The teams sort out and Christian Cage starts against The Bastard. The fans rally as the two circle, and Mexico is definitely behind El Padre. The two tie up, Pac wrenches, but Christian CLAWS the eyes! Christian headlocks, Pac powers out, and Yuta gets a shot in! The fans boo but then the benches clear and it’s a brawl! The fans fire up as Cope & The Bucks TOSS the Death Riders while Christian RAMS Pac into a corner! Nick is sent in, but he’s put on the apron. Matt is sent in, but he’s put on the other apron! Christian runs in, RAM DOUBLE ENZIGIRI COMBO! The fans fire up as Christian feeds Pac to Cope, and they DDT SIDEWALK SLAM COMBO!

The fans fire up again as The Bucks build speed! Matt WRECKS Yuta with a dropkick, then he skins the cat so Nick can FLY! Down goes Yuta, then they go after Moxley! Christian goes up!? SUPER CROSSBODY on The Death Riders! The fans fire up and even Cope is surprised to see that. Christian gets up and he puts Pac in the ring while Grand Slam: Mexico goes picture in picture.

Moxley brings Nick around to CHOP him down as Grand Slam: Mexico returns to single picture. Tag to Garcia, but Yuta & Pac BLASTS the corner! The Cycle of Violence begins! The fans cheer, the ref reprimands, but Christian backs off. Matt SUPERKICKS Moxley, Nick DROPKICKS him onto the ropes! Nick and Cope look to each other and try to coordinate what’s next. DOUBLE PLANCHA on Yuta & Garcia! Christian keeps after Pac, and Cope stalks Moxley. But Moxley kicks first! Cope wrenches free, kicks back, IMPALER DDT! The fans chant “SI! SI! SI!” and Cope takes aim! BUT MARINA GREABS COPE! The fans boo but Christian handles The Problem by dragging her down! Marina SLAPS him! So Christian kicks Marina below that belt! Is that equality or just plain wrong? The fans still cheer him for it! But then Yuta BUSAIKU KNEES Cope! Christian gets Yuta in the chicken wings! Yuta powers out, Garcia is there, DARK HORSE STAMPEDE! But The Bucks DOUBLE SUPERKICK Garcia!

Yuta blocks a kick, sends it into Matt, then whips Matt to a corner. Matt goes up and over, Nick SUPERKICKS! Matt cravats, ASSISTED SLICED BREAD and a SHINING WIZARD! Garcia falls for a feint, Matt DDTS him down! Nick runs up on Pac, Pac hurdles, then Pac dodges Matt to SNAP GERMAN! But COPE-A-SETIC on Pac! Only for Moxley to have a SLEEPER! The Casino Gauntlet is on the horizon, ready to name a new #1 contender to the AEW World Championship. The Real Latino Man wants to fulfill his destiny, but will the numbers spell disaster for him in Arena Mexico? Or can he overcome The Psycho Killer and Ace of Space?

Ciampa makes a point of the fact that he’s the one American in this match by wearing red ‘n’ blue gear as well as a star-spangled cape. The bell rings and the fans are fired up for Andrade, especially after he throws his shirt off. Ciampa gets on the corner to flex and get heat. Ciampa talks trash that he doesn’t need Komander, he just wants Andrade. Andrade shoves Ciampa, Komander storms up, but Ciampa kicks Komander and knocks him down! The fans boo as Ciampa stomps away on Komander, but Andrade fires hands! The fans rally as the shots go back and forth! Andrade ROCKS Ciampa, but Ciampa pokes Andrade in the eye!

The fans boo, Ciampa soaks it up, but then Andrade CHOPS him down! The fans fire up as Andrade claps and the fans join in. Andrade runs, but Komander FLYING RANAS! The fans fire up for Komander, but Ciampa puts him on the apron. Ciampa BELL CLAPS Komander down, then DECKS him. Ciampa mocks the clapping, runs the ropes, but Andrade trips him! Ciampa teases a certain other kind of pic but thinks better of it. Ciampa then DECKS Komander, whips him into railing hard, and Komander falls into the crowd! Ciampa flexes, soaks up heat, then fetches Andrade. Ciampa puts Andrade in the ring, soaks up more heat, then puts Andrade through ropes. Ciampa bends Andrade back, then BOOTS him down! Especially when Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor are eager to go all in against Megan Bayne & Lena Kross. Will Nightingale & The Birds be flying high after tonight? Or will Mone & the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions make them all #BowDown?

This title is truly going international as the Aussie Arrow and the Canadian Karate Kid are battling it out in Arena Mexico! But will The Protostar still prove himself as the greatest International Champion of all time? Or will Bailey bounce Kyle off that throne?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who wins this highly anticipated tiebreaker!

Kyle and Bailey each wear a luchador mask for their entrance. They each take the mask off, but while Bailey puts his aside, Kyle throws his down to stomp it! The fans duel between Hechicero and Mistico, but Hechi whips Mistico corner to corner for the RISING KNEE! Hechi snapmares, the fans cheer, and Okada bumps Jericho off buckles. Okada and Knight stalk Darby as he crawls away, but Knight brings Darby up and into the ring. Tag to Hechi and he hooks Darby’s legs up. Hechi then grabs the arms, and says up, up, and away into the ROMERO SPECIAL! Then Hechi FLINGS Darby into the corner! Darby stumbles and falls, and Hechi taunts him. The fans are torn as Kris steps out to the apron, and Kris sets up for the SIDEWINDER MOONSAULT! The fans cheer that much, and Kris puts Perse back in the ring. Perse lifts to a Canadian Rack, but Kris arm-drags free! Then lateral press, roll, and Kris has the arms, SEATBELT! TWO, but Kris runs up! Perse ducks ‘n’ dodges to LARIAT! Both women are down but the fans fire up. Perse crawls her way over, brings Kris up, and SLAPS her! Kris SLAPS back! Perse and Kris fire SLAPS back and forth, then Kris fires a flurry! The fans boo but Perse dodges to SUPERKICK! Kris staggers, but she drop toeholds Perse! Kris runs to SPLASH against ropes! Kris pushes Perse down, goes up the corner, and climbs up top! Kris aims for a 45- NO, Kris didn’t even really complete 450, and then Perse SPEARS her down! Cover, TWO!!

Perse is furious but Kris survives. Perse goes out, looks around, and she grabs at Rosa’s belt! The ref reprimands, but Perse drags Rosa over the railing! The ref separates the two, but then Perse CLOBBERS Rosa with her own belt! The ref reprimands Perse, but Kris CLOBBERS Perse into the ref! Kris hauls Perse up, BIG back suplex on the floor! This tiebreaker has raised the stakes with no disqualifications, no count outs, no one else allowed ringside, and no telling what will happen! But will Ospreay be razor sharp heading for All In? Ospreay reverses and Davis hits railing! Ospreay runs up, but Davis dumps Ospreay over the barriers! Ospreay lands on his feet and ROCKS Davis!

The fans fire up as Ospreay gets a running start to FLY over the barriers and take out Davis! The fans fire up and Ospreay brings Davis up. Ospreay puts Davis in the ring, then grabs himself a chair. Ospreay puts that chair in the ring, then springboards, PIP PIP CHEERIO! Cover, ONE! Davis is tougher than that, but Ospreay stalks him. Davis JAMS Ospreay up with the chair! And SMACKS him on the back! Ospreay crawls around, but Davis winds up, and he swings! Ospreay ducks the headshot, then handsprings to RED DOT through the chair! Davis is down and the fans fire up! Ospreay then goes outside, aims, and FLYING- NO, Davis stops the rana! APRON BOMB!

The fans boo but Davis snarls as he storms around. Davis then storms around the way, and grabs some chairs. Davis throws the chairs into the ring, then brings the trash can around the way! The fans boo but Davis CHUCKS the can at Ospreay’s head! The fans boo but Davis brings Ospreay up, And POWERBOMBS him onto a fan?!? The fans go nuts, and hopefully that fan got a good deal on his tickets… Davis empties the trash can of its spare traffic signs while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Davis stalks Ospreay through the crowd as they head for the stage. Davis SMACKS Ospreay with a stop sign! Ospreay stumbles, Davis taunts the fans, then he brings Ospreay up with a SLEEPER! Ospreay endures, reaches out, but there’s nothing to save him in a Street Fight! So Ospreay JAWBREAKERS free! Davis staggers to the steps, Ospreay brings him up higher, then ROCKS him with a haymaker. Ospreay then brings Davis up higher, but Davis body blows! They’re on the stage, and Davis grabs his towel from earlier to CHOKE Ospreay! Ospreay endures, flails, but Davis lets go. Ospreay fires forearms, ROCKS Davis, then kicks him.

Ospreay reels Davis in, but Davis BACKDROPS free! Ospreay writhes, Davis snarls, and Davis drags Ospreay up. Grand Slam returns to single picture as Ospreay fires Kawada Kicks! Davis wobbles, staggers, but he finds a board of some kind! Davis SMASHES that piece of drywall on Ospreay’s head! Ospreay then tumbles down the steps and back to the ramp! The fans boo but Davis walks back down. Davis drags Ospreay up, THROWS him into the ring, then tells off the fans. Davis grabs another chair, puts that in the ring, then adds another! Davis steps on a chair to keep Ospreay from having it, and then gut wrenches.

Ospreay slips free, HOOK KICKS, then fireman’s carries! Davis fights free, and he RAMS Ospreay into the corner chair! The fans boo but Davis starts setting up the chairs. Davis has two side by side, and he sits Ospreay up. Ospreay is busted open, so Davis ELBOWS away on the bloody forehead wound! Davis CHOKES Ospreay on the ropes, then stops to go back to his chairs. Davis adds a few more chairs to the mix, then SMACKS Ospreay with one! Ospreay writhes from that shot to the back, but Davis drags him over. Davis has Ospreay take a seat, then he brings out a FORK!? Davis takes a lesson from Moxley as he DIGS into Ospreay’s bloody forehead!

The fans boo but Davis JABS Ospreay with the fork! And JABS him again! Davis runs the ropes, but Ospreay drop toeholds him into the chair! Davis sputters, Ospreay uses those other chairs as a launchpad! Springboard and OSCUTTER! Cover, TWO!! Davis survives, but Ospreay takes that fork for his own! The fans are freaking out already as Ospreay JABS away on Davis’s forehead!! Ospreay DIGS it in like he’s trying to scrape his plate clean! Then Ospreay takes a taste! The fans tell Ospreay he’s sick, but Ospreay then winds up in the corner. Davis stands, Ospreay runs up, but Davis LARIATS! Davis is bloodied but he repositions some chairs.

Davis hauls Ospreay up, Canadian Rack and GONZO BOMB on the chairs!! Cover, TWO!!! Ospreay survives and the fans are fired up! Ospreay shakes his head, and he crawls away to a corner. But then Davis brings out a barbed-wire chair! But then Davis decides to take the wire off from around the chair, and he wraps it around his fist! Davis DIGS and SCRAPES Ospreay with the wire! Davis then builds speed, but Ospreay CHUCKS a chair at him! Davis stumbles around, goes to the apron, and Ospreay goes out after him. Ospreay reels Davis in with underhooks but Davis fights for his life! Davis then HEADBUTTS Ospreay!

Davis brings Ospreay up, reels him in, and- NO, Ospreay fights the driver! Davis CLAWS Ospreay’s back, then uses the barbed wires to SCRAPE at Ospreay’s back! The fans boo, but then Ospreay NUT CRACKERS! The fans freak out, and Ospreay GAMANGIRIS! Then he reels Davis in, APRON PILEDRIVER!!! Davis falls to the floor while the fans are thunderous! Ospreay crawls, crimson mask in full, “ESTA LUCHA!” A standing count starts, but Davis springs to life at 9! Davis rolls in, HIDDEN BLADE!! Cover, TWO?!!? Davis survives but Ospreay is roaring! The fans are thunderous again as Ospreay brings Davis up!

Ospreay underhooks, but Davis BACKDROPS! Ospreay sunset flips, roll through, Ospreay avoids a Sliding D to ghost pin! TWO, Davis ducks the buzzsaw, then scoops, PENDULUM PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO?!?!? Ospreay survives and the fans fire up again! Davis and Ospreay rise up, but Davis has the barbed wire again! Davis wraps it around his arm, hits the ropes, BARBED- NO, Ospreay slips through, lifts, and tucks! STYLES CLASH!!! Cover, TWO?!!? Davis survives again, but Ospreay just FALLING HAMMERS with the forearm! Ospreay fires a flurry, then he gets the wire! He WRAPS it around Davis’s face!!

Ospreay goes to the corner, HIDDEN BLADE through the wires!! Cover, OSPREAY WINS!

The most vicious tiebreaker imaginable, and it is The Aerial Assassin standing tall! And now with this behind him, can Ospreay focus on All In? Will he be ready for The Best Bout Machine?

My Thoughts:

A great Grand Slam: Mexico, but can AEW just admit they want a three hour weekly program? They literally advertised this as 2.5 hours (rather suddenly, by the way) and then they still went over to make it three hours. But even so, that’s from them packing this show full of action, no filler. For that matter, MJF was the only promo because he of course had to explain his return and everything going forward. I suppose him having the Triple B is a parallel to CM Punk putting an X on his copy of the title, yet it feels even less substantiated. That was a great Triple Threat from Andrade, Ciampa & Komander, and a great win for Andrade. Maybe MJF finds a way to win the #2 spot, but it would be pretty hilarious if he didn’t. And MJF can still win the gauntlet, but just after like three or four other guys get in and he takes advantage of exhaustion.

Great 8 Man Tag, and good use of the “accidental collision” to help Death Riders win. Moxley has momentum going into the Continental Cup, he and Jack Perry will have a great match, but I would think Moxley makes it through the first round. Great Six Woman Tag, and great win for the Faces to put Mone on the defensive but to also officially set up Birds VS Dominion. Awesome Six Man Tag with Jericho busting out a recreation of his old Lionheart/Corazon De Leon gear, and a great win for the Faces there. Darby VS Knight for the TNT title could steal the show no matter where it is, and who knows who wins that.

For that matter, Kyle VS Bailey could’ve main evented tonight if not for escalating Ospreay VS Davis into a Street Fight. That was definitely the best of their personal trilogy, and I figured Kyle was retaining. The tension between him and Okada is good stuff, and that could end up the All In match if they really wanted. Perse VS Kris was great, and good use of shenanigans to keep Kris strong while losing to Perse. I almost feel like there should be a tag match, Perse & Shida VS Kris & Rosa, and then we can get Perse VS Rosa in a Winner Takes all while Shida and Kris settle things in a wild stipulation match.

Great Trios Championship match tonight, but I did not think Hangman’s team was gonna win. I would’ve thought Demand would cheat or even get disqualified to retain, but instead, Hangman is going to be a Trios Champion again while he waits on a singles title story to open up. And then speaking of that Street Fight, what a great main event, they used a lot of the ringside area and the stage, and both guys got bloody before the end. Ospreay of course wins, though, he is using that momentum towards All In. I wonder if Kenny Omega finds a reason to not have his own tune-up matches, or just sets himself up with some really easy ones that are basically squashes.
