Sit-down interview with Kelani Jordan.

Sarah Schreiber sits with the NXT Women’s North American Champion ahead of her title defense against Wendy Choo. Kelani is still the inaugural champion, and every champion has a different mentality. What is Kelani’s? Kelani says mentality is everything. When she arrived in WWE, she was shy, timid, didn’t know where she was gonna fit in, just another athlete who did gymnastics. But something gymnastics taught her is there’s a difference between thinking you’re a champion and being a champion. She trained her mind as much as she did her body. Those who started in sports compared to pro-wrestlers have very different mindsets.

For example, Roxanne Perez is very confident, thinking no one is on her level. But Kelani is aware that there are many talented women on this roster, but she keeps leaving it out there int he ring. Speaking of the talent, Kelani has already defended against a great athlete like Sol Ruca, a veteran like Mia Yim, another peer in Tatum Paxley, so how does she feel about this new Wendy Choo? Kelani is very excited, but also just a little bit of a chip on her shoulder. Wendy choked Kelani out! Rude. But Kelani has had great opponents, great defenses. She didn’t know how she was going to hang with Mia, and Sol is a freak of nature athlete.

Even Tatum. People sleep on her, but she pushed Kelani. But Wendy… Wendy was Kelani’s first ever match on Level Up. And while this isn’t the same Wendy, this isn’t the same Kelani. Sarah agrees, Kelani has gone from kickoff show last year at No Mercy to the main show this year as a champion. How does she intend on staying the champion? Well, it is crazy how things can change in a year. From kickoff show to an inaugural Women’s North American Champion is surreal. But it is up to her to create the importance and legacy of this title. She is fully aware Wendy will pull out all the stops, and might even throw the pillow.

Wendy is ready because she has nothing to lose. But there’s nothing more dangerous than someone who has everything to lose. That someone is Kelani, and this title is hers! Will the Gym Princess prove that no one, not even the wily and wicked Wendy, does it like Lani?

Backstage interview with Oba Femi.

Sarah Schreiber is now with The Ruler, and brings up his many encounters with Tony D’Angelo, including Oba going to Tony’s restaurant. How is The Don different than all his other opponents? Oba says Tony is a man who loves to demonstrate his power. Whether it is numbers int he ring, in the streets, or even last week. Oba showed Tony a true demonstration of power. Everyone was afraid of Oba, no one could look him in the eyes, except for Tony. Tony put Oba down, and has now developed a false sense of confidence. His Yes Men tell him Oba has weaknesses that Tony can exploit, but no one is telling him the truth.

Tonight, Tony learns the truth. Tony learns he is only the Don of the Streets, and Oba is the Ruler of NXT! Oba has no weaknesses, he has no vulnerabilities, he is only inevitable! When it comes to this title, will Tony simply have to fogedaboutit?

Backstage interview with Nathan Frazer & Axiom.

Blake Howard thanks #Fraxiom for their time, and notes their NXT Tag Team Championship rematch with Chase U, but also wants to bring up their past as opponents. Well, that’s funny, because it all started here in this ring, 2022. The Best of 3 Series, then they went on to Deadline. Both men were rather new to NXT, they needed to prove themselves to the fans and to themselves. Frazer points out he came away with the final win, but Axiom is still a hell of a friend, tag partner and opponent. It reminds Frazer of an old friend in NXT UK, A-Kid. Wasn’t that guy always beating Frazer? Well, it was the Heritage Cup so it’s different.

But anyway, when #Fraxiom put it together in the Dusty Rhodes Cup, it just clicked. Lightning in a bottle! They somehow created magic from a rather random chaos. They became one of the best teams ever, a synergy you can’t throw away. Well, all teams have their ups and downs. For months, Fraxiom was winning, but something was off. Is that all in the past? Well, it was a bumpy road, and Frazer does take ownership of that. Axiom says it is both their fault on a level. But now they’re even closer together. They were at their best even! But now they’re ready to become even greater. It felt so weird to not have the titles, so now they need them back.

Anything can happen in NXT, and now Chase University scored a major upset. Did they ever consider going their separate ways? No, Axiom immediately felt that they had 126 days as champions, and knows they can do better. Frazer says yeah, they were right back to thinking how they can regain the titles. Amigos for life! Chase U will do anything and everything to retain, but Fraxiom will do the same to regain. So there’s no more slowing down! By the end of No Mercy, Fraxiom will be TWO TIME NXT Tag Team Champions! Will they have the winning formula for Mr. Chase & Ridge? Or will they be on the receiving end of a #TeachableMoment?

Ava Raine is on the phone.

They were where she left them! Robert Stone and Stevie Turner are driving her nuts, she tells them to figure it out! She hangs up, and Trick Williams walks up. Why does everyone keep saying that phrase? Oh, right, sorry. Well that’s fine, Trick has Dunne on Tuesday. Are they good? Yes. The main event is Ethan VS Hendry, Trick as the ref. But she really hopes that, even with his grudge against All Ego, Trick is a fair official. Trick says his momma raised him right, he will call it like it T I IS, right down the middle. But if Ethan tries Trick, Trick will check him. Ava accepts that. But she also brings up Hendry’s promise that if he wins, Trick gets next.

Yeah, Hendry did promise that, Trick believes in Joe Hendry, but if Hendry tries Trick, Trick will check him, too. Now, here’s a question for Ava. What’s she think of his referee shirt? She likes it. Yeah, he looks like money! Hit it with him now. Trick cranks it for #WhoopDatTrick, and while Ava resists at first, she joins in. Trick is ready, Ethan and Hendry are ready, but will this one still go sideways out there?

Sit-down interview with Ethan Page.

Vic Joseph is with All Ego, and brings up tonight’s historic title match with TNA star, Joe Hendry. How is Ethan handling the pressure of this moment? How about we rewind and repeat that part? Pressure? No, the historic thing. Oh, well, we’ve never seen a title match like this, it is the NXT Championship on the line between an NXT Superstar and a TNA wrestler. Ethan smirks. Ever since he debuted in NXT< he’s been making history. The show is on a roll, all thanks to him, Sunday will be no different. Well, someone who has been bruising Ethan’s ego is Hendry. Hendry had his song, “Ethan Sucks, Believe In Joe-”

Oh, really? Vic is gonna sing the song. Just ask the question. Then how is Hendry a threat to both the title reign and the Ego Era? Well Ethan has never lied. Ethan described all three contenders, and he said Hendry is arguably the greatest star in all of TNA. Ethan knows what he brings, and has felt what he brings. Ethan knows Hendry is dangerous, but so is everyone. That comes with the territory of bein ga champion. Hendry is no different. Vic says he isn’t doubting anything Ethan’s done, but he is also going up against something different. You usually never have to worry about the referee, but now, the man Ethan beat for the title, is special guest referee!

Isn’t that interesting? Trick colluded with the GM to make this happen. How is Ethan gonna manage? With one of his greatest rivals, the man he defeated, and has been promised a shot at this title if Hendry wins? That’s not gonna play into how Trick handles business tonight? Well, Vic is sure Trick will be a man of his word. Vic believes that? Does Ethan believe? Okay, don’t do that. No, he doesn’t mean Hendry. Does Ethan believe Trick will be fair? No! No one watching should not believe it, either! Trick has too much to gain. He can screw over the man who beat him, and he can get a title match.

Trick also has a lot on his plate with Pete Dunne saying Trick won’t even make it to Tuesday. Ethan doesn’t care about that, that’s Dunne’s business. Ethan hopes Trick can focus on being a fair referee, not on his opponent this Tuesday. Then there will be a portion of the crowd believing in Hendry, and another cheering for Trick. How will Ethan control his emotions? Ethan gets a headache. He has enough on his own plate. He has the entire weight of this title, of this company, all on his shoulders. We’re a month away from going to the CW, and Vic wants to ask about chants and what Ethan’s fans are doing?

Because yes, they’re HIS fans! Ethan ended the Whoop Dat Era and has started his own. Fans can sing, fine! And when Trick of Ethan’s match comes out, chant “Whoop Dat Trick” all you want. It is Ethan’s job to leave with this title so that NXT can thrive. Vic offers a handshake as he wishes Ethan luck, Ethan refuses. Will Ethan’s ego get the better of him when it comes time to back words up with actions?

Change is in the air, navigating through the mountainous terrain of NXT.

Ego stands at the top, but a new name echoes through the valleys. Will the ego reign supreme? Or will fans be singing along with a new champion? A Must-See Friendship is now in shambles. A Prodigy continues on, only to run into a meaner, tougher contender. Change is inevitable, and in the end, there will be No Mercy.

From Rascalz to Must-See Kids to Dusty Cup winners to NXT Tag Team Champions, then to a team broken up but still bonded, then reunited, only for selfishness to get in the way. Hank Walker checks in with Tank Ledger.

They both agree, absolute banger of an NXT Tag team Championship. But the drama! Ridge annihilated Chase, poor Thea, but uh… Frazer & Axiom got the job done. Frazer is nauseatingly good, he never slows down. But new champs need new contenders. And while those boys are used to driving on the other side of the road, they still know how to HONK HONK, right? If they don’t, they’re about to learn! Will Hank ‘n’ Tank keep on truckin’ their way to those tag titles? Or will they fail to get out the mud this Tuesday?

Referee Trick Willy wants Hendry to know he will call it like it T I IS! And Hendry likes that. But he also stands by the promise that if Hendry wins, Trick gets his title shot. Trick reaffirms, he believes in Joe Hendry. But will All Ego have something to say about that?

Winner: Oba Femi, by pinfall (still NXT North American Champion)

Tony surely has the heart of a champion, that’s why he lasted so long. But Oba has the heart, the strength, and the size of a beast, and that is why he IS champion! Will Oba be The Ruler then, now and forever?

Trick Williams meets with Ethan Page.

Ethan asks what Trick wants, but Trick tells him he’ll call this one right down the middle. Ethan mocks that, and says that’s a bigger joke than Trick being NXT Champion. Trick says no, Ethan’s the joke. And tonight, Ethan abides by Trick’s rules. Then lets’ cut through the crap. Ethan knows how this is gonna go: Ethan has something Trick wants, and Trick can’t beat him for it, so he’ll do everything in his power to make sure Joe Hendry walks out with the title. Oh, really? Trick can’t beat Ethan? C’mon, it isn’t about that tonight. This is about Ethan abiding by Trick’s rules. And if he doesn’t, Trick will whoop dat trick tonight!

Trick leaves and Ethan scowls, but will All Ego have no choice but to behave himself?

Backstage interview with The Rascalz.

Sarah is with Zach & Trey, and she congratulates Zach on his win tonight. Surely, he has a bit of redemption beating Wes tonight. Zach says he is so excited to win on a big night. And yes, he won this match, but he lost a brother in the process. But time to put that former friend in the rearview, and to appreciate the friend he still has. Trey always shows up. Trey says he just did what Zach would’ve done for him. Now, to the future. One thing they do best is keep on moving. And with new tag champs, well, Rascalz lost last time, but they never faced this combo. So Fraxiom, what do you say? They’ll be waiting.

NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez VS Jaida Parker!

The Prodigy has been a top level wrestler for a long time, but now she runs into an opponent who has been a top level athlete for even longer! Plus, Miss Parker has a bad attitude that rivals Roxie’s. This might come down to who’s the meanest, so who will do their worst to prove they’re the best?

Jaida does a walk ‘n’ talk. “Y’all all saw what I already know. Roxanne is a decorated champion, no doubt. But after tonight, baby girl, you can keep your little nickname, because your title is coming home with me! Because tonight, Jaida Parker is on point, and I am ready to become the next NXT Women’s Champion! Roxie comes back, Jaida fires body shots! Jaida ROCKS Roxie, ROCKS her again, then rolls her up! TWO! Roxie SHOTGUNS Jaida down!

The fans fire up while Jaida goes to the apron. Jaida RAMS into Roxie, but Roxie hits her back! Roxie POSTS Jaida, and Jaida is stuck on the crossbar! Roxie pulls Jaida into the corner, the ref counts, but then Roxie YANKS Jaida in! The fans are torn but Roxie grins. Roxie drags Jaida in, TWO! Jaida is toughing it out but Roxie is just pissed. Roxie clamps onto Jaida for a COBRA TWIST! Jaida endures being stretched and twisted, so Roxie SLAPS her in the side! And again! And again! Jaida endures, pries at the hold, but Roxie fires elbows into those ribs! The fans duel, Jaida reaches out, and she fights up to HIP- NO, Roxie BODY BLOCKS!

Jaida Parker put everything she had into this match, but Roxie went above and beyond that to stay on top! Will no one ever end The Prodigy’s reign? Wait, what’s going on with the lights? Roxie looks around as music plays, and then we all look to the stage. From out of the smoke, a figure appears! IT’S GIULIA~! One of the biggest names in Stardom and Japanese wrestling in general is finally here in NXT! And she clearly wants the gold. Will Roxie see she isn’t the best in the world now that the world has come to her?

Backstage interview with Ava Raine.

Sarah is now with the NXT General Manager, and while this has been an incredible night, she must ask for a medical update on Andre Chase. Ava wishes she had something, but she was just as blindsided as the rest of us. Chase will stay in the hospital overnight, and she’ll give us an update on social media when she hears from them. Then moving on to the new NXT Tag Team Champions, we have already heard from teams who want that first match. Yes, Ava has seen the videos, the tweets, the posts, so she has decided this Tuesday, a Tag Team Triple Threat of Gallus VS Rascalz VS Hank ‘n’ Tank, winners facing Fraxiom on September 10th, the run-up to SmackDown’s USA Network debut!

A big week is coming, and then speaking of the future for NXT, Ava has decided that whoever comes out of tonight’s main event THE NXT Champion, they will defend said title on the CW premiere in Chicago! Big moves all over NXT, who will we see wearing gold for the Fall season?

NXT Championship, Special Guest Referee Trick Williams: Ethan Page VS Joe Hendry!

The interweaving of stories is thick in this main event. All Ego stormed into NXT, failed against Trick 1v1 but won the Heatwave Fatal 4 Way. However, a name from his past has come to make an impact, and that’s by now taking this title from Ethan Page. Will the whole world soon believe in Joe Hendry? Or will Ethan make sure this stays the Era of Ego?

Trick makes his entrance, blowing his referee whistle, though that’s not really regulation for wrestling. Hendry makes his entrance, and Denver all waves their hands from side to side. Ethan is at gorilla and says enough with the silly song and stupid chants. The face of this brand, YOUR NXT Champion, Ethan Page will do what he does best: win! Now hit his music! The fans boo All Ego as he makes his entrance and has his own obnoxious smile. The introductions are made, the belt is raised by Trick, and we see which way this goes with Trick calling it down the middle!

The bell rings, the fans chant “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” Ethan points that out, but Trick tells him to focus on Hendry. Hendry and Ethan circle, tie up, and they go around. They end up in a corner, Trick counts, but neither man lets off. Trick gets in to break it up, and he reprimands them. Ethan says don’t put your hands on him! Trick says he’s the ref, they gotta listen to him. The two go again, and Ethan powers Hendry back, but Hendry puts Ethan in the corner. Trick counts, he still has to get in there, and the fans chant “ETHAN SUCKS! ETHAN SUCKS!” Ethan is mad but Trick’s being fair here. Hendry headlocks, then hits a takeover.

Ethan headscissors, Hendry kips free and the fans cheer. Ethan frowns, but he resets with Hendry to tie up again. Hendry wrenches, wristlocks, but Ethan wrenches and wristlocks back. Hendry rolls and rolls and rolls free, and the fans cheer. Ethan is upset but Trick says that was all fair. The two go again, Hendry wrenches to fireman’s carry and takeover! Hendry keeps the wristlock, but Ethan fights up to wrench and wristlock back. Hendry rolls, kips up, and WRINGS Ethan out! The fans cheer but Ethan is upset. Ethan and Hendry reset, tie up, and Ethan headlocks. Hendry pries the hold but Ethan holds on.

Ethan grinds the headlock but Hendry powers out. Ethan RAMS Hendry, but Hendry just wags his finger. Ethan gets in Hendry’s face, then runs, to RAM him again! Hendry still stays up! The fans fire up, Ethan kicks low! Ethan pie faces Hendry, runs, but Hendry dodges to CLOBBER Ethan! The fans are thunderous already as Hendry suplexes Ethan, holds him up, and then marches around! Hendry shows all sides of the crowd, then he BRAINBUSTERS! Cover, TWO! A fair count, and Hendry stays cool. But Ethan fires a forearm! And a kick! And a haymaker! Ethan huffs and puffs, whips, but Hendry sunset flips! Cover, TWO!

Ethan RAMS in again and again, Trick reprimands, but Ethan drags Hendry up. Ethan whips, ELBOWS Hendry down, then takes a breather by the ropes. Ethan then clamps on a facelock to grind Hendry down.

Hendry endures, fights up, and fans rally again. Hendry stands but Ethan jumps on, GUILLOTINE FACELOCK! Trick checks on Hendry and Hendry powers up! Hendry suplexes Ethan up and over! The fans are thunderous as Hendry brings Ethan up! Fireman’s carry, but Ethan slips free to ROUNDHOUSE! Ethan then POSTS Hendry, and he brings Hendry around to suplex! Cover, TWO! Hendry survives and Ethan is upset. Trick says that was a fair count, he had to check the shoulders. Ethan ROCKS Hendry, the fans taunt him with “PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!” Ethan fires more hands, then he puts Hendry up top.

Ethan HEADBUTTS Hendry, climbs, and brings Hendry up. Hendry fights the suplex! Hendry choke grips! But Ethan fights with elbows! The fans boo as Ethan adjusts position, and he drags Hendry onto his shoulder! SUPER POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO!! Hendry survives and Ethan is frustrated again. Ethan drags Hendry to a drop zone, the fans chant “Whoop Dat Trick!” but then they boo as Ethan climbs a corner. Hendry UPPERCUTS first! Hendry climbs, clinches, and SUPER FALL AWAY SLAMS! Ethan tumbles all the way out of the ring! Hendry just fires up, and the fans are with him! “WE BELIEVE! WE BELIEVE!”

Hendry runs and HIGH JUMPS onto Ethan! Denver is thunderous as Hendry stands tall! Hendry hauls Ethan up, but Ethan RAMS him into steel steps! Ethan drags Hendry up, reels him in, and APRON EGO’S EDGE!! Ethan leaves Hendry behind, he wants the ring count! Trick starts, Ethan wants it faster! Trick says he is doing it right! Hendry kicks low, reels Ethan in, and has him up! Hendry steals EGO’S EDGE!! Cover, TWO!! Ethan survives Hendry’s take on his move! The fans rally up again, “WE BELIEVE! WE BELIEVE!” Ethan goes to ropes, Hendry storms up and UPPERCUTS! Ethan ROCKS Hendry with a haymaker! Hendry UPPERCUTS again! Ethan HAYMAKERS again! UPPERCUT! CHOP! Hendry CHOPS back! They go back and forth, shot for shot, and Hendry gets the edge! Hendry whips, to LARIAT Ethan down! And LARIAT again! Hendry scoops for a FALL AWAY SLAM! And a kip up! Denver is thunderous again as Hendry… turns to face the camera!

Hendry gets the stomp-stomp-clap rhythm going, and he choke grips! STANDING OVATION SLAM!! Cover, Trick sees a foot under the rope! Hendry argues with Trick now, but fair is fair! Ethan’s leg did get under the bottom rope, so- ETHAN SHOVES HENDRY INTO TRICK! Ethan steals STANDING OVATION!! A second ref is here already!? TWO!!! Ethan is stunned, he just can’t catch a break! Ethan decides to hell with it, and he grabs his belt! The ref says no, stop that! Hendry rolls Ethan up! TWO!! Ethan escapes, Hendry sees the belt and goes for it! DDT onto the belt!!! Cover, TRICK STOPS THE NEW REF!!

The fans are thunderous, because Trick is laying down the law! Ethan says no, he was no longer the official! Ethan takes a swing, Trick ducks and the new ref goes down! Trick is distracted, Hendry choke grips Ethan, but Ethan LOW BLOWS Hendry!! The fans boo, we all saw what happened! But Ethan hits EGO’S EDGE!!! Cover, Trick reluctantly counts, Ethan wins!

Winner: Ethan Page, by pinfall (still NXT Champion)

Ethan grins at Trick because he just pulled one over on him! Ethan tells Trick to raise his hand, so Trick does so, just as reluctantly. Ethan gives a sarcastic thumbs up, and then Dunne drags Trick out of the ring! Dunne CLUBS Trick, pump handles him, BITTER END to the floor!! The fans boo, Dunne shrugs, and Ethan laughs! This is truly a bitter end to tonight, but Ethan promises everyone that no one is taking this title from him! Will that be the case even as NXT moves to the CW? Or will the winds of change blow in the Windy City?

My Thoughts:

An awesome night for NXT here, and I am personally proud for predicting the match order. Also, I like that the kickoff show was basically able to do the same amount of interview promos in one hour as Bash In Berlin did in two. Anyway, NXT again returns to Black ‘n’ Gold levels of action for these events, and I appreciate that they open with the tag match. I sensed it on Tuesday that Ridge would turn with how Ridge worded his promise to Chase U, and here we are! In all fairness, I feel like they should’ve had one successful defense before this, then the CW premiere could’ve had this moment to really juice up the episode. But we’re giving other teams great opportunities now, except OTM because now Nima & Price aren’t facing Hank ‘n’ Tank…

Great match of Wes and Zach, and while Zach is now X Division Champion, I don’t think that was a deciding factor in the finish. Trey was of course going to get back in this story, so it was great for it to be here. And while Rascalz want the tag titles, I bet Wes comes back for revenge. He can screw Rascalz out of the tag title opportunity, then Wes and Zach run it back on a TNA show. Wes wins that, and we get a big NXTNA crossover show where they settle things once and for all. So then, if not Rascalz VS Fraxiom, maybe it’ll be Gallus? I feel like OTM might also go after Hank ‘n’ Tank to set up their own match.

Kelani retaining against Wendy Choo was a bit of a given, because she’s on the inaugural champion run. Tatum going after Wendy after the match was a bit “weekly TV” of a move, but I suppose we’ll get some great stuff from them. Kelani can face just about anyone next, and they’re probably taking their time to build someone up. I’m actually a little surprised Oba won out, but I’m very glad he won. No offense to Tony D, but when he wasn’t winning Heritage Cup matches with knockouts, I started getting annoyed and confused by the booking choices. At least here, Oba’s size and strength is used as a way to show Tony that his “moxie” wasn’t enough to see him through this time. Tony will surely have his crisis of confidence type story from here while Oba takes on more challengers.

Awesome showing from Jaida, as well as storytelling with the bad ribs. But in the end, it wasn’t skill but viciousness that wins out, as has been Roxie’s story. And then, as many fans were hoping for, it is Giulia that arrives to confront Roxie and set up a big title story going into the CW move. I would think that Giulia is the one that finally defeats Roxie and then Roxie moves on to RawDown. Still wondering how Stephanie Vaquer and Delta factor into things, but I’m sure they’ll also storm right up to the title scene when they arrive.

And then great stuff in the NXT Championship story. Good promos to help hype things up, and a great match overall. I figured there’d be shenanigans to protect Hendry’s loss, as he was not going to win here. Trick taking a “ref bump” and stopping the other ref was great, but then there was also the other ref taking a bump, and really good stuff to finish. Dunne going after Trick after the match was good, though I kinda thought it’d happen during. But anyway, that’s a decent play at the NXT trope of something happening right as the show is wrapping, and with Raw in Denver, maybe Trick calls out Dunne ahead of their match on NXT?

As for Ethan, he also has a number of people he can face now that we know he will defend the title for the CW premiere. I feel like the next month should be used to build contenders, maybe a mini-tournament, or maybe Trick VS Dunne is upgraded to a contender’s match. Though, Trick fighting his way through a tournament would be pretty cool, too.

My Score: 9/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Fuego Del Sol VS Wheeler Yuta!

Lucha night opens with a hot start as the Fire of the Sun returns to ROH, but so does The Decoder! Will Fuego Del Sol get one up on a former ROH Pure Champion turned current AEW World Trios Champion? Or will Yuta do the Death Riders proud in Houston?

Houston cheers on the Texas star, and Fuego offers the Code of Honor. Yuta reaches out, but then SLAPS Fuego! The fans boo and the bell rings, Yuta slips around to CLUB Fuego down! Yuta mocks the fans cheering on Fuego, then scoops him for a SLAM and SENTON! The fans boo but Yuta brings Fuego up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO, but Yuta holds onto the leg! Yuta taunts Fuego, but Fuego kicks at him! Yuta lets go and the fans rally up. Yuta runs up, Fuego ELBOWS him away, then goes up, up and FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up as Fuego then DROPKICKS Yuta down!

Yuta staggers up, Fuego SLAPS him! But Yuta LARIATS in return! The fans boo but Yuta rains down fists! And then stops, to rain down more fists! The fans boo but Yuta soaks that up while he “kicks dirt” on Fuego. Yuta stands Fuego up, CHOPS him, then has him in a corner. Yuta CHOPS Fuego again, the fans boo, but Yuta whips corner to corner hard! Fuego staggers forward, Yuta says they ain’t done yet. Yuta whips Fuego to the corner again, then FLAPJACKS on the rebound! Yuta adds a basement DROPKICK! The fans boo but Yuta soaks up heat. Yuta hits a spinning toehold, then has a DEATHLOCK!

Fuego endures and Yuta mockingly asks if he’ll give up. Fuego refuses to give in, and he SLAPS Yuta! So Yuta bridges and puts on more pressure! Yuta shows off by not even using his hands, but Fuego fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! Yuta lets go at 4, and he reminds the ref, “I have ’til five!” The fans boo Yuta parodying Bryan Danielson, then Yuta kicks Fuego around. Yuta eggs Fuego on, so Fuego ROCKS him! And ROCKS him! And again, and again, and again! But Yuta gets under the big haymaker! Yuta back suplexes, but Fuego lands out! Fuego dodges Yuta to then springboard QUEBRADA! Down goes Yuta!

The fans fire up as Fuego kips up and SUPERKICKS! Yuta sputters, Fuego runs and STEP-UP DOUBLE STOMPS! The fans fire up again as Fuego climbs a corner! Yuta stands, Fuego MISSILE- NO, Yuta gets under and comes back, BUSAIKU KNEE! Cover, Yuta wins!

Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall

Another thing he took from The American Dragon is that big knee, and Yuta takes the victory. Yuta sits Fuego up, and thinks about Hammer ‘n’ Anvil elbows, but he decides not to. Because he gets an even more sadistic idea! Yuta looks under the ring, and he brings out a steel chain! Yuta threatens the ref, then he goes to Fuego! The fans boo but Yuta hooks Fuego’s legs up, then uses the chain to go up, up and away, ROMERO SPECIAL!! Yuta taunts Fuego but Fuego is coughing up blood! Yuta lets Fuego go, the fans boo, but Yuta mockingly gives the Code of Honor handshake. Yuta no longer has honor, but will someone find a way to humble him?

Rachael Ellering VS Abadon!

The Queen of Strong Smile is feeling good being in Houston, ready to bring that Comet energy. However, she’s up against the Living Dead Girl, who brings a very different vibe. Will Rachael learn why everyone fears Abadon? Or will Rachael’s smile see her through?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, but uh, Abadon doesn’t let go. Rachael tries to get free, and now it is a tug-o-war. The fans rally, Rachael reels Abadon into a headlock, but Abadon BITES Rachael’s hand! The ref reprimands, Abadon lets go, and Abadon doesn’t get what’s wrong. Abadon runs up on Rachael but Rachael gets around to waistlock. Abadon switches, but Rachael goes to ropes to buck the O’Conner! Rachael CLOBBERS Abadon, but Abadon sits up! The fans rally, Rachael is frustrated, and then runs up. Abadon gets around, trips Rachael, then runs to basement dropkick! Rachael flounders to a corner and the fans rally again.

Abadon aims from a corner, runs in at Rachael, but Racahel ELBOWS Abadon away! Abadon says nuh-uh, comes back, but runs into a BOOT! Rachael runs and UPPERCUTS Abadon down! The fans fire up and Rachael aims from a corner. Rachael calls for the “SQUISH~!” and runs up, SENTON onto knees! Abadon avoids disaster and stalks Rachael to the apron. Abadon CLUBS Rachael, pushes her onto the apron, and springboards for a GUILLOTINE LEG DROP! The fans fire up and Abadon pushes Rachael into the ring. Abadon runs corner to corner for a METEORA! Abadon pushes Rachael to a cover, TWO!

Abadon is annoyed but brushes it off. Abadon drags Rachael up, but Rachael fights the suplex! Rachael wrenches out, trips Abadon, and high stacks, ONE!! Rachael ROCKS Abadon, then tries again. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up for the “MD Collapse” and Rachael aims again. SQUISH~ SENTON hits! Cover, TWO! Abadon survives and Rachael is a bit surprised. Rachael throws off the headband, double checks her teeth, and the fans duel. Rachael CHOPS Abadon at the ropes, then ROCKS Abadon with a forearm! Rachael whips but Abadon blocks! So Rachel CHOPS again! Rachael whips, Abadon grabs ropes, and laughs!

Rachael runs up, Abadon ELBOWS and CUTTERS! Then BLACK DAHLIA!! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall

Abadon continues to be terrifying, as well as victorious. Will the ROH Women’s Division, and especially the champions, have to watch their backs?

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

12 Man Tag: The Premier Athletes & The Frat House VS Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs!

Instead of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Tony Nese has the mic to tell Bobby Cruise to shut up, “no one wants to listen to your stupid voice.” Nese then tells the “fat boys and fat girls” of Houston, Nese & Daivari couldn’t think of a better partner for this match than an athlete that makes every single one of them put to shame! Yes, it’s SMART MARK himself! Wait, seriously? Sterling takes the mic to say that’s right, he is still here to make sure that the losers of Texas can take part in their winning cheer. So please, get this right. When he says, “Athletes,” you say, “Rule!” NOTHING ELSE! Hands in, boys. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Gottee!

But with that, Dante & Darius Martin enter, accompanied by Leila Grey. Then Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd enter, and last but not least, Texas’ own, Marshall & Ross Von Erich! The massive teams sort out, and Darius starts against Nese. The fans rally up and Darius circles with Nese. Nese says wait, wait! He knows what the fans are here to see. Nese flexes, but the fans boo. Nese shouts, “ATHLETES!” The fans respond, “SUCK!” Nese and Darius circle, but then Nese kicks low! Nese bumps Darius off buckles, then tags in Daivari. “We’ll show you who sucks!” Nese & Daivari fire hands in the corner while the fans boo.

The ref counts, The Premier Athletes stop, and they both shout, “ATHLETES!” Again, the fans say, “SUCK!” Daivari tags Griff and they mug Darius. Griff ROCKS Darius, has him in a corner, then whips corner to corner. Darius goes up and over, rolls and arm-drags, then he DROPKICKS! The fans cheer, and Darius whips Griff into Dante’s BOOT! Tag to Dante, Darius CHOPS, Dante trips Griff, and Darius adds DOUBLE STMOPS! Griff scrambles, tag to Jameson, but Dante arm-drags Jameson! Dante keeps the armlock, he tags in Ross, and Ross wrenches to a wristlock. Ross YANKS the arm, then tags Marshall.

The Von Erichs double whip Jameson, then Marshall sends Ross in, FLYING BOOT! FLYING LARIAT and then Marshall snapmares Jameson for Ross’s PENALTY KICK! STANDING MOONSAULT and Marshall covers, TWO! Marshall fires the fans up, then hauls Jameson up to headlock. Tag to Truth and he wrenches Jameson. The fans rally but Jameson fires hands! Jameson whips, Daivari gets a cheap shot in, but Truth DECKS Daivari! Only for Vance to CLOBBER Truth! The ref has to keep Truth’s team back, so he missed all that! Jameson stomps Truth, tags Vance, and Vance covers, TWO!

Vance ROCKS Truth, has him in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Daivari, he CHOPS Truth, then he tags Nese. The Premier Athletes mug Truth with haymaker after haymaker, but the ref is still too busy keeping Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs back! Nese drags Truth up, and he tags in Sterling!? The fans boo but Sterling gets to throw hands on Truth! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling drags Truth back, anchors a leg, and tags in Vance. Vance stomps Truth, tags Jameson, and Jameson tags Griff. Vance puts Truth in a corner, Griff sends Jameson in to LARIAT! Vance adds a BOOT, and then Griff BOOTS Truth down! Cover, TWO!

Griff tags Vance back in, they mug Truth, and Vance keeps Truth from the corner. Vance suplexes, covers, TWO! Truth stays in this but Vance stays on him with a chinlock. Truth endures, the fans rally up, and Truth stands. Truth fires body shots, but Vance CLUBS him! Vance whips, Truth ducks ‘n’ dodges, DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! The fans fire up again as Truth and Vance crawl. Truth pushes past Vance, but Leila has to get out of the way as The Premier Athletes & Frat House all run up! They all YANK Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs off the apron, leaving Truth stranded! But at least Truth’s team fights back!

The fans fire up, but Truth turns around into a BOOT! Truth ends up on the apron, Vance runs up, and Vance SPEARS Truth onto the entire cluster! The fans fire up as Vance drags Truth into the ring. Cover, TWO! The fans rally up as Truth stays in this. The teams regroup, Vance whips Truth to the corner, but Truth BOOTS back! Truth fires hands on everyone else, and then storms up, but Vance keeps him from his corner! Vance whips and catches Truth to a SLEEPER, but Truth hits a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up as Truth crawls! Leila coaches Truth, hot tag to Turbo! And to Sterling!? Sterling panics, he wants nothing to do with Turbo!

Jameson runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Griff runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Nese runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Daivari runs in, Turbo DECKS him! Turbo then scoops and SLAMS Nese! And he scoops and SLAMS Daivari! The fans fire up as Turbo ELBOWS Daivari in a corner, headlocks, BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO on The Premier Athletes! The fans are thunderous as Turbo flexes, but Sterling slithers in! Sterling CLUBS Turbo on the back, the fans boo, but Turbo just frowns and turns around. Sterling apologizes but Turbo grabs him by his shirt. Only for Jameson to get in and scoop SLAM Turbo! Jameson shouts, “Mark Sterling! You sonova b*tch!”

Jameson and Sterling look to parody the handshake, but Truth CLOBBERS Jameson! Sterling again apologizes, but Turbo stands back up! Sterling backs up into Turbo, panics, but Truth scoops Sterling! SLAM! The fans fire up as we get the real deal! Except Nese & Daivari get in! Wait, Marshall & Ross get them first, with DOUBLE IRON CLAWS! “Turbo Floyd! You sonova b*tch!” DOUBLE ELBOW DROP on Sterling! And then Sterling flounders up, into a scoop, but Griff & Vance get in! Top Flight DOUBLE SUPERKICK them back out! Truth runs, TOTAL RECALL!! Dante runs, Darius sets up, FLIGHT IN MOTION for Griff! Turbo covers Sterling, #TopVonRunners win!

Winners: Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs, by pinfall

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and that includes this win as the super team everybody loves stands tall! But with The Von Erichs holding gold with Dustin Rhodes, will The Sons of Texas soon be everyone’s top priority?

MXM Collection speaks.

ROH Media found Mansoor & Mason Madden after their loss at ROH Global Wars: Australia, but they still had their remodeled ROH World Tag title belt. As such, they act triumphant and victorious because they “successfully defended” their ROH World Tag Team Championship. Because as you can see, they still have the belt! Shoutout to Dustin Rhodes, he is a great fellow tag team champion, he really tested MXM. But then they ran away with this here title, and there is nothing anyone can say about it! Fingertip touch and MXM heads out, but they do know possession is NOT nine-tenths of the law in ROH, right?

Billie Starkz VS Hyan!

As if tensions weren’t already high between these two, Minion 400,237 & 3/4ths is being belittled because she lost to Harley Cameron on the Jericho Cruise while The Fallen Goddess is still ROH Women’s World Champion after beating Alex Windsor in Australia. The Athena World Tour returns home to Texas, but will Billie make “Boss” proud? Or will even disappointment be bigger in Texas?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, and the fans rally up for Hyan. Billie is annoyed, the two tie up, and Billie wrenches to a wristlock. Hyan cartwheels, wrenches to a wristlock, but Billie rolls, rolls back, then trips Hyan. Billie flexes, the fans are torn, but then Billie throws Hyan down by her hair! Billie talks smack on Hyan, Hyan runs up, but Billie dodges to waistlock and shove. Billie then bypasses Hyan to sunset flip. Hyan rolls through, but Billie basement ENZIGIRIS! Billie then drags Hyan up to waistlock. Hyan fires elbows, runs to ropes, but Billie holds on! Billie CLUBS Hyan’s arms from the ropes, to STRAITJACKET GERMAN!

Billie scowls, then she stalks Hyan to the corner. Billie stomps a mudhole in, but the ref counts. Billie tells him to back off! The fans boo, but Billie asks, “What do you want from me!?” Billie runs in, but Hyan dodges and Billie POSTS herself! The fans fire up, Hyan storms over, and Hyan brings Billie up to suplex high and hard! The fans fire up and Hyan feels that energy! Hyan runs to SPLASH in the corner! Hyan keeps moving, but Billie ELBOWS her away. And BOOTS her! Billie goes up, Hyan stops the boot, but not the rebound ENZIGIRI! Billie goes up top, leaps, but Hyan gets under! Hyan ELBOWS Billie, cravats to KNEE and KNEE SMASH!

Hyan hits a BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Billie stays in this, it’s why she’s the inaugural ROH Women’s TV Champion. But she sits up into a CHOP! Hyan CHOPS again, and again, but Billie blocks! Billie scowls, and then she ROCKS Hyan again and again! Billie has Hyan in the corner, fires more shots, but the ref counts. Billie stops at 4, then backs up just to run up, HEEL KICK! Billie then puts Hyan up top, Electric Chair Lifts, and she tucks Hyan in for a DRIVER!! Cover, Billie wins!

Winner: Billie Starkz, by pinfall

Well, if Kenny Omega uses a One Winged Angel, was that a Two Winged Angel? The bottom line is Billie is back in the win column, but will she ever fight her way out from under Athena’s tyranny?

ROH World Television Championship: Komander w/ Alex Abrahantes VS Lee Johnson w/ EJ Nduka!

After failing to finish the Proving Ground match in under ten minutes, the Commander of the Skies has owed Big Shotty this title shot. Will Komander get the job done now that there’s a thirty minute time limit? Or will Lee prove this is all too easy?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is really the star of ROH TV!

The Code of Honor is not upheld as Lee leaves Komander hanging. The bell rings, the fans rally for Komander, and the two circle. Lee chuckles, tells Houston to calm down and shut up, then he ties up with Komander. Lee arm-drags, but Komander holds on. They stand, Lee waistlocks, Komander switches, but Lee switches. They switch again and again, but then Lee headlocks. Komander headlocks, Lee slips out and hits a takeover. Komander headscissors, Lee kips free, and things speed up. Komander QUEBRADA but Lee dodges! Komander still headlocks for a takeover, Lee headscissors, and Komander kips free. The two stand off and the fans cheer.

Lee and Komander reset, circle again, and Lee mockingly applauds. Lee pie faces Komander and talks trash. Komander storms up but Lee pie faces him again! Lee goes for another, Komander blocks to CHOP, go up and up, but Lee yanks him down! Lee says Komander’s not gonna do lucha on him! But Komander CHOPS! And CHOPS! Komander goes up and up and jumps around, to FLYING ARM-DRAG! Lee tumbles out, EJ is there, but Komander builds speed! Komander rolls, slow-mo up and over to then RANA! EJ can’t believe it but the fans fire up! Komander puts Lee back in the ring, then he springboards, flying sunset flip! TWO!!

Lee escapes then bails out, and Komander keeps an eye on him. #LEE-J regroup and EJ coaches Lee up. Lee storms up to the apron, but Komander DROPKICKS him down! The fans fire up, Komander builds speed, but EJ stands in the way! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Lee slides in and CLOBBERS Komander! The ref says this is EJ’s last warning, but Lee says Komander is nothing! Cover, TWO! Lee is frustrated and he drags Komander up. Lee bumps Komander off buckles, then brings him around to fire body shots. The fans rally, the ref counts, but Lee stomps away on Komander. Lee digs his boots in, but steps off at 4.

Lee storms back up on Komander, brings him around, and whips him corner to corner hard! Komander bounces off buckles, Lee shouts, “You’re NOTHING!” Lee covers, TWO! Lee is frustrated, but he rains down fists! The fans rally with “SI SE PUEDES!” Lee hammers away, then lets off to talk trash. Lee drags Komander up, TOSSES him to the outside, and EJ stays back. Lee taunts Houston, the ref watches EJ closely, but The Judge defends his own innocence. Lee goes out the side to fetch Komander, and he CLUBS Komander down! Lee puts Komander in the ring, drags him up, and snapmares for a chinlock.

The fans boo Lee while Komander endures, but Lee says Komander is still nothing! Abrahantes rallies the fans for Komander, and Komander fights up to his feet! Komander throws body shots, but Lee wrangles Komander back down! “This is your guy? This is too easy!” The fans boo, then they rally back up. Komander rises, fires body shots and forearms, and he CHOPS! The fans fire up with Komander as he fires even more shots! Komander runs up at the corner, but Lee puts him on the apron! Komander BLINDSIDE LARIATS Lee! Komander goes up, but Lee goes out! Komander hops down, Lee SUPERKICKS him!

I’m starting to get real tired of the same questions. Why? I’m just getting started.” When and where will Red Velvet serve up another L fresh from the kitchen?

Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
