Backstage interview with MJF.
Renee Paquette is with the AEW World Champion but he excuses himself for a second to make a quick phone call. He puts it on speaker, waits as it rings, and Adam Cole picks up! MJF is so glad Cole got out of that psycho’s house and got that surgery. How’s he feeling? But as Cole tries to answer, Roderick Strong wheels in while shouting, “ADAM~! ADAAAM~!” Cole asks if that’s Roddy, and MJF says it is. Roddy says hi to Adam himself, but Adam says he’ll call MJF later. Understandable. Roddy says, “Love you, too!” as MJF hangs. MJF then asks Roddy what the hell he and The Kingdom even want.
Roddy says he’s just been thinking. It has to be MJF behind the Devil mask. But let’s just pretend that he’s not. And for the sake of their mutual friend, Adam Cole, more Roddy’s than MJF’s, Roddy will “take pity” on MJF and help him against Bullet Club Gold. Wow, really? He means that? Thanks so much! MJF then pushes Roddy and he can’t stop his wheelchair! The Kingdom hurries after Roddy and MJF shouts at the camera to call out Jay White! Tonight, MJF sends White a message in blood! White wants to take MJF’s cherished Triple B? That’s where he messed up! And Juice wanted to send a message to MJF, put his name on something that made MJF feel small. Nice.
But tonight, MJF has a bullet with Juice’s name on it! And live in Philadelphia, MJF will not miss!! Wait! The Devil of AEW takes over the screen?! Then is it really NOT MJF under there? What is going to happen on an already stacked Wednesday Night Dynamite?
Dynamite Diamond Ring: MJF VS Juice Robinson w/ The Gunns!
The introductions are made, the bell rings and MJF CLOBBERS Juice! MJF rains down fists, the ref backs him off, but then MJF stomps away in the corner! The fans are all fired up for MJF but the Gunns are upset. MJF stomps a mudhole into Juice, digs his boots in, but lets off at 4. Juice bails out but MJF goes out. Fans chant “He’s Our Scumbag!” as MJF whips Juice hard into railing! Then hard into more railing! MJF drags Juice up to whip into the timekeeper’s area! The table goes with him! Philly fires up more and MJF gets himself a drink of water. MJF then SPITS that in Juice’s face!
MJF brings Juice away from the timekeeper’s area to SMACK him off a chair. MJF makes Juice take a seat in the corner, he refreshes the ring count, and he pounds the apron. Fans clap along, MJF runs in, and he BOOTS Juice over the railing! Fans fire up even more and MJF feeds off that energy. The Gunns are frustrated on Juice’s behalf as MJF drags Juice back to ringside. MJF then has the legs to CATAPULT Juice into the post! MJF gets in the ring, hears the fans cheer, and then he goes back out after Juice. MJF ROCKS Juice with a haymaker, right where Juice is bleeding from that forehead.
MJF SMACKS Juice off steel steps, then stalks Juice to a corner. MJF drags Juice up, says if he wants a gold tooth, here’s one! MJF stands on Juice against the steps! The Gunns storm over, the ref backs them off but Juice YANKS MJF into the steps! The ref reprimands the Gunns, tells Juice to get in the ring, and Juice has MJF on the apron. Juice drags MJF up, to APRON DDT! MJF flounders while the Gunns taunt him, and Juice staggers up. The crimson mask is growing, but Juice gets in to cover, TWO! Juice glares through his blood and hair, and Colten distracts the ref! Austin slides Juice MJF’s own scarf to CHOKE MJF with!
Fans boo as Juice gets away with that, hides the evidence, and covers. TWO, and fans fire up again! Juice snarls, he throws down fists on MJF, then tells him to go to hell! Juice soaks up the heat from Philly and then Jay White makes his way out to taunt MJF with Triple B. The Switchblade is all smiles as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
White seems to be joining commentary, and Juice TOSSES MJF out of the ring. The ref watches the Gunns closely but Juice gets in his face about the blood. That allows Austin to CHOKE MJF! MJF gets up, gets in the ring, but Juice is on him in the corner. Juice whips MJF hard into a corner and MJF bounces off buckles. Juice paces around, Austin distracts the ref and Colten gives Juice the scarf! Juice CHOKES MJF again! Juice high stacks, TWO!! MJF is still in this and Juice argues with the ref, but the count was fair. Juice seethes, but he stalks MJF and clamps on a chinlock. MJF endures as Juice grinds him down.
MJF fights up as fans rally, and he throws body shots! Juice throws MJF down by his hair! And then SENTONS! Cover, TWO! Juice is frustrated but the fans rally up as MJF stirs. Juice blows snot on MJF, but MJF throws body shots! Juice HEADBUTTS MJF down! Juice taunts the fans and Dynamite returns to single picture. Juice paces around MJF, stalks him, but then Colten distracts the ref. The scarf returns, but MJF snatches that to CHOKE Juice! The Gunns complain, the ref is busy with them, and White shouts from commentary! Juice claws MJF’s face! Juice throws the scarf and shouts at MJF. MJF ducks the leg lariat!
MJF CLOBBERS Juice, CLOBBERS him again, then scoop SLAMS! Fans fire up as MJF dribbles Juice off the buckle! The buckle’s logo is going from white to red, and then MJF climbs up. MJF rains down fists all the way to nine, then winds up, to BITE Juice!! Fans fire up, MJF lets off as the ref counts, and then MJF whips to WRING Juice into the buckles! MJF storms around, tasting Juice’s blood in his mouth. The fans tell MJF he’s sick, but then MJF takes the kangaroo stance! Fans fire up as MJF aims, to KANGAROO KICK! Juice falls out of the ring and MJF shakes the ropes! The fans are thunderous as MJF then builds speed!
But the Gunns trip MJF! The ref was busy watching Juice! Juice gets in to LEG LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Juice is frustrated, but the fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS!” MJF sits up but Juice scuffs him. MJF stands, Juice throws a forearm! MJF SLAPS Juice and eggs him on. Juice throws another forearm, but MJF says to actually hit him! So Juice claws MJF’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Juice runs, but MJF ducks and handsprings under! Juice blocks a kick to flip MJF, but MJF lands on his feet! MJF pokes Juice in the eyes! The ref reprimands, MJF smirks and runs, but Juice SPITS at MJF! Then LEFT HAND O’ GOD!
Juice gets MJF up, MJF grabs for ropes, but Juice still POWERBOMBS!! Cover, TWO!! Juice is frustrated but so is White. White coaches Juice from commentary, and MJF is up in a corner. Juice runs in but MJF ELBOWS him away! MJF goes up and leaps, to DOUBLE STOMP the arm! Juice runs in but MJF puts him in the ropes! KNEE, and then HEAT- NO, Juice throws MJF away! MJF hobbles, but he ducks Juice to DIVE onto the Gunns! The fans fire up but White says the Gunns are innocent! Juice runs in, but MJF catches him into the apron skirt! MJF claws Juice’s eyes! Fans chant again, “He’s Our Scumbag!” while Juice flounders away.
Juice distracts the ref, pushes him aside, and then KICKS the rope to get MJF low! JUICE IS LOOSE!! White is fired up as Juice covers, TWO!! MJF survives and Bullet Club Gold is furious! The Gunns get all up on the apron, even as the ref kicks at them, all so Juice can put on TJ Maxx! But uh, MJF puts on THE Dynamite Diamond Ring! MJF told Juice before it was gonna be loaded punch for loaded punch, and he dodges the Left Hand o’ God, to hit the RIGHT HAND O’ THE DEVIL!! Then he DECKS Austin, DECKS Colten, and sets Juice up again! HEATSEEKER!!! Cover, MJF wins!!
Winner: MJF, by pinfall (still Dynamite Diamond Ring Bearer)
But the Gunns attack! They won’t let MJF celebrate five years with the ring, but wait! Roddy & The Kingdom roll up! Taven & Bennett brawl with the Gunns! Fans actually cheer The Kingdom, but then the Gunns clothesline Taven & Bennett out! White runs up, he has the Gunns set MJF up, and Juice prepares that fist. But wait! Here comes The Acclaimed! Caster, Bowens & Daddy Ass chase BCG off! The fans are all fired up but White shouts to cut the music! And he tells the fans to shut up! White tells MJF to listen and focus on the sound of his “sweet exotic accent.”
Forget everything about everyone else coming for this title belt! Forget about Kenny Omega, about Samoa Joe, about Wardlow or the Devil Mask! Focus on the only thing that matters, the man standing right here with the BANG BANG BELT! And MJF, you will NEVER get your grubby little hands on it ever again! At Full Gear, White will repeatedly pummel MJF into the ground, and he will breath with the Switchblade! Colten “congratulates” Devil Boy MJF on keeping the ring. But he doesn’t have Triple! But he does have what the Gunns want in the ROH World Tag Team Championships! How about Full Gear, MJF VS The Gunns?
And whether it is MJF or the Devil himself, it doesn’t matter! They’ve got two Gunns, one for each of ’em! And if you’re not down with that- OH SHUT UP, ASS BOYS!! Fans fire up for that! MJF tells them to listen up. They want their shot at the ROH World Tag titles at Full Gear? They’ve got ’em! And MJF will still see White that same night. But he is not waiting until then to get his hands on White’s “dollar store Jack Sparrow lookin’ ass.” MJF says next week on Dynamite, he takes White up on that offer. The four jabronies of Bullet Club Gold, and bring even Cardblade, he’s the only real man among them…
And they will take on MJF and three tag partners of his choosing. And when he wins, White gives back the Triple B! Because NOBODY is on the level of The Devil! White says okay then. But then Roddy shouts to Max. What?! He is literally right here, stop screaming! Roddy wants MJF to listen. Obviously it’s Roddy & The Kingdom, right? Right? Fans boo that, but MJF says these three, “Mid Mike, Mid Matt & Roddy The Simp Strong,” can do him a favor: Get those two big boys on Roddy’s lap, and all three can roll off a cliff, “you bland b*tch!!” Roddy is furious but then Caster says that must mean he’s choosing The Acclaimed, right?
Fans cheer that idea and MJF looks around. MJF doesn’t want Caster to touch him. Now, they’ve known each other a long time, and he means this from his heart. They’ve known each other since MJF was 18. He never liked Caster. And if Caster thinks MJF is tagging with him, he’s got another thing coming. MJF wouldn’t team with Caster if he was on fire and Caster was the only way to put it out. Understand that? Fans boo and Caster feels down. MJF says he doesn’t care what the fans think, but then Caster says, “So you’re saying there’s a chance?” MJF is beside himself and Bowens has to say, “Dammit, Max!”
And then DAMMIT, MJF, don’t you know? EVERYONE Loves The Acclaimed!! Caster says okay, one favor before they leave Philly tonight. Fans fire up as Caster puts out the scissor fingers! MJF glares at Caster but fans want to see it. MJF closes the scissors! Billy is upset but MJF leaves. MJF has seven days to find three people to team with him, but will he end up having no choice but to go with the AEW World Trios Champions?
Wait, here comes Kenny Omega! He steps to MJF on the stage and fans go nuts! Omega has a mic to tell MJF, “You seem to have a lot going on here, so I’m going to cut straight to brass tax. You have something that I want. But I’ve got something that you want. Now, walking out with a live microphone, I lost that the second I lost what’s not around your waist. So even though I have no right to ask, and uh, if you’re the type of scumbag that I think you are, you’ll laugh in my face, tell me to suck on some lemons, go fly a kite, dealer’s choice. But if you’re their scumbag, if you’re the champion that I think they want you to be…
“Heck, if you’re the champion that I think you deep down inside wanna be, you’re gonna hear me out. I want that belt, Max. And I reserve the right to defend my streak. So if you truly are better than me and you know it, well then Max, gee golly gosh, don’t be afraid to show it, pal.” Fans cheer and MJF says okay, how about this? The Cleaner VS The Devil, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, MOHEGAN SUN, FOR THE AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!! May the best man win. MJF and Omega shake on it, and then MJF tells Omega he will because he is Maxwell! Jacob! Friedman! And he’s better than you, and you know it!
Omega smirks and says on that note, let’s bid the fans adieu. Good bye, MWAH, and good night, BANG. And oh, one more thing. “Three days, b*tch.” The Best Bout Machine and the Salt of the Earth battle it out just days before the reign record is broken, and just weeks away from Full Gear! Who survives this epic Collision?
Wardlow speaks.
“Sitting at home for four months wasn’t healthy for me. I wasn’t recovering from injuries, I wasn’t on vacation. I was going to a very dark place. I got to sit at home and watch Max, somebody who has done so much evil, who has badmouthed this company, who has s*it all over our fans, I’ve had to watch him become the name and face of the company, everybody supporting him, everybody cheering him on. I had to watch the man that I beat main event the biggest show in the history of this business, as the world heavyweight champion. How that changes a man.
“Over the past year, I have felt the Devil’s claws dig deeper and deeper into my back. Max, there is nothing left for you to take from me. And now I am going to take everything from you.” The War Dog has put MJF on notice, will MJF make it through Omega and White only to face his past?
Hook & Rob Van Dam VS The Dark Order w/ Evil Uno!
The FTW Champion once again teams with the ECW legend, right here in the birthplace of that extreme legend, and they’re taking on a team that wants to prove they’re the heroes of this story. Will Alex Reynolds & John Silver #SendHook away? Or will they find both Hook & RVD are One of a Kind?
The teams sort out and fans chant for “E C DUB! E C DUB!” Hook starts against Reynolds, Reynolds gets in Hook’s face and talks trash, but Hook shoots around to waistlock and SLAM! Hook facelocks, Reynolds fights up but Hook headlocks then hammerlocks then headlocks for a BIG takeover! Hook has a top wristlock but Reynolds fights up. Hook tags RVD and fans fire up as they mug Reynolds. RVD wrenches, arm-drags, and fans rally up. Reynolds gets away from RVD to tag Silver. RVD sighs, but Reynolds CLOBBERS him! Reynolds & Silver stomp RVD, then Silver says he’s freakin’ jacked, baby!
Silver ROCKS RVD, CLUBS him on the chest, then he throws body shots! Silver whips but RVD reverses and runs in to monkey flip! Fans fire up as Silver flounders away! Fans join in for “ROB! VAN! DAM!” Reynolds runs in, RVD dodges and Hook catches him for a DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! The Dark Order get up, RVD & Hook clothesline them both up and out! Fans fire up, Uno gets on the apron but RVD DECKS him! RVD & Hook high-ten as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
RVD says hang loose, and he waits on the Dark Order to get up. Silver stands and steps into the ring. Silver and RVD circle, fans rally up, and the two approach. RVD kicks low, wrenches to a wristlock, then tags in Hook. Hook CLUBS Silver’s arm, wrenches an arm, but Silver TOSSES Hook out of the ring! Hook gets on the apron, ROCKS Silver, then DECKS Reynolds! But Uno anchors Hook! Silver BLASTS Hook to the floor! Silver goes out to KICK Hook against barriers! Then CHOP him! Silver puts Hook in the ring, brings him over and tags in Reynolds. Reynolds stomps Hook, brings him around, but Hook throws body shots!
Hook gets around, Reynolds fights the suplex and tags Silver. Hook O’Conner Rolls, but Silver drags him up to POWERBOMB onto Reynolds’ KNEES! Cover, TWO! RVD coaches Hook but Silver taunts him. Silver CLUBS Hook, Dynamite returns to single picture, and Silver throws clubbing crossface forearms! But Hook blocks to EXPLODER! Hook and Silver crawl, hot tag to RVD! RVD rallies on The Meat Man, SUPERKICK! Silver is dazed, but RVD KICKS and spins to JUMPING LEG DROP! Reynolds runs in to fire off on RVD. Reynolds whips him to a corner but RVD puts him on the apron to then JUMP SOBAT!
RVD dodges Silver to then KICK him in the face! Fans fire up as RVD runs, ROLLING THUNDER! Direct hit and cover, but Reynolds breaks it! Fans boo but Reynolds stomps RVD. The ref reprimands but Reynolds brings RVD up. RVD NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, but Silver breaks it! Silver whips RVD to a corner, runs in but into an ELBOW! RVD goes up to JUMPING KICK! Tag to Hook and he stalks Silver. Hook reels Silver in for crossface forearms! Hook is giving Silver a taste of his medicine, then clamps on the- NO, Reynolds BOOTS Hook first! The ref reprimands and backs Reynolds down.
RVD hurries to help Hook, but No gets in with a chair! RVD dodges to VAN DAMINATOR Uno! Then WHEEL KICK for Reynolds! RVD has Reynolds in a drop zone and he goes up! FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!! Fans fire up but Silver runs up! RVD dodges the punt, Hook has REDRUM!! Silver taps, RVD & Hook win!
Winners: Hook & Rob Van Dam, by submission
This duo is 2-0 and Hook might actually be smiling! Will they stick together and become championship worthy?
RJ City is backstage.
“Hello, I’m not Ben Mankiewicz. Tonight’s film is entitled ‘Hold That Butler’ and it-” Toni Storm cuts him off and says play the picture. We go picture in picture for “Hold That Butler!” and Toni is telling herself in the mirror, “Pull it together, pull it together, pull it together!” RJ City, presumably reprising his role as Mr. Studio Executive Man, tells her that it’s 15 minutes to curtain. What?! He gets a megaphone to say “15 MINUTES TO CURTAIN!” But what’s wrong? Storm says she’s sick of Philadelphia and this dreary set. She wants to go home. But she will, because on November 18th, she films her biggest picture yet, her “Hollywood Homecoming!”
RJ looks to the camera and winks. That’s obviously Full Gear in Los Angeles. Storm says she must get ready! Where’s her butler? Uh, he’s been behind her the whole time. And the butler says, ‘Good evening, Madame.” What’s his name? “Luther.” Good. Then she’ll call him… Luther! Very good, madame. Clementine? He throws her the fruit, she takes a big juicy bite of it, and says it is refreshing. But then she spits it out. Now come, Luther, they must get ready to go home. He nods, and Dynamite goes to break. Will the madness only grow now that Luther is Storm’s butler?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Dynamite returns and Schiavone says they are in the greatest pro-wrestling city in the world. And now, he introduces Darby Allin and… STIIIIIING! The Relentless Icons are here and the fans fire up. Schiavone tells Sting that the announcement from last week that shocked the world surely came from the heart. Sting says it did, and he is glad to be here right now. He wants to thank some people, two in particular, that he forgot last week. But because there’s so much history for Sting here in this town, he wants to thank Philadelphia. It has been a great run, and a lot of that was here in Philly.
Sting wants to thank his tag team partner, Darby Allin. Sting means this with everything in him, he could not have made it this far without Darby, the best partner he’s ever had. Sting has some woes out there, right? No, no, not “woo,” “Woe,” As in, “Oh, Darby’s the best partner he’s ever had?” Yeah, Darby is the man. And secondly, Sting wants to thank someone who made all this happen. Without him making the phone call about four years ago now, one Tony Khan. Sting thanks TK for giving him a chance to come back and wrestle a little longer. And to go “OW~!” a few more times. And Schiavone wants the mic back so here you go.
Sting hands the mic back to Schiavone, and Schiavone says that Tony Khan should thank Sting for what he’s meant to AEW. Sting arrived in early 2021, his first match here was Revolution 2021, and now he wants his last match to be Revolution 2024. AEW is proud to be part of Sting’s great career. The fans cheer that! Schiavone says it was 35 YEARS ago, here on TBS that Sting put pro-wrestling on the map for TBS. Schiavone is so thrilled to be part of that. It elevated Sting to the icon that he is now. And we’ve all heard it, Tony Khan has a special gift for Sting. Fans chant “Thank You, Sting!” and Schiavone says he is proud to bring out the gift right now.
Everyone looks to the ramp, and wait. That music. It can’t be! BUT IT IS! RICK FLAIR IS IN AEW!! The Nature Boy makes his way down the ramp and Sting can’t believe it! Sting and Ric hug it out! Ric also hugs Schiavone while Philly loses their minds. Schiavone says Flair VS Sting on TBS made TBS wrestling what it was and what it is today. Nature Boy, welcome to AEW! Ric says that in life, there are moments that are magical. They’re few and they’re far between. And that’s the magic of the chemistry of whatever you do in life that makes you the best.
“35 years ago, this gentleman and I set history on TBS! First Clash of Champions against WrestleMania. And brother, I told him this when I inducted him into the Hall of Fame, to go 55 minutes in a match, 35 years ago or tonight, is hard. He never took a deep breath, he lived up to all of the potential, and he is not only one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of our business, one of the biggest celebrities, but dammit, he’s probably the nicest guy I’ve ever known.” Fans cheer that! So when Flair got this invitation, from the bottom of his heart, Mr. Tony Khan wanted him to be part of this, Flair wants to be here all the way to March! He wants to ride the wagon with Sting!
Flair and Sting “WOO~!” back and forth, and then Flair gives Sting a chop for old times! But wait, here comes Christian Cage. The TNT Champion has Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne with him, and fans boo as he says, “So, Tony Khan is a billionaire, and this is the gift that he gives Sting for his retirement? This is the gift?” Basically, Sting got a suit, gold chains and a black liver! Congratulations. But Christian’s impressed to see Ric is still moving around. This isn’t Weekend at Bernie’s at all! Can’t even see the strings. The fans tell Christian off but he tells them all to relax. He knows Ric isn’t dead. But he also knows there can’t be a God, or else Flair would’ve been dead 20 years ago!
Fans boo more, and even cuss Christian off. But Christian says the real reason he is out here is because last week, Sting & Darby decided to stick their noses in Christian’s business yet again. Darby, how’s that arm feeling? Still got some sour grapes about losing at WrestleDream, huh? Well, Christian will give Darby one more chance. And it’s something the Phillies baseball team couldn’t get done, either! So go ahead, look at something you will never be: a CHAMPION! Now, obviously this situation isn’t gonna go away until Christian makes it go away, so here’s his proposition.
Christian knows Sting has this beautiful dream that he’ll make it to Revolution 2024 all because he started here in AEW at Revolution 2021. Sting has this beautiful picture painted for himself, but Christian sees it differently. He doesn’t wanna wait until Revolution for Sting to be gone, Christian wants him gone NOW. So what he’s saying is, there’s three of them, and well, there’s Sting, Darby and Flair. Flair can be a partner if they want, but he looks one Superkick away from his pacemaker giving up and the rest of him withering into dust. But at Full Gear, find a partner, and the retirement will come early, and not with a big celebration. It’ll be more like a funeral.
Now someone, hit the champ’s music. HIT THE MUSIC! Sting has everyone hold on. Sting sneezes, and says sorry, he’s allergic to jackasses. First off, Darby & Sting will find a partner, and they will accept that challenge. See you there! Full Gear just got bigger, but who will be the third man, brother?
Backstage interview with Chris Jericho.
Renee sits down with The Ocho and says the last time they saw each other two weeks ago, Jericho was down on the ground, medical team helping him, and he had to be taken to a hospital, all because of his match with “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs. Can he provide a medical update for us now? Jericho says yeah, it was a destruction, to be honest. As a pro-wrestler of 33 years, Jericho can’t remember ever being beat down like that. His ribs are still hurting after about seven or eight spinebusters and three “World’s Most Dangerous Slams.” The thing that’s hurting most is his ego.
Renee says Jericho is arguably one of the greatest of all time, we’ve seen so many different versions of Jericho over the years. But to see what happened to Jericho in the ring with Hobbs, is he hitting a certain point of self-reflection in his career to consider what he has left? Jericho says as an athlete, you always do that. Demo God, Le Champion, The Wizard, all these other iterations, one thing Jericho has always had is a sense of confidence in himself. And knowing that on any given night, he can beat anybody. But last week, he didn’t see that coming.
Hobbs came out him out the gate, and big as he is and as good as he is, Jericho thought he could remedy that but just couldn’t. He couldn’t get out of the hole that Hobbs continued to dig with Jericho’s own body over and over again. So there does come a time in a career where you self-reflect. Does Jericho still have what it takes to beat a Hobbs? Is it time to step back a bit? Or is it time to get even stronger, even more intense, even more confident because he IS Chris Effin’ Jericho? Is it time to get… revenge? Jericho says Callis has a family. Lots of guys, lots of friends.
Jericho still has lots of friends, too. And some of those friends are even bigger than Hobbs. Maybe it’s time to give those friends a call. Just who is it that The Lionheart can call upon to defend his pride?

The Hardy Party put up a hardy fight, but it wasn’t enough to the good, the bad and the- Wait, what’s playing on the tron? Prince Nana is breaking into Hangman’s house?! Nana then steps aside so Swerve can step in! “Oh, y’all tacky.” Hangman is furious and he rushes to the back but what can he do so far away from home?! Swerve says the Page family owes him for taking all the opportunities. Swerve is in the kitchen, Nana eats up the chocolate covered berries. Swerve sees Hangman’s son’s artwork hanging on the fridge. They really have no taste. And he RIPS it up!! Swerve sits on the couch, and finds a book. It’s a speak ‘n’ say.
Wait, what was that? Swerve takes the camera, goes through the halls, and Nana isn’t sure this is a good idea. Swerve says shut up, and he finds HANGMAN’S SON’S ROOM! Swerve said last week it wasn’t gonna be Hangman who pays for his actions. What he meant to say was it would be his loved ones that do. Hangman cost Swerve a title opportunity, he took something from Swerve, and now he owes Swerve a debt. So since Hangman ain’t here, will it be Junior who pays? No, Hangman will be the one that pays up. Just not today. In fact, Swerve will leave a reminder that Junior is forever indebted to him, and it is daddy’s fault.
Swerve says he’ll never forget this, and neither will Hangman. Nana says time to go, and Swerve turns off the camera. This is something far beyond personal now! How far will Swerve and Hangman go to put this one to bed?
Backstage interview with Adam “Edge” Copeland.
Renee is now with The Rated R Superstar and asks what he thinks of earlier with Sting, Darby & Flair staring down Christian, Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne. We all heard Edge vow not to fight Christian, but is that going to change now? Edge says honestly, no. The friendship with Christian is more important to him than anything that could happen in this business. It just does. But then Darby walks over and says he can’t be that stupid. Darby knows Edge came to AEW to “ride off into the sunset with this fairytale ending,” but that’s not the world we’re living in. Do you think Darby wanted to break Nick’s face? No, he didn’t.
But it’s kill or be killed here. Edge says he respects Darby, but- Sting stops him there! He can’t believe they’re even having this conversation. Sting knows what it is to have the blinders on. Sting was up and down the road with Lex Luger, but he had the blinders on. Edge needs to take his off. That legend out there that just said he’d be with Sting on his way out, the Dirtiest Player in the Game, Sting learned from him. Sting learned how to see right through guys like Christian. Edge just needs to open his eyes up and see it for himself, before it’s too late. Is Edge hearing Sting? Sting gets in Edge’s face and says to listen up before it is too late!
Sting says he and Edge go way back, so don’t mess it up now. Get with it. Will the Rated R Superstar listen to the Icon?

The Hollywood Homecoming is, well, coming and Storm clearly wants her shot at the title. But will it still be Shida holding onto the green- er, gold by then?
Backstage interview with MJF.
Renee checks with the AEW World Champion while the trainer checks his arm. The challenge has been set and accepted, MJF VS Omega is happening on Collision for the AEW World Championship, but also the record for longest reign as AEW World Champion. How is MJF feeling ahead of that match? MJF says there are a lot of emotions, but wait, who is coming in? Samoa Joe is applauding and congratulating the champion. But Joe is here with good intentions. MJF is a man who suffers from a severe lack of friendship. MJF needs a lot more people watching his back these days, by someone who has MJF’s best interests at heart.
So Joe has a simple offer. Joe will be MJF’s “friend.” Oh, sounds good to him. They shake on it, but Joe says this is under one condition: MJF gives Joe the rematch for the AEW World Championship. And he doesn’t have to answer that now. But the way things are going, Joe knows he’ll get his answer soon enough. Joe heads out, did the Devil of AEW just make a deal with another devil?

The Swiss Superman just pinned the International Champion! But wait, Bryan is holding his jaw! Did Bryan get hurt again? Wheeler Yuta & Jon Moxley rush out to check. Is the BCC being whittled down right before our eyes? Meanwhile, the full Best Friends/Chaos contingent hurries out to have Okada stand down. Claudio still has a golden ticket on Cassidy, and Tony Khan’s making it official already! Will Claudio take the International Championship from Cassidy? We also have a stare down of Hook and Yuta, will the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil have to handle The Decoder? Is this all turning into faction warfare before our very eyes?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here with a really star-studded night. Ric Flair showing up as the gift to Sting really was some great stuff given their history, and of course Christian Cage had to rain on the parade. Sting & Darby also had a good moment with Edge, because duh, this is going to give us the Six Man Tag I knew we were getting the moment Edge even showed up here. Hook & RVD of course win against Dark Order, but hard to say where any of that is going. This one might’ve just been because they were in Philly, birthplace of ECW.
And of course, what an awesome main event tag with Okada’s AEW TV debut. Hopefully Bryan isn’t legit hurt after that Orange Punch, as it looks like BCC and Best Friends might have a revived feud going forward. Though I guess that’s assuming the feud was ever considered off. But Cassidy VS Claudio next week for the International title will be awesome stuff, and perhaps could go either way. Yuta and Hook interacting is cool, too, with a potential FTW Championship match happening for both guys to really show their technical abilities but also their hardcore sides, because we know both guys have that in them.
Really good Six Man Tag for the ROH titles, but I figured Hung Bucks would retain. But then that home invasion promo from Swerve was actually powerful stuff. There have been promos like that before, but not quite the way Swerve did them. Both the way he filmed it and just the tone of it really blows the other examples out of the water. This is all why Swerve does deserve to be a singles champion in AEW. Swerve VS Hangman rematch at Full Gear is going to be awesome stuff, and I almost want them to go with an Unsanctioned Match just so they can go wild with it to give us a blow-off.
Great match from Shida VS Soho, with really clever uses of the spray paint and other cheat spots. Shida was of course going to retain, and given what “Hold That Butler!” teased, it is of course going to be Storm facing the champion at Full Gear. I like the field in that Fatal 4 Way to give Shida a challenger on Collision, and it is hard to say who from Skye, Willow, Anna and Abadon will win. However, it just feels right that with Halloween just a week away, Abadon makes a great return to give Shida one more great defense before Full Gear. And that is because, with how things are feeling, Timeless Toni Storm could totally take that title off Shida at Full Gear, as much of a shame that is for Shida.
Great promo from Jericho to tease him bringing someone into this story, and the only person I can think that Jericho means is Paul “Big Show” Wight, harkening back to #JeriShow when they were a half decent tag team. Good promo from Wardlow to explain why he’s suddenly after MJF again, and it does make some sense. Wardlow can’t stand that others have forgiven and accepted MJF when MJF was the worst of the worst, AND Wardlow can’t stand that after beating MJF (during what was basically worked-shoot story of MJF not being happy until he got paid a crap ton of money), it is MJF who gets all the best opportunities. Wardlow got booked into a BS corner where QT helped Hobbs beat him, and Wardlow never got any real revenge, and so he’s going back to the root of the problems: MJF.
And speaking of MJF, great stuff from him at the opening of the show, which is the surprising thing in itself. Would’ve thought they’d have MJF be middle or even main event. But having The Devil of AEW show up separate from MJF is great stuff to establish it is someone else under the mask. Great promo with MJF, Adam Cole and “Simp Strong” as MJF put it, Roddy again messes up how to be a good friend by acting like he’s having to step down to MJF’s level. Great Dynamite Diamond Ring match, and I’m surprised they went with MJF retaining the ring all on his own. But Roddy & Kingdom failing to make the save while Acclaimed succeeded was also a great move, but I should’ve figured MJF would be reluctant to team with Caster.
Omega making a challenge to MJF for Collision is awesome, and that match will be awesome. Something has to happen on Collision that not only helps MJF retain but compels MJF to accept The Acclaimed’s help because who is there for MJF to turn to? MJF rejected Roddy & Kingdom for good reason, but former Pinnacle members ain’t helping MJF (where’d Shawn Spears disappear to this time?) and any other trio probably just hates MJF for his past, too. Samoa Joe had a good promo with MJF, though, setting himself up as next for after even Jay White on Full Gear. Maybe Joe subs in for Adam Cole so that MJF has a proper tag title match against The Gunns during the Zero Hour because that keeps MJF fresh for his match with White, and therefore better off for when Joe gets his turn.
My Score: 8.8/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!
Murder Machines: The most feared tag team in the world! “Don Callis’ favorite wrestler,” Kyle Fletcher, shows every day why he is THE One Percent! He beat Will Ospreay! He beat Kazuchika Okada! And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Cage RAMS into Davis, and RAMS in again, then CHOPS! Davis staggers but Cage whips him to ropes. Davis reverses, to dosido with Cage, only for Cage to CLOBBER Davis! Cage BOOTS Davis down, covers, but Hobbs breaks it! Cage gets mad and the ref reprimands Hobbs, then Cage soaks up heat from DC. Cage stalks Davis to a corner and fires haymakers! The ref reprimands but Cage DECKS Davis! Cage soaks up more heat while he flexes.

The refs keep this from getting any more physical, but will Lio & Action take those belts from Quen & Zay soon enough?

Renee says yes, but she has yet to earn a singles win in AEW. Fine, ruin her fun. But then Harley asks if some person off camera is gonna say anything or just stand there. In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…
Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. Ford will watch Harley’s back and Harley will watch Ford’s. Wait, is something on Harley’s back? No, Harley… Just good luck. FEEL THE WRATH OF HARLEY CAMERON! No, she was being nice to you, Harley. Right, don’t feel the wrath of Harley Cameron. There is nothing on your back, Harley, stop scratching. Wait! W-What? Nothing, sorry. But will Harley be feeling Willow’s wrath instead?

AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Brody King VS Komander!
While the rest of Gold League stands at 6 points, these two men are struggling to keep up. Will the King of Death join that traffic jam at the front of the block? Or will the Commander of the Skies be a spoiler for Christmas?

If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy and Jay White.
Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed and The Switchblade, and says that ahead of their main event Trios match where they team up with Hangman Page, they also must be thinking about their Fatal 4 Way match for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End. Are they more focused on the Death Riders tonight? Or more on each other? Cassidy’s about to speak when White asks Renee to bring the mic over to him. White says Cassidy already gave them a hell of a pep talk in the locker room so he’s all talked out. Where is our focus? Is it on the Death Riders tonight? Is it on each other? Is it on Worlds End?
Make no mistake, Renee, and Mr. Cassidy, White’s focus is on the AEW World Championship. But White knows that they have to make it to Worlds End, so that means relying on people he usually doesn’t rely on. He has no Bang Bang Gang, so that makes he has to rely on the likes of… Orange. And on the likes of Hangman Adam Page. But no, no, no, he is not so stupid to rely on that guy, because he’s only good at one thing: Letting himself and everyone around him down time and time again! So if there is one man they do not need on this team, it is H- HEY! There he is! Hangman Page walks into the room and White does a 180 on his attitude.
Hangman tells White to shut his mouth and listen up. Tonight, Moxley is not White’s nor is he Cassidy’s. Tonight, the champion belongs to Hangman! The Cowboy heads out and White says, “Aye, aye, captain! At least you brought your black jacket so we’re matching tonight! C’mon, partner!” White heads after Hangman, and Cassidy sighs as he puts on his sunglasses. Can the Good, the Bad & the Freshly Squeezed make it past Moxley and his Death Riders? Or will The Maniac, The Decoder & The Bastard use this dysfunction to tear them down?
Darby Allin speaks.
“Darby Allin, Will Ospreay. It’s showtime.”
Will Ospreay speaks.
“Oi, oi, Washington, DC! You’re in for a treat tonight, for the C2 rolls on, and you get to witness an elite dream match as the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, goes one-on-one with Darby Allin. And while I am grateful for saving my neck last week, sir, don’t let that stand in the way because it’s time for warfare, bruv. And no one fairs better in warfare than the Assassin. So allow me to show you why my name is Will Ospreay, and why I am on another level.” Both men need this win if they want to head for Worlds End, who will be one step closer to those semifinals?

FTR speaks.
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler were at home in Asheville, North Carolina, and Cash says it has been a few days since what happened to them on Collision. And it was over nothing. FTR said they had no problems with the Death Riders. They may not agree with the Death Riders’ methods, and they don’t disagree with the message. AEW does need to change for the better, some people need to be forced into that change. But FTR stopped them from poisoning a man! They weren’t going to sit back and watch them pour cleaning solution down a human being’s throat. That is all they did. And yet that gets them blindfolded, dragged outside, and the crap kicked out of them, left for dead in the cold…
As they were lying on the concrete, Dax was thinking, “What is a life after wrestling? Is there a life after wrestling for FTR?” They built their whole lives around this one thing, so what else is there for them to do? They got off the phone with Doc Sampson just before filming this. Doc says he won’t medically cleared them for the rest of the year. So from now until January 1st, Death Riders better not sleep, because FTR will show up at their doorstep. That won’t be good for them or their families. But on January 1st, Asheville, NC, FTR will be there. They will be in that ring, they will be cleared, and they will fight the Death Riders.
By the way, they won’t be coming alone. #TopGuysOut. Who could Dax & Cash be hinting at as allies against Moxley and his minions?
MJF is here!
Washington, DC is not all that happy to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman going to the ring with a mic in hand, even if he’s dressed in his Hannukah suit. MJF has them cut his music, and he takes a moment to hear all the booing. “Oh, you don’t like me, huh, guys? Good thing I don’t care about the opinions of a bunch of disgustings from DC. I mean, if I did care about your opinion, I wouldn’t have signed on to be an AEW wrestler, I would’ve signed on to become a part of your whack-ass Washington Wizards. Oh, it’s my fault they suck? That’s my fault? I’m sorry.” Some fans actually chant, “Wizards Suck! Wizards Suck!”
MJF says let’s face it, guys. He’s no Scrooge. For crying out loud, it’s the most wonderful time~ of the year~! MJF says pretty soon, the most important holiday, which is part of the most important religion, is coming up. And yes, you guessed it, it’s Hannukah. And if you don’t celebrate that, well sorry, Santa is not real and MJF is not sorry for saying it. The fans chant for “SANTA! SANTA!” which confuses MJF. Santa didn’t give them a lump of coal, it was because their parents were too poor to get real gifts. So everyone just pipe down a bit, okay? The fans boo but MJF continues.
MJF says Hannukah is all about giving, so he is feeling rather philanthropic. Not that anyone in this crowd knows what that means. MJF is about to get a bit emotional, but he wants to talk about a fundraiser he has started. Sorry, he might cry, give him a second. MJF gets fake tears going as he asks for the sad music. The sad piano music plays, and MJF looks into the camera. “Picture this. There’s a small child sitting across from you. It is starving, it needs nourishment, it needs food. Now picture that that small child is this baybay.” A clearly doctored photo of Adam Cole appears on screen, making him look very scrawny.
MJF knows it is hard to look at but don’t avert your eyes. Cut the music, please. The music stops and MJF says right now, if you wanna help the “freakishly small, yellow baybay, all you have to do is scan the QR code you see on your screen so you can buy the Worlds End PPV this Saturday, December 28th. Guys, I’m talking, would you please shut the hell up? Unreal! To think I’m opening up to you hear. And if you buy that PPV, a part of your money will go towards my foundation to help put this small yellow child out of his misery. And for that, and for the fact that I’m better than you, you can thank me later!”
MJF drops the mic but Cole is on the tron! Adam Cole says look! Now he’s the one on the big screen while MJF is the one in the ring, looking like an idiot. As we all know, it is Cole VS MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Worlds End. And Cole wants to give MJF a heads up. He just had a meeting with Tony Khan. And because Cole knows how badly MJF wants to get his hands on his diamond ring. And if MJF wants to grab that ring before the bell rings, he’ll have to earn it. There are two men who will be ringside to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Kingdom step in, and Adam Cole says MJF will have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide.
MJF is a dead man and Cole will finally finish this at Worlds End! BOOM. Oh, wait, hold on. Cole must be forgetting something. There was one more thing he wanted to say. Oh, right! Max, is Cole kicking your ass yet? MJF is confused, but surprise! Adam Cole is already in the ring! That video is prerecorded! MJF turns around, and Cole DECKS him! The fans fire up as Cole rains down fists on MJF! MJF pushes Cole away but Cole keeps him from getting away! SUPERKICK! MJF is down, but Cole drags him up and goes to a corner! The fans fire up for the PANAMA- NO, MJF scrambles out of the ring!
MJF gets away by the skin of his teeth, but will Cole kick those teeth down his throat and finally end the Dynamite Diamond Win Streak?
Jamie Hayter speaks.
“You can’t fight what you don’t see. But I see you exactly for what you are, Julia: a coward. Last Saturday on Collision, you decided to finally show up. But was it face to face? No, ma’am. It was when I was beat, when I was tired, and you used your tricks to attack me from behind. That’s a sneaky, classless move, Julia. Message sent. I know you’re listening, Julia, so here’s my message to you. Fight for the Fallen. I’m gonna serve you a dish best served cold. I’m gonna drop you on your head, and I’m gonna serve you up a heavy dose of Hayterade. See you then, mate.” Will Hayter kick off the New Year by crushing Julia Hart?

BREAKING NEWS for Christmas Collision!
As a reminder, it will be LIVE coast to coast on TNT this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern or whenever NCAA College Football Playoff coverage ends. That said, Adam Cole may have gotten one over on MJF tonight, but he and MJF are going to be face to face live and in person for final words before Worlds End. Plus, the Continental Classic will keep things cheery and bright as Darby Allin will face Claudio Castagnoli, and Will Ospreay will face Ricochet! Rivals all face off, who will look to take over Gold League? And in Blue League, Mark Briscoe battles The Beast Mortos while Daniel Garcia faces Shelton Benjamin! Will the Sussex County Chicken survive the menacing minotaur? Will Red Death live up to the Standard of Excellence?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“I was once known as The King of the World. And everybody wants to rule the world. But every king needs a throne from which to rule. A castle, a capital, a city. And there is no better perch, no greater vantage point from which to rule the world than New York City. From the urine soaked sidewalks of Broadway to the tear-filled potholes of Jamaica Queens. From the brownstones of Tribeca to the poshest penthouses of Spanish Harlem. From the lowliest of subjects, the ubiquitous rats, to the prominent powerbrokers and popstars, paparazzi in their wake, all have anointed me, Chris Jericho, the King of New York! And I’ll be damned if I let anyone take my crown.”
The Learning Tree thinks highly of himself as always, but he better take Final Battle seriously! Friday, December 20th, Jericho defends the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cardona, who is #AlwayZReady! Will “The Complete” Cardona take away the Nueve’s title?
Mariah May speaks.
“Thunder Rosa. When you were working as a social worker, why did you wanna become a wrestler? Was it to make your family proud? Cute. A hero is just a dreamer who doesn’t realize they’re dreaming. I’m no hero. I spent my entire career just looking out for me, and I’d say it’s served me pretty well. How dare you say this Women’s Division is alive and well when I’ve eclipsed everyone here, just by being me. And if I was here four years ago, you wouldn’t have even been hired. So let’s do your little Tijuana Street Fight so you can go on about your heritage and your culture, and please bring your father. I would love to end two generations in one night.
“And Papa Rosa? Does being a failure run in the family? I won’t be bringing my father to Worlds End. I don’t want him to se what I’m going to do.” The Glamour has sent her ultimatum, but will she regret running her mouth?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone says that later tonight, we will see Will Ospreay VS Darby Allin in the Continental Classic. But Ospreay has his work cut out for him as live this Saturday on Christmas Collision, in the Hammerstein Ballroom, he will face this man! Let’s welcome in Ricochet! The fans fire up as The One & Only makes his way to the ring. Schiavone congratulates Ricochet on his six points so far, and says he could advance to Orlando, Florida. But there has been perhaps a change in attitude and demeanor lately. Ricochet says, “But didn’t it look real good on me, though?” Schiavone says sure, but wait! Here comes the Hurt Business!
Ricochet is a little surprised, and maybe a little worried. Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin all go to the ring and fans sing along, “We Hurt People! We Hurt People!” Ricochet nervously asks what’s up, and MVP brings him in close. Ricochet says everyone looks great. They collectively look great! But honestly, he’s happy they’re here. He wants to ask them if they saw how he beat the brakes off of Komander. MVP says yeah, they saw that. Then did they see him handle Brody King? Yeah, they saw that. And Ricochet has six points! Ricochet figures after tonight, Shelton might have six points, and they could face each other in the near future.
Ricochet says they could keep this business on lock. Wow, you don’t say? Absolutely! Facts! Because the last two guys Ricochet has to face, they’re facing each other tonight, Ospreay and Darby. So Ricochet is going to watch that. And then Saturday, he has Ospreay. Ospreay will see that different side of Ricochet, you feeling him? MVP says yeah, he’s feeling it. Does Ricochet still have the business card? MVP wants to see it. Ricochet brings the card out, and Lashley grabs him by the neck! MVP takes the card, and he RIPS IT UP! MVP has revoked his invitation, and he says nobody likes a kiss ass. Lashley lets Ricochet go, straightens the suit out, and pats Ricochet on the back.
Ricochet leaves the ring, and he says they can talk about this later. MVP tells Shelton that he’s got business to handle, so go hurt somebody. MVP & Lashley fist bump with Shelton before Lashley heads out per Continental Classic rules. MVP joins commentary to watch this closely, will the Standard of Excellence be able to bring down The Beast Mortos?

The fans boo as The All Mighty beats up on Mortos, but MVP says Mortos could use a little more of what Shelton gave him during the match. Show ’em what we do! Shelton drags Mortos up, reels him back in, and GERMAN SUPLEXES! Mortos sputters and MVP tells Daniel Garcia, this is what you have to look forward to on Saturday! But wait! Garcia is here! Garcia has them cut the music so he can tell MVP, “I’m not stupid, I can do the math. There’s three of y’all and one of me.”
Garcia knows what’d happen if he came to the ring on his own. But he doesn’t care, because everyone in DC wants to see a fight tonight! Let’s get it! But wait, MARK BRISCOE is here! The Sussex County Chicken won’t let Garcia fight alone, so they brawl with Shelton and Lashley! But Lashley shoves Garcia back and CLOBBERS him! MVP CRACKS his cane on Briscoe’s back! MVP hands the TNT Championship to Shelton, they’re clearly planning things beyond the C2. Will Shelton snatch himself a golden ticket one way or another this Saturday?
Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee is now with The One & Only and asks about that interaction in the ring. It seems business with The Hurt Syndicate is off the table. Ricochet says honestly, he doesn’t know. They gave him the card, he thought he was doing what they wanted, but… Ricochet is a bit frazzled but he says that we’re not going to worry about that. The Syndicate can do what they do. But for Ricochet, he’ll worry about the Continental Classic. Like he said out there, “ya boy’s already got 6 points.” But on Saturday, he steps into the ring with one of the main reasons he even came to AEW, and that is Will Ospreay.
Ricochet says it is funny. He didn’t come to AEW just to step into the ring with Ospreay. He came here to shut the world up and prove he can beat Will Ospreay. And so, as he said, he is going to have his eyes glued to this next match, HAHA~~! But then he turns around and Swerve Strickland is there, as is Prince Nana sipping his coffee. Nana nods and Swerve says, “What up, turd?” Oh, cute, call him a turd. The fans are loudly chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve says when Ricochet first showed up, it was only a matter of time before the real Rico- No, the real Trevor showed himself.
Oh, going there, huh? Yeah. But Swerve says in the 14 years of knowing Ricochet, Swerve thought Ricochet had changed. But turns out, no, that’s still the same ol’ Trevor: a follower. Hate to tell you, Ricochet, but that won’t work here. Because AEW is whose house? Swerve’s House! Ricochet laughs that off and says he was wondering how long it’d take for him to hear that stuff. He’s glad Swerve brought that. But he also knows the real Swerve. And Swerve didn’t win the C2, now did he? So Ricochet knows it will eat Swerve up when Ricochet does. HAHA~! Ricochet leaves and Swerve says that’s why Ricochet’s still bald.
But win, lose or draw for Ricochet, will Swerve be waiting on the other side of Worlds End with the Killshot?
RJ City presents Toni Storm: Portrait of a Rockstar.
Toni Storm introduces herself to RJ, even though they’ve met… She’s so excited, look at all the lights and cameras. So cool. RJ asks Toni to explain where she’s been. And now it’s led her hear to AEW! Uh, what? Yeah, hard to believe, huh? Okay, but uh, what about her history with AEW? Toni says she’s watched every show since the start, and she cannot believe she’s finally made it. Um, okay… What about her being a THREE-TIME AEW Women’s World Champion?

FOUR men stand at 2-1 with 6 points, and we will see them all face off on Christmas Collision! Will Ospreay VS Ricochet, Darby Allin VS Claudio Castagnoli, who will be the two that come out ahead? But speaking of the Death Riders, here they come! They have their main event Six Man Tag, but the Swiss Cyborg is eyeing his next target. Will Darby stick it to the Death Riders when he makes sure Claudio does NOT make it to Worlds End?
Six Man Tag: The Death Riders VS Orange Cassidy, Jay White & Hangman Page!
AEW returns, and while Darby Allin was allowed to leave unscathed, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Pac will certainly deal plenty of damage to all three contenders. Will the Death Riders be riding high on the road to Orlando? Or will Freshly Squeezed, The Switchblade & The Blackhat Cowboy actually make a formidable trio?
The teams sort out and Hangman starts against Yuta. The bell rings but Hangman of course wants Moxley to man up and tag in. Yuta says no way, so Hangman tags Cassidy. The fans boo and Hangman argues with Jay White, but Cassidy throws his sunglasses at Yuta before firing off fists! Yuta fires back, the fans fire up as Cassidy fires a flurry! Yuta shoves Cassidy but Cassidy SHOTGUNS Yuta! The fans cheer as Cassidy stares down with Moxley. Moxley eggs Cassidy on, then he gets away from Cassidy. Pac grabs Cassidy, Yuta runs up, but Cassidy BOOTS Yuta and ELBOWS Pac! Yuta comes back but Cassidy DUMPS him out!
Yuta bumps into Pac, Cassidy springboards to CANNONBALL! Down go Pac and Yuta! Cassidy puts Yuta in, but Moxley THROAT CHOPS Cassidy! The fans boo but Yuta tags Moxley. Moxley brings Cassidy around to put in the ring, and then drags him up to reel him in! Moxley lifts Cassidy, but Cassidy fights and flails! Moxley tries to hold on, but Cassidy powers up to BEACH BREAK! At least, halfway between that and a backdrop. Moxley and Cassidy still crawl, but then White leaves Cassidy hanging! Hangman still tags in, but so does Yuta! Hangman CLOBBERS Yuta, DECKS Pac, and then BOOTS Yuta!
Hangman triangle jumps to LARIAT Pac! Hangman dodges Yuta to scoop and FALL AWAY SLAM! Hangman kips up, stares Moxley down, then goes out after Pac. Hangman pushes Pac aside to go for Moxley but Marina Shafir stands in the way. She’s a problem as always, but Yuta CLUBS Hangman on the back! Yuta puts Hangman in, then runs up, but into a fireman’s carry! Yuta fights free, runs, but into a LARIAT! Hangman snarls and he TOSSES Yuta to the corner. Hangman dares Moxley to man up and tag in! Moxley grins, but then Jay White tags in!? The fans are torn while Hangman and White argue about this.
The ref tells Hangman he has to step out so Hangman steps out. And then he LEAVES! Hangman already made it clear he only cared so long as he got to beat up Death Riders, have White’s antics just cost the team? Moxley does tag in and he runs up on White! White clinches but Moxley slips free! White BLASTS Yuta and Pac to deny Moxley an escape, but Moxley CLOBBERS White! Moxley argues with the ref now, and Claudio UPPERCUTS Cassidy! The fans boo but then Moxley gives White a PILEDRIVER! Death Riders are in control as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Moxley drags White toa cover, TWO!! White barely gets his arm up, but Moxley drags him around. Moxley puts White in the corner, tags Pac, and the Death Riders mug White. Pac pulls White’s hair and Yuta CHOKES White, but Yuta lets off as the ref counts. Pac then digs his boots in while the ref’s busy! Marina taunts White with the briefcase that holds the title, but the ref finally notices the shenanigans. Pac lets off to argue with the ref, and Moxley gets a cheap shot in! Pac BLASTS Cassidy off the apron, too! White gets up, fights back with haymakers and CHOPS, but Yuta YANKS him down!
White sputters but Pac goes out to fetch him. Pac puts White in the ring, covers, TWO! Pac drags White up to cravat, and Moxley tags in so the Death Riders can mug White. Moxley ROCKS White, CLAWS White’s back, then CLAWS him again! Moxley brings White up to climb the corner. Moxley rains down fists, Claudio gets a cheap shot on Cassidy, and Moxley goes all the way to TEN! Moxley argues with the ref now, and Claudio gets a cheap shot on White! Moxley storms up on White while the Holiday Bash returns to single picture. Moxley drags White up, turns him, and hits a NECKBREAKER!
Tag to Yuta and Yuta drags White around, to then drop a KNEE! Yuta kneels on White’s neck, waits for the ref to count, and then steps off at 4. Yuta scuffs White, White rises up to CHOP! Yuta pulls White’s ear! The ref counts, the fans tell Yuta off, but Moxley gets another cheap shot in on Cassidy! But then White clinches to EXPLODER Yuta up and out to the floor! Claudio is disappointed but White sees he has no one! Yuta crawls into the ring while White shouts for Orange! Yuta tags Pac, and Pac runs up, but White dodges! White CHOPS Pac, and CHOPS, and CHOPS again! Pac kicks low, runs, but into a BACKDROP!
The fans fire up and its Guns Up for the DC Gold Members! White hauls Pac up but Pac fights the urenage! Pac elbows White away, runs up, but White puts him on the apron! But Pac slingshots in for a CUTTER! White sputters and Pac waits on him to stand. Pac SOBATS, KICKS, and SOBATS! Pac runs, but White avoids the boot! White LARIATS Pac inside-out! Pac staggers up, into the sleeper! CUTTHROAT PLEX! The fans fire up and White says BANG. White runs, Claudio steps in the way, but White still heads back for Pac. Pac dodges to SNAP GERMAN! Pac shakes out the stars while White flounders.
Pac crawls over, tag to Moxley. Cassidy rises, but he’s still so far away! Moxley drags White up, talks trash, but White slips around! CUTTHROAT PLEX! Moxley roars as he rises up, but White gets around again! DDT!! Moxley is dazed, White flounders over, hot tag to Cassidy! Cassidy goes up to DEEP IMPACT! The fans fire up and Cassidy “unleashes” those kicks! Then he actually kicks and stomps away on Moxley! Cassidy runs, but he ducks ‘n’ dodges first before he tilt-o-whirl DDTS! Moxley flounders, staggers, and Yuta gets in! Cassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges Yuta now, tilt-o-whirl- NO, Yuta stops that!
Yuta suplexes, STUN DOG- NO, Yuta stops that, too! Yuta GERMAN SUPLEXES Cassidy! White gets in, CUTTHROAT PLEX! Pac baits White into a corner and BOOTS him down! Pac goes up top, but Cassidy goes right after him! White gets outta the way before the SUPERPLEX! The fans are thunderous as Cassidy rises, but Moxley is in! Moxley spins Cassidy around to kick and underhook! Cassidy slips out, dodges, and ORANGE- CUTTER!! Moxley turns things around, but HANGMAN IS BACK! Hangman fires hands on Moxley! Hangman whips, Moxley reverses, but Hangman goes to the apron!
The fans fire up as Hangman loads up! Hangman BOOTS Moxley, then Cassidy hits an ORANGE PUNCH!! Hangman is pissed as Cassidy hits his target! Pac grabs Hangman’s legs, but Hangman kicks him away! Yuta sends Cassidy into Hangman! Yuta suplexes, but into STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! Hangman slingshots, Cassidy dodges, BUCKSHOT hits Yuta!! And probably not on purpose… Pac returns, Hangman dodges, White gets Pac with BLADERUNNER!! White and Hangman argue about this, but Cassidy sighs. Moxley rolls Cassidy up! Holding the waistband!! DEATH RIDERS WIN!!
Winners: Death Riders, by pinfall
White and Hangman were so busy with each other, they didn’t save their teammate! Cassidy gets pissed with both of them, but now it doesn’t matter because Worlds End is every man for themselves. But wait, the Death Riders are flanking the ring, and Moxley has a chair! Cassidy, White & Hangman realize this, and now they stand back-to-back-to-back. They finally fight as a united front as they throw hands on the Death Riders! Cassidy DECKS Pac, White DECKS Claudio and Hangman DECKS Moxley! The Death Riders and their enemies brawl on the outside, but Marina makes sure Moxley gets outta there!
ORANGE PUNCH for Pac! Hangman and Yuta fire hands now and Hangman sends Yuta into railing! Hangman still wants to take out Moxley, but so do White and Cassidy. Will Worlds End be where Moxley’s reign of terror ends? Or will The Maniac AEW World Champion use all of his enemies against each other like he did tonight?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, a lot of action but also a lot of set-up for the following weeks. Great promo from FTR to give us a kayfabe reason for them to take time off for two weeks. Granted, everyone is getting time off next week because the Christmas episode is being recorded this weekend for that big Hammerstein Ballroom booking. But anyway, FTR and friends against Death Riders, that’ll be a lot of fun for Fight for the Fallen, can’t wait to see it. Great promo stuff from MJF and Adam Cole ahead of their Dynamite Diamond Ring match. I don’t usually cheer Heels but I could not help but laugh at the Photoshop’d extra skinny Adam Cole. Great use of prerecorded message from Cole, too. Their faceoff for Christmas Collision is probably the go-home segment and that could go either way.
Good promo from Hayter to call out Julia Hart, but I’m surprised their match won’t be on Worlds End. At the same time, I get it, Julia needs time to get that ring rust off before wrestling such a big match so a few more days to prepare is fine. Plus, if Hayter VS Hart is given proper time on Fight for the Fallen, that’ll really help that card and this feud. Very good vignette promo from Jericho to put himself over while also simultaneously putting down and putting over New York. As much as fans might want Cardona to win, I still feel Jericho is going to win so that he can take credit for ROH getting a cable TV deal.
Very good promo from Mariah May to call out Rosa and talk down on the Tijuana Street Fight. Depending on how AEW wants to play this, I could see Rosa winning since this is her match idea so that she and Toni Storm revisit their feud as if it were the first time. Because yes, they continue the genius idea that Toni Storm doesn’t remember anything of her AEW career. In essence, Toni seems to think she’s still that young indie wrestler who hadn’t even made it to WWE. This could be played as Toni just playing us all, or as Toni actually having another psychological break where she really thinks she’s old school Toni Storm, and it’s genius either way.
Great TBS Championship match from Mone, and of course she retained at Strong Style Evolved. Apparently Mone VS Hazuki was another great match from Mone, I wish I had the time to watch Strong Style Evolved. But Mone VS Kris for Worlds End followed by Mone VS Mina for WrestleDynasty, like, one of those has to give. Mone is still a great Heel, but she needs a comeuppance at some point, and the last big PPV of AEW 2024 and the first-ever WrestleDynasty are each proper stages for a big loss to happen. Then Mone can then focus on one company, and it’ll certainly be AEW over NJPW.
Very good tag match from Hook & Shibata VS The Patriarchy, but it works that The Patriarchy cheat this win. Hook VS Nick is going to happen in the Hammerstein Ballroom, though I think it’ll be for the Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street episode that’s being taped this weekend. Otherwise, they would’ve just told us it was for Christmas Collision and there we go. But either way, Hook losing here means he is of course winning against Nick Wayne, and then maybe, just maybe, Hook goes after Christian for Worlds End or even Fight for the Fallen.
Great stuff with Ricochet tonight, as he doubles down on being this cocky side of himself, only to get rejected by The Hurt Syndicate and called out by Swerve. That sets up a lot of stuff for Ricochet to do after Worlds End, even if he isn’t Continental Champion. Ricochet’s promo was also a great segue into the great C2 match of Shelton VS Mortos. Great win for Shelton, and then the beatdown on Mortos bringing out Garcia and Briscoe was good stuff. Garcia VS Shelton is going to be great, and I do like the tease of Shelton wanting the TNT Championship. 2025 is definitely going to be Hurt Syndicate climbing up the ranks and grabbing up belts, so I could see Shelton being the first guy to do that.
Good promos from Darby and Ospreay to help open the show, and then just an absolute instant classic for their match. Darby scared us all again with that horrifying crash landing on the apron, but somehow he’s still in one piece. Darby winning wasn’t so much a shocker, but it is surprising they’ve given us quite the log jam at 6 points. Christmas Collision is going to be great stuff just on the drama of who comes away with 9 points. Ospreay VS Ricochet and Darby VS Claudio, that is great timing given those are some hot rivalry matches. And Darby winning was a great segue for Death Riders to come out and go to their main event match.
Great promo from Cassidy, White & Hangman to help hype this match, and it went about how I expected. Hangman abandoning the team was good stuff, because he of course came back when we least expected it. But at the same time, with Death Riders having extra people, they of course snatched that win away. The Fatal 4 Way is going to be great, but we’ve still got time to figure out this go-home math. And even then, it’s a Fatal 4 AND Christian Cage could choose to cash in at some point, the formula for this go-home math is too complex. But that said, I actually feel like Christian Cage should cash in. Imagine Christian as world champion being the last moment of AEW 2024 and then Fight for the Fallen, New Year’s Day, Christian opens the show just to gloat.
My Score: 8.9/10
