Emilia McKenzie VS Blair Davenport!

Meiko Satomura’s student continues to be the gatekeeper to who faces the Final Boss next. Will #SuplexMillie keep the gritty goth from going for gold? Or will she be minced meat in Blair’s brutal hands?

The bell rings and the two tie right up. They go around, Millie waistlocks but Blair wrenches out to a wristlock. Millie slips through to wrench and wristlock back. Blair spins through, steps through, wrenches then headlocks, but Millie throws body shots. Millie powers out and arm-drags Blair, then arm-drags again! Blair blocks the third, but Millie wrenches to TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Cover, TWO! Millie waistlocks Blair again, but Blair resists the lift and backs Millie into a corner. Blair throws back elbows, arm-drags Millie now, then runs her right over with a shoulder! Blair kicks and stomps Millie, KICKS her in the back, then drags her up to bump off buckles.

Fans rally for Millie but Blair digs her boot in. The ref counts, Blair lets off, but she waits on Millie to stand. Blair runs in to forearm smash, then snapmare and basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Blair CLUBS Millie, Millie hits back, but Blair snapmares and wraps on a chinlock. Millie endures as fans rally up. Blair cranks on the hold, Millie fights up and throws body shots. Blair knees low, whips but Millie reverses to CLOBBER her! Millie starts to rally but Blair back elbows! Millie ducks the clothesline to back suplex! Cover, TWO! Fans rally as Millie drags Blair up, underhooks the arms, but Blair fights the suplex. Blair wrenches out to ROCK Millie with a forearm!

Millie CLUBS Blair back! Blair throws body shots, Millie fires forearm after forearm! Blair sobats, Millie comes back, ducks and dodges and SPEARS! Cover, TWO!! Very close for Millie, but fans rally up as she focuses. Millie waistlocks, but Blair blocks the lift! Blair pries the hold, wrenches, BOOTS, and whips. Millie reverses, Blair goes up and up and missile dropkicks! Cover, TWO! Blair grows frustrated but she drags Millie right back up. Blair suplexes, Millie slips out and waistlocks, HIGH ANGLE GERMAN! Cover, TWO!! Blair survives again but fans rally up as Millie goes corner to corner. Blair BOOTS her away, Millie comes back but is put on the apron.

Millie shoulders into Blair, climbs up top, rolling handspring but into a KNEE! Blair gets Millie back up, FALCON ARROW! Almost a driver variation! Cover, Blair wins!

Winner: Blair Davenport, by pinfall

Millie could not stop Blair, and now there’s a clear path to the NXT UK Women’s Championship! But Blair isn’t done, she drags Millie into an STF! Using Meiko’s favorite submission against her student, and while Meiko is away in Japan! Blair says she wants Final Boss VS Ichiban Gaijin! “Matane!” In English, “See you later!” Blair wants her shot, has she simply ensured her demise when the Best in the World returns?

Noam Dar & Sha Samuels visit Sid Scala’s office.

Dar wants Sha to be respectful, this is the boss. Never! Sha bangs on the door, they step in and Dar says, “Look what we have here! Me, the Heritage Cup Champion. You. When I first came to NXT UK, you didn’t believe in me. I didn’t feel the trust that I need from my employer.” But go ahead, congratulate him, and even thank him. Sid says congratulations are in order. Good enough. But while they’re here, Sid wanted to mention one thing. Next week- The party bus? No no. Nathan Frazer VS A-Kid, in a Heritage Cup #1 Contenders match. WHAT?! Sha, calm down. Dar told him not to bang on the door. Bye, Sid.

Dar and Sha grumble their way out, but will they grumble even more when Dar learns who his next challenger will be?

NXT UK has a medical update on Rampage Brown.

After the essentially knockout enziguri from Ilja Dragunov in their title match, Rampage was monitored by WWE Medical. As a result of losing the match, Rampage was not in the state of mind to answer questions, and refused further treatment. He hasn’t even answered calls from management.

NXT UK Media catches up with Xia Brookside.

She’s apparently in the middle of a conversation with someone, and they want to ask her about her loss to Meiko Satomura. Xia gets defensive because they’re trying to “embarrass” her in front of her friends. It’s not HER fault that she lost! She had ONE WEEK to prepare! IT’s not enough time! Sid set her up, it’s not fair! Her friends walk away, and Xia continues to complain. She then storms off, but will her spoiled streak only get worse from here on?

Jordan Devlin is here!

The Irish Ace heads to the ring and already soaks up the heat from the BT Sports Studio crowd. Devlin gets the mic to say, “Y’know something, man, I think it’s time we got on the same page about something. Me, you guys, everyone in the back, you people watching at home. I am standing here today in front of you, the longest reigning NXT Cruiserweight Champion in the history of this company. I am the star. I am the franchise player. I am the Ace of this brand. And in my opinion, there’s only one thing left for me to do here. I think it’s time for me to take the NXT UK title.” Fans are torn hearing that, but Devlin calls Dragunov out.

Devlin won’t interrupt Dragunov, Dragunov can come out here to Devlin’s ring and be face to face with the Ace. Devlin will run Dragunov outta town! Dragunov makes his entrance! Fans cheer as Dragunov goes to the ring and gets a mic of is own. “Jordan, I really appreciate your abilities in the ring, I truly do. But what this whole show is all about, like… This whole talking… Where I come from, we don’t talk so much. So, if everything you want is just to have a match with me, why don’t you just ask for it?” Devlin tells Dragunov that he knows who’s Dragunov beaten. All good men, honorable men. Men that come to the ring and fight for the love of the sport, and tell you the mat is sacred.

Devlin’s not like those men. He won’t stop if Dragunov knocks him out, or quit if Dragunov breaks his nose. And between these ropes, there is nothing sacred to him. If Dragunov gives Devlin a chance, and Devlin only needs one chance, he’ll end Dragunov’s career to win the title, and not lose one wink of sleep over it. Dragunov laughs that off. He’ll make this clear to Devlin. There’s nothing Devlin can say to intimidate him. There’s nothing Devlin can make to make Dragunov nervous or scared. Just be sure whatever kind of fight Devlin will bring, Dragunov is prepared for everything. Fans chant for “UNBESIEGBAR!”

Devlin says, “I do hope you know what you’re getting yourself into.” And that his wife at home forgive shim for it. And that he can explain to his son, Constantine, why he has to grow up taking care of daddy. Dragunov DECKS Devlin for that one! Referees rush out as Dragunov has Devlin in the corner! Devlin hits back once they pull Dragunov away, but then Devlin bails out. Will the Irish Ace take everything from The Czar? Or will he bust playing this dangerous game?

NXT UK hears from Amale.

Amale’s name means “Hope” in Arabic, which is why she is the French Hope. She has shown her aggression and readiness to destroy, but this frustration isn’t from nowhere. All her life, she has been told, “No.” “No” because she is a woman, because of where she comes from, because of how she is an Arabic immigrant in France. But she’s always had the dream of being a WWE superstar. She is a law school graduate with two Masters degrees, she speaks three languages and was a teacher. She could’ve done anything she wanted in life, but she chose to become a WWE superstar.

It didn’t go as expected, because no one believed in her. She even started to doubt herself, to the point of almost quitting. But after her first tryout, hope came back in her life. She fights for her dreams, because this is her life! She gets emotional as she says people don’t understand how important this is to her. Her parents said, “No, go to law school.” Parents of her students said, “No, don’t try.” She is sick of people telling her what to do. She wants to be at the top, on the big stage. This is what she’s meant to do, and nothing is more important to her. Her parents are now very proud, and happy to see her happy.

She is the first and only French female superstar in the WWE, and if she can be a glimmer of hope to others, she’ll be happy.

NXT UK hears from Kenny Williams.

“Now there’s people in this life who like to pretend. Who like to go around, put up a façade, acting like they’re something they’re not. And there’s no shortage of pretenders in NXT UK. And none bigger than Mark Andrews. He’s the cool kid, the rockstar, the skateboarder. That? That is all an act! Mark Andrews is a scared, insecure little boy.” Williams says all this and you can trust him, because he used to be a pretender. But not anymore! Mark, Kenny is everything you think he is, and ten times worse! Andrews is all that’s left of Subculture right now, and when Kenny’s done with him, there will be nothing! And in its place, all that will remain is the Scum Culture.

Will #MAndrews be put on the sideline like Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna? Or can he crush “Kenny Cockroach” once and for all?

Sam Gradwell VS Sha Samuels w/ Noam Dar!

The Thunderstorm and the East End Bookie made quite the bet last week. Gradwell put 10 on himself at 4000 to 1 odds, meaning he could be raking in 40,000 on top of the winner’s purse! Will Sha have to quite truly put his money where his mouth is?

The bell rings and the two circle as fans rally up. They tie up, go around, and Gradwell throws Sha away. Sha and Gradwell tie up again, Sha pushes Gradwell back but Gardwell again throws him away. Dar gives Sha some tips, Sha and Gradwell circle again. Sha headlocks, Gradwell powers out but Sha stops himself to get away to his corner again. Dar gives him more pointers, Sha and Gardwell circle again. Sha knees low, CLUBS Gradwell on the back, then  CLUBS him again! Gradwell hits back, Sha knees low! Sha bumps Gradwell off buckles, CLUBS him on the back, but Dar points out the leg. Sha goes for it, but Gradwell stops that!

Gradwell gets Sha’s arm for a double wristlock, then a clinch. “C’mon, you yogurt!” “Shut up, you mug!” Gradwell ROCKS Sha with close-up forearms! Gradwell ripcords but Sha CLUBS back! Sha CLUBS Gradwell to the ropes, brings him around to CLUB him again, then whips to ropes. Gradwell kicks back, then STO! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up and Gradwell drags Sha up to underhook. Sha gets away, then yanks Gradwell into buckles! Sha CLOBBERS Gradwell, then SPLASHES in the corner! “You stupid mug!” Sha runs to CLOBBER Gradwell! Cover, TWO!

Fans rally up, Sha drives elbows into Gradwell’s shoulders. Sha stands on Gradwell, “ALL THE MONEY!” He KICKS Gradwell in the back, covers, TWO! Sha slaps Gradwell around, brings him up but Gradwell EuroUppers! Sha EuroUppers back! Sha kicks Gradwell, DOUBLE CHOPS him on the back, then brings him up to talk some trash. Gradwell pulls Sha’s ear! Gradwell CLUBS the ear then eggs Sha on! Grawell rallies with lariats and elbows! Gradwell whips Sha to a corner then BACK DROPS him on the rebound! Gradwell CLUBS Sha, runs and clotheslines Sha out of the ring! Gradwell goes out to the apron, FLYING FOREARM takes Sha down!

The ring count climbs and Gradwell fires up! Fans are torn, but Gradwell gets Sha in at 7 of 10. Sha crawls away, bails out, but Gradwell goes out, only for Sha to trip him on the apron! Sha scoops and SLAMS Gradwell to the floor, then he gets his scarf to rally towel for “EAST! EAST! EAST!” Sha puts Gradwell in at 7 of 10, scoops and MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, TWO! Dar coaches Sha to hurry, and Sha gets Gradwell up to reel him in, EXPLODER! Cover, TWO!! Sha argues the count but the ref says it was fair. Sha brings the suspender straps down, then takes them off, but the ref stops him from using them as a whip! Gradwell then gets Sha’s scarf?

Dar goes over to make Gradwell put the scarf away, but Gradwell’s pretending to be choked! The ref sees that, and he thinks Dar was actually choking Gradwell!! Dar tries to explain but Gradwell gets up to TOWEL WHIP Sha down low! Then fireman’s carry, for the SAMOAN DRIVER!! Cover, Gradwell wins!!

Winner: Sam Gradwell, by pinfall

The Thunderstorm uses trickery to get even with the Scottish Supernova and East End Butcher! But will Sha keep his word and pay up?

Gallus finish up a job.

Not exactly a side hustle, if you catch my drift. But the “jobs” are getting harder. Especially with that new mob coming up. Mark Coffey asks if it feels like everyone’s out to get them. “Die Familia~.” Wolfgang asks Joe how they’re going to deal with that new kid. Who, Dempsey? Yeah. He thinks he’s a throwback, huh? No school like the old school. Aye, and Joe is the headmaster. But then let’s leave a mark on him, and the rest will crumble. Right, an eye for an eye. Once they leave him laid out, Gallus will be the ones smiling. Time to go. Will Gallus Boys still be on top after going after Teoman’s newest “brother?”

NXT UK takes a closer look at Frazer VS A-Kid.

The Spanish Sensation says the Heritage Cup made him the superstar he is today. It is about time he comes back home to the cup. But the British Prodigy says that while this may be just another match for AK, this is the biggest moment of Frazer’s life. He was blown away by AK’s technical ability and ring IQ. AK is planning on training differently, build up his strength so that he can keep Frazer down because of how fast he is. Frazer says he is one of the best high-fliers, and AK will play his game. Frazer will bring AK into the sky and drop him, so that AK will go SPLAT. AK says timing beats speed.

People already say Frazer is the future of NXT UK. AK remembers when they were saying that about him. AK isn’t the future, he is the present! And he hopes Frazer steps up, just like AK did. Frazer’s back is against the wall, but that’s where he thrives. Which young star shines brighter than the other next week?

NXT UK Tag Team Championships: Pretty Deadly VS Moustache Mountain!

Sam Stoker & Lewis Howley found a rather unscrupulous way to win these titles off Gallus, and a similarly sneaky way to keep the belts from Trent Seven & Tyler Bate before. Will the dandy highwaymen have one more trick up their fashionable sleeves? Or will this finally be the time The Artful Dodger & The Big Strong Boy make history?

The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and something’s gotta give in this tag title rematch!

The teams sort out, Bate starts against Stoker. They circle, tie up, Stoker shoves Bate away and shouts, “We’re the champs! This is about us! Not about you!” Bate and Stoker tie up again, Stoker pulls hair, wrenches the wrist, but Bate rolls, rolls back, breaks free to wrench back! Bate knuckle locks, wrenches and WRINGS Stoker to then dropkick him down! Howley gets in but gets a dropkick, too! Bate arm-drags Stoker to have the wristlock and fans rally up. Stoker fights up, Bate hammerlocks to a headlock but Stoker wrenches free to a top wristlock. Stoker throws Bate down, has the top wristlock, but Bate fights up.

Howley tags in, Pretty Deadly double top wristlock, but Bate walks up the corner to double arm-drag them away! Fans fire up, Bate ducks them both, tag to Seven! DOUBLE DROPKICKS take Pretty Deadly down! Seven and Bate both clothesline Pretty Deadly out! The champs are frustrated but fans fire up and Howley gets in to be thrown out. Stoker saves Howley from taking a tumble, Pretty Deadly give Scott Hall “ooh~” fingers as Stoker puts Howley on the apron. Stoker tags but from the outside and the ref points out that’s illegal! Seven still goes after Stoker, but Howley gets in to DEAD LEG Seven! Howley drags Seven up to throw EuroUppers but Seven body shots.

Howley uppercuts, headlocks, but Seven powers out, only for Howley to run him over! Howley stomps Seven, runs, but Seven drops, then CROSSBODIES, but Howley catches him!? Howley pops Seven to a scoop but Seven slips off to scoop and SLAM Howley! Stoker gets in, but Seven scoop SLAMS him beside Howley! Seven runs to drop a leg on Howley, brother! Cover, TWO! Tag to Bate, Seven brings Howley up and Moustache Mountain double suplex with a stall. Stoker runs in but Seven intercepts with a kick. Bate keeps Howley up, Seven suplexes Stoker! Stereo SLAMS out of the suplexes! Cover, TWO! Bate keeps cool, brings Howley around and throws EuroUppers.

Tag to Seven, Bate fireman’s carries and WASTELAND SLAMS! This is a role reversal from how they usually do this, Seven KNEE-BOARD SENTONS Howley! Cover, TWO! Howley gasps but Seven CLUBS him. Seven wrenches, but Howley breaks free to CHOP! Howley puts Seven in a corner, CHOPS him again, but that just angers Seven! Seven CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS! Seven fires up, fakes Howley out but Stoker saves Howley from the DDT! The ref reprimands, Howley drags Seven up to throw him out. Howley shoves Bate but that distracts as Stoker goes for Seven. Seven CHOPS away on Stoker! But Howley goes out to RAM Seven into apron!

Tag to Stoker, he goes out after Seven to whip him into steel steps! Fans boo but Pretty Deadly soak up the heat! The ring count climbs, Stoker gets Seven in at 6 of 10. Cover, TWO! Stoker rains down hands, then drags Seven up. Seven throws body shots and fans rally, but Stoker EuroUppers! Seven is in a corner, Stoker CLUBS him, then hoists him up top and backwards. Stoker climbs up, mocks the Moustache Mountain posing, but Seven elbows him down! Howley gets Seven’s leg but Seven SMACKS him away! Stoker CLUBS Seven’s leg out and Seven hits the mat hard! Somehow, Seven is okay, and Stoker drags him to a cover, TWO!!

Tag to Howley, they mug Seven in the corner, then Howley brings Seven around to CLUB him down. Seven sits up but Howley CLUBS him again. Howley drags Seven up to EuroUpper, then he tags Stoker back in. Pretty Deadly double whip and double shoulder him down, then #YESBOY, they run to LEG DROP SPLASH COMBO! Cover, TWO! Seven refuses to give in, Stoker taunts him and stomps him. Fans sing for Seven but Stoker has him in the corner. Seven fights against both Stoker and Howley, kicks Stoker but Howley reels Seven in. Seven still fights, goes for his corner, but Stoker wraps on a sleeper hold! Seven JAWBREAKERS free!

Howley tags in, he throws Seven out hard! Tag back to Stoker, he drags Seven back up and mocks the singing, only for Seven to suplex him down! Howley hurries to get Stoker in the ring so he can tag! Howley keeps Seven from his corner but Seven kicks him away! Hot tag to Bate! The Big Strong Boy rallies on Howley with big fists! Bate shoves Howley to a corner, fires off body shots, but Stoker runs in, so Bate just adds him to the corner! Stoker shoves back but Bate gives him an EXPLODER! Bate kips up, Howley put shim in the corner but Bate KNEES him away. Bate goes up to FLYING UPPERCUT! Bate then gets Howley for an EXPLODER of his own!

Bate kips up and fires up, and fans are with him for the STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up for Bate as he gets Howley up. Bate underhooks the arms, but Howley wrenches out to ROCK him with a forearm! Howley block the rolling kick, reels Bate in, but Bate fights free of the bomb to underhook! TYLER DRIVER 98! Cover, TWO!! Howley survives but fans rally up for Bate. Bate brings Howley up in a waistlock and deadlift! Howley elbows free, switches, but Bate goes to ropes! Stoker tags in as Bate bucks the waistlock, but Bate ducks the sucker punch, only for Howley to back elbow! Howley fireman’s carries, ASSISTED GUT BUSTER DROP!! Cover, TWO!!

Stoker seethes and Howley is furious, but then Pretty Deadly get an idea. Fans rally up for Moustache Mountain, and so Pretty Deadly decides to copy something from Moustache Mountain’s book! Howley tags in and Stoker full nelsons Bate. Howley runs, rebounds, but Bate ducks and Howley CLOBBERS Stoker! Bate shows Howley how it’s done with the REBOUND LARIAT!! Fans fire up and Seven rises! Bate crawls over, hot tag to Seven! Seven, clutching his neck, kicks Howley, CLUBS, CHOPS, haymakers, repeat! Seven fires up, he fakes Howley out, but Stoker runs in! Seven BACK DROPS Stoker then DDTs Howley!

Seven roars, ripcords, but Howley BOOTS! Seven STILL LARIATS! Cover, TWO!! Howley survives again, but BT Sports Studio is thunderous as Seven rises again! Seven hoists Howley up but his back is bothering him! Howley elbows Seven down, tags Stoker, but Seven still lifts! Howley slips off, bails out, Seven chases after but Stoker BOOTS him down! Stoker then slingshots and somersaults, KANGAROO KICK! Howley calls to Stoker, Stoker tags him in. Howley DECKS Bate, Stoker hoists Seven up, SPILT MILK!!! Cover, Bate breaks it!! Bate got in just in time with that low boot and fans are thunderous for “NXT! NXT!”

Stoker whips but Bate throws him out. Bate puts Bop up, BANG sends Stoker down! Bate builds speed and he DIVES, but into SPILT MILK!! Pretty Deadly hurry to get back in the ring, Howley tags Stoker. They drag Seven up, Howley gives Stoker the BOOST into the CODE BREAKER! Howley gets Seven up to POWERBOMB! And then deadlift POWERBOMB onto Stoker’s knees! Cover, TWO!?!?! Seven survives and infuriates Pretty Deadly!! Fans fire up but then Howley gets the belts! Howley throws one in to Stoker but the ref takes that away. The ref forgets about the other belt! Howley throws that to Stoker, then wants the ref to give back the first. BELT SHOT to Seven!!

Stoker covers, TWO!?!??! HOW?!?! BT Sports Studio rallies for “TRENT! TRENT! TRENT!” and Pretty Deadly are beside themselves. Howley wants in, Stoker tags him. Stoker drags Seven up and Howley goes to a corner. But Bate anchors Howley and Seven DRAGON SUPLEXES Stoker! Howley kicks Bate away but leaps into a SUPERKICK from Seven!! All four men are down but the fans rally up! Seven calls to Bate, they both crawl to their corner. Howley is gasping, Stoker flops out of the ring. Hot tag to Bate! ROLLING KICK to Howley!! Bate adjusts up top, for the BIG SPIRAL BOY SENTON onto both Pretty Deadly! Cover, MOUSTACHE MOUNTAIN WINS!!!

Winners: Moustache Mountain, by pinfall (NEW NXT UK Tag Team Champions)

FINALLY! Seven & Bate reign together in NXT UK! Seven has his first NXT UK belt, Bate has the NXT UK Triple Crown, and together, Moustache Mountain is the FIRST team to have held NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championships! Is this new chapter only the beginning of an epic reign for Seven & Bate?

My Thoughts:

What a great episode for NXT UK! Millie VS Blair was a really good opener, but Blair winning was a given as she was clearly being built as a major challenger to Meiko Satomura. It’d be quite shocking if Blair won against Meiko her first time trying, but with Aoife Valkyrie recovering from injury, it’d make sense if Blair got the nod. Amale had a very good vignette and I sense this is how they’ll turn her Face. Xia Brookside has a decent promo to of course blame Sid for her loss and add to her bratty Heel persona. In a way, that’s the double turn since Amale went after Xia a few months ago. Good little promo vignette from Gallus to keep up the kayfabe that they really are Scottish mafia.

I like that they managed to play off the shoot knockout shot Rampage suffered. Devlin calling out Dragunov and wanting his shot for the NXT UK Championship was great stuff, and a natural move. That’s going to be an awesome match, maybe they can arrange it to be the last main event of 2021, all in the big week WWE will have going towards Day 1. Dar & Sha had a great bit with Sid to set up Frazer VS A-Kid, and we got a good promo vignette from Frazer and A-Kid. The contender’s match can go either way, but I don’t see either of them taking the cup from Dar so soon. Gradwell VS Sha was great stuff, and how great that Gradwell got one over on them.

Kenny Williams had a good promo to plug his coming match with Mark Andrews, and as it turns out, Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna are both injured, so it will be a long time before Subculture is back at full force. Maybe Kenny wins so Andrews can take some time off, or maybe Andrews wins and tries his hand at the Heritage Cup. Then we got a TakeOver/PPV level tag match from the main event. I honestly did not think they were going to give us the Moustache Mountain win here tonight, which is why it was so awesome to see that happen. History made on a seemingly random Thursday, I hope Moustache Mountain gets to face everyone in NXT UK Tag Division before ever losing.

My Score: 8.8/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

https://x.com/i/status/1816629254349533588

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

https://x.com/i/status/1816633784537874761

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
