SmackDown presents a brand new Grayson Waller Effect!

“The Audacious” Austin Theory and the Aussie Icon are already in the ring and fans boo. Waller welcomes us to his show, and says he is excited. But no time to waste, because their guest loves to make things about himself. He is the WWE Champion, The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes! Washington DC cheers now, and they sing along with the song, “WHOA~ OH~!” and the pyro goes off. But then Waller has Cody stop from getting on the corner, and says we already got the pyro and the “cringe” sing-along, time for the interview. The fans boo again but Cody steps inside. The fans cheer on Cody as he grabs a mic.

“So…” Waller cuts him off by saying, “Washington DC, whaddya wanna talk about?” Waller says “We get it. Everything’s about Cody Rhodes. Even on my own show, it’s gotta be about you. Because everything int he WWE’s about Cody Rhodes, right?” Cody doesn’t have to answer, Waller knows that this is Cody! The fans cheer Cody on, and Waller says Cody is the hero of the story. Only because these idiots don’t know the real Cody! But Waller does. He knows how selfish Cody is, and how all he cares about is the title. How many times have Cody’s “friends” gotten beaten up because of Cody while Cody gets all the glory? What kind of friend is that?

Cody asks if Waller is done. He’s a bad friend, huh? Then let’s talk about his friends. Kevin Owens, Cody’s opponent at Bash In Berlin. Waller must think Cody giving Kevin the title shot is charity. But in reality, if Cody were to put the list of SmackDown superstars up on the wall, and asked if Kevin could beat each and every one of them, the truth is, Kevin could and probably already has. Kevin was fighting The Bloodline long before Cody came back. Kevin’s been beaten up, but he has not stopped fighting! The fans cheer that! Cody says in fact, Cody would not be sitting here WWE Championship if not for Kevin Owens.

But never once has Cody “used” Kevin. Can Waller say the same? Because this “relationship,” is this friendship? Or is Waller just using Theory? The fans go, “Oooh~!” Cody asks if Magic Mike understands. This guy here is trying to convince everyone that he’s going to show the real Cody Rhodes, when in actuality, Waller is the one being a user, and he is using Theory. Everyone else is just waiting for Theory to do something about it. DC cheers, but Waller says Cody is not turning the tables! This is Waller’s best mate! His tag partner! They won the tag team championships at WrestleMania together! They’d never turn on each other.

But Waller knows someone who would do that. In fact, everyone needs a reminder of what Kevin is capable of. Waller prepared a little something just for Cody. It is a highlight reel of Kevin Owens’ past TEN YEARS, from Sami Zayn, to John Cena, to Chris Jericho, o Kofi Kingston & The New Day, to Sami Zayn again. Waller then says, “Wow…! That doesn’t look like a good friend to me.” But here comes Kevin! The fans cheer for “KO! KO!” and Kevin has a mic to say, “Alright. I can’t stand back there any longer, cuz we get the point. You guys are trying to convince Cody that I’m gonna turn on him, stab him in the back viciously, try to end his career, all that stuff.”

Kevin tells Cody that everyone in that video kinda had it coming at the time. Except Kofi, that was all on Kevin, he apologizes. But everyone else…! Plus, he and Cody have always been close, always been cool. And as far as ATDU, Kevin and Cody will beat them up, someone in the back will make a tag match out of it, so let’s just skip ahead to that. Nick Aldis, please come out here so we can get to the point. Aldis walks out, Kevin says he looks great, Kevin wishes he could pull off a suit like that. But can Aldis just make the match already? The fans cheer, they wanna see it, too! Aldis says yes, it is a done deal! Tonight’s main event will be Kevin & Cody VS ATDU!

Kevin appreciates that! So now we gotta end the segment, but does he have time to punch people? This all usually goes in reverse. Aldis says just make it quick. Thank you! Kevin and Cody rush ATDU and the brawl is on! The fans fire up as Kevin and Cody then get ATDU in place! But Waller shoves Kevin into Cody! The fans boo as ATDU run away! Cody understands what happened, and Kevin CHUCKS the comfy chair! But will Kevin and Cody humble Waller & Theory once and for all?

WWE United States Championship: LA Knight VS Santos Escobar w/ Legado Del Fantasma!

The Mega Star is almost amused at how often The Emperor of Lucha keeps coming back for a fight. And this time, it’ll be with gold on the line! Will Knight finally shut Santos down and send him packing? Or will this title soon belong to ES-CO-BAR, SI?!

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if DC belongs to LA!

Angel & Berto drag Knight out! The fans boo but Knight fights them! That’s still 2v1! Angel & Berto THRWO Knight into barriers, then stomp away! The fans boo but Santos shrugs, as if he wasn’t behind this. Now Angle & Berto RAM Knight into steel steps! They finally put Knight back in, but the ref EJECTS them! The fans cheer that, and now Lopez gets attitude! The ref says fine, Lopez is GONE, too! The fans cheer as now Santos’ chess pieces are all gone! But the damage is done, can Knight still fight? Knight says YEAH, and the bell rings! Santos runs up but Knight dodges the splash! Knight rolls Santos up, TWO!

Santos runs up again, V-TRIGGER! Then he POSTS Knight! Knight sputters, Santos brings him around, and he underhooks! The fans fire up for Knight, but Santos still hits a SHOULDER BUSTER! Cover, TWO!! Knight survives and Santos is beside himself, but SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns and Santos fires hands on Knight! Santos whips, but Knight turns him for a NECKBREAKER! Santos bails out, Knight goes out to SMACK him off the desk again and again! “YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!” Knight stops to then wind up and SMACK Santos off the desk again! Santos slumps down, and Knight clears the desk! The ring count is 5 of 10, Santos rolls inside, but Knight drags him out! Knight sends Santos to the desk, Santos wants mercy, and the ref reprimands. Knight storms up but Santos drop toeholds him into the desk! Santos then GAMANGIRIS Knight, goes up onto the barriers, and then leapfrogs the Hydration Station to METEORA onto the desk!

The fans boo but Santos brings Knight into the ring. The fans chant “YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK!” but Santos just grins. Santos goes up a corner, takes aim, and FROG SPLASHES! Cover, TWO!! Knight survives again and the fans fire up! Santos stalks Knight to ropes, kicks him and stomps him, but lets off as the ref counts. The fans boo more but Santos stalks Knight. Santos talks smack then he CHOPS Knight! Santos CHOKES Knight on ropes, the ref counts, and Santos lets off. Santos goes corner to corner, but Knight ELBOWS him! Knight whips, Santos THROWS Knight by his hair! Then Santos runs, but Knight avoids the elbow drop!

Both men stand, Knight runs up, but into a BOOT! Knight staggers, Santos runs, into an atomic drop! And DISCUS LARIAT! The fans fire up while both men are down! Knight goes to the ropes, the fans rally as hard as they can, and Santos runs in again! Into another LARIAT! Knight hauls Santos up, whips him to a corner, but Santos stops himself! Knight gets him with a JUMPING NECKBREAKER! The fans fire up and Knight stomps Santos in the corner. The ref counts, but the fans say “YEAH! YEAH!” Knight goes corner to corner, but Santos kicks! Knight blocks to SIDE EFFECT! Cover, TWO!!

Santos survives but the fans still rally for Knight. Knight waits on Santos, then reels him in, but Santos spins free to CHOP! Santos fireman’s carries, but Knight slips free! So Santos CALF KICKS Knight to a corner! Santos then hauls Knight up top, and GAMANGIRIS! Knight wobbles, Santos climbs, and the fans rally up. Knight fires body shots, then he SHOVES Santos down! The fans fire up as Knight stands, and he spells it out, “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!” Knight jumps up for the MACHO ELBOW! Santos stagger sup, into the B F T!! Cover, Knight wins!

Winner: LA Knight, by pinfall (still WWE United States Champion)

Was that an awesome match? YEAH! But did Santos learn from his past defeats? NAH-NAH! Knight is still on top, who will be next to step to the Mega Star?

Carmelo Hayes speaks.

“Andrade, you would be the type to sneak me. What you mad for? Because you lost? Truth is, you only as good as your last match, and last match, you just wasn’t as good as me, and you never will be. If anything, you should be thanking me, because you beating me two-to-nothing is the only thing keeping the lights on in your career.” But then Andrade storms in! El Idolo wants after H1M, but everyone else in the barbershop keeps him back. Andrade says that last week, Melo did win. But what Melo did after the match, that was disrespectful. Melo says, so what? Andrade says next week, they go 1v1 one more time.

Andrade storms off and Melo says they need to lock the doors in here next time. And someone get him a Prime! Will Melo be able to tie up the series 2-2? Or will Andrade just make it an even more one-sided 3-1?

Legado Del Fantasma argues backstage.

Lopez tells Angel that yes, that was the plan, but it was at the wrong time! And look what happened! Santos storms in and Angel is apologetic, but Santos shouts “NO! NO! NO!!” Nothing Angel says now makes up for what happened! Angel is no good to him if he’s not out there! But then Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews come in, sarcastically clapping. A lot of help those guys were out there. What’s the tagline again? ES-CO-BAR lost? Santos asks what they are, the presidents of his fan club? He won’t tolerate this disrespect. Is he mad? That’s an understatement! He’s going to talk with Aldis, and he’s going to have this all sorted out next week.

Santos leads Legado away and Corbin sarcastically wishes bueno suerte. Apollo asks what that means, and Corbin says it’s, “Good luck.” Crews agrees then, good luck. But will Legado redeem themselves? Or will #ACBC leave them wanting more?

Six Woman Tag: Naomi, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair VS Blair Davenport, Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn!

Nick Aldis broke the news earlier today that for Bash In Berlin, The StrongEST Duo gets their tag title rematch against The Unholy Union in a 2v2 showdown! That means this battle of #TheBig3 against these three wicked witches is all about momentum! Who gets rolling towards next Saturday with a big win?

SmackDown returns and The Big 3 make their entrances: first, Jade Cargill bringing the storm; second, Naomi bringing the glow; and third, Bianca Belair bringing the EST! The teams sort out, and Isla starts against Bianca. They tie up, and Isla CLUBS away on Bianca! Isla CLUBS Bianca down, mocks everyone, and pie faces her around. Isla runs, but Bianca hits a SPINEBUSTER! Bianca runs to handspring and MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Isla scrambles away but Bianca is after her in a corner. Bianca whips,. Isla reverses but Bianca goes up to say kiss this! Isla runs up, Bianca flips up and over!

Isla hits buckles, staggers, and Bianca DROPKCIKS her! Isla bails out, Bianca kips up, and the fans fire up for the PLANCHA! Down goes Isla and Bianca is all fired up! DC fires up with her, but SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns and Blair has Bianca down with a chinlock. The fans rally, Bianca fights up and Bianca CLUBS Blair. Blair CLUBS back, whips Bianca to a corner, then runs up. Feed to the TARANTULA, and a SUPERKICK! Tag back to Blair and she goes up, to DOUBL E STOMP Bianca on the back! The fans boo but Blair covers, TWO! Bianca toughs it out as the toughEST, but Blair tags Isla. Blair CHOKES Bianca on ropes while Isla taunts Jade!

The ref has to keep Jade back, and that lets Alba get a cheap shot in! Isla runs in to DOUBLE KNEE Bianca in the back! Then Isla CHOKES Bianca, but lets off as the ref counts. Winners: Naomi, Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair, by pinfall

Blair just felt The Glow, and now Alba & Isla have just eight days to prepare! Will they be ready for the storm that’s coming to Berlin? Or can they whip up something wicked to stop these forces of nature?

Natalya narrates The Road to Berlin.

“On Saturday, August 31st, for the first time ever, WWE is in Germany for a Premium Live Event. The journey to Bash In Berlin started over a quarter century ago.” WWE was on the rise overseas, and Bret Hart was a major part of it. He loved the amazing fans in Germany, that they were the very best in the world! And that led to March 3rd, 1997, Monday Night Raw in Berlin. It was the first-ever Raw broadcast outside of North America. And again, The Hart Family was key as Natty’s uncles, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith, battled to become the inaugural WWE European Champion. An instant classic crowned The British Bulldog that night.

That night was filled with stars and special moments. Mick Foley even cut a promo in German! “But that was only a taste of what was to come.” WWE announced it last year in October that they would return for a PLE. It is Natty’s honor to salute the German fans, their love of the WWE, and how it is making history once again.

WWE Tag Team Championships: The Bloodline VS The Street Profits w/ B-Fab!

Solo Sikoa leads the way for his champions, Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa also back to support them. They kept the precious ula fala away from Roman Reigns, will they now keep these precious belts away from The Profits? Or will Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins end the drought and make it reign in DC?

Before the match, however, Solo has the mic. “Washington, DC. ACKNOWLEDGE ME!” The fans boo instead, but Solo says “Your Tribal Chief has a lot to talk about tonight, so bear with me. Try to keep it down.” The fans just boo louder! Solo says item number one, The OTC is D-O-N-E! The fans still chant for “O T C! O T C!” Solo says item number two, whether it is Cody or Kevin who wins in Berlin, Solo’s got next! He brings the Undisputed Championship back to his family, and he finally brings it home to himself. The fans chant “We Want Roman!” Solo says chant all you want, Roman’s not here!

Solo then says that item number three, since he will be the next Undisputed Champion, there is something “wrong” with the tag team titles. Oh? Solo tells Jacob Fatu to step up. Fatu does as told, and the fans continue to chant for Roman. Solo gets annoyed, but he tells Jacob to hand over the belt. The fans boo, but Jacob does as told. Solo then says, hand it to Tonga Loa. Jacob still does as told, and Loa holds the belt. The fans chant, “YOU CAN’T WRESTLE!” and it’s hard to know if they mean Jacob and his bad foot or Loa in general. Solo tells Fatu that he cannot be a tag team champion if he is also to be Solo’s Enforcer.

Solo and Jacob hug it out, and Jacob says he loves his Tribal Chief. But wait! Here come The Profits! B-Fab tells Solo that they don’t care who the bodyguard is or who are the champs, because we’ve got business. They can get back to Family Matters later. Montez says hold on, Solo ain’t Urkel, and you can’t talk about Bloodline Version 8675309 like that. They’re happy, because they just got a promotion! Dawkins says, “Aww…!” But sorry, this is demotion season, as they’re gonna be former tag team champs! Because The Street Profits are up, and #WeWantTheSmoke!

DC is fired up for that! But will The Profits be ready now that they’re facing The Guerrillas of Destiny? We find out, after the break.

Backstage interview with LA Knight.

Byron Saxton starts to congratulate The Mega Star, and Knight says he knows, and with no disrespect, Byron’s already talking a little too much. Knight says LEMME TALK TO YA! Knight is in his home, because he spent his first 20 years just up the road. The last 12 were in LA, so this bicoastal champion just successfully defended his US Championship, right here in DC! And what that means is he’ll go across the ocean, go to Berlin, and successfully defend it there, too! Anybody out there that has the tingle in their loins, show up in Berlin, come on down, because at the end of the day, it’s the same song all around the world, #AndStill, with everybody saying, “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!!” Goodnight, everybody!

The Mega Star just put out a mega open challenge, who will surprise us all by answering the call?

The fans boo but Loa stalks Dawkins. Tag to Tama, the Guerrillas double whip to body shot, UPPERCUT, and NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Tama keeps his eyes on Ford, then goes after Dawkins with body shots. Tama whips corner to corner, runs up, but Dawkins dodges the splash!

Dawkins FLAPJACKS Tama, tags in Ford, and they whip Tama now to drop and CLOBBER Tama! Cover, TWO! Ford hits a BIG back suplex! Then a STANDING MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Loa avoids the shot, Tama SPLASHES in the corner! Tama fires hands, ROCKS Ford, then tags Loa. The Guerrillas get Ford up for a BACK SUPLEX NECKBREAKER COMBO! Loa covers, TWO! Loa ROCKS Ford, stalks him to a corner, then HEADBUTTS away!

Loa brings Ford around, taunts Dawkins, then back suplexes, but Ford lands out to ENZIGIRI! Tag to Dawkins, the Profits double whip to DOUBLE SHOULDER! Then BACK SUPLEX SPLASH! Tama runs up, into a DOUBLE FLAPJACK! The Guerrillas stand, Dawkins gives Loa a SKY HIGH! Tag to Ford and he goes up! FROM THE HEAVENS!! Cover, Tama breaks it! The Right Hand Man saves it, but Dawkins TOSSES him! Loa goes to a corner, Ford runs up, but Loa TOSSES him up and out! ford hits steps on the way down, Tama tags in! Tama brings Ford up, in, and TONGAN TWIST to the floor!

The fans boo as Tama stands over Ford, and Solo applauds. Solo says, “That’s how you do it,” and SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns again and Loa has Ford in a chinlock. Ford fights up, pries the hold open, but Loa HEADBUTTS Ford in the back! Loa CLUBS Ford, then whips him to the corner. Ford ELBOWS Tama! And ROCKS Loa! And ELBOWS Tama again! Loa catches Ford, shoves him back, then pops him up, but Ford SATELLITE DDTS! The fans fire up while both men are down! Ford and Loa crawl, hot tags to Tama and Dawkins! Dawkins rallies on Tama and the fans fire up again! Dawkins whips, Tama reveres, but Dawkins hurdles to then UPPERCUT Tama down! Dawkins DECKS Loa for good measure!

Dawkins runs to CYCLONE SPLASH and ENZIGIRI Tama! Cover, TWO! Solo is stressed as Dawkins brings Tama up. Tama ELBOWS Dawkins, but Dawkins wrenches to underhook, SILENCER! Dawkins builds speed to run up and POUNCE Tama into Loa! Solo stands in Dawkins’ way, but Ford FLIES out onto The Guerrillas! The fans are thunderous as they put Tama in, but Solo distracts the ref! Jacob SUPERKICKS Dawkins! And SUPERKICKS Ford!

The fans boo but the Samoan Werewolf feeds Dawkins to The Guerrillas, Tama hits a COMPLETE SHOT! Cover, Bloodline wins!

Winners: The Guerrillas of Destiny, by pinfall (still WWE Tag Team Champions)

Jacob shoves Loa into the ring so that they can all stand together and celebrate this victory. The fans boo, because that celebration is the mugging of The Profits! But here comes DIY! Ciampa & Gargano meet Tama & Loa at the ramp for a brawl! Then they rush in, DUMP Jacob out, and they BOOT Solo! And SUPERKICK Solo! Ciampa KNEES Jacob back out, and then DIY BOOT-SUPERKICK COMBO! The fans are thunderous as they aim at Solo, but Jacob grabs Gargano! Solo CLOBBERS Ciampa! Then he CLOBBERS Gargano! The fans boo, but Solo feeds Ciampa to the POP-UP SAMOAN DROP! Then Jacob HIP ATTACKS Gargano!

Jacob is still doing all this with a bad foot, but now Solo takes off his gloves! SAMOAN SPIKE for Gargano!! SAMOAN SPIKE for Ciampa!! DIY failed to take the fight to The Bloodline, just as The Profits failed to take the titles, and as Jacob adorns Solo, the same can be said about Roman Reigns failing to take back the ula fala. Will this be the way of things for Solo’s Bloodline then, now and forever?

Kevin and Cody meet up backstage.

They fist bump, and Kevin asks if Cody is ready. Cody’s ready. They have this, they’ve beaten these guys before. Kevin agrees, tonight is just about shutting them up. Kevin would say, “for good,” but he admits, ATDU is tough, they’ll just be back at it next week. But uh, Cody gets what Kevin meant with the video earlier, right? Everyone except for Kofi had it coming. And even then, Kevin isn’t that guy anymore. Cody believes that, right? Cody says yes, he does. Okay. Because Kevin just wants Cody to know this tag match isn’t to set Cody up for anything. Cody says all he can do is take Kevin at his word and be ready for what happens next.

Cody pats Kevin on the back, then heads out. But is there a chance even Kevin doesn’t know what he’ll do this close to the title match? Or can he keep from slipping back into his old ways?

Backstage interview with B-Fab.

Byron Saxton catches her as she exits the trainer’s room, where both The Profits and DIY are being checked out after the Bloodline’s brutality. B-Fab says this is all precautionary, but then Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell hurry over. They want to check on DIY, and B-Fab says everyone is fine, just pissed. Will Ford, Dawkins, Ciampa & Gargano all decide that they should go after their common enemies together?

Mia Yim speaks.

“‘You’re too ugly to make it. You’re too fat. You don’t have ‘the look.’ You’re not the It Girl. Be nice, be patient, be less ambitious.’ Everybody has tried to limit me, and they all failed. Nia, you think you’re gonna be the one to limit me? You think you’re gonna be the one to tell me what I can and can’t do? Baby, at Berlin, it’s not gonna be a Street Fight. I’m gonna slaughter you! So good luck.” Michin blows a kiss to The Queen of the Ring, will she go from dethroning her to demolishing her? Speaking of…

Tiffany Stratton & Pretty Deadly try to fix the crown.

An unfortunate casualty from last week’s attack, the boys are using hot glue, but it’s not enough. Nia tells Tiffy that she is in no mood. Tiff doesn’t blame her. What Michin did was disgusting! Nia says Michin destroyed the celebration that Tiff put together for Nia. Nia will get Mia back for it. Mia made a huge mistake touching the crown. And now Mia thinks she’s taking the title? Mia will get the beating of a lifetime! How perfect, My Queen! Is there anything Tiff can do for her? Start by fixing the crown. Done! Elton Prince & Kit Wilson carefully carry it away, Tiff leading the way. And that’s when Nia overhears Chelsea Green & Piper Niven.

The Hot Mess mocks Tiff’s celebration for Nia as being a poor excuse for a 13-year-old’s birthday party. Uck! And Chelsea hates talking behind people’s backs, obviously, but… It was so pink, it almost gave Chelsea pinkeye! Piper says it was saccharin, to say the least. If it were Piper & Chelsea, Piper would never have let Mia get out of the ring. Chelsea agrees. Tacky Time only has Nia’s back so she can stab a knife in it. It’d be such a shame if the inevitable happened and Tiff cashed in after the Street Fight. But then Nia steps into view and the two are startled! Chelsea asks if Nia heard every single word coming out of her perfectly lined lips.

Nia doesn’t know if Chelsea heard, but Nia is in no mood tonight. Okay, they’ll go. Bye. Chelsea & Piper scurry away, but do they have a point? Could Tiff take advantage of how hardcore Nia and Mia are going to go?

Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens VS A-Town Down Under!

Speaking of stirring the pot, The American Nightmare and Canadian Prizefighter saw the attempt by Aussie Icon and Audacious Austin to do that earlier tonight. Cody gave a bit of it back, but will he and Kevin be able to take down Grayson Waller and his best mate? Or will we see that the gold always gets in the way?

SmackDown returns and KO makes his entrance. He stands with Cody, and then ATDU makes their entrance. Waller snatches a fan’s sign that reads, “You are the Raygun of SmackDown,” and RIPS it! He will not have anyone disrespecting the Australian Olympian. The teams sort out, and Cody starts against Waller. Cody blocks a shot to kick low and RHODES UPPERCUT! Then he kicks and RHODES UPPERCUTS again! Waller swings, Cody wrenches to UPPERCUT the arm! Cody CLUBS the arm, wrenches it again, then tags in Kevin. Kevin kicks Waller, fires hands, then whips. Kevin ELBOWS Waller down, then SENTONS! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally for Kevin as he pushes Waller to the corner, and CHOPS! Tag to Cody, he and Kevin double whip, and DOUBLE ELBOW! Cover, TWO! Cody keeps on Waller with a chinlock, but Waller fights up. Cody wrenches, wristlocks, and he tags Kevin back in. Kevin DECKS Waller, stomps Waller, then brings him up. Kevin CHOPS Waller, CHOPS again, and Waller falls! Kevin brings Waller up, facelocks, but then Theory is up to something. Theory goes around the ring to go after Cody so Cody DECKS him! But that means Cody misses Kevin’s tag, and Waller pops free to ROCK Kevin!

Waller whips Kevin, Kevin holds ropes and then DUMPS Waller! Waller stays on the apron, Theory returns but Kevin DECKS Theory! Waller HOTSHOTS Kevin! Kevin staggers, Waller tags Theory, and Theory slingshot somersaults and SHOTGUNS! Then he DECKS Cody! Cody storms in but the ref stops him, and Theory rains down fists on Kevin! Theory says all day, and SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns as Waller has Kevin up top. Waller throws hands, but Kevin fires back! The fans rally and Kevin HEADBUTTS Waller! Waller holds on, but Kevin fires hands! And another HEADBUTT! Waller falls, Kevin hits a FROG SPLASH! Both men are down, Kevin clutches his knee, and the fans rally harder! Kevin and Waller crawl, kick past each other, hot tag to Cody! Cody rallies on Waller with big hands, then whips. Waller reverses but Cody CLOBBERS him! Cody baits Waller into a corner, goes up and over, then SNAP POWERSLAMS! The fans fire up more, and Cody is feeling it! Cody then runs, springboards, BEAUTIFUL DISASTER!

Waller bails out but Cody pounds the mat. The fans rally, Cody builds speed, but Theory trips him up! The fans boo, but Cody hits back! Cody TOSSES Theory onto the desk! Cody slides back in the ring, but Waller somersaults in, for the FLATLINER! Cover, TWO! Cody survives but Waller drags him around. Waller tags Theory while Kevin rallies the fans. Waller fires knees again and again, then sets Cody up for Theory’s LARIAT! Theory taunts Kevin, and then CHOKES Cody while the ref is busy! The fans boo, Cody goes to ropes, and Theory brings him up. But Cody fires body shots in return! Cody ROCKS Theory, whips, but Theory reverses!

Cody hits buckles hard, but Theory keeps him from Kevin. Theory snapmares then chinlocks. Theory grinds Cody down but the fans rally up. Cody rises as Kevin gets the fans really fired up! Theory THROWS Cody down, then clamps the chinlock back on! The fans rally as hard as they can and Cody fights up again. Theory knees low, then back suplexes, but Cody lands out! Cody springboards, CODY CUTTER!! Both men are down and the fans are thunderous! Cody crawls, finds his way around, but now Waller goes after Kevin! Kevin scares Waller off, Theory runs at Cody, and Cody dodges!

Theory hits buckles, Cody reaches out, but it’s the same trick as before! Kevin hurries back but Theory reels Cody in! BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Cody survives, Theory is frustrated, but he clamps on another chinlock. Cody endures, reaches out, but Theory CLUBS him in the back! Tag to Waller, and ATDU double whip. Cody KICKS Theory back, DUMPS Waller out, then he TOSSES Theory! Cody flounders, the fans are thunderous, but Cody hot tags Kevin! Kevin CLOBBERS Waller, CLOBBERS Theory, then SENTONS Theory! And SENTONS Waller! Kevin is all fired up and the fans are with him!

Kevin puts Waller in, then CANNONBALLS Theory from the apron! Kevin hurries in to then aim at Waller! The fans are thunderous for the CANNONBALL! Kevin goes right up top, “This is Awesome!” as Kevin SWANTON BOMBS! Cover, Theory breaks it! Cody returns and he spins Theory around! CROSS RHODES!! Waller stagger sup, he BOOTS Cody out, but Kevin is there! STUN- NO, Waller rolls him up! TWO!! SUPERKICK from Kevin! Kevin clinches Waller, whips him, and POP-UP POEWRBOMBS him!! Cover, Kevin & Cody win!

Winners: Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens, by pinfall

DC is thunderous for #KODY as they are victorious over ATDU! The Prizefighter stands alongside the champion, but he’ll soon be standing against the champion. And speaking of, Kevin has the belt in his hands, and he’s looking at Cody. Kevin storms up, but to hand the belt off to Cody so that he can dare ATDU to try another round! Cody is relieved, but is it all going to change one way or another in Berlin?

My Thoughts:

A great SmackDown here that acted as an early go-home in a few ways. For one, great opening talk show segment to set up a great tag team main event. I do appreciate all the teasing of Kevin turning, with that great video to look back all the way to Kevin showing up in NXT, and with Kevin pulling off a great fake-out on the belt shot at the very end. It might not be until the title match that Kevin is tempted to be a Heel, and maybe that hesitation is what costs him. It would make for some compelling stuff for Kevin going forward, and is very much Kevin as a storyteller. He points out how he subverted tropes in the opening, and he always keeps continuity, even in matches, so being conflicted between who he was in the past and who he wants to be now would be a great next phase.

Great US Championship match tonight, and speaking of subverting expectations, the attack before the bell and how it backfired was good stuff. Knight VS Santos was again a great match but yeah (no pun intended), Santos lost again. Corbin & Crews get back on the story by rubbing it in, and I sense that going from a tag team match to a Six Man Tag, just not sure who outside of Knight would jump in on it. Knight wanting an Open Challenge, could this be a chance for someone like Shinsuke Nakamura to return to TV? And very good promo from Melo and Andrade to set up “game four.” I feel like Melo wins that in order to keep things going into “game five,” and only then does someone move on towards the US Championship.

Great Six Woman Tag, and great star-spangled gear for The Big 3. I was surprised the news for the tag title match came before the show, I would’ve thought it’d happen tonight after the Six Woman Tag, but in the end, The Big 3 were still winning. Now, I have no idea if Jade & Bianca win the titles back with the match now on a PLE, but I still lean towards not. As I said for Raw, it just feels like Alba & Isla still have defenses to have while we can see Jade & Bianca move on towards a singles title story. Speaking of which, great promo from Michin, and great combo promo from Nia, Tiff, Pretty Deadly, Chelsea & Piper. A Street Fight for the title definitely opens the door to overbooking, and even Tiff trying to cash-in. This will be a lot of fun for the go-home episode in Berlin next week, that’s for sure.

Great video to give us the history lesson on WWE and Germany, and great to have Natty narrate. She isn’t gone from WWE, but perhaps just waiting for her chance to do something. Great promo from Solo to essentially activate a Freebird Rule type transfer of the titles so that the Guerrillas of Destiny can hold the belts together while Jacob Fatu moves up into “Enforcer” role, even though he already had it from a previous promo, but also can be their midcard title guy. Great match from Guerrillas VS Profits, and of course Bloodline cheats to keep the belts, but I also liked DIY doing their best to fight them. That feels like an 8 Man Tag for sure, Profits & DIY VS Bloodline, almost a test run for a Bloodline WarGames match in November.

My Score: 8.8/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Fuego Del Sol VS Wheeler Yuta!

Lucha night opens with a hot start as the Fire of the Sun returns to ROH, but so does The Decoder! Will Fuego Del Sol get one up on a former ROH Pure Champion turned current AEW World Trios Champion? Or will Yuta do the Death Riders proud in Houston?

Houston cheers on the Texas star, and Fuego offers the Code of Honor. Yuta reaches out, but then SLAPS Fuego! The fans boo and the bell rings, Yuta slips around to CLUB Fuego down! Yuta mocks the fans cheering on Fuego, then scoops him for a SLAM and SENTON! The fans boo but Yuta brings Fuego up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO, but Yuta holds onto the leg! Yuta taunts Fuego, but Fuego kicks at him! Yuta lets go and the fans rally up. Yuta runs up, Fuego ELBOWS him away, then goes up, up and FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up as Fuego then DROPKICKS Yuta down!

Yuta staggers up, Fuego SLAPS him! But Yuta LARIATS in return! The fans boo but Yuta rains down fists! And then stops, to rain down more fists! The fans boo but Yuta soaks that up while he “kicks dirt” on Fuego. Yuta stands Fuego up, CHOPS him, then has him in a corner. Yuta CHOPS Fuego again, the fans boo, but Yuta whips corner to corner hard! Fuego staggers forward, Yuta says they ain’t done yet. Yuta whips Fuego to the corner again, then FLAPJACKS on the rebound! Yuta adds a basement DROPKICK! The fans boo but Yuta soaks up heat. Yuta hits a spinning toehold, then has a DEATHLOCK!

Fuego endures and Yuta mockingly asks if he’ll give up. Fuego refuses to give in, and he SLAPS Yuta! So Yuta bridges and puts on more pressure! Yuta shows off by not even using his hands, but Fuego fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! Yuta lets go at 4, and he reminds the ref, “I have ’til five!” The fans boo Yuta parodying Bryan Danielson, then Yuta kicks Fuego around. Yuta eggs Fuego on, so Fuego ROCKS him! And ROCKS him! And again, and again, and again! But Yuta gets under the big haymaker! Yuta back suplexes, but Fuego lands out! Fuego dodges Yuta to then springboard QUEBRADA! Down goes Yuta!

The fans fire up as Fuego kips up and SUPERKICKS! Yuta sputters, Fuego runs and STEP-UP DOUBLE STOMPS! The fans fire up again as Fuego climbs a corner! Yuta stands, Fuego MISSILE- NO, Yuta gets under and comes back, BUSAIKU KNEE! Cover, Yuta wins!

Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall

Another thing he took from The American Dragon is that big knee, and Yuta takes the victory. Yuta sits Fuego up, and thinks about Hammer ‘n’ Anvil elbows, but he decides not to. Because he gets an even more sadistic idea! Yuta looks under the ring, and he brings out a steel chain! Yuta threatens the ref, then he goes to Fuego! The fans boo but Yuta hooks Fuego’s legs up, then uses the chain to go up, up and away, ROMERO SPECIAL!! Yuta taunts Fuego but Fuego is coughing up blood! Yuta lets Fuego go, the fans boo, but Yuta mockingly gives the Code of Honor handshake. Yuta no longer has honor, but will someone find a way to humble him?

Rachael Ellering VS Abadon!

The Queen of Strong Smile is feeling good being in Houston, ready to bring that Comet energy. However, she’s up against the Living Dead Girl, who brings a very different vibe. Will Rachael learn why everyone fears Abadon? Or will Rachael’s smile see her through?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, but uh, Abadon doesn’t let go. Rachael tries to get free, and now it is a tug-o-war. The fans rally, Rachael reels Abadon into a headlock, but Abadon BITES Rachael’s hand! The ref reprimands, Abadon lets go, and Abadon doesn’t get what’s wrong. Abadon runs up on Rachael but Rachael gets around to waistlock. Abadon switches, but Rachael goes to ropes to buck the O’Conner! Rachael CLOBBERS Abadon, but Abadon sits up! The fans rally, Rachael is frustrated, and then runs up. Abadon gets around, trips Rachael, then runs to basement dropkick! Rachael flounders to a corner and the fans rally again.

Abadon aims from a corner, runs in at Rachael, but Racahel ELBOWS Abadon away! Abadon says nuh-uh, comes back, but runs into a BOOT! Rachael runs and UPPERCUTS Abadon down! The fans fire up and Rachael aims from a corner. Rachael calls for the “SQUISH~!” and runs up, SENTON onto knees! Abadon avoids disaster and stalks Rachael to the apron. Abadon CLUBS Rachael, pushes her onto the apron, and springboards for a GUILLOTINE LEG DROP! The fans fire up and Abadon pushes Rachael into the ring. Abadon runs corner to corner for a METEORA! Abadon pushes Rachael to a cover, TWO!

Abadon is annoyed but brushes it off. Abadon drags Rachael up, but Rachael fights the suplex! Rachael wrenches out, trips Abadon, and high stacks, ONE!! Rachael ROCKS Abadon, then tries again. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up for the “MD Collapse” and Rachael aims again. SQUISH~ SENTON hits! Cover, TWO! Abadon survives and Rachael is a bit surprised. Rachael throws off the headband, double checks her teeth, and the fans duel. Rachael CHOPS Abadon at the ropes, then ROCKS Abadon with a forearm! Rachael whips but Abadon blocks! So Rachel CHOPS again! Rachael whips, Abadon grabs ropes, and laughs!

Rachael runs up, Abadon ELBOWS and CUTTERS! Then BLACK DAHLIA!! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall

Abadon continues to be terrifying, as well as victorious. Will the ROH Women’s Division, and especially the champions, have to watch their backs?

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

12 Man Tag: The Premier Athletes & The Frat House VS Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs!

Instead of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Tony Nese has the mic to tell Bobby Cruise to shut up, “no one wants to listen to your stupid voice.” Nese then tells the “fat boys and fat girls” of Houston, Nese & Daivari couldn’t think of a better partner for this match than an athlete that makes every single one of them put to shame! Yes, it’s SMART MARK himself! Wait, seriously? Sterling takes the mic to say that’s right, he is still here to make sure that the losers of Texas can take part in their winning cheer. So please, get this right. When he says, “Athletes,” you say, “Rule!” NOTHING ELSE! Hands in, boys. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Gottee!

But with that, Dante & Darius Martin enter, accompanied by Leila Grey. Then Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd enter, and last but not least, Texas’ own, Marshall & Ross Von Erich! The massive teams sort out, and Darius starts against Nese. The fans rally up and Darius circles with Nese. Nese says wait, wait! He knows what the fans are here to see. Nese flexes, but the fans boo. Nese shouts, “ATHLETES!” The fans respond, “SUCK!” Nese and Darius circle, but then Nese kicks low! Nese bumps Darius off buckles, then tags in Daivari. “We’ll show you who sucks!” Nese & Daivari fire hands in the corner while the fans boo.

The ref counts, The Premier Athletes stop, and they both shout, “ATHLETES!” Again, the fans say, “SUCK!” Daivari tags Griff and they mug Darius. Griff ROCKS Darius, has him in a corner, then whips corner to corner. Darius goes up and over, rolls and arm-drags, then he DROPKICKS! The fans cheer, and Darius whips Griff into Dante’s BOOT! Tag to Dante, Darius CHOPS, Dante trips Griff, and Darius adds DOUBLE STMOPS! Griff scrambles, tag to Jameson, but Dante arm-drags Jameson! Dante keeps the armlock, he tags in Ross, and Ross wrenches to a wristlock. Ross YANKS the arm, then tags Marshall.

The Von Erichs double whip Jameson, then Marshall sends Ross in, FLYING BOOT! FLYING LARIAT and then Marshall snapmares Jameson for Ross’s PENALTY KICK! STANDING MOONSAULT and Marshall covers, TWO! Marshall fires the fans up, then hauls Jameson up to headlock. Tag to Truth and he wrenches Jameson. The fans rally but Jameson fires hands! Jameson whips, Daivari gets a cheap shot in, but Truth DECKS Daivari! Only for Vance to CLOBBER Truth! The ref has to keep Truth’s team back, so he missed all that! Jameson stomps Truth, tags Vance, and Vance covers, TWO!

Vance ROCKS Truth, has him in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Daivari, he CHOPS Truth, then he tags Nese. The Premier Athletes mug Truth with haymaker after haymaker, but the ref is still too busy keeping Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs back! Nese drags Truth up, and he tags in Sterling!? The fans boo but Sterling gets to throw hands on Truth! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling drags Truth back, anchors a leg, and tags in Vance. Vance stomps Truth, tags Jameson, and Jameson tags Griff. Vance puts Truth in a corner, Griff sends Jameson in to LARIAT! Vance adds a BOOT, and then Griff BOOTS Truth down! Cover, TWO!

Griff tags Vance back in, they mug Truth, and Vance keeps Truth from the corner. Vance suplexes, covers, TWO! Truth stays in this but Vance stays on him with a chinlock. Truth endures, the fans rally up, and Truth stands. Truth fires body shots, but Vance CLUBS him! Vance whips, Truth ducks ‘n’ dodges, DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! The fans fire up again as Truth and Vance crawl. Truth pushes past Vance, but Leila has to get out of the way as The Premier Athletes & Frat House all run up! They all YANK Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs off the apron, leaving Truth stranded! But at least Truth’s team fights back!

The fans fire up, but Truth turns around into a BOOT! Truth ends up on the apron, Vance runs up, and Vance SPEARS Truth onto the entire cluster! The fans fire up as Vance drags Truth into the ring. Cover, TWO! The fans rally up as Truth stays in this. The teams regroup, Vance whips Truth to the corner, but Truth BOOTS back! Truth fires hands on everyone else, and then storms up, but Vance keeps him from his corner! Vance whips and catches Truth to a SLEEPER, but Truth hits a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up as Truth crawls! Leila coaches Truth, hot tag to Turbo! And to Sterling!? Sterling panics, he wants nothing to do with Turbo!

Jameson runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Griff runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Nese runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Daivari runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Turbo then scoops and SLAMS Nese! And he scoops and SLAMS Daivari! The fans fire up as Turbo ELBOWS Daivari in a corner, headlocks, BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO on The Premier Athletes! The fans are thunderous as Turbo flexes, but Sterling slithers in! Sterling CLUBS Turbo on the back, the fans boo, but Turbo just frowns and turns around. Sterling apologizes but Turbo grabs him by his shirt. Only for Jameson to get in and scoop SLAM Turbo! Jameson shouts, “Mark Sterling! You sonova b*tch!”

Jameson and Sterling look to parody the handshake, but Truth CLOBBERS Jameson! Sterling again apologizes, but Turbo stands back up! Sterling backs up into Turbo, panics, but Truth scoops Sterling! SLAM! The fans fire up as we get the real deal! Except Nese & Daivari get in! Wait, Marshall & Ross get them first, with DOUBLE IRON CLAWS! “Turbo Floyd! You sonova b*tch!” DOUBLE ELBOW DROP on Sterling! And then Sterling flounders up, into a scoop, but Griff & Vance get in! Top Flight DOUBLE SUPERKICK them back out! Truth runs, TOTAL RECALL!! Dante runs, Darius sets up, FLIGHT IN MOTION for Griff! Turbo covers Sterling, #TopVonRunners win!

Winners: Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs, by pinfall

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes this win as the super team everybody loves stands tall! But with The Von Erichs holding gold with Dustin Rhodes, will The Sons of Texas soon be everyone’s top priority?

MXM Collection speaks.

ROH Media found Mansoor & Mason Madden after their loss at ROH Global Wars: Australia, but they still had their remodeled ROH World Tag title belt. As such, they act triumphant and victorious because they “successfully defended” their ROH World Tag Team Championship. Because as you can see, they still have the belt! Shoutout to Dustin Rhodes, he is a great fellow tag team champion, he really tested MXM. But then they ran away with this here title, and there is nothing anyone can say about it! Fingertip touch and MXM heads out, but they do know possession is NOT nine-tenths of the law in ROH, right?

Billie Starkz VS Hyan!

As if tensions weren’t already high between these two, Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths is being belittled because she lost to Harley Cameron on the Jericho Cruise while The Fallen Goddess is still ROH Women’s World Champion after beating Alex Windsor in Australia. The Athena World Tour returns home to Texas, but will Billie make “Boss” proud? Or will even disappointment be bigger in Texas?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and the fans rally up for Hyan. Billie is annoyed, the two tie up, and Billie wrenches to a wristlock. Hyan cartwheels, wrenches to a wristlock, but Billie rolls, rolls back, then trips Hyan. Billie flexes, the fans are torn, but then Billie throws Hyan down by her hair! Billie then drags Hyan up to waistlock. Hyan fires elbows, runs to ropes, but Billie holds on! Billie CLUBS Hyan’s arms from the ropes, to STRAITJACKET GERMAN!

Hyan keeps moving, but Billie ELBOWS her away. And BOOTS her! Billie goes up, Hyan stops the boot, but not the rebound ENZIGIRI! Billie goes up top, leaps, but Hyan gets under! Hyan ELBOWS Billie, cravats to KNEE and KNEE SMASH!

Hyan hits a BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Billie stays in this, it’s why she’s the inaugural ROH Women’s TV Champion. But she sits up into a CHOP! Hyan CHOPS again, and again, but Billie blocks! Billie scowls, and then she ROCKS Hyan again and again! Billie has Hyan in the corner, fires more shots, but the ref counts. Billie stops at 4, then backs up just to run up, HEEL KICK! Billie then puts Hyan up top, Electric Chair Lifts, and she tucks Hyan in for a DRIVER!! Cover, Billie wins!

Winner: Billie Starkz, by pinfall

Well, if Kenny Omega uses a One Winged Angel, was that a Two Winged Angel? The bottom line is Billie is back in the win column, but will she ever fight her way out from under Athena’s tyranny?

ROH World Television Championship: Komander w/ Alex Abrahantes VS Lee Johnson w/ EJ Nduka!

After failing to finish the Proving Ground match in under ten minutes, the Commander of the Skies has owed Big Shotty this title shot. Will Komander get the job done now that there’s a thirty minute time limit? Or will Lee prove this is all too easy?

Lee bumps Komander off buckles, then brings him around to fire body shots. The fans rally, the ref counts, but Lee stomps away on Komander. Lee digs his boots in, but steps off at 4.

Lee storms back up on Komander, brings him around, and whips him corner to corner hard! Komander bounces off buckles, Lee shouts, “You’re NOTHING!” Lee covers, TWO! Lee is frustrated, but he rains down fists! The fans rally with “SI SE PUEDES!” Lee hammers away, then lets off to talk trash. Lee drags Komander up, TOSSES him to the outside, and EJ stays back. Lee taunts Houston, the ref watches EJ closely, but The Judge defends his own innocence. Lee goes out the side to fetch Komander, and he CLUBS Komander down! Lee puts Komander in the ring, drags him up, and snapmares for a chinlock.

BRAINBUSTER to the floor!! EJ is fired up and the fans lose their minds! The ref checks both men, and somehow they’re both okay to continue. Lee and Komander stir while the ring count begins.

Both men are down at 5 of 20, then 8. Lee staggers up at 9, and he grabs Komander’s leg to SLAM it against the LED barrier again and again! Then he KICKS the leg! Even with all that damage done by Big Shotty, Komander shows the grit of a champion and pulls out the victory! Will he still find ways to win, no matter the odds?

Red Velvet speaks.

When it comes to her by-any-means-necessary way of winning, The Chef knows we all want to know “Why? Why? I have been on a roll lately. The hottest of my career. Why? Why? I’m starting to get real tired of the same questions. Why? I’m just getting started.” When and where will Red Velvet serve up another L fresh from the kitchen?

Lucha night comes to an end with a huge crossover between ROH and CMLL! And it will be lucha rules! That means if the legal man falls out of the ring, someone can jump in and take their place! Will the Spanish God be able to help The Flame of Mexico and El Latigo Lagunero win big in Texas? Or will the Alchemist, El Australopithecus Apestosus y The Luxury of Lucha prove they are primero del mundo?

Wait, MXM appears on stage to taunt Sammy with his ROH World Tag Team title belt. Sammy ignores them while the trios sort out. But then Hechicero DROPKICKS Sammy out! Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
