Riho thanks her, and then Mercedes heads to the VIP area. Will Riho prove herself worthy of one more world title shot? Or will the Babe with the Power finally break through to that level?

Backstage interview with Jericho & Hook.

Renee congratulates them on the big win over The Gates of Agony. Renee also knows Jericho has had his attention on Hook, but did Hook earn his respect? Jericho will say this: The Gates are no joke, but Hook rose to the occasion. Hook showed Jericho that he doesn’t just have potential, he has “future world champion” written all over him. But as much as Jericho learned standing in the ring next to Hook, he still needs to know more. He needs to know what it is to be standing across from Hook. So next week, Dynamite in Toronto, Jericho is challenging Hook, a first-time-ever! Hook says yeah, let’s do it! They fist bump, will Jericho learn what makes the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil tick?

BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite next week!

On top of the I Quit match for the TNT Championship and Jericho VS Hook, another first-time-ever has been made as Kazuchika Okada gets his shot at Eddie Kingston’s AEW Continental Championship! However, Okada only wants the Continental Championship, as he is apparently above the ROH World and NJPW Strong Championships. But either way, is Okada going to end the Mad King’s reign? Or will Eddie make sure Okada dries up in Toronto?

Willow Nightingale VS Riho!

Talk about Big Business, this is quite the historic main event! The inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Champion and the current Queen of Harts Cup winner takes on the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion, with both of them wanting to get right back to the top! Who takes not just a big win in Boston, but one giant leap towards a title opportunity?

The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two circle. Riho gets around to waistlock, but Willow’s too much to lift! Willow switches, back suplexes, but Riho lands out of it! The fans duel, the two reset and shake hands to show respect. Riho gets around to waistlock again, but Willow switches again. Riho avoids an elbow but Willow blocks the whip. Willow whips, Riho wheelbarrows but Willow blocks the arm-drag! Riho tries the other side but Willow blocks that arm-drag, too! Willow whips then runs Riho over! The fans are torn but Willow runs to SPLASH! Cover, TWO as Riho manages to go Matrix!

Riho runs, DROPKICKS, and Willow staggers to a corner. Riho runs in to KNEE, then she keeps going to KNEE again! Riho tries one more time, but Willow BOOTS her! Willow goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK! Riho tumbles away and the fans fire up while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Willow drags Riho up, brings her around, and scoops to carry Riho around with one arm! Willow then SLAMS Riho down, drags her back up, but Riho slips free! Riho rolls Willow up, TWO! Willow CLUBS Riho and storms around. Willow stalks Riho to a corner, stands her up, and clotheslines! And short arm LARIATS! Willow then hauls Riho up to short arm LARIAT again! And short arm LARIAT again! Willow runs, but Riho avoids the senton! Riho fires hands, then runs, but Willow CLOBBERS her at the ropes! Riho staggers and falls, but Willow brings her up into a BEARHUG! Riho endures, even as Willow squeezes and thrashes her around!

Willow carries Riho around, the fans rally up, and then Willow snap suplexes! Cover, TWO! Riho toughs it out, but Willow storms up on her. Willow brings Riho around, whips her to a corner hard, then stomsp Riho down! The ref counts, Willow lets off, and she storms back up. Willow drags Riho up, Dynamite returns to single picture, and Willow whips. Riho LARIATS back! Willow stays up, so Riho runs to LARIAT again! Riho runs, cartwheels, and then tilt-o-whirls to put Willow on ropes! Riho dials it up, 619! Willow staggers away, the fans fire up, and Riho climbs! CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO!

Willow huffs and puffs as she stays in this, but Riho hurries to reel her in! Willow overpowers the Northern Lights to scoop Riho! Riho slips free, shoves Willow into a corner, then runs to KNEE! Willow breaks free, swings, but into a NORTHERN LIGHTS?!? Bridging cover, TWO!!! Willow survives and the fans are thunderous! Riho thinks on what she has to do, and she pushes Willow down into a drop zone. Riho steps on Willow and goes to the corner!

The fans rally up as Riho climbs, and DIVING DOUBLE- NO, Willow dodges, to then POUNCE~! PERIOD!! Riho tumbles out of the ring, Willow goes to the apron. Willow CANNONBALLS but FLOPS as Riho moves! The ref checks Willow, she’s okay to continue, so Riho DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS from the apron!! The fans fire up, “This is Awesome!” as Riho leaves Willow behind. The count begins as Willow sputters and stirs. Willow drags herself up and Riho watches like a hawk. Willow gets up at 5 of 10, but Riho is after her on the apron! Willow swings, but into a full nelson! APRON DRAGON SUPLEX!!!

Riho shoves Willow in, goes right up top, DIVING DOUBLE STOMP!! Cover, TWO?!?! Willow survives and the fans can’t believe it! Riho can’t believe it and she argues the count! The ref assures her, two is two! Riho goes to a corner, takes aim and runs in, but Willow ducks the meteora! Riho stops from hitting buckles, and she fires forearms on Willow! Willow ROCKS Riho in return! Riho JUMP KNEES! Willow LARIATS!! The fans fire up and Willow brings down the straps! Riho roars as she stares down with Willow, and then runs in, but into a wrench! Fireman’s carry! But Riho sunset flips and jackknife bridges! ONE!!

Willow gut wrenches!! BABE WITH THE POWER BOMB!!! Cover, WILLOW WINS!!

Winner: Willow Nightingale, by pinfall

An incredible battle from two big names in not just AEW but women’s wrestling. Willow shows Riho respect and Riho shows it back. But wait! The lights go out! Willow has wanted after Julia Hart and the TBS Championship, so here she is! But then Skye Blue sneaks in to CHOP BLOCK Willow! Fans boo as Skye stomps and hammers away on Willow, then Julia joins in! The House of Black mugs Willow, and Julia dribbles Willow off the mat! Skye sits Willow up and Julia has the belt, but here comes Mercedes! The CEO was watching, and she’s not gonna let this stand! Skye runs up but Mercedes DECKS her!

Mercedes storms up to stare down Julia. Julia kicks, Mercedes blocks! Mercedes KNEES Julia, then hooks her up in the Gory Especial! MONEYMAKER!! The fans fire up as the CEO stands tall. Then she turns around to see Willow. Willow raises Mercedes’ hand in victory, will Mercedes get in on a title scene soon enough?

My Thoughts:

Big Business was big indeed! Now obviously, Mercedes Mone was of course debuting in AEW tonight, she is All Elite, and she had a great promo to open the night and really speak from the heart. She also of course had a part to play at the end of the night, saving Willow from Julia & Skye. Willow VS Riho was an awesome main event, and Willow winning was to me the right choice because Willow VS Julia for the TBS Championship is what they’ve been building this whole time, now it’s going to happen. Now, I’d love Willow & Mercedes VS Julia & Skye to happen to then officially announce Willow VS Julia, but it still has to be Willow VS Julia for Dynasty or something like that.

Great promo from Adam Cole with an actual book for story time, and great world championship match, but of course Joe won out. Undisputed Kingdom will be upset with Wardlow, they might even kick him out of the group so that Wardlow can fight one or more of them on the way to Dynasty. Roddy also had a good promo with Kyle that has started to make it sink in for Kyle that he’s gonna be without anyone by his side. Kyle’s only rarely been solo in his career, from ROH to NXT to now, and that makes for some intriguing storytelling. And then back to Joe, of course Swerve wanted after him, that is the obvious world title match for Dynasty, and it will be awesome.

Great promo from The New Elite with Okada fitting right in with The Bucks and this new sort of passive aggressive obnoxious. They had a great Six Man Tag with Eddie, Penta & Pac, which The Elite of course won, and oddly, now that Eddie VS Okada is only for the AEW Continental Championship, that match can go either way. I felt like Okada wasn’t gonna win if he was after all the belts, because why would Okada leave NJPW then get a belt that basically makes him go back to NJPW? Okada taking just the AEW Continental title would free Eddie up to actually be on ROH TV again while Okada feuds with Pac over the AEW belt.

Great promo from Ospreay to hype up Ospreay VS Danielson, he really has made some leaps and bounds in his promos the last year or two. Really good promo from Deonna to call out Toni & Mariah and even hint at a mystery partner. I can’t be sure who it’ll be, but whatever tag match happens will be a lot of fun, and one way or another, Toni VS Deonna 2 for Dynasty is clearly the plan. Good match from Jericho & Hook VS Gates of Agony that of course Jericho & Hook won. And of course Jericho wants a match against Hook. A little surprised it wasn’t outright for the FTW Championship, but I suppose it won’t matter if Jericho loses to put Hook over, though how much more over can Hook really get?

And then awesome stuff from Darby VS White. That was definitely a great finish that was both on brand for Darby and on brand for White. And then I did not expect this to be what broke Bang Bang Scissor Gang up, but it was a great way of doing it. Bullet Club Gold relapsed into being Heels, The Acclaimed stayed Faces, and while it’s a rehash of the last time Acclaimed feuded with Gunns, this will still be a lot of fun and there’s probably gonna be one team holding all the trios titles. Also, Darby getting his leg busted in the chair was clearly to write Darby off TV so that he could go do his expedition up Everest, though… we already knew he was doing that so it was also just so BCG would have more heat going into the feud with Acclaimed.

My Score: 8.9/10

AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Will Ospreay VS Ricochet!

Wait, are the fans throwing white streamers or is that… No, yeah, it’s toilet paper! Ospreay laughs at the fans basically calling Ricochet crap. Ricochet throws the toilet paper back! The bell rings and we’re on the clock. The fans fire up for Ospreay as he and Ricochet circle. The fans also sing, “F HIM UP, OSPREAY, F HIM UP!” Ricochet shrugs that off, he and Ospreay tie up, and then Ricochet rolls. Ospreay shoots in, waistlocks, but Ricochet switches. They go around, Ricochet gator rolls with Ospreay, then floats to a headlock. Ricochet wrenches, hammerlocks then headlocks again. Ospreay powers up and out, Ricochet runs him over, but Ospreay kips up!

The fans cheer and Ospreay smiles as he and Ricochet reset. They tie up, go around, and Ricochet wrenches to a wristlock. Ospreay rolls, wrenches and wristlocks, but Ricochet spins and wrenches to hammerlock. Ospreay reaches back, headlocks and hits a takeover. Ricochet rolls to a cover, TWO! Ospreay holds onto the headlock but Ricochet powers up and out. Ospreay runs Ricochet over, Ricochet bails out, and then Ospreay handsprings to fake Ricochet out! The fans cheer as Ospreay superhero lands out, and Ricochet is annoyed. Ospreay holds ropes open for Ricochet, but Ricochet goes around the way to step in on his own.

The fans boo Ricochet being a bad sport but Ricochet ignores that. Ospreay and Ricochet knuckle lock, then Ricochet kicks low! And CHOPS! Ricochet whips, Ospreay reverses, but Ricochet rolls off Ospreay’s back! Things keep moving, Ospreay avoids the handspring to then duck ‘n’ dodges and RANA! But Ricochet handsprings through! The fans fire up, and Ospreay arm-drags Ricochet down! The fans cheer while Ricochet endures the grind. Ricochet fights up and puts Ospreay on ropes. The ref counts, Ricochet and Ospreay slowly let g o, and Ricochet SLAPS Ospreay! Ospreay CHOPS Ricochet!

Ospreay takes a swing, Ricochet ducks under to roll back and RANA! But now Ospreay handsprings through! Ricochet dodges to waistlock but Ospreay bucks the O’Conner. Ricochet arm-drags Ospreay down, but Ospreay headscissors back! Ricochet pops free but Ospreay arm-drags! Ricochet headscissors, Ospreay pops free, and Ospreay handsprings, but Ricochet catches him! Ricochet then THROWS Ospreay into the Tree of Woe, and Ospreay falls down! The fans boo while Ospreay bails out, but Ricochet FOSBURY FLOPS! The fans boo but Ricochet takes the toilet paper to wipe himself, then he SMOTHERS Ospreay with it!

The fans boo that literally disgusting act of disrespect, but Collision goes picture in picture.

Ricochet taunts the fans, then drags Ospreay up. Ricochet puts Ospreay in, soaks up more heat, then KNEE-BOARD SENTONS! Ricochet swaggers to taunt the fans more, then he goes back to Ospreay. Cover, ONE!! Another cover, TWO! Ricochet taunts the fans more, then goes back for Ospreay. Ricochet stands Ospreay up to CHOP, and Ospreay goes to a corner. Ricochet RAMS into Ospreay, RAMS him again, then snapmares to UPPERCUT in the back! Cover, TWO! Ospreay stays in this but Ricochet drags him into a motorcycle stretch. Ospreay endures while Ricochet digs a knee into the back. Ospreay fights up, fights with elbows, then runs, but into a DROPKICK!

Ospreay is down in a daze but Ricochet has to shake out the stars in his own head. Ricochet covers, ONE! Ospreay then uses that one to flip off Ricochet. Ricochet RAMS Ospreay in the back! Ricochet then clamps on with a chinlock, and he digs his knee into Ospreay’s back. Ospreay endures, even as Ricochet JAMS Ospreay. The One & Only got away with murder, but there’s nothing that can be done now! Ricochet has NINE points, will he be headed to Worlds End?

Adam Cole heads to the ring!

The fans cheer as the Panama City Playboy returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom, and yes, they join in for the “BOOM~!” and the “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY~!” Cole grabs a mic, but he keeps his eyes on the ramp. That’s because we all know who’s next. MJF makes his entrance, but with a handful of security guards in front of him first. And not even AEW security, that’s his own personal security. MJF grabs a mic and has them cut his music. The fans boo but MJF tells them, “If I wanted your help, I’d ask for it. Sit down and shut up.” The fans tell MJF to STFU, but MJF shrugs that off.

MJF tells Cole that MJF is frustrated. It’s because for the past few months, MJF has had to listen to Cole say MJF is Cole’s biggest enemy! If memory serves, and MJF’s memory always does because unlike the fans here, he isn’t a complete moron… Didn’t Cole turn on MJF? But then does Cole realize he has bigger enemies out there? Like spray tan, cracks in the floor, gusts of win, and maybe… a cavity. Because last MJF heard, Cole’s dentist isn’t seeing him anymore. Cole was already staring daggers into MJF, but now he’s pissed. MJF has Cole calm down, and he tells the fans to shut up so he can shoot straight.

When MJF was the longest-reigning and greatest AEW World Champion of all time, Cole was nothing more than MJF’s cute little sidekick. That ate Cole up inside. Cole wanted to be MJF. Cole wanted #TripleB. But the sad truth is, Cole had many opportunities to win the title before MJF got anywhere near it. It’s almost like when it comes to Cole being elite enough to become world champion, just like his “s*itty little ankle,” Cole blows it. MJF laughs at his own joke, and then tells the fans he is talking, it is not that complicated. But this is why MJF doesn’t buy the hogwash that Cole turned on MJF because MJF would turn on Cole first.

Cole turned because he, like all these shmucks, is jealous of MJF. And who can blame Cole? MJF is rich, handsome, funny, entertaining, and then look at Cole. For crying out loud, Cole used to be ADAM COLE BAYBAY. Now, he’s just a crack baby! Cole asks if MJF is done. Was that the last line? Because it felt like MJF practiced that for two weeks in front of a mirror. But MJF killed it, really. Cole could come back with childish comments to hurt MJF’s feelings, but he won’t. Cole could mention MJF has had two surgeries on that fake head of hair of his while only in his 20s, which is hilarious, but he won’t.

Cole could talk about how MJF pulled some strings to get his girlfriend hired, like the real politician he is, but Cole won’t go there. Cole could talk about how every single time MJF enters a room, everyone waits for him to leave because he is loud, obnoxious and annoying as hell. But Cole won’t go there. Because Cole is not like MJF. They are nothing alike. That is why the friendship was ruined. Because, MJF, the truth is you say Cole is a failure, but in virtually every wrestling company Cole has worked for, he is the longest-reigning champion in so many!

In this very building, Cole bled BUCKETS against Kyle O’Reilly, wanting to prove he was one of the best in the world, and that is exactly what he did! Does Cole have regrets? Sure. Are there things Cole wishes he could take back? Absolutely. But Cole does NOT regret turning on MJF. The only reason it drives MJF insane is because Cole beat MJF to it. That’s MJF 101: Get close to someone, then turn on them. It’s what MJF does. Cole just did it better than MJF, and MJF knows it.

But Cole has been thinking, trying to understand what’s going on in MJF’s head, and he finally figured it out. MJF is terrified of having anyone close to him, because he feels it is a weakness. That hit a chord? Because not only does MJF act like a child, he thinks like a child! MJF knows in his heart that he was going to be the one to turn on Cole first! DAMN RIGHT HE WAS!!! MJF realizes he let the cat out of the bag. MJF says congrats, Cole, he solved the mystery! A regular Scooby-Doo! Great job, Adam.

But you want the truth? Here it is. The fact of the matter is, last year at Worlds End, MJF had every intention on stabbing Cole in the back that night. Cole just got lucky. When #BetterThanYouBaybay started, MJF didn’t give a damn about Cole. Cole was nothing more than a pawn. But MJF will admit, he did eventually start to care. For the first time in MJF’s life, he cared about someone else. Fans mockingly go, “Aww…” But MJF says that is just when Cole became a liability. And since Cole’s “a fragile little freak,” him jumping off that ramp and exploding his ankle made him a distraction!

Distractions, liabilities, emotions, there are no room for those when all you should be concerned with is maintaining the world championship! But Cole doesn’t get it, does he? Last year was a fluke. Cole ain’t the Devil, he just beat the Devil to it. But this year, Worlds End, December 28th, the same show where Cole tried to end MJF’s world, MJF ENDS Cole!! MJF throws down the mic and the fans are torn. Cole smirks and says MJF ends things then? Well, how about Cole ends this? COLE DECKS MJF! The guards rush in, but Cole fights them off! MJF sends more but Cole SUPERKICSK! And SUPERKICKS! And SUPERKICKS!

But then MJF LOW BLOWS Cole! MJF tells the fans to shut up! MJF takes out the Dynamite Diamond Ring! But then The Kingdom rushes out here! MJF runs away from Matt Taven & Mike Bennett, but he vows this ends at Worlds End. We have one week left, is that the last week Cole has in AEW? Or will MJF finally lose the one thing he has left in that diamond ring?

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.

Lexy Nair is with the #BornAgainKristen and brings up her trying to make amends with Willow Nightingale last night, as well as making the save when Harley Cameron & Penelope Ford were beating Willow up. Kris says what she and Willow have to discuss is between them. But as far as her and Penelope go, they’ve got a lot of history, and if Ford wants a fight, Kris will give her a fight. Then speaking of history, Kris still has her eyes set on the TBS Championship, can she tells us more on that?

Kris says she looked back on 2024 and she had a downward spiral that started with losing that title. Maybe if she wins it back, Kris will right her wrongs. On that note, Mercedes Mone, you don’t have an opponent for Worlds End so here Kris is. Let her know when you’re ready for round two. Kris heads out, will she prove to everyone that she is still the Galaxy’s Greatest?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.

AEW returns and Lexy is now with Freshly Squeezed. In exactly one week, he will compete against three other men for the AEW World Championship. There are a lot of combustible elements at play, and Cassidy says yeah, we saw that on Dynamite. Jay White, Hangman Page and Cassidy can’t exactly have a conversation. So really, Cassidy wants them to listen. “Between now and Worlds End, Jon Moxley can run and hide. He can hide behind his goons, he can run away in a pickup truck. But when that bell rings in seven days, he has nowhere to go. He will be in the ring with us. Us three. And you both know that we need to remove Jon Moxley from the equation.

“We can. We’ve done it. And after that, us three, we can fight for the AEW World Championship and one of us will become the AEW World Champion. Just something to think about. See you guys on Dynamite.” Cassidy is ready to remove the Maniac from the throne, but will the Switchblade and Cowboy listen to reason?

Kris Statlander VS Penelope Ford!

As Kris just said, she’s calling out The CEO in hopes of one more TBS Championship match. But will the Superbad Girl be more like the Grinch for Kris this Christmas?

The bell rings and the fans rally as Kris circles with Ford. They tie up, Kris powers Ford to a corner, then throws Ford back into the corner! The ref counts, Kris lets off, but Ford shoves her! Kris ROCKS Ford, TOSSES her, then runs up on her. Kris whips, drops down, then hurdles over. Kris CLOBBERS Ford and the fans fire up as she flexes. Kris drags Ford up, reels her in, and suplexes, and she holds Ford up! The fans cheer and Kris goes all the way to TEN, but Ford slips into a SLEEPER! Kris pries the hold open and she brings Ford around for another suplex! The fans fire up as Kris holds Ford up for five before the SLAM! Cover, TWO!

Kris drags Ford up, whips her to the corner, but Ford goes up, only for Kris to Electric Chair Lift! Kris climbs, Ford fights with fists, and she shoves Kris down! Ford steadies herself, then hits a FLYING BLOCKBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Ford is frustrated but she storms up on Kris. Ford bumps Kris off buckles but the fans rally behind Kris. Ford stomps a mudhole, but she lets off as the ref counts. Kris goes to the apron, but Ford jumps up to drop KNEES on her! The fans boo but Ford soaks up the heat, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Ford brings Kris around to THROW her into railing! Ford soaks up more heat, then drags Kris up and RAMS her into the apron! Ford refreshes the count, then stalks Kris around the way. Ford whips Kris into the steel steps! Kris falls over in a heap but Ford drags her up into the ring. Ford covers, TWO! Kris stays in this but Ford kicks her around. Ford CHOKES Kris on the ropes, thrashes around, but lets off as the ref counts. Ford drags Kris up and whips her to ropes, then LARIATS as Collision goes to break.

Christmas Collision returns and Ford CHOKES Kris on the ropes again! The ref counts, Ford lets off and Kris sputters to the apron. Ford runs and goes up, up, and KNEE DROPS on only apron! Kris then SHOTGUNS Ford off the apron! The fans fire up and Kris brings Ford up, to THROW into railing! Kris puts Ford in the ring, the fans fire up, but Ford kicks low. Ford reels Kris in, but Kris suplexes, FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO! Ford flounders to a corner but Kris has the fans rallying behind her. Kris runs up to UPPERCUT! Kris goes side to side but Ford dodges the knee! Ford hits a FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!

Ford wasn’t quite perfect there but she watches Kris go to a corner. Ford runs corner to corner, handsprings, but Kris catches her! The fans fire up as Kris GERMAN SUPELXES, but Ford lands out! but Kris goes Matrix to dodge! So does Ford! STUNNER! Ford runs, Kris does her best to follow, but Ford hops up for a POISON-RANA! Cover, TWO!! Kris survives and the fans fire up! Ford is beside herself, but she drags Kris to a drop zone. Ford goes up top, and MOONSAULTS BUT FLOPS as Kris moves! Kris hurries to deadlift GERMAN SUPLEX! And then GERMAN SUPLEX again! The fans fire up as Kris scoops to tuck Ford in! STATURDAY NIGHT FEVER! Cover, Kris wins!

Winner: Kris Statlander, by pinfall

Ford gave Kris quite the fight, but Kris came out on top! Wait, here comes Mone! Kris did call the CEO out, so Santa Mone says, “Ho, ho, ho ho ho! New York Citaaaay~! Please say hello to your C E O! Kris, after the year I’ve been having, I was planning on taking Worlds End off. I was planning on going to the Ritz in Boston.” The fans boo Boston, but Mone says since it’s the holidays, Mone feels like being nice. She already beat Kris once anyway, so she’ll just beat her twice! At Worlds End, you see that money changes everything, because Mone is the greatest TBS Champion of all time!

The challenge has been accepted, and Mone is looking to be busy before the New Year. Will Kris make her regret it?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!

Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!

Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!

And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Komander has the fans all fired up as he rises! Komander rolls into the ring, the count is climbing, but Brody is rising! So Komander runs corner to corner to go up, up and AWAY!! Direct hit with that escalara cannonball! The fans fire up as Komander rises again! Komander and Brody both head for the ring while fans sing again, “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~!” Komander has Brody in the drop zone! Komander goes up the corner, but Brody CLUBS him first! Brody has Komander in the Electric Chair Lift, then goes up the corner!? But Komander fights, shifts, and SUPER SUSNET FLIP POWERBOMBS!!

Brody is in the drop zone again and Komander rises! 450 SPLASH!! Cover, TWO!! Brody survives and Komander cannot believe it! “This is Awesome!” as Komander rises and goes to another corner. Komander tunes up the band, runs corner to corner, but Brody SLAPS him first! Brody runs but Komander dodges, Brody POSTS himself! Komander is on the apron and he runs up, to SHOTGUN Brody to the floor! Brody sputters, Komander climbs the corner, and the fans are thunderous! Komander springboards to ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Another direct hit and Komander feels so close to his first points in the C2!

Komander hurries to get in the ring, but then slides out to start a new ring count. Komander climbs again while Brody rises. Komander watches Brody slide in, then tightrope walks to CIELITO LINDO!! But that was on Brody’s back! Komander pushes Brody but that’s a lot of dead weight to push! Brody sits up but Komander KICKS him! Komander roars, the fans fire up, handspring- TORTURE RACK! Brody flips Komander around, GONZO BOMB!! Cover, Brody wins!!

Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)

If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.

Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.

And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.

My Score: 8.8/10
