It’s hard to know what to say about Hulk Hogan nowadays. While you can’t deny his contributions to the business in helping it in one of it’s most profitable and popular periods recent years have threaten to mark that.

Being such an iconic figure and being around for as long as he was it should be impossible to narrow his career down to just 10 moments. Well I think I’ve done a pretty good job of spanning the career of the immortal one to find Hulk Hogan’s 10 career defining moments.

10. Rocky 3

While Hogan’s role in the movie was a minor one it did him a lot of good. Hogan made a brief appearance in Rocky 3 as Thunder lips for a wrestler vs boxer match against the title character. The film gave Hogan mainstream exposure for the first time. Unlike his son Vince SR  was against stars leaving to do movies so would end up firing Hogan from the then WWWF.

Hogan would go to the AWA where he would ride the popularity of Rocky 3 becoming more of a star. Despite this Verne Ganga was hesitant to make Hogan the guy. Vince jr saw sense to bring Hogan back which would lead to…

9. The birth of Hulkamania

The date January 24^th, 1984 will forever be remembered as the day that Hulkamaina was born. The day Hogan the WWE championship from Iron Sheik in MSG. Odd looking back that such an important moment happened on a regular MSG house show. A case of the right guy at the right time similar to Austin in the late 90’s.

This would kick off a 4-year reign and the first of 6 reigns with the belt for Hogan. It also would lead to what would be refereed to as the golden era of wrestling with Hogan right at the centre.
