As we all know, social media and other outlets have become a huge means of drawing in interaction and viewers for WWE. Most people will point to television ratings like they did during the Monday Night Wars in the late 1990’s, however that can be skewed with so many various means of watching today that do not include cable television.

2. Inside look at Takeover’s WarGames Match – 126k views
3. Velveteen Dream vs Lars Sullivan – 104k views
4. Heavy Machinery vs. The Forgotten Sons – 63k views

Matches played second fiddle to storytelling videos this week, as Johnny Gargano’s revelation as to why he attacked Aleister Black too top spot and topped 170k views. Gargano is a mega-star in NXT, as is Black. Despite not being for a championship, the heat on their Takeover match is at a high level right now.

Gargano himself is money for NXT on YouTube, with his ambush on Aleister Black on NXT two weeks ago eclipsing 600k views in less than two full weeks.

WarGames, the major selling point of the upcoming Takeover, took second place with over 125k views. The nature of the match (two rings, one giant cage) captures the imagination of fans both old and young, and this video wets the appetite as we head to NXT’s November signature event.

Velveteen Dream, who is headed to a championship opportunity against Tommaso Ciampa at Takeover, saw his match with Lars Sullivan come in third overall for the week. This can be viewed as a disappointment since he’s headed into a match for the top prize in NXT, but the videos above it deal with a storyline that’s been brewing for several months and a match that has become legend over the past 30 years.

Heavy Machinery—an act that is likely past its usefulness on NXT—and The Forgotten Sons—an act that is just getting started on NXT broadcasts—came in last place with 63k views.
