Darby Allin is still celebrating!
As we all saw to end Rampage, the Relentless One is still AEW TNT Champion! But that great title match was only one, because here comes three more! Starting with…
AEW World Tag Team Championships No Holds Barred: The Acclaimed VS Triple J w/ Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh!
There was controversy in Dynamite’s tag title match that almost gave us new tag team champions! But justice was served, and the Last Outlaw couldn’t stand it! Will Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal win this one on the up and up now that there’s nothing to hold them back? Or will the forever reign of Anthony Bowens & Max Caster continue?
But of course, Platinum Max has a diss track on deck! “How is Jeff Jarrett back up in the mix? If you won, it’d be the new January 6th! You’re a stain on this business, man! I mean, Jeff Jarrett is worse than Vince McMahon! And Lethal is non-essential. He thinks a number two is chewing on Sonjay’s pencil. And you know we gets busy, ripping you a new a-hole in Rip City!” Bowens takes the mic to say, “POOOORTLAAAND~! The Acclaimed have arrived! SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS~!” And he does~! The introductions are made, the belts are raised, but Triple J attacks from behind! Fans boo but the bell rings to make this official!
Lethal stomps Caster while Jarrett throws hands on Bowens. Fans boo, Bowens flops out of the ring and Lethal kicks Caster out. Jarrett RAMS Caster into the railing! Then he grabs a chair and JAMS Caster with it! Lethal keeps after Bowens and they go up the ramp. Bowens throws forearms, Lethal throws them back. Then he grabs the legs and steps through for a FIGURE FOUR! Fans tell off Jarrett, and Caster fires off haymakers on him! Bowens endures, and he turns the hold over on Lethal! They roll down the ramp, all the way to ringside! Bowens is free but he still clutches his leg. Jarrett POSTS Caster, and then hurries to put Bowens in the ring.
Jarrett throws hands, Bowens gives them back! Bowens ROCKS, CHOPS, CHOPS and whips Jarrett to a corner. Jarrett reverses but runs into a BOOT! Bowens goes up, leaps, BLOCKBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Bowens whips Jarrett, fans sing “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” but Jarrett kicks Bowens away! Jarrett tags Lethal, he runs in but into a mule kick! Bowens hears the fans singing, and he throws down hands on Lethal over and over! Bowens then CLUBS Lethal down, and he shouts, “EVERYONE loves the Acclaimed!” Tag to Caster, The Acclaimed mug Lethal then double suplex! Cover, TWO! Caster whips Lethal to ropes, but Lethal reverses.
Caster ducks ‘n’ dodges, then slides out to SLAP Satnam! Fans fire up while Sonjay keeps Satnam back, and Caster slides in to DROPKICK Lethal! Caster shimmies and shakes and fans fire up. Caster eggs Satnam on, then he drags Lethal over. Tag to Bowens, they drag Lethal up and double whip him to a corner. Bowens runs in to forearm! Caster runs in to back elbow! Jarrett takes a swing but Bowens dodges to CLOBBER him! Bowens ROCKS Lethal, then feeds Lethal to Caster’s scoop SLAM! Bowens goes up and Caster holds open the legs, but Jarrett shoves Bowens down! Caster DECKS Jarrett for it, but Lethal runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and then DIVES to hit Bowens again!
Caster hurries but Jarrett CLUBS him down! Then Triple J strut. Portland boos but Jarrett tells them to SUCK IT as Battle of the Belts goes picture in picture.
Jarrett mocks the fans as if he can’t hear them, and Lethal goes out to fetch Bowens into the ring. Jarrett stomps Bowens, puts him on ropes and runs to STRADDLE ATTACK! Tag to Lethal, and Jarrett whips Bowens to kick low. Lethal runs in for a SWINGING NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Lethal clamps onto a chinlock and he grinds Bowens down. Jarrett mocks the fans while Bowens endures. Bowens fights up as the fans rally, and Bowens throws body shots! Lethal CLUBS Bowens as Battle of the Belts returns to single picture. Bowens ends up in the Triple J corner, and Jarrett takes a cheap shot!
Lethal CHOPS Bowens, ROCKS Bowens, but Bowens throws a forearm back! Lethal and Bowens go back and forth but Bowens gest the edge! Bowens runs, but Lethal follows, only for Bowens to LARIAT Lethal down! Fans fire up and both men crawl for their corners. Hot tags to Jarrett and Caster! Platinum Max rallies on Triple J with elbows and clotheslines! BOOT for Lethal! CHOP for Jarrett! SUPERKICK on top! Fans fire up and Caster waits on Jarrett. Jarrett stands, into an OLYMPIC SLAM! Caster “pulls down the straps,” then he grabs the leg for an ANKLE LOCK!! Caster keeps Jarrett from the ropes, and he GRAPEVINES IT!! Oh it’s true! It’s DAMN true!
But Lethal is up top! HAIL TO THE KING ELBOW on the REF?!? Fans are thunderous, but now Billy gets in the ring! Billy LARIATS Lethal and himself out of the ring! Caster tags Bowens! Bowens shoves Jarrett to ROCK him on the rebound! And then runs to LEG LARIAT BULLDOG! Cover, but the ref isn’t there! The fans count it all the way to “OCHO!” But here comes another ref! Cover counts now, TWO!!! Fans boo but Sonjay is laughing at Bowens!
Bowens is beside himself, but Lethal sends Jarrett the guitar! Only for Billy to YANK Lethal down and send him into railing! Jarrett aims at Bowens, and he promises a smash hit! But Billy gets in the ring! Jarrett LOW BLOWS Billy, but Bowens gets his FIVE TOOL BOOMBOX!! But then Sonjay trips Bowens! Bowens falls on his own boombox!! But Billy grabs the guitar!! Fans are losing their minds as Jarrett begs Billy for mercy! But then Satnam steps into the ring! Satnam turns Billy around, but Satnam gets the SMASH HIT!! Daddy Ass tells the One in a Billion to SUCK IT! But then Jarrett gets Billy with THE STROKE!!
But Caster slides in, Bowens SUPERKICKS Jarrett and Caster fireman’s carries for the ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! But Satnam grabs The Acclaimed with choke grips! DOUBLE CHOKE SLAMS!!! Fans boo and the ref reprimands, but Satnam CHOKE SLAMS the ref!!! That’s two refs down in one match! Sonjay tells Satnam to go fetch the ref’s shirt! Satnam gives the shirt to Sonjya and now Sonjay is supposed to be an official! Lethal sets Bowens up, for the LETHAL INJECTION!!! Cover, Sonjay counts it, but AUBREY drags Sonya out!! Sonjay says he’s in charge here but Aubrey says like hell! Fans are thunderous as Aubrey and Sonjay both get in the ring!
Aubrey takes Sonjay’s pencil! AND BREAKS IT! And then DECKS Sonjay!! Lethal is pissed, but Bowens clinches him for an ARRIVAL! MIC DROP!! Cover, The Acclaimed win!!
Winners: The Acclaimed, by pinfall (still AEW World Tag Team Champions)
Triple J tried every trick in the book to be champions, but it all blew up in their faces! And to celebrate, Aubrey even SCISSOR FINGERS with The Acclaimed! With the #LethalOutlaws out of the way, will Caster & Bowens only make their forever reign even bigger?
AEW has the next chapter in the Book of Hobbs.
“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs is here in person to say, “For weeks, everyone’s been wondering about the Book of Hobbs. This book is sacred to me! Every single thing that has happened to me is in this book. Every single ounce of blood I’ve shed, every single ounce of pain is in this book. And everything that has happened to me is gonna happen to you!” Will AEW heed Hobbs’ warning and stay out of his way? Or will they even have a choice?
Eddie Kingston & Ortiz speak.
Ortiz says the House of Black has a little issue with speaking in riddles. “That first riddle, where Eddie assumed I had something to do with it. Now this week, this riddle, all I kept hearing was ‘Eddie, Eddie, you’re sick. Eddie this, Eddie that.’ Not once did they mention Ortiz. Not once did they mention me. So how ’bout I question you about what’s up with that?” Eddie is surprised. Is Ortiz questioning Eddie’s integrity? Okay. Then next Friday, LA, the House of Black gets their asses kicked. Question Kingston then. Will the Mad King and his best friend end up torn apart by what the House of Black implied?
AEW TBS Championship: Jade Cargill w/ Leila Grey VS Skye Blue!
The undefeated streak has continued to 47-0, and that 47th win was against Skye Blue & Kiera Hogan in a tag team match. Jade takes on Skye 1v1 now, but she’s without Red Velvet! Will this be the chance Skye needs to get some gold? Or will no one stop #ThatBitch?
The introductions are made, Jade gets in Skye’s face with the belt quite literally, and Skye fires off! The bell rings, and we see if Skye ends the reign!

Skye runs, goes corner to corner, but Jade puts her on the apron! Jade DECKS Skye, and then she storms out after her. Jade BOOTS Skye down at the ramp, and Leila taunts Skye. Jade pie faces Skye, eggs her on, then brings her up. CHOKE SLAM on the ramp! Jade taunts Skye and the ref checks her. Jade soaks up the cheers and jeers, then goes back to the ring. Jade wants this by count-out so she starts a count. Fans count with Jade, but the ref starts the official count. Jade is annoyed, but the count reaches 4 of 10. But here comes Red Velvet! She smirks at Jade but Jade tells her off. The count is now 6 of 10, and Jade dares Velvet to help Skye.
The count is “OCHO!” as Jade paces around. Skye drags herself in at 9! Jade is annoyed, she bumps Skye off buckles, then more buckles, then more buckles! Jade taunts Skye while Battle of the Belts goes picture in picture.
Jade drags Skye up, bumps her off buckles again and again, and Velvet frowns. Jade digs her boot into Skye, counts along with the ref, but the ref pulls her away before 4! Velvet is salty about Jade’s attitude and so is the ref. Jade drags Skye up to EuroUpper! Jade whips corner to corner, dribbles, then runs in for the CROSSOVER! Jade then CHOKES Skye on the ropes! The ref counts, Jade lets off at 4, but tension is mounting between her and Aubrey. Aubrey argues with Jade, but this allows Leila to CHOKE Skye! Leila gets away with it, and Jade drags Skye up, Skye throws body shots, but Jade DECKS her!

Jade kicks Skye out of the ring, and now Velvet walks down the ramp! Fans fire up as Jade watches Skye flounder.
Velvet coaches Skye and Skye gets in the ring. Leila gets in Velvet’s face about turning her back on The Baddies, but Velvet just SLAPS Leila down!! Fans fire up with Skye and she runs in at the corner! Jade pops Skye up tot he apron but Skye ROCKS Jade! And PENALTY KCIKS Leila! GAMANGIRI for Jade! Skye slingshots up, jumps, but Jade catches her! Jade turns Rana around, chicken wings, and JADED!!! Cover, Jade wins!!

Velvet applauds, and mockingly congratulates Jade for making it to 48-0. Jade flips Velvet off, they’re obviously not friends anymore. But as Jade approaches the landmark 50th, will someone finally stop the streak?
Backstage interview with The Firm.
Lexi Nair is with Stokely Hathaway, Lee Moriarty & “Big Bill” Morrissey as she brings up Dynamite’s match of Moriarty & Morrissey VS #JungleHook. Stokely quotes James Baldwin, “You have to decide who you are and force the world to deal with you, not with its idea of you.” Stokely knows Jungle Boy & Hook aren’t the brightest, they’re “a few fries short of a Happy Meal.” So he will explain this to them: everyone and their mothers know that The Firm are a force to be reckoned with. So it is rather appropriate that JB wants this match to be in LA. Cuz Los Angeles is where entertainers go to die!
So, on January 11th, Stokely, Big Bill and Lee will put JB & Hook in the dirt, “and then afterwards, we’ll see you at the crossroads. See you in LA, boys. SU WU!” The Firm looks to make this one personal, but will they regret ever wanting AEW to #SendHook and Jack Perry?
AEW hears from Tay Melo, Anna Jay, Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale.
The Runaway tells #TayJay, “You made me bleed, you broke my bones. That’s gonna be a cake walk in comparison to what we do to you.” The Brazilian Goddess says, “You wanna talk about a Street Fight? I was born in Brazil! I grew up in the favelas, fighting in the streets for my whole life! I live the Street Fight! I AM the Street Fight!” The Queenslayer reminds us of when she wrapped barbed wire around her arm, then wrapped that arm around The Bunny’s throat to choke her out! But Ruby tells Willow that she has a good idea where they can shove this hockey stick. TayJay says if RubyWillow wants a Street Fight, they’re gonna get a Street Fight!!
Next week, Rampage in Los Angeles, we get this gritty grudge match! Who will survive this Battle of LA?
AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Orange Cassidy w/ Danhausen VS Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford!
Freshly Squeezed doesn’t get upset by much, but the way Mr. Superbad has gone about getting this title match has really ticked him off! Will Cassidy make Sabian pay for turning Best Friends against each other? Or will Sabian make all of AEW #EmbraceTheChange?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Battle of the Belts has a Superbad ending!
The bell rings and Sabian mockingly offers a hug. Fans rally for “FRESHLY SQUEEZED!” Sabian then mocks Cassidy by putting up the hands. Cassidy rushes in, Sabian avoids the Orange Punch to kick low! Sabian headlocks, Cassidy powers out but Sabian runs him over! Cassidy kips right up, but Sabian throws Cassidy right down! Cassidy stands up, Sabian headlocks but Cassidy powers out to get his own headlock. Sabian powers out but Cassidy runs him over! Cassidy flexes, then goes for the legs. Sabian kicks Cassidy away, things speed up, Sabian hurdles but Cassidy leaps over! They keep moving, Cassidy wheelbarrows, arm-drags and he has the leg, but fires off fists!!
Fans fire up but Sabian scrambles away! Fans boo while Sabian takes a seat in the corner. Sabian says he is in Cassidy’s head, and Ford takes the sunglasses and puts them on Sabian! Sabian sings, “In your head~! In your head~!” But Cassidy goes out after Sabian, so Sabian scrambles back into the ring, then back out of the ring. Sabian wants things to calm down, and The Bunny scampers out here. Bunny and Ford stand in Cassidy’s way as he storms out after Sabian. And then Sabian kicks Cassidy low! Sabian bumps Cassidy off buckles, then he taunts Danhausen! Sabian puts Cassidy in, CLUBS him to a corner, then stomps him down.
The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Bunny mocks Cassidy. Sabian whips Cassidy corner to corner, but Cassidy goes up and out. Sabian runs in but Cassidy blocks his punch to bump him off buckles! Cassidy goes to bring Sabian to the other corner but Sabian stops himself to GAMANGIRI Cassidy down! Sabian then goes to the apron, to ARABIAN PRESS! Direct hit and down goes Cassidy! Fans boo but Sabian grins. And then the Superbad Girls HUG Sabian! NOT what the people what! Maybe. But Danhausen steps up! Danhausen… CURSES Sabian! But Sabian BITES Danhausen’s finger! But Cassidy DIVES onto Sabian!
Cassidy puts Sabian in the ring, goes up the corner, and leaps for the CROSSBODY! Cassidy keeps moving, he ducks ‘n’ dodges, tilt-o-whirls, but Sabian blocks the DDT! Sabian suplexes, but into STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! Fans fire up but Sabian bails out again. Cassidy DIVES, but Sabian stops the Tope DDT! MAGIC SCREW! Sabian flexes while Cassidy writhes and fans boo. Sabian throws Cassidy down, covers, TWO! Sabian stomps Cassidy down! Sabian drags Cassidy up, to FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO! Not quite perfect but Sabian keeps his cool. Sabian drags Cassidy up, whips him to ropes, and CLOBBERS him! Cover, TWO! Sabian clamps onto Cassidy with a KOJI KLUTCH!
Cassidy endures, flails, and powers his way out, only for Sabian to ghost pin! TWO, and Sabian CLUBS Cassidy down! Sabian stands on Cassidy’s head at the ropes, the ref counts and Sabian lets off at 4. Sabian argues with the ref, drags Cassidy up, and whips him corner to corner hard! Sabian stands Cassidy back up to whip corner to corner hard the other way! Sabian talks some trash, stands Cassidy up again, and whips him corner to corner again, even harder! Cassidy bounces off buckles, Sabian soaks up the heat, and Sabian runs in to CANNONBALL! Battle of the Belts returns to single picture as Sabian soaks up more heat.
Sabian goes back to the corner, he runs in again, but Cassidy dodges! The cannonball hits nothing but buckles! Fans fire up and Cassidy goes to the apron! They’re on opposite ends of the corner, and Cassidy drags Sabian up! Sabian resists and throws body shots. Sabian then brings Cassidy around, has him in the corner and then climbs up, but Cassidy resists the bomb! Sabian fights as Cassidy wants the Alabama Lift! Sabian HEADBUTTS, stands Cassidy up, but Cassidy SUPERPLEXES instead!! Fans are thunderous as Cassidy flounders back to the corner! Off comes the elbow pad! But Ford distracts the ref, and Bunny grabs Cassidy’s foot!
Fans boo, and then the ref sees Bunny! Bunny lets go, but the ref EJECTS her!! Fans cheer and Danhausen adds on! Bunny storms off, but Sabian rushes in! Cassidy gets around to waistlock, Sabian switches, but Cassidy switches again! Cassidy shoves Sabian to the corner, Sabian comes back, HEADS COLLIDE!! Danhausen finishes shooing The Bunny, but now The Butcher & The Blade show up! The Superbad Squad smirks as they step up to Danhausen, but Danhausen fights them both! Only to get mugged, and a BOOT! Butcher & Blade storm down to ringside and they bring out chair after chair! But, they stake a seat at ringside.
Cassidy turns around, Sabian ROCKS him! Cassidy ROCKS Sabian back! Sabian ROCKS Cassidy, Cassidy ROCKS Sabian, repeat! Fans rally behind Cassidy as the forearms go faster and faster! Sabian drags Cassidy up, throws him out to Butcher & Blade, and now they get up! The chairs are made into a wedge, but HERE COME BEST FRIENDS!! Trent & Chuck have seen enough! They go after Butcher & Blade grab the chairs to JAM and SMACK the mercs! Cassidy HOTSHOTS Sabian!
Cassidy goes up top, DEEP- NO, Sabian stops the DDT to MAGIC SCREW!! Cover, TWO!!! Cassidy is still in this as Best Friends beat up Butcher & Blade all the way to backstage! Sabian takes Cassidy’s elbow pad, puts it on, and takes it off. ORANGE PUNCH from Sabian!! But Cassidy just gets pissed!!! Cassidy runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and tilt-o-whirl DDTS!! Sabian sits up in a daze, PENALTY KICK! And BEACH BREAK!!! Cover, TWO!?!? Ford is freaking out but Cassidy stomps away on Sabian in the corner! Fans chant for “FRESHLY SQUEEZED!” but the ref reprimands. Cassidy lets off, just to stomp a mudhole in again!

Winner: Orange Cassidy, by pinfall (still AEW All-Atlantic Champion)
Ford is losing her mind as none of their Superbad plans worked out! Cassidy keeps his reign alive, but will he need to fight even harder to keep it going in the new year?
My Thoughts:
A great Battle of the Belts event for AEW, especially after an already great Rampage just before. Good promo from Hobbs to cap off the Book of Hobbs series of vignettes. I fully expect him to start wrecking opponents in the ring and earn himself either a TNT or All-Atlantic Championship match. Good promo from Ortiz and Kingston, though I’m surprised Ortiz was suspicious of Eddie so suddenly. Why not ask him about this apparent history Eddie has with Malakai first? But anyway, we’re finally getting a tag match out of that story, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Good promo from Stokely to hype up The Firm VS #JungleHook, and a really good promo from TayJay, Ruby & Willow to hype up what will be an awesome Street Fight Tag next week.
Great No Holds Barred Tag for the tag titles, but one thing that annoys me is that apparently a No Holds Barred Tag match doesn’t just default to Tornado rules. Why worry about tagging in and out and who is legal when there are very little rules anyway? But at least the chaos and use of the No Disqualification rule picked up in the second half with those ref bumps. The Acclaimed winning makes sense, of course, though I can’t be sure who is next for them. Jade of course retains the TBS title, but that was a great showing from Skye. Velvet is firmly separated from Jade now, and as I said for Dynamite, Velvet really should be Jade’s 50th opponent to really test the streak.
And we got an awesome main event from Cassidy and Sabian. A lot of great character work from these two, and even the overbooking of having Ford, Bunny, Butcher, Blade, Danhausen & Best Friends fit. Best Friends stopping Butcher & Blade could’ve been how the Best Friends faction patches things up, and it also just gives us a nice tag feud we can go into to build contenders to the tag titles. Cassidy retaining makes sense, it just didn’t feel like Sabian’s time. I can’t be sure who dethrones Cassidy, but we’ve got three months until Revolution so we’ll see who they start building up.
My Score: 8.8/10

Adam Cole heads to the ring!
The fans cheer as the Panama City Playboy returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom, and yes, they join in for the “BOOM~!” and the “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY~!” Cole grabs a mic, but he keeps his eyes on the ramp. That’s because we all know who’s next. MJF makes his entrance, but with a handful of security guards in front of him first. And not even AEW security, that’s his own personal security. MJF grabs a mic and has them cut his music. The fans boo but MJF tells them, “If I wanted your help, I’d ask for it. Sit down and shut up.” The fans tell MJF to STFU, but MJF shrugs that off.
MJF tells Cole that MJF is frustrated. It’s because for the past few months, MJF has had to listen to Cole say MJF is Cole’s biggest enemy! If memory serves, and MJF’s memory always does because unlike the fans here, he isn’t a complete moron… Didn’t Cole turn on MJF? But then does Cole realize he has bigger enemies out there? Like spray tan, cracks in the floor, gusts of win, and maybe… a cavity. Because last MJF heard, Cole’s dentist isn’t seeing him anymore. Cole was already staring daggers into MJF, but now he’s pissed. MJF has Cole calm down, and he tells the fans to shut up so he can shoot straight.
When MJF was the longest-reigning and greatest AEW World Champion of all time, Cole was nothing more than MJF’s cute little sidekick. That ate Cole up inside. Cole wanted to be MJF. Cole wanted #TripleB. But the sad truth is, Cole had many opportunities to win the title before MJF got anywhere near it. It’s almost like when it comes to Cole being elite enough to become world champion, just like his “s*itty little ankle,” Cole blows it. MJF laughs at his own joke, and then tells the fans he is talking, it is not that complicated. But this is why MJF doesn’t buy the hogwash that Cole turned on MJF because MJF would turn on Cole first.
Cole turned because he, like all these shmucks, is jealous of MJF. And who can blame Cole? MJF is rich, handsome, funny, entertaining, and then look at Cole. For crying out loud, Cole used to be ADAM COLE BAYBAY. Now, he’s just a crack baby! Cole asks if MJF is done. Was that the last line? Because it felt like MJF practiced that for two weeks in front of a mirror. But MJF killed it, really. Cole could come back with childish comments to hurt MJF’s feelings, but he won’t. Cole could mention MJF has had two surgeries on that fake head of hair of his while only in his 20s, which is hilarious, but he won’t.
Cole could talk about how MJF pulled some strings to get his girlfriend hired, like the real politician he is, but Cole won’t go there. Cole could talk about how every single time MJF enters a room, everyone waits for him to leave because he is loud, obnoxious and annoying as hell. But Cole won’t go there. Because Cole is not like MJF. They are nothing alike. That is why the friendship was ruined. Because, MJF, the truth is you say Cole is a failure, but in virtually every wrestling company Cole has worked for, he is the longest-reigning champion in so many!
In this very building, Cole bled BUCKETS against Kyle O’Reilly, wanting to prove he was one of the best in the world, and that is exactly what he did! Does Cole have regrets? Sure. Are there things Cole wishes he could take back? Absolutely. But Cole does NOT regret turning on MJF. The only reason it drives MJF insane is because Cole beat MJF to it. That’s MJF 101: Get close to someone, then turn on them. It’s what MJF does. Cole just did it better than MJF, and MJF knows it.
But Cole has been thinking, trying to understand what’s going on in MJF’s head, and he finally figured it out. MJF is terrified of having anyone close to him, because he feels it is a weakness. That hit a chord? Because not only does MJF act like a child, he thinks like a child! MJF knows in his heart that he was going to be the one to turn on Cole first! DAMN RIGHT HE WAS!!! MJF realizes he let the cat out of the bag. MJF says congrats, Cole, he solved the mystery! A regular Scooby-Doo! Great job, Adam.
But you want the truth? Here it is. The fact of the matter is, last year at Worlds End, MJF had every intention on stabbing Cole in the back that night. Cole just got lucky. When #BetterThanYouBaybay started, MJF didn’t give a damn about Cole. Cole was nothing more than a pawn. But MJF will admit, he did eventually start to care. For the first time in MJF’s life, he cared about someone else. Fans mockingly go, “Aww…” But MJF says that is just when Cole became a liability. And since Cole’s “a fragile little freak,” him jumping off that ramp and exploding his ankle made him a distraction!
Distractions, liabilities, emotions, there are no room for those when all you should be concerned with is maintaining the world championship! But Cole doesn’t get it, does he? Last year was a fluke. Cole ain’t the Devil, he just beat the Devil to it. But this year, Worlds End, December 28th, the same show where Cole tried to end MJF’s world, MJF ENDS Cole!! MJF throws down the mic and the fans are torn. Cole smirks and says MJF ends things then? Well, how about Cole ends this? COLE DECKS MJF! The guards rush in, but Cole fights them off! MJF sends more but Cole SUPERKICSK! And SUPERKICKS! And SUPERKICKS!
But then MJF LOW BLOWS Cole! MJF tells the fans to shut up! MJF takes out the Dynamite Diamond Ring! But then The Kingdom rushes out here! MJF runs away from Matt Taven & Mike Bennett, but he vows this ends at Worlds End. We have one week left, is that the last week Cole has in AEW? Or will MJF finally lose the one thing he has left in that diamond ring?
Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.
Lexy Nair is with the #BornAgainKristen and brings up her trying to make amends with Willow Nightingale last night, as well as making the save when Harley Cameron & Penelope Ford were beating Willow up. Kris says what she and Willow have to discuss is between them. But as far as her and Penelope go, they’ve got a lot of history, and if Ford wants a fight, Kris will give her a fight. Then speaking of history, Kris still has her eyes set on the TBS Championship, can she tells us more on that?
Kris says she looked back on 2024 and she had a downward spiral that started with losing that title. Maybe if she wins it back, Kris will right her wrongs. On that note, Mercedes Mone, you don’t have an opponent for Worlds End so here Kris is. Let her know when you’re ready for round two. Kris heads out, will she prove to everyone that she is still the Galaxy’s Greatest?
Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.
AEW returns and Lexy is now with Freshly Squeezed. In exactly one week, he will compete against three other men for the AEW World Championship. There are a lot of combustible elements at play, and Cassidy says yeah, we saw that on Dynamite. Jay White, Hangman Page and Cassidy can’t exactly have a conversation. So really, Cassidy wants them to listen. “Between now and Worlds End, Jon Moxley can run and hide. He can hide behind his goons, he can run away in a pickup truck. But when that bell rings in seven days, he has nowhere to go. He will be in the ring with us. Us three. And you both know that we need to remove Jon Moxley from the equation.
“We can. We’ve done it. And after that, us three, we can fight for the AEW World Championship and one of us will become the AEW World Champion. Just something to think about. See you guys on Dynamite.” Cassidy is ready to remove the Maniac from the throne, but will the Switchblade and Cowboy listen to reason?

Kris, after the year I’ve been having, I was planning on taking Worlds End off. I was planning on going to the Ritz in Boston.” The fans boo Boston, but Mone says since it’s the holidays, Mone feels like being nice. She already beat Kris once anyway, so she’ll just beat her twice! At Worlds End, you see that money changes everything, because Mone is the greatest TBS Champion of all time!
The challenge has been accepted, and Mone is looking to be busy before the New Year. Will Kris make her regret it?
Big Boom AJ & Big Justice return to the ring.
They’re getting Christmas Collision ready to bring the BOOM, but out comes Chris Jericho, who is still ROH World Champion after overcoming Matt Cardona last night at Final Battle. And he has Bryan Keith & “Big Bill” Morrissey with him as he asks if AJ has a permit for being here tonight. Did they talk with Mayor DeBlasio? Because they certainly didn’t run this past Jericho. Do they know who he is? Big Justice says yeah, he knows! “You’re a JACKASS!” Jericho is taken aback, but the fans agree with Justice. The Bad Apple says this is why dumbass kids should be sitting and not heard. Jericho says yeah!
And if being a jackass means he’s the King of New York, then Jericho’s the biggest jackass! And besides, Jericho talks for everyone here saying we do not want AJ & Justice here! The fans boo, they disagree with Jericho. But Jericho says they don’t even have Costcos in New York! New Yorkers shop at bodegas. Fans are torn, because they kind of agree. Jericho says his favorite is the Walgreens a few blocks over in Flushing. And speaking of Flushing, that’s where AJ & Justice belong: in the toilet! This is the Hammerstein Ballroom, the House that Jericho built! The fans boo that, it’s the House that Hardcore built.
But Jericho says there’s no time for goofy gimmicks like BOOM~, or bandit masks, or scissoring! Scissor me, Bad Apple~! But then wait! The Acclaimed is here! Well, Anthony Bowens is, at least. Bowens pushes past The Learning Tree and he joins AJ & Justice in the ring. Bowens has the music cut, and he tells Jericho that he doesn’t get why Scissor King is catching strays, but you caught his attention. Jericho is trying to intimidate a man in a walking boot and an 11 year old child while spouting nonsense about being the King of New York. Why doesn’t Jericho do what he has asked so many others in the past: SHUT THE HELL UP!
The fans cheer but Big Bill says, “As the Learning Tree always says, when a man tries to silence another man, he’s probably afraid of the truth.” The fans do cheer Big Bill because he is from New York. Bowens says he has no idea what that means, Bill. But he does know we’re live on TNT, Christmas Collision, Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City! So Chris, why not walk your ass to this ring and get it whipped by the Scissor King?! Jericho says if Bowens wants him to do that, then not tonight. Jericho waves bye, but AJ says hold on, listen up. We know Jericho is running scared, but we know at some point, Bowens will get to bring the-
Bowens stops the Boom? Because he wants to scissor! AJ says okay, and they SCISSOR BOOM~! But is that true? Will Anthony Bowens be the one to tear down the Learning Tree and be a champion?
Backstage interview with The Vendetta.
Lexy is now with Deonna Purrazzo & Taya Valkyrie, and they’ve got a hot streak going. Deonna’s message last week was ominous, but who was it for? Taya says there are so many options. Everyone deserves a slice of The Vendetta. There’s Mercedes, Mariah, Toni Storm, even Lexy could get some, so watch your back. Speaking of Toni, she stumbles in and apologizes for interrupting. She just wants to say hi to everyone, hello. Oh, Deonna, a pleasure. Deonna says she knows who Toni is. R-Really? So cool! Taya says she’ll make a guess: Toni has a tattoo on her leg, a little duck with a knife through it.
Wow, how’d Taya know? Deonna says no no no, she is not doing this again. She does not get what sick crap Toni’s up to, but she is already done with it. So for Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street, Toni VS Taya! Taya says she’ll make Toni forget everything! Toni nervously thanks The Vendetta, and says this is a big opportunity to face someone like Taya. Toni leaves, Deonna and Taya sigh, and Lexy has no idea what to say. Is Toni’s mind unraveling before our eyes? Or is there still a bit of Timeless inside Toni Time?

The Swiss Superman screws over Darby, but then he gets that chair back. But wait, Ospreay slides into the ring! And HE has the brass knuckles that Claudio tossed aside! Ospreay dares Claudio to do something, but Claudio simply leaves. Does this mean Ospreay’s ready to ride against the Death Riders with Darby? Or will we see a Miracle on 34th Street send Ospreay and Darby to Worlds End?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here as the last one before Worlds End, and therefore a bit of a go-home in itself. While the continued feud of MJF and Cole has still been a bit clunky since they did the double turn, their faceoff did a good job addressing some of that. They got good digs at each other as always, and MJF snapping and revealing “the truth” was their big move to recover this story. We of course got a brawl, and good save by The Kingdom. It feels like MJF still finds a way to hold onto the diamond ring, but c’mon, how fitting is it for Cole to get a diamond.
Good bit with Toni Storm and The Vendetta, and Deonna’s reaction to Toni was great. Deonna is justified in thinking this is still an act from Toni, not a legitimate psychological problem, and Toni VS Taya will be good stuff. Good promo from Kris Statlander, good match from her and Penelope Ford, and of course a good win for Kris. Good promo from Mone to make Worlds End official, but as I’ve been saying, Mone is more likely to lose the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship as part of the big NJPW Tokyo Dome weekend. The irony is, Mina Shirakawa is her challenger and Mina shows up plenty in AEW, so I don’t know how that math is supposed to work.
Good promo from Mariah May as it also turned into a brawl with Thunder Rosa. As it stands, Rosa standing tall holding up the belt means she is NOT winning at Worlds End, but they could still give us a little more from Rosa and Mariah on Dynamite’s Christmas episode to turn the tables. Good promo from Julia Hart to respond to Jamie Hayter, they’ll have a good match. Good promo from Orange Cassidy to try and reason with Jay White and Hangman Page, but that’s all the more reason Moxley likely uses the challengers all against each other like he did on Wednesday. Though, it would be fun if they at least started the match all annihilating Moxley with their finishers, making us think it’ll work out in favor of “Team AEW.”
Good stuff with Big Boom AJ & Big Justice here tonight, both hyping up the show but also interacting with Jericho’s group and even Anthony Bowens. They’re adding some more foreshadowing to The Acclaimed breaking up, and I guess we’re supposed to see this as a positive move, Bowens feuding with Jericho. Unless Bowens is going to be the guy that dethrones Jericho for whatever ROH cable TV debut/return is planned, the Jericho Vortex strikes again. Bowens should be going for an AEW midcard title, but right now, those are all tied up what with the C2 going on and the International Championship being tied up in Worlds End and NJPW plans.
Speaking of the C2, great stuff with all the matches tonight. Shelton VS Garcia was great stuff, and while Garcia gets the win, they’re still giving us some set-up for a TNT Championship match of Garcia VS Shelton. Mark Briscoe of course made the save, but great surprise for Swerve to show up. Lashley VS Swerve for Worlds End just needs to be said, it already feels a given. All that brawling was also a good segue into Mark VS Mortos, and another great showing for Mortos, even in losing. But as Mark has already had all his matches and is at 9 points, Kyle doesn’t even need to win against Garcia, he just needs to draw so that Mark will be out, and Garcia with him.
While Ospreay VS Darby on Wednesday raised the bar, Ospreay VS Ricochet still had great stuff of its own. Plus, Ricochet is bringing out more of his Heel side what with using the ref, and Ricochet’s win puts the pressure on Ospreay for Christmas Dynamite. Now, no offense to Brody King, but I’m thinking Ospreay wins that to take one of the semifinal spots. Darby VS Claudio tonight was also great, but Darby doing his best Sting off the truss was not the best when he gets that whiplash on the floor. I really thought that match was going to be called for concussion protocol, but Darby’s weirdly indestructible.
Claudio still cheats this win so there’s more heat on the Death Riders and Darby is also behind the 8 ball. Ospreay making the save was good, we can definitely have another “Team AEW” VS Death Riders with Ospreay joining Darby and a couple others, but the way they did the order of matches, Claudio’s got a seemingly easy ride against Komander for Christmas. Though, how awesome would it be if Komander pulled off the spoiler? Or if they were really going to add some drama, they should create a situation where the Death Riders end up ringside, violating the Continental Rules of no cornermen and that disqualifies Claudio. Claudio misses out on the semifinals because of a technicality, sending Ospreay and maybe Ricochet to the semifinals.
My Score: 8.8/10
