Trick Williams is here!

The fans are chanting for it, “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” Trick gets the mic and says he appreciates that, but he isn’t here to do talking. He’s here for one reason: Dunne started this, but he’ll finish this! Pete Dunne, bring your ass out here! But instead, we get Ethan Page. All Ego has them cut his music so he can tell Trick, “I am sooooo sorry that I’m not Pete Dunne. But I am NXT Champion, All Ego Ethan Page. But you know that, you were raising my hand this past Sunday at No Mercy.” And usually it is tradition that after a champion defends their title, they open the show. And that’s right, Trick only did that once!

The fans continue to sing “Ethan Sucks! Believe In Joe!” Trick finishes the line, put one some clothes and shut up! Trick is a man of his word, he called that title match down the middle. But don’t get comfy, Trick’s coming back for his title. For now, Trick has unfinished business with Dunne. Ethan laughs and says let’s go back a bit. Trick’s title? Really? Because Ethan thought he’d be defending his title in four weeks, the move to CW and in Chicago. That’s Ethan defending the title, not Trick. Ethan would be surprised if Trick even makes it to Chicago! Here comes Dunne! Trick dodges and fires haymakers! The brawl is on!

The fans fire up, security runs out here, and they back these two down! This match is meant for the main event! Will someone #FigureItOut?

Hank ‘n’ Tank walk ‘n’ talk.

They’ve called their shot, so now they gotta execute! Gallus, Rascalz, it don’t matter, it’ll be like a two-a-day in training! They hit first, they hit last, HONK HONK! But then Gallus steps in, and Markus says to save their breath. He and Wolfie are going to run through them and The Rascalz. If they want content for social media, come see them right now. Tank says fine, they’ll Fill Up The Tank right now! Refs rush in to stop this from turning into a fight, they gotta go to the ring. Jaida Parker walks by and says this is why she told her boys to stay out this mess. But then the Fatal Influence walk over and tell her she’s missing something.

Oh right, never mind, she LOST on Sunday. Jaida says at least she’s not riding the… clout of these two. Rawr, this kitty has claws. Jazmyn says she’s not clout chasing. And if Jaida’s ribs aren’t too broken, Jazmyn can prove it tonight. Fine, make sure to bring your two mommies with her. Miss Parker heads out, but will there be a major meltdown so soon after No Mercy?

Trey apologizes for interrupting, he just wanted to congratulate #Fraxiom on the win last Sunday. Axiom says yeah, this is a match everyone’s wanted to see. Zach says it is all love here. But don’t get it twisted, The Rascalz are gonna win next week, and take these tag titles to TNA!

Frazer says hey, hold on. Zach is on a roll, but c’mon, is changing partners really gonna change the outcome? Zach says at least his partner and him are on the same mindset. Can these two say the same? Oh, says the guy with a singles title! Frazer & Axiom head out, surely to game plan. Will they be ready for the energy Zach & Trey are bringing their way?

The D’Angelo Family talks backstage.

They all complain about Oba Femi beating up on Channing Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino during the title match on Sunday. But then hold up, Oba Femi himself walks in. Stacks says The Ruler’s got balls for walking over. Oba understands their frustrations. Oba knows it is very difficult for them to come to terms with the fact that their boss was no match for Oba. Oh please! Oba got lucky. He won at No Mercy, but The Don ain’t done. And Oba’s gonna part with that title real soon. Big words from such a small woman. In many cultures, the woman is meant to be seen, not heard. That’s it! Rizzo wants after Oba, but the boys keep her back!

Tony steps in and asks who Oba thinks he is! In Tony’s culture, you talk to a lady like that, and you get smacked in the mouth. Oba says maybe Tony should do something about it. Luca asks if that’s a challenge. Oba says you heard him. Tony has Luca stand down. Stacks will handle this. Stacks says you got it. Rizzo isn’t sure, but Tony knows The Underboss will handle this. No one talks to Rizzo like that and gets away with it. But given how Oba handled Tony, will he have no problem handling Tony’s right hand man?

Plus, why would Joe want to face Je’Von again? He’s really good, and even Logan Paul- Joe shouts, and asks if she’s finished. Mark says after Je’Von, Gallus comes for the Cup!

Oh, you want some of them? You think you can get your names on the Cup? Wren says Charles will- He stops Wren himself and says she’s new here. Gallus heads out and Charlie tells her to calm down. Stop just calling out everyone! She needs a convincing sales pitch. Take it in, think about it, and once that little head of hers is clear, then she makes a decision. Okay, got it. Will the Iron King crush the Young OG? Will he then look to rip that Cup out of Charlie’s grip?

Ridge Holland speaks.

“Chase University welcomed me in at my lowest point, restored my confidence, gave me a sense of belonging. So why destroy Mr. Chase? Put him in the hospital. Because they failed. We were champions! But Chase U did what Chase U does: Win the big one, but can’t keep it. I brought them all back to prominence! Look at everything I did for Chase U! New look, new classroom. You think Duke Hudson could’ve done what I did? All he did was criticize every move I made. Duke Hudson is a smug, arrogant, A-hole! And Riley, he’s no different. They got their big title match at NXT Heatwave, they accepted my help in getting there.

“But when it came time to go? ‘Sorry, Ridge, stay home.’ And they failed without me! I finally became a champion, and it got ripped away because of mediocrity. But now, NXT, you’re going to get the man that I fought so hard not to be. The step by step destruction of Chase U begins next week. And Thea, I’m going to love every second of it.” The Yorkshire Grit STOMPS the trophies apart, will he leave Chase U with absolutely nothing?

Brooks Jensen is backstage.

Shawn Spears walks over and says there’s something he wants to tell Jensen. When Edris & Malik viciously attacked Spears, Jensen was the first one there. Jensen basically saved Spears. And then what Jensen did for him, attacking Edris and beating Malik, Spears wants to say something people probably haven’t said to Jensen in a long time. “Thanks.” Spears means that. He has Jensen look him in the eyes as he says thanks. This whole time, Spears thought he was the one saving Jensen, but turns out Jensen’s the one saving Spears. Spears is committed to this! He won’t leave Jensen like everyone else has.

Jensen asks, then why does everyone think Spears is manipulating him? Spears says Jensen knows Spears doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. So what does Jensen believe? Think about it. Spears thanks Jensen again, then leaves. Dion Lennox walks by and says that is textbook psychological manipulation. What? Dion says this is a classic case of gaslighting, bro. Dion leaves, and we see Spears was still watching from afar. Will The Chair Man have to keep others from showing Jensen the truth?

Joe Coffey w/ Gallus VS Je’Von Evans!

The Iron King cheated the Young OG last time, but ya boi bouncy~, so he bounced back and made sure Joe didn’t cheat tonight’s Triple Threat tag. Will Je’Von be able to even the score? Or will Gallus make good on their promise to end Je’Von’s bright future before it begins?

But Cedric Alexander runs out there! Cedric CLOBBERS Mark, BOOTS Wolfgang, and now Joe wants after Cedric!

Cedric says that wasn’t him, what’s Joe talking about? Joe storms out, dares Cedric to try him, but then Je’Von FLIES! Je’Von takes out all of Gallus! The fans are thunderous, “Uncle Cedric” coaches Je’Von and Je’Von puts Joe in. Je’Von goes up, up and SKY TWISTER!! Cover, Je’Von wins!!

Winner: Je’Von Evans, by pinfall

Cedric also gets Je’Von out of there before Gallus can pounce! Will the Gallus Boys not be on top when numbers aren’t in their advantage?

Lyra and Tatum regroup backstage.

Tatum gushes over her “sweet dove” having returned! Tatum knew that one day Lyra would forgive Tatum and realize what they had was special! And nobody has Lyra’s back on Raw like Tatum did on NXT. Lyra says hold on, let’s review. The issue was that Tatum wouldn’t let Lyra have any other friends. And when Lyra told Tatum to make friends, she didn’t mean literally make… But the point is, Lyra knows they didn’t leave things on the best terms. Lyra said she’d never come back, but she just couldn’t help it. Tatum says it has been so lonely around here. Lyra says chin up, kid. Tatum has backup now.

And Lyra did realize, she’d rather be fighting alongside Tatum than against her. Let’s go show those weirdos just how weird Tatum really is! YES YES YES! But uh, could they maybe…? Yeah, okay. They hug it out again! Will Wendy & Rosemary be in for quite the fight now that the former NXT Women’s Champion is teamed with twisted Tatum?

Backstage interview with Ava Raine.

Sarah is with the NXT General Manager, and says tonight has been completely chaotic, what with Trick and Dunne brawling all night, not figuring anything out. How does Ava plan on settling things? Ava knows those two haven’t made it easy. The ref was just doing his job, but Ava is sure she speaks for the fans when she says there has to be a winner. So next week, Last Man Standing! And then whoever wins will face Ethan Page for the NXT Championship on October 1st! Sarah thanks Ava for her time. Will that massive golden opportunity be just the thing to #FigureItOut?

Oba Femi VS Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo w/ The D’Angelo Family!

The Ruler is still North American Champion, even after The Don pushed him further than just about any one opponent ever has. However, The D’Angelo Family isn’t letting him off the hook for his disrespect! Can the Underboss conquer the mountain that Tony could not? Or will Oba just add him to that long list of names?

NXT returns and The Family makes their entrance. The bell rings and Oba circles with Stacks. They approach, Stacks dodges and fires hands! Stacks knees low, whips, but Oba blocks to reverse! Oba runs up but stacks dodges to fire hands! Stacks climbs, rains down fists, but Oba stops him at two! Oba RAMS Stacks into a corner, then TOSSES him back the other way! Oba runs in, blocks a boot, and he short arm LARIATS! Oba looms over Stacks, drags him around, and drops a BIG elbow! And another BIG elbow! And then another BIG elbow! Cover, TWO! Tony coaches Stacks but Oba pushes Stacks around.

Oba clamps on a chinlock, and he grinds Stacks down. The Family rallies, as do the fans, and Stacks fights up. Stacks JAWBREAKERS free! Oba staggers, but he scoops Stacks. stacks slips free to ENZIGIRI! The fans fire up as Stacks DROPKICKS Oba out! Stacks goes to the apron, takes aim, but Oba CHOPS Stacks down! The fans fire up again and Oba tells Tony that he did this. Oba steps back in, stalks Stacks, then whips him to CLOBBER him! Oba drags Stacks up to whip and CLOBBER him again! Stacks writhes, the fans rally, and Oba hauls Stacks up again. Scoop and SLAM into the ropes! Stacks writhes, but Oba kicks him around.

Oba stomps Stacks’ legs, the ref counts, and Oba stares Tony down as he lets off. Oba drags Stacks by those legs, but Stacks works to roll Oba up! Oba stays up to stomp Stacks! But Stacks avoids the elbow drop! Stacks stands, Oba blocks a boot, but Stacks dodges the lariat! Oba hurries but Stacks elbows free! Stacks fires hands, but Oba choke grips! Stacks CHOPS, kicks a leg, fires more shots, and he’s free! Stacks BOOTS Oba, runs, POP-UP DROPKICK! The fans fire up as Stacks hurries up top! Stacks leaps but Oba gets under! The leg jams, Oba UPPERCUTS Stacks into a corner! Then Oba hauls Stacks up, SHOTPUT!

Oba fires up, the fans are with him, POP-UP POWERBOMB!! Cover, Oba wins!

Winner: Oba Femi, by pinfall

Tony stares Oba down, but that #FallFromGrace is on The Don. Will no one from anywhere ever truly take down The Ruler?

Brinley Reece talks with Karmen Petrovic backstage.

They both loved No Mercy. And both their favorite part was Giulia’s arrival. Mind blowing! Ashante THEE Adonis be creeping as Karmen asks how Edris is doing. Not good. Karmen heard he needed shoulder surgery after what Jensen did. Brin feels awful. And ever since then, Malik hasn’t talked to Brin. Ashante has a rose and says he feels so bad about what happened to Edris & Malik. But Adonisly, if she needs a shoulder to cry on, he’s right here for her. Um… Luckily, Eddy Thorpe steps in to say not to take anything from Adonis. Is this his new tactic? The ladies leave, and Adonis says look, it’s DJ Plutonic.

But hey, just because Eddy’s got no game, doesn’t mean he can mess with Ashante’s. So just let him do his thing, or he’ll get this work. Ashante leaves, still holding his rose. Will Ashante find some way to score? Or does he have to learn how to do things honestly rather than Adonisly?

Je’Von talks with NQCC.

The Young OG says this Cup is legit. Look at these names on here. He might put his name right around here. One day. Wren asks what makes him thinks he deserves a shot? Oh, well, one, he went pretty deep in that Speed Tournament last week. Two, he main-evented Heatwave in a banger Fatal 4. And three, he just spun the block on Joe Coffey. Oh, those are very compelling points. Does he have a fourth? Well, Wren’s cool, but this is starting to turn into a job interview with all these questions. He hasn’t really had a job other than this. Wren says she does feel he deserves a shot. Next week even? Yes, next week! Say less!

They shake hands, Je’Von heads out, and Wren tells Charles that she just gave Je’Von a Cup match, so he better get ready! W-What?! Why!? Well, she did what he told her to do! Told her what to do!? To ask contenders why they think they deserve a shot, hear their sales pitch, and then give it a second to sink in before deciding. She did, and Je’Von does. Charlie is beside himself. But this isn’t official, right? Wren didn’t speak to Ava yet? Well, no, but Je’Von’s probably on his way… Charlie throws a fit, shouts at Myles, and asks why he didn’t do anything! Myles takes out his earbud and asks what’s going on.

Charlie storms off, Wren says Je’Von thinks she’s cool. Okay… But if Wren’s getting Charlie into matches, is she also going to end up losing the NQCC that Cup?

Jaida Parker VS Jazmyn Nyx w/ The Fatal Influence!

While Miss Parker may not have won the NXT Women’s Championship, she got a lot closer than all three Fatal Influencers have combined! Will she show a fellow former soccer player that she can still kick ass, even with bad ribs? Or will the teachings of Jacy & Fallon help Jazmyn finally stand out in the ring?

NXT returns and Jaida makes her entrance. The bell rings and Jazmyn mocks Jaida over the taped ribs. The two tie up, Jazmyn headlocks, and she holds on tight as Jaida tries to suplex out. Jaida powers out, then she runs Jazmyn over! Jazmyn gets up in a huff, the two reset, and they tie up. Jazmyn knees low, then KICKS the legs! Jaida hobbles, Jazmyn whips, but Jaida reverses. Jaida CLOBBERS Jazmyn, “Too easy!” Jaida has Jazmyn in a corner, whips corner to corner, then runs up to back body block! The fans rally for Jaida as she whips again! Jazmyn comes back, but into a BACKDROP! Jaida runs up to cover, TWO!

Jaida snarls, clamps onto Jazmyn, scoops, but Jazmyn slips free to waistlock. Jaida bucks the O’Conner, but now Fallon distracts. The ref reprimands, but Jazmyn runs up! Jaida dodges but then the leg sweep trips her! Jazmyn keeps moving to PENALTY KICK! Jaida clutches her ribs and writhes, but Jazmyn kicks her more and more! Jazmyn stalks Jaida, Jaida body shots! And body shots! Jaida whips, Jazmyn reverses and CALF KICKS! Jaida again writhes but Jacy & Fallon cheer. Jazmyn boops Jaida, then runs to SOMERSAULT SENTON! Cover, TWO! Jaida toughs it out but Jazmyn clamps on the body scissor squeeze!

The fans rally, Jazmyn adds a crossface component, but Jaida endures. Jaida pries free, ELBOWS away, but Jazmyn squeezes tighter! Jaida shifts around, makes Jazmyn a backpack, and she powers Jazmyn into a fireman’s carry! Jazmyn fires elbows, slips free, and CLUBS Jaida in the back! Jazmyn runs, but into a fireman’s carry! SAMOAN DROP! The fans fire up as Jaida takes aim. Jaida ROCKS Jazmyn again and again, then CLOBBERS her! And LAIRTS! The fans fire up as Jaida scoops to SLAM! Jaida taunts Jacy & Fallon, then storms up to RAM Jazmyn! And RAMS her again! Jaida then puts Jazmyn in the ropes, to CHOP!

The fans fire up, Jaida blows a kiss, then TEARDROPS! the fans fire up as Jaida high steps, then she brings Jazmyn up. Jaida suplexes, but Jazmyn cradle counters! TWO! Jaida runs but Jazmyn trips her again! Jaida avoids the gamangiri, runs, blows past Jazmyn, then HIPNOTIC!! Cover, Jaida wins!

Winner: Jaida Parker, by pinfall

A big rebound win, but now Jacy & Fallon attack! The fans boo as Fatal Influence gets toxic! But Jaida fights back with big hands and big knees! But Jacy ROLLING ELBOWS! The fans boo as the mugging continues! They set Jaida up for Jazmyn’s PELE! Will Jacy, Jazmyn & Fallon continue to do what they want to who they want until the NXT Women’s Division is under the influence?

The NXT Women’s Division is watching.

Lola Vice says she’s so proud of Kelani Jordan for winning Sunday. The others agree, that was a great defense. But Izzi Dame is completely over all of that. But to what’s coming next, Kendal Grey asks Carlee Bright if she thinks you know who will be here tonight. Who knows, she has so much aura, it is something everyone wants to see. But The Fatal Influence walks in and Jacy mockingly asks, “Is the newbie gonna come out? O M G~!” She then says if someone wants to talk aura, look no further. This trio has all the aura. Lola says they’re just afraid of new competition. Fallon says no, they’re not afraid of girls who have been off PLEs.

Kelani says this is not what’s happening right now. She will not let these three poison the locker room with their toxicity. This is THE best women’s division, and it’s because of what they do in the ring, not in the back with their petty drama. Jacy says even as a champion, Kelani has a lot to learn. Count your days as champ, Kelani, because they’re numbered. Fatal Influence leaves the watch party, but will The Standout just have to humble them herself?

Duke Hudson tweets.

“Still processing everything that’s happened on Sunday, but wanted to say, Mr. Chase is still in the hospital. Now to watch Ridge in our classroom and breaking MY MVP trophy. Enough is enough. Next week, I get revenge for Thea, for Riley, and for Mr. Chase.” Duke is going after Ridge, who will stay standing after this clash of titans?

Roxanne Perez is here!

The Prodigy is still NXT Women’s Champion, and she struts her way to the ring, even as fans boo. She grabs the mic and says she’s sure they’re all so sick of seeing this scene, but she’s not! Yeah, yeah, Jaida slapped the taste out of Roxie’s mouth, but defeat tastes so much worse, doesn’t it? And she’s been handing out plates of it ever since she arrived here. Second all time in PLE matches. Second all time in PLE wins! Iyo Sky? Asuka? She’s smashing all their records! So let’s be honest: 99% of the women who have competed in this ring only dream of having the career she’s already had! Even the main roster can’t stop talking about her!

The fans boo, then they bring up “GIU~LIA~!” Roxie says y’know what, she’ll give Jaida some credit. At No Mercy, Jaida proved she is the future of NXT. The problem is, Roxie proved what she can’t be taught, reproduced, or touched! She is the most wanted woman in all of NXT! The fantasy match-up constant! Roxie VS X, Roxie VS Y, but when it comes to reality meeting fantasy, the results are always the same and they will never change! Like she said, no one has the ability to take this title from her! It doesn’t matter if you’re the hottest NXT Prospect, if you’re a former NXT Women’s Champion, or even if you’re the hottest free agent from Japan trying to steal Roxie’s shine!

Roxie promises us all that when the smoke clears, it will be her holding her title in the air. But then the lights go out! The fans fire up, because… It’s Chelsea Green!? The Hot Mess is back again, and she laughs at little Roxie. Was she expecting someone else? Rhetorical question! And another rhetorical question: Why does this section smell like mildew and BO? It’s called deodorant, people! Chelsea continues to the ring and says back to the speculation as to who “Miss Polly Pocket” will talk about and who interrupts her, yada yada. As we know, Chelsea is beloved by the WWE Universe! Well, sure is down in NXT.

Chelsea says she will do anything for her fans! Well, most of them, because most fans are creepy~! But regardless, here she is~, you little pint-sized champion! And nobody, and she repeats, nobody, not Sir Nicholas the Prickless, not Pinhead Pearce, and not even Ava, will tell Chelsea she is NOT the #1 contender! Wait, the lights go down again! And this time, it’s GIULIA~! The fans really go wild as the #BeautifulMadness has arrived! One of Stardom’s best takes her time walking around the ring before she steps up and in to be face to face with the champ. Chelsea yips and yaps at her, but that just gets her a FOREARM, and a KNEE!

The fans fire up as Giulia stands over the Hot Mess. Roxie is a bit annoyed seeing how easily Giulia did that. Giulia grabs the mic from Chelsea to tell Roxie, “Me, you, the CW.” The fans fire up as NXT’s next era is going to be insane! But will Roxie give in to the Beautiful Madness? Or can she keep her sanity as well as that championship?

My Thoughts:

Much like Raw last night, this was a great NXT to follow up No Mercy and build things for the coming weeks. Great stuff with Trick and Dunne right from the start, their constant brawling “forcing” their match to be sooner than the main event. It was a great match, and it was very clever to go with the double count out draw. They push this feud a little further, and now Trick VS Dunne in a Last Man Standing will be an awesome contender’s match. Dunne’s got two contenders matches in a row, and I have a feeling he isn’t winning either. Raw’s Fatal 4 will likely be won by Jey Uso so he can face Bron Breakker, and I would think Trick wins so he and Ethan can headline the CW premiere.

Great promos leading into the Triple Threat Tag match. I really like that it was the Triple Threat with all teams active at once, it kept things moving. Great overbooking, as of course Good Brothers weren’t going to let Hank ‘n’ Tank get their shot, and Je’Von still needed to settle things with Joe Coffey. Rascalz VS Fraxiom will be awesome, but I’m pretty sure Fraxiom retains. It might be because Wes Lee interferes, it might just be a clean match and the NXT Superstars keep the NXT titles. But I would think Wes shows up next week, goes after The Rascalz, and that sets up Wes VS Zach 2, or even Wes VS Trey, for a big TNA show.

Great match from Je’Von and Joe Coffey, even with Gallus being a concern, but logical move for Cedric to go out there. But instead of setting up a tag match, Je’Von goes back to the Heritage Cup. Wren Sinclair is really finding herself in this position, she’s very funny, and Dempsey VS Je’Von will be a really fun Heritage Cup match. I feel like Gallus will cost Je’Von and maybe then we get Je’Von & Cedric VS Gallus. Good promo from Jensen with Spears and Dion, as well as a good promo from Brinley, Karmen, Ashante and Eddy. Matches being set up all over while interweaving stories, and while Spears’ arm is in a sling, he probably uses Jensen as his metaphorical right hand to beat up people Spears says are against Jensen.

A very good but very quick match from Lexis and Oro. Lexis crossing the line with what he said, then cheating to win, we’re definitely getting a rematch that goes for longer, Oro wins, and then we’ll do a stipulation match blowoff, much like all of Lexis’s other feuds. I was surprised Rosemary returned just to lose another match, but Rosemary and Wendy beating up Tatum to bring out Lyra was a big surprise. Lyra only just came back to Raw to add to the story with Pure Fusion Collective, but I guess they want Lyra to help Tatum push past this story with Wendy so that Tatum can move up towards some other title opportunity.

Good promo with Oba and the D’Angelo Family, and very good match for Stacks against Oba, but of course Oba beat Stacks. He probably beats Luca in another match in the next couple of weeks, and then who knows, Tony probably goes for his own rematch with Oba for the CW premiere or something, and chances are, Tony wins there because there are still plenty of Tony D fans. Good promo from Jordynne Grace to set up a TNA Knockouts Championship match, can’t wait to see who tries her. They surely won’t win, TNA titles staying with TNA like NXT titles staying with NXT. Very good promo from Ridge, and good tweet response from Duke, they’re going to have an awesome match.

Very good match from Jaida with Jazmyn, and great spot for it to be the main event match. Solid win for Jaida, but of course Fatal Influence attacks. And with the promo backstage, it feels like Jaida might be joining forces with Kelani and Lola against Jacy, Jazmyn & Fallon. To be fair, she would’ve also been a good choice joining Lash & Jakara but then stories pivoted. Even so, Lola and Kelani also fit the part of superstars Fatal Influence hate, i.e. those that came from other sports instead of being pro-wrestlers from the start. And with it being Lola, Jaida & Kelani, there’s a good chance they win, but we could also see Fatal Influence cheat and get a pin on Kelani to set up a title match.

And speaking of the women’s division and titles, great promo from Roxanne, and great interruption swerve with Chelsea showing up. But yeah, Giulia of course still showed up. Chelsea was basically brought out so Giulia could hit someone and still stare Roxie down to stake her claim. Giulia probably also faces Chelsea 1v1 and wins to give fans a sample of what she can do before the title match. And between it being the CW premiere and Roxie already having put in a great reign as a Heel, I would be very surprised if Giulia didn’t win. New era, new champion, and Roxie moving on to RawDown, it just makes sense.

My Score: 8.8/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

The fans boo, Sammy flops out of the ring, but Fuego steps up! Fuego runs, slips through a tilt-o-whirl, but Hechi victory rolls, only to stand up and INVERTED MONKEY FLIP Fuego into a LEG SCISSOR NELSON! But that’s not all, Hechi makes it a ROLLING CRADLE! They go around and around and around, into the cover! Team Hechi wins!!

Winners: Hechicero, Barbaro Cavernario & Soberano Jr, by pinfall

Give an assist to MXM as they celebrate their part to play in this victory. They even get Hechicero to touch fingertips with him! But then they aim at Sammy! Only for Fuego y Panther to get back in! MXM flips the belt around to swing on them! Fuego y Panther dodge, and they DOUBLE DROPKICK MXM out! The fans cheer, but Sammy, Fuego & Panther grab Mansoor! Mansoor says save yourself! He lets the belt go, Sammy has Mansoor in the torture rack! GO TO HOSPITAL!! Mason shouts, “NOOO~!” but he keeps the title belt away from Sammy. Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
