He drags Omega over and Kip tags in to stomp Omega down.

Kip drags Omega up and whips, elbows Omega down and covers, TWO! Kip keeps on Omega with a facelock and he drags Omega back up. Omega gets a ropebreak so Kip thrashes him about. Best Friends better be ready, because we all just saw the Best Bout Machine and the Problem Solver prove ring rust means nothing to them! Will Fyter Fest be the biggest fight of the champions’ reign?

AEW has big news for Fyter Fest!

Don’t have the money for a PPV? Don’t have a subscription to B/R Live? No problem! Fyter Fest will be a two-night televised event as part of AEW Dynamite! Wednesday, July 1st, and Wednesday, July 8th, will be AEW Fyter Fest 2020, and all the titles will be on the line! The Summer just got even hotter!

Tully Blanchard works to motivate Shawn Spears.

As seen on AEW’s YouTube today, the living legend gives a passionate speech. “What do you want your legacy to be?!” Does he want title belts for his kids to hold up proudly and say, “This is what my dad won!” If Spears doesn’t change something in his heart, that will NEVER happen! But then, later that day, Tully presented Spears with something. The #SearchForSpears is over. Here is the missing piece right here. Tully opens a case and reveals… A glove? Spears puts the glove on, and likes how it feels. But what will a simple addition to his wardrobe do for #PERFECT10N?

Brian Cage w/ Taz VS Shawn Dean!

“Who can stop the Path of Cage?” The answer has yet to be found, but can The Captain at least find a way to slow him down?

The bell rings and Cage immediately tackles Dean to a corner! And rams him in and over again! Cage wrenches and reels Dean into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Taz loves what he sees as Cage drags Dean back up. Cage whips and POSTS Dean, then brings him out for a pump handle DRIVER! Cage looms over Dean as Dean goes to the apron. Cage brings Dean up to the corner, for a DEAD LIFT SUPERPLEX! Dean flounders and Taz laughs but Cage isn’t done yet. Cage drags Dean up, puts one out, and BUCKLE BOMBS him! Then the DRILL CLAW!! Cover, Cage wins!

Winner: Brian Cage, by pinfall

The Machine barely broke a sweat. Taz gets a mic to speak. “So here’s the deal. I’ll pull the curtain back a little bit for you.” Taz and Cage were talking, and thinking about Dynamite from last week when Cage was dominant again. But Jon Moxley heard what Taz said what happens at Fyter Fest with the title on the line. Mox had the audacity to laugh as Taz was talking about the Machine kicking the living sh*t out of him. “We don’t play games, Mox” This is not a joke or a game. Moxley needs to get his head on right, or it’ll get taken off! That is Brian Cage! That is the Machine! Beat him if you can. Survive, if he lets you. But wait, here comes Moxley! The AEW World Champion marches in from the stands and heads right for ringside.

Moxley grabs himself a mic before getting in the ring with Taz and Cage, but Taz warns Moxley. Think and be careful. Moxley still enters the ring and says, “This is fun.” But Taz, the reason Moxley was smiling last week and tonight is the thought of stepping into the ring with “that level of intensity, with that level of aggression, and going to absolute war.” That makes him happy. It’s why he’s in this business. But Taz and Cage should be clear that stepping into the ring with Mox with the title on the line is the farthest thing from a game. Cage is impressive. Cage is a machine that is seemingly indestructible. Moxley is human, he can be beat. But it will take all night long to do it!

Taz is right that Cage is a different thing entirely. But Moxley is a different thing entirely. Taking the title from Moxley is a different prospect entirely, and you will learn that at Fyter Fest when you realize you’re swimming with a different breed of shark! So all due respect, gentlemen, don’t waste time trying to intimidate him. And the next time you say his name on live television, just remember who the hell you’re talking about! Are we in for the nastiest fight in all of wrestling with Fyter Fest?

AEW Media finds Lance Archer and Jake The Snake Roberts.

They’re on some random patch of land outside Daily’s Place, and the Murderhawk Monster is all but mauling a masked wrestler! Archer finishes the guy off by throwing him into construction pylons and barriers. So AEW wants to know what Archer’s been up to since Double or Nothing? DO you think that one loss means anything to him? After 20 years in this business, there is not one person in AEW that will stop him! He is no spot monkey, he is a MONSTER! If you want to know what a monster is about, he will show you pain and torture like you’ve never experienced before! #EverybodyDies, and he means that! Even Jake the Snake says Alex Marvez is lucky to be spared. Who won’t be on Archer’s hit list after his loss in the TNT Championship Tournament Finals?

Matt Hardy visits Private Party.

Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy drink to get over that Six Man Tag loss, but are shocked to see the tag team icon checking in on them. How’s the knee? Y’know, it’s doing alright. Quen shows off his dance moves, so clearly it’s more than alright. But Hardy wants to let them know that he enjoyed that match last week. Private Party is the future of tag team wrestling. So to share something, Private Party’s bond reminds him of his bond with his brother, Jeff. OH WOW! But a lot of guys helped the Hardy Boys, so Matt wants to help them. Oh they are so ready for that! Private Party wants to Hardy Party. That’s catchy. Knew it! Hardy loves the enthusiasm, so just hit him up.

Hardy heads out and crosses paths with Sammy Guevara on his scooter. Hardy says they’re cool now. #Respect. Hardy continues past Sammy, but is everything cool from Sammy’s side of things?

AEW shares the fallout of the Jericho-Tyson confrontation.

Every sports and entertainment news outlet exploded with reactions to the Inner Circle’s pep rally being crashed by “Iron” Mike Tyson and his crew. Tyson himself warns us that this is not over! “I’m coming back and Jericho’s gonna get his ass kicked!” Jericho was furious in his own right, but his fury was then directed at Colt Cabana when Cabana just wanted him to calm down. Le Champion looks to teach Cabana and lesson and send Tyson a message, tonight!

Chris Jericho VS Colt Cabana!

The bell rings and Jericho tells Cabana to mind his own business. Jericho shoves Cabana but Cabana fires off punches and stomps! Jericho rakes Cabana’s eyes and throws hands on him in the corner. The ref backs Jericho off but Jericho comes back, showing off his boxing hands. But then Cabana DECKS him! And CHOPS him! And punches away to then whip him out of the ring! Jericho staggers up but Cabana CHOPS him again! And headlock punches him, and clubs him to the ring. Jake Hager is upset but has to keep his distance. Cabana dodges Jericho and ASAIS onto Jericho and Hager!

Cabana high fives the crowd and wipes the blood from his lip. He brings Jericho up for more punches and body shots, then bumps him off the timekeeper’s desk. Jericho hits back but Cabana put shim in the ring. Jericho pleads with the ref, and Hager POSTS Cabana! The crowd boos but Big Hurt gets away with that one. Hager and Sammy cheers while Cabana is down, and AEW goes to break.

AEW returns and Jericho kicks Cabana between the ropes. HE stalks Cabana to a corner and digs his knee in. The ref counts, Jericho lets off, but Jericho grins while the crowd rallies for Cabana. Jericho throws hands on Cabana to keep him down, then slaps him around. Cabana SLAPS back! Cabana CHOPS and forearms, but Jericho kicks low to whip. Jericho elbows Cabana down then covers, TWO! Hager tells Cabana to stay down but Jericho brings Cabana up. Jericho bumps Cabana off buckles and throws more haymakers. Cabana pushes Jericho away then punches and CHOPS back! Cabana backs Jericho down but Jericho hits back. Jericho whips, runs, but the bulldog is sent to the POST! Sammy and Hager panic but the crowd fires up for “Colt! Colt!”

Cabana gets up to ROCK Jericho but Jericho throws hands back. We have a brawl but Cabana gets the edge. Cabana whips and clotheslines Jericho down! Then whips again, but Jericho reverses. Cabana dodges and JABS! JAB! Flip flop ‘n’ fly for the BIONIC ELBOW! Jericho is up and Cabana runs in,. FLYING APPLE! Jericho is down, Cabana is up, SUPERMAN SPLASH! Cover, TWO!! Cabana can’t believe it but Jericho survives. Cabana throws haymakers and runs, but into a back elbow! Jericho runs, LIONSAULT but he lands on his feet as Cabana moves! Another elbow, Superman Clutch, but Jericho makes it the WALLS! Cabana endures as Jericho sits deep, but Cabana powers his way over, to get the ROPEBREAK! Jericho lets go, thinking he won. The referee explains he didn’t, and he’s upset. Jericho runs, into Cabana’s CHOPS!

Cabana runs, tilt-o-whirls and huricanranas  Jericho to a corner! Corner clothesline and then Cabana hoists Jericho up top! Cabana climbs, SUPER STEINER! Cover, TWO!! Jericho still lives but Cabana won’t let up! La Magistrol, TWO! Cabana CHOPS and whips, but Jericho reverses. Cabana goes up and around, into JUDAS EFFECT!! Cover, Jericho wins!

Winner: Chris Jericho, by pinfall

The Inner Circle shrugs off the bad week they’ve been having, and then he says, “All of you can shut your ass and address Le Champion with respect.” The crowd only boos harder as Jericho says we saw what happened to Cabana. That’ll happen to Iron Mike, “that piece of sh*t!” The most talked about event in sports history happened in this ring last week, and Tyson VS Jericho is the fight everyone wants to see. Jericho wants it, he is ready. He can taste Cabana’s blood on his fist, now he wants to taste the blood of Tyson when he shoves Tyson’s head up his own ass! Jericho won’t wait for next week, next PPV or next Christmas. He wants Tyson here and now! Jericho is calling out “the baddest man on the planet!” Le Champion is waiting for Tyson! Where’s the baddest man on the planet?! Jericho’s right here, so where’s Tyson?! Is Tyson scared?!

But instead of Iron Mike, he gets Freshly Squeezed! The Sloth gets in the ring and steps to Jericho for the beating Proud ‘n’ Powerful gave him. And he makes Jericho put his hands in his… well, his belt. And then Orange Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets! Hager swings on Cassidy but Cassidy dodges! Cassidy dodges Jericho, then bails out of the ring! Best Friends help Cassidy up and over the railing, and Santana and Ortiz hurry out. The Inner Circle wants after Tyson, but now they have eyes on Cassidy, Trent and Chuckie T! Will they get their hands on all their enemies as the Summer rolls in?

AEW checks in on Britt Baker.

The Role Model rehabs her injured leg and keeps up with her general cardio, but with a far more reduced level of intensity. Plus, Rebel is there to help her with a lot of the heavy lifting. Even Tony Schiavone is cheering her on. Will the Role Model stay on a roll and be ready for All Out in September?

Nyla Rose VS Big Swole!

The Native Beast lost the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double Or Nothing, but with all titles on the line at Fyter Fest, there’s always a chance at redemption. But Aerial Monroe is hungry for her first chance, will she be able to get past Nyla to head for Fyter Fest?

The bell rings and the crowd is on Swole’s side. Swole flexes and dodges Nyla, then waistlocks. Nyla elbows but Swole keeps out of reach. Swole headlocks but Nyla throws body shots. Nyla powers out but Swole dodges to get the headlock back! Nyla denies the takedown with power, but Swole throws elbows. Swole tries again but can’t throw Nyla down. Swole gets a waistlock, ripcord, Dirty- NO! SIT OUT SPINE BUSTER!! Cover, Nyla wins!!

Winner: Nyla Rose, by pinfall

Hikaru Shida was watching from the crowd, and she saw for herself that the Native Beast hasn’t lost a step just because she lost the title. Will Nyla be the one to step to the champion for Fyter Fest?

Ringside interview with Big Swole.

Having months off, she still came back with a great fight for Nyla. It is good to be back, and Swole has been re-centered. It doesn’t matter that she lost, because she’s got the fans and her peers behind her. Wait, Britt is making a fuss about Rebel backing the cart up. The “Role’s Royce” RAMS the railing?! Britt gets at Swole for saying she’s the fan favorite. Swole takes offense, and grabs a chair! Britt freaks out and has Rebel drive away in retreat. But they crash into other railing on that side! Swole throws the chair at the cart and dares Britt to come get some. Will Swole get after The Dentist the second she can compete in the ring?

Backstage interview with Darby Allin.

One of the toughest ever in the ring never lets an injury from keeping him out, but this time, the doctors have said Darby cannot get in the ring. Going back to Double Or Nothing’s Casino Ladder Match, does Darby think Brian Cage’s focus on him has anything to do with Darby rejecting Taz’s help? “Life’s one big joke.” But Darby vows to get the last laugh. When and where will Darby look to spring the punchline on Taz and The Machine?

Tony Schiavone interviews #FTR.

Tony is very honored to have the first exclusive sit-down with Wheeler and Harwood, who arrived a week ago to confront the biggest names in the AEW Tag Team Division. The obvious question must be asked: What does FTR stand for? Well there are a lot of things. It is not a tagline that can just be served out. It is a way of life. It is anything that you want it to stand for. Fear The Revolution, Follow The Rules, just something that took a life of its own. They are here, the pinnacle of the wrestling revolution! So right now, think of it as Wheeler and Harwood being For The Revolution. Yes, AEW has the world’s greatest tag teams now. So there must be a list of dream matches, right? Yes, they’ve thought about this for a year and a half now. Despite what happened last week, FTR will give The Butcher & The Blade their due respect. Private Party are great kids, Proud ‘n’ Powerful have been all over, and now they’re all under the same roof.

The same goes for the Lucha Brothers, Pentagon & Rey Fenix. They’re the exact opposite of how FTR wrestles, so Wheeler & Harwood will teach them real tag team wrestling! And of course, the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Kenny Omega & Hangman Page, even though that’s not a “real” tag team. That is the ultimate goal all the same. But what about the Young Bucks? They’re what tag team wrestling is all about. Well of course. That is the “dream match” to all the fans, but it isn’t one to FTR. Wheeler & Harwood had to sit back and watch the Bucks be gifted “Tag Team of the Decade,” and had to listen to Dave Meltzer sing their praises as “the next Midnight Express.” Do you think that makes FTR happy? Do you think they enjoy all this? They don’t! They don’t want to come in and have the greatest tag team match ever with The Bucks, they want to punch the Bucks in the mouths.

Well then why didn’t FTR brawl with The Bucks after clearing out Butcher & Blade? FTR has dreamed about this moment for five years. You can’t say one team’s name without the other’s. Everyone wonders who is better. And when it comes to finally having it out, FTR doesn’t want there to be any excuse. “Oh~, they were softened up, they were injured, they had a bad back.” FTR wants The Young Bucks to be healthy, to be in the best shape of their lives, so they can beat them. FTR wants commentary to then come to them and apologize for the last year and a half. Tony is sure whatever happens, it will be amazing. Tony thanks them for this time, and has to admit, this whole time he thought FTR stood for… Well, can they say it here? “F*** The Revival.” Well of course people would think that.

Whoa, here come Butcher and Blade! Andy Williams and Braxton Sutter are furious to say the least, and accuse FTR of thinking they’re all tough and what not. Security rushes in to keep another brawl from happening. FTR says it was nothing personal. That was business. FTR are businessmen. But if you want to make it personal, let’s settle this in the ring. And then Cash splashes water at Blade! “See you next week! FTR, out!” But will FTR be able to handle their business against a furious pair of cutthroats?

AEW sets up for another big episode!

After losing to Le Champion, Colt Cabana tries his luck against the Spanish God! Cabana VS Guevara is coming! The Open Challenge Cody Rhodes has put for the TNT Championship has already been answered, by Private Party’s Marq Quen! But the question will be, who does Quen face after the main event of Cody VS Jungle Boy? And as we saw, FTR challenged Butcher & Blade, and that match is happening to give Wheeler & Harwood their in-ring debuts! Plus, after the confrontation between Cassidy and the Inner Circle, he and the Best Friends take on Jake Hager, Santana & Ortiz in Six Man Tag action! Has a new war in AEW just begun? And don’t miss Jon Moxley’s return to in-ring action, on AEW DARK!

Backstage interview with Colt Cabana.

His most impressive AEW performance yet in a loss to Chris Jericho, but that’s why Cabana is here. He’s shown he can hang with the big guys in the spotlight. But those big victories are hanging over his head. He couldn’t beat Lance Archer, he couldn’t beat Chris Jericho, and… Mr. Brodie Lee walks in with his Dark Order spokesman. “Loss is a part of life, Colt. We’ve all suffered losses, but without losses, we don’t grow.” It is what you do after a loss that defines you. And Brodie can help Cabana. The spokesman gives Cabana a bottle of water, and asks he simply consider it. Cabana says he doesn’t want to #JoinDarkOrder, but he does drink the water. But if things get worse, will Cabana soon be drinking the Kool-Aid?

AEW TNT Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Jungle Boy!

The American Nightmare overcame the odds and won this title at Double Or Nothing! But once again, Cody puts so much pressure on himself to be THE workhorse of AEW, promising to wrestle week after week after week, all in TNT Championship defenses! AEW returns once again, and JB flops out of the ring. Cody goes out to fetch JB and headbutts him! JB staggers to the stage, and dodges the second headbutt! Cody hits the wall! Cody staggers and JB shakes out the cobwebs. JB tells MJF to shut up as MJF mouths off about JB not deserving this shot at Cody and the title. MJF calls JB a joke, but JB taunts back, “How’s the chest?” MJF takes off his scarf and jacket but JB leaves him where he is. JB goes back to Cody, who is BLEEDING from hitting his head right into the stage! JB is shocked to see that, but he still gets Cody into the ring. Cody takes off the weight belt but the ref tells him not to lash JB. Cody tosses the belt aside and grabs a leg, but JB pushes Cody out. The timekeeper’s area is precariously close but Cody keeps from falling down. Cody climbs up but JB clubs him first!

JB climbs up to join Cody now but Cody fights back. Cody brings JB up but JB fights. The two teeter, and they fall down through the table!! Arn Anderson is speechless while the ref and medic check on both men. “This is Awesome!” but can either continue? Cody stirs but so does JB. Cody drags JB from the wreckage, wanting this to end in the ring. He puts JB inside and has to shoulder into JB. Cody slingshots to sunset flip but JB sits on it! TWO!! JB swings into the dragon sleeper, the CROSS RHODES!! Cover, Cody wins!!

Winner: Cody Rhodes, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)

The Nightmare Family and Jurassic Express head out to check on both their men. Cody clears the first hurdle of his own challenge, and he helps JB to his feet. Will Jungle Boy be back for a second chance at this title? Will Marq Quen be the one to take the gold? Or will Cody carry this title until the wheels fall off?

My Thoughts:

An incredible episode book-ended by great title matches. The AEW World Tag Team Championship match was really good, and a great return to form for Omega and Hangman as a duo. There’s no more dysfunction thanks to the Stadium Stampede, but it’s obviously of note that the Tag Division as a whole is just getting stronger every week. FTR had a really good interview promo with Tony Schiavone, and I love how they spun the story with the Young Bucks. Their in-ring debut against Butcher & Blade next week will be great, and I’m sure the dream-not-dream match of FTR VS Bucks will be for All out, and will be just insane. And of course, Omega & Page VS Best Friends for Fyter Fest will be great, too, but too close to call at this point. Best Friends & Orange Cassidy being next for Inner Circle while there’s also Jericho VS Tyson coming on the side is also great. I would love if Tyson became an honorary Best Friend by helping them against The Inner Circle.

Also, I love that Fyter Fest isn’t just a free PPV online, it is a free two episode special for Dynamite! This will give us the same four hours of action, but with some room to breathe for viewers. Having all the titles on the line is basically standard, so it’s good to know that the next month is going to be build towards the event. Nyla VS Swole was really good, but it makes some sense for Nyla to win. Losing one match doesn’t change that Nyla is still a monster and can easily come back for that belt. Britt has a hilarious cheesy vignette and an equally goofy attempt at getting after Swole. I really hope Britt VS Swole is what we get for All Out, that’ll be a great return match for Britt, but it should also result in Swole getting a big win. An obnoxious Heel is only as good as the comeuppance they get, and that’d be the perfect time for Britt to get hers.

Taz and Moxley had a great promo battle that was better than Cage squashing Shawn Dean. Moxley VS Cage is going to be incredible and I hope it goes for half an hour on Night 2. Jericho has a great promo calling out Tyson, has a great match with Cabana, and Cabana’s story with the Dark Order is definitely going places. Cody VS Jungle Boy was also incredible, and it definitely raises JB’s level even in losing. I’m surprised the next challenger is Marq Quen given he’s a tag team wrestler, but I suppose that’s not always a limitation. This will give Quen a great spotlight of his own, but I’m thinking Cody wins. I feel like MJF is going to get fed up watching Cody beat other wrestlers and he’ll demand to be the Fyter Fest challenge. Then Cody will finally get the win on MJF that he wanted at AEW Revolution.

My Score: 9.3/10

Backstage interview with The Acclaimed.

Lexy Nair is with Max Caster, Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn. First off, congrats on the recent success of the newest video. Thank you, Lexy. And Bowens is facing Brian Cage in tonight’s main event, how- Daddy Ass has us stop there. Let’s talk about everyone going crazy, running wild. The Embassy turning on Swerve, The Elite abusing their authority. Billy isn’t sure if Lexy has watched older wrestling, but Billy has a thing about authority. So if they wanna get wild, if they wanna go nuts, that is right up their aisle!

Caster says that’s right! He also thanks Lexi for saying those nice things about his song. But that song was about him and Bowens going back to the Tag Division. If you read the lyrics, which are great lyrics, but none of those team decided to wrestle The Acclaimed. Perhaps they’re a little too afraid to wrestle the best team alive. So they took the first match they could find, and that turned out to be Bowens VS Brian Cage 1v1. Sure, Brian is The Machine, but there are a lot of machines that are now antiquated, and we know Brian doesn’t have AI in his brain. In fact, he can’t update his software! It’s about time Bowens takes Brian to the junkyard!

Bowens says that’s right! Platinum Max & Daddy Ass said it themselves, there is a lot of chaos and madness going on in AEW! Bowens tells Brian and his cronies that they decided to side with The Elite, well you’re looking at the foundation of AEW! The best tag team alive, the best homegrown stars, The Acclaimed! That train is gonna roll right through Brian tonight, courtesy of the Scissor King! Because EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed! Say it again, EVERYONE loves The Acclaimed!! The Five Tool Player is fired up, but will he need all those tools to dismantle The Machine?

Rush VS Cody Chhun!

El Toro Blanco is back again, and this time he is looking to reach the top of AEW. Will he stampede through everyone put in his path until he is adored with AEW gold?

The bell rings, the fans rally up with “FOUR C! FOUR C!” Chhun runs up but Rush dodges! Chhun hits buckles, then Rush CLOBBERS him! Chhun sits in the corner checking his jaw, but Rush goes to the far side. “If you mess with the bull…” You get BULL’S HORNS!! Rush drags Chhun to a cover, Rush wins!

Winner: Rush, by pinfall

Rush stands tall, but he doesn’t even care to celebrate, because this was more an inevitability than a victory to him. But then he sees Chhun stirring, and Rush drags him out of the ring! Rush CHOPS Chhun right down! Then he whips Chhun hard into barriers! The ref reprimands but Rush THROWS Chhun around again! Rush fires down fists, the fans boo as Rush DECKS Chhun! Rush won’t stop, he finds his favorite bright green cord! Rush LASHES Chhun, even as more refs rush out here! Rush CHOKES Chhun with the cord!! The refs all shout for him to stop, and Rush does. But he wants everyone to remember: Nothing happens unless HE says so!!

Rush storms off, spits on Chhun, and then grabs a chair! The refs warn him, so Rush simply stands on the chair to soak up the heat. Will nothing and no one stop Rush from rampaging his way to the top?

Lexy Nair is outside the trainer’s room.

She notes that to close Collision, Lance Archer & The Righteous viciously attacked FTR after the match. Bryan Danielson walks out, Lexy asks for a medical update. Well, The Elite put a bounty on Team AEW’s heads, and it seems to have worked. FTR won’t make it to Dynamite next Wednesday. But the Elite also failed, because here’s the thing. The Elite wants to change the world? They don’t even show up on Saturdays! And the failure is that Bryan is still here! So this Wednesday, Bryan will be on Dynamite. The Elite can take whatever shot they want, but they better get it done the first time. Otherwise, they won’t like the consequences.

Bryan heads out, but are The EVPs going to make sure no one makes it to Double or Nothing to oppose them?

Deonna Purrazzo VS Robyn Renegade!

The Virtuosa is still seething over her many run-ins with Thunder Rosa, but it seems their rematch isn’t destined to happen just yet. Will Deonna one-up La Mera Mera by beating Robyn worse than Rosa did?

The bell rings, the two circle, and they knuckle lock. Deonna spins to wrangle Robyn, but Robyn rolls back. Robyn wrenches, wristlocks, but Deonna rolls, rolls and gets free. The fans cheer, Deonna smirks, but Robyn runs up. Robyn waistlocks, Deonna switches, but Robyn switches back. Deonna pries free to switch again, then she trips Robyn up. Deonna runs, Robyn stays low, then Robyn hits a rolling fireman’s carry takeover! Robyn runs up but Deonna ducks the kick to roll her up! TWO, and Robyn staggers up into an arm-drag! Deonna has the armlock, the fans cheer, but Robyn endures.

Robyn fights up, Deonna hits another takeover, and she traps the arm. Deonna makes it a cover, ONE as Robyn gets the shoulder up. Deonna knuckle locks, wrenches, then clamps onto the arm. Robyn fights up to whip free, then runs to sunset flip! Deonna stays up, then slaps the arms away to clamp on an ARMBAR! Robyn fights around, flails, and has the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, Deonna lets go at 4, and Rampage goes picture in picture.

Deonna stalks Robyn, brings her around and whips, but Robyn holds ropes. Deonna ROCKS Robyn, Robyn still holds ropes! Deonna ROCKS Robyn again, whips, but Robyn reverses. Robyn ducks the forearm, and the backhand, then clinches for a HALF NELNSON FACEBUSTER! Robyn fires up, she sits Deonna up, and runs to SHOTGUN her down! Cover, TWO! Robyn is frustrated, but she drags Deonna back up and bumps her off buckles. Robyn CHOPS Deonna, smirks, and winds up to CHOP again! Robyn says one more time, then puts some stank on it. But Deonna dodges to CHOP back! Deonna whips corner to corner, but Robyn reverses.

Robyn runs in, but Deonna puts her on the apron! Robyn ROCKS Deonna first, steps in, but Deonna ARM CODE BREAKERS! Robyn writhes, Deonna storms over, and Deonna drags Robyn up. Deonna knuckle locks, wrenches, then top wristlocks to wrangle Robyn. Deonna traps the arm for a SNAP LOCK! Cover, TWO! Robyn clutches the arm but Deonna is on her again. Deonna pulls on the bad arm, then top wristlocks. Robyn endures as Deonna thrashes the arm, and Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns and Deonna wrenches Robyn’s arm. Robyn ROCKS Deonna, but Deonna wrenches again. Robyn fires off a flurry of forearms and the fans fire up! Deonna shoves Robyn but Robyn LARIATS on return! The fans fire up with Robyn, then she wrenches Deonna to reel her in, put her in ropes, and KNEE her! Robyn runs to then STOMP Deonna down! Cover, TWO!! Deonna survives and Robyn is frustrated. The fans rally, Robyn drags Deonna up, then fireman’s carries. Deonna slips free, shoves, and BOOTS Robyn down! Deonna slashes her throat and vows to end this! The fans fire up as Deonna drags Robyn up.

Deonna Gotch hooks, but Robyn slips free! Robyn pump handles, but Deonna arm-drags free! Deonna BOOTS the lariat, ARMBAR DDT! FUJIWARA!! Robyn taps, Deonna wins!

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo, by submission

Deonna didn’t even need Venus De Milo, but then she puts that on Robyn anyway!! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Deonna makes Robyn suffer in Rosa’s place! But wait, here comes Thunder Rosa!! La Mera Mera rushes the ring, but Deonna runs away! So when does the part about regretting to mess with a Jersey girl come in? Rosa checks Robyn, and Deonna slithers back in! Deonna CLOBBERS Rosa from behind! Oh so that’s the part about Jersey? Rosa gets up, though, and Deonna retreats again. Rosa runs Deonna down and grabs her by the hair! Rosa drags Deonna back to the ring to RAM her into the apron!

The fans fire up as Rosa tells Deonna to fight her now! Rosa puts Deonna in, Deonna rolls out of the ring and runs into the crowd! The fans boo as Deonna flees into the night. When and where will Deonna have to give Rosa this fight?

Scorpio Sky speaks.

“I have done things people dream about. I’ve made money, faced legends, won championship after championship after championship. And you might not wanna hear this, but that was easy. And that doesn’t mean I don’t relate. I understand a normal person put in my position would fail. Because since time began, when people wanted to see a star, they’d look up at the Sky. And all that does is put me in the perfect place to reach down and lift you all up here with me. So to all the fans around the world, I’m coming back. And I’m here for you.” But will this comeback finally be the time Scorpio Sky reaches the top of the mountain?

Backstage interview with Sonjay Dutt.

Lexy Nair says Sonjay asked for this time, what is on his mind? Sonjay says first off, he sure doesn’t need Lexy here so hit the bricks. Skedaddle, peace, see ya. Lexy sighs and leaves, and Sonjay says this is for Bryan Danielson. The Elite have put a price out on Bryan’s head, and Sonjay just got off the phone with them, they have worked out quite the deal. Bryan says he’ll be on Dynamite, and so is Sonjay. But no, Sonjay isn’t the one that’ll take him out once and for all. This Wednesday, it will be The American Dragon VS… The Indian Giant! Yeah, that’s right! The one in a billion, Satnam Singh!

And y’know what? Dragon meat is expensive, so hopefully he goes well with a little chicken masala. This Wednesday, it will be one hell of a cookout! Sonjay laughs to himself, but will Bryan be the one with the last laugh after taking on this giant roadblock?

PROGRAMMING NOTE for Rampage next week!

Yes, Rampage returns to Friday nights next week, BUT at a special time of 6:30 Eastern, 3:30 Pacific! Make sure your DVRs know so you don’t miss this special Double or Nothing weekend edition!

Brian Cage VS Anthony Bowens w/ The Acclaimed!

The Machine turned on Swerve and then got beat by Swerve, crossing him off the list of top contenders. But will he reboot and head for other title opportunities? Or will The Acclaimed prove they can get it done in any division?

As always, Platinum Max has a diss track! “I heard Brian Cage got captain plans. We leave you bleeding so hard, you got menstrual cramps! Damn you are ugly, lookin’ pathetic. You are so small, get off the Ozempic! When did Brian Cage stop lifting weights? Beat him so bad, whip his ass into shape! Run you outta town just like Daim, because in Portland, Everybody Loves The Acclaimed!” Bowens then says, “PORTLAAAAND~! The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor me, Daddy Ass~!” And he does~! The fans are fired up, but will Cage get his stuff in in response?

The bell rings and the fans sing “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” Cage and Bowens circle, tie up, and Cage shoves Bowens away! Cage flexes, fans are torn, and Cage says to scissor that. Bowens has Cage hold on, and then Bowens flexes. The fans cheer for Bowens, and he does scissor that! Cage runs up, Bowens gets around, then CHOPS! And CHOPS! Cage TOSSES Bowens to a corner, takes a swing, but Bowens dodges! Bowens CHOPS and CHOPS, but Cage shoves Bowens away. Cage runs up, Bowens gets under and kicks low. Bowens whips, Cage reverses, but Bowens goes up and over. Bowens hurdles, headlocks, but Cage powers out.

Bowens hurdles, slips around the lariat and DDTS! Cover, ONE!! Cage is tougher than that but the fans fire up behind Bowens. Bowens gets Cage up but Cage SPINEBUSTERS him! Cage says no more scissors! Cage storms up to RAM into Bowens! And RAM in again! And then CHOP! The fans “WOO~!” while Cage stalks Bowens. Cage bumps Bowens off buckles, then says one more time! NOT! Cage trolls the fans, whips Bowens, then runs up to UPPERCUT! LARIAT! SAIDO! Cage asks who betta but the fans are torn. Cage storms over to Bowens, drags him up, and ROCKS him with a forearm. Cage CHOPS, ROCKS Bowens again, then CHOPS again.

The ref counts, Cage whips corner to corner, then runs up. Bowens dodges the splash, blocks the kick, CLUBS the knee then KNEE JAMMERS into a DRAGON SCREW! Cage writhes and flounders to the apron while Bowens catches his breath. Bowens storms up, brings Cage up, but Cage swings! Bowens ducks, feints, then kicks the legs out! Cage hits apron on the way down, and Bowens aims. Bowens slingshots but Cage moves, so Bowens just goes to the apron. But Cage blocks the Penalty Kick to bring Bowens down, POST BOMB!! Cage gloats, then leaves Bowens behind, while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Bowens writhes, Cage goes back out to drag him up, and RAMS him into barriers! Cage brings Bowens around, SMACKS him off the apron, then drags him up again. Cage whips Bowens hard into steel steps! Bowens falls over in a heap, Cage flexes, then Cage refreshes the ring count. Cage drags Bowens up but Bowens pushes him away. Cage BOOTS Bowens down, then brings him up for an APRON BACK SUPLEX! Cage gloats some more, steps into the ring, and storms up on Bowens. Bowens kicks low, throws hands, but Cage JUMP KNEES! Cage digs his boots into Bowens at the ropes, lets off, and Bowens sputters.

Cage CHOKES Bowens again, the ref counts, and Cage lets off again. Cage drags Bowens up, scoops and uses him for bicep curls! Cage then TOSSES Bowens away! Cage swaggers around, flexes, and covers, TWO! Bowens KICKS Cage from below! And kicks him again! Cage KICKS Bowens, whips him to ropes, then CLOBBERS Bowens! Cage clamps onto Bowens with a chinlock and grinds him down! Bowens endures, Cage grinds him into the mat, but the fans rally up. Bowens fights up to his feet, throws body shots, but Cage KNEES him away. Cage wags his finger, gloats a bit more, then runs corner to corner to forearm smash!

Cage soaks up more cheers and jeers as Rampage returns to single picture. Cage run sin, but Bowens BOOTS him! And BOOTS again! Bowens goes up, leaps, but Cage catches him! Cage suplexes, but Bowens cradle counters! TWO!! Cage escapes but Bowens ducks the discus! Bowens hobbles but he still ROCKS Cage, throws more hands, but Cage SOBATS! KICKS! Cage runs up, Bowens sends him at the ref! Bowens waistlocks but Cage LOW BLOWS!! The fans boo but Cage reels Bowens in! DRILL CLAW!!! Cover, Cage wins!!

Winner: Brian Cage, by pinfall

Bowens may be an excellent former Tag & Trios Champion, but sadly he isn’t at the level needed as a singles guy. Will The Acclaimed have to regroup and focus on going after The Elite? Will The Machine be granted golden opportunities by said Elite?

My Thoughts:

A very good Rampage to once again follow up Collision, but I’m relieved that next week is going to be a partial return to normal schedule. Because as great as the matches here were, they just felt thrown together to tangentially tell stories. For example, Kyle VS Lee was a great match but Kyle has beef with The House of Black but they didn’t want Kyle getting one over on Buddy or Brody before facing Malakai next Wednesday. Shane Taylor Promotions deserves a touch better than being fed to the bigger stories, but maybe they come around as a trio after Double or Nothing to face like Bang Bang Gang or something.

And even our main event was an example of this. Great promo from Acclaimed, great rap from Caster as usual, but also a good choice for Cage to still win out. Cage has done singles champ stuff, is going to be the singles champ guy in whatever the former Mogul Embassy becomes after this, or even just a singles guy all on his own. Rush of course squashes his opponent tonight but him going after Chhun after was a good touch. At the same time, I kinda wanted the ref to reverse the decision and disqualify Rush after the match, throwing him into a worse rage and beating up on Chhun more. And again, why no La Faccion Ingobernable? Donde esta Dralistico, Preston Vance y Jose?

Good match from Deonna VS Robyn but of course Deonna won. Rosa going after Deonna and Deonna running away was not what I was expecting, it’s rather disappointing, and why not just give us their rematch with escalated stipulations already? Deonna VS Rosa in a Last Woman Standing maybe? Iron Woman Match so that it goes right to half an hour? Something cool like that would really show Tony Khan finally wants to do more with the Women’s Division after promising it like two or three times already.

And very good promos from Bryan and Sonjay Dutt to set up Bryan VS Satnam. I would think Bryan wins, but there’s a good chance Team Triple J goes after him post match anyway. As I just said in the Collision article, Anarchy in the Arena being No Disqualifications of the highest level, we could actually get way more than just the eight men advertised as the roster starts choosing sides, a very Avengers Civil War/Endgame type situation.

My Score: 8.6/10
