Darby tells Comoroto to back off, but Comoroto throws his toothpick at him like a bootleg Bad Guy. So Darby CLOBBERS Comoroto with it! And again, and again! Karter proved he’s worth something, but Darby proved it’s not enough! Will The Relentless One keep rolling until he’s looking at some gold?
Backstage interview with Keith Lee.
Renee Paquette notes she tried to get a word with the Limitless One last week, but can he give her anything about him and Swerve Strickland? Keith says it is an ongoing conversation, all he can say is… SHANE TAYLOR walks in?! A former ROH World Television Champion and former tag partner of Keith’s is now in AEW! And he’s here to ask Keith, “What is it with you and leaving family, dog?” Keith left Swerve behind two weeks ago, JD in Dallas, and Shane in ROH six years ago. Shane became the greatest ROH TV Champion of all time, but the business here is far from over.
So Shane says they settle this at ROH Final Battle! Shane Taylor & JD Griffey VS Keith Lee and… Well, he may wanna find some help. Swerve walks in now with a big smile on his face. Keith sighs. He asks Swerve, “Can I even count on you, dude?” Swerve takes off his sunglasses but doesn’t say anything. Is Swerve In Our Glory going to have one final battle together?
AEW hears from La Faccion Ingobernable and The Dark Order.
Jose the Assistant says, “After months of planning, La Faccion Ingobernable pulled off what nobody expected.” As for John Silver & Alex Reynolds, Silver says they were shocked. The Dark Order has been through a lot together, and for Preston Vance to do something like that blows his mind. The wounds for Silver & Reynolds will heal. But what Vance did to Negative One, Brodie Lee Jr., no one was there for him more than Vance. One day, they will all meet face to face one day, and that is when Vance realizes he made the biggest mistake of his life. But Rush says the Ingobernable Era is about to begin! Will nothing stop LFI now that they have Number 10?
Renee Paquette is in the ring.
She wants Indianapolis to help her welcome the AEW World Tag Team Champions, the Acclaimed! And as such, Max Caster says, “Yo! Listen! Acclaimed calling out any team that wants drama! We make ’em say sorry like they were Balenciaga! We got the tag division getting worked up cuz we stay winning like Americans in World Cup. And Jeff Jarrett’s talking out his anus. You can’t throw your weight around like you’re Glenn Jacobs! Homie, this ain’t TNA. In All Elite, Everybody Loves The Acclaimed!” Bowens takes the mic to say, “INDIANAPOLIIIIIS~! The Acclaimed have arrived! SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS~!” And so Billy Gun scissor fingers~!
Fans sing, “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” Renee says that the tag titles look really nice on them, but it begs the question: what’s next for The Acclaimed? Bowens can’t answer that without first addressing last week’s Dynamite. Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett went and interrupted the scissoring! Fans boo that. Bowens says them doing that can only mean one of two things. One: they’re jealous that EVERYONE LOVES THE ACCLAIMED! Or two: They wanna shot at the tag titles. Well guess what? You can’t cut the line, and Jeff Jarrett’s Colonel Sanders lookin’ ass just has to wait! Especially because there is a tag team that has been waiting a very, very long time to get their shot first.
Fans chant for FTR, and Bowens says The Acclaimed ARE fighting champions! Caster says, “That’s right!” Bowens says, “We are the Forever Champs!” “That’s right!” “We are the People’s Choice!” “That’s right!” “The People’s Voice!” “That’s right!” “And the people’s voices have been screaming that they want The Acclaimed to fight the best!” Fans fire up for that, but then here come the Gunn Sons, Austin & Colten. The fans boo because that’s not FTR, those are the “ASS~ BOYS!” Austin says look, their old friends, The Acclaimed and “Billy.” But The Acclaimed want the best tag team in the world? “WELL YOU’RE LOOKING AT ‘EM!”
Wait, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh make their way out here. Sonjay asks what the Gunns are talking about. When he looks at them, all he sees are… ASS BOYS! Fans fire up for that! Sonjay tells the Gunns that what they’re looking at is a two-time Hall of Famer, the best pro-wrestler in the world, and they will show everyone why THEY are the greatest tag team today after they beat Private Party’s asses! Billy has everyone hold on. Fans cheer for Daddy Ass and he says, “Maybe you guys misunderstood what we said, but what we said was, ‘We want the best.'” And here comes F T R!!
Indy fires up as the THREE BELT CHAMPIONS, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood, with their AAA, IWGP and ROH World Tag Team Championships, head to the ring. FTR offer handshakes, and The Acclaimed take it! Fans fire up, it looks like we have a title match made for THIS WEDNESDAY! Will The Acclaimed stay the Forever Champs of AEW? Or will FTR go from three to FOUR pairs of titles draped on them at once?
AEW looks closer at the grudge between Hikaru Shida, Penelope Ford & The Bunny.
The Full Metal Warrior herself says “Holy Shida was on a Rampage, and somebody tried to ruin it.” Allie the Bunny says she spent the last six MONTHS rehabbing her neck, “watching other people get opportunities that I deserved.” Shida says if Bunny has something to say, then let’s go. But it will be for the Regina de Wave Championship! The Bunny says she’ll take that title, and make Shida feel how she felt, watching someone else take what was hers. Will The Bunny bring some gold to La Faccion? Or will nothing stop the wave of momentum Shida is riding?
Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett w/ Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh VS Private Party w/ Matt Hardy!
Team Double Jay is already waiting, and already promising a big win here tonight. But Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy have been known to defy expectations before, so will they do that here tonight? Or will the Last Outlaw and his lethal tag team partner prove they are the best team today?
The teams sort out and Kassidy starts against Lethal. They circle, tie up, and Kassidy gets around to headlock. Lethal back suplexes but Kassidy lands on his feet. Lethal blocks Kassidy’s hip toss but then Kassidy slips up and around him to arm-drag! Lethal stagger sup, Kassidy whips but Lethal reverses. Kassidy ducks the lariat to waistlock but Lethal elbows free! Lethal stomps Kassidy to the corner, tags in Jarrett, and fans boo as Jarrett and Lethal mug Kassidy. Jarrett stomps the mudhole, whips but Kassidy reverses to hip toss! Jarrett gets up, Kassidy pops ‘n’ locks, but Jarrett dodges the haymaker to DECK Kassidy!
Fans boo but Jarrett is feeling himself. Jarrett drags Kassidy up but Kassidy wrenches free! Tag to Quen, he leap frogs to HIP DROP the arm! Kassidy BOOTS Lethal, Quen kicks Jarrett, and Private Party whips Jarrett to the corner. Quen sets up, Kassidy runs in, squealing PARTY IN MOTION! Then feed to the DROPKICK! Quen covers, TWO! Quen wrenches, tags Kassidy and Kassidy goes up to DOUBLE STOMP the arm! Kassidy struts a la the Nature Boy, and he mocks Jarrett. Jarrett swings, Kassidy blocks, but Jarrett pokes Kassidy in the eye! Then Jarrett DECKS Kassidy! Fans boo, especially as Sonjay struts.
But Hardy pulls Sonjay off the apron! Sonjay gets heated, but it’s Satnam who steps to Hardy! Hardy backs off from the giant, but Lethal drags Kassidy out to RAM him into steel steps! The numbers game is paying off as Rampage goes picture in picture. Hardy helps Kassidy up but Lethal goes out to kick Kassidy down! Lethal RAMS Kassidy into the steel steps! The is busy reprimanding people and that allows Sonjay to get some stomps in! Lethal and Jarrett add theirs, then drag Kassidy up to put him in the ring. Jarrett stomps Kassidy more and more, then tags Lethal. Double Jay double whip but Kassidy reverses to send Lethal at ropes.
Lethal holds ropes to stop himself, and Jarrett hooks Kassidy up for a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP! Lethal adds a basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Kassidy reaches out but Lethal keeps him from Quen. Lethal bumps Kassidy off buckles, tags Jarrett in, and Jarrett drags Kassidy up to bump off more buckles. Jarrett whips Kassidy corner to corner hard, and Kassidy bounces off buckles. Jarrett puts Kassidy on the ropes to CHOKE him, then he runs to STRADDLE ATTACK! Jarrett struts now, as does Lethal and even Satnam. Jarrett then runs to LARIAT Kassidy down! Lethal applauds, tags in, and he covers, TWO!
Lethal CLUBS Kassidy down, covers again, TWO! Lethal rains down furious fists but the ref reprimands about the closed fists. Lethal looms over Kassidy, drags him back up, and snap suplexes! Lethal lets out a big “WOO~!” and then grins as AEW goes to break.
Rampage returns and Lethal has Kassidy in a facelock. But Kassidy NORTHERN LIGHTS Lethal away! And then Kassidy springboard STUNNERS Jarrett down! Kassidy dodges Lethal and hot tags Quen! Quen ROCKS Lethal, bumps him off buckles, then springboards to CROSSBODY! Fans fire up as Quen ducks ‘n’ dodges to flapjack DROPKICK! Fans fire up more as Quen DIVES onto Jarrett! Quen is all fire dup and he high-fives fans. Quen gets in, Lethal sends him out but Kassidy is there! SILLY STRING! Quen hurries up top but Jarrett storms over. Quen DECKS Jarrett, 450s, but has to bail out as Lethal moves!
Quen clutches his rib but Lethal goes after Kassidy. Kassidy kangaroo kicks Lethal into a schoolboy! But the ref is busy with Kassidy! Jarrett gets in to wrench and KNEE Quen! Lethal runs, handsprings, LETHAL INJECTION STROKE COMBINATION! Cover, Team Double Jay wins!
Winners: Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett, by pinfall
Jarrett insists the ref raise his and Lethal’s hands in victory, and Aubrey Edwards obliges. Will Jay & Double J prove they’re the best by climbing those AEW Tag Division rankings?
Renee Paquette interviews Saraya.
They’re having their promised sit-down interview two weeks after Saraya won her big return match at Full Gear. How is she feeling after her first match in over five years? Saraya legit has chills even now thinking about it. It was an emotional moment because she never thought she was getting in the ring again. Especially after five long years, yet also oddly short. Five years is long in pro-wrestling, though, and going out there again, it was incredible. What was it like to just talk to her family about this? The Knights are born and bred for wrestling, her brother was there that night. What was that like?
It was incredible having her brother, who has been there for her since day one. He even dressed as the Pink Power Ranger for her first match to be there. He had full on supported her, canceled all other plans, and was just as fired up as she was. She couldn’t help but run up to him to hug it out. Full Gear overall was a huge show, but especially Saraya’s moment for her and the Women’s Division. What is the big takeaway? Full Gear was a special night for the AEW Women’s Division with three matches on one night. Saraya was proud to have had that match with Britt Baker. Britt helped Saraya in many ways as someone who just came back from neck surgery.
Saraya is also proud of Jamie Hayter winning the title, that was a big deal. And even Toni Storm. Saraya saw the interview Renee had with Toni about wanting the title back. Saraya wants all the women here to know that she wants the title, too. It will be her and everyone going head-to-head. Renee looks forward to that, but when and where will The Revolution prove AEW is her house?
Athena VS ???
The Fallen Goddess has never been more dangerous. Dark and Elevation have brought out that dark side, and she’s gunning for the OG Badass and the ROH Women’s World Championship at Final Battle! But will she have a bit more than just a tune-up in Dani Mo?
The bell rings, Athena and Dani approach, and Athena DECKS Dani! Athena smirks, brings Dani up and snap suplexes! Una Amiga! Another snap suplex! Dos Amigas! Then the ANARCHY for the third! Cover, but Athena lets off! Athena plays like she’s surprised, but then she argues with the ref. Athena corners the ref and dares him to do something, but Dani rolls Athena up! TWO!! Dani hurries up to ROUNDHOUSE Athena! Athena shrugs it off?! Athena DECKS Dani again! And then rains down clubbing forearms! Athena roars and Indy fires up as she drags Dani back up. Athena RAMS Dani into the corner then STOMPS her down!
Athena soaks up the cheers and jeers then goes back for Dani. A fan shouts, “I love you, Athena!” and she says back, “I know.” Athena drags Dani up, reels her in, and gut wrenches to a CLIFFHANGER GUTBUSTER! Cover, Athena wins!
Winner: Athena, by pinfall
But winning isn’t enough for Athena as she drags Dani back up. Fans boo as Athena suplexes to GOURD BUSTER Dani out of the ring!! Dani tumbles but Athena goes out after her again. Athena RAMS Dani into railing, drags her up again, and then RAMS her into steel steps! Dani goes down in a heap and Athena calls out Mercedes! “Mercedes~! Come out and play~!” But when Mercedes doesn’t appear, Athena turns her attention back to Dani. More refs rush out to stop this, and Athena says alright. But then she blasts past them to METEORA Dani into the steel steps! The refs reprimand again, but Athena threatens Aubrey!
Fans boo but Athena grins as she takes her leave. Will this new darkness be what brings Athena into the golden spotlight?
Juice Robinson speaks.
“For those of you who don’t know who I am, my name is Juice Robinson. And I’m a former three-time IWGP United States Champion. I’m here to issue a challenge for December 10th, in Arlington, Texas, at ROH Final Battle, against the King of TV, Samoa Joe, the ROH Television Champion. Y’know, I’ve done a lot in Japan, but I need to prove myself in America. And if I’m gonna be a superstar on television, then I need that ROH World Television title around my waist. Joe, you may be the King of TV now, but kings get dethroned.” Will the Booster boost his own profile by taking one of #TwoBeltJoe’s belts?
Mark Henry talks with tonight’s main eventers.
The World’s Strongest Man says QT Marshall is facing Orange Cassidy for the All-Atlantic title, but is there any reason he chose to make this a Lumberjack Match? Yes, it’s real simple: After what happened last week with The House of Black, QT wants his first championship opportunity to have no shenanigans. Speaking of shenanigans, QT points out how the Best Friends and Danhausen are dressed! By that, he’s pointing out how they’re in flannel and beanies, just like real lumberjacks. QT says their best friend is about to lose his title and they’re treating this like a joke! Danhausen asks, “Is this a joke!?” And they all bring out (plastic) axes!
Cassidy asks Mark, “Are we allowed to bring axes to the ring?” Mark says, “Absolutely not.” Oh. Well, okay. Mark says it looks like there’s been enough talk, but then Cassidy says no, they weren’t done talking yet. Can they get two more seconds? IT’S TIME! For the main event! Well, alright. But axes or no axes, will Cassidy cut down another contender? Or will QT Marshall finally prove he is God’s Gift to Wrestling?
Darby Allin speaks.
“The past few weeks, Full Gear, Rampage, I have been settling some personal scores that have been important to me. And now that those scores have been settled, nothing’s more important to me than winning back that TNT Championship. Samoa Joe. I’m putting out a challenge to you, and you said that you would accept if Wardlow was banned from ringside. This Wednesday in Austin, I’ll do you one more. I’m gonna have Sting banned from ringside, as well, because I want it to be just you and me, Joe.
“These fans chant something. It goes along the lines of, ‘Joe is gonna kill~ you. Joe is gonna kill~ you.’ Well you’re gonna have to bury me with that TNT Championship, because I am not leaving Dynamite without it.” Darby is ready to fight to the death, will he become a TWO-TIME TNT Champion? Or will the King of TV still be #TwoBeltJoe going into ROH Final Battle?
AEW All-Atlantic Championship Lumberjack Match: Orange Cassidy VS QT Marshall!
Not only are The Factor and Best Friends among the Lumberjacks, but so are The Varsity Athletes, The Trustbusters, Chaos Project, Ortiz, Brandon Cutler, Zack Clayton, Ethan Page, Private Party, and even some Indy indie wrestlers. The more the merrier if it keeps QT safe for the House of Black. But will he be able to focus on Freshly Squeezed? Or will Cassidy continue to be a fighting champion?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and with nowhere to run and hide, we see who is truly championship material!
The bell rings and as Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets, QT rushes in! Cassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges and leaps over! Then he SHOTGUNS QT down and kips up! QT bails out but on the Best Friends’ side! They put him in for Cassidy but QT knees low. QT whips Cassidy out to the Factory side of things, but Cassidy fires off “devastating” shin kicks on then, Clayton, Serpentico, and back again. QT runs out but Cassidy whips him around and around into railing! Then back into the ring! Cassidy hurries up top to CROSBODY, but into QT’s arms! BACKBREAKER! Cassidy staggers, QT whips and tilt-o-whirl BACKBREAKERS!
Fans rally for Cassidy but QT drags him up to toss him out. The Firm is there and Ethan tells Hardy to do his job! Hardy says okay, and he helps Cassidy up and into the ring! Fans cheer but Ethan is mad! That’s not what he meant, but that is what Lumberjacks are here for. QT still stomps Cassidy, ROCKS him with a right, then soaks up the heat. Ethan tells Hardy to leave since he’s not willing to play along. But Private Party is also told to stay. Fans boo and Hardy argues with Ethan but Hardy still leaves. QT whips Cassidy corner to corner hard and Cassidy bounces off buckles as AEW goes picture in picture.
QT drags Cassidy up, throws him out the side, and Ari Daivari stomps away on Cassidy! His old buddy, Tony Nese, joins in, as do Josh Woods, Chaos Project and Zack Clayton! They all stomp away, but then Best Friends storm over! They back everyone off and help Cassidy up. Trent puts Cassidy in, but QT is after him already. QT DECKS Cassidy with a right, then covers, TWO! Fans rally and so do the Lumberjacks. QT ROCKS Cassidy, Cassidy staggers away, but QT scoops him to hit a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! QT is annoyed but he stomps Cassidy around. QT has the legs to stomp Cassidy in the gut!
QT paces around, QT mocks Cassidy by putting his hands in his tights. QT then stomps Cassidy more, drags him up again, but Cassidy hits a JAWBREAKER! Cassidy throws body shots, but QT CLUBS Cassidy down! QT rains down fists, the ref reprimands about the closed fists, but QT lets off to get in the ref’s face. QT drags Cassidy up, and tosses Cassidy out! The Varsity Athletes and others stomp away, the Best Friends hurry over again and push them all away. Cassidy gets in the ring but QT is after him again. QT whips Cassidy to a corner but Cassidy tumbles up and out! QT storms over but Cassidy dribbles him off buckles!
Cassidy stops, QT staggers away, and Cassidy climbs up again. QT runs back in but Cassidy moves aside and QT smacks off the corner! QT falls down, Cassidy finishes climbing, and he gives a lazy thumbs up as he FALLING SPLASHES! Cover, TWO!! QT survives and Rampage returns to single picture as Indy rallies up! Cassidy throws off the elbow pad and fires up! But Johnson & Solo rush in! The ref reprimands but Cassidy dodges, and Best Friends get in to clothesline The Factory back out! Fans fire up as Cassidy, Trent & Chuck flex. Then Best Friends DOUBLE PLANCHA the Factory down!
QT handsprings to NEURALIZER KICK! QT drags Cassidy up, suplexes, but STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE hits! Cassidy runs to tilt-o-whirl, but QT blocks and spins Cassidy around! Inverted crucifix and toss, but Cassidy blocks the cutter! Cassidy shoves QT into buckles, then Alabama lifts, but the back gives up! QT pop-up FOREARMS Cassidy, then reels him in! LAST- RANA!! Cassidy then runs to tilt-o-whirl and whirl and whirl and DDT!! Fans fire up and the Lumberjacks all rally! QT flounders but Cassidy kips up! Fans fire up with Cassidy as he runs in at QT, ORANGE- NO, The Factory gets their leader to safety!
Cassidy frowns while Best Friends storm over again. The Factory backs off, Cassidy climbs up but QT GAMANGIRIS! QT drags Cassidy down, shouts, “I’m gonna break his neck!” but DANHAUSEN steps up! Danhausen CURSES QT!! QT mocks it, flips Danhausen off, then the Factory trips Danhausen off the apron! Best Friends go after them, more Lumberjacks join in, but Cassidy Alabama Lifts! APRON BEACH BREAK!! QT flounders, Cassidy aims from the ropes, springboard SWANTON wipes out the Lumberjacks!! Fans are fired up for “Freshly Squeezed! Freshly Squeezed!” as Best Friends and Factory brawl up the ramp!
QT flounders into the ring, Cassidy climbs the corner, but Penelope Ford creeps her way out. The Superbad Girl looks extra bad tonight, but she distracts Cassidy from the apron. The ref reprimands, telling her she has to hop down. But KIP SABIAN appears from outta nowhere! He SHOVES Cassidy off the top, into the DIAMOND CUTTER!!! QT covers, TWO!??! Cassidy survives, and Kip is amused, but QT is furious! QT throws off his elbow pads, runs in, into an ORANGE PUNCH!! And BEACH BREAK!! Cover, Cassidy wins!
Winner: Orange Cassidy, by pinfall (still AEW All-Atlantic Champion)
Kip Sabian isn’t bothered at all. He applauds Cassidy’s resilience, but then Cassidy DIVES onto Kip! Cassidy and Kip brawl, they go up the ramp, Kip bowls Cassidy to the stage! Kip drags Cassidy up as fans boo and he bowls Cassidy more. The Lumberjacks brawl with their own rivals, the Varsity Athletes are going after Ortiz and Isiah Kassidy! Cutler vlogs this all, but then the lights go out!! And when they come back up, THE HOUSE OF BLACK is here!! Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews are staring Nese & Woods down, while Brody King & Julia Hart stand on the stage. Nese rushes in but gets an STO! Buddy JUMP KNEES Woods!
Buddy POP-UP KNEES Kassidy! Malakai & Buddy stomp away on Kassidy, Brody attacks the Lumberjacks on the ramp! Brody joins the others, fans are thunderous for the House as they mug Ortiz! But then Malakai tells them NO, not Ortiz. What? Why? Is there something Malakai sees in Ortiz? But with the bloodlust needing satisfaction, Buddy drags Serpentico up! DANTE’S INFERNO!! Julia applauds and Indy is fired up! And then the House goes after everyone again! The bodies are sent flying around into railing! Will the House of Black rise to tear down all others in their way?
My Thoughts:
A very good Rampage here to set up a lot more as AEW and ROH head for the New Year. Samoa Joe having two titles means a lot more people are after him. Juice Robinson has a good promo to call out Joe for the ROH TV title, and Juice did have a stint in ROH so this isn’t completely out of nowhere. Darby had a great match with Cole Karter, though it was really more Karter had his best match in AEW, or perhaps his entire career. But I like that Darby wants after the TNT title, he is going to have one hell of a match with Joe on Dynamite. That Dynamite is both a Winter is Coming go-home and ROH Final Battle go-home, so it’ll have to be huge.
Speaking of which, Acclaimed VS FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championships, that is huge. It’s happening this Wednesday as opposed to Winter is Coming, so I have a feeling shenanigans help The Acclaimed retain. The Gunn Sons probably cost FTR so that they can have an ROH Tag Team Championship match at Final Battle, which they will then lose because FTR is probably going to help sell networks on ROH under Tony Khan. We got a good tag match out of Jarrett & Lethal VS Private Party, and of course Sonjay & Satnam are the advantage that helps Jay & Jarrett win. They’ll surely climb the ranks and come around to challenge for the tag titles in time for Revolution in March.
Good backstage segment with Shane Taylor showing up in AEW, and get use of continuity in Keith Lee’s career. I remember watching those days when Keith and Shane made a huge splash in ROH as a team, and then suddenly Keith is in NXT. This is going to be good stuff, but I wonder if Swerve ditches Keith to join up with Shane and take over at least the ROH Tag Division. Good interview promo from Saraya, though it did start to blur the lines of kayfabe and reality just a little when Saraya talked about Britt helping her in that match. But naturally, Saraya wants the AEW Women’s Division to get stronger, but also wants to get in on a title scene. I don’t see Saraya being relegated to Dark and Elevation, so maybe they work out something for a Winter is Coming match.
Speaking of women’s championships, good promo from Shida and Bunny to truly bring the Regina de Wave title onto AEW programming. I’m pretty sure Shida retains that title, but it at least counts as something big for Bunny. Great stuff out of Athena really upping her Heel credentials. Fans still wanted to cheer her dominating Dani but Athena made sure they had something to boo with her extracurriculars after the match. Athena VS Mercedes is going to be great for Final Battle, no idea who wins that one. And good promo from LFI and Dark Order. I bet we see some great tag matches of Rush & Vance VS Silver & Reynolds to not only build both factions back up, but help one get going in the tag title rankings so that one of them (probably LFI) can go after The Acclaimed.
And of course, hilarious and great stuff out of Cassidy and the Lumberjacks. Cassidy was of course winning but I was surprised to see Kip Sabian go after him. That should be a good feud since Kip’s trying this new Joker meets Riddler character. And it was great to see the House of Black appear to beat up every Lumberjack around. Though, I wonder what that detail of Malakai sparing Ortiz the finisher was about. Is the House going to recruit Ortiz to their side? Ortiz and Eddie Kingston feuding with the House would be some awesome stuff. But I wouldn’t want Ortiz betraying Eddie, that’s too much like Vance ditching the Dark Order. House of Black should be raising up some names from Dark or Elevation to give them some TV time.
My Score: 8.7/10

Backstage interview with Billie Starkz.
Lexy Nair is with her ROH Minion buddy, and notes that Billie is the first ROH woman entered in the first ever WrestleDynasty International Women’s Cup! Billie, what an opportunity, how are you feeling? She is excited! This is the second chance she’s been waiting for, and- Red Velvet steps in to say more like NO chance. Because see, Velvet is also in that match, and well, she already beat Billie. So her odds are looking really good. But then in steps Leyla Hirsch. And she says lucky for them both, because Leyla’s in this! Leyla beat Velvet once, and just looking at Billie, Leyla knows she can beat her.
Oh but then in steps the ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena! The Minion Overlord defends her bestie and Billie, and says it is finally time for the Athena World Tour! She is the fourth participant, even though, why does she have to qualify for HER show? Athena has beaten Velvet, she’s beaten “Small fry” Leyla, and well… Billie Goat, we all know Athena dog walked her! Velvet says Athena shouldn’t talk to Billie like that. Billie says “Cupcake” doesn’t need to defend her. Things are getting tense already, who wins their way into WrestleDynasty’s massive crossover match?
Backstage interview with QT Marshall.
Lexy is now with QT and says later int he Zero Hour, it is QT VS Big Boom AJ. QT took AJ out last night after the weigh-in, will it be the same here tonight? QT wants Lexy to remember, pronounce it “Mar-shall.” And yes, in QT’s home state of New Jersey, the best part will be QT remembering why he left. It’s a dump! Especially Newark! But AJ is also from New Jersey, and he properly represents this dump. Whether AJ is on the Tonight Show, on TikTok, or here in AEW, he is the epitome of someone from The Garden State: an embarrassment! He’s worse than Bruce Springsteen himself!
And tonight, in a sold out crowd that QT drew all himself, it will be like going to his high school reunion and showing how he is more successful than everyone else. And he’ll do that by walking to the ring, staring down AJ, and bringing the doom! Will QT Marshall make himself the boss of the Zero Hour? Or will it be a BOOM for all of New Jersey when QT loses?
New Year’s Day is a NEW ERA for AEW!
Starting Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, AEW Dynamite will be SIMULCAST on Max! And even bigger, it is the return of Fight for the Fallen! All proceeds go to helping victims of Hurricane Helene in Ashville, North Carolina.
Zero Hour – Fatal 4 Way: Dante Martin VS The Beast Mortos VS Komander VS Buddy Matthews!
Now this is going to be a fast ‘n’ furious match! Angel Dorado, the menacing minotaur, the Commander of Space and the Aussie Juggernaut are all fighting for opportunity, who makes that greater impact?

Rampage returns and…
Lexy Nair welcomes us back, while also welcoming us to the official Full Gear Zero Hour weigh-in. Please welcome first, QT Marshall! The fans boo as QT makes his return to AEW TV, and he shows off the “DOOM” logo on his track jacket. QT steps into the ring and now Lexy welcomes out Big Justice and Big Boom AJ! The fans cheer as the Costco Guys are here, giving out high-fives and fist bumps! QT is already annoyed but Lexy says before we get started, do either of them have something to say? QT steps up to say yes, he does! Enough with the “Boom,” first off! Tomorrow night, QT brings the doom!
QT told AJ 20 years ago that he didn’t have it. 20 years later, AJ still doesn’t have it! The fans boo but AJ just shrugs that off. AJ tells QT that QT’s been waiting those 20 years to get AJ in the ring. But AJ’s been waiting ever since QT tossed those double chunk chocolate cookies! The fans cheer that! But AJ says hold on, hold on. He’s got a special surprise for us. He wants someone real special to be at Full Gear to ring the bell when AJ rings QT’s bell and he Power-Booms QT through this ring. QT asks who. AJ says there’s only one guy that can be. They scratch their chins, and yes, it’ll be THE RIZZLER!!
QT is seething but the fans love it! QT gets to business by taking off the jacket and the sweatpants. QT steps on the scale, flexes, and we get the numbers on the tron: 229 pounds flat for QT! QT is all fired up, he’s bringing that heavyweight build. The fans fire up for AJ, “Bring the Boom! Bring the Boom!” Wait, what? 550?! AJ’s big but not THAT big. QT says this must be why he’s Big Boom AJ. Maybe he should laugh off the double chunk chocolate cookies. Big Justice steps up! And he says we all know QT rigged the scale! Right? Right? But see, that won’t matter when his dad brings that BOOM on Saturday night! Is QT ready?
QT steps up but AJ gets in QT’s way. QT takes a swing! AJ ROCKS QT first! AJ makes sure Big Justice is okay, but then QT hits the DIAMOND CUTTER! The fans boo but QT says that’s gonna be the DOOM! Lexy is with La Mera Mera and brings up how next week will be an ALL LUCHA Rampage. That must be exciting. Rosa is beyond excitement! It is about time they get some lucha libre to spice up Rampage. An open challenge for any luchadora or female wrestler that wants after La Mera Mera! In steps Harley Cameron, wearing a Hologram mask, and putting on a robot voice. “Greetings. I am famed luchadora, Harley-gram, the female counterpart to Hologram.”
Rosa is trying not to laugh as “Harley-gram” officially accepts the open challenge. Rosa tells Harley-gram that she looks familiar. Like a certain someone she beat two weeks ago. Does not compute with Harley-gram. Okay, fine. Compute this: Next week, Rosa will yank her cord and shut her down! OH SHUT UP! What? Uh… Danger! Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! “Harley-gram” runs off and Rosa asks if this is really happening. Rosa sighs, but will she just have to reboot Harley back to factory settings?
Ricochet speaks.

At Full Gear, Takeshita finds out what the world already knows: That Ricochet is not from here. Ricochet is outta this world!” The King of Flight is determined to dethrone The Alpha. A great battle from these factions, but it is Strong Style that wins out! Will this happen again when Ishii goes 1v1 with The Learning Tree? Or will Chris Jericho make sure the Age of Nueve lasts forever and ever?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for the go-home to Full Gear, but it was definitely just a go-home. They’re even ending with the November Rain music video from last Saturday as I type this. Good promo from Ricochet to hype up his match with Takeshita, but that’s still a toss-up to me. A part of me does want Ricochet to have the International Champion so Takeshita can enter the Continental Classic and go after Okada like he was supposed to do just a month ago. It really depends on what the Don Callis Family story is going to be with Ospreay and Fletcher, as The Don Callis Family isn’t losing everything at Full Gear.
Great opening tag of Mariah & Mina VS Nyla & Harley, though I really thought that was going to be the main event. But at the same time, of course Mariah & Mina won. No tease for anything at Full Gear so maybe they’ll wait to surprise us with Toni Storm or something tomorrow. Harley becoming “Harley-gram” just to get a rematch with Rosa was hilarious stuff, as does that “All Lucha Rampage” episode they’re hyping up. But oh look, next week is back-to-back Rampage and Collision on a Saturday just to try and undercut Survivor Series. It won’t matter, I’m still watching WarGames and leaving AEW for after, but it’s nice of them to do everything on one night.
Very good filler match of Juice VS Butcher, that was a strong return to singles action for Juice. Very nice Zero Hour matches but I kinda wish they’d given us a segment on TV to set up Deonna VS Anna rather than just announcing it. Maybe there was something social media had but I’m still not someone who follows all the socials. And that Fatal 4 Way is awesome, can’t wait to see who comes out of that a winner. Good promo overall from Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall, but I’m not sure it needed to be a weigh-in. A press conference style segment would’ve been fine, or even a contract signing, but I guess they just wanted to set up QT’s “lay off the cookies” joke. QT stands tall with his cutter taking down AJ, so you can bet AJ dooms QT in the Zero Hour.
Also great Six Man Tag main event, though I don’t think I’ve ever seen a main event without entrances. Great win for Conglomeration, though, but yeah, Ishii sure ain’t winning the ROH World Championship.
