Amale VS Xia Brookside!

The French Hope was skeptical of the respect the spoiled second generation superstar showed her, but she still accepted this tiebreaker rematch. Will Amale take the win and head up the ranks? Or will Xia have quite the surprise in store for us all?

The bell rings and fans jeer, “Xia Sucks!” Xia and Amale tie up, Xia knees low and the fists start flying already! Xia kicks Amale to a corner, whips her to ropes, but Amale hurdles and runs Xia over! Things speed up, Amale ducks and whips but catches Xia’s crossbody for a SLAM! Amale then runs to rolling senton and basement dropkick! Xia scrambles to ropes while Amale fires up. Fans rally behind Amale as she CLUBS Xia down! Amale then stands Xia up to KNEE her low and hard! Amale gets Xia back up, BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and Amale keeps Xia. Amale scoops but Xia slips off and gets to a corner.

Amale runs in but into a DOUBLE STOMP! Xia is frustrated and she kicks and stomps Amale! Fans still jeer while Xia grits her teeth and stomps Amale more. Xia stands on Amale at the ropes and double stomps her, then stomps all over Amale’s back. The ref reprimands and Xia tells her to leave her alone. Xia stomps Amale to a corner, RAMS into her, then drags her up to bump off buckles. Xia RAMS into Amale again, then runs in for BLINDSIDE METEORA! Cover, TWO! Fans rally but Xia brings Amale up to snapmare and PENALTY KICK! Cover, ONE! Xia is furious about that, and she hip drops Amale down.

Xia pulls Amale’s arms back into a CAMEL CLUTCH! Amale endures, gets an arm free, but Xia CLUBS her down! Xia locks the arm back up but Amale continues to endure. Fans rally, Amale powers up to get her arms free and carry Xia as a backpack! BACKPACK SENTON! Fans fire up while Amale gets back to her feet. Amale counter punches Xia, then again! Amale ducks the kick to CLOBBER Xia! Amale starts to rally, kicks low and runs, KNEE LIFT! Fans stay fired up with Amale as she NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Xia escapes but fans still rally behind the French Hope! Amale reels Xia in and hooks the leg, but Xia sunset flips!

Xia gets the legs, turns Amale, but Amale powers out! Xia tumbles to ropes, and she gets to a corner. Anale runs in, blocks the boot, and KNEES Xia back! Amale goes side to side, but Xia dodges! Amale is furious and she follows Xia out, to BOOT her against the barriers! Fans fire up as Amale puts Xia back in, but wait! Someone attacks from the crowd! This mystery woman got a cheap shot in, then she CLOBBERS Amale with a clothesline! Fans boo but there’s nothing that can be done! Xia puts Amale in the ring, she grabs the arms, BROKEN WINGS! Cover, Xia wins!

Winner: Xia Brookside, by pinfall

Xia holds up the L with her finger and her thumb, but clearly her daddy got her an insurance policy. Just who was that helping Xia? She gets in the ring with Xia to celebrate! What will Xia and her new little friend do here in NXT UK in order to make Xia a champion?

Isla Dawn speaks.

Or rather, she sings “Meiko~” as she sets candles down by the stolen NXT UK Women’s Championship belt. “I have something that belongs to you. Oh, y’see, I’ve been listening. And it appears the bond between the two of you is quite unbreakable. But I have a plan. Meiko, there’s something I want from you. There’s something I need. And if you ever want to see your championship again, I think you’ll do exactly what I ask. Or else.” Isla blows out the candles, is she going to extinguish Meiko’s light one way or another?

NXT UK superstars discuss Dragunov VS Strong.

Amale says Strong is “going to have a taste of what we are worth here. And what better man to show that to him than the champion himself, Ilja Dragunov.” Nathan Frazer knows Dragunov “is a different animal.” After his match with the champ, Frazer’s a fan. And as a fan, Frazer knows this match is going to be unreal, hard-hitting, and brutal. Emilia McKenzie knows Strong VS Ilja is “going to be absolutely incredible.” It’ll do wonders for the NXT UK brand. A-Kid says if there is one man who can match Dragunov’s intensity, it is Strong. But he is hyped. Who wouldn’t be? The amount A-Kid has for both men is huge, and would love to get another match for that title against either one.

Tyler Bate says this could be the most ferocious match NXT UK has seen. Seven says if he was a fan, he’d buy a ticket. He might still. But Jordan Devlin doesn’t care one way or another. It doesn’t matter if it’s Dragunov or Strong, the Irish Ace is going to be breathing down that man’s neck. Czar of NXT UK VS Savior of the Backbreaker happens next week!

Ashton Smith w/ Oliver Carter VS Trent Seven w/ Tyler Bate!

The Hottest Tag Team Under the Sun is halfway to earning another NXT UK Tag Team Championship match after the shocker Carter pulled off over the Big Strong Boy. But will the Prestige be able to pull his weight? Or will the Artful Dodger really do anything he has to in order to keep these titles?

The bell rings and the two circle. Fans rally and duel, Seven and Smith tie up, are in a deadlock, but then break. They go again, Smith uses height for leverage but fans sing for “Oh~ Trent Seven Army!” Seven starts to push Smith back, but Smith powers through to put Seven on the ropes. The ref counts and Smith lets off clean. Seven pushes Smith so they tie up again. Seven headlocks, Smith powers out, but Seven rams him. Smith rebounds to run Seven over! But Seven grabs Smith’s foot to keep him from running again. Smith throws down hands to get free, then runs, but Seven drops and sets up.

Smith whips the back drop away, Seven CROSSBODIES! Seven gets up but Smith blocks the hip toss to scoop and pop Seven up! Seven slips out to shove, big hip toss! And a scoop SLAM! Seven drops the leg, brother! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and duel as Smith gets up and staggers around. Seven follows Smith to a corner, and CHOPS him! Smith goes to another corner, kicks Seven back and EuroUppers! Seven CHOPS again! Smith staggers across the way, Seven runs corner to corner, but blocks the boot to CHOP! Seven suplexes high and hard! Cover, TWO! Seven clamps onto the arm and grinds Smith down.

Smith endures and fans continue to duel. Seven CLUBS the arm, CHOPS Smith again, then Seven CLUBS and CHOPS again! Seven CHOPS Smith off his feet, covers, TWO! Another cover, TWO! Seven hurries to go for arms but Smith fights off the cobra clutch! Smith fights up, fans rally and Smith throws elbows and forearms! Seven whips but Smith reveres, to POWERSLAM! Fans fire up with Smith’s showing of strength, and he scoops to SNAKE EYES! Smith runs and CLOBBERS Seven! Cover, TWO! Carter coaches Smith to keep him focused, and fans are dueling hard as ever!

Smith drags Seven up, CLUBS him down, then stalks him. Smith stands Seven up, whips, back drops, then omoplatas to TWEAK the arm! Cover, TWO! Seven sputters but Smith drags him back up. Smith whips Seven to a corner hard, and Seven falls from hitting buckles. Smith stands Seven back up, EuroUppers, and Seven leans against Smith to stay up. Smith whips Seven into the other corner, but Seven CHOPS back! So Smith BOOTS Seven down! Smith puts Seven up top, fires forearms and climbs up. Seven hits back, the body shots send Smith back down, and Seven leaps! But Smith catches him!?

Smith pops Seven up for the suplex! Cover, TWO! Bate gets a bit anxious while Seven is down. Smith goes up the corner, Seven hurries up to CHOP him first! Smith hits back, Seven CHOPS again! And again! Seven climbs up after Smith now, CLUBS him, and fans fire up as they brawl up top! Seven goes to the very top! He brings Smith up with him, SUPERPLEX! Cover, TWO!! Smith is still in this and fans are loving “NXT! NXT!” Bate coaches Seven, Carter coaches Smith, and both men slowly sit up. Smith is dazed but he gets to ropes with Seven. They both stand, and Seven storms over to kick low! Smith kicks back!

Seven forearms, but Smith forearms back! Seven hits again, but so does Smith! Seven shoves, then dodges the boot! Seven stays in ropes and the ref gets Smith back, but Seven then slips around to ref to sucker punch Smith! There’s that rule bending! Seven fires off on Smith in the corner, then SNAP DRAGON SUPLEXES! Seven hauls Smith up, EMERALD FLOSION! Cover, TWO!! Smith survives again! Fans are all fired up but Seven clamps back onto Smith. Ripcord and- NO! Smith BOOTS Seven first, then gets around to ripcord Seven out! Smith rams his shoulder, then steals SEVEN STAR LARIAT!! Cover, TWO!!

Fans are thunderous as Seven survives Smith’s take on his move! Smith drags Seven up, reels him in, but Seven back drops! Smith sunset flips but Seven stays up while reach for ropes! Seven drops, and holds ropes! But Tyler is looking right at him, so Seven lets off! Smith finishes the sunset flip, TWO!! Seven survives, hurries to high stack, but he has tights!! Seven wins!!

Winner: Trent Seven, by pinfall

Tyler isn’t sure what to think here. Seven still snuck one, but it only makes them and their challengers 1-1. Are Moustache Mountain really be able to say Smith & Carter don’t deserve another shot? What will management decide?

NXT UK Media catches up with A-Kid.

How is he feeling ahead of his match with Teoman? He feels great. It’s been a few crazy weeks, but he’s very excited for what’s next. AK says he’s back and NXT UK will always be his home. He can’t let people like Teoman get away with things, like what he did to AK, to Saxon Huxley, what he’s done to Charley Dempsey. So the Spanish Sensation is ready to step up to the so-called head of Die Familie. “Teoman, no pasadas.” Will A-Kid make The Babo pay for crossing the line?

Wild Boar speaks.

“Eddie Dennis. If you think I can’t handle anything you can throw at me, you really aren’t as smart as you think you are. Master puppeteer. You keep throwing your puppets at me and I’ll keep cutting their strings one by one. ’til I get my hands on you, you will see me. When you go to bed, you’ll see me. When you wake up in a cold sweat, you’ll! See! BOAR! BOAR! BOAR!” This wild animal is coming and he’s hungry for his pound of flesh! Will Dennis have no choice but to face what he’s done?

NXT UK Media interviews Smith & Carter backstage.

Carter is of course upset by how Seven won. The reporter brings it up and Carter says we all saw what it was. We all saw it! Smith felt it, everyone knows! Bate & Seven walk in now and Smith confronts Seven about it. What was that? Uh, it was a win, that’s what. No, that was a hand full of tights! Smith asks Tyler what he thinks, but Seven says that’s just veteran work. If you wanna get the job done, you gotta get it done. They’re all arguing now but Sid Scala barges in to shout down the bickering. This issue has not been resolved, so they’ll all discuss this issue in Sid’s office next week. For now, move on.

Seven says he’s looking forward to it. Then he and Bate talk about this. Seven could’ve held ropes, but he didn’t. But the tights! Seven says he cannot afford to lose the titles, Bate knows that. A win is a win. Seven gets Bate to move on, but will this fail to convince Sid?

Kenny Williams VS Tate Mayfairs!

The Scum of the Earth has for once been on the other end of mind games and mean pranks, and he’s not happy about it. Will he send a message to whoever it is through this debuting superstar? Or will the (self-described) “Greatest Professional Wrestler to Ever Walk Planet Earth” be off to a strong start in NXT UK?

The bell rings and even that spooks Kenny. Kenny and Tate approach, and then Kenny ROCKS Tate with a forearm! Kenny stomps away on Tate, the ref counts, but Kenny lets off at 4. Kenny “apologizes” then snapmares Tate to scrape his face with soles! Kenny stands Tate up, Tate throws a body shot but Kenny CLUBS him back. Kenny shoves, headbutts low, then stomps Tate down. Fans taunt Kenny Cockroach but he whips. Tate sunset flips, TWO! Kenny swings but misses, Tate fires off jabs and haymakers! Tate bobs ‘n’ waves, has his own cocky swagger, and he whips. Kenny reverses but Tate goes up and over!

Tate runs back in but into a CHOP BLOCK! Kenny gets the leg, stomps away on it, then YANKS the leg! Tate clutches the knee but Kenny CLAWS his back. Kenny pushes Tate down for a smothering cover, TWO! Kenny argues the count then he jabs Tate in the top of his head over and over! Then a BIG crossface forearm! Cover, TWO! Tate is still in this and that just upsets Kenny more. Kenny hip drops hard on Tate! Fans boo but Kenny soaks up the heat to then get Tate’s arms. Kenny digs his head into Tate’s spine to push on the motorcycle stretch, then Kenny sits on Tate for even more pressure!

Tate endures, he fights his way up, and fans rally up behind him! Tate rolls and kangaroo kicks Kenny away! Kenny swings but Tate blocks to CHOP back! And again to ROCK Kenny with a right! Tate kicks but Kenny blocks and twists the leg! Tate fights to step up and CLBOBER Kenny! High stack, TWO! Kenny survives but Tate gets him up! Tate tries to turn Kenny but Kenny resists so Tate CLUBS him! Tate ROCKS Kenny and Kenny flops to the apron. Tate goes out after, but Kenny gets the leg! DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Kenny kicks Tate out of the ring then goes out. Kenny drags Tate up, scoops and SLAMS him on the floor!

Kenny leaves Tate behind as the ring count climbs past 5 of 10. Fans chant, “You Suck!” but Kenny decides to go out at 8! Kenny fetches Tate back in, says this was the biggest mistake of his life! BAD LUCK DRIVER! Cover, but Kenny lets off?! Kenny just wants to make Tate suffer. Fans fire up for Tate but Kenny throws him out! Kenny makes the scissor motion, but Tate ends up under the ring? Kenny sees that and laughs. Kenny storms over, grabs a leg, but he can’t drag Tate out? Is Tate holding onto something? Kenny lifts the apron skirt, and SAM GRADWELL is there! Kenny freaks out and fans fire up!

Gradwell keeps Kenny back and he puts Tate in! The ring count is still climbing, and Kenny is too scared to get close to Gradwell! The count is 10, Tate wins!!

Winner: Tate Mayfairs, by count-out

And now Gradwell chases Kenny to the back! Tate gets his first win on his first day, and fans are loving it! Count-out or not, will this help Tate prove he is the greatest? And as for Kenny, will he have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide from the Thunderstorm?

NXT UK Media interviews Wolfgang.

They apologize for interrupting as he leaves the Gallus locker room, but how are preparations going for Mark Coffey for tonight? Oh, Mark’s ready to take that cup from Dar. The Heritage Cup is coming home to Gallus! But then Die Familie walks over and Teoman says, “Heritage? Charlie, listen to him. He’s talking about heritage.” Dempsey asks Wolfgang. Why is it that Gallus always gets to represent British heritage around here? Wolfgang says not to get it twisted. Heritage or not, he’s ready for a fight, and he doesn’t need a reason. Dempsey says he’s the same. Wolfgang says those guys act like they own the shop. Gallus Boys on top! But will Wolfie have to prove it to Dempsey personally?

Andy Shepherd sits down with Dragunov and Strong.

He welcomes both champion and challenger ahead of their highly anticipated title match. Andy starts with Dragunov. “What’s your opinion of Roderick Strong?” Strong looks forward to this answer. Dragunov isn’t sure what to say. Strong’s work speaks for itself. Such a fighting spirit, such a discipline, such a will to push a performance, to push a fight to the next level. This is something inspiring to Dragunov because it is what he aspires to do every time he steps into the ring. Dragunov wants to push things to the next level, too.

Then what is Strong’s opinion of Dragunov? “Honestly, I see a lot of myself in him. And it’s just as inspiring. The fact that this man wants to push himself to a level that he’s never experience before for growth… It’s very important to me.” And there is no bigger test than Dragunov. Strong has Dragunov on the top of his list, and that NXT UK Champion is on the top of Strong’s list to add to his achievements. That is why Strong is here. Dragunov accepts that Strong respects him, but Strong doesn’t know much about the path Dragunov has been on.

As soon as Dragunov became NXT UK Champion, he became the Czar! He became something that proves what Unbesiegbar is about. “Because a Czar, he takes care of the people that support him. The fans, the audience, they gave me all the energy because they saw I’m fighting for something they believe in.” Strong says right now, Dragunov is living in the glory of the moment of being champion. But he’s never felt the disappointment of losing something as big as a championship. Strong has been a multiple time NXT Tag Team Champion, the NXT North American Champion, and the NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Was.

“Nothing hurts me more than when I say I was. Have you felt that? Because after our match, you will feel that. And to me, that’s the true test. How will you bounce back from that?” Dragunov admits, he has fear. But he takes that energy and puts it into something productive. Strong’s predictions are one thing, but the reality is… Both men stand up and Strong asks what is the reality. The reality is, Dragunov is not going to be the person laying down, but the one standing up and standing his ground! And especially against Strong. Both men are deadly serious, but who proves to be deadlier when they finally clash in the ring?

NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship: Noam Dar w/ Sha Samuels VS Mark Coffey w/ Joe Coffey!

For the Scottish Supernova, it was way back on October when he beat Wolfie in the sixth, and he recently beat “Iron King” Joe deep into the fifth. But now, the younger brother gets his shot! Will Markus do what not even Joseph could and take this cup? Or will Dar continue to do what he’s always done and inflate his ego?

The introductions are made, the cup is raised, and we see if Supernova 11 has Gallus’ number!

Fans rally and duel as the first round begins. Mark and Dar circle, Dar talks smack but Mark mocks the bear claws. They tie up, Dar waistlocks and drags Mark down to then give him noogies! Mark grabs at Dar but Dar gets away and taunts Mark from a distance. They circle more, tie up again, and Dar goes after an arm. Dar wrenches to a wristlock, but Mark reverses back. Dar headlocks for the takeover then traps an arm. Joe coaches Mark and he pushes up to put Dar on ropes. Dar shouts for the ref, the ref counts the ropebreak, and Mark lets off clean. Dar shoves Mark then dodges the haymaker. Dar brushes himself off and has a laugh.

Sha gives Dar his flask to sip, then he splashes Joe some! Joe is mad but Dar gets away to his corner before Mark can get him. They keep circling, Dar gets a headlock at the minute mark. Mark powers up but can’t get free. Mark pushes Dar to ropes, now he’s free, but Dar holds ropes. Dar dodges and table tops, then he high-fives Sha. Dar has Sha put in the call for the after party because this is too easy! We’re at 30 seconds left, they tie up again and Dar trips Mark to then knuckle lock, omoplata, and grab at the leg for a HALF CRAB! Mark endures, last ten seconds, fans count it down, and Mark endures to the bell!

Dar: 0; Mark: 0

Dar pats Mark and mockingly applauds as he regroups with Sha. Joe helps Mark refresh while Dar and Sha mock “Baby Coffey” and prepare the party already. The second round begins now and Dar mockingly asks if Mark is good. They circle, knuckle lock, and Dar rolls and wrenches to wrangle Mark down. Mark fights up but Dar wrenches to ELBOW BREAKER! Mark rolls, wrenches, snapmares Dar and wraps on a chinlock, but Dar slips right out to get the arm again. Mark endures, fights up, but Dar wrenches again. Mark rolls, snapmares, wants the chinlock but again Dar slips out.

Dar has the wristlock again, but Mark breaks free and DECKS Dark! Joe likes that, but Dar avoids the sliding dropkick! Dar baits Mark into a cradle, and gets the fall!

Dar: 1; Mark: 0

That second went fast, and Mark is clearly upset with himself. Dar and Sha talk, Joe helps Mark cool off. Don’t let Dar in your head, get in Dar’s face and get it done! Round three begins already, and Mark DECKS Dar again! Dar is dazed, Mark covers, TWO!! Mark rains down fists on Dar, but Dar gets away. Dar grabs an arm, but Mark waistlocks. Dar throws Mark off, clinches, but Mark blocks the knee strike! Mark carries Dar to ropes, then TOSSES him over head! Sha freaks out while Dar flounder sup. Dar dodges again but Mark turns table top into a roll, and a HALF NELSON SLAM! Cover, TWO!

Mark keeps cool as Dar survives that one. Mark runs back in, clinches and whips but Sha drags Dar out! The ref reprimands but Mark just slides and WRECKS Sha with a dropkick! Mark then fires off on Dar, puts him in, and dodges the back elbow to POLISH HAMMER! Mark then whips and GAMANGIRIS! Cover, Mark ties it up!

Dar: 1; Mark: 1

Keep your eyes open, these rounds are going fast! Sha helps Dar get back to his corner, wanting more recovery time. Joe says that ain’t happening, and the ref agrees! Round four starts with Sha still in the ring. Joe and Mark talk, and Dar rushes over! Mark avoids the ambush to then duck the roundhouse, but not the BACK ELBOW! Cover, TWO! Mark survives and Dar is frustrated. Dar aims and KICKS as Mark sits up. Mark stands but Dar KICKS the leg, then KICKS the chest! Mark blocks the next kick but Dar elbows him away! Dar runs in at the corner but into Mark’s lift and BACK SUPLEX!

Dar hurries to a corner again, but Mark runs in to EuroUpper! Mark then whips Dar to the other corner, for a back body block! Dar crawls, Mark goes up, but Dar kicks the legs out! Mark falls, Dar runs side to side, BOOT! Dar keeps moving, Mark LARIATS Dar inside out! Both men are down and fans fire up! Sha shouts, Mark covers, TWO! Dar still survives, time is ticking away, and the pressure is on Mark. Mark gets up as the minute mark approaches, and he goes to suplex. Dar blocks, wrenches out and kicks the leg! Mark ROCKS Dar with a right! Dar hits back but Mark ROCKS him again!

Dar staggers about, he ROCKS Mark, but Mark ROCKS Dar again! Dar KICKS the leg, fires haymakers but Mark gives them back! Fans rally up as they go back and forth with 30 seconds! Mark EuroUppers, whips, but Dar avoids the gamangiri! Dar gets the leg, CHAMPAGNE SUPER KNEEBAR!! Mark endures as there are 10 seconds left! Dar pulls on the leg, Joe coaches his brother, and Mark survives the round!!

Dar: 1; Mark: 1

Dar is still holding on! Joe gets in to protest, Dar lets off and gets away to his corner. Sha gets in Joe’s face but Joe snatches his newspaper! Joe tosses the papers around, that only upsets Sha more! The ref is busy with picking up the pieces, Sha talks with Dar and Joe helps Mark. The bell rings, here’s round five! Mark avoids Dar’s sweeping kick to ROCK him! Dar forearms, Mark hits back, we’re brawling again already! Dar kicks the leg, but Mark EuroUppers! Dar waistlocks, Mark switches, but Dar bucks the O’Conner for the BACK ELBOW! Cover, TWO!! Fans fire up but Dar is growing frustrated!

Fans rally, Dar puts pinkies out and takes aim, NOVA- No, Dar feints to go for the leg! But Mark uses that to get a stacked cover! TWO, but Mark gets Dar for a modified crossface! Chinbar and armlock, The Gates are locked in! Dar flails and reaches out, and Sha is begging Dar to endure! But Mark drags Dar away and locks the hold on again!! Dar flails, Sha gets up on the apron! Mark swings on Sha and Joe chases him! They end up in the ring, Mark knocks Sha down but he tells Joe to cool off! Dar goes to a corner! He takes aim, NOVA ROLLA!!! Cover, Dar wins!!

Winner: Noam Dar, by pinfall (still NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion)

With a minute and fifteen left, the Scottish Supernova steals one from Gallus! The East End Insurance Policy comes in handy again, though perhaps the Iron King has some of the blame. Either way, will no one ever be able to take this cup from Dar?

My Thoughts:

A great episode right here, though too bad we’re not getting Prelude. But still, great montage of superstars hyping up Dragunov VS Strong, and other than maybe Strong not delivering his promo all that well, great segment of Strong and Dragunov sitting down for a face-to-face meeting. Fairly sure Dragunov wins but it will be another instant classic for this NXT UK Championship. Isla has a good video message to call out Meiko, and I would think she’s asking for a second match for the title. But maybe Isla wants Meiko to agree to step up the ante, maybe a No Disqualification situation, to parallel Meiko VS Blair Davenport. Just no jumping apron spots.

Amale VS Xia was alright but I didn’t expect Xia’s help to come from the crowd like that. Seems they’re going to use a new signee as the next part of this story, not a British legend, so I suppose that’s actually a positive. WWE gets criticized for legends and/or part-timers taking spots, so this is a spot being given to someone new for a good spotlight. Speaking of which, Tate Mayfairs getting that same benefit from the Kenny Williams story is also great. Gradwell makes it clear it was him all along, Kenny loses without really losing but Tate gets a good introduction to NXT UK. Kenny VS Gradwell is going to be great, and I think Tate is going to become a strong part of the midcard while other names are on their way out.

And speaking of that, A-Kid has a good promo to essentially say his match with Teoman will be his good-bye to NXT UK and he’ll be on NXT 2.0 full time after Stand & Deliver. That said, Teoman probably wins so that Die Familie gets on that rise they talked about a month or so ago. Die Familie calls out Gallus again as we’re getting Dempsey VS Wolfgang. I still wonder if Gallus is sticking around or not. We saw in our main event that Dar wins again, though it was still a great match. Not sure what weaknesses Mark claimed to see, other than he was familiar with plenty of Dar’s moveset. But either way, it was cuz Sha and Joe distracted Mark that Dar won, so is Gallus going to go to NXT 2.0 in the post Stand & Deliver part of the year?

What was really good tonight was the stuff with Moustache Mountain and Smith & Carter. Seven got the sneaky win off Smith so we’re all tied up, but as I’m figuring, we’re going to get Sid Scala saying the tiebreaker will be the tag title rematch. They’re going to have a great match, it could go either way as Seven is clearly up for sneaking a win but Tyler is conflicted. I just hope they don’t rehash the story Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan had of being torn apart as a team and friends because of this. A Heel Tyler Bate would be pretty wild in NXT UK, and could help keep him here instead of being dragged to NXT 2.0 to eventually be ruined by Vince like Pete “Butch” Dunne.

My Score: 8.5/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

https://x.com/i/status/1816629254349533588

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
