MJF VS Rush!

The Wolf of Wall Street’s return really angered El Toro Blanco, and then Rush’s attitude towards him upset MJF! They brawled hard last week, but now they’ll get to fight uninterrupted! And for that matter, this match will be uninterrupted as there will be NO COMMERCIAL BREAKS! Will MJF remind Rush that he is better than him and he knows it? Or will MJF mess with the bull only to get the horns?

The ref has to keep between the two as Rush steps inside the ropes. The bell rings and the hands start flying! Fairfax fires up as these two go forearm for forearm, then Rush gets the edge. MJF shoves Rush, gets around him, then headlocks. Rush powers out, MJF ducks ‘n ‘dodges, then struts over the dropdown! MJF swivels hips but Rush puts some stank on the CHOP! MJF smirks, puts stank on his own CHOP, but Rush just brushes it off! And he gives MJF a check-up on his boys! MJF shoves Rush, Rush eggs MJF on, then puts his arms back. MJF says alright, and he winds up. The fans fire up, but MJF wants more!

The fans fire up more, and more, and more, then MJF pokes Rush in the eyes! The ref reprimands but the fans cheer, and Rush goes to a corner. MJF storms up on Rush, the ref keeps him back, and Rush HEADBUTTS MJF down! The ref checks MJF’s nose, then he reprimands Rush. Rush just soaks up the heat before he stomps away on MJF! MJF crawls to ropes, blood in the mouth, but Rush drags him up for body shots! Rush whips, then he back drops MJF! MJF writhes, Rush soaks up more heat, and he tastes some of MJF’s blood! Rush stomps away on MJF, then SLAPS him across the face! Rush whips again, but MJF sunset flips! TWO!!

Rush escapes, then DECKS MJF! The ref checks MJF and Rush soaks up more heat, but MJF is still in this. MJF goes to a corner, Rush paces, and then Rush storms up to fire forearms! The ref counts, Rush lets off, and Rush hears the fans rally up for the fans. Rush goes corner to corner to feint the dropkick, flip everyone off, and he BOOTS MJF! Rush rolls back to tranquilo, but MJF CLOBBERS him! The fans fire up as MJF rains down fists! Rush pulls at MJF’s nose, rains down fists, then DOUBLE STOMPS! Rush clamps on with a chinlock, then shifts to a motorcycle stretch. The fans rally as MJF endures, so Rush goes back to the chinlock.

MJF fights up, throws body shots, then runs, but Rush dodges to SNAP GERMAN! MJF sits up, into a KNEE! Cover, TWO! MJF stays in this and crawls to a corner, but Rush seethes. Rush hears the fans dueling, and he stomps away on MJF in the corner! Rush scuffs MJF, SPITS on him, but the ref backs Rush off. Rush goes corner to corner, BULL’S- NO, MJF dodges! Rush writhes from crashing down and the fans rally up again. Rush rises and he drags MJF up, but MJF cradles! TWO!! Rush escapes again, MJF gets around to backslide! TWO! Rush sits up, into a SUPERKICK! MJF hammerlocks and lifts Rush, for a CRADLE DDT! Cover, TWO!!

MJF is frustrated, he checks his teeth, and then stands back up. MJF storms back over to Rush, drags him up, but Rush stops the suplex to fire hands! Rush whips, but MJF stops himself to CLAW Rush’s back! MJF reels Rush in, Rush fights free and whips. MJF goes up and over but the leg jams! Rush runs up, but MJF steps over to SNAP PILEDRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Rush stops the ref’s count with his own hands! MJF seethes but then he aims from the corner. Rush rises, the fans rally, and MJF runs in, but into an OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY into buckles! MJF slumps down but the fans rally and duel again!

MJF stands up, Rush goes to the other corner. Rush runs back in but MJF pops him up to mule kick! MJF goes up, leaps, but into a HAYMAKER! Rush reels MJF in, STRAITJACKET PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!! MJF survives and Rush is surprised! Rush tells off Fairfax while MJF staggers up onto wobbly legs. Rush SUPERMAN PUNCHES MJF right outta the ring! Rush paces while MJF flounders around. Rush goes out to stand MJF up and CHOP! MJF staggers around but Rush whips him hard into barriers! Rush gets MJF up to whip hard into railing! And then hard into more railing! MJF slumps over but Rush just gets him up, to THROW him into barriers!

Rush dribbles MJF’s head off the barriers, KNEES him in, then CLUBS away with heavy hands! Rush says this is going to be HIS company, cabron! Rush stomps MJF, leaves him behind to refresh the count, then talks smack on the “tough guy hero” of AEW. The fans rally for MJF but Rush SMACKS him into railing again! MJF sputters while Rush gets a chair! The ref reprimands but Rush slides the chair into the ring. The ref goes for the chair, but this is so Rush can get the bright green cable! Rush LASHES MJF! And LASHES him again! And LASHES him again! MJF writhes, and now Rush CHOKES MJF with the cable!

Rush dribbles MJF off the floor, but leaves him be as the ref storms over. The fans boo but Rush snatches a sign to rip it up! The fans boo but Rush puts MJF in a corner of the railing. Rush goes to the far side, revs up and runs in, but MJF drop toeholds Rush into the chair! MJF refreshes the count, puts Rush on the apron, and goes up to join him. MJF suplexes, but Rush fights free! Rush ROCKS MJF, MJF comes back, OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY to the floor!! Rush soaks up all the heat while MJF sputters. Rush drags MJF up, puts him in, and has MJF in a corner. The fans boo but Rush just soaks it all up.

Rush “kicks dirt” at MJF, then goes corner to corner! BULL’S- LARIAT!! MJF turns it around and both men are down while the fans fire up! MJF and Rush stand, Rush swings but into a SPINEBUSTER! MJF rains down furious fists! The ref reprimands, MJF lets off, and he bumps Rush off buckles again and again and again! The fans count all the way to TEN! MJF then climbs up, and he rains down fists! The fans count again, and we go to nine, before MJF BITES Rush’s forehead! MJF lets off, Rush goes to the apron, but MJF brings him in, HEATSEEKER! MJF then gets Rush up, suplexes, and BRAINBUSTER!! Cover, MJF wins!

Winner: MJF, by pinfall

Maxwell Jacob Friedman showed that not only could he take it, but he could dish it out! But wait, who is sarcastically clapping on the tron? It’s The Cage of Agony and Hechicero! The Machine “congratulates” MJF, and welcomes him back. Brian Cage also adds that the EVPs wanted him to pass along their congratulations, as well, especially after all the “lovely things” MJF had to say about them. So much so, that at Forbidden Door, the hometown boy with the bum shoulder has a nice surprise waiting for him, and that is Hechicero. Hechi then tells MJF that he talks a lot about this and that, but this is the Alchemist of Lucha Libre!

Hechicero promises that when he and MJF face off, he’ll break MJF’s arms and it’ll be the end of him! Toa Liona adds a roar, and clearly The Young Bucks have put a hit out on MJF. But will The People’s Scumbag prove that no matter the language, he’s better than the rest, and they know it?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin & Kyle O’Reilly.

Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed and his all-star teammates for tonight. The conglomeration seems to have added one more since last time. Cassidy says c’mon, Renee. Oh, of course. Renee turns to the ROH World Champion, and Mark says if he may please… “Now it was only one week ago this very evening that I stood here and I proclaimed today is today, and we’re not gonna get where we’re going by looking in the rearview mirror. And then I proceeded to go get pinned and lose the match for my team, my bad boys. It will not happen again! But I ain’t focusing on that, because the word of the day is vengeance! Today, the word of the day is redemption!

“That’s right! There’s two words of the day today! The conglomeration is here, and today, we have Mr. Hey You Get Off My Cloud, Dante Martin! My fellow participant in the TNT title ladder match at Forbidden Door! But tonight…” Jack Perry steps in! The Scapegoat gives The Chicken a smirk as he moves on, and Mark tells Jack to get his ass outta here! They ain’t worried about yesterday or tomorrow! Tonight, it’s an ALL-STAR 8 MAN! Let’s go, baby! Mark heads out, Kyle says he’ll follow that man anywhere! Dante says hell yeah! Cassidy offers Renee a friendship bracelet. She’d love one! Thanks. Cassidy asks Renee who was that guy, in reference to Jack Perry.

Well, Cassidy is still his usual self but everyone else on the team is all fired up! Will they take the fight to Roderick Strong, The Don Callis Family and their fourth man, Zack Sabre Jr? Or will someone #JustTapOut?

Will Ospreay is here!

Fairfax fires up as the AEW International Champion makes his way out to the ring, but he’s not the only one, because here comes Swerve Strickland! The AEW World Champion has Prince Nana dancing to the song as he goes to the ring, and we’re getting one more face to face between these two ahead of their match at Forbidden Door for Swerve’s title. Both champs get the mic and the fans chant “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Ospreay then says here we are again, same ring at the same time again. Last time, before Ospreay snatched that belt from Swerve’s hands, Swerve said he couldn’t carry the weight of both worlds.

Well oddly enough, Ospreay seems very capable of doing that. Allow him to remind Swerve that he held THREE different championships from THREE different continents, at the same time. The fans cheer that! Ospreay says he is going to test Swerve. Swerve learns what the world already knows, and that is that Ospreay is the best in the world today! The fans cheer but Swerve says this is where Ospreay’s already messed up. Swerve is the best. He of course has been watching Ospreay, he has eyes and ears everywhere in this business.

That said, they’ve been taking two different paths the last five years, and it all culminates at Forbidden Door for the AEW World Championship. How fitting is that? Ospreay, holding multiple international championships, and Swerve holding down two different words: Pro-wrestling, and entertainment. And Swerve’s been doing it all by himself. But don’t make him forget, last year at Forbidden Door, Ospreay VS Omega. Ospreay didn’t win on his own. Is that what Ospreay will do to win this title? The Don Callis Family will help him try, and Swerve does mean try, to take the title?

Oh, is that what Swerve thinks? Swerve thinks Ospreay needs Don Callis? Do the fans think Ospreay needs Don Callis? “NO!” Ospreay says trust him when he says he does NOT need Don Callis or the Family, he can do this by himself. The Don Callis Family is watching backstage, and Don himself doesn’t seem too happy to hear that. But Ospreay says that seeing as how we’re bringing up last year, why stop there? Ospreay beating Omega was only the start of the Summer of Ospreay! After that, it was Kazuchika Okada, then Shingo Takagi, then Chris Jericho at All In Wembley! Bruv, while Swerve had a hit row, Ospreay had a hit list, and he didn’t miss a single one!

The fans like that one, and then Ospreay asks if Swerve feels that pressure. Ospreay feels it, cuz he sees Wembley on the horizon. Swerve should feel the pressure because this is going to be his first title defense in THE main event on a PPV! And everyone wants to see Swerve. What if the “Killshot” is just centimeters off? Is Swerve that confident? Why? Because Ospreay won’t use that one move? Nah, bruv. Whether it’s the Oscutter, Stormbreaker, or he caves Swerve’s head in with the Hidden Blade, the next morning, Swerve wakes up without that title. And that pain he feels walking down the ramp won’t be as bad when he looks at the crowd and admits Ospreay is on another level!

That pain won’t be as bad, but what he feels if Ospreay does use Storm Driver? Swerve won’t walk out of the arena, so he better be thankful. Swerve laughs that off and says Ospreay keeps using “If” over and over. Swerve is the world champ, he doesn’t go off “if” but off certainty! Swerve is the world champion, and while this may be his first PPV main event as such, this is Ospreay’s first PPV main event PERIOD, bruv! And Ospreay has Swerve to thank for that! Ospreay’s list of people to get here, yeah, it’s real nice. Let’s talk about his friends, like Shota Umino and Mercedes Mone, them doing the dances on social media.

What’s Swerve’s point? Swerve’s point is that he does not have friends! He got rid of them! Anyone that came for him for this title, anyone he had to go through for this title, they are bodies now! Numbers on a list, names on a grave, and they mean nothing to him! Question for you, Ospreay: if Swerve breaks one of Ospreay’s legs, who is Ospreay then? If Swerve breaks Ospreay’s arm, will the people still love him? You can break Swerve’s legs, arms and shave him bald, he is STILL Swerve Strickland, the wrestler, the rapper, the businessman, the actor, the podcaster! None of that changes! This business will eat you up. Look what it did to Swerve.

Swerve tried to help Ospreay, telling him that he has to sacrifice and sacrifice and sacrifice that much more to be in this position. But Ospreay doesn’t get that yet. Ospreay has to sacrifice the things he loves. Hell, he has to sacrifice the love he has for this business, for his wife and son! Ospreay ain’t ready for that. Ospreay stops Swerve there and says to never mention his son again. Don’t make this personal. Nana speaks up and says this is not the place nor the time. Save this emotion, save this fire, save all you’ve got, for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door! “Whose house?” Ospreay says “MY HOUSE!!”

Ospreay goes to leave but Swerve has the music stop. Question: what if Swerve does want to make this personal? Because when it comes to this world title, it is always personal. When Ospreay goes home, send Swerve’s regards to Alex & Harry. Ospreay storms right up into Swerve’s face! This is ready to explode, all it needs is a ref and the bell! Will either man survive this battle on Long Island now that Swerve’s lit the fuse?

The Don Calls Family reacts.

Trent is riled up, saying Ospreay is betraying the family and you don’t do that. Konosuke is also upset. Kyle says Ospreay didn’t mean that, but Don has everyone calm down. Don knows Ospreay better than his own mother. It’ll all be fine. Let’s just go. Trent and Konosuke follow down, but what is Kyle feeling when he’s known Ospreay the longest?

8 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Dante Martin VS Zack Sabre Jr, Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher w/ The Kingdom!

We heard from the conglomeration, and we know tensions are high on the other side, but everyone needs to focus on Forbidden Door. Will Freshly Squeezed be ready for the Front Man? Will the Violent Artist prove that he doesn’t need the Savior of the Backbreaker? Will future opponents in The Chicken and Angel Dorado be able to coexist? Or will ZSJ, Roddy & The Don Callis Family all be feeling good in Fairfax?

The teams don’t even sort out, they just start throwing hands! Well, mostly, as Cassidy takes his time stepping in, and ZSJ waits patiently. Roddy TOSSES O’Reilly, Konosuke has Dante and Mark goes after Fletcher. Cassidy takes off the denim jacket, puts it aside, then takes off the shirt. The sunglasses are handed off to the ref, and then Cassidy puts his elbow pad on. Their teammates have stopped brawling, so Fletcher gets in to CLOBBER Cassidy and Mark gets in to DECK ZSJ! Fletcher and Mark fire off hands now, then Mark CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Mark whips, Fletcher holds ropes, but Mark runs up.

Fletcher puts Mark on the apron, GAMANGIRIS him down, then builds speed to DIVE! Direct hit and down goes Mark at the ramp! But O’Reilly KNEES Fletcher down! Roddy DECKS O’Reilly, steps out, but O’Reilly gets a HANGING KNEEBAR! The ref reprimands and counts, Mark gets in and has a chair! But the chair is set up and Mark runs, only for Konosuke to BOOT him down! Konosuke soaks up the heat, but turns around to see Cassidy. Cassidy waves hi, Konosuke runs up, but Cassidy sits down in the chair to avoid the lariat! Also Roddy is still suffering the kneebar but oh well.

Cassidy DROPKICKS Konosuke up and out! Cassidy builds speed, but ZSJ is in to dump him out! Cassidy lands safe on the apron, ROCKS ZSJ, but ZSJ gets him in a ROPE OCTOPUS! Mark uses the chair to FLY onto Fletcher! The fans fire up with Mark and Dante TOSSES ZSJ out. The others group together, Dante builds speed but Konosuke slides in. Dante ducks ‘n’ dodges to then jump and RANA! The fans fire up and Dante then goes up and up and up, to ESCALARA CANNONBALL! Down goes everyone and the fans are thunderous as Dynamite goes picture in picture!

Roddy clutches his leg, Dante and Mark regroup with Cassidy. Mark throws hands down on Konosuke, gets ZSJ up and UPPERCUTS! Mark stomps Roddy, and The Kingdom check on their guy. Mark POSTS Konosuke, Cassidy tags O’Reilly, and in steps ZSJ! This is itself a dream match of technicians and the two feel things out. They tie up, ZSJ rolls O’Reilly and floats around. O’Reilly keeps his leg guard up so ZSJ backs off. They go again, ZSJ facelocks but O’Reilly trips him. O’Reilly floats from leg to arm but ZSJ slips away. The two reset as fans fire up. They go again, and ZSJ waistlocks, but O’Reilly switches.

ZSJ switches, O’Reilly rolls, KNEEBAR! ZSJ sits up to get an ARMBAR! O’Reilly moves around, slips out, and has an ANKLE LOCK! ZSJ reels O’Reilly into a headlock, but O’Reilly powers out. ZSJ drops onto the dropdown for a ghost pin! TWO, but ZSJ wrenches O’Reilly and tags in Fletcher. Fletcher CLUBS O’Reilly’s arm and then CHOPS! O’Reilly hits back, Fletcher fires another forearm, and the Kyles go back and forth! O’Reilly KICKS, then RAMS Fletcher into the corner. Mark tags in, he UPPERCUTS Fletcher, then runs him into buckles! Mark CHOPS, brings Fletcher in, and suplexes for a BRAINBUSTER!

Fletcher flounders away but Mark stomps him in a corner. Mark climbs up, rains down fists, and goes all the way to TEN! Roddy goes after Mark, the ref reprimands, and Fletcher takes a swing. Mark dodges, but men run, DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! Dynamite returns to single picture as both men crawl for their corners. Hot tags to Cassidy and ZSJ! The fans fire up as these two meet again, and ZSJ keeps Cassidy from putting his hands in his pockets! So Cassidy wrenches, spins ZSJ around, but ZSJ spins Cassidy to wrench and wrench and wrangle! Cassidy kips up, WRINGS ZSJ, but ZSJ kips up to wrench and cording hold.

Cassidy drags ZSJ down, goes for a leg, but ZSJ pops Cassidy into a sunset flip! TWO, and ZSJ cravats! Cassidy endures, rolls, but ZSJ holds on! The fans rally, ZSJ headlocks, and Konosuke tags in as Cassidy powers out. ZSJ bails out, Konosuke DECKS Cassidy! The fans boo, The Kingdom is all fired up, and Roddy snipes a tag! Roddy and Konosuke argue, that lets Cassidy tag O’Reilly! O’Reilly KIKCKS away on Konosuke and Roddy! The fans fire up, Roddy ducks so Konosuke takes the ENZIGIRI! O’Reilly JAWBREAKERS Roddy, runs, but Taven distracts the ref so Bennett can trip O’Reilly up! STRONG KNEE!

Roddy reels O’Reilly in for a BACKBREAKER! Roddy rains down fists on O’Reilly, then soaks up the heat from the fans. Roddy stalks O’Reilly, drags him up, and CHOPS! The fans rally, Roddy CHOPS again, but Kyle hits back! They brawl forearm for forearm and O’Reilly gets the edge. Roddy kicks low, CHOPS, then CHOPS again! O’Reilly blocks a chop, wrenches and WRINGS the arm! Tag to Dante and ZSJ storms in. Dante dodges to fire off forearms! ZSJ gets around, Roddy runs up but Dante BOOTS Roddy to arm-drag ZSJ! Then Dante DOUBLE RANAS! Konosuke runs in, Dante dodges to DECK Fletcher!

Dante dodges Konosuke again, goes up and around then GAMANGIRIS! Springboard, Fletcher takes the CROSSBODY! Dante runs but Konosuke BOOTS him! Konosuke goes up but Dante jumps up! Dante fires hands, but Fletcher YANKS Dante down! Dante staggers, Fletcher reels him in and sends him up to Konosuke! SUPER POWERBOMB!! High stack, Mark & Cassidy break it! They get tossed out by the rest, but Mark brawls with Roddy! Roddy signals to Konosuke but Konosuke still tags in. “This is Awesome!” as Dynamite goes picture in picture again.

Cassidy, O’Reilly and Mark are all down on the outside, but Dante fires body shots on Konosuke. Dante rises up, Konosuke shoves him and DECKS him! Cover, TWO! Konosuke is annoyed but he drags Dante up. ZSJ tags in, even though Roddy tries to snipe it again. ZSJ UPPERCUTS Dante, UPPERCUTS him again, and UPPERCUTS him again! Dante falls into the corner, ZSJ tags Roddy in, and Roddy stands Dante up to CHOP! And CHOP! And CHOP! The ref counts, but Dante fires hands in return! But Roddy DROPKICKS Dante down! Konosuke & Fletcher BLAST Dante’s team while Roddy covers, TWO!

Roddy is annoyed but he steps on Dante to tag in Konosuke. The whole team gets in, and they whip Dante to a corner. ZSJ runs in to UPPERCUT! Roddy runs in to ELBOW! Fletcher runs in to forearm SMASH! Konosuke runs up but Dante dodges! Dante’s team hurries in to get the others out of the ring! O’Reilly sends Roddy into railing! Mark hits a forearm SMASH on Konosuke! O’Reilly adds his own! Dante GAMANGIRIS! Dante and Konosuke are down and the fans rally up! Dante and Konosuke crawl for their corners, Konosuke anchors Dante’s leg, but Dante fights up to ENZIGIRI! Dynamite returns to single picture as Dante continues to crawl!

Hot tag to Mark and teh fans fire up! Mark dodges Fletcher to CHOP, CHOP and CHOP! Mark whips, Fletcher reverses but Mark BOOTS ZSJ! Mark then dodges Fletcher, ROCKS Roddy, CHOPS Fletcher, repeat! The fans fire up as Mark just keeps throwing shots! Roddy gest around but Mark BOOTS Fletcher! PELE for Roddy! Konosuke is up and he CLAWS Mark’s eyes! The ref reprimands but Konosuke runs, into a fireman’s carry! ROLLING DEATH VALLEY! Mark hurries up top, O’Reilly tags in, FORGGY BOY! O’Reilly is up, tag to Dante! KING KONG KNEE DROP! Dante goes up, Cassidy tags in before the MAMBA SPLASH!

Cassidy rises up, the fans fire up, LAZY ELBOW! Cover, Fletcher breaks it! Roddy & ZSJ also stomp Cassidy, but Mark jumps in! Mark brawls with ZSJ, Cassidy TOSSES Fletcher, ‘This is Awesome!” as Cassidy throws off his elbow pad! But ZSJ anchors Cassidy’s foot! HELLUVA KICK!! Tag to ZSJ and Konosuke snapmares Cassidy. ZSJ stands on Cassidy’s hand to torture the other! Mark SLAPS ZSJ, ZSJ eggs him on. So Mark hits the crane stance! ZSJ blocks the kick but gets an EXPLODER! Fletcher gets in, kicks Mark and suplexes, BRAINBUSTER! O’Reilly is in, Fletcher jumps a kick to ROLLING ELBOW! But O’Reilly knees low, GUILLOTINE FACELOCK!

Roddy drags O’Reilly off Fletcher for a BACKBREAKER! Dante JUMP KNEES! Konosuke runs on to JUMP KNEE Dante! Cassidy is up top, CROSSBODY but Konosuke catches him! But he gets STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! Cassidy holds Konosuke so O’Reilly can AX & SMASH! Then Dante springboards, CANNONBALL! Dante keeps going, he DIVES onto The Kingdom! Mark sees Konosuke get out, so he CANNONBALLS from the apron! O’Reilly and ZSJ meet again, and ZSJ blocks a kick to PELE an arm! ZSJ UPPERCUTS O’Reilly down but Cassidy tilt-o-whirls! ZSJ says no to the DDT, GUILLOTINE!

But O’Reilly takes the STRONG KNEE for Cassidy! ORANGE PUNCH for Roddy!! Cover, Cassidy’s team wins!!

Winners: Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Dante Martin, by pinfall

This all-star appetizer of Forbidden Door was a feast! But then Jack Perry DECKS Dante outta nowhere! The Scapegoat’s a jackass but he gets outta there! Mark and Konosuke brawl, and this all leaves Cassidy and ZSJ to stare down. Hands up, and into pockets! Cassidy has the big win here tonight, but will ZSJ make sure “Orange Bollocks” isn’t Freshly Squeezed?

Mercedes Mone speaks.

“Hola, Stephanie. Gracias for sending me your partner, Zeuxis, last week to ‘soften me up.’ She fought so hard, but all she really did was give me that taste of the lucha style I love so much. You say I’ve been sitting around? B*tch, I’ve been training and working my ass off to get that title that should’ve been mine. So let’s set things straight. Arrogance? No, sweetheart, that is confidence of someone who has walked the red carpets, somewhere you have never been. I am making history all over the globe. And at Forbidden Door, the titles aren’t just up for grabs, they’re mine to claim. So you wanna be La Primera? Well let’s see if you can handle La Jefa.

“There’s a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Mone.” The CEO is coming for it all, but will she become the Two Belt Boss? Or will Stephanie Vaquer set a new standard when she becomes a Quatro Crown Queen?

Rush snarls backstage.

A hand pats him on the shoulder, and he turns to see it’s Don Callis. Don says this is an opportunity for him. Is the Don Callis Family looking to add El Toro Blanco to the mix?

AEW World Tag Team Championships Title Eliminator: The Young Bucks VS The Acclaimed!

Matthew & Nicholas Jackson have certainly been two-faced about being The Elite. They want to #ChangeTheWorld, but into something more to their liking, and they’ve started making things personal with Max Caster & Anthony Bowens. But will The EVPs continue to hold down the AEW Tag Division? Or will Platinum Max & The Five Tool Player earn themselves some golden tickets back to the top?

But of course, Caster has a diss track on deck! “Hey, combined, son, your height is-” Wait, what happened? Oh no, someone cut Caster’s mic!! The fans boo as we’re denied the bars Caster was spitting, and we see it was the doing of Kazuchika Okada! The Rainmaker is at gorilla, and he claims he pressed the wrong button. He also claims he’s sorry, and fakes tears, to then go stone faced, “B*tch.” Well, Okada’s raining on The Acclaimed’s parade too, and The Bucks go after them at the ramp! But Caster & Bowens turn things around with big hands! This returns to ringside, but Nick whips Bowens hard into railing!

Caster sends Matt into barriers, scissor fingers the front row, then brings Matt around. Bowens hits Nick back but Nick kicks low. Bowens back drops Nick onto the ramp! Bowens then rains down forearms, but this still isn’t a match! Bowens whips Nick to barriers, Caster puts Matt in the ring, and now it’s a match! Caster brings Matt around, UPPERCUTS him to a corner, and the fans fire up as he UPPERCUTS again. Caster whips Matt to ropes but Matt reverses, but Bowens sneaks a tag. Caster sunset flips, Matt stays up, but Bowens runs in, NECKBREAKER onto the knees! Matt writhes, tags in Nick, but The Acclaimed send him to the corner.

Bowens runs in to clothesline, Caster runs in to ELBOW! Bowens runs in to forearm SMASH! Bowens sends Nick to Caster, scoop and SLAM! And then Caster holds Nick open, for SCISSOR ME TIMBERS! Bowens shakes out his bad leg, then drags Nick up. Tag to Caster, the Acclaimed mugs Nick, but Nick JAWBREAKERS back! Tag to Matt, but Caster hip tosses him! And hip tosses again! Caster whips, Matt reverses, and Nick gets a cheap shot in! Caster DECKS Nick, kicks Matt, then whips him to the corner. But Matt DROPKICKS Bowens down! Caster CLUBS Matt, whips him, runs in, but Matt dodges! Caster hits buckles then falls out of the ring!

Nick is there to stomp and CLUB Caster, then looms over him by commentary as Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Nick stalks Caster, drags him up and into the ring, all while Matt mugs Bowens on the other side. Bowens clutches the bad leg but Matt stomps Caster to a corner. Matt then stomps Caster in the corner, lets off as the ref counts, and Matt says let’s have a good show. Caster kicks low! Caster fires hands on Matt but Matt RAMS him into the Bucks’ corner! Matt snapmares Caster, tags Nick, and Nick slingshot SENTONS! Nick flexes and soaks up the heat, Matt applauds, and Caster goes to ropes. Bowens manages to stand but Nick ROCKS Caster! Nick CLAWS Caster’s back, keeps him from Bowens and bumps Caster off buckles.

Nick tags Matt in, but Caster hits back with kicks and haymakers! But Matt scoops to BACKBREAKER! Tag to Nick, and he slingshot LEG DROPS! Cover, TWO! Samoa Joe & Hook walk ‘n’ talk in the hall.

The Samoan Submission Specialist always wanted to know, what is the best slice in New York? Easy, it’s Bari’s by Hook’s place. Joe says the problem with New Yorkers. They talk too much. Their rent’s too high, and act like the best stuff is always by them. If it was Joe, he’d go for the worst place because that’ll have the best deal, since no one wants to live over bad chopped cheese. Hook says yeah, that makes sense. Then they gear up in front of the Premier Athletes’ door, just like last time. But then Joe has Hook hold on. Joe’s getting bored dealing with these guys, so when they go in there, Hook needs to be a little extra.

Extra? Yeah, extra. Aight. They bust in, Hook shouts, “GOOF TIME!” but there’s no one there. There is a note, though. Joe reads it. “Dear belligerent savages, I expected this barbarism. Therefore, I challenge you to a three-on-three wrestling contest on Collision against my associates. Signed, ‘Smart’ Mark Sterling.” Joe groans. Fine, we got a fist fight this weekend. They all in? Hook says bet, and Katsuyori Shibata behind the camera uses text-to-speech to say, “I am going to smash these goofy b*tches.” Joe smiles, and then makes fun of Hook going with “Goof time.” What? He said “be extra.” Okay, we’ll workshop that.

Joe, Hook & Shibata head out, will they tear down Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari & Josh Woods once and for all?

Mariah May is in the ring.

The protege of Toni Storm says it is now time for the Forbidden Door AEW Women’s World Championship contract signing. The fans cheer, and Mariah introduces herself as the host for tonight. Introducing first, the challenger, “Mina Shirakawaaa~!” The Fighting Gravure Idol struts her way out to the ring, already wearing gold on her outfit in anticipation for the title match. Mariah holds the ropes open, then gives Mina a friendly hug before Mina takes her seat. Then Mariah introduces THE AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm! The fans cheer as The Leading Lady of AEW makes her way out, Luther by her side.

Mina is annoyed that Mariah holds the ropes open for Storm, and also that Mariah and Storm give cheek kisses. Storm takes her own seat, and Mariah says, “Ladies, icons, friends. This match is going to be very difficult for me. I know what you’re both capable of, and I understand that you need to prove who the best woman is. But I just want you to know that… I love you both.” The fans go, “Aww…!” Mariah says no matter what happens- Mina interrupts by saying, “Mariah, shut up!” Storm is upset for Mariah but Mina tells Storm that in Stardom, Storm was a legend. In AEW, Storm became a star. But as champion? Storm got soft! Storm got weak!

“Everybody says ‘We Want Mina~!'” Fans are torn, but Mina says no one wants Storm anymore. And at Forbidden Door, Mina takes the title and she takes “her girl.” Mina signs her part, and she’s playing for more than just the title. Storm tells Mina if she raises her voice to Mariah like that again, and Storm will slap Mina’s bloody tits off! The fans fire up and Storm says, “You don’t want Toni Storm? Well… This buffet is wide open, so grab a bowl and line up!” What? “Because darling, I have some advice for you. Chin up. Tits out. And watch for the SHOE~!” Storm signs her part, and the match is official!

The fans cheer, Mariah takes the mic back and says it is official. Mina tells Mariah that SHE must choose! Mina or Storm! But then out comes Saraya! She tells everyone to shut up! Even the fans! She is so sick and tired of this, and of these girls! She didn’t come alone, b*tch! Well, she has Harley Cameron by her side, but wait! ANNA JAY sneaks in from the crowd! Anna drags Mina out to POST her! Saraya gets in to DECK Mariah while Harley drags Storm out to send her into barriers! The Outcasts and Anna clear the table and bring it around! They prop it up in a corner, go after Mariah, and Saraya reels her in.

But Storm gets in to SHOE ATTACK! SHOE for Harley, SHOE for Anna, GERMAN SUPLEX for Saraya! Saraya flounders around, Storm says kiss this! But Saraya moves, SWEET HIP MUSIC through the table!! The Outcasts have added a new member, and yet Mina has Mariah on the stage to stay safe. Has Mariah already made her choice? Or is it Mina making the choice for her?

Claudio Castagnoli speaks.

“Owen Hart Cup quarterfinals. Eight hopefuls vying to win the tournament, to get a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship at All In in London. Now, as the ‘voice of reason,’ I would like to say that myself and Pac are the prime candidates for that spot at Wembley. Pac, I know we’ve had our differences, but I’m looking forward to stepping into the ring with you. Let’s not do this for selfish reasons. Let’s not do this for me, let’s not do this for you, let’s do it for all the fans in Europe and all the fans watching AEW at home. Let’s do it for something bigger. Pac, when you and me collide, let’s do it for wrestling.”

Stokely Hathaway tells us to get on our feet and out of our seats, because every night is #StaturdayNight! But will Kris take her first step to getting in Willow’s way of a repeat? Or will Nyla be the hometown anti-hero Fairfax and the DC Metro area can believe in?

The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, are in a deadlock, then break. The fans rally for Nyla and that annoys Kris. The two tie up again, Kris stomps a foot then powers Nyla back. Nyla drags Kris onto the ropes, then goes up a corner. But Kris gets free to BLAST Nyla to the floor! The fans boo but Kris soaks it up while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Kris waits on Nyla while the ring count climbs, but Nyla rises up slowly. Stokely talks a lot of smack, but then Kris steps out to KICK Nyla back down! Kris CLUBS Nyla, SMACKS her off the steel steps, then mockingly says, “Oops.” Kris then BOOTS Nyla back down! Kris puts Nyla in the ring, then slingshots up and over to ELBOW DROP! Cover, but Nyla’s in the ropes. Kris hooks the legs as she covers, TWO! Nyla stays in this but Kris bumps her off buckles. Kris stomps away on Nyla in the corner, but lets off as the ref counts. Then she stomps Nyla all over again! The ref reprimands, Kris lets off, and then soaks up the heat.

Kris goes back for Nyla, CLUBS her, then brings her around. Nyla fires body shots in return, but Kris ROCKS Nyla! Kris fires more shots, but Nyla just gets mad! Kris apologizes, but Nyla storms up, so Kris drop toeholds her into buckles! Kris then drags Nyla up to run up and UPPERCUT! Kris brings Nyla around, CLUBS her down, then ROCKS her with forearms and a CHOP! Kris runs, CROSSBODIES, but Nyla catches her! Nyla pops Kris up but Kris slips free to CHOP BLOCK! And BUZZSAWS! Cover, TWO! Kris is annoyed, but she rains down fists before clamping on a chinlock. Nyla endures and Dynamite returns to single picture.

The fans rally as Nyla fights up. Kris hops on as a backpack, but Nyla runs and RAMS Kris into buckles! Kris holds on, Nyla staggers, but she RAMS Kris into buckles again! Nyla is free, clotheslines, then whips corner to corner. Nyla runs to back body block, and LARIAT! The fans fire up and Nyla rises! Nyla runs in again, to SPLASH! Kris sits down, Nyla fires up and the fans cheer. Nyla runs corner to corner to CANNONBALL! Cover, TWO!! Kris survives and Stokely is relieved, but Nyla drags Kris up again. Nyla reels Kris in, lifts, but Kris punches free of the bomb! Kris ROUNDHOUSES, then kicks a leg out!

Kris runs to SCISSOR KICK Nyla down! Cover, TWO!! Nyla survives and the fans rally up again! Kris drags Nyla to a drop zone, goes up the corner, and 450 FLOP as Nyla moves! Nyla CLOBBERS Kris, covers, TWO!! Kris survives and Nyla is furious! The fans rally up behind her, though, and Nyla goes up the corner now! But Kris ROCKS her first! Kris climbs up, Nyla shoves her down! Kris rises again, trips Nyla up, then goes side to side so she can BOOT Nyla! Kris drags Nyla off the corner, for a TOMBSTONE!! Cover, Kris wins!!

Winner: Kris Statlander, by pinfall (advances to the next round)

Stokely then calls out Willow! After what he and Kris did to Willow, they know she wants to beat their asses. But if Willow lays a finger on either of them, she’ll be pop-lockin’ in the same cell as Justin Timberlake. But then Willow gets Stokely’s attention on the tron! Willow says hi to Fairfax, and wishes everyone a Happy Juneteenth. Oh, and Stat… “Congrats” on the win. Kris is on to the second round. And in case they missed the brackets, but Willow has Deeb this Friday on Rampage in Fairfax. And when Willow wins and moves on to the second round, there will be no more running. Willow will get to whoop Kris’ ass!

And then Willow will be one more step closer to her goal of going on to Wembley Stadium. So see you Friday! Willow smiles, but will she pulverize the Professor of Professional Wrestling? Or will Serena’s test be too much even for last year’s Queen of Harts?

Backstage interview with Private Party.

Renee is with Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy, as well as their personal bouncer, Cheesecake, and brings up that last week, they made quite the impression on TV Time with Chris Jericho when they did some serious damage on The Learning Tree and his crew. Are they looking to take some of that momentum into their match with Komander & Metalik on Rampage? Quen says they’d be stupid if they didn’t. But if there’s one thing The Learning Tree learned, it’s that Private Party ain’t no joke. But speaking of Jericho, he says hi and steps in, waving to the camera. Big Bill & Bryan Keith are with Jericho, and he admits, Private Party did get the upper hand on them last week.

But they had to cheat to do it, didn’t they? But que sera sera, right? Jericho still wants to give his “branches” a lesson, and this week’s lesson is this: When facing luchadors like Jericho did as “Corazon De Leon (Lionheart)” all those years ago, as one of the biggest starts in Mexico’s history, Jericho always avoided the “martinete,” aka the piledriver. Whenever someone tried to use that, he said that doesn’t work for him, brother, and just didn’t do it. So keep that in mind! Thanks, guys! Thanks! Jericho leaves, Bill lets Private Party know they made “quite the first impression.” But not all first impressions are good.

Though, they are looking forward to the match with Private Party on Saturday Night Collision. Oh, and that match on Friday? They’ll be watching. Uh, appreciate that. Bryan says if these two cabrons want to tope conjilo, they better respect Jericho! Redwood and Bad Apple head out, and Kassidy says what they need to respect is the enda. Enda what? THE ENDA THIS- Quen stops Zay there. Back to you, Excalibur.

Daniel Garcia VS Rhett Titus!

While the International Champion has his eyes on Swerve, the chase after the International Championship continues for Red Death. Will Garcia prove himself worthy in time to step through the Forbidden Door? Or will he just have to wait on the other side to see Ospreay in the ring?

The bell rings, Rhett runs in and SPLASHES Garcia in the corner! Rhett fires off fast hands, stomps away, but the ref counts. Rhett lets off at 4, mocks the dance, then dismisses it with a wave. Rhett runs corner to corner, but Garcia gets up to SHOTGUN! Rhett falls back, the fans fire up, and Garcia gets Rhett up to TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Garcia drags Rhett up for a second TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Then he gets Rhett up again, a third TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Fans fire up for the hattrick, and Garcia reels Rhett into the GUILLOTINE FACELOCK! Rhett flails, but he fades out! Garcia lifts Rhett up for the RED CROSS!! Cover, Garcia wins!

Winner: Daniel Garcia, by pinfall

Another big win for Garcia in the ring, but wait, Daddy Magic is getting jumped on commentary! The Gates of Agony are beating down Matthew Menard, and now Brian Cage & Hechicero are storming down the ramp at Garcia! Menard is thrown into the ring as a distraction, Cage & Hechi CLOBBER Garcia! La Jaula de la Agonía beats down on Garcia & Menard for what happened last Saturday on Collision! They get Garcia up, ROCK-A-BYE BOMB!! The fans boo but Liona CHOKES Garcia! But wait, here comes MJF! The Wolf of Wrestling was called out by Hechicero so he TACKLES Hechicero! And he CLAWS Cage’s eyes!

Kaun & Liona run up, MJF dodges, and then MJF asks them to take it easy. They storm up, into DOUBLE LOW BLOWS! The fans cheer as MJF pulls one over on the hole team! MJF stomps away on Hechicero but Cage GERMAN SUPLEXES him! Hechi clamps on and he beats down on MJF! Roll into the inverted RINGS OF SATURN! Hechi might break an arm tonight! MJF endures, the fans boo, but here comes WILL OSPREAY! The Aerial Assassin won’t let these bullies do what they want, and he fires off shots on Cage! Hechi lets MJF go as Ospreay BOOTS Cage! Ospreay fires hands on Hechi but Cage CLUBS Ospreay!

Cage & Hechi double whip but Ospreay handsprings to DOUBLE PELE! The fans are thunderous, and MJF rises up! MJF clotheslines Hechicero up and out while Ospreay does the same to Cage! The fans fire up, Ospreay and MJF back up but bump into each other! They turn around, see who it is, and they stare down. The fans lose their minds over this first time face to face! Garcia sits up to see what’s going on, and MJF gives a nod of respect. MJF leaves, and then Ospreay offers Garcia a hand. Garcia accepts and these two stand together. Will Garcia get his shot at that title Ospreay has right now? Or will Ospreay soon have two belts in his collection?

Backstage interview with Will Ospreay.

AEW returns as Renee catches up with Ospreay and asks what that stare down with MJF was about. Ospreay says he couldn’t give a crap about MJF, Ospreay went out there because he saw Garcia needed help. But then Brian Cage storms back here, security trying to slow him down! Ospreay dares The Machine to try it! How about Collision, then? Cage says yeah, and put that title on the line while you’re at it! Ospreay says alright then! Saturday Night Collision for the International Championship! Cage says he’ll kick Ospreay’s ass AND take his gold! The Machine backs down for now, and Ospreay says he’s a wanker.

Ospreay holds tight to his belt, and perhaps realizes his hot head got him into some trouble. But will Ospreay be able to survive a Collision with Cage to still bring his title to Long Island?

BREAKING NEWS for Forbidden Door!

As the Owen Hart Cup tournament has some international flair, the match of AEW’s Bryan Danielson and NJPW’s Shingo Takagi will take place on Sunday, June 30th! Will the American Dragon be able to slay the Rampaging Dragon of Japan? Or will Takagi prove that #TOKIGAKITA, this is his time?

2024 Men’s Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal: PAC VS Claudio Castagnoli!

The Bastard is in a foul mood, but the Swiss Superman said earlier tonight that this moment isn’t about either of them. Both men want to represent Europe in the tournament and go All In, but who is the one that takes a step closer to Wembley?

Meanwhile, Bryan Danielson has joined commentary to watch his friend and fellow Blackpool Combat Club member in action. They’re on the same side of the tournament bracket, so there is potential Bryan meets the winner of this match. Plus, Bryan just wants to see these two incredible wrestlers have it out. The bell rings and the two run in! Pac SHOTGUNS Claudio, then goes right up top! Claudio lost track of Pac but turns around, into the MISSILE DROPKICK! Claudio tumbles out of the ring, Pac hurries after him! Pac whips, Claudio stops himself, and Claudio ROCKS Pac! And UPPERCUTS! And CHOPS!

Claudio eggs Pac on, whips him, but Pac reverses! Claudio hits railing, and then Pac whips him into barriers! Claudio hobbles, Pac puts him in the ring, and then Pac climbs the corner again. MISSILE DROPKICK! Claudio tumbles, Pac goes to the near corner and climbs up again. But Claudio bails out this time, not wanting a third missile dropkick. Bryan says that’s smart, but Pac hops down to go out. Pac runs in around the way, but Claudio FLAPJACK UPPERCUTS him!! Fans lose their minds over that one, and even Bryan is fired up! Bryan says that is what you’re dealing with when you face Claudio, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Claudio drags Pac up, whips him hard into railing, then he winds up to run in. Claudio UPPERCUTS Pac against railing! Pac flops down, Claudio still hobbles with the pain in his hip, but Claudio feeds off the energy from Fairfax. Claudio brings Pac around but Pac fires body shots! Pac CHOPS, but Claudio seethes. Pac ROCKS Claudio, but Claudio FLAPJACKS Pac off the apron! Claudio shoves Pac into the ring, hobbles up to the corner and then climbs. Pac rises, turns around, and Claudio FLYING AX HANDLES! Down goes Pac and Claudio grits his teeth. Cover, ONE!! Pac is still in this but Claudio clamps on with a chinlock.

Claudio grinds Pac down, but Pac fights up to his feet. Pac fires body shots, only for Claudio to scoop and SLAM! Claudio runs, and DOUBLE STOMPS! Cover, TWO! Claudio stays on Pac with a cross between cravat and chinlock stretch. Pac endures, even as he’s twisted sideways, but the fans rally up. Pac fights around but Claudio HIP DROPS him. Claudio shakes out the bad leg, kicks at Pac, but Pac seethes. Dynamite returns to single picture. Claudio slaps Pac around, then scuffs him. Pac gets mad as he stands up, but Claudio fires a forearm. Pac gives it back, they go back and forth, but then Claudio shoves Pac away!

Incredible stuff and the fans certainly love it! Pac refreshes the ring count, then aims again, ASAI- NO, Claudio catches Pac! But Pac swings to TORNADO DDT to the floor! Pac puts Claudio in and even Bryan is a bit worried for Claudio.

Even Bryan is shocked! The Swiss Superman gets snatched by a technical wrestling move and is disappointed in himself. So much so, that he rejects Pac’s handshake of respect! Bryan tries to tell Claudio that stuff like that happens, but Claudio says not to someone like him. The Bastard must now wait until Forbidden Door to know who he faces, what kind of dragon will he look to slay in the semifinals?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite with a lot of build in a lot of stories. For one, awesome match from MJF and Rush to open, and they really did keep it commercial free, there was not even one picture in picture break during that time. MJF of course wins, he’s on the return push. But I did find it intriguing that, since Tony Khan gave up on La Faccion Ingobernable, Don Callis has reached out on behalf of The Family. At the same time, great bit of the Don Callis Family being unsure about Ospreay after that great promo segment between Ospreay and Swerve. Swerve certainly does love making things “personal” in his feuds, I just hope for his sake, this isn’t the one time it backfires and he loses.

Now, Ospreay still has his hands full with the International Championship and is perhaps only making it harder on himself. He gets involved with helping Garcia against The Cage of Agony, instead of Dalton Castle which would’ve made sense from how Collision went. MJF also has his interest in Garcia so there’s some logic to him going out there, and everyone loved seeing Ospreay and MJF in the same ring together. Brian Cage sure isn’t winning the International Championship on Saturday but it’ll be a great match, and I’m still thinking Garcia gets his shot very soon. As I’ve said since Ospreay won the Forbidden Door title shot, they could easily make him do a double header and that’s why Ospreay goes 1-1. It’s just a question of: which title does he win and which does he lose?

Another week, another great promo from Mark Briscoe. And then that “All-Star 8 Man Tag” was a lot of fun, and I mean a lot of fun. Just chaotic enough and we got a great win for the Faces. Jack Perry getting involved right after was also good, and he of course picked on Dante Martin because Dante is not quite the scrapper as Mark Briscoe or Konosuke Takeshita are. Action and Lio for Rampage is going to be great stuff, but I’m pretty sure Lio wins as Action and Dante are teammates and AEW’s not gonna make teammates face each other like that. And we also got good interactions of Cassidy and ZSJ, that match is going to be a lot of fun, too.

Awesome stuff with The Bucks and Acclaimed. I especially liked Okada messing up the rap and then being a jerk about it. The match itself was awesome, it was like the titles were on the line already. And with Acclaimed winning here, I have a feeling they lose out in the title match, though surely with plenty of shenanigans to protect The Acclaimed while putting heat in The Bucks. It would also help in giving The Acclaimed reason to join Swerve against The Elite in the coming Blood & Guts match they teased a month in advance. Also, I like that a CMLL wrestler is getting their shot at Okada, that’s a nice opportunity for Ultimo Guerrero there.

Good promo segment from Private Party with Team Learning Tree, and I knew as soon as Private Party was on screen, we’d see Jericho show up. Good lines from Bill and Keith as usual, and Private Party is gonna be busy. They’re gonna have a great match with Metalik y Komander on Rampage, and they’ll have a very good match with Jericho & Bill on Collision. Just not sure who Private Party can find as a third man to take on the full Learning Tree team in a Six Man Tag as the blowoff. Really good promo segment from the Joe-Hook-Shibata trio to set up their Six Man Tag with the Premier Athletes, and I would think Joe, Hook & Shibata win rather handedly.

Good promo from Mercedes Mone, but doesn’t change my personal feeling of wanting her to lose just to pop her ego. But as I said before, Mone will win so that Stephanie Vaquer isn’t having to go all over the world. Great promo for the contract signing between Storm and Mina, but I feel like they’re forcing Mina to Heel it up since Storm is of course the fan favorite. Mina doesn’t need to be mean to Mariah to make this a tough choice for Mariah to choose between her mentors. Especially with The Outcasts showing up and recruiting Anna Jay to their side. That’ll be a very good Six Woman Tag, and I feel like Storm’s team will actually lose. Mariah is facing Saraya in the Owen Cup, so go-home math says Mariah loses to then win later. Plus, Mina and Storm can argue and put Mariah in the middle.

Then great Owen Cup matches tonight. Kris VS Nyla was really good, and a solid win for Kris. Good promo from Willow ahead of her own match, and yeah, we’re definitely getting Kris VS Willow in the semifinals, right? Great main event from Pac and Claudio, and I figured Pac would win, but it was a great sequence of pin attempts that really kept us guessing. And waiting on Bryan VS Takagi for Forbidden Door probably is for the best. It will certainly be the quarterfinal finale while we see Rey Fenix VS Jay White, as well as a wild card determined to defeat Jeff Jarrett. Pac VS Bryan is good for story, it creates tension between Bryan and Claudio since Claudio couldn’t beat Pac and will take offense to Bryan thinking he can. But Takagi is a lot of fun to watch…

My Score: 8.9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

He welcomes out the TNT Champion, Adam Cole! The fans in Albuquerque fire up as Cole makes his way to the ring. They join in on the “BOOM!” and “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” Cole then joins commentary, and Schiavone brings out the guests for this contract signing. First of all, alongside Stokely Hathaway, it is FTR! The fans boo as #BigStoke and his #TopGuys walk to the ring. They sarcastically pat Schiavone on the back and he asks for some decorum. Now to FTR’s opponents! First of all, Daniel Garcia! The fans cheer as Red Death makes his way out here, Daddy Magic by his side. They join everyone in the ring, and Garcia shakes Schiavone’s hand.

Schiavone notes Menard here with Garcia. Garcia’s partner for Sunday is one of the most decorated ROH wrestlers ever, THE Nigel McGuinness! The fans cheer as Nigel makes his way out, throws up deuces, and he joins the rest in the ring. Schiavone has the contract for the sanctioned tag team match. Stokely takes the contract while Cash Wheeler takes the mic. “Out of the kindness of our hearts, we asked you two out here, face to face, to give you one more chance to reconsider!” Cash hushes the fans, and he says no matter how much Garcia has hurt FTR, how much Garcia has stabbed them in the back, FTR still see Garcia as a son.

Is Garcia throwing all of that away for nobodies like Daddy Magic? And Nigel, you get paid to talk now, but it’ll pay to shut your mouth and listen! He doesn’t understand how much trouble he’s talked his way into! Cash tells the fans HE is talking! Nigel hides behind commentary and makes jokes, claim he’s retired, then physically interject himself into FTR’s business?! This Sunday, there is no desk to hide behind! There is no magic trick to save his ass! It is Nigel, a shell of his former self, against the greatest tag team of all time! Is Nigel sure he wants this? FTR finishes signing their part, and then they pass the contract back to Schiavone.

Schiavone hands the contract to Garcia, and Garcia also gets the mic. Garcia says he was having trouble hearing Cash there. The fans cheer Garcia, and Garcia says he does still care for FTR. That is not something that just goes away. But he has to look at them now and see they are selfish, narcissistic sociopaths! They say Garcia turned on them, but no, they turned on him. FTR turned their backs on everyone who has ever cared about them! They have crossed too many lines to count, and now Garcia stands up for himself. But not just for himself, but for Schiavone, for Daddy Magic, for Adam Copeland and his family, and for everybody here that has had enough of FTR!

The fans cheer and Garcia says FTR is right about one thing: They are the greatest tag team that wrestling has ever seen. But this Sunday, it won’t be a wrestling match. It’ll be a fight! Garcia is coming to fight! Nigel, Garcia knows you’re worried, you have that little voice of doubt. But the thing is, no matter what FTR says, no matter how Nigel feels, Garcia sees Nigel walking those halls. Garcia sees that look in his eyes. It was the look Nigel had when he was wrestling Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, and being one of the GREATEST ROH Champions of all time! The fans cheer and Dax wants everyone to calm down.

Garcia says no matter what FTR says or how Nigel feels, Garcia and the fans all know, you still got it! The fans cheer that, “You Still Got It!” Garcia tells Nigel that if he’s not getting the Nigel we all know, then don’t bother signing the contract. Garcia signs his part, and Nigel speaks. Whether he still has it or not, we find out at Double or Nothing. But before Nigel signs, he needs FTR’s word, whatever that’s worth these days, that after Sunday, win, lose or draw… FTR does NOT touch Schiavone or Nigel ever again! You do not even TALK to them ever again! In fact, don’t even LOOK their way ever again! Because if they do, Nigel promises them, it’ll be Top Guys Out for good!

The fans cheer, FTR seems to accept that, and Nigel holds the contract. But Dax still has to talk… The fans boo, and Dax says hey, hold on. Before they all wrap this up, he wants to tell Nigel to look him in the eyes. Dax has to know. He has to know this is what Nigel wants. This isn’t 2009, when it was all about Nigel. It is 2025 and Nigel has a beautiful family he has to think about. Dax knows the business has beat Nigel up through the years. But if Nigel wants FTR to finish the job, then sign the contract. But if Nigel signs it, it is his blood on his own hands. If Nigel signs, what happens at Double or Nothing is not on FTR.

Or, Nigel can turn around, leave the ring, walk back to commentary “where you belong,” and they can just forget about all this. They’ll put it behind them. And then maybe, all of them can even be friends again. Dax pats Nigel on the cheek, and Nigel grabs the mic. “I’m only gonna ask you this once: Don’t put your hands on me again.” Dax laughs that off and says hold on! Why so serious? This is just business! Cuz if this were personal… Dax would’ve already splattered Nigel’s nose across his face. But this is business, and Sunday, FTR will be businessmen. Dax just hopes so can Nigel. Dax touches Nigel’s shoulder, Nigel grabs that arm!

Nigel puts Dax in a corner, Cash SHOVES Garcia into Menard! Stoke bails, Schiavone isn’t far behind, and Cash storms up on Nigel. Nigel HEADBUTTS Cash, and Garcia fires hands! Dax kicks Nigel, but Nigel WRINGS Dax’s arm! Garcia has Cash’s legs, Nigel has Dax’s arm! DRAGON TAMER and SHANKLY GATES!! FTR is tapping out! Menard dares Stoke to try something! Security rushes out, FTR is set free, and they retreat with Stoke while fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Nigel gets the mic back, and the pen, and he says if they want to look in his eyes, come Sunday, he’ll look into their souls!

“At Double or Nothing, THIS… ENDS!” Nigel signs and it is official! Will nothing stop Nigel & Garcia from making FTR tap out again?

Toni Storm speaks.

“So many women have died when they are young, only for their bodies to be buried much later. But you, Mina Shirakawa, have only ever made me feel very much alive. I have appreciated you, I have admired you, and by gawd, have I envied you. But now, you’re here to stay. The safari is over. And it’s much more difficult to survive the squared jungle when this pussy is on the prowl. I’ve always had a premonition that this journey would end in tragedy. So if there’s anyone can stop this belt from shining in my reflection at All In, then there is nobody more talented than you.

“I just have one request: Sunday, give me your damndest in the desert! Make me fight for my fate in Phoenix! Let’s drag out tits through the dirt, and let’s make every cactus cream in celebration! And then, decades from now, when we’re in the wrestler retirement home, giving Brutus Beefcake a lap dance, I will turn to you and say, ‘Dammit! You lusty, busty bastard! We lived!'” The Timeless One has come to terms with what could be, but what will happen when she and the Fighting Gravure Idol go Double or Nothing?

The trios sort out and fans rally for “LUCHA! LUCHA!” The Lion Warrior starts against The Roar. They circle, the fans rally up, and then the forearms fly! The fans rally as Temp gets the edge. Things speed up, Rugido drops down then hurdles over. Temp comes back to hurdle, then he ducks ‘n’ dodges to CLOBBER Rugido! The fans fire up, Rugido bails out, and lucha rules lets Volador rush in. Things speed up again, Temp rolls off Volador’s back to SOBAT, KICK, and ENZIGIRI! Volador bails out so Magnus runs in. Magnus wrenches and whips Temp but Temp goes up and over. Temp rolls back, then kicks, but Magnus blocks

Magnus flips Temp, Temp lands out and runs up to tilt-o-whirl arm-drag! The fans fire up and Temp hits the Templarooni! Cole is amazed and the fans rally up. Tag to Mascara Dorada and he sets up with Rugido. Rugido runs up, Mascara jumps over, rolls and goes up the corner. Mascara handsprings, then he blocks a shot to knuckle lock and CHOP! The fans cheer, Mascara goes up, up, jumps around and pinballs to arm-drag! The fans fire up and Magnus is in! Mascara eggs him on, but Magnus kicks low. Maghus whips, Mascara rolls under, then comes back to tilt-o-whirl and RANA! The fans fire up and Volador is in.

Mascara runs up, Volador puts him on the apron, and Volador swings. Mascara blocks and GAMANGIRIS, then he springboards, but Volador dodges. Mascara handsprings back, runs in again, ducks ‘n’ dodges and tilt-o-whirl RANAS again! Volador bails out, Mascara kips up, and the fans fire up! Mascara builds speed but Los Depredadores regroup. Mascara slows up, the fans rally, and the ref reprimands. Despredadores wanna bail? The fans boo, the count begins, and Depredadores change their mind. They come back, so Mistico tags in. The fans cheer him on while Depredadores talk strategy.

Mistico and Volador step up, and Volador wants a handshake? Mistico is wary, he doesn’t accept. The two get moving, Mistico runs, handsprings, but into a DROPKICK! Then Los Depredadores attack! The fans boo as they knock Templario y Mascara down, then mug Mistico 3v1! The ref reprimands but Collision goes picture in picture.

Depredadores stop to soak up the heat, then they drag Mistico up. They double whip him corner to corner, then they send Rugido to LARIAT! Magnus LARIATS! Then they feed Mistico to Volador’s SUPERKICK! Temp tags in, but Volador blocks a kick for Rugido to KICK that leg! Magnus adds a CHOP, and the process starts again. They double whip Temp to DOUBLE ELBOW, then DOUBLE ELBOW DROP! They stand Temp up for a SUPERKICK! Mascara is in but he gets mugged, too! And fed to Volador to put up top. Magnus UPPERCUTS, Volador GAMANGIRIS, and they YANK Mascara down for Rugido to basement DROPKICK! Volador covers, TWO!

Depredadores soak up the heat while keeping on Mascara. Volador grinds Mascara down with a chinlock but Volador also CLAWS at Mascara’s mask! The ref reprimands, but Volador drags Mascara up to whip. Mascara ducks under, tag to Mistico! Mistico dares Volador to bring it but Volador backs down to tag Magnus. Magnus offers a handshake, but that’s just so Rugido can KICK Mistico in the leg! Depredadores stomp Mistico around, then sit him up into a motorcycle stretch. Magnus BLASTS Mascara y Templario off the corner, then adds a leglock to the hold! Mistico endures, the ref reprimands, and Depredadores let go.

Rugido wrenches Mistico, CLUBS his arm, then brings him around. Tag to Volador, then Magnus steps in. They whip, DOUBLE HIP TOSS, but Mistico handsprings to DOUBLE ARM-DRAG! Rugido y Magnus are sent out, Mistico RANAS Volador! Mistico’s team steps in, the fans fire up, and Mistico leads his team in building speed! TRIPLE TOPES and down go Los Depredadores! The fans fire up and Mistico returns to the ring. The fans rally for “LUCHA! LUCHA!” as Magnus returns. Magnus and Mistico trade shots, Mistico SOBATS, then Mistico whips. Magnus reverses. Mistico keeps moving, springboard and CROSSBODY!

Rugido clamps on, but Mistico dodges, the CHOP hits Rugido! Mistico then RANAS Magnus, and he dodges Volador y Rugido! Mistico comes back to RANA Rugido away, then he dodges Voladro to RANA again! The fans fire up as Mistico again rallies his team. Templario builds speed and he FOSBURY FLOPS! Down go Volador y Rugido! Templario sets them up, Magnus runs in at Mistico, but Mistico dodges and SUPERKICKS! Magnus wobbles, Mistico runs, and Mistico uses Magnus to get up and FLY! Down goes everyone else, and then Mascara CROSSBODIES Magnus! Magnus gets up to wrench and kick, then underhooks.

Mascara fights the lift, dodges the lariat, then pops up to POISON-RANA! Mascara drags Magnus to the drop zone, goes up top, and SHOOTING STARS! Cover, Mascara’s team wins!

Winners: Mistico, Templario y Mascara Dorada, by pinfall

The CMLL Trios Champions and their amigo in the CMLL Middleweight Champion take down the Mexican National Tag Team and the living legend that leads them! Will these stars shine even brighter once AEW visits Arena Mexico in June?

AEW hears from Anna Jay, Harley Cameron, Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford.

The Queenslayer says, “Penelope, Megan, we are not finished with you.” The Wild Aussie says, “We’ve still got plenty of fruit left on these vines!” They will have a tag team match with them. The Megasus says when weaklings keep trying, some call it perseverance. Megan just calls it delusion. She has beat them both, but was that not enough? Anna says she doesn’t care who, one of them is getting choked out! Harley says she’s got some grapes of WRATH coming! The Superbad Girl says if they want a match so bad on Sunday, then don’t worry about her. Megan tells them to pray God shows them mercy, because Megan never will. That is, unless they #BowDown!

And so it is official! The Double or Nothing Buy-In will see Harley & Anna VS Megan & Ford! Who will win big this Sunday to perhaps even head for golden opportunities for the Summer?

Kris Statlander speaks.

“Willow. Who do you think I hang out with? What do you think I do? What’d I ever do to you? Besides spear you off the stage, drop you headfirst onto thumbtacks, and choke you with a chain… You may have a point. But, here’s mine. I’m sorry. I’ve made mistakes, but I am a very dangerous person. So be careful who you push, because they might just push back.” The Galaxy’s Greatest gave a friendly warning, but it was still a warning. Will this #BornAgainKristen find herself ruining her testament over an old grudge?

“Speedball” Mike Bailey & Komander w/ Alex Abrahantes VS La Faccion Ingobernable!

Part two of the double main event is here, and it has even more high-flying, hard hitting lucha libre! Bailey is still getting his shot at Kazuchika Okada and the Continental Championship, but will he and the Commander of the Skies survive this Collision? Or will Rush y Dralistico make sure Bailey is in no shape to face the Rainmaker?

Rush makes his entrance, but where is Dralistico? Dralistico attacks from behind! The fans boo as Dralistico knocks Komander and Bailey down! The bell rings and Dralistico stomps away on Bailey. Dralistico then goes out to ROCK Komander, letting Rush go after Bailey with a whip into railing! Bailey falls but Rush stands him up to THROW into more railing! Dralistico does the same to Komander, then SMACKS him off the desk! Dralistico CHOPS Komander, Rush HEADBUTTS away on Bailey, and Rush says HE is number one! Dralistico BOOTS Komander down! Rush SMACKS Bailey off the desk, then grabs that can of iDrinq!

Rush SMASHES the can in Bailey’s face! The ref reprimands, Rush y Dralistico revel in the cheers and jeers, and they mug Bailey. They put Bailey in the ring, then THROW Komander into railing. The fans rally for Speedball, but Dralistico stomps him down, Dralistico drags Bailey up by his hair, puts him against the ropes, and Rush holds Bailey up so Dralistico can CHOP! Bailey might as well have been shot! Rush CHOPS, whips, but Bailey grabs ropes! Bailey BOOTS Rush, BOOTS Dralistico, then Komander tags in! DOUBLE MISSILE DROPKICK! LFI bails out, the fans fire up, and Komander coordinates with Bailey.

Komander and Bailey both build speed, and they both DIVE onto LFI! Then they trade, and they DIVE the other way! The fans fire up as the two slide back in, go again, and DIVE! But LFI say “Nope!” and let both men crash ‘n’ burn! The fans fire up while Collision goes picture in picture.

Bailey writhes, Rush stalks him, and Dralistico stands on the barriers to soak up cheers and jeers. Rush throws body shots on Bailey, HEABUTTS him, then leaves him behind to taunt fans. Meanwhile, Dralistico POSTS Komander! Dralistico puts Komander in a GROUND COBRA TWIST, Rush RAMS Bailey into the steel steps, and then Dralistico puts Komander in the ring. Dralistico hoists Komander up top, then HAMMERS away on him! Dralistico pulls at the mask, the ref reprimands, and Komander fights back. Dralistico traps Komander’s arm to CLAW at the mask! Komander still fights, so Dralistico puts him in the Tree of Woe, for a KICK!

Komander flops to the mat and Dralistico argues with the ref. Dralistico drags Komander from the corner to then tie up the legs and pull on an arm! Komander endures, Dralistico STOMPS the knees, and Dralistico soaks up heat. Dralistico bumps Komander off buckles, sits him down, then runs side to side for a SUPERKICK! Dralistico lounges on the ropes and says tranquilo! Dralistico tags Rush, LFI mugs Komander, and Rush even SPITS at Bailey! The ref keeps Bailey back while Collision returns to single picture. LFI mug Komander more, and Rush CHOPS! Komander sputters, Rush whips him corner to corner, then whips Dralistico.

Komander goes up and over Dralistico, rolls, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then he RANAS Dralistico hard! Rush runs up, Komander dodges and springboards to DROPKICK! The fans fire up, hot tag to Dralistico, and he waits on Komander. Komander crawls, hot tag to Bailey! Bailey BOOTS Dralistico, BOOTS Rush, then he fires LIGHTNING KICKS on Dralistico! The fans fire up and Bailey ENZIGIRIS! Dralistico runs up, Bailey mule kicks, AX KICKS, and BUZZSAWS! Then STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Bailey glares at Rush, the fans rally up, and Bailey sits Dralistico up again. PENALTY KICK! STANDING-

NO, Dralistico moves, Bailey lands out, and Dralistico DREAMCAST KICKS! Both men crawl, hot tag to Rush! Rush storms up on Bailey, eggs him on, and drags him up. Bailey ROCKS Rush, but Rush brushes that off. Rush ROCKS Bailey and eggs Bailey on. Bailey and Rush fire forearm after forearm, and then they CHOP back and forth! The fans fire up, Rush eggs Bailey on again, then he blocks Bailey’s kick! Rush trips Bailey, Bailey avoids the stomps! Bailey runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Rush CHOPS! And CHOPS! Bailey runs, Rush dodges, ROLLING ELBOW! Bailey falls into a corner and the fans fire up!

Rush stomps away on Bailey, then runs corner to corner. Rush runs back in, feints the horns to BOOT Bailey! Rush says, “Tranquilo!” The fans are torn but Rush tags Dralistico. Rush sets Bailey up, Bailey shoves Rush away and Komander GAMANGIRIS! Rush flops out, Dralistico springboards in, but Bailey dodges! Bailey SUPERKICKS! Dralistico tumbles out, Komander is on the far corner! TRIANGLE JUMP MOONSAULT from Bailey, tightrope walk and ESCALARA from Komander! The fans are thunderous as Komander takes down LFI! Komander and Bayiley high-five, then they get Dralistico in the ring.

Komander puts Rush in the drop zone, and now both Komander and Bailey climb! They aim at LFI, DOUBLE SHOOTING STARS!! Cover, TWO?!? LFI survives and the fans can’t believe it! Abrahantes coaches his guys, “This is Awesome!” Bailey kicks Rush out, tags Komander in, and they focus on Dralistico! Komander springboards to FLYING DESTROYER!! Cover, RUSH BREAKS IT! Rush stands Komander up just to HEABUTT him back down! Bailey runs up, Rush sidesteps and SNAP GERMANS! Bailey flounders into a SLIDING KNEE! Rush fires up, the fans are torn, but he coordinates with Dralistico.

The fans duel as Rush goes out to get Bailey. Dralistico brings Komander up in a corner, and he underhooks, SUPER FACEBUSTER! Cover, TWO!?! Komander survives and the fans fire up! Rush runs up on Bailey but is sent into steel steps! Dralistico is shocked, but Komander gives him a POISON-RANA! Hot tag to Bailey! Bailey hurries to spin and TIME ADVENTURE! Komander adds the CIELITO LINDO!! Cover, Bailey’s team wins!

Winners: “Speedball” Mike Bailey & Komander, by pinfall

A high-speed combo wins it for- WAIT! The coin drops, and here comes Okada! The Continental Champion walks down the ramp, eyes on Bailey in the ring. Champion and challenger are face to face, and Bailey gives a respectful bow before offering a handshake. Okada reaches out, only to flip Bailey off! The fans are torn, but Bailey KICKS that finger and HEEL KICKS Okada! Okada tumbles out, Bailey builds speed, and Bailey FLIES! Down goes Okada and Bailey stands up with the belt! Will Speedball be too fast to be touched by the rain? Or will no one stop Okada’s reign of terror?

My Thoughts:

A very good Collision considering it is the go-home to Double or Nothing. But that said, it felt like a lot of last-minute promos were shoved onto this. Dustin & Sammy didn’t say anything more than what was said last night on Dynamite, and at least the one from Harley, Anna, Megan & Penelope established their match for The Buy-In. Toni’s was very good, as they always are, but it doesn’t add much from last night as the math already said Toni was winning. Very good promo for the tag team match contract signing, though, with a great brawl as part of it. Nigel & Garcia might win, but I mostly expect Adam Copeland to make his return as part of it.

Very good match from Mercedes VS Isis but it makes sense it wasn’t very long given we knew Mone would win. It was mostly a vehicle for one last confrontation of Hayter and Mone before the PPV. It still feels very likely that Mone wins so that she can face Toni and maybe they go title VS title at All In. Great stuff with the Don Callis Family throughout the night, all members getting wins tonight to stay strong. Great match of Paragon VS GYV, great win for Paragon, and instead of just cutting to the chase of Cole VS someone for the TNT Championship, they’re given us a Six Man Tag. That’s fine, because I expect whoever wins for Don Callis Family is the guy that faces Cole for the TNT Championship either at Fyter Fest or the first-ever “Summer Blockbuster.”

Maybe Excalibur misspoke but I know he called the lucha libre trios match a “main event.” Either way, great CMLL Six Man Tag, and naturally the Faces won that. It was just for a lot of fun, I would’ve thought maybe they could put this on the Buy-In, but it at least makes for good marketing on the road to Grand Slam: Mexico. And great tag match main event from Bailey & Komander VS LFI. Not sure what happened to them doing Titans of the Air, Komander & Hologram as a duo, but that’s typical AEW. Bailey’s team of course won so that he has momentum, and then Okada shows up so that Bailey can also stand tall over him. All that math adds up to Okada retaining at Double or Nothing, but it’ll be a great match for Bailey, too.

My Score: 8.8/10

PLAY BY PLAY

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

He brings up the Owen Hart Cup Finals, and the two men fighting for their chance at the AEW World Championship at All In. He introduces first, Hangman Adam Page! The fans fire up for the Blackhat Cowboy as he goes to the ring, and we notice the extra security already on hand. Schiavone then welcomes out the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay! Albuquerque fires up again as Ospreay sports his new baseball jersey style merchandise. Schiavone says both men know what is at stake. One goes on to All In: Texas to fight for the world title, upon winning the Owen Cup. Schiavone then turns things over to Ospreay and Hangman.

Ospreay thanks Schiavone and wants everyone to hear him out. He understands why there is security, but he won’t get physical. Will Hangman get physical? No? Good. Then he excuses the security and assures them, he’ll make sure they get paid for their time. Ospreay thanks them as they exit, and Ospreay says he just wants it to be him and Hangman. The fans cheer Ospreay for the gesture, and Ospreay tells Hangman that he has one very important question: “Do you still drink?” The fans boo but Ospreay says c’mon, not in a bad way! He just means, Hangman loves a good beer. And to be honest, Ospreay owes him an apology.

Ospreay says that when they got jumped the other day, Ospreay did take a swing on Hangman. But to be fair, Hangman gave him a headbutt. But like Ospreay’s dad says, when he gets hit in the face, it is a drastic improvement. But Ospreay does have some beers for them. The ring crew brings those over, and Ospreay hands Hangman one. Ospreay wants cheers, but Hangman stares him down. The fans are torn, Ospreay takes a swig, and says it’s fine. Ospreay puts his aside, and says while they need to get things off their chest, there is something else Ospreay wants to do.

Ospreay wishes to petition to Tony Khan and the AEW Board of Directors that Ospreay VS Hangman on Sunday are the main event. The fans like that idea! Ospreay says surely some still think he’s crazy. Why would Ospreay wanna follow one of the most destructive and brutal matches AEW has in Anarchy in the Arena? Why would Ospreay wanna follow three hours of amazing professional wrestling? Ospreay says to those people, “You do not know what is at stake!” The fans cheer, and Ospreay says not only is this about winning the beautiful Owen Hart Memorial trophy, not only is this about going to All In: Texas on Saturday, July 12th…

But the winner of this match is the person with the responsibility of bringing back that beautiful gold belt! The fans cheer that! Ospreay says he really wants this. He wants this so badly! He feels the moment he stepped here, he has done everything the right way. He leaves his home country on a Tuesday, arrives here, makes seven to 15 HOUR flights every single week! He barely sleeps on Tuesday, he is constantly jetlagged, doesn’t really know where he is, but he puts on his “crime fighting pants,” and he says ring the bell, bruv! The fans cheer that! Ospreay says he wants to wear the title with pride! To show it around the world!

And most importantly, he wants to bring it home. Ospreay brings up August 24th, Forbidden Door in London, the O2, an arena just 30 minutes from his home. There are people that have supported Ospreay from the ballrooms and the halls. He has been a young, immature man who has grown up right in front of them, and he wants to wear that title in front of them while he thanks them for their support! The fans also cheer that. But the other thing is, every Tuesday when he flies to the US is that he leaves his six-year-old son at home, and he wants nothing more than to walk into that building so his son can see him as WORLD CHAMPION!

The fans cheer more, and Ospreay understands how much Hanger wants it. But Ospreay wants it just that little bit more. The fans cheer Ospreay on, but then the “COWBOY SH*T!” rises. Hangman tells Ospreay, “That is the difference between you and I. And that will be the difference between you and I on Sunday. Will, you want this, you want it bad. And I know that feeling, because I have lived it. And I know that you understand that in ALL of professional wrestling, there is no prize grander, there is no greater honor, than to be the All Elite Wrestling World Champion, I know you know that!

“But Will… For you, this could be a professional accomplishment. Granted, it is the biggest professional accomplishment either you or I could ever dream of having! But it is that: A professional accomplishment. For me, this is personal. I don’t want this opportunity, I need it.” The fans cheer that, too! Hangman says he has WASTED two years of his life, filled with nothing but grief, sorrow, and hate! In those two years, Hangman has not won a single tournament or a single championship. The one thing that Hangman did win brought him nothing but the same. The worst of it wasn’t even here. It was when he was at home.

It was last Christmas morning, when Hangman’s son sat on the floor… playing with his new toys, he looked up to see his dad staring out the window, looking for someone he knew would never come back! How many times in two years did his son look at Hangman and feel disappointment?! Hangman NEEDS this!! When Hangman goes home, he needs his wife to look at him and not feel pity! She needs to see the man she fell in love with all those years ago! For Hangman’s kids to look up to him, to know they have the father they deserve! And for all these people who supported him when he deserved it the least to know that he can be the kind of man that THEY can believe in!

And Hangman needs this for himself. Because Hangman needs to know that there can be some kind of light at the end of this two year tunnel through Hell… Hangman needs it, because he needs to know Ospreay was wrong when Ospreay said that for Hangman, this was too little, too late. Ospreay scowls a bit as the fans get fired up. Ospreay tells Hangman, “So what’re you planning on doing about it? You’re gonna wrap a chair over my skull? You gonna beat me so bad that I have to retire, like you did Christopher Daniels? I’m not going down that path. Cuz I’ve been there, and it took a lot for me to come back.”

As silly as this might sound, Ospreay says he is showing up, and he is doing his best. And sometimes, his best hasn’t been good enough. He’ll admit that he’s lost. Lost bad. But he’s never lost because he dragged the ref around to get an advantage. He’s never whined to his boss about not getting his way. If Ospreay has lost, he has lost leaving it all in this ring! And if he’s lost, he at least won the fans’ respect! The fans cheer that, and Ospreay says more importantly… He won their trust! Hangman asks if that’s enough! Is that enough for Moxley and the Death Riders? Ospreay doesn’t know!! He doesn’t know what it takes!

Ospreay wrestled Moxley twice, and he lost both times! He doesn’t know how to do it, but Hangman does! So then show Ospreay! Show THAT man on Sunday! That fire, that animal! Because of Ospreay can beat that Hangman, then Ospreay knows he can beat Moxley! The fans fire up more, and Ospreay says Hangman used to be a pure-hearted man, and he can also be a bad man! He is a Cowboy! The one we’re meant to look towards when times are hard! But he hasn’t been doing that! He’s been staring out of the window! Hangman’s been looking for Swerve! His attention hasn’t been on being The Guy, but on someone else.

And Ospreay gets it, when someone crosses the threshold from business to personal, you gotta handle it. We could give Hangman a month, two months, three, but an entire YEAR?! An entire year has changed Hangman! The kids don’t look up to him! The men, the boys backstage, they lost respect for him. And the women have screamed in terror when Hangman wanted to kill Swerve! Ospreay is not that guy. Ospreay is just the guy that’ll show up and do his best. But before writing Ospreay off, Ospreay’s best has beaten MJF, Bryan Danielson, Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, anyone else you can name!

Wanna know what? Because Ospreay is the best in the EFFIN’ WORLD!! The fans are really fired up now! Ospreay tells Hangman, he knows that when the bell rings, anything can happen. If it is Hangman, Ospreay will be happy for him. And if Hangman thinks he has no friends, then it’ll take more than one person off of Moxley. Ospreay says if Hangman needs a friend, someone watching his back, Ospreay will have his back. Ospreay hopes the same goes back from Hangman. If Ospreay wins, hopefully Hangman will have his back. Ospreay then offers the toast again. So what Ospreay is saying, Cowboy, “Meet me in the desert! I’m calling you out for a shootout, bruv!”

Ospreay chugs his bear, HHH spits some of it, and then tosses his bottle. Hangman chugs his beer down to the very last drop, and the duel is set! Which one of these gunslingers hits the mark to then take aim at The Maniac in Texas?

Jon Moxley walks into the building.

Marina Shafir follows the Maniac AEW World Champion, and he seethes all the way. “Tensions are rising in AEW. The spoils will go to those that embrace the anarchy.” Moxley goes from pavilion to bleachers as he makes his entrance. Anarchy in the Arena is no longer the main event, but will this appetizer make up for that?

Six Man Tag: Jon Moxley & The Young Bucks VS Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe & “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs!

The trios sort out, Joe starts against Moxley and they go right to throwing hands! The fans fire up as Joe gets the edge, “JOE! JOE! JOE!” Moxley throat chops, the fans boo, and Moxley runs, but into a ROLLING ELBOW! Moxley and Joe fall back, and both teams have their guys calm down. Hobbs tags in, as does Matthew Jackson. The fans rally for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Hobbs and Matt tie up, and Hobbs SHOVES Matt down! Matt comes back, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Hobbs CLOBBERS him! The fans fire up as Hobbs then scoops Matt, brings him over, but Matt slips free! Nick GAMANGIRIS, then tags in!

The fans boo as The Bucks kick, run, and ALLEY-OOP DROPKICK! Swerve tags in, runs up, Nick sidesteps but Swerve flips with the ropes to come back! Swerve trips, laces the legs, then waistlocks. Nick fights with elbows, he runs but Swerve drops down, hurdles, and turns Nick’s leap over into a suplex! Swerve catches the superkick to hit a BACKBREAKER! Swerve runs at the corner, UPPERCUTS Nick and snapmares! Swerve goes up, Matt runs over, but Swerve DECKS him! Nick runs up, Swerve jumps over to HIP TOSS and gator roll! Swerve deadlifts for the suplex! The fans fire up, but Moxley and Matt attack!

The fans boo but Joe & Hobbs storm in! They all brawl, Moxley TOSSES Hobbs to the outside, and Nick RANAS Swerve! The Bucks regroup to DOUBLE PLANCHA, but Joe & Swerve pull the double “Nope!” Moxley builds speed, but Hobbs is in his way! Hobbs swings, Moxley CLAWS Hobbs’ eyes! Moxley shoves Hobbs down then runs to DIVE! Down goes Hobbs! The Bucks see Joe in the ring. Joe winds up and builds speed, but into DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! The fans boo but Matt brings Joe out. Nick builds speed, but Swerve slingshots and somersaults! COMPLETE SHOT! Swerve builds speed now to FOSBURY FLOP onto Nick!

Joe throws Matt away, builds speed after all, and he DIVES onto Moxley & The Bucks! The fans are thunderous and Joe flexes while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Joe drags Nick up, SMACKS him off the apron, then follows him around the way. Marina can only glare while Joe puts Nick in for Swerve. Swerve drags Nick up, wrenches and whips him to a corner, then CHOPS! Swerve snapmares and goes up, FALLING UPPERCUT! And he hits the Griddy! The fans cheer and Swerve drags Nick up again. Tag to Hobbs, Hobbs ROCKS Nick, then he DECKS him! Nick flounders, Hobbs brings him around to suplex. Hobbs holds Nick up for a count of TEN before the SLAM! Hobbs flips off Moxley and Matt, then goes back to N ick. Hobbs has Nick in a corner, whips him corner to corner, then runs up, but Nick dodges!

Nick KIKCKS Hobbs in the leg, hot tags Moxley, and Moxley wraps Hobbs’ leg in ropes. Hobbs fights back but Moxley CLAWS Hobbs’ face! Moxley climbs up and rains down fists! The ref counts, Moxley stops, but that lets Matt get cheap shots in! Hobbs slumps down and Moxley DROPKICKS the leg! Tag to Matt, and Moxley stands on Hobbs’ leg! Matt stomps Hobbs, then HIP DROPS the leg! Matt bends the leg on the ropes but the stops as the ref counts. Matt drags Hobbs over, tags Moxley, and Moxley helps Matt split the wishbone! Moxley talks trash while Dynamite returns to single picture.

The fans rally, Moxley stands Hobbs up, and he climbs up again to talk more trash. Moxley rains down fists, but Hobbs SHOVES him away! Hobbs hobbles but Moxley CHOP BLOCKS him down! Moxley stomps away on Hobbs, then tags in Nick. Nick puts some stank on the CHOP! Hobbs just gets mad! The fans tell Nick he messed up, but Nick kicks low. Nick winds up to CHOP Hobbs on the back again! Hobbs just frowns. Nick runs but into Hobbs’ arms! Hobbs POWERSLAMS Nick! Tag to Swerve but Nick tags Matt. Swerve LARIATS Nick, LARIATS Matt, repeat! Swerve then wrenches Matt and turns him for a NECKBREAKER!

Nick springboards to RANA, but Swerve blocks! Swerve pops Nick up for a POWERSLAM of his own! Nick hobbles up, Swerve runs in, but Nick BOOTS him! Nick cartwheels to the apron, then eggs Swerve on. Matt stomps Swerve around, ROCKS him, then throws hands. Matt bumps Swerve off buckles, tags Moxley, and Moxley throws hands. Moxley beats Swerve down then stands on him! The ref counts, Marina talks trash, and Moxley steps off at 4. Nick gets a cheap shot in while the ref is busy with Moxley. Moxley goes out to fetch Swerve and bring him around. Moxley makes Swerve take a seat, then he flips off the fans before raining down fists. Moxley BITES Swerve’s forehead but Swerve fires hands! Swerve fires more shots, and he backs Moxley down! I’m not a sane man, and we don’t give a s*it! We’re coming after you tonight in Albuquerque, whether you like it or not!!” Joe has put The Bucks & Death Riders on notice, will this fight go all the way into Collision and the rest of the week?

Backstage interview with The Hurt Syndicate.

Alicia Atout is with Montel Vontavious Porter, Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley, and their other lawyer on this very exciting evening. MJF is set to finally put pen to paper and join the team. How excited are they for this new chapter? MVP says yes, this is a momentous occasion. They are adding a fourth man. But regarding the excitement, you’d need to ask Max about that. “Oh, you can ask him, baby!” MJF steps in, wearing a brand new suit that is covered in gold leaf. Mark Sterling is also here, and MVP likes the suit. MVP says they’ll get some food, let his lawyer handle the legalese, and they’ll see MJF later.

MJF says absolutely. He fist bumps the Hurt Syndicate on the way out, and tells Alicia to scoot. MJF then tells Sterling that he did it! And a pleasure doing business with MVP’s lawyer, too. Sterling presents MJF with a pen, but Dynamite goes to break. Will it all be to MJF’s liking? Or will there be some fine print that bites him in the ass?

The Hurt Syndicate heads to the ring.

Mark Sterling already has a table set up as MVP & The AEW World Tag Team Champions enter, and MVP grabs a mic. “Attention AEW viewing audience. This is an official announcement from the Hurt Syndicate. Tonight’s a very special night. As you know, you’ve been following this drama as it has unfolded. We finally got the All Mighty to change his position, and tonight we officially induct our fourth member into the Hurt Syndicate.” The fans boo a bit, and MVP says hold on, they shouldn’t boo that. But he gets why they’re booing. Maxwell Jacob Friedman is better than all of them, and they know it.

So without further ado, the newest member of the Hurt Syndicate… Maxwell Jacob Friedman! M J F! The Scumbag makes his entrance, he has them cut his music, and he says he’d boo, too, if he was born and raised in Albuquerque. “Gentlemen, I gotta tell you, this reminds me of when I was a young little lad. My mother sat me down, and she said, ‘Son, the most important moment of your life is the day you marry the love of your life.’ And now that I’m older and wiser, I gotta say, clearly, that dumb b*tch never joined the Hurt Syndicate!” The fans boo, but MJF says, “Excuse me, I’m talking. Thanks, though, I appreciate the input.”

MVP also tells the fans to show respect to MJF. The only thing that sucks here is Albuquerque! They paid money to be here, so shut up and show respect to the young genius! MJF thanks Montel for that, and says he loves him. It is such a shame that such a great moment has to happen here, in a state nobody remembers exists. They don’t even have good sports teams here! Nobody cares about Albuquerque! Anyway, they’ve had their fun. Smart Mark, explain the legalese. Sterling assures that the contract benefits both parties. MJF will sign first, then MVP, Shelton & Lashley will sign to make MJF an official member of the Hurt Syndicate, LLC.

MJF tells the fans no one asked them, so please quiet down. MVP suggests booing their bosses when they go back to the jobs they hate. MJF finishes his part, then MVP signs his. Shelton signs, MVP tells more fans to shut up, and Lashley is last, much like he was with giving his thumbs up. Lashley hesitates, though. Now that it is really real, he might have second thoughts. Lashley double checks, MJF says he trusts “Bob.” MVP tells one fan in particular to shut up, men are conducting business! Lashley & Shelton check with their lawyer, MJF asks what’s the problem. Lashley goes back to the contract, and he works up the effort to sign his name.

The fans boo, but there’s nothing to it! MJF says this is the greatest moment of his life! He is now the newest member of- Wait, the Sons of Texas head out here? The fans cheer Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara, aka the ROH World Tag Team Champions, aka the #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Champions! Dustin has a mic but MJF says cut the music! And he tells them to look at him! Dustin & Sammy must be as dumb as these fans are ugly! He wants the White trash honkies to realize they have no right to interrupt this! Dustin tells MJF to shut up, “You stupid SOB!” All MJF does week in and week out is talk! MJF barely wrestles! He has no work ethic, grit, or even…

Well, Dustin will say this. Dustin hates MJF’s guts. He needs MJF to know that. MVP, you and Dustin do go way back. And Dustin has the utmost respect for MVP. He does. But it is in MVP’s best interest as businessmen to watch out for that snake in the grass. MJF says no, that’s not a thing. Dustin say she and Sammy are “day one guys!” Six years ago, Double or Nothing, they did something special! They changed the wrestling landscape! It was an unforgettable night. Fast-forward to now, this Sunday in Phoenix. They have an opportunity that they earned. They want more gold! They’re UNDEFEATED as ROH World Tag Team Champions!

The Sons of Texas have earned their AEW World Tag Team Championship match. Bobby, Shelton, Dustin wants you to look at him when he talks to you. Word is, they like to hurt people. Well, jump on Dustin and see if you can hurt him! He dares you! MVP says please, Dustin, be careful what you wish for. Dustin says there is nothing they can do to him and Sammy, bigger men have tried! And they may not know this, but Dustin & Sammy have both gone to Hell, looked the Devil in his eyes, and kicked his teeth in to claw their way out! They are day one, working around the clock, no off days! Do not think this will be a walk in the park, because it is not!

The fans cheer as Dustin says they fight with heart, honor, fire, passion, soul, and their work ethic is untouchable. One more thing: If Dustin were a betting man, he would bet on day one guys. See you at Double or Nothing. Mic drop from The Natural, and both he and the Spanish God are ready! But will they be able to topple The All Mighty & The Standard of Excellence? Or will Lashley & Shelton just have to hurt people?

Backstage interview with Kazuchika Okada.

Renee Paquette is with the Rainmaker and says last week, “Speedball” Mike Bailey called him out because he is eyeing the Continental Championship. Does he have an official response? “Yeah.” Then what is it…? “I’m the Continental Champion, I say what goes. Speedball, you do not call me out. I call you out! Double or Nothing, you find out why I’m then Continental Champion and you’re not.” Then it is official! But Renee notes that Speedball has yet to be pinned since arriving in AEW. Is Okada at all concerned? Okada says there is a first time for everything, trust him. Okada leaves, but comes back to tell Speedball, “Trust me.” Oh, okay…

The Rainmaker doesn’t hit his signature insult, but will he hit his signature move and be the first to beat Bailey? Or will Speedball be the NEW Continental Champion?

Ricochet VS Anthony Bowens w/ Billy Gunn!

Bowens BODY SHOTS, fireman’s carries, but Ricochet grabs at the ref! The ref shakes free but Ricochet slips down. Ricochet POSTS Bowens, then SWEEPS the legs!

Ricochet storms up and CHOPS! Bowens kicks Ricochet, CHOPS him, and then goes to a corner. Bowens runs up, Ricochet dodges and fires hands! Ricochet CHOPS, then he drags Bowens around. Ricochet taunts the scissor fingers and digs them into Bowens’ eyes! The ref reprimands, Ricochet stops, and he stands Bowens up to throw knees. Ricochet snapmares Bowens, runs, and then KOKESHI HEADBUTTS! Ricochet taunts the fans while Bowens writhes.

Ricochet goes back to Bowens but Bowens throws hands! Bowens rises, ROCKS Ricochet, then runs, but into a DROPKICK! Ricochet taunts Billy, argues with him, then covers Bowens. TWO, but Ricochet stalks Bowens to a corner. Ricochet CHOKES Bowens on the ropes again, stops as the ref counts, and then taunts the fans again. Ricochet goes back to Bowens but Bowens KICKS from below! Bowens kicks again, but Ricochet blocks to YANK Bowens from the corner. Ricochet then headlocks and rains down fists! The ref reprimands, Ricochet stops, and Billy is frustrated on Bowens’ behalf.

Ricochet taunts Bowens, CLUBS him down, then stalks him again. Ricochet looms over Bowens and CLUBS him down again as Dynamite returns to single picture. Ricochet drags Bowens up, puts one out, but Bowens fights the lift! Ricochet CLUBS Bowens, UPPERCUTS him, and CHOPS him! The fans boo but Ricochet runs, only for Bowens to blow past! Ricochet ducks, Bowens dodges, and Bowens mule kicks! Bowens front KICKS, then runs, FAMOUSER! The fans fire up and Bowens has Ricochet for a torture rack! Swing and SLAM! Cover, TWO! Ricochet survives and Bowens is frustrated but the fans rally behind Bowens.

Bowens waits on Ricochet, clinches, but Ricochet fights the Arrival with elbows! Ricochet spins but Bowens ROCKS him first! Ricochet hits back, Bowens ROCKS him again! The hand fly, Ricochet spins but into a BOOT! Bowens runs, but into a TIGER WALL KICK! SOBAT! FRONT KICK! But Bowens fires off the Rock, Paper, Scissors, SUPERKICK!! Cover, TWO!! Ricochet survives and Bowens grows frustrated. The fans rally, Bowens stalks Ricochet and waistlocks, but Ricochet slips out of the back suplex! V-TRIGGER! HEEL KICK! Ricochet goes to the corner, locks ‘n’ loads, and SPIRIT- NO, Bowens ducks it! Clinch and ARRIVAL!!

The fans fire up and Bowens signals the scissors! The fans join in, Bowens makes it a fist, MOLLY WHOP!! But Ricochet is sent out of the ring! Billy wants to fetch Ricochet for Bowens but the ref won’t let him! Ricochet crawls, Bowens brings him up, but RICOCHET HAS THE SCISSORS!! HE JABS BOWENS IN THE FORHEAD!!! The fans boo and Ricochet reloads! SPIRIT GUN!!! Cover, Ricochet wins!!

Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall

Just as Ricochet stole Swerve’s coat, and just as he stole Zach Gowen’s prosthetic leg, Ricochet steals this win and he steals the title of “Scissor King” from Bowens! But wait! Mark Briscoe is here with a stretcher! The fans cheer as Mark sneaks up, and he gets Ricochet’s attention! Ricochet freaks out as Mark says this is where he’s going on Sunday! Mark RAMS Ricochet with the stretcher, fires hands, and then scoops him onto the stretcher! Mark positions it at ringside, goes up top, but Ricochet scrambles away! Mark hops down and he tells Ricochet there’s no running away at Double or Nothing! Will Ricochet #ManUp or shut up against the Sussex County Chicken?

BREAKING NEWS for Thursday Night Collision!

While it is official for Double or Nothing, Speedball has business to handle before facing Okada! Bailey teams up with Komander against La Faccion Ingobernable! Will Bailey & Komander wrangle these bulls? Or will they just get the horns? And before she battles Jamie Hayter for the Women’s Owen Hart Cup, Mercedes Mone must defend her AEW TBS Championship against CMLL’s Reyna Isis! Will The CEO lose her belt before going for the trophy? Or can #ThreeBeltsMone build momentum for Double or Nothing?

Stokely Hathaway & FTR speak.

#BigStoke says, “Look what we have here. A contract in my email for your tag match at Double or Nothing, live on PPV this Sunday. And here’s the thing. We could sign this through a dopey Acrobat, but when you look to my left, when you look to my right, you see two men. You see two men who respect and honor the tradition of professional wrestling. You see the greatest tag team alive today, F T R! So we’re gonna do something special. Because Nigel McGuiness, Daniel Garcia, they want to look you in the eyes before they sign this contract. They wanna make sure that this is something that you really want to do.

“And you can even bring along your buddy, Daddy Magic.” Stokely does the fake cough trick as he calls Matt Menard “Dick ass.” Dax gives Stokely a cough drop and Stoke says we will all have the privilege and honor of seeing Nigel sign the last contract he will ever sign in his wrestling career, tomorrow night on Collision, live on TBS. #TopGuysOut. Will Nigel & Garcia be ready for anything FTR might try to pull this close to Double or Nothing?

Renee Paquette is in the ring.

The fans cheer and she says that tonight, we’ve already heard from the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Finalists. Now it is time to hear from the ladies. Renee has chairs set up and reminds us that these two women want to beat the ever loving crap outta each other, so she’ll do her best to keep things in order. That said, please welcome out the Hardest Hitting Hayter there is, the former AEW Women’s World Champion, Jamie Hayter! The fans cheer as Jamie makes her way out to the ring. Hayter takes her seat on Renee’s left, and now we welcome out The CEO, Mercedes Mone. The fans aren’t as excited as Mone struts her way out in her 1990s pop art bodysuit.

Mone takes her seat to Renee’s right, the fans duel, and Renee wants to start with Jamie. Jamie has accomplished something in AEW that Mone has not yet, and that is to hold THE AEW Women’s World Championship. Now, Jamie was sidelined with an awful back injury, but she has fought her heart out just to be back here. But this match makes it seem like Jamie is the underdog. How does it feel to Jamie? Jamie says if she’s the underdog, then so be it. Jamie just hates when people look past her, not realizing how that is a surefire way to get yourself hurt. It doesn’t matter if Jamie is on top of the mountain or deep on rock bottom, she will crawl her way back every single time.

Jamie will fight again and again and again, because that’s just who she is! She’s not some obnoxious C E O~! She doesn’t have people running around doing her dirty work. And she doesn’t walk around here like she’s the best thing since sliced bread! The fans cheer that, and Jamie says yeah, she’s rough around the edges. She doesn’t have it like Mone has it. Jamie will admit to it. But she’s still a fighter. Every single person sat out here tonight, everybody watching at home, helped mold Jamie into just that! This means more to Jamie than it does Mone, and they both know it! It really, really does.

Jamie says this isn’t even about a title anymore. Not to Jamie! It is more than that. This is about not being forgotten. The fans cheer, and Jamie tells Mone that when the bell rings, the confetti falls, and the cup is lifted, if it ain’t Jamie doing it, then what the hell does that even mean for her? Is she just not good enough? Should she even come back? What’s her fight? What’s her why? Will anyone even care? Mone’s guess is as good as hers, but as always, Jamie’s back is against the wall. But what she does is she laces up her boots and she hits bloody hard! That just who Jamie Hayter is! The fans cheer that!

Renee turns to Mone and says Jamie is bringing a new level of intensity even in Mone. Is Mone worried Jamie will be the first woman to beat her in singles competition since joining AEW? The fans cheer that idea! Mone says, “Worried? Renee. Me, worried? Do you not know who the Hell you’re talking to? Jamie Hayter, you think you have me all figured out, but you don’t. Because I am more than just a champion. I’m a revolution. I am the Beyonce of Women’s Wrestling! And I’m not looking past you, I’m looking straight through you like the glass doll that you are.” The fans boo but Mone says she always gets what she wants.

And her destiny is our reality. And the reality is, she will be headed to All in: Texas to become THE AEW Women’s World Champion! The fans are torn, but Mone says Jamie wants to throw shade at her success. Mone is the greatest TBS Champion ever! 360 days and counting, 25-0 in singles competition! She didn’t get there by luck, but by hard work and dedication. So Jamie, at Double or Nothing, Mone will show you why she’s the CEO. It is more than just about winning, but about leaving her legacy. Jamie, Mone wants you to bring your best, to be the best, to be the fighter that you say you are.

Because Double or Nothing will not be where Jamie’s story begins, but where her chapter in Mone’s story ends! Mone laughs, the fans boo, but Jamie has a rebuttal. She wants to ask everyone here tonight, “Have you noticed something a little bit different about Mercedes? She’s looking a little bit lighter, if you will. Something’s missing, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.” Jamie looks Mone up and down, and then says she figured it out! Mone lost the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship! Jamie remembers because she watched Resurgence. That was Mone’s destiny, and Mone’s destiny is to now lose everything!

Mone SHOVES Jamie down! Mone rains down fists on Jamie, Renee bails out, and Mone shoves the chairs aside. Mone is pissed as she makes Jamie look at the belts she still has. But then Hayter grabs an arm, and gives Mone HAYTERADE!! But then Timeless Toni Storm is here! The fans cheer as THE AEW Women’s World Champion is here already, wanting to see her potential challengers before the big night. But at the same time, she’s going to watch her next challenger in person while on commentary! The Fighting Gravure Idol and the Princess of the Black Throne are in the main event, will it all be about #MinaNow?

Mina puts Toni in a corner, ties up those legs around the post, HANGING FIGURE FOUR!! The ref reprimands, Luther calls for reinforcements, and the fans are going nuts! Mina lets go when she’s satisfied, and now Toni might be in trouble. Will it only get worse for Toni when it’s time to go Double or Nothing?

Swerve has a chain, Omega has a trash can, and now THIS is an appetizer! They brawl out onto the stage, using the tron and the railing as part of this! Marina is sent into railing! Omega CHUCKS a trash can into Moxley! Swerve CHOKES Nick and puts him in the ring! The fans rally as things go down the ramp, Dynamite’s theme song plays in the spirit of Anarchy in the Arena! Omega has Swerve’s chain and uses it to CHOKE Nick! Joe BOOTS Moxley against barriers! Omega CLUBS Nick, but Nick HOTSHOTS Omega! Hobbs has Claudio, Shibata puts Yuta in a trash can to SMACK away with a kendo stick!

The Bucks turn things around on Omega, beat him up 2v1, and Nick has the chain now! The fans cheer on “A E DUB! A E DUB!” as Swerve and Moxley brawl! E V P TRIGGER to Omega!! Claudio SMACKS Hobbs with a chair, but that just pisses Hobbs off! Joe and Moxley brawl now, but the Bucks aren’t done with Omega! They get him up, but Omega slips free! Omega shoves Matt into Nick! Hobbs CHOKES Claudio, Omega SLAM DUNKS Matt! Swerve is in, BOOT for Nick! Omega and Swerve nod, but Moxley CHOKES Joe! Willow beats down Marina, Omega and Swerve have the Bucks! V-TRIGGER and HOUSE CALL in stereo!!

Joe powers out to turn things around on Moxley! COQUINA CLUTCH!!! Joe makes the AEW World Champion pass out! But GABE KIDD is here! He CLOBBERS Joe with the title briefcase!! The Mad Man slips in and CLOBBERS Swerve! And CLOBBERS Omega! He rains down fists on Omega, the fans boo, but Gabe says he wasn’t just gonna go back home! The Bucks bring out the TABLES! Things have turned around from earlier tonight as The Bucks drag Swerve to the table! Gabe CHOKES Omega, puts him on the outside, and now Omega is put on the other table! The Bucks climb the corners, Yuta makes Nana watch!

STEREO MACHO ELBOW AND FROG SPLASH, DOWN THROUGH THE TABLES!! Albuquerque loses their minds, and the evil alliance of Death Riders and Elite stands tall! How much more chaotic will things get when it’s Anarchy in the Arena?

My Thoughts:

A great episode, even for being a go-home that was light on matches. But at the same time, it had more promos and build. Awesome face-to-face promo from Ospreay and Hangman, and even with the passion and bringing up the past, these guys stayed Faces and are keeping it at “may the best man win.” As such, that really keeps things up in the air. Either guy would make a great challenger for Moxley, especially if the story is that Hangman and Ospreay will work together to make sure it is a fair fight. Also a great promo segment from Hayter and Mone with how they brought some fire to that moment. Mone losing her cool over Hayter bringing up her loss was good stuff, but Hayter standing tall makes me think Mone wins now.

Great segue from Mone and Hayter to Toni watching Mina VS Julia. Great match for the main event, but naturally Mina wins to have momentum. Skye Blue showing up and Toni getting involved was also good stuff, but I’m a bit surprised Mina and Toni took it that far. Mina standing tall over Toni on top of her match momentum, clearly Toni retains at Double or Nothing. Then it will be Toni VS Mone, and I would think Mone retains her title against Reyna Isis tomorrow night. And since we’re not going double or nothing on titles, maybe we go all in, with Mone putting up her TBS Championship against Toni’s Women’s World Championship, with the winner becoming the first dual AEW Women’s Champion.

Good promo from Stokely & FTR to set up their contract signing on Collision, and that will be a good segment for the go-home. Pretty fun stuff with MJF and the Hurt Syndicate, but I feel like MVP adlibs his responses a little too much. He didn’t need to keep shouting down the fans unless someone was actually saying something offensive. I appreciated Lashley playing up like he was going to go back on the deal, but also they kept teasing how there might be someone other than MJF joining. Dustin & Sammy showing up was logical, but I feel like Dustin only had most of his promo put together. But as I’ve said before, I don’t see Sons of Texas winning this one. I wonder if MJF has a part to play, too…

Ricochet VS Bowens was a very good match but I’m a little surprised, and maybe disappointed, Bowens’ return push was sacrificed to Ricochet getting momentum going into Double or Nothing. But I suppose the “Scissor King” crown was good enough a reason to have a match. I would’ve waited until after Double or Nothing so that Ricochet and Bowens could have an actual feud going through the summer. Mark going after Ricochet was good stuff, but he kinda gave away the big spot he wants to do: Froggy-Bow to a stretcher. The math on this match is fairly even, but it’d make sense if Ricochet won to stay hot towards a title opportunity of his own.

Speaking of, good promo from Okada to set up Okada VS Bailey. I wonder if he chose to swerve us on saying “b*tch” or he was told to pull back a bit. It feels more like an Okada thing to make that move himself. Bailey & Komander surely find a way to win against LFI tomorrow, but I can’t be sure about Bailey VS Okada. I still think a great idea is to violate the Continental Rules by The Bucks ending up ringside. Given how tonight ended, I can see the Faces and Heels not wanting to wait to get Anarchy in the Arena started, so The Bucks either brawl their way ringside or are chased ringside, Bailey wins, but Okada retains as it is a disqualification and Champion’s Advantage is a thing.

But of course, great stuff with the Anarchy in the Arena field. Awesome Six Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, but then the Heels stand tall to close the night, so the math is a wash. The stuff tonight was a great teaser, so that Anarchy match is going to be wild. It could go either way, really, but the result should also lend itself towards the next phase in the story. I don’t know if Darby Allin will be back in time for Sunday, because helping the Faces win AITA would be a great way to return, and it means one more ally for Team AEW to fight against the Death Riders.

My Score: 8.8/10
