Kevin Owens heads to the ring!

And he’s ready to host a new episode of the KO Show, while incorrectly wearing a cowboy hat on purpose. He asks us to welcome his tag team partner, who will be by his side when they become Raw Tag Team Champions next week and defend the titles at WrestleMania, and more important the man who is Kevin’s best friend, SETH FREAKIN’ ROLLING! Rollins makes his entrance with an extra bit of swagger, and Kevin tips his hat to him. They go to the ring together now, and Kevin says, “What a night we have in store for everybody. But right now, it’s time for me to welcome you all to the Kevin Owens Show!”

Kevin says he won’t lie, he and Rollins can admit, it’s been a tough time for them. Neither has secured a place on WrestleMania yet, and that’s not okay. Two of the- No, THE TWO BIGGEST stars in WWE history are not on Mania?! That’s a travesty! Rollins says that is no lie, and it is no secret that these two have been screwed in every single possible imaginable way! But the WrestleMania gods have given them one more card to play in the form of the Raw Tag Team Championships! They’ll take those titles into Mania, into Dallas, Texas, and do what they do best: make moments. They’ll make Mania moments!

Kevin loves the sound of that. He assures us that he’s heard what people are saying. His disdain for Texas might distract him. But Rollins ahs Kevin’s word that nothing will keep them from becoming tag team champions next week! And then they will go on and defend the titles at Mania, because they are the absolute BEST! Nothing will distract Kevin from that. Not the people of Texas, not the Texas legends like JBL or HBK, or even this ridiculous, stupid hat! Kevin takes it off to stomp it! And then kick it out of the ring! Rollins says he understands, Kevin doesn’t like Texas. But they’re not in Texas tonight! They’re in Columbus, Ohio!

And what a show tonight! Let’s bring out their guest, the current Raw Tag Team Champions, the Alpha Academy! Chad Gable & Otis head to the ring, Gable wanting the fans to “SHOOSH!” already. Gable & Otis join Rollins & Kevin in the ring, and Kevin welcomes them to take their seats. Otis’ chair is extra sturdy. Easy, easy. There we go! He’s good. Gable says this is the first time on the KO Show, and so he’ll start with “a thank yew!” Why does he say it like that? Anyway, before going forward, they should address that. When he says “thank you,” it sounds weird. “A thank yew~!” Yeah, no, that’s just weird.

Gable takes being different as a compliment. But they’re happy to be here. All Gable’s heard is a couple asses making ass-sumptions about the title match. Whoa, they’re talking about Kevin & Rollins? Yep. Don’t forget, you can talk all you want, but the current, defending champions are Alpha Academy. A thank yew~! Rollins & Kevin seem bothered now. Kevin says they are aware who the champions are, until next week. Then those tiles are coming home with Kevin and Rollins! No hard feelings, they like Alpha Academy, but uh, yeah. Mania needs them, they need it. But problem is, you guys weaseled your way into that match.

As someone with a Master’s Degree, Gable will explain to them and to the moronic fans who went to that poor excuse for a community college, Ohio State University- Wow, lots of Buckeyes here… SHOOOOSH! Gable will give them proper education. Their odds automatically went from 50% to 33.33%, and that is ridiculous. Kevin says he doesn’t like math, but the only thing the Academy needs to know, this isn’t personal. They need the titles to go to Mania. This is business. That’s so sad. They’re so worried about their spot that they’ll do anything! They had their chances, they’ve had their main events!

Gable hasn’t even been on the show! He and Otis busted their asses to earn their spot on the Grandest Stage of Them All, A THANK YEW! Rollins wants everyone to wait. Lightbulb moment for Rollins! After Rollins & Kevin win and take those Raw Tag titles, they can have the rematch at Mania! A win-win, baby! SHOOSH! Kevin doesn’t want Gable shooshing Rollins or shooshing him! Stop! SHOOSH! YOU SHOOSH! It’s a shoosh fight! SHOOOOSH- STUNNER!! Otis is furious now! Will the Dozer get after the Prizefighter for that?

The Alpha Academy VS Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins!

Holla holla! After that Stunner, the Raw Tag Team Champions want to prove why the Prizefighter & Visionary don’t belong in the title match! But will this simply be a sample of the victory Kevin & Rollins will taste next week?

Kevin runs in to DECK Gable, then he says, “SUCK IT!” CANNONBALL for Otis! Gable gets back in but Kevin throws him right back out! Kevin then goes to the apron, CANNONBALL for both champions! Fans fire up with Kevin, “This is MY show!” Kevin resets, and FROG SPLASHES Gable on the floor!

Backstage interview with Omos.

Kevin Patrick says Omos’ time here has been nothing short of a rampage. But tonight, he’s against- Omos shouts “ENOUGH!” Ever since he’s shown up, he’s dominated RKBRO, the Street Profits, the Dirty Dawgs, the New Day, and even AJ Styles. Tonight, Omos comes across the largest man he’s ever faced in the ring in T-Bar. Tonight, Omos dominates T-Bar, too! Will there be any arguing with that?

Omos VS T-Bar!

Raw returns and T-Bar makes his entrance. T-Bar gets on the apron and Omos BLASTS him right off! Omos then goes out to drag T-Bar up off the floor and scoop him! Omos puts T-Bar in the ring, drags him from the ropes, and the ref says this match can’t start with T-Bar in this state. Omos drags T-Bar up to TOSS him into the corner! The ref asks if T-Bar wants to compete, and T-Bar does! That’s rather gutsy, and the bell rings. Omos runs in, T-Bar dodges! Omos hits buckles and now both giants are sputtering. T-Bar gets up, Omos LARIATS him inside-out! Omos drags T-Bar back up, two hands for the MOUNTAINTOP SLAM! Cover, Omos wins!

He did just as he said. He showed up and dominated T-Bar! Will Omos continue to dominate until he is at the very top of the WWE?

Nikki A.S.H. and “Doudrop” Piper Niven speak.

The Almost Super Hero says Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan and especially Rhea Ripley think they’re the heroes of this story. But it is her, Nikki A.S.H, who is the only superhero Raw needs. Piper says that’s fine, because she’s just fine with being a villain. And The Man says it doesn’t matter if you’re hero or villain, the only thing that does matter is winning. She may have had her issues with Doudrop in the past, but they are putting that aside to be winners. Just like Becky was at SummerSlam, in 26 seconds. And just like Becky will be again at WrestleMania, still Raw Women’s Champion.

Nikki wants a fist bump but is left hanging. Will this Celtic connection come crumbling down against the EST, the Living End and the Nightmare?

Six Woman Tag: Becky Lynch, Nikki A.S.H. & Piper Niven VS Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan!

Raw returns as Rhea and Liv meet up backstage. Tonight isn’t going to be easy. They have Nikki, Piper and Becky. What’s the strategy? Brutality. Hmm, Liv likes that. So let’s go, show up, show out, and give Becky a preview when Bianca wins at WrestleMania. Okay? Rhea reluctantly joins the fist bump and then makes her entrance. Then Liv and Bianca make their entrances, and these three head to the ring. The teams sort out, and Liv starts against Becky.

The Nightmare gives Becky short arm LARIAT after LARIAT! Then ripcord and SUPERKICK! Rhea reels Becky in, atomic FACEBUSTER! Becky is in disbelief, but all she has to do is rewatch the footage! Well, she probably won’t want to. But are those marks only the beginning for her and The EST going into WrestleMania?

Robert Roode w/ Dolph Ziggler VS Tommaso Ciampa!

The Dirty Dawgs made their mark on NXT last week when the GLORIOUS One helped the Show-Off cheat to become #1 contender to the NXT Championship. But will the Psycho Killer get just a bit of revenge before he and Bron Breakker take on both Dawgs tomorrow night?

Raw returns and Ciampa makes his entrance. The bell rings and Ciampa rushes Roode! Roode avoids the knee and the haymakers start flying! Ciampa DECKS Roode, but Roode knees low and ROCKS Ciampa. But tomorrow night on NXT, you and the NXT Champion, Bron Breakker, step foot in the ring with the two-time WWE Tag Team Champions! And tomorrow night, we prove why the Dirty Dawgs are the dirtiest dawgs in the game, Jack!” Ziggler & Roode stand tall 2v1, but what happens when things are even?

Mixed Tag Match: Dana Brooke & Reggie VS Tamina & Akira Tozawa!

While the Flex Appeal and slick sommelier have patched up their friendship and how the WWE 24/7 Championship fits into it, they still have those who would take it away from them! The title, not the friendship. Will Dana & Reggie stick together against the Daughter of Superfly and the Stamina Monster? Or will that title get between them again?

The teams sort out, and it’s ladies first as Dana starts against Tamina. They circle, tie up, and Tamina throws a knee. Tamina whips, Dana tilt-o-whirls through and headscissors Tamina into buckles! Fans fire up for Dana as she handsprings and back elbows! Dana runs in again but into a back elbow! Tamina fire sup, Tozawa cheers her own, and Tamina TOSSES Dana to the other corner. And to celebrate, Dana gives Reggie a BIG kiss! Has Reggie somehow, someway found his way out of the Friendzone? But Tamina drags Tozawa up to his feet. Tozawa puckers up, Tamina grabs him by his face, and KISSES Tozawa! This is all a little late for Valentine’s Day, but is love still in the air?

The Street Profits are pumped up!

But Kevin Patrick asks them about facing the former tag team champions, RKBRO, this close to the Triple Threat Tag for the titles. What would a victory here mean? C’mon, Kev, Montez thought they were closer than that. Montez and Dawkins are former tag team champions, too, and if and when they take out R K BRO! What? R K BRO! What? These two might be next in line. Don’t get them wrong, Riddle’s their homie, but ain’t no love lost over the titles. RKBRO are a roadblock from the Profits saving Raw from the real-life version of Accepted. Like, really, what’s really happening with the enrollment money? Is it going to the scholarships? No one knows what’s going half of the time!

And then Rollins is out here doing his Dr. Eggman impression. It doesn’t matter who wins, those titles have to be defended at WrestleMania. And Dawkins knows two humble, charismatic, and courageous young brothers who are available. So RKBRO better be ready~, ready~, cuz the Profits are up and #WeWantTheSmoke! Will Ford & Dawkins make the Road to WrestleMania that much more complicated for the Raw Tag Division?

WWE celebrates Black History Month and honors Titus O’Neil.

Titus O’Neil founded the Bullard Family Foundation, which hosts programs every year to help children, such as the Back to School Bash. In 2021, they donated 30 THOUSAND backpacks full of school supplies to help under resourced students. Titus’ work also led him to support a Tampa Bay school, and it was renamed the Thaddeus M Bullard Academy at Sligh Middle Magnet School. Then the foundation helped the school build gardens. Titus is also in the Boys & Girls Club of America Hall of Fame.

The Mysterios VS The Hurt Business!

Rey & Dominik know The Miz and Logan Paul are coming for them, but the Mysterios are going to show what Logan’s getting himself into. Will the King of Lucha Libre and his son send a message to the A-Listers through Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin?

Raw returns and the Mysterios have mics. Rey says last week, Miz came out here with Logan Paul and challenged himself and Dom to a match at WrestleMania. They accepted, it’s happening, but Miz still had to get his the only way he knows how. Miz and Logan dropped the Mysterios, humiliated them, but make no mistake. At WrestleMania, Miz’s BS is DONE! Dom says tonight, they’re not worried about “some Hollywood mega dumbass and his fanboy.” This is about their match with The Hurt Business. But wait, here comes Miz! “Hollywood mega dumbass? You think I’m a Hollywood mega dumbass?” Fans seem to think so.

And they think Logan Paul is a fanboy? “YES!” Well Miz will rundown his proudest moments in the WWE. First, he is the host of The Most Must-See WWE Talk Show, Miz TV! He married the most gorgeous, sexy, beautiful woman in all the WWE, Maryse! And together, they made the WWE Intercontinental Championship the most prestigious title ever! Miz beat JOHN CENA in the main event of WrestleMania! Miz is the ONLY two-time Grand Slam Champion in the history of WWE! And one of the proudest moments was when last week, he and Logan Paul, two A-Listers, joined forces on the road to dominating the tag division!

Logan Paul is a man! He’s more man than every single one in the arena! “Logan Paul went the distance with pound for pound, the greatest fighter in the world!” Logan is a social and NFT pioneer! The next best thing in the WWE! And with Miz, Logan will become the greatest star in WWE, second to only Miz himself. The only one who loved beating the Mysterios down more than Miz was Logan Paul! They’ve watched it over and over again and again! And it sounded like some cheers last week! The fans cheered! Miz is finally getting the respect he deserves. To think the answer was Logan Paul!

Because let’s be honest- Fans chant, “You Suck!” So he puts his hand up. “When my hand goes up, your mouth goes shut!” Fans want to talk about the Mysterios. DO they want to watch them in the ring? Of course! do they want the Mysterios to be tag team champions? Of course you DON’T! You’re sick of watching the same old standard CRAP! Father-son tag team champions, the Mysterios equal same old crap. Logan and Miz are bigger, better and newer! They are global stars, and they are AWWWWESOME! The Mysterios dare Miz to get in the ring, but instead, The Hurt Business finally make their entrance. This match finally happens, after the break.

Raw returns and Benjamin whips Rey. Rey slides under, goes for a leg, but Benjamin blocks that to fire off forearms. Benjamin whips, Rey tilt-o-whirls to headscissor Benjamin! Rey crawls, hot tag to Dom! Benjamin tags in, to get a CROSSBODY!

Dom keeps going, he ducks and dodges to RANA Benjamin! Dom then runs in at the corner, but is put on the apron. Dom HOTSHOTS Benjamin, then shows how Latino Heat is down! Slingshot senton flops as Benjamin moves, but Dom still hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Dom whips Benjamin, Benjamin reverses to POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Dom goes to a corner, Benjamin runs in but Dom dodges the knee! Dom then runs to TORNADO DDT! Cover, Alexander breaks it! Rey gets in but Alexander ROCKS him! Alexander runs in but is tossed right out! Rey slingshots but Alexander catches him, only to get SPIKED!

Dom wheelbarrows and body scissors Benjamin to ropes! Dial it up, but Benjamin dodges! So Dom DIVES! But into Benjamin’s hands! Benjamin scoops, but Dom slips off to POST Benjamin first! Dom puts Benjamin in, but Miz returns! Miz grabs at Dom, Dom kicks him away! Rey runs Miz off, and all the way to the back! But Benjamin rolls Dom up, Hurt Business wins!

Winners: The Hurt Business, by pinfall

Dom is shocked, but he should’ve known Miz would pull something like that! Is this a sign of things to come at WrestleMania against Miz and Logan Paul?

RKBRO meets up backstage.

“Oh, hey, Randy.” Orton surely wants to know what Riddle’s up to, so he’ll let him in. He’s coloring in his coloring book, trying to stay in the lines to help him focus. He’s been feeling foggy. Like last week, Riddle’s mouth was dry, he had the giggles. It was either the curb stomp, or putting the high in Ohio. What does Randy think? Well, based on what Riddle just said, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. So Riddle is fine. Oh, Randy, you always know how to make Riddle smile. Btu does Orton have any sweet sage like advice for him? Let’s see… No, because they’re good. Riddle knows, Orton knows, they’re going to kick some ass!

And then next week, they win back the Raw Tag Team Championships if it’s the last thing they do! And they’ll do it with the three most devastating letters in sports entertainment! Does Orton wanna say it? Nah, Riddle can do it. R K BRO!! The Viper and the Stallion are on the same page, but will they be able to write their own story from here to WrestleMania?

Carmella and Queen Zelina Vega meet backstage.

They each compliment the other for looking gorgeous, and Vega says she loved Corey & Carmella. “All you guys do is talk about sex.” Mella admits, they do. But also, in response to that challenge from Naomi & Sasha Banks on SmackDown, they accept, of course. After they win at Mania, Mella will bring her fiancé out to put on a show. If you think all they do is talk about it, just wait until you see how they celebrate. Will the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions still have the gold? Or will they #FeelTheGlow when it’s #BossTime at WrestleMania?

RKBRO VS The Street Profits!

Raw returns and the Profits make their entrance. The teams sort out and Riddle starts against Dawkins. They circle as fans rally up, and the two tie up. Riddle waistlocks but Dawkins switches. Dawkins SLAMS Riddle down, holds on and brings Riddle back up, to headlock. Riddle powers out, Dawkins hurdles and then FLYING BACK ELBOWS! Dawkins gets Riddle up again, tag to Ford. The Profits whip then dropkick Riddle down, and then back suplex SPLASH into a TRIANGLE HOLD! Riddle turns things around, but Ford fights up to a cover, TWO! Ford is free, but Riddle gut wrenches him for a suplex!

Tag to Orton and fans fire up! Orton stomps Ford’s fingers, then his foot! Then the other foot, then the other arm! Orton stomps away on Ford’s chest as fans cheer him on! Tag back to Riddle, and they coordinate for the ASSISTED FLOATING BRO onto knees! Ford returns the favor and tags in Dawkins! Dawkins hits an EXPLODER! Cover, TWO! Dawkins drags Riddle up, bumps him off buckles, then fires off fast hands! The ref counts, Dawkins stomps before he backs off. Dawkins stands Riddle up but Riddle throws all those fists back! Tag to Ford as Riddle powers out! Riddle clotheslines Dawkins out, slingshots out and SPRINGBOARD BROS!

But Ford is legal and he DECKS Orton! Ford then sees Riddle, he goes up and out to CANNONBALL! Direct hit and fans fire up as Raw goes to break!

Raw returns again and Riddle fights with body shots. He gets free but Dawkins still keeps him from Orton! Riddle and Orton are fingertips away, Dawkins reels Riddle in for a LARIAT! Dawkins gets Riddle back up, Riddle KNEES Dawkins down! Fans fire up while both men are on the mat! Riddle and Dawkins crawl, hot tags to Orton and Ford! The Viper rallies as fans fire up! POWERSLAM! Ford flounders and Orton gets him through ropes, for the DRAPING DDT! Dawkins slides in but Riddle goes in. Dawkins dodges the knee, ROCKS Riddle, but Riddle RANAS himself and Dawkins out! And Orton hears voices in his head!

Ford slowly gets up, but he denies the RKO to ENZIGURI first! Ford hurries to a corner and goes up top! FROM THE HEAVENS!! Ford crawls his way over but Orton crawls towards ropes. Cover, Orton reaches out but Dawkins swats the foot away! The Profits win!

Winners: The Street Profits, by pinfall

Dawkins denied Orton his escape and now RKBRO is on their back heel! Will they be able to take those titles in the Triple Threat like this? Or are Kevin Owens and Seth Freakin’ Rollins going to be undeniable? Speaking of…

Backstage interview with Seth Rollins & Kevin Owens.

Kevin Owens shouts down Kevin Patrick, they don’t want to hear the questions. Rollins says they have all the momentum! And they’ll ride that momentum and take the Raw Tag Team Champions for their own! And then they go to WrestleMania, where the possibilities are limitless! The world is their oyster! They could challenge The Usos, for another Title VS Title, Winners Take All! They can do whatever they want! And the best part, after doing all that, they can leave that hellhole of Dallas, Texas. Here’s a preview. KO walks away and Rollins hopes K-Peezy got that. Rollins also leaves, but will he and Kevin Owens really walk into Dallas as the champions?

Vince McMahon talks with Austin Theory in his office.

Vince is sure Austin is curious about Vince being a guest on The Pat McAfee Show. This Thursday is a huge episode! McAfee is pretty unbelievable. A former NFL football player, created his own foundation, and has one of the most lucrative deals in podcast history. Vince agrees, that is impressive. Theory says it’s been about 20 years since Vince has done a sit-down interview. Last time, he slapped the papers out of the interviewer’s hand and scared him to death. But what if that interviewer got up and hit back? All Theory is saying, maybe McAfee says something that gets under Vince’s skin and pisses him off. And then what if McAfee tries to fight him?

Theory could be there if he wants. He’d go with Vince? Yeah, he’s got Vince’s back. Well it won’t be that kind of show. Vince excuses himself, and Theory picks up the pencil. “It could be.” Is Theory going to make sure he expects the unexpected?

WWE United States Championship: Damian Priest VS Finn Balor!

The Archer of Infamy and The Prince met back in NXT, and when it was In Your House, it was Finn who took the win. But now, with a belt around his waist, will Priest get that loss back? Or is Finn going to make the US title rrrreeeeeal?

Raw returns and after a long SmackDown recap, Priest makes his entrance. This battle for the belt begins, after the break.

Raw returns again, the introductions are made, the belt is raised, and finally we get to see if Priest can beat the Prince!

Priest and Finn circle. They tie up, Priest powers Finn back and pushes him to a corner. Finn brushes that off as he circles with Priest again. They tie up, Priest scoops but Finn slips off. Finn headlocks, Priest fights up and picks Finn up to put him on the ropes. The ref counts, Priest powers out and runs Finn over! Finn gets up to CHOP! Priest knees low, whips, and back elbows Finn down! Finn gets to a corner but Priest is on him. Priest HEADBUTTS Finn, then whips him corner to corner. Finn slips around and goes for the arm! Priest drops to a knee as Finn leans on the shoulder, and then he powers right up!

Priest puts Finn in a corner and fires off fast hands! Priest ROCKS Finn with an uppercut, and then watches him go to another corner. Priest runs in to jump and back elbow! But Finn wants a leg! Priest CLUBS Finn down, then clamps on a chinlock. Priest digs a knee into Finn’s back as he pulls him back. Fans rally up and Finn fights up, only for Priest to throw him down. Cover, ONE, but Priest chinlocks. Finn endures, fights up, and he works on the hold. Priest knees low then reels him in, but Finn back drops him! Priest sunset flips but Finn rolls through to basement dropkick! Finn KICKS Priest to ropes and stomps away!

The ref counts, Finn lets off at 4, and then sees Priest bail out. Finn builds speed and FLIES! Direct hit at the ramp and fans fire up as Raw goes to break!

Raw returns yet again and Finn JAWBREAKERS free, only to run into a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Priest grows annoyed but he keeps his focus on Finn. Priest wants Finn to get up, and Finn stands, to get KICK after KICK from Priest! But Finn CHOPS back, KICKS back, only for Priest to BELL CLAP and ROLLING HAYMAKER! Finn PELES Priest and they’re both down! Priest leans against ropes but Finn gets to his feet. Finn is in a corner, Priest runs in, but Finn BOOTS him away! Finn ROCKS Priest with forearms, whips, but Priest reverses. Finn hits a forearm, but Priest stays up! Finn blocks the kick to trip and DOUBLE STOMP!

Fans fire up as Priest gets to a corner. Finn storms over to CHOP, throws body shots and RAM his shoulder in! The ref counts, Priest powers through to gut wrench Finn to a Canadian rack! But Finn slips off to SLINGBLADE! Finn takes aim, SHOTGUN dropkick! Priest bounces off buckles and Finn goes up top! Fans fire up for the COUP- NO! Priest dodges and LARIATS Finn down! Priest hauls Finn up, choke grip, but Finn victory rolls! TWO!! JUMPING ROUNDHOUSE! SPINNING ROUNDHOUSE!! Choke grip, SOUTH OF HEAVEN CHOKE SLAM!! Cover, TWO!?!? Finn survives and Priest is beside himself!

Priest refocuses while fans rally up. Finn sputters and checks his chin, but Priest brings him up. Priest slashes the throat, scoops Finn to put into the dragon sleeper, but Finn fights through to ELBOW DROP DDT! Fans fire up as the SHOTGUN dropkick hits again! Priest is back down, Finn goes back up! COUP DE GRACE hits!! Cover, Finn wins!!

Winner: Finn Balor, by pinfall (NEW WWE United States Champion)

NXT Championship, Universal Championship, Intercontinental Champion and now United States Champion! The Prince is back on the throne! Priest gets up and gets a mic to say, “Let’s face it, Finn. These people carried you to winning my United States Championship.” All that motivation, all that respect. Priest never heard that. His entire reign, no one gave him that, even though he busted his ass! He was successful in spite of the fans! So basically, Priest will win that title back. And all that love and admiration won’t mean a damn thing! Finn gets in Priest’s face, but Priest backs down, to sucker LARIAT Finn!

Priest drags Finn up and throws him out while fans chant, “You Suck!” Priest goes out, drags Finn up and reels him in. Priest gets Finn up in the Canadian rack to CRUCIFIX BOMB him onto the announce desk! “I am the bad guy, yeah!” Priest leaves Finn down and out, and even mocks the Too Sweet! But will Damian find Finn has his own dark side to watch out for?

Edge heads to the ring!

The Rated R Superstar put out the call, but who will answer him? We see how Edge’s WrestleMania plans turn out, after the break.

Raw returns and Edge has the mic. “Okay, here it is. What I’ve been waiting for, the moment for someone to step up, take their place in history, and accept my challenge for a match at WrestleMania.” His road gets a lot clearer tonight. Do the fans wanna see it? “YES!” C’MON COLUMBUS! Do you wanna see it?! “YES!!” Then someone, anyone, Edge is begging you! Step up! Edge waits, fans chant names of all kinds, but still nothing. Seriously? What has happened to this place? But wait! Here comes AJ STYLES! Columbus is fired up as the Phenomenal One makes his way out and goes to the ring to join Edge.

Styles gets a mic, and he says, “I accept.” Good. Edge is happy because he’s wanted this match for a long time, Styles has wanted this match for a long time, and clearly the fans have wanted this for a long time! But tell you what. Edge wants that bulldog. Not the guy who was playing tag team bitch to Omos! Oh, is that how this is going to be? Edge offers a handshake all the same, and Styles goes to take it, only for Edge to sucker punch him! Edge fires off, bringing out the Ultimate Opportunist! But then Styles hits back! ENZIGURI! That Georgia bulldog is off the leash! Styles throws off his vest, goes to the apron, takes aim, but Edge ducks the springboard! LOW BLOW!

Styles writhes and fans are torn! This is definitely that Edge, as he rains down forearms over on Styles! Columbus cheers and jeers as Edge stands over Styles, and then seems to snap out of his fugue state. Edge goes to leave, but then he thinks. Edge then storms over and takes chairs from the timekeeper’s area! Styles is still down as Edge creeps into the ring with the chairs. Edge puts Styles’ head on one, then looks over at the other. Edge takes a deep breath, but he still picks up the chair. But then he drops the chair, paces a bit, and the fans are just as conflicted as he is. But Edge gets the chair! CON-CHAIR-TO!!

Edge seethes and grits his teeth as fans lose their minds seeing that. Edge is somewhere between smiling and sobbing, but he hits another CON-CHAIR-TO!! Didn’t Edge want a WrestleMania moment? How is he going to do that if he just took out the Phenomenal One?!

My Thoughts:

All in all, a good Raw but with the usual weak points of WWE. Omos VS T-Bar was short, Dijak deserves much better than that. But at the same time, Omos is getting a push, yet I still question how far he can go when he hasn’t even taken a bump. Omos knows his character and executes it well, but he won’t be able to maintain this. Then Ciampa VS Roode was a match that was really more an advertisement for NXT tomorrow night. Ciampa wins here but gets beat down so that the math is a wash. I would still think Ciampa & Bron win but with Roode taking the loss so Ziggler is still strong going into the NXT title match.

We actually got a pretty good Six Woman Tag. Everyone got to look good, and the Faces win so Bianca can have momentum. At some point, Becky’s gonna get Bianca to try and even things out, because I feel like WrestleMania could go either way. Meanwhile, I actually hope we get new tag teams out of this. Piper and Nikki, Rhea and Liv, because damn does the RawDown Women’s Tag Division need more teams. Mella & Vega accepted the challenge from Sasha & Naomi with a simple backstage promo, and then Mella basically teased her and Corey Graves being the sequel to Edge and Lita having the Rated R sex celebration… That’s just another reason why Naomi & Sasha should win.

Miz of course played a part in the Mysterios’ loss to the Hurt Business, but I did notice the slightest teases for Cody Rhodes in his promo. Though, every time the words “if you will” are used, I can’t help but think of Dusty Rhodes. But the Mysterios are going to be the underdogs going into their match with Miz and Logan Paul because they are going to win. Vince and Theory plugging the Pat McAfee Show as a promo was alright, but it was a good way to weave it into kayfabe. Rumors have been swirling that there’s a McMahon VS McAfee story, I bet the match is McAfee VS Theory. McAfee did great in NXT, he and Theory can have a pretty good one, and chances are, Theory wins.

Kevin and Rollins had a great promo segment and match with The Alpha Academy, and then we got a really good match out of RKBRO and the Profits. I think Ford landed pretty hard on Orton’s head and shoulders in his splash, Orton seemed legit rocked. Dawkins swatting that ropebreak away was a bit of a surprise. Are the Profits going to turn if they don’t get the titles? Rollins & Kevin had another good promo with Kevin Patrick, and it almost feels like a given that they’re going to win the tag titles. The Raw tag titles might have the most interesting championship story going into WrestleMania at this point.

The Mixed Tag was alright as far as a match. The Faces win, of course, and as expected, the romance angle is deepening. Tamina giving in and kissing Tozawa was quite the surprise, though. Still hoping for something bigger for the 24/7 Championship at WrestleMania. And while we’re not getting a huge US title match, Priest VS Balor was great stuff tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Balor win. He’s held all but THE WWE Championship, which might not even exist after WrestleMania. Priest turning was a bit of a disappointing move, but I suppose it was the only thing to keep him going. I have a feeling Priest faces Demon Balor at Mania for the rematch.

And then while Edge teased all sorts in last week’s promo, it was all too obvious AJ Styles would be the one to answer. Though then it was quite the surprise for Edge to basically go Heel on him and beat the hell out of Styles. TWO Con-Chair-tos was even more shocking. Was Styles answering a swerve so we don’t expect someone else? With Cody Rhodes still unaccounted for anywhere, we can’t write him off, but chances are, Styles manages to recover and he brings that “bulldog” Edge wants.

My Score: 8.3/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

https://x.com/i/status/1816629254349533588

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

https://x.com/i/status/1816633784537874761

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

https://x.com/i/status/1816647373654724937

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
