NXT UK Women’s Championship: Meiko Satomura VS Xia Brookside!

The Final Boss starts off the night being the fighting champion she is, defending against a rather spoiled second generation superstar. Will Xia’s new attitude only earn her a humiliating defeat? Or can she actually do what no one has done and dethrone the Best in the World?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and Xia’s confidence is put to the test against the best!

Fans rally up as the two circle. Xia goes for the tie up but Meiko moves aside. Meiko might be toying with Xia already. They tie up now, Meiko headlocks, Xia avoids the takedown one way but Meiko shifts and gets the takedown the other direction. Meiko has the arm, goes back to the headlock, but Xia fights up. Meiko facelocks, floats to a waistlock, but Xia pries free of the hold. Fans singing for Meiko as she and Xia reset. Meiko calls for a test of strength, Xia knuckle locks but Meiko trips her up and has the top wristlock. Xia rolls back, Meiko wrenches, wristlocks and brings Xia to her knees. Xia pushes back but Meiko keeps on the wrist.

Xia pulls hair but Meiko wrenches through to keep the wristlock. Xia throws a forearm, uses the rope to flip through and has the wristlock. Xia CLUBS the arm, YANKS it, but Meiko rolls. Xia wrenches again, hammerlocks the arm, but Meiko throws elbows. Xia holds on so Meiko reaches down to trip Xia back. Meiko has a toehold but Xia kicks with her free leg. But Meiko steps through on the toehold to pull on it harder. Xia kicks Meiko more but Meiko lets off to KICK the leg! Meiko uses a toehold and roll to TOSS Xia! Xia hobbles up, fans rally behind Meiko but Xia kicks low and hits a headlock takeover. Meiko headscissors and holds tight as Xia tries to kip up.

Xia moves around, headstands, fans rally up and she pops out. Xia does her shimmy but Meiko gets up in a huff. Xia gets to ropes for defense and shouts for her to back off. The ref has Meiko back off, Xia tries a kick. Meiko blocks, but Xia boots back! Xia KICKS the leg, and again! Meiko goes to ropes, Xia DOUBLE KNEES her in the back! Xia stands on Meiko and stomps away on her back. The ref counts, Xia lets off and argues with the ref. Xia snapmares Meiko to KICK her in the back! Cover, ONE!! Fans taunt Xia with “Who’s your daddy?” and Meiko throws forearms. Meiko whips, runs in and forearm smashes! Snapmare and a KICK to the chest knocks Xia down!

Fans want that “One More Time!” so Meiko gives another KICK! Meiko drags Xia up, scoops and SLAMS her down! Meiko drags Xia up, wrenches, KICKS her then throws her down, for knee drops! Cover, TWO! Meiko drags Xia up, kicks but Xia ducks, only for Meiko to turn it into an ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! Xia reaches but the arm is extended! Xia gets the ropebreak and Meiko lets go. Xia goes to a corner, Meiko walks over, Xia BOOTS her right down! Meiko gets up, Xia runs in to NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Xia is shrieking as she drags Meiko up and throws forearms, Meiko kicks and EuroUppers back. Meiko headlocks but Xia fights it, only for Meiko to throw a body shot.

Meiko gut wrenches for a POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Xia is showing grit but Meiko runs, only for Xia to duck the wheel kick! ROUNDHOUSE to CODE BREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Xia is furious and she throws a tantrum before she fires off clubbing forearms! Xia whips, Meiko PELES! Xia falls, fans fire up for Meiko. Xia goes to ropes for defense again, but Meiko waits on her to get up. Meiko brings Xia up, fireman’s carries, but Xia fights free! Xia throws forearms but Meiko ROUNDHOUSES! Fireman’s carry, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Xia sits up in a daze, fans fire up and Meiko runs in, SCORPIO RISING! Cover, Meiko wins!

Winner: Meiko Satomura, by pinfall (still NXT UK Women’s Champion)

Xia can come up with excuses about not being ready with just a week’s warning, but it was clear she wasn’t on the Final Boss’ level from the start. How long will it take for Xia to get what she wants? How long will it be before the Best in the World finds her equal?

Charlie Dempsey arrives at Teoman’s home.

Rohan Raja is there to greet him. “Let’s go to the roof.” They go up the spiral staircase, then through to the balcony to look out at London. Raja brings out a phone. “Teoman passes on his gratitude. What’s important to you, Charlie?” “Legacy. Heritage. That’s what’s important to me. I know it’s important to you, as well.” Dempsey saw the trouble they were having with Gallus. “Those pub brawlers have no respect for anyone inside the ring. I thought the two of you could use a helping hand.” Raja asks Teoman if he heard all that. “Teoman says, ‘Welcome to Die Familia.'” The family grows stronger, but will they take Gallus’ kingdom from them?

Meiko Satomura returns to the locker room.

Emilia McKenzie is there and congratulates her mentor on the win. NXT UK Media is also there, and they also congratulate Meiko. What is next for her? She’ll go home to Japan for a couple weeks and rest up. But then Blair Davenport barges in and asks what Millie will do without her only friend here to protect her. Millie is pretty sure she’ll do just fine. Blair doesn’t believe that. Why not step in the ring with Blair? Challenge accepted. Blair will be looking forward to that. And Blair hopes Meiko will bring back presents, arigato. Will #SuplexMillie give the devious Davenport something special of her own next week?

Saxon Huxley VS Kenny Williams!

The Divine Beast of the Astral Plane is still raving mad, and he’s also upset with how “Kenny Cockroach” got away with one last week. Will Huxley crush the Scum of the Earth this second time around?

The bell rings and Williams throws his jacket at Huxley! Huxley catches it, stomps it, but Williams fires off hands! Huxley elbows Williams away, whips him then CLOBBERS him! And then again! Huxley KNEES Williams against ropes, whips but Williams reverses to rake the eyes! Fans boo but Williams goes for a leg. Huxley shoves him away and runs Williams over! Huxley runs to CROSSBODY Williams against ropes! Fans fire up as Williams flops halfway out the ring. Huxley drags Williams in, waistlocks but Williams elbows out hard. Huxley CLUBS Williams and Williams tumbles out of the ring. Fans rally up, Huxley storms over but Williams scrambles around the corner.

Huxley fakes Williams out and slides out the side to CLOBBER him! Huxley drags Williams up to put him in the ring, then BOOTS him down! Huxley stalks Williams, runs and STRADDLE ATTACKS on the ropes! Cover, TWO! Fans rally for Huxley as he pushes Williams down, drags him up, but Williams kangaroo kicks him away. Williams headlocks, Huxley powers out but Williams pulls hair. Huxley swings Williams into an URENAGE BACKBREAKER! Huxley dribbles Williams off the mat and fans fire up! Huxley drags Williams up, TOSSES him to a corner, then runs in to SPLASH! Huxley whips corner to corner, runs in but Williams dodges! Huxley tumbles up, out and to the floor!

Williams goes out after Huxley, but he checks under the ring. Williams BOOTS Huxley down, kicks him against barriers then drops an elbow! Williams drags Huxley over to the ring, CLAWS his back, then hauls him in at 7 of 10. Williams basement dropkicks and covers, TWO! Williams CLUBS Huxley down, clamps onto an arm, but Huxley shoves him away. Williams boots Huxley, CHOP BLOCKS, then hops up to FLYING STRADDLE ATTACK! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up but Williams straddle attacks Huxley down again. Williams throws crossface forearms, but Huxley blocks! Huxley arm-drags Williams across the way, but Williams comes back with a CHOP BLOCK!

Williams stomps away on Huxley, but Huxley blocks the dribble to throw body shots. Williams cravats, Huxley blocks again and throws more body shots. Huxley blocks the kick, DECKS Williams with a haymaker, but Williams goes for a leg. Huxley TOSSES Williams away! Williams runs, into a pop-up BACKBREAKER! Fans rally for Huxley and he throws more body shots. He has Williams in the corner as he fires off, then reels him in for a LARIAT! And then another! Huxley gets Williams up to scoop and TOSS! Huxley storms over to whip Williams corner to corner, back again, and then scoop him for a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!

Williams survives but Huxley drags him to a drop zone. Huxley stomps Williams down, climbs up, but Williams grabs at his legs. Huxley shoves Williams away then BOOTS him down! Huxley hops up the ropes, but the elbow drop FLOPS as Williams moves! BASEMENT DDT! Cover, TWO!! Huxley is still in this and Williams grows frustrated. Williams CLUBS away on Huxley’s back, then drags him up. Williams has the headlock, but here comes Subculture! Williams talked trash to Mark Andrews, but where is he then? Huxley runs in to back body block in a corner! Fireman’s carry and WIDOWMAKER! Cover, Huxley wins!

Winner: Saxon Huxley, by pinfall

Huxley gets even with Williams, and maybe so did Subculture! Williams got tricked by the high-fiving, stage-diving, skateboarding rockstar, but will #MAndrews have to worry about Kenny Cockroach creeping up on him later?

Sha Samuels has a Heritage Cup Contender’s list made.

The East End Bookie is here with his side hustle to give us the odds. “Eh? Kid” is 2/1, “Tiler” Bate is 3/1, “John Coffee” is 4/1. Saint Johnny Saint is 14/1, Doink the Clown is 100/1, and it seems “Samson” Gradwell is 4000/1. #LOLMUGBET. Oh, here we go. Gradwell barges in and says he’s here to talk about that match with Dar. Oh yeah, how’s the leg. Never better. Wait, Gradwell’s sixth? Yeah, can’t he read? But why is he the bottom? Thunderstorm’s always at the top. “Sam, Sam, Sam. Let me stop you there. You’ve lost every single match-” “Not every.” “Well, most of them.” Gradwell says Sha has a selective memory, weak brain.

But how about this then? Next week, Sam Gradwell VS Sha Samuels, 10 on Gradwell himself. At them odds? Well… Odds say Gradwell won’t pin Sha. No, the odds say it’ll be a very, very hefty payout for Sha to Gradwell when he wins. So get the winnings ready, yogurt! Will Sha lose more than just a match when these two tie up and throw down?

NXT UK takes a closer look at next week’s tag title match.

Pretty Deadly know Moustache Mountain are “Founding Fathers” of the brand, having put in the hard work. The world needs hard workers. The world needs stone and cement, the foundation. But Pretty Deadly are the beautiful building put on top of that foundation. They’re NXT UK’s Sistine Chapel. Some people aren’t meant to be that. Some people just aren’t good enough. Trent Seven & Tyler Bate find it funny Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley would think that. They know full well that the respect is there. Moustache Mountain built this. Pretty Deadly is just smoke and mirrors. The champs admit that Moustache Mountain gave them their hardest match to date. They agree on that.

But Pretty Deadly won. So what’s next for Moustache Mountain when Pretty Deadly wins again? Seven asks Bate what he’ll do if they don’t win. Bate says, “No mud, no lotus. Perspective.” Think of all the time that’s passed, everything that happened, and how they weathered it together. June 2018, they took the NXT Tag Team Champions. They may have started the team with a bit of a joking name, a bit of fun, but now they know what “Moustache Mountain” means. It is the climb, the struggle, and now they’re nearly at the peak. And what will top it all off is the NXT UK Tag Team Championships! “We’ve got this. We need this, Tyler.” Seven needs this!

Sam Stoker says the Moustache Mountain fans have come back because they desperately want to see this moment. Seven says they’re doing it for the fans. Sam says they’ll break everyone’s hearts. There’s a silver lining, though. Fans have lost two men to look up to, but have gained “two tasty snacks” to believe in. A whole new world of Pretty Deadly fans. Seven, Bate, the people they really need to apologize to are you. “We’re sorry.” So much on the line, Moustache Mountain needs this! They vow it is their time, and those titles are going to be coming home to the cabin on Moustache Mountain!

NXT UK Championship: Ilja Dragunov VS Rampage Brown!

It took so much for #UNBESIEGBAR to finally take this title from the Ring General and finally take his place as The Czar of NXT UK. That was a feat not even Rampage Brown could achieve in his previous title opportunity. But now, Rampage has thrown away respect and replaced it with rage! Will Dragunov’s reign end already? Or will he show Rampage the depths of brutality he used to defeat Walter?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and BT Sports Studio is already fired up for this powerful main event!

Rampage and Dragunov circle, tie up, and go around in a deadlock. Rampage powers Dragunov to a corner, the ref counts, Rampage lets off but Dragunov ducks the sucker punch. They reset and circle again, tie up again, and Dragunov gets around to waistlock. Rampage powers Dragunov backwards to a corner now, but Dragunov avoids the elbow to CHOP! Dragunov eggs Rampage on a bit, they tie up again and Dragunov waistlocks again. Rampage pries the hold but backs Dragunov up again. The ref counts, Rampage hits the sucker punch! Dragunov fires forearms in return! Dragunov headlocks and grinds Rampage, but Rampage powers up.

Dragunov holds tight and drags Rampage to the mat. Rampage fights up, Dragunov cranks the hold. Rampage powers up but still can’t power out as Dragunov holds tight. Rampage still tries, but Dragunov even fights off a back suplex. Dragunov grinds the headlock but Rampage back suplexes! But Dragunov still holds on! Fans cheer the toughness and the technical savvy, but Rampage powers up. Rampage finally powers out and Dragunov rams him with a shoulder. Rampage rebounds, but into a headlock takeover! Fans cheer again, but Rampage fights back up. Rampage throws body shots, powers out again, another shoulder ram, and again Dragunov headlocks, but Rampage back suplexes free!

Fans jeer with “Rampage Sucks!” but Dragunov flops out of the ring. Rampage goes out and hauls Dragunov up to POST him! Then he gets him back up, to POST him on the other corner! Rampage throws Dragunov into the ring, stalks up behind him, then drags him up to scoop and SLAM! Cover, ONE!! Rampage is annoyed, but he stalks Dragunov to ropes. Fans rally up but Rampage stands on Dragunov’s back! The ref counts, Rampage lets off, Dragunov gets up to CHOP! And he powers up to lift Rampage! Only for the back to give up on him. Rampage smirks as he looms over Dragunov, and then he drops a BIG elbow on the back! And another! Cover, TWO!

Rampage is still annoyed, but he clamps on a rear bearhug. Dragunov endures, fights up, fans rally and Dragunov throws elbows into Rampage’s neck. Dragunov is free and he CHOPS Rampage again! Rampage headbutts back! Dragunov falls over, Rampage drags him from ropes to whip him hard into a corner! Dragunov bounces off buckles and falls to the mat. Rampage drags him up to CHOP him! Dragunov wobbles but Rampage whips him hard into more buckles! Cover, TWO! Dragunov gets to the ropes and he kicks Rampage from below. Rampage stomps him, Dragunov kicks again then gets up to chop! Rampage DECKS Dragunov with a forearm!

Fans rally up, Rampage stands Dragunov up to whip him to ropes. Dragunov holds ropes but even those hurt his back! Rampage drags Dragunov up again, gut wrench, but Dragunov hooks the leg! Dragunov resists, throws elbows into the thigh, then Alabama lifts!? Fans fire up as he manages to back drop Rampage! Rampage gets up, Dragunov is on him for a suplex, but Rampage blocks. Dragunov throws body shots, but Rampage blocks the suplex again. Rampage tries to suplex but Dragunov fights that to wrench and throw forearms. Dragunov throws them from all sides, then spins to SLAP Rampage! Dragunov powers up to suplex, but he can’t get him up and over!

Rampage ROCKS Dragunov with a forearm, Dragunov comes back with an ENZIGURI! Fans fire up for “NXT! NXT!” as Dragunov gets back up. Dragunov leans on ropes, Rampage slowly stirs. Dragunov aims from a corner, but the ref has to call it! Rampage is OUT, Dragunov wins!

Winner: Ilja Dragunov, by referee stoppage (still NXT UK Champion)

That enziguri shot got Rampage at just the right angle, and Dragunov holds onto his title! Will Rampage be able to fight his way back to another chance? Or will The Czar move on to another worthy opponent?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode, but a bit of a shame on that main event. Dragunov VS Rampage was gearing up to be an awesome match but that was a legit knockout situation with the enziguri hitting Rampage in the head like that. Not something they can get around for a reshoot, so hopefully Rampage is alright. Not sure who is next for Dragunov but surely they’ll get that set up in the coming weeks. We got a really good vignette for the tag team championship match next week, that is going to be an awesome one, and it still feels like it could go either way even now. Not really sure NXT UK would have such a historic moment for Moustache Mountain happen on a normal episode, but I feel like it could get some good buzz going if they did.

At first, I thought Huxley VS Williams was some kind of adjustment, but it seems they’re taking the long way to Williams VS Andrews. Huxley getting the win that way was pretty clever, and Huxley is definitely a sleeper hit within the roster who deserves a little something. Gradwell had a good promo with Sha, and their match is going to be really good, too. Teoman not being part of the vignette that gave us the official faction name, “Die Familia” (Die pronounced “dee” from how Raja said it) seems a bit of bad timing. Between Teoman’s absence there, Dani Luna’s absence last week and Jinny suddenly dumping Joseph Conners, I hope there’s no health concerns going on in NXT UK right now…

Meiko VS Xia was a very good opener, but it was clear Meiko would retain. Xia could’ve tried to cheat a bit more now that she’s Heel, but she might start doing that as she continues down this path. Meanwhile, Meiko is taking a leave of absence, which could very much be real with holidays coming up. Millie VS Blair will be a good one next week, and will certainly be Blair’s win that brings her closer to a title match. At this point, I don’t see Blair winning the title, she just hasn’t felt that strongly built up yet. Blair Davenport/Bea Priestly is a great talent, but it’s just too soon in her story.

My Score: 8.4/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

https://x.com/i/status/1816629254349533588

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

https://x.com/i/status/1816633784537874761

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

https://x.com/i/status/1816647373654724937

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
