AEW TNT Championship: Darby Allin VS Joey Janela!

The Relentless and the Icon have a Street Fight at Revolution against some bad, bad men. But tonight, he is up against the Bad Boy, someone he is very familiar with. Will there be less a winner and more a survivor who holds up the gold?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and this golden opener begins!

Darby and Janela stare down as the fans fire up. Darby and Janela circle, tie up, and they are in a deadlock. Darby gets Janela onto ropes but Janela turns it around, only for them to end up in the corner. The ref calls for a break but Janela brings Darby out to waistlock. Darby backs Janela into the corner, the ref counts and Janela lets go. The two keep it clean as Darby backs off. Janela does Scott Hall “so scary~” fingers, then he circles and ties up with Darby. Darby wrenches the arm, hammerlocks, but Janela spins around, only for Darby to spin through and hold on. And again! Fans cheer the technical exchange, but Janela reaches back to snapmare, only for Darby to still hold on!

Darby cranks the hold, Janela endures and fights up, and Janela backs Darby into buckles. Darby lets go, Janela elbows him down! The ref reprimands but Janela drags Darby up to whip. Darby ducks, dodges and uses ropes to go up and hit a FLYING ARM-DRAG! Janela flounders up and Darby DROPKICKS him down! Janela flops to the apron, Darby follows him out and brings him up, only for Janela to APRON GOURD BUSTER first! Darby staggers, Janela builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit and Darby is sent into railing! Janela puts Darby in fast and covers, TWO! Darby survives but Janela keeps his focus.

Fans rally up, Janela has Darby in a corner and throws haymakers. Janela bumps Darby off buckles, throws EuroUppers, then stalks Darby around the way. Janela throws another big forearm, then another, but Darby fires back! Darby puts Janela in the corner, whips him corner to corner but Janela reverses and he sends Darby in hard! Janela drags Darby to a cover, TWO! Darby is still in this but Janela sneers and drags him up. Janela chicken wings and drags Darby back to a chinbar! Darby fights against the hold but Janela pulls both ears! The ref reprimands, Janela lets off, and then chinbars. Darby throws elbows to get free of the body scissors, but Janela jawbreakers back!

Janela goes to a corner while Darby is down. Darby slowly rises, Janela climbs up, and Janela leaps to ax handle Darby down! Janela heads to another corner, climbs up again, but Darby YANKS him off the top and hotshots him! Darby drags Janela up but Janela ROCKS him with a right! And then rubber bands the ropes into Darby’s face! Darby flails as he clutches his face, but Janela paces like a shark with blood in the water. Janela drags Darby up, brings him to a corner, but Darby uses buckles to go up and over! Darby SHOTGUNS Janela into buckles! Janela goes back to the apron, Darby hurries over.

Darby wrenches the arm, and elbow breaker HOTSHOTS it! And again! And then YANKS Janela into ropes! Janela tumbles down, Darby builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit and Janela hits railing hard! Sonny Kiss is right there to check on his tag partner, and the ref also checks, but somehow Janela is okay. Darby drags Janela up, in and covers, TWO! Darby doesn’t let off, he has the arm for a FUJIWARA! Janela scrambles, reaches for ropes but Darby keeps pulling! ROPEBREAK! But Darby gets that arm, too! Janela scrambles and uses his MOUTH for the ropebreak! Darby lets go in frustration, and he kicks the ropes! Janela checks his teeth while Darby fires up!

Fans fire up as Darby drags Janela up. Darby runs, springboards, but into a GERMAN SUPLEX! Darby staggers up into a SUPERKICK! Cover, TWO! Darby survives and Janela is beside himself! Janela looks at the title, then looks at Darby. Darby WRINGS Janela’s arm out! Both men slowly rise again, fans rally up as they stare down, and Darby throws a forearm! Janela hits back, Darby fires off, headbutts low then runs, into a LARIAT! Janela grits his teeth, drags Darby back up and suplexes, but Darby turns it into the THROWBACK! Jackknife cover, TWO! Janela bridges up, spins Darby around, backslides but Darby fights out to wring Janela again, to trap the arm, LA MAGISTROL! TWO!!

Darby wrenches again, Janela counters by stepping over and reeling Darby in. Janela hits a SNAP PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO?!? Janela is again in shock as Darby survives! “This is Awesome!” and the show’s only just begun! Janela bumps Darby off buckles, hoists him up top, and then ROCKS him with a right! Janela climbs, but Darby is after the bad arm! Darby elbows away, hops up and hits a SUPER CODE RED!! Cover, TWO!!! Janela survives and now Darby is the one in shock! Darby and Janela slowly stir as fans shift to “This is Crazy!” Darby drags Janela up, hammerlocks the arm, and hits an STO! Darby keeps going, he climbs up top, for the COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Darby wins!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)

That was intense as could be while staying within normal rules! But now, Darby must prepare for his fight with no rules but to win! Will he and Sting be able to take Absolute Ricky Starks and The Machine, Brian Cage, to task at Revolution?

AEW has the full Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament Bracket!

On the Japan half, the opening round will see: Yuka Sakazaki VS Mei Suruga; Veny VS Emi Sakura; Maki Itoh VS Ryo Mizunami; and Aja Kong VS Rin Kadokura! On the US half, the opening round will see: Anna Jay VS Britt Baker; Tay Conti VS Nyla Rose; NWA Women’s World Champion, Serena Deeb VS inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion, Riho; and tonight, former NWA Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa, VS #LEGIT Leyla Hirsch! Who makes it out of the Super 16 to be in the All Elite 8?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“Kenta has been calling me out for months from across an ocean, walking around with a stupid little briefcase, talking trash, looking like a dork.” So last week wasn’t really a surprise. Did Kenny Omega and Kenta connected on some Bullet Club Facebook Group? Moxley thinks Kenta realized the time for cheap talk was over. And if Kenta wants Moxley’s IWGP United States Championship, he has to get it done in the ring on February 26th, NJPW New Beginnings in USA! Moxley and Kenta will stand eye to eye, toe to toe, mano a mano, as “two of the hardest hitting,  nastiest suckers in the game,” in a war of attrition until one man can’t stand! 2/26/21, Moxley dumps Kenta on his head!

But that’ll be a sanctioned match for the title. Tonight is not so much. Moxley teams with a man who has tried to kill him multiple times in Lance Archer, against two guys with a common interest: Take Moxley off the board. “Good luck with that, dudes. Tonight is just for fun.” Will the Death Rider and Murderhawk Monster make sure the Cleaner and the Fang Revived learn the hard way that they can’t get down and dirty like them?

Sammy Guevara has cameras follow him.

He returns to the Inner Circle’s private room, and MJF pretends he was looking all over for him. Sammy tells Wardlow, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz that he needs a minute with Max. The boys check with MJF, and he says he’s good. They go, so now it’s just Sammy, MJF and the camera. What does Sammy want to say? Sammy watched Dynamite back last week, and he knows what MJF is doing. MJF says people are alluding to this all the time, so he wants Sammy to say it himself. Sammy says he knows MJF is just trying to take over the Inner Circle. Oh is that right? Yes, it’s so obvious! MJF is making it more obvious every week!

MJF says when he first got here, he thought this was a “childish, petty rivalry” from Sammy. Because honestly, MJF figured Sammy was jealous. Why wouldn’t he be? Sammy was the “apple of Chris Jericho’s eye,” until MJF came along. Le Sex Gods dies, #Y2MJF is the new favorite. But then MJF realized something more sinister. This isn’t jealousy. MJF thinks Sammy hates Jericho. Sammy hates that he has to play second fiddle to Jericho! Sammy thinks he should be the front man of the Inner Circle, doesn’t he? MJF thinks Sammy is upset because HE wants to take over the team. Oh~ okay! MJF figured it out~! Sammy wants to take over! Sammy hates Jericho. Is that what MJF wants to hear? Yes, actually.

Wait, MJF was recording that on his phone?! Sammy snatches the phone, SMASHES it against the wall, then LOW BLOWS MJF! Sammy scowls and leaves MJF whimpering. But will Jericho understand what is happening between his boys behind his back?

Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson w/ Arn Anderson VS Peter Avalon & Cezar Bononi!

You think a man with a losing streak as long as “Pretty” Peter’s would’ve been used to losing, but he was very upset when he lost his own Walk-Off challenge to #BigShotty Johnson. Will the Brazilian V8 help PPA shoot down Johnson and his handsome tag partner, the American Nightmare, to avenge that loss?

The teams sort out, and Cody starts with Avalon for their own rematch from a few weeks ago. They approach, Cody fires off on Avalon and bumps him off buckles. Cody stomps a mudhole in then lets off as the ref counts. Avalon gasps but Cody drags him up to wrench. Tag to Johnson, and Johnson takes the hand-off to wrench the arm. Avalon spins, wrenches and headlocks, but Johnson powers out. Bononi tags in, Avalon holds ropes and Bononi BLINDSIDES Johnson! Bononi looms over Johnson, stays between him and Cody, and then taunts him. Bononi drags Johnson up and over, tags in Avalon, and they mug Johnson.

Avalon drags Johnson up, wrenches and whips corner to corner, but Johnsong goes up and over to come back, waistlock and shove, to then hurdle and dropkick! Fans fire up for Johnson but Avalon scrambles to tag Bononi! Johnson is ready this time and he dodges Bononi to drop, hurdle, but Bononi fakes him out to lift him up! Johnson fights out of the bomb to jawbreaker! Tag to Cody and he throws clotheslines! Bononi stays up, Cody keeps hitting him, then dodges to LEAPING LARIAT! Bononi staggers up, fans fire up and Cody runs in to whip. Bononi reverses, pump handles, and lifts Cody for a FALL AWAY SLAM!

Fans fire up as Bononi roars and stomps Cody down! AEW goes picture in picture as Bononi stomps Cody at the ropes!

The ref counts, Bononi stops at 4 and then tags Avalon. They mug Cody, Avalon has Cody in the corner and throws haymakers. Avalon follows Cody to another corner, CHOPS him, then CHOPS him again! Cody just gets annoyed but Avalon kicks his legs out! Tag to Bononi and they mug Cody again. Bononi drags Cody up, puts him in the corner and CHOPS him! Bononi throws a big knee and Cody flounders around. Bononi brings Cody up, tags in Avalon, and Bononi INVERTED SLAMS Cody down! Camel clutch and basement dropkick combo! Cover, TWO! Avalon drags Cody away from Johnson, snapmares him and wraps on a chinlock.

Cody endures as fans rally up and Avalon leans on the hold. Cody fights up, but Avalon throws him down! Avalon scowls, drags Cody back up and wraps on another chinlock as AEW goes to break.

AEW returns and Avalon wrenches Cody in the corner. Avalon whips him corner to corner, then sucker punches Johnson! Avalon runs in at Cody but is put on the apron! Avalon springboards in but Cody catches him! Cody uses that power to pop Avalon up for a fireman’s carry, GUTBUSTER RACK! But it’s double-edged as Cody’s shoulder bothers him there! Avalon and Cody both sit up, but Cody hot tags to Johnson! Johnson rallies on Avalon, then spins to elbow and neckbreaker! Bononi gets in as Jonson kips up, but Johnson dumps Bononi right out! Johnson builds speed to FLY! TORNILLO TOPE!!

Johnson gets back in, aims at Avalon and enziguris! Springboard, but Avalon gets under. Johnson mule kicks, reels Avalon in, fisherman USHIGOROSHI!! Cover, Bononi breaks it! Cody goes after Bononi, kick and Rhodes Uppercut! Bononi reverses the whip to throw Cody out hard, then he whips Johnson into ropes hard! BIG FLAPJACK! Avalon hurries but Cody drags Bononi out! Cody brawls with Bononi, Johnson avoids Marti-Knees and rolls Avalon up! Johnson and Cody win!!

Winners: Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson, by pinfall

Big Shotty has his first AEW win ever!! Arn tells him that’s the way to do it, and the rest of the Nightmare Family comes out to celebrate with him! Tony Schiavone also goes to interview Johnson and the team, of course asking that while this is emotional, this is big for him. Johnson says he wishes so much he had a world of words for us but he doesn’t. A year of losing, 0-29 in 2020. But his trainers, Cody, Dustin, Arn and Brandi all showed Johnson that if you do the work, it always pays off! The Rhodes Family is Johnson’s family, and they and they alone did this for him. The Nightmare Family celebrates with Johnson again, but is this just the beginning of big things for Big Shotty?

Backstage interview with The Young Bucks.

Dasha talks with the AEW World Tag Team Champions about last week’s Tag Team Battle Royal. #Y2MJF won and are their challengers for Revolution, but what happened that the champions were eliminated so early? Nick Jackson says to just ask these guys. Because here come the Good Brothers, Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson! Anderson says, “How about those numbers last week, boys? 844,000 to what?” Gallows says “a measly little 610!” The Good Brothers did that! They’re taking credit for AEW winning the ratings war, it seems. But the Bucks want to talk about the Good Brothers showing up at the Tag Team Battle Royal.

Well Anderson Too Sweet’d Tony Khan so- No, we need to address the problem. Gallows & Anderson interrupted Nick against Private Party, Nick gets all distracted and boo, eliminated. Matt Jackson says the “idiots” forgot that if the Bucks had won, they could’ve chosen anyone to face them for the AEW tag titles! And that anyone would’ve been them! Good Brothers VS Young Bucks at Revolution, a true dream match! Anderson apologizes, but the Good Brothers were just trying to distract “Private Sharty” because of the coming match at Impact Wrestling’s No Surrender, this Saturday, 2/13/21. They didn’t mean to mess up the Bucks.

But who is the real heat with? The Inner Circle, Santana and Ortiz, who eliminated Matt! Right! And then MJF and Jericho, doing the Bucks’ pose?! The very pose that built their “big ass networth” and mansion! True, Matt is fired up about that. Maybe Matt and Nick shouldn’t wait until Revolution. What if it was next week? Santana and Ortiz are a top ranked team, so this can happen! Bucks VS Proud ‘n’ Powerful for the titles! Good Brothers like that. Ratings monsters right here! Too Sweet it! Matt isn’t so sure, that’s more of a private thing. Sting is like right there, in view of it, it’s awkward. Nick Too Sweets. Stinger, you want in on this? Well, for now, a plan has been made! Will the Bucks get even with PNP before taking on Y2MJF? Or will there be an Inner Circle Civil War after all?

Backstage interview with Hangman Page.

Dasha asks him about teaming up victoriously with Matt Hardy and if that will become a regular thing. Hangman says no, not at all. But Matt Hardy comes over to say he gets it. Hangman doesn’t want to be in a team, but what they had last week was special. They’re special. At least let Hardy treat him to an overdue celebration. He already rented a place out, drinks all night, all on Hardy. Is Hangman in? Well, putting it that way, yeah! Hangman will get his stuff real quick. But then Hangman bumps into the Dark Order. Literally all of them.

It’s a bit awkward though as John Silver explains they were just going this way and Hangman tries to say he’s hanging out with Hardy. Dark Order’s fine with that, they’ll see Hangman on the flipside. Silver, shut up, that’s so dumb! Hangman heads out, will he change his mind about teaming with “Big Money Matt” after a night out? Will Dark Order be able to move on from what could have been?

PAC w/ Rey Fenix VS Ryan Nemeth!

The Bastard is still in a bad mood- Well, no he’s always in a bad mood. He is still in a foul mood after that Beach Break defeat at the hands of the Biz Cliz! Will he look to take it out on the Hollywood Hunk tonight?

The bell rings and Pac just stares at Nemeth. Nemeth and Pac circle, approach, and feel out a grapple. Pac kicks out a leg then stomps Nemeth down! Fans chant, “PAC is gonna kill~ you~” as Pac drags Nemeth up. Pac snap suplexes hard, then just watches Nemeth slowly get up. Nemeth goes to a corner, Pac runs in and back elbows him down! Nemeth flounders again, Pac goes up and watches like a hawk! Pac leaps to missile dropkick! And then kip right up! Pac looms over Nemeth, drags him up by his hair, then gets right in his face. Nemeth shoves Pac away to ROCK him with a forearm! Pac scowls and back kicks, front kicks and back kicks again! Pac runs to DROPKICK Nemeth down!

Nemeth goes out to the apron and then flops to the floor. Pac stalks Nemeth from the apron, then hops down to follow him. Pac puts Nemeth back in as the fans fire up, and Pac steps in, but into Nemeth’s dropkick! Nemeth hops up to SATELLITE DDT! Nemeth hurries but Pac rolls out of the ring! Fenix checks on Nemeth, Nemeth hurries after Pac, but Pac kicks and throws Nemeth into railing! Nemeth is half in and half out, Pac scowls and drags Nemeth back to the ring. Pac stalks Nemeth, stomps Nemeth over and over in the corner, and fans are rabid as he looms over Nemeth.

The Hollywood Hunk might be out, but Pac shows no mercy! He drags Nemeth to a drop zone, climbs up, and hits BLACK ARROW! To the BRUTALIZER!! Nemeth taps, Pac wins!

Winner: PAC, by submission

Pac won’t let go until Nemeth passes out a second time! Fenix stands alongside The Bastard, will they be able to avenge Pentagon against the Good Brothers?

Miro and the Superbad Couple look back on last week.

The Best Man says he had the perfect opportunity to be there with the beautiful bride and the handsome groom for the Beach Break wedding, only for things to be ruined by “that gutless bastard,” Chuck Taylor, who Miro (supposedly) took under his wing and treated like a brother! Chuck cuffed Miro, mugged Kip and ruined the cake. But Miro says it isn’t Chuck, it’s that Orange Cassidy being a bad influence! Miro will take Cassidy and put him in the hospital, next to Trent! Then those three can celebrate their stupidity together, because no one messes with Kip, Penelope or Miro!

Chuck and Cassidy respond.

“I mean… What did they think was gonna happen?” Of course Cassidy was gonna pop out of a cake. Cheers! But will the Best Friends not be able to toast to their health after The Best Man gets his hands on them?

Backstage interview with The Inner Circle!

Well, it’s really just Jericho, Wardlow and Hager right now. Jericho says not to worry, surely MJF will be out here. MJF is just warming up because that is what contenders do. But then Santana and Ortiz come by to report that MJF is in the trainer’s room. MJF hobbles over with rib tape and asks if Jericho saw what happened. Sammy sucker punched MJF in the ribs like an animal! What?! Sammy might’ve broken one of MJF’s ribs! Well where is Sammy? Like they’re supposed to know! Jericho says they have to focus on the match first, worry about Sammy later. The music hits, and Y2MJF has no choice but to go on!

The Acclaimed VS Y2MJF w/ The Inner Circle!

This battle comes about because A) Max Caster and Anthony Bowens overlapped their entrance with the Inner Circle’s, and B) Caster eliminated MJF, which almost cost MJF and Jericho their shot at the tag titles. It’s been a war of words, and that’ll continue again with Caster’s diss rap, but will Jericho and a battered MJF be able to win the match?

Fans sing Judas for Jericho but then The Acclaimed drop the beat! “Acclaimed make you stupid! Cut your lights off like we cut off Judas! Sorry, Chris, you suck like a mosquito. I hope your bones ain’t as fragile as your ego. Last week, I threw Max out the battle royal, caught him slippin’ cuz of all that baby oil! I should get a shot at the Diamond Ring, unless you wanna be my Sunshine and sing.” AEW, the Acclaimed have arrived! Will with they go up from 4th rank to 3rd or back down to 5?

The teams sort out, Caster starts against MJF to rekindle a Max VS Max feud that apparently goes back years. MJF and Caster circle, Bowens swipes at MJF but MJF hits back! Caster and MJF tie up, but the ribs hurt and MJF has to bail out. Jericho checks on MJF as fans boo. Caster flexes, kisses his muscles then waits on MJF. MJF walks off the pain, gets back in the ring, but tags Jericho. Jericho runs but Caster kicks low and throws forearms! Caster whips, Jericho reverses but Caster knocks Jericho down with a flying shoulder! Caster kips up, whips Jericho to the corner, then tags in Bowens. The Acclaimed coordinate, Caster whips Jericho into Bowen’s enziguri!

Caster lifts Jericho for a BIG back suplex, then Bowens hits a slingshot elbow drop! Cover, TWO! The 5 Tool Player taunts Jericho, throws elbows and forearms over and over, then whips him to ropes. Jericho holds ropes, boots Bowens away then tags MJF. MJF runs in but swings into a swinging SLAM! Cover, TWO!! MJF survives but Bowens stays between him and Jericho. Bowens drags MJF, tags in Caster, and they mug MJF, making sure to hit the ribs. MJF grits his teeth but Caster drags him back. MJF rakes Caster’s eyes, puts him in the corner, and digs his palms in. The ref backs MJF off but Jericho rakes Caster’s eyes!

Tag to Jericho, and Y2MJF throw elbows and bump Caster off buckles. MJF rakes Caster’s back, then both he and Jericho stomp a mudhole in! MJF digs his boots in, lets off and exits, but Jericho tags MJF back in. Y2MJF double whip, then double FLAPJACK Caster down! They both step on Caster then soak up the heat. MJF and Jericho high-five as fans rally up and AEW goes picture in picture.

MJF stomps Caster, stalks him to a corner, and digs his forearm into Caster’s face! The ref counts, MJF stops, and MJF snapmares to KNEE Caster in the back! MJF wraps on a chinlock and Caster endures. Caster fights up, throws elbows into the bad ribs and gets free! Caster staggers for his corner but MJF throws him down by his hair first! MJF DECKS Bowens for good measure, then goes up the corner. MJF leaps, but Caster hits him with a body shot! MJF tumbles but tags Jericho in, and Jericho CLOBBERS Caster! Jericho drags Caster up to back suplex high and hard, then has the cocky cover. TWO, but Jericho drags Cater up to throw him out.

The ref argues with Jericho and that leaves the rest of the Inner Circle open to stomp away on Caster! MJF puts Caster in for Jericho to bring him up. Jericho takes his time, Caster blocks the suplex, and then Caster suplexes Jericho in return! Both men are down, fans rally up, and Jericho tags in MJF! MJF elbows Caster down, gets a shot in on Bowens, then stomps Caster. MJF taunts Caster to tag Bowens, shouts in his face and pushes him around, then soaks up the heat. Caster gets up, MJF is right on him with a cobra twist! Caster endures, Jericho reaches out, and he helps MJF with the leverage as AEW returns to single picture!

The ref checks, Jericho lets go and MJF still has the hold. Jericho and MJF link up to pull on Caster again, but again get away with it before the ref sees! They try a third time, the ref sees it this time, and instead of reprimanding, Aubrey just kicks MJF’s arm! Caster turns things around to put MJF in the cobra twist! Now MJF suffers, but he turns it around, only for Caster to hip toss him away! Fans fire up, both men crawl, hot tags to Jericho and Bowens! Bowens dodges then rallies on Jericho with big shoulders! Bowens fires off on MJF and Jericho with big haymakers and CHOPS! Bowens DECKS MJF, whips Jericho but Jericho reverses! Bowens slings around Jericho to whip again, and dropkicks him down!

Fans fire up for Bowens as he scoops MJF to a torture rack! Swinging SLAM! Ortiz gets on the apron to distract but Bowens DECKS him! Jericho aims and throat chops Bowens down! Jericho runs to ropes, but Caster uses the BOOMBOX to knock him down! Bowens covers, TWO!?!? Jericho survives and Bowens can’t believe it! “This is Awesome!” but not done yet! Bowens drags Jericho up, CHOPS him, then hits the 5 Tool SIDE EFFECT! Tag to Caster, he climbs up and Bowens PLANCHAS out, only to miss! MJF and the Inner Circle let Bowens hit the floor, and the ref is busy with that, allowing Hager to SHOVE Cater off the corner! JUDAS EFFECT!! Cover, Y2MJF wins!!

Winners: Y2MJF, by pinfall

The Number 1 contenders win, mostly because they had everyone else helping them! Is this how they’ll have to win against The Young Bucks?

Wait, Sammy Guevara makes his own entrance now! He has a mic and he goes down to the ring to join the others. MJF hides behind Jericho for his own safety, and Jericho asks Sammy what’s going on. Sammy comes out late, he’s hitting MJF, smashing phones, what’s the problem? Sammy says he told you so. 12/9/2020, if one more thing happened with MJF, Sammy was done. Sammy is here to tell Jericho in person, he’s done. Jericho asks what Sammy means by that. Sammy says he’s done, and QUITS the Inner Circle!! Fans are fired up for Sammy as he leaves the group. The rest of the Inner Circle is shocked, but who is really to blame for this happening?

AEW returns and Alex Marvez tries to interview Sammy.

Sammy tells Marvez that his reasons for leaving don’t really matter, he’s just over this. Sammy is going to refocus with time away. When will we see the Spanish God return to AEW?

AEW Media finds Hangman and Hardy at the bar.

Hangman tells Hardy a story, and the punchline is, “It urns out it was Clinton Houston the whole time.” Hilarious! Hardy is still buzzing from that win last. Not buzzing like Hangman is, though, he is putting them away. Cheers. Hardy doesn’t drink his, he dumps it out and then just pretends! Well this was a great time and Hardy knows Hangman doesn’t want to be a tag team guy, but Hardy could at least make Hangman the number one wrestler in the entire industry. Hangman could dominate AEW and become richer than his wildest dreams! They have such great chemistry!

So if Hangman would just consider this deal, Hardy could make Hangman millions upon millions of dollars! And for the small, small percentage of 30%, because when you’re making multi-millions, what does it matter? Hangman is starting to agree with Hardy! Hardy hands him a pen and then whispers to the cameraman is that they’re here to document this so there’s prove. But what Hardy is missing is that Hangman just pulled a fast one on Hardy! He threw away the contract to bring out a document of his own! Hangman signs and hands Hardy it to sign his own part. Hardy will take care of all this, and promises Hangman he’ll be a BILLIONAIRE! Wow, really?

Hardy thanks Hardy, hopes he enjoys the rest of the night, and heads out. Yeah, sure! See you, Matt! Hangman asks for another round. Will Hardy be the one to regret this in the morning?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

And with the Street Fight signed, sealed and delivered, it’s STIIIIING~! The snow, the crow and the Icon! Sting walks out on stage to talk about the coming match. What is on his mind going up against Team Taz? But before Sting can say anything, Team Taz interrupts on titantron! Taz says hey, and hopes Sting remembers Powerhouse Will Hobbs. But anyway, Team Taz has a little road trip in mind. They’re even bringing a special guest along and they’re going to go to FTW World! Starks and Cage have Darby!! They put him in a body bag and then attach him to the back of the van! The van is towing Darby through the parking lot!! Sting hurries to stop this, but is he already too late?

AEW shares Alex Marvez finding Kenny Omega… on the golf course?

Marvez calls over to Omega right before he’s swinging out of the sand trap. Omega asks if that’s who he thinks it is: Marvez, on the golf course. Well, no talkie while he golfie, okay? Stand back and watch this. Omega smacks the ball out of the sand and onto the green! Now talk. Marvez asks what Omega is doing out here when later tonight, he has a No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere, UNSANCTIONED tag match with Archer and Moxley! And his tag partner, Kenta, probably doesn’t even like him! Shouldn’t Omega be preparing for the match instead of playing golf?

Omega clarifies something for Marvez. “We’re talking about professional wrestling, right? We’re talking about the thing that I’ve already been proven as being the best of all time in. I’ve got the resume to prove it!” So what does Marvez expect Omega to be doing? Huddling around a TV screen with Don Callis studying film on his opponents, or even on his partner? No! Omega is here, at one with nature, clearing his mind and preparing spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Omega has forgotten what it’s like to lose. And just like the last 15 matches he’s had in AEW, Omega won’t lose tonight. He also won’t miss. Just like he did this golf shot. Right, Don?

Uh, yeah! Don totally didn’t sneak a different golf ball into the hole while everyone was looking at Omega! See? What did Omega tell us? He’ll put on a show tonight, so just sit back and enjoy. Until then, good-bye mwah, and good night, wow another Eagle, huh? Souvenir for Marvez since it’ll be worth something one day. Don’s pretty sure Marvez will just sell it on his MySpace page. MySpace…? Can Marvez get a ride back? PFFT!!

AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament: Leyla Hirsch VS Thunder Rosa!

The opening round of this international tournament begins, and the US side of the bracket has a #LEGIT starter! Will Leyla be too legit for a former NWA Women’s Champion? But Rosa has three big goals in AEW: take the AEW title from Shida; take back the NWA title from Serena Deeb; and take revenge on Britt Baker and her “big ass nose!” Will the first step to those goals start here?

The bell rings, Rosa and Leyla circle, then tie up. They go around, Rosa waistlocks but Leyla switches. Leyla drags Rosa down, Rosa switches back but Leyla scoots to shift and switch again. Leyla messes up Rosa’s hair a bit, Rosa gets annoyed, and Rosa gets up to wrench and mess up Leyla’s hair. These two reset, circle and tie up, and have a test of strength. AEW shares Tony Schiavone’s sit-down interview with Jungle Boy.

It was just last week, FTR was suspended from the Tag Team Battle Royal because of what they did to Jurassic Express the week before. In response, they kidnapped Marko Stunt! Stunt was released and is okay, but JB wants to speak. JB talks to FTR. JB and Dax had a match everyone is talking about, and both men have had a lot of matches. JB was never in a fight like that. Dax slapped JB so hard he had to put his hands on the ground to steady himself. But the important thing was that JB came out on top and came out a different man. JB made Dax tap in front of the whole world.

So no, Jurassic Express didn’t tattle on FTR. They didn’t want FTR suspended and removed from the battle royal. They wanted FTR here to look them in the eyes. When they get that opportunity, JB vows to make FTR his bitch! Will Jurassic Express get their revenge on FTR?

Speaking of FTR…

Next week, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler return to tag team action as Matt Sydal is going to be joined by MIKE Sydal! Will the Sydal Brothers come to #FearTheRevelation in their Dynamite tag debut?

More is in store for next week’s Dynamite!

After Hangman signed Hardy’s contract, or at least that’s what Hardy thinks, Hangman is joining #HardyParty against the combination of The Hybrid2 and Chaos Project! Will this be the beginning of the billion dollar venture Big Money Matt spoke of? And after seeing what Team Taz did to Darby, Sting looks to call them all out! Will Sting be in over his head against Taz, Starks, Cage, Hobbs and Hook? Then, in another Women’s World Title Eliminator match, Serena Deeb and Riho go 1v1 for a spot in the All Elite 8! And as the Bucks declared, they will defend their AEW World Tag Team Championships against Santana & Ortiz ahead of Revolution!

An already wild night has a main event that will bring things right off the rails! The Fang Revived has his chance to sink his teeth into the Maniac IWGP US Champion for NJPW’s New Beginnings, but will he and the Cleaner get along given the storied history of the Bullet Club and The Elite? Or will the Murderhawk Monster and Death Rider leave lasting impressions on their familiar foes?

But first, “The man who is undefeated in singles matches for 529 days; the very first and some would say greatest IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. His 38 AEW victories are more than anyone else on the roster. Overall, he has won 10 straight matches spanning across three different wrestling organizations. His pinfall over Jon Moxley, the only pinfall on Jon Moxley, was voted the Biggest WTF Moment in the Bleacher Report 2020 Awards. His biggest WTF moment coincidentally took place in a Wild Wing Cafe in NOOORTH CAROLINA~! He hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and weighs 224 pounds. Moxley drags Kenta towards the bleachers and bumps him off railings! They brawl up the steps as fans are thunderous!

Moxley and Kenta go to the higher level and leave things behind! Omega realizes this as he rises from the bed. Archer pursues Moxley and Kenta so Omega pursues them. This is going to the backstage area, and Kenta bumps Moxley off a vending machine! Cover, TWO! Moxley throws body shots, CLUBS Kenta, but Kenta hits back. Moxley bumps Kenta off carts and trunks, and “This is Awesome!” as Moxley sets Kenta on a table. Moxley climbs up, brings Kenta up, but Kenta blocks the lift! Kenta throws body shots, and then a DDT!! The steel is not forgiving! Kenta drags Moxley into the omoplata, and the GAME OVER CROSSFACE! But Archer BASHES Kenta with… a box of potatoes?!

Archer clubs away on Kenta, but Omega clubs Archer! Omega shoves Archer into a shelf unit, then SMACKS him with a trash barrel! Moxley CLUBS Omega, boots him down, then throws spuds at him! Even in a match with no rules and no restrictions, The Cleaner needed help from his friends! The “forbidden door” is open, Biz Cliz wins together, but will they be able to maintain this momentum?

My Thoughts:

A truly wild episode, amazing stuff. Things opened strong with that TNT Championship, but that’s about the one thing where the story with Darby and everyone else shined. Darby gets kidnapped and put in a body bag to be dragged behind a van, Sting “hurried” out at only a fast walk, and now he’s going to call Team Taz out next week? I’m not sure this story is coming off how they hoped, because it’s getting a bit repetitive and ridiculous. Pac got a good squash match win, and I suppose it was alright that there was no Eddie Kingston and The Fam tonight. This already ended up being a packed night so let story develop next week or even on Dark, which Dark should be doing more of anyway.

For instance, the story of Lee Johnson and Peter Avalon, and honestly both their stories independently, were all built through the constant losses on Dark. So Johnson finally getting the in-ring win on Avalon, and just a win at all, was made big for Dynamite only because of Dark. I hope the look QT had when Johnson didn’t mention him in the list of trainers leads to something, but maybe not for a long time. I just said on the Dark article how QT, Dustin Rhodes and Nick Comoroto are making a great combination, I would hope there isn’t a Nightmare Family defection just yet. Maybe after Trios Championships are introduced, then we can have things fall apart.

The story with the Inner Circle took an interesting twist on where I certainly expected it. Sammy quitting rather than being thrown out is actually good continuity because Sammy did make that ultimatum as 2020 closed. Santana & Ortiz getting a tag title shot before Y2MJF should also be a point of tension. There should be concern that if Proud ‘n’ Powerful win next week, then there’s A) no way Y2MJF wins at Revolution, and B) it’s just more in-fighting that they don’t want. I wonder if instead of Sammy and Jericho being the only ones united against MJF and the Inner Circle, MJF and Jericho end up driving everyone else away.

We got strong story developments for FTR and Jurassic Express as well as the Hangman Hardy Dark Order relationships. JB is getting gritty, and I bet the tag rematch is going to be just as physical as that singles match. Hangman pulling a fast one on Hardy is going to be a great little reveal. Who knows what fine print Hangman put in his version of the contract. The awkward interaction with the Dark Order was perfectly executed, and the 8 Man Tag announced for next week is going to be a lot of fun. Rosa VS Leyla was really good but naturally Rosa wins because there is a way for her to face Britt Baker down the line, as well as Serena Deeb. The bracket looks good and I’ll definitely have to be ready on Monday (or Tuesday) for the Japan bracket opening round of the Stardom stars that have worked with AEW in the past.

The main event had great promos leading into it, such as the golf comedy with Omega and Callis, as well as Moxley setting out the plan for himself and Kenta. The match itself was incredible, definitely on the level of not just a No Holds Barred Falls Count Anywhere but also of a match involving the four men in it. I am still really enjoying the long and ever-changing list of accomplishments in Omega’s entrance, and it even works that the Good Brothers interfered because of how they’re making Omega this puffed up Heel who is great but not as great as he thinks.

If Bucks make it through Revolution and I would think Good Brothers make it through Private Party and whatever other teams, I am hoping those two teams meet at say Double or Nothing. The name even fits because it could be Winners Take All, both companies’ belts are on the line. Moxley VS Kenta can go either way since it’ll be happening on a NJPW show and Moxley isn’t shut out from being in NJPW. As for Omega, I am pretty sure this makes Archer his next AEW challenger, which is great because Archer has made the turn from Heel to Face without actually changing who he is, just who he targets.

My Score: 9.5/10

Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood are always high off their own egos, but those egos cost them as they tried to rip Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier for their extracurricular activities. As FTR goes up the ramp, MARK BRISCOE appears! The fans cheer as the Sussex County Chicken is here, planning on joining commentary for what’s next. Briscoe shows respect to his old rivals, and FTR continues on their way out. Will Briscoe have a good time watching The Psycho Killer and Red Death battle it out?

Hook and Shibata commandeer another camera.

The Opps are in Tucson, and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil says they’re recruiting. Just not whoever this rando is, laters. But then Anthony Bowens calls out to Hook. Bowens steps in and says he thought hard on what Hook said last week. Bowens has come to the conclusion that he can be a killer in the ring. All Hook has to do is let him show you. Yeah? Hell yeah! So Bowens wants to show him? Grab the camera from Shibata. W-What does that mean? Hook says trust him, take the camera. Bowens indeed takes the camera and Shibata now walks with Hook. Hook asks another rando if he’s a wrestler. The guy says yeah.

Hook asks if the guy wants to be in Opps. Well, sure! Then quick test, how do you get out of this? REDRUM! The guy cannot escape, and the poor guy is out like a light. Oh, c-cool, can Bowens give the camera back to Shibata now or…? Hook says nah, just keep following them. Is the Pride of Professional Wrestling going to be alright selling out just to get in The Opps?

Tommaso Ciampa VS Daniel Garcia!

The Sicilian Psycho wants after Kyle Fletcher and that TNT Championship, but the same can be said for the Dragonslayer. These former TNT Champions battle it out, who will take one step closer to The Protostar?

AEW shares footage from after Dynamite on Wednesday.

Kris Statlander sat in a stairwell of the Don Haskins Center in El Paso as she said, “I will only speak when I need to, and now I need to. Thekla. I have beaten you once. You have beaten me once. But once is not enough. Revolution. Two out of three falls. Your killing is coming, twice.” The Galaxy’s Greatest is prepared for war, but will she be able to win again, and again?

Thekla is here!

Collision returns as The Toxic Spider heads to the ring, and she’s already saying, “No no no no no no! NO~! No, no no no no no! Kris, not right now, no! I’m sorry, no! Niet! Nine! No! Absolulululutely not!” The fans boo but Thekla continues by saying, “I’m sorry. Did I miss a meeting or something? Since when does the challenger get to say what the match is, huh? Since when do I have to listen to some b*tch from outer space?” The fans boo but Thekla continues to say no, she doesn’t care, she’s not doing Two Out of Three Falls. And if you don’t like it, then kiss her toxic ass! The fans do cheer that, though.

Thekla says actually… Y’know what? “WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?” Thekla asks Kris what makes her thinks she can even beat Thekla twice in one night? What makes Kris think Thekla won’t absolutely ruin Kris’ life all over again? Kris wears sunglasses indoors now, because she can’t look Thekla in the eyes! She wears all leather now, because she wants to be like Thekla! But… But, but, but Kris, you’re right about one thing. Thunder Rrrrosa should’ve just listened to you. Because Thekla sent that perra back in a box to the graveyards of Tijuana! So, Kris, why don’t you take your own advice and quit while you’re still alive?

Because everything Kris is afraid of is EVERYTHING THEKLA IS! The Toxic Spider laughs as she hangs from the corner, but the match is now made! Thekla and Kris will battle in Best Out of 3! Who proves they can truly get the job done?

Backstage interview with JetSpeed.

Lexy Nair is with Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and notes that it was a rough week. Kevin Knight had not just one but two title matches on Wednesday, how is he recovering? Knight says that was one of the hardest nights in his career, because he was within inches of becoming a NEW AEW World Champion. For 13 seconds, MJF was looking up at The Jet. Jet knows there will be other opportunities for him in the future. He just can’t help but feel like he let his team down when he lost the AEW World Trios Championships for them. Speedball says no, they lost as a team. And while they appreciate Hangman’s help, Hangman’s situation with MJF did complicate things.

But it’s all good, because at Revolution, JetSpeed gets to team with lucha libre legend, MISTICO! They will take back those trios titles from the Don Callis Family! Speaking of title matches, Bailey gets his shot at the TNT Championship this Wednesday, is Bailey prepared for that? Bailey says he doesn’t feel prepared, he IS prepared. He knows he has what it takes to hold two titles, and he knows what it takes to beat Kyle Fletcher. He’s done it before, he can do it again! Bailey vows to take the pretty in pink title from The Protostar! But now Swerve & Nana step into the room. Nana suggests Lexy takes a break before someone gets hurt.

Lexy excuses herself, and Swerve asks if Bailey knows what it takes, then why doesn’t Knight? Because every time Knight has his foot on the neck of his opponent, he never applies pressure. Let this be the last piece of advice Swerve ever gives Knight: If Knight wants to walk amongst killers, if he wants to compete with killers, he has to become a killer. Swerve & Nana head out but JetSpeed doesn’t get Swerve’s beef. But will Bailey be bringing “Pinkie” with him to Los Angeles when they and the face of CMLL battle Okada, Fletcher & Davis?

Mark Briscoe speaks.

The Chicken has recovered backstage, and he says,” Tommaso Ciampa, man, I done known you for a long time now. And I got to be honest with you, man, ever since you been here in AEW, something ain’t felt right. Something’s felt off, man. That is until tonight, when you did what you did. You back-jumped me. That’s the Tommaso that I was expecting. That’s the Tommaso that I remember. Y’know, shame on me for not trusting my instincts. Shame on me for letting my guard down. But Tommaso, dammit, shame on you for back-jumping me like a coward. Shame on you for aligning yourself with these two men who I used to have the utmost respect for, FTR.

“But now they just some bastards! People will call FTR, me and my brother, The Briscoe brothers, unapologetically, the baddest tag teams of all time. They would call FTR our greatest rivals! So now, Tommaso, you done aligned yourself with these fellas. How do we make this work out mathematically? That brings to mind some of the other greatest rivals of me and my brother’s. There’s a couple other fellas I just got off to phone with just a minute ago, matter o’ fact. We been talkin’ ’bout it, we decided, why don’t we just do this Wednesday night? Why don’t we just do this on Dynamite? Trios action, baby! Let’s do FTR & Tommaso Ciampa VS… DEM BUCKS!”

The Chicken and the Jacksons have common enemies now, so why not just destroy them all together at once? But will Briscoe & The Bucks stampede all over San Jose? Or will Ciampa & FTR make sure no one will survive?

And she is angrily repeating, “Enough! Enough! Enough!” The fans cheer Toni as she calls out Marina! “All you do is talk about competition. So why is it that the only one with the set of ovaries who is willing to fight alone is Jon bloody Moxley?! Marina, we are going to Hollywood land, and this is what I want! Everyone, EVERYONE, banned from ringside! Just you, and me, and nobody to stop us!” The fans cheer that! “And then I want my AEW Women’s World Championship back!” The fans like that, too! Toni says, “Chin up, tits out, and I’ll see and ONLY you (Marina) at Revolution!” The fans are ready, but is The Problem about to be solved?

There’s a NEW CMLL Women’s World Champion!

The Money Train is starting to lose its cargo, will Mone be able to keep what little she has left? And as for Persephone, she’s getting a shot at the TBS Championship this Wednesday in San Jose! Will Perse be adding to her collection? Or can Willow make sure she’s the only double champion around here?

Konosuke Takeshita VS Claudio Castagnoli!

It was back in December during the Continental Classic that the then IWGP World Heavyweight Champion battled the CMLL World Heavyweight Champion to a time limit draw! The Alpha may not be a world champion, but he’s the NEW NJPW World (as in the website) Television Champion, meaning he knows how to win in under 15 minutes. With Revolution on the horizon, can Konosuke also prove he can defeat Moxley’s right hand man? Or will the Swiss Cyborg terminate Takeshita before he gets the chance?

The bell rings, the two circle, and the fans rally up. The two tie up, are in a deadlock, and Konosuke clinches, Claudio wrenches to then wrangle Konosuke to the mat. Claudio drags Konosuke up, whips him to the corner, then runs in, but into an ELBOW! Claudio comes back, but Konosuke BOOTS him! Konosuke goes up to FLYING RANA! Even Moxley is surprised seeing that. Konosuke has Claudio back on the apron, and he dribbles Claudio off buckles! Konosuke stops at five to then go to the other side and dribble Claudio off those buckles! Konosuke gets ten total, then he points at Moxley on commentary. Marina responds with a middle finger.

Konosuke drags Claudio up again, but Claudio SLAMS the bad arm off the buckle! Then he bends the arm against the crossbar! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Marina says to just break the arm! Claudio stops at 4, and he leans against the ropes while Konosuke falls away. Claudio is in control as Collision goes picture in picture.

Claudio storms into the ring and he brings Konosuke up by the bad arm. Konosuke fires shots with the good arm, but Claudio RAMS the bad arm! Claudio stomps Konosuke, brings him out to the apron, then SLAMS the arm on the apron! Konosuke writhes but then Claudio BOOTS him! Konosuke flounders on the apron but Claudio steps back inside the ring. Claudio soaks up heat before he stomps Konosuke again. Claudio stands on Konosuke but the ref counts because they’re in the ropes. Claudio snapmares Konosuke to center, then clamps onto the arm with a top wristlock. Konosuke endures while the fans rally up.

Konosuke fights up, fires body shots, but Claudio THROWS him down! Konosuke endures as Claudio again pushes on the arm. Winner: Konosuke Takeshita, by pinfall

Konosuke wins this heated rematch months in the making, and he makes sure Moxley understands what that means! Moxley steps to Konosuke, they both talk some trash, but then Hechi CLOBBERS Moxley! Konosuke stops Hechi from there, saying he doesn’t need it. Hechi asks if Konosuke is sure about that, and then Moxley fires back! Moxley fires forearms on Hechi, on Konosuke, then Claudio joins in! The brawl is 2v2, but then Konosuke sends Moxley into railing! Konosuke stomps a mudhole! Hechi and Claudio brawl on the other end, but refs rush out here! They try to stop this, but there’s no stopping Death Riders VS Don Callis Family!

Fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” and fighting is what happens! Collision has used up all the overrun, they gotta go off the air! But will this fighting go all the way to San Jose?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision here, though still with some clunky things going towards Revolution. Awesome opening match with FTR VS Rascalz, but as I said on Dynamite, Rascalz weren’t winning, the Revolution match was going to stay FTR VS Bucks. Good segue from that to Ciampa VS Garcia with Briscoe on commentary, but the entire set-up for the turn seemed odd in retrospect. Why turn Ciampa so soon? Or did they just want an excuse to do the Six Man Tag for the go-home? The Six Man Tag will still be great, and Ciampa VS Briscoe as a feud will still be great, but it feels like another pacing problem from Tony Khan.

Something else that was clunky tonight was how we got to #MegaKross VS Love Bombs. The promo where Megan & Lena attack Willow & Harley was half-baked. Why could we hear security like just off to the side if they weren’t going to get in there for like a good minute? I get with EVE Wrestling holding Wrestling Queendom right now, Willow & Harley could only stay for a moment before they go right back to the UK. But they could’ve still figured out better framing on this promo. I suppose that’s what “long term booking” would entail, or TK having others helping manage this stuff. Definitely the latter.

As for Megan & Lena VS Love Bombs, that was a very good match for the first time Megan & Lena teamed on TV. I should’ve expected Marina would interfere, and we got a good promo from Toni to follow. Toni VS Marina will be great stuff, and as Toni said herself, this could propel her back to the world title. Or on the flipside, it’ll send Marina after that title. It all depends on how the world title match goes. Kris had a good promo to issue the challenge, and Thekla had a good promo in response, but it seems silly that Thekla first says no, but then convinces herself that she should say yes. Either way, two outta three falls will be a great blowoff.

Swerve putting Gravity away pretty handedly was good, but I expected him to “go too far” at some point and bring out Brodido. We get a good promo from Swerve with JetSpeed, and the news of Mistico & JetSpeed VS Okada, Fletcher & Davis is great. That trios title match will be great, but I can’t be sure the odds of JetSpeed winning that. I wouldn’t mind if The Rascalz went after the trios titles afterward so that Myron Reed gets more in-ring time. As for Swerve’s words to Knight, I wonder if Knight leaves JetSpeed to join this new Embassy that Nana’s towels keep teasing. Knight could benefit from that change, allowing him to go for singles titles.

As I’ve said before, I’m not a fan of the kayfabe prize money matches, because they never add anything into kayfabe afterward. That said, this Fatal 4 Way tag was a great match, a great showing from all the teams, and a great win for Private Party. If any team is going to spend the kayfabe money, it’ll be Private Party so that they can throw a massive party. And that better be their promo for either next week’s Dynamite or even the go-home Collision. And depending on who wins the tag titles for Revolution, I would hope Private Party comes back around to challenge for those titles for Dynasty. Though with Private Party as Faces, feels like FTR will be that team…

The Dogs didn’t just get a great squash match, they annihilated those guys. If Darby & Cassidy are to take on The Dogs, they’re gonna need a third man. With Briscoe busy with Ciampa and Ishii out with a bad neck, either Roddy turns back to being Conglomeration after all, or Hologram is back from injury. I haven’t heard word about the latter, or even Kyle O’Reilly for that matter, so they mighty have no choice but to un-turn Roddy. Or they just keep at 2v2 and the odd Dog out is the cornerman that screws Darby & Cassidy over. But they still haven’t even let Finlay talk yet, so I think we need to hear from The Savage King so AEW-only fans understand why he’s a big deal.

Konosuke VS Claudio was an awesome main event, as we knew it would, because Claudio and Konosuke are on that level where they just don’t have bad matches. I did appreciate Hechi being the one to counter Claudio trying to cheat, that’s clearly a CMLL World Heavyweight Championship match in the making. Great win for Konosuke to have momentum going towards Revolution, and great brawl to close out the show like that. We might even get a tag match for the go-home out of this. Moxley VS Konosuke is still going to be awesome, who knows which way it goes.

My Score: 8.9/10

Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy VS The Dogs!

The Relentless One promised Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors, this doesn’t end with him six feet under, this ends with him putting them down! Freshly Squeezed joined the fight on behalf of Tomohiro Ishii, but will he and Darby put an end to the Mad Man & 100 Proof? Or will they not be as #WarReady as these Dogs?

Well, speaking of being ready, Darby & Cassidy don’t exactly wait for Gabe & Clark to get in the ring! Darby & Cassidy take the fight to them right at the ramp! The fans fire up but the ref reprimands as all four throw hands! Then Connors throws Cassidy into barriers! Gabe whips Darby into steel steps! Gabe talks more trash on the fans while Connors watches Cassidy crawling to ringside. Connors drags Cassidy up to whip him hard into railing! Connors soaks up heat while Cassidy writhes. Gabe stalks Darby to a corner, mocks the fans all cheering Darby on, then runs up to UPPERCUT Darby down! Gabe then digs his boots in, shouting and taunting Darby the whole time, then backs off as the ref counts 4.

Gabe argues with the ref, then waits on Darby to get up. Gabe gives Darby a junkyard dog headbutt! And then another! Cover, TWO! Darby toughs it out but Gabe tags Connors. Connors talks his time walking over to Darby, then stands him up to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Darby stays in this but Connors stays between him and the corner. Cassidy flounders over but Connors tells him to just stay down. Connors then stands on Darby’s head, but steps off as the ref counts. Gabe CHOKES Darby while Finlay struts around. Connors HAMMERS Cassidy, but Finlay tells them to get these boys back up. Connors & Gabe stand Darby up so Finlay can look him in the eyes. Then he CRACKS Darby with the shillelagh again! Will nothing stop The Dogs now that their pack leader is All Elite?

Backstage interview with Bandido and Andrade El Idolo.

Renee Paquette is with The Most Wanted and the Real Latino Man, and says BREAKING NEWS for Revolution! For the first-time-ever, we get Bandido VS Andrade! Renee asks Bandido want having this dream match means to him. Bandido says it means so much to him. He grew up watching Andrade in his hometown, so now, he gets to have Andrade as an opponent. March 15th, it will be a dream come true. Andrade tells Bandido that he hears Bandido is one of the best Mexican wrestlers alive! But what he’s seeing… This is just a fan! Does he want to fight? Or does he want a selfie? Maybe they can take one now.

Andrade takes out his phone, but it turns out someone is calling him. See you at Revolution. Andrade walks off to answer the call, but will he learn the hard way to take Bandido seriously?

The Brawling Birds VS The IInspiration!

Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor may not have started as teammates or even friends, but teaming up these past few weeks seems to have helped that. However, Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee have always been friends, they’ve always been iconic, and now they’re All Elite! Who will step up, step back, and step aside as these two teams collide?

The IInspiration tells production to keep the music going, they wanna groove to Harley Cameron singing it. The fans don’t mind it, but The Birds ain’t having it! Jamie & Alex storm in and SMACK The IInspiration off buckles! The fans are torn as Jamie HAMMERS Cassie and Alex fires hands on Jessie! The ref wants them to sort out but Jamie whips Cassie into Jessie, then The Birds DOUBLE CHOP! And DOUBLE CHOP again, and again! The fans fire up as The Birds wind it up, for a DOUBLE DOUBLE CHOP! Then they CATAPULT Jessie into the HAYTBREAKER! Then a feed to Alex’s LARIAT! Cassie storms up but into kicks!

The Birds DOUBLE SUPLEX Cassie away, and the fans cheer The Birds. The IInspiration regroups, they ask for a timeout, but they realize they’re surrounded! The Birds run in, DOUBLE LARIAT SANDWICH! Jessie falls, Alex picks Cassie up, and Hayter runs for the truest TWO BIRDS ONE STONE!! Double cover, The Birds win!

Winners: The Brawling Birds, by pinfall

The IInspiration might be All Elite, but they just realized what that means! The Birds made quite an impact tonight, will they be next in line for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships?

Hangman Page VS Marty Snow!

The Cowboy is already in a good mood after seeing MJF get kicked in the face. But good mood aside, will Snow not have a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning against him?

The bell rings and both men run up, only for Hangman to BOOT Snow down! Then Hangman goes right to the apron, slingshot and BUCKSHOT! Cover, HANGMAN WINS!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

Did that just set a record!? Hangman puts his jacket back on and grabs a mic to say, “Hey, look. I’ma make this short, cuz his ass ain’t the one I wanted to beat tonight. MAX! I have put my entire future at stake for the chance to do what your parents should’ve done nearly 30 years ago, and taught you a lesson. For years, you have sneered and you have scoffed at me for having what I think is a basic human conscience. But let me warn you: In Texas Death, I have no conscience! Max, I will rip you, I will tear you, and I will only let you lie when I am finished with you. And Max, you are the world champion, so surely, that doesn’t scare you.

“You’ve already shown that you are itching to punch someone in the head with your diamond ring, so why don’t you slip it back on your pinkie, get your dumbass out here now, and show me what good that will do you at Revolution!” The fans cheer that, but MJF says, “Alright, alright, pipe down, pipe down. It’s bad enough I gotta be in this C Tier town, El Paso. But clearly, clearly you’re not very bright, Hangman! Did you not just see me beat your boy, Kevin Knight’s ass? Huh? You all saw it, right? It’s bad enough I gotta listen to you yap next week at the press conference, don’t make me come down there and whoop your ass, too, Cowboy.”

The fans boo, but Hangman says if he’s not gonna do it, then- OH NO! Kyle Fletcher, Kazuchika Okada, and Mark Davis attack Hangman!! The fans boo but MJF gets to smile at Hangman’s pain now. Davis has an ANKLE LOCK on Hangman while Okada & Fletcher stomp away on Hangman! They get Hangman up, CHOKE him on the ropes, then Davis hits the REBOUNDER! The fans boo but Kyle mockingly asks if Hangman liked that. But here comes JetSpeed! Bailey & Knight run the Don Callis Family’s heavy hitters with chairs, but then the Jackal himself appears! Accompanied by Lance Archer, Callis has a mic in hand.

The fans cuss Callis out, but he says, “I have something important to say!” The fans boo, but Callis says he sees Jet Set Rodeo in the ring, and he sees three champions, but he also sees three greedy, entitled Millennial punks! It’s not enough that they have the trios titles, but Hangman wants the world title, Knight wants Okada’s International title, and Speedball, “you little French Canadian puke,” wants after the great Kyle Fletcher and his TNT title. How much is enough? One thing Callis hates is a greedy guy. All he’s heard is about what Jet Set Rodeo wants, but he wants us all to be quiet so he can talk. The fans just boo harder! Callis says be quiet so he can tell you what CALLIS wants!

Callis couldn’t help but hear on Collision last Saturday, what was the term they used? “Any place, any time.” Jet Set Rodeo said they’d defend those titles any place and any time. Well, he has a very important to announcement! See, when he heard that, he got to thinking. He just recently left a conversation with Tony Khan. So any place, any time? The place is EL PASO! The time is TONIGHT’S MAIN EVENT! The AEW World Trios Champions WILL defend those titles against Mark Davis, Kyle Fletcher & Kazuchika Okada! And after they beat Jet Set Rodeo, the trios titles will belong to DON BAH GAWD CALLIS!!

The fans boo, but the fight IS official! Knight is already banged up from losing to MJF, can he, Bailey & Hangman possibly survive Dunkzilla, Protostar & Rainmaker?

Sit-down interview with The Young Bucks and FTR.

Renee Paquette is already in the boardroom with Matt & Nick Jackson, Brandon Cutler helping film this, but they’re the only ones on time. How’re they feeling? Nick says he’s a bit beat up, but- Oh, now Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood & Stokely Hathaway arrive, #BigStoke still in his wheelchair. Stoke asks Renee to move over for him. Renee obliges though The Bucks take offense. Renee has everyone calm down, they already signed the No Physicality Agreement for this. Dax says he’s fine, it’s on The Bucks. The AEW World Tag Team Champions take their seats, and Dax says it’s wild to think about. The greatest tag teams of the 21st Century: The Briscoes, The Bucks, and FTR.

Now, FTR bested The Briscoes two-outta-three, and FTR are #DemBoys’ greatest rivals, so… Dax’s thought is, when they best The Bucks again at Revolution, FTR goes down as THE greatest tag team of the millennium! Cash points out that FTR are THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champions, but The Bucks are also THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champions, so Revolution will finally be chapter closed, book finished, only one will be the best. Nick says yeah, okay, we can go back and forth about accomplishments, but this time is a little different. And do they know why? Because FTR put their hands on the Jackson family!

FTR hit a piledriver on their brother! FTR pushed and shoved their parents! Cash claims self-defense, but Nick knows that’s crap. At Revolution, it won’t be only about winning the titles back, but about revenge for their family! Matt brings up how The Jackson Family was simply ringside when FTR did what they did. Matt’s kids, Nick’s kids, how they felt, it is taking The Bucks everything they have in their souls to not just reach across this desk and beat the living SH*T outta FTR! But it’s okay, it’s okay. They won’t do that now.

No, they’ll do that in Los Angeles at Revolution, in front of their family so they can see The Bucks destroy FTR and leave them in a puddle of piss and blood, when The Bucks take the titles for a record breaking fourth time! Cash says he hopes the family is there, too. Then FTR can teach them another lesson! Things get heated again, Renee has them calm down again, but Cash say The Bucks are clearly not mature enough to handle this rationally. FTR will show themselves out and remove themselves from this troubling situation. Dax says The Bucks are so lucky about the No Physicality Agreement. But uh, Cutler wasn’t part of it.

Dax DECKS Cutler!! The Bucks are angry again, but they check on Cutler. FTR keeps turning up the heat, but will they be the ones burned?

The Maniac is still set for his match with The Alpha in Los Angeles, and he already crossed CLØN off the list. Will Moxley do the same to The Alchemist? Or will Hechicero have just the right formula to turn opportunity into a golden ticket?

Hechi kicks low, UPPERCUTS, then follows Moxley back into the ring. Hechi clamps on a chinlock and squeezes tight. Moxley endures, pries at the hold, but Hechi traps an arm. Hechi pushes Moxley around, steps over the arm, and traps it for a STOMP! Moxley writhes but Hechi brings him back up.

Hechi has Moxley on the ropes, wraps the arm through the ropes, then pulls! Hechi CLUBS away on the arm until the ref counts 4. Hechi lets go, but he keeps Moxley against the ropes to ELBOW him in the back! Hechi puts Moxley in a corner to CHOP, then brings him around. Hechi snap suplexes Moxley down, then eggs him on. Moxley snarls as Hechi sits him up and rains down fists! Hechi ELBOWS Moxley in the head, then stalks him to the ropes. Hechi CHOKES Moxley, CLUBS him again and again, then stops as the ref counts. Hechi brings Moxley back up, spins him around, and reels him in as Dynamite returns to single picture.

Moxley fights the lift while fans sing “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~!” Hechi grabs a leg but Moxley fires hands. Moxley reels Hechi in now, but Hechi trips Moxley! Hechi ties the legs up as he turns Moxley over, and the shows off an EL PASO LASSO! The fans cheer while Moxley endures! Hechi shoves Moxley away, and Moxley hobbles to a corner. Hechi runs in but Moxley avoids the knee! Hechi lands safe on the ropes, but Moxley brings him off with a fireman’s carry! Hechi fights free, shoves Moxley again, then hits him with the LARIAT into the SLEEPER! Moxley endures as they’re on the ropes, and he drags Hechi up those ropes for a LONDON TOWER!

The fans fire up while both men are down! Moxley coughs and sputters but he rises to his feet. Hechi is on the apron, Moxley runs up, but Hechi avoids the boot! Hechi has the leg in the ropes for a DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Moxley grits his teeth in pain, but Hechi then traps the leg in the ropes so he can STOMP it! Moxley climbs up to get Hechi with the SUPERPLEX! The fans fire up as both men are down again! Moxley crawls his way over, pushes Hechi to th ecover, TWO!

Moxley clamps onto Hechi with a SLEEPER, then drags him back into the body scissors! Hechi fights against the Rear Naked Choke, rolls back to pop free, and now he has the REAR NAKED CHOKE! Moxley dares the Don Callis Family to keep bringing it! Well speaking of, Konosuke Takeshita appears! The Alpha will still have his turn at Revolution, but will Moxley be worse for wear when AEW finally returns to Los Angeles?

Brody King is here!

The King of Death doesn’t really worry about his entrance music, he just grabs a mic on his way into the ring. El Paso barks with him before he says, “SWERVE! You know, I could be like you. I could stand on that announce table for half an hour, telling everybody just how dangerous I am. But I don’t need to do that, because I KNOW that I am the most dangerous man in AEW! So why don’t you get your ass out here and I can prove that tonight!” The fans like that idea! But Prince Nana shows up to tell Brody, “I hear you, alright? I hear you loud and clear. But are you sure you wanna do this, my friend? Are you sure you wanna go down that rabbit hole with the man himself? Are you sure about that, Brody?”

Brody says quit talking, Nana, and bring Swerve’s ass out here. Nana laughs and says okay. “Without further interruption, ladies and gentlemen… May I introduce to you the REAL Most Dangerous Man in AEW… SWERVE! STRICKLAND!” Nana laughs an evil laugh while the music begins, but Swerve doesn’t enter from the stage! HE ATTACKS FROM BEHIND! Swerve uses his chain to BEAT BRODY DOWN! The fans boo but Swerve just hits a HOUSE CALL!! Swerve then picks his chain back up, and he wraps it around Brody’s neck! The fans boo as Swerve CHOKES Brody, then links the chain to the rope!

Swerve tells Brody, “You know how you chain a dog up? Just like this! I had to send a message to Kenny Omega. Now I gotta send that same message to you. All of the AEW roster is on notice. It’s one thing talking about being the Most Dangerous Man, it’s another actually doing it! And I’m about that action. So guess what? I will be seeing you in LA at Revolution! For your information, and a little reminder, I humbled a man in LA, too.” But then BANDIDO runs out here!

Swerve gets clear before The Outlaw can get at him! The fans boo Swerve but he just smiles seeing what he did to Brody. Will Swerve do far worse to put Brody down for good?

The Death Riders speak.

Daniel Garcia says that’s what they like every single week! Don Callis Family, are you stupid or are you dumb? When you gonna stop picking fights you cannot win!? Wheeler Yuta has Garcia step aside, and Yuta shows off the bald head. “Get a good look, okay?! Losing my hair was the darkest moment of my career. But the Death Riders are the reason I’m not wallowing in my misery. They’re the reason I’m prepared every day for war! Cuz I know when I walk in that arena, and there are thousands of people screaming hurtful, mean, terrible things at me, trying to kick my ass, I know the people I care about most in the world have my back. Through loss, I have freedom.”

Marina then calls out Toni Storm again. “You better shoot from the hip and make me laugh, for your sake. You p*ssy!” Moxley says they all are, aren’t there? A bunch of punk asses! Don Callis Family, CMLL, was THAT the baddest hombre you got? NJPW, all these advertising agencies that got into pro-wrestling! NOBODY does it like they do! No team is like this team! No one is willing to go as long and as far as them! Takeshita, at Revolution, it’s just you and Moxley. And they’re gonna go as long as it takes. They’re gonna see this through all the way to the end. The Death Riders head out, will they take everyone out along the way?

The fans boo, and Kris CHUCKS a guard aside! Kris storms into the ring but Thekla’s already in retreat! The Cosmic Killer couldn’t protect Rosa, but will she be the one to avenge her now?

Jack Perry speaks.

“Last week, to cap off Mile High Madness, I pinned Ricochet for the third time. Now, every time the odds have been even, I beat you. But every time that it’s really counted, instead of fighting me man to man, you and The Gates of Agony have found a way to cheat. We both won battles. Pretty soon, it’s gonna be time for you and I to finish the war.”

Ricochet responds.

The One & Only tells Jack to listen: “Ya boi been jet-setting! I am the most fighting champion in AEW, brother! So if it’s a fight that you want, if it’s a war that you want, then a war you got. Because when you are in Demand, you can make demands.” Kaun adds, “And if you don’t meet our demands…” Toa Liona finishes with, “YOU GET PUT DOWN!” AHA~! Then when and where will Ricochet and Jack Perry finally settle the score?

On-stage interview with Tommaso Ciampa.

Renee Paquette introduces the Psycho Killer, and El Paso cheers as he makes his entrance. Ciampa is fired up like his pyro, and Renee says he has been so impressive here in AEW. An instant classic with Mark Briscoe to win the AEW TNT Championship, and then he unfortunately lost that title to Kyle Fletcher. What does Ciampa plan to do to get back on top? Ciampa says let’s address the elephant in the room that is Kyle Fletcher. He took the title, he renamed it from Silvey to Pinkie, and gave her a makeover without Ciampa’s consent. Now Fletcher is hiding behind the Don Callis Family, hiding in tag matches and trios matches.

“Because Kyle Fletcher knows the second we run back Fletcher VS Ciampa, you are looking at your NEW TNT Champion.” The fans cheer that! Ciampa says if he has to play games, he’ll play games. And if that means he has to earn a rematch, he’ll do that. If that means he goes to war with Mark Briscoe one more time, he’ll do that, too. But make no mistake, he didn’t come to AEW for “instant classics.” He came here to be a top guy! The fans cheer that, and Renee brings up the history with Mark Briscoe. They go way back- Wait, FTR interrupts. Ciampa sighs and the fans boo as Cash & Dax make their way out.

Dax stares Ciampa down, then hugs him? Cash hugs him, too? Dax says they’re only here to welcome an old friend to AEW! And earlier, Ciampa said he wants to be a top guy? Well, what better way than to surround yourself with these Top Guys. Dax will extend an olive branch to Ciampa like he’s never done before. Dax would love if Ciampa would join them and take over AEW. The fans boo that idea, but Dax says c’mon, old friend. Ciampa says yeah, “old friend,” just what he was thinking. Because Ciampa hated FTR’s guts ten years ago, and he still hates them today. But no, hey, quiet, Stokely, the grown-ups are talking.

Dax has Ciampa hold on. It doesn’t matter how good of friends they were or were not, you do NOT speak to #BigStoke like that. And if Ciampa has a problem with Stoke, then he has a problem with FTR. Ciampa understands earlier tonight, FTR signed their No Physicality with The Bucks, but uh… Ciampa didn’t. He SMACKS Dax! Cash gets in Ciampa’s face but Dax has him back off! The fans cheer, but FTR cools down. Dax says he is not mad at Ciampa. But see you on Saturday. The AEW World Tag Team Champions already got on the wrong side of the Psycho Killer, but will Dax the Ax cut him down? Or will Ciampa make sure no one will survive this Collision?

Toni Storm has a cameraman follow her.

She busts into the medical trainer’s room and asks “Citrus Boy” what those Dogs did to him. Cassidy says, “A lot. Pretty sure I got put through a table, hit in the face with a shillelagh… Those dudes just wanna fight. And if they want to fight, then Darby and I will fight them. We’ll fight them at Revolution. But that’s not for another couple weeks, so we’re also gonna fight next week. And then we’ll fight all the weeks after that. We’ll fight, we’ll just fight ’em.” Toni says that’s well said, Clementine. But hear this! Where there are War Dogs, there are Death Riders not far behind.

So then there’s no better behind to be behind than her behind “if you’re a nicotine-chewing Nancy who wants her lips twisted, and her face fisted! Got it?!” Cassidy says, “Yeah…?” Now, can’t you tell he’s indisposed? Begone! The camera feed cuts, but will nothing and no one stop the TIMELESS Conglomeration from overcoming everyone in their way?

MJF smiles and applauds his handywork as he costs Hangman and his friends. But will screwing Hangman over only add to the torture MJF is going to suffer through? And as for The Don Callis Family, will they continue to collect belt after belt until they reign over all of AEW?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, but AEW wouldn’t need to use the overrun every single week if they didn’t try to do EVERYTHING, even unnecessary promos, every single week! The show’s flow was doing so well, until FTR and The Bucks had their meeting in the boardroom. FTR are great in the ring but lately, their promos grind things to a halt. And what did this add other than FTR sucker punching Brandon Cutler? We know The Bucks are upset about FTR going after their family, they said so last time, AND it’s just obvious anyway. FTR confronting Ciampa was at least something fresh, a nice reference to their WWE days, and probably could’ve been the one FTR promo we got.

The promos with Brodido and their separate stories at least established the matches we knew were happening. Andrade being obnoxious to Bandido was good stuff, and Brody calling out Swerve only to get jumped and choked out was also good, especially for the heat. Swerve will of course beat Gravity, but the question is how badly. It’s equal parts a message to Bandido and Brody, so I wonder if we get Brodido VS Swerve & Andrade for a go-home Dynamite or Collision. Either way, I feel like Andrade and Swerve are each going to win their matches; Andrade needs to build momentum if he wants after MJF, and Swerve just started his Heel turn, he also needs to maintain momentum.

MJF VS Knight opening the show was rather surprising, but it makes sense now. It was an awesome match, Knight really establishing himself as a singles competitor, but of course MJF won. Though, Hangman didn’t need his own match, he could’ve just called MJF out when he showed up on stage. MJF could then clap back right there, and DCF could’ve jumped Hangman and JetSpeed right there. Then we still get the trios title main event, which honestly surprised me being an “impromptu match.” It was an awesome match, though they didn’t give as much Aussie Open moves as I’d hoped. But in the end, MJF screwing Hangman over was a fine way to protect the Faces in losing, but makes me think even more now that Hangman has to win at Revolution.

Perhaps part of the Don Callis Family winning the trios titles is so they can be given to the Death Riders. Great match from Moxley VS Hechicero, and of course Moxley won. I don’t think we needed that group promo from the Death Riders, since Marina snuck in her promo on Toni during Moxley’s entrance. But I suppose Yuta still had to speak on how he’s bald now but won’t let that be a source of shame. I could see Yuta, Garcia, and Pac going for the trios titles, but I don’t know if they’d be able to take those off Protokadaussie Open fair and square. Kyle VS Bailey being announced during the trios match was a bit sloppy, too, and I would think Kyle wins that, too.

Darby & Cassidy VS The Dogs was a great tag match, and while Darby & Cassidy won, the big surprise was David Finlay showing up. It wasn’t 100% guaranteed he was going to WWE but I at least thought there was a chance. But to be fair, he gets to be exactly the same Savage King David Finlay he was in NJPW by going to AEW, even joining up with his guys here. Depending on how they play this, a Conglomeration member like Mark Briscoe could join Darby and Cassidy in a Six Man Tag with the Dogs, but I also wonder where Roddy Strong fits into all this. Very good promo from Toni & Cassidy in response, and we have gotta get Toni VS Marina for Revolution.

The IInspiration losing to Brawling Birds in such jobber fashion was rather surprising. They didn’t get one good shot in on Jamie & Alex the entire time, and got stacked with the finisher. If they’re going to be All Elite now, they’re starting at the bottom after building up quite a bit of hype from their stop over in Stardom. Thekla VS Rosa was a great match, especially since they chose to keep everyone else in the back. But as I figured last week, Thekla was going to win this, so at least she did it cleanly. Kris failing to protect Rosa might mean Kris gets her rematch with Thekla at Revolution, but they’d have to put that together right away with this week’s Collision or the go-home Dynamite.

My Score: 9/10
