They go in the ring, Christian CHOPS Cole in a corner! Christian puts Cole up top, ROCKS him, then climbs up, only for Cole to slip out and SUPERKICK the legs! Christian is in the Tree of Woe, Cole hammers and stomps him down! MULE KICK to the face! Christian falls out of the Tree and bails out of the ring, but now Cole pursues. Cole whips Christian into railing! And then into steel steps! Christian tumbles up and over, and Cole stands on the steps to soak up the heat!

Dynamite goes picture in picture as Cole watches Christian like a vulture. Cole then hops down, drags Christian up and whips him into railing! Cole tells the ref to cool off, and he refreshes the count to bring Christian back up and in. Cole then rains down rights, then sits Christian up to jam a knee into his back! Cole clamps on a chinlock and he grinds Christian down, but Christian endures. Fans rally, Christian fights up and he throws body shots. Christian ROCKS Cole, runs, but Cole CLOBBERS him with an elbow! Cole dusts off his hands, then stands on Christian at the ropes! The ref counts, and Cole steps off at 4.

Cole drags Christian back up, turns him, and hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Cole sits Christian up to clamp on another chinlock and Christian endures again. Christian fights up as fans rally. Christian hurries up top and he LEAPS over the corner to CROSSBODY Cole! Both men are down and fans fire up! The ring count climbs, Cole and Christian crawl at 5 of 10. They get in at 6, then head for each other. Christian ROCKS Cole but Cole ROCKS him back! Christian fires off again, but Cole gives it back!

Christian UPPERCUTS, but Cole ENZIGURIS! Cole stomps Christian on his way to the corner, and Cole climbs up. Cole leaps, but into BOOTS! Christian lets go but the ref keep shim back. Cole thumb’s Christian in the eye! Cole hits the BOOM!! Cover, Cole wins!

Winner: Adam Cole, by pinfall

And here comes reDRagon to beat up on Christian! But then Jurassic Express rush out! Jungle Boy goes after Kyle, Luchasaurus is after Fish! Christian helps out, they have this 3v2 now! They fight up the ramp and to the stage, but Cole is all alone. Cole figures he’ll just get outta here, but here comes HANGMAN! The Cowboy is storming out but Cole tells us all that they need to stop. Cole is not fighting Hangman until the title is on the line again! Hangman is afraid of Cole! Cole just beat a legend, and he’ll whoop Hangman’s ass any day of the week!

Hangman gets right in the ring, snatches the mic right outta Cole’s hands, and shouts, “So you wanna title match, huh?! You want a championship match, huh?! You want another match with Hangman, huh?! Look at me when I’m talking to you!” Adam and Adam get in each other’s face here, and fans are fired up! Hangman says after last week, Cole realized he couldn’t just steal the title. But fine, Hangman will give Cole another match, and it’ll serve as his punishment. Because unless he is mistaken, they have a live Rampage in Texas. So the match Cole thinks he wants so bad won’t just be a normal match and it won’t be on Cole’s terms. It’ll be in a TEXAS DEATHMATCH!!

Fans are thunderous again because we’re going to see some serious #CowboySh*t! Hangman tells Cole he has a week left. If Hangman were him, he’d get his affairs in order. Adam VS Adam II, AEW World Championship Texas Deathmatch, will things be bigger and deadlier in Texas?

AEW shares what happened at ROH Supercard of Honor.

After Jonathan Gresham won and became the undisputed ROH World Champion, Jay Lethal came out and said that in return for what Lethal did for Gresham’s career, it is only fair that Lethal is his next challenger. Gresham said Lethal has changed. But Lethal says no one would know who Gresham is without Lethal! Sonjay Dutt came out to try and stop these two from fighting, but then Sonjay DECKS the Octopus! They mugged Gresham, but then SAMOA JOE returned to ROH! He got in Lethal’s face, and then put Sonjay to sleep! And not only is Joe back in ROH, he is now ALL ELITE!!

Owen Hart Memorial Men’s Tournament Qualifier: Samoa Joe VS Max Caster w/ Anthony Bowens!

Boston is going nuts seeing the Samoan Submission Machine makes his way out to the ring! But to rain on everyone’s parade with a diss track is Platinum Max! “I’ma lay this dude down like a sex position. I’m Main Event Max, Joe’s X Division. So I’m sending you home. You’re not a tough guy, Joe, you just injury prone. And I’m bad for your health. Got that towel cuz you can’t stop playin’ with yourself! And Tony, why’d we give this guy a chance? When we beat them in the ratings, he was their champ!” Joe can’t help but shrug, that last part is true. Bowens says, BOSTOOOOON~! The Acclaimed have arrived!” But will they be leaving left out of the tournament?

The bell rings and the fans of course sing, “Joe is gonna kill~ you!” Caster says no he won’t. Caster talks trash to Joe, but the problem is when he pokes Joe in the chest. Caster gets closer and Joe HEADBUTTS him! Joe then JABS, JABS and JABS until Caster’s down in the corner, so Joe just stomps him! Joe breaks it down with some dance moves, then he JABS Caster more! Joe grins then whips Caster corner to corner hard, to then back body block, and PELE! Caster drops to his knees clutching his head, but Joe brings him up. Caster throws hands, but Joe knees low and snapmares to CHOP him on the back!

Joe KICKS Caster down, then runs to drop an elbow! Caster bails out, regroups with Bowens, and fans fire up as Joe DIVES! Direct hit on Caster! Fans chant for “JOE! JOE! JOE!” as he drags Caster up. Bowens talks trash so Joe steps to him. Caster sucker punches Joe! Caster CLUBS away on Joe, fires off more in the ring, then ROCKS him with a forearm! Caster back hands, but Joe doesn’t even flinch. Joe CLOBBERS Caster with an elbow! Joe puts Caster up top, tuck shim in, and yes, he brings out the MUSCLE BUSTER! Cover, Joe wins!

Winner: Samoa Joe, by pinfall (advances to the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament)

And the first man in this inaugural bracket is perhaps the most dangerous man in both ROH and AEW! But wait, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt are on the tron, and they’re telling Joe to calm down. There’s a reason they’re in the back. They won’t rain on his parade or ruin his moment. They’re not going to do what he did to them at Supercard. Lethal and Sonjay have more class. They respect him more than he respects them, which is hard considering the fact that last week, these two changed their outlooks in life. Lethal’s new outlook: say and do whatever the hell he wants! And he wonders, would he have that same outlook if Joe just answered his damn phone?

Because for four months, Lethal tried to call his teacher, his mentor, for some advice. And Joe never answered. Now Joe is here, so he has a phone. But the problem is, he only ever answers the phone for billionaires. That is the real problem. Joe’s first shirt here should say, “The Samoan Gold Digger.” Sonjay likes that one! But Lethal is even more upset that he didn’t know Joe would be here! Lethal respects Joe enough to roll out the red carpet and get him a cake! Sonjay says they can still do that, though. Yeah, that’s true. It’s not too late! Next week, they’ll get Joe a present so big and grand, it’ll embody their love and show their respect for Joe.

Next week, New Orleans, Joe’s number one student gets him a gift that he’ll never forget. See you there! Joe isn’t quite sure what that’ll be, but will Joe be more focused on winning the Owen Hart Tournament as the #1 seed?

Tony Schiavone interviews Blackpool Combat Club.

Schiavone announces that for this Friday’s Rampage, Bryan Danielson is taking on Trent Beretta while Jon Moxley takes on the NEW ROH Pure Champion, Wheeler Yuta! William Regal says he is off his nut with excitement, because the BCC will definitely be on a rampage. The perfect wrestler, Bryan Danielson, taking on the perfectly talented Trent, Regal feels sorry for the poor lad. And then, Yuta, who has impressed both Regal and Bryan greatly, is gotta impress the hardest of all to impress. Young Wheeler won’t know if it’s daylight, moonlight, or Fanny by the gaslight once Moxley’s done with him.

Moxley says, “The forecast for this Friday night on Rampage: the sound of bones cracking like thunder, and raining blood.” The Maniac is more than ready to mangle Yuta, but will the Decoder prove he’s ready to join this club?

Shawn Spears VS Capt. Shawn Dean!

The grudge between Chairman and Captain goes back a bit, especially here in AEW. MJF joins commentary for this, because he promised Spears will win one for the Pinnacle. Will Maxwell Jacob Friedman be proven right? Or will the Captain capitalize on the turmoil within the faction?

The bell rings, the two circle and Spears shouts out to MJF. Spears and Dean tie up, Spears waistlocks but Dean switches. Spears switches back to scoop and BACKBREAKER! Spears mocks the salute while fans boo. MJF puts the “Canadian God” over as Spears stomps Dean. Spears drags Dean up to TOSS him out hard! Dean crashes down but fans rally up for him. Spears goes out, he points out the AEW security posters for Wardlow and he smears his boots on the picture. Fans still chant for “WARD~LOW!” as Spears puts Dean in. Spears CHOPS Dean in a corner, then soaks up the heat before he swings again. Dean dodges to CHOP back!

Dean CHOPS Spears again, and again! Dean whips but Spears reverses and kicks low. Spears then pump handles to give Dean a PACKAGE NECKBREAKER! Cover, but Spears lets off? MJF says Spears is playing with his food, but fans boo. Spears waits as Dean gets up slowly, then reels him in for the fireman’s carry! Fans still chant for Wardlow, and look out! Cameras spot something going on in the back. The security staff is all beat to hell! MJF is freaking out but he should know by now what’s going on! Spears sets Dean down to look around. Is he coming? Is Wardlow in Boston? HE IS! And he TOSSES more security, dribbles one against lockers, then TOSSES another!

Wardlow storms his way out and is coming through the crowd! MJF wants security to do them damn jobs, but they just get CLOBBERED time and again! Wardlow DECKS one, RAMS another into the railing, and is ringside! The bigger guards stop Wardlow, but Dean rolls up Spears! DEAN WINS!

Winner: Shawn Dean, by pinfall

Wardlow says that’s what MJF gets! Dean once again has a win over The Pinnacle, will he parlay this into bigger opportunities? And as for MJF and Spears, if they can’t keep Wardlow away, what’s going to happen with their win-loss records?

Tony Schiavone interviews Best Friends.

Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, Orange Cassidy, and new ROH Pure Champion, Wheeler Yuta, are here after hearing from Blackpool Combat Club and those match-ups on Rampage. Chuckie T speaks up, because he wants to talk with Wheeler. Wheeler knows the Kentucky Gentleman loves him, Cassidy loves him, and they helped train him and got him here. They bought him the tights he’s wearing. Yes, they know Wheeler wants to be the best wrestler he can, but there’s nothing saying he can’t do that with Best Friends.

But Trent says he doesn’t love Wheeler, Wheeler is a scumbag traitor. We all saw Bryan beat Wheeler’s ass last week, so watch what Trent does to Bryan this week, maybe even take notes. Learn something form the guys he’s gonna turn his back on. Trent pushes Wheeler, Wheeler tells Trent not to touch him. He doesn’t want Chuck touching him, either. Wheeler storms off, is Trent only making Wheeler’s departure a guarantee?

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti are here!

And Sammy has his cue cards! Dynamite is picture in picture as the lovebirds work together. “Hey PLOP Team!” with a drawing of doodoo to make it clear what that means. “You’ve got more excuses than wins! Members! Or fans! How about we change your name? How does American Talk Team sound? That’s all you guys seem to do! Or… American Walk Team! After last week, I’m sure you’re doing a lot of that! By the way, I think we owe you some money.” Tay looks around in her pockets, and tada! One, two, three, four FIVE HUNDY! It’s that easy. Sammy then continues, “I think we owe you something else, too. Each and every one of you!

“While I have the record for another title shot, I want nothing more than sweet revenge. Sorry, we want nothing more than sweet revenge! And we won’t stop until we get it! Until then, we will keep breaking your crap!” Tay throws down the last card as the challenge has been issued, what will American Top Team have to say?

AEW shares footage from earlier tonight.

The Jericho Appreciation Society was brawling with Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz! Kingston slams Jericho into a door, Proud ‘n’ Powerful beat down Daniel Garcia and the duo formerly known as 2Point0! And then they all focus on Jericho! Jericho is sent into more doors, and then the JAS goes running when Kingston brings in a flat screen TV!! Kingston tosses it at the doors, and it busts up! Hager got the van for the JAS to run away! Kingston laughs as “Monkey” Ortiz still tries to chase after. This was just a sampler, what happens when Kingston, Santana & Ortiz get to give JAS the whole deal?

Wait, Kingston heads to the ring!

The Mad King says it’s time to talk now. Fans fire up for Kingston as he, Santana & Ortiz go out. No waiting for music, either! “Chris Jericho! You two faced coward!” Did you see them go running? Jericho and his association, on site! That means Jericho could be with his wife and kids, Kingston will come after him! The other two morons, Big Daddy or whatever, they could be with their families, Kingston will get them! Garcia, well… Kingston is laughing here. He knows where Garcia lives! Does he think Kingston won’t just show up at his house? ON SITE! Santana gets the mic now and he says, “Look at ’em! The Jericho BITCH Society strikes again!”

Those scrubs! They know, this is what they do! Bring the hardest fights to these dogs, because this is what they do! Ortiz tells “Christopher” that when he grows a pair and stops running, come see these three in Louisiana for a good ol’ fashioned Six Man! Or not, doesn’t matter. ON SITE, Christopher! ON SITE! Kingston says, “My dude, we’re going to be in New Orleans, and we’re gonna beat your ass Junkyard Dog and Bush league style, BITCH!” The challenge has been issued, the warning has been given, will JAS have no choice but to toughen up and get what’s coming to them?

Tony Schiavone introduces Mark Sterling & Jade Cargill!

Smart Mark and his client, the undefeated AEW TBS Champion, 29-0 and counting, are here in Boston. We are approaching possibly win number 30 in 30 matches, and Schiavone knows the baddies are here tonight. Jade says first of all, Tony, cut the sh*t! She is here to formally introduce her baddy section, THE baddy section. Cameramen, do your jobs! Jade’s girls are here, they’re so beautiful. But you see, a baddie is beautiful, confident and knows herself. And she can stand up here and tell all the slobs that she knows herself! Sterling says it was difficult to find good looking women in Boston, but Jade is such a hard worker, she persisted and managed to do it.

Sterling will also tell us that the one person not allowed in that section tonight for sure is Marina Shafir. She may be badass, but she ain’t a baddie. She trash! She might as well just be called Number 30 at this point. Jade is tired of all these MMA losers coming into this business. She is tired of all the wrestler rejects coming into her ring and her show. Sterling was concerned about Marina’s background and how she calls herself, “The Problem.” Jade says, “The Problem?” Well thankfully, Jade is the Problem Solver. Jade is confident as ever, but will that confidence break along with the streak when she takes The Problem head-on?

Backstage interview with MJF and Shawn Spears.

Alex Marvez notes they’re both clearly upset after what happened, but MJF tells him not to say Wardlow’s name. Spears says, “Oink oink, piggy! You wanna get involved, War Dog? You are pissing up the wrong tree, my friend!” MJF calms Spears down and says he’ll make this real simple. Wardlow, MJF prays you show up next week. Because there will be twice as many security guards, and twice as much pain. As far as Dean goes, oh salute the captain! Military man, huh? Thank you for your service, but MJF will do him one better.

Next week, Dean VS MJF II, and there will not be another upset win. But what there will be is a purple heart for Dean, because MJF will hurt him worse than he could ever have been hurt in combat! Now let’s get out of here. And someone fix that damn TV! This is a damn circus! The Pinnacle has issued warnings of their own now, but will they be able to make good on them?

Tables Tag Match: The Hardy Boyz VS The Butcher & The Blade!

Matt & Jeff are always ready to go extreme, especially if it’s for revenge! Will they DELETE Andy Williams & Braxton Sutter? Or will the fix be in again courtesy of the Andrade Family Office?

A thing of note: this is more like a table best of three match, where one team only wins when the other team has had both members crash through tables. And secondly, emphasize crash because there will be counting accidental breaks. An offensive maneuver has to send someone through the tables or it’s just wrecked wood!

As the mercenaries make their entrance, they’re already bring out the furniture! Three tables are put in the ring, and then Blade rips the legs off a fourth! The Hardys make their entrance now and they rush in! The table legs are weapons as the bell rings! That’s new! Butcher CLUBS Matt, Blade CLUBS Jeff! Blade puts Jeff in the ring and stomps him, then props one table up in a corner. Jeff hits Blade back with haymakers, whips, but Blade reverses. Jeff stops himself but Blade CLOBBERS him! Blade throws off his jacket and hat, runs in, but Jeff dodges! Blade CRASHES through, but thanks to the special rules, he’s still in the match!

Butcher scoops Matt and he aims for the timekeeper’s table! But Matt slips off! Then he uses a chair, only for Butcher to DECK Matt anyway! Butcher then gets in and he CLUBS Jeff! Butcher stops Jeff from setting anything up, then he brings the table around to make a ramp. Butcher waistlocks, but Jeff resists the suplex! Jeff fights, Matt gets in, and the Hardys mug Butcher! Fans chant “DELETE! DELETE!” DOUBLE DDT! Both Hardy Boyz position the table, then they drag Butcher over. Butcher is set on the table ramp, the Hardys rain down fists, then Jeff throws off his shift! Jeff goes to the corner, climbs up top, but Blade hurries to trip him up!

Matt rushes over but Blade shoulders into him! Blade reels Matt in, FISHERMAN SCREW! Blade and Butcher coordinate now, and they set the table in position. They suplex and SPEAR Jeff through the table! That’s one point for the AFO as Dynamite goes picture in picture!

Hardy fights off the mercs but they mug him 2v1! They knock Matt down, stomps him, then dig their boots in. They move that broken table aside and set up another. Blade stomps Matt down while Butcher positions the table. That’s a bit tricky but Blade helps out. Blade then goes after Matt, but Matt fights back! HOTSHOT and Blade goes down! The Hardys regroup but Butcher stomps Matt down! Butcher grabs the legless table and props it up against the ring. Butcher props Matt up against that, and then runs in from the ramp! But Matt dodges and Butcher CRASHES through! But much like Blade, it doesn’t count because it was his own doing.

Blade CHOPS Matt against railing and rakes Matt’s eyes! Blade then CHOPS Matt more! And more! Blade brings Matt around but Matt hits back. Blade rakes eyes again! Matt staggers about and swings blind, almost hitting a ref! Blade CLUBS Matt, puts him in the ring, and then he gets a chair. Blade stalks Matt but Jeff anchors Blade’s foot! Butcher CLUBS Jeff and RAMS him into steps, but Matt SMACKS Blade with the chair! Matt then SMACKS Butcher as he gets in the ring! Matt SMACKS Blade again, then clotheslines him out! Matt SMACKS Butcher again, and again, and again as Dynamite returns to single picture!

Fans chant “DELETE!” with every chair shot! Matt drags Butcher onto the table, rains down fists, and then he DECKS Blade as he gets back up. Matt hurries to go to the top rope, and fans fire up as he LEG DROPS Butcher through the table! All tied up, it’s just down to Matt and Blade! Fans fire up with “DELETE! DELETE!” as Matt aims from the apron. But Blade moves, Matt CRASHES through the table! Again, not an elimination but it sure hurts! Blade wants Butcher to get up, they can still finish this. Blade drags Matt up, and whips him into railing! Matt falls over, Blade and Butcher get another table set up.

Fans fire up as Blade stands Matt up for Butcher to ROCK with a haymaker! They then put Matt on that table near the corner. Blade goes up, but Matt fights. Butcher sends Matt over railing, then CLUBS him. Blade brings another chair over, they get Matt up against the railing, and they’re teetering on the edge! DOUBLE SUPERPLEX, but where’d the table go!? All three men just crash to the floor, as it turns out Jeff pulled the table away! And then Jeff uses Butcher to leap off and CLOBBER Blade into railing! Jeff kicks Butcher and hits him with an atomic drop! Leg splitting leg drop!

Jeff kicks Blade, TWIST OF FATE! Blade staggers about, but Matt gets him for another TWIST OF FATE! Matt hobbles, Jeff is bringing out stuff from under the ring. It’s a LADDER! And he RAMS Butcher with it! And again! And again! Butcher goes down in a heap but Matt drags him up, TWIST OF FATE! The Hardys hurry to position tables together, and then have the ladder nearby! They go after Blade and bring him over to put him on the tables! Jeff is climbing, he wants to repeat last week’s wild tornado tag! Matt braces the ladder and fans fire up, SWANTON BOMB through the tables!!

Winners: The Hardy Boyz

And in a big comeback, down 0-1, Matt & Jeff defeat Butcher & Blade! But here comes El Idolo! Andrade, Jose, Bunny and Private Party make their way out, but Matt is ready with a chair! Andrade and his office continue their way down the ramp, but here comes STIIIING! Boston is thunderous as Sting appears on stage, with his BASEBALL BAT! Down goes Quen, down goes Kassidy, and Jose backs off quickly! Andrade uses Bunny as a shield? Sting won’t bash Bunny, so the AFO retreats. But is this far from over between El Idolo and The Icon?

Christian and Jurassic Express speak.

Well, Captain Charisma isn’t really in the mood. He tries to wash out something in his eye, then he CHUCKS the water bottle at the wall! Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus give him his space, and they turn their attention to reDRagon. JB admits those guys are tough, they hit hard, and have some dumbass cauliflower ears. And they’ve been champions all around the world. “But around here, things are determined by the records. And honestly, your guys’ is not even good enough to challenge us for these. But since you’ve been getting involved in our business week after week after week, why don’t we just challenge you?”

Next week, Dynamite, for the AEW World Tag Team Championships! Luchasaurus shouts, “Dragons! Dinosaurs! RAAAGH!” The title match they wanted is happening, will Fish & O’Reilly make the Jurassic Express’ reign go extinct?

AEW hears from Nyla Rose and Thunder Rosa.

The Native Beast tells La Mera Mera, “These past two, three weeks you’ve been champion, I genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, can appreciate your passion for this industry, your passion for Women’s Wrestling.” But Rosa says the last time they were in Texas, Nyla attacked from behind, like the coward that she is. Vickie says Rosa talks about giving women opportunities, but Vickie will send her client any day, any time, any place, any state! Rosa says Battle of the Belts II is in Garland, Texas, and yes, Nyla is getting the opportunity. If Nyla wants this, she can come and take it! Now THAT is a Saturday Fight Night! Will Rosa still be champion after a run in with this Vicious Vixen?

Tony Schiavone interviews Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter.

These two are the first to qualify for the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament. He thanks them for no physicality here, and also notes there is a chance these two meet in the tournament. Toni offers a handshake, citing no physicality. Hayter slaps the handshake away and tells Toni she really hopes to face off in the tournament. All that momentum and star power because everyone loves Toni, stops with Hayter. If anyone deserves to win this tournament, it’s Hayter! Toni says, “Sweetheart, this has only just begun.” These two leave without throwing down, but when and where in the tournament will the Lightning From Down Under strike?

Owen Hart Memorial Women’s Tournament Qualifier: Hikaru Shida VS Julia Hart w/ The Varsity Blonds!

The Full Metal Warrior wants to cut down the Professor of Pro-Wrestling, Serena Deeb, but she also wants her part in history. The same can be said for the Varsity Blonds’ no-longer-cheery cheerleader, but will that new edge be able to match up to Shida’s?

Julia KICKS Shida in the back during her entrance! Griff and BPJ are confused but the bell rings and Shida hits back! Julia pushes Shida to ropes, then chokes Shida with her letterman jacket! The Blonds are again confused, the ref reprimands and counts, and Julia stops at 4. Julia cools off, but then she tells the Blonds to just leave! They don’t get it, but BPJ storms off in a huff and Griff follows in confusion. Julia then handspring forearm smashes Shida in a corner! Julia whips corner to corner, handsprings again, but Shida fireman’s carries to put her on the top rope! TOP SHELF KNEE! Then Shida goes to the apron, runs in and KICKS Julia down!

Shida goes looking under the ring, and she finds a chair! Fans fire up and Shida sets it up, to then LEAP off it, to dropkick Julia down! Fans fire up with Shida and she puts Julia back in the ring. Shida gets in but Julia kicks the rope to jam her up! And then she hits a DDT! Julia rains down fists and CLUBS Shida as Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Julia keeps on Shida, slaps her around, but Shida hits back with body shots! Julia whips Shida to a corner then runs in to back elbow! Julia fires forearms, backs off, then digs her boots in! The ref counts, Julia lets off, and she taunts Shida right to her face. Julia snapmares Shida to then KICK her in the back! Julia CLUBS Shida again and again, but Shida hits back! Shida even pulls Julia’s hair! Julia pulls Shida’s hair, the ref reprimands them both, but Julia throws Shida down! Julia clamps on a chinlock, but Shida throws elbows. Julia gets the arms for a motorcycle stretch! Shida endures again, and fights her way up

Shida turns things around, rolls Julia up, TWO! Shida runs in but Julia slips around to HOOK KICK and STO! Then STANDING MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO! Shida is hanging in this but Julia CLUBS her! Julia puts Shida back on the ropes, and she stands on her with both feet! The ref counts, Julia hops off, and she drags Shida back up. Shida throws hands, ROCKS Julia, and CLUBS her on the back! Shida then brings Julia up but Julia ROCKS Shida back! They go back and forth with forearms, Julia giving as good as she gets! Julia runs, but Shida ROCKS her again! Dynamite returns to single picture as Shida fires off more shots!

Shida drags Julia back up, fires off more forearms, then CLUBS away on Julia’s back! It’s all Julia can do to shield her head and fans are fired up! Shida lets off as Julia flails feebly, and then Shida whips Julia to a corner. Shida runs corner to corner, to KNEE her down! Shida reels Julia in, Julia resists by kicking her legs, but Shida powers through to hit the suplex! Fans fire up, Shida runs, but Julia avoids the shining wizard! Julia goes to the apron but Shida climbs up the nearest corner. Shida brings Julia up to deadlift SUPERPLEX! Cover, TWO! Julia survives but Shida doesn’t lose focus! Shida brings Julia up again, reels her in, Canadian Rack!

But Julia rakes eyes! Fans boo but Julia turns it into a BULLDOG! Cover, TWO! Shida is still in this and Julia is frustrated! Julia decides to go up top, and she TWISTING MOONSAULT FLOPS as Shida moves! SLIDING ELBOW! KATANA KICK!! And then, FALCON ARROW! Cover, Shida wins!

Winner: Hikaru Shida, by pinfall (advances to the Owen Hart Tournament)

As tough and as mean as Julia has become, she’s still not on the level of a former AEW Women’s World Champion! But before Shida can really celebrate, Serena Deeb makes her way out! Or rather, she ambushes Shida! But Shida was ready! Shida has the kendo stick, Deeb has a chair! They’re in a standoff now, but Deeb has an evil smile as she leaves. The Wolf of Wrestling is clearly planning her next attack, but when and where will that happen?

Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland.

Alex Marvez says it was a big weekend for Swerve, as well as some friends at the Grammy’s in Las Vegas. Swerve says it was great, he got to show love to his guys, they won Grammy’s for their work on Kanye’s album. But the weekend had a rough start, Swerve and Keith Lee got put through tables by “Powerhouse” Hobbs and Ricky Starks. This ain’t over, you can bet on that. But for now, Swerve’s gonna get ready for some stuff he’s got to do. But just as Swerve hops into the locker room, he gets jumped by Team Taz! Keith Lee rushes in and he evens the odds! Only to get SMACKED off a table!

Swerve CLUBS Starks, but Starks RAMS Swerve into some cases! But then Keith POUNCES Hobbs through the wall, right into the other part of the locker room! Keith may be limitless, but will he and Hobbs demolish everything in their path as this feud continues?

ROH & AAA World Tag Team Championships: FTR VS The Young Bucks w/ Brandon Cutler!

Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood went into Supercard of Honor champions, and came out DOUBLE champions! They’ve already made history with that feat, but they still need this to solidify themselves as THE BEST tag team of this generation! Will there be no denying FTR’s legacy after tonight? Or will Matt & Nick Jackson deny them that title while also taking these titles?

The introductions are made by none other than ROH’s Bobby Cruise, with the Bucks throwing their jackets at FTR. FTR shrugs that off, then throw their jackets back! All four belts are raised, and we’re going to see who leaves Boston with them and so much more!

The teams sort out, Matt starts against Cash and fans are already fired up! Matt and Cash pace around, Cash and Dax talk strategy, and fans are rallying for “F T R! F T R!” The Bucks don’t sweat it, Matt and Cash tie up, then break. And then they tie up and break. And then the tie up and Cash puts Matt in a corner. The ref counts, Matt turns it around but he lets off, to push Cash. Cash SHOVES Matt down! Cash shows haymaker and the Bucks stay back! Matt and Cash reset, tie up, and Cash gets a leg to tackle Matt. Cash drops for a headlock but Matt rolls Cash to a cover. ONE, Cash holds on but Matt fights up to his feet.

Matt goes around the outside, Cash picks up the headband off the mat to wear it and mock the Bucks’ favorite flex pose! The Bucks regroup, stay cool thanks to Cutler’s spray, and Matt gets back in. Matt runs in but into a drop toehold! Cash wrenches, tags Dax, and then handoff of the wristlock.

Matt powers Dax to the corner, Nick tags in, but Dax gets away. Dax and Nick circle now, they tie up, and Dax headlocks to throw Nick down. Nick fights up, Dax wrenches and wristlocks. Nick grabs ropes and the ref wants the ropebreak. Dax lets off clean, but Nick throws his headband at Dax! Dax catches it, and puts it down his tights! To then THROW at Matt! Nick and Dax tie up, Dax headlocks and Nick powers out. Dax runs Nick over, things keep moving, Nick hurdles but Dax scoops to SLAM! Nick kangaroo kicks, headlock takeovers, but Dax headscissors. Nick kips free but Dax arm-drags him to an armlock!

Fans fire up with the exchange as Nick fights up. Nick puts Dax in the corner, Matt tags but Dax slips out now! The Bucks pursue, Dax gets back in and Cash is there waiting! All four men stand off and fans fire up again. The teams cool off, Matt and Dax circle. Fans duel, Dax and Matt feel things out but Matt sucker punches Cash! So Dax sucker punches Nick! Dax then ROCKS Matt, runs the ropes, but Nick trips him up! Matt runs now, but Cash trips him up! Nick and Cash get in to start throwing hands, so Matt and Dax do the same! Fans are thunderous for this brawl, but Nick DECKS Cash and kicks him out of the ring!

Matt ROCKS Dax, the Bucks double whip, to double hip toss and double handspring basement dropkick! Cash runs in, but he gets the same double hip toss and dropkicks, but he springs right up to DOUBLE LARIAT the Bucks! Fans are thunderous, Cash hurries to his corner and he tags in. Cash blocks Matt’s kick to trip him, and step through, SHARPSHOOTER! But Nick gets in, only for Cash to duck the superkick! Dax trips Nick up and he puts on a SHARPSHOOTER! Fans are electric for the double Sharpshooters! But the ref reprimands Dax, he and Nick aren’t legal! Speaking of not legal, Nick RAKES Cash’s face!

Cash lets Matt go, Dax has no choice but to let Nick go, and Nick DECKS Dax! Cash flounders around, Nick goes out, and the Bucks meet at the corner, CLOTHESLINE ENZIGURI COMBO! Then Matt runs corner to corner again, CANNONBALL ENZIGURI COMBO! Fans fire up but are mixed between cheers and jeers. Nick soaks up the heat either way, and Matt ROCKS Cash with a right hand. Matt CLUBS and ROCKS Cash more, throws body shots, then whips to ropes. Body shot and a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Matt drags Cash to a drop zone, goes up, and drops an ax handle! Matt taunts the crowd and the ref keeps Dax back.

Nick gets his cheap shots in while the ref is distracted, then he and Matt fake a tag. The ref allows it from the clap sound, Nick scrapes Cash and chokes him on ropes! The ref counts, Nick lets off to do his Macho Man impression. Cash flops out of the ring but Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Cash gets up, Nick is on the apron, Nick drops ax handles on Cash! Nick puts Cash in, he drags him to the Bucks’ corner, and he tags in Matt. Matt stomps away on Cash, then he taunts Dax by tossing his hair. Matt goes back to Cash but Cash CHOPS and CHOPS! Matt JAWBREAKERS Cash back, then drags him back up. Matt snapmares Cash, tags Nick, slingshot senton fist drop combo! Dax wants after Nick as he taunts Dax, but the ref keeps him back. Nick facelocks Cash and grinds him down. Cash fights up, fans rally behind him, and Cash powers his way towards the FTR corner! But Nick JAWBREAKERS, too!

Cash flounders, Matt pie faces him! The ref reprimands but Matt kicks Cash! Nick BOOTS Cash, then clamps the facelock back on. Nick headstands to add pressure, then drops down to jam the hold. Cash still endures, fans still rally up, and Cash powers up to BACK DROP Nick away! Matt tags in, he stays between Cash and Dax! Matt DECKS Cash, then sits him up to DECK again! Matt rains down fists, the ref reprimands but Matt lets off to taunt Dax. Matt drags Cash up, wrenches, tag to Nick. Nick CLUBS the bad arm, then headlocks Cash to grind him down. Cash endures all over again, Dax coaches him up and fans rally up.

Cash fights up as Dynamite returns to single picture. Cash throws Nick away, fakes him out, and snap suplexes him down! Matt tags in, he again intercepts, and whips Cash to Nick, only for Cash to dropkick Nick off the apron! Cash then TOSSES Matt out, and fans fire up with Dax! Cash crawls but Matt gets in to anchor the feet! Nick is creeping up on Dax, and as Cash kicks Matt away, Nick SUPERKICKS Dax down! No tag and fans boo as Nick says he’s smarter than FTR. Matt kicks Cash around, drags him back up, and whips him to the corner. The Bucks try again, but Cash dodges and the enziguri becomes a GAMANGIRI on Matt!

Fans fire up again as Cash stands. Nick springboards, into an UPPERCUT! Fans are electric all over again, hot tag to Dax! Dax fires off jabs and haymakers on the Bucks! Snap suplex for Matt! Snap suplex for Nick onto Matt! Dax clotheslines Nick out, CHOPS and uppercuts Matt on repeat in the corner, then only lets off as the ref counts. Nick staggers away and Cash goes after Matt. Matt knocks Cash away but Dax trips Matt up! Dax climbs up, Cash tags in!

Cash goes to the adjacent corner and Dax hits a SUPERPLEX! But Nick springboards up to SUPER STEINER Cash! All four men are down and all the fans are standing for this one! The standing count begins as fans chant for “A E DUB!” Matt tags Nick, they have Cash in the corner, Nick SHINING WIZARDS, ROUNDHOUSES, FOREARMS, and BULLDOG DROPKICK COMBO! Tag back to Matt, Nick goes out to PENALTY KICK Dax! Nick shoulders into Cash, SLINGSHOT FACEBUSTER to the cartwheel, ASAI MOONSAULT gets caught by Dax! BRAINBUSTER to the floor! But Matt WRECKS Dax with a dropkick!

Cover, FTR wins!!!

Winners: FTR, by pinfall (still ROH & AAA Tag Team Champions)

Tony Schiavone wants to know if there’s such a thing as a 10 star match, and y’know what? That might be what this one was! FTR keep both titles AND prove they are truly #TopGuys! The Bucks tried everything but they couldn’t outdo Cash & Dax! Will any team come even close to stopping them now?

My Thoughts:

What an awesome night for Dynamite! Commentary itself was saying this was a PPV level card, and it came damn close. Cole VS Christian was a great opener, and naturally Cole won to keep going up the AEW singles ranks. And of course reDRagon went after Christian to bring Jurassic Express out, along with Hangman coming out to confront Cole. Hangman is becoming Texas Deathmatch man, and that is awesome. He and Cole are going to tear it up on that Rampage. Jurassic Express has a great promo calling out reDRagon and they’re going to have a great match for the tag titles next week.

But then AEW is again undercutting their own Battle of the Belts special. If the tag titles are next Dynamite, and if the world title is on Rampage, the only title match right now for BOTB II is the women’s title! Rosa, Nyla and Vickie had a good promo vignette, and I suppose the women’s titles could both get the spotlight on BOTB II, since Jade and Sterling had a good promo to run down Marina Shafir. But again, two title matches doesn’t make much of a special. As I’ve said because they’ve been hyping this up for weeks, but Rosa will win her match, and Jade will come the closest she has to losing, but the titles stay where they are.

Samoa Joe had a great debut in AEW, Caster had a very good rap, and of course Joe is moving on into the Owen Hart Tournament. Lethal and Sonjay had a good promo to tie things in with ROH, which I feel I’ll have to keep an eye on at least now. Especially with Wheeler Yuta being the ROH Pure Champion. He had a great promo with Best Friends, and it’s all but given that he’ll join Blackpool Combat Club after this week. We got a good cue card promo from #Tammy, or #SamTay, whatever you wanna call Sammy & Tay. Of course they’re going to escalate things with American Top Team, that mixed tag is coming.

Good stuff with Wardlow again beating security guards and distracting Spears while pissing MJF off. Dean wins again, I feel like there could be a loose alliance between him, Punk and Wardlow, all the guys MJF hates. We got great stuff out of JAS and Kingston-Santana-Ortiz. It was great continuity thing to have the bashed up screen just there the whole night after Kingston tossed it. That Six Man is gonna happen, and maybe another. One with Jericho & 2Point0, the other with Jericho, Garcia and Hager. Then we’ll surely get Kingston VS Jericho II at Double or Nothing, and I bet JAS cheats so Jericho wins that.

We got awesome stuff out of the Tables match, and I do like that they made it “elimination” or however you wanna call it. Naturally, the Hardy Boyz win, and naturally AFO comes out after them, only to be backed down by Sting. As I said before, we could end this with Andrade VS Sting 1v1. Hayter and Toni have a good promo segment to hype up the tournament, and to foreshadow that this is at least a semifinal match. Shida VS Julia was great stuff, especially with Julia showing her darker side even more. It’s only a matter of time before Julia takes off that eye patch and she has the same spooky eye as Malakai Black. Deeb showing up was natural, too, and that is probably our other semifinal. Hayter VS Toni, Deeb VS Shida, winners face off in an epic finals.

Great stuff out of Team Taz brawling with Keith and Swerve, especially that Pounce to finish it. They should have a Falls Count Anywhere Tag or something, then we can get Keith VS Starks. Hell, add the FTW Championship to the BOTB II card as like a great opener to hype everyone up. And then that main event, that was no less than Tag Team Match of the Year. You cannot watch that match and act like it was less than the best tag match anywhere in wrestling today. Hell, that was good enough to be in consideration for MATCH of the year. There was nothing weak in that match, I loved every bit of it, and not only are FTR Faces now, they’re practically the top Faces, even over Jurassic Express.

My Score: 9.2/10

Ospreay grabs ropes to stop himself, then he KICKS in return! Cage fights the saido, CLUBS Ospreay on the neck, then whips him to a corner. Ospreay BOOTS Cage away, goes up, but Cage GAMANGIRIS! Cage goes up, but Ospreay slips under! Ospreay tucks Cage in to CHEEKY NANDOS! The fans fire up and Ospreay springboards, PIP PIP CHEERIO! Cover, TWO! Ospreay RANAS Cage into Archer! Cage runs back up, Ospreay slips through the lariat to then lift and tuck! STYLES CLASH!! Cover, Ospreay wins!!

Winner: Will Ospreay, by pinfall

Callis is even more upset because his Murder Machines failed! Or did they? Because now Archer attacks Ospreay from behind! The fans boo, and then chant for “KENNY! KENNY!” but we saw Omega taken out by who knows! The Murder Machines DOUBLE LARIAT Ospreay, then they stand on Ospreay’s face! The fans boo more, but wait! Omega is still making his way out here? And with a chair! Omega dodges Archer, JAMS him up, and SMACKS him on the back! Then he CHUCKS the chair at Cage’s face!! Callis is furious, how is Omega up after what happened to him? Omega swings on Archer but Archer gets outta there!

Omega and Ospreay stand together against Archer, but Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita show up! Now the Callis Family mugs Ospreay & Omega 4v2! This is just like before, and the fans boo as Archer JAMS Omega with the chair! Konosuke scoops Omega, Kyle scoops Ospreay! BASTARD DRIVER AND TOMBSTONE IN SYNC!! The fans boo but Callis stands with his men. Omega tries to fight back but he just gets beat up more! We still don’t have an answer on who the newest Family member will be, but will Callis even need them if they can tear Omega & Ospreay apart before Grand Slam?

Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland.

Well, not quite, as Renee Paquette waits outside his locker room, hoping for a word about Ricochet’s threatening Prince Nana. Wait, Hangman Page barges through, and says no one is in there. Renee asks what Hangman is even doing, he says it is none of her business. Then can Hangman comment on Christopher Daniels announcing the end of his in-ring career? Nope, no time. But then Hangman literally bumps into MJF. These two stare down, but then Hangman moves on. MJF says unbelievable. The Cowboy walks around like he’s King S*it just because the fans like him. No matter what he does, Hangman did nothing wrong~!

But MJF even so much as breathes funny and it is all over for him. How hypocritical. MJF mutters to himself but Renee asks how he feels about Jeff Jarrett’s match where he could win a title opportunity with Moxley. Renee snaps MJF out of ranting to himself, and MJF apologizes, it’s the ADHD. But MJF is not gonna let anybody ruin his mood tonight. Because tonight, he proves his words aren’t just beautiful poetry but prophecy. Tonight, Double J learns that as MJF said, you’re better off making a deal with The Devil than defying him. Jarrett learns that the hard way when he goes out there alone to face one of the most dangerous men AEW has to offer in the man-horse, Claudio Castagnoli!

And that is all because of Jarrett’s narcissism, and his refusal of MJF’s sweetheart deal. MJF has a new offer, and unfortunately for Jarrett, it is one he can’t decline. It goes like this: The Last Outlaw’s Last Ride! Ain’t that great? MJF grins, but will he have to eat his words when Jarrett finds a way to defeat the Swiss Cyborg?

“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs speaks.

“Unfortunately, Big Bill, I wasn’t cleared to travel to Dynamite tonight. But just as we went off that stage on Collision, I told we’re going to Hell. When I’m cleared to come back, I’m gonna show you that Hell is just the beginning.” When and where will The Book of Hobbs finish this chapter with The Redwood?

High Stakes: Jeff Jarrett VS Claudio Castagnoli!

Well, just as the Wolf of Wrestling said, The Last Outlaw is going up against the Death Rider’s workhorse, all for his shot at Jon Moxley and the AEW World Championship! Will Double J win here to go on to “the big one?” Or is this where Jarrett’s ride ends?

The bell rings and the fans rally up for Jarrett. Jarrett and Claudio tie up, go around, go along ropes, and end up in a corner. The ref counts, Claudio lets off slowly, but then takes a swing! Jarrett avoids the cheap shot to UPPERCUT Claudio! Claudio headlocks, Jarrett powers up and out, but Claudio runs him over! Things keep moving, Jarrett drops down then arm-drags! And HIP TOSSES! Jarrett whips, JAPANESE ARM-DRAGS, and the fans fire up! Jarrett puts Claudio in a corner, climbs up, and he rains down fists! The fans count along, but Claudio stops Jarrett at 4 to then atomic drop! Claudio runs, and he LARIATS Jarrett down! Cover, TWO!

Claudio argues with the ref but the count was fair. Claudio drags Jarrett up, reels him in, but Jarrett powers up to back drop free! But Claudio sunset flips, Jarrett rolls through, and Jarrett has the legs! FIGURE FOUR! The fans “WOO~!” while Claudio flails! Claudio crawls over to the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Jarrett lets go fast, and the fans cheer while Claudio bails out. Jarrett waits on Claudio and the fans rally behind “DOUBLE J! DOUBLE J!” Claudio waves to the crowd? Oh, of course! Wheeler Yuta is here! The Decoder is dressed and ready for his match against Jay White, but he looks ready to go now if he has to!

Jarrett storms out and dares Yuta to do something, but the ref has Yuta stay back. Now Claudio waits on Jarrett in the ring, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref has Jarrett leave Yuta alone, and he tells Yuta to stay back. Jarrett returns to the ring, dodges Claudio and puts him on ropes! Jarrett runs to then STRADDLE ATTACK! The fans cheer as Jarrett does the Fargo Strut, then runs back in, only for Yuta to warn Claudio! Claudio dodges and TOSSES Jarrett out of the ring! The ref keeps Claudio from going out there, but that lets Yuta attack Jarrett! Yuta gets away with it all and Claudio goes out the side. Claudio SMACKS Jarrett off the barriers, then stalks him around the way. Claudio then lifts Jarrett to hit SNAKE EYES off railing! Claudio puts Jarrett in the ring and clamps on a COBRA CLUTCH!

Jarrett endures while Claudio thrashes him around. Jarrett fights up, fires body shots, but Claudio HOTSHOTS him on ropes! Jarrett sputters, Claudio kicks him out to the floor, and again the ref keeps Claudio in the ring. Yuta creeps up, but the ref senses him this time! Yuta backs off, Claudio goes out, and Claudio puts Jarrett in the ring. Claudio tells the ref not to worry about Yuta, but then Jarrett fires body shots! Jarrett ROCKS Claudio, fires more shots, but Claudio BOOTS him down! And hits a LEG DROP, brother! Cover, TWO! Claudio clamps onto Jarrett with a chinlock and grinds him down while Dynamite returns to single picture.

The fans rally as Jarrett fights to his feet. Jarrett fires body shots, then powers Claudio to a corner. Jarrett whisp corner to corner but Claudio reverses, then follows in for an UPPERCUT! Snapmare and cover, TWO! Jarrett toughs it out and the fans rally some more. Claudio grabs the legs, but Jarrett kicks him away! Claudio comes back to DOUBLE STOMP! Cover, TWO! Jarrett stays in this and the fans cheer, but Claudio gives scuffing, mocking kicks. Claudio whips but Jarrett catches him for a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! The fans fire up and both men stand. Winner: Claudio Castagnoli, by pinfall (denies Jeff Jarrett a world title match)

Marina Shafir is also ringside now, just to hold up the briefcase that holds the world title. The Death Riders screw Double J over, but it took almost ALL of them to do it! Is this a sign that they fear Double J’s grit and determination? As for the Last Outlaw, he slowly sits up from taking all those big shots, the fans cheering him on. Jarrett thanks the fans, but here comes MJF… Jarrett sighs while he struggles to stand up, and MJF struts out here with another stupid grin on his face. MJF goes right to the ring, mic in hand, and he tells Jarrett, “I just wanted to come out here to say…” HE CLOBBERS JARRETT WITH THE DYNAMITE DIAMOND RING!!

The fans boo as MJF grins again and stands over Jarrett. MJF picks the mic back up to say, “As you know, I truly respect my elders. And that’s precisely why I’m not gonna say I told you so.” MJF leaves Double J behind, but will the Scumbag actually man up and go for gold? Or is he just going to wait it out while The Maniac continues his reign of terror?

Backstage interview with Ricochet.

Renee is with the One & Only and says earlier today, she tried to get a word with Swerve Strickland, but he is nowhere to be found. But she has been informed that should Swerve interfere in Ricochet’s match tonight, Swerve will effectively forfeit the match the two of them were set to have next week in Atlanta. Really? Ricochet likes that. Because finally, Swerve is out of Ricochet’s business. Well, Renee knows Ricochet has a lot he wants to get off his chest, so what’s on his mind? Ricochet says no, no, we aren’t doing this right now. Look at how Ricochet is dressed. Does she take him for some kind of hoodlum?

No, they will do this in a more formal setting this Saturday on Collision. As for tonight, “the powers that be” have decided to further bully Ricochet by putting him in a match against AR Fox one week before one of the biggest matches in Ricochet’s career. So if you don’t mind, let him take care of that situation real quick. Renee wishes him luck but he says no need. The music hits and Ricochet makes his entrance. Will Dynamite be #OuttaThisWorld? Or will it be the Whole Fox’n Show?

Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall

That was indeed #OuttaThisWorld, but Fox gave as good as he got right to the end! But Ricochet brings out the golden scissors!? BUT WAIT! SWERVE IS HERE! Swerve trips Ricochet and throws him into the barriers! The fans fire up as Swerve fires off on Ricochet, then throw shim around ringside! And then into steel steps! Ricochet sputters and Swerve snarls, and then Swerve puts Ricochet in the ring. But then Ricochet uses Fox as a shield! Ricochet even has the scissors against Fox’s neck to threaten him like he did Nana! Swerve stands down and Ricochet retreats. But with one week to go, will Ricochet enter Swerve’s House only to NOT make it out in one piece?

AEW shares a snippet from Closeup with Renee Paquette.

We got a little taste on Saturday during Collision, now we get a little more as Renee asks Jon Moxley about the AEW World Championship itself. From the moment Moxley won it, he’s kept it hidden. First a garbage bag, now the briefcase. Why is it Moxley is essentially holding this title hostage? Moxley asks back why anyone needs to see the belt. What does anyone get out of it? Do they want to take a picture of it? Is this a petting zoo? Why does anyone need to see it when they don’t know anything about it? They don’t understand it on any level. They don’t understand what a world championship means, what it is about, what it takes to be a world champion.

Moxley IS the AEW World Championship! He is the living definition of what it is to be a champion. Want to see it? Take a look at it, because it’s right here. HE is the AEW World Championship, it lives here. It isn’t something you hold, it isn’t something you show off, it isn’t something you take pictures with. It lives in the heart! It has to be cultivated, grown, forged in the white hot fires of struggle and combat. And as we heard from Collision, Moxley is trying to build a THOUSAND Moxleys! He wants to backfill AEW, so that means he must put them through what he went through, and maybe even worse.

The Maniac’s reign of terror is much deeper than we knew. But will it ever come to an end?

The Learning Tree speaks.

Chris Jericho says, “Hi, guys~! Welcome to another New York Minute, coming to you live this week from Huntsville, Alabama, home of the Crimson Toad.” Bryan Keith adds, “ROLL TOAD!” Jericho says a lot is going on with The Nueve, like his new movie, Dark Match, premiering in theaters and on Shudder this Friday night. It’s violent, it’s gory, it’s fun, just like The Learning Tree! But speaking of violent, we also saw last week on Collision, Big Bill took out Will Hobbs! Tells us about it, Redwood! Bill says what “LT” said last week really struck a chord with him. It is one thing for Bill to share the teachings of Jericho with the world, but it’s another to put those words into action.

Bill feels now that he understands Jericho’s words in a way that he never did before. He feels… Stronger. Jericho says yes, when he hears Bill say that, it makes Jericho very proud. Jericho is very proud… of himself, for being such a great mentor! And Jericho told Bill to take out Hobbs, but permanently. Bill didn’t do that, so Bill will have to work a little bit harder next time. But Bill will get that chance again this Saturday, as Jericho & Bad Apple Bryan Keith take on those other heathens who beat them in that 12 Man Tag at Maximum Carnage, The Outrunners! Jericho says the Outrunners claim to have been around for decades, but Jericho’s never seen them anywhere but AEW, EVER!

Keith says that’s a Mandela Effect! Jericho says this Saturday, The Youngest Men Alive get taught a lesson from the smartest men alive, and Big Bill will make Jericho proud for real this time. That’s all! Another New York Minute! Thanks, guys~! Jericho’s cocky smile turns into a sneer, but will he and Keith really bring down Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum? Or will the Learning Tree get a Total Recall?

The fans rally, Yuta storms up, but White CHOPS again! White roars, the fans fire up, but Yuta kicks the bad leg! White falls back, Yuta mocks the roar, then he storms up on White in the corner. “It’s a little different, huh? It’s a little different because it’s even, it’s an even fight right now. Death Riders, I know how you operate. And here’s the thing, I don’t hate how you operate. But what I do hate is when you try to end a 67-year-old man who is my idol, Ricky Morton. That’s what I got a problem! Right now, tonight, one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, one half of the greatest tag team, The Midnight Express, Dennis Condrey, is here! In Dennis Condrey’s name, on Collision, FTR VS The Death Riders, in a Midsouth Street Fight!” The fans like the sound of that! Dax says, “See y’all there.” Will the Top Guys make sure The Death Riders finally get what they deserve?

Renee Paquette is on stage.

She welcomes out the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May! The Glamour walks out on stage, says it is great to be in Huntsville, “but looking around, maybe we should change the first letter to a C?” The fans get what she means, but Renee moves things along. We have seen the metamorphosis of “Timeless” Toni Storm, who Mariah will be defending the title against at Grand Slam: Australia. Mariah seemed a bit shaken- Oh, wow, we’re doing this? Toni Storm playing the part of Toni Storm, the RETURN~ of Toni Storm! This isn’t real, Renee! None of it is! Toni Storm is NOT real! Mariah then snatches the mic from Renee while the fans chant “TONI! TONI!”

Mariah scowls at the fans, then says, “You want to play the role of Toni Storm? Okay, why don’t you play the Toni Storm who gave her heart to a woman who used her for her gold? No, no, why don’t you play the Toni Storm who’s most memorable moment was bleeding and crying in my hands?” The fans boo but Mariah says maybe Toni should play the Toni who walked out of Wembley Stadium and Japan and Mexico, because she couldn’t touch Mariah. Mariah smirks while fans boo, and Mariah says Toni can play whatever Toni she’d like, because the ending stays the same. Mariah doesn’t need to rope play. When you’re this good, you don’t need to change a thing.

Mariah says, “I am the Woman From Hell, and I always will be. And I will remind you for the rest of your life. Look now and never forget, for this is your AEW Women’s World Champion!” Mariah holds up the title, but with just over two weeks left, will she lose it all to the woman she took it all from?

AEW checks on on The Gunns.

Austin & Colten have been watching from home, looking back on their rise to the top, and working on making it back. When and where will it be #GunnsUp again?

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

On top of Jericho & Keith VS The Outrunners, we will see Samoa Joe & Hook team up against Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian! Will The Patriarchy’s “sons” be able to stop the Samoan Submission Machine and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil? Then, after hearing Mariah speak tonight, “Timeless” Toni Storm will give her response! And then, after the tense stare downs from last week’s Homecoming, Daniel Garcia is putting up his TNT Championship in a Triple Threat! Kyle O’Reilly and Lee Moriarty are stepping up, but will either of them take this title from Red Death?

The Hurt Syndicate speaks.

Montel Vontavious Porter says, “Normally, we would gloat. But we’re gonna celebrate. First, because we’re classy gentlemen who conduct business, I would like to recognize the former AEW Tag Team Champions, Private Party. Zay, Quen, they’re warriors, they fought hard. It wasn’t their fault they ran into the most devastating tandem in ALL of professional wrestling. These tag team titles are going to stay here as long as we want them. We are putting everyone on notice. The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. The Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin. Hurt Syndicate will accept any challenge from any challenger. Any time, any place.

“We are the Hurt Syndicate, and we hurt people.” Then who will dare step up against this dangerous and powerful pair?

The Don Callis Family speaks.

Don Callis himself says, “We are the true one-percenters of professional wrestling.” Konosuke Takeshita is not only the AEW International Champion, he is the NEVER Openweight Champion after defeating Shingo Takagi at WrestleKingdom 19 and Tomohiro Ishii at WrestleDynasty. They will do what they do everywhere in the world, whatever ring they step into, and win 1-2-3! Will that be the case when AEW arrives in Australia?

The Vendetta speak.

Taya Valkyrie has the cameraman come in close. “Moments from now, we’re gonna witness Mercedes Mone defend her TBS Championship VS Yuka. UGH!” Deonna Purrazzo says, “We both know that could have been me, it should have been me, and it would have been me, if it wasn’t for Harley Cameron.” Taya says Harley loves sticking her “balloons” where they don’t belong, and Deonna says this world wasn’t built for women like them. That is why they must TAKE what they deserve. So Harley, now you belong to The Vendetta. Saturday Night Collision, they are coming to collect. The Virtuosa then dismisses the cameraman, will Harley pay for doing the right thing?

AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Yuka Sakazaki!

The CEO may be the FOUR-BELT BOSS, but she is still up for a challenge. She turned down Harley Cameron as Harley hasn’t won anything on AEW TV, ever. But then Harley made sure the Wrestling Magical Girl had a fair chance in Homecoming’s Fatal 4 Way last Saturday Night Collision. Will Yuka thank Harley for that by defeating Mone? Or will The CEO still be the Face of TBS?

The introductions are made, the AEW belt is raised, and we see if Mone holds onto the hardware!

The bell rings and the two circle. Mone and Yuka tie up, go around, and the fans are on Yuka’s side. Mone wrenches, wristlocks, but Yuka spins, wrenches, and wristlocks in return. Yuka bails out, Mone builds speed, but Yuka blocks the basement dropkick! Yuka spins Mone around, then says neener-neener!

The fans fire up with Yuka and she goes up the corner! Mone stands, Yuka aims, but Mone scrambles away! The fans boo and Yuka pouts. Yuka hops down while Mone wags her finger. Yuka goes to the apron, kicks, but Mone blocks! Mone trips Yuka, Yuka hits the apron, and then Mone goes up! METEORA to the floor! The CEO does her dance again, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Mone soaks up heat while the ref checks Yuka. Yuka’s still in this, so Mone stands her up. Mone brings Yuka around the ring in a mocking victory lap, then THROWS her into the apron! Mone CHOPS Yuka, puts her in the ring, then covers, TWO! Yuka stays in this and Mone is frustrated already. Mone drags Yuka up, brings her around, and bumps her off buckles. Yuka tries another kick, Mone blocks that, and Mone puts Yuka in the ropes. Mone ROCKS Yuka, then hits the STOCK DROP! Cover, TWO!

The fans fire up as Yuka climbs and fires forearms! The fans count along, Yuka hits TEN, and then brings Mone up! SUPERPLEX! Both women are down but the fans fire up! Yuka crawls her way over, covers, TWO!! Mone survives and Yuka grows a bit frustrated. Yuka drags Mone up, wrenches and hammerlocks, then she picks Mone up! MERRY-GO- NO! Mone slips free, Gory Especial, MONEY- NO!! Yuka lands out!! SUPERKICK!

Mone staggers around, Yuka wrenches and hammerlocks again! MERRY-GO-ROUND~ FACEBUSTER!! Cover, TWO!! Mone still survives and now Yuka is angry! Mone crawls to a corner, Yuka runs in, but Mone ELBOWS her away! Mone goes up to get Yuka for DEADLY NIGHTSHADE! And then BACKSTABBER into the STATEMENT MAKER!! Yuka endures the crossface, reaches out, rolls Mone, TWO!! Mone swings, misses, and Yuka ROLLING ELBOWS! Mone drops to her knees, Yuka rolls her into the SEATBELT! TWO!! Mone escapes and goes back to a corner. Yuka runs up, blocks boots, and she puts Mone in the ropes!

Yuka ENZIGIRS, then DRAPING GERMAN SUPLEXES! The fans are thunderous while Mone flounders! Yuka goes up the ropes, MAGICAL GIRL SPLASH onto knees!! Mone saves herself, cradles Yuka, TWO!! Yuka escapes, but Mone KNEES her in the face! And then a POWERBOMB! Mone flips Yuka over, hooks her into the Gory Especial, MONEY MAKER!! Cover, Mone wins!

Winner: Mercedes Mone, by pinfall (still AEW TBS Champion)

Mone got quite the fight from Yuka, but she not only holds onto this title, but she stays the FOUR BELT BOSS! Will anyone ever end The CEO’s world domination?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, and it moved rather smoothly. I can’t be sure, but it felt like there was less talking and more story told through action. Great opening match from Ospreay VS Cage, and they hit all the beats: Omega got attacked backstage; Ospreay still wins despite Archer and Callis getting involved; Don Callis Family beats Ospreay up; Omega makes the save; Don Callis Family still beats him and Ospreay up. I feel like the teaser of the “sixth man” was a little soon if Ospreay & Omega were still going to be on the defensive, but maybe we’ll see the reveal during the tag match for Grand Slam: Australia. It would certainly be a big moment for their newest “biggest show.”

Plus, great story intertwining, it was a bit like the AEW of old. Hangman looking for Swerve but not finding him, then bumping into MJF was good stuff. MJF of course talked smack on Jarrett before Jarrett VS Claudio, and Jarrett VS Claudio was some great stuff. But wow, Moxley needing to get involved to screw over Jarrett? I feel like Claudio could’ve just given Jarrett a low blow and it would’ve been the same. But I suppose Jarrett really being down and out gave MJF his opening to add on, which of course all but guarantees we’re getting MJF VS Jarrett, probably also for Grand Slam: Australia. Again, it’s AEW’s new big special, they’re not having MJF miss that.

Ricochet had a good promo getting all cocky because he thought he was safe, and then he had a great match against AR Fox. Swerve appearing from under the ring (at least I think that’s where he was, the cameras didn’t catch where he came from) was great, and he got to beat up on Ricochet a bit. Ricochet still got away before Swerve could truly stand tall, but this was the go-home to their match next week in Atlanta, and Swerve certainly has the edge on Ricochet. That would usually indicate Swerve loses, and I could see Ricochet cheating to do it. I feel like they could easily set a bigger, better match for Grand Slam, maybe even Revolution, we’ll have to wait and see.

Good snippet from that Moxley interview for Closeup, thought it didn’t add too much to what we got on Collision last week. White VS Yuta was a great match, and while White won, the Death Riders of course came out to go after him. That then of course brought out Rated FTR, but surprisingly no brawl. FTR putting out the challenge for the Midsouth Street Fight is good stuff, and that match will be some awesome stuff, and also hard to call. We also got a good vignette from The Gunns, so maybe we will get them returning to help White against the Death Riders, and then we can actually get a World Trios Championship already.

Good promo from Hobbs to explain why he couldn’t be here tonight, and this was surely legit given that wild fall off the stage in Daily’s Place. Any number of bumps, scrapes, bruises and such could’ve happened when crashing down through tables and hitting the ground, and Hobbs is still only just returning from injury, they can’t risk him getting injured again. Good “New York Minute” from The Learning Tree, but the highlight was Jericho’s continued condescending towards Big Bill. Bill really needs to turn on Jericho before this story is over, and I’d love if Bill also ranted about all the things Jericho got wrong about the USA while trying to be “The King of New York.”

Good promo from Mariah to respond to that confrontation with Toni Storm, and Toni’s promo on Collision will surely be good stuff. Good promo from Vendetta, I feel like whatever match they have with Harley should end up Harley’s win. Then Harley can throw that win in Mone’s face because she wants that title shot in Australia. Speaking of, awesome main event from Mone VS Yuka, probably one of Yuka’s best matches in AEW. But of course Mone won, she’s been going strong and probably will keep going until Kamille comes back or we get another crossover of AEW, NJPW and other partners, aka Forbidden Door: London.

My Score: 8.9/10

Attitude of Aggression

The Attitude Of Aggression returns for the 10th Annual Swaggy Awards, our annual celebration of the best-of-the-best in pro wrestling for 2024. After a fantastic discussion in Part 1, the boys return for Part 2. And if you thought the discussion in Part 1 was epic…. well, you haven’t heard anything yet. Here on Part 2 of the Swaggys, Dave was again joined by PC Tunney, Kinny Killa, Rob from The Mindless Wrestling Podcast, and the one and only Rey Ca$h. But we also welcome Andrew Balaz to the discussion this time around. Here on Part 2, the gang passed out virtual hardware in categories such as Moment of the Year and Upset of the Year. But Part 2 is mostly about the big categories: The Best Matches of the Year and the Best Wrestlers of 2024. All that and much, much more, including an unsanctioned award a Decade in the making (IYKYK). You never know what will happen on the Swaggys. Who walked away with the gold and the glory here on Part 2? Did we get any unanimous winners this time out? Tune in and find out.
