Join Michael Cole, The Miz & Big E in discussing, analyzing, and predicting all the action happening for this historic PLE return to Germany!
Michael Cole sits down for an interview with Randy Orton.
Cole says he’s been looking forward to this, because there’s a lot to talk about. They’ll start at Survivor Series, November 2023. Orton returned after a year and a half with a serious back injury. Did he think he was ever coming back? Orton says there was about six months that went by where he thought no, that was it, he was done. It hit him like a semi-truck. This is who he is. Being a pro-wrestler, a WWE Superstar, is everything. He went through a lot of agony with the procedure they used, but then three months later, he could start training again. He started the process slowly, and found himself stronger in the gym, recovering very quickly.
And before he knew it, he called Hunter and started at the Performance Center. Cole says it was clearly all worth it, because when he returned, it was a monster pop. What’d that feel like? Orton was so nervous. It happens to a lot of wrestlers. He talked with HBK, Hunter, Austin, Taker, and when you come back, everyone deals with that moment of things getting in your head. Will the fans remember? Or even care? So his confidence was a 3 out of 10, but then by WrestleMania, he was good.
Cole says Survivor Series was also a weird moment because not only did Orton return, but after the WarGames match… Orton figured this is where Cole would go. CM Punk returned that night, what did Orton feel? Orton says Hunter told him they needed to talk. This and that, glad to have Orton back, and one more thing: Punk’s coming back tonight. Orton asked if he was messing with him. But hey, he was fine to be back, so he let it happen. As he waited on Punk, he realized he had his moment, Punk gets his moment, it was all okay after. But going into it, it was a “mind eff.” But in the end, Orton’s glad Punk is back, they talked, and they can look back and laugh now.
Cole says a lot has changed in WWE. Is it for the better? 100%. Once Orton was back on the road, he saw things operate so much more smoothly. The morale in the locker room has changed, too. They get to go home now! A family matter, daughter being born, sure, you can have time off. Been working hard for three years? Take a few weeks off. And if the roster is happy and healthy, it’ll show, and the fans will respond to that. Cole says the WWE isn’t the only thing that’s change. Orton himself has changed, right? Orton says yeah, of course.
Then if the Orton of 2024 could talk to a 23-year-old Orton, what would he say? Orton would tell himself, “Don’t do what those other guys are doing.” There were examples of “too much too soon.” At the same time, if those things hadn’t happened to him, he might not be here today. Thinking from the fan side, they’ve seen Orton grow up and mature. That was fun for him, hopefully it was good for the fans, too. Cole also followed that ride. Fans are on his side now, does that affect his approach? It does. Orton remembers John Cena’s prime. That was a teachable moment. That is how a good Face interacts with fans both on and off camera.
So a younger Orton would look for the most vulnerable child in the first few rows, lock eyes, and then make it his job to make that kid to cry. That might be a part of him that still wants to do that, but he’s suppressed those thoughts. So he hates to say that he hates to say it, but he likes being a good guy. He enjoys the respect from the fans. It was a long, hard earned respect. It was faster for guys like Cena, but it took Orton longer because it took him longer to find himself. More with The Viper coming, later in the show.
Backstage interview with Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill.
Peter Rosenberg greets The StrongEST Duo as they walk in, and says it’s been since Fanatics Fest that they talked. How was the trip over? Oh, it was a long trip, a long tour, but they are ready to go for those titles. About that, this is an interesting situation. This team is such a force, but now they’re the challengers. Does that add pressure? It does. But losing the titles is the best thing that could’ve happened to them, because it makes them mentally stronger. At the end of the day, did they lose the titles? Yes. But it was a Triple Threat, so did Alba & Isla pin them? No. In the history books, there is no asterisk over that, they’re the champs, and that’s what matters here.
Bianca & Jade know it is going to be a hard match tonight, but they will take those titles back. This is more than just a match. They have so much to prove. Jade says Alba & Isa are keeping the belts warm. Bianca is doing her best to put those two over because she cares for them, but Jade does not. Jade & Bianca are taking back what is respectfully theirs. So tonight is their night. Time to take over and take back the Women’s Tag Team Titles! Bianca & Jade are ready, will Alba & Isla be unable to stop them?
Backstage interview with Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan.
Jackie Redmond is with “Dirty Dom” and the Women’s World Champion. Tonight is one of the more personal and polarizing matches tonight. Many fans sympathize with Damian & Rhea, but why are Dom & Liv the ones that feel betrayed? Liv says wow, what a dumb question. Not only did Rhea turn on Liv when they were tag team partners, but she made sure Liv & Raquel Rodriguez lost the tag titles. And then, days later, Rhea injured Liv’s shoulder. Liv can keep going if Jackie wants. As for Dom, Rhea & Priest are just the worst, Liv is way better, and he gets tendies whenever he wants.
But what is funny, is Liv feels when she and Dom were with Rhea, they wanted to share success and love with her, but she wouldn’t have it. Now that they’re against her, they’re sharing love and success with each other. How poetic. Yes… Jackie wishes them luck, but will this “power couple” feel powerless against The Terror Twins?
Backstage interview with Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley.
Cathy Kelley is with said Terror Twins, and says Liv Morgan has been flaunting both the world title and Dom around this week. They all used to be friends, family even, is there any hesitation or regret going into this? Rhea says she and Damian are very different people from when they first joined Judgment Day. They made regrettable decisions, yes, but Liv’s little revenge tour has gone beyond revenge, so now she and the rest of Judgment Day will regret their decisions. Priest adds that everyone has a past, and sometimes that past isn’t the best version of yourself. Some learn from that past, they grow and they change. Some.
Dom is still the same immature scumbag little kid that Priest met. And tonight, the Judgment Day receives their punishment! Rhea smiles, will she and Priest get to eradicate Dom & Liv tonight?
Backstage interview with Triple H.
Byron Saxton sits down with The Game as he has the pleasure of talking with the Chief Content Officer. They shake hands and HHH says it’s always good to see Byron. Byron says Bash In Berlin is a major event for WWE and Germany, but this also means a lot to HHH. HHH was here in 1997, during the Monday Night Wars, Raw from Germany. How does it feel to be back? Amazing, but too long. 27 years ago, HHH wrestled here against Bret Hart in front of six thousand at the time. But Germany was always one of HHH’s favorite destinations, especially over the years with Motorhead.
But now, 2024, it is massive tonight. Over 13 thousand, sold out, hottest ticket in town, and in incredible event. History will be made here. Tonight, the highest grossing arena event in WWE history, a record set at Clash at the Castle, broken by Backlash in France. All sell outs, seventh international PLE for the year, which speaks to the dedication to the international fanbase. Those fans are second to none. HHH is looking forward to bringing this to wherever they’re going.
Then for HHH personally, how special is it to see on an almost monthly basis? Humbling. He sees how hard everyone works, but it pays off when they come to another side of the world and just have people losing their minds. France, Germany, Japan, seeing this reaction, seeing the popularity of the superstars, Fanatics Fest in the US was a big one. The most popular thing, it is an incredible time, not lost on the WWE, and they are doing everything they can to show we’ve seen nothing yet. Byron thanks HHH for his time, and hopes everyone enjoys the show.
Jackie Redmond tags in for Michael Cole.
The Miz welcomes her with donuts from right here in Berlin, Germany. They all get a donut, and take a bite! Jackie says these are legit. The Miz loves these donuts, but he can’t have more because of his diet. But there’s no love lost in the story of Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. They cue up a video package to share the brutal history of the Strap Match and all its related wrist-bound match types. Who will use those thirteen feet of leather to leave the other bloody and broken?
Corey Graves has a sit-down interview with Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens.
He thanks them both for their time, and wants to start with this friendship. How long have they known one another? What were initial impressions? Kevin met Cody around 2015, when he was first called up to the main roster. Kevin being in NXT, becoming NXT Champion, he of course knew Cody’s dad, Dusty, and so he already liked Cody before meeting him. Kevin liked Cody right away. Cody says yeah, they were friends from the start. There’s a photo of when the Rhodes family revealed the Dusty statue, and so it is all family, and then Kevin on the end. It still fit somehow.
Cody’s journey away from the WWE, a large part of that is thanks to Kevin. Kevin gave Cody the names of some friends, as well as their numbers, and also he called those people to vouch for Cody. Kevin says he was still watching Cody wherever he went. Kevin saw the Cody that Cody wanted to be, and told him, “That’s it.” Then how did it feel for Kevin to watch Cody #FinishTheStory? It was incredible. Cody had a vision of how he should be treated and what he could accomplish, and he was right. Seeing him win was the last missing piece.
Corey says they’ve both been on a roller coaster journey. Kevin has had Cody’s back against The Bloodline, so why was he hesitant to take this title match? Kevin feels he doesn’t deserve it. His win-loss record should matter. Triple H was once literally handed a title. Kevin hated that! Sorry, Hunter. But Kevin doesn’t want that for the fans. Then why was it bringing up Roman Reigns that made Kevin accept. Because of what Roman did to both Kevin and the rest of the roster was despicable. Roman can’t just walk back in. If it was a choice between Roman and Kevin, Kevin sure wasn’t letting Roman get it.
Cody says he does wish there was another way to have gotten here, but he feels Kevin still would’ve earned this opportunity. Kevin says he’d feel better if he had earned it, but it is all moot now. Kevin isn’t thrilled, is all. Then to play Devil’s Advocate, Corey brings up those who say Cody chose Kevin because Kevin is someone Cody feels he can beat. Is that the case? Not at all. Let’s run the numbers: AJ Styles; Solo Sikoa; Logan Paul. Kevin can beat all those guys. Kevin feels that way, too. He hasn’t beaten them in awhile. Corey says that having these doubts doesn’t sound like Kevin. Cody agrees, and that this is becoming a rather awkward interview.
Kevin says this isn’t doubt. He isn’t confident or arrogant anymore, either. He is just realistic. Cody says it just seems odd, no one in the history of pro-wrestling has ever been told they are getting such a title opportunity, and they come back like Kevin has with, “No, I don’t want it.” That’s not what Kevin said. He of course wants it, just not like this. He wanted to earn it, so he can look at himself and know he worked his way there. Then is there any chance this match temporarily or permanently affects their friendship? Kevin doesn’t. He is excited to be in the first PLE in Germany in history, he’ll give everything he can. If not, his kids will kill him.
Cody says he is more focused than he ever has been. He is in the quarterback spot, he is not giving the ball over, even to a good friend. Corey hopes this friendship remains in tact, and he wishes the best of luck to both men. They shake hands, but will the friendship survive the gold? We won’t have to wait too long, because the Undisputed WWE Championship will open the show!
Backstage interview with Gunther.
Sebastian Hackl of WWE German commentary has the honor of speaking with Der Ring General, and asks how he is feeling. Very good, thank you. Gunther said the other day on the kickoff show, it’ll be a slap left, a slap right, then he goes home. Does he really think it’ll be that easy against Randy Orton? Gunther says no, not that easy, obviously. Orton is a 14-time World Champion, but that means he lost 14 times. Gunther has won it once, he plans on never losing it. Then as the fans said, “What a wonderful day!” Is this the best day in his career so far? He isn’t sure. Every match is very special, but especially here in Berlin.
Being the representative of the German speaking wrestling community is a big responsibility. He is here to be in those big pressure situations, and he can’t wait to go out there and be the World Heavyweight Champion against one of the greatest. Hackl says this is the calm before the story, will Gunther strike like lightning? Or will The Viper strike outta nowhere?
WWE now presents part two of the Randy Orton interview.
Michael Cole says one of the things that’s cool about Bash In Berlin is something that wouldn’t have been done in the past. King of the Ring, Gunther and Orton have an incredible match. Gunther wins, but with some controversy. Things would’ve moved on. HHH did say there was a mistake, this is making up for that. Orton loves the fact we can call back even just that far. Orton said it himself, Gunther only had his shot at SummerSlam because he “beat” Orton. Great story, very real. Cole says that match as fabulous. Orton thanks him for that. That was their first match against each other. Like him or hate him, Gunther is one of a kind.
When Orton came back, Gunther was on the short list of guys Orton wanted to watch out for. Orton knew he could handle a bomb or a clothesline, but now he’s even more confident. He is flying his wife to Berlin so she can watch in person. The energy in the venue is going to be so cool, he wants her to feel that. Orton can’t wait for this match. He can’t wait for the fans to react. Cole is excited to call this thing. He also wants to see how the fans react to Orton. They might sing his song, cheer for him, but then there’s Gunther, born in Austria but made his name in Germany, a hero to the people. Yes, he’s a living legend in Europe. It will be interesting, but Orton is still the Legend killer, so…
Now, with all of Gunther’s talent, why does Orton feel Gunther had to dig into the dirt? Bringing up the Orton family, Randy’s own past, all that. The match was set for the title, that prize makes this match what it is. But if Orton is Gunther, the only reason to make it personal is because the other guy has a leg up on him. So did all that bother Orton? Of course, no one likes hearing negative things about their family or themselves. But did it get under Orton’s skin? Not really.
Then some final questions. First: Orton is creeping up to history. He and HHH are 14-time world champions, that is a tie for second. But if Orton wins and becomes a 15-time, he stands alone as second place, just behind the record of 16, held by John Cena and Ric Flair. Does Orton think about it? Being tied with Hunter, and only behind Cena and Flair, that’s a great spot already. But if Orton could break another record, and holding such a prize more times than anyone else, that’s every little kid’s dream. Orton has broken records, set some others, but one record he’s always been after is the world title reigns, but that might also be the most difficult one at this point.
Cole reminds us that when Orton won his first, he was the youngest to ever hold a world title. 20 years later, Orton is a surefire Hall of Famer. Cole is honored to have watched Orton’s growth, it has been sensational. Cole wishes Orton luck on getting that 15th. Tonight is already historic, will this main event make it an amazing night?
Backstage interview with CM Punk.
Cathy Kelley is with The Second City Saint, and says he has been vocal about the pain he wants to inflict on Drew McIntyre. But could he elaborate on the emotional damage he plans to deal. Punk chuckles and says, the closer we get to bell time, the more weight I feel on my shoulders. This is a fight, and it’s personal. So yeah, I’m gonna hurt him. I’m gonna try and inflict every single piece of damage he did to me over the past six months, and that’s physically as well as mentally. I’ll be fighting for my pride and my family, I’m gonna make sure he’s fighting for his life.” Will the Best in the World give McIntyre the worst whipping of his life?
In the world of professional wrestling, one word drives everything: Momentum.
Triple H says, “We are in the What’s Next business, and what’s next… Is pretty damn special.” WWE continues its overseas expedition, and are enjoyed every minute of it. For Der Ring General, his momentum began forming long ago. The World Heavyweight Championship is his greatest achievement so far, but this is just the beginning. And Gunther didn’t do it alone, as Ludwig Kaiser has been by his side since the beginning. Nothing catches him off guard. But The Viper says that’s fine, he wants Gunther to see what’s coming.
The American Nightmare’s key to success is moving swiftly from what was to what’s next. Everything he went through to become WWE Champion, imagine the lengths he will go to stay champion. He promises Kevin Owens will be surprised by how much of his game Cody knows. And tonight, on one of Europe’s biggest stages, the hope is that this momentum will lead to success. No one can run forever, and much of this has been a long time coming. This is WWE Bash In Berlin!
Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Kevin Owens!
The American Nightmare offered this shot to a man he felt was deserving, but that man didn’t feel the same way. But that man wasn’t about to let the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, or anyone else from The Bloodline get this shot, so he had no choice but to accept. Will Kevin bring out “The Prizefighter” that was once the top champion in WWE? Or will Cody’s story not end here?
The fans of course sing along with Cody’s sing, “WHOA~ OH~!” and we again hit triple decibels like last night. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is truly deserving of it when they hold it up high overhead!
The fans already sing for “Cody, Cody Rhodes~! Cody, Cody Rhodes~!” The bell rings, Kevin stares Cody down, and the fans now sing a Berlin fight song. Kevin hops off the corner, the fans cheer more, and both Kevin and Cody take a moment just to hear it all. Berlin is already thunderous with a chant of “In Your Face!” in German, and then Cody and Kevin shake hands. The two circle, tie up, and Cody wrenches. Cody has the wristlock, the fans duel, and Kevin puts Cody on ropes. Kevin lets off cleanly, and the two reset. They circle, Kevin stays back from Cody’s leg pick, and then Kevin facelocks. Cody wrenches out to hammerlock, then headlock back.
The fans cheer, and Kevin slips out the back to headlock in return. Cody powers up and out, but Kevin runs him over! The fans cheer again, and Cody gets up. Cody stands up on the barrier and fans fire up even more! Cody goes back to Kevin, drags him up and puts him in. The fans sing for Cody again as Cody covers, ONE! Cody stays cool, then brings Kevin up. Cody hits a hip toss, then clamps on a short arm scissor!
Kevin endures, the fans rally, and Kevin fights around. Kevin rolls to roll Cody, and they end up in the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Cody lets off cleanly, and the fans duel again. Cody storms up but Kevin fires a body shot! Cody CHOPS, whips, then kitchen sink knees! Cover, TWO! Or as the fans let us know, “ZWEI~!” Cody stomps Kevin’s leg, stomps it some more, and Kevin goes to ropes. Kevin CHOPS, and CHOPS, but Cody DROPKICKS! Cody has the leg, steps through, and the fans “WOO~” for the FIGURE FOUR! Kevin grabs at Cody and the fans rally! Kevin’s shoulders are down, ONE as he sits up!
Kevin pries at the legs but Cody puts on the pressure! Kevin still fights, still reaches out, and he pushes on the legs to get the ROPEBREAK! Cody lets off, Kevin stands, and then Kevin CHOPS! Cody ROCKS Kevin! Cody runs, but Kevin dumps him to the apron! Kevin kicks the supposed bad leg, then he BLASTS Cody off the apron! Cody hits barriers, and Kevin hits a FROG SPLASH from the apron! The fans fire up, and Kevin puts Cody in the ring. Cover, TWO! Kevin clamps onto Cody with a cording hold, and he digs his elbows into ribs. Cody fights back so Kevin stomps Cody. Cody and Kevin rise, and Kevin atomic drops! Cody dodges the lariat to run and CLOBBER Kevin!
Cody goes to a corner, baits Kevin in to go up and over, then SNAP POWERSLAM! The fans fire up and Cody grits his teeth. Cody rises, the fans fire up more, and Cody springboards, BEAUTIFUL DISASTER KICK! Cover, TWO! Kevin is still in this but Cody just catches his breath. Cody pounds the mat, the fans clap along, and Kevin rises. Cody springboards, CODY- NO, Kevin again catches the cutter, and he GERMAN SUPLEXES! The fans cheer, and then Kevin SUPERKICKS Cody! Cody dragon sleepers, for a CROSS RHODES!! Cover, Cody wins!!
Winner: Cody Rhodes, by pinfall (still Undisputed WWE Champion)
While Cody hit four Cross Rhodes, Kevin’s hesitation and internal conflict is what lost it for him. The singles title drought of seven years, the world title drought of eight, all because Kevin didn’t go all out against Cody. Cody wants to show Kevin respect, but Kevin is too upset with himself. The fans cheer for Kevin, and Kevin hugs it out with Cody! Kevin raises Cody’s hand in victory, and he won’t let Cody return the favor. It is clear The American Nightmare will be the target of Solo Sikoa, will Kevin stay by Cody’s side to fight The Bloodline all over again?

Four Corners Strap Match: CM Punk VS Drew McIntyre!

McIntyre has been borderline blasphemous talking about how he prayed for Punk’s suffering, then became the man who made it happen, all the while taunting Punk with the bracelet he stole. Will McIntyre pile on from SummerSlam with another humiliating defeat? Or is this where Punk finally gives “DM Hunk” his comeuppance?

My Thoughts:
A great night for the first-ever Bash In Berlin event, but I am starting to question having two hour long pre-shows with not one match. Or just the length of time at all. Granted, they got a lot of great interview promos in on this one, a lot more than I remember even SummerSlam having. But I’m not on the East Coast, I had to get up earlier than I’d like on a Saturday to make sure I didn’t miss anything. But even with that, everything else was so much fun, as have all the events outside of the USA. I really appreciate them bringing in the sound meter, it was fun to see the fans blast into the triple digits for the big moments.
As such, I was rather surprised the Undisputed Championship opened tonight. I thought this meant we were getting a huge moment, namely Kevin Owens snapping and turning and being Heel Prizefighter again. However, the story of the match went just as I expected: Kevin was conflicted on bringing out that merciless side of himself, and he lost because of it. Kevin kept his cool after losing, and showed Cody respect. But c’mon, something has to happen to make Kevin turn on Cody. Chances are, with Solo Sikoa claiming he’s got next and that means Bloodline will go after Cody again, I’m sure there will be plenty of chances for Kevin to turn on Cody, even if it’s just abandoning him over hurting him directly.
Great tag title match, a little janky at first, but it was much more crisp by the end than other matches. I am actually surprised Jade & Bianca won, but I suppose this was to be their comeback story. Alba & Isla had these belts three months but they didn’t really get to do much, and it’s hard to know why. It is hard to balance all these divisions and these different stories, and the Women’s Tag Division was more about the teams coming for the champs than the champs themselves. Maybe with the belts back on Jade & Bianca, they’ll get the titles some spotlight again, going between both brands and getting all the other teams up and running, too.
While I didn’t like them going Four Corners with the Strap Match, and I still really don’t, Punk and McIntyre did a great job with this one. I mentioned it during the match, but I vividly remember Batista carrying JBL in a fireman’s carry, and JBL sneaking tags while Batista went around, so nice to see McIntyre and Punk using the same idea. I still think NJPW did this better with their KOPW Championship, Great-O-Khan and Tonga Loa tagging corners and then those indicators stay on, none of this restarting stuff just to drag it out.
And even then, I thought Punk was going to win this in a way that McIntyre could then say, “Well, it’s not like you pinned me or made me tap out.” Because guess what? McIntyre tapped out! The Sharpshooter made McIntyre tap before he passed out! I would’ve maybe skipped McIntyre tapping, have him try the ropes, and then pass out. But at least Punk also gets his bracelet back. McIntyre might still find some flimsy excuse because of his pride and his anger, and we go to a third match of these two, something even bigger like Last Man Standing or Hell in a Cell to make Bad Blood a big night.
Great Mixed Tag here, and of course we got the overbooking of Judgment Day running out there. And great win for the Terror Twins, this will definitely lead to Rhea VS Liv in a rematch for the title, maybe they escalate from a normal match since it’s a given Judgment Day will try and help Liv. Maybe just a standard No Disqualification for it to get just crazy enough. And then we got an awesome main event out of Gunther and Orton. I didn’t think they were going to go that long, but if any two guys could, it’s Gunther and Orton. Great stuff with the steps and the desks, the false finish off the RKO, and Gunther selling arm to compel him to use his left. Gunther using a sleeper to have Orton pass out is a great finish, Gunther is as dominant as ever, can’t wait to see who’s next.
My Score: 9/10

Andrew’s TNA Genesis Results & Match Ratings: 1.19.25
Does TNA Believe in Joe Hendry more than Mokuba Nemeth believes in his big brother?
Hot off the heels of the TNA and WWE working relationship announcement, the Kickoff show already has the first sprinkle of NXT talent with Ashante “Thee” Adonis coming out after Ariana Grace tries to take all of the credit for the partnership. Jake something runs over Ashante, but it’s a good quick nod on free YouTube. Oh it also looks like the ring announcer is McKenzie Mitchel again. I did like her first run in TNA in what was that… like 2016-2018 or 19? She’s got personality, she’s cute and a solid announcer, so nice to see her back.
I’m not gonna run down any predictions on who I think will win, because honestly, I just feel like Hendry needs to win today or it’s been an entire waste of momentum. So lets get to the main show!
Ratings:
- X Division Championship: Moose (c) vs Ace Austin: Moose retains via Lights Out – *** 1/4

X Division Championship: Moose (c) vs Ace Austin
As soon as the bell rings, Ace jumps on him, forces him into the corner and stomps on him. Moose tries to fight out but Ace stays relentless. Ace has a counter for everything Moose is trying to counter in the early goings. Even when Moose catches him during the apron Handstand Dodge, Ace still has a counter for his counter. It’s not until a rake to the eyes from Moose that finally gives him a moment to start dictating the pace. A huge Irish Whip on the outside through the barricade is what Ace feels…twice. Ace tries to fight back from Moose continuing the momentum, Ace eats a Pump Kick, but blocks Moose’s attempt at a Suplex and counters with his own Vertical Suplex on Moose! JDC gets in the proximity of Ace so Ace kicks him, which delays his springboard, so Moose catches him and bounces him off the apron like a super ball.
Moose lets the count go, Ace barely gets in at 9, Moose throws him corner to corner, is slowing things down and being very deliberate. Ace starts powering through the pain, catches a Pump Kick, dodges a Spear into the corner and puts together a few strikes, Double Stomp, Triangle Kick, wants The Fold but Moose puts the brakes on there. Ace tries to spring off the ropes but Moose grabs him and hits Go To Hell for two! Fighting Spirit spot, Ace starts winning the trade, a Headbutt from Moose stops Ace, Moose flips him over the ropes to the apron, tries a few more things, Ace looks for a Springboard, Moose catches him but Ace slips it for a Frankensteiner. Moose powders to the opposite apron and Ace hits his Inside Out Headscissors sending Moose crashing to the floor. Alisha and JDC try to help up Moose, and while the referee is distracted JDC posts Ace. Moose goes for the Around the World Lights Out, but Ace moves and Moose kills JDC! Ace hits The Fold on the floor!
Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers run down the ramp, Ace sees them so he hits the Fosbury Flop to take them out. Ace is rolling, he goes for the Triangle Kick but Moose counters with Lights Out! 1-2- KICK OUT? Moose sets up for another Lights Out, Ace sidesteps it for the Cradle, kickout, Uranage, Cradle counter, Art of Finesse from Ace but Lights Out to the Spine from Moose! Moose sets up another and lands the Lights Out to retain!
Post Match the System looks to beat down on Ace, but Maniac Marines music hits and they go after Myers and Edwards. Guess the match is now!Â
The System vs Maniac Marines
Steve and Eric beat the hell out of the System members while the referee tries to set the match, it still hasn’t started but we get stereo 10 count punches in the corner, big fists causing Myers and Edwards to powder. This is essentially a Tornado Tag right now because the match hasn’t even started. Okay it eventually starts and Maclin hits the Backbreaker on Edwards and Busaiku Knee on Myers. He looks for a SCUD but Lish grabs the foot which is just enough! Maclin tries to charge anyway but gets caught in the Blue Thunder Bomb and now the match slows down and Eddie is in control.
Maclin absorbs some Chops from Eddie in the corner, no sells a little and fires, Eddie tags out Myers tries to slow things down with a Russian Leg Sweep but Maclin continues to try and rally. Eddie’s back in, shortarm Gowan Lariat into a cocky cover for two. Eddie tries to keep moving but Maclin hits the Vertical Suplex. Maclin is too slow to tag out so Eddie tags out and Myers cuts off Maclin. After a few more quick tags from System members, Maclin finally lands a Lariat to get the simultaneous tag and EY comes in hot. EY does the Flair corner flip, knocks Eddie off the apron, Myers eats a Macho Elbow but only two. Eddie knocks Maclin off the apron, Tandem Tiger Driver for two, EY fights back to level Eddie, Tree of Woe Myers Caught in Crosshairs but Lish gets in the ring! Eddie grabs Eric and distracts the ref, Lish clocks Maclin with either knuckles or a full hand of rings, Spear from Myers is only a two!
System Overload attempt, it’s thwarted by EY, Myers gets crotched in like a Reverse Tree of Woe, so Maclin hits the Caught in the Crosshairs on the back, EY with a Plancha to the outside to take Edwards out and K.I.A. from Maclin means Maniac Marines win!
Knockouts Tag Titles: Elegance Clique (Heather & Ash) w/Personal Concierge vs Spitfire (Dani Luna & Jody Threat) (c)
Elegance duo comes out dressed like Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. They do a Go Eagles chant right before the bell rings to a chorus of Boos.
Even though Elegance Clique throws their pompoms and try a cheap shot, Spitfire just plow through them, literally. Quick tags, some assisted moves, Ash gets away from Spitfire, tags in Heather and shoves her forward trying to take them off guard, but they turn around…grab Heather and a long Tandem Stalling Suplex with a Deep Squat for two. Concierge distracts the referee, looks for a low Dive onto Heather but Ash just kicks Dani in the face, and the referee sees nothing. Heather rolls her back in, Kawada Kicks, Forearm Shiver, trip into a Dropkick to the face! Ash hangs Dani off the apron and Heather hits the Double Stomp from the apron to the floor.
Ash starts choking Dani on the ropes, distracts the referee and Heather paintbrushes Dani with pompoms as Ash goes for a series of pinfall attempts. Quick tags, Dani is in their corner, Cartwheel Back Handspring Elbow from Ash into a Seated Dropkick from Heather. Dani has been getting smacked around for the last 4 or 5 minutes. Ash leans on Dani for a while, but Dani gets a head of steam, comes off the ropes and Shotgun Dropkick gives her space. Jody gets a hot tag, she Sack of Shits them both, Vader Hammers in the corner into a Michinoku Driver, which Ash breaks up with a Meteora. Heather and Ash have a nice tandem move for a two count. Jody tries to fight back, but Elegance stops it, blind tag from Dani, Senton takes out both Elegance Clique members and Dani stalks her prey. Snap Suplex two times on Ash, but Heather stops the third and Jody just tosses Heather out of the ring in a rough way. Jody tries her Double Knees German Suplex spot but Ash moves. Dani with the Shinsuke Nakamura Inside Out German, Pressure Drop and Spitfire retains.
Boo…
Jordynne Grace vs Tessa Blanchard
Grace charges Tessa immediately, and the ref needs to pull her off, but Tessa gets thrown around the ring literally, the crowd is chanting “Fuck You Tessa”, Tessa powders, eats a Dive and then a Jackhammer on the outside! Grace puts Tessa on her shoulders up to the ring, but Tessa finally fights off and flips off the crowd, revels in it for a second, tries the Frankensteiner, but Grace holds on, smashes Tessa into the guardrail twice, looks for the Reverse Bomb on the apron, but Tessa gets out, stomps on Jordynne a few times, hooks Jordynne’s face with the crook of her leg and drives Jordynne’s face into the apron. Unique looking and decent.
Tessa has the correct intensity, pushes into two quick pinfall attempts and starts getting deliberate. Drags Jordynne’s face across the rope, throats Grace, kicks her in the face and Slingshot Elbow is another near fall. Tessa with the Front Facelock, Grace tries to fight out but Tessa holds on and drops her with a Scorpion Death Drop for another near fall. Jordynne fights Tessa off with a few elbows, looks for a Superplex, but Tessa fights off, wants the Avalanche Sunset Bomb, but Jordynne stops it, Tessa kicks Grace’s feet, looks for a Rope Hung Death Drop but Jordynne fights it off and smashes Tessa’s face into the turnbuckles but Tessa hits the Rope Hung Backstabber for two. Tessa looks for Magnum, but Jordynne cuts her off, they fight at the top, Avalanche Sack of Shit! They both sell the exhaustion of the match so far.
They trade blows, two Scoop Slams from Jordynne, Lawn Dart into the Top Turnbuckle! Package Powerbomb for two! Dragon Suplex attempt from Grace, Tessa breaks it, Headlock Takeover, quick counter wrestling, Tiger Destroyer from Tessa! Only for a two count, but still nice. Buzzsaw attempt is shrugged off, Tessa comes off the ropes and eats the Spinebuster from Jordynne for two quick pinfall attempts. Tessa with the Body Scissors and pulls herself up and fights back, Jordynne slaps her around, looks for the Suplex but Tessa slips it and Neckbreaker Counter for a two count! The brawl to the apron, Grace eats a forearm and Tessa hits the Tornillo on Jordynne! They posture on the steps, Tessa wants a move but Jordynne counters her and Spicolli Driver from the stairs to the floor from Jordynne!
More back and forth in the corner, just positioning and counters, it’s like watching chess. Jordynne grabs Tessa for an Avalanche Air Raid Crash, but Tessa fights it and turns it into an Avalanche Crucifix Bomb! After trying a grounded submission Tessa locks in the Octopus, tries to wrench the fingers but Jordynne counters, Rope Assisted German Suplex into a Capture Suplex for 2! Kudome Valentine attempt from Grace but Tessa gets out, Backfist from Jordynne, Tessa bounces off and Cutter gives her a two count! Tessa calls for Magnum, Jordynne dodges it, Tessa rolls through, tries boots but Grace grabs Tessa and hits the around the world Reverse Alabama Slam! Tessa keeps trying to remove Buckle Pads but they’re on good, Tessa reverses out of the Kinikku Buster, hits the Buzzsaw into the partially exposed buckle but Grace grabs the rope. Tessa removes another pad, Bulldog into exposed buckle, Magnum, and Tessa is still sexy.
The turnbuckle pads being on too well made the finish a little flat, but it was a damn good match. There’s also a joke in the match with Tessa coming out wearing Red and Gold (Yellow), so the racism allegations are never going away if she keeps making it easy.
I Quit Match: Josh Alexander vs Mike Santana
There’s intensity but its all just technical tactics to take each other to the ground and grab a limb. But since we just came off of a pretty good match, things can’t start too hot. Every time Santana throws Josh to the outside, Josh scurries back to the ring, he’s playing scared. There’s a “He’s a bitch” chant that pops up. Santana cuts off Josh’s charge with a few well placed boots which sends Josh outside, Tope con Hilo levels the bald man. Santana throws Josh into a guardrail, Yakuza Kicks back to back rock Josh a bit. Fans call for tables and Santana slides one out to a huge pop. Santana sets it up, plays to the crowd, tries a Powerbomb onto the table but Josh slips it and Overhead Belly to Belly sends Santana crashing. A fan can be heard saying “That look like it hurt” to which Santana replies ” It did asshole”. Now Josh is dissecting Santana’s legs to soften him up for the Ankle Lock. Josh goes for the corner spot with the Figure Four around the post after bouncing the knee off the post a few times.
Josh tries to continue but Santana slides out and counters Josh and bounces his face off the post. Josh walks it off a bit as Santana stalks him and then a quick Chop Block has Santana writhing in pain. Josh decides to be a heel and do the Three Amigos instead of the Kurt Angle Germans. Disrespectful bald jerk. Santana gets throated, dropped to the apron on his ass, Low Crossbody but Santana flattens out and Josh goes flying! Santana tries a Dive, but Josh catches him and just drops him spine first on the apron. After a small resilient flurry of slaps from Santana Josh goes for the Germans. Santana brushes off on the third, goes for the Rolling Buck Fifty, gets caught in the Torture Rack, Santana fights off Josh’s shoulders, kicks him into the corner, Senton into the seated Josh. Perches him up top, points at the table, tries something but Josh fights him off, Moonsault from Josh misses and a Death Valley Driver gives both a moment to breathe.
Santana Spin the-BLOCK-ED! Josh sweeps the leg, Ankle Lock and Santana refuses to quit twice but slips the boot ala Eddie Guerrero. Josh pauses a moment, Santana charges and Josh dumps him over the top rope through the table! Santana says he doesn’t quit, Josh looks surprised, so he goes looking for more plywood. He also grabs the bottom set of stairs and throws them into the ring. Scoop Slams Santana into the broken table and continues looking for weapons, like a chair and zip ties. Santana crawls into the ring, Josh steps on the worked on leg and smashes it repeatedly with the chair. Josh goes into Full Mount, rains down strikes, exposes the elbow for Elbow Strikes and tries to soften him up for the zip ties. C4 Spike but Santana raises up like the Undertaker and fires into beating the piss out of Josh. Frankensteiner on Josh into the Frog Splash, Spin the Block! Josh doesn’t quit. Santana grabs the zip ties that Josh introduced, ties the hands behind Josh’s back, Spin the Block 2! Josh doesn’t quit. Santana sets up the steps as a ramp, table in front of Josh in the corner and Cannonballs through the table into Josh! Josh still doesn’t quit off the Jackass stunt. Santana finds a sock filled with quarters and starts beating Josh like it’s a slapjack. Josh still doesn’t quit. Santana tells Josh to bite the curb and is about to Curb Stomp him into the steps and Josh gets scared and quits.
TNA Tag Team Championships: The Hardyz (c) vs The Rascalz
Fraxiom comes out to watch the match, so this nicely sets up a potential early angle between NXT and TNA for the crossover.Â
Trey and Matt start, but it’s a slow Headlock basic counters and feint spots. Jeff and Wentz want to play, so this is very Japanese in giving each member a free chance to interact before any cutoffs or tandems. The crowd likes both men, so this is interesting but more Stalemate spots. Jeff manages a Polish Hammer to tag in Matt and go for a quick tandem move and keep Wentz in the Hardy Corner bouncing his face off buckles in Delete fashion. Tag from Jeff for another tandem Rocket Launcher into the bottom rope and Leg Drop from Jeff. Wentz counters the Twist with a Jumping Knee so he manages a tag to Trey and then a few quick striking double team spots. Quick tag to Wentz, Matt comes in to break it up, drops Matt and Wishbone. Quick Tag, MCMG ACS Rush homage. Wentz Dives onto Matt on the outside, Matt catches him into the Side Effect on the floor! Jeff gets the best of Trey after he’s a little distracted. Manhattan Drop from Jeff, into a tag to Matt and then some double team strikes for a near fall. Delete Head Smashes again on Trey.
Vertical Suplex from Matt for another 2. Matt tags out and Hardys look for more Tandem attacks, Plot Twist but Wentz recovers and makes the break! Trey flips out of Jeff’s arms, tags in Wentz, and Wentz cleans house on both Hardys. Corner to corner, tags back in Trey they hit the Saki Kashima assisted Dropkick on each Hardy and then they dump the Hardys at the feet of Fraxiom. FIVE HOLE DIVE FROM RASCALZ! Misses the Hardys and hits Fraxiom! This builds heat for The Rascalz and Fraxiom as Hardys attack the Rascalz while distracted. Poetry in Motion off the stairs from Jeff!
Facebuster from Jeff for two! Wentz hits a Busaiku Knee on Jeff to stop him from hitting Trey, Side Effect drops Wentz, Enzuigiri from Trey drops Matt and all four are down to catch their breath a bit. Original Poetry in Motion on Trey! Twist of Fate from Matt but countered and Matt is thrown into Jeff who’s selling a knee. Superkick into Feed Em to the Lions! Wentz Dives on Matt but Trey can’t quite make a clean pinfall. Jeff eats a Cheeky Nandos and Top Rope Tiger Feint, Twist of Fates for everyone and Jeff re-NO Trey kicks out! Another Twist but eats a Superkick from Wentz, tries the UFO Cutter on Matt but Matt just throws him to the outside. A Twist of Fate from each Hardy Boy, Swanton Bomb and the Hardyz retain!
Thursday’s Live Show will have Fraxiom vs The Rascalz for the NXT Titles!Â
Raven’s Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match: TNA Knockouts World Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs Rosemary
Do Rosemary’s shorts have Pokemon Gym Badges on em? Masha goes for the Staple Gun, it almost gets countered immediately, but she gets the first few clicks of the Staple gun, it actually doesn’t backfire, but she lets Rosemary powder and starts grabbing a few weapons. Masha finally decides to attack Rosemary with a cane, but Rosemary turns things around with the green mist. Slamovich gets some of the mist out of her eyes, chases her into the ring and eats a Drop Toehold into a Chair. Rosemary sets up the table, panders to the crowd and Masha launches herself over the top with a Crossbody, into Rosemary and then through the table! Masha finds her old chain she used to make Killer Kelly submissive and starts choking and dragging Rosemary around the ring and then Sabus the chair at Rosemary for emphasis.
Masha tries to hit the front flip Senton onto a seated Rosemary, but Rosemary moves and Masha hits the chair weird. Rosemary beats her with a chair a few times, looks under the ring, gets giddy and finds Janice! Rosemary swings Janice, breaks it, and then uses the two pieces to block the cane Masha had and then pressed the nail portion into Masha’s back! Rosemary is talking to Janice and goes to the back to find tacks that she spills out on the stage. Rosemary wants a Chokeslam into tacks, Masha counters, misses a Lariat and then eats the Spear into the tacks! Barbed Wire board is set up in the ring, Spicolli…nope! Russian Death Device into the Barbed Wire! Masha goes to the top, Footstomp into the barbed wire but only for 2 again! Masha goes to the outside and grabs a ladder.
A trash can lid gets thrown at Rosemary for good measure, Masha ascends the ladder and then Rosemary pushes the ladder and Masha goes crashing through one of two tables set up on the outside. Rough spot, rough looking, but Masha manages to move enough to break the pinfall since its falls count anywhere. Rosemary now goes full Kevin Steen and makes some chair art for a spot, drags Masha into the ring, sets he on the chairs and goes to the top. Masha sits up as Rosemary climbs, counters the momentum and Avalanche Requiem through the chairs! Masha retains.
Cora Jade’s music hits and sets up nicely after Masha was on NXT.Â
The Countdown Panel starts off with their main event picks they hinted towards and it’s necessary because they have to clean up the ring. Mark Henry picks Joe Hendry, and he better be correct. Ryan Nemeth interrupts with the “my brootthhheerrr” stuff, and Santino calls him “Fuck Face Guy”. It’s all good stuff, and I’m still a big fan of the Mokuba gimmick, but now they ban Ryan Nemeth.Â
TNA World Championship: Nic Nemeth (c) vs Joe Hendry
Simple chain wrestling start until Nic has a few words and then snaps off a Dropkick, does his show off Dolph stuff so Hendry runs him over with a Shoulder Block and then a Knee Lift. Hendry tries his Stalling Suplex but Nic slips it into a Rear Naked Choke! Hendry spins Nic around, walks around with the Stalling Suplex before finally dropping Nic. Ryan Nemeth shows up with a ticket, so he’s sitting in the crowd now. Joe gets distracted just enough for Nic to jump up and hit a delayed DDT. After Nic tries to stretch Joe a little, Hendry goes into locomotion Cradles but Nic drops Joe to take a breather. Nic does his single Shot to the Heart Elbow and he’s really embracing the old Dolph Ziggler show off ego. Ziggler looks for a Rude Awakening after more arrogant moments, but Joe tries to fight it off, so Nic just snaps off a Jumping Neckbreaker.
Joe manages to hit a Cutter off the ropes to try and get some energy from the crowd. Strike exchange happens here, Uppercuts from Joe and Fists from Nic. Joe blocks one fist, throws a few of his own together and a Lariat levels Nic. Sack of Shit into the Kip Up! Counters galore from both men before Nic gets caught in the Pop-Up Powerbomb! Attitude Adjustment for just a near fall. You see moments of Nic trying to cheat or find an angle but he hasn’t done anything overtly heelish yet. Joe is rocking him with chops, perches Nic on the top, looks for the Superplex but Nic fights back, Hendry gets pushed off, Crossbody but Hendry rolls through, holds on and gets his Powerbomb countered into a FAMEasser for two! Nic crawls to a corner, looks to climb for something big, Hendry cuts him off, Avalanche Sack of Shit! Kaz walks out with the trophy as both men sell, but JBL comes out of the crowd and Clothesline from Hell on Kaz. JBL punches Ryan in the face as he comes out to say something. Then Tuxedo JBL leaves after doing his job. Standing Ovation from HENDRY! 1-2-NO! Nic kicks out!
The crowd chants “One More Time” and it fires up Hendry, he does the heel turn and goes full Queen Stomp, tries again, but Nic slips it. Superkick into Danger Zone and it’s….HENDRY KICKS OUT! Nic is tuning up the band, Hendry catches Nic, Sack of Shit, Kip Up, big fire, Standing Ovation! JOE HENDRY WINS!
Overall Score: 7/10
Even if the match quality wasn’t bonkers, mostly all the matches did what they needed to do, were fairly good and a good number of NXT talent showed up to make the Live iMPACT! and TNA really feel like something special right now. I’m an unabashed Tessa fan, so I’m giddy she won and Hendry finally getting the title is the latest they could’ve really dragged this out to, but at least it stops him from becoming Tetsuya Nai-Joe.
I’m not gonna be a hypocrite from previous complaints I made with too many champions being babyfaces, because that’s still bad and proves the next few title defenses could prove volatile. However, I of course just enjoy most of the current champions. So while it doesn’t erase the fact it’s bad, it makes it more palatable for me personally. Now if only PCO destroyed the Knockouts Tags instead of a different irrelevant belt.
Also let’s be very clear, anyone that believes the PCO stunt was a legit shoot doesn’t know wrestling. Everything is a work until it isn’t and then it still could be turned into a work. Don’t be gullible and just anticipate something to be worked out of it one way or the other.
Still though, good show with a lot of hype for the Live iMPACT, so Thursday should be fun! See you there!

Daniels storms up on Hangman, but Hangman sends him into the chair! Daniels falls back, the chair stuck around his head! Hangman snarls again while Daniels sputters. Daniels rolls out and ends up on the table, so Hangman runs to DOUBLE STOMP him down through the table!! The fans lose their minds, the standing count begins, and Hangman watches Daniels crawl. Daniels manages to rise at 7, but Hangman KICKS him back down! Hangman rains down fists on the bloody forehead!
Hangman goes looking, and he finds a table with barbed wire on it!! Hangman shoves that into the ring, careful not to poke himself too bad. Hangman sets this monstrosity up near a corner, and Daniels has made his way to the apron. Hangman climbs the corner to bring Daniels up. The fans are already worried, and Hangman Alabama Lifts Daniels! Daniels fights with everything he has left! Daniels HEADBUTTS away on Hangman, then fires down elbows! Daniels slips in, clinches, and URENAGE DOWN THROUGH THE BARBED WIRE TABLE!!! The fans lose their minds while both men are down!
The ref clears the wreckage while both men crawl to the corners. Daniels runs in to LARIAT from behind! GERMAN SUPLEX! S T O! Daniels roars and the fans fire up! Daniels drags Hangman up, clinches again, UREN- NO, Hangman arm-drags free! Hangman LARIATS Daniels up and out, onto the ramp! Hangman snarls, aims, and BUCKSHOT- NO, Daniels ducks that to mule kick! Daniels underhooks, but Hangman BACKDROPS Daniels back into the ring! Daniels snarls through the crimson mask, but Hangman has more barbed wire! Daniels storms up, and Hangman DIGS the wire into Daniels’ face!!
Daniels staggers away, Hangman wraps his arm again! BARBED WIRE BUCK- FLATLINER!! KOJI KLUTCH!! Hangman endures, the fans fire up, and Daniels squeezes as tight as he can! But Hangman DIGS the wire into Daniels’ face again!! Daniels lets go, sputters through the blood, and slowly rises. Hangman aims, lifts, but Daniels grabs ropes! Daniels holds on, but then lets go to underhook! ANGEL’S WINGS!! Both men are down so the count is on them both! Daniels is already up at 5, Hangman is up at 6! The fans fire up for another URENAGE! Daniels points to the corner and the fans fire up!
Daniels goes up, up, BEST MOONSAULT EVER!! But Daniels isn’t done, he grabs what’s left of the barbed wire table and pushes it onto Hangman! BEST MOONSAULT EVER onto the wood!! Daniels crushes Hangman under the wood, then shoves it aside! Fans hope these tow “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Hangman is still down at 5 of 10! And at 7! Hangman scrambles to his feet at 9!! Hangman is bloodied but he’s going nuts! He steps on the chair so Daniels can’t use it! Daniels ROCKS Hangman, Hangman LARIATS Daniels! Scoop and tuck! TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER onto the chair!!
Daniels crawls with one good arm, and he’s somehow still in this! Fans want that “ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!” Hangman waits on Daniels to stand, then reels him in! Alabama Lift, DEADEYE onto the chair!!! Daniels sputters but he’s staying down! Hangman goes to the apron and he loads up all the same. Daniels somehow rises up before 5 of 10, so a BUCKSHOT from behind takes him down!! The count starts again while Hangman stands over Daniels. The count is 5 of 10, then 7. 8! 9! 10!! Daniels is done, Hangman wins!
Winner: Hangman Page, by knockdown
The medics check Daniels, but Hangman leaves him behind. But then on second thought, Hangman drags Daniels up! Underhooks and ANGEL’S WINGS!! Hangman adds insult to injury by using Daniels’ own move!! Hangman storms off, leaving Daniels to the medics. Is this the end of the Fallen Angel? Is this only the beginning of Hangman’s violent road back to the world title?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
He welcomes us back to Maximum Carnage, and he welcomes out Toni Storm! Cincinnati fires up as The Rockstar is back again, and “Rookie” Toni joins Schiavone in the ring. Schiavone notes her historic win in the inaugural Women’s Casino Gauntlet, and with it, her shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship! It will be Grand Slam: Australia, Toni’s hometown of Brisbane, how does she feel? Toni says honestly, she doesn’t even know what her life is right now. It is so surreal! All she can say is, her dreams are finally coming true!
Because she’s going to Australia, to the building where she saw her first wrestling show, and she’ll never forget how her mom scraped together all she could so that they could get tickets, just to sit in the back row. Mom sold hot dogs to pay for Toni’s training. Mom sewed together Toni’s original ring gear. Now Toni can call mom and tell her, “Get ready, cuz I’m coming home!” The fans cheer that! Schiavone says that is a great feeling, but Toni surely realizes she is facing Mariah May, and that is an entirely different feeling. The fans boo Mariah, but Toni says Mariah is “the best in the business today. She’s killing it!”
But Toni hasn’t even had a chance to introduce herself to Mariah. Maybe next week, in Jacksonville, Daily’s Place, the home of AEW… It’s time for Toni and Mariah to finally meet face to face. The fans cheer, but Schiavone wants Toni to understand. C’mon now, Toni. Aw, c’mon yourself, Schiavone! It’s Tony and Toni! That means… IT’S TONI TIME~! WOO~! Say it with her! Okay. It’s TONI TIME! The fans cheer and Toni gets Tony to be all fired up! But the point Schiavone was trying to get to is valid: Is Toni really unaware of her timeless rivalry with The Glamour?
The Hurt Syndicate speaks.
It was after the show on Wednesday that MVP said a definitive statement was made. MVP promised Lashley & Shelton that when they came to AEW, the championship gold would be theirs for the taking. The All Mighty has never been a tag team champion while the Standard of Excellence has many times. That changes everything. With the defeat, the ASS KICKING, they just put on Private Party, that should make the Hurt Syndicate the #1 contenders. So Private Party, time to crash the party! Next week, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Private Party better put up the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Shelton & Lashley. See what you’ve really got!
But just remember: #WeHurtPeople. Lashley says this ish is gonna be easy. He and Shelton fist bump, but will they put the hurt on Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy?
Six Man Tag: The Undisputed Kingdom VS Shane Taylor Promotions!
Adam Cole, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly are reunited once more, ready for more, and they have all sorts of targets in mind. But Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo have their eyes on those same championship targets, which is why they’re crossing paths here tonight. Will #TAIGASTYLE & The Infantry show the Kingdom how to rumble, bad men, rumble? Or will Maximum Carnage be undisputed?
The trios sort out and the ROH Pure Champion starts against Adam Cole BAYBAY. They circle, tie up, and Lee already gets a leg pick. Lee then switches to a waistlock, Cole switches with him, repeat. Cole headlocks, Lee powers up and out, but Cole KICKS the backdrop! Cole then dodges the lariat, PELES, and he brings Lee over. Tag to Roddy, they mug Lee, and Roddy CHOPS! Roddy CHOPS again, then wrenches to a wristlock. Lee rolls, slips through, traps the arms, and he pulls on an ear! Tag to Dean, STP mug Roddy, and then Dean scoops, only for Roddy to slip free. Roddy shoves and DROPKICKS Dean down!
The fans fire up, Strong tags Kyle, and they CHOP and KICK away on The Captain! lee runs up, Kyle KICKS him down! Kyle & Roddy double suplex Dean onto Lee! Cover on Dean, TWO! Kyle drags Dean up but Dean JAWBREAKERS free! Tag to Carlie but Kyle kicks, clinches, and fires Muay Thai knee after knee! Kyle KICKS Carlie down, then stalks him to ropes. Kyle whips, Carlie reverses, and Dean trips Kyle up! The ref is arguing with Carlie, and now with The Kingdom, as Dean hits an APRON CUTTER! Carlie goes up and out to then GUILLOTINE AX HANDLE! Kyle flops down, STP pose together, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Kyle sputters, The Infantry distract the ref, and that lets Shane THROW Kyle into railing! Shane DECKS Kyle while The Kingdom protests! The ref keeps everyone back, and Dean brings Kyle around. Carlie puts Kyle in the ring, whips him to a corner, then storms up to JAB! JAB! JAB! Carlie pops, locks ‘n’ winds up, to CHOP! Carlie talks smack, tags Dean, then Dean sends Carlie in to SPLASH! Dena runs up, whips Carlie in again, forearm SMASH! Then Dean ELBOWS Kyle! Kyle staggers, into a LARIAT from Dean! The Captain scowls while he stands over Kyle. Dean then pushes Kyle to a cover, TWO!

Collision returns while both Kyle and Lee are down. The fans rally up, both men crawl, hot tags to Dean and Cole! the fans fire up as Cole dodges Dean, BLASTS Lee & Carlie, but Dean waistlocks! Cole elbows free, then LARITS Dean down! And ELBOWS him! And BOOTS him! Dean staggers, Cole fireman’s carries, USHIGOROSHI! Cover, TWO! Cole keeps his focus and he climbs a corner. Dean rises, for the PANAMA- NO, Dean slips under the sunrise! But Cole SUPERKICKS! Cole suplexes, LAST SHOT! Cover, TWO!! Well, not quite the last shot, so Cole tags ROddy. The fans fire up as Dean staggers up! Roddy & Kyle call their shot, TOTAL ANNIHILATION! Cover, Undisputed Kingdom wins!
Winners: The Undisputed Kingdom, by pinfall
STP put up quite the fight, but now Shane himself CLOBBERS Kyle! And he blocks a kick to KNEE Cole down! And he HEADBUTTS Roddy down! The fans boo but Big Bad Shaney T is that bad! He talks trash, even to Daddy Magic! Matt Menard says alright then! If Shane thinks he’s bad, then step to him! Or rather, step to DANIEL GARCIA! The TNT Champion makes his way out here, and he CLOBBERS Carlie! He CLOBBERS Dean! And he fires hands on Shane! Garcia throws off his jacket, storms in, and he fires more hands! Shane shoves Garcia away, but Kyle KICKS! Cole SUPERKICKS! Strong KNEE!
Daniel reels Shane in, SAIDO! The fans fire up as Garcia and the Undisputed Kingdom stand tall together! STP retreats, but then The Kingdom eyes that TNT Championship. Garcia holds it up, and he dares any which one of them wants it to come get it. Who will be the first from The Kingdom to challenge the Red Death?
AEW shares more footage from after Dynamite.
Alicia Atout was with Will Ospreay and asked him about the save he made for Kenny Omega against the Don Callis Family. What are his thoughts after all that? Ospreay says you can call it a save for Kenny but it was really Ospreay trying to get after Kyle Fletcher. But hey, he and Kenny have had their differences. Their battles in Japan and Canada have gone down as legendary. But they both know each other because of Don Callis. That is their link, that is how they’re tied together. Before, it was all about egos, but to be honest, this is bigger than both of them. Time they had a chat. Next week, Dynamite in Knoxville, Ospreay calls out Kenny to have that chat.
The Bruv wants to talk with The Best Bout Machine, will they come to an agreement when it comes to their common enemies?
Brian Cage & Lance Archer w/ Don Callis VS Top Flight w/ Leila Grey!
Speaking of Don Callis, his Murder Machines are back in action, ready to make #EverybodyDie! Will Cage & Archer be waiting on the other side of Private Party VS Hurt Syndicate for their tag title shot? Or can Dante & Darius Martin show that the bigger they are, the harder they fall?
The teams sort out and then the Murder Machines attack! The fans boo but the bell rings as Cage beats up Dante and Archer CLUBS Darius. Archer scoops Darius to SLAM him, then Cage waistlocks Dante. BOOT GERMAN SUPLEX COMBO! Dante flounders out of the ring while Cage RAMS Darius into the corner! And RAMS him in again! Then he CHOPS Darius, tags Archer, and they THROW Darius into the corner! Archer whips Cage in to UPPERCUT, then Cage feeds Darius to the scoop! BACKBREAKER! BASEMENT DROPKICK! Cage adds on and Archer says, “EVERYBODY DIES!” Dante is up but Archer DECKS him!

Top Flight are fast but they don’t hit hard enough to stop these tanks! Will nothing stop the Murder Machines from taking the tag titles for their own? Wait, Action Andretti makes his way out here? The Sight to See is rubbing salt in the wounds of his former friends, and Lio Rush attacks from behind! the fans boo as The Bad Child beats down Dante, TOSSES him out, then beats up on Darius! Leila wants them to stop, but Action just talks trash on Darius. The fans boo more but Lio goes up the corner. Action smiles as Lio gives Darius the FINAL HOUR!! Is this the final hour for Top Flight? Or will they make sure Lio & Action get what’s coming to them?
Backstage interview with The Learning Tree.
Lexy Nair is with Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” Morrissey, and she asks Jericho about how on Dynamite, he assured us all that The Learning Tree and The Death Riders would be on the same page, and that Jon Moxley can trust them. How is Jericho so sure that things will go well when The Death Riders didn’t even show for this interview? The Redwood says, “As the Learning Tree always says, ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder.'” Jericho says that’s so true. And Moxley isn’t the type to show up and do interviews. Jericho isn’t the type to stand here and allow someone to stir the pot.
So enough of this muckraking! Bryan Keith adds, “No mother effin’ muckraking!!” Lexy is a bit taken aback, but Jericho tells Moxley that he’ll address him directly. They’ve known each other a long time. They were the first two AEW World Champions! They have beaten the hell out of each other around the entire world! Moxley left this scar right on Jericho’s left eyebrow. See? And Jericho took a spike and tried to take Moxley’s eye. So like Jericho said, they’ve beaten each other all around the world, but tonight they have common enemies! Moxley knows there is no one in AEW as driven or as smart as Moxley as Jericho.
So if Moxley’s as smart as Jericho thinks, it would behoove Moxley to trust The Learning Tree. And if there’s any doubt, then The Learning Tree will prove it to you before you meet them in the ring. Lexy asks what he means, but Jericho counters with, “What does anything mean, Lexy?” Jericho storms off, Bill says that was a sick burn. Keith says it was a sick ass burn! The Learning Tree heads out, but seriously, what does Jericho mean? How’re they going to prove themselves to The Death Riders before their 12 Man Tag?
Backstage interview with Matt Menard & Daniel Garcia.
Collision returns as Lexy is now with Daddy Magic & The TNT Champion, and she notes them helping out The Undisputed Kingdom. Can they explain how and why? But before Garcia can, Roddy shouts at “DANIEEEL~!” The Kingdom thanks Garcia for that, they appreciate the help. And trust Cole when he says that if there’s anyone who understands competition, certainly it’s Garcia. It is a shame, though, that Garcia & Menard don’t have a third man, because Cole, Roddy & Kyle wanna prove they’re the best trio in AEW. Garcia says yeah, well, they’ll be in Jacksonville next week for Collision: Homecoming.
And Garcia remembers walking into Jacksonville three years ago with two people he barely even knew, at the bottom of the totem pole. Three years later, we’re going back to Jacksonville and it’s a completely different story. Menard checks with Garcia. Is he saying they’re call the brand new father? The new father? Then Kingdom is on! Homecoming, Jacksonville, Six Man Tag! Cole and the boys like that, and they head out. Will things still be undisputed? Or will Cool Hand Ange’s return to the ring tip the scales?
Max Caster is in the ring.
Platinum Max has both a mic and a leather bag, and he thanks the fans, missing how they’re booing him. But Caster says there has been a lot of issues going on within The Acclaimed. There are a lot of rumors online, a lot of talk, but he wants to clear the air right now with his teammate, Anthony Bowens. Caster asks Bowens to come to the ring, and he has the fans cheer Bowens on. Bowens does walk out here, and he grabs a mic for himself. Caster says this has gone on long enough. There has been a huge misunderstanding between the two of them. They are a great team, and more importantly, they are great friends.
The biggest issue here is that Bowens just won’t admit that Caster is the Best Wrestler Alive! The fans boo and Bowens stops Caster there. Bowens says it is finally time for Caster to listen! Because for the last five years, Bowens has tried with every fiber of his being to protect Caster in the ring, in the locker room, and in the media. Because they, The Acclaimed, were tag team partners, and then became best friends. But now Bowens has to live with the very uncomfortable truth that Caster has made Bowens into a liar! Because for those five years, Bowens has had to lie to every single fan about who Caster is as a person!
Because Cincinnati, you need to know that Max Caster is an arrogant, cocky, selfish, edge lord PIECE OF S*IT! And Caster wants the fans to believe he’s the Best Wrestler Alive? Newsflash: The fans believe YOU SUCK! The fans cheer, but Caster brings out a (fake) degree from his bag that says “Best Wrestler Alive!” Bowens says this is what he means! Cater is selfish, he lost the team spirit! Why did Caster start looking down on Bowens? Maybe it’s because Bowens is the Scissor King, not that Caster’s been doing that. Well guess what? Bowens is more than that! He possesses every tool necessary to be a world champion! Cincy agrees there!
Bowens has proudly represented AEW since he put pen to paper! He is the GADDAMN PRIDE of AEW! He is the Five Tool Player!! The fans cheer that! And Bowens doesn’t need some piece of paper to prove it. Caster says don’t touch him! Wait, the music hits? They’re both here, so that means it is DADDY ASS! Billy Gunn is back, mic in hand, and he sighs looking at his boys fighting. The fans cheer and Billy says first off, what is wrong with these two? They are The Acclaimed! AEW World Tag Team Champions, AEW World Trios Champions, and they got everyone to scissor just because it was cool!
Caster claims Billy doesn’t care about them! He just attached himself to a couple of young, hungry wrestlers like them just so they could hear the fans chant his name again. Billy made it about Billy, when it should be about MAX! The Best Wrestler Alive! Oh, and Anthony! They are best friends! Seriously! Okay? They are two guys who were randomly put together, didn’t know each other, but they became the winningest tag team in AEW history! Every team Billy has been a part of has broken up, and there’s a reason for that. Yeah, even Gunn Club! Billy’s own two sons did not want anything to do with him!
Billy gets pissed and he gets in Caster’s face. The fans tell Billy, “KICK HIS ASS! KICK HIS ASS!” Caster says he is not doing this. Bowens has to choose: Caster or Billy. If Bowens wants The Acclaimed to continue, it is either Caster or “washed-up” Billy Gunn. The fans cheer for “BILLY! BILLY!” Bowens is conflicted, but Caster stands there with open arms. Bowens offers the scissors, so Caster says okay. But then Bowens makes it a middle finger! The fans cheer as Bowens stands with Billy! So is that how it is? Caster says fine! Another bad decision from “Bad Decision Bowens.” You can’t walk away from Caster, he’s walking away from them!
Acclaimed is done because CASTER said so as leader of the team! It is Bowens’ fault, it is Billy’s fault, and it’s the fault of every fan here! Caster will prove to everyone that he IS the Best Wrestler Alive, and without him, Bowens sucks, Billy sucks, and all the fans suck! The fans chant “YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!” Bowens tells Caster that he didn’t need Caster then, and he doesn’t need Caster now! Get outta his life! Billy, Cincy, one last time! Throw the scissors up! The fans cheer as Bowens & Billy SCISSOR~! Caster is frustrated, but will he just have to put up or shut up?
Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana.
Lexy is with The Realest and says the past few weeks, he and Ricochet have had this cat ‘n’ mouse game. But it was announced that February 5th, Dynamite in Atlanta, we will get Swerve VS Ricochet. But until then, what is Swerve’s strategy? Swerve says respectfully, the longer they waste time talking, the more time Ricochet has to get away. And as for “cat ‘n’ mouse,” this is more like lion and rat. It will end now. February 5th, Swerve gets Ricochet in the ring to himself, but Swerve plans on seeing him way before then. Swerve has been cursed with the ability where everything he touches dies…
With that said, Swerve plans on using that for when he gets his hands on Ricochet’s throat! The Most Dangerous Man is only going to be more dangerous from now on, will Ricochet have no chance of escape?
AEW Continental Championship: Kazuchika Okada VS Tomohiro Ishii!
As Okada said himself to open the show, these two used to be the best of friends in NJPW under the banner of Chaos. But being part of The Elite (The, The Elite) has brought out the worst in one of the best wrestlers today. Will he continue to make it rain even here in Cincinnati? Or will the Stone Pitbull soon sink his teeth into some gold?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and Maximum Carnage gets some Strong Style thrown in!
The bell rings and the fans fire up as these two stare down. They circle, but then Okada backs off to the ropes. The fans boo but the ref has Ishii back up. Okada and Ishii reset, the fans cheer on “Both These Guys!” Okada again uses ropes for defense, and Ishii dares him to bring it! Okada runs up, they tie up, and Okada puts Ishii on ropes. Okada lets off, fakes the chop, then pats Ishii on the shoulder. But then Ishii CHOPS! Ishii fires forearms, Okada wobbles, but then Okada CLAWS the eyes! Okada runs, but Ishii CLOBBERS him! Ishii brings Okada up, CHOPS him, then eggs Okada on. Ishii whips, Okada grabs ropes, and Okada bails out!

Okada sputters, Ishii drags him up, and Ishii CHOPS! Okada sputters, Ishii CHOPS again, and then Ishii CHOPS again! Okada bumps Ishii off buckles, wrenches and whips, then he runs in to ELBOW Ishii down! Okada soaks up the cheers and jeers while the ref checks Ishii. Ishii is still in this so Okada storms up. The ref has Okada back off and the medic checks Ishii. A leg may have been tweaked after that last fall, but Okada storms up again. Ishii CHOPS him!

Okada grins, having cheated his former friend out of this one! Will nothing stop the reign when Okada’s willing to drag his own reputation through the mud?

The Natural is still the DUAL ROH World Tag Team & ROH World Six Man Champion, and he is looking to prove this is his best run yet! Will that continue through Maximum Carnage? Or will Priest read Dustin his last rites?

Winners: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, The Outrunners & Rated FTR, by pinfall
The Learning Tree tried to earn the Death Riders’ trust, but they only angered The Powerhouse! Will The Book of Hobbs still find his way back to a championship story in the New Year? And what of Rated FTR? Are they still brawling with The Death Riders somewhere in Cincinnati? Will they be brawling all the way to Knoxville this Wednesday?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here, but with some obvious new examples of Tony Khan forgetting his own stories. The Undisputed Kingdom VS Shane Taylor Promotions was a great Six Man Tag, and a great win for Cole, Roddy & Kyle now that they’re all back together, but I guess The Conglomeration meant nothing to anyone in the end. Secondly, Daniel Garcia making the save is fine and all, but why’re we pivoting away from how Garcia is friends with Private Party and should be helping them with The Hurt Syndicate? Not to mention, Shelton and Garcia still have beef from the C2 to settle, aka a TNT Championship match. Hurt Syndicate had a good promo, and it’s really hard to think Private Party retains the tag titles.
Back to Garcia, IÂ do appreciate we’re getting back to him teaming with Menard & Parker, and we’ll have a fun Six Man Tag for Homecoming, but I feel like Undisputed Kingdom wins again. We’ll probably get the Kingdom member who scores the fall challenging for the TNT Championship, so maybe like Kyle VS Garcia, but even that should be a one-off. If The Kingdom wants to be the “best trio” in AEW, that means they want the trios titles, and that means running afoul of The Death Riders, who already have Rated FTR after them. I suppose the easiest solution is just for Claudio, Yuta & Pac to defend against both teams in some kind of wild Trios match, but it’s hard to say if TK can sort out a mess like that.
There’s also the ROH World Six Man titles, but it doesn’t seem like The Von Erichs ever leave Texas. And All In: Texas is the big attraction for the Summer, so I can’t imagine “The Sons of Texas” losing in Texas… Well, that’s a problem to be solved later, we still got a good match from Dustin Rhodes tonight, but then that was about it. I was expecting someone from the ROH side to call him out for the tag titles, but nope. Gates of Agony had a very good promo to put a challenge of their own out there, and I suppose since they want the best possible, TK wasn’t going to short change them. Brody & Buddy having a match for Homecoming could help them introduce their new team name that is no longer House of Black related, given Malakai Black seems on his way out for real this time.
Speaking of, Julia had a very good match with Harley and got a very good win out of it. Julia still seems to be working the rust off but she can definitely find her way back to a title. If it’s Mercedes Mone still as TBS Champion, Julia isn’t winning. And even then, whoever beats Mone isn’t losing to Julia… Toni Storm had a good promo with Schiavone, especially the subtle way she stopped Schiavone from bringing up her past with Mariah. Whether this is a delusion or a deception, that will surely come to a head next week when Toni and Mariah meet face to face. I am really going to enjoy the moment Toni finally says, “How DARE you!” again.
Very good tag match of Murder Machines VS Top Flight, but of course Archer & Cage were going to win. They need their own momentum, for starters, and also they’re just massive. Depending on how the tag title match goes, I could see the Murder Machines going after Private Party, or even stepping to the Hurt Syndicate to make that the next phase of the Don Callis Family story. Ospreay had a good promo to bring up that feud, and I would think Ospreay’s chat with Omega next week is to make an alliance so that they can take on The Don Callis Family. Then as I said on Wednesday, we can get Ospreay & Omega VS Murder Machines first, then Ospreay & Omega VS Kyle & Konosuke after that.
Hangman VS Daniels was an awesome Texas Death Match, just a little bit short of the matches Hangman has had with Swerve. But even so, Daniels looked awesome, even with how he was bleeding and beat up. Hangman wins, of course, and he could go after just about anyone after this. And if this is Daniels’ sendoff as an in-ring competitor, what a way to go out, #ThankYouCD. Speaking of Swerve, he’s of course going to be hunting Ricochet, and the three weeks until Dynamite Atlanta will be some interesting ones. But I feel like they could’ve instead kayfabed that each week is meant to have Ricochet VS Swerve, Ricochet keeps ducking Swerve, and then TK takes an onscreen role to say enough is enough, Ricochet HAS to face Swerve in Atlanta, last warning.
Okada VS Ishii was a great match, and Okada sure hit all his usuals. Okada cheating to get the win is fitting of this Heel persona, but it’s hard to say where he’s going after this. Part of me wonders if Hobbs can step to him given how strong he’s getting to look lately. Good promo from Hobbs & Rated FTRunners, and I do commend Learning Tree for attacking after as a way of trying to win over The Death Riders. It didn’t work out, obviously, as Hobbs gets to look even stronger. Rated FTR and Death Riders brawling out of the building to take themselves out of the equation was smart, too, keeps them from being part of the math once Hobbs “heroically” goes out there and wins it for the Faces. Hobbs VS Okada would be an awesome match, and the promos oughta be fun, too.
My Score: 8.8/10
