PLAY BY PLAY

The Crown Jewel Championship arrives.

The attendants bring the belt into the building here in Brooklyn, ahead of THE Crown Jewel event. The American Nightmare and Der Ring General will be face-to-face later tonight, will they fire off before their big champion VS champion match in Saudi Arabia?

Randy Orton heads to gorilla.

The Viper gets his music, but he makes sure to check with Triple H first. Orton is telling The Game something but The Game says save it for later, he’s gotta make his entrance. Orton heads out on stage and the fans cheer! They sing Voices as Orton goes to the ring, and he grabs himself a mic. Orton says he’s been doing everything he can to get his hands on Kevin Owens for Crown Jewel. Orton also quickly thanks Brooklyn for the cheers. But for some reason, Kevin is off limits! Orton asked Nick Aldis last week, and Aldis said it is above his paygrade. Orton said that he knew then who he needed to talk to, and that man is backstage.

So Orton asks here and now, Triple H, please sir, come on down! Because if Orton didn’t know any better, he would swear to God that Triple H was protecting Kevin from Orton! The fans boo that idea, but here comes Triple H! HHH has a mic and says he would’ve preferred not to do this out here, but since Orton seems to never show up on time, an issue they can also talk about later, seems they’ll do this now. Orton knows that HHH is protecting Kevin. He knows it, HHH knows it, the fans know it! And of course Kevin knows it! HHH says he is not protecting Kevin, but he is trying to do his job. Orton says HHH has a soft spot for Kevin, Orton gets it.

Kevin used to be likeable, but HHH is protecting the guy. Just admit it! HHH again says he is not. The match Orton wants is not going to happen. Because he’s protecting Kevin? HHH says it is not going to happen, Orton says it’s because HHH is protecting Kevin, repeat. Just admit it! Then it’ll be fine and- HHH says he is not protecting Kevin, he is protecting ORTON. The fans gasp and Orton isn’t sure what to make of that. The fans cheer Randy on as he leans back against ropes. HHH says he’s known Orton since he walked in here, and same for Kevin. Kevin wanted to be The Prizefighter because it was only about business, and that was true.

Kevin has never had a friend in this business. No matter what he has said or who he has been around, it was always just, so long as Kevin could get something where no one was in his way. If they were in his way, he’d take them down, and Orton knows what that’s like. And for the first time ever, Kevin let his guard down. Kevin trusted Orton and he trusted Cody. HHH isn’t sure if Kevin sees the good he wants to be in Cody, or sees the “miserable p*ick” he doesn’t wanna be in Orton, who knows. but whatever this is, Kevin liked Cody and Randy. And in Kevin’s mind, they were the ones who turned on him.

HHH is telling Orton now, after speaking with Kevin, there is something “disconnected” in Kevin. He is not the same man he was before, and quite frankly, HHH doesn’t want Kevin int he ring with Orton. Oh, so HHH is protecting Orton? HHH says take this with all due respect: Orton came back after 18 MONTHS on the shelf. Orton didn’t tear an ACL or blow a shoulder out. Orton had steel rods put in his back! The doctors weren’t sure he’d ever wrestle again and yet here Randy is, and Randy just got back. HHH does not want Orton to go back on the shelf. HHH tells Orton he does NOT want to see Orton go back on the shelf permanently.

Orton says that won’t happen. So stop all this. Orton did not ask “Paul Levesque” to come out here. Orton did not ask the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company in a suit to come out here. Orton wanted the Cerebral Assassin, The Game, the man who wore a leather jacket to the ring and brought a sledgehammer to the ring. The man who once went to Orton’s home, busted the door down, threw Orton out of his own dining room window, and proceeded to built the hell out of Orton’s miserable ass right there on the lawn. THAT is who Orton wants to hear him out! What would HHH do if he was in Orton’s shoes?

Orton knows HHH wouldn’t let this slide! And this isn’t the old Orton being impulsive. This is Orton talking to HHH man to man. Orton knows what is at stake more than anybody! Just like more than anybody, HHH knows what it is like to have all of this taken away from him in an instant. If HHH was in Orton’s shoes, he would not let this go. HHH would do what he and Orton have always done, and that is handle business the only way they know how: right in the middle of this ring! The fans cheer that! Orton wants Kevin at Crown Jewel, please! The fans chant “LET THEM FIGHT!” and Orton fires up with it.

HHH thinks on it, and the chanting just gets more fired up. HHH says, “I hope to God you all know what you’re asking for. You want Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel? You got him!” The fans cheer but HHH tells Randy, from this moment forward, protect yourself at all times. The Game is going to let the Apex Predator play with fire, but will he get burned? Or can Orton RKO KO outta nowhere?

SmackDown hears from Andrade and Carmelo Hayes.

Ahead of their final showdown, both men sent a message to the other. This is Game 7, and the most important of them all. Three months, Melo feels it was Andrade chasing clout off H1M, thinking he’s better than Melo. But guess what? Andrade is not. Andrade says like every match in this series, he will show you that El Idolo is the best. But it won’t just be them 1v1 this time, as The Mega Star becomes The Mega Ref. Andrade fights free, the forearms start flying between him and Melo! Andrade then ELBOWS Melo down!

Andrade blocks Melo’s kick to DRAGON SCREW! Melo is up fast, but Andrade dodges to FLYING FOREARM! Both men are down, Knight checks them both, and they’re okay to continue so a standing count starts. Andrade kips up at 5 of 10! Andrade soaks up the cheers, then rallies the fans. SmackDown returns to single picture as Andrade goes corner to corner. Melo moves, Andrade hits buckles! Melo ELBOWS Andrade, runs to ropes, but Andrade follows! Andrade goes up to join Melo this time, INVERTED SPANISH FLY! Both men are down again and the fans fire up! Knight starts the standing count, “YEAH!”

But then Knight YANKS Melo out, to SMACK him off the desk!

The fans fire up and Knight storms into the ring. Knight and Andrade argue about what happened, Andrade swings on Knight! Knight dodges to kick low and B F T!! The fans are torn, but here comes Melo! Knight kicks him, too! B F T!! Knight is the only one standing, so he goes to the timekeeper. Knight rings the bell himself then takes a mic. “To hell with Game 7! I’ll tell you what this is! I’ll tell you exactly what this is! With a pile of losers in that ring, there is only one man, only one man who is still the United States Champion! The winner of Game 7, with everybody saying…” “L! A! KNIGHT! YEAH!!”

The Mega Ref was impartial until he got hit in the face. But then what are we to do about Knight’s next challenger?

Nia Jax talks with Tiffany Stratton backstage.

The Queen checks in with Miss Money in the Bank and hopes she enjoyed her “vacation.” Tiff says if she could’ve been here last week, she would have. But she’s here now, and whatever Nia needs, Tiff can get her. Well, Nia can’t get Naomi off her back. Nia did need someone to face Naomi tonight- Tiff will do it! And Tiff promises, when she’s done with Naomi, she will never bother Nia ever again. Nia says that’s sweet, but she already found someone. Candice LeRae really stepped up last week, she pinned Bayley, something Tiff still hasn’t done. Tiff tries to make an excuse but in steps Candice & Indi.

Nia says good timing, they were just talking about her. Candice says she will take care of Naomi for Nia, and Tiffy can just… relax. Nia agrees, we don’t want more Tiffy Sniffles. Nia heads out with Candice & Indi, is Miss MITB in trouble of being replaced?

Nick Aldis finds LA Knight.

The SmackDown General Manager asks Knight what the hell was that, and Knight says Aldis already knows what the hell that was. Knight said himself had no business being out there, but here’s the thing- Aldis stops Knight and says no, here is the thing! Knight better keep his hands to himself next time. Knight wants to be the center of attention? Fine, because now it’ll be a Triple Threat! At Crown Jewel! The Mega Star will have to deal with double the trouble, but will he come out double the winner in Saudi Arabia? Or will there be a new champion one way or another?

Candice LeRae w/ Indi Hartwell VS Naomi!

The Poison Pixie did help out The Queen of the Ring in that tag match last week, checking off The Role Model. But now, will she #FeelTheGlow? Or will the WWE Women’s Speed Champion find the way to win two weeks in a row?

Cody Rhodes is here!

Brooklyn fires up for The American Nightmare, and they sing along with his song, “WHOA~ OH~!” The Undisputed WWE Champion gets his pyro and high-fives fans, and even signs autographs and gives hugs. Cody goes to the ring, the Crown Jewel Championship shining on a pedestal, but then Gunther makes his entrance to interrupt the second “WHOA~ OH!” The fans boo as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his entrance, but he does at least shake hands with the one young fan cosplaying the Cody WrestleMania gear. Gunther joins Cody in the ring, and each man grabs a mic while the fans cheer.

Gunther speaks first, “So Cody… What do you want to talk about?” Gunther grins as fans boo because we know he’s copying Cody. Cody does say that he would say it is fairly obvious, because he asked Gunther last week, Gunther accepted the invitation, and Cody wants to know why Gunther wants to leave Crown Jewel as champion. Gunther says he is only here because Cody wants to know why, but Gunther wants to talk about Cody first. It was completely unnecessary for Cody to mention his daughter last week. This CJ Championship has nothing to do with her, and everything to do with a Champion VS Champion match at Crown Jewel.

So let’s find out who the better champion out of the two of them is. The fans cheer for Cody, but Gunther says he doesn’t understand. Every single time, Cody drags the people closest to him into his business. Just look at WrestleMania 40. He fulfilled his story, and it is all for the legacy of Dusty Rhodes. The fans cheer that, but Gunther says Cody wants to be WWE’s quarterback. he wants the John Cena schedule, just to live up to someone else’s standards. What Gunther thinks is that Cody is only doing this to make things a little more dramatic than they really are. Gunther will be fully honest now.

Gunther’s reason why is himself. Gunther is the greatest wrestler in this company right now! So Gunther’s reason for all of this is to live up to his own expectations! Now Cody, do Gunther a favor, and imagine all the people here not being in the building. It is just Gunther and Cody, and give Cody that honesty back. What is the real reason why for Cody, if there is any. Cody says for a men so well educated and so well dressed in that nice suit, Cody admits that is the dumbest question that has ever been asked of Cody in a wrestling ring. The fans cheer, and Cody says Gunther wants to strip away the veneer, see what is behind Cody. He’s not the only one!

But then Gunther says take everyone in the crowd out of this? Newsflash, brother, none of this exists without all of them! The fans cheer that! Cody says Gunther had the nerve to take away a “Whoa!” Time to give it to Gunther! Let’s do it, Brooklyn. One, two, three, “WHOA~ OH~!” And “dramatic,” huh? Has Gunther seen Cody’s family? Damn right Cody is dramatic! They don’t call the fans “Cody Crybabies” for nothing! They’re badasses, too! They are proud to be dramatic, they are proud to be messy! But question to Gunther: where was Gunther yesterday? The day before that even? Because Cody was at Allegiant Stadium talking up WrestleMania 41.

Cody was making media rounds, doing everything asked of him. But Gunther couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed, could he? All that prestige, how good he looks with the world title, Gunther has part of this down. The part he’s missing is the giant responsibility that comes with it! Responsibility? Gunther says look at the title. Gunther is the WORKHORSE champion of this company! He knows everything about responsibility! Fans are torn, but Gunther says doesn’t Cody think Gunther gets the same requests as Cody does? The difference is, Gunther says no. Gunther has the guts to say no! Gunther has the guts to say no to the boss! To the media! To the charities!

And Gunther especially has the guts to say no to all the fans. The fans boo, but Gunther says the reason Cody doesn’t say no, the reason Cody doesn’t put himself first, is because if Cody stops being the servant of everyone else, his little story is OVER. The fans boo more but Gunther says all that makes Cody into is a gutless champion. And a gutless champion will always be secondary to GUNTHER. Cody says what do they say about Gunther? Der Ring General, is that it? A Ring General cuz he’s 6’4″, 250 pounds, terrorizing the planet long before he was “Gunther.” But Cody does not see a general. Gunther commands no one, leads no one but himself.

And we wanna talk guts? All Cody has done his whole career is built on guts! The path less traveled is paved with his guts! You wanna know about guts? Guts is ending a civil discussion like this to take the first shot! Kick and RHODES UPPERCUT! The fans fire up as Cody fires hands and stomps! But here comes Ludwig Kaiser! Cody DECKS Kaiser, fires hands, but Gunther grabs Cody! Kaiser winds up to BODY SHOT! Kaiser shoves Cody down, then Gunther winds up, to LARIAT Cody down! But here comes Orton! The Viper still has Cody’s back, and that sends Imperium running! Orton picks up the Undisputed Championship, and hands it to Cody.

The fans cheer as Orton and Cody stand their ground. What will happen when champion and champion collide for the Crown Jewel title?

Damage CTRL, Meta Four and Chelsea & Piper wait in Aldis’ office.

The three teams are squabbling, but the three GMs are there, too. Ava Raine has everyone calm down, and now the StrongEST Duo, Bianca & Jade, arrive. Ava has a big announcement. Pearce says since all these teams have been at each other’s throats for weeks now, the three GMs have created a great solution to nip this in the bud. Aldis tells the champs that at Crown Jewel, they will be defending their titles against all three teams in a Fatal 4 Way! Everyone is excited for that! Bianca & Jade says they did this, and they stay ready so they don’t have to get ready. All these ladies wanna shoot their shots, so they better come correct.

The StrongEST Duo heads out, the challenger teams are ready, but which way will this one go when the odds are in no one’s favor?

Ciampa stomps away on Shelley, and he’s all fired up! DIY applaud themselves while the fans cheer, and then Ciampa CHOPS Sabin, right as SmackDown goes to break!

SmackDown returns and Shelley fights against Ciampa’s facelock. The fans rally as Shelley heads for the MCMG corner, but Ciampa DECKS Sabin! But then Shelley hip tosses Ciampa! No Sabin to tag, but Ciampa tags Gargano! Gargano runs up, Shelley BOOTS him! Ciampa runs up, Shelley BOOTS him! Sabin is back and he tags in! Sabin DOUBLE CROSSBODIES DIY! The fans fire up as Sabin fires hands and CHOPS on DIY! Sabin runs, but has to duck a double lariat! Sabin sends Ciampa into Gargano, SOBATS Ciampa, then kicks Gargano to TORNADO DDT Ciampa! The fans fire up and Sabin nruns in to ELBOW Gargano!

Tag to Shelley, he and Sabin run up to RAM & ELBOW! Ciampa runs up, MCMG dodge to kick, kick and KICK SANDWICH! Ciampa sputters, Shelley stacks Gargano on top of him! Sabin goes up, leaps, MISSILE DROPKICK FLATLINER COMBO! Cover, TWO!! The fans fire up but Shelley grows frustrated. “This is Awesome!” as Shelley tags Sabin. Winners: Motor City Machine Guns, by pinfall (NEW #1 Contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships)

In just two matches, Shelley & Sabin have gone from hottest new signees to hottest new contenders! DIY falls short again, what will it take for them to return to the top? As for MCMG, will they grow their impressive list of accolades with those WWE Tag Team Championships?

Wait, wait, wait. Speaking of those championships, The Bloodline is here! Solo Sikoa leads the way for Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. They head to the ring but MCMG is standing their ground. We see if things pop off, after the break.

SmackDown returns and…

Nick Aldis has joined everyone in the ring. He tells Solo & The Bloodline that while the tag title match is set, it isn’t going down tonight. Solo says they’re good, they’re alright. There is no problem here. The fans chant “O T C! O T C!” and Solo scowls. He tells Brooklyn to shut their mouths, but they boo instead. Solo says he was just coming out here to introduce themselves to the new #1 contenders. The fans boo more, Solo again tells them to shut their mouths. Before Solo gets started, “Brooklyn, New York… ACKNOWLEDGE ME.” The fans just boo more. Solo welcomes MCMG to SmackDown, this is The Bloodline.

And Solo is YOUR Tribal Chief! The fans still chant “O T C! O T C!” Sabin has a mic to say, “Well, it’s an honor to meet you, Mr. Tribal Chief. And since we’re doing introductions, allow me to introduce us. I’m Chris Sabin, and this is Alex Shelley, the Motor City Machine Guns, now the #1 contenders to those WWE Tag Team Championships.” The fans cheer that. Sabin says they are always ready, so whenever The Bloodline wants to hand over the championships, just let them know. They’re down for any place, any time. Solo mocks Sabin and says that’s funny. Any place and any time?

Well, since they’re new to SmackDown and they wanna make an impact here… How about a tag team title match right here and now in Brooklyn? The fans cheer, Aldis says no, these two have fought, sacrificed, and given everything to this business for over 20 YEARS. Aldis will be damned if he will let them get their earned and fair title shot when they’re nowhere near 100%. But Shelley says no, no, Nick, stop. They’ve known Aldis a long time, and he knows more than anyone else what MCMG has put into this industry. Those belts, those are the most important titles on this planet! So if Bloodline wants it right here, right now… THEY’VE GOT IT!

The fans fire up as MCMG wants their shot here tonight! Aldis asks if that’s what they really want… And it’s what the fans want, then let’s get a referee! It’s official! The fans fire up, but is going back-to-back against top tier teams really the smart thing to do?

WWE Tag Team Championships: The Guerrillas of Destiny w/ The Bloodline VS Motor City Machine Guns!

Solo & Jacob hurry out of the way as the ref raises the belts. The fans fire up, but will Tama & Loa take advantage of Shelley & Sabin? Or is there more ammo inside these Motor City Machine Guns?

The bell rings and the teams just brawl! The fans fire up but the Guerrillas have the edge. They whip, but MCMG stop themselves! MCMG DUMP out the champs, to then WRECK them with dropkicks! MCMG keep moving, but the Guerillas slide in! DROPKICK from Tama to Shelley, LARIAT from Loa to Sabin! The fans boo but SmackDown goes picture in picture.

Tama fires hands on Shelley, then HEADBUTTS him down! Tama drags Shelley back up, snap suplexes, then covers, TWO! Loa takes Sabin out on the outside, right behind the ref’s back! Tama goes up, as does Loa, and they DOUBLE DIVING FLOP as Shelley moves! Shelley crawls but Solo gets on the apron to shout at Tama & Loa! Solo wants them to get up, but someone in a hoodie drags Solo down! They SMACK Solo off steps, and surprise! It is HIM, Big Jim Uso! The fans fire up, and Jimmy SUPERKICKS Jacob! But Solo CLUBS Jimmy from behind! Solo POSTS Jimmy! Jacob & Solo beat up on Jimmy but here comes THE OTC!

Brooklyn goes nuts because yes, here comes Roman Reigns! Solo & Jacob move to intercept, but Roman SUPERMAN PUNCHES the Samoan Werewolf! Roman then dodges Solo, and Jimmy runs up to UPPERCUT! Roman & Jimmy brawl with Jacob & Solo up the ramp and take this to the back! Now things are fair in the ring as Shelley hot tags Sabin! Sabin fires hands on Tama! Sabin whips, Tama reverses, but Sabin goes up and out! Sabin blocks Tama to ROCK Tama! Sabin climbs, MISSILE DROPKICK! Tama tumbles, the fans fire up, and Sabin runs in, but the ref is used as a shield!

The fans boo but Loa is in to SPINEBUSTER Sabin! The Guerrillas take advantage of no ref by grabbing some chairs! The fans boo but Loa slides one chair to Tama. Wait, another man in a hoodie is here! SUPERKICK for Loa!! And the fans are thunderous as they YEET Loa over the desk! Yes, it’s Jey Uso! Tama then runs up, but Jey SUPERKICKS! And he JAMS Tama with a chair! And SMACKS him with it! And then SPEAR! Jey finally takes off the hood to reveal it is indeed the Main Event Uce! MCMG get Tama up, SKULL & BONES!! Cover, MCMG WINS!!!

Winners: The Motor City Machine Guns, by pinfall (NEW WWE Tag Team Champions)

The Prodigal Uce returns to SmackDown, and he gets payback on Solo’s Bloodline for screwing him out of a title! MCMG win gold in just THREE matches!! And as MCMG heads out, the fans “YEET!” while Jimmy makes his way back to ringside. Uso spots Uso and vice-versa, and the fans chant for the “USOS! USOS!” Jimmy steps into the ring to be face to face with his brother. They HUG IT OUT! The fans are thunderous for this Uso reunion! Roman returns now, seeing his cousins embrace. What does the OTC say about this? Will he give in and YEET? Or will it take time to get Roman to feel that Ucey?

My Thoughts:

A great SmackDown with an awesome ending, I did not think they’d do what they did in the main event. But first, I  did figure they would do what they did with Andrade VS Melo. Knight as a ref was good, he was on point, but of course things got chippy, things got all chaotic, and Knight takes his frustrations out on both Andrade and Melo. No one contender, it is now two, Triple Threat for Crown Jewel is going to be great stuff. Likewise, so glad my idea of a Fatal 4 Way for the Women’s Tag Team Championships is happening. Bianca & Jade only lost in a Triple Threat because someone else got pinned, now we raise the ante to see if they can survive this.

Very good promo from Orton with HHH to set up Orton VS Kevin, and I like that Orton referenced that one feud of his and HHH when Orton was himself a ruthless Heel. HHH also did a good job selling that this Heel Kevin is going to be the meanest, most ruthless Kevin ever because in Kevin’s mind, he’s lost everything. No title, no friends, no more trusting anyone, #JustKeepFighting. As such, perhaps Kevin wins because then Kevin can go after Cody for a rematch in a No Disqualification type match. That is Cody’s pattern, after all, from Rollins to Nakamura to Styles. Granted, I don’t see Kevin winning that, the same as Rollins, Nakamura and Styles, but it’ll be awesome.

And speaking of Cody, he and Gunther had a good promo segment, even though their dialogue was just remixing what they’ve said before. The brawl was better, especially with Kaiser joining Gunther and then Orton helping Cody. That’s obviously a tag match right there for the go-home, and while Kaiser is surely taking the loss, the match gives Kevin an opening to go after Orton. That tag match will give a good idea of the go-home math, but even then, Cody VS Gunther could really go either way.

Really good stuff in the WWE Women’s Championship story. Tiffany is certainly in danger of being replaced as Nia’s sidekick with Candice & Indi hanging around now. Very good match from Candice VS Naomi, even with Indi getting involved to bring Bayley out. Naomi will definitely challenge Nia on the other side of Crown Jewel, but I feel like we could see Naomi & Bayley VS Candice & Indi first. And with Tiffany continuing to be pushed around by Nia, you can bet Tiffany will go through with her cash-in next time, end up Face against Nia and the fans will love it.

Finally, the great surprise of the night was the tag title scene. MCMG VS DIY was a great match, but what else did we expect from those two teams? Great win for MCMG, who knows where DIY goes from here. Break up again so that one can go after the US or even Undisputed Championship? Maybe. HHH & HBK did such a great job with that in NXT, they could surely give us a great sequel here. As for MCMG, them going for the tag titles tonight was a great surprise, and it was the perfect way to set up more Bloodline story. Jey of course had to help cost Tama & Loa those titles, no more titles held hostage by Bloodline.

Jey and Jimmy hugging it out was so awesome to see, as was Roman being uncertain. I’m a bit paranoid about a TV network cutting off the ending, but I don’t think that happened this time. Roman being conflicted one more week is the right move, it gives more time to tell the story of Roman changing his mind and accepting Jey as an equal. This will go to Survivor Series WarGames in a month from now, Bloodline: Civil War, Roman’s side just needs one more person to be 4v4 with Solo’s team, and we can only hope it’s Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn.

My Score: 8.9/10

Andrew’s TNA LIVE! iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.20.2025

So the first live episode got fairly positive praise from everyone; will this continue the trend?

Published

on

Filming at Full Sail seems to have set the stage nicely this week! Going into a Live episode we got Moose and The Hardy Boyz on NXT, as well as Jordynne Grace’s involvement with Steph and Giulia giving a little shine to TNA happenings since she’s newly WWE.

This episode should be interesting, we finally see Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li) back in action, Rascalz take on Tyson and Tyriek, Tessa should be seeing some action as well…so generally interesting happenings for the second Live iMPACT! of 2025. Let’s see how this one goes down!

Ratings:

  • Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin: Rascalz win via Meteora/Swanton Combo – ***
  • Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary: Lei wins via Thunderstruck – **
  • NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC: Dango wins via The System help – ** 3/4
  • Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore: Masha wins via Requiem – N/A
  • Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons: Elijah wins via Tombstone Piledriver – *** 1/4

Results:

Oh yeah, and another Hendry concert is…cut off by a commercial, LOLTNA. First Hendry is cut off by AXSTV’s new Anime Hour bumper, and now Primo and Epico are showing up in TNA. I definitely didn’t have this on my BINGO card. The crowd starts chanting “Where’s Carlito”, which they do acknowledge and play off of well. Oh they’re using their shoot names of Orlando and Eddie now…but before they attack the lights go out and we get another guitar strum! ELIAH/ELIAS/EZEKIEL/EBENERZER/EMERY/EL VAGABUNDO – shows up to back up Hendry. Okay I can apologize away the redundant concert since it played into an Elijah debut. The crowd is immediately popping and chanting “This is Awesome” 10 minutes into the show.

Tyson & Tyriek w/Wes Lee vs The Rascalz w/Ace Austin

Treehouse bros take it to the bigger men quickly, a few fast dives, a little MCMG style tandem strikes, Tyson fires and tries to take them out but they Low Bridge him. Tyriek comes in and they try similar things but Tyriek manhandles them both and throws them out of the ring, Trey is the first one back up and Tyriek and Tyson take his damn head off with his Corkscrew Running Euro Upper. Trey finally manages to flip out of the manhandle, tags in Wentz and Wentz goes for the hot and spicy cleaning house spot. Corner to Corner Knee Lifts for both big men, a Rolling Snapmare, into a Superkick for Tyson and Standing Shoot Star on Tyriek but only for two because Wes feints like he’s going to interfere.

Tyson and Tyriek pull off a tandem Assisted Backdrop Driver, but Wentz breaks it up, Tyson gets knocked out, Wentz hits the Tornillo, Wes tries to interfere again after Trey gets perched on the corner buckle but Ace runs around and trips Wes at the last second causing him to faceplant on the apron, Trey hits the Meteora, Wentz hits a Swanton from the other side of the ring and Trey gets the pinfall victory.

It was fast paced, all gas no brakes, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, so it was pretty fun all things considered.

After the match Wes grabs a mic, complains a little but challenges them to a 6 man match as Sacrifice. So we’re THAT’S where we’re getting the expected 3v3.

Fir$t Cla$$ comes out with an entourage of hot chicks and probably influencers or something. The “First Class Penthouse” , Gabby AF, Mafiosa Valentina, and Carolina are apparently known in their own way. Gabby I know was the awful one who did something for Impact a last year and sucked, but she’s part of the Busted Open Network I believe so that’s why she’s around. Two of them look like Noelle Foley and Frank the Clown…oh they actually are. Look at that. I do love KC Navarro as the Hype Man, they have this whole set up of AJ being mad that they haven’t gotten more Tag Title shots, so TNA placated him with his own Piper’s Pit and he’s *pregnant pause* totally happy with that. He says he loved Piper and hated Hogan before it was cool.

This is actually quality content and AJ is cutting a nice promo in this segment. They introduce their first guest, the greatest performer in TNA history, many whole say he’s Phenomenal with a whole lot of style….it’s A-J-Francis.

Lei Ying Lee vs Rosemary

Things were slow until Rosemary took her into a corner quickly, hit the Upside Down, and we get a lot of Lei trying to avoid Rosemary’s offense. Rosemary goes for a Spear in the corner and Lei forward rolls, starts connecting with a bunch of right hands, backs Rosemary into the corner, goes for 10 Count Punches, pulls her out, Airplane Spin TKO for only a two count. Rosemary tries As Above So Below, Lei shrugs it off, Rosemary tries to go after Lei anyway and eats Thunderstruck! Lei Ying Lee wins!

After the match Rosemary catches Lei on the ramp and hits the Green mist in the eyes. Match was far too short and so many of Lei’s set up moves look better than her finish. We’ve seen Kofi Kingston do it for years so it’s not bad, just the current Knockouts Division are awful and don’t take the move well.

Eric Young and the jabronis come out, EY cuts a very basic power crazed psycho kind of promo, gets the “What” chants from the crowds. EY is trying to recruit Maclin even though Maclin made his line in the sand last week. EY tries to spin it as maybe he took out Josh FOR Maclin instead of in spite of his trust. This really doesn’t seem interesting at all, but that’s probably because I hate the two Jabronis EY is with.

NoDQ Match: Leon Slater vs JDC

I really don’t have any interest in Slater. He’s got no personality beyond “flippy guy with a British accent”.

Dango immediately powders, grabs a chair and goes to swing on him but misses. So Leon is making JDC look dumb by dodging the post chop, using the chair to shield himself from a punch by JDC, and then clapping Dango’s fingers between the chair. So typical System match, look inept for the first few minutes, then take advantage of something to take over. Oh look, Leon takes too long setting up the table, Dango gets in a few pot shots, tries to whip him into the table but Leon leaps over it, and then leaps back over to clobber Dango. Dango is still trying to recover so Leon hits his over the corner post con hilo, and the crowd appreciates it but I’m not interested. Leon panders to the crowd after the big spot and then eats an X-Plex into the chair from Dango.

JDC throws Leon back in, goes for a pinfall that’s only a two and we cut to a commercial. Coming out of the commercial JDC is in control with a Kendo Stick until he isn’t, Leon counters and takes the keno stick, brutalizes Dango a few times then comes off the ropes with the kendo shot for 2. Leon goes for another table, and again, at least the crowd is receptive to this match. Leon sets it up, looks for something off the apron but Dango stops him first until he eats a dropkick to fall onto the table, Leon hits the Swanton 450 through the table on the outside. Does it look cool? Sure. Do I care about dumbass moves? Nope.

Oh thankfully the rest of The System comes out to stop the pinfall, Shield Bomb Leon through the first table, and roll him back in for Dango to win.

The Hardy Boyz come out to try and make the save, but the numbers are against them, so Oba Femi’s music hits! Oba cleans house but doesn’t get his hands on Moose, so they’re at least building the eventual clash between Moose and Oba.

The crowd starts a “Tessa, we comin for you” chant before she even starts talking. Tessa is actually playing off the crowd well, Santino’s music hits and Tessa thinks he’ll help her out with the crowd and Santino calls bullshit basically. Santino says if Tessa doesn’t wrestle next week, she’s fired and Masha’s music hits. Masha decides to step in for Tessa’s enhancement talent match.

Masha Slamovich vs Mila Moore

Jobber tries to attack Masha early but Masha stops her, rocks her and Requiem ends the match.

Masha stares down Tessa, and then Cora Jade attacks from behind and hits Jaded.

Ryan Nemeth comes out to his Abyss music remix. What will Mokuba say today? “MYYYY BIIIGG BBRROOOOTTHHHEEEEER” he repeats at least 4 times and it’s hilariously cringe. He announces that Nic will return at Sacrifice, he literally just came out to give a PSA.

Elijah & Joe Hendry vs The Colons

Hendry starts with Eddie, after a brief tie up it seems like Hendry reads the room and points at Elijah and the crowd wants him in. So Joe tags in Elijah, a little back and forth, Shoulder Tackle from Elijah, Rope Walk with Elijah lays out Eddie and a tag to Joe allows for a quick tandem knockdown, but Eddie powders as the Walking and Talking Duo hold the ring going into the final commercial break.

We come back and Hendry is bouncing Orlando off the ropes as he return a strike, but Orlando is obviously losing, eats a Euro Upper, and then gets walked around in the Stalling Suplex for posterity. Eddie tries a sneak attack but gets caught and Sack of Shit, into Kip Up, turn and then Orlando with the ambush! A few quick short cuts and an Irish Whip/Dropkick combo gives the Colons a near fall. Hendry does get locomotion variation cradles, but eats a Dropkick to stop the attempt at momentum. Orlando stays on Joe, but Joe finally starts to fire up as the crowd starts to get behind him. Euro Uppers make some space, but a Snapmare says no.

Eddie gets tagged in and a quick Leg Sweep into a Front Chancery keeps Eddie in control. As Joe tries to get back up, Eddie turns it into a Guillotine, but finally the Suplex counter connects for Hendry! Simultaneous tags! Elijah bulls over Orlando, catches a Leap Frogging Orlando with the Manhattan Drop as Orlando retreats to a corner, Stinger Splash into Spinebuster for two.  Elijah tries to keep up the attacks but Orlando finds a few ways to make space, launches himself from the middle rope and eats the Jumping Knee! Eddie breaks up the pinfall, Hendry takes Eddie out and Elijah hits the Tombstone Piledriver for the win!

Overall Score: 6/10

Well there were more live hiccups than the first episode, and this felt both more epic and less epic at the same time. Elijah and the Colons debuting was a nice way to kick things off, Oba Femi showing up for the save was fantastic. There were a few decent matches, but also a lot of really short and rushed matches. Tessa played off the crowd well, but Masha really is useless on the mic. Lei Ying Lee needs to framed stronger, her matches have done nothing to show off her ability. It just proves that the Knockouts don’t know how to sell a kick to the head because they all take it in the shoulder and fall in corny ways.

Viva La Sam could be something fun if the next 3 weeks are just hand cam footage of him being like “I’m Sami Callihan and I’m gonna kick Mance Warner’s ass”, Elegance Clique getting the rematch with a stipulation is nice to see and while I like Fir$t Cla$$, that segment went a little long for a cornball swerve payoff. It’s one thing to placate the Influencer squad especially when we’ve seen Logan Paul and Ishowspeed do so well in WWE…but these are like Z Tier Influencers that no one cares about. These kind of dorks stream on Kick because they aren’t relevant enough for Twitch, not because they chose Kick over it.

So yeah, the low lights were pretty low, and the highs were a little fleeting, but at least they were pretty fun. Not a bad show, just clunky with noticeable issues and Masha shouldn’t be allowed to speak English anymore. She’s such a charisma vacuum when she’s not rambling in Russian.

Fuego Del Sol VS Wheeler Yuta!

Lucha night opens with a hot start as the Fire of the Sun returns to ROH, but so does The Decoder! Will Fuego Del Sol get one up on a former ROH Pure Champion turned current AEW World Trios Champion? Or will Yuta do the Death Riders proud in Houston?

Houston cheers on the Texas star, and Fuego offers the Code of Honor. Yuta reaches out, but then SLAPS Fuego! The fans boo and the bell rings, Yuta slips around to CLUB Fuego down! Yuta mocks the fans cheering on Fuego, then scoops him for a SLAM and SENTON! The fans boo but Yuta brings Fuego up. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO, but Yuta holds onto the leg! Yuta taunts Fuego, but Fuego kicks at him! Yuta lets go and the fans rally up. Yuta runs up, Fuego ELBOWS him away, then goes up, up and FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up as Fuego then DROPKICKS Yuta down!

Yuta staggers up, Fuego SLAPS him! But Yuta LARIATS in return! The fans boo but Yuta rains down fists! And then stops, to rain down more fists! The fans boo but Yuta soaks that up while he “kicks dirt” on Fuego. Yuta stands Fuego up, CHOPS him, then has him in a corner. Yuta CHOPS Fuego again, the fans boo, but Yuta whips corner to corner hard! Fuego staggers forward, Yuta says they ain’t done yet. Yuta whips Fuego to the corner again, then FLAPJACKS on the rebound! Yuta adds a basement DROPKICK! The fans boo but Yuta soaks up heat. Yuta hits a spinning toehold, then has a DEATHLOCK!

Fuego endures and Yuta mockingly asks if he’ll give up. Fuego refuses to give in, and he SLAPS Yuta! So Yuta bridges and puts on more pressure! Yuta shows off by not even using his hands, but Fuego fights his way to the ROPEBREAK! Yuta lets go at 4, and he reminds the ref, “I have ’til five!” The fans boo Yuta parodying Bryan Danielson, then Yuta kicks Fuego around. Yuta eggs Fuego on, so Fuego ROCKS him! And ROCKS him! And again, and again, and again! But Yuta gets under the big haymaker! Yuta back suplexes, but Fuego lands out! Fuego dodges Yuta to then springboard QUEBRADA! Down goes Yuta!

The fans fire up as Fuego kips up and SUPERKICKS! Yuta sputters, Fuego runs and STEP-UP DOUBLE STOMPS! The fans fire up again as Fuego climbs a corner! Yuta stands, Fuego MISSILE- NO, Yuta gets under and comes back, BUSAIKU KNEE! Cover, Yuta wins!

Winner: Wheeler Yuta, by pinfall

Another thing he took from The American Dragon is that big knee, and Yuta takes the victory. Yuta sits Fuego up, and thinks about Hammer ‘n’ Anvil elbows, but he decides not to. Because he gets an even more sadistic idea! Yuta looks under the ring, and he brings out a steel chain! Yuta threatens the ref, then he goes to Fuego! The fans boo but Yuta hooks Fuego’s legs up, then uses the chain to go up, up and away, ROMERO SPECIAL!! Yuta taunts Fuego but Fuego is coughing up blood! Yuta lets Fuego go, the fans boo, but Yuta mockingly gives the Code of Honor handshake. Yuta no longer has honor, but will someone find a way to humble him?

Rachael Ellering VS Abadon!

The Queen of Strong Smile is feeling good being in Houston, ready to bring that Comet energy. However, she’s up against the Living Dead Girl, who brings a very different vibe. Will Rachael learn why everyone fears Abadon? Or will Rachael’s smile see her through?

The Code of Honor is upheld, the bell rings, but uh, Abadon doesn’t let go. Rachael tries to get free, and now it is a tug-o-war. The fans rally, Rachael reels Abadon into a headlock, but Abadon BITES Rachael’s hand! The ref reprimands, Abadon lets go, and Abadon doesn’t get what’s wrong. Abadon runs up on Rachael but Rachael gets around to waistlock. Abadon switches, but Rachael goes to ropes to buck the O’Conner! Rachael CLOBBERS Abadon, but Abadon sits up! The fans rally, Rachael is frustrated, and then runs up. Abadon gets around, trips Rachael, then runs to basement dropkick! Rachael flounders to a corner and the fans rally again.

Abadon aims from a corner, runs in at Rachael, but Racahel ELBOWS Abadon away! Abadon says nuh-uh, comes back, but runs into a BOOT! Rachael runs and UPPERCUTS Abadon down! The fans fire up and Rachael aims from a corner. Rachael calls for the “SQUISH~!” and runs up, SENTON onto knees! Abadon avoids disaster and stalks Rachael to the apron. Abadon CLUBS Rachael, pushes her onto the apron, and springboards for a GUILLOTINE LEG DROP! The fans fire up and Abadon pushes Rachael into the ring. Abadon runs corner to corner for a METEORA! Abadon pushes Rachael to a cover, TWO!

Abadon is annoyed but brushes it off. Abadon drags Rachael up, but Rachael fights the suplex! Rachael wrenches out, trips Abadon, and high stacks, ONE!! Rachael ROCKS Abadon, then tries again. FISHERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up for the “MD Collapse” and Rachael aims again. SQUISH~ SENTON hits! Cover, TWO! Abadon survives and Rachael is a bit surprised. Rachael throws off the headband, double checks her teeth, and the fans duel. Rachael CHOPS Abadon at the ropes, then ROCKS Abadon with a forearm! Rachael whips but Abadon blocks! So Rachel CHOPS again! Rachael whips, Abadon grabs ropes, and laughs!

Rachael runs up, Abadon ELBOWS and CUTTERS! Then BLACK DAHLIA!! Cover, Abadon wins!

Winner: Abadon, by pinfall

Abadon continues to be terrifying, as well as victorious. Will the ROH Women’s Division, and especially the champions, have to watch their backs?

Backstage interview with Jacked Jameson.

Lexy Nair is with the former Iron Savage, and he’s counting his abs. She brings us back to a few weeks ago when he walked up to Griff Garrison, Preston Vance & Cole Karter in hopes of forming a group with them. Then in Jacksonville, Jameson actually interfered in their match on their behalf. The question is, what’s going on here? Jameson says those are his boys! His guys! His dudes! Jameson went out there, helped them, it was huge! It was awesome! Speaking of, the boys walk in! Vance tells Jameson that they’ve heard his offer, they loved what he did in Jacksonville, and tonight is a big match and… They’d love if he was a part of it.

So then, it’s official! They got him some Frat House gear! But first… he has to do something. Yeah, sure! Anything! Vance, Griff & Karter pour all of their drinks into one red Solo cup, and Jameson asks what’s in it. The boys say don’t worry about it. Jameson says don’t have to tell him twice. He chugs the concoction, and he is PUMPED! The Frat House is now four men strong, and Jameson says after tonight, party at the Frat House! Vance tells Jameson that one thing about them: win or lose, they booze! The Frat boys head out, Lexy can finally breathe from whatever was in that cup, and it’s time to see if Jameson passes the test!

12 Man Tag: The Premier Athletes & The Frat House VS Top Flight, The Outrunners & The Von Erichs!

Instead of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Tony Nese has the mic to tell Bobby Cruise to shut up, “no one wants to listen to your stupid voice.” Nese then tells the “fat boys and fat girls” of Houston, Nese & Daivari couldn’t think of a better partner for this match than an athlete that makes every single one of them put to shame! Yes, it’s SMART MARK himself! Wait, seriously? Sterling takes the mic to say that’s right, he is still here to make sure that the losers of Texas can take part in their winning cheer. So please, get this right. When he says, “Athletes,” you say, “Rule!” NOTHING ELSE! Hands in, boys. Ohhh…! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Gottee!

But with that, Dante & Darius Martin enter, accompanied by Leila Grey. Then Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd enter, and last but not least, Texas’ own, Marshall & Ross Von Erich! The massive teams sort out, and Darius starts against Nese. The fans rally up and Darius circles with Nese. Nese says wait, wait! He knows what the fans are here to see. Nese flexes, but the fans boo. Nese shouts, “ATHLETES!” The fans respond, “SUCK!” Nese and Darius circle, but then Nese kicks low! Nese bumps Darius off buckles, then tags in Daivari. “We’ll show you who sucks!” Nese & Daivari fire hands in the corner while the fans boo.

The ref counts, The Premier Athletes stop, and they both shout, “ATHLETES!” Again, the fans say, “SUCK!” Daivari tags Griff and they mug Darius. Griff ROCKS Darius, has him in a corner, then whips corner to corner. Darius goes up and over, rolls and arm-drags, then he DROPKICKS! The fans cheer, and Darius whips Griff into Dante’s BOOT! Tag to Dante, Darius CHOPS, Dante trips Griff, and Darius adds DOUBLE STMOPS! Griff scrambles, tag to Jameson, but Dante arm-drags Jameson! Dante keeps the armlock, he tags in Ross, and Ross wrenches to a wristlock. Ross YANKS the arm, then tags Marshall.

The Von Erichs double whip Jameson, then Marshall sends Ross in, FLYING BOOT! FLYING LARIAT and then Marshall snapmares Jameson for Ross’s PENALTY KICK! STANDING MOONSAULT and Marshall covers, TWO! Marshall fires the fans up, then hauls Jameson up to headlock. Tag to Truth and he wrenches Jameson. The fans rally but Jameson fires hands! Jameson whips, Daivari gets a cheap shot in, but Truth DECKS Daivari! Only for Vance to CLOBBER Truth! The ref has to keep Truth’s team back, so he missed all that! Jameson stomps Truth, tags Vance, and Vance covers, TWO!

Vance ROCKS Truth, has him in the corner, then CHOPS! Tag to Daivari, he CHOPS Truth, then he tags Nese. The Premier Athletes mug Truth with haymaker after haymaker, but the ref is still too busy keeping Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs back! Nese drags Truth up, and he tags in Sterling!? The fans boo but Sterling gets to throw hands on Truth! “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!!” Sterling drags Truth back, anchors a leg, and tags in Vance. Vance stomps Truth, tags Jameson, and Jameson tags Griff. Vance puts Truth in a corner, Griff sends Jameson in to LARIAT! Vance adds a BOOT, and then Griff BOOTS Truth down! Cover, TWO!

Griff tags Vance back in, they mug Truth, and Vance keeps Truth from the corner. Vance suplexes, covers, TWO! Truth stays in this but Vance stays on him with a chinlock. Truth endures, the fans rally up, and Truth stands. Truth fires body shots, but Vance CLUBS him! Vance whips, Truth ducks ‘n’ dodges, DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! The fans fire up again as Truth and Vance crawl. Truth pushes past Vance, but Leila has to get out of the way as The Premier Athletes & Frat House all run up! They all YANK Top Flight, Turbo & The Von Erichs off the apron, leaving Truth stranded! But at least Truth’s team fights back!

The fans fire up, but Truth turns around into a BOOT! Truth ends up on the apron, Vance runs up, and Vance SPEARS Truth onto the entire cluster! The fans fire up as Vance drags Truth into the ring. Shoutout to Dustin Rhodes, he is a great fellow tag team champion, he really tested MXM. But then they ran away with this here title, and there is nothing anyone can say about it! Fingertip touch and MXM heads out, but they do know possession is NOT nine-tenths of the law in ROH, right?

I’m starting to get real tired of the same questions. Why? I’m just getting started.” When and where will Red Velvet serve up another L fresh from the kitchen?

Will Sammy & Dustin just have to take the fight to MXM to get their stolen property back?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH clocking in at an hour and 21 minutes, it feels like they’ve almost got this mastered for a good cable TV runtime. Though at the same time, we still had filler in Gates of Agony squashing Exodus & Josiah, and then both women’s matches were fairly quick. Billie squashing Hyan was in part to serve story as we did see Athena tell Billie to take things seriously, and then Billie takes her frustrations out on Hyan. Rachael VS Abadon could’ve been a little longer to build them both up in the standings, but Abadon winning makes sense as Abadon’s gotten closer to titles than Rachael has. And good promo from Velvet, but I’m not sure why we’re waiting so long to get to her and Leyla’s rematch.

Additionally, while that 12 Man Tag was some fun, just smashing together multiple teams for that was bordering on filler. Good to see The Von Erichs back given ROH was in Texas. And between The Von Erichs being in Texas and Sterling being introduced as one of the competitors, it was a given The Von Erichs and their team would win. Though it did work that The Outrunners got the finish, they’re the team riding high right now. I will say it’s good that “The Frat House” is a faction, but like, can’t the name have just be The Fraternity? Or like, Greek letters that make a fraternity name, but also is a funny pun when you boil it down to letters.

But of course, great stuff throughout the night involving luchadores. Fuego Del Sol VS Yuta was a very good opening match, but I figured Yuta would win that. Him going the extra mile with that steel chain was rather vicious, I feel like Fuego should want payback, teaming with some other AEW wrestlers who have beef with the Death Riders. Komander VS Lee was a very good ROH TV Championship match, but given this wasn’t the main event, I figured Komander would retain. Maybe EJ gets his shot next?

And then a very good Six Man main event. The lucha rules made it constant motion because there was no need for tags, and apparently the ref didn’t need to count when Hechi’s team was in there together. MXM getting involved makes sense, as they’re still not happy just possessing the tag title. They screwed Sammy over, Hechi’s team wins, but then Sammy’s side stands tall over MXM. I would think we do get Sons of Texas VS MXM one more time, who knows how that goes, but it’ll be a lot of fun either way.

My Score: 8.6/10
