Sam Gradwell VS Kenny Williams!

The Thunderstorm tried to teach the Scum of the Earth a lesson not to mock him, but Kenny got the last laugh in screwing over Sam Gradwell and Saxon Huxley. But now Gradwell is looking to finish what he started. Will #KennyCockroach survive what’s coming for him?

Wait, Kenny comes out with crutches? “Whoa, Sammy Boy, I’m sorry to disappoint you. I had a terrible accident and hurt my knee. You know all about knee injuries, don’t you, Sam?” Sam gets mad at the clear insult Kenny’s hurling, but Kenny wants him to calm down. If Sam doesn’t believe Kenny, that’s fine. Kenny’s got a doctor’s note. So that’s it. No match tonight- Sid Scala interrupts via titantron. Sid checked with NXT UK Medical, and they informed Sid that there is no record of Kenny’s knee injury. In fact, he’s cleared to compete. The only thing Sid was updated on is that there seems to be a pair of stolen crutches! Start the match!

Gradwell rushes out, Kenny wields a crutch as a weapon but misses! Gradwell DECKS Kenny, puts him in the ring, and Kenny has to compete in street clothes! The bell rings, Gradwell fires off in the corner! Gradwell snapmares and CLOBBERS Kenny! Then scoops to SLAM him! Gradwell bumps Kenny off buckles, fires off more forearms, then whips him corner to corner hard! Kenny bounces off buckles chest first, and Gradwell drags Kenny up. Gradwell whips corner to corner, but Kenny reverses to pull on Gradwell’s mohawk! So Gradwell pulls on Kenny’s ear! Kenny punches free and runs in, but into more buckles!

Gradwell whips Kenny, Kenny goes up but gets caught! Kenny rakes eyes to get free! CHOP BLOCK to the leg! Kenny goes to ropes, pendulum LARIAT! Kenny knocks Gradwell down with a hip drop, talks trash in Gradwell’s face, but Gradwell grabs him by the neck! Kenny SLAPS free, rains down forearms, then hip drops again. Kenny struts as he takes off his shirt and then throws the shirt at Gradwell. Kenny cravats to crank the neck but Gradwell fights up. Kenny throws knees, but Gradwell throws body shots. Kenny snapmares, scrapes his soles on Gradwell’s face, then CLAWS his back!

The ref reprimands while Gradwell gets to ropes. Kenny KICKS Gradwell’s arm out! Kenny jumps on Gradwell’s back again and again, but lets off as the ref counts. Kenny runs side to side, but Gradwell slips out before the elbow drop. Gradwell grabs Kenny by the ear again and drags him out to ROCK him with a haymaker! Gradwell then gets in, rallies on Kenny with big clotheslines, and has him in a corner for a forearm smash! Gradwell whips Kenny corner to corner, then BACK DROPS him on the rebound! Gradwell underhooks the arms for a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Kenny sputters, Gradwell spins, but into a school boy with bridge! TWO!!

Kenny staggers, into an STO! Cover, TWO! Gradwell grows frustrated but he keeps on Kenny with haymakers. Gradwell whips but Kenny holds ropes to block. Kenny ROCKS Gradwell, then YANKS him into ropes! Gradwell still comes back, but Kenny jumps! Sunset flip, but Gradwell sits on it! Gradwell wins!

Winner: Sam Gradwell, by pinfall

Kenny throws a fit, but he gets the crutch! He CLOBBERS Gradwell from behind with it, then SMACKS him over and over on the back! Kenny says Gradwell deserves that! But he’s not done there! He brings out the toolbox from under the ring! And he brings in some scissors! Kenny asks if Gradwell’s still a big man. And then he CUTS THE MOHAWK! Kenny laughs and gives his “artwork” a kiss. Kenny leaves as Gradwell comes to and realizes what happened. Will Gradwell get revenge for the humiliation Kenny’s put on him?

The Gallus Boys watch last week’s episode back.

Joe & Mark Coffey are laughing at the premiere of Gallus Boys On Talk, and the argument they were having with Noam Dar, Sha Samuels & Jordan Devlin. But Wolfgang is the only one not laughing, given what Devlin did to him last week. The Coffey Boys are practically falling out of their chairs, but Wolfgang points out he’s not laughing. Joe asks what Wolfgang’s gonna do about it then. Wolfgang tells them to watch and see. Will all of Gallus be in a good mood after tonight’s main event?

NXT UK Media catches up with Xia Brookside.

They thank her for taking this time, and she’s very excited. Daddy said they were going to come here to talk all about her. So what do they wanna talk about first? Her training? Her journey? Just ask away. Well they want to ask if she sees herself as a positive role model like Amale. Amale..?! No one cared about her two months ago! Xia was the role model for three-and-a-half YEARS! Then Amale comes in with her boohoo sob story, “I’ve had a really hard life.” Imagine being the daughter of a British LEGEND! Daddy’s gonna hear about this!! Xia storms off, but will she just have to take this up with Amale?

The Bomber training begins.

Jack Starz wants to earn a vest just like Dave Mastiff’s, so we begin with challenge #1: Bomber level physicality! Mastiff himself says, “Anyone worthy of a cut must be in prime physical condition.” Mastiff remembers when Rip Rodgers once did a full hour of free squats. If Starz wants to earn his vest, then the stamina machine he is must do the same. Go! Wait, one hour of squats? Right now? YEP! Tick-tock! Starz gets going, and two hours later, someone comes asking Mastiff if he’s seen Starz. Oh shoot! Mastiff takes another hour getting back to Starz, and though he’s slowing down, he’s still going! Guess Starz passed that challenge.

Challenge 2: Bomber level appetite! “A man who wears a cut must also know how to fill his belly.” Mastiff wants Starz to replenish with dry biscuits. Well alright. Starz starts munching, but Mastiff tells him to eat the whole sleeve. Some time later, and with a lot of crumbs everywhere, Starz finishes the sleeve. Nope, one last bit. There you go! Now let’s get dinner. Challenge 3: Bomber level guts! Mastiff earned his cut by being fearless, so Starz must be the same. Starz doesn’t wanna streak in the PC! Aw c’mon, give the people what they want! They don’t want a naked Starz! But Starz wants his vest, doesn’t he?

Starz takes a deep breath, and still chickens out! Aw, c’mon, Jack! Starz runs his naked behind around the back, will he find his own way to prove he has Bomber level guts?

Sam Gradwell is storming backstage.

He wants to know where Kenny ran off to! Get out of his way! Gradwell storms down the halls, kicks in door after door, but still no Kenny. Will the Scum of the Earth make himself scarce around these parts until the Thunderstorm blows over?

Emilia McKenzie VS Angel Hayze!

Meiko Satomura’s protégé is back in action, hoping to prove herself worth of her sensei. But will #SuplexMillie climb up the ladder towards the NXT UK Women’s Championship? Or will she be lost in a daze thanks to Hayze?

The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, go around, and Millie gets a headlock. She grinds Hayze, but Hayze fights up. Hayze rolls it to a cover, ONE! Victory roll, TWO! Millie rams Hayze, runs, but Hayze hurdles then hip tosses! Cover, TWO! Hayze clamps on with a facelock and she grinds Millie down. Millie fights up, powers up, but can’t get free as Hayze holds tight. Millie keeps trying, and she powers Hayze to a corner! The ref counts, Millie wrenches to arm-drag Hayze then runs her over! Cover, TWO! Millie keeps cool, fixes her ponytail, and she drags Hayze up to CLUB her down!

Millie drags Hayze up, DECKS her with a right, and then covers, TWO! Millie clamps on with a chinlock, thrashes Hayze around and grinds her into the mat! Hayze endures as Millie almost has a Bully Choke. Hayze fights up, Millie keeps on the hold as she bridges back. Millie thrashes Hayze around more, but Hayze still refuses to quit. Hayze fights up, throws body shots, and pushes Millie away. Millie comes back, Hayze spins her to ROCK her with forearms, uppercuts and a ROLLING ELBOW! Hayze runs, FLYING FOREARM! Hayze aims from a corner, runs in, back elbow in a corner! Hayze keeps going, SLINGBLADE! Cover, TWO!

Hayze keeps cool and she drags Millie back up. Hayze has the facelock, goes for a fisherman, but Millie blocks. Millie wrenches out, knees low, then reels Hayze in, TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Millie drags Hayze up, BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Hayze survives and Millie grows frustrated. Millie waistlocks and deadlifts Hayze, but Hayze flails to resist. Hayze wrenches out and arm-drags, then SUPERKICKS! Cover, TWO! Hayze can’t believe it, but she keeps moving! Hayze wheelbarrows, but into a FACEBUSTER! Cover, Millie wins!

Winner: Emilia McKenzie, by pinfall

Millie didn’t use a suplex but she did take advantage of that opening to get that win! Will Millie make moves towards the title, even if it’s held by her mentor?

Andy Shepherd interviews Nathan Frazer.

Shepherd has a WWE Digital Exclusive here, and he says it has been a rather eventful few weeks for Frazer, namely that big win over Teoman. Frazer says those “Die Familie boys needed to get a taste of their own medicine.” They literally mugged him in the parking lot, so he’s happy to have shut them up a bit. Shepherd also notes that incredible match with Der Ring General a month ago. Frazer admits he was scared just seeing the entrance. He was thinking, “How they hell did I get here?” But after, Frazer felt he could hang with the best. Now, he knows that Shepherd’s a good journalist, he’ll ask Frazer what’s next for him.

“Ilja Dragunov. I challenge you for the NXT UK title.” Calling his shot, making the most out of his opportunities. Well maybe we could see that very soon! Will the British Prodigy look to step up to that next level against The Czar of NXT UK?

Die Familie meets.

Charlie Dempsey joins Rohan Raja and Teoman in the penthouse. Teoman says he is not ashamed of losing. But he gave them a promise. Raja says Teoman has kept that promise. Look at where they are! Teoman promised he would look after the family, and he did. Teoman says he is not a loser, and never will be a loser, so long as the family wins. Dempsey says the Eye must’ve foreseen all of this. Maybe that loss is what will bring them closer together. Teoman agrees! No one can stop them. That is the new promise. Will The Babo keep his promise so that he and his brothers in arms can rise to the top of NXT UK?

Stevie Turner VS Myla Grace!

The Fourth Dimensional Superstar may have lost to the French Hope, but she’s not given up her mission to reach the top. Will NXT UK enter the Fourth Dimension as Turner looks to turn the corner?

The bell rings and Stevie circles with Grace. They tie up, break, and then go again. They go around again, Grace powers Stevie back but Stevie turns it to put Grace in a corner. The ref counts, Stevie lets off with a shove. Grace comes back to tie up again, but Stevie headlocks. Grace endures, pries free and has a top wristlock. Stevie pulls hair but Grace wrenches to a wristlock. Grace then leap frogs and arm-drags Stevie for an armlock! Stevie endures, fights up, powers Grace to a corner and digs her palms in. Stevie lets off at 2 to KNEE low! Stevie whips Grace corner to corner, but Grace goes up and over and schoolgirls, TWO!

Grace kicks and whips Stevie but Stevie reverses to THESZ PRESS! Stevie rains down forearms, but Grace shoves her away. Stevie BOOTS Grace, stomps her to ropes, then runs to BOOT WASH Grace down! Stevie fires up, covers, TWO! Stevie clamps on with a chinlock, and digs her knee into Grace’s back. Grace endures, fights up, and throws body shots. Stevie kicks low, runs, and knee lifts Grace down! Cover, TWO! Stevie grows frustrated but she clamps back on with the chinlock. Grace endures as the knee digs into her back again. Stevie pulls hair but the ref reprimands. Grace fights up, and JAWBREAKERS!

Stevie throws hands but Grace counter punches! Grace fires off forearms in the corner, then reels Stevie in for a short arm LARIAT! Grace throws more clotheslines, runs in and blocks boots to put Stevie in the ropes! Grace CHOPS Stevie on the back, runs and 619’s Stevie down! Grace steps in, TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO! Grace can’t believe it but Stevie survives! Grace drags Stevie up, fisherman but Stevie fights out. Stevie wrenches and ROCKS Grace, whips her, but Grace ducks and dodges, only for Stevie to BOOT her down! Stevie gets Grace up, SIDE EFFECT! Cover, Stevie wins!

Winner: Stevie Turner, by pinfall

And Stevie’s back on a winning track! She throws her gloves off and onto Grace, is she taking the proverbial gloves off to start fighting harder?

Sid Scala speaks.

The Assistant General Manager says next week, he’ll be inviting Meiko Satomura to the ring to present her with a gift, thanking her for all the hard work she has put in, both here in the UK and in her home of Japan. What will the gift be? And will anyone look to crash the celebration of the Final Boss?

NXT UK hears from Moustache Mountain, and their next challengers.

Trent Seven says, “The juice was worth the squeeze.” Tyler Bate says it was a long and winding road, but they finally got the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. They are champions, the number one tag team in the world today! Ashton & Oliver, you guys are very good. Ashton Smith says, “Tag team championships, baby! Now’s the time. It’s Smith & Carter’s time.” Carter adds they’re going to win because they are the hottest tag team under the sun! The freshest flavor of the brand! Moustache Mountain talks like they’re never going to lose those titles, but that talk means they’re scared. If one of them flinches, they both know they’re losing.

It’s in everything Trent Seven is saying. He’s not thinking about winning, just not losing. It happened in their last match against them, one move too far. But Seven says he isn’t afraid of losing, he’s just addicted to winning at all costs! When they hold those titles, it is a fuel more potent than anything they’ve ever had before. They are putting these belts back up on the peak of Moustache Mountain. But Carter vows that they WILL be the NEW NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Smith says Moustache Mountain won before, but they have never faced Smith & Carter when they’re this close to a dream. The titles are that important to them, and they’ll be damned spending another year under anyone else! Just what will it take for one of these teams to walk away with the gold?

Wolfgang VS Jordan Devlin!

No more talking, no more laughing, no more playing around. While Gallus took over Supernova Sessions, and took Devlin’s sunglasses, it was Devlin who raised the ante with a chair shot to the back. Will Devlin wish he’d just folded and let it go? Or will he prove that not even the Last King of Scotland can trump the Irish Ace?

The bell rings and the two circle. Devlin shows off by doing jumping jacks as he goes, but he ends up a bit cornered. Devlin and Wolfgang knuckle lock, but Devlin shoots in and throws a body shot. Devlin slips away but Wolfgang just stretches. The two tie up again, Wolfgang puts Devlin in a corner, but Devlin slips away again. Devlin fixes his hair, Wolfgang wipes down the ropes, and they tie up again. Wolfgang wrenches the arm, grinds Devlin’s shoulder, and clamps on a chinbar. Devlin fights up, Wolfgang RAMS him down with a shoulder! Wolfgang then gets Devlin up, knuckle lock STRAIGHT ARM SUPLEX!

Wolfgang keeps on the arm, digging a knee in the shoulder. Wolfgang wrenches the wrist, Devlin endures and even throws kicks from below. Wolfgang drops a knee on the arm, then stands Devlin up to RAM him down again. Wolfgang drags Devlin up to RAM shoulders again, then wrench through. Devlin ROCKS Wolfgang with a right then headlocks! Wolfgang powers out, and he RAMS Devlin with a shoulder again! Devlin scowls as he gets up, ties up with Wolfgang and gets the headlock. Wolfgang powers out, RAMS Devlin with that shoulder yet again, but Devlin kicks back. Devlin runs, rams Wolfgang, but Wolfgang rebounds to run Devlin over!

Devlin bails out, takes his time to catch his breath, but Wolfgang storms over. Devlin trips Wolfgang and drags him out to RAM him into the apron! Devlin throws hands, the ring count restarts, but Wolfgang ROCKS Devlin! Devlin hurries into the ring but Wolfgang drags him back out! Wolfgang throws EuroUppers and Devlin flops against the barriers. Wolfgang scoops Devlin, and gives him SNAKE EYES off the barriers! Wolfgang puts Devlin in at 6 of 10, but Devlin slips out as Wolfgang gets in. Devlin slingshots but the cutter is blocked! Wolfgang turns Devlin around for a stalling suplex and SLAM! Cover, TWO!

Wolfgang clamps onto Devlin’s arm, pulls on it, but Devlin endures. Wolfgang drags Devlin up, whips him to the corner hard, but Devlin tumbles up and out. Wolfgang rushes over but Devlin dumps him out! Wolfgang tumbles and even hits barriers! Devlin drags himself up, to QUEBRADA, but Wolfgang catches him! Wolfgang aims at the corner, but Devlin slips off to POST Wolfgang instead! Both men are down and the ref checks. Wolfgang is somehow okay, Devlin puts him in at 8 of 10! Devlin stalks Wolfgang now, rains down rights, then drags Wolfgang up to CLUB away on the arm! Devlin grinds the arm, FUJIWARA ARMBAR!

Wolfgang flails and claws around, but Devlin lets off to drop an elbow to the lower back! Wolfgang kicks from the mat but Devlin drops knees on Wolfgang. Devlin looms over Wolfgang, grabs the bad arm, and Devlin WRINGS the arm into the mat! Devlin stands on Wolfgang’s hair as he pulls the arms! The ref counts, Devlin lets off at 4! Devlin drags Wolfgang back up, but Wolfgang throws body shots. Wolfgang swings, but into a clinch. Wolfgang elbows free, Devlin staggers, and Wolfgang manages to trophy lift! Wolfgang drops Devlin, but the bad arm holds him back. Wolfgang sees Devlin in the drop zone, goes up the corner, MOONSAULT but only knees!

Devlin and Wolfgang are both down, Wolfgang’s weight doing as much damage to Devlin’s legs as Devlin’s knees did to Wolfgang’s gut. They both get up, Devlin bobs ‘n’ weaves, ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! Wolfgang kicks, clasps hands, but Devlin stomps away! ARMBAR!! Wolfgang scrambles, ROPEBREAK! Devlin lets off in frustration and Wolfgang bails out. Devlin goes to the apron, PENALTY KICK to the bad arm! Then another PENALTY KICK to the chest! Wolfgang is down but Devlin goes to fetch him. Wolfgang drags himself up at the barriers, but Devlin fish hooks his face! Devlin puts Wolfgang back in at 5 of 10.

Devlin aims, slingshots, CORKSCREW SPLASH! Devlin soaks up the heat from the BT Sports Studio audience, then clamps onto the arm! Devlin SNAPS the hammerlock and Wolfgang writhes. Devlin takes time to catch his breath before he KICKS, and KICKS and KICKS at Wolfgang. Wolfgang gets up and Devlin SLAPS him! Devlin kicks but Wolfgang blocks this one! Devlin throws more slaps but Wolfgang CATAPULTS Devlin out of the ring! Devlin is shocked as well as dazed while floundering on the outside! Devlin gets up and in at 5 of 10, but Wolfgang DECKS him with big forearms! Wolfgang fires body shots, then whips corner to corner.

Devlin rebounds, into a BACK DROP! Wolfgang seethes but Devlin wants a timeout! There’s no timeouts in wrestling! CORNER SPLASH! Wolfgang shoves Devlin out as he goes up, FLYING AX HANDLE! Wolfgang runs, SLIDING SENTON! Cover, TWO! Wolfgang grows frustrated, but he goes to the corner. Devlin goes to the other, Wolfgang runs in, but Devlin jumps! The spear hits buckles! Wolfgang’s bad arm is feeling even worse, and Devlin HEADBUTTS! Both men fall, but Devlin drags himself up on the apron. Devlin slingshots, for the CUTTER! Cover, TWO!! Wolfgang survives but Devlin’s too tired to be frustrated!

Devlin drags himself up in the corner, Wolfgang pushes himself up on one good arm. Devlin throws forearms but Wolfgang glares defiantly. Wolfgang throws body shots, Devlin throws haymakers, repeat. Wolfgang gets up, Devlin bobs ‘n’ weaves, strike fest! Devlin ROCKS Wolfgang, but Wolfgang powers out of the headlock. Wolfgang dodges, runs, and SPEARS!! But the bad arm keeps him from making the cover! Both men are down, stirring, and Wolfgang grits his teeth. Wolfgang crawls back to a corner and drags himself up. Wolfgang goes up top, but Devlin jumps up after him! SPANISH FLY!! Cover, TWO!!!

Devlin doesn’t waste time being shocked, he goes right up top! 450 SPLASH!! Cover, Devlin wins!

Winner: Jordan Devlin, by pinfall

The Irish Ace takes down the Last King of Scotland, and his ego is only growing. Will Devlin prove he is worthy of another chance at gold?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode here, and quite a bit planned on NXT UK’s own road to WrestleMania week. For one, someone is definitely crashing the celebration of Meiko Satomura to challenge her to a title match for what I’m thinking will be NXT UK Prelude 2022. And with Nathan Frazer calling out Ilja Dragunov, we’re definitely getting that title match for Prelude, too. Xia continues to do very well in this spoiled brat role, and she’s going to have a match with Amale to revisit their previous encounter, now that they’ve swapped Face and Heel dynamics. Maybe Xia cheats to win, maybe she throws another fit when she loses, but there has to be something that makes this a big step in both their stories.

The Bomber challenges was a great bit from Mastiff & Starz, and I’m thinking Starz will prove his guts by taking on big, mean guys in the ring. Chances are, it’ll be against Mastiff, and even if Starz loses, he’ll have proven himself worthy. Die Familie had a good vignette promo, but it doesn’t really change much. They’ll probably start winning in tag matches to be next in line for whoever are NXT UK Tag Team Champions. We got a very good promo video from Moustache Mountain and Smith & Carter, but again I say their match could go either way. Moustache Mountain can retain to take on Die Familie, or they lose and Seven has his meltdown over losing what he worked so hard to get.

Gradwell VS Williams was a very good opener, especially with Williams trying to make up a reason he can’t fight Gradwell. Gradwell wins but Williams gets one over on him. Their rematch is going to be something big, and the winner could even move on to a title. Millie VS Hayze and Stevie VS Grace were each good matches, but Millie and Stevie of course win. I’m sure they’re taking a slow burn towards Millie working up the nerve to challenge Meiko, Isla Dawn is probably still next for Meiko. And then we got a great main event out of Wolfgang VS Devlin. I am actually a bit surprised it was a clean finish, but I suppose Dar & Sha don’t need to help Devlin. Devlin gets a great win to stay strong, but I still hope we get a Six Man, Devlin, Dar & Sha VS Gallus.

My Score: 8.4/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

https://x.com/i/status/1816629254349533588

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

https://x.com/i/status/1816633784537874761

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

https://x.com/i/status/1816647373654724937

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
